You knew something was wrong when Aonung didn’t have that stupid cocky grin always plastered to his face, no taunting gleam in those bright eyes, no entitled comments rolling from his mouth like it was his birthright (which in some ways it was, but you’d never admit that).
He had stumbled into the healing marui you occupied when helping Ronal out as Tsakarem, completely oblivious to you seated on the floor, crushing some herbs in the cool shade from the entrance. You frowned first, fully intending on asking him what he was doing bothering you right now when he knows full well his mother isn’t in here, before it occurs to you that he mustn’t know you’re in here either.
Usually, he spots you with that piercing gaze reserved only for you, just so he can come over to make some snarky comment or boast about his latest accomplishment you hardly pay attention to. Which makes it extremely odd he hadn’t noticed you in your pretty obvious spot on the floor, staring at him with confused annoyance as he rifles carelessly through the boxes and storage of herbs you had just organised.
“Can I help you,” you ask with a sigh. You were well used to Aonung’s entitled take on life, but this was a whole new level of brazen cockiness to storm into your healing marui and make a complete mess.
But to your surprise, Aonung flinches back, apparently actually not having realised you were right in front of him, face twisted in a slight grimace, which he tries to hide with a scowl.
“Yes, actually,” he grunts, teeth grinding slightly as he straightens up. You notice the muscles in his neck tighten as he winces again. “Where is all your stupid healing shit?”
“In this marui..?” you point out, getting increasingly confused, and now slightly unnerved. “You need to be more specific. What do you need help w-”
“I don’t need help,” Aonung says tensely through gritted teeth, and your frown deepens. “Just- where is all your stuff?”
He gives an irritated flick of his hand as he turns towards you, accidentally knocking over a box of herbs you collected this morning, all of them spilling and mingling out of their neat selections onto the woven floor.
This is how it usually was with Aonung. Since the two of you became betrothed, you had tried to make reason with him, but by this point you had resigned yourself to the fact that your future mate was a complete and utter skxawng. Trying your best to fight down the pained, annoyed shout you were longing to berate him with, you take a deep breath and lightly tug at his arm.
“Sit, Aonung,” you sigh, leading him to the floor. When he impatiently tries to tug himself free, you tighten your grip and give him a stern look.
“Do you know who I-”
“Yes I am very aware who you are Aonung,” you roll your eyes, pushing down on his head to try and get him to sit, to no avail given his ridiculous size. “But this is my marui where I heal, so no matter who your parents are or if you’re going to lead in the future, I won’t be tolerating bumbling skxawngs with anger issues breaking my stuff.”
Aonung huffs in disbelief and you’re sure he’s about to make some comment that one day you’ll share as mates, blah blah blah, but finally to your surprise, he obliges and sits cross-legged on your woven mat for your patients, and you sigh with relief.
“That wasn’t so hard, was it?” you say, patting his head like a good little boy and kneeling in front of him. “Now what’s wrong.”
“Nothing,” he grumbles, not meeting your gaze and scowling.
“Right,” you raise your brows. “So I guess I’ll just let you sulk on my floor then.”
“Perfect, I don’t need you bothering your pretty little he- HEY!”
You suck in a sharp gasp, ignoring Aonung’s indignance that you distracted him to try and discern the issue, and his ears flatten back against his head. Half of his side, stretching painfully from his waist and up along his ribcage is scraped with the unmistakable barb of the outer-reef coral, and there’s a deep bite mark in the flesh of his left arm. Instantly, your gaze flicks up to Aonung, to find him already watching your face closely.
“You went hunting outside the reef alone? Again?”
“Eywa,” Aonung says sullenly. “I’m not a little boy, I can take care of myself.”
“Clearly not,” you whisper, eyes raking once more over the scrapes. “Otherwise you wouldn’t be here.”
“I didn’t know you were in here,” Aonung hisses, teeth gritted once more. “If I knew you’d be here and bothering me, I never would have come. I can just as easily leave-”
“No!” you say quickly, grabbing his arm to keep him still. “I’m sorry. Just let me help you.”
Aonung blinks, the words he’d been about to utter dying on his tongue at your offer, before his gaze flicks down to his arm held in your gentle, smaller hands. Instantly, for fear of being yelled at for touching the precious prince, your fingers loosen, and your hand drops away, face flushing.
“I just mean,” you correct, clearing your throat and cursing the blush on your cheeks, “that it wouldn’t be right of me to let you leave like this, particularly with you being… who you are. Just… please stay still Aonung.”
To your surprise, he blinks back, still looking a little disorientated which you quickly write off as a side effect of his injury. With a small sigh of relief and a shy, encouraging smile, you stand up and gather some herbs and ointments, mashing them in a large round shell before kneeling back in front of him.
“This may sting a little,” you say gently, placing a steadying hand on his shoulder to get a good look at his injuries. All he returns is a curt nod, muscles tense under your fingers as your face peers around his body.
It’s a tedious process, wiping and dabbing the scrapes with a cool damp cloth, tentatively smearing the paste over them before blowing lightly on it. Despite all your determined efforts to be overwhelmingly gentle – you are weary of the fit he might throw if you accidentally hurt him – Aonung doesn’t complain or wince or hardly even bat an eye, and you’re ever grateful for it.
However, it is a tense ordeal. Every light brush of your fingers against his warm muscled body makes his jaw clench. Every infinitesimal flex of your hand on his shoulder as you lean and shift to treat him makes the muscles in his neck strain somewhat, as though he’s fighting the urge to break away from you. Every cool breath of yours fanning across his skin has his eyes narrowing and widening in a laboured almost-panic.
You’re almost scared to speak (though you don’t know what you would say), terrified to break this strained, stretched silence, but also very aware of every movement, noise, and flinch in said quiet. You settle on finally speaking; at least that way you aren’t flinching every time you accidentally brush against him.
“Are you okay?” you ask quietly. “Is this not-”
“It’s fine,” Aonung says tersely, cutting you off with blunt coldness, and you feel yourself wincing inwardly at how stupid you sound right now.
“Right,” you mutter under your breath, aspirating the t and rolling your eyes. You duck your head back down and continue in your work, praying to Eywa he doesn’t notice the flush of your cheeks as you heal him.
Finally, his side is finished, and you take his arm in your hands to study it. It must be an akula bite, given the sheer terrifying size of it, and as you slowly dab the injury, Aonung finally cracks, letting a tiny wince and an almost silent hiss escape from his stony façade.
“Sorry,” you mumble, but Aonung just shakes his head, grits his teeth, and you continue.
It’s obvious this wound is deep, excruciating even, but Aonung stares straight ahead throughout your dabbing and smearing and blowing until you can finally wrap a bandage around it and clear your stuff away. You pour him a cup of soothing tea as he waits somewhat patiently for you to address him, maybe even dismiss him. His newfound obedience is strange, and you find yourself smiling at the sight of him sitting cross-legged and grouchy like a little boy who scraped his knee.
“You should stop hunting alone outside the reef,” you say quietly, back turned to him as you rinse out the paste and blood sodden cloth. “I don’t want you getting hurt again.”
Aonung is silent for a moment and you highly suspect he’s rolling his eyes or maybe even preparing himself for yet another entitled monologue on his great status and disregard for authority and yada yada yada, but strangely, you feel him shift behind you with an amused, “Yes ma’am.”
“I’m serious,” you huff, chucking the towel down and turning to glare at him. The amused look on his face slides off at the evident concern on your face, and you sigh. “You have to stop getting injured, Aonung.”
He blinks in surprise, before reaching out to tug you closer. He’s strong enough – even with his injury – to pull you alone, but you find yourself obliging and coming to sit beside him.
“Well, I’m lucky to have you to fix me up,” he comments, smirking slightly and tucking your hair back.
“Not if you keep acting like an absolute skxawng every time I try and help you,” you counter, but you don’t pull away. Instead, you still, letting Aonung’s hand tucking away your hair fall gently to stroke your cheek fondly.
“I’m sorry syulang,” he whispers, a small furrow forming between his brows. “I didn’t mean to worry you.”
“I wasn’t,” you lie. “You were bothering me.”
Aonung laughs lightly, but as his face trails nearer to yours, you still don’t pull away.
“Is that so?” he asks, face inches from yours. You don’t answer. It’s only when his lips are practically breaths away from brushing against your own when you pull back and frown at him.
“Heal first skxawng,” you grin at his offended, shocked expression. “Then we’ll see what happens.”

A Game of Thrones, Sansa I
He smiled at her. “Now, wolf girl, if you can put a name to me as well, then I must concede that you are truly our Hand’s daughter.”
Joffrey stiffened beside her. “Have a care how you address my betrothed.”
“I can answer,” Sansa said quickly, to quell her prince’s anger.
She smiled at the green knight. “Your helmet bears golden antlers, my lord. The stag is the sigil of the royal House. King Robert has two brothers. By your extreme youth, you can only be Renly Baratheon, Lord of Storm’s End and councillor to the king, and so I name you.”
Ser Barristan chuckled. “By his extreme youth, he can only be a prancing jackanapes, and so I name him.”
There was general laughter, led by Lord Renly himself.

Dune fanfic prompt
Idea: That scene where Leto and Stilgar meet for the first time, when Leto acknowledges the Fremen's suffering under the Harkonnen and asks what Stilgar wants as recompense, but in addition to "don't seek out our sietches, don't hunt our people, leave the sandworms alone" he also demands Paul's hand in marriage. Alliance by marriage is something these noble outsider families do, so he figures this is something that will mean more to the Duke than a verbal promise. The betrothal can be to the Fremen of your choosing, Chani, Stilgar, an OC.

Daminette December 2022: 15-Side Effects Ch.12
FIRST / PREVIOUS
Serena couldn't stand the smell of the new omega in the Wayne manor. She could see the two pups on the floor. They reeked of the omega and Damian.
'He was suppose to be mine!'
With a smile, she inched towards the closest pup. Before she could grab it, she felt pain radiate throughout her body. Serena screamed.
"I can smell your foul thoughts." Marinette whispered in her ear, gripping Serena's arm harder "Why do you wish to kill my pups? Why would you take them from me?"
Damian growled, "Answer my mate, Filth!"
"I was suppose to be your mate!" Serena shouted.
"I don't even know your name." Damian stated, "My father decided about our stupid union; I never wanted any part of it. I found someone better."
Bruce and Serena's parents rushed into the room. Marinette picked up Serena and tossed her at the adults' feet.
"If your daughter tries to come after my pups again, I'll break her neck!" she hissed.
Her parents looked at their daughter's mangled arm. They hadn't realized how strong the new omega, Damian had chosen, was. Maybe their plan to get the mark removed was a bad idea. The new couple was glaring at their daughter and looked ready to pounce.
"Damian, why don't you take Marinette and your pups , upstairs to your nest, so she can calm down and know you are all okay." Bruce suggested.
Damian picked up one of their pups and handed them to Marinette, who began to coo. He picked up the other and led them upstairs, without another word.
"Momma, Papa, that omega hurt me!" Serena cried, nursing her arm.
"You all need to leave." Bruce stated.
"You can't be serious!" Mr. Varin shouted.
"You're lucky she isn't dead." Bruce announced, "Marinette gave her a warning. If she had tried for a pup, alone with Damian, I'd be paying to get her blood and body scraped off the ceiling and the floor. You'd be taking her home in multiple doggy bags. Never step foot in the manor again, for your own health."
Mr. Varin grabbed his daughter by her good arm and dragged her towards the front door. Lera quickly bowed and followed her husband. Once they were gone, Bruce collapsed in the nearest seat.
'Oh, yeah. Dangerous combination.'

Stede asks, one day, about the ring on Izzy cravat.
Izzy tells him, all smug and snippy, that Ed gave him it, ages ago, and it means a lot.
So Stede calls Ed over and asks about it.
Ed laughs and says he doesn’t remember why he gave it to Izzy.
Izzy’s brain freezes and he has to go to his own shitty tiny room to cool off before he goes apeshit.
Ed. Ed doesn’t remember. He doesn’t remember giving Izzy that ring as a fucking promise. A reassurance that no matter what, Izzy would be the most important thing in his life. That Izzy would be treasured and made out to be an awesome person.
And Izzy genuinely considers throwing himself overboard. Because if Ed has forgotten the promise that he made, years ago yes, but it still counts, then Izzy doesn’t remember why he even devoted his life to Ed.
He’s killed for Ed, lied for Ed, taken beatings and stabbings for Ed.
And what does he get?
An offhand comment and laugh about something so meaningful that Izzy is seriously considering killing himself over it.

Dark and Cold Pt.1
Tumblr media
People breathed in the chilling air as you grew closer. As they heard the clanging and ricketing of your carriage, Fear filled their lungs as the small ice crystals that followed you everywhere also stabbed in their breaths. Your entire family had a… cold hearted reputation.
After you stepped from the carriage, the clacking of your boots on the stone caused people to scurry off like rats. You walked to a bar and walked in, the room falling quiet.
You watched them whisper through your snow covered eyelashes. You softly smiled, “Good evening everyone, are we all well?”
A few people responded, you grinned as you walked to the bar and sat at one of the stools, “May I please have a warmed ale with tad lemon?” You asked the bartender politely.
“Of course, Lady Eismantel. Of course.”
You pulled a few coins from your pocket, “Thank you so much.” You sat them and scooted them to exchange for the warm drink. “It’s a rather chilly night, even for my taste.”
The bartender lightly laughed, “It must be freezing then.”
You nodded as you drank the ale, “Do you know how much longer I have til the edge of the fold? I am supposed to be there this time tomorrow.”
“I’d say about five hours in horse back. That’s the only way we travel, miss.”
You nodded, “I see. Well, I am traveling by carriage so I will say about seven, accounting for potential problems.”
You finished the ale, sitting the mug down. “That was lovely. I will be leaving now.” You stood, white cloak falling behind you.
As you left the bar, you began thinking about how you’d been invited to observe a new form of Fold travel. As a Lady of the Eismantel family, you were extremely interested in it as your family grew to respect and prestige by trading and trading over the Fold was an important thing to watch and hopefully adopt. You also were heavily interested in a special someone who was also going to be there: General Kirigan.
You watch from your carriage as the land goes by, a comfortable small smile falling on to your face as you thought about him. Most soon to be wives thought of their soon to be husbands like this or as you were told.
Of course, you’ll only be married if this is any form of success but you were so adamant in your belief that it would that you had already started making the traditional schal der liebe that women in your family had made for their lovers for centuries.
It was a long scarf of delicate material and protective symbols were hand embroidered with threads that had the wife’s hair woven in. It was said to protect the wearer from disease and misery. You knew that he’d love it as you had discussed it with him from when your betrothal had been announced three years ago.
You were rather irritated at first like any normal person would be but in those years, he’d grown to be very special to you. You smiled widely as you pulled the navy blue thread through the shimmering grey fabric, thinking of him wearing it.
By the time you had arrived at the camp where he was going to be, your hands had been pricked by the needle and your fingers were sore from all the layers of embroidery you’d done. You swore to make it the most luxurious one in your family history. You gently put it into a lockable box in your carriage before waiting for the door to open.
As you stepped out, you looked around the camp, noticing people staring at you. You carefully took off your heavy carriage cloak as to not drag it through the mud that covered the ground. Then you heard it, his voice.
“It’s wonderful to see you.” It floated in the air.  You turned to face him. Eyes immediately locking.
“It’s wonderful to see you as well.” he raised his arm for you to loop yours into. You smiled as you did so.
“Was your trip safe? Any trouble?”
“No, it was rather comfortable and easy. I enjoyed it. It’s nice to see the country side ever so often, good for the soul.”
He looked at you, “I am sure you’ll want to settle in and maybe change, then I will walk you through a tour of the camp and show you what you’ve undoubtedly came to see.”
A soft smile remained on your face, “Well I already saw what I personally came for but I do have other business. Is it really going to increase the safety of fold travel?”
“That’s the goal. We’ve designed it by send other single ships in and pulling them back out, looking at what seems to withstand the storms and encounters within the fold.”
You and him talked back and forth about it until he brought you to a tent set up to the left of his.
“This is where you’ll be staying, I will ask that your things be brought to you.”
“Thank you,” you said, releasing yourself from his arm and walking to the folded open door, “I will be seeing you.” You swished your hand, making a few snowflakes appear from your finger tips and float around him. He smiled at you before turning and walking away.
Kirigan walked as the snowflakes slowly melted behind him. His smile dropped as to not cause suspicion as he walked to study the map of the other side and discuss the best place to enter the fold.
He needed this to work for so many reasons. One of the ones high on the list being you.
He loved you so much and to think that this was one of the things that stood away in forever made him angry and he needed to make it to where there we be no chance of losing you.

A Good Match by oleanderedits

A Good Match
by oleanderedits
G, 7k, wangxian
Summary: Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji's personalities clashed from day one, becoming a heated rivalry. Each striving to out-do the other and stretch the rules of GusuLan as far as they could without breaking them in their unspoken - but obvious - battles. Things start to go awry when Wei Wuxian ups the game and starts one of the most spiteful and hate-filled courtships the world of Cultivation has borne witness to.
But surely they won't take it too far! Surely they'll stop before it gets to the point of absolute embarrassment!
(of course they don't)
My comments:  Hahaha. This delivers... precisely what it advertises. (Sequel is equally funny.)
humor, canon divergence, students at cloud recesses, pov outsider, pov multiple, one-upmanship, competitive wangxian, spite courting, courting rituals, forehead ribbon, fake/pretend relationship, maybe? who can tell? nie huaisang is running bets, bets & wagers, betrothal, animosity as love, comedy, mixed canon, crass language, @oleanderedits

Your ideas are so creative damn!🤍 Could you do some unrequited love prompts about a character watching their bff fall I love with some else and sadly realizing that it's better to be just friends than not being in eachother's life at all .🤍
Ah thank you! I do my best :)) Tried to give a little variety.
Damn, right in the feels with this one, huh?
1. B has been betrothed to C since they were little. A knew this when they met B, and always knew it would be best for B and their family to go through with the marriage, but they’d always hoped that B would still choose them instead... Now, watching A meet C again and fall in love, B knows it was never meant to be, and instead tries to swallow their feelings as the date of the wedding draws closer and closer.
2. A has been giving B dating advice, and even though A has feelings for B it was never really much of an issue. But now that B’s gushing to A every day about how they’re falling head over heels for their current date, A’s finding it harder and harder to give honest advice. They know it’s because they’re jealous, but they also don’t want to hurt B and lose their friendship just because B’s found someone else.
3. A has been excited to introduce B to their friend C, but when the two meet and start talking, it quickly becomes clear to A that B and C are meant for each other, and they start feeling like a third wheel with their own friends.
4. It’s been years since B first confessed their feelings to A, and the two have settled into a comfortable relationship since. A is now happily dating C, and B is comfortable being A’s close friend and nothing more... usually. Occasionally, B can’t help but think back to those days and wonder how their lives might have been different if they’d ended up dating instead... even if it meant they wouldn’t be in A’s life anymore. (This one’s great for a split timeline story!)
Like my prompts? Leave me a tip!

A Game of Thrones, Catelyn IV
Ser Rodrik cleared his throat. “Lord Baelish once, ah…” His thought trailed off uncertainly in search of the polite word.
Catelyn was past delicacy.
“He was my father’s ward. We grew up together in Riverrun. I thought of him as a brother, but his feelings for me were…more than brotherly.
“When it was announced that I was to wed Brandon Stark, Petyr challenged for the right to my hand. It was madness. Brandon was twenty, Petyr scarcely fifteen. I had to beg Brandon to spare Petyr’s life. He let him off with a scar. Afterward my father sent him away. I have not seen him since.”
She lifted her face to the spray, as if the brisk wind could blow the memories away.
“He wrote to me at Riverrun after Brandon was killed, but I burned the letter unread. By then I knew that Ned would marry me in his brother’s place.”

I think I only know two ways to be in a relationship, one of them is to be 100 with one person, the other is to be with no one. Now you want me to be in spite of everything and ignore the fact that you're with other people, now you're telling me that I can be with other people. A way of being that I don't know. And I don't know if I can actually do it. Maybe it's something I've always wanted to do or maybe I can't stand it. I don't really know, we'll see 💥
