DAY 2: SPOOKY DECORATIONS (KENMA KOZUME)

Gender neutral Reader

Warnings: Post Timeskip but no spoilers! Established relationship, one curse word, jump scare, Kuroo and Bokuto shenanigans.

"Where does this one go?" Kenma asked, holding up a banner of skeletons, he agreed to at the very least do a little bit of decorations to--as you referred to it "Getting in the spooky mood".

You looked back at him and hummed in thought, "Maybe those can go on the edge of the counter, so please stick them there!"

He nodded and did as you said.

You giggled at how cute he looked, you had given his a black hoodie with a skeleton on it to put on. And with his faded orange track pants and socks, he looked adorable.

You barely realized that you had stopped what you were doing to completely ogle your boyfriend.

Kenma felt you staring and snickered softly.

"You tell me I'm slacking off, but you're the one watching me and not decorating!" His tone was soft but teasing.

You went up to him and hugged his waist from behind, burying your face in his neck.

"Cant I admire my sweet, cute boyfriend who actually decided to help me decorate?"

He sighed and leaned into you when you nuzzled him with your nose, his hand holding one of yours, "Its no big deal, I'm glad to help you!"

You scoffed, "Even though you'd rather be going at your own house?"

He nodded and you kissed his cheek.

"So what else do you wanna put up?"

"I want the bat stickers and the little pumpkin confetti to be all over!"

He nodded.

As you two went back to decorating, your front door burst open with your other two favorite bedhead rooster ex-Captain and owl-haired ex-Captain, "BOO BITCHES!" Kuroo shouted, as he held up two giant bags of decorations.

"BOO BOO BOO!" Bokuto bellowed out a variation of his favorite phrase (hey hey hey).

You smiled and laughed at Kenma's expression, he rolled his eyes and sighed, not happy with their uncalled for and unannounced visit.

"What are you doing here Kuro?"

Kuroo came over and pat the ex-setter on the back, "To help decorate of course, my dear Kenma! Though I'm surprised you're actually helping!" He glared at his best friend at the statement, looking at you to defend him but you just laughed while taking the decorations bag from Bokuto.

"Of course I'd help if they ask me! What do you think I am?" He sounded annoyed.

Kuroo put on a mock-hurt expression, "But you never help me when I ask!"

Kenma rolled his eyes, "That's only because you ask me to help you with stupid stuff!"

"Name one time anything I asked you help for that was stupid!"

You were enjoying their back and forth, listening amused while helping Bokuto put up more decorations.

Bat stickers on the walls.

Little ghost origami.

Orange themed curtains.

Kenma scoffed, "The time when you called me at 3AM when I was actually trying to sleep, saying you were stuck in the bathroom...only to find that the key was right next to you and I spent fifteen minutes trying to crack the door?"

Kuroo shut up real fast, only to pick up by saying, "I would've realized the key was next to me if I didn't have that stomachache!"

"The time you third-wheeled my date because the store we were at had a product you wanted? And I had to help you get it!"

As Kenma reminded him of all the times he helped Kuroo, you came up behind him again and laughed, "Y'know he's actually right? And each and every single time he helped you, you were hogging his attention from me! I'm not complaining but he's right!"

Bokuto laughed, "Dude! You gotta stop being a cockblock for your friend!"

While they argued you turned Kenma so he faced the living room, showcasing the decorations (because he hadn't been paying attention--because of Kuroo--again).

"What do you think?"

"It adds charm to your house!"

"Want me to come decorate your house a bit too?"

He shrugged, "It doesn't matter, if it keeps you around for a couple of hours, I'm fine!"

You kissed his cheek.

"You're so cute!"

After an hour of decorating, your house was staring to look good. Kenma was a big "help", though Kuroo and Bokuto's shenanigans were no help at all, they kept throwing each other with the decor and slime. Messing up your house completely.

"They're making a mess!" Kenma sighed.

You put your hands on your hips, "No slacking off, you layabouts!"

They groaned, "Oh come on!"

"Why??"

"We're tired!"

You slapped their heads, "I'm not paying you freeloaders to slack off!"

Bokuto pouted, "You aren't paying us!"

You rolled your eyes at him, "Gey back to work and you'll be rewarded with candy, you big babies! Have these decorations done in fifteen and you'll taste the gummy worms and candy canes!"

They straightened up, "Yes Captain!" They saluted you.

"Now get to work, ya blooming cockroaches!" You bossed them around.

While they got to it, you sat next to Kenma, who scoffed sarcastically, "Its not at all surprising to see that they're still both suckers for you!"

"The candy is their incentive babe!"

"Want a peanut butter cup?" He offered, you nodded and took one, reaching into the other bag beside you and pulling out a cute costume hat with bats on it--putting it on his head.

"Adorable!"

While you took a break, Kuroo begrudgingly hauled the black bags, blaming Bokuto for being the start of the mess in the first place. He goaded him on anyway.

"Hey! Why are you taking a break?!" He shouted at you.

"I'm tired and I can do what I want!" You said back.

He mumbled under his breath, noticing a black rug in the corner, he looked back at you, "Hey (Name)! Should I throw it out?"

You nodded.

He called Bokuto over to help him, "Hey Bo! Help me! This damn thing weighs a ton!"

"Sure man!"

The minute they pulled it away from the wall, a large toy spider (they didn't know it was a toy) jumped at them.

Kuroo shrieked and hopped around, trying to get it off, but the darn thing kept sticking to him. Bokuto was shouting and trying to get it off him.

"DEMON SPIDER! DEMON SPIDER!" Bokuto sobbed when the thing started sticking to him, "IT'S STICKING TO ME!" Kuroo cried.

"GET IT OFF! GET IT OFF KUBRO!"

"I'LL HELP YOU BO!"

While both men hopped around you started snorting. Kenma snickered.

"This is going to be an amusing month!" He raised a brow at you, "Nice prank!"

You smirked, a sinister laugh escaping your lips, "I'll say!"

「Headcanons of Oikawa, Kuroo and Bokuto’s reactions to their S/O kissing them in front of their team.」

OIKAWA TOORU

♤ Oh God, you're just feeding his ego at this point. Oikawa loves it when you shower him with attention, it makes him feel loved. The two of you dating wasn't something that you were hiding to begin with. He wasn’t shy with PDA at all so its no surprise that a large percentage of the students in Aoba Jousai knew about your relationship with the captain.

♤ This guy might look like he always has you on your knees, heart melting at how amazing he was. But let’s be honest here, its the other way around. Oikawa is kind of clingy, and everyone knows this. It was as if he had to prove to the whole world that you're his or something. He's clingy and you were so used to it that you let him do whatever he wants.

♤ It depends on how you initiate a kiss to be honest. If it was something he's expecting, he would return the favor almost immediately from how overjoyed he was that you were showing him some affection. However if you took him by surprise, he'd be quite flustered. And if you top it off with some compliments and an "I love you.", he's gone. This man will be so happy throughout the rest of practice.

KUROO TETSUROU

☆ Another guy who doesn't mind PDA. Kuroo was initially hesitant on PDA because he thought that it would make you uncomfortable in the early stages of your relationship. It took some time for you both to get used to it. This guy is very smooth, he does things very casually and it felt so natural. He would have his arm around you while you sat next to each other and hold your hand while you're walking.

☆ When it comes to big gestures like kissing and cuddling, he doesn’t mind doing in front of others but honestly it all depends on you. Kuroo would never do anything that would make you uncomfortable but once he gets your consent, he will take advantage of it. He will never pass up an opportunity to become a bit affectionate with you. It became like another sense for you.

☆ Kuroo never really expected you to kiss him in front of the team. His reaction will be a mix of surprise and excitement. This guy is absolutely whipped and his immediate response is to chuckle and ask what's with the sudden display of affection. He jokingly claims that you probably couldn't sit still and that he looked so irresistable. He teases and jokes around for a while before returning the kiss and telling you that he loves you.

BOKUTO KOUTAROU

♡ Come on, it's Bokuto. Out of the three, he would be the one who doesn't have a single problem with PDA. Even before the two of you got together, he was quite bold in his approach, not the least ashamed of asking you out in front of your classmates. Though after receiving countless of advices from his friends, he takes it slow in the beginning of the relationship.

♡ Never forces you out of your comfort zone. Bokuto is very affectionate and has no problem with PDA at all. He loves to hold your hand, swing it back and forth while the two of you are walking side by side. When he's feeling a bit too excited, he'll pull you into a hug and pepper your face with kisses. However, he's quite considerate, when he sees you avoiding eye contact and shying away from his affections, he will stop and opt for something for subtle.

♡ Bokuto wouldn’t say that he’s surprised when you kissed him in front of the team. His heart just swells at how cute you were being. In that moment, he forgets about everyone around him as well as the timing. Bokuto instincitvely gathers you in his arms and spun you around, while yelling how cute you were being in front of his teammates and friends. Needless to say, it was obvious that this boy is so in love with you.

Begs you to neither watch him practice nor attend his games, afraid his teammates would see him all jittery and flushed

“You’ll get bored” he lies, picking two milks from the vending machine before giving you a kiss and walking off, not ready to see your puffy eyes and cheeks

Almost dies when he sees you minutes later at the gym’s door, taking off your shoes

“Kyoko-san asked me for some help”

his soul flies away

When he finds you staring at him during his serves or tosses, you both turn into such a red mess the practice stops

“Why are you still blushing!!” he squeaks, clasping his fists

“Stop looking at me, then!”

everyone looks at the both of you shaking their heads at the bluntness of the first-year couple

“You two are one for another” Tsukishima looks at you annoyed before picking a ball

he gives you his extra milk as you leave the gym together, his face heating at the memory form earlier

“Why you have to make me blush so much?” he sighs

“What? YOU are the one who acts all cute and stuff, making ME blush!”

“I-I do?” YES YOU DO

KARASUNO BOYS REACTING TO LOVESICK STARE FROM S/O

𝙳𝙰𝙸𝙲𝙷𝙸 𝚂𝚄𝙼𝙰𝚆𝙰𝚁𝙰

“good job everyone, just another round of flying laps and we’re done for the day!” daichi announced as you silently stared at him. usually, waiting for him to finish practice was tiring and dull, yet this time you decided to pay more close attention to the training. it was one of your first times actually seeing daichi as a captain rather than your boyfriend. the way he watched everyone do as he said was oddly attractive. you glared at his tall stance, watching his eyes follow each and every one of his team’s movements. you could tell he was looking out for errors. you sat there wondering if he ever looked at you like that when you weren’t aware.

“y/n? you okay there?” daichi shouted from across the court, diverting his team’s attention to you. you didn’t expect so many eyes to suddenly focus on you. you abruptly sat up straighter and gave a quick thumbs up with a small smile. daichi nodded but his eyes stayed on you. everyone else went back to what they were doing, but daichi was still staring at you. he gave you a warm smile, glancing down in embarrassment of calling you out in front of his whole team. he went back to guiding his team, but this time, his confidence was slightly higher knowing you were there observing him.

𝙺𝙾𝚂𝙷𝙸 𝚂𝚄𝙶𝙰𝚆𝙰𝚁𝙰

you and suga were out on your usual afternoon lunch breaks together, and today you decided to pick the outside tables. the sun was shining brighter than ever, yet it was calmed down by a cool breeze. you sat there as you watched suga recite your usual order to the waiter. ‘peach ice tea with extra ice, and a side of blueberry muffins’ it was almost fascinating watching him repeating it every time, almost as if he’d spent days memorizing it. you slumped your chin onto your resting palm, watching how the sun brings out the deep hazel in his eyes, how the breeze swifts by his hair at just the right amount of pressure, how his smile comes so-

“y/n? off in dreamyland again?” he smiled as he leaned in closer towards you. you nodded slowly, gently fluttering your eyes closed. suga always had a small tendency to tease you, but he only did it to make you smile. he gently grasped your free hand, resting on the glass table. you looked down to see his pretty setter hands giving you a tight squeeze. as you looked back up, it’s almost as if suga was admiring you in the exact way you were before.

𝙰𝚂𝙰𝙷𝙸 𝙰𝚉𝚄𝙼𝙰𝙽𝙴

“asahi, trust me! braids on guys are really in right now!” you giggled, struggling to tie the last knot in his hair as he tried to wriggle out under you. his tall, muscular stance was no match for your determination. you sat back as you gazed at your creation. the braids were messy and almost impossible to notice but that’s not all you were gazing at. asahi was truly beautiful in that moment, with the sun reflecting onto his soft face. you slowly smiled, admiring his perfection. when he realised you weren’t looking at his hair anymore, a bright rose color flushed over his soft cheek.

“what is it y/n? does it look bad” he muttered, glancing up at you.

“not at all” you whispered, leaning in closer and giving him a soft peck on his lips. you could feel his face burning up right before you as he wrapped his hands around you. you couldn’t tell if he was embarrassed about the braids or flustered about catching you staring. either way, you were glad you made him blush.

𝚁𝚈𝚄𝙽𝙾𝚂𝚄𝙺𝙴 𝚃𝙰𝙽𝙰𝙺𝙰

“do you really have to go right now?” you whined as tanaka picked up his training bag and plopped it by the door.

“i know, i know, i really wish i could just stay here with you, but tournaments are coming up this week, i really can’t afford to miss a session” he groaned, slowly pulling his graphic T over his head, revealing his glistening abs. his body was truly perfection, there wasn’t a single flaw on his skin. you began to get lost in thought as you wondered how far those toned arms could throw you.

“hey hot-stuff? my eyes are up here” he laughed, throwing his head back. you weren’t aware of how hard you were goggling at his blessed body, so you were embarrassed to say the least. tanaka walked over to you, lifting your chin up so your eyes meet his.

“i never said to stop staring angel, i’m all yours” tanaka whispered as a small smile grew on your face. now you REALLY didn’t want him to leave.

𝚈𝚄 𝙽𝙸𝚂𝙷𝙸𝙽𝙾𝚈𝙰

“noya!” you panted as he sped past you, “wait up!” your boyfriend’s obsession with having races with you after practice was practically making your lungs collapse. you stopped momentarily to take a breather as you watched noya speed off into the distance. the amount of energy he had was insane, it’s almost like seeing a toddler on acid, yet it intrigued you. you watched him jog back and forth, waiting for you to supposedly catch your breathe (you were really just admiring him). eventually, he noticed it doesn’t take 3 minutes to catch your breath and decided to run back to you.

“hey! y/n! what’s taking you so long slow-poke? i think coach ukai’s granddad can catch his breathe better than you” he chuckled, slowly panting as his hands slipped down to his knees. lost in daydreams, you were still maintaining your direct stare into his eyes.

“what is it y/n?” he said groggily.

“oh, nothing. go back, i can catch up” you uttered between breaths as a sly grin grew on noya’s face. he turned around, getting ready to run again.

“oh and y/n, next time you decide to have a staring contest with me, make sure i’m actually playing” he grinned as he sped off once again, leaving you with your jaw hanging open.

“hm?” he said as he raised and eyebrow. you were clearly flustered, as you quickly shook your head and glanced down at your shoes. he didn’t wanna say anything to ruin the moment, so he just pulled you slightly closer and it’s like you could almost feel him smiling.

Will mostly want to duet with Narita multiple times usually to songs that are hype and joyful(still has his tambourine with him ofc).

He cannot sing for his life rip to everyone around him

Is the always the one to make embarrassing comments for his friends on stage to see how flustered they can get

It becomes a bet with Narita and Nishinoya to see who they can fluster the most

NARITA KAZUHITO

#2 hype man

He is the bitch who adds too many songs on the list and that’s why Karasuno never finishes all their songs

Drinks orange juice (and everyone bashes him for it because orange juice from karaoke is expensive) and Oreos to relax when on break

Prefers to sing slower songs compared to Kinoshita

He can sing but usually more baritone and kills it with lower songs. Anything higher and he will D I E

(his voice cracked once and the 2nd years won’t stop making fun of him for it so he’s a little traumatized)

Will probably play rock, paper, and scissors with Kinoshita to decide on their song together

If I started doing a Trans Tuesday event would anyone be interested? The idea would be to do short-format headcanon request fills that are 200 words or less. Everything would be for Trans/Non-Binary Readers. There seems to be a lack of content made specifically for us.

bokuto:

i feel like bokuto would be pretty sad during your arguments, rather than mad

he hates fighting with you

so the fact that this argument got so big that you needed to go to the bedroom for some space...kinda hurt tbh

he would be sulking around the house like a sad puppy, deciding to give you your space

he’d just be sitting in silence on the couch, not even on his phone

just zoning out

then he’d get up and decide to actually do something to fix this

this was your problem, together––it wasn’t going to solve itself

so he’d order your favorite food, wash his face to get rid of his red cheeks and teary eyes

and he’d get out some candles and set them up in your dining area, on the table to set a warm and cozy ambience

it’s only after the food arrives and after he sets everything up, plates and all that he goes to the bedroom

you were honestly in the same boat as bokuto, sitting in silence in your room. and you thought it would help to be alone, but if anything, you just really wanted to be with him, to fix this and move on. you wanted to see his bright eyes and smile again.

it must have been a little over an hour when you heard a knock on the bedroom door. you sat up and slowly made your way to the door, hesitating to actually open it.

“um...baby?” bokuto’s voice was small, not as cheerful as it usually was. “i...i’m really sorry that i let this get as far as it did.” you were about to disagree, reassure him that it wasn’t just his fault, but he went on. “i just really wanna see you? and maybe work through this?... i don’t wanna lose you.” his voice broke near the end and you felt your chest start to tighten up again.

“so when you’re ready, i’d really like for you to come out. but i won’t force you––i’ll um, i’ll be out here. i’m not going anywhere. i love you.” you heard his footsteps retreat down the hallway and took a deep breath, wanting to leave your room with your head as clear as it could be.

it only took you a few minutes to collect yourself and step out, but to bokuto it felt like forever. as soon as he heard the door open, he perked up and walked towards you slowly.

you almost teared up all over again at the sight in front of you. “kou...what’s all this?”

he was scratching the back of his head nervously as he stopped in front of you. “i just want you to feel comfortable with me again...wanna see you smile.”

you shook your head with a grateful smile that made his eyes widen, as you wrapped your arms around him. “all i need is you, kou.”

he sniffled and held you tight immediately. “i love you.”

“i love you too.”

tsukishima:

i feel like the reason your argument escalated with him is because he said something rude and shut you out

so he basically just insulted you or said something really stupid and literally walked away from you

and you know that tsuki tends to keep things in and shut people out

but it hurt a lot knowing that you weren’t an exception to those things

so you let him have his space

it wasn’t your fault so you weren’t going to apologize

you were waiting for your apology

and this boy was stubborn

he was frustrated that you still hadn’t talked to him, barely even looking at him even though you ate your meals together, slept in the same bed and everything

he would scowl at you, cause his face tends to do that (but u didn’t even see cause u weren’t looking at him)

but honestly he was upset

he didn’t mean to push you away, it just happened

and he feels like a real idiot (you would agree that he is one)

he doesn’t do anything big because if he were to go all out and then fail at making up w you... he’d be pretty embarrassed

so after a few days of the silent treatment, one afternoon he stops and stands at the end of the couch where you’re sitting and raises a brow

“so how much longer is this silence going to last exactly?”

...

yeah that didn’t help at all, you walked away immediately

after standing there like a fool for a bit, he decided he’d try again later

you were getting ready for bed when you heard tsuki walk in. you kept to yourself, not planning on even looking in his direction to be honest. and it’s only when you got into bed, you noticed him standing on the other side, scratching the back of his head nervously through your peripheral vision.

he cleared his throat quietly, “um. can i talk to you for a second?...you don’t have to say anything just...”

you didn’t say anything but you paused, letting him know that you were giving him your attention, your gaze focused on the comforter on your legs.

“i’m...i’m sorry, okay? really i...shouldn’t have said what i said. just please.” he sighed. “i know this is selfish but please don’t shut me out i––i can’t handle it.”

you looked up into his eyes for the first time in days and he honestly felt something bloom in his chest. you bit the inside of your cheek and pat the bed beside you twice, silently. he sat hesitantly and looked at you, his body stiff, nervous.

you opened your mouth and closed it a few times, unsure of what to say, despite having thought about it since the fight. “you just...i know that it’s hard for you to express how you’re feeling sometimes. but...you have to work on being open with me if we’re going to be in a relationship, okay? i’m not saying you have to change who you are, but we have to come to a compromise that doesn’t involve you putting up walls.”

he nodded. “i promise, i’ll try to be better for you.”

you gave him a small smile, “that’s all i want, kei.” you scooted next to him and he opened his arms, holding you tight when you kissed his cheek.

“i really am sorry.” he took a deep breath and settled back against the pillows with you in his arms. he knew for sure he wasn’t going to make the same mistake ever again.

when you moved from your home country [insert country] to japan, you were not prepared for the cultural differences

before you moved, you had practiced some Japanese so you could interact with the people around you, but the idea of people using honorifics on you was something you never imagined

cue you walking into nekoma high for your third year!

you already were familiar with the volleyball club and even managed for them

tough love style because serves can’t be flubbed and they cannot sacrifice the poor underclassmen

one day you were walking through the halls when you accidentally bumped into lev

he was all apologetic and started wildly gesturing before he said “sorry (f/n)-senpai! I never meant to bump into you!”

your composure

GONE

(hotel?) trivago (sorryyyy!!)

you were so flustered that you just nodded and ran the hell out of there (you go!!!)

lev reported this to the VBC at their usual practice and kuroo decided that the underclassmen should mess with their little foreign manager and call them (f/n)-senpai...for everything

and thus started....THE MANAGER GAME™

monday morning, all the first years were at the gate, ready to greet you (like they always did since they are sweethearts), except they were going to switch out the honorific

instead of the (-san) that they usually used they were going to use (-senpai)

so you were the unsuspecting victim and walked up to meet them and...

“good morning (f/n)-senpai!!”

you were all red and were gesturing to try to ask them what the hell they were doing when fukunaga walked up to the gates

and you thought “phew, at least fukunaga will probably be in his senses”

but instead, he waved at the first years and said “what are you waiting for (f/n)-senpai? class is going to start soon”

and he freaking WALKED AWAY WHAT

the first years and fukunaga laughed at your shyness as you waddled off to class

you thought practice was going to be better

OH HELL NO, IT WAS NOT BETTER

anytime the ball went out of bounds, or they needed a specific set of stats, kuroo would always send a first or second year

“hey, (f/n)-senpai, how do I have a stronger receive?”

“(f/n)-senpai, what do you think the correct angle is for a good spike?”

YOU. WERE. SO. FLUSTERED.

SO FLUSTERED THAT YOU STARTED SPEAKING IN [insert language of your country]

the VBC was laughing their head off

but you couldn’t help them or give them tips because of the seniority and respect you were being given

you were always fine with a (-san) or (-chan/-kun)

it was the final straw when kenma said “hey (f/n)-senpai, can you get kuroo to stop giving weird speeches?”

YOU EXPLODED (hinata style pftttt)

yaku had been observing (and kicking lev) for most of practice but he knew he needed to intervene or else they were going to virtually kill their manager

so in the typical yaku fashion

“YOU GUYS NEED TO CUT IT OUT! NOW!”

BONUS:

once you calmed down you put on your most evil smirk....and sentenced the underclassmen to an eternity of calling you (-senpai) >> the underclassmen were TERRIFIED because now if they called you anything but (-senpai) they’d have to do flying falls
