Summary: What if Loki was able to warn his past self, so he did not lose control during his regency and was able to act as he normally would? What if he had been able to remain calm and in control of himself, and the situation?

Summary: Loki was supposed to go back to Asgard to assume control of the throne after saving Thor on Svartalfheim. He was supposed to be the portent for Ragnarok...too bad fate didn't ask for his opinion. After all, fate didn't plan for Loki to find an abandoned baby elf. Nor did Loki plan to discover how intriguing Jane Foster can be. And what the heck do the Avengers and his trickster of a daughter have to do with any of this?

Loki makes a different choice. But can Loki truly escape the fate that has been his since the beginning? Can the trickster learn to love? Comic Todo List

So the sky is the limit now that I’ve got Marvel Unlimited access and I’ve maybe already bit off more than I can chew, but I wanted to go through the series I’ve added to my library on MU and state my interest in them so I don’t forget what I was thinking.

And to be clear, my attention span is super short right now since I just got the app. I like the idea of reading 500 xmen comics in a row…but not yet. So my balking point for issue counts is incredibly low right now but that will change after the first pass of reading a bunch of short series.

As promised for my 300 followers celebration, a list of all my active fics on Quotev! I think this is comprehensive. If there’s a fic that’s left off, that’s by accident. All of these are on my “published” list on Quotev.

For this story list, I’ll start with ones that already have links posted on here, then move to other lesser-known ones (below the cut). These are listed in no particular order at all.

Basic plot: Sequel “A” to Good to be Bad: A Disney Descendants Twisted Tale, this story focuses on Ben and Audrey’s adopted daughter, Sophie. When the terrible Horned King escapes the Isle of the Lost, Sophie sets out to protect her kingdom from any evil, no matter who it is.

Basic plot: The second of three books in my An Untold Story crossover between OUaT and Descendants, this book takes place between Season 3A and Season 3B of OUaT. Instead of going to the Land Without Magic, Emma and Henry come to Auradon to stay with King Adam, Rose, and the rest of their adoptive family. This book includes an adaptation of Rise of the Isle of the Lost and the first Descendants movie.

Basic plot: This four-part story encompasses the first Isle of the Lost book, the first Descendants movie, and the Return to the Isle of the Lost book, before departing into an OG fourth part. This is the story of Royal, Mal’s half-sister, in a version of Auradon where the Isle of the Lost wasn’t the first solution for working with the villains and history is a bit different.

Basic plot: Basically a crossover between Heroes and Villains and the world of Descendants 3 post-D3, Royal, Chloe, and Skalja, the Princess Trio, are tasked to save the kingdom from an unexpected enemy.

Basic plot: An adaptation of Return to the Isle of the Lost, featuring my OCs Lily and Balthazar, the children of Loki (from the MCU.) This isn’t an active story exactly, but it is the latest in the series while I’m planning out the next and final book.

Basic plot: In an OUAT-inspired story that combines OCs from various different stories, Ben awakens from a coma and discovers that his memories of Auradon were nothing but dreams. However, he soon learns that the world he’s in, Auradon City, is really his kingdom placed under a curse and controlled by Maleficent.

Top five favorite Marvel movies?

1) Infinity War - I will never forget watching that in the theater and the reactions of everyone after the snap. As each person started to fade away, it was incredible to experience that with everyone else in the theater. I remember after the movie I was giving my son a hug because he was sad. And this lady came over to console him a little, and it was so sweet. It was like we had all gone through something together, and we all hurt together. But it was okay...because we'd done it together.

2) Endgame - The Avengers Assemble scene was another one that was just incredible to have experienced in a theater with my kids. I grew up during a time when Batman Forever was the what my dad would've taken me to see. To be able to share something like THIS with my kids was amazing. Infinity War and Endgame were both two of the greatest movie-going experiences I've had in my life.

3) Thor Ragnarok - I laughed so hard during this movie. It was so entertaining. I LOVED it. And I loved the character development for Loki and the relationship development between Loki and Thor. The soundtrack was so much fun, and the action was great!

4) Iron Man - I have to give some love to the movie that kicked it all off. I knew from the moment Robert Downey Jr. was cast that he'd be an amazing Tony Stark, and I was not disappointed. I loved the character growth that he experienced in this movie. And at the time the special effects and everything were very exciting. Also, loved the soundtrack!

5) Ant-Man 2 - Okay so this might seem like a weird choice...But I love Ant Man. I loved that Ant Man 2 included the Wasp. Scott is doing everything he can to be an amazing dad. And I love how supportive his ex-wife and her new husband are of him and how their whole dynamic is. It just made me feel good watching it and happy on a lot of levels.

Honorable Mentions:

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 - Kudos for making me both laugh and cry. I loved this movie!!!!

Shang-Chi - So I saw this movie at the drive-in theater. And there were parts that were really hard for me to make out visually. BUT what I saw, I really really loved.

For anyone who watches and marvel and has watched infinity war and endgame, continue reading. This is a rant after watching both movies five times, but for now it’s just infinity war.

There is a lot of cursing, just a fair warning.

What in the tom fuckery is infinity war?

I watched Loki bite the dust in the first five minutes and i have an emotional attachment to him, so that sucked ass. The way he said ‘Loki, son of odin’ and looked at Thor screamed i’m about to die and i knew right away (he probs not dead tho, considering that slimey fucker has a show coming out)

Gamora didn’t deserve that bullshit, i hate the way she died because it had no honor. She was a warrior and got pushed off a cliff?! nah

Quill is number one fuck up for letting Gamora’s death mess up the plan. (that sounds so shitty, but like-)

Very jealous of Vision and Wanda’s relationship- i know i will be alone forever now.

the fact that doctor strange knew that Peter was going to snap and that's why he looked so sympathetic towards Tony made me want to slap him around.

When Vision said to Wanda: (ngl, i wanted to implode) “It shouldn’t have to be you, but it is” “You could never hurt me“ “We are out of time“ “It’s okay“ “I love you“

When Groot snapped away in front of Rocket and he just looked just as heartbroken as he did last time when Groot sacrificed himself in the first guardians of the galaxy.

guys I'll say this one and I don't take criticism, or anything bc I won't change my mind. But Wanda Maximoff is the most powerful being in the MCU that I know of. Let me expalin: like many other heroes in Marvel, she's got a lot, and seriously, A LOT of trauma that have characterized her and made her who she is,we know that right? so, my argument is: Wanda, even after all she's been through, after losing everything she held close to her heart was taken away from her, has managed not to only stay strong, but to show just how strong and how much she can do even at her worst. For example, after loosing Pietro, we can see how, when she had her breakdown while fighting, she kinda like, activated some type of power wave that destroyed all the robots around her (rrwatch that scene if you don't get what I mean). Then we have Inifnity war. My girl literally managed not only to stop/greatly slow Thanos from advancing while breaking a FUCKING INFINITY STONE while ALSO killing her love (and the last person that she held close to her heart), which caused her to literally have an emotional breakdown literally in the middle of all of this scene, and she managed to achieve that goal of sacrificing her love and break the Mind Stone before Thanos could get to it. and not to add that she had to Watch Visión die by both hers and Tganos' hands, since Tahnos sued the Time Stone to reverse time and all that (which FOEDNT INVALIDATE and all the fact that Wanda managed to successfully stop him and destroying the mind stone while having an emotional breakdown and experienced a traumatic event). Not only that, but, because of her emotional state, she managed to create her own fake/desired reality of a whole ass town (BEING FUCKING UNCONSCIOUS THAT SHE HERSELF DID IT, SHE HONESTLY DIDN'T KNOW WTF WAS GOING ON UNTILL LIKE, MID SEASON1). She also managed to fight an idk-how-old-but-surely-really-old witch that held a lot of knowledge about witchcraft (or well, the magic they possessed), more than heldef, who didn't even consider herself a witch, and come out victorious (and is currently learning from a surely-dangerous-that-contains-dark-spells spells book). what I mean to say is, Wanda, inher average, controlled emotional state, is very powerful itself, but when mixed with intense emotions she becomes a being so fesrfulling yet amazingly powerful.

Now, I'm sure many of you will come at me with soemthing about Thor or some other avenger. But let me argue with this: Wanda managed to unbalance Thor in AoU with her mind manipulation. Also, clearly has lost as much things as Wanda has, and I'm not trying to invalidate him, bc it's not about that, but he has something that she doesn't have: he has a new family, if I remember well after End Game he kinda joined (or went with) the Guardians of the Galaxy (but correct me if I'm wrong please). What I mean to say (regardless of who he ended up with), Thor was not left alone and found a place and people to be with. Meanwhile Wanda was all by herself: Steve: Dead. Natasha: Dead. Clint: unknown but surely being with his family and mourning Nat. Sam and Bucky (who were part of the CAP. Team so surely they must e bonded one way or another): not as close as the first three (I like to think she had a closer relationship with Nat and Clint, but still, even if that's not the case Clint had his own struggling and Idk why or how, but they separated paths, so that's that). She practically lost everyone who she held closest to her heart: Parents, Pietro, Vission, HER SONS! She was left to grief on her own with no one to reach to her, and while Thor has indeed lost the same things as her, he either already mourned them or (specifically in Loki's case) already knows how to deal with. But Wanda? no, she lost loved one after loved one. When she lost her parents, she only had her brother, and when she lost her brother she found love in Vision, died twice in a row (literally) in front of he, and after her fake/desired reality was broken because she unintentionally was hurting other and knew she had to stop, meanignt hat she didn't only had to let go of Vision, AGAIN, but also of her twin sons, of her PERFECT, HAPPY LIFE. Also, Thor is a God, so he obviously will be more powerful than mere humans, but that's the thing. For a simple human such as Wanda to be so fucking powerful, especially when her emotions are out of control (or even being aware of what she does), clesrly tells ME (and I enphasise in ME bc it's my opinion) that she is one of the lost powerful beings in the whole MCU (also, Thor missed killing Thanos the first time just bc he wanted to have some quick revenge talk, which was a mistake, and when he DID kill Thanos, it was never a real fight like in the end of Infinity War and End Game, so I wouldn't really count that. Meanwhile, I'm sure that Wanda wouldn't have hesitated even a bit, fuck revenge talk, decapitate the grape the moment the opportunity presents itself).

Also, if someone is going to mention Captain Marvel, my argument fort hat debate is that, as far as I know, CAP hasn't gone through the same thing as Wanda (unlike Thor), and her powers are always like, under control, because honestly, when you see when someone has true, strong power is when hey loose control of it (like when Wanda created her own fucking reality and mad eit what she wanted, which I really relate it with the Reality stone, but that's a talk for another day). What I mean to say is, Captain Marvel is strong, but when it comes to power, I honestly think Wanda has the upper hand 6and same with Thor, she's got the upper hand on both)

And this, people, is my analysis and explanation on why Wanda is the most powerful Avenger and character in the whole MCU (of what I've seen, since I havent like, watched or read ALL of what Marvel has). As I said, I take no criticism and I will not change my mind, also, this is MY PERSONAL OPINION, and I'm saying this bc I already see some ppl coming at me as I said the most insulting thing (everyone has opinions, and this is mine). So, all THAT being said, thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

Part 34 - The Infinity Stones

No one's POV...

They all stared at you, ready to listen and get teached. You sighed and called a window open. You opened a file with the name Infinity Stones. It opened 7 windows. 6 of them had one colored gem and the last window had a golden Gauntlet showing. You started after Laufey sat down on a chair to listen too.

"Interrupt me, if I forget something, Laufey."

He nodded. You took a deep breath.

"There exist 6 different, very powerful gems. They are called the Infinity Stones. Every gem has different powers and are very dangerous in their own way. The purple one is the Power Stone. Laufey, could you please show it, because Fandral looks on the complete false one.", I said.

He nodded, stood up and put his finger on the purple gem, which was at the very left.

He sat back again.

"Thank you Laufey."

"What can the Power Stone ?", Loki asked.

"The Power Stone carries enough power to wipe out a whole planet and has to be kept in an special container, because it is very powerful. If you aren't strong/ worthy enough, you explode into pieces. So...The carriers can use the gem to mow down entire civilizations like wheat in a field. Once, for a moment, a group was able to share the energy amongst themselves, but even they were quickly destroyed by it. And only beings of extraordinary strength can control it. A God or Jotun isn't enough there. So don't think of funny things with it."

Laufey nodded.

"She is right. Don't ever think that this thing is easy to control."

"Anyway ! The green gem is called the Time Stone."

"It can manipulate time to the users will. Fast, slow, rewind, you name it, the Time Stone can do it. Then we have an orange one... the Soul Stone..."

"No one knows what it can do exactly... All I know is that... it could prove to be the most powerful Infinity Stone of them all. Its powers, I believe, go from reviving the dead to stealing super powers. So...yeah...Fuck that shit I am out... The next gem is the Reality Stone."

"It's color is red. This one is a bit harder to describe, because all I know is this...with its powers affecting humans by essentially rotting them away. If the Reality Stone is with a powerful enough host, it can increase the host's strength and can help convert matter into dark matter. Better said...it can be a second Loki. It can turn a sharp dagger into a toy dagger, which isn't sharp at all. Then we go to the blue gem. This one is the Space Stone."

"It houses unlimited renewable energy. Bad news for oil companies, good news for evil guys. But it can be also good news for good guys. And lastly....the yellow one, which I don't want to talk about actually, because one of us came in contact with it already... The Mind Stone...."

"That thing got used as a brainwashing tool. And it's all it's good for.", you finished.

"How did they get created ?", the others asked, except Laufey.

"I think Laufey can explain that better than I.", you said.

He nodded, stood up and stood next to you. He started...

"As my father told me... It was told that six entities existed before the universe even came into being and, after the so called 'Big Bang', the entities transformed into the six Infinity Stones, one for every fundamental aspect of the universe. He also actually told me that they were called the Cosmic Entities, who created them."

"The Cosmic- what ?", Thor asked confused.

"The Cosmic Entities, you oaf.", Loki said interested to know more.

"Who were they ?", Thor asked again.

"If you could shut up he would tell us, you big silly oaf !", Loki snarled at him annoyed.

"Loki...", Frigga and you warned him.

He sighed.

"I am sorry. Can you please tell more ? Do you know more ?", he asked Laufey.

Laufey nodded and smiled. He turned to you.

"He really has some manners from me. That is definitely my son.", he said chuckling.

He turned back around and stared at Loki.

"All I know is that... The Cosmic Entities were a group of primordial cosmic beings responsible for the creation of the Infinity Stones. They were mysterious and powerful beyond mortal comprehension, existing as myths to the oldest species in the universe. Their names were...Death, Infinity, Eternity and Entropy. And, if the story is real, they even had their likenesses portrayed on the walls of the Temple Vault on a planet called Morag.", he told them.

"But there are 2 names missing...", Loki said.

"I know. It is just a story, Loki. Not everything is true. Remember that.", Laufey reminded him.

Loki nodded and looked down. Then something sparkled in his eyes, his head shot up again and he jumped in a standing position, shocked.

"Is Odin after these gems ?!", he yell-asked.

"Yes. Yes he is. But he doesn't know where they are hidden.", you answered slyly with a smug grin.

"And you know it ?", they all asked.

"Yes of course ! I am also after them ! I wanna kill someone with a whole army and then I want to destroy them !", you said.

"Who ?", Loki asked.

"You know who Loki. He hurt you and is now after you. They took you from me, now they will feel it much worse !"

"About who are you talking about ?", Laufey asked.

"I told you about them. Don't play dumb Laufey.", you said with anger in your voice.

"Oh...HIM..."

Loki froze up. He stared in shock and panic into nothing.

"Loki was there too ? Why didn't you safe my son ?!"

"Because they set traps everywhere ! That would have been suicide ! I had to wait for his return and hope to Odin, that Loki will survive this ! No one could see, smell, feel or even find him ! I told you everything once before !"

"Yeah...you did...I am sorry for yelling at you....", Laufey said with guilt.

Loki snapped out of his daze and stared at the window with the Golden Gauntlet. He cleared his throat and got your attention. He put his finger on it.

"What is this ?", he asked.

"This is a Golden Gauntlet, Loki. Made for the Infinity Stones, to control them. And guess where he let it made. Yes ! Nidavellir ! I bet that no one is still alive there. With the Stones I can bring them all back and kill HIM. Don't tell me, that you don't want to kill HIM for all of the pain and trouble he caused !"

"Wait ! It belongs to HIM already ?!", Laufey and Loki asked.

"Yes, but right now he doesn't do anything. He is waiting. When this last one fails...he goes searching them himself. I want them before he does. And Odin can't know it, because he is also after them."

"But you can't control them !", Loki yelled at you.

"I know that ! But he will find them otherwise ! I need to take them and hide them with my real self !"

Loki took a step back, tears near. Laufey was also and Frigga too. They knew what that meant for you. For them.

"Please...don't do that. Destiny please no... Don't do this to us. You will die !", Loki said crying now.

You smiled and grabbed his chin.

"How can I die, if I am not here myself ? You all forget that I am possessing a dead human body. My own is still hidden and he can't see us. He will never find out about it. And then we will plan on how to use them, without dying."

Realization hit Loki and he blushed. Hard. You laughed.

"You forgot. Right ?", you asked him.

"Yes I did...", Loki whispered.

"So...that's why you want to do it ? You aren't in your own body ? Wow...", Laufey was amazed.

You giggled.

"I will also have some help."

"Who will help you ?", Thor asked.

"You don't know them. The Guardians of the Galaxy. I know 2 people, which would love to help me."

Who are your top 5 mcu characters and top 5 star wars characters? I guess is may change sometimes, but for now. :)

oh goodness. this is an excellent question. I think it probably will change, especially for Star Wars as I continue my rereading of the old book series stuff, digging back in and what-not; but also for both as new things are released. (I’m now like ‘omg the whole of the Wandavision crew needs way more consideration for this top 5 list than I ever thought I’d give them what’.) Sorry it’s taken a couple days! This was hard.

Putting it under a cut for length:

MCU:

1. Sam Wilson. This was really hard to choose between all of Team Cap because I love them all equally, but out of the three Winter Soldier crew, I love Sam the best. ‘...if you eat that sort of thing’ ‘So do you like cats?’ ‘I hate you’ #iconic

2. Loki & Thor. Okay here’s where I cheat a little, because I couldn’t choose one and not the other.

3. Valkyrie. I just love her. (Debated putting Hela here instead, because I also love Hela in a similar but opposite way, if that makes sense?)

4. Nick Fury. Fine in Avengers, loved him after Winter Soldier, loved him even more after Captain Marvel stripped down his cool exterior and revealed him to be a bit of a dork who liked cats and was willing to help with the dishes. I hope we get to see more of him.

5. Wanda. Oh my God, Wandavision just came out of nowhere with the Wanda feels, didn’t it? I will say I was lukewarm-neutral on her, and then Wandavision recontextualized so much of her story and made me feel so much about her.

Honorable Mentions: all of the Guardians of the Galaxy because I couldn’t just pick one; Captain Marvel herself came close to getting Fury’s spot (’I have nothing to prove to you’ sobs); Vision was another surprise ‘oh no where did these feelings come from’ character post-Wandavision, (same with Darcy wth happened); Jimmy Woo should get his own series I will sign the petition

Star Wars:

1. Mace Windu. Okay this is an deep abiding love. How could I not love him when I was 10? The man had a purple lightsaber. (Purple was my favorite color, that was pretty much the extent of my character analysis back then.) This has only been confirmed as an adult by all of Shatterpoint. This is officially a Mace Windu appreciation blog.

2. Obi-Wan Kenobi. How can you not?

3. Qui-Gon Jinn. I left the fandom for like 20 years and came back and apparently he’s ~~problematic~~ and yes I will finally admit it, this is the character I’ve been vague-ing about the AO3 tags being a cesspool. He’s just such an interesting character...and that has apparently translated to ‘he’s the worst’ which okay thanks for letting me know I won’t like your fic but...man, the ‘Qui-Gon was literally the worst’ is suddenly everywhere and I’m confused. (again ‘suddenly’ I haven’t been super active in this fandom in a while, it might not have been sudden. Not quite 20 years but it’s been a while and I never noticed back then, idk if it’s a new development or just the product of me trying to sift through AO3 instead of relying on recs...anyway that’s my #confession for the day)

4. Cassian Andor. Okay partially for superficial reasons because Diego Luna is distractingly pretty. But I also love the more serious take on the rebel who knows that he has to get his hands dirty for the cause. He and Jyn’s embrace on the beach at the end is honestly one of my favorite Star Wars moments.

5. Din Djarin. He’s just a man trying to get an education for his son and know as little as possible about the plot of Star Wars, who accidentally ends up winning in battle the rulership of a planet he’s never seen. Poor man. He’s just doing his best. I can’t wait for next season.

Honorable Mentions: K-2SO was hilarious and the rest of the Rogue One crew should technically share the spot with Cassian but Diego Luna is just so pretty; the nanny/assassin droid that Taika Waititi played in The Mandalorian because I always surprise myself by crying when he sacrifices himself in the last episode; literally every female character because my list, like James Luceno, impressively does not pass the Bechdel Test (oof I’m aware, I get it, but I had to narrow this down to 5, and I’m sorry); special mention to Bo-Katan even though I’ve only seen two episodes with her in them (I didn’t, and honestly probably won’t, watch The Clone Wars) but also I might just have a crush on Katee Sackhoff...

Narrowing these down to 5 was super hard, this was quite the challenge, and I only cheated a little there, thank you anon. Sorry it’s taken me a couple days! This was hard! XD And I’m sure it will be updated as things progress with the Marvel series coming out. Also I just got a PS4 and Jedi Fallen Order from my brother in the mail, yes I did have him ship his old PS4 across a closed international border so I could play Fallen Order (and also nothing else is giving me serotonin any more and the internet suggests trying something novel to get the serotonin molecules boogieing, so let’s see if my video game redemption arc is a go).

Scrapbook 2021 | Part II

For anyone that’s new to this, this is how I keep track of all of the things I enjoy and/or create throughout the year. I have literally been doing this since I had a livejournal. I think the first one was 2011? Maybe? In which case, woohoo, ten years of scrapbooking!

tales of suspense (1963) – a classic. 100/10. would read several times

iron man vol 1 (1968) – i’m on, like, issue 20 out of 300 something but it’s also very very good! the drama..the action……..wig

iron man vol 3 (1998) – obv i know youve read this one anon but for anyone out there starting comics this one’s SUPER good, and also Love Is Stored In The Tonyru

iron man vol 4 (2005) – listen this comic. so great, so iconic. maya hansen! epic fights! director stark! good art except for, like, the 6 issues of execute program but execute program is such a good story arc that you wont even notice!

iron man noir (2010) – INDIANA JONES AU TONY STARK, LITERALLY THE BEST CONCEPT MARVEL’S COME UP WITH. PEAK COMICS IRONFAM

iron man legacy (2010) – i enjoyed this one a lot! i’m kind of confused as to, like, what’s going on but it’s fun

iron man fatal frontier (2013) – tony becomes governor of the moon and fights doom! also he takes down an ai with weaponized fanfiction somewhere in there. read this one with a .cbr reader

invincible iron man vol 2 (2015) – gonna maybe fuck around and rec bendis’ entire iron man run bc . the art is gorgeous and the story isn’t the strongest but tony’s characterization is v good

avengers vol 4 (2010) – this comic is SUPER fun. after the fear itself tie ins the art and story get pretty eugh though so be careful

fear itself (2012) – BEST BEST BEST!!! my favorite crossover event in comics, with cool art and a badass storyline

captain marvel vol 4 (2012) – can we get a yeehaw for CAROL DANVERS . hell yeah. this is her first run with the name captain marvel and it’s Very Good

avengers: the enemy within (2014) – captain marvel vol 4 ends on a cliffhanger and the storyline’s capped off here

avengers vol 5 (2013) – ok so *clown noises* i haven’t exactly finished it but…this is the One Was Life The Other Was Death comic and it’s super good from what ive read so far

hawkeye (2013) – matt fraction’s run! everyone and their dog wants you to read it and you absolutely should if you have not. not too sure abt the volume numbering but heres a link to download in TPBs, it’s volumes 1-4

captain marvel vol 5 (2014) – this is the volume featuring chewie (!!) and carol in outer space with the guardians of the galaxy (!!!). super fun in general, would read again

the unbelievable gwenpool (2016) – oh god oh fuck it’s miss GWEN POOLE . this comic is super funny and also surprisingly heartfelt, plus the art is . mmm.

champions (2016) – the gen z superhero team, i love all of them so much. i can almost forgive marvel for ending anad avengers

hunt for wolverine: adamantium agenda (2018) – so this is, after 11 goddamn years, closure for the first civil war regarding tony and the new avengers that sided with steve. amazing.

the life of captain marvel (2018) – the carol origin retcon is…eh. but it’s still very good! think of it as carol’s international iron man

avengers: back to basics (2018) – kamala goes back in time and accidentally reveals tony’s secret identity and it’s the funniest fucking thing

captain marvel (2019) – the first issue is everyone bullying tony which sucks but DONT LET THAT GET YOU DOWN bc it’s, like, actually good and also tony appears more in later issues without getting bullied

war of realms (2019) – i guess it’s a marvel rule that all crossover comics having to do with asgard are Top Notch? anyway

loki (2019) – AMAZING loki shenanigans and also the REAL reason you needed to read war of realms tbh

ironheart (2019) – gosh i love riri williams so much she’s so GREAT and you should DEFINITELY READ THIS

QUESTIONABLE™:

invincible iron man vol 1 (2008) – matt fraction’s iron man run…it’s ..ok story wise? however the characterization is a lil off at times and the art is HORRIBLE

iron man vol 5 (2013) – ok so this comic is super weird ? because it’s nice that tony spends time out in space but also it confirms that he’s a furry apparently. pretty much the only truly average iron man comic

avengers vol 8 (2018) – okay so i really like the art and the story’s okay but there’s a bit where tony flirts w carol and it’s the most ooc thing ive ever seen and that’s enough to land it in the questionable category

tony stark: iron man (2018) – i debated over whether to put this here or in the Bad™ category BUT valerio schiti’s art is too beautiful and the rhodeytony content fuels me. also issues 12 and 13 (war of realms) written by gail simone are pretty good. unfortunately dan slott wrote the rest and it AINT IT CHIEF

gwenpool strikes back (2019) – it starts off strong in the first issue but goes downhill from there and tbh it’s not really respectful of the previous gwenpool run

magnificent ms marvel (2019) – ok listen i love kamala a lot but if theres gonna be a romance plot between her and bruno it’s the electric chair

iron man vol 2 (1996) – just. don’t touch this. it’s a hot mess

civil war (2006) – i hate this. so much. it’s unreal. all you need to know is that steve was real close to killing tony in the end but surrendered when he saw that he no longer had the moral high ground. and also steve got assassinated right before he was going to be put on trial

mighty avengers (2007) – this comic had the potential to be SO good. unfortunately the artists for the actual avengers issues don’t respect women at all

superior iron man (2015) – they made tony evil and i could not be more angry with it. who even fucking wants to read this theres not even any emotional payoff for any of this

civil war ii (2016) – i would hit this stupid comic in the knees if i could. there is not a single c*vil w*r with rights. all you need to know is that carol put tony into a coma and it’s super ooc

iron man 2020 (2020) – listen i know this comic hasn’t come out yet but it has all the ingredients to be EVEN WORSE than superior iron man which is saying a lot.

Thor is gone with the guardians of the galaxy.

Tony has died and Thanos is gone.

Natasha risk her life to get the stone.

Clint is back with his family after five painful years.

Vision died protecting the soul stone.

Bruce turned into the Hulk and combined both into one.

Scott and Hope became together and reunited with his daughter.

Steve went back in time to return all the infinity stones and retired been captain America.

Wanda is heartbroken at the lost of Vision and her brother.

Sam is the new Captain America.

Bucky is fighting alongside Sam.

T'challa is back in Wakanda ruling his country with his people.

Peter is living his life and protecting the city as Spider Man.

Happy is helping Peter just the way Tony would have wanted to. But Peter is has gained a new ally.

Doctor Strange is back in New York keeping the Time stone safe and Wong is by his side.

Pepper is raising Morgan with the help of the remaining team and me her step son.

Valkyrie is the new queen of New Asgard.

And I've become the new Iron Man of New York.

To say it simply, everyone is still broken inside. No matter how much times passes we will never forget everything that's happened.

These events didn't happen in that order but it's what I was told when I had return back to New York. I was only seventeen years old when the world when in chaos. Now as I return i'm a twenty one year old who's found out about his father's death and the marriage with his new wife who had given me a little sister.

Dad wanted me out of the country and didn't want my life to be in danger for been Tony Stark's son. So I study abroad in Australia until I graduated from high school and somewhat graduated from college. When the snap happened I was given orders to stay put and not come back. So Happy flew to me in Australia to keep me company and out of trouble even though I wasn't a trouble maker. But, dad still wanted me to be safe. So when I found out about dad and Pepper having Morgan I was too busy to meet her. Over the course of five years, I was away in Australia trying to live a normal life again. It wasn't easy seen so many people disappear and turn into dust. Half of Australia was gone and things weren't how it used to be. I didn't even know either about my own dad been lost in space for weeks. I had to push through college with the rest of the college kids to continue our studies the best we all could do.

I continued to keep in contact with dad and Pepper but never got a chance to meet Morgan in face only through pictures. But one day Pepper informed me about how dad and what had been left of the team were going to bring everyone back using time travel and that I had nothing to worried about. That same day when I got the call from Pepper it was early morning here when people had suddenly begun to reappear. From that moment on I had known everything must have been fine. But, deep inside me a sudden feeling of sadness suddenly hit me. While everyone was happy to be reunited again I was inside my house crying.

"You're father is dead." I could still hear those words echo inside my head to this day. Pepper had called Happy that morning when the fight against Thanos took place back in their compound. While everyone around me celebrated the coming back of their love ones. I had lost the person I most cared about. I couldn't be happy for anyone at least not at that moment.

A few hours later here I am now standing in front of the cabinet in the middle of the woods wearing a black suit. I had wore my dad's watch and upgraded thanks to Happy's help. It was the one that armed one of his first suits but into a more modern kind. I also wore a pair of old black glasses that dad had given me when I left for Australia. I took a deep breath before I continued to make my way towards the cabinet to see everyone from the team and others were standing there watching as Pepper and Morgan with Steve walked towards the pond carrying the arc reactor Pepper gave my dad.

In that instant, the only thing I wanted to do was yell and scream at the top of my lungs. But instead, I stood all the way in the back of the cabinet listening to the funeral and ceremony. Happy had gone with Pepper and Morgan to drop off the arc reactor on top of a big flower crown. I stood on the side with my back on the wall with arms crossed and head low.

"Come on, [Male Name] you have to eat your vegetables." I was five years old at the moment. Dad was alone in the Stark Tower and it was dinner time. But I didn't want to eat the vegetables on my plate. I frowned shaking my head and crossing my small arms.

"No, I hate vegetables! They taste bad! I want candy and donuts! My friends eat that every day so I want that too!" I yelled.

Dad was not having it that day. He had been up all night the day before fixing his suits and was not happy about dealing with a screaming five year old. "Come on, squirt eat the vegetables they are good for you." He tried feeding me with his finger.

"No daddy, I don't want to turn green like the hulk. Thor told me I will turn green from eating too many broccolis." I yelled in tears taking off running away from him.

"Dammit Thor.. [Male Reader] come back! You won't turn green if you eat them!" That night I couldn't stop crying. It was silly but at the age of five you tend to believe everything adults tell you. So the only way I stopped crying was when he brought me some donuts with chocolate milk to eat for dinner.

The next day when Thor was in the tower my dad had been rough on him even got yank by the ear and had made him apologize to me. "I'm so sorry young [Male Name] I should have never told you such lies. In fact, if you eat all of your vegetables everyday you will grow up to become strong and handsome like me." I giggled hugging him and dad.

"I want to become like you and daddy!" From that day forward I always ate my vegetables but as I grew up. I knew that I was never going to become like them. But even so, I enjoyed eating them.

Listening to my father's memorial continued to bring more and more memories. All the moments we both shared together from the fights we had because of his work and health. There was this one time when Pepper had to bring him home drunk from one of his party's. I was about ten years old the first time I had talked back to him.

It was way before my dad realized he loved my father and began to date. I still remember clearly when it happened. The day of the party was during a school night. He had promised me early in the morning before school about spending the day together before his party. But dad didn't keep his promise instead he sent Happy for me that day to school. "Dad, can we go eat a cheeseburger after school. They have new fries that are coming out today. Can we please go!" I beg him hugging his leg.

Dad played with my hair picking me up. "Of course squirt, now come on you can't be late for school." Dad hurried me into the car. But before I got inside I took out my pinky looking straight at him. "Dad promise me you will take me after school." I said seriously.

Dad bends down to my height intertwining his pinky with mine. "I promise squirt." The whole day in school I couldn't stop thinking of spending the afternoon with him. I was in such a good mood that day that, I didn't mind getting a big project that day.

But, boy was I wrong. That afternoon when Happy had picked me up from school. I was upset and angry at them both because Happy did not want to take me to eat a burger that day. So I didn't get to try the new fries with a cheeseburger that day. Happy said dad was in a meeting all day and wasn't coming home till night time because of the party he was having that night. I had to spend the whole day with Happy. Whenever I would stay with him it was always fun but that day I wasn't in the mood for anything. It wasn't until around eight at night when Steve had picked me up from Happy's.

"Goodnight [Male Name]." I turn around not wanting to see his face anymore and buried my face in Steve's shoulder. Steve patted my back and carried my backpack and jacket. "Goodnight Happy come on, let's get going." I got inside Steve's car and road all the way home in silence except for the radio that was playing old music.

On the way home I decided to break the silence." Steve, why do you listen to music from the old days?" I asked sitting in the back seat looking out the window.

"Well.... because I was born back in the old day but got frozen for many years. So this music reminds me of the good old days I once used to live."

"I see..... Steve if you had a son about my age would you break a pinky promise and disappoint your only son?" I asked looking at him.

Steve got taken back by the sudden question taking a few seconds to respond back. "Of course, I wouldn't sport if I had a son your age I would never break a promise especially a pinky promise. Those are extremely important and must not be broken. But you have to understand that your dad is Iron Man so he has a big responsibility with the community and needs to attend events. But that doesn't mean he does not care about you [Male Reader]."

I frowned in silence thinking about what he had just said. After we arrived at the Tower that night Steve helped me changed into my pajamas and checked my teeth for cavities. Steve had tucked me in bed and read me a bedtime story so I could fall asleep while dad was gone. He even stook around a few minutes until I fell asleep which unfortunately lasted only about three hours. It was around past midnight when I heard sounds coming from downstairs.

"JARVIS who's downstairs," I whispered half asleep to him.

"It appears to be Mr. Stark and Miss Potts who have arrived at the Tower. Would you like me to inform them about you waking up?"

I shook my head. "No, don't tell them anything." I yawned laying back to sleep but the bit of anger I still had kept me awake. Hearing noises still coming from downstairs I decided to confront my dad about today.

I got up from my bed running towards my bedroom door and quietly closed the door behind me and ran quietly through the hallways until I reached the elevator. Once the elevators door opened I went inside and pressed the button for downstairs and patiently waited. As the doors open my dad and Pepper appear before my eyes. Both were wearing fancy clothing. But as I took a look at my dad I could tell he was very drunk. I could smell the odor from all the alcohol he's drank all night.

"Is this the example you give me?" I yelled at him. He was caught off guard smiling big when he saw me walking towards their direction. Dad walked over to me embracing me into a hug. I quickly escaped from been hug and ran behind Pepper. "Hey, bud what you doing up so late huh? Where you waiting for me all night to get home." He said.

I continued to his behind Pepper. "Of course not dad, i'm angry at you because you didn't pick me up from school. You broke your pinky promise!" I said pointing a finger at him.

"Don't be so harsh on me [Male Name] you are hurting my feelings.... I know tomorrow I will buy you anything you want. How does that sound? Better yet, no school for you tomorrow."

"Tony! You can't do that what kind of example are you giving him. Please, don't listen to anything of this tomorrow I will take you to the burger place we can both go together."

"Thank you, Pepper you are the best. Dad, I hate you! I don't want to live with you anymore!" I yelled running towards the elevator. Dad called my name but I didn't want to hear anything from him. That night I had sneaked into Natasha's room to sleep in. I quietly opened her room and snuggled with her in the giant bed she had. The next morning she was surprised to see me fall asleep in her bed.

Nat didn't question why I had barged into her room until the next morning. I had explained everything that happened and how I didn't want to sleep alone in my room by myself. She was so kind that Nat helped me get ready for school and was going to talk to my dad about the argument from last night.

In the morning after getting ready Pepper had arrived early to take me to school because I didn't want to see Happy either. "Behave good in school I will be here waiting for you to pick you up so we can go eat together."

I hugged her feeling better. "Okay, I promise to come out super fast so we can go eat and play all day." I ran away from her waving goodbye as I walked inside the school. Later that day, when I came out of school I didn't see Pepper anywhere. I looked everywhere in the school entrance but she wasn't here. Until, a few minutes later when dad came to the front gate running towards me. I was feeling confused about why he was picking me up instead of Pepper like she promise she would.

"Why are you here? Where's Pepper she promise she would pick me up." I half yell feeling angry again.

"Pepper's here squirt she's waiting in the car with Happy. I came with her so we can both take you to eat burgers." He said ruffling my hair. I removed his hand from my head frowning.

"I don't want to go anymore, I want to go home." I turned around facing him with my back and arms crossed feeling angry.

Dad didn't say anything but instead carried me on his back taking off running to the car. He hadn't carried me like this since I was five years old. So all the anger went away and instead giggles came out of my mouth. That day was the happiest day of my life. He spoiled me and bought me everything I wanted including take out food for dinner. And all of the deserts I wanted to eat but it was a bad idea to get everything off the menu. Pepper had lectured him for spoiling me and the big stomach ache I have gotten. But it was all worth it because I had gotten to spend the whole day with the people I love in this world.

I hadn't noticed that the ceremony was done until I felt my pants been tug by a small hand. That's when I realized I had tears running down my face. But, it was barely seen by others because of the black shades I was wearing. I looked down and saw it was Morgan wearing a black dress with her hair down looking up at me. As I looked down my glance had suddenly drifted to the lake but I saw everyone looking my way with sad eyes. Pepper was the first to speed walk my way. I looked down at Morgan and carried her in my arms meeting Pepper halfway. We embraced each other along with Morgan. Pepper looked at me with sad eyes and a small smile. "I'm so sorry you couldn't see him alive again."

"Nonsense, there's no need of apologizing. I was able to talk with him the day of their plan to bring everyone back. He told me there would be a chance that something would happen. So I understood that it was possible something bad would have happened to him and he was right." I said hugging Pepper again. "I promise to take care of you and Morgan." I gave each a kiss and wiped her tears away with my thumb. I hugged both one more time before walking away. But Pepper had given me directions of something dad left me to see.

We stood for a few minutes like that until slowly the team was coming forward one by one giving me their support and apologizes for what happened. As I talked with everyone Morgan went with Happy on the porch. I have to admit been surrounded by the team and new recruits made me feel home. I got to meet the guardians of the galaxy, Doctor Strange, Scott Lang, and his team. I was finally able to meet Peter Parker and his aunt. Furry and Maria where here as well. I was finally able to see Bruce again but turned into the Hulk. I saw the damaged on his arm from using the gauntlet that brought everyone back. I saw Clint and finally met his three children and wife. I also met Bucky and Wanda who had joined the team. The king of Wakanda with his mother and sister were here too. Everyone in the team was shocked at how grown i've looked. The last time they saw me I was sixteen and now that i'm twenty one they were shocked at how much I have changed.

When I met Peter Parker he's reaction was something I was not expecting. The moment I introduced myself to him Peter almost fell down on the ground if it wasn't for his aunt's help. "Are, you alright?" I asked concerned.

Peter nodded. I offered my hand towards him too shake. As we shook hands he couldn't help but stare at me. As if he has seen a ghost or something worse. "Yeah..... yeah, I'm fine it's just.... you look a lot like Mr. Stark."

I half smiled at him. "You think so, my dad told me a lot about you, Peter. I know you spent a lot of time together with my dad... I have to admit I was a bit jealous always hearing about you." Peter frowned confused and guilty. "Wait before you ask anything let me finish what I want to say. I did get jealous of you because all I heard was Peter this, Spiderman that but either way, i'm grateful for everything you did. I know you and I aren't related but now that I have a family to protect. There's a lot of things I need to learn so maybe if you help me train I can help you with making new suits and gadgets. Peter and his aunt both looked at one another then back at me accepting my offer. "Yes! I- I mean of course I accept your offer."

"Great. I'll contact you so wait for my call." I patted his back making way towards the cabinet seen Morgan sitting down next to Happy. I passed by them ruffling her hair before opening the door and shutting it behind me. I took a look around at my surroundings before I seeing my dad's helmet sit in a small table. I finally took the decision of taking off the sunglasses. I walked towards the helmet carrying it in my hands. I took a seat on the couch with both hands wrapped around the helmet.

There was a small button on the back of the helmet. Pepper said to push on it so that the recording of him could play. I took a deep breath before pressing the button and set it back down on the small table. A sudden blue light appeared and so did dad. He was sitting down on a chair before standing up walking in front of me. "Dad." I whispered watching his every move.

[Play the music]

"I know that by now you must be seeing this and probably blaming yourself for what happened to me. But, I should be the one blaming myself for sending you away to the other side of the world. I still remember the day you were born. I was a mess when your mother told me she was pregnant with you. I was also nervous when Pepper told me she was pregnant with Morgan. Becoming a father is easy enough, but being one can be very rough. Fathers provide not only support but also encouragement words to their children. Now, that i'm gone your sister and Peter will need someone to guide them. I know you're only twenty one but and it's a lot to handle but please look after them. You are my son that to my father I could never be. My father didn't tell me how to live, he lived and let me watch him do it. I promise myself never to become the type of father he was.

"Dad you're someone to look up to no matter how tall i've grown. I won't let her forget about you never."Tears began to fall down my cheeks.

"I want you to forgive me for leaving and not being able to be there for you when and if you need me, but I want you to know one thing above all else. I love you so much that I can't describe the feelings that I'm going through." I want you to grow up into a young man and be a success at whatever you attempt to do. The time that I did spend with you was a wonderful and enjoyable time in my life and you helped make it that way. This is very hard for me to say because I kept crying every time I tried to record this, knowing that I will not be here when you are seeing this. The sadness keeps overwhelming me and tears are flowing down my face. I'm so very proud of you and you have shown me just how smart you are all ready. I expect you to grow and be able to use your head to think things out and to be able to ask questions if you don't understand something. I want you to face life and the problems that it gives you a positive outlook because if you think of the bright things in life, it makes the bad things not so bad after all! You are a beautiful and smart boy and I wish you all the luck and good fortune a person could ever want or need. I left you all of my suits and tools in the garage. Use those to protect this city but, more importantly, use them to protect Pepper and your sister."

"I love you 3000."

Dad smiled one last time until the image disappeared. I clenched my hands in disperse the black sunglasses rested in my left hand. I could see my reflection through the black lenses. My eyes were filled with watery eyes puffy and red from all the crying i've done just listening to his message. I looked down at the old watch on my wrist. I stood up from the couch and walked over to the window taking a look outside. I wiped the tears away from eyes and put back on my glasses. Seen everyone still sticking around with sad faces in the cabinet gave me an idea. I smiled for the first time in days looking up at the ceiling nodding to myself. "I know what to do."

After a few minutes of staying in silence, I took the decision of walking outside with them. I quietly opened the door walking out in silence. Happy and Morgan were no longer by the porch. I took a deep breath before making the decision to speak in a loud voice. "I know this is going to sound crazy coming from a twenty one year old who's now old enough to drink." Everyone stopped what they were doing and listened. "But my goal doesn't stop for anyone. Either you support me or I make it happen alone. Either way, it is going to happen. Those were my father's words, and I couldn't help but remember them this very second. The reason why I remember those words is because it was the last thing he told me over the phone. I didn't have a clue on what he meant but now I do." I said looking at everyone. My tone went from friendly to serious. "My father ended his life for the sake of this planet I, won't let his sacrifice be in vain. I thought this through and will keep the promise he asked me to keep. Ladies and gentlemen, you are all looking at the new Iron Man. This planet will never and I say NEVER will have another life be lost. This place will never be invaded by another villain ever. Because as long as i'm around there won't be any more deaths. I'm not only representing my father in his honor, but im also here representing Natasha, Vision, and Loki." I said proudly hugging Pepper and carrying Morgan on my shoulders. I could see the proud faces of Steve, Thor, Clint, Wanda, Rhodey, Bruce, Happy, Furry, and Pepper. I looked over to Peter who watched quietly. "The scared twenty one year you saw earlier today is gone. Whoever wants to join my team and I is welcome to participate. But from now on there won't be any more pain or suffering."

"[Male Reader] your dad would be so proud of you." Steve said sending a nod at me.

"Where ever they are I'm sure they're all proud of you." Wanda said.

"I made a promise to take care of my family. And that includes everyone here I know with their help from up there we will be fine. Now with both of my parents up there together I know for a fact they won't let anything bad happen to me or to everyone close to me." I answered truthfully. I placed Morgan back on the ground handed her my dad's sunglasses and step away far from them. I clicked on the button of the watch activating the black and gold suit of armor I had created back in Australia. It was a replica of my dad's suit he used back in 2015 except with a new model and color. It had both names of my parents carved in with black ink on the back of the helmet. The suit unfolded it's self as I flew a few feet off the ground. I pressed a button on the left corner of the helmet so the helmet could open revealing my face and stared down at everyone from above.

I looked everywhere smirking until my eyes landed on Peter." This is your chance, Peter let's go there's stuff you need to learn." I said rising up to the sky. Peter looked at his aunt. "Can I go, I won't be home late."

His aunt May push the excited fifteen year old. Surprisingly Peter was wearing his Spider Man suit under his black suit. Peter took off running my direction revealing his suit and mask. "Be careful Peter, bring him back safe [Male Reader]" Aunt May yelled.

"I will May! Anyone else wants to join us? I have room for more if anyone is up for it. Rhodey, Thor, Guardians of the galaxy, Doctor Strange? I know about your power." I flew further into the sky as Peter swings on his spider webs. I pressed the button again closing the helmet.

This brought smiles to everyone. "You're crazy Stark." Thor yelled.

"Just be careful come back safe you here me." Pepper yelled. "How are you even flying that thing." She asked carrying Morgan in her arms.

"We'll be careful, A Stark never reveals his secrets. Morgan, I'll bring you tons of cheeseburgers for dinner!" I smiled under my helmet waving goodbye to everyone. "Let's go, Parker!"

"I'm right behind you Mr. Stark I mean [Male Name].... you have a nice name sir." As we flew further away from the forest and into the sky I couldn't help but see my father smiling down at us.

"Thanks, Peter but, just call me [Male Name]."

Summary: You’ve lost all your family and most friends in The Decimation. Refusing to believe their deaths are permanent, you dedicate years to find a way to reverse it. Upon finding something that might help, you search for the Avengers’ help. It’s Steve Rogers x Reader, but in reality it’s mostly Badass!Reader. Also, Non-American!Reader

Previously (summary): Y/N gets captured by Thanos. After Bruce reversed the Snap, all the Avengers set course to 2014 to rescue Y/N, who had already fled to Asgard, thanks to 2014 Gamora and Nebula’s efforts. Steve realizes he’s in love with Y/N and is desperate to get her back safe and sound.

Part Eight

You woke up to see... Nebula?

She wasn’t an exact clone of the one you knew, which meant you were still in 2014. Beside her, a green humanoid female stood. You remembered seeing her frame in Nebula’s transmission, so she must be Gamora.

You were tied down, arms and legs, and gagged. The room around you was purple and black, and cold. You looked down to see your damaged timer still there.

“Thanos ordered us to... interrogate you”, Gamora began. “And we will... but we have a proposal first.”

2014 Nebula spoke. “First, you have to promise you won’t scream.” You nodded. Of course you weren’t going to scream, and Gamora’s words and body language indicated that whatever proposal she had in mind could truly benefit you. Nebula took your gag off. “The Nebula you were with... she betrayed Thanos before his death, didn’t she?”

You nodded. “I don’t know all the details, but I know she had already turned on him before the Decimation.” At Gamora’s frown, you proceeded, “It’s what we call the event in which Thanos killed half of the universe’s living beings. He was killed soon after, and my Nebula was the one to give his location away. Willingly.”

The two sister exchanged glances. “Where am I?”, Gamora asked. “In your future?”

You bit your lip. “Dead. Thanos sacrificed you for the Soul Stone.” You weren’t completely sure of it, but you firmly believed that theory. And Thanos did kill Gamora, whatever his reason had been.

“Is there any way this can be changed?” Past Nebula asked in a tone that reminded you of the one you sent back to 2021. You let a half-smile slip.

“This is... an alternate universe. Not mine. Whatever we do here won’t affect my present, only your own future. We... have our reasons to be here, reasons I’d rather not say in this ship.”

“We have a suspicion”, Gamora replied, “but you have a right not to confirm it. What is your name?” You told her. “So, Y/N, here’s the deal: you tell us all you know about our future and how we escaped Thanos’ grasp, and in exchange we will aid your escape. No one can watch or hear us in this room; we’re safe.”

“We have no intention of seeing Thanos’ plan through”, Nebula added. “He wants to repair your watch and send us to your year. We know it’ll only lead to destruction.”

You suspected their determination to sabotage Thanos was strengthened after you told them of Gamora’s death, but you didn’t question anything. You simply nodded. “What else do you want to know?”

Their interrogation lasted shorter than you expected. You told them what little you knew about Gamora’s last four years of life, especially about the Guardians of the Galaxy, and about the Soul Stone.

Gamora’s final question was, “Are your companions coming to get you?”

You shrugged. “My Nebula wanted to, and I think the rest would like to come back as well. I’m not sure if they will able to, though.” You remembered Stark saying that they had a limited supply of Pym Particles, which was why it was so important they got all the Stones at first try. You didn’t know if there were enough of them to make another trip.

Besides, this was an alternate timeline. It was possible that, if they tried to go back to 2014 again, they’d just end up in another 2014, in which you and Nebula hadn’t arrived at. You hoped it wasn’t the case.

“Regardless”, Nebula said, “we can’t let you stay here for long. Sooner or later Thanos will find out we didn’t do what he told us to do, and it’s best if you are already out of this ship by then.”

“We have untraceable escape pods, don’t we?”, Gamora asked her sister. At the later’s nod, she said, “Then we’ll put you on one to a place where your watch can be fixed and you can safely go back to your own time, without our father breathing on your neck.” She then knelt and untied your legs. “We’ll keep your arms tied for now, in case we are seen.”

You nodded. “Can I go to Asgard?”, you asked as you stood up.

Gamora frowned. “I thought you’d want to go to Earth. Wasn’t you watch built there?”

“Yes, but in years from now. I don’t know if my companions have the resources required to repair it today. Besides, there is another me there at the moment. I don’t want to draw attention.”

“Someone from Earth in Asgard is bound to draw attention”, Nebula said.

“If I recall correctly, it wouldn’t be the first time.” Thor’s story left unclear if Jane Foster had been on Asgard while possessed by the Reality Stone, but where else would they have been able to remove it?

“Then we’ll program the pod to take you there”, she replied with a nod. Then Gamora unlocked the door and grabbed you by the arm. “Act as a prisoner”, she whispered. You tensed, and it wasn’t all acting.

For a moment, you wondered if the two hadn’t lured you into a trap. You were completely at their mercy, and your timer could be easily snatched away. Nebula’s and Rocket’s stories let you think that both sisters were already thinking about deflecting in 2014, but what if they hadn’t yet?

They didn’t ask a single thing that could actually help them on repairing your timer, but maybe they had already figured out a way to travel in time while you were unconscious. How, you couldn’t imagine, but it was possible. If that was the case, they were simply trying to discover what was waiting for them in 2021 to go more prepared, and now that they were done with you, you’d be killed.

You mentally revised what you told them. There was next to no information on anyone aside from the Guardians, and since you barely knew them, there wasn’t much to tell. But... oh no. You said your ‘companions’ could come to your rescue.

It meant more timers to steal and figure out its use. Timers that didn’t require repairs. If your fears were true, you truly would be better off killed for them.

Was that it? Were they taking you to your freedom, or to your death?

Consumed as you were by your thoughts, you didn’t notice you three had been caught until a couple aliens started shooting. Gamora quickly led you to another corridor, while Nebula stayed behind. “What...?”

“Don’t look back, just come!”, Gamora whispered-shouted as you two ran. Eventually you arrived in a section full of tiny ships. More slowly this time, the green woman inspected each ship carefully. “Here”, she finally said. “This one.” She opened it and untied your arms. Then she typed a few things you didn’t understand. “It’s on autopilot, so you won’t have to do anything. Let’s just hope no one will get in your way. Farewell, Y/N. Stay safe.”

“You too”, you replied. “Thank you for everything.”

She gave you a small smile. “You’re welcome. Goodbye.”

Then, she closed the ship, and it landed off.

Thanks to the multiple space jumps at light speed, you ended passing out, and you had no idea how much time had passed when you arrived at Asgard. It was pure luck that you managed to wake up in time to see the flat planet from above.

It was one of the most beautiful things you had ever seen, but you barely had time to admire it, as the pod landed fast on a bridge.

As you got out of the pod, a man ran to you. “I’ll have to take you to Allfather”, he announced.

“Oh, great”, you said. “He’s the one I’d like to talk to.”

As the man led you inside the huge castle, you tried to remember how Loki looked like. Thor said his friend Sif had disclosed the location of the Reality Stone only to Loki, so you guessed he must have been the king at the time it happened. Also, he said Loki retrieved the Tesseract upon escaping 2017 Asgard. How else would he know where it was, if he wasn’t king?

At least, that was what you thought, until you saw an old man sitting on the throne. Odin?

“Thank you, Skurge”, the supposed king said as the guard awkwardly introduce you - he had forgotten to interrogate you, so he had nothing to say. “I’ll take it from here. Please, go back to your post.”

‘Skurge’ nodded and hurried out. You turned to the man and said, “I’m honored to meet you, Allfather, but I was actually looking for your sons, Thor and Loki.”

The man frowned. “What do you want from them?”

“I am from the future, Your Highness. Seven years from now, to be more precise. I’ve met Thor, and he spoke much of his brother, and I firmly believe the two of them can help me go back to my time before Thanos captures me again.”

The king frowned at the mention of Thanos, and asked you a more detailed story. You told him about how, in your time, half of the universe had been wiped out with the power of the Infinity Stones, and how you and a team of experts had figured out how to travel in time to undo all the deaths. You also briefly explained how you ended up caught by Thanos, who wanted your timer to go to your present and destroy your team and stop your efforts.

“It’s urgent that we take you out of this time, indeed”, he said at the end of your speech. “However, I’m afraid we can’t contact my sons. Thor is in Midgard as we speak, and Loki died last year.”

You frowned. “I’m sorry, Your Highness, but Thor was very clear when telling us that Loki died in 2018. That’s four years from now.”

The king adjusted himself in his seat. “How can you be so sure of this?”

“He said Loki died protecting the Space Stone from Thanos. A hero’s death. And before that, a woman named Sif told him where she hid the Reality Stone after taking it from Jane Foster, a Midgardian. Honestly, I came here assuming he was king.” You deeply hoped you weren’t spilling away any secrets.

The king seemed stunned for a moment. “Follow me, lady.” You obeyed, following him to a room near the throne hall. As he closed the door behind you, a bright light surrounded him, and in the place of the old man was one you instantly recognized as Loki himself. “I suppose there is no point in hiding”, he said, more to himself than to you.

You blinked. “What?”, was all you could say.

“I have my reasons to do this”, he replied, seemingly offended. “Now, you said you were looking for me and Thor to repair your timer.”

“Yes. It was built on Earth, or Midgard as you called, but Asgard is more technologically advanced, and I guessed it would be safer to come here than to my obvious birth planet.”

He nodded. “A wise decision. I suspected you were not from this dimension since you showed up. My mother would probably have sensed exactly what you were, but she died before she could teach me more advanced magic. I will see how can I help you.” A pause. “Thanos kidnapped me once. You must know of the Chitauri invasion, since it was on your planet.” You nodded. “I won’t say I was innocent, but under a right mind I’d never try to destroy Midgard and rule it. Thanos used the Mind Stone on me, in a refined and twisted way. Mother spent months working on cleaning my mind off his influence. Point is, I know how destructive Thanos is and wants to be. One of my goals as king is to strengthen Asgardians forces to defeat him, but I suppose this doesn’t happen in your future.”

You shook your head. “I don’t know what happened to this planet, but it was abandoned in 2018. There is little left of your people, and they live on a settlement on Earth. The last defense against Thanos before he used the Stones were the Avengers, and an army from Wakanda, which is a country on Earth.”

He frowned. “Only one army fought against him?”

“Earth wasn’t aware of the threat until it was too late.”

He nodded slowly. “I understand. Well, we can’t let him reach you again. You said you were told you escape pod has no track inside, but I don’t think we can rely on that information. We need to act fast.”

A knock was heard. Loki assumed his disguise again and opened it. Skurge was panting. “An army arrived at the bridge. Thor seems to be with them, but he looks... quite different.”

“Let them come”, he said solemnly. Skurge nodded and hurried back. “I suppose they come from your future. How... different is Thor?”

You sighed. “He suffered a lot from losing you... and losing everyone else. He’s depressed, and it took a lot of effort to even bring him to battle.”

Loki’s Old Man face was sad as he left the room and led you back to the throne hall.

Steve must have seen you before you saw him - or anyone else -, because he hurried to you and hugged you before you could even wave at the team. “Thank God you’re okay”, he whispered. You hugged him back as tightly as you could.

“Thank you for coming”, you replied. He broke the hug and looked at you.

“Are you kidding me? I’d die before I let anything happen to you.”

Your heart skipped several beats at his words, and you were sure your cheeks were red.

“Hey, hey, let the poor girl breathe a little!”, you heard Stark say, and tilted your head to see him approach you. At the back, Loki had already dropped his disguise, and seemed to be having a heartfelt talk with Thor. You also noticed, with great delight, that there were many faces you didn’t recognize, meaning Nebula followed your wishes and brought everyone back before coming. “I brought you a new timer. It’s quicker than trying to repair this one here.” He gave you the timer as you took the broken one off. Just as you were placing the new one on your wrist, the castle started shaking - you almost let the timer fall, but you held it tight.

“What’s happening?”, you shouted.

“Thanos is here!”, someone you didn’t know (an Avenger brought from the ashes, you guessed) exclaimed. “Shooting at us!”

Your eyes widened. “I thought the escape pod was untraceable!”

“And it is!”, someone exclaimed. Gamora was there? “I don’t know how they found out!”

You saw Steve turning to her with anger in his expression, but Nebula - your Nebula - jumped in her sister’s defense. “Was 2014 me aware of where the pod was going?” Gamora nodded. “Then Thanos checked the footage of her eye upon retrieving her body.”

You bit your lip, trying to hold back tears. 2014 Nebula had died aiding your escape, then. And you feared she was lying to you...

Steve sighed and turned to you. “All the more reason to get you back to our present”, he said. “Put on your timer on. I’ll go with you.”

You wholeheartedly agreed with him. You just wanted to go home. “But what about the rest of the team?”, you asked. “They all carry timers that can be stolen by Thanos.”

“Don’t worry about that”, Thor said, hand raised in your direction in a weird manner. “This Asgard can defend itself.”

“Okay...”, you said, “but what exactly are you doing? This doesn’t seem to help anything, with all due respect.”

“Sometimes it takes time to get here”, Loki replied casually, as if you were supposed to know what he was talking about.

You imitated Thor’s gesture to see if it helped you understand. When it failed, you asked “What takes time to-”, you were interrupted by an impact on your hand.

You screamed.

“WHY IS THERE A HAMMER IN MY HAND?”

You felt hands on your shoulders and heard a laugh. Too tense to drop the hammer down, you turned to see Steve smiling. And half of the audience carrying surprised expressions on their faces. “What?”, you said.

Thor laughed loudly. “A worthy sister-in-arms!”

Loki frowned. “Since when does a Midgardian fits Odin’s spell of worth?”

It was your turn to frown. The ground began to shake more. “What spell of worth?”

It was a woman warrior who answered, “'Whosoever holds this hammer, if be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor’. I think you should stay and battle, after all. Thor already has Stormbreaker.”

You looked at Steve. “If that’s what you want”, he said. “I’m pretty sure you are capable of fighting at this point.” He was still smiling, as if he was proud of you. You made a mental note to ask more on that later.

There wasn’t much to think, though. The hall fell down, and while everyone managed to escape the ruins, Thanos and his army approached. You adjusted your new timer and prepared yourself, weapon in hand. Steve raised his shield.

The power of Thor was awesome. It came intuitively, as if you were born to hold that hammer, and it was beautiful to see.

However, it didn’t make you invulnerable to attacks, and the hammer wasn’t that good at defense. Thankfully, Steve was always by your side, and his shield helped a lot. A few knives on your pocket helped as well - thankfully, Gamora and Nebula didn’t empty your suit.

Speaking of the sisters, from a distance you saw the two of them uniting to kill Thanos. Most of his allies flew off after that, but his most loyal - and powerful - ones stayed and kept attacking. “I think we’re done here”, Steve whispered.

“I agree”, you said. “I’m okay with leaving.”

You dropped the hammer and activated your suit. There was no place for goodbyes as you and Steve turned the timer on.

Avengers Headquarters, 2021

You felt dizzy as you saw the time machine controls around you. You heard Banner’s voice ask where everyone else was. “They’ll come back anytime soon”, Steve replied as he held you. “I’ll take her to rest”, he added, and picked you bride-style. You instantly wrapped your arms around his neck.

All exhaustion from the day (God, it all been only a day) overwhelmed you as Steve took you to... a room. Your eyes couldn’t keep themselves open enough for you to see if it was yours or not.

You felt yourself being laid down on a bed, but couldn’t bring yourself to let go of Steve just yet. He was so warm... “Y/N?”, he prompted.

“You’re warm”, you said simply. “Warm...”, and darkness came again, but this time you welcomed it.

Action all packed, now it’s only fluff ahead! I decided against detailing the battle because of the following reasons:

It would be hard to describe the battle from the POV of someone who had no experience in fighting and would have little idea of what was happening.

This chapter was long enough already.

I didn’t want this fic to have too much graphic violence.

The person who announced Thanos’ arrival is Strange. The ‘woman warrior’ who recited Odin’s spell is Sif (in part 7, Sif is brought to fight after coming back; in canon she died in the Snap).

Pairing: Loki x reader

Summary: Vanaheim needs allies and since you are the eldest daughter of its king, you are a victim of arranged marriage with one of Odin’s sons - Loki.

Chapter warnings: the last chapter, smut and I can’t say anything more because I don’t want to spoil

A/N: I am too emotional now, I will leave the proper note at the end.

When you opened your eyes the bed was empty, but you could hear Marigold's silent giggling and Loki shushing her.

“Mommy's asleep, we have to be quiet.”

You turned on the bed and looked at them. Loki was dressing her up in a green dress, but got lost in all of the ribbons it had.

“Come here,” you said and sat up.

“Did we wake you?” Marigold asked and came over to you, tripping over the loose ribbons.

“No, snowflake.” You tied the black ribbons on her arms and back. “Will you tell me why is she dressed in our colours and this very expensive dress for another day on a spaceship?” You looked at Loki when Marigold run to the mirror to see how she looks. He watched you for a second with parted lips. “What?”

He smiled softly.

“You've never said these are our colours before.”

That was true... These were always his colours, but you've been wearing them for such a long time now.

“Is that bad? You don’t want me to say it?”

“I love it when you say it.” He smiled and reached a hand to Mari. She obediently came to him and he kneeled behind her. He summoned a brush and began to slowly stroke her hair.

You never realized how good he was as a father. Your own would never force himself to brush your hair, let alone kneel before you or be a tickling monster. You knew Odin was no better, at least when it came to Loki. And yet here he was, cherishing his little girl, loving her with his whole heart.

“Are you going to answer my question?”

He looked at you from the braid he was doing.

“Ah, yes. Thor says we are going to land on Midgard soon. I thought it would be good if we looked decent.”

You rolled your eyes.

"Just don't make her wear a crown with horns, please. The two of us is more than enough.”

"But I want horns!” Marigold stumped. “Mom! Please!”

Loki laughed.

“You will get a tiara, young lady, and it will have no horns,” you said with raised eyebrows. “And mind your temper.”

She crossed her arms and stumped again but didn't say anything else. Loki pinned the braids on her head and got up.

“Why don't you go to the bridge and look for Earth with your uncle, Marigold? Show him your pretty dress.”

“Maybe he'll borrow me his eyepatch!” She clapped her little hands and run outside.

You giggled and shook your head. Loki came closer to you and tugged a lost string of hair behind your ear.

“Are you alright?” He asked. His own hair was brushed but not styled and it was the most perfect way he looked. Unbothered, relaxed, with delicate black curls around his face.

You stood on your toes and kissed him gently.

“It’s been worse.” You smiled in his lips. “Why don’t we get dressed and welcome Earth in our horny crowns?”

“Why don’t we undress?” He smirked and wrapped his arms around you.

You stretched your arms on his shoulders and let him kiss you.

“I don’t think that’s wise…” You murmured, but couldn’t get your lips off him. You kissed his cheek, jawline and neck, his hands squeezed your hips and pulled you even closer, so your chest was pressed against his.

“I think that’s very wise.”

His hands slipped down your body, rolled up your nightgown and caressed the delicate skin of your thighs before travelling further and squeezing your ass. With a silent squirm you captured his lips in a needy kiss, his tongue quickly found its way into your mouth. He gently pushed you and you had to take a few steps back until your back met the wall. Loki pressed his whole body onto yours, his hands flew to your face and he lifted it up, gaining an access to your neck. His teeth tugged the skin just below the jawline, his lips claimed you his in every way possible.

You quickly undid his belt and slid the leather trousers down his legs, freeing his already hard member. Your fingers wrapped around him and stroked softly, receiving a groan and a bite on your neck. He held your thighs tightly.

“Jump,” he gasped in your ear before biting it slightly. You did as he said and wrapped your legs around his waist, but he stopped you before you slid down his length. “Y/N… Maybe… I won’t use the contraception spell?”

“I can do it if you want.” You kissed him passionately and tried to move, but he once again stopped you.

“No… What I meant was… not to use it at all,” he said, his thumbs caressed your skin.

“But I would get pregnant.” You cocked your head to the side.

He parted his lips, and looked you in the eyes.

“Exactly.”

You had to blink a few times, suddenly you forgot that breathing was a necessary.

“You want another baby?” You stuttered.

He looked as if saying it out loud made him realize it even harder.

“Yes.”

“But… we already have one.” You bit your lower lip. The position you were in was uncomfortable enough on its own, you didn’t need to feel uncomfortable also psychically.

“I… You’re right.” He shook his head. “It was just a silly thought.”

You leaned and kissed him unsurely.

“Don’t say that…” You rubbed your nose onto his. “I think I might… consider that,” you said, but shook your head almost immediately when you realized something. “No… I want that. But not now. Not when we are in these uncertain times.” You kissed his forehead. “I want to have another baby with you, but when we create new Asgard. I want it to have a normal, calm life.”

He kissed you and lowered you, so his length finally slid inside of you. You gasped in his lips and dug your fingers in his shoulders.

“I love you,” he said, thrusting hard. “And I will love every child you give me. No matter when.”

You wrapped your arms around him and let yourself selfishly enjoy every move he made. He pumped you fiercely, just the way you always loved it, the angle let him reach the sweet spot inside of you, pure bliss swallowed you whole and it didn’t take you both long to reach your tops. He placed his head in the crook of your neck and sucked on the delicate skin making you moan and dive your fingers into his hair. You clenched your muscles around him when he gave you last few thrusts, ecstasy made you shiver and your legs tremble, you couldn’t held the moan back anymore and it escaped your lips only to be swallowed by his. He spilled himself inside of you with a groan and bit your lower lip. He slowly put you back on the ground, but you didn’t trust your legs, so you had to lean on him not to fall. His cum slowly flew down your thighs.

“Now we can get dressed.”

You slowly walked to the bridge, arm in arm, both in those ridiculous crowns, but this time you didn’t care. It was your husband, your colours and your crown. Your family.

“How are we doing?” You asked Thor when you reached your destiny.

“It shouldn’t take long now. Soon we will be ready for a jump.”

“We will be on Earth, mommy!” Marigold turned to you in a captain’s chair.

“I know, snowflake! Isn’t this fantastic?” You laughed when you saw her lightened face.

“Don’t you two look fancy?” Thor pointed a finger at you and smiled cheekily. “Everything fine now?” You just nodded, begging him in your head to stop talking. “See, Y/N? I told you there is no need for a divorce.”

Loki stiffened next to you.

“You told him?” He hissed.

“He’s my friend, of course I did.” You bent your fingers.

“The whole ship knew, to be honest, you both are loud-“

“What’s that?” Loki furrowed and came closer to the pane. “Is that another ship?”

“This is the Asgardian refugee vessel Statesman.” You heard someone saying to the microphone. You quickly walked to Mari and lifted her up from the chair. “Our crew is made up of Asgardian families, we have very few soldiers here. This is not a warcraft. I repeat, this is not a warcraft!”

Your heartbeat was crazy. You were so close to Earth. So close to your perfect life. Loki took your hand and held it tightly.

Seconds passed, the ship before you was coming closer.

It wasn’t as big as it looked just a moment before.

“Guardians of the Galaxy at your service, need any help?” The voice came through the speaker, it belonged to a man.

Everyone on the ship seemed to breathe with relief. This wasn’t a warship either.

The man with the mic looked at Thor who nodded at him.

“No need.”

“Understood.” The speaker cracked and turned off.

When they passed you, you could barely see the crew inside.

“Is that a rabbit?” Thor furrowed, but eventually shook his head.

“We are ready for the jump, sir.” The second captain turned to Thor.

“Earth it is.”

“So who are these… Avengers?” You asked when the entrance of the ship lowered itself on the ground.

Midgard was similar to Asgard and Vanaheim. You were glad. The shock would be much worse if it turned out they didn’t have trees there.

“They are friends of mine!” Thor said and was the first to walk down, and Banner followed him immediately.

“But they are not your friends?” You turned to Loki who was holding Marigold. You asked her to turn to her Aesir form before.

“Indeed,” he sighed. “I just hope they would understand our situation.”

You landed near the facility Thor called Avengers’ compound. A few people were standing there to greet you. Or throw out.

You watched Thor and Banner as they spread their arms and hugged these people. They seemed to be happy to see each other and only a little concerned with the ship full of people. Your brother turned to you and waved at you both.

“I think this means we have to go there…” Loki sighed again and moved, but you held his hand and stopped him.

“Wait… What if they lock you again?” You stuttered, somehow suddenly really nervous.

He smiled softly at you.

“If they do I hope you will get me out.” He kissed your cheek. “Come, wife.”

You did as he said, raised your head like the princess you were and walked with your husband arm to arm.

“You obviously know Loki already,” Thor laughed when you stood before the people who were greeting you. Four man and two woman. “This is his wife, Y/N, and their child, Marigold.”

They all seemed so shocked. Their eyes were opened wide and their mouths were close to doing so as well. Why?

“Loki. Has a wife. And a kid.” A short man in odd glasses pointed finger at you, but it was the blonde woman who was first to act kind towards you.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you,” she said, her voice was slightly harsh, but pleasant.

“Likewise.” You eyed them all, suddenly not being able to say anything more.

“Any plans to conquer the Earth again?” The short man spoke again.

Loki smirked.

“Perhaps.”

“Daddy!” Marigold hissed at him and you tried not to giggle, but the woman who spoke before was not that subtle and laughed, just as Thor.

“Alright, none.” Loki rolled his eyes. “The little one is the boss now.” He wrinkled his nose at her and she giggled.

The people around you were once again in shock, but were more decent this time and shook it off.

“Please, come in,” said a blonde man and showed you the door. “Let’s talk about what we can do for your people.”

It was late evening and almost everyone went to sleep already, but not you. You just sat at the floor in the common room, your back resting against the couch and you watched the flames sparkle in the chimney. Marigold was sleeping in your arms, dressed in her pyjamas, back in her Jotun form. You couldn’t let her go somehow. You wanted to spend the whole night just watching her sleep.

You didn’t know where Loki was, he went somewhere with Thor shortly after you finished the talks about new Asgard which took you hours and hours. Tony Stark, the short man, said he would find a land big enough for you to create new Asgard there and invited your family to stay in the compound for as long as you needed. Of course you shouldn’t leave your people on the ship alone, but you felt better when you knew that Marigold would be finally comfortable. You wanted to place her in a bed, but… not yet.

“Do you need anything?” You heard a voice and tuned to the door. It was the blonde man, Steve Rogers. Captain America.

“No, thank you.” You shook your head.

He came closer.

“Do you mind if I sit?” He asked and you just shook your head again. He sat on the couch, close to where you were sitting on the floor. “You know, I fought with Loki when he was on Earth years ago.”

You raised your brows.

“I hope you’re going somewhere with it.”

He laughed silently.

“I am, don’t worry.” He looked at Marigold. “What I meant to say is that I would never think that this man could have a family like this. I just hope he’s changed and that he’s not hurting you both.”

He was worried? About you and Marigold, who he never met before?

“Why do you care?”

He shrugged.

“I think that’s just who I am. The guy who cares and always wants to help.”

You eyed him. He could be right. You didn’t feel anything bad from him, just pure will to be kind.

“It was hard at the beginning,” you said, not exactly knowing why you were so eager to talk about it. “It was an arranged marriage, you know. For the crimes he did on Earth. He said I was his punishment.” You shook your head at the memory of that. “We didn’t love each other. I still didn’t love him long after he confessed his love to me. Actually I don’t think I loved him when I got pregnant… Maybe when I gave birth. I realized it for sure when he pretended to be dead. I thought I lost him and it ripped me apart.”

“It was a process,” he stated and nodded slowly.

“Exactly. It was a hard work for both of us, but eventually we came to this point. We are a real family. He changed so much for us… I never thought it was possible.” You looked down at your little daughter, sleeping in your arms. “He loves us both very much. And he is the best father in the universe.” You gently kissed her blue forehead. “So no. He is not hurting us. Not anymore. He’s different. I think when you experience so much love in your life, even the worst memory no longer hurts. He just needed someone to teach him unconditional love. I never wanted him to be king, to be powerful or rich. I just wanted us to be a family, I wanted him and no one else. That was all he ever needed.”

“I think it’s beautiful,” Steve said. “Love melts even the toughest hearts.”

“That’s true.” You heard your husband’s voice and turned to him with a soft smile.

He walked to the room and squatted next to you.

“Can we go to sleep now, my loves?” He asked and gently took Marigold from you.

You nodded and got up.

“Goodnight, Captain,” you said.

“Goodnight.”

Loki guided you to your bedroom and placed Marigold on a bed placed there just for her, then covered her with the sheets. You sat heavily on your bed and watched your husband. He saw you looking at him and slowly kneeled before you.

“Everything is fine now.”

Not the usual “how are you?” or “are you okay?”. Everything is fine now.

You smiled at him and took his face in your hands.

“We are safe. We are together,” you said with tears in your eyes. You didn’t remember when you last felt safe. Even the word cut on your thigh couldn’t change that feeling now.

“And it shall always stay this way.”
