i HATE how time passes. i HATE how impermanent online friendships are. i HATE lookin back through old messages and seeign “deactivated” at the end of a username. i HATE when the account never got deleted but the person just vanished one day. i HATE seeing people i used to talk to continuing on as completely different people and knowing that we will never be the same again. i HATE that i will never get an explaination for the ending. i HATE that there is no closure. i HATE that we have to live like this. nothing is permanent. everything is always changing. you can never go back to how things were before. im going to explode.

Scrying The Earth/Gnome Elemental Kingdom and Archangel Sandalphon.
Tumblr media
This is a continuation of my elemental journey through the tattwa cards, this time it's more structured like a ritual there's more prayer and outline to it. I will post the actual working later. For now, I will be talking about the experience.
I will cut off the ritual aspect to another post which I think might make this post more palatable, starting by... when I passed through the tattva I was immediately in a meadow full of grassy plain and a very sunny place, the image above is very reminiscent of it. I asked for a guide from Ghob by the authority of Uriel but the elemental guide was weird looking and had a very off-beat vibe to him and in real life I started hearing a baby crying door nearby alongside a car alarm going off outside which I assumed was an omen that something was off. I dismissed the guide again in the name of Adonai Melek and Adonai Ha-Artez and called another guide from Uriel and Ariel, this time the guide that came looked like...yellow octahedron
Tumblr media
Which is pretty weird for a guide, but despite any divine name I said to him he looked pretty much revitalized and shinning with each name vibration lol. I followed the floating octahedron down a rocky path and upward until we reached a cliff where the guide intutively projected at me to vibrate the name of Sandalphon. After vibrating the name of Sandalphon I started by seeing stone steps raising up from the vast valley infront of the cliff , the stones became like a stair and I started walking upward counting my steps and as I said 10…. I was gonna say 11 and a voice told me STOP. i looked in front of me to seethe body of sandalphon was tall and huge, like a pillar of divine light infront of me, I verify again to make sure that this is truly sandalphon and his body started shinning a gentle light. I confessed my sins and asked for forgiveness of the mistakes I called him with before(long time ago, long story). My heart started shaking and I felt a feeling of forgiveness wash over me. Sandalphon didn't move but a gate opened infront of me with shinning dizzing light and he told me to enter, I prayed to my ancestral guides and they permitted me to go in. Once I was inside the gate, I was in a garden and I entered a mediumistic trance where certain information were given to me that I can't disclose here, I traced my way back from Sandalphon, thanked him for the vision and he gave me a new seal to work with. I traced back again and went back to the tattwa door and entered back into my body.
Wow... that was a long winded "journey" wasn't it! Anyway I got "home work" from Sandalphon and more stuff to do. In General, I find the practice to be a wonderful start overall. Next Journey will circle back Air-Earth-Air-Earth.

Daughter of the Revolution: Part 3
The Cabin Becomes A Medical Station For Alec.
In 24 parts, based on a post by Seethegood. Listen to the Podcast at Connected.
Tumblr media
She fought and struggled to get him on her mount, eventually using her strong hands to cup his firm ass and boost him up. A job she thoroughly enjoyed because she didn't have to look at his handsome face and become even more embarrassed. She marveled at how his strong muscles rippled under his uniform trousers. When he was seated, she nimbly hopped up behind him and nudged her horse forward to begin the difficult journey home.
She was sorry his hands were shackled but she loved how they felt brushing against her flat tummy as they rode. Her arms surrounded his lean waist as she guided their mount through the forest and her thoughts were heated when she imagined what he would look like, naked and making love to her. She shifted uncomfortably as her pussy soaked her undergarments while she fantasized about her new companion.
Suddenly, he shivered and swayed in the saddle and she instinctively tightened her arms around him.
"Alec? Alec?" She cried in alarm.
"I'm  okay, I think, just cold," he moaned.
She rapidly felt his forehead. He was burning with fever! She gripped him closer and increased their pace. If she couldn't get him home before he passed out they'd be in real trouble! Throwing caution to the wind, she took a direct route to the closest road and then went as fast as she could while managing to keep him upright. It seemed like an eternity but she finally saw a whisper of smoke from their cabin chimney and as they drew near she shouted for Rose and June.
As it happened to be Sunday, the two beauties that ran from the cabin were freshly bathed and wearing dresses. Without a word they tried to catch Alec when he fell but his big body knocked them to the ground.
"He's burning up!" Abby cried. "Let's get him inside."
The three women tugged and pulled until they got him on the cabin floor. Abby quickly took charge.
"We need to strip him and cool him down. June, get some cold water from the creek. Rose, help me cut his clothing away."
Scraps of his uniform fell to the floor while June trickled cold water over his burning body. Abby ran for a small anvil along with a hammer and chisel. When they rolled him to his side get to his manacles the three gasped in horror. His back had been brutally whipped. Flayed skin hung in tattered strips and his wounds were seeping blood and other body fluids. Abby's eyes filled with hot tears when she realized how rudely she'd manhandled him to get him home and he hadn't complained for a minute, even when she'd been sneakily rubbing her breasts on his broad back during their journey.
She quickly struck his shackles off, then they nearly exhausted themselves getting his bulk up on the bed. While they cleaned and bandaged his many wounds he woke up for a short while and they managed to get more water in him before he passed out again. June and Rose began washing his tall frame while Abby went to tend her horse and stow her gear. When she returned the two women were whispering about their new companion.
"Can we keep him?" Rose asked, not so innocently.
"We must tend him back to health, it could take quite a while!" June exclaimed somewhat excitedly. Abby smiled tiredly at the two.
"Well, that answers my question as to if we'll welcome him in our camp," she said.
"Well of course!" Rose and June said together. They ran their damp cloths over his lean body, using their other hands to stroke and caress him while Abby watched in some jealousy.
"June, can you please start dinner?" Abby asked politely. Both June and Rose picked up on Abby's tone of voice and noted that her gaze hadn't left Alec's limp frame. With a knowing glance at each other they communicated that Alec belonged to Abby, at least for now.
Abby caught the look and tempered herself.
"Rose, can you help me finish getting him comfortable?"
The two cleaned him thoroughly while Abby related the story of the previous two days. When it came to cleaning his groin, Abby firmly took over and gently wiped his thick cock down, then lifted his heavy sack to clean between his cheeks. Rose watched enviously, wishing it were her babying him. He soon grew longer in Abby's small hand and she petted him gently, torn by concern for his wounds and the rapidly building wetness between her thighs.
"Abby," Rose whispered in awe. "He's more than two hands width long and your fingers don't come close to reaching around it. He's bigger than old Isaac! Certainly when he's fully hard he'll be a beast!"
"Hush, Rose! He'll hear you!" Abby whispered, then giggled aloud.
"I had to hold him while he peed on the ground. It was so embarrassing but terribly fun as well!"
"No! Oh, you lucky girl!" Rose enthused.
While the two whispered together and finished up, June served a hot supper of venison stew and rice. The wonderful odor seemed to bring Alec around and Abby managed to sit him up to feed him a few bites. For the first time he acknowledged that he was surrounded by beautiful women and he was more than embarrassed. Abby had noticed and covered him with a sheet up to his waist. He politely introduced himself to Rose and June and they colored a deep red, giggling behind their hands. He had no idea of the effect he was having on the sex starved females. As the warm food hit his belly he swiftly grew drowsy and struggled to keep his eyes open so Abby slid him down to his back and lay next to him. He sighed deeply and fell into a deep sleep. Rose and June started cleaning the dinner utensils and before they were done, both Abby and Alec were snoring gently.
June looked at the couple wistfully. "They look so beautiful together," she whispered to Rose, who kissed her gently. "We can only be happy for Abby. She positively glows when she looks at him."
The two girls banked the fire, blew out candles, and followed the couple to sleep.
Abby and Alec are intimate while the girls plot a threesome.
Chapter 4
Abby awoke in the night to a strange sensation. Alec had rolled to his side and his breath was stirring her hair. She gently touched his forehead to find that he was still warm but his fever seemed to be abating. She was getting warm herself so she carefully got up without disturbing him and removed her clothes. She slid back in beside him and laying on her side, nestled his head between her naked breasts. She shivered when his warm breath tightened her nipples and gave her goosebumps on her firm tits. He groaned and snuggled in closer while she smiled happily to herself, then she slowly drifted off to sleep.
In the wee hours of the morning Alec moaned loudly, waking Abby from a deep sleep. He was laying on his back and soaked in sweat. Hurriedly, she flipped the sheet off to cool him and in the predawn light saw an amazing sight. His arms were stiff at his sides and he was thrusting his hips in the air repeatedly while calling out her name. She gasped when she saw his pulsating cock. It was hard as steel and easily 10 inches long, thicker than her wrist and topped with a swollen head that defied belief.
Rose awoke from his calls and tumbled out of bed to hurry to his side.
"Help him, Abby, before he hurts himself!" she whispered fiercely. His face was a rictus of passion and his eyes were tightly shut as he writhed, locked in a fever dream of lust.
"How, Rose? How do I do it?" Abby begged her.
Rose took his thick shaft in her small hand and worked his length skillfully. He groaned louder and rammed his hips high, straining upwards while his face grew red and he held his breath while he reached for his orgasm.
"He's close, Abby. Here!" Rose released him and put Abby's hands on him. Awkwardly, she knelt and stroked him rapidly and his breath exploded from his lungs as he released massive gouts of hot cum that spattered him from rigid abs to collarbone. Abby cried out in surprise at the fountain of cum that sprang from his cock. He heaved and twisted while she hung on for dear life. Her tight fists stroked him from his large balls to his hugely swollen head, and Rose exclaimed in wonder when he bathed himself in ropes of cum that seemed to never end.
"My word, what an absolute cannon!" Rose whispered in a hoarse voice as his hips slowly lowered to the bed and his arms relaxed at his sides.
"Oh Abby," he groaned in delirium.
"Hush now, sweet Alec," she whispered, while stroking his still swollen cock in hands slick with cum. While his breathing calmed, Rose volunteered some advice.
"He's had what they call a wet dream. It happens to a man if he hasn't came for a long time. It was probably brought on by his fever dreams. Now what you need to do is milk him dry. Work his shaft from his balls up to the head and squeeze the cum out of him."
Abby awkwardly attempted to do what she was instructed but Rose lost patience.
"May I? she offered.
Abby reluctantly handed him off to Rose who was more than delighted. She skillfully worked his shaft, using her thumbs to work from the base of his shaft up to his swollen head until hot cum poured from the end and onto his belly. Abby gasped at the sheer volume that Rose produced from her ministrations. She remembered how Rose had licked the end of Williams cock and bravely leaned down over him. She covered Rose's hand with hers to still her movement, then licked a thick wad of cum from his dripping head. She rolled it in her mouth and then swallowed it down. It wasn't unpleasant at all she decided.
"Suck him," Rose said huskily.
Abby looked up at her and was startled to see the look on Rose's face. Her face and upper breasts were flushed red and her eyes were hot as she stared down at Alec's cock.
Abby tentatively opened her mouth and tried to fit him in. She had to work at it but he finally popped inside. She did as Rose instructed and sucked on him hard. She was rewarded with a taste that she knew she'd never forget. Hot and sweet, he filled her senses and she shivered as her pussy flooded with juice. She drew a ragged groan from him, then he relaxed completely into unconsciousness.
Reluctantly, she released him and gently lowered his spent shaft to hang between his muscular thighs. She slowly shook her head and looked down at her man. He was covered in a light sweat and cum ran in rivulets off his chest and belly to stain the sheets.
"I can hardly believe what we just saw!" Rose exclaimed. "I've never seen a man cum so much in my life, and I've never seen a cock like his either, amazing!"
Just then June woke up. "What's going on? What are you two up to?" She stood and walked over, then covered her mouth and cried out in surprise when she saw Alec's condition. "My word! What did you two do to him?" she asked shakily.
Abby quickly explained and June burst out giggling.
"I wish I could've seen that. I'd love to take that load in my mouth. He looks wonderfully tasty!"
"June! How naughty!" Abby scolded, but she couldn't help laughing.
"Quick, help me clean him before he awakes. How embarrassing that would be!"
Alec awoke before lunchtime and Abby sat next to him to check his fever. It appeared to have broken and his color looked much better.
"How do you feel, honey?" she asked.
"Much better. Thank you, Angel."
She decided she liked her new name and told him so.
"Well, you are an angel. My guardian angel, so beautiful and sweet," he said while he gave her his gorgeous grey eyes.
She felt her heart melt and tears gather in her own. Impulsively, she leaned down and gently kissed his lips, then gave him a joyful smile.
"I'm so happy you're feeling better. Are you hungry?"
She put bath water on to heat then fed him a light meal. Rose and June were tending the garden so she took it on herself to bathe him. He protested when she stripped him down but she'd have none of it. She removed all his bandages then got him in the tub. He sighed in relief and murmured his approval as the heat soaked into his bones.
She gently washed his battered body, taking special care with his tortured back, then bent him forward and scrubbed his hair and scalp while he voiced his pleasure. Never had he felt such a sensation of being cared for by a beautiful woman.
When she was finished, he leaned back in the tub and winced in pain as the rough wood scraped his raw wounds. Standing up, Abby dropped her clothing from her body and pushed him forward, then sat in the tub behind him. She gently pulled him back against her chest and wrapped her legs around his lean waist. She hummed a lullaby in his ear and caressed his wide shoulders until he nodded off to a light sleep, and she herself dozed off in just a few minutes.
The creaking door woke her and she looked over as Rose and June quietly came in from their labors, their eyes widening when they saw the couple in the tub. Alec awoke as well and when he saw the girls, flailed around for something to cover himself.
"Don't worry there, sweetie," Rose giggled. "You've got nothing we haven't seen before."
He blushed furiously, which Abby thought was quite cute.
"I was afraid of that," he said. "I seem to remember you three cleaning me up."
"You remember right. We've seen every inch of you, and there's a lot of inches," Rose said with a wink.
"Rose Marie!" Abby scolded, then burst out giggling helplessly and June joined in as well. "I'm sorry, honey," Abby whispered in his ear. "We just couldn't resist. You're so handsome and sexy, no girl would turn down the opportunity to check you out."
She slid her arms under his and hugged him tightly. She saw the corner of his mouth quirk and when he began shaking with laughter she knew they were forgiven.
By now the water was cooling and Abby was getting chilled.
"June, may I have a towel please?"
As she'd done so often for several years now it was an ingrained habit, Abby rose from the tub and June began drying her off. Alec watched with wide eyes when Abby let him see her naked for the first time. He caught his breath when he took in her firm breasts, narrow waist, and perfect hips. Her little round ass was exquisitely formed and he couldn't seem to take his eyes off of it. Little did he know that he was next in line to be spoiled. Abby donned a white blouse and a skirt then picked up a fresh towel.
"Up with you, Sir. Your turn." He looked at all three women who were gazing at him expectantly. Shaking his head in defeat, he gripped the edge of the tub and painfully stood up. Three gasps of desire filled the room as his lean frame emerged, his cock was semi hard, caused by him viewing Abby's beautiful body. Abby quickly moved to his side and helped him step out. He steadied himself on her shoulder then stood fully erect. She toweled him from head to waist, blotting his wounded back lightly before Rose moved in to bandage it again.
June went to her knees in front of him and dried his legs then moved to his groin. He groaned when she daubed his cock and balls dry, his eyes tightly closed as he tried to avoid getting harder than he already was.
Thankfully for him, they finished in short order and he threw a sheet around himself in relief, then sat on the bed. June emptied the bath water and started some fresh for her and Rose. Abby eyed him critically. He seemed to be doing much better and his appetite earlier gave her hope that he was on the mend. He seemed to read her mind because he glanced up at her and gave her a beautiful smile that warmed her heart. He patted the bed beside him and she couldn't get there fast enough to snuggle into him.
"That hot water really took it out of me, do you mind if I nap for awhile?" he asked.
"Of course not, sweetheart. Let me help you."
He groaned and laid back while she adjusted his legs, then covered him with a light blanket. By the time she leaned in to kiss him he was already sleeping. She looked down at him and felt love bloom in her breast. He looked like a handsome little boy and her heart almost broke with the beauty of it.
She heard a sigh and turned to see June and Rose watching, also enraptured by the sight of Alec. She felt a flare of jealousy and knew it was something that would have to be addressed, and soon. Being a woman of action she decided there was no time like the present.
She got up and poured three stiff glasses of whiskey, then motioned the girls to follow her outside. Rose immediately knew what was up and steeled herself for a possible confrontation.
The old man who owned the cabin had built a swing on the porch and they all three sat down on it. Abby got right to it.
"I think I love that man in there. I know I've only known him a few days but I'm sure we'll be together forever, but I'm also a realist. You two ladies are my closest friends and I don't want to do anything to jeopardize that. There's no way we girls can live together for who knows how long, and have only one of us be in a relationship with a man. Unless you two kidnap your own boyfriends I'll have to share a little bit. I don't know Alec's feelings about me yet but I'm pretty sure he feels the same."
"From the way he called your name last night I'd say that's a safe bet," Rose said with a knowing smile. "Personally, I don't want an emotional relationship with a man. I still love William and I pray everyday that we'll be together again in the future. Having said that, Alec is a hell of a man and I'll not turn down that sweet cock if he offered it to me," she said dreamily.
June piped up. "I feel the same way. Your father and I had a wonderful relationship although it was secret because of my race. I still love him and hope to see him again. I love Rose too as you know, and I'll follow her wherever and with whomever she takes me."
The three sat in silence and sipped their whiskey for awhile as they all thought it out. Finally, Rose spoke up again.
"Abby, before you decide if you'll share him sexually, why don't June and I go away for a few days and leave you two alone? After you two consummate your relationship you may feel completely different. Love and sex can really throw you for a loop."
Abby's eyes welled with tears. "You'd do that for us?"
Rose kissed her cheek. "Of course, sweetheart. I'd do anything for you."
That evening after dinner, Alec was feeling well enough to sit at the table and chat with the girls. Over a glass of brandy they told him of their life on the plantation and the events that had led them to where they were currently. He looked at the three beauties with newfound respect, especially Abby. He found it hard to believe such a slip of a girl could be so deadly, even though he knew she'd killed his four captors, he hadn't seen it with his own eyes.
She showed him her rapier and her eyes misted as she told of her father having it made to fit her style of fighting and her smaller frame. Alec took it from the scabbard to admire it and picked a red fleck from the blood groove, solid evidence of Abby's skill with a blade.
Rose showed him their matching squirrel rifles and he was highly impressed that they were both proficient at loading and shooting them accurately. He turned to June next.
"And what's your special talent, Miss June?" he teased.
She thought for a second, then stood and turned her back to the group. They could see her arms moving and they were curious what she was up to. She turned to face them and they all gasped in surprise. She'd unbuttoned her blouse and tucked the flaps inside so her firm breasts were almost completely exposed, her dusky nipples jutting out to be seen by the astonished threesome. Her cheeks were a beautiful blush color from pinching them with her fingers and her eyes were burning with a lust that shook Alec to his core. She advanced on him like a she cat while looking deep in his soul and he was spellbound when she crawled in his lap to rub her stiffened nipples on his bare chest and kiss him deeply. He let out a muffled yelp and his eyes widened in shocked surprise.
She broke out in a wicked laugh, then slid off him and readjusted her blouse. Alec was sweating buckets while the three girls were laughing gaily.
"Holy Moses, June! Where'd you learn to do that! You looked sexier than anyone I've ever seen." Abby asked in wonder.
"Oh, here and there. A girl needs a few weapons in her arsenal," June sniggered.
"And what beautiful weapons they are," Rose said huskily while eyeing June's abundant cleavage.
Alec was taking it all in with raised eyebrows and wondering what ever in the world he'd gotten into with the three gorgeous women!
They finally went to bed when they'd drunk perhaps a bit too much, all except Alec. Abby had limited him to one drink because she was still worried about his health. She slid naked in bed with him and snuggled in close. He was being more than a gentleman and didn't try to touch her beyond what was necessary on the small mattress. In a low voice she explained that the girls were leaving tomorrow for a few days to give them some privacy.
The hair on his neck raised when she put her lips to his ear and whispered, "I want you to myself and I'm gonna have my way with you."
She boldly reached down and caught his thick cock in her small hand and caressed him tenderly. He moaned in pleasure and quickly grew larger, surprising her at how rapidly he swelled in size. Feeling bold and naughty, she remembered some advice that Rose had given her in days past.
"Keep quiet," she whispered, and silently slid under the sheet. She heard a hiss of breath.. In less than a minute she felt him swell, and she felt his big hands twist in her hair.
Rose had told her of the warning signs when a man was close to orgasm and Abby remembered them well. He growled low in his throat, and with a deep groan he erupted. She sputtered and coughed. He tried in vain to stay silent but his groans sounded throughout the cabin, moistening the thighs of the other two women who lay listening enviously just a few feet away.
Abby lowered her head, then slid up to greet him.
"My first time ever, lover. You're absolutely delicious. I may have to do that again soon," she teased.
He couldn't answer because he was still panting for air. She giggled and snuggled into his side, then threw a leg over his. She petted his chest and hummed a little song to him while his thumping heart slowed its pace. She discovered she could rub herself on his leg and bring herself pleasure. He became aware of what she was doing and awkwardly pushed his hand between her thighs. She smiled to herself as he seemed to be rubbing everywhere except her clit. She gently took his hand and singled out a finger, then rolled it over her swollen center.
"Right there," she breathed. "Gently."
He nodded slightly and took over while she sighed and kissed the shell of his ear, giving him the shivers. He cupped a breast, bringing another surge of pleasure over her. She was so excited, it took only a few minutes for her own to arrive. She involuntarily clamped her thighs around his hand and when her pleasure hit her like a tidal wave, she sank her teeth in his shoulder and groaned in ecstasy.
He kept up what he was doing until she exhausted herself from cumming so hard. She caught his hand and tugged it free from her soaked mound.
"Too sensitive, please, Alec," she sighed in relief. She pulled the fingers that had given her such pleasure, to her mouth and kissed them tenderly.
"Thank you, honey. You're wonderful," she said softly, then she got up and retrieved a damp cloth to clean their sticky bodies. She laid down on him and soon fell asleep atop his large frame while he lay patiently beneath her, marveling at how lucky he was to have such an amazing woman in his life.
The next morning after breakfast, Rose and June took their leave. Abby asked them to bring some of her father's clothes for Alec from the cache in the cave they were going to stay at. They wouldn't fit him perfectly but they'd be able to make some of them work with any luck as all three women were more than competent at sewing and mending. His uniform had been ruined when they'd cut it from his unconscious body and he'd been clothed only in a sheet or wrapped in a towel for the last couple of days.
He was standing on the porch in his bath towel to see the girls off when June slid up and gave him another taste of her smoky eyes. She hugged him tightly and pressed her cheek to his broad bare chest, inhaling his man smell while sighing at the feelings he raised in her damp center. She gripped his tight ass and squeezed him firmly.
"Mmmm," she whispered, "you feel so nice, I shall miss you." Reluctantly she broke away and giggled when she saw his shocked expression.
Rose was next and she winked saucily at Abby when she stepped into his embrace.
"You take good care of my girlfriend," she lectured. She dropped her hand and gently caressed his cock through the thin towel. "Don't hurt her too badly with that beast, I kinda like her."
He blushed violently when she kissed him on the lips and gave him a parting squeeze. The girls mounted up and nudged their horses forward but both had to turn at the last minute for a last longing look at the Adonis and his lady waving at them from the porch.

Prompt: At first they thought it was the fireworks but then the knocks on the door became louder.
From @creativepromptsforwriting
Author’s Note: I’ve been in my feelings this winter and I can’t stop thinking about a close friend of mine. Obviously some details have been changed to keep things more anonymous (not like in a million years would anyone I know would ever see this…) but this is all inspired by real conversations I’ve had with my friend. So here’s me fantasizing and induldging in my toxic little “what if…?” spiraling. It was also a very enjoyable and cathartic creative writing exercise. I hope 2024 is full of more and more writing!
Warnings: None/SFW. consensual kissing, light touching. Mentions of church/religion (non-specific).
Thunderous booms followed by crackles of sparks were muffled by the closed walls and windows of the house.
She was cuddled up on the couch with her family for New Years, watching the ball drop on TV. The occasional firework flashed outside, but the family largely ignored them, as it had been going on already for the past 30 minutes.
She took another delicious sip of her sweet hot cocoa, a leftover Christmas candy cane hanging off the side of her mug.
At first they thought it was the fireworks but then the knocks on the door became louder.
Alarmed, the family looked at each other. They didn’t invite anyone over for New Year’s Eve.
“I’ll go check.” She cautiously got up.
“Don’t open it! Just look to see who it is!” Her sister called out behind her.
Tentatively, she tried not to make a sound in her slippered feet and peered through the peep hole in the door.
A boy, no, a man she knew all too well, stood there uncomfortably, hands shoved in his pockets and staring out at the fireworks, then back to the door.
She pulled the door open and shouted loud enough for her family to hear.
“[name]?!” she exclaimed, “I thought you went back down to LA!”
“Why is he here?” Her sister called towards the door, eyes still glued to the TV.
“I don’t know!” She called back, and then turned to the man in front of her expectantly.
“Can…can we talk?” He said it so carefully, so uneasily, so unlike his usual confident self.
She stared for a second, her instincts immediately sensing something was wrong.
He was her childhood friend. They had grown up in the church together, leaning on each other through their spiritual and personal journeys. As they grew up and questioned the religion their parents taught them, they became each other’s confidants. Sharing their lives, their confusions, their heartbreaks.
Their dramas.
Their traumas.
He was an older brother to her, a trusted sibling that she was as comfortable asking for help, as she was comfortable getting into heated arguments over nothing.
“Are you okay?” She asked gently, her tone immediately soft and serious with concern. “What happened?”
She placed a gentle hand on the outside of his arm, their height difference making it hard for her to reach his shoulder. He immediately glanced down at the touch, almost flinching.
She saw the discomfort flit across his facial features in the dim light of the front steps.
Her hand drew back in hesitation.
His face fell even more at the loss of her touch.
Now she was confused. He’s never been uncomfortable around her before. What’s going on?
“I need to tell you something.” His voice rushed out of him, repeating the same vague message.
“Okay. Do you want to come inside?” She offered cautiously.
“No!” He looked concerned, “no, c-can we just sit out here?” He gestured to the rickety old bench on her front porch that the stray cats used to take naps on.
She wasn’t even sure it would hold her weight, let alone the two of them.
“Sure, if you want that.” She replied with what she hoped was a reassuring smile, trying to mask some of her confusion and concern.
She gingerly sat down with a creak of the old wood, and he followed suit. Somehow the piece of furniture didn’t come crashing down and she let out a breath that she didn’t know she was holding.
She carefully folded her hands in her lap, being cognizant not to touch him again.
His gaze fell on the darkened trees and distant fireworks of her neighborhood, and she looked at his profile, wrought with a nervousness that she rarely saw on her friend.
“I…I’ve been thinking a lot since we last talked.”
“About your ex-friend?”
He had been working through the fall out of a toxic friendship for years, and she had counseled him through it all. Last week, he finally let go and forgave his friend for all the hurt she has caused him, and their friend group.
“Yeah. Just the part about what my mentor said about love.”
“Familial love and Eros, romantic love? Oh god, do you think you really had a crush on her?”
“What? No, definitely not my type and no, I didn’t. But remember how I used you as an example?”
“Yeah…?” Her heart started beating faster. Where was he going with this?
“I told my mentors that I have close friends, as close as her, that were just familial, not romantic. And you are one of them.”
“Yeah. You’re like a brother to me. We’re family friends.” She stated matter of factly. She was mentored by his parents in the church. She and her sister were always invited every thanksgiving. Hell, she even took his younger brother to prom to avoid an ex. Long story short, she wasn’t just close to him, she was close to his whole family.
Some people think that guys and girls can’t be just friends. Especially not at the level of closeness she felt with him. But it was normal to her. She had other close guy friends besides him. And he knew that.
That’s why they could banter and bicker, but also confide in each other, with complete trust. Zero weirdness.
Or so she thought.
Another bright flash from the fireworks illuminated his face. In that instant, she could see the hurt and disappointment at her statement.
“But what if…there is Eros, romantic love, too? Between us?”
He turned towards her, his knee bumping into hers. The small touch made the air in her lungs feel tight, as if she couldn’t let it go.
What…?
Her eyes scanned his in a frenzy of movement, as if she was trying to see if there was a hint of a lie, some kind of sick joke there.
“What are you trying to say?” She almost whispered it, surprise and disbelief lacing her every word.
“I think…I couldn’t stop thinking about…you know how I said I know this can happen to me? Like last year with that other girl?”
“Yeah, that you were friends but then you started developing a crush, but then you got over it. You catch feelings because you’re a romantic.”
“Yeah…it’s kinda a problem. Well, I think the same thing is happening with you.”
“…You’re gonna need to be more specific.”
But she knew.
He was logical and confident where she was anxious and emotional. As different as they were, it was a perfect match. He grounded her, and she softened him.
Every time they spoke, every time they shared, she was left with a question.
What if..?
What if they crossed that invisible line and started to like each other ? To have a relationship that wasn’t like family, but more than that. Like lovers.
She knew his issues. And he knew hers. The relationship wouldn’t be easy—it would be full of hard work. But they had been working on that together for years.
Maybe it was a good thing that they knew each other so well.
There was already a closeness, an intimacy bought through years of pain and challenges and counseling each other.
Would that be enough to start something entirely new?
Or would that be the pitfall, the exact thing that would bring everything, the friendship, the love they already had for each other, crashing down?
“I think I like you.”
Even as the implications swirled through her mind, her hand still shot up to cover her mouth in disbelief. Did he really just say that?
“…are you sure?”
“Yes? I think so…? I know this is weird and we’ve kinda talked about how we don’t see each other that way, like remember you got mad that my friends kept teasing us when they met you…and—“
“Hold on…just give me a moment to think.”
His jaw snapped shut and he rubbed his hands on his thighs, another gesture of nervousness that she almost never saw from her usually very self assured friend. She’s only seen him like this once.
When he had a major crush on that girl last year.
This is happening.
So she was honest.
She told him about this question of what if…?
The possibility of this friendship turning romantic has crossed her mind for years, ever since he started confiding in her when she went to college.
She remembers having long conversations with him, sitting in the hallway of her dorm room, phone plugged into the outlet on the floor because her battery drained from talking so much.
She remembers seeing a text every holiday that said: “I’m driving back home. Call me?”
She remembers the months of not speaking only for her to reach out and write a simple message: “Just checking in. How are you?”
But the answer was never “I’m fine.”
There was always something he was going through.
And in turn, she always reciprocated his vulnerability.
She remembers years of meet ups, of deep conversations over a meal, and thinking … to everyone else this is a date. But it’s not for us?
She never questioned any of her relationships with other male friends. Not even her closeness with his younger brother.
I don’t know why it’s different. Is it a different kind of love?
This question has been turned over and over and over in her mind for the past 10 years.
With no clear answer.
If it is a yes, it’s a line she can’t take back, and it will have ripples across her community. It’s so very risky and she’s terrified. If things change, she could lose him, her friendship with his younger brother, and her relationship to his whole family. And that’s too much at stake.
And that’s what she told him.
“So, are we really gonna cross this line?”
“I…I don’t know.” He exhaled in a frustrated sigh. “I just know that…my feelings towards you are changing. They’ve already changed.”
He carefully pulls her hand towards his lap and a blush immediately flushes her cheeks. His gaze at her is so hopeful, so full of emotion, so full of…is that love in his eyes…?
“Okay.” She breathes out in a rush. “You know this is going to be hard. I’ve never been in a relationship before and—“
“I know.”
“And I’ve never even had a crush on anyone before and—“
“I know.”
“You know I’m already an anxious, emotional mess and—“
“I know.”
“And I’m still in therapy for all this trauma and—“
“Stop. I know all that already. How long have I known you? I wanna try. I’ll put in the effort. I’m just asking. Are you willing? Are you willing to try? Are you willing to see me that way?”
“Okay. I can promise I’ll try.” She finally nodded and smiled a hesitant smile at him.
The front door flung open at that moment and she could hear the countdown from the TV inside.
“What are you guys doing?! It’s the countdown and you’re missing—!” Her sister shouted at her before skidding to a halt. She saw his hand on hers and the closeness of their bodies and she gasped, putting everything together at once.
“I—I’m telling your brother!” She stuttered out and ran back inside to grab her phone.
“There’s no going back now.” She laughed and he smiled broadly, remembering how much he loves to hear her laugh.
“No. There isn’t. Count down to the new year with me?”
Together they quietly chanted, “5, 4, 3, 2, 1.”
“Happy New Year! Here’s to the start of something new.”
“Did you just quote High School Musical?”
“Not on purpose.” She laughed and rolled her eyes.
He tilted her chin and kissed her on the lips, for the first time.
“I don’t believe you for a second.” He smiles at her stunned expression.
“It’s the start of something new.” He breathes out.
“Okay. No more what ifs.”

Bonjour mes amis,
Yesssss, we get to sleep in. For the first time in a week we got up before the alarm went off. What an awesome feeling to get a full 8 hours of sleep on vacation. The weather today looks incredible, big fluffy clouds, cool temps and sunshine.
We're off for a big hearty breakfast back at Holybelly 5, wow the crowd. They have an app to do a virtual queue and it took is some time to get through it entirely in French but we did it. We had some time so we strolled around the neighborhood. We then headed back, and wow breakfast was still so delicious. I loved the eggs on the pancakes and they have a wonderful hibiscus iced tea. Now that we're full it's time.
We have bought tickets on three different occasions to Versailles and today is the day, we're finally going to see the famous Chateau. We hop on the train and we're off. Before we know it were lost. Yes we're to meet our guide under Louis XIV on the horse and we're in a park. Luckily we arrived in enough time to find where we needed to be. We start the tour and I think tourism is back they are welcoming about 12,000 visitors on the weekends now. We enter and it's shoulder to shoulder.
We proceed through the rooms learning about the art and the uses. Some of the history of the building and even when it was opened as a museum. The crowds are overwhelming and not being able to move is frustrating. We get to the Hall of Mirrors and it is really amazing. After the queens room we get to the best part, the gardens.
Within a few minutes a bee is buzzing in my ear, it gets in my collar of my shirt and I try to shush it out and that made it mad, yes I let out a very high pitch squel when it stung me. The good news is that Marty and Tyler asked if I was okay before a giggle at my outburst. Of course I saw this season on Bridgerton and someone dies from a bee sting. Luckily I survived, shook it off and we strolled the gardens. We could have spent hours here and I can't wait to return and explore them more. Great learning for me, Versailles' gardens are incredible, the interior not really needed. Schönbrunn is more impressive inside, with furnishings and information. I'm beyond excited to have finally made it and see why it's one of the most visited attractions in France, after Disneyland and the Eiffel Tower of course.
With Versailles closing time we head back to Paris. With such beautiful weather we decide to get off at the Eiffel Tower and walk along the river. We do tourist things like eat crepes and then sit outside and just enjoy the view and people watching.
We decide to go see the city by night from Sacré-Cœur. Tyler said he's to tired at 7 pm and opts to go back to the room. Yes again these old men out lasted a 20 year old. We head out and up. We take the funiculaire up, that may have been a mistake. People here love to smoke and my eyes are watering from the smell. However we make it to the top and find a place on the steps and just take it in. The crowds, the entertainment, and the city coming to life. It's amazing and I'm so happy to be here.
We then stroll down through Montmartre and just enjoy the views, the cafe's, and shops. We get back to the room and it's time to crash. Tomorrow is our final day and it's a very low key day. We have to get our Covid test to come home but we are then free to explore and enjoy Paris on a Sunday afternoon. I'm falling in love with France and can't wait to come back and explore even more. Thank you for joining us on this journey through Europe with my 20 year old nephew. Bonne nuit.

Green With Envy
Pairing: Dream / Clay x f!reader
Summary: [Dream SMP!AU] In Dream’s opinion, you and Sapnap are getting a bit too close for comfort. Combine that with a war, and it looks like he’s in way over his head.
Warnings: some cursing (because Tommy exists) + tw// injury
Word Count: 3.9k
A/N: requested by an anon who wanted some dream angst with a fluffy ending! the story takes place during the attack on L’Manberg. love to see that my first dream work is just packed to the brim with tropes. i had a bit of a rough time mapping this one out, but i hope you enjoy it nonetheless.
Tumblr media
Dream let out a yawn as he walked into the living room, ruffling his hair as he went. “Good morning,” he greeted, collapsing onto the nearest couch.
On the other side of the room, you groaned. “‘Good morning’, my ass,” you muttered. “Mornings suck.”
He let out a small laugh at that, admiring your form sitting across from him. You were easily the biggest anti-morning person he knew. You could probably write a whole essay on why they were just the worst. But right now, in this moment, you looked absolutely adorable curled up in the couch cushions. Your hair was a complete mess, your clothes were askew, and a frown was plastered to your face.
Yet you were still so beautiful.
He wondered how you did it—how you managed to be so effortlessly wonderful in that special way of yours. He couldn’t quite put his finger on it, but he was sure of one thing.
He liked you. A lot.
If only he knew how to tell you.
Sapnap strolled into the room, holding a glass of milk. “Morning, cuties,” he hummed, taking a sip. He glanced down at the grumbling couch lump that was you. “Is [Y/N] being a grump, again?”
Dream nodded, offering him a crooked smile. “You know it.”
For a moment, Sapnap paused. Then a devilish smile crossed his face and he set his glass down on the coffee table. He leapt over the back of the couch, crashing into the space next to you. Leaning over, he wrapped his arm around your smaller figure and pulled you into his chest.
Dream froze in his spot.
What. The hell.
You let out a yelp at the sudden movement, your frown deepening. “Sapnap,” you said, “what are you—”
“Wakey, wakey!” he cried, his fingers going for your sides in a tickle attack. In an instant, you were howling with laughter, tears springing to your eyes as you kicked your arms and legs. Dream’s throat constricted at the sight, his heart beating faster at the sight of your smile but sinking knowing that he wasn’t the cause of it.
“Snappitus!” you screeched, smacking his head. “Snapmap, stop!” You let out a wheeze. “Oh my god, Sapnap! I’m going to kill y—”
Sapnap finally relented, dropping you back onto the couch cushion with a smile. “That’s the first time I think I’ve seen you smile in the morning, [Y/N].” He jut his thumb into his chest triumphantly. “And it was all thanks to me.”
You heaved, catching your breath before turning to look at him. “Snappitus Nappitus,” you crooned, reaching your hand over towards his face. He looked at you inquisitively. Suddenly, you flicked his forehead, and he fell back with a yelp.
“Dude!” he cried, glaring up at you from where he lay sprawled on the ground. “What the hell was that for?”
You cackled at his reaction, kicking at his armour. “Because you’re an idiot for thinking it was a good idea to do that.”
Sapnap let out a groan of defeat as he asked for you to at least pass him an ice pack for his “grave wound”. On the other side of the room, Dream’s expression was cold. A stone of uneasiness sank to the bottom of his stomach as he stood up, walking out of the living room with a heaviness in his step that he didn’t walk in with.
So, he thought to himself, his gut churning.
Sapnap, huh?
Tumblr media
The sun glared down at the earth from the sky, not a single cloud to be seen. Dream squinted up at it as he surveyed the weather.
The scheduled day to negotiate with L’Manberg over their territory had finally come.
Under any other circumstances, Dream would be having much more fun preparing for the journey, knowing very well that he was about to see some serious destruction. But today, he was in a terrible mood, and for one reason only.
For the past week, you and Sapnap had been spending practically every second together.
When Dream had sent Sapnap to burn down the forest surrounding L’Manberg’s walls, he had invited you to come with him. When Dream had asked you to hunt creepers to retrieve the gunpowder necessary for the TNT, you had brought Sapnap with you.
And he didn’t think it could get any worse, but even now, you were laughing at something Sapnap was saying, your grin shining brighter than the sun hanging in the sky above you.
Dream was tired of it.
“You have the dynamite sticks, right?” he asked, leading his horse away from the house.
George froze, then let out a long whine. “I forgot it in the storage house. Now, I have to go all the way back to get it.”
Despite his terrible mood, Dream let out a chuckle. “You’re so dumb, George,” he said teasingly, sending him a smirk. “How could you forget the most crucial part of the plan?”
George groaned. “I don’t know! I just forgot, okay?”
He waved a hand at him, pulling out his saddle. “Just go and grab some quickly, alright? We’ll wait for you until you get back.”
George nodded, hopping onto his horse. “I’ll be back soon.” With a snap of his reins, he was dashing down the hill toward the storage warehouse.
The moment he disappeared over the hill, Dream’s smile vanished along with him. In the corner of his eye, he could see Sapnap chasing after you with a stick, his boots in your hand. A twinge of jealousy ran up his spine.
Wait—jealousy? No way. Dream wasn’t jealous, not one bit.
With a deep sigh, he diverted his attention to attaching the saddle in his hands to his horse. Mere moments after he placed it upon his horse’s back, he heard footsteps approach him. He already knew who it was without having to look up.
“What do you want?” he said coldly, not bothering to look at you as he began clasping the saddle buckles shut.
You shifted your weight from foot to foot. “Well, um,” you said, “I wanted to come over and say hi—”
“Cool, hi,” Dream said, cutting you off. He turned, looking at you properly now. “You can go, now.”
You looked taken aback by his words before your expression shifted into a frown. “What’s gotten into you, Dream? You’re not acting like yourself.”
He resisted the urge to roll his eyes. “Oh, am I?” He gestured behind you. “I’m just saying you can leave, now. You did what you came to do, right?”
You were appalled. “Why are you acting like this? I just wanted to hang out with you for a bit before we left.”
Didn’t you get it? He was trying to do you a favour. Before he could stop himself, he snapped, “Why don’t you just hang out with ‘Snappitus Nappitus’?”
A sinking feeling dug itself into his chest at the pang of hurt that shot across your face. But in an instant, it was gone, your expression hardening. His mouth went dry.
“Fine,” you spat, fixing your eyes on him with a glare. “Maybe I will.”
You turned on your heel, stomping away to the other side of the base, inevitably making your way over to Sapnap to complain. Dream’s eyes trailed after you as you walked off, something stinging behind his eyes.
Why did he say that? He shouldn’t have taken his anger out on anyone, let alone you—the one he cherished most.
He felt sick.
“Dream,” a voice said behind him. “I got the dynamite. Ready to go?”
He turned to see George behind him, seated on his horse with a flint and steel in hand. Taking a deep breath, Dream hoisted himself onto his own horse, picking up the reins with a heavy heart.
“Yeah.”
Tumblr media
“Big D! What’s the fuck?!”
Dream grimaced under his mask, the string keeping his patience together wearing thinner by the second.
He and his SMP had been in L’Manberg for no longer than five minutes, and he already wanted to declare war and call it a day.
“I’ve already presented you with your ultimatum, Tommy.”
Tommy snorted. “Yeah, and it’s a bad one. ‘Give up your land or we’ll light three sticks of dynamite’,” he mocked. He turned to look at Tubbo with a grin. “Tell me that’s not the worst ultimatum you’ve ever fuckin’ heard, Tubbo.”
Tubbo offered a cheerful grin. “It’s a pretty bad ultimatum, yeah.”
Tommy nodded, looking back at Dream with a triumphant smile. “You see, Big D? Your deal sucks. It’s fucking terribl—”
Dream let out a deep sigh. “Tommy, I’m really not in the mood for this.” His form turned toward you for a split second, taking in the sight of your figure next to Sapnap’s before looking back at Tommy. “Let’s just get this over with. What’s your decision?”
The blond blinked at him for a second, a shit-eating grin spreading across his face. “Oooh, are you having women problems?”
Dream’s grip on his sword stiffened, his fingers twitching. “What,” he said, his tone harsh, “are you talking about it?”
Tommy shrugged. “I’m just saying, you might be having some.” He gestured to himself, smiling pompously. “If you were like me, you wouldn’t have these kinds of problems, because I’m an expert at women.”
The string thinned another fraction. “Sure you are, Tommy.”
Just then, Wilbur spoke up. “Tommy doesn’t know what he’s talking about, ignore him.” His smile mirroring Tommy’s. “But say, Dream,” he drawled, his gaze flickering back and forth between you and him, “do you happen to know the saying ‘green with envy’?”
Dream’s breath hitched. If he said one more wor—
Wilbur narrowed his eyes teasingly. “Because to me, it seems to be you’re covered in green from head to toe—inside and out.”
And the string snapped.
“George,” he said, his voice devoid of emotion, “set it off.”
The group looked at him in alarm, their eyes wide as George began, “A-Are you sur—”
“Just set it off!” he shouted, a fury like none other taking over him. How dare Wilbur of all people tease him—taunt him? How dare he? Maybe it was a bad idea, but he was done with negotiating.
It was time.
Without any more questions, Dream watched as George lit three sticks of dynamite, tossing them onto the ground ahead of them. The moment the sticks hit the ground, George yelled, “Go, get out, get out, get out!”
Every member of Dream’s faction turned, rushing for the entrance just as the first explosion rang out. Screams rang out all around him, Tommy cursing incessantly while Fundy screeched. Hidden under his mask, a grin stretched across his face at the sound of destruction. He was a single step away from the exit when Sapnap let out a desperate yell.
“[Y/N]!”
Dream stopped, turning to look over his shoulder. The explosions were still ringing out around him, but what he saw horrified him.
You laid on the ground with an arrow pinned to the train of your satchel, leaving you stuck on the ground. Above you, a chunk of the L’Manberg walls was dangerously close to unlatching itself and falling on you. All it would take was a few more explosions for that section of the wall to come crashing onto you, and Dream knew that they had hidden more than enough TNT under the country to make that happen.
You were tugging desperately on your satchel, unsheathing your sword to cut yourself loose, but Dream knew there wasn’t enough time.
He didn’t allow himself even a single second to process what was happening—he simply bolted.
In one moment, he was turning to head out of the base. In the next, he was tackling you to the ground, his taller figure shielding yours as he pinned you to the earth below.
“Drea—?”
The ear-splitting train of explosions cut you off, and Dream felt a surge of white hot pain sear up his back as the chunk of wall slammed into his back. He was vaguely aware of the fact that his armour was cracking. He knew he should have repaired it when he had the chance.
Just then, his mask slid off his face, landing squarely on your chest. The strap must have snapped, he thought distantly to himself. The ringing in his ears was deafening, and he could just barely make out the sight of you crying out underneath him, your lips forming his name—his real name.
It was a shame he couldn’t hear your voice saying it. He’s sure it would sound lovely.
Then the world went dark.
Tumblr media
Something cool brushed over his face, and Dream felt himself being pulled out of unconsciousness.
Where... am I?
Slowly, he opened his eyes, blinking while then drowsiness seeped out of his eyes. It must be late afternoon, given how warm and light it was. Letting his eyes readjust to the brightness of the day, he took in the sight of the space around him. It only took a few seconds for him to figure out that he was in his room. He recognized those chests, his messy desk, the curtains framing the open window. A breeze must have been what woke him up.
Why am I here?
He thought back in his mind, trying to recall the last memory he had experienced.
The battle. His SMP. L’Manberg. Tommy. Wilbur. Ultimatum. Dynamite.
He grimaced.
Oh. Right. That.
He vaguely wondered if their side had won, but also knew that he was missing something. He could have sworn there was more to the battle than just that. What was it?
He felt a weight pressing down on the bed just next to him. Glancing down, his heart stuttered in his chest at the sight of you sitting in a chair next to him, leaned over and fast asleep on the edge of his bed. The images flashed through his mind.
Taunting. The wall. You. Pain. Heat. Your lips mouthing his name. Darkness.
Ah. He remembered, now.
He shifted slightly, feeling a dull pain shoot up his side. Wincing, he pulled back the covers, looking down. He was wearing a new shirt and sweatpants—clean clothes, thank goodness. Lifting up the hem of his shirt, he grimaced at the sight of the white bandages wrapped around his torso. They definitely extended to his back as well, if he remembered correctly. So that explained the aches.
Ever so slowly, he wiggled back, ignoring each wave of pain that crashed over his spine when he did so. A few moments later, he had finally brought himself to a sitting position, your head now lying on his lap. Dream smiled fondly down at you, reaching out to stroke your hair. You were beautiful when you were sleeping. Well, you were beautiful all the time, but he digressed.
He had a million questions swirling around in his head. How long had you been sitting here? Did your back hurt from leaning over for so long? Were still mad at him?
He really hoped you weren’t.
Just then, you reached a hand to rub at your eyes, letting out a soft noise as you began to wake up. Dream’s hand immediately darted back to his side, and he watched intently as you brought yourself back to a sitting position. You let out a quiet groan as you cracked your back. It was only then that you fully opened your eye. He could practically see the recognition set in your eyes as you took in where you were before you whirled, jaw dropped as you stared at him.
“Um,” he began, suddenly feeling shy, “hey there.”
You continued to gape at him, eyes wide. “You’re awake,” you blurted.
His lips quirked. “Sure am.”
You scooted closer to him in your chair, shoulders shaking. “You’re actually awake,” you repeated, almost in disbelief.
Dream nodded, amused. “Yep. You already said that.”
All of sudden, you moved forward, climbing onto the bed so that you were sitting on your knees right beside him. He didn’t have a chance to react before you were leaned into him, weakly smacking his chest with your fists, your shoulders trembling as you did so.
“You’re. So. Stupid!” you wailed, punctuating each word with another light hit. You whipped your head up, glaring at him through your watery eyes. “Why did you do it? Why did you block me from the debris?”
Dream averted his gaze from yours, his heartbeat picking up from how close you were to his. He could only hope you couldn’t feel it through your hands. “I wake up and one of the first things you tell me is that I’m stupid?” he said, trying to avoid the topic at hand. “What a warm welcome back.”
You pressed your lips into a thin line. “Don’t change the subject, Dream. Answer the question.” Your gaze narrowed. “Why did you do it?”
He opened his mouth, then closed it. “I—I didn’t even think about it,” he admittedly truthfully. “I just moved without thinking.”
You stared at him, your brows furrowing. “But why? You should have been worried about yourself first.”
Dream blinked down at you, feeling his heart beat against his rib cage wildly. He was almost positive you could feel it.
Then it hit him, the realization sinking into his mind as clear as day.
It was now or never.
He took a deep breath, reaching up to hold your hand in his. He watched something in your gaze melt, but the question remained in your eyes.
Luckily for you, he had an answer.
“I like you,” he said. “That’s why.”
You stared at him, stunned. He felt anxiety lump in his throat.
“You do?”
He swallowed it back down.
“Yeah.”
There was a beat of silence.
And then you began to cry.
Almost instantaneously, Dream began to panic. “H-Hey,” he said gently, wrapping his arms around you carefully, “why are you crying? Did I say something wrong? I, uh—” He gulped. “It’s okay if you don’t feel the same way. I know you like Sapnap.”
Now, it was your turn to be confused. Sniffling, you wiped at your eyes. “Wh—” Hiccup. “W-What are you talking about? I don’t—I don’t like Sapnap.”
He wrinkled his brow at you. “Sure you do,” he said. “You’ve basically been all over him lately. That practically screams, ‘I love Sapnap’.”
You stared at him, your tears reduced to stained cheeks now and a slightly sniffling nose. “Sapnap and I are best friends,” you said, frowning.
He nodded. “Yeah. And you like him.”
Your frowned deepened. “No, that’s—” You stopped, and he watched as the gears turned in your head, being able to pinpoint the exact moment they clicked together.
“Dream,” you said slowly. “You think that I—” You pointed to yourself. “—like Sapnap?”
He cocked his head. “I mean, don’t you?”
You stared at him for a moment longer. “Dream,” you said again, “when you jumped in front of me, I was absolutely terrified. I didn’t know what was going on, and I only remember screaming before you just blacked out on me. We won and L’Manberg surrendered, but George had to help me carry you back. You were out for two days.”
He cringed at your words. It was good that you had won, but two days was a long time to be unconscious. He must have missed so much.
“During those two days, Dream,” you continued, “I practically didn’t leave that chair.” You pointed to the chair you had been sitting on just moments prior. “Sapnap had to drag me down to eat, and I still slept here, as you already saw.”
He gaped, absolutely shocked. You stayed by his side? For two straight days? For him?
He must have said that out loud without thinking, because you nodded and pursed your lips. “Dream,” you said, “do you know what that means?”
He blinked at you. “I don’t see how this has anything to do with you liking Sapnap.”
You let out a groan, hanging your head in your hands. “How are you this dense?” you muttered, your cheeks flushing pink. “Are you really gonna make me say it?”
He didn’t think he could be anymore confused. “Say what?”
Lifting your head, your eyes met his, your cheeks burning with heat and hands shaking. “That I like you, and not Sapnap.”
Dream froze, his brain short-circuiting in his head.
You liked him.
You liked him back.
A grin spread across his face. This was possibly the greatest day of his life.
Without wasting another minute, he pulled you into his arms, practically crushing you to his chest. You squeaked at the sudden movement, your heart swelling in your chest at the sudden display of affection. “Huh—”
“Thank god,” he murmured in your ear, his voice soaked in relief. “I genuinely thought that you were going to reject me.”
You wrapped your arms around him, careful to be gentle with his back, and smiled into his shoulder. “I thought I was being obvious, but I guess you’re just really stupid.”
Dream sighed, dizzy with affection and something that felt like love.
“Yeah, I am.”
Tumblr media
Dream let out a yawn as he walked into the living room. “Good morning,” he said, eyes darting around the room. “Has anyone seen my—”
He stopped dead in his tracks when his eyes landed on you. On the other side of the room, you were curled into the couch like you almost always were in the morning. But this time, you were wearing a green hoodie. His green hoodie.
His heart melted at the sight.
He didn’t think it was possible for you to be anymore beautiful, yet here you were, destroying all of his expectations. You never ceased to amaze him with just how wondrous you were.
He sighed, striding to the other side of the room and settling in next to you on the couch. “Never mind,” he murmured, leaning in close to nuzzle his face next to yours. “I found it.”
You giggled at his touch, pushing his face away from you. “Ugh, you’re so cheesy.”
He rolled his eyes at you, grinning. “Don’t act like you don’t eat it up.”
You huffed, turning away from him. “I’m not saying anything.”
Sapnap walked in while Dream laughed at your expression, a glass of milk in hand. “Morning,” he greeted, sitting down on the couch opposite of you two. He spared a single glance in your direction before asking, “Are you two being gross, again?”
Dream‘s grin widened. “You know it.”
Sapnap gagged as Dream leaned in close to your face, pressing a kiss to your cheek. “Ewww.”
Turning to face your boyfriend, you pressed a hand to his cheek and cooed. “Clay.” He leaned into your touch, his lips curling. He was right. His name did sound lovely on your lips,
You returned his smile with one of your own, moving your hand away from his cheek and towards his hairline.
All of a sudden, you flicked his forehead, pain shooting through his skull as he jumped.
“Ow!” he yelped, wincing at the slight sting of your nail against his skin. He rubbed at the red skin, glaring at you. “Why’d you do that?”
You smiled sweetly at him, but he could see your eyes glint devilishly. “Because you’re an idiot for not realizing I liked you sooner.”
From the other side of the room, Sapnap let out a cackle, pointing at Dream. “Suck it, green boy!”
Dream’s brow twitched and a dark grin crossed his face as he stood up, cracking his knuckles. “Oh, Sapnap—”
Let’s just say that Sapnap needed more than a few ice packs, that day.

the great adventures of y/n tommy jack and tubbo
requested: yes/no
an: part 4 of the great adventures series
pairing: platonic y/n/tommy/jack/tubbo
warning: cursing
It was the afternoon before your new adventure with your friends. you had no idea what to expect, however everyone else knew even ranboo, and he wasn’t even joining you all. you would be lying if you said you weren’t nervous, especially after hearing some of tommys plans for future uploads. tubbo had been trying to drop hints about what was going to happen. You honestly couldn’t tell if he was excited or nervous, either way you could tell it was going to be a once in a lifetime opportunity and boy were you excited. the sound of knocking pulled you from your thoughts.
“hi y/n! sorry for the unexpected visit, i tried to call you but it wouldn’t go through.”
“oh god sorry, tubbo, my phones on charge upstairs, ive just finished babysitting my friends twitch chat.”
“that’s okay, tommy wanted me to see if you want to stay the night as i can take you with me now. he said something about it saving time tomorrow as jack won’t have to go as far and we can get there earlier, i honestly just think he’s slightly nervous and wants to spend time with someone.”
“i’ve not prepared a bag or anything as i was just planning on grabbing everything i needed in the morning, but i’m down to go with you. i’ll pack a bag real quick, make yourself feel at home. you can stay down here or come upstairs with me.”
tubbo followed you upstairs, and helped you pick which outfits would be the best to wear for the trip. around 10 minutes later you finished packing your bag and turned around to see a very pale tubbo, dropping your bag to the floor you pulled a chair up to your bed sitting opposite him.
“you feeling okay tubs?”
“just nerves, I'll be alright, are you ready to go?”
“ready if you are!”
the journey to tommys was relatively quick, you spent it talking about group plans for when ranboo comes to the uk.
tubbo: almost here!
tommy: yes! want to stream for a bit later, just something small could do laugh and the stream ends. i’ll go talk to my mum now!
•••
tubbo: please open the door
tommy: on it
the pair of you stood at the door waiting for tommy to unlock it
“TUBBO! Y/N I'M GLAD YOU COULD BOTH MAKE IT!”
not too long later, you and tubbo had put everything away and sat with tommy planning out a small stream.
“so i was talking with my parents and we can do an outside stream, and set fire to marshmallows!”
“as much as i love fire tommy i don’t think your parents will appreciate arson in the garden.”
“it’ll be fine now grab a jacket, we need to go walk to the shop.”
the three of you set off determined to get to the shop and back before it got dark, tommy and tubbo walked on either side of you as they want you to feel safe. thankfully the shop was only around the corner so you were all only out for about 20 minutes maximum, you probably could have made it back earlier but you stopped every time you saw a pretty rock.
“y/n come on we still need to stream!”
“did you tweet that you were streaming?”
“no he didn’t.”
“then come and look at this pretty rock!”
tommy and tubbo couldn’t help but laugh at how many rocks you managed to pick up.
•••
“guys i think i’d rather just spend time with you all rather than stream.”
“that’s fine, tommy!!”
the three of you sat around the fire updating one another about plans and opportunitie, coming. the conversation swiftly came to an end when tommy had set fire to a stick claiming it was to make the fire grow. you laughed as you heard his mum yelling at him to stop trying to set you and tubbo on fire.
“sorry about that everyone, but look the fire is big again.”
it got colder as the sun went down, so the three of you sat with a blanket draped over you all. his mum offered to take photos for you and you happily accepted, the pictures looked amazing and you posted it to instagram with the caption ‘i am cold and no one is telling me what’s happening tomorrow.’
it was around 11pm when the three of you agreed it was time to go back inside and sleep.
•••
you and tubbo stayed downstairs and tommy stayed in his room. the sound of tubbos alarm woke the pair of you up.
“turn that fucking thing off!”
“this is the fourth time it’s gone off and you’re still not up?”
“that’s because i’m tired.”
“please get ready jack will be here soon enough.”
realisation finally hit today was the day you were finally about to find out what this once in a lifetime opportunity was. tubbo advised you to wear sensible clothing and not wear the zodiac necklace you always wore, so you decided to wear the hoodie ranboo sent you a week ago and leggings.
“y/n you might wanna tie your hair up.”
“tubbo are you sure you’re feeling okay? you genuinely look ill."
“i’m fine.”
jack: right i’m outside so whenever you’re ready
lani: we’re making our own way later on as the hotel we stayed at is closer
y/n: will someone tell me what we’re doing
ranboo: no
y/n: you’re not even joining us how did you get in the gc
ranboo: magic
y/n: fuck off give me a clue
ranboo: i’ve said it since you dyed your hair neon f/c you’d be able to see from way up in the sky
y/n: what the actual hell is that supposed to mean
•••
soon enough you met up with everyone else and lani started recording.
“we’re skydiving, you ready tubbo?”
“WERE DOING WHAT? HOLY SHIT!”
you honestly couldn’t wait to do this. it was something you had wanted to do for a while, tubbo on the other hand clearly didn’t agree, which was evident through his whining.
you stood with tommy laughing as tubbo sat alone questioning why he agreed to this.
“look at him.”
“he’s is not happy.”
you sat next to jack and tubbo watching the video demonstrating what you will all be doing soon. you let out a nervous laugh, as although you were excited, you couldn’t help but be a bit nervous.
“you could fall into the engine and get chopped up.”
“tommy stop scaring tubbo!”
“what if the parachute doesn’t work?”
“free fall to your death.”
“y/n you’re not helping!”
you stood recording tubbo laying on the floor once again whining.
“tubbo there are so many people behind you!”
“i’m sure the parachute won’t fail tubbo, but if it does it was lovely knowing you!”
“uuuuuuugh!”
“i fully agree bo.”
soon enough you tommy and jack joined tubbo on the floor.
“look at the clouds.”
“we’re going to be in them soon.”
“hell yeah!”
“ughhhh!”
you tried not to laugh trying to calm tubbo down a bit before you all jumped out a plane, which worked until you left him alone with tommy whilst you spoke to jack for a while.
“to be fair that looks quite fun.”
“and dangerous!”
“STOP!”
“well sounds like tubbos thrilled to be here.”
the four of you sat on a bench talking about what’s going to happen, and laughing at tubbos nerves trying to make light of the situation.
“look it’ll be fun, tubbo, provided we don’t die there’s a chance we’ll be in more vlogs.. okay so ignore the black cloud of smoke!”
“that’s not a good omen.”
“shut up!”
you wrapped an arm around tubbo trying to make him feel comfortable and reassure him it’ll be fine, only to be interrupted by jack and tommy bickering about eating before jumping from the plane.
•••
the four of you went to the briefing, at this point you were struggling to contain your excitement, and couldn’t help but laugh out of pure joy.
“no, they are listening, they're just excited.”
after doing training for the jump, you stood with tommy whilst someone questioned him about how he got 9 million subs.
“I just went around being incredibly cool.. doing minecraft.”
you and jack burst out laughing whilst tommy went on to make jokes about how much money he was earning.
•••
it was now almost time to jump out a plane. it was around now nerves were kicking in, so you all went around messing about till you were told it’s time to make your way to get ready.
“let’s go gamers!”
•••
“are you a skydiver enjoyer?”
“i am.”
“well that’s always good... please, don’t let me die!”
“y/n are you scared?”
“no, my ranboo merch will protect me, but if i die can we blame tommy for coming up with this?”
“ranboos not going to believe that you’re wearing the jumper he sent you to jump out a plane.”
a few minutes later you over heard a worker say they’re nervous causing you to tilt your head and blink again, trying to process what was said.
“heh???”
it was now time for the four of you to put the equipment on, so you were ready to jump. jack started talking a lot more than usual at a quicker pace due to the fact he was getting nervous. tommy pointed it out and jack trying to argue he wasn’t made you laugh.
“y/n keeps making a lot of jokes about my parachute being shit.”
“sorry manifold should be fine...more than likely...hopefully. only time will tell really.”
“how you doing buddy?”
“i’m feeling okay. i feel my insides doing inside bits.”
“wonderful!”
you were now all waiting to go as a worker jokes about forgetting something.
“y/n you’re going with him!”
“okay, but why?”
“well you said your ranboo merch will protect you..”
someone went by going rather fast causing you to stare in awe.
“we don’t go that fast, do we?”
“no not unless something goes terribly wrong.”
you all stood there laughing.
“stoppppp!”
“y/n, i’m now thinking you should go with them instead!”
“are you trying to kill me off jack?”
•••
you all set off towards the plane, a mixture of excitement and nerves began kicking in.
“tubbos on a lead.”
“oh i’m really nervous jack.”
“look at y/n!”
lani began to record you, who was now way ahead of the others, so you stopped and waved at lani.
“BYE LANI! HOPEFULLY ILL SEE YOU ON THE OTHER SIDE!”
the others caught up and everyone had their equipment checked again.
“oh dear.. should be fine.”
“i’m alright, don’t worry my ranboo merch will protect us!” you got on first and that when you realised they set you up, so you jumped last as you were more confident and tubbo was jumping first so he could get it out the way.
you all sat on the plane and waved at the camera.
“hi there!”
“hello!”
“hi!”
“please don’t let us die!”
“we’re really jumping out a plane with a dream stan.”
“this is the highest we’ve ever been.”
“gamers in a plane whatever will they do...hopefully not die!”
“Y/N!”
“sorry tubbo!”
you were currently at 2,000 feet and sat looking out the window waiting to reach 14,000 feet. jack turned to you and tommy, “i can’t believe you’re jumping out the plane in philza merch and y/ns jumping out in ranboo merch.”
“if i die at least ill look great doing it.”
12,000 feet later it was now tubbos turn to jump, he looked back at you all.
“YOU GOT THIS TUBBO!!”
you watched as tubbo went.
“GOOD LUCK TOMMY!”
“WHAT DO YOU MEAN GOOD LUCK? Y/N?”
“BYEEEEE!”
you laughed as tommy went.
“see you later jack!”
you gave jack a high-five and watched as he went.
“holy shit they actually did it!”
“are you ready, y/n?”
“hell yeah, let’s do this!”
you laughed as you jumped, you couldn’t believe you actually got to jump out of a plane, you waved at camera.
lani met the others as they landed and began telling them about it.
“wait where’s y/n?”
“there they are!”
“Y/N!”
the others ran up to you as you landed.
“i’m glad you didn’t die!”
“thanks jack!”
•••
“would you all do it again?”
“yeah.”
“no.”
“maybe, i’m not sure.”
“i reckon so.”
not too long later, you were all given certificates to celebrate the fact you had jumped out a plane.
“yay it made nearly dying worth it!”
“you’re so dramatic!”
•••
you thought the day was over and that you were going home, little did you know that wasn’t the case.
“were not done for the day.”
“what?”
“heh?”
“you’re tilting your head again.”
“i know it’s because i’m confused!”
“anyway, what do you mean we’re not done?”
“you know george, he’s arrived!”
“gogy!”
“GOGY!”
“can i have a nap in the car please? i’m so exhausted."

Now you want to take it a little farther with Zemo but you also want Bucky there as a bit of a...guide. A/N: this was actually requested (see below)! I never, ever thought the original Around You Neck would be taken this far but it certainly has gone on a journey. You don’t technically need to read each part to understand this one but if you’d like to see the progression, please feel free. I hope this lives up to any and all expectations!
Masterlist | Part 1 | Part 2
Tumblr media
As much as you didn’t totally want to admit it, you couldn’t stop thinking about Zemo.
Ever since the sexual ventures you had partaken in with him and Bucky, your opinion on him had...shifted. While, no, you weren’t looking at him as some sort of romantic conquer (you were still very much dedicated to your boyfriend) you couldn’t help but wonder what it’d be like for him to join again. Maybe this time a bit more...hands-on.
Truly, though, you never thought you were actually going to act on these ideas. In fact, you figured you hid your wandering mind pretty well. Some sneaky glances at Zemo and brushes of hands weren’t much to raise any alarms, especially when you were constantly in close proximity with said person. It truly didn’t get closer than being in their literal home. But you forgot to take into account the fact Bucky wasn’t exactly of normal human nature. His senses were dialed up to eleven - especially when you were in the room.
Your shameful confession came out one afternoon. Bucky had heard you giggle at something Zemo had said and nearly punched a hole through the nearest wall before grabbing your arm. While nothing crazy, he did throw you into the nearest room with some force, anger practically emitting from him in waves.
“What the fuck are you doing?” He asked once the room to the door was shut. You backed away, quite surprised by the outburst, as Bucky stalked towards you, seething.
“W-What?”
“Don’t try to blame dumb with me,” he scoffed, arms folded with a pointed look on his face. “Why are you making googly eyes at Zemo?”
“Googly eyes-,”
Bucky cut you off. “And laughing like he’s the funniest fucking person on the planet? What game are you playing here, dear?”
That goddamn nickname made you cringe. Ever since Zemo restored to calling you that during the intimate encounter, Bucky hasn’t let it go, using it like some weapon.
You shake your head, trying your best to play this off. Sure, you had some words of explanation for your boyfriend but you didn’t want it to come out right now. “I-I really don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“You don’t know what I’m talking about?” Bucky raised his brows in surprise. “So, you haven’t been shooting little glances at him? Or how about when your hand just so happens to end up on his shoulder? That’s definitely my favorite.” His tone was so lifeless. You gulped.
An awkward pause settled as you tried averting your gaze anywhere but at your annoyed boyfriend. This task proved to be impossible. “Bucky, please-,”
“You want to be with him, don’t you?” His question filled the room. “God, I knew this was going to happen. I never should’ve…”
You began shaking your head furiously. “Not in that way.”
“Not in that… Well then in what fucking way?”
You looked down at your hands, fiddling with your fingers anxiously. You took a deep breath. “I think we should… We should bring him into our, um, activities again.”
The silence that followed your confession was nerve-wracking. You didn’t have the guts to look at Bucky, just standing there patiently waiting on his response. The longer he stalled the more foolish you felt like you had actually cheated on him when that wasn’t anywhere near the truth.
For a moment, you thought he wasn’t going to say anything, just storm out or something, but instead, he let out a nervous cough and asked, “In what way would you- would you want him to join us?”
You slowly gather the courage to face your boyfriend again. He looked genuinely curious, lacking any sort of rage you had assumed would be present. No, instead, he appeared interested, not even mocking you in any way. This all made you feel quite more comfortable about the truth getting out. You took a moment to recollect yourself and get your pounding heart under control.
“Well… I can’t deny that I want to sleep with him.”
“I knew it-,”
“But,” your voice raised, cutting off Bucky, “I want you there to sort of, like, l-lead him.”
Bucky cocked his head. “Lead him?”
You nodded, taking a few steps closer to your boyfriend, practically as close as you humanly could. “Tell him what to do, how to please me. Only you know that, honey.” You chuckled, placing a light hand on his chest. “Picture it: Another man wants to ravish me, but you… Only you know how to get me going. Only you know what I want, how to make me squirm. Only you can teach him and wouldn’t that just be…” Your words trailed off as your eyes fluttered shut at the thought, a soft moan leaving your lips. When you opened them again, Bucky was searching your face with great intensity.
“You really want this, don’t you?” He asked. You shyly nodded. Bucky took a moment before continuing, “You want to be watched while you get fucked again?”
“Bucky…”
He let out a dangerous laugh. “My naughty little exhibitionist,” he shook his head, a knowing smirk playing at his lips now. You couldn’t believe he was coming around to the idea but the fact he was made your core already so wet. “Okay, doll. Let’s see what we can do.”
***
Bucky had decided to take the lead when it came to bringing this up with Zemo. Still ever such the dominant figure in your relationship, he instructed you to wait in the guest room you had been lent while he approached the Baron.
Amazingly, you didn’t have to wait long. Within moments, your heart was dropping as the door to the room was pushed open by Bucky. Zemo followed swiftly behind with an unreadable expression.
Both men stopped at the foot of the bed, right in front of you. You looked up at them, curiously.
“So - So did you explain…”
“James did enlighten me with your...desires,” Zemo said, a little smirk playing on his lips. “I must say, dear. You are quite the little minx.”
Your jaw went slack at his words, unsure of what to say. Only Bucky liked calling you that. But you certainly didn’t hate it rolling off Zemo’s tongue like that.
“Maybe you should cool it with the pet names,” Bucky snapped.
Zemo glanced at him. “I don’t know, James, she seems to enjoy it.”
You clenched your thighs, unable to deny it. Bucky didn’t miss that little movement but chose to not acknowledge it.
“I’m taking the lead here and if I say no pet names then there are no pet names,” Bucky said, his voice slow and serious as he stared down Zemo. “Got it?” You couldn’t believe the sight in front of you. Nothing had even explicitly happened yet and there was already a puddle forming in your panties.
“Very well,” Zemo eventually agreed. Slowly, right in front of you, he began removing articles of his clothing. This was happening. “How would you like me then?”
“I-,”
Bucky cut you off. “When you’re done, undress her.” Zemo didn’t say anything but just nodded, stripping down until he was in all his bare glory right in front of you. You tried to not stare, focusing instead strictly on his face which held the tiniest smirk, as he began teasingly running his hands under the fabric of your shirt.
You couldn’t believe how hot you were finding this. Your control was pretty much gone, all solely in the trust of Bucky and Zemo. A diabolical pair. You obeyed when Zemo motioned for you to lift your arms. Within no time, you were totally open and bare in front of the men.
Zemo’s hand lingered on your face, stroking your cheek softly. You gasped at the motions. He came close to running his thumb along your lips but then Bucky spoke up, “Enough. Lay her down.”
Zemo didn’t waste another second pushing you back onto the bed. He was crawling on top of you in no time, not waiting for another command before capturing your lips with his. It felt like a brand new world. His movements in the kiss, deep and powerful, were so unlike Bucky’s. Bucky’s had meaning, years of love behind them. There was nothing like that with Zemo, just the understanding of what you’re here to do. It took your breath away.
Bucky scoffed when you two pulled apart. “I’ll let that slide for now. Start warming her up, touch her. It won’t take much, though. Can already see she’s dripping onto the sheets.”
Your cheeks burned at the borderline degrading words from your boyfriend but Zemo didn’t look phased. Instead, while one hand was planted next to your head, his other began running up and down you. His fingers were so light and teasing. They ran over your breast, pulling lightly at your skin, earning a surprised gasp from you. Zemo looked quite pleased with himself as he continued, his hand now making its way lower on your body. He stopped just above the apex of your thighs, hovering temptingly.
“Touch her,” Bucky commanded, his voice strained and...needy? You didn’t have much time to think too hard about it before Zemo was plunging two fingers right into your core, the wetness allowing the easiest of access. You cried out in surprise earning a low chuckle from Zemo. He seemed quite amused by how vocal you could be.
“Feel good?” He asked, mockingly. His fingers curled within you as they pumped in and out, your walls clenching around them desperately. You nodded weakly.
Bucky groaned. “Touch her clit. Now.”
Zemo happily complied. The palm of his hand began pressing against your clit with every thrust, forcefully. At one point, he stilled his fingers in you, giving your clit his full, undivided attention. You yelped, twisting at the overwhelming sensation of the fingering and circling.
Pleasure was running through you at an almost unbearing amount. It all escalated when your head lolled to the side and your eyes fell on Bucky. He was leaning against the wall across from the bed, hands fisted at his side, erection clearly pressing against the fabric of his pants. His gaze was hard, his pupils wide. He was watching so intensely yet with just the littlest hint of wonder. It hit you - Bucky was starting to actually enjoy this.
Zemo, on the other hand, wasn’t happy he lost your attention. A rough hand came up to your neck, forcing you to look back at him. He roughly pressed his forehead to yours, not letting your eyes wander even in the slightest. All you could do was stare back at his eyes while he fucked you relentlessly with his fingers.
“Eyes on me,” Zemo gritted.
“Watch yourself, Zemo,” Bucky snapped back.
Zemo’s grip on your neck got tighter and you were done for. That fucker really knew your weak points. The fingering was skilled but the grip on your throat... your body couldn’t take it all. You yelled out as your orgasm ran through you, your body jerking in response to it all. Zemo didn’t lighten anything up, though, forcing you to take it all until you were practically clawing at him, begging to stop.
“That’s enough,” Bucky shouted. Zemo gave a dangerous chuckle before removing his fingers, licking each one as if they were a meal to be savored. But Bucky wasn’t close to being intimidated by the other man as he continued his commands, “I’d fuck her now if I were you. She’s getting antsy.”
“I think she’s always antsy,” Zemo sneered. “Maybe I want to make her wait a bit longer. Make her really cherish it.”
Your eyes were still forcefully locked on Zemo until Bucky stomped towards the bed and grabbed the man by the back of his neck, hoisting him away from you. His hand left your throat unwillingly.
In a chilling tone you don’t think you ever heard from Bucky before, he whispered in Zemo’s ear, “I’m making the calls, Zemo, remember? You’re obeying me. If I say fuck her, then you fuck her.” He pushed the man back down, his head falling to the crook of your neck. When he regained his strength, Zemo pulled away to look at you. An unsettling smile played on his lips.
“As you wish,” he muttered and, in one swift, he entered you. Fully. No true warning. You gasped in utter shock at the boldness. You hadn’t expected it to take a moment or two for you to adjust to him. He was different from what you were used to with Bucky. Bucky had the length, but Zemo had the girth. He was stretching you in a whole new way and once you were past the shock, you soaked in all of it.
Zemo just halted inside you, waiting for you to face him. You hadn’t even realized your eyes had closed until you were being forced to reopen them. Once you gave a little nod - your way of begging at this point - Zemo began moving in and out. His pace was strong, so determined.
He must’ve seemed like a man deprived because Bucky barked out, “Slower. Now you can let her wait for it. Let her feel it. She gets so needy sometimes she just has to be taught some patience.”
Reluctantly, Zemo complied, slowing his motions. You couldn’t even imagine the power-high Bucky must’ve been on at that moment. But you didn’t have much time to think about it as Zemo began dragging his full length out of you and reentering slowly, just as instructed. You moaned loudly as the pleasure built.
“You like that? Huh? Sure sounds like it,” Zemo grunted in your ear. “You make the prettiest little noises.”
Your eyes fluttered shut once more as you weakly nodded. But your chance to get lost in the sensations was interrupted by Bucky. Suddenly, he was at the side of the bed, his metal hand coming around your neck and turning your head to face him now.
“Use your words, doll,” he whispered, his eyes never leaving your worn-out expression. Your body jolted with each of Zemo’s thrusts. Bucky paid no mind to the other man, keeping his focus on you and continuing, “Tell him how you’re feeling. It feels good, doesn’t it? Do you like having another man fuck you while I watch? I gotta admit, when you first brought it up I was hesitant but you’re right. There is something about knowing what you need. What makes your little pussy all fucking wet. He may be on top of you but I’m the one controlling your pleasure. You scream for me.”
“Yes, Bucky, yes” was all you could chant as everything began boiling up inside you.
Here you were screaming one man’s name while the other pounded you. There was the hand on your throat - the metal hand. Zemo taking his sweet time delivering his thrusts. The little pressure on your clit every time he’d push in you. Both of the men were only paying attention to you… It was so much at once yet exactly what you needed. Within seconds of Bucky finishing his little monologue, you were cumming hard around Zemo’s cock. It must’ve triggered something in Zemo as well because he wasn’t that far behind.
“Faster,” Bucky suddenly demanded. “Until she can’t take it anymore.”
Zemo sure wasn't hesitating on this one. You felt him fill you fully while his thrusts didn’t falter. He was making sure you two were fucked good. You clawed at Bucky’s arm, wanting something to hold onto as you rode out the orgasm. He kept his grip on your throat tight and careful, watching you with those overwhelming eyes as you came on another man’s cock.
After a couple more weak thrusts, Zemo gave a final strong one before pulling out of you completely, making you whimper. Zemo gave you a soft smile before placing a kiss on your forehead. Once calmed down, he turned his serious self once again and began reclaiming his clothing items. You couldn’t believe how he could just turn it all on and off with a flip of a switch as if you weren’t lying on the bed fucked out mostly because of him. But that was what you had felt from him. It was all just about finding pleasure. And you both were successful.
Bucky didn’t pay any attention to the other man’s actions. He was still locked on you. His hand had left your throat now and was now caressing your cheek. You giggled at the softness, such a stark contrast to just moments before.
Fully dressed now, Zemo cleared his throat, pulling you and Bucky’s attention away from one another. You glanced over at the man. He nodded to you both. “Thank you for the...invitation,” Zemo said. “Better than I could’ve ever imagined.” With that, he promptly exited as powerful and bold as he had entered.
You were alone with Bucky now, unsure of what to actually say.
“Did you enjoy yourself, doll?” Bucky eventually broke the silence. “Better than you could’ve ever imagined?”
You playfully rolled your eyes. His little tinge of jealousy was coming back despite being thoroughly turned on. Which reminded you…
“I did enjoy myself,” you confirmed. “But I think I could have just a little bit more fun.” Regaining your strength, you shifted to a kneeling position on the bed. Your hand began creeping its way up Bucky’s jean-covered thigh to where his erection was still being strained against the material.
Bucky let out a low chuckle as your hand pressed over his covered cock. “You just don’t know when to quit, huh? My insatiable little girl.”
You blushed. “I just want to make sure you enjoyed yourself.”
“Oh, sweetheart, you have no idea.”

In My Head - The Darkling x Reader
Supppeer angsty and kinda sad?
The fire engulfed the golden kefta in a water-like rhythm. The cracks and sparks echoed in the open field amongst the silence that settled around all of you. Alina was exhausted, Zoya was grieving, the Ketterdam criminals looked shaken too. But you were unmoving, as still as a painting and not showing a single emotion. They had all witnessed your heartbreak as it fell and crashed the world around you, breaking every part of you. They watched as realization flooded you that you never truly knew Aleksander. They watched as he tore your heart from your chest and threw it into the depths of the Fold to rot.
Painted a picture,
I thought I knew you well
It was humiliating. Alina had tried to warn you but you played her off as selfish and unwilling to use her powers for the good of all Grisha. You told her she was stupid and foolish for loving an otkazat'sya when in reality you were the fool for loving a man that didn't exist.
You told her she was crazy, that Aleksander would never lie to you and that he was good because you knew him. In truth, you were no better than him. You blindly followed everything he said, completely ignoring the alarm bells in your head. You had grown used to them as weeks went by, to the point of the alarm playing a low comforting tune in your mind all day and all night.
There weren't enough apologies in the world to say sorry for the things you'd done and said to Alina and she'd insisted that no apology was necessary because it wasn't your fault, 'It's not your fault you only see the good things about people' she whispered to you before she left to change. But the good things about him weren't there; they never existed. It was all in your head, a mind so desperate for love it concocted a whole new Aleksander, one which you loved so much and would do anything for.
I got a habit of seeing what isn't there
'We were all fooled Y/N, Don't blame it all on yourself' Despite her grieving and sorrow, Zoya's hand rested on your shoulder briefly as a sign of comfort. Without her, you wouldn't have been here right now, alive and breathing.
'I don't blame myself. I hate myself for being so blind'
'Me too'
I thought that you were the one
But it was all in my head
------
You could feel the nothingness of the Fold threading through your hair even inside Alina's tunnel of safety. You stared at her shackled feet, pushing the guilt away and replacing it with a sense of righteousness. There was nothing else that could be done to keep her in check, if she wanted to escape and hide from her destiny forever then she would do so over your dead body.
The Fold needed to be gone and if chaining her to the skiff was going to be the only way she obeyed then so be it. Your mind quickly spiraled back to her hasty words back in the tent. She was panicked and desperate, clinging to your arm like a wailing child begging to be heard. Her lies were bizarre and abundant, no doubt the works from her long journey to the Stag but they were unbelievable. So extreme even a Fjerdan would laugh at their ridiculousness.
The skiff suddenly stopped, Novokribirsk visible in the distance with lines of First-Army troops standing in neat lines.
'Why have we stopped?' A dignitary asked and you wondered the same thing. You searched the skiff for anyone with an explanation, but everyone looked equally as confused but Alina looked mortified. What is going on?
'One more demonstration. You’ve seen what the Sun Summoner can do' You whipped your head around to him slightly moving away but his arm pulled you back to his side with an edge. You heard the loud jangle of Alina's chains as she tried to move. 'Now bear witness to what I can do… with her power.'
He pushed you to Ivan, who took no time in holding you back by the arms, caging you in his grasp. You resisted on the simple basis that you didn't know why you were being restrained just like Alina but the answer came all too soon. There was no time to shout or gasp as Aleksander raised his own hands and the black shadows of the Fold expanded into Novokribirsk, killing everything in its path.
You stood motionless as the horrible sounds of volcra swarming and humans screaming flooded the air. Alina's words came back to you again but you didn't listen. No, you didn't want to. Zoya seemingly came down from the mainsail and looked at the black void in a hypnosis-like stare but nobody dared say anything. There was a silence on the skiff while hundreds and thousands of lives ceased to exist in a matter of seconds.
The comforting tune in your head had suddenly turned into a blinding screech, rendering you frozen and flabbergasted. He did this, Aleksander did this. How could he do this? You tried to fight the heartrenderer off, squirming desperately in his arms to cover your ears from the slaughtering sounds. Your knees had given out by now and Alina was on the floor of the skiff, struggling to get up due to the heavy and awkward chains. I put them there.
'Today, we redraw all the maps. With the power of the Sun Summoner at my command, I control the Fold.' A sob erupted from your throat right at the minute you realized Alina was right. You didn't listen, this is all my fault. Ivan pulled you back up, roughly smacking a hand over your mouth to stop your pathetic cried of betrayal. You fought a little harder, trashing around in hopes of escaping his hold or at least getting someone's attention but nobody seemed to care. They all feared for their lives.
'All countries will answer to us. For who would oppose us now?' He briefly shot a look in your direction but spared you no emotion. It was then that you saw the real Aleksander, blood-thirsty for power and revenge. The Black Heretic.
Everything you are made you
Everything you aren't
The next five minutes were a complete blur. You somehow found yourself fighting for your life and those around you. Your head was empty of its usual whirling thoughts as survival mode kicked in. Kill or be killed. You stopped counting how many hits you got or how many bruises were forming on your body. It was primal and in your Grisha nature to protect those around you, and in that haste of battle you made your allegiance to Alina obvious.
There was no time to think about Aleksander. You weren't quite sure you wanted to think about him. He was on this skiff with you, on the opposing side that just murdered a town full of people yet the part of your brain, your imagination, craved to be by his side. To please him by obeying, to get his touch in return. You were addicted to the man who had ruined your innocence.
'You betrayed me' His voice was right behind you as was his hand, creeping up the side of your throat and forcefully pushing you against the barrier of the skiff, ready to throw you over to the unlit Fold.
'I betrayed you?!' Your shout was loud and hearty, overflowing with sadness and shame at being relieved for being next to him again. You clawed at his tightening hand, feeling your airways restrict and your vision become fainter and fainter. You would die at the hands of the man you loved.
'Look what you made me do Y/N, do you think I want to kill you?' Your head bopped but your stupid heart grasped at the sadness in his words, he still loves me. 'I don't want to. I really don't'
'Then don't' you chocked out, your hold on his wrists becoming limp. You felt the ever-so familiar touch of his lips grace your temple and then he retreated.
The world went dark but your body hit the deck of the skiff, not the soft sands of the Fold and your lungs abruptly filled with forced Squaller air.
Yes, I did it to myself, yeah
Thought you were somebody else
'What are you going to do now?' You still sat by the fire while everyone stood. Zoya had left your side and was talking with Alina but you filtered out the noise. Your head was too full of your own self-hatred to stand any more voices so Jesper's question to you went unnoticed. 'Y/N?'
You looked at him and shrugged. You didn't want to move, your body still ached too much from being dragged away from the brink of death to make your way somewhere safe.
You would never admit it around anyone, but as Alina spoke of the Darkling being dead, a wave of grief washed over you. It was cold and unpleasant; unwelcome. But you knew love didn't disappear overnight. You didn't know who saved you on the skiff, whether it was he who had let you go, or was it Zoya who battled to have you freed from his grasp.
As much as you had created the Aleksander you viewed, the foundations were all him, you had only added on or omitted the parts you did and didn't like. You prayed it was him who spared you, you prayed there was something real about your Aleksander, that that was a foundation.
The tears that fell down your face in a stream were assumed to be for the betrayal and the horridness of what the Darkling had done to you and others, when if fact they were for him. You cried because you would never see him again, you cried because the people who had helped you get out of the Fold were the same people who had killed him.
-------
When Mal caught your deathly stare in his direction, he had to do a double-take. You had the same look in your eyes as the General did when he fought him in the Fold, that exact replica of coldness and rage; revenge. But surely he was wrong. You were happy to know the Heretic was dead. He betrayed you the most out of everyone here and almost killed you. Why would you be vengeful?
He waved it off with a shake, it's all in my head.

Temporary Home: Chapter 1
Guardians of the Galaxy fanfic | Reader x Guardians (With Yondu and Kraglin!) Guest starring Nick Fury and Maria Hill
Summary: The Guardians have pissed off some really dangerous people and need to lie low. Apparently your home is the perfect place to keep them, according to Fury.
Part 2 Here
Author’s Note: This will be multiple chapters, I already have so many scenes for this in my head. I hope you guys like it!
Word Count: 6,610
You had been called into a sudden emergency meeting one afternoon, and walked in expecting to be sent on perhaps an urgent but still run-of-the-mill mission, or briefed on a sudden change to an existing case. You didn't expect to essentially become the babysitter for eight aliens. Well, one of them was human, but still.
You waited in the briefing room with five other agents and Maria Hill. One of your fellow agents, you thought her name was Stacy, tried asking what the meeting was about, and Maria would only reply to wait for Fury, and that he should be there soon.
Admittedly that made you a little nervous. It wasn't often that you didn't get any information before a meeting, but you tried not to think too much into it.
Fury arrived a few minutes later followed by six people you had never seen before.
Two of the men looked normal enough- that is to say, human- but they were the only two. One with red hair and another with strange tattoos on his neck. Then there was a large shirtless greenish/greyish man with what looked at first glance to be many swirly red tattoos covering his body. He had what you thought was a raccoon holding a wooden doll sitting on his shoulder, until the raccoon jumped down onto the table and you saw that not only did the raccoon walk upright, but the "wooden doll" was actually alive, and walked around as well when set upon the table. The other man was a rough looking type, and he was as blue as the sky with what appeared to be a red metal mow-hawk. There were two women with them as well, a taller green one who looked like she could kill you without blinking, and a smaller paler one with antennae who actually looked kinda scared to be there, as she was all but hiding behind the larger shirtless man.
Now, with your line of work you were of course aware of the reality of aliens, but these were actually the first you'd seen up close other than some of the Skrull people Fury worked with.
This group, however, seemed a little... dysfunctional. The red haired man said something snarky to the raccoon, and to your surprise the raccoon spoke back, saying something equally snarky in return before snapping at the red haired man's hand. The man then mimed smacking the raccoon across the room only to then be smacked in the back of the head by the green woman, earning snickers from both neck-tattoo guy and the blue man.
Fury loudly plopped a folder on the table and looked at the group sternly, prompting them to silence. He then turned to you and your fellow agents. "You're probably wondering why I called you all here." Not waiting for an answer he continued, "In simplest terms, we need to provide sanctuary for this lot because they went and pissed off some very dangerous people, and the Nova Corps urgently insists that they need protection."
An agent to your right, you didn't know his name, spoke up. "Then why aren't they hiding them? Why pawn them on us?"
"This is their way of hiding them. Earth is considered primitive by the rest of the galaxy's standards. We have virtually no contact outside this planet, and Nova figured this would be one of the last places anyone might look. Buy them some time to diffuse the situation with the people after these guys before they blow them to pieces."
For seemingly no reason, the red haired man then flicked the raccoon, only to fall on his ass when the raccoon lunged at him, receiving many annoyed looks from the rest of the group.
The same agent spoke again, confusion on his face. "Pardon me, but why is this Nova Corps putting all this effort into hiding... them?" The inflection was clear. What was so special about these dumbasses?
Fury, after witnessing the buffoonery, pinched the bridge of his nose. "Well, in addition to them being idiots." He punctuated the sentence with a sharp look toward the group, making the man and raccoon attempt to straighten up. "They've also managed to save the galaxy on more than one occasion. Nova is understandably less than willing to see them come to deadly harm. This is where you come in. We can't keep them here, so we need agents who can house them until everything blows over. Now, we're considering dividing them them among the five of you-"
"Wait! Whoa whoa whoa! You never said we'd be split up! We're a team! You can't split us up!" cried the red haired man. The rest of the group seemed agitated as well, and started to argue with Fury.
You heard a couple agents to your left whispering that they were in no way going to house any of them, and you couldn't help but agree as you watched the scene in front of you.
The blue man had the red haired man by the arm, irritably telling the younger to "Calm down, boy!" as the red haired man tried to pull away, yelling and pointing at Fury about how "This wasn't the deal!" The green woman was also yelling at the red haired man, something about having no choice if they wanted everyone to be safe, as the neck-tattoo guy just stood there, almost as if he didn't know whether to be angry or sad. The woman with the antennae looked even more frightened, now burying her face into the chest of the large tattooed man while he simultaneously patted her head comfortingly and somehow also managed a deadly look at your director. The raccoon had now hopped back on the table to comfort the little wooden creature, which was now crying, soothing it and saying, "It's ok, buddy, I'm not gonna let them separate us, I promise. Look at me, it's gonna be fine."
That's all it took, and you cursed yourself.
You rubbed a hand down your face. Damn it. "I'll do it." you said, voice raised just loud enough to be heard over the commotion.
Loud enough to capture Fury's attention. He turned away from the now quieting group and shared a brief look with Agent Hill. "What was that?"
You sighed, a voice in your mind yelling at you to reconsider. "I've got a place. Out of the way." Wait, what the hell are you doing? "I can take them." No. Turn back! It's not too late! "I mean, people will have to double up in the bedrooms, but I have the space to take them all." Dammit! What's wrong with you!?
Fury nodded. "Where do you live?"
"In the interest of security, sir, I think that's a conversation best had in private."
Fury smiled. "Good answer."
***
After Fury dismissed the other agents and discussed the whereabouts of your home and its security, he surprised you by declaring that you'd all be leaving within the hour.
You were taken a bit aback, having assumed you'd have some time to prepare, but agreed, assuming that time must be of the essence. Preparations could be made as you went, you supposed.
The ride to your home was a bit awkward, to be honest. Fury split the group between your car and a larger black SUV that he would be driving. In your vehicle you transported the red haired man and the green woman, who's names you learned were Peter and Gamora, along with agent Maria Hill in the front passenger seat. You assumed she had been assigned to ride with you rather than Fury for security purposes, but you didn't ask. Fury transported the rest, which you were sure would have been an interesting ride to say the least.
Your journey, however, was quite quiet. Peter kept trying to make conversation, but it never went much further than a couple-word answers from you or Maria. Reason being that you honestly just didn't know what to say, and you weren't exactly the most open book, and you'd never known Maria to be much of a conversationalist while on the job, though you two usually got on pretty well together.
Your home was an old double storey stone farmhouse set in the countryside, miles away from the nearest house, and even further away from the nearest town. The back of the property was a decent sized lot that emptied into a forest that also shielded around the sides, and at the front there were hedges and tall trees blocking the property from the sight of nearest road. It was easy to miss if you didn't know where to find the drive path that turned off the main road and winded up to the house. For all intents and purposes, to any average person taking a country drive, it was as if it wasn't even there, lost among the vast amount of trees.
Therefore, when you did finally arrive at your home a good bit later, you were more than surprised to find three black vans already parked in your drive. You were first alarmed, worried that somehow your location had already been compromised. You stayed behind the wheel for a moment, unsure of what to do, until you looked in the rearview mirror to see Fury and his lot exiting his vehicle. You looked to Maria in confusion.
"Yeah, there may be a bit more you need to be briefed on." she said in reply to a question that hadn't left your lips, smiling apologetically.
You got out of your car, followed by the rest of your passengers, and walked over to Fury who was standing in front of his passengers as they stared up at their new (hopefully) temporary lodging.
"What's going on here?" you asked when you reached him, gesturing to the men coming out of your house.
"Slow workmanship. They should have been done and gone 30 minutes ago." Fury said flatly, gazing at a man who nodded apologetically to the director and spoke into his walkie for his men to wrap up.
"Fury-" you say, your tone unamused.
"Agent Hill was supposed to brief you on the way over." he said, looking past you to Maria with a raised eyebrow.
"I considered that it might be better to wait until we reached the destination, sir, rather than inside of a moving vehicle, considering."
Fury half nodded as if in agreement, then turned to look back at your home. "We already scoped your place out a week ago. You're right, it was nearly the perfect place."
"Excuse me?" you say, eyes widening in confusion and surprise. What the hell did he mean he had already scoped it out a week prior? You had been under the impression these people had just been spontaneously dropped in Fury's lap.
"Your home," he said as if that would clarify things. "We had already looked into it, and other than needing a few adjustments, it was the perfect safe house to hide them."
"You- How-" you sputtered. You took a moment to gather your thoughts. "You mean to tell me that this was all already decided before you ever called that meeting?"
"Of course. It would have been irresponsible to drop them off at the first place we found."
"Then why call the meeting? Why the damn charade if this wasn't really my choice?" You were fighting not to raise your voice too much, but it still came out irritated. You threw an accusatory glance at the group, who were clearly listening in on the conversation, not like you had been quiet enough for them not to hear if they hadn't been. "Were you lot in on this?"
Peter held up his hands and shook his head defensively, as did a few of the others. You only narrowed your eyes and turned back to Fury as he spoke.
"Oh, you always had a choice, I just wanted to make sure you'd be willing." Fury said calmly, only now turning to look at you. "I knew you'd say yes."
"How could you possibly know I'd say yes!?"
"Well you did, didn't you?" You could almost hear laughter in his voice. The fucker practically seemed pleased with himself. You could feel your blood boiling.
"Oh yeah? How do you know I won't take it back after this stunt?"
Fury turned back to watch the vans turn around to exit the drive. "You won't. I know that well enough."
"How can you be so sure?" you say defiantly.
The Guardians look to each other worriedly. What if you did take it back because this Fury guy pissed you off? Would they have to be separated? Would they have to find a whole new planet to hide on?
Yondu eyed you as you asked your director how he was sure you wouldn't take back your offer, expecting him to say that he would be paying you too much to refuse, but he didn't expect the answer that actually came out of Fury's mouth.
"Because you offered with asking how you'd be compensated, and you still haven't asked. That, and I read your face like an open book." He now grinned as he looked at you, saying much softer, "You don't have it in you to turn them away."
You felt your face grow hot and you stuttered a bit before looking up at the sky in defeat, sighing at the darkening clouds beginning to gather overhead, a testament to your torment, to be sure. "Fine." you say. Suddenly remembering what he said, you looked back at him, "What did you mean by adjustments?"
Maria smiled at Fury as she placed a hand on your back and guided you towards the door. The other's followed.
"I know this seems like an intrusion, but we promise we didn't hurt anything. We simply added a couple beds, stocked the pantry, and updated the plumbing and wiring."
"The plumbing was fine," you grumbled, "and I was working on the wiring."
"Your home is just over 200 years old. The plumbing might have been fine when it was just you here, but now you'll be housing eight other people. I think you can understand why we would consider improving it." Fury stated, almost like a reprimand to your stubbornness. You eye him, wondering how he could know how old your home was, but you supposed he knew that the same way he knew where to find your home a week before you ever told him where it was.
Because he was Fury.
Looks were exchanged among the Guardians as they entered the home behind you, surprised to hear of the age of your home to see it in such nice condition. Though, if you had been living here they supposed it shouldn't have come to much surprise that you would have cared for it.
The front door opened up to a large hall featuring a staircase to the left. On either side of the entrance were two more doors.
Maria lead you all through the door on the right into the kitchen to briefly show they had stocked the pantry with some foods they, The Guardians as you heard them referred to as, were used to, to make the transition to Earth foods easier. They would be making bi-weekly supply drops to your home to keep the pantry stocked to feed all of them, but the food would soon be coming only from Earth, as it would be both expensive, and a possible security risk to try and keep importing foods from outer space.
You all then exited the kitchen and travelled up the stairs while Maria explained that everyone's bags had already been placed in the rooms based on what they assumed would be the correct sleeping arrangements. Of course, everyone was free to switch it up at their discretion. Once at the top of the stairs you instinctually step forward and reach up to pull the string for the light, as the hall was a bit dim due to the fading light outside, but you find it missing.
"Where the hell did-" you think softly out loud, looking up to see the whole fixture had been changed. The light then came on by itself and embarrassingly resulted in you startling in surprise. You turn to see Fury grinning slightly while shaking his head, his finger still near a switch that definitely wasn't there before you left the house that morning.
"Man, they weren't kidding when they said you Terran types were primitive, eh Pete?"
You shot the raccoon an offended look before Fury reminded you that they had updated your wiring. You blushed and looked at the new switch suspiciously, wondering how they managed to rewire your house so quickly without destroying the walls, but resisted the urge to sarcastically accuse him of witchcraft lest you give these 'Guardians' the idea that you were actually scared of electricity. Not that you cared what they thought, or anything.
Maria motioned to the first door on the left of the landing, and said to you that they naturally assumed it was the one you slept in, as it appeared to be the only one currently being inhabited. You nodded that she was correct and she continued, opening the door and informing you that they had added an extra bed and had placed Mantis's bag inside. She pointed to the woman with the antennae, indicating that's who she was referring to.
You silently nod again, a gesture that you were accepting of this arrangement. Of everything else they had done, this was one of the lesser intrusive things, next to the pantry. The woman seemed like one of the least annoying of the bunch, so you weren't going to argue. Could be worse. They could have put the raccoon or the dude with red hair in there.
You didn't see, but Mantis let out a sigh of relief at this knowledge that you weren't going to be angry about sharing your room with her. Her mood immediately brightened, convinced she was about to make a new friend.
You peeked into the room as the others pushed forward with Maria. Inside was your wooden framed single sized bed, only now pressed against the right side of the room from where it had previously been centered beneath the window. A new bed had now been set up on the left side of the room, opposite corner from your own, to leave clearance for the attic door. This bed was a black metal framed single, already fitted with grey and white sheets.
You naturally assumed Fury's team decided to add similar beds to the other rooms while also making use of the remaining beds that were already there, and so you didn't follow the others to see. You didn't really care to see, hadn't been in those rooms much in years for a reason.
You just crossed your arms and leaned to rest back against your doorframe and watched on as Maria sorted them into the rooms and Fury took to standing in the corner opposite of you, watching everything.
Fury's team had apparently placed the belongings of the blue man and the man with the neck tattoos in the room directly across from your own, and you learned their names were Yondu and Kraglin, respectively.
They placed the large man, raccoon, and wooden child all in the room further down at the end of the landing on that side, and you learned the large man was called Drax, the raccoon was Rocket, and the tiny wooden child was Groot. Something twisted in your belly seeing the little wooden child shyly peek into the room from atop Drax's shoulder, but you forced it down. No time to think about who previously owned that room right now.
The raccoon could be heard complaining, "You're seriously gonna make me sleep in a crib?"
The twisting came back, and you looked at Fury, ignoring the snickers and banter from the raccoon's friends as they both teased him for his misfortune and told him to get over it.
"We might have taken advantage of some furniture in the attic." Fury said, shrugging.
"It was locked." you say, your eyes narrowed. How would he even know to look up there? Did they literally go through your entire house when they 'scouted' it?
"So was the front door."
You sigh bitterly, only eyeing him in response.
"Is there a problem?" Fury asked, not altogether sincerely.
You shake your head and break his gaze. "It's fine."
Directly across from the previous room, Maria informed the ones you now knew as Gamora and Peter that that's where their belongings had been placed, Maria stating that they hoped they weren't being forward in assuming the pair were a couple. Gamora only nodded and said it was fine, while Peter gave her a cheeky grin that made her roll her eyes. Them being in that particular room meant you'd be sharing a wall with them, and with the knowledge that they were a couple you hopped it wouldn't mean you'd wind hearing any... 'special' noises at night while you were trying to sleep.
Once everyone knew where they'd be sleeping and seemed happy enough with the pre-arranged sleeping arrangements courtesy of who you were now mentally dubbing Intruder Fury, neck tattoo man-Kraglin- looked at Maria and asked where the restroom happened to be.
You lowered a hand from where it had previously been crossed over your chest and rapped twice on the wall, getting his attention, and pointed to the only still closed door to your left, centered in the wall across from the opening to the stairs.
He nodded in thanks, seeming slightly embarrassed that he had forgotten that this was, in fact, your house and not Intruder Fury's or Co-Intruder Hill's.
Fury gave you an unimpressed look that you read as, "Use your words." and you spoke up saying there was another bathroom downstairs if anyone else needed it. Peter spoke up saying that he could use it, and so you nodded your head towards the stairs in a "come on then" gesture and lead him as well a couple others downstairs to point where it was, down the hall towards the back of the house, past the kitchen. It was the only door at the end the hall that could be seen from where you stood, so he couldn't miss it.
Maria and Fury met you at the bottom of the stairs behind the rest of the Guardians, sans Kraglin of course.
"We trust everyone will settle in nicely," Fury said, turning a pointed look at the Guardians as he said "and will be on their best behavior." This earned a few nods from the group and he then turned to you, adding almost jokingly, "Would you like to finish the tour?"
You pointed towards the kitchen and spoke flatly, "Food's in there, so is laundry," you pointed towards the bathroom Peter had disappeared into, "Shower and toilet's in there," you pointed upstairs, "Sleep's up there," you opened the door to your left, the only room not yet explored that you were willing to open, and pointed inside, "Sitting room is in there. Watch TV, read, knock yourselves out."
Fury spoke first. "I get the way we went about this situation may seem less than ideal to you, but I assure you there's no need to be testy."
"I have every right to be 'testy.' You couldn't have just asked? If you really somehow already knew I'd say yes than why go through all-" you waved your hands around, trying to find the words, "You had to go and be all... you?!" There was an edge to your voice that drove the message. He had manipulated you, if that were even the right word for it. He had this all planned out in advance, made you a puzzle piece, you fell right where he said he knew you would, and you were meant to what? Smile about it?
"I could have," he conceded, looking thoughtful, "But that's not how I do things."
"You shook your head. You're a real piece of work, you know that?"
Fury only nodded once in response before asking, "Do you have any further questions?"
You look out the door window briefly to see the clouds had gotten much darker. "Looks like rain, director. Better hurry, wouldn't want you to get wet." The edge to your voice got sharper. Fury simply nodded with a half smile. Message received. Get out.
The Guardians, who hadn't gotten your hint to go shoo off someplace, remain stood in the hall, glancing at each other awkwardly. It surprised them that a man like Fury, and the way he seemed to be, would be seemingly so cool with the way you were speaking to him.
You spoke again as he reached for the door. "See you tomorrow. Ottawa case, right?"
Fury stopped. "Actually no. You won't be coming in tomorrow."
You blinked. "Excuse me?"
"You've been moved off that case to this one, we won't be shipping you off to Canada. In fact, you're off all further cases for the foreseeable future."
"Am I being punished for something, sir?" you ask, the edge still not having left your voice, but it was now softened by confusion.
"No." Fury replied, "If anything, consider it a vacation."
"I did not ask for a vacation, sir." you say, trying to bite back the irritation in your voice. "I have no desire to just stay home."
Maria looked at Fury with a 'told-you-so' expression, stating to him that she had known you wouldn't have taken this well.
Fury looked at you firmly. "You're due for one, and we need someone to stay and guard them. You already live here, they're staying here- Two birds, one stone."
Your face hardened in indignation. "So I'm a babysitter now? Look, if you're retiring me just say so."
The Guardians still stood there awkwardly, Kraglin finally coming down the stairs to quietly join them, eyes wide and wondering where all the tension had come from. Maria tilted her head toward the sitting room, hoping they might get the hint. They did, awkwardly backing into the room, not wishing to interrupt your argument with Fury.
"You're not being retired-"
"Good. Then I can keep working. There's literally no reason why I need to stay home."
"You haven't taken a vacation in five years." Fury said, the authoritative tone in his voice rising, "This isn't a request. It's an order."
Peter then exists the bathroom, saying "What did I miss-" and almost shrinking back inside when he notices his friends are gone and the tense looks between you and Fury. Mercifully, Agent Hill gestures him to the sitting room and he sidesteps his way past while you ignore him, too focused on trying to burn Fury with your eyes.
Knowing you had no options and could make no further arguments, you angrily yielded. "Yes, sir." you say bitterly.
"That's better. If you need anything you know how to contact me or Agent Hill." With that he bid you goodbye and opened the door.
It was now beginning to rain outside.
"Warned you about that rain." you snarked as he made his way out the door.
***
Agent Hill looked at Fury as they entered his vehicle, the rain coming down harder now.
"Stubborn as hell, that one." Fury remarked, turning his key in the ignition.
Maria agreed, but also stated she thought this might be good for you as they drove away.
***
You stood there in the hall for a good moment before Gamora asked if everything was ok from the doorway of the sitting room. You looked at her, and she went on to apologize for their intrusion in your home but also said they were grateful you allowed them to stay.
She started to say something else, probably was going to be more apologies border-lining on 'please don't change your mind,' but you raised your hand and cut her off, "Don't worry about it. It's not you guy's fault he's an asshole," you say. You look at her and you can see she is tired, probably both from lack of sleep and worry. You try to be more gentle. "Look, it's fine. Just... settle in. I know it's late, but there's food in the kitchen if you guys are hungry, I'm- I'm gonna go clean something." You break eye contact and head into the kitchen, sure there was at least a plate or glass in the sink you could tend to.
Sure, enough, once you got to the sink you noticed a few dishes from the morning, and so you turned on the tap. You decided cold water was good enough, not feeling like waiting for the immersion to heat up, but you turned the knob for the hot water anyway out of habit. Realizing you had thrown the old dish rag in the laundry without replacing it, you allowed the water to run while you searched the drawer for another.
You heard footsteps entering the kitchen as you returned to the sink, and assume someone must have finally decided they were hungry. Not turning to greet whoever it was, you absently run the cloth under the tap to get it wet- only to immediately rip it back with a, "g-OW! Damn! Fuck!"
You doubled over, holding your burning hand.
"You ok? What happened?"
You look up, squinting through pain, to see Drax had asked the question, standing in the doorway with Mantis and Gamora, the little tree child sitting on her shoulder.
You breathed. "Yeah. One of those fuckers must have turned the immersion on and left it." You straighten yourself, your hand still smarted but you knew it'd be alright, and turned off the tap with the dishrag. "I'll check it out."
You exit the kitchen through the other door at the far end of the room to check the hot press to the right of the cellar door behind the stairs, intent to turn the immersion off, and bitterly wondering just how long it had been left on for. However, once you opened the door your immersion was nowhere to be seen. You stared in confusion at the new pipes that now ran straight through the floor into the cellar before noticing a note taped to the back wall that only said "Upgraded to boiler. Check basement. ♡ Maria."
You narrowed your eyes and opened the cellar door, already pulling out your phone as you descended the stairs. You quickly located this new boiler fairly quickly. It was cylindrical in shape and black in color, and much larger than your previous heating unit, probably why it was now in the cellar. You dialed the phone, the first word out of your mouth when you got an answer was simply, "Why?"
***
The other guardians in the sitting room had also heard your swearing and peeked out of the room just in time to see you walking very cranky-like across the hall. They looked at the three standing in the kitchen doorway and they only shrugged in response to their quizzical glances.
Curious, and hearing you walk down the stairs, Peter and Kraglin tiptoed over to the Cellar door to see what was going on, standing just off from the door. They caught bits of your end of the conversation.
"Why?" ...
"Well, yes I can understand that, but-" ...
"Well you could have warned me! I just about burned my hand off!" ...
"Fine. How does it work?" ...
"No, I'm not going to-" ...
"Yes, I know they-" ...
"You know what, I'll figure it out. Bye."
They hear you start to climb the steps and scurry back to the sitting room, not wishing to make it apparent they were eavesdropping on their new host.
You re-enter the kitchen and grab a glass of milk to soothe your nerves, seeing as it was now raining buckets and you couldn't be bothered for a walk as you would have preferred.
You sit at the table and look to see the three still standing in the doorway. You raise an eyebrow. "You alright there?" Thinking bizarrely that they must be shy you gesture towards the pantry. "Food's over there if you're hungry."
Drax merely shrugged and took up the offer, guiding Mantis over with him, but not before accepting Groot from Gamora.
Gamora stepped towards the table and took a seat across from you. "I couldn't help but notice you seem less than happy about this arrangement, I'm sorry-"
You cut her off once again. "Don't be sorry. I already told you it's not your fault Fury can be a dick. It's just a lot of new all at once and I wasn't expecting it. You're fine." You take another sip of milk, finally realizing what it was that she was actually afraid of. "You don't need to be scared that I'll send you back or anything."
She actually seemed to relax a bit. "Thank you. If there's anything-"
You set your glass on the table and fold your hands. Sentiment made you uncomfortable. "Look, as long as you guys clean up after yourselves and don't destroy my home, we're fine." Looking for a change of subject you said, "Why don't you introduce the rest of your friends. It couldn't hurt to get to know you a little."
Gamora smiled slightly. "Well, that's Drax and Mantis." she said, pointing to the two who were now coming back to sit down with their snacks. "And this is Groot," she added once Mantis sat the child on the table.
You smiled. "Cute little bugger, isn't he?"
"I am Groot!" he said excitedly, taking a bite of a food you didn't recognize. Must have been one of those outer-space types.
"Hello, Groot. How are you?"
"I am Groot."
You raised an eyebrow. "Um.." Maybe he misunderstood you?
Before you could ask again, Drax speaks up. "That's all he can say. He means he's ok."
"Oh." You nod slightly and take a sip of your milk, bemused. "I see."
The four of you conversed for a little bit. You learned that Drax liked knives, and he seemingly took everything very literally. Mantis was sweet, and she was convinced you two would be friends. She also said she was excited to share a room with you, because it would be like a sleepover. Gamora gave you a smile that seemed to say "forgive her," but you honestly weren't too bothered. It was almost sweet. Before you could ask about Gamora though, she stood up and asked if you'd like to meet the others.
You shrugged and nodded, placing your now empty glass in the sink before following her out to the sitting room where the other men were.
You walked in and saw Peter sitting in an armchair listening to a music player, seemingly ignoring the other two men as they stood looking weirdly at the TV. The blue man tilted his head at it, a hand to his chin in thought, while the other waved his arms slowly in front of it saying, "I dunno. Maybe it's broken?" He looked ridiculous.
You stifle a laugh and asked, "What are you doing?"
They turn to you, the blue man speaks. "Tryin' to figure out how to turn on this Terran TV of yers. Rat says they're motion activated, but nothin' we do is workin.'"
You give him a strange look. "Motion-? No- You just use the remote."
Then you hear a snickering and find it's coming from the raccoon, perched on the back of the couch. "Rocket." Gamora says in a mix of scolding and accusation, and he starts laughing harder, jumping down on the cushions to retrieve the controller from between them. "You guys looked so stupid! Ahaha!"
Yondu glares and Kraglin snatches the remote, flipping the television on and raising his hands in an annoyed "There we go!" gesture, sharing an annoyed look with Yondu at Rocket.
You motion to one of the game controllers on the coffee table, stating they'd want to use one of those if they wanted to actually watch something, as the first controller only turned the TV on.
Before you could offer to show them how to use Netflix, Gamora started introducing the remaining guardians.
Peter removed his earbuds and greeted you, standing to shake your hand, only to be shot down by you saying there was no need to be so formal, keeping to yourself the fact that despite working for Fury, you hated formal with a passion. He held up his hands and sat back down. "No problem there. We're probably the least formal people you can get." he said with a smile. You didn't see, but Gamora gave him a warning look that kept him from putting his feet up on the table.
The other two men and the raccoon seemed to agree with Peter, and nodded their greetings to you instead when introduced.
"Say, just curious, but how come it's just you living in this big ol' house by yerself?" came a question from Yondu.
You probably should have expected that question, but you didn't like it all the same. You were trying to decided if 'Don't worry about it' would be too rude of an answer when Peter notices the change in your expression and adds his own question out of fear that Yondu had offended you in some way. "How long have you been here? Fury said this place was old."
You chose to answer Peter's question instead. "Grew up here. House has been in the family since it was built."
"Oh. Cool." said Peter.
Not looking forward to any more possible questions about yourself you looked up to the clock and found your way out.
"Well, it's nearly ten, I think I'll turn in early." you say, excusing yourself.
Just then a loud thunderclap sounded and you heard a squeal from the kitchen.
"Kid scared of storms?" you ask, looking to Gamora.
The lights go out. You hear a scream.
"Nah, but apparently Bug is." says Yondu.
Realizing he likely meant Mantis, and that Mantis was your new roommate, you sigh. "I'll get a flashlight."
The lights flickered back on.
"Nevermind."
Everyone pretty much decided to go to bed after that, Mantis shyly shuffling into the bedroom a few minutes after you to retrieve some items from her bag and coming back dressed for bed as you scrolled through Tumblr, having already washed up and dressed for bed.
She crawled into her bed, pulling the covers up to her chin.
Thunder cracked again and she whimpered. You honestly felt a little bad for her.
"Do... does this happen often?" she asked.
"The storm? No." you answered honestly. "It'll be over soon. Just try to sleep." You stand up to turn the light off but pause, turning back to the curled up form on the bed opposite of your own, your face softening. "Would you like me to leave a lamp on?"
Mantis nodded.
You click on your desk lamp before turning off the overhead light and crawling into your own bed. You heard her say goodnight to you from across the room.
"Night," you return, turning toward the wall.
They were an odd lot, a bit dysfunctional, but you decided they were ultimately harmless. 'This whole ordeal will be over before I know it,' you thought as you closed your eyes.
You'd find out soon enough that you thought wrong.

Summary: Henry meets your parents for the first time, and custody issues arise.
Warnings: fluff, angst, slight family drama, slight daddy issues, Lav being cute as always
A/N: Just me channeling my own problems into my writing as an emotional outlet lmao. Hope you enjoy!
Chapter 7
You heard the alarm go off, but groaned and rolled over, attempting to smother the sounds with your pillow. You heard Henry chuckle, and roll out of bed, before walking out of the room.
He poked his head into Lavender’s room, where she was safe and asleep, so he continued his journey down the stairs. He turned the coffee machine on, and grabbed two travel mugs.
Today, you and him would be heading to your home town, and he’d be meeting your family. To say he was nervous would be an understatement. He was absolutely terrified. He was terrified that they wouldn’t like him, or that they would think he’s not a good father to Lavender.
He also nervous because he knew Lavender’s birth father lived in the same town, and he honestly didn’t know what he would do if he came face to face with that asshole.
He had just finished making both your coffee’s, when he hears Lavender wake up over the baby monitor. He headed to her room, peaking his inside his to check on you, who was still sleeping.
Lavender stopped crying when Henry came in to her line of sight, and watched him intently as he picked her up and cradled her against his chest. He changed her diaper quickly, and got her dressed, before taking her down stairs. He placed her into the high chair, and tilted it back gently so it supported her back and head. She had gotten better at holding up her own head, but Henry didn’t want to take any chances. She cooed and watched as he moved around the kitchen, getting everything ready for the road trip.
She blew a raspberry, and Henry turned around. “What are you doing, boo boo?” He asked her, walking over to press a kiss to her forehead. She let out a giggle, and then began moving her arms around wildly, and squealing. Henry smiled and unbuckled her, picking her up. “Mama is still sleeping, and Dada doesn’t want to wake her up yet. We have to be quiet.” He whispered, and he got a huge smiled in return, before Lavender laid her head on his shoulder.
Henry continued what he was doing, until Lavender let out a cry, signalling that she was hungry. Henry smushed her, but began prepping a bottle for her before walking into the living room with her, and sitting down to feed her. He gazed down at her as she happily ate her breakfast. “You are so beautiful, you know that?” He said. She gazed up at him in a way that almost made him believe that she understood what he was saying. “i’m gonna take care of you the way a father should. I don’t care that you’re biologically not mine, you’re my baby girl, and that’s all that matters,” He whispered, before pressing a kiss to her forehead. He watched as her eyes drifted shut.
You came down the stairs a few minutes later with all the pre-packed bags, and smiled at Henry who was holding Lavender.
“I didn’t hear her wake up,” You said, and Henry chuckled as he stood up.
“She woke up about an hour ago, but you were still sleeping so I got her. She’s eaten, and everything is ready to go,” He said. You nodded as you took a sip of your coffee. “Okay, thank you.” You said, and Henry walked over to you to give you a kiss.
“I’ll load the car up, if you get her in her car seat,” Henry suggested, passing Lavender to you. You took your daughter, and cradled her against your chest. She opened her eyes, and looked up at you. “We’re you being good for Dada?” You asked her, and she cooed in response.
A few minutes later, Lavender was secure in her car seat, and the car was packed. Henry carried the car seat to the car, and you climbed into the passengers seat, Kal following to lay on your feet. Henry got in the drivers seat, and the four of you were off. The drive went fairly well, with Lavender sleeping the majority of the time, in between feedings, where you would have to get in the back to help feed her.
You arrived at your parents house just before midnight, and both were relieved when you could see lights on, signifying that your family was still awake. Sneaking into your childhood home with a baby and dog didn’t seem like the most enjoyable thing.
You took Lavender and Kal, while Henry took the bags out.
“Y/N!” Your mom said, opening the door for you. “Hey, mom,” You said as you gave her a hug. Your dad came up and gave you one as well, before taking the car seat from you. Kal looked up at you for permission to follow Lavender, and you nodded, before he scurried off to protect his sister. You stepped away from the door to allow Henry through with the bags, which you took from him while he met your mom.
“You must be Henry!” Your mom said, pulling him into her arms for a hug. You giggled as Henry returned her hug.
“It’s nice to meet you, Mrs. Y/L/N.” He said, and your mom instantly corrected him.
“Please, call me Y/M/N.”
They continued to talk, and you decided to get Lavender out of her seat, as she was looking quite done with being strapped in. You freed her, and she immediately cooed in happiness before snuggling into your chest. You glanced over at Henry, who was talking to your dad about football, and took a seat on the couch. Your mom came over, and took her from you so she could have some cuddles, and you took that opportunity to take the bags to your old bedroom. When you walked in, you smiled as you saw your parents had set up your crib that you had used for Lavender to sleep in.
Henry came in a while later, and helped you unpack the bags, and get everything ready for Lavender to go to sleep. You heard her crying from the living room, and Henry immediately went to her aid. He re-entered the bedroom with her in his arms moments later, and she was handed to you. “She’s hungry, I think. She wasn’t wet or anything.”
“Okay,” You said, and freed your breast to feed her. She latched on, and you sat down against the headboard. Henry watched you out of the corner of his eye as he moved about the room, getting ready for bed. He joined you moments later, and a kiss was pressed to your cheek before he did the same to Lavenders.
“Are you nervous to meet the rest of my family tomorrow?” You questioned Henry, and he gave you a small smile.
“No. I am nervous that I’m going to run into her birth father though. I don’t know how I would be able to stop myself from hurting him.” He admitted, and you grabbed his hand with your free one.
“Don’t worry about him. He won’t hurt us, okay?” You promised, and Henry smiled before laying his head on your shoulder and drifting off to sleep with his eyes locked on his little girl. She was safe.
But, he should have known that wasn’t true. The next morning, your parents had asked you to go on a grocery store run, and the three of you decided to go. Henry was pushing the cart, Lavender was enjoying her new surroundings in her car seat, while you were consulting the list, and putting things in the cart. Henry gazed around at the people also shopping, almost searching for your ex. He realized he shouldn’t be so suspicious, and focused on Lavender again, who was looking at the different coloured fruits and vegetables, her fingers being sucked on in her mouth.
The three of you made your way to the snack aisle, and that’s when it happened. Henry heard what sounded like a curse word come out your mouth just as a man, no older than 25 entered the same aisle as you. He locked eyes with you, and Henry watched as he approached you. Henry looked at you, and he instantly knew who it was.
Lavenders father.
Henry immediately moved the cart so Lavender couldn’t be seen, and stood in between the cart and you, so you were within reaching distance.
“Hey, Y/N.” He said. You rolled your eyes, but turned to face your ex.
“What do you want, Y/E/N?” You said in an exasperated voice.
“Where’s my daughter?” He asked, and Henry moved the cart behind his back a little more. This made your ex look at him, and notice the back of the car seat peaking out from behind Henry. “Who the hell are you?” He asked in a demanding tone.
“I’m Henry.” He stated plainly. He reached out and pulled you closer to him. You turned your head, and buried your face into his chest. You knew he’d protect you and Lavender; he was Superman after all.
“Why are you near my daughter?” Your ex asked in the same demanding tone. Henry felt the anger bubbling up, and did nothing to stop it.
“She’s not your daughter. She’s mine,” Henry said, in the same villainous tone that he had to use for Walker.
Y/E/N scoffed. “Like hell she is. Unless she was cheating on me with you, and I highly doubt that, there is no way in hell that she is your daughter.”
Henry narrowed his eyes before continuing. “You’re right. Biologically, she is not mine, but that doesn’t matter to me. She is my daughter in every other way. You left Y/N the second she told you she was pregnant. She had to be pregnant alone for 9 months, and then parent completely alone for another 2 because you decided you didn’t want the responsibility. She is my daughter. I stepped up when I didn’t have to, simply because I love her mother, and I love her. You don’t.”
“Well I’m here now. Shouldn’t that count for something?”
Henry laughed. “You have no rights to her. I’m the one waking up at night to take care of her so Y/N can sleep. I’m the one that bathes her, changes her, plays with her, and gives her love and protection. The night I met her, I made a promise to myself that I would protect her and her mother for the rest of my life and that is exactly what I am going to do. She is my daughter in every way that matters.”
Y/E/N narrowed his eyes and took a step towards Henry. Henry immediately moved you behind him, as he was anticipating this getting physical. You moved to your daughter, and pushed the cart to the end of the aisle. “I’ll take you to court.”
Henry felt himself slip into his ‘Walker headspace’ as he called it, before he retaliated. “Good luck with that. See, unlike you, I am an actor. Not just any actor too. I’ve played Superman, Geralt of Rivia, Napoleon Solo, and I am now playing August Walker in Mission Impossible for the second time. And, Y/N told me that you’ve seen Fallout, so you know what Walker can do. I make a hell of a lot more money than you do, and I have a much better legal team than you. Not to mention, these muscles,” He motioned to his upper body. “aren’t just for my looks. They’re useful too.” he got right in your ex’s face, to intimidate him before continuing. “I can beat the shit out of little pussy men who think they can come here and threaten my girlfriend and my daughter. Now get the fuck out of here before I recreate the bathroom scene, right here in the aisle.” Henry finished, and turned to face you but not before your ex opened up his mouth again.
“This isn’t over, Y/N. she’s my daughter, and I WILL take her from you.” Henry’s eyes darkened, and turned around. He raised his fist and punched your ex square in the nose so hard that went flying back down the aisle. He walked and stood over him.
“So help me God, you contact me, Y/N or my daughter in ANY way, I will go all August Walker on your ass. I’m sure Tom Cruise would love to help as well.” He spat in your ex’s face. He turned and saw that you were in tears. He ran up to you and enveloped you in a hug.
“It’s okay. He can’t hurt us.” Henry whispered in your ear, as Henry pushed the cart out of the aisle and towards the checkout. “Here,” he said, handing you his card. “Checkout. I’m going to go let the manager know what happened. I’ll see you in the car.” You nodded, and watched as he approached an employee.
You checked out silently, and headed to the car. Lavender had taken notice of how upset you were, and began bowing raspberries in the hopes of cheering you up, which worked. You loaded her, and then the groceries, into the car, before climbing in and fully breaking down. Henry joined you moments later and you were pulled back into his arms.
“You’re okay. I’m sorry I let my anger get the best of me.” he whispered into your hair. You shook your head.
“That’s not why I’m crying. I-I’m scared he’s going to take her away.” Henry hugged to tighter when he heard your broken voice.
“Not gonna happen. I won’t let anything happen to her.” He promised. You nodded, and pulled away so Henry could drive.
You were still shaken up over what happened when you arrived home, immediately disappearing to your bedroom with Lavender. Henry carried the groceries in the house, and helped your mom put them away.
“Did something happen at the store? Y/N seems upset.” She asked.
“Y/E/N was there and he threatened her with taking Lavender from us. I couldnt let that happen, so I threatened him a little, and ended up punching him in the face.” he winced as he finished talking, unsure of what your moms reaction was going to be.
She turned to him, and gave him a high five. “Thank you. I never liked him.” Henry busted out laughing seconds later.
Henry went out for a run with Kal a few hours later, and your mom came upstairs with some lunch for you. You were laying on the bed, watching a movie on on the TV while Lavender napped in the crib.
“Hey, Henry told me what happened. Are you okay?” She asked, offering you the plate with an egg salad sandwich on it. You took it and nodded.
“Yeah, I am. Just a little shaken up is all.” You said, and she took a seat on the bed.
“Okay. You know, your birth father threatened the same thing many times.” She admitted. Your head shot up to look at your mom.
“Really?”
Your mom nodded, and continued. “Yep. But, your dad never let that happen, and I know Henry won’t. I absolutely hate that you are going through what I did with your father, but we both know Henry is going to protect you and her the same way your dad protected you and I. If he becomes an issue, you can always get a restraining order.” You nodded, and watched as your mom pressed a kiss to your temple before walking out.
“Everything’s going to be fine,” You said, as you ate and watched your daughters chest move up and down rhythmically. She was safe.
A/N Pt 2: I just thought i’d clarify that when i say ‘father’ and ‘dad’ i mean two completely different things. To me, a ‘father’ is the one who is biologically related to the child, and a ‘dad’ is the one who raises the child. Anyone can be a father, but it takes a real man to be a dad.

Your alarm blared loudly, echoing in the quiet bedroom. Startling awake, you fell out of bed and landed on the floor with a ‘THUD’ in a heap of blankets. Frustration filled you immediately, but it changed into excitement very quickly as you started to wake up. Despite the fact that it was a Saturday and you’d rather be sleeping in, you were thrilled about your book signing.
Even though it was your second cookbook, you were excited just the same. Your first cookbook did really well and garnered you an appearance on GMA, which in turn sky-rocketed your fame. You had a passion for food and
You heaved yourself off the floor and went to go get ready for the day. On your way to the bathroom, you set your coffee to brew. You hopped into the hot shower and let it wake you up. After a bit, you climbed out and brushed your teeth before grabbing the coffee from your room. You mulled over the clothes in your closet a while before deciding on an outfit, keeping in mind there were going to be a lot of eyes on you. Finishing your coffee, you walked to the garage and drove to your cover house, the place the press actually thought you lived.
Driving up the alley, you pulled onto the car pad and met your publicist inside. He briefed you on the itinerary for the day while you got your hair and makeup done. As the stylists finished up, your publicist sprung the idea of a surprise cooking demonstration at the signing. The look on his face, though, sent all the protests you were going to utter out the window. You both made your way out to the town car parked in front of the house and climbed in. Flashes from the cameras blinded you even with sunglasses on and keeping your head down.
The drive to the bookstore was long and slow. Once the car turned onto the block, you could hear the cheers from the crowd. You climbed out, raised your sunglasses to the top of your head and then turned to address the crowd.
“Hi guys,” you said and waited a moment before speaking again. “I appreciate all your support on this crazy journey. Thank you for coming, I look forward to answering all your questions. The store will be opening in about fifteen minutes. Thank you all so much.”
After addressing the crowd, you and your team went inside to see the setup of the area. There was a table at the front of the room for you and chairs aligned in front for the crowd. A hot plate was at the end of the table for the cooking demonstration. Your publicist, last-minute, re-arranged some things before he nodded and opened the door. The crowd flooded in, and you waited until they were settled before heading to the front for your cooking demonstration. It was one of the most basic staple recipes in your book. It was also one of your favourites.
As you cooked the risotto alla Milanese, you made sure to explain each step in detail and go over any techniques you used. Once it finished cooking, your team helped out by handing out the samples while you cleaned up the front area. You settled into your seat at the table, and your publicist announced it was now time for the question and answer part of the book signing. Hands raised immediately, and you took a sip of water before pointing to the first person.
“Did you get any formal culinary training? Or is this just all from learned skills from life?”
“Thank you for that question,” you smiled before answering. “I studied at the Apicius International School of Hospitality in Italy right after high school. And then I went on to study at the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts, I studied at the Boulder campus.”
You picked on the next person.
“What inspired this book?”
“That’s a good question,” you paused for a breath. “It was actually my last trip to Italy that inspired this book. The culture, the scenery, the people, the food; I loved all of it. This book has a lot of my favourite recipes but, unfortunately there wasn’t enough room for all of them.”
One person called out, “I have a follow up question on that….”
You nodded for them to go ahead.
“So, can we expect another book solely focused on Italian recipes?”
Laughing a little, you answered. “Yes actually, it comes out next year.”
You were met with a bit of applause, and then you moved onto the next question.
“Hi there, I was wondering if there are any other books in the works?”
Smiling, you snuck a glance at your publicist, who motioned to say no.
“Umm…at the moment, I don’t have anything in the works but I’m always looking for inspiration.”
“How long does it usually take you to write one of your books?”
“Well…” you chuckled lightly. “Usually it takes me almost a year to write one but, my most recent took only three months to actually write and perfect the recipes. Photographing and all that other stuff stretched out the process but this book was actually finished quite quickly.”
“What was the most surprising thing you found while writing this book?”
“Um…the most surprising thing I found was how much I had to edit the recipe notes and forewords. I just had so much to say that I had to watch carefully how much I wrote.”
Just as you were about to pick another question, your manager motioned to the clock. And then he stepped out in front of the crowd.
“Thank you all so much for coming. If you’ll please line up, Y/N will start signing books in a few minutes.”
You settled into your seat at the front table, uncapped the sharpie and took a breath, preparing yourself to sign the books. One by one, fans came up to the table congratulating you on your second book as well as your book deal for the next book. Before they each walked off, they gave a polite thank you for signing their books and complimented you on the risotto. Some people even had a small conversation with you while you signed their books. This was your favourite part of this career path, getting to know the people.
Sighing, out of exhaustion, you watched as the line dwindled down until the last person came up to the table. You shook out your wrist, sore from all the signing, and then you grabbed the book they were holding without even looking up.
“Who should I make it out to?” You asked; the exhaustion you had been staving off all afternoon seeped into your tone.
“David Rossi please,” the fan answered.
You looked up, slightly unsure and wanted to make sure you had heard correctly. Sure enough, you were met with the kind face of David Rossi, who just so happened to be your favourite author and a bit of a personal hero. You got a stupid look on your face before you started to ramble.
“Oh my God! You’re David Rossi! Like the real one! And you’re here at my signing!” You exclaimed excitedly. And you kept rambling on about how it’s such an honour to have him there and how he’s your hero. He just chuckled furiously scribbled a message into his book.
“I left my number in case you ever want to connect.” You said with a smile while you handed him his book back. And then you just sat there and watched him walk out of the store in awe. The same stupid look back on your face.

Doh Kyungsoo had dragged his feet up the endless flight of stairs seeking solitude...not drama.
A stranger, just one misstep away from a fatal fall, was the last thing he’d expected to find on the rooftop of Seoul’s Park Hyatt at three in the morning. He slipped the rooftop access key card (that he’d borrowed from the security guard in exchange for a 50,000 won bill) in the back pocket of his trousers while simultaneously dwelling on the depths of the rot of corruption. He had half a mind to turn away and forget that he’d just seen someone contemplating their existence on the ledge of a highrise but there was something about you that rooted him to the spot. Dressed in fine evening wear, you’d stretched your arms out like wings as you looked up at the vast expanse of midnight blue, the wind kissing your wild, waist length hair. From his standpoint, you looked oddly at peace.
Kyungsoo had never been an idealist or a victim of the white knight syndrome. He wasn’t one to delve into the ethical and philosophical conundrums for most things in life because to him it was all just a waste of time. Seeing you on the parapet filled him with neither sympathy nor worry. It was your life after all and with it you could do whatever you deemed fit as long as you weren’t inconveniencing others. Scratch that.
As long as you weren’t inconveniencing him.
But right now, unbeknownst to you, you were inconveniencing Seoul’s hottest financial broker, Doh Kyungsoo.
He wasn’t invisible to the hotel’s security cameras and being labelled suspect in an abetment to suicide investigation wasn't exactly what he was looking for after the day he’d had. Albeit inebriated and heavy-eyed, he could effectively calculate the logistics involved in pulling you off the ledge with the cacophony of the omnipresent Seoul traffic drowning out the sound of his footsteps.
Bracing himself for superficial bruises from the impact of falling to the right side of the precipice with the weight of an adult human pressing down on his 173 cm high frame, he took off his custom tailored blazer (that had been flown in from Vietnam especially for that evening) and folded it in half, making sure that the lapels touched. Some habits are hard to shake. He put the blazer on the ground as a makeshift floorcloth for the rest of his belongings. With his back facing you, he allowed himself a moment's peace as he loosened his tie, languidly rolled the sleeves of his pristine white dress shirt up to his elbows, freed himself off the Rolex Cellini on his left wrist, his Bottega Veneta fine leather wallet, and the cursed Tiffany Blue Box that he simply couldn’t bear to look at anymore and neatly placed them all on the blazer.
Letting out a deep exhale, he muttered curses under his breath before turning to your silhouette only to find it...gone.
Kyungsoo’s eyes narrowed and then immediately grew into large circles as he grappled with the shocking turn of events. An inexplicable heaviness bloomed in his chest and he felt sick to the stomach which, in a state of denial, he chalked up to the dubious mixture of spirits he’d downed not too long ago.
Before he could find his bearings and figure out what to do next, a light tap on his shoulder made him jump. His jaw went slack and his heart threatened to leap out of his chest to find you casually smiling at him. In that moment, he wanted nothing more than to climb onto the very same ledge and scream into the void but he simply stood there, mouth agape, wanting to say a million things but he could hardly muster a peep.
Reading the confusion painted across his sharp, well defined features, you uttered an unsure, “Hi?”
“I thought you’d jumped,” he whispered, head tilted to the side, his compelling, bloodshot eyes locked with yours.
“Says someone who’s unusually jumpy,” you jested, but your expression immediately turned solemn when you caught the tremble in his right hand. “Are you on something?”
There came about a sudden shift in his aura. Hands on hips, he deadpanned, “Why? Are you with the cops?”
“No, don’t worry,” you let out a soft chuckle and he started scrambling for his things, “How long have you been standing here?”
Hastily stuffing everything into the pocket of his well fitted trousers, he muttered something along the lines of ‘Chaos. Just chaos everywhere!’
Leaning into his frame, you quipped, “What’s that?”
Alarmed and goggle-eyed, he snapped, “Nevermind,” and turned towards the exit.
“Hey! You seem to have forgotten something!” You called out after him upon finding his blazer on the ground, the silken sheen of it reflecting a myriad of citylights.
No answer.
“I wasn’t going to jump!” You yodelled childishly but the man was long gone.

Seven Hours Earlier
“Natasha -” Kyungsoo huffed.
The feather light Tiffany 1873 Blue Box in his left hand had suddenly started to feel like a giant boulder weighing down on his entire being. The sparkle of the uncut diamond reflected in his misty eyes as her uncharacteristically stoic silence left him struggling for words. He searched Natasha’s face for a hint of mischief...he so desperately wished for her to crack a sly smile and pull him in for a kiss and whisper ‘Yes! Yes! A thousand times yes!’ against his lips like they do in the movies, that he’d almost started to imagine it. It had to have been some sort of an ugly prank.
What reason does she have to turn me down? he wondered.
Kyungsoo breached the uncomfortable spell of silence with a desperate plea, “Say something!” the throbbing in his head intensifying by the second.
Did these three years mean nothing to you? What did I do wrong? Do you hate the ring? Is this not the kind of proposal you wished for? Is it because I left the bathroom lights on all night? Or is it because I forgot to wish your mother on her birthday? A flurry of questions spawned in Kyungsoo’s mind only to die at the tip of his tongue.
“I’m sorry, Kyungsoo, but I can’t do this. I just -” Natasha spoke finally. Gingerly shifting the weight of the box onto the ebony restaurant table, she slammed it shut as if the ring had been eyeing her lecherously.
Meeting Kyungsoo’s gaze almost defiantly, she declared, “Kyungsoo, I don’t think that I could be the kind of wife that would make you happy and I don’t think you could make me happy either.”

Two Weeks Later
Setting your eyes on that distinct pair of Dumbo ears, you excitedly weaved through the peak hour coffee shop crowd with an Iced Americano held firmly in one hand. Slamming the beverage down on the table, you engulfed his giant frame in a back hug and squealed, “Park Chanyeol!”
His wide eyes turned into even bigger brown circles and his mouth rounded into an ‘o’ in surprise. Grinning, he got off the uncomfortably tiny coffee shop chair and wordlessly pulled you in for what was famously known in Uni as a ‘Classic Chanyeol Hug’. You didn’t know how much you missed it until you felt your worries immediately dissipate into nothingness.
He hugged you a little tighter the moment you started to pull away before taking your hands in his and stooping down to your eye level. “Shifu, my love! You’re back in Seoul?!” Chanyeol exclaimed with all the love in the world sparking in the depths of his dark eyes.
Even after all this time, it felt as if nothing had changed….you’d suddenly been whizzed into a not-so-distant ‘Gothic architecture and coffee shops’ past in which a cotton candy haired boy, dressed in a pair of freshly ironed beige chinos and a plain white tee, smiles his sweetest smile simply at the sight of you. Chanyeol always felt like home. Funnily enough, even more so at the moment.
Giving him a good natured smile, you nodded in response, albeit cringing a little on the inside. Having been President of the martial arts club back in the days, you got stuck with an ingenious moniker “Shifu” which you clearly couldn’t shake off even after half a decade since graduation. You did a double take when your gaze veered to acknowledge the person seated opposite Chanyeol who, dressed in an ivory business suit, almost blended into the background. Just the way you could spot Chanyeol’s ears from a million miles away, you could recognize those eyes anywhere and right now they were shooting daggers at you.
“OH! Hi!”
His response to your greeting was a curt nod accompanying a vague hand movement, something between a hi and a failed facepalm.
At this Chanyeol guffawed, “You two know each other?”, his keen gaze rapidly flitting between the two of you.
“Yes -”
“No -”
While gesturing you to take a seat at their table, Chanyeol slumped into his chair and pursued the conversation in a voice laced with amusement, “So which is it?”
You gave your head a little shake, signalling Chanyeol to drop the topic since his friend had made his apprehension quite evident with an unambiguous “No” when asked if he knew you. Which...wasn’t entirely untrue. Even though Chanyeol now seemed to be on the same page as you, for good measure, you deflected his question with a polite, “I hope I’m not interrupting anything?”
“Absolutely not!” Chanyeol assured, deftly steering the conversation back to you, “We could actually use your advice on something but first, Shifu, look at you! How long has it been? Five years?”
“Five years!”
“Wahhh! What brings you back to Seoul?”
With a wistful smile, you answered, “Appa passed away in April...”
“Oh, I’m- I’m so sorry -” stuttered Chanyeol, immediately placing his hand on your arm and giving it a light squeeze. From the corner of your eye you noticed Chanyeol’s friend chewing on his bottom lip and listening to this exchange with rapt attention.
“No, no, it’s erm...we’re doing okay now, I guess-”
It had been two and a half months but every time you talked about it, a black hole burgeoned right in the middle of your chest, sucking you within itself and rendering you breathless. You still hadn’t picked up the art of condoling the “condoler”. What were you even supposed to say to the faultless “I’m sorry”? Who came up with condolence jargon, anyway?
“I’m sorry we haven’t been in touch - ”
“Oh, please. You know how it is after Uni, isn’t it,” you turned to Chanyeol’s friend to make him feel a little less left out, “what did you say your name was?”
“I didn’t,” he answered in a clipped tone while mindlessly scrolling through his phone.
“Yah!” Chanyeol chastised him with a deathly glare before continuing with an impish smile, “He’s Doh Kyungsoo.”
“Ah! So he’s Doh Kyungsoo! I’ve heard a great deal about you!” Your enthusiasm invoked a quick cursory smile from him. Doh Kyungsoo had apparently made it his life’s mission to make this unexpected rendezvous as icky as possible, leaving you to wonder if Chanyeol had ever discussed your brief relationship with him. Ex-girlfriend meets best friend? Not an ideal scenario in any part of the world.
Chanyeol and you had gone out for a couple of weeks towards the end of freshman year until you both realized that you were much better off as friends. Despite being joined at the hip in Uni, the two of you had gone your separate ways after post-grad. While he returned to Seoul to join the family business, you’d stayed back in Milan to explore job opportunities. Messages and phone calls became few and far between and it wasn’t long before both of you had completely lost touch with each other.
And it wasn’t until you met him again that you realized how desperately you needed a friend considering everything that had been going on in your life. You selfishly wished for Kyungsoo to leave you two to catch up on all these years spent apart but clearly that was a lot to ask considering how tacitly territorial he seemed to be getting about Chanyeol.
“So what was it that you wanted to talk about?” you asked in another feeble attempt to water down the rancour.
Chanyeol’s features flared into a bashful smile but the moment he opened his mouth to speak, Kyungsoo held a hand up to him and insisted, “Allow me to spare you the blushes,” before starting to explain the situation in an uncharacteristically eager tone, “This idiot is getting married in three months -”
Boisterously thumping Chanyeol’s back, you showered him with congratulations which he accepted with a shy ‘thank you.’
Kyungsoo continued, “- and we have a road trip planned for next month. As per the pact -”
Head tilted to the side, you shot, “What pact?”
“Some stupid pact that I have no memory of - ”
“That you conveniently have no memory of!” interrupted a salty Chanyeol.
Kyungsoo grimaced. Rubbing the corner of his eye, he continued with a heavy sigh, “It was supposed to be the three of us...Chanyeol, me, and our school friend Yixing.”
“Oh, okay?”
“So Yixing fell off a tractor and broke his back -”
“Oh, my gosh!” You exclaimed.
Kyungsoo’s mouth fell open. “I wasn’t there but I’d bet my ass that’s exactly what he said at the time.”
“What do you mean?”
“Nothing.”
“Wait, wait, slow down, why- how- a tractor?”
“He quit his CEO position to become a full time….farmer,” deadpanned Kyungsoo as if it was the stupidest thing Yixing could’ve done which rubbed you up the wrong way and coloured your otherwise neutral expression.
“He basically did what Kyungsoo doesn’t have the balls to do,” quipped Chanyeol, lips stretched into a gremlin-like grin. Kyungsoo returned his jibe with a strike to his arm causing him to let out a dramatic wail thus inviting the attention of everyone around you.
But none of it deterred Kyungsoo. He continued nonchalantly as if presenting a well crafted business proposal, “Since one of us is unavailable it only makes sense to postpone the trip and that’s exactly what I’ve been asking Chanyeol to do but he just won’t listen.”
“You’re getting married in three months and you’re taking this road trip next month. Will you be left with enough time for wedding planning?” you reasoned with Chanyeol, well aware of the kind of family he belonged to and the kind of weddings these families planned.
“Mr. Park here was way too eager,” Kyungsoo butted in.
“Shut up, Kyungsoo!”
“Wahhh you must really love her ~ ,” you sang, moon-eyed.
“Clearly. He couldn’t even wait for the rest of us to finish singing the birthday song for his Eomma.”
“What?”
“Yeah! He popped the question to Aera right in the middle of it.”
“WHAT!”
“That’s a story for another day,” replied Chanyeol in an atypically calm tone, “but you’re right, Shifu, it’s not enough time and that’s why I’ve been asking this idiot to just -”
“All reservations are for three. It logistically makes more sense to reschedule,” declared Kyungsoo with a hint of finality in his tone.
It didn’t. It definitely didn’t make more sense to reschedule but as gullible as Chanyeol was, he said nothing to counter Kyungsoo’s illogical argument.
“Are you sure your friend Yixing would be okay with it, Yeollie? I’m sure you can wait for him to get better and -”
Firmly setting his jaw, Chanyeol looked you square in the eyes and stated, “It's now or never.”
Kyungsoo stole a glance at you and cleared his throat, hesitance betraying his voice when he spoke again, “Chanyeollah, you’re only getting married stop talking like you’re terminally ill.”
Chanyeol's expression softened to convey an implicit plea causing you to tweak your suggestion, “The two of you can still go? I’m sure Yixing won’t mind.”
But Chanyeol hit you with an unexpected proposal. He asked, “Do you want to come?”, in a tone that was way too serious for a road trip.
“What? No!”
“Why not? You’re here and - “
“- and Yixing’s not,” interrupted Kyungsoo.
Ignoring the sarcasm in Kyungsoo’s voice, you turned Chanyeol down gently, “No, Yeol, it’s just- it doesn’t make sense, bub.”
“Why not? We leave in a month and that’s plenty of time to get all your travel docs in order -”
“Travel docs? You mean….insurance?” You asked hesitantly.
“Yeah! Insurance...you won’t need a visa, though.”
“Visa? Yeah, obviously I won’t be needing a visa. Why would I need a visa for a road trip?”
Chanyeol slapped his forehead and wondered aloud, “Oh, shoot! We didn’t tell her, did we?”
Kyungsoo gave his head a little shake, prompting you to ask, “Tell me what?”
“It’s a road trip through uhhh northeastern Spain -”
Chanyeol’s elaborate account of the itinerary was drowned in the whirlpool of emotions that erupted within you at the mention of the country. That part of your life you had locked away in the deepest, darkest corners of your consciousness now stared you straight in the eyes, forcing you to acknowledge a reality far too jarring for your fragile state of mind. You took a sip of your long forgotten beverage to centre yourself but it didn’t take a genius to know that something was up.
Placing a hand on your head, he asked softly, “What is it, Shifu? I understand if you can’t leave Eomma alone at this point...”
“It’s not Eomma,” you took another sip of the drink to fight the lump in your throat, “Eomma is - Eomma is in Bucheon, visiting her sister. For I don’t know how long but...long.”
“Is it work?” contributed Kyungsoo.
“I quit my job,” you answered and he looked at you as if you, a total stranger, had just asked him his body count.
Chanyeol took your hand in his and reiterated, “Come, then? You need this.”
Your gaze bounced between the two men who wore the exact same expression in expectation of two entirely different answers. And whatever you chose to say next, you were sure to disappoint one of them.
Eyes unfocussed, a deafening ringing echoing in your ears, you declared softly, “I need this,” with a million unpleasant scenarios running through your head, making you sick to the stomach.
Chanyeol pulled you in for a bear hug. Kyungsoo rolled his eyes and let out a deep, disappointed sigh.

Zeke and Reiner birthday collab!! It was supposed to be longer but my sens of organisations is close to zero so I was late as usual @saccharine-darling collab!!!
4K words, smut ahead (but not that much lol)
Warning: reader is low-key cheating, semi public sex maybe angst too idk….
Perhaps the sun, always glorious and a harbinger of delight and bliss, reminded you of how dull and dreary your life was, while the moon and its obscurity brought you back to your slumbers and reveries.
On a bright day when everything seemed dark, questioning your relationship with Reiner, you met him, Zeke Yeager, like a light among the stars, like the moon eclipsing the sun for a mere moment, but maybe long enough to forget about how bright the sun used to shine.
—LUNAR ECLIPSE—
Tumblr media
A single tiny piece of sunshine that seemed to escape from the firmament to find refuge, a curtain slightly ajar so that the darkness did not take over the whole room and one side of the bed unmade, the grey cotton sheets crumpled as usual, as they have been every morning for several months now. It was all these little details, in addition to your noisy alarm clock, the passers-by and the cars in the city streets, that brought you out of your long and sweet reverie, the one that allowed you to escape from your daily life, which was morose, to say the least.
You gathered up what courage you had left and got up after stretching your numb limbs from the awkward position you had been in while sleeping. Walking a few steps to reach the window, you opened the shutters and curtains to finally let the sweet sunshine into the sad room, which needed it. Although you had no desire to see him again, your stomach was just rumbling with anticipation of anything that might fill it. So you opened the white wooden door, turned the gold handle, and headed for the main room of your little flat.
"Morning." You greeted with a sigh before opening one of the small doors in the wall shelves to pick up a black patterned mug into which you poured coffee straight from the coffee pot.
"Hm." The short-haired man simply replied without even bothering to look in your direction, as if he didn't care about your presence anymore.
You didn't even care, you'd taught your heart not to feel bruised by every loveless move he made. He just couldn't stand you anymore, he didn't love you like he used to. You don't know what changed, what you could have done to make your sweet and loving boyfriend suddenly change his behaviour.. The idea that he had met someone else had crossed your mind more than once, but you didn't even dare ask him; you were frightened of the answer he might address you. Despite his silence, you never stopped loving him and it hurt you deeply that he could have gone to someone else, another girl, maybe more beautiful, funnier... It's all these questions that have little by little pushed you away from him in your turn.
"Did you sleep well? It was hot last night and I had a little trouble falling asleep.” But you tried to talk to him, no matter what, you always found something to say to try to reconnect with the man you loved.
With the summer, the heat and the sun, he had even more excuses to go out at all hours of the day so you had even less opportunity to see him. At times you can't help but think back to the days when you would jump into his arms as soon as you heard his keys turn in the front door lock, when you would spend the evening in each other's arms whispering sweet nothings. You think back on those moments with great melancholy, you don't even feel like the same man anymore.
“Yeah.” Once again, he didn't look at you; his head was turned towards the television, which was showing a programme even more boring than the questions you were asking him to break the ice. Slumped on the sofa, his left leg stretched out and the other bent; you sat down next to him and put your cup on the living room’s small coffee table.
"We could go out today, don't you think? I miss when we used to go for walks in the city Reiner." You asked, your eyes on him, and thankfully you noticed a small movement in his regard as if in a second he had recalled happy memories, memories where everything still seemed perfect.
"I...I already have stuff planned." He replied after a short moment, his gaze still evasive.
"Oh...Okay." You simply answered, not wanting to annoy him longer, maybe that was the reason; you were too much on his back, you were asking for too much attention...
Silently sipping your coffee, you pondered for a moment, your mind elsewhere. After a few minutes of communicating to yourself, you made your settlement. You were going to go out without him, you didn’t need him for everything. It had been weeks since you had been out with just yourself and you were beginning to miss it; when you officially moved in with him, away from your family, you lost touch with many of your friends so it was high time to meet new people and have some fun for once.
So the day passed, the noon and then the afternoon; you had decided to go out at night to appreciate everything even better, the big lights on the main boulevard, itself filled with people dancing -contrasting with their morose faces of the day-, the bars full of life, the stars overhanging the sky and giving it a bit of light in its solitary gloom...Everything seemed more beautiful once the sun was down. Perhaps the sun, always bright and a harbinger of delight and hapiness, reminded you of how dull and dreary your life was, while the moon and its night brought you back to your slumbers and reveries.
Using your phone, you took down the address of a bar in your town that you had spotted earlier on one of your walks. It was quite big but seemed to be a bit of an upmarket bar, given the prices of the drinks. But you didn't give up, it was your night out, all to yourself and it didn't matter if you ended up broke, you wanted to have fun for once.
So when night fell, you put on your best evening dress, a short black dress, hugging your body to perfection without being too tight, and your pumps of the same colour - a little high and uncomfortable, but that would be a problem for later -. And of course, you took forever to make yourself beautiful in the bathroom, make-up, eyebrows, nails... Who knows, maybe you were going to meet someone, or maybe somewhere in the back of your mind, you wished Reiner would see you like this, that he would fall in love with you again like he did a few years before when he saw you at that campus party. You would have liked him to compliment you, to ask you to stay home, or even to ask you out instead; but none of that; he was already off somewhere while you were primping in the next room.
Turning the key in the lock of the front door, you then went down the stairs quickly - trying not to fall with your impractical high heels - and went to the taxi you had ordered beforehand because, although the bar was not far away, you were still a woman in a short dress at night and you didn't want to put your life in danger. Once in the car, the driver began to drive carefully, exchanging a word or two with you so that the journey would not be too boring.
"So, a girls' night out? It's a beautiful day right now, even at night, you're lucky to see the stars in the city, with the pollution, not everyone gets to see them so often." The man says to you, hands on the wheel, looking straight ahead, preparing to brake at the red light.
"Yeah, that's right. I'm going out to have some fun." You simply replied to the white-haired, long-bearded widow with the same unkempt light colour.
"In my day, me and my friends used to run out of bars, unpaid!" He recalled with a smile as he looked at you through the car window to look at your smiling face, too. "So if you need me to wait for you outside the bar so you can escape, don't hesitate, the police have never caught me...yet."
"It's going to be hard for me to run around with these things on my feet...but I'll make a note, the prices are outrageous." You replied to his somewhat amusing remark.
The car had been driving for several minutes now and you saw the front of the bar, so the driver pulled over and waited for you to give him the money for the fare, which you said after digging into your wallet for a few seconds.
“Take care of yourself miss” He finally said before rolling up the driver's side window and leaving.
You breathed out a deep breath before crossing the street that separated you from the place. It was, like all the other signs of this kind, much more animated at this hour and more beautiful too. Its many lights of all colours and the people who surrounded it, some outside to smoke or drink and others, inside laughing with friends, that you could see between the half-open doors... All this gave an astonishing charm to this place.
Your legs a little shaky with hesitation, you finally entered, putting your hands on one of the glass doors to push it open slightly to give yourself more room to pass. You quickly made your way to the bar at the far right of the large room. To avoid people who had already had too much to drink, you stayed close to the walls, walking quickly along them to wait for the right place. Although your steps went in one direction, your eyes, curious as they are, turned towards the dance floor and the other people present. They seemed so happy, full of life, smiling, dancing... You wondered immediately if, like you, their lives were not a reflection of their current emotions, if, like you, they woke up in the morning, sad with the feeling that their lives are meaningless. They seem so happy at the time, but are they really happy once the sun rises, once the bar lights go out?
You took a seat on one of the leather stools placed at the counter, waiting for a waiter to ask you what you wanted to order. A simple whisky, that's what you took when the waiter came towards you.
Sipping your drink -or rather the second one, as you had swallowed the first one in record time-, you continued to look at the others, indefinitely, when you heard a voice break your precious silence; it was the bar's waiter once again but this, this time he was holding a small plate with two drinks on it.
"Excuse me, here," he placed two more glasses of whiskey in front of you, "The man over there paid for you." He nodded towards another part of the room to your puzzled look. In the distance, there was a group of men who looked like businessmen, from the black suits they were still wearing. You didn't know which man he was talking about, there were several of them; two with blond hair, one who looked very effeminate and the other with glasses and a beard; a dark-skinned man with closely shaved hair and finally a dark-haired man who seemed to be smaller in stature, especially compared to one of the blond men beside him.
You turned back your head to its original position, a little smile on your face, proud that your charm was still working, and what's more, on a man who seemed rather attractive - because, even if you didn't know which man the drink came from, the four of them were rather to your liking -
"Is this seat taken?" A deep yet soft voice suddenly asked, taking you out of your reverie.
You turned towards the noise you had just heard and noticed that a young man, about your age or maybe older, was pointing with his index finger at the chair next to yours. He was one of the guys you just saw some minutes prior, one of the blonde, the one with the beard and the round silver glasses.
“Oh...No. No, it’s not, you can take it,” you answered as naturally as possible, with a smile that had not yet left your lips. The unamed man said before sitting on the chair at your right, he had a cup in his hand, half empty.
“So...What a girl like you is doing here..” he leaned over a little to look at the other vacant seat on your left. “...all by herself?”
"Oh well, I was supposed to come with someone but they dropped me... so I preferred to come alone." you replied honestly, your eyes looking into his.
"He doesn't know what he's missing then." He added with a small smile and a discreet wink.
Although the man was attractive, you weren't used to that anymore; going out to bars, being accosted…Since you were with Reiner, you had developed the habit of always replying negatively to the advances of men. But at the moment everything was racing through your brain, you didn't even know what he was doing tonight and he didn't even bother to ask you where you were going, as if he didn't care anymore.
To have fun. That was the promise you made to yourself, and you decided to keep it.
"Zeke, nice to meet you. "You finally told him after he asked your name and, of course, you asked his in return.
Maybe it was the liquor, or maybe it was the sense of freedom you hadn't had the pleasure of feeling in months, but for some reason you'd ended up chatting with him for hours. You knew that time was passing, thanks to the waiter's digital watch that lit up every time he lifted his arm to look for a bottle up high, your eyes were directed straight to the sudden glimpse of light in the darkness.
He offered to dance, which you refused, for fear that your heels would give out under your inexperienced movements - or maybe those embarrassing movements were the real reason - and then he offered you something else, something a little daring, maybe even too daring for the short time you'd both been sitting at the bar.
You accepted, without even considering too much, maybe you should have? or maybe the adrenaline and the alcohol in your veins spoke for you. This man had appeared like lightning in the middle of a storm, the moon in the middle of a sky devoid of light. In other words, he was there at the right time.
So there you were, without really knowing how or why, sitting on the edge of one of the sinks in the bar's toilets, your dress somewhat raised so that your skin could come into contact with the cold surface of the piece of furniture, your legs spread -it was almost pathetic- and his hands placed on your half-opened thighs, rough hands, large and painted with several blue veins, contrasting with his rather light skin and which gave in spite of themselves a little colour to his light skin.
"Are you sure no one will come and disturb us here?" You asked, putting your hands on his chest, still dressed, although he had removed his black blazer. Only a white shirt prevented you from coming into direct contact with his skin, the one you wanted so much, now.
"Don't worry...just relax, okay?" He moved closer to you and placed a soft kiss on your neck that made your eyelids close almost instantly.
His lips began to move freely over your face and chest, as if they couldn't decide where to land. His arms were still wrapped around you, moving around your back, catching the fabric of your dress at times, as if to bring you closer to him.
While your eyelids were still closed, your ears were attentive to every little sound in the room, as if they were ready to inform your body of someone's arrival or, as was the case now, to hear the zip of his trousers being quickly undone.
"Are you sure?" You felt his warm breath next to your ears, as if he were telling you a well-kept secret.
"I'm sure." You retorted, ready to submit to one of the cardinal sins. Although, you would have much preferred that he took you home, for comfort, at least.
You felt his long, hot member between your thighs, with a long sigh of your own. He was already hard as a rock, and you wet as the ocean, for a flash of a second you wondered if this was his intention all along and if he had noticed you as soon as you stepped into that bar and then, a little heat growing in your crotch made you forget about this useless questioning.
You tried not to be too blatant, but as his pelvic thrusts got more profound and faster, you couldn't stop a few moans from escaping your lips.
"Fuck...a body like that.." He commented, using two of his fingers to push the fabric of the neckline of your dress and expose one of your breasts to the air.
"Zeke..." You moaned languidly as he continued his back and forth.
"What? You don't agree maybe? Look at you." He questioned, though his question was mostly rhetorical at this point because yes, indeed, you had noticed what a disadvantageous position you were in. "Poor girl... so desperate, I almost feel sorry for you, you know"
Then he stopped for a moment and grabbed you by the waist, pulling you down from the sink where your feet did not touch the floor. He turned you, a little violently, and pressed your belly against the surface of the sink, allowing him to have a full view of everything below, which, as you could imagine, he was most interested in.
He kept his burning hands on your hips - you could feel it even through the lmere piece of tissue that separated your skin from his - to help his pelvis move even harder, which released even more little moans from you, trying as hard as you could to muffle them with the palm of your hand, though it was more than futile.
"I'm almost there...Fuck you feel amazing..." he groaned in a hoarse voice, his movements becoming more and more tired but still rough, as if he wanted to get it over with quickly.
With all the alcohol you'd ingested -which you weren't really used to doing anymore- your envy was even bigger than usual but, strangely, your pleasure wasmore distant, as if each movement was taking you further away from the orgasm. But you didn't give up, your lower body was still on fire, as if insatiable, never satiated - although the fingers he placed on your clitoris helped a little with that -
With a final grunt from him and a long moan from you, your mutual pleasure finally came to an end. And suddenly all your senses came back to you; you felt his hips pressed against you, his hands roaming over your half-dressed body, the surface of the washbasin which was no longer really cold thanks to your own warmth, the air conditioning of the toilet which didn't even have a window and finally, the dimmed lights of the room.
He withdrew from you after a few seconds -or maybe a few minutes, you didn't even know anymore-, removed the soiled condom he had put on beforehand and wrapped it in paper before throwing it precautiously in the trash. Returning to you a moment later, he pulled up the black lace lingerie that had been left on one of your calves and pulled your dress back on, placing a gentle kiss on your shoulder, in stark contrast to his rough actions earlier.
Once out of the toilet, under the innocent gaze of the other customers, he proposed to you, leaning against the wall near the exit, to meet him the next day, at an address he had given you, that of his flat. Should you? You had felt so good a few minutes before, but now that you had regained your senses, everything was confused. Sure he was charismatic, quite funny and cultured but Reiner couldn't leave your consciousness so easily, you had been through so much with him, you couldn't leave him after just one night with another man.
But you accepted. You were not committed to anything, you had only given him your name; you would have the whole day to think quietly, away from the hustle and bustle of the bar and with less alcohol flowing through your veins.
So after a simple kiss on your cheek, he called you a taxi and even opened the door for you, wishing you a good night. The ride was short, you didn't even think about him for a second but only about Morpheus, who seemed to be screaming your name, your comfortable bed was the only thing you craved now.
***
Just a tiny bit of sunlight sticking out of the door, one hand on the handle and the other on your purse, a great gulp of air escaping from your lungs and finally, the guilt that took over your mind suddenly, once the door was open.
What the fuck had you done.
The blond boy with the marked facial features was there, lying on the couch, his body covered by one of your blankets and, in his sleeping hand, his phone still open on the messaging application where you could read your name. You turned on your phone, something you hadn't done all evening.
"Where are you? You're not home." Please come back home I have a surprise for you. "Hey?" "Please tell me that you're okay at least. "I love you." "Sorry"
You were confused, it had been a long time since he had stopped sending you such messages, words that seemed to indicate his attachment to you. So you turned on one of the lamps in the living room to get a better look, because the light from the television wasn't bright enough to illuminate the whole room.
A table covered with a red tablecloth with small decorative patterns, a large candle in the centre, which had once been lit by the dripping wax but was now out and cold, two plates and cutlery, one full and one half eaten, and to top it all off, your old friend the Guilt, who was just whispering maliciously in your ears.
"You're back..."
At the sound of the still sleeping little voice, your eyes suddenly widened and your body felt heavy now, as if your legs were going to give out under your weight. But you turned back to him, not looking at all. He looked tired and was dressed in his pyjamas, a simple white tank top with grey shorts.
"Oh hi." You replied simply, a little confused by the situation.
He walked towards you, with a shy smile on his face, like a child trying to get close to a wild animal that might run away at any moment.
"I wanted to... "He looked down at your outfit and his gaze shifted for a moment, as if he'd just realised you'd spent the night away from home and, as he knew you didn't really have any friends here, that you'd spent it out there alone. But he didn't say a word and continued, "I wanted to apologise. I've been a shit to you and I know that. I'm so sorry, I know you deserve better, but I promise I'll make it up to you."
You frowned and opened your mouth, letting fresh air enter between your lips. Reiner probably read the confused and shocked expression on your face, so he continued.
"I had so much on my mind right now, you know, I feel so bad. I would do anything for you..I..I don't know...I should have told you about it my love I'm sorry." You saw a tear escape from his right eye, almost reaching his rosy cheek before he wiped it away with his hand, "Maybe we could try again?" with his fragile fingers, he took you by the hand and looked you straight in the eyes. "Please, I love you so much."
You should have been happy. You should have jumped into his arms, told him that all was forgiven, promised him a bright future, put your lips against his. But you were as if frozen, like a criminal before the police, like a slow prey before its fast predator.
So you stood there, forcing a small smile that on the surface said 'all is well' but in reality depicted your unhappiness even more than the tears. He responded to your smile, wrapping his warm arms around you, as you had so dreamed of, as you would have loved this very morning.
You couldn't even think straight. Had he planned all this for you? That's why he didn't want to go out. And you had gone elsewhere, while all he could think about was you, all he could think about was making things right.
Lying. It was the only solution. You wouldn't see Zeke again tomorrow, you would forget him, this evening would be a distant memory, like a dream so realistic that you would almost forget that it had never happened.
Like the moon on an eclipse day, it had hidden the sun, almost making you forget its beauty and warmth, temporarily providing some comfort in the dark night that the luminous orb had caused when it suddenly left.
It was tears that lulled you that night, under the mocking eye of the moon.

MASTERLIST
+++++
Everyone was packing up and you rushed to get things in order. Your coffee had gone cold hours ago, and some poor intern would be responsible for throwing it away from wherever you had left it. Working in the film industry could be rough, and this was just backstage. You went through the set, automatically putting things in order as you moved and waved goodbye to others. Stuffing the last of your things in your overstuffed bag, you left to find a taxi. You were glad you weren’t working tomorrow morning, for you planned to have a long hot shower and an undisturbed sleep after a long time.
It was late at night and no taxis came your way. You hated taking an Uber this late, but desperate times call for desperate measures. You had only just taken out your phone when a car stopped in front of you. The driver’s side door opened, and a smiling Chris Evans greeted you.
“Can I give you a ride milady?” He asked and you snorted.
“You have the worst English accent. If you do that in London, they’ll smell the imposter in you” You said. “And it’s cool, I’m calling an uber.”
Chris frowned, leaning against the door with arms spread, his few sizes short, too tight shirt stretching over his broad frame. You felt like he needed to be arrested for the cardiac arrests he may cause.
“At this time, and even when a handsome, chivalrous man is offering a safe ride? You wound me sweetheart.” He grabbed his left boob, faking a pained expression and you sighed.
“God, you’re awful Chris. You sure it’s okay, a little out of your way isn’t it?”
“Y/n, there is not one place in the world I wouldn’t go with you”
You let your hair form a curtain to hide your blush, clearing your throat awkwardly and stepping in his car. His car smelled like his cologne, the heady scent sticking to your clammy skin. You went for the radio, soft country music running in the background.
“So, what are you doing this weekend?” Chris asked.
“I live a boring life man. I’m probably gonna clean my shit and stock my kitchen with as much instant food as I can.”
“Well, if you want, we can go somewhere. Make your boring weekend interesting.” Chris suggested, glancing at you as he maneuvered around the traffic. You fidgeted, playing with your fingers as you avoided his eyes. Saying no to him was getting difficult every time. You wished the radio was turned up louder so this conversation could be avoided.
“Oh, you know me. I like to lay in, be a lazy girl.” You tried to say nonchalantly, and Chris’s hands clenched around the wheel. You stared out the window, watching the city breeze past as things got awkward inside. You didn’t speak until he pulled up in front of your home, and you reached for the door before the car even stopped, a farewell on your tongue when you were pulled back by the seatbelt.
You blushed, hands frantically trying to undo the clasp and Chris’s hands covered yours, releasing you. You breathed deeply as he was leaning into you, face just a few inches away. You could count his lashes this close, see the exact shape of that mole on his cheek and feel his breath on you. You pulled back, quickly opening the door and almost stepping out before you were pulled back again, this time by Chris’s hand grabbing your upper arm. He tugged you back into your seat and came close enough to touch your nose with his.
“You know you can’t keep blowing me off,” He muttered. His hand tucked your hair behind your ear, blue eyes intently looking in yours. “I can’t take your no because I know you don’t mean it. Why do you keep running away?”
You gulped uneasily, wiggling out of his grip and getting out of the car. He was still looking at you, waiting for an answer. You shook your head slightly, feet kicking the ground at your feet.
“Thank you for the ride Chris. Drive safe.”
The door swung shut behind you and you walked away without another look, hiding away inside your home and trying to calm your beating heart.
+++++
You remembered disabling your alarm last night, so what the hell was that awful noise. Burrowing your head in your pillow, you tried to go back to sleep until the pounding continued. You growled, ready to rip out a new one to whoever was stupid enough to disturb your sleep. Uncaring of your attire, the t-shirt barely reaching midthigh over your panties you marched to your door, a scowl on your face.
You ripped open your door, already mid-triad before noticing who it was.
“Look, you need to shut the hell up. I work 14 hours a day, barely eat and sleep and you trying to break my door down is not –”
Chris smiled at you, amusement glittering in his eyes which raked over your bare legs. Your mouth parted for an embarrassingly long amount of time before you remembered you bed hair, morning breath (more like mourning breath) and the ratty t-shirt with holes. You pulled down on the hem, aware that you weren’t wearing a bra and it was too late to hide.
“What the hell are you doing here at this ungodly hour?” You asked Chris and he held up his hands to show he had food.
“Ungodly? Its 10 am miss, and your loyal subject is here to feed you.”
He moved past you into your house without invite, putting down the paper bag which had grease stains on it. Despite your shock and anger, your stomach grumbled, and you shut the door behind you. You rolled your eyes at his cheek, but that stuff looked too tempting to say no to.
“Since you’ve decided to intrude on my morning, make yourself useful and put on some coffee. I’m gonna change” You said and walked towards your bedroom.
“Like the way you look!” Chris shouted from behind you and you flipped him off without looking, ignoring his chuckle.
Why the hell was he here? After the way you guys had left things last night, you would have thought he would be too pissed to talk to you. You sighed as you pulled on a bra and something other than a 10-year-old t-shirt. You found him setting the table, laying down breakfast as the smell of coffee filled the kitchen. He smiled when he saw you had pulled your hair into a messy bun and winked at you.
“Here, larger portion for you.” He said handing you a plate of your favorite food. You took it, feeling like a guest in your own home as he served and poured you a mug of coffee, made perfectly as you like it. You both ate in silence for a while, the sound of cutlery the only thing to be heard. Finally, you pinned him with a stare, pushing away your plate.
“Chris, what are you doing here? Seriously.”
He chewed the morsel in his mouth before leaning his hands on the table and clasping his hands. It felt like an interview and you wished you had something better on, like an armor, to deal with whatever he was going to say.
“Well, if you want an honest answer here, I’d say I am here because I wanted to see you. I didn’t want you having some instant meal for the 10th time this week, so I got you some breakfast.”
You looked away from him, chewing on your lip. You wished he wouldn’t be so sweet. If he were a sleazy bastard, saying no to him would be so easy. Yet, here he was getting you food and being all domestic, making your life more difficult.
“Look, I appreciate this but I – Chris, we can’t happen. You need to stop this.”
It seemed like he was contemplating you, trying to guess what went on in that head of yours. He reached across to take your hand in his, lacing your fingers and stroked.
“I can’t stop. I tried, trust me I did. I can’t. I see you on the set and I want to whisk you away in the vanity away from prying eyes. I see you anywhere at all, with any other man I want to punch his face. Y/n don’t tell me I am imagining things. I’ve seen the way you look at me. You want me too, don’t you?”
The chair made a screeching noise as you snatched your hand away from his and got up, pacing the room. You were shaking your head, trying to think of a way to make him understand.
“Chris, we won’t work, you and me.”
“Why the fuck not? How can you even know if you won’t give us a chance? And I am the one who’s supposed to have fucking commitment issues.”
You wrung your hands, sitting in front of him again. He looked angry and frustrated, not knowing how much you wanted to say yes. But you knew in your heart of hearts that a very basic thing will never let you be.
“I won’t give it a chance because we’re different. We like different things, and well, sometimes they can be too much to compromise.”
“Like what, huh?”
You looked down in your lap, playing with the lint that stuck to your leggings. It was an embarrassing thing to admit, but you knew it would hold a lot of importance to this relationship. Taking a sharp breath, you told him the truth.
“I don’t like dogs. In fact, they terrify me.”
Chris lurched back as if it was the last thing he expected to come from you. He probably expected some tale of family drama or relationship trauma, but your reasons were simpler. You had cynophobia, the fear of dogs. You couldn’t be in the same room with them without getting shit scared. Chris blinked at you, like it was the dumbest thing you could have said.
“Excuse me? You refuse to go out with me because you don’t like dogs?”
You gave him a critical look, raising a brow.
“Have you seen your social media accounts? You love Dodger probably more than you love any human being. You’re a self-proclaimed ‘huge dog guy’. And me…I can’t be in the same room with one. We won’t work out Chris, and I would rather save myself the heartbreak.”
This was clearly not something Chris was prepared for. He looked baffled, not knowing what to say. You wished it were a small thing, but it wasn’t. Everyone who knew Chris could tell how much he loved dogs. His Instagram page was basically a Dodger fan page. He had the name tattooed on his body. You could never work out simply because Chris would always be choosing between you and his doggo, and you would be too busy being scared of him to enjoy your time with Chris.
He released a deep breath, straightening his shoulders.
“We’ll make it happen. A lot of people fear things, and they get over it. It can work out. When you meet Dodger, you’ll forget you’d ever been scared of a dog. He’s a good boy, trust me.”
“Chris” You said shaking your head, “You don’t understand. I like dogs but only from afar. They terrify the living daylights out of me. I just – why don’t you understand? This is already so embarrassing”
He got up and sat next to you, his hand on your shoulder. “Look, just give me one chance. I know we can be great, okay? One chance is all I am asking. If it gets too much, we end it. I promise, it will be like nothing ever happened.”
You didn’t want to believe him. You shouldn’t have, but he was the man you’d been crushing on for nearly a year now. He was smart and kind and funny, he worked for the good causes and god he was such a treat to look at. You should have said no, had your coffee and left it at that. But there was only so many times you can say no to Chris Evans, especially when he’s pursuing you like the proverbial hound of hell.
“One chance Chris.”
+++++
This was a bad idea and you were regretting it already. You were practically hiding behind Chris, bunching his shirt under both hands as your head peeked over his large body. You were not ready to meet Dodger, at least not without a bomb suit.
“Hey, relax, he’s a right love. I’ve been showing him your pictures on my phone and he loves you already.” Chris tried to placate you and you replied with a pathetic whimper.
The door had barely opened before the golden brown doggo ran towards you and you squeaked. He bounded on Chris and you, Chris laughing and rubbing him behind the ear while you backed away. Dodger kept trying to come towards you and Chris had to hold him back by the collar while offering you a hand.
“Come on Y/n, he doesn’t bite. He’s a cutie.” Chris called but you shook your head, your knees vibrating. You edged away, taking deep gulps of breath as fear overtook you. It was pathetic really how scared you were since Dodger wasn’t even a huge dog, but it still took every last bit of your willpower to not just run away.
“Chris I can’t. Please.” You begged and he must have heard the fear in your voice. He pulled Dodger inside the house, the barks getting fainter as they moved in and you stayed frozen in your track. He came out after a couple minutes and immediately took your shoulders, rubbing softly.
“Hey, hey look at me. He’s inside now, okay?”
You nodded and buried your head in his chest, feeling more embarrassed than ever. Chris hugged you, shushing you gently.
“I am so sorry Chris, I just can’t. I told you this won’t work” You said, and Chris pulled away to look in your eyes. His blue eyes were determined as they stared in yours and you blinked up at him with watery eyes.
“No, it’s my fault. I shouldn’t have sprung this up on you like this. We’ll start small, okay?” He urged and you bit your lip, uncertain. Chris rubbed his nose to yours, pressing a kiss on your lips and both your cheeks. “Please Y/n, just give me more time. We’ll work it out.”
You wanted it to work out too. The dates you had gone on had been nothing short of amazing. When you were with Chris you laughed like never before, the conversation so unrestrained. You didn’t worry about hiding your flaws, feeling so comfortable in his company. And then there was the sex. It was so good. In fact, it was spectacular.
“I don’t know how we’ll make it work.” You admitted softly and Chris smiled at you, cupping your face in his huge hands.
“We’ll do it together baby. Don’t give up on us just yet please.” You pressed your forehead to his and breathed in his scent, letting it wash over you. Nodding your affirmation, you let him lead you inside his house, Dodger locked inside the bedroom.
“I feel terrible for locking him in.” You said and you did. Just because dogs scare you doesn’t mean you hate them. You just feared going near them. You watched those cute puppy videos on YouTube to help relax yourself, only you didn’t want any dogs around you.
“Don’t worry about him. He’s with his stuffed lion.”
You cuddled on the couch, watching some 90s movie and you wished with everything that this would somehow work out.
+++++
It took you a while to decide if this was heaven or hell. You were awing and yelping simultaneously, and Chris laughed from behind you, his hands wrapped around your waist. Nuzzling his nose in your neck, he bit your ear softly uncaring of the people around you.
“Oh my god” You must have said this a dozen times already, but you were simply in awe. When Chris said you’ll start small you didn’t think he meant literally. In front of you were some of the cutest, softest, smallest puppies and you finally decided this was heaven.
“I figured we’ll begin from the beginning. Go up slowly, get you used to being around canines.” He bit you again as he said that and you giggled. Turning your head, you captured his lips in an elated kiss, touched that he was going to go through this with you.
“This is amazing.” You said and the corners of his eyes crinkled with his smile. He led you to the corner where a small black puppy with spots on his toes was wagging his tail at you. You awed, not afraid of him in the least.
“You wanna tell me about your phobia a little?” Chris asked as you cradled the pup in the crook of your elbow, the little darling loving your finger running over his small belly.
“It’s kinda silly but when I was four, I was chased by my neighbor’s dog. I ran like hell and it almost bit me before they got it back in control. I’ve feared them ever since.”
Chris hummed, kissing the pup in his own hands and giving you a soft smile.
“This helps?”
“This helps.” You agreed.
Chris and you must have petted a dozen puppies, holding them in your hands, cooing to them and kissing their small noses. You clicked pictures and fed them from your hands, a cacophony of kissy noises and good boys flowing from you both.
“I’m gonna have to hide these pics or Dodger is gonna get jealous.” Chris said and you snorted, snuggling into his side. It was a beautiful day at the shelter, and you were surprised at how fun it was. Tired as you were, you were also acutely aware of Chris’s hand creeping up your thigh in the car. You looked out the window, suppressing your smile.
“So, we made some progress today” He said, and you hummed. “And you had a lot of fun” You hummed again.
Chris pulled you to him roughly by your collar, his tongue poking out to just lick at your bottom lip.
“I think I deserve a reward…” He trailed off and you finally let a smile spread on your lips.
“I think you do Mr. Evans” You agreed and pressed your lips over his, hoping the driver will overlook the noises in the back.
+++++
Baby steps worked, and over the course of the next few weeks you got more comfortable around dogs. You spent a lot of time with pups of all breeds, slowly moving on to the bigger dogs. It wasn’t all easy, few visits ended in tears and hopelessness, but Chris stayed by your side. He let you set the pace, accompanying you every time and praising you for every obstacle you crossed. He didn’t mind spending most of the time at your place and waved off your apologies about Dodger.
“We’re doing this for him too, so he can get to know you better. It’s okay with me.” He assured you after a passionate round of love making. You traced Dodger’s name on his bare chest, finger roving over the other scattered tattoos. He loved it when you traced them with your tongue and bit his nipples.
“I think I’d like to try another visit with him.” You finally admitted, peeking up at him from under your lashes. Chris grinned, pulling you closer.
“Are you sure? I don’t mind waiting.”
“I think I’m ready Chris. I want to meet the good boy who’s sharing your heart with me.”
Rolling over you, Chris pressed kisses over your collar bones and chest, hands squeezing your curves. Your lips mashed together in a sloppy kiss and you felt him smile against you.
“There is no one else I’d rather give my heart to other than you and him.”
+++++
This time when the door opened you were not hiding behind Chris. You held a soft chew toy in your hand, a gift and an apology. Dodger ran towards Chris, tail wagging aggressively as he licked and nipped at every exposed bit of skin he could find. Chris giggled as he rubbed and scratched his baby, and you were very proud of not making any distressed sound or running away. When Dodger finally turned to you, you tentatively came towards him with the toy.
“Hello Dodger, you sweet sweet boy.” You greeted. You’d been with dogs almost as big as him now and felt little apprehension touching his soft coat. He whined under your touch, leaning into you and rubbing against your legs. Chris joined you, his hand finding yours in Dodger’s fur.
“Look buddy, mummy is ready to meet you. You like her, eh?”
Dodger barked in agreement, rolling over for belly rubs while you stared at Chris coyly.
“Mummy eh?” You teased and Chris blushed, kissing you softly.
“Well, only if you’ll have Dodger’s dad.” He said.
You playfully sat down on the floor, letting the cutie climb on your lap and scratching behind his ears that made him purr in satisfaction.
“What do you say Dodge, should I take him?” You asked and he wagged his tail, rolling around in your lap. You gazed lovingly at Chris, softly touching his bearded face.
“Well, only because Dodger says so.”
