That strange feeling of longing when you are at a train station, in a 24/7 open market, when you are buying a coke from the vending machine, watching the city lights glow from your window, when you’re walking aimlessly on a busy street after 5 pm, that feeling as if something is missing in your life and it will never come back although it was never there in the first place; that inexplicable urban sadness.

The fact that The Brothers Karamazov was written and is set in the second half of the 1800s and yet Grushenka does the very modern thing of dressing up to look as hot as possible to make your ex mad proves that humanity hasn't changed a bit and I love it

While I say sadness what I really mean is black hole inside me filled with nails and rocks and broken glass and the words I don't have anymore.

It's so adorable and heartfelt when authors dedicate the books they've worked so sincerely hard on to someone. (^o^) <3

Don't come at me
I'm the main character
And you have to like me!
Hey guys, sorry I suddenly and without warning hyperfixated on a 71-year-old dystopian novel, Montag is just so wet cat. He's my manic pixie dream girl, my good time boy, my sweet cheese, my loving wife. And also he kills people!
I promise I'll return to normal content soon, I just need to get all my F451 brainrot out

Y’all ever ugly cry over a 17TH CENTURY BIBLE FANFIC?! Because I did. I was NOT expecting myself to be crying over Adam and Eve from THE FUCKING BIBLE eating the fruit. The way Adam declared that he loved Eve ever since the day she was birthed from his rib, the fact he didn’t eat it out of temptation but out of loyalty, the fact that the very first sin after the fruit humanity committed was lust, the carnal desire and self destructive form of love. Milton rlly was cooking.
Nothing has made me more hateful towards Satan than “the book that makes Satan sympathetic”. In the most non-Christian way possible, fuck Satan.

I read most of Dracula Daily on my own last year, and oh my gosh it's so engaging and thrilling to be here for these early sections. Not only is the frequency of the emails a great way to keep the hype up (not to mention the fantastic addition of Re: Dracula this year), but the emotional intensity of the beginning of the story and the atmosphere of this locus horribilis Jonathan finds himself in are just SO immersive. Gothic horror at its finest, and we're all in the movie theater gasping and whispering to each other, "Did you see that?"
