Hi anon!! Istg I did not mean to wait this long to answer holy shit it’s been nearly 2 weeks I am SO sorry

But okok originally, I just wanted to redraw the “Ivan the Terrible and His Son Ivan” painting with my gijinkas, so YES Hollow was originally supposed to just. Die. In this au.

BUT since I’m a sucker for pre-sealing AUs where Hollow gets the chance to forge real relationships with the people around them, ig it’s my turn to do it now lol

SO!! Idk how canon this is, but I headcannon that, while the infection reduces people to their base instincts generally, the Radiance can choose to individually control certain bugs, so when she realises that the so called “Pure Vessel” isn’t hollow, she realises she has the perfect opportunity to take out the Pale King in a way that he’d never see coming, mostly bc of how deep in denial he is that Hollow is hollow, and bc he’s so confident that he’s safe within the palace walls; he’d be caught completely off guard.

So, long story short, Radi infects Hollow instead of Xero (ik he’s not a knight but the caption sounded more dramatic that way) and tries to assassinate the king. In a last ditch attempt to stop attacking their father, Hollow momentarily wrestles back control and stabs themself instead, which further confirms the fact to PK that his child has a will of their own.

Like. When Hollow stumbles in, dishevelled, hair out of place, their armour nowhere to be seen, he genuinely assumes that they’ve finished their tasks for the day and have been ordered into his study. When he realises they’re infected, his initial thought isn’t that they’re alive, but that he was wrong in his assumption that you need to have a mind to become infected, and he’s essentially given Radi an empty puppet to play with. It’s only when Hollow takes the initiative to fight back against Radi that it clicks for him.

So! I’m open to suggestions about how or why this happens bc I’ve not figured it out yet (maybe Radi figures Hollow’s a lost cause and there’s no point wasting more energy on keeping them under her control is they’re dying anyway??? Maybe some void fuckery happens??) the point is, as PK takes Hollow into his arms for perhaps the first time in their life, the heat of the infection leaves their eyes, and PK manages to heal them enough that he can call for help without worrying that they’re going to bleed out in his arms immediately.

In the palace gardens, where Hornet is having a tea party with Herrah and the White Lady, PK’s cry for help is heard and Hollow is taken into a room where they can rest and heal (in the same wing of the palace as pk and wl’s room bc holy fucking shit we’ve been treating our child like an object their whole life they don’t even have a proper bedroom wtf is wrong with us).

That’s honestly as far as I’ve gotten with anything regarding a plot,

Review of made weak by time and fate, but strong in will by dialux

Summary: I really really enjoyed this fic, the characterizations made me actually like the characters like A LOT. Some characters were underdeveloped, but thats alright because it’s such a lily/James focused fic. Ending was good but a little unfulfilling. I do think some of the dramatics and action became more confusing than true plot devices, but it would have gotten very very long with full transitional throughout the book. Criticisms aside, incredibly well written, amazing prose, and truly beautiful symbolism. I read this in about 24 hours.

Okay, so, initial thoughts.

I loved all the camp scenes and I kinda got bored when it cut to Nini and Ricky ehehe. i really liked showing the different dynamics of the girls together and the guys and exploring those friendships more and, obviously, Portwell were adorable! I love them and will defend them constantly However, I……am not a fan of a potential EJxGinaxRicky love triangle thing being POTENTIALLY set up (????) and I'm also not a fan of this love triangle POTENTIALLY resolving itself by POTENTIALLY having nini come to camp and rini gets back together. yes this is all my speculations for the rest of the season ehehuhuhuesohohoohhafhdlakjdsfhasdf Both Ricky and Nini need time away from each other to gain their own independence and to understand why their relationship ended in the first place (i cannot remember if in s2 they actually covered that or not. i do remember their breakup scene was good? in the sense that it followed exactly what the show was setting up in s2 for rini)

But who knows. Maybe Rini will reunite and actually be a better fit after some time apart to grow as people? I'll just have to see how that goes.

And while I used to ship rina and due to that, I will probably have a slight soft spot for them in the sense of just liking their scenes together………….i am very concerned for portwell's happiness. This is supposed to be Gina's season and EJ plays a big role for that and he's also getting even more screentime I--------

i just want portwell to be happy okay???

Chapter 2: I follow every little whiff

You gave yourself a day off that week. Rather, the desolation of Birch allowed you an excuse to get away from your desk. An internet outage across the town had you up and wandering the main road just after noon. Your grandmother refused to join you so she was left to her true crime novel and the weekday droning of talk show hosts.

After a peek in the book shop where you picked out some used thrillers for your nan and a guilty splurge on one of Babs' pies to add to the surprise, you stopped by the diner and had some soup to warm up from the unrelenting cold. You played around on your phone as you blindly slurped from your spoon. With no available connection, you swapped candies to achieve a score high enough to get to the next round.

After another loss, you put your screen down and added some pepper to the tomato soup. You leaned your chin in your hand and peered across the road. The Asp was just diagonal from The Chipped Saucer and from your seat by the window you could see the comings and goings of the dingy bar.

You chuckled to yourself as you remembered the hundreds of comments on your video. You weren't entirely surprised that the internet cheered at the sight of a woman beating up a man in broad daylight, you'd seen much worse on the web. But many were curious and asked about how it started and about the small town alluded to in the caption.

You picked up your phone and flipped open the camera. You pointed it through the glass as one of the many bikers strutted out of the bar and down the street. You knew him, like most in town, he was the leader's right hand man. Steve Rogers. He had an odd gait, rigid with long strides, and you remember Kelly used to make fun of him when you walked home from school. That felt like forever ago.

You ended the video and dropped your phone again. You'd send it to Kelly when the outage was over. It would be a good laugh. Plus, you hadn't heard from her much since she moved to the city.

You finished your soup and paid. You went out into the street and cut around to the backstreets. You made your way back to your nans and found Pippin scratching at the front door. You stopped and scooped him up before you let yourself in.

"Don't like the snow, do ya?" You set him down and he whipped his tail before skittering off, "hey nan, I got you some stuff."

"You spend too much," she grumbled as you hung your coat and grabbed her treats.

"Only on you," you sang as you entered the front room, "sugarless blueberry pie, your fave, and some books about murder and all that freaky stuff you love."

"Hmm," she watched you put the pie and books down on the coffee table, "suppose the pie will go good with tea."

"Ah, and I suppose I'll be making that tea?" You returned.

"My arthritis…" she pouted but her grin came through.

"Yeah, yeah," you snickered as you went to the kitchen to put on the kettle, "we going black today or something lighter?"

"Put on some of the pekoe," she called back, "make a whole pot."

"Will do, ma'am," you trilled and basked in her annoyed mutter.

When the internet came back, you sent of an email to inform the agency of the interruption and promised to meet your deadlines. Then you puttered around and added a caption to the video before you sent it off to Kelly; 'why he walk like that tho'. She sent a series of crying emojis back and told you to post it.

'Nah, it's a dumb joke.' You typed back.

'Saw ur last vid, ppl will eat it up,' she insisted.

'Well, got nothing else to put up. The account’s dying since no one cares about my writing.'

'DO IT.' Her words sealed your resolve and you uploaded the video with some dramatic music in the background.

The response was almost instantaneous. Several comments saying they were happy to see more and others being for another video. 'We all wanna see inside this fucked up town' one added and several latched on. Ignoring the questions of where this was, you gave a thin promise of future small town thug content. 

You turned back to your work email and opened up your draft for your next gig. You couldn't help but smile as you went over your work. You might have just found your niche.

You knew your nan would lose it if she knew you were snooping around the club, so you didn’t tell her. You went down, made her breakfast, went back upstairs to do your work, then tiptoed out in the late afternoon to poke around town for something to upload. Birch was so dull when you lived there but to those outside, it was a novelty you were all too eager to provide.

You got more videos of the bikers; some revving their bikes, others arguing, but there was nothing overly usable. You were getting bored of it until the man himself walked out of the bar. You record the man’s glower expression as he marched down the sidewalk and turned off just down the way.

‘His name is Bucket… wtf?!’ you keyed in and snorted as you waited for it to load to your account.

Still, there was nothing special going on, like always in Birch, and your grandmother was bound to get suspicious if you kept sneaking around. You went back and hid your phone before she could bitch about it. You cooked her dinner and sat with her as your thoughts swung between work and your TikTok.

You went to bed but couldn’t sleep. You ended up watching YouTube on your phone as the windows shook with the night winds. It wasn’t until the darkness began to glow that you were roused from the cocoon of your comforter. You looked out and saw smoke coming from the main road.

You didn’t think before you pulled on your jeans and shoved your feet into your slipper, unconcerned about them soaking through as you barreled down the stairs, the sleeves of your hoodie only half on. The back door bounced behind you and you crunched down into the snow and clamored past the row of lifeless houses. 

You were out of breath as you got to the end of the path and rounded the diner to gape over at the burning garage. You got closer as the line of bikers stood in their leather with breath puffing before them in the frigid night. You stepped back into the shadow of the brick façade of the realty office and swiped your camera open.

Your hands shook and you struggled to steady the image on the screen as the mechanic woman raged in only her tee shirt. You didn’t quite understand what was going on; only that her garage was up in smoke and then men were doing nothing to smother it. She swung at the dark haired man and spat at several others; “cowards”... “fuck all of you!”

You gulped and held your breath as she was dragged away by the large redheaded henchman of the slender outsider. She fought for a moment before she was flung over his shoulder and the biker followed their leader back to The Asp. You sidled in between the building and hid until the voices faded into the wind.

Well, that would be a hell of a video. It might even go viral.

Your phone did not stop. You almost felt bad as you saw the screen limn the edges of your cell as you left it face down on the little table beside the couch. Your nan sat in her rocking chair talking away on her corded phone to Linette from down the road. You suspected that every other person in town was gossiping about the same thing; the fire.

You finished your coffee and rubbed your eyes as you checked the time and ignored the pulsing notifications. It was too much to keep up with.

Your grandmother hung up and sighed, “can’t believe it. You hear?”

“Hear what?” you pretended ignorance.

“That old garage burned down. The one with the lady,” she said, “pity. When I was a girl, that place was a salon. Ma used to take us there to get our hair cut. The barber would give us wrapped candies and pretend to cut himself with his scissors.”

“Oh? It burned down?” you weren’t sure you were very convincing but you also could just say you saw it happen.

“Yep, no one really can say. You know, maybe she was welding or some rag caught, but I bet my money on those bikers,” she sneered.

“Good thing you’re poor,” you kidded, “and why the bikers?”

“Oh, well, you know Kimmy, Linette’s girl, works down at the diner and she saw that mechanic arguing with one of those strangers, the ones dealing with the club men. Well, it’s no coincidence that trouble follows those leather jackets around,” she rocked as she nodded knowingly, “oh, one of the boys I knew back in the day, he was found burnt up with his bike. They said the tank blew… well, I saw it and that tank was pristine.”

“Nan,” you gasped, “you… Jesus.”

“Well, things don’t change in Birch, we just get older,” she continued, “when you’re young, everything seems new but then you age and it’s all just the same.”

“Wow, how… inspiring,” you said dryly.

“Girlie, you gotta be careful,” she intoned, “that fire, that’s a lesson to all the women in this town. To everyone. You don’t cross the Commandos.”

“I don’t think anyone--”

“That’s another thing, there has never been a shortage of stupid people, not now not then,” she girded, “those women who get tied up in that club, their lives are already done.”

You frowned and hid your phone in your pocket as you stood. You rubbed your neck and picked up your empty mug, “I should get started.”

“Mmm,” she said as she dialed the phone again, “I wonder if Fran knows yet.”

You were being really fucking stupid but peer pressure was not a logical thing. Even through a screen, you found it hard to resist the goads. So there you were, your phone in your hand as you live-streamed your walk down to The Asp. The data costs alone would make you regret it but you were caught up in the hype of you fifteen second of internet fame.

“Alright,” you stopped across the street and gave a view of the moniker with Cleopatra sultrily looking down at you, “this is it… I just gotta play it cool…” you turned the lens towards you and smiled nervously, “hopefully that dude at the front doesn’t stop me.”

Comments flicked up the bottom of the screen so fast and smilies and hearts floated up the side around your face. You crossed the screen as you turned your phone against your coat and approached the bar door. The large biker butted out his smoke and you bared your teeth nervously. He didn’t stop you as he rolled his shoulders and coughed.

You entered to the noise of classic rock and low voices, the clink of glasses and tap of chalk on marble. You glanced around and quickly swept your phone around to give a view of the patrons. You hurried over to the bar and climbed up on a stool.

“You need a drink?” the woman behind the bar scowled. She looked worn out even with her lips painted bright pink and her eyes clouded with blue shadow.

“Uh, sure, can I… can I get one pint of everything you have on tap?” you asked as you set your phone down and shrugged out of your coat. You draped it over the next stool and reposition your phone as you flipped the cam and used the built in stand on the case to angle yourself onto the screen.

“Sure,” she narrowed her eyes and glanced past you.

You swung your feet as you waited for her to pour the five pints; some with too much foam and the others with no head at all. You took the first and held it up for the camera.

“A classic, BudLight,” you held it up to the light, “no head and…” you sipped, “flat.” You plunked it down and coughed as you grabbed the next, “this is a raddler?” you looked at the tap for confirmation, “grapefruit… smells like piss…” you had a sip, “tastes like it too.”

You chuckled to yourself and asked for a water. You made a show of swishing it around in your mouth before you moved onto the third beer.

“Had to cleanse the palate,” you joked, “now… lots of foam on this one, dark. You know, I’m pretty surprised they have Guinness here but let’s see…” you tasted it and crinkled your nose, “that’s it. Exactly like toilet water!”

You read some of the comments telling you to check the bottles for bugs and laughed. Suddenly you were yanked off the stool by the back of your shirt and your phone was swiped up by another man as the first restrained you. You struggled against his thick arm as it hooked around your neck and the leader of their crew stared at the screen of your cell.

“What the fuck are you doing?” he snarled as he hit the screen with his thumb but the stream kept going. He dropped the phone to the floor and stomped it instead.

“This is the bitch posting about us online,” the man at your back growled. It was Steve, the one with the weird walk.

“I doubt either of you know how to use a computer,” you scoffed, “hey, let me go.”

“And why would we do that when you’re snitching to the whole world, sweetheart?” Bucky kicked your phone away as he crossed his arms.

“Actually, I’m--” you grasped Steve’s arm as it threatened to get tighter, “--promoting your trash business. I was just having a tasting, if you had just asked--”

“Shut up!” Bucky stepped closer and brought your legs up and stopped him as you planted your feet against his stomach.

“Hey,” a woman’s voice came from behind the bar as the waitress shoved aside her empty tray, “hey, she’s just a kid.”

“Bullshit,” Bucky huffed, “she looks full-grown to me.”

“So what are you gonna do?” she said, “she’s young. You can’t--”

“Don’t tell me what I can’t do,” he snapped.

“She’s right,” another voice intoned and that man, Sam, came up beside them with a pool cue in hand, “she’s just goofing around.”

“She’s a rat,” Steve insisted.

“You’re being dramatic. It’s called a meme and you do walk a little strange,” he chuckled, “no one’s gonna follow her breadcrumbs back to this shithole anyway.”

Bucky considered Sam and then looked at Steve. He poked his cheek with his tongue and sucked his teeth.

“So… you vouching for her?” Bucky asked.

“She won’t cause any more trouble, promise,” Sam said, “I’ll make sure of it.”

“You better,” Bucky snapped his fingers and you were released, “get her out of here.”

Chapter 2

XY was staring at the ceiling. A week has already passed. And he still couldn't stop thinking about the day he spent with Marinette. It was the most fun he'd had in a while.

Before the whole Silencer fiasco, his father would not stop pressuring him to produce a new song. So when they met up for dinner and his dad came up with the idea of stealing someone else's music, he couldn’t bring himself to decline.

XY knew it was wrong.

But all he wanted was the chance to finally impress his dad. Bob Roth might not have the best attitude towards him, but he was all XY had left.

Xy already lost his mom. He would not lose his dad too.

At least, that's what he believed. He should've known that his father was just using him for money. According to his dad, money was the most valuable thing in life.

He felt a buzz in his pocket and his face immediately brightened. Marinette just texted him!

Marinette: what's up?

Marinette: have u been inspired yet?

Marinette gave XY the idea to just sit back and let inspiration hit him. It was a common idea but it was one that most people tend to forget in the long run.

XY: nothing much

XY: and nope.

XY: my dad has been pressuring me to come up with something tho

Marinette: ignore him

Marinette: he's just mad cause he can't get any ladies

The three dots popped up on his screen.

Marinette: OH CRAP I'M LATE

Marinette: TTYL.

XY rolled his eyes and smiled.

They've been texting back and forth these past few days. He's learned so many things about her and vice versa.

It was nice. It's been a while since XY has had a friend.

Maybe she'll be even more, XY couldn’t help but think as he ran a hand through his hair.

"Huh," XY said out loud. "Even more"

And just like that, inspiration for his next song hit him.

Marinette was thinking of a certain blonde-haired, blue-eyed musician when she heard her phone ring.

"Tikki!" she screamed, staring at her phone as if it was Hawkmoth himself.. "He's calling me. XY is calling me."

Tikki sighed and floated next to Marinette, "Maybe you should answer it. It would be pretty rude to keep him waiting."

"Right, right," Marinette answered his call and hoped her voice didn’t sound as squeaky as she thought it did.. "Hey."

"Hey."

There was a moment of awkward silence.

Marinette didn’t know what to do. She glanced at the small goddess.

Tikki rolled her eyes at their awkwardness as she gestured to the phone. Ask him why he called you, she mouthed to Marinette.

Marinette nodded. That was a smart idea. "So," Marinette cleared her throat. "Why did you call me?"

"Right, Uhm." Marinette heard him shuffling around his room. "You know how you've been asking me if I was inspired and stuff?"

Marinette's eyes grew wide and a huge smile took over her face as she started to nod before remembering that he couldn't see her. "Yep." she eagerly said, "Did you find any?"

"Yes!" Marinette could hear the excitement in his voice. "I was actually wondering if you wanted to design the outfits for my music video."

Marinette's eyes looked shocked. "Yes!" she jumped around in excitement before remembering she was still in a call with XY. "Why me though?"

XY’s voice sounded confused.. "What do you mean, why you? You're literally perfect for it. You're talented. Plus, everyone loves your designs."

Marinette’s cheeks resembled a tomato. She has never been more thankful for the fact that he couldn't see her right now.

"Thank you." Marinette managed to mumble. "That really means a lot."

"You're welcome." XY said. Marinette had a feeling he was smiling though. "I have to go and have my dad listen to the demo. But I'll text you later, okay?"

"Yep," Marinette whispered and gave Tikki a cookie. "Good luck. I know that whatever song you came up with is gonna sound good. No matter what he'll say."

Marinette heard a faint "Thanks" from the phone before the call ended.

Marinette screamed into her pillow and looked up and saw Tikki look at her with amusement. “I think I like him.”

"So, what do you think?" XY asked as his father finished listening to his song. "Is it bad? Do you think people will like it?"

Bob Roth grinned at his son. "This is a Masterpiece. Where did you find this?" He gestured to the video of XY singing the song, "Who did you steal this from?"

XY's proud smile immediately turned into a scowl. "What do you mean, who did I steal this from?" He yelled at his dad, his blue eyes glaring at him as he grabbed the demo from the table. "I made it. I came up with it myself." XY felt his eyes tearing up. "Something you would actually know if you thought of me as something more than a money-making machine."

How could he? XY thought as he climbed up the stairs. Is it that hard to believe that I could come up with something good?

XY slammed his door shut. "All I wanted was to prove to him that I wasn't a talentless son." XY put his hands on his face. "I just wanted to make him proud."

XY felt a buzz in his pocket and immediately knew that it was Marinette. After all, she’s the only one that ever texts him.

Marinette: how did it go?

Marinette: did he like it?

XY wiped away the tears that were starting to come out of his eyes. He couldn't help but smile. Marinette certainly had an effect on him.

XY: he called it a masterpiece

Marinette: yes! I knew he would like it.

XY: yeah

XY: but then he asked me who i stole it from

Marinette: THAT JERK

Marinette: WTF

Marinette: THAT's SO MESSED UP

Marinette: HOW COULD HE-

Marinette: DO YOU WANT ME TO BEAT HIM UP FOR YOU????

XY laughed at her text messages. He only started to text her and he already felt better.

XY: no, it's fine

XY: i actually yelled at him

Marinette: ...

Marinette: do you feel better?

XY: actually, yep.

XY: he's a really sucky father

Marinette: for some reason, a lot of the blondes i know have a toxic parent

Marinette: it's kinda sad

XY: maybe it's a paris thing

They texted back and forth, XY laughing at the memes Marinette sent.

XY: You're definitely a daughter of Athena

Marinette: ( ⚆ _ ⚆ )

Marinette: is that a percy jackson reference i see

XY: yep

XY: have u read the books?

Marinette: duh

Marinette: you haven't lived til you've read the books

Marinette: sadly, the movies sucked tho

XY scrunched his eyebrows up in confusion.

XY: What do you mean by which one?

Marinette: i have two

Marinette: one as my personal one and the other one for commissions and stuff

XY: ohhh

XY: smart

Marinette: i know ;)

Marinette: my personal one is @Mdupaincheng and the one for my commissions one if @MDCdesigns

XY switched his apps and searched up Marinette's personal instagram. He clicked on the first result that came up.

The profile picture was Marinette in a blue, silky dress that went just above her ankle. There was a slit on her left leg that showed her knee. It was nighttime and Marinette was practically glowing under the city lights. She was staring at something on her right side, with one hand running through her silky black hair which was down for once.

She looked hot.

After XY stopped admiring her profile picture, he finally noticed her follower count.

She had 200,000 followers. 200,000.

It wasn't as high as XY's follower count, that was still quite a lot.

Marinette: wdym?  

Marinette: which acc

XY: ur personal one

XY: u have over 200k followers

Marinette thought that she read his text wrong. There's no way that Marinette had that many followers. 200,000? There was no way.

Marinette: ur lying

XY: I'm not.

XY: check ur acc

It's been a while since Marinette has logged onto her personal account. The hate she got the last time she's been signed in was too much for her and when Alya told her to log out and just focus on her other account, @MDCdesigns, she couldn't bring herself to argue against her.

Marinette hasn't even thought of that account since that day. So when she logged in and saw that XY wasn't lying, she accidentally dropped her phone in shock.

Tikki looked at Marinette with a questioning look.  

Marinette ignored her kwami and texted the blue-eyes boy back.

Marinette: HOLY SHIT

Marinette: I HAVE 200k FOLLOWERS

Marinette: HOW TF DID THAT HAPPEN

XY: when was the last time you checked ur acc

Marinette: about 3 months ago

Marinette: the media thought i was adrien's gf and his fangirls came at me

Marinette: i got a ton of hate and a friend of mine told me to log out and just focus on my @MDCdesigns acc

Marinette: so i did

Marinette: i haven't thought abt that acc since then

XY: the fangirls were probably just jealous

XY: it's been months so they probably calmed down

XY: I'm looking through the comments rn and so far the latest hate comment you've got was about 2 weeks ago

XY: you've got a bit of a fanbase yk

Marinette: WHAT DO I DO

Marinette: DO I JUST CONTINUE NOT TO POST OR SHOULD I POST SOMETHING ON MY STORY ABT HOW THANKFUL I AM FOR 200k

Marinette: HOW COME NONE OF MY FRIENDS TOLD ME ABT THIS

XY: don't post anything rn

XY: post a picture of yourself and the caption it something that shows ur thankful for the number of followers u received

XY: OH

XY: a few hours before u post the picture, make sure u post on ur story abt how ur back from ur break on social media

XY: that way ppl will understand why u haven't been active

XY: it'll also have ppl prepared for ur post and they'll be waiting for u to post it

XY: that'll give u more engagement and stuff

Marinette: when should i post something?

XY: then they probably weren't expecting u to post anything so they weren't checking ur insta

XY: that way ppl wouldn't bother u during school this week

Marinette: yes, please!

Marinette: we can plan it in my room so that ppl won't overhear us

how long has it been since he first agreed to this arrangement?

tbh daichi doesn’t know either, it felt like it was years ago. every time you leave his front door, the sting he felt almost became nostalgic and slowly became numbing.

he can’t do this after all, his feelings are always all over the place with you. daichi was always torn between feeling happy and hurt when you guys meet up. so with a heavy heart, he confronted you, face void of emotion but his feelings were a whirlpool of mess.

“I can’t do this arrangement anymore. I have to focus on volleyball”

his voice was cold and left no room for argument. it didn’t surprise you tbh, I mean daichi is the complete opposite of you. he’s always hard-working, responsible, and just so so kind. and you were just you, a girl who’s scared of commitment and pushes people away.

naturally, you agreed to end it because who were you to stop him? it’s not like you guys were dating. It was just some harmless fun, right?...

as days pass, your mind always kept coming back to that moment. what if you just stopped him? but who were you to do that? feelings are complicated and soooo, you did the thing you were known for. toy with others to forget daichi

when you heard that karasuno was up against shiratorizawa, you couldn’t help but be proud. daichi worked hard for that, he really did it, huh...

you then went to the arena to watch the match though you swore you’re just watching because it was a first in 5 years that your school has a chance to go and play in the spring interhigh and karasuno is playing against the top school in your prefecture, you just have to watch its so not because daichi was there.

when you arrived, you saw daichi with another girl and saw that she was giving him something, a soft blush on her face. you rolled your eyes at that, wanting nothing more than to pull Daichi away--..

you slowly realize that you really like the dependable captain and seeing him take the charm from another girl was leaving a bitter taste in your mouth. you stomped towards them and grabbed daichi, surprising the two

“(y/n)? what are you doing here--! Hey, wait!”

you started to drag the male away, a scowl on your face. you two got inside the arena when daichi removed your grip on his wrist, turning you around to face him.

“what’s your problem? you just can’t pull me away like that--!”

grabbing his jersey, you planted a firm kiss on his lips when he was close enough. the kiss finished as quickly as it started but it surely surprised the heck out of daichi. his face became bright red, looking at you with bewilderment

“I.. I like you, you idiot! So don’t talk to other girls and don’t take charms from them!” You shouted, your heart was beating a little too fast

“Y-You mean that? You like me?”

you nodded, feeling shy. daichi looked at the sight in front of him, a warm feeling started to blossom inside his heart. you, the cold female who scares others off,  getting flustered in front of him and actually telling him about your feelings

he smiled and hugged you so tightly making you gasp.

“Don’t worry, you’re my good luck charm now.”

━ bokuto ♡

you comforting bokuto after he gets pouty has become a normal thing now and you don’t really know how to stop it

you noticed that he was always popping out of nowhere, pushing his way through in your life and always always hanging onto you.

this was really bad, you shouldn’t have let this happen... you should’ve pushed him away like you always did

the more he hang around you, the more you start to notice the little quirks he has and dare to say it was making your heart flutter... but your pride was getting in the way for you to really say it to Bokuto.

it was embarrassing for you. bokuto was constantly declaring his love for you, reassuring that his feelings would never change but you always shrug it off. Ignoring his feelings and rejecting him so bluntly.

it amazed you though, bokuto never took that to the heart which was the complete opposite of what you thought his reaction would be. you thought he’ll go emo mode and leave you but he actually stuck around more.

he would always hang out with you, getting brighter every single day. At this point you thought that bokuto should replace the sun if anything

bokuto, who was trying to make you see that there’s nothing scary about love if you two got each other, asked you to come to watch his matches for the interhigh tournament, saying that he’ll win all the games for you.

you declined the offer, feeling flustered at how easily he say such embarrassing things.

bokuto was in his emo mode for the rest of the day when you declined and ran off, leaving him behind. he tried texting and calling you but you didn’t answer.

in your dorm, you laid in your bed with your phone looking at Bokuto’s texts with a smile threatening to pop out but you didn’t really notice, too immersed in your thoughts while you stared at his cute texts

when the interhigh rolled in, bokuto was slightly pouty because you didn’t even text him back and you didn’t wanna come and watch his ‘super awesome spikes’

it was the first game and fukurodani was nervous because their captain and ace was still pouting in the corner, head not really in the game.

you quickly ran in the small arena beside the main one, getting lost on your way there. you saw bokuto frowning in the court and your eyes averted to the scoreboard, widening when you saw that fukurodani was lagging behind with 7 points.

you pursed your lips and shove down your pride, cupping your hands around your mouth and shouted, 

“bokuto! go and show me your ‘super awesome spikes’!”

you could feel all the eyes were on you, almost regretting it, but when you saw bokuto’s wide eyes and bright grin you knew that you did the right thing.

“(y/n)!! yosh!! i’m pumped up!”

you sighed at him with a smile on your lips, watching him catch up all the points. as he score, he points at you, grinning from ear to ear.

it was official, you really did fall for this dork and you’ll make him yours after all this. you swore.

━ ushijima ♡

why the hell is your childhood friend avoiding you? whenever you tried touching him, he always has these excuses. after your last session with him, ushijima just went up and go.

which was really weird because even though he was quiet and blank, he always made you his number one priority.

did he finally got over his feelings? were you really that easy to set aside? you don’t really blame ushijima. you knew he could definitely do better...

but it was really annoying, why can’t he even look at you? you miss your wakatoshi...

without ushijima by your side, you start to notice how big of a role he actually plays in your life. he was always there for you and always made time for you. even though, you can be moody and mean, ushijima was always there. never faltering, never getting tired.... but you took that for granted...

you realized it now.

tendou, that wildt boi, noticed the distance between you two. usually, you two were inseparable and every time he looked at you or ushijima, one was always beside the other.

the red-haired male noticed you were getting a little too quiet and so so closed off and being your friend he knew what to do. he went up to you and talked. he asked you if you were okay.

your feelings then started spilling because you were bottling it up for too long. your tears started running down your face, scaring and surprising tendou.

you told Tendou what happened and all your thoughts. tendou was one of your closest friends and he was just a chaotic precious boi.

tendou listened to all your worries and comforted you with food. after he finished talking to you, he was running to ushijima’s dorm as if it couldn’t wait any longer.

the tall male was done with you two moping around and misunderstanding your feelings for each other, so he took the matters into his own hands.

“wakatoshi-kun! why are you avoiding, (y/n)-chab?!”

satori burst into the ushijima’s dorm, yelling, and saw the said male on his bed and looking at his phone with a small frown.

ushijima furrowed his brows and told tendou his side

 “i don’t want to make her uncomfortable with my feelings and I know that she doesn’t like me like I like her. (y/n) will find someone better...”

satori just wants to slap you two wtf

“she was crying a while ago and told me she likes you, ya know”

ushijima scowled a bit at his words, “Don’t play with me like that and why would she cry”

satori being the little shit he is, told Nishijima something that would push him a bit to you.

“i’m telling the truth, she likes you. And if you don’t chase after her, who knows, maybe she really will find someone else.”

that did it, imagining you with another male when you could have been with him was not ideal to ushijima. he can’t let that happen.

the olive haired male stood up and run out of the door and towards to your dorm, determined and persistent until he knows the truth. do you really like him too?
