Getting a PHD literally anywhere else: Wow! Congratulations! What a great achievement! Amazing!
Getting a PHD in Gotham: Wow! Amazing! You're now on several Government, Civilian, and Bat watchlists.
So if any of the Wayne kids get a PHD, then the entirety of Gotham would be squinting at them suspiciously. They're rich, so resources, and most likely already insane with all the shit they pull.
What I'm saying is if Jason went and got himself a Doctorate in Literature, the whole city would anticipate the appearance of his villainsona called the Dead Poet(emphasis on the dead) or Bookkeeper or something else similarly nerdy and themed like that for sure.
I just know that it would turn into some Gotham inside joke with memes abound, and everytime Jason would, I don't know, give more funding to the neglected Arts Departments in Gotham University, or go to a school for read alongs to encourage kids to read, Gotham social media would go crazy and be like:
"The Dreaded Villain Dead Poet Reads Alice in Wonderland to Children! How Despicable!"
"Villain Dead Poet Lambasts Government on Banning Books! Leads Librarians to Riot!"
"Dead Poet Ramps up his Villainy by Establishing Educational Programmes in Crime Alley! Uplifting the Poor! What a Dastardly Villain!"
"Dead Poet Goes on Live Ranting About his Favourite Books! Favourite Author is Jane Austen! Is this the Feminist Agenda?"
And so on! It's a meme that refuses to go away. His siblings actively participate, and make the situation worse.
Dick held an online Gotham Villains and Anti-Heroes Poll and Dead Poet came out on top, over Red Hood. Jason is an actual Gotham crime boss, but his crowdfunded villainsona is more popular. No he's not salty about it at all.
Duke would create a montage of Dead Poet sightings.
Stephanie would make a Dead Poet meme compilation.
Tim would arrange Wayne Enterprises to donate to local libraries after allegedly being threatened by the heinous villain Dead Poet. (Jason did ask Tim to do that but not like that)
Barbara created an extremely popular Villain Watch account for Dead Poet.
Cass tweeted out Jason's favourite books as the villain Dead Poets reading list telling people to avoid them 'wink wonk', causing a massive uptick in the sale of those books ala Bigolas Dickolas.
Damian of all people tweeted out a pic of Jason playing with Alfred the cat accusing the evil villain Dead Poet of attempting to kidnap his cat.
And thats not to mention all the shenanigans they pull in their batsonas.
God bless Gotham and it's home grown, organic, not even remotely ethically sourced, free range chaos.

Conversation
Cass, 28 and now Batman, coming into the Belfry after a hectic night, but feeling Jazzed and Good: "Hey Dearest Wife, I found an orphan who was throwing rocks at corrupt cops, and I rescued him. His name is Zack and I adore him. I think I might have gotten our Robin?"
Zack, 10 years old, covered in bandages but otherwise fine, eating cookies: "Hello Doctor Wayne, or would you prefer Violet Knight? Mrs Batman said I should ask you, so I asked you."
Steph, 27 and the Violet Knight, going through every emotion on Earth seeing the baby she had to give away once more: *trying to maintain composure* "Doctor Wayne is fine for now, Zack."

Cass, and Jason have nightly Doctor Who watches together. They sit on in the couch slowly watching all the old doctors, to get ready for the new one. Jason started just for the historical episodes, and Alfred likes to watch as well. The whole family watches the specials together.

Earth 305
On this Earth the members of the Wayne family don't need capes to be heroes.
Dick Grayson is an officer of the GCPD. He was adopted by Bruce Wayne after his parents were murdered. When his parents died Jim Gordon was the officer on the case and was the one who talked to Dick. He waa the one that made Dick want to be an officer.
Barbara Gordon is the daughter of Jim Gordon Gotham's current commissioner. She become a office like her father and was Dick's partner until she got shot chasing a suspect. The injury may have left her unable to walk but she refused to stop helping those in need. She now works as a 911 dispatchers.
Jason Todd is a doctor at Gotham general. He use to be a kid living on the street until he decided to try and pickpocket Bruce Wayne and ended up getting adopted instead. Jason became a doctor to help people like his mother. He is feared by everyone at the hospital especially the interns and tents to butt heads with his coworkers. While he might not have the best beside manor he is one of the top Doctors in his field. He also tends to bend the rules to help his patients.
Stephanie Brown is Jason's annoying intern who is determined to be his best friend. Unlike Jason Stephanie has the best bed side manor in the hospital and gets along with most patients and coworkers. She also likes to sneak her patients cupcakes and candy.
Tim Drake is an crime sence investigator. His parents were murdered while he was six and their killer was never caught. Bruce took in the kid and tried to help him. When Tim was ten he started studying cold cases and crime sence photos. A few years later he be came a crime sence photographer. Eventually he started talking to the investigators, helping them with cases. After helping solve a really big case he became the youngest crime sence investigator.
Cassandra Cain is a dancer instructor for kids with disabilities. She was Dick's first case as a Officer in training. Her father had been training her to become an assassin. From the moment he saw her he knew he had to take her in. He finally got to bring his litter sister home after weeks of paper work and conceiving Bruce to take her in. At first she was very standoffish but she eventually warmed up to them and grew to lover her new family. She dosen't speak much but she has a special sign language she and her students use.
Damian Wayne is Bruce's biological son. Jason wants him to be a doctor while Dick wants him to be an officer. Bruce wants him to be happy. Poor Damian has no idea what he wants. He has a lot to live up to with all his older siblings being considered hero's of Gotham but for now can he just be a normal kid?
Duke Thomas is a transfer from bludhaven who came to take over Barbara's old job. He had no idea what he was getting into. He tries to be a good cop and play by the roles sadly his new partner seems determine to get them both in trouble.

I like characther who aren't afraid to be silly or weird or break societal expectations because for a long time I was afraid of being myself, of being an aroace autistic transguy who actually likes girly things and this characthers were what gave me the corage to say fuck all that and be myself.
And I still feel anxiety and I'm still afraid. But I'm more myself each day and less scared and it's great. Tumblr helps, because Tumblr is the biggest be yourself place ever.
And yes that is why I hate when adaptations make characthers like that more conformed, more "normal" or demonize the weird part of them (and not the literal murders in some cases)

If you could choose a Bat-family member to interact with a heroic non-Bat-family member, who would you pick?
The only rule is that there must have been little to no interaction between them in canon that you know of.
Here are my picks:
Steph - Mia Dearden (Speedy). They could relate to each other's backgrounds. Both would be looked down on by society in general because of their backgrounds. Similar snark, stubbornness, and general positivity despite their traumas.
Cass - Emiko Queen (Red Arrow). Both have assassins for mothers but chose to be heroes. And of course both are half-Asian. (I know Damian already knows Emiko, and both reasons also apply to him, but still.)
Babs - Jessica Cruz (Green Lantern). Although Babs doesn't have Jess' anxiety problem, she can relate to it due to her whole experience with the Joker, paralysis, and related PTSD (or whatever it specifically is for her). Besides, any of the Bats knows a thing or two about fighting through fear.
Duke - Kimiyo Hoshi (Doctor Light). They have some similar powers, so he might be able to learn from her.

Headcanon: Every one of the Bats sets their pain scales by extremes, rather than the assumed norm. They all understand that on a scale of 0-10, 0 means “no pain whatsoever,” anything between 0 and 1 means “discomfort that doesn’t yet qualify as pain,” and 10 is like “I went on patrol with a concussion, am currently caught in rubble, impaled in multiple places, the building is on fire, I can’t breathe, and Killer Croc is actively trying to rip my arm off, oh god, why am I still conscious?!” They’re also brutally honest; they might not admit that they’re hurt or might be dismissive about it conversationally, but when directly asked to report on their current condition they rarely ever down- or up-play their pain. It’s one thing to not want to be benched in the moment, it’s another entirely to be forced to think about the consequences of inadequate or inaccurate medical treatment.
They all came about this scale differently, though.  (Bruce & Damian learned it in training, to be completely honest with themselves about the limits of their abilities & how close they were to them. Dick’s parents needed to be able to know as quick as possible how badly he was hurt if he fell or twisted wrong during practice, and he learned early not to exaggerate. Jason & Steph set their benchmarks by the worst suffering they ever witnessed growing up, and often reassured themselves what they were going through wasn’t that bad. Tim’s autistic (they’re all autistic, but everyone else has a bonus excuse). Cassandra has had her body pushed past its breaking point, so all other pain is measured against that.)
This has also caused problems for all of them at some point. In particular, there has been at least one occasion where each of the kids went to the nurse’s office with a 3-5 level pain, and were completely brushed off because the school nurse assumed that: A) All children exaggerate, and B) That’s a very low number. Not realizing, of course, that a 5 means something like “I can still hold a coherent conversation, as long as I’m not moving or trying to do anything else; even lifting a glass of water or opening a pill bottle will seriously hamper my concentration, that’s how bad it hurts.”
Bruce holds a meeting to yell at the administration about it every time it happens, but as soon as they get a new nurse or he gets a new kid, it inevitably happens again.
