I tried to pick songs with potential for different stories - so give my playlists a listen to understand the "vibes" and also cuz I spent so so long creating them, I'm begging y'all 😭

- You must: Provide an x reader pairing! I mainly write for Miguel O'Hara, Joel Miller and Finnick Odair, but I'm more than happy to write other pairings - check tags for the fandoms I'll write.

- Other than that, be as specific or vague as you'd like. Give me a specific line from the song, a trope / prompt, etc etc. or don't! go crazy lmfao.

PAIRING: robby keene x fem!oc reader

SUMMARY: the beginning of robby keene and beckett jones, and the fall of robby keene and beckett jones.

NOTES: this is apart of a bigger story, but it is not yet written and only lives in my head and my notes app. i wrote this a long time ago and have made slight changes to it but oh how i love robby keene, so i’ve decided to post it. fuck it we ball! i hope someone likes it, mayhaps i’ll post more of these two. and yes i love repetition could you tell?

If there was one thing Beckett Jones knew for certain, it was that Robby Keene was the love of her life.

Everything had changed after she moved to California, the San Fernando Valley somehow being everything and nothing like she’s heard. While staying true to herself, who she was, she learned and grew and made friends she was proud to have—one of those being Robby Keene.

It was slow at first, things between them, but it was enough. Robby was troubled but he was also sweet, and funny, and from what she could tell—also willing to grow. It had made her respect him all the more. But as always, the niceties of life were short lived for the regular person, the cloud of peacefulness blown away by the storm of what one could say was fucking bullshit.

When the fight at the mall had happened, Beckett Jones knew she was more involved than she had been hoping to be. But, loyal to a fault, she stood by Demitri and protected him because he was her friend, and that was just what Beckett Jones did. But the fight at the school? That was a new chapter of crazy for her. She knew she had to stand by Sam, for she was her best friend and although flawed as all humans are, did not deserve to be attacked. So, she intervened and did her best to push Tory away, to get her to back off; to save it for another time because it was obvious that everyone involved in this would get hurt.

It was when Robby got himself involved that she knew, deep in her bones, that this wasn’t going to go her way. She was not going to be able to mediate this, it was growing too big and too angry to be settled—especially when Miguel showed up.

Miguel was one of her closest friends. Her first friend in California, her honorary brother, and someone who did not get along with her boyfriend. They were both great guys, but Beckett Jones couldn’t focus on either of them when they started fighting. It had haunted her for a bit, watching Miguel go over the railing, the sound his body made when it collided with the metal. Robby’s face as he watched from above, shock turning into fear in real time. Sam’s voice as she screamed at him, followed immediately by the boy fleeing the scene. She had wanted to go after him, the boy she knew couldn’t stop himself, but she was not oblivious to the fact that she was in trouble; she had participated in a blown out of proportion karate fight on the first day of school, and so her feet remained planted to the ground where she could keep Sam and Miguel in her sight.

To be clear, Beckett Jones did not regret her actions, even when awaiting the consequences in the aftermath of it all, but the outcome she was faced with was not one she had anticipated.

Robby was MIA, not answering anyone’s calls with his location turned off. The guilt and worry she felt had grown all consuming.

She was with Daniel LaRusso when he got the call from Robby’s mom. She had begged and pleaded, and in the end demanded, to come with him. Beckett Jones had more respect for her teacher than she had for most others in her life, but she would be damned if she was going to have Robby thinking she didn’t care about his whereabouts or well-being. She hadn’t known he had called the police, however; hadn’t known at the time that making it look like Robby turned himself in was the best thing for him. So she screamed.

Screamed at the officers, screamed at Mr. Larusso, screamed at Shannon, and screamed at the world. Beckett Jones knew that from the moment Robby Keene was born, he was handed the short end of the stick, and he only knew how to operate with the tools he was given and had scraped together trying to survive. She knew what had happened was terrible, and something needed to be done, but seeing the boy she loved hauled away in handcuffs with that look on his face was enough to break her heart in half.

If there was one thing Beckett Jones knew for certain, was that Robby Keene was the love of her life. Even after seeing all of that, he was.

She had apologized to Mr. LaRusso. Told him that her emotions had gotten the best of her, and she hadn’t done what he had taught her about finding balance in the midst of chaos. Had revealed to him that she held so much respect for him, more than she ever had for her own father, and that she hoped he could forgive her. He had. His arms were warm as they wrapped around her and his voice soft as he confessed that while he loved teaching his students, she had always reminded him of himself when he was younger and learning from Mr. Miyogi.

She had apologized to Shannon. Told her that she shouldn’t have thrown her mistakes in her face at a time that was terrible for everyone, and that she especially felt guilty knowing she had taken the steps to get better for herself and her son. Assured that all the progress she had made would help her as a mother, and that she shouldn’t have discredited her because of how angry and scared she felt in that moment. It was then that Shannon had asked if Beckett Jones loved her son, because if she didn’t then she would not have had that reaction. If she didn’t, then she would not have come all the way to look her in the face to offer the kind words and comforts.

Beckett Jones was so in love with Robby Keene and that was a fact she could no longer hold off. It was a part of her and her life and she had to stop trying to keep it at bay.

Beckett Jones was so in love with Robby Keene, was so sure that he was the love of her life, that it had taken her by complete surprise when he crushed her heart as it lay in the palm of his hand. Sat there, in the room where visitors could meet with the boys locked away in juvie, looking at her in a way she never thought she’d see with her own eyes. His expression told her that he was angry, he was scared, and he was alone. His body language was cold, blocked off, and not letting her in for a second. There was a cut on his face, an indicator that he’d already gotten into a fight.

This Robby, with his gaze sharp as a dagger and words as harsh as his fists, was afraid. And he didn’t want her to be afraid with him.

Beckett Jones told Robby Keene that everything that had happened did not mean he had to love her. Him being in there did not mean that he had to have no one in his corner. She loved him, and if he’d just let her then she’d be there in any way she possibly could.

Robby Keene, with Beckett Jones’ heart in the palm of his hand, closed it to a fist. Strike hard, strike first, no mercy.

Beckett Jones ended the day in Samantha LaRusso’s bed, tears streaming down her face as her friend let her vent. Robby Keene ended the day with his own heart sitting heavy in his chest, trying not to think of her as he bottled everything up.

𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲: It’s a few months into the new academic school year and so far, things are not going too well for you. Luckily, a certain blue masked turtle is there to comfort you.

Going down the stairs to step into the subway station always felt like going into another dimension to you. The air was always so musty compared to outside despite living downtown New York City, where the smell of car gas and garbage alway lingered. Today was no different. With your backpack slung over one of your shoulders, slightly weighing you down with the heavy textbooks inside, you made your way to the first platform in the station - the same station that you’ve used for the past two years. You’ve memorised every nook and crannies here; every tunnel and every platform number. You knew the best times to board the trains in the morning and in the evening to avoid heavy peak hours and so you could get the best seat.

Waiting behind the platform edge, you noticed your train approaching before coming to a stop with a screech. After allowing the passengers to leave the carriage, you made your way to the middle of the seat, away from the doors. The rackety sounds of the tracks melted into a blissful hum as you zone out with your headphones in. There wasn’t much of a view outside since you were underground so all you could see out the window was darkness. Your eyes wandered elsewhere around the train, trying to not hold eye contact with any of the other passengers. New Yorkers can be pretty hostile at times and the last thing you wanted was to come off as creepy after a long day of school. You noticed a group of girls from your maths class sitting in the corner of the train. You couldn’t catch what they were saying but the way they threw their heads back and laughed hysterically, you could tell they were probably the loudest in the carriage; they always were in class anyway.

The slight rocking motion of the train was enough to lul you to sleep on your seat. But your tiredness was only fleeting when you were struck with a strong, sweet scent of pumpkin spice steaming from one of the passenger’s coffee cup next to you. Yep. Autumn was here, so that meant pumpkin spice was going to be heavily consumed by people around, along with the traditional orange and brown themes plastered in every corner. You never understood the hype of it. And you were glad that your stop was next so you didn’t have to be stuck with the aroma any longer.

You were welcomed back to the cold air outside. There was a sudden gust of wind which made you involuntarily grip tighter into your jacket. The sea of leaves crunched beneath your feet as you walked to your apartment, keys in hand. Daylight was going to burn out faster now and before you knew it, it would be sundown by the time you went home. The season always left a bittersweet taste in your mouth. You didn’t hate it - you loved coming home to a warm house after shutting the cold outside. The recovery from the cold weather is significantly better than the extreme sticky heat during the summer. Sweating was never a pleasant experience.

Perhaps it was the new academic year that would start around this time that made you feel uneasy. That was probably what ruined the whole season for you. You never had anything to look forward to once school started - you didn’t have an active social life so you didn’t have any friends you were excited to see. A few small talks with your classmates here and there but that was probably it. You would just watch in the corner as your classmates got extremely happy seeing their friends again after the summer break. Sure, you had April O’Neil and Casey Jones, they were your only human friends that were your age so you could relate to them a lot. Unfortunately for you, they both attended a different school which was quite a distance from your area, so you barely got to see them.

It was quarter to five by the time you finally reached outside your building. It wasn’t going to get dark until a few hours later for now. You opened the front entrance and made your way upstairs, footsteps echoed with each step in the emptiness of the silent halls along with one of the neighbour’s dogs barking aggressively from inside their apartment. You never liked taking the cramped elevator, despite how heavy your legs were feeling and how quickly you wanted to step inside your heated home, you rather not be stuck in a metal box that smelt of piss for a few seconds. You made your way to your own apartment and immediately could tell that there was no one home when you couldn’t feel the central heating in the house. That, and your parents’ shoes that were always by the front door weren't there now which also gave away that you were home alone.

First thing you did was switch on the heating and waited for your apartment to warm up before going to your room and dumping your bag to the side with a thud. You took a seat behind your study desk. There were sticky notes littered on the walls, notes from last year's finals. You didn’t bother to take them down - It wasn’t like anyone was going to see them anyways. It wasn’t a favourable experience being the only presence in the house and it happened way too often for your liking. You didn’t have any issues with your parents, they were just busy and knew you could handle yourself at home. It really didn’t help with how things were in school. You just craved to have that close connection with someone, to feel listened to and not overlooked.

A few hours have passed and by now, it was pitch black outside but your curtains were not drawn yet. It’s not like you had anyone that could look through your window from the outside since you were higher up and no building was opposite. You paid no mind to it until you heard a soft knock on your window, slightly startling you from the deafening silence. A tall 6 feet muscular figure could be seen outside your window, hanging off the fire exit ladder. From your room lighting, you caught a glimpse of the familiar blue bandanna around his eyes.

“Leo?” You opened your window and gestured to him inside. “Don’t worry it’s safe,”

As he stepped into your room through the open window, you noticed he was carrying something bulky on his side. Once he was inside, you quickly closed the window again, shutting out the blistering cold. There was the smell of chlorine coming from him that you’ve grown used to time ago.

“What are you doing here? Is something up?” You didn’t question the thing he was carrying since you knew he was going to tell you anyway. Leo wasn’t the type to leave things unsaid.

“No, nothing serious. I just came to check on you. You didn’t reply to any of my messages and I was worried,” There was a sudden guilt that stirred your stomach. You never really messaged people and vice versa so your phone was pretty dry. Thus, everyday after school, you would switch your phone off and try to preoccupy yourself before making yourself dinner and getting ready for bed.

“I’m so sorry Leo, my phone was switched off,” you said, sincerity in your voice.

“Hey, it’s alright, as long as you’re safe,” he pulled out a flask that was inside his side pouch. It sloshed around with every movement so you could tell it was heavy and filled to the top. “I brought you some tea, maybe we could catch up on things?” He handed you the metal flask as he spoke, as expected it was a little heavy.

“Thank you. You’re too sweet. Let’s go to the kitchen, I’m home alone tonight so no one will see you,” You led him to the kitchen and took out two ceramic tea cups from the dishes cupboard. You poured the hot beverage in each cup and took a seat on the dining table. The tea sent a welcoming heat penetrating through your body and a trip through memory lane. It’s been a while since you’ve had some of Leo’s tea. Definitely better than a pumpkin spice.

“So, it’s been a minute since you’ve been in the lair. I guess you’re really busy, huh?” Leo asked, his eyes still glued to you over the rim of the cup as he took his first sip.

“I have, yes. School’s started now and I’m still getting used to the routine,” you haven’t gone to the lair in months. The last time you went was the first few weeks into the summer break.

“Have you spoken with April or Casey?”

“Not since summer”

“Oh well, they have been asking about you,”

“Wait, really?” You weren’t used to people really acknowledging you let alone even asking about you so of course hearing this was a surprise.

“We all have. Even Master Splinter. We miss you coming over, you know… I miss you,” the last part came off as a shy mutter and you noticed his gaze dropped.

“I miss all of you guys too,” you were speechless at this point. You didn’t think anyone would make you feel wanted like this, it was a little overwhelming. Leo reached out for your hand. His touch was cold but you still welcomed them.

“You know you’re always welcome in the lair, whenever you are available of course. I really want you to see you more often.” There was a fresh feel of warm integrity that seeped through you as he said that. From the way he looked at you, you knew it was genuine. This family was full of heroes who were responsible for the safety of the city while staying under the shadows and you had the luxury to be a part of it. They were family to you and they would do anything to keep you safe. There was no reason to feel alone now.

“Thank you Leo. It means a lot.” You sent him a warm smile and he sent one back. Everything was going to be okay, you had people that you could rely on. “So, how are your brothers then?”

It’s the loud ringing that wakes you with a sudden jolt. Heart pounding, you reach over toward the nightstand and grab ahold of your cellphone. It’s gotta be at least three in the morning. Who’s calling you at this hour? With the ‘Do Not Disturb’ setting programmed into your cell, the only way it’d ring like this is if someone called you three times within five minutes repeatedly. For emergencies only; in case anyone needed you desperately. Answering the call, you don’t look as you press the device to your ear without looking at it. Immediately the voice registers in your mind: it’s Daniel... Dan... on rare occasions Danny.

“I- I know this is the third time I’ve done this, so I don’t know if you’ll get this voicemail, but I have to do it. I can’t keep recording message over message again. I’ve... I’ve just gotta say it. I know that what happened between us wasn’t fair, it wasn’t right, and fuck- I’m an idiot. My work’s important. Like, save the world, important. You’ll be a hero, Dan. But I can’t hold it in anymore. I can’t stop thinking about you... I fucking love you. I fucking love you and I’ll- I’ll be damned if I don’t tell you that again. I’m sittin’ here in my car just crying like an idiot because I fucking miss you and your cuddles, the way you’d always care about everyone, and damn... you looked at me like I was some sort of Saint... and, I- I just...”

His voice is cut off as you register a sniffle through the receiver, then another, and you can tell two things from his voice: one, he’s been crying, and two... he’s drunk. Clearly, he thinks he’s leaving a voicemail, and while you wish you could let him ramble on and pretend it is... the sigh you release prevents it. Your heart aches, chest tight as you shift in bed, tongue wetting your dry lips in thoughts. The thing is, you’d dated Dan for nine months. That might not seem like a long time to some, but it felt like forever between the two of you. The first four had been blissful; lots of dates on the weekend, a genuine connection sparked between you and him. However, he’d been tasked with a new project as of recent, and the past five months had been nothing but silence. Time spent together was filled with fights and stress, and while you truly believe you’d fallen for him... Dan seemed all too consumed with his work.

Work is important, and you know what Dan is doing for the government is crucial... but the secrecy... the absence of explanation, there becomes a point when it’s just too much. Worse came to worse and eventually you couldn’t take it, you had to cut him off. His partners were open about the work-life balancing struggle, how they’d missed their kid’s birthdays, and some holidays. You’d accepted their reassurances for months. Eventually, you felt that time was passing you by. Almost half a year with barely any time spent together, any dates... nothing. Now, a week after your breakup, Dan’s calling you at who knows what time in the morning.

“Dan,” your voice comes out hoarse, a hint of grogginess clueing him in on your state.

“Did I wake you? I didn’t mean to- I- I’m sorry,” he interjects, another sniffle heard.

“You know why we...” the words die on your tongue. It hurts. The image of Dan sitting in his car outside some bar in Alexandria crying because of how much he misses you. “It’s not fair. You can’t call me at-” you pull back your phone to try and look at the screen, the bright light blinding you.

“-two fifty-six,” he answers for you.

“-two fifty-six in the morning,” you place it back against your ear and sigh, “and just tell me that you love me.” The now-familiar feeling of your heart welling up in your chest threatens to raise tears.

“But I do... I fucking love you, and letting you go was the stupidest thing I’ve ever done,” he argues, words not as slurred as earlier. Chewing on your lip, you mentally debate your options. Sleep curls around the edge of your mind and makes this more of a struggle.

“Even if that’s true,”

“-it is.”

“-if you’re serious... I want you to hang up, Dan. I need you to hang up and tell me this when you’re sober,” you respond, eyes shut as you hope and pray that this isn’t a fluke. For once, just once... let things go right. There’s shuffling on the other end of the line, the sound of fabric shifting, and a grumble in thought. A few moments pass in silence. The tension builds in your chest at the hope and prospect of either feeling relieved or having your heart crushed a second time. Dan finally hums in affirmation and there’s the familiar click of the line going dead. Releasing the breath you’d been holding, you let yourself breathe freely and clutch the phone to your chest.

There’s a chance he’ll feel differently in the morning, that possibly, he’ll regret even having this conversation with you (if he remembers it). Yet... you’re hopeful for some reason; hopeful that Dan’s changed his ways, he’s willing to try harder this time. Maybe there is a future for you both... just maybe.

3. “Stay with me.”

You were done. You were absolutely done. You literally just couldn’t take it anymore.

For the third time that week, Ben was making you feel like you were the crazy one. He would change the time of your date, he would keep you waiting when you would have a date planned, and would get upset when you got frustrated about it.

There was a double standard and you just couldn’t do it anymore. Your heart was tired and so was your body and you just wanted to rest.

The last time he did it, you knew you had made up your mind. You needed to do this for you, and finally stick up for yourself. You weren’t the crazy one for having reasonable expectations. Despite the numerous attempts to communicate with Ben, it just seemed like everything was going in one ear and out the other. The behavior wasn’t changing.

You decided to call him when he pushed back the time he was coming over yet again.

“What are you doing that’s so important?” You asked, trying not to sound frustrated in your voice.

“I’m trying to get some stuff done outside before I come over.”

“So it couldn’t have waited? Or been done earlier? If you’d told me earlier I wouldn’t be frustrated but here we are again Ben. We’re having the same conversation that we always have.”

You couldn’t help it. You weren’t going to hide anything this time.

“What do you mean?”

“You do this all the time and it gets so frustating. You never communicate with me and then get mad when I get upset or ask questions. I’m allowed to get upset and ask questions.”

“I never said that.”

“Well it’s how you’re making me feel Ben.”

There was a silence that washed over the phone. You could hear Ben breathing into the receiver, like he was thinking about what he was going to say next. You just hoped that it would be a good answer, whatever it would be that came out. It had to have been a solid minute before you thought he was going to speak.

“Stay with me.”

“What?”

“Please don’t leave. Stay with me.”

“Where would I go?”

“I don’t know, I just get scared. I know I make you frustrated and I’m sorry. You have every right to get frustrated. I’ll work on it I promise.”

“How do I know that?” And honestly, you had no way of knowing.

I try to stay as neutral to physical appearance as I possibly can so that everyone gets an equal chance at emerging themselves into the role, no matter the reader’s ethnicity, height, build, and so on.

Writing plus size!reader and writing about eating disorders and body immage issues is too triggering for me as I, myself, struggle with body dysmorphia on a daily basis.

TO THINK ABOUT WHEN REQUESTING:

Don’t be too vague with your request. For example, a request asking for a fic where “the reader is a character x’s sister”, or "the reader is shy” or”sassy”, is not enough for me to go on. I need a scenario, a plot, an action, an endgame, or a dialogue prompt.

Contrary to the previous point; don’t make requests with too much detail or too long of a timeline, either. I don’t have the energy nor time to write requests that are spread out over eternity and that would end up being as long as a novel.

When requesting prompts from my prompt-lists, ALWAYS include the number and name of the list, not just the quote. The lists you can request for are the following:

Don’t get pissy if you request something and I kindly tell you that I don’t write that kind of thing, whatever it may be. I’ve had to deal with this a lot lately and it’s really annoying. All writers have their own, individual preferences, and that’s their right.

Keep in mind all that is written above, and feel free to send several requests if you want to guarantee that you get at least one of them done - some things are easier to write than others and I always appreciate having requests to pick from depending on my mood and current motivation.

Do you have any recs from some of the less popular guys? Like Pat, Ronnie, Rick, Jude, Paul, and Dan? It seems like you don’t recommend much with them?

I have a few but, as you’ve noticed, I recommend them less because I read them less. There are a couple reasons. I like rough around the edges tough guys, alpha males, and big scary men lol. Jude, Paul, and Pat don’t fit the bill for me at all right off the bat based on softness and appearance. I’d run over them in real life lol so it’s hard for me to insert myself into a reader thing with them. Also, appearance wise, they appeal to me much less, so it’s also less appealing to read something where I picture them. I’m also old lol and the younger characters aren’t nearly as attractive to me as the older ones!

I haven’t watched Tracks yet so I don’t know much about Rick other than things I’ve read. Dan and Ronnie are attractive to me, but their personalities just don’t have the zest that I’m more drawn too. I have Dan on my lineup and I’ve written a couple things with him, but he’s just not as much fun for me to read and write as other guys. Also, most of the Dan writing is centered around him being tired and busy lol! Mine included! Which makes sense, but it’s less intriguing to me personally to read.

Finally, a lot of these characters are written as subby men, which is totally valid and fine and I’m not criticizing the characterization or the writing, but subby men are very much not my thing, so I rarely read writing with subby characterization.

I do have some recs though! I’ve read the following, but I’d encourage you to read much more by these writers! I honestly haven’t read anything with Jude or Paul because they just don’t appeal to me, but these writers have some lovely stuff with them!

this may seem like a lot of rules, and I hope it doesn't scare anyone away from requesting, that was not my point in writing this. and I'm not going to be upset if you’re confused or something - I just want to be treated kindly. :)

I've had many people demand a very specific story and be very reluctant to allowing me to have some freedom in the writing process. I do this as a hobby, and although it’s my favorite thing to do, I don’t want to feel controlled or obligated to do it a certain way.

I love receiving requests - they make my heart so happy! these guideline are to ensure some sort of filter for readers to know how/what to ask of me. hopefully it helps not only me, but you as well!

WHAT I WRITE

I only write in reader format (no given names, no specific appearance descriptions; I want every story to be adaptable to each individual, i.e. fitting the (Y/n), (h/c), (s/c), formula).

I write pretty much anything (fluff, angst, whump, gore/violence, battles), but draw the line with hardcore smut and explicit sexual abuse scenes.

I might be suggestive or hint at something more intimate, but it is never my goal to overly sexualize a scene unless specified otherwise in the a/n of the fic itself. (I’m very asexual, lol.)

I write one-shots, imagines, preferences, and series, depending on where I want the story to go and how long I want it to be. I hold the right to decide what length the story will be (since it is my time and effort going into it), but I do enjoy your input.

I only write the reader in gender neutral format so I can include everyone (although fem descriptors might sometimes slip through the cracks) unless otherwise stated.

I generally write AUs if it’s something simple like a coffeeshop, bookshop, or modern au (or something similar). I just don’t write crossover AUs.

DOs & DON’Ts (please)

be patient, please! writers have lives outside of their hobbies and passions that cannot be adjusted or changed. sometimes the fanfiction has to wait, despite any publication schedules we try to maintain. please do not demand updates - I update as often as I can.

if I turn your request down, please know it’s nothing personal against you or your idea, I just don’t want to write an entire story for a scenario I’m not interested in personally. I have to choose projects carefully to be sure I can manage my ADHD with it and see it through to the end.

asking for personality traits for the reader is fine (i.e. shy, outgoing, adventurous, reserved, snarky, etc.)

asking for a background for the character is fine (i.e. reader was abused in her childhood and is afraid to be a mother, the reader was in an accident that has given them PTSD, etc.)

asking for a mood, general storyline/scenario is okay!

do not request highly specific character details (i.e. the reader, named Astra, who has blue hair and wields a bow, golden eyes, and a gothic style, etc.)

do not request highly specific scenarios or details (shown in examples below). these are commission level additives that I’m not willing to write for.

please respect that as a writer I reserve the right to alter things and make them my own and follow through with the story as I see fit, not just copy your idea point-blank.

do not write spin-offs or additions to my stories; although they involve fictional characters that do not belong to me, the writing and storylines of each individual story do, and each story takes an incredible amount of work. the dialogue, story, and world-building I add to require as much time and effort as original works.

do not, under any circumstances, repost my work.

“a fic where the reader is a vigilante and helps the avengers in the battle of new york; steve rogers is really impressed by her combat skills and she is invited to be an avenger. she’s kind of flirty.”

“a fic where the reader, who has scars and bright makeup and a buzz cut, is really good in combat. she is with HYDRA and is ordered to assassinated steve rogers. i want a scene where she is reading his files, watching videos, and listening to broadcasts about him from the forties. she kind of falls in love with him, but is still going to obey her orders. she comes up with a plan of how to lure him, and is going to meet him in new york and pretend not to know him, and act as much like Peggy as she can to get him to be attached...etc.”

I SAW DAN IN THE TAGS AND CAME TO REQUEST, “If you don’t hug me right now, I think I’ll fall apart.” For my sweet peach 🤍

Warnings: Angst, angst, and more angst.

You hadn’t expected to see Dan here. It makes you laugh, really. You hadn’t expected to see Dan... in the house you both live in. Of course, most days it doesn’t really feel like Dan lives here anymore, but it’s still his house nonetheless. “Wha-” you catch yourself. Asking him ‘what are you doing here?’ would only further the wedge between the two of you. However, you didn’t have to say it... the look on his face tells you that. “I didn’t expect you home till later!” Shrugging off the olive green messenger bag onto the table, he begins to loosen his tie, one foot moving to press the heel of his other shoe down so he can slip them off. Remote in your hand, tv already muted since Dan walked in, you go ahead and turn it off.

“Yeah,” he responds, offering you a small smile before bending over to remove the shoes that wouldn’t slip off, but rather needed to be untied and taken off with how tight they are. “Just figured you were right. I should make an effort to come home earlier.”

“Did you want something to eat?” Given the time, you didn’t make anything, and hadn’t ordered anything for yourself either, having settled for a small meal earlier, a few leftovers put together. “I can make you a pizza, or... sandwich and soup?” Restaurants will no doubt be closed, and while there’s fast food, you’d rather make Dan something from the freezer or a simple meal.

Once you figure out what he wants, you leave him to get changed and work on his dinner. While his work his confidential, you know how stressful it’s been on him, how important it is not only to the Senate, but to the country as a whole. The odd hours have lead to more than one fight. It’s something you’re not proud of, but it’s the truth. In your eyes, making Dan a meal is the least you can do for him right now.

Sat across the table from him, you try not to watch him eat, instead focusing on the silly candy-matching game on your phone. The time you spend together has been less and less as of late, but you’re simply grateful that he’s here now. In an attempt to break the silence, Dan having been awfully quiet tonight, you ask. “How was your day?” As soon as it comes out of your mouth, you know it’s a mistake. A sigh tumbles past his lips, head hanging as he stares down at his sandwich.

“I... don’t know if I can do it anymore,” he states, brown eyes slowly raising to meet yours. That sentence stops your breath, time stopping for just a moment. Is this-? Is he-? “That’s what I keep thinking... day in and day out, yet I know that this is bigger than me. Someone has to do it.” The clarification lets you breathe, a deep exhale escaping you.

“Is it-” you begin to say, only to be met with a familiar look from him, “it’s classified, I know... but... is it really that important?” Voice quiet, you search his eyes for any sign, any clue as to why he’s torturing himself like this. It’s not like you haven’t noticed; the nightmares, the paranoia... it’s getting to him, whatever it is.

Dan gulps, cogs turning in his mind as he tries to think of a way to tell you without truly telling you. “Yes,” he finally responds, the addition of your name sounding so hopeless on his tongue, “it’s that important. I just... can’t unsee the images it places in my head. You- you know when you read a book? And how you can imagine all the kid’s finding that suburb: where every house is the same, where all the kids bounce their balls and skip their rope at the exact same time throughout the neighborhood? You can see it in your mind. That is what it’s like. It’s not A Wrinkle in Time, of course, but it’s... awful. Terrible. Horrifying. No mater how hard you try you can’t just unsee that... but someone has to do it, and if I don’t then it won’t get done. I know you understand that.”

The last statement isn’t a statement at all... but a reassurance. Luckily for him, it’s true. You do understand. Blinking a few times as you’d gotten wrapped up in his words, you lick your lips and come back to the present. “Dan,” the sympathy is evident in your voice, and you can tell he doesn’t want to talk about it anymore as he avoids your gaze, instead returning to his food. However, you can’t move on. It’s not normal, and it’s not okay. What he said... it isn’t something someone just says and moves on, and you’re not going to let him get away that easily. Your heart yearns to touch him, to console him, to kiss him and tell him everything will be okay. The two of you haven’t spent any quality time together in months, and now it’s suddenly pressing. “I-if you don’t hug me right now,” your voice is quiet, tear threatening to brim in your eyes, “I think I might fall apart.”

Springing from your chair, you round the table as he scoots his seat back, and plop yourself into his lap. Arms wrapping around his frame, Dan’s dropped his sandwich in favor of returning the embrace. With your face buried in the crook of his neck, you inhale deeply, having missed him terribly. This was definitely needed, you can tell by the way he squeezes you tight, everything threatening to fall apart at the seams.

Legacy- Part 11

Pairing: Carter! reader x ?????

Summary: Everyone knows Peggy Carter is a force to be reckoned with, who could have guessed her granddaughter would hold the same ferocity, if not more.This story follows y/n Carter’s life as she faces the obstacles life pitches her.

A/N: I am so sorry for not posting, this is the first chapter I have written myself so if its good let me know, if its bad let me know, if you have notes on how I can improve let me know. If anyone who is good at writing fight scenes is willing to help with future chapters I’d really appreciate it. A big thanks to @welldonebeca and @itsanerdlife for all your advice on how to fix the chapter

Warnings: A smidge of angst towards the end.

Phil paced back and forth, a deep scowl on his face. “What were you thinking going out there alone, you could have been killed.”

“I wasn’t alone I had Darcy with me, and I kicked some serious ass if I do say so myself.” Darcy and I gave each other a smirk.

“This isn’t a joke, you’re not a field agent you should have never gone out there.”

“I may not be a trained field agent but I’m just as good as any of them,” I reminded him in an irritated tone. “And there’s no one else I would trust to get back my hard work.”

He could tell he was starting to upset you so he began to calm down. “I get it, but you can’t be so irresponsible.”

“Alright, I’m sorry.”

Phil seemed to quickly change his tone once curiosity got the best of him. “So, how long did it take for the injuries to heal?”

You shrugged. “Within an hour I was pretty much fully healed, there doesn’t seem to be any scaring, no pain. It’s as if I was never shot. I’m not saying I want to give up my work in the lab but there’s something about being out in the field that’s just so… Exhilarating.”

“Alright, if you insist on doing your own fieldwork you need to be properly trained.”

“Phil, I grew up with Peggy Carter and Daniel Sousa, don’t you think they would have taught me how to fight?”

“I’m sure they did but things have changed quite a bit since their day.”

Darcy got up from her seat with a sneaky look on her face. “I don’t know about you y/n, but I think she should hear what Phil thinks about them.”

“Why, Darcy I do believe you’re right,” You looked up and called out to your AI. “Albert would you please call grandma Peggy.”

“Of course, Miss Carter.”

“Albert, Albert you don’t need to do that… Please.” You can hear the fear in his voice, oh this will definitely put him on Peggy’s bad side.

“I’m sorry sir but I’m only programmed to listen to Miss Carter.”

“Excuse me.” said Darcy with a hand to her chest in an offended tone.

“And occasionally Miss Dugan.”

“Hello dear.”

“Hey grandma,Phil and I were having a very interesting conversation about the fighting skills you and grandpa taught me.”

“Oh really, what did he say?”

You saw as he became increasingly nervous.

“I said you two did an amazing job, absolutely incredible,”

“That’s not what I heard.”

“Darcy’s right apparently he’s not confident in the fighting skills you and grandpa taught me and that a lot has changed since your day.”

“Is that so Phil?”

“Well, I, um. What I meant was-“

“I’ll be there soon dear.”

You saw the blood drain from his face.

“I’m dead, aren’t I.”

“Yup”

“Absolutely.”

“Most definitely sir.”

“Alright y/n let’s get started. If you want to be a field agent you have to learn how to fight like a field agent”

You didn’t have the heart to tell Phil that with the newfound speed and strength the serum gave you, you could kick his ass six ways from Sunday. So, you let him have his moment.

“So, there are a few things to remember when you’re going against an opponent,” you both began to circle the mat. “First is you should always be thinking 3 steps ahead. He took the first swing and you dodged right. “You never want them to get an upper hand on you.”

He smirked. Don’t get cocky on me now, you thought.

“Second is to always use your opponent’s size against them,” you let him knock you down to the ground. “Someone can be bigger and stronger than you but that won’t mean anything if you know what you’re doing.”

You gave Darcy a knowing smirk, you were about to finish him.

“Lastly,”

“Phil!” Peggy entered the room like a woman on a mission.

And with that distraction you gave your final blow, swept your foot under and knocked Phil on his ass.

“Never get distracted,” you reminded him “Sorry Phil but, as I said, I learned from the best.”

After seeing that, Peggy gave you a proud smile.

“Grandma, I wanted to let you know I decided to do a little more field work.” you saw her raise her brow as she had a hint of worry on her face.

“That’s great, but what brought this on?”

“Oh you know, just thought I could make myself useful and…”

Peggy gave Darcy a look and you knew then it was over.

“She single-handedly took out 12 hydra agents!”

“You what!” you saw as anger began to radiate from Peggy, she kept her fists tightly clutched.

“Darcy!”

You couldn’t believe she had just told her.

“Sorry, she used her Jedi like mind tricks on me!” You saw instant regret on her face.

You couldn’t hold it against her you know what your grandma was like.

“What on earth were you thinking? Why would you do this? How did you do this?”

You began to worry, no matter what idiotic things you’ve gotten into in the past you’ve never seen your grandma this mad at you. “Well you see…” you begin to fidget with your necklace.

She gave Phil the same look. Oh yeah, you were so dead.

“Phil.” she said in an assertive tone.

You saw the worry in his eyes, he didn’t want to break but he was going to. “She injected herself with the super serum so now she’s practically indestructible.”

“Phil!” you shouted at him, but you weren’t mad, you were more worried about what your grandma would say.

“Sorry but, Jedi mind tricks.” he had the same look of regret Darcy had a minute ago.

You saw her face change from anger to sadness and then disappointment, a look you never thought you’d see. “Grandma, please let me explain.” But before you could say anything else, she left.

“She hates me.”
