The Snakes Bite Part 2
Summary : Bucky tries to forget the breakup so he goes on a mission where finds some new shocking intel on his broken relationship
Warnings : Nothing rlly
A/N : fluff ending for a past blog
Part 1
Tumblr media
Bucky's heart still felt heartbroken knowing that the person who he thought he would get married cheated on him. Sam was supposed to come in a few minutes to get a coffee and Bucky was trying his best not to cry.
He heard the door open and go up quickly. "Hey Bucky you left the door open, I mean I know your confident with that Terminator arm but-" Sam stops his tracks when he sees Bucky's eyes are red. "What happend" Sam rushes to Bucky giving him a hug which caught Bucky off guard. "Y/N cheated- I wasn't good enough to keep Steve or her." Sam looks at Bucky with sympathy "Hey Buck how about we go on a mission to get out mind of this situation" Bucky nods silently. 'I actually came here to tell you that there is this Russian wannabe hydra mob group that has a 'secret weapon' so our job is to find out what it is and stop them".
Bucky hesitated, his mind still clouded by his belief that you had betrayed him. But the prospect of a new mission provided a temporary respite from his torment, and he agreed to accompany Sam.
Their mission took them deep into the heart of Moscow, where a notorious Russian mob was wreaking havoc on the city. Bucky's focus shifted to the task at hand as he and Sam navigated the treacherous underworld, determined to find out what was this secret weapon, trying his hardest not to think about you.
Upon infiltrating the base, Bucky and Sam discovered a hidden room—a makeshift digital lab where the mob orchestrated their malicious schemes. As they examined the equipment, Bucky's eyes widened in disbelief. Strewn across the room were monitors displaying the very photo that had shattered his relationship with you.
"Oh my gosh they were gonna brain wash you like Hydra but with different words so they-" Bucky starts shaking his head "No, no, no it was fake no and i actually believed it. They were just trying to break me apart and-" "Hey Buck" Sam puts his hand on Bucky's shoulder "you can explain this to Y/N and im sure she will understand, trust me but first we go to get out of here"
Bucky's breath caught in his throat as he realized the extent of the deception. The mob had not only manipulated the photo but had also orchestrated a meticulously planned setup to deceive him. The weight of his misplaced accusations hit him like a tidal wave, and the realization of his own mistakes filled him with regret.
With a mix of fury and determination, Bucky shared the newfound evidence with Sam. "Sam, they set me up. They photoshopped the photo and used it to tear us apart. Y/N was telling the truth all along." Bucky and Sam rush out of the base taking hard drive with all that information with them too, they got onto the plane and headed back to New York.
Arriving at the doorstep, Bucky hesitated before knocking, his emotions overwhelming him. When the door finally opened, revealing your tear-stained face, a mix of surprise and cautious hope flickered in their eyes.
Bucky's voice trembled as he spoke, his remorse palpable. "Y/N, please forgive me. I made a terrible mistake. The photo, the accusations—I believed them without question. But I've discovered the truth. The photo was fake, and I should have trusted you."
Your eyes widened in a mix of disbelief and vulnerability. "Yeah I know that it was fake, I'm just suprised you didn't believe me after three years together"
Bucky's heart sank, tears welling up in his eyes. He understood the gravity of his mistake and the lasting impact it had on their relationship. The weight of his remorse was overwhelming. Bucky falls down on his knees "Please-" you hear Bucky's voice crack "I thought I wasn't- I'm not good enough for you so it would make sense if you would cheat on me with a guy who doesn't have trauma and grumpy and-". You go down on your knees and start to cry while hugging Bucky "Baby you were always good enough if anything I thought that I wasn't good enough"
Bucky's eyes lit up with hope, a renewed sense of determination shining through. "Your too good for me baby. I'll do whatever it takes to earn back your trust. I'll be patient, understanding, and I'll show you every day how much you mean to me."
Y/N took a step forward, closing the distance between them. They reached out, gently cupping Bucky's face. As their lips met in a tender, heartfelt kiss, the weight of their past mistakes faded away. In the quiet solitude of the apartment, Bucky and Y/N found solace in each other's arms. On that day on they stopped hiding their emotions and were open on how they felt.

BTS Reaction | Thinks You’re Cheating On Him [Request]
Tumblr media
A/N: So these are…they’re a little long [BTS X GenderNeutral!Reader]
Seokjin:
You were standing in the hallway between Yoongi and Namjoon's studio waiting for one of them to come out so you could head to the dorms together.
"Look," You stared down at the floor hearing people whisper about you, you weren't stupid you knew what they were all talking about and accusing you of since Jin was the one also accusing you of it.
"You okay?" You glanced up at Yoongi who had a pained look on his face, he and the boys were the only ones to believe that you weren't cheating on Jin but he was far too stubborn to believe them which resulted in your breakup.
"Yeah, fine." You lied clearing your throat once you finished your sentence, you were the talk of the building after someone walk in on you and Yeonjun together in a studio. Nothing had happened and nothing would ever happen since he was like a little brother to you but rumours travelled faster than the truth and before you knew it you were ''sleeping'' with the younger boy.
"Come on, before Jin comes out of his studio for the first time in weeks," Yoongi mumbled taking out his keys and walking with you down the hallway, you hadn't seen Jin since he decided to move out of your shared apartment and call it quits on everything. He didn't even want to try and talk to you, to try and listen to your side of the story, he was adamant that you were cheating and wasn't going to have it any other way.
"Now they're going for Yoongi, what's the point?" The pounding in your chest got worse the longer you heard people talking about you under their breath - some were doing it in front of your face which you liked since they weren't hiding it but it still hurt to hear. Yoongi could see that it was bothering you as you got into the elevator, your eyes were downcast at the floor and he saw a tear roll down your cheek.
"The cheek of it, imagine sleeping with every band member." He slammed his hand on the doors to stop them from closing and you jumped back.
"Enough! Do you have any idea how fucking ridiculous you all sound?!" You flinched as he began racing his voice at them finally having enough of all of their pathetic quips and digs at you whenever they had the chance.
"Are you really that quick to jump onto a rumour? Y/n is one of the sweetest people I know - scratch that! That you all know and yet you were all quick to jump onto the bandwagon as soon as someone said they were cheating on Jin." Jin came out of one of the rooms upon hearing his name and you groaned wanting the elevator to drop down until you hit the bottom to get out of this situation.
"Don't you even start!" Yoongi said before Jin could even open his mouth to say something, Yoongi released his hands and pushed the ground floor button.
"You didn't have to-"
"Yes I did, he's as stubborn as a mule." You knew the boys had all fallen out after you and Jin split up, they'd tried to convince him that nothing was going on between you and Yeonjun but nothing was going to convince Jin of anything else. Not even you screaming at him to listen to you for two seconds just to let you tell your side of what happened. He didn't want to hear it so he wouldn't.
"Jin Hyung?" Jin looked up over his shoulder to see Yeonjun standing in the doorway of the lounge, he felt a rage bubble up inside of him as he pictured you and Yeonjun together. This was the first time that the younger boy had come by to see him since the rumours started and he wondered what he was going to do to defend his actions,
"What is it?" He would say he didn't mean to grumble at the younger boy but it would be a huge lie.
"I just wanted to come by and tell you that nothing happened between me and Y/n...They were helping me with something-"
"I don't want to hear excuses or lies anymore, I'm sick of it. You don't have to lie anymore," Yeonjun sighed he wasn't supposed to disrespect anyone let alone someone older than him but it was really starting to bug him the way Jin was treating everyone.
"Y/n was helping me with dating advice, dating under the contract like they used to with you." Jin's shoulders tensed and he turned to look at the boy properly,
"They were helping me with a secret date, there's nothing going on between me and Y/n." All of a sudden it was like a light bulb went off in Jin's head as he realised that you hadn't been sleeping with Yeonjun,
"I wanted to tell you because I know you're not talking to Y/n and they've been trying to tell you from the start." Jin began rushed to get up from the sofa in the lounge panicking as he went looking for his car keys and phone, he knew you were going to be at the dorms since he'd heard the boys talking about it all morning. He had to get there and see you as fast as he could.
"Thank you again Yoongi," Your voice came out as barely a whisper as you hunted around Jin's room for some of your clothes you'd left there,
"I'll go get another box. I had no idea you had so much stuff here," He chuckled looking around at the three full boxes already. You'd been together with Jin for years, it was no surprise that most of your clothing and other things were spotted around the dorms.
"Thanks," You called out as you heard him walk out into one of the other rooms.
You were on the floor in the wardrobe when you felt a presence behind you,
"Oh hey, can you get me the box with tops inside? I think I put-" You cut yourself off when you turned to see Jin standing there, he was panting and covered in sweat. Your first instinct was to reach out and check that he was okay but then you remembered you weren't together anymore.
"I'll be out of your way soon, I just need my stuff and I'll be gone forever-"
"No." His voice was cracking and you stared at him confused as to where all of this was coming from,
"No?" You questioned taking the shirt you'd folded up and putting it in one of the boxes.
"You can't, you're not leaving." You scoffed at him,
"I'm pretty sure I am, you moved out? You accused me of cheating, I have to leave."
"No. I was an idiot-"
"You are." You whispered shutting the box and going into his en-suite to look for anything you might have left in there but he continued talking to you, telling you about Yeonjun and how he'd made an awful mistake.
"Jin you're supposed to trust me when I tell you I didn't cheat on you and you didn't." You said to him as you walked back into the bedroom, Yoongi had heard you both talking and left empty boxes on the bed for you to use. He didn't want to be involved in any of the arguments.
"I know and I know you're never going to forgive me for it but please let me make it up to you...Give me another chance to try and make this right?" You looked up into his pleading eyes, it was hard to throw everything away when you'd been in love and together for so long.
"Nothing is going to be right again Jin you know that? Everything is going to be hard because you don't trust me-"
"Please." He begged, taking your hand into his and looking deep into your eyes as if he could somehow hypnotise you into giving him another chance.
"Fine...But you're staying at the dorms until we can figure something out." You whispered looking around at your boxes,
"Only if you leave everything here." You nodded and he wrapped his arms around you kissing the top of your head and promised he would make things right between you if it was the last thing he did.
Tumblr media
Yoongi:
"You know you look good in this one," You giggled turning the magazine towards Felix and showing him the photo. It was one of you and him huddled under an umbrella together and laughing about something he'd said - neither of you could remember what it was about.
"Shut up, I look like I've got a pig nose and look at my hair!" He groaned shoving the magazine back into your hands as you laughed harder than ever before at the phone.
"I'm saving it, it's going to be my lock screen forever and when you get married I will post it all over the wedding banners." You smirked taking a photo of the magazine but he lunged after you trying to take the phone from your hands when the door to your apartment opened.
"Hi, baby!" You yelled at Yoongi who had walked in to see his partner being mounted by someone else,
"Hi." He said slowly as he dropped the bag he was carrying onto the floor, he'd always be wary of your friendship with Felix it wasn't that he didn't trust you or him but there was just something that bugged him about it.
"You should see this photo of Felix." You giggled slipping out from under Felix and walking over to your boyfriend who took one glance at the photo before nodding and acting like he didn't care.
"I think I should go," Felix said slowly as he read the room, he could already tell it was going to be an intense conversation between you and Yoongi.
"I'll see you tomorrow!" You called out as he walked out of the apartment,
"Are you sleeping with him?!" You scoffed at the question before laughing at it,
"What are you talking about? Felix is like a brother," You'd explained this a million times before and you can't believe you were going to have to explain it all to him again.
"Really?! Do siblings normally crawl over one another like that? It wasn't what it looked like in this," He reached down into his bag and pulled out another magazine which had the same photographs splashed along the front page as the one you had except some of them were clearly photoshopped to make it look like you were closer than the others.
"Yoongi they're clearly fake-"
"Oh sure, conveniently. I was going to talk to you about it and then I see him practically dry humping you in our own living room." Your heart fell flat as he began talking to you like this as if you were smaller than him.
"Yoongi believe me when I tell you that there is nothing between me and Lee Felix." He shook his head, he was as stubborn as ever about this. He knew you were cheating and nothing you could say or do would change his mind,
"Do you really believe I would throw away 2 years of a relationship to be with Felix?"
"No." You relaxed a little thinking he'd thought it all over but he folded his arms across his chest,
"I believe you'd throw it away for another idol who will earn more money than me." That was the last straw for you, the tone of his voice told you all you needed to know and that was that he believed everything he was saying.
"Fine. You know what if that's how you feel than you keep this apartment that I pay for, you keep everything inside of it as well." You shoved past him not caring that you'd barged into him with your shoulder, you grabbed your phone and headed out of the door.
[X]
"You just let them leave?!" Namjoon questioned looking at Yoongi as he sat carefree on the sofa in front of him,
"So what? They're sneaking around behind my back-"
"Are you that dumb?!" Jimin turned to look at Yoongi as he quizzed him on this, they were all sitting in the dorms asking him what had happened since you were supposed to be there with Yoongi that night for a game night.
"Don't tell me they have you sucked in as well, it's clear. Look." He threw the magazine down in front of them and Jin was the first one to pick it up. He took one glance before rolling it up and began hitting Yoongi over the head with it.
"You're idiotic! Haven't you seen photoshop before?!" He threw the magazine into his lap and began pointing out all of the markets for what had been edited in the photo. The longer that Yoongi stared at them the more he began to realise that the boys were right, the photos had been messed with and that he should have listened to you anyway.
"You better go and make this up to Y/n," Taehyung said as he folded his arms over his chest clenching his fists as he did so, he couldn't believe how stupid he could have been. But Yoongi was stubborn,
"No, if they have nothing to hide why did Y/n run off to him? Explain that one to me." The boys all rolled their eyes at him trying to tell him why you'd left but he was having none of it, he only heard what he wanted to hear and that was you leaving to go be with Felix.
[X]
Cookies were Felix solution to everything so here you were pushing the trolley around a supermarket while he was on the hunt for the ingredients he needed. It had only been three days since you and Yoongi broke up but to you, it felt like a lifetime.
"You have to cheer up or Felix will never stop baking," Seungmin said as he came back over to the trolley, he put something in and you sighed.
"I know, I'm sorry it's just that if I could see Yoongi and ex...plain-" Your voice trailed off slowly as you looked up to see Yoongi watching you from the end of the aisle.
"I brought some salted caramel bites since I know how much you like them," Felix said as he came bounding over to you and Seungmin,
"Lix let's go and get something from the freezers." Seungmin pushed him away from you and you looked down into the trolley. Upon seeing you and Felix together like that it suddenly hit Yoongi that nothing was going on between you and never had. You were just friends with everybody you met, his mind kept going back to the dubbed photos.
"Y/n-"
"Save it Yoongi, if you've come to tell me that you suddenly believe me I really don't want to hear it," Your voice cracked as the tears began building up in your eyes. Days ago you would have jumped into his arms and thanked him for finally coming to his sense but now you were ticked off, you didn't want him to suddenly come by and start saying sorry for not trusting you. You wanted him to just trust you in the first place.
"I should have just believed you when you told me there was nothing going on between you both." You looked away from him as he came closer to you, trying to explain everything away like it was nothing but it wasn't nothing. This was a huge thing, not only had he accused you of cheating but he'd accused you of only being with him for his money.
"Trust is the only currency in relationships Yoongi and then you told me I was just after money-"
"I was a moron and I realise that now-"
"Yoongi it's too late to realise it now, what about days ago when I was begging you to believe me over some stupid photos you'd seen?"
"I know, I was wrong and I should have just listened to the one I love when I had the chance but I'm listening now and I believe you." He was standing right in front of you staring into your eyes as you tried not to cry in the middle of the supermarket.
"You have to come home, it's not the same without you there." You looked over your shoulder when you heard Felix saying something, he was nodding at you to do it.
"My lawyer is telling me to give you another chance." You whispered looking at Yoongi who was smiling at Felix, probably having a conversation through their looks at one another.
"You won't regret it," He promised you, Felix came back over and began inviting Yoongi to help you all bake cookies together while you tried to find a way to forgive Yoongi for what he had said.
Tumblr media
Hoseok:
Jin was helping you pack up a box while Jimin guarded the door to Hoseok's dorm room, you and Hoseok had broken up two weeks ago and it was the first chance you were getting to come by and clean out your stuff.
"Did he say anything to you?" You questioned Jin as he folded up your clothes and began putting them into the suitcase you'd brought along with you. Over the years of you dating Hoseok you'd practically moved into the dorms with them and most of your wardrobe was there along with a lot of your other belongings.
"None of us are really talking to him right now," He admitted but that only made you feel worse about everything that was going on, you didn't want them all to fall out with him over this. It wasn't their problem to deal with in the first place,
"You can't ignore him, he's your band member." Jin rolled his eyes at how nice you were being about everything but you'd been nice about the entire thing. From the moment Hoseok started accusing you of sleeping around and coming to conclusions that you were cheating you'd been calm about it. Trying to tell him that none of it was true and give him the facts but he'd never believe you because of how set in his way he was about all of this.
"We can ignore him all the while he's being stupid about all of this." You had to admit that Hoseok was being a huge jerk about all of it if he'd just listen to any of you talking about who it was in the photos none of this would have happened.
"Y/n?" You looked over at Jimin who was glancing back and forth from the door to you and you knew what he was trying to say,
"Stall him, we're almost done," Jin mumbled folding up the rest of your clothes while you packed a bunch of other stuff into your boxes.
"I'll see you later, thanks again." You whispered to Jimin as he walked you and Jin out towards the front door, Hoseok was sitting on the sofa shaking his head at how all of them were quick to forgive you for what you had done to him. The front door shut and he grumbled something at Jimin,
"Sorry I don't speak stupid." Jimin quipped back at him turning to leave the room when Hoseok repeated himself,
"I find it funny how you're all quick to forgive them for cheating on me!" Jimin had enough of it, that's all they'd heard since the breakup. How Hoseok was the one being done badly and you were the bad guy when you'd done nothing to him or to anyone for that matter you were the innocent one in all of this.
"Jimin leave it," Yoongi warned but he wasn't going to let Hoseok just sit there and bad mouth you when they'd all tried to tell him before, this time Hoseok was going to sit there and listen even if he didn't want to.
"Look! I've had enough of it, Y/n has done nothing to you-"
"You saw the photos!"
"Yes! I did! Of Y/n and their cousin." Hoseok rolled his eyes at the excuse that they were all buying into, it was conveniently your cousin who you had never mentioned before and never showed Hoseok before.
"They sure looked comfortable together-"
"You're unbelievable Hoseok! Do you have any idea how much Y/n loves you or are you actually that dim-witted?!" The boy was finally snapping after everything he'd heard Hoseok saying about you,
"If they loved me then why did they cheat?!" Jimin wanted to pick up the closest thing to him and throw it in Hoseok's direction for being this dense, he just wanted him to hear himself speaking for two minutes.
"Do you really think that Y/n would cheat on you and then post images of themselves with the guy they cheated on you with all over their social media!?" Jimin was red in the face from anger and physically shaking as he tried to get Hobi to see his point, Hoseok just shook his head staying with the fact that you'd cheated on him.
 [X]
A month had passed and Hoseok was still convinced you had been cheating on him,
"Do you think you'd go back to him if he ever came out of his bubble?" You cousin asked as you sat in a cafe together, today was his last day in Korea with you before he flew home to be with his family again. It was only supposed to be a sort visit with you at the start but he wounded up staying for a month to help you get over the breakup with Hoseok - which would never happen. You were hopelessly in love with him no matter what he said or did to you to make you hate him a little.
"If he realised what he said was wrong? Yeah, I would," You whispered putting down the cup of hot chocolate you were drinking and looking out of the cafe window. You'd wished he'd come to his senses sooner but it wasn't likely to happen if it hadn't happened by now.
"Once Hoseok is set on something though it's hard to change his mind about it." You told your cousin as you turned back to look at him. A bell above the door rang to signal that someone else was coming in and out of habit you looked up to see Taehyung, Jungkook and Hoseok all walking into the cafe, your eyes went down to the table not wanting to drawer attention but your cousin knew Hoseok.
"Excuse me." You heard him speak before you could reach out and stop him, Hoseok looked at your cousin and then to you scoffing and shaking his head,
"Still not trying to hide it-"
"The fact that they're my cousin? I see no reason why they should hide that I'm their cousin." Hoseok shook his head as you had yet another person in on the lie with you,
"Leave it, he's never going to believe me so it doesn't matter. I just thought he had more faith in me than that." You put the money down onto the table and got up to leave when your cousin began ranting very loudly about how you'd given up your whole life to move to Korea to be with Hoseok.
"Why would they then cheat on you? Huh? Think about it." He tapped on his chest and walked out of the cafe with you pushing him out of the door, Taehyung was smirking at Jungkook proud that someone else had finally said something to him.
"You going after them?" He questioned raising his eyebrow at Hoseok who was out of the door the second the words left Taehyung's mouth.
"Y/n! Wait!" You slowed down your walk to a stop and stared up at Hoseok as he bound over to you,
"What is it? He has a flight soon and I promised my auntie I'd see him off-"
"I want to say I'm sorry." Your mouth was agape as he spoke to you, your cousin smirked from behind you knowing he should have just gone to him before the month was up and everything could have been avoided.
"I don't have excuses for what I did, I was a bumbling idiot and I should have just listened to what you had to say in the first place I just thought that...I thought you deserved someone better and went for someone else." Your eyes softened as you realised he was feeling insecure about being with you, he used to be like that all of the time. Claiming that you could do so much better when there was no one else in the world you would rather have than him,
"Hobi you know that there is no one else in the universe I love more than you." You whispered to him stepped closer to him and making him look at you,
"I'm sorry." His voice broke as he finally began crying for the first time since accusing you of cheating on him. You wrapped your arms around him in a tight hug and promised that once your cousin was on his flight home you would talk to him about everything and work on it all.
Tumblr media
Namjoon:
"Are you at the studio all day?" You whined as you walked towards the front door of your shared apartment that you owned with Namjoon - your boyfriend of four years. He kissed your lips as he walked behind you,
"Yeah, are you out with your friend?" You nodded and looked over the road, he was parked up waiting for you to go out and meet him. You were spending the entire day shopping together for Namjoon's birthday and you needed a guys opinion on everything...Not just a guy but someone that didn't know Namjoon and would help you without going back to Namjoon and telling him everything you were going to get him.
"You've been spending a lot of time together," He acknowledged as he locked up the door to your house. You hummed turning to look at Namjoon and smiling,
"He's my best friend, of course, we spend a lot of time together." Namjoon was probably reading too much into it. He'd seen photos of you together and you seemed close, closer than any best friends he'd seen before and it bugged him a little.
"Make sure he drives safe," He grumbled looking over at your friend who was watching you both closely, Namjoon had never been this jealous before and it was a feeling he never wanted to experience again. As you went to walk away he took your hand in his and brought you back into his chest, kissing you passionately. You yelped before wrapping your arms around his neck and drawing your body closer to his while he kissed you like this.
"W-What was that for?" You stuttered as he pulled away from you biting down on his bottom lip as he checked you out,
"Just showing my love for you, have fun." You felt a warm feeling spread through your neck as you got a little shy at the sudden public display of affection he had for you. He was normally the type to keep everything inside of the house.
"Look at you getting some!" Your best friend yelled as you reached his car, you got inside and greeted him with a hug before he began pulling out and driving down the road.
[X]
"I saw you!" Namjoon yelled later that night, you'd come home from your day with your best friend and he began yelling at you like an insane person. Calling out that you'd been sleeping around your best friend all day,
"Saw me where?!" You yelled back at him finally having enough of him accusing you of something that you hadn't done and would never dream of doing.
"You were coming out of that motel together! I have photos." You looked down at the coffee table as he dropped photographs of you and your best friend laughing and hugging as you came from a motel room,
"How did you get them? Did you have someone follow me?!" You yelled finally realising that the photos were taken with a wide lens and zoomed in on - you could tell by how some of the pixels were grainy in comparison to others.
"I wanted to make sure there was nothing going on and I guess now I know the truth." You shook your head at how unbelievable he was acting,
"You could have just asked me if there was something going on which by the way, there isn't." You were calmer now wanting him to listen to you but he wasn't going to. He had photos of you entering and leaving a motel room with someone else that wasn't him, he wasn't going to listen to anything except the sounds of you leaving him.
"You can't actually believe I would cheat on you would you?" You were hoping he would say he didn't believe it but he did, he was convinced you'd been sleeping around with someone else and you shook your head at him and threw your hands in the air in defeat,
"It doesn't matter what I say does it?" He shook his head and you took your phone trying to call one of the guys to come and get you instead of taking a taxi.
[X]
Jungkook had been letting you crash at his place while you were on an apartment hunt,
"Has he said anything to you guys about it?" You asked one morning - you were sitting cross-legged on the kitchen counter with a slice of toast in one hand and your phone in the other.
"I'm not talking to him but Jimin said he's still convinced about it all," You sighed looking at your phone, no new apartment listings within your budget. You could only afford the last place because you and Namjoon were splitting the bills straight down the middle.
"He'll realise today,"
"Today?" Jungkook questioned jumping up onto the kitchen side next to you. The rest of the boys had heard what happened and why you were at the motel, to begin with, but Namjoon hadn't, he wouldn't listen. Whenever someone brought it up into conversation he'd blank it out and pretend he couldn't hear anyone speaking.
"The motel were going to send us a cute welcome package, supposed to get there today."
"You didn't cancel it?" You shook your head,
"It's a way of proving to him I wasn't cheating and never would." You knew it was probably petty but you didn't care, you wanted Namjoon to know the truth and it was going to be the only way you could do it without talking to him.
[X]
"Package for Mr Kim Namjoon?" Namjoon signed for the box and carried it through to the living room, it was from the motel you'd been seen coming out of and he frowned.
"Happy Birthday Namjoon and welcome Y/n, inside we've inclosed everything you will need for your romantic getaway?" He read the card aloud before opening the box and finding matching PJ's, dressing gowns and a bunch of other small romantic gifts inside. The realisation began to hit him as he realised you hadn't been cheating on him at all, you'd been trying to plan him something new for his birthday.
"Hello?" Your voice was like warm honey, it was so sweet and nice to hear after so long and he was almost lost in it.
"Namjoon?" You called out and he cleared his throat trying to think of where to start but you started for him,
"You got the box? I'm assuming you now believe me when I said I didn't cheat you?" He could hear you giggling down the other side of the phone so he knew you weren't all that mad at him for being the worst boyfriend in the world.
"I'm sorry-"
"I know, which is why you're going to order pizza for when I come in. Jungkook has me living off rabbit food here." He chuckled hearing you be so calm about everything, he was going to do everything in his power to make up everything he'd said about you and your best friend.
"Then you're driving us to the motel because I don't want to." He could hear the pout on your face without seeing you and he promised he would.
"I'll get Kook to drop me off, order my favourite!" You said before hanging up the phone, you both knew it would take a while for you to forgive him but you could kind of see his side of the argument...You weren't going to let him know that though.
Tumblr media
Jimin:
Jimin watched as you and Taehyung began walking towards the dorm exit together,
"Where are you going?" You looked over at Jimin not knowing he was home yet, you thought he was supposed to be at the studio all day,
"I thought you had work." Your voice trembled as you nervously looked between Taehyung and Jimin. Taehyung had thought he was as well which was why you'd come to the dorms before going to your appointment together.
"I finished early, where are you going?" He repeated himself and you looked to Taehyung for help on this one. Everything was supposed to be a secret from everybody the only reason that Taehyung knew was that you were far too nervous to go alone to your appointment today.
"Y/n has somewhere to be," He told Jimin as he eyed him up wondering why Jimin was standing with his arms folded across his chest and watching you both.
"You've been spending a lot of time together." He mentioned looking between you both and back at Taehyung who was nodding your head. You and Taehyung had been close since you grew up together and you thought that Jimin understood that after all Taehyung was the one that introduced you and Jimin together four years ago and insisted on you both going out on a date. You looked at Taehyung nervously, if you didn't leave right now you were going to be late and it was going to take forever to get another appointment booked in.
"I have to go," You told him and he nodded at you,
"We have to go. Talk about it when we get back Jimin-"
"You're cheating on me with him aren't you?" Your whole world froze as he came out with that. It had come out of nowhere for you and Taehyung who were used to hanging around a lot but Jimin had this feeling for the last couple of weeks. He'd watched you talking in secret, whispering to one another and constantly laughing behind his back.
"At least fucking tell me that you're sleeping with one of my best friends," You shook your head trying to search for the words to say something but your head was empty, it was the baby fog happening to you. It was making things almost impossible for you to comprehend.
"You can't even come up with an excuse, unbelievable." Jimin had already made up his mind that that was what was happening behind his back. Taehyung tried to explain it to him without giving away what you were really doing but he wasn't listening,
"Go on. Go and fuck her! See if I care, she doesn't matter to me." You couldn't stand to hear any more of it, you stormed out of the door and in the direction of Taehyung's car.
[X]
Taehyung came back later that night alone with the ultrasound screening in his wallet, you told him to do whatever he wanted with it. If he wanted to show Jimin it was up to him but you weren't going to go back there and be accused of something like that. You and Jimin were supposed to be in love and in love there was supposed to be trust and if he just assumed you would do something like that to him you didn't want to talk to him.
"Got bored of fucking her?" Taehyung scoffed at Jimin's crude ways, he was acting as though this didn't bother him at all but Taehyung knew Jimin too well for this to just be nothing to him. This had to be coming from a place of hurt.
"We're not sleeping together Jimin, are you really that dense?" He questioned looking from his wallet to Jimin trying to think quickly about showing him the baby scan. He knew you would tell him eventually but if Taehyung told him now that everything could still be fixed and you could both work it out together. Be the big happy family that he knew both of you wanted to be,
"Whatever Taehyung, you could at least have the decency to tell me the truth. I thought we were friends-"
"We are," He took out the small black and white image and shoved it into his chest,
"Which is why I'm giving you this so you go and make it up to her. She wanted it to be a surprise." He grumbled looking at the photo one last time before leaving Jimin to stand there and stare at it. His hands were shaking as he ran his small fingers over the black and white blob that was on the photograph.
 [X]
You opened the front door expecting your pizza to be there but you were shocked to see a tearful Jimin holding up one of the copies of the baby scan. You'd gotten seven copies one for each member to have since they were all going to be like uncles to the little one anyway.
"He told you?" You questioned moving away from the door so he could come into the apartment,
"He said it was supposed to be a surprise?" You nodded your head trying not to act happy in front of him, you were over the moon about being pregnant but having him accuse you of sleeping around wasn't something you were going to be quick to forgive him for.
"I was going to have the scan and then find cute places to leave hints in for you all but then-"
"I acted like a complete and utter pig and accused you of cheating?" He offered and you nodded laughing softly,
"That was the nicer way of saying it." He smiled softly glad that you had some kind of humour about it, you could see his side of the argument but you also hated him for not being able to believe you.
"I should have just accepted when you said there was nothing between you," You nodded along waiting for him to continue on with what he was saying and he began ranting about how sorry he was. About how it would never happen again, he was just feeling bad about you spending so much time with someone else instead of him.
"We're going to have a son or a daughter you're going to have to trust me-"
"I do, I trust you in every sense of the word. I trust you with everything." You looked at him knowing he was serious about this but it was going to take a lot more than one apology for you to get over something like this.
"No more accusing me of cheating," You warned him and he nodded locking your pinkies together before touching thumbs with you.
"I promise."
Tumblr media
Taehyung:
You'd been whispering down the phone all week and it was starting to get on Taehyung's nerves, you were constantly smiling down at your phone but when he would ask you about it you would tell him it was nothing and then go back to laughing at whatever it was.
"Seriously what is it?" He asked that morning as you smiled at your phone, if he didn't know any better he would have thought you were cheating on him. You were always sneaking around, hiding your phone from him whenever he looked and you'd changed your passcode from his birthday to something else. He just wanted to know what you were doing, he trusted you with everything in his life but it was starting to feel like he shouldn't anymore,
"Nothing. I have to go out. I'll make dinner tonight." You said as you put your phone into your back pocket and walked towards the front door, he watched you closely as you began rushing around looking for your keys.
"What's the rush? I thought maybe we could spend the day together." You shook your head at him, you would have loved to drop everything and spend time with him but you had to go out and do something first.
"I'll be back soon, just wait for me okay?" He nodded his head at you and watched as you rushed out of the door without even a kiss goodbye. He swallowed the lump in his throat as he grabbed his own keys and decided that he was going to come after you, just to see what you were doing and who you were sneaking off to meet all of the time.
You pulled up in a car park and Taehyung stayed back so he could watch from afar,
"Hi!" You yelled throwing your arms around a guy he'd never seen before, he tensed up as he watched you pull back from the hug and start engaging in some kind of conversation with him before getting into the car with the man. Taehyung sighed following behind you both wanting to know what was happening, it all could be just some huge misunderstanding but once he watched you and the guy he'd never met before going into a house he headed up to pack up his things and leave so you wouldn't have the joys of being able to pretend to love him anymore.
 [X]
"You're going to love your new home angel," You giggled as you walked the golden labrador up the steps to your front door. The door was locked which was strange since you'd told Taehyung to stay home and wait for you,
"Daddy probably just went to see his friends." You cooed unlocking the door and letting your new puppy begin to sniff around her new home. You glanced at the coat rack to see that it was almost empty, you could have sworn there were more clothes on it that morning before you left. That was when you noticed that most of Taehyung shoes were missing, you walked further into the house and noticed that almost everything that belonged to him was gone, no traces of him being there except for old photographs.
"Taehyung, w-where did you go? I have a surprise for you but you're not here." You tried not to think of the worst as you left a voicemail for him but it was hard not to think of the worst when all of his things were gone and you were left in a home without him there.
 [X]
"Are you actually insane?!" Jimin yelled looking at Taehyung, you'd done nothing but call all of them all night when he didn't show back up or call you.
"They've been cheating on me, I watched them get into a guy with a car and go back to his place." Jimin stared blankly at Taehyung as he tried to get to grips with what he'd just said.
"Did you really just accuse Y/n of cheating on you? The one person in the entire world that loves you more than your mum does?" He shrugged his shoulders and Jimin groaned at him trying to make him see that you would never do anything to hurt him. He knew where you'd been, you'd been sneaking off for weeks to go and see Angel from the moment she was born. You wanted to surprise Taehyung with your own dog who was already getting along well with Yeontan since you'd taken him to see Angel a couple of times whenever you could get him away from Taehyung for long enough.
"That'll be Y/n, open the door," Jimin said to Jungkook not wanting to look at Taehyung as he realised what kind of mistake he'd made. The front door opened and the golden fur was the first thing that Taehyung saw then he saw you.
"We'll give you a minute," Jimin said as he took Jungkook by the ear and dragged him away from the dog, you looked at Taehyung while you stroked angel by your side.
"This is what you've been doing?" He questioned as Angel began walking towards him before pouncing and jumping onto his lap,
"I've been sneaking off to see her whenever I could, I thought it would be a nice surprise but you ended up surprising me more." You stated referring to the empty house you'd come home to and he looked down at the floor. It wasn't one of the proudest moments in his life,
"I should have just asked you when you got home-"
"You shouldn't have followed me either," You told him and he sighed knowing you were right. You were right about everything and Taehyung knew that,
"Do you think you can forgive me?" You looked at Angel who was licking his face,
"I think we can." You whispered knowing that he did what he did because he assumed the worst and he was going to have to learn to trust you if the relationship was going to last.
"We've been together for years Tae, I would never throw that away." You informed him and he nodded at you while he tried to fight the small puppy from his lap so he could go over and give you a hug.
Tumblr media
Jungkook:
"How am I supposed to know what you're doing when you're there!?" Jungkook yelled at you from the other side of the bedroom. He'd started yet another fight about you wanting to hang out with your guy friends, he didn't want you to go though since you would be alone with them. He was busy that day and couldn't come with you so you just told him that you would go alone it was no big deal but to him it was. He couldn't see why you had to just hang out with them alone,
"They're my friends Jungkook, we're just going to hang out and play some video games, maybe a card game or two." You told him as you looked around for your car keys, you were going to go to their place even if he didn't like it.
"Friends? Y/n the last time I checked one of them wanted to fuck you!" Here you went again with the same excuse he used last time on you, it was always the same one with him.
"You don't trust me?" You quipped at him and he froze in place,
"It's not you I don't trust and you know it." You rolled your eyes at him as he began the usual speech about how all of them had some kind of crush on you when they didn't. You'd grown up with them and they were like brothers to you, just like the BTS boys were like brothers to you. It was no big deal for you to hang out with them either but for some reason, it was bad when it was just your friends.
"But I'm the one that's there, trust me that nothing will happen." You told him as you got your keys and headed for the door,
"If you walk out on me right now that means you're sleeping with all of them." You stared at him,
"Jungkook! I can barely keep up with your stamina, what makes you think I can keep with seven other guys?" You deadpanned but he wasn't finding you funny at all, he stared at you waiting for you to make a decision.
"It doesn't matter what I say does it? You're still going to think I'm cheating on you aren't you?" Your voice fell flat, you wanted to be serious now. You wanted him to realise what he was saying and accusing you of. His silence was all you needed to confirm what you already knew, he thought you were cheating on him.
"If there's no trust then why are we together?" You asked him,
"I don't know! I don't know why we're together!" He yelled and you felt your heartbreak as he screamed that at you,
"Just go and fuck all of them," He grumbled at you, you walked out of the door making sure to slam it behind you as you walked over to your car.
 [X]
"He's one of the biggest idiots I've ever met," Changbin grumbled handing you a spoon to eat ice cream with him, you'd gone straight to their dorm room after walking out on your fight with Jungkook.
"He's just insecure that's all," Even now you were trying to defend what he's said to you as you left the apartment. You knew where it was coming from, he'd had a past with someone else who'd cheated on him and you knew he just didn't want to get hurt in the same way again.
"Namjoon said none of them are speaking to him," You told Changbin as you stared into the tub of ice cream, he wrapped his arm protectively around you and you sighed.
"You can't feel bad for him, he accused you of-"
"I know but with his past, I don't blame him." They hated how nice you were being about this. All of them and BTS had tried to talk some sense into Jungkook when you first showed up on their doorstep but he was as stubborn as ever and would never admit that he was wrong about this.
"I'm going to call him and give him a piece of my mind." You stared at the back of Jeongin's head wondering what piece of his mind he was going to give him when the doorbell rang.
"What do you want?" Felix was trying to make his voice deep and you looked over to see Jungkook standing at the door looking glum,
"I want to talk to Y/n."
"They don't want to talk to you-"
"Felix...I can talk for myself," You whispered as you got up and walked away from the dorms with Jungkook, they all stared at you until you got out of the dorm building and into the street.
"Look I didn't mean what I said-"
"I know-"
"I was judging it all on past experiences and I shouldn't have, I trust you I really do but I just-"
"Jungkook I know." You told him and he relaxed a little turning to look at you,
"I assumed you'd need time to calm down and come to your sense, you know I would never hurt like that." He hated how understanding you were being about all of this. He wanted you to get mad at him and start yelling at him for being so mean to you when you were just trying to hang out with your friends.
"Can we go home?" You asked linking your hands together, you were tired from the lack of sleep you'd been getting, you could never sleep without him by your side and he could never sleep without you either.
"Do you think we should go and tell them-"
"No, they'll eat you alive like a lion, I'll text them." You groaned pushing him towards his car and taking out your phone to let them know you would be going home and thanking them for everything they'd done for you over the last couple of days you were there with them.

stolen dances | chap. IV
Tumblr media
summary: sometimes supporting the person you love is the hardest challenge you’ll ever face.
pairing: jeon jungkook x fem!reader
rating: m
warning: none
additional tags: f2l, ceo!jungkook, bestfriend!jungkook, shrink!yoongi, my best friend’s wedding meets 27 dresses (if the boss/secretary couple had happened), angst-y
words: 1900
links: prologue, chap. I, chap. II, chap. III, chap. IV, chap. V, chap. VI
note: lower case letters intended
chapter summary: you are this close to throwing your lava cake in jungkook’s face
“you did not just make another powerpoint”, yoongi groans but still lets you set up your device. the first slide shows up in no time and you can feel him roll his eyes behind your back.
“really, ____?”, your shrink asks as the headline ‘why you should forgive me’ lights up the screen.
“just… bear we me”, you mutter, still clicking on your presenter to let go of your nerves. yoongi has been different the last few days – ever since you came back from your mini-vacation. you get it; it’s not cool to stand up your friend who is also your therapist. still, you’d think he would be a bit more understanding… being your therapist.
“this is my way to ensure you forgive me and, - and even see this as progress!”, you start with faked enthusiasm. yoongi writes something down while shifting his glasses high up his nose.
“the invitation of jeon was non-refusable because first i needed a break as well and second there were other humans with us, creating a human shield between me and jeon”, you show him the graphic with cutouts of taehyung, seokjin and jimin, dancing around the screen.
yoongi continues to write on his ipad, after taking a few seconds to stare in disbelief at your powerpoint skills.
“my only condition – apart from the billionaires financing the whole trip – was that we would fly back on sunday; making me not late for my appointment with you.” the next slide contains a picture of you with yoongi eating funnel cake last spring, your smiles coated with grease. you are really going all in with the sentiment and you see his faint smile as he stars at the slide, not writing anything down.
“then i was so objectively selfless that i pointed out jeon’s wrongdoings. i made him fly back to his fiancée, which left the rest of us stranded on an island… alone… without food and water”, you exclaim. maybe the photoshopped picture of you and the three remaining gentlemen on the cover of ‘lord of the flies’ wasn’t necessary. but yoongi is chuckling, so… yeah.
“to conclude: i did follow your advice to have a) some fun and b) talk to my best friend like he is … just my best friend.”
the last slide just reads ‘you should be proud’.
there is a beat of silence before the man on the couch claps rather sarcastically. well, applause is applause, you think but decide against a bow.
“sit down, ______”, yoongi orders and points to the chair you’ve become rather familiar with. still, the cushion feels itchy with the stare your therapist is gifting you.
“______”, he begins, “how did you feel when you stood up for his fiancée?”
“i-i …it was… like swallowing something sour”, you offer and yoongi just nods reassuringly for you to continue.
“their relationship; it’s so, so different from what i imagined… our relationship to be.”
“you used the past tense there”, yoongi points out. “are you no longer imagining yourself in a romantic relationship with jungkook?”
you have to think about his question. when was the last time you actively thought about the both of you – together, together?
“dunno”, you answer and avert your stare. you know it’s not enough for him. so, you try to scrap in your brain for a logical explanation.
“there is still… hm… jungkook with me… he is still so lovely… and lovable. but him handling his partner? that’s a big red flag. still, with me… it could be different, you know?”
yoongi doesn’t judge often, but this time his question does sound meaner than usual. “so, him leaving you stranded when you made him promise to take you back in time… is him being lovely?”
“i.. i made him go back”; you argue, not ready to face the truth. your therapist meets you with a raised eyebrow.
“i give you that… but he could have easily taken you home with him. why not even tell you about his decision? why did he just… leave you behind?”
his question cuts through you and you feel weirdly defensive. “why do i have to explain jungkook’s motives? this is my therapy – not his.”
you are not a mind reader. yoongi nods in agreement.
“correct. but, _______, you are allowed to question his actions. you are allowed to be mad at him. you are allowed to have negative emotions, to demand an apology”, he reassures you of your value.
“leaving without a word? that’s not okay. not when you are his girlfriend nor his best friend. it’s just… wrong.”
you spent all your week trying to apologies to yoongi and texting with taehyung and jimin, both still laughing at your rushed road trip back to seoul. but confronting jungkook? he did leave a note…
“don’t come at me with a piece of paper as an excuse”, yoongi warns you because he does know your thoughts better than most.
“______”, he softens his voice – never a good sign, “we are not here to change jungkook. we are here to make your platonic relationship with him healthier – by changing your actions.”
“so… i should be mad at jungkook?”, you whisper.
“are you mad at jungkook?”, yoongi counters.
**
“i’m not mad – i’m disappointed”, you say to ms yang, jungkook’s secretary. the wine glass between your fingertips is nearly empty and you don’t even remember taking a sip.
“understandably”, she offers and drowns the rest of her wine. the both of you are sitting on jungkook’s terrace. it’s a crisp night, but the stars are bright and the woolen blanket thick on your lap.
your best friend is inside, catering to some executives form his firm, while you gossip with his secretary far off from all the business talk.
“like… who leaves their friend on an island?”, you exclaim. the wine travelled to your head faster than you would have liked.
“mr jeon”, ms yang answers.
“exactly!”, you whisper-shout and feel the presence of jungkook’s butler behind you.
“you need a refill, miss?”, he asks politely, and you offer a faint smile in thanks.
“i’m good”, you decline to which he nods. “some desert, perhaps?”, the butler asks instead. ms yang laughs at your wide eyes. “please!”
“coming right up.”
before you can continue to bash jungkook, who hasn’t talked to you more than two sentences since the start of this business dinner, your best friend joins you outside.
“ah, so here is the real party”, jungkook greets you, his hands full with cake. it looks like a chocolate lava cake and you can already feel your wine-tinted mouth begin to water.
your friend looks way too handsome in his suit, the black stripes a soft contrast to the deep grey of the fabric. he tried to comb his hair back, but there are still a few lawless strands flailing across his head.
his smile is earnest as he sits down the desert in front of you. then jungkook falls onto the last seat at the table and looks at ms yang.
“you can go anytime, ms yang. i hadn’t noticed the time, my apologies”, he says and cuts into his cake. the chocolate flies across his plate and the smell reaches your nose in milliseconds. you do love chocolate.
“it would seem rude to leave before your guests, mr jeon”, the woman answers and looks between the both of you with a poised stare. after jungkook swallowed the first bite of chocolate, he continues to bid her farewell.
“now, they’ve left. a shuttle is driving you home – it’s already waiting. i imagine your daughter misses you too.”
his words are close to being rude; his secretary looks down and smiles politely in return.
“of course, mr jeon”, she replies and stands up, smoothing the wrinkles on her cocktail dress.
“the butler packed you up some desert to share with your family.” jungkook doesn’t get up but makes the effort to bow sitting down. you on the other hand stand up and hug his secretary goodbye.
“i’ll see you on wednesday?”, ms yang asks and pats your back. you nod and sit back down as she leaves the porch.
“did you have to be so rude?”, you confront your best friend who is already eying your cake hungrily. he hasn’t even finished his! to mark your territory, you take your plate and… lick across the lava cake. your tongue flattens against the dark brown surface and you hum in pleasure at the taste.
jungkook watches your act with fascination, but after seeing your eyes on him, he starts to chuckle while shaking his head.
“you really think your saliva would stop me from stealing your food?”
“did you have to be so rude to ms yang?”, you repeat instead of answering his rhetoric question. jungkook rolls his eyes and finishes off his desert before answering you.
“i’m not rude. she has chocolate in her bag to feed a whole army and i paid for her transportation. she’ll be home safe and sound.”
you scoff at him. “so, she gets an uber while you leave me stranded on an island?”
that’s not the levelheadedness you’d wished for after your session with yoongi. still, it’s sadistically pleasing to see your best friend flinch at the comment.
“i left a note”, jungkook defends himself, without weight behind his words.
“don’t come at me with a piece of paper as an excuse”, you say – only you knowing that you’re secretly quoting your shrink in front of your crush. jungkook’s eyes look bigger than the moon behind him as he helplessly watches you lashing out.
there is a suffocating silence between you both, but you are not backing down. your friend looks as uncomfortable as you feel. then he stares at your hands and explains himself.
“there… there is – i’m not used to include others in my plans, _____.”, he sounds sad by his confession. “there have been my bandmates, but… our agency smoothed every bad decision out, before the other member even heard about it.” jungkook still looks at your fingers with an intensity that makes you conscious of your own hands. you move them out of his view.
“even in the company… i just – it’s my company… i don’t want to reproduce that sneaker? it’s out the next day”, he continues, “she’s the first time… i have to make an effort.”
it shouldn’t hurt to hear his words, but they ice your heart with inhumane force.
“and i’m not worth the effort?”, you question him, for the first time really, really mad at jeon jungkook. his eyes widen even more at your cold voice.
“no, no, no, no, _______, no”, he chants your name like a prayer and you just watch him fumble over his actions. “you are ______, you are my best friend… you don’t need me making an effort… you are… effortless.”
__
hey guys! thank you so much for reading! i really enjoy writing this pairing and i absolutely adore sprinkling in my knowledge from therapy. and i love yoongi a whole lot… i hope you guys do to! i’d love to hear your thoughts! next update: reader is really, really mad at her best friend and he is… adorably dumb about it. love, dana

Okay this might be a lil weird but what about an ateez reaction to making frog bread together during quarentined :3
this is so cute, anon!! my friend made frog bread a couple weeks ago and it looked so good lmao
Also! None of the pictures of frog bread are mine, Google aided me on this one.
Hongjoong:
Tumblr media
He is gonna bake the cutest frog ever
He’s gonna knead the dough like the kitty he is
And then he’s gonna ask you to help him shape the lil friend
Also, there’s no stopping him, he’s naming this frog
This frog is going to be his illegitimate child okay
You’re gonna coparent like pros
I mean, until you eat the poor thing, of course
Joong is definitely gonna make sure to do all the stuff thats even kind of dangerous
Like you need food scissors to open a new bag of ingredients? Joongie will do it
Need to put the dough in the preheated oven? Joongie will do it
And while you guys are waiting for the froggie friend to bake, you will start making dinner to go along with the bread
Once everything is finished, and the oven timer goes off, Joongie is so
excited to see the finished product
You open the oven and see your perfect lil frog baby (shout out to Frog Baby at my uni lmao)
I mean he’s a lil wonky but thats okay you still love him
You make sure to take plenty of pictures with your creation before you end up dipping his eyes in your pasta sauce O.O
Seonghwa:
Tumblr media
Seonghwa’s frog is going to be perfect okay
Like he will take this project very seriously
He will sculpt this frog with the utmost patience and gentleness
And he won’t let you touch it
Like if you even try to help him he will shun you
Full kick you out of the kitchen without question
And if you try to distract him, he will send you the absolute dirtiest glare
Do not mess with Mama Hwa while he is making frog bread
But if you really want to be in the kitchen with him, he will allow you to start making your actual dinner
Will allow one (1) back-hug when you pass by him
And once dinner is ready, he will be so proud of his froggie
He will make you close your eyes and make it a big reveal
Has the cutest, proudest smile on his face
And he will tell you to open your eyes and be like “isn’t my son perfect”
“Don’t you mean our son?”
“No, you did nothing”
“YOU WOULDNT LET ME”
“BECAUSE HE IS MY MASTERPIECE”
But forreal his froggie is so perfect, unmatched honestly
Yunho:
Tumblr media
Yunho is going to make this a competition okay
Who can make the best frog bread
So you both make lil biscuit sized froggie friends
While they are baking, you are both having a very intense debate about whose will be the better froggie
Who will have the most attractive frog
Long story short, the oven timer beeps and you both whip your heads towards the sound
Like its so dramatic
You race towards the oven and fling it open
Cue dramatic heavenly music
Now cue a doom and gloom sound effect bc your froggie has flattened completely
Yunho is hysterical and laughing bc your frog has stuck itself to the pan and its entire underside is burned
And Yunho’s little biscuit is a little bit burned, but mostly perfect
You’re pouting at him bc your poor little froggie didn’t work out the way you had wanted
Then he feels bad and he carves a smile into his lil froggie’s face
Promises to share his froggie biscuit with you so that you won’t feel too sad that yours got destroyed
Yeosang:
Tumblr media
Yeosang is turning this into the messiest arts and crafts project you’ve ever done in your life
Full on food fighting with you
Super cheesy and cute
Tossing flour all over the place
You both have so much flower in your hair that it just looks like bad dandruff at this point
You both take plenty of pictures of you laughing together and being covered in flour
It’s actually super cute until you remember that you’ll have to clean up when you’re all finished
Somehow the frog eventually gets in the oven
You pass the time waiting for the froggie to finish by cleaning up the kitchen
Once that timer beeps, both of you look at each other
You’re kind of nervous to see how he turned out, seeing that you guys had messed around the entire time
But surprisingly, the froggie comes out looking decent!
You’re both super excited to eat him though
Yeosang’s immediately like “should we eat his legs first?” Lmao
San:
Tumblr media
San’s frog bread making experience is pretty much the most romantic baking date you’ll ever have
He’s singing softly the entire time
Laughing quietly whenever either of you cracks a joke
Will totally dance with you while you wait for the bread to finish baking
Like its so sweet and romantic the whole time
But then the oven dings
And you’re both so excited to see the finished product
The oven opens… and the romance is gone
Because both of you are literally rolling on the ground laughing so hard
Like its a recognizable attempt
Its just that, instead of frog bread, it looks like “a frog that got smushed bread”
He’s just really really flat
Almost fills the entire pan with his flatness
Tears are running down both of your faces as you cackle like Dr. Frankenstein over your creation
“FLAT BOIIIIII”
But he tasted good and I guess thats all that really matters
Mingi:
Tumblr media
Okay so when you start out it actually looks pretty good right
Super cute, kind of cartoony frog child
You and Mingi are having a blast while making it too
Playing music super loud and dancing around like maniacs
Literally screaming lyrics in each others faces
Just having a good time together and you’re both super happy
You kind of cool off a little and do some dishes while you’re waiting for your froggie to finish baking
When the oven timer finally dings you both rush over to see the finished product
“WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM”
“I DONT KNOW HE LOOKS LIKE THE CRAB FROM MOANA”
“AHHHH” “AHHHHH”
But then you’re laughing bc I mean look at him lmao
“We tried, I guess”
And you really did try, so you just giggled at it
forgive me froggie for we have sinned
Then you put your frog abomination on a pretty plate
And waited for him to cool so you could try a piece of the bread
Wooyoung:
Tumblr media
Okay first of all
Wooyoungie is going to want to make a dozen mini froggies for all of his friends okay
He will make a dozen of these lil guys just to make sure he has enough to share
He will have you help him and you try to make them all as identical as possible
And after a painstaking hour of molding dough into perfect little froggie shapes: its time for the oven
While you’re waiting for the bread to bake, you do the dishes and he thanks you sincerely for helping him make these little treats
He’s really proud and excited about giving these to the members because he knows how much time and effort you had both spent to make these perfect
Once the oven timer dings, you guys pull the little froggie friends out and place them on a baking stand to cool down
He takes pictures of each one and will serve them up specifically for each member
Baker Wooyoung is just the softest baby okay
Jongho:
Tumblr media
This boy is going to make an entire froggie family and you cannot stop him
Will end up being cheesy and be like “thats you and thats me”
“And these are our babies”
And he’s so excited
He will name the little baby ones
And he’s discussing with you super seriously
“What about this name? No? We can choose another one”
Will literally look up baby names for inspiration
Like oh its serious
Once they’re finished baking
He’s going to plate them up so that they look like a family and they’re all cuddled up together
And he will take a picture of them
Then photoshop the babies names on them
And he will be like “which of the parent frogs do you want to be?”
And once you pick the one you want to be, he will photoshop your names in the picture too
Then he sends a picture to the ateez group chat and of course the guys are like ewwwwnoooo until their girlfriends say that they want to do it too lmao

Emma woke up on the morning of her 28th birthday and she felt like she had a hangover even though she hadn't been drinking. In fact, it was worse than a hangover because she had woken up with 2 lives inside of her head.
But it wasn’t like in New York, because that life was based on a lie and false memories, she actually had lived 2 lives. One as a daughter, a sister, a friend, and another as. Well, as an orphan.
Henry, and Killian. The two missing mystery men. No wonder she was dreaming of those two the most, as she had no clue where they were. The two most important men in her life and she was clueless as to where to begin looking for them. Hopefully, her parents would have the answers.
Her house. With the white picket fence, with a view of the water.
The two people missing from it were the ones who chose it.
How could this have happened? Things were going so well, the three of them were finally starting to be a family when the Queen ripped that away from them. She searches in her jewellery box that she’s looked through every day, hoping the one thing she wants is in there. Necklaces and bracelets and rings she’s received from her parents and friends over the years. It’s not there she thinks to herself.
But then, at the bottom of the pile, it's there. Liam’s ring, the one Killian gave her back in Camelot all those years ago. She takes the silver ring on the chain and feels a sense of relief as she puts it over her head. She was going to find them, and bring them home.
The drive to her parents’ house, despite it only being less than a 5-minute drive, felt like a lifetime. She kept going over in her head(s) what was happening right now, she was meant to be celebrating her birthday with her parents and younger brother, the way they do every year, but now she was finding it strange that she had a family to do this. She was an orphan who found her family at 28, but she wasn’t really an orphan now. Or was she?
She knocks on the door to her parents house, expecting a huge Happy Birthday banner and for them to sing, but instead her father has the sorrowful look in his eyes when he opens the door. There’s no ‘Happy Birthday’ because he obviously knew what was coming.
“I remember,” is all she says as she just starts to cry.
The old Emma, the orphan would never cry, especially in front of her parents, but the girl who grew up with a family cried over the stupidest things
“Come in, we'll talk all about it.” David says putting his arm around her leading her inside.
Wiping her tears away she asks, “what happened?”
David and Snow look at one another trying to figure out the best way to explain the situation. “The Evil Queen, she said turning you into a toddler was the best way to get to each of us.” They begin to explain, going through all the details of how they eventually captured the Queen using squid Ink and how Regina has sacrificed herself to save everyone.
“Wh-what about Henry and Killian?” Emma asks when they’ve finished.
Snow takes a deep breath before saying, “we don’t know. When it happened they ran off to another realm we think, we haven’t heard from them since it happened.”
Emma looks like she could be sick, or faint, or both.
Seeing her face David quickly adds, “they’re safe though don’t worry. We believe Gold had a hand in wherever they escaped to, we can go ask him.”
“No-“ she cuts them off, “I’ll go. Just me. Henry’s my son and I have no idea where he is, I haven’t been his mother for 25 years.”
“Emma, you didn’t have a choice. He forgives you for putting him up for adoption, of course he’ll forgive you for not being there when you were under a curse.” Snow tells her, caught off guard by her sudden attitude-the Emma she raised would never do something this important alone. She was going to have to get used to the fact that the Emma she didn’t raise was seeping back in, the one who liked to work alone. The Orphan.
“Before you go beat up Gold to find out where Henry is,” David says, giving her a large rectangular box, “I thought you might want this.”
Emma takes the box, and slowly opens it to reveal her red leather jacket. Her armour. She hasn’t needed her armour growing up with a family, but now…
She took off her armour when she realised she wanted a future with Killian. But now, she didn’t know if there was a future with him.
_______
She decides to walk to Golds shop. Feeling slightly betrayed by everyone she needs the fresh air. That is until she bumps into her best friend Alex.
“Happy Birthday Emma!” She screams and hugs as she sees her. “I know it’s only a Tuesday but I was thinking tonight we can go drinking at the Rabbit Hole, like I’m working there until 8 and then I have tomorrow off,” she starts babbling, Emma feels so mean but all she can think about is Henry and getting him back.
“I can’t, I need to find my son. I need to find him I don’t know.” She starts to ramble, she knows Alex won’t understand, but she can’t think straight.
Alex looks perplexed, “I’m confused, you don’t have a son? Emma are you feeling okay?”
“No!” She cries, “nothing in my life is real, none of this. It’s all lies I don’t.”
Alex takes Emma’s hand, “Em. It’s okay. I’m your best friend, I’ve known you for your whole life, whatever you’re going though I’m here.”
“No that’s the problem, you don’t know me. At all. My life, growing up with you, it’s all based on a lie.” As soon as Emma said it, she knew it came out wrong.
Letting go of her hand Alex replies, “okay well if that’s how you feel then forget it. I was only trying to help. So much for being best friends.” And storms away, hurt by what Emma said.
She tried to call after her, but it was no use. And plus even if she tried to explain what was going on she wouldn’t believe it.
___
Standing outside of the Pawn Shop is strange. She had been inside many times before in her past life, but not once in the past 25 years. She stands outside for a moment debating what to say, but in the end she just storms inside. She sees the dark one inside in all his horrific glory, despite not having aged much he still looks awful.
“Where the hell is my son Gold?” She demands.
“Why Miss Nolan, I didn’t realise you had a son?” Emma rolls her eyes, the typical Dark One avoiding the question at hand.
“Don’t play dumb okay. Henry. Your grandson. Where. Is. He?” She demands again.
He finally looks up from his books. “Ah, has it been 25 years already? Well I believe birthday wishes are in order!”
Emma sighs, this isn’t going to be easy. “Look. My parents told me Henry and Killian made some kind of deal with you after what happened to me. They’re in some other realm or something, I want to know where, and how you can get them back.”
“Well I told them where they could go. Doesn’t mean they’re still there. As for getting them back, I’m afraid you’ll have to do that yourself.” He explains.
“Okay then do something to find them.” She practically yells at him.
“Blood magic can be used to find your son, for your one handed pirate lover I'm afraid there’s no way of finding him.” Emma’s heart sinks, but she knows Henry is the most important person to find right now.
He reaches under the counter to grab something, part of Emma wishes she had her gun but at the same time she knew that wouldn’t work on him, and her parents probably got rid of that a long time ago. It’s the same white atlas-like ball he used to locate Henry when he was kidnapped by Pans' minions.
“Before you do anything, if that’s a locator spell we are using my blood. Forgive me if I don’t trust you, it’s been a while since I’ve seen you do anything.” She tells him.
He nods in understanding. Emma gives her hand over and he and he pricks it on the top of the globe, slowly releasing her finger onto the white globe and the blood rushes around forming different shapes until they finally form one shape and glow.
“What does that mean?” She asks.
He smirks, “why it’s Neverland dearie.”
The pit of Emma’s stomach gurgled, and it wasn’t because she hasn’t eaten anything today.
Neverland.
Where Henry was taken the first time. Also the place where she finally admitted to herself that she felt something for Killian, and where he told her after kissing her he saw himself loving someone again.
It was where she accepted the fact she was an orphan, a lost girl.
“So do you have a magic bean or something?” She asks, ignoring her overwhelming thoughts inside her head.
The Dark one just laughs, “you think if I had an endless supply to magic beans I would still live here?”
Emma just glares at him, “so how do I get there? What happened to the wand you had? It created portals before?”
“That wand was lost a long time ago. As for portals, you and your brother are born of the truest love, your powers are of the strongest light magic. You created a portal once when you went back in time, I’m sure after years of training and love you’ll be able to do it again.” He explains. “Meet me back here later with your family and I’ll show you.”
______
______
Neal Nolan was working as an English Teacher in Storybrooke High. He had grown up with his older sister Emma, who was a year older than him. Or so he thought. Neal had no idea of the news he was about to be hit with about his sister.
Neal knocks on the door to his parents’ house with his gift for his sister. He got her a Granny's gift card and a new brown sheriffs jacket (which his girlfriend Thalia helped him pick out) and expects to see Emma in the goofy birthday hat they have both worn on their birthdays since they were 5, but instead, his dad opens the door and he walks in to find Emma looking through the Storybook almost crying.
“Everything okay?” He asks.
Emma looks at him, almost horrified. “We gotta talk.”
He debates whether to say Happy Birthday or not. He decides against it.
“I have no idea how you’re going to take this news,” Emma begins, “One thing is that you are an uncle.”
Nels eyes widen “You’re pregnant?”
“NO!” Emma shouts “Not, no, definitely not.”
Neal is even more confused.
“You are an uncle, but I’m not pregnant. I was, but I'm not now, or well I was a long time ago” Emma starts rambling and making no sense, Neal is even more confused now-When did Emma have a kid?
“Maybe we should back up a little.” Snow says, seeing her son's confused face.
And so the three of them explain how Emma was put through the magic wardrobe to eventually save everyone. How Emma met Neals namesake and thus Henry was born but given up for adoption. Then all about her journey in Storybrooke and breaking the curse, and all the other journeys and curses up until the one where she was turned into a toddler. And how said son and Emma’s boyfriend ran away to Neverland, a place where nobody grows old.
Looking at the photos of Emma holding her baby brother was slightly concerning considering Emma in the photos looked exactly as she did now, yet Neal was a baby. If he hadn’t just been told Emma’s previous life story, he would’ve sworn they were photoshopped.
“Okay, so what happens now?” Neal asks, worried about the answer.
“You and I have to create a portal to Neverland to save my son and True Love,” Emma tells him as though it’s obvious.
“Wait a second, you and I create a portal, like combine our powers?” Neal asks slightly worried about this, they had never combined their powers before and now they were meant to create a portal, everything that could possibly go wrong was likely to happen.
“I realise it’s crazy, but we have no choice. You just gotta trust me.” Emma knows Neal can never say no when she says this, as his older sister Emma always got him to do what she wanted by saying “trust me”. Despite getting into trouble most of the time when they were younger with the whole trusting Emma, even now as a 26 year old man, he couldn't say no to his sister.
Neal just sighs, “Okay. Let's do this.”
Neal had never stepped inside Mr. Gold's Pawn shop. When he was younger he heard stories of kids sneaking in and touching different items therefore getting cursed with the insane amounts of dark magic in his shop. Now he was older, he knew this was just a story, but it didn’t make him any less nervous to enter his shop, there was an insane amount of light and dark magic inside that freaked him out.
There was something different about Emma, the way she walked and held herself. She was less confident, very aware of her surroundings, normally she was more confident and whilst she was aware people knew her (both as Snow White oldest child, and the current sheriff), she never let this bother her, whereas now, supposedly everyone their parents age would have known her before her curse, people were looking at her wondering if she had broken her curse yet. Even as they enter Mr Gold's shop, which wasn’t actually as scary inside as he pictured, she walked in very determined,
“Okay were here. How do we do this?”
“Patience Miss Nolan.” He tells her.
“Ah and the youngest of the Charming broods I see.” Mr Gold says looking at Neal, who suddenly felt a little uncomfortable. He knew of the things he had done to people, innocent people, in the Enchanted Forest and that made his stomach churn. But his parents (and Emma apparently now too) have trusted him in the past, and Neal guessed so should he.
“Before we make this portal, you don’t do things out of the goodness of whatever heart you have left. What did you ask for in return?” Emma really was not the older sister he grew up with, she was this independent, confident and slightly argumentative woman that looked like his sister, but had a different aura about her.
“For my grandson I was willing to let the poor lad have this without a deal. As for the pirate.” He sneers, Neal was told The Dark One had a colourful history with Hook, and he was seeing this already. “I simply reminded him of the 300 years he spent in Neverland and what, desires, may still lurk.”
Neal had no idea what this meant, and neither did Emma by the looks of it.
“Now, you two are born of the purest true love therefore your powers combined can create some pretty serious magic.” Gold explains, “Now I need the two of you to hold your hands together and believe you are strong enough. You need to think of the portal in your minds, you will feel it when it is ready.”
And so the siblings to just that. They take each other's hands, standing opposite one another and close their eyes. They then take a deep breath and think of a portal in their minds, letting their magic grow and rise above them.
Emma thinks of Henry, and of Killian. She thinks of Neverland in her mind, and when Henry was kidnapped, she thinks of how badly she wanted to get him back and the things she had learnt about herself, about how much she loved Henry. And about how she was feeling something for Hook.
Both siblings can feel the magic, it’s a part of them and it's rushing around their insides like their blood. Gold said they would feel it when the portal was ready, and he was not wrong. It almost splits the two siblings apart, but they hold on to one another until they just know it’s ready.
The two siblings open their eyes and see a door, a green door with black etchings and designs. It's the portal to Neverland.
They're going to save Henry. Again.
_______
The four charming family members step through the beautifully crafted door, the portal to Neverland. They had packed a few bags and Emma was going to see her son (and hopefully true love) for the first time in 25 years. She could be sick.
The greenery of Neverland greets them as they walk through the door, the humidity and vast amount of jungle and sea that they had seen once upon a time. They arrive near the coast, and Emma can’t see the Jolly Roger in the water, but she had to think positively. If Killian was here she would find him. But only after they found Henry.
She looks over at her parents, and they have the same look on their faces. Fear, determination and awoken memories they had shoved into the back of their minds. After all, Emma wasn’t the only person to go through hell in Neverland, her father was poisoned with dreamshade and had planned to spend the rest of eternity here after drinking the rejuvenating waters.
And poor Neal who only found out a few hours ago that she was actually a lot older than him and was cursed, and now he was in Neverland searching for two people he had only met as a baby.
“Let’s head into the jungle then.” Emma says to her family. And so they head off, into the green jungle filled with who knows what. Now Pan was dead, who knows who now ruled Neverland.
It looks the same as it did 30 years ago, but it feels different. The Magic on the Island feels different, she knows this now, by studying magic for years taught her to sense different types of magic and this was some kind of mix of light dark magic. Not as powerful as Dark One Magic, but not the light magic she feels inside herself. Whatever was keeping this Island alive was clearly a type of magic not found in Storybrooke.
They’re walking for probably an hour when Neals plucks up there courage and asks, “Do you recognise anything here?”
Emma wants to ignore him and shut him out, the way she would’ve done before, but he was her brother, “Honestly, no. I thought I would but it all looks the same.”
“I think we should keep walking, I think we’re on a ridge right now and I assume there’s flatland where we can set up camp a little further up.” Their mother cuts in. Snow was a bandit and a runaway for years when her father was killed, so she knows how to scope out new lands and find a place to set up camp, so they don’t question it and sure enough another little while and they find flat land that seems like a good enough place to set up camp.
“Let’s not use magic to set it up though,” Emma tells her brother, “we don’t know what sort of magic is used here, or who now rules this Island and if they can detect magic. It’s just safer to do it the normal way.”
Everyone nods as they begin to set up. Emma is terrified, she has been since she woke up and realised her life was a lie. She had grown up the way she always wished to, with a family, but now she had broken her curse, it didn’t feel right. She abandoned two people she loved, one being her son. The first family she had in 28 years.
They had run away. So heartbroken that they ran from their home. That didn’t make her feel good about herself. Henry has forgiven her for giving him up as a baby, but will he forgive her for this?
“Emma! Emma!”
She’s snapped out of her thoughts by her brother's voice.
“Sorry, I was zoned out.” She tells him.
“Hey it’s okay don’t worry.” He can clearly sense what’s happening in her brain, though he has no idea of the extent. “I know you said no magic, but don’t you think it’s a good idea to put up a protection spell around our camp? To keep out whoever or whatever might attack us.”
Her little brother was brilliant. Though his magical abilities were not as good, lucky for him was not the saviour so his magic wasn't as strong, but what he did know was his magical history and the theory behind magic, much more than Emma did.
“That's actually a really good idea! You can cast it if you want, I’m a little weak after the portal.”  She lies, she’s not weak, she's just scared of using her magic. In her real-or before her cursed life, she didn’t use magic unless it was serious, when she was the Dark One she used it for everything just like in her cursed life.
He believes her lie, why wouldn’t he, she never normally lies to him. He casts the protection spell eagerly, not normally given the chance to do magic.
“We should rest. It’s dark, and we’re not gonna be able to find Henry now. Let’s sleep, and we can figure out our plan in the morning. We also don’t know who or what is in charge of this Island, don’t want to run into them in the middle of the night.” David says to his family, to which they all agree. Emma is exhausted and her dad is right, there’s no point starting now all she knows is he is on the Island somewhere, maybe he’s imprisoned, or worse, enjoying his time on the island where you don’t grow up.
Sharing a tent with Neal when they were kids was a fun adventure, but as two adults, one who was snoring very loudly, it was a very different story. As tired and exhausted as Emma was, or thought she was, she could not sleep. Killian once told her he was never able to sleep in Neverland, as you can hear the cries of the other lost boys and girls.
But you can only hear their cries if you are also a lost one.
Sure Emma had a family, and she grew up surrounded by people who loved her, she had 2 best friends and a little brother. She was the furthest thing from a lost girl. But she was an orphan. For 28 years, she was an orphan who was never wanted, and gave up her child at 17. That part of Emma will never go away.
Giving up on trying to sleep, she gets out of the tent and sits on the log to try and clear her head. If it’s even possible to do that with the cries of lost ones.
She thought about the two men she was here to save. The last time she had seen Henry, it was saying goodbye to him on the school bus, it was a Friday so they planned to have a Star Wars marathon that weekend. Emma had stocked the freezer with Ice Cream especially. Finally Killian would learn and understand their references to Star Wars. She hoped Henry would still be the same smart little kid who questioned everything.
And Killian. God she missed him. He would bring her coffee in the mornings when she had an early start, and when she was on a night shift at the station he would be at home cooking her breakfast. If she hadn’t been cursed, they would’ve been married and had a kid or two by now. They were finally happy, finally without walls, and she had a feeling Killian was going to propose. But of course he never got the chance.
She loses her train of thought when she hears a twig being stepped on. Her impulses kick in and she hides behind the large tree to her left. She hears someone whistling, as if signalling to somebody. She sees him in the distance. A lost boy, around 15, dark hair, like…
“Henry!” She jumps from behind the tree and in front of her son.
He looks startled, obviously because she scared him and also he hasn’t seen her for 25 years. “Mom?”
Emma is smiling so hard right now, “Henry!”
Henry can’t seem to get words out, “m-mom? Is? It’s-you-you’re here?”
She goes to embrace her son with tears streaming down her face. “I’m here. It’s broken. The curse.”
She pulls back and wipes away her tears.
“Is it really you?” He asks.
Emma looks different to how he remembers her. Her blonde hair is in a french braid, something she only learned to do in this life. Her clothes are nicer, but still donning the red jacket. Henry knows it’s her, but could it really be her?
“It’s me. Henry. It’s really me. I know you love cinnamon on your hot cocoa, and Operation Cobra brought me to Storybrooke and you made me believe in magic in everything.” Emma’s practically sobbing, she didn’t expect to see him so soon.
Henry looks nervous constantly checking his surroundings, “I can’t stay. If you’re truly my mom, then meet me here tomorrow morning when the sun rises over the place they took my heart.”  With one last look he runs away into the darkness of Neverland.
Emma is stunned for a second, confused as to what just happened. Was there someone following him, or did he need to be somewhere?
The place where they took my heart
Dark Hollow . She tried to look around but it was dark, hopefully in the morning she would be able to see the sun rising over it.
Just as she’s pondering over the last minute with Henry, she’s startled by another voice.
“Swan.”
She hasn’t heard that name in 25 years. And there’s only one person who calls her that.
“Killian.”

London hadn’t changed. It never did. The rain always seemed to be present and the sun constantly hid behind the grey clouds. It was supposed to be summer, wasn’t it? You’d been back home for nearly two weeks now and not a single day went by where you didn’t speak to Tom. He always managed to make time for a phone call or FaceTime no matter what country he was in. Neither of you had tried to discuss exactly what you were, which was something you were actually glad about; it was too important a conversation to have over a connection that could easily fail at any given moment. No, it was best to wait until you saw each other again.
The sound of thunder echoed in the city and feeling the first drops of rain splash on your nose, you pulled an umbrella from your backpack and opened it just in time for the rain to start pelting. A young boy ahead in the street grabbed onto his mother’s hand for dear life, whining about not wanting to get his “Spidey” coat wet. The red and blue coat brought a small smile to your face and you couldn’t help but think back to the night you’d spent with Tom in Philadelphia.
The second Tom’s lips touched yours, you just knew from that point onwards, you were his. It was like every kiss you’d ever had in the past was wrong and this one was making up for all those mistakes, taunting and showing you what you’d been missing out on. His lips were like a drug and it scared you how much you craved them, already wanting more before this fix was even over.
His tongue slipped into your mouth, gentle but demanding all the same. You gasped quietly. Every inch of your body dissolved into his. He pushed his weight onto you as your hands found their way into his hair, tugging on the thick curls. He gave a groan and you smiled against his lips; it immediately became one of your favourite sounds. His hand slid down your side, grabbing your hip, your leg, your bum - anything he could get a hold of. He pulled you closer, pressing his hips against you.
“Wait, Tom, wait,” you whispered hurriedly, though couldn’t bring yourself to break away from his glorious lips.
He moved back slightly. You could still feel his breath on your skin, but the sudden parting made you feel cold. “What’s wrong?” he asked quietly and you were thankful for the lack of light just so you couldn’t see the hurt on his face that was evident in his voice. “Did I… Should I not have-”
“What? No, no, it’s not that,” you interrupted, absently twirling a curl at the nape of his neck around your fingers. “I just… I just don’t want this to be a one night stand. I don’t want to go home regretting this.”
“I don’t want this to be a one night stand either,” he replied and gave you a chaste kiss on the lips before sitting up. He reached over to the bedside table and turned on the lamp. “I wasn’t planning on taking it that far, as much as I want to,” he sighed and ran a hand over his flushed face as he shot you a wicked smile.
“Oh I know you want to, I could feel how much you want to against my hip,” you snorted and chanced a glance down at his crotch. The strain against his boxers made your mouth water, but you knew it was the best decision to stop things before they went too far.
“I can’t control it,” he laughed and shook his head, grinning now. The redness of his cheeks deepened and you could only imagine how flustered you looked in comparison. “But you’re right, we’ll stop.” His dark eyes scanned the room and landed on the pillows scattered across the floor. “Want me to build the wall again?”
“I’m sure we’ll manage to control ourselves.”
“I know I will, I just don’t know if I can trust you,” he smirked, sending you a wink. As you rolled your eyes, he leaned over to turn the light off again before getting comfortable in bed next to you. After a brief pause, he rolled over and pulled you into his chest, spooning you without a word. Despite the sudden pent up frustration that would only be solved by the man whose arms you were in, you had one of the best nights’ sleep in a long time.
You could hear the squeal of laughter from your little brother before you’d even managed to get to the house, the sound loud enough to make it two houses down the street. It had been weeks since you’d seen them, maybe even a month. Life had just gotten in the way. It was hard, even though you did only live a few miles apart. Letting yourself into the townhouse, you sang a hello and grinned at the little boy who instantly came running through into the hallway, throwing himself at you. “Hey, little man,” you beamed and pressed a kiss into his curly mop of brown hair. You lifted him up a little higher and groaned quietly. “God, you’re getting heavy, Oliver. Soon you’ll be bigger than me!”
“Daddy says that,” he giggled and tightened his arms around your neck, almost cutting off your oxygen supply as he hugged you.
“Olly, don’t smother her.” Your mother, Julia, appeared and wrapped you up in a gentle hug as though to show Olly that not everything needed squeezing like a pimple. “It’s been a while, love.”
“Well you know how work gets sometimes,” you hummed and carried Olly back into the front room, setting him down on the couch that was piled with his toys and books. “Dad working?”
“Yeah, he’s got a big case on at the minute,” Julia said and gave a nod in the direction of the hallway, telling you he was in his office. “I wouldn’t go in yet though, I got an earful for bringing him a cup of tea. He said I was distracting him.”
You smiled and shook your head a little. It was always best to leave your father alone when he was busy on a case to avoid getting your head bitten off. Daniel had been a criminal lawyer since way before you’d been brought home and yet after all this time, he still had trouble separating his work life from his private one. Once he got a case, that’s all he cared about. Of course, he wasn’t completely inhumane and forced himself an hour away to do Oliver’s bedtime routine every night without fail. So you could forgive him for that.
You mother, on the other hand, had always made time for her children. She’d even given up her job when she found out she was pregnant with Olly. He wasn’t expected at all, what with Julia having suffered through a horrendous amount of miscarriages for years previously, so she’d decided to take the time to rest in fear of anything blowing the good luck. The original plan had been for her to start looking for jobs when he turned one, but he was now three and she’d yet to send a single application.
“I’m half expecting him to shout about me closing the front door being a big distraction,” you chuckled and sat on the couch to let Olly drive a toy truck along your thigh.
“Wouldn’t surprise me. So, what’s been keeping you so busy these days?” Julia took a seat on the recliner, relaxing into the cushion. “Nothing to do with a boy, is it?” The twinkle in her eye and smirk on her face made your cheeks burn with embarrassment.
“Mum!” Even though you were a grown woman, there was nothing like the humiliation of a mother wanting to discuss boys with her daughter.
“Olivia popped in the other day,” she explained, chuckling gently. “She was passing and stayed for a bit and just happened to mention you gallivanting around America with a boy. She refused to tell me about him, though. Promised you she wouldn’t say anything, she said.”
“I wasn’t gallivanting.”
“Do I at least get a name?”
“Alright, his name’s Tom,” you murmured, coming up with a plan to murder Olivia without leaving any kind of evidence that would lead back to you. An afternoon with your father’s files would surely help you with that. “We met when I did that shoot for GQ, the one over in California.”
“Wait… Tom… Tom… Why does that sound familiar?” Julia asked and frowned a little. “Wait, is it this Tom?” She got up and went into the kitchen, returning a moment later with the magazine. You’d forgotten it went to print this month.
“Why do you have this?” you asked, avoiding her question.
“We always keep your work.”
The comment brought a smile to your face and you took the magazine, staring at the handsome actor on the cover. His curls were gelled slightly but the wind had caused them to mess up, making him look even cuter. You could remember him moaning about having to wear a leather jacket in the heat, only shutting up after you threatened to photoshop devil horns onto the images. Feeling the questioning gaze of your mother, you looked up at her and then gave a quiet sigh. “Okay, yes it’s him. He was working over in America the same time I was, he was doing some press stuff, so I just extended my stay.”
“He must be a keeper then for you to do that,” Julia smirked and you resisted the urge to roll your eyes.
“He’s nice, Mum,” you told her and tossed the magazine onto the wooden coffee table. “We’ve seen each other a few times, I think I’m seeing him again this week at some point when he’s gotten over the jet lag.”
“Why don’t you invite him over for dinner?”
“Mum, I’ve not even been out to dinner with him yet. Give us a chance.”
“Well what were you doing while you were over the- Actually, don’t tell me, I don’t want to know!”
“We weren’t doing that!” you squeaked and buried your face in Olly’s hair to hide your flaming cheeks. He giggled quietly and took the opportunity to wrap you up in another tight hug. “We didn’t actually spend that much time together. He was working a lot… We went out for lunch one of the days, but it was a bit rushed since he had leave for an interview. The only dinner we’ve actually had is a burrito in the car. Nothing particularly… Romantic.”
“What weren’t you doing?” Olly asked innocently, looking up at you with his big brown eyes.
“We weren’t buying you presents, that’s what,” you replied and tapped his nose. “But I’ll make up for it. How about we go shopping? I’ll buy you whatever you want, within reason.”
His face lit up with a big grin and he jumped up on the couch before pouncing, happily attacking you with a shriek. “Can I get a big car?” he asked, voice high and loud and clearly excited.
“As long as it’s a toy one, yes,” you promised and he hopped off the couch before running out of the room, barely slowing down when Julia shouted after him not to run in the house. You followed him up the stairs to his bedroom and pulled a woolly jumper over his t-shirt, then helped him into a pair of shiny yellow wellies. After zipping up his matching raincoat, you said goodbye to Julia and left the house hand in hand.
It didn’t take too long to get into the city centre, thankful you only had to catch one train instead of rushing around for multiple. Even though it was the middle of the week, it was still busy, but what else would expect from London? Keeping a tight hold of Olly’s hand, you wormed your way through the tourists and workers on their lunch break, eventually making it to Hamleys. As soon as you stepped through the doorway, screaming children and scolding parents could be heard. There were a number of birthday parties being held and as much as you loved children, you couldn’t think of anything worse to experience. Seeing the bored looking parents made you laugh quietly to yourself. With a promise not to run out of sight, Olly let go of your hand and headed straight over to the Lego, gazing up at the creations in amazement. The vibrations of your phone in your back pocket caught your attention and you pulled it out, smiling at the name on the screen.
“You not forgotten all about me yet?” you asked Tom and you couldn’t help but grin when you heard his laugh.
“Not yet, no. Maybe by the end of the week. We’ll see.”
“So to what do I owe the pleasure?” Keeping your eye on Olly, you moved over to sit on one of the empty chairs by the escalator. “I thought you’d be sleeping your jet lag off.”
“I thought so too but I wanted to see you instead,” he replied and your stomach flipped at the softness of his voice. Whether it was down to fatigue or genuine sentiment, you didn’t care. “So are you free?”
“Well I’m actually out with my brother at the minute,” you said. “I promised to buy him a toy but I can tell you now, he’ll definitely work a few more than one into the basket. He knows how to get his own way with me.”
Tom gave another hearty laugh. “That’s what kids are meant to do! But I can… I can, um, come meet you if you want?”
“What, really?” You hadn’t expected him to be up for shopping with your little brother. Well, you hadn’t actually expected him to call today since he only landed home the night before. “I mean, we’re literally just gonna be wanderi- Olly, come back please! Stay where I can see you.” You sighed a little and Tom chuckled quietly on the other end of the phone. “Sorry, he’s a bugger for walking off. But as I was saying, we’re just shopping for him and he tends to take about two hours deciding which socks he wants to wear in the mornings, so picking which toy he wants is gonna be a big one.”
“I don’t mind, I just want to see you.”
“Gosh, does being tired also make you incredibly needy?”
“I’m afraid so, [Y/N].”
“Well I suppose it’s something I’ll just have to deal with,” you smirked and got up from the chair when Olly ran off again. It was easier just to follow him than try and make him stay in one section for more than five minutes. “We’ll probably still be in Hamleys by the time you get here.”
“I won’t be long, I promise.” With a goodbye, he hung up and you slid your phone back into your pocket.
True to his word, Tom managed to find you just as you’d convinced Olly to go onto the next floor of the shop, sneakily steering him away from the ridiculously expensive teddy bears. He wasn’t much of a teddy person, but you didn’t want to risk getting persuaded into spending a month’s rent on a bear that would only collect dust at the end of his bed. Tom made his way over just as you tried to pull down a jigsaw from a shelf that was a little bit too high.
“Need any help?” came his voice from behind and you spun around with a grin. He reached up and grabbed the box. You held back your comment about him having to stand on his toes, too.
“What do you say, Olly?” you coaxed as Tom held out the puzzle box to the small boy.
“Thank you,” Olly whispered and instead of taking the jigsaw, he hugged your leg tightly and hid his face against your thigh.
You gave Tom an apologetic smile, but he just shook his head and crouched down to Olly’s height. “I don’t bite, I promise,” he said gently and placed the box down onto the floor between them. “I’m Tom, I’m your sister’s friend. She’s told me loads about you,” he grinned and Olly turned his head a little to glance at the stranger. “She’s told me how much you love cars. They’re pretty cool, huh?”
“Really cool,” Olly corrected quietly, making Tom’s face brighten. He loosened his grip on your leg and faced Tom properly, trusting him now more than anyone else in the world because he liked cars just as he did. He picked the jigsaw up from the floor and held it close to his chest. “Will you help me with this?”
“We have to pay for it first, Ol,” you chuckled and ruffled his hair before looking up at Tom, who’d stood back up straight. Despite speaking near enough all day every day and talking about everything from work to space conspiracy theories, all you could think to say was a soft, “Hi.”
“Hi,” he laughed and, much to Olly’s disgust, leaned over to give you a peck on the lips.
“Mummy says we don’t kiss friends,” Olly spoke up, looking between the two of you with a slight frown.
“Tom’s a special friend,” you explained and gave his curls another ruffle. “Why don’t you see if you can go find another toy? One more and that’s it.” As Olly hurried over to the Toy Story figurines, you pulled Tom into a tight hug. God, you’d missed him. The feeling of his arms wrapped around your waist was something you loved and couldn’t even begin to picture yourself in anyone else’s.
“Olly’s cute,” Tom smiled when you finally forced yourself to move back. “He’s got your eyes.”
“Okay, now I know you’re just being polite,” you snorted and gave his shoulder a light shove. The confused look that crossed his features made you laugh. “Come on, I know you weren’t expecting him to look like that. In fact, I’m surprised I didn’t catch that look sooner that everyone always has when they meet him, or anyone else in my family.”
“What d’you mean?” he asked, though it was pretty obvious he completely understood what you were talking about.
“He’s not my biological brother,” you hummed and leaned back against a table of toys, crossing your arms loosely over your chest. “The stark contrast of skin colour sort of gives it away. Well, I suppose he could have been my half brother,” you shrugged. “But no. I’m actually adopted.” The second floor of a Hamleys wasn’t exactly the place you’d imagined having this conversation, but you were so comfortable with the subject that it wasn’t an issue.
“Adopted? How come you never mentioned it?” he asked and you caught the look in his eye that you hated, the one that you used to receive all the time when children in school would question your parentage. You’d always been aware of where you came from and it took you until your high school years to understand that not everyone would accept it straight away, and not instantly pity the poor little adopted girl.
“Because of that look you just gave me!” you laughed and held your hand up when he went to respond, “I’m used to it, don’t worry. I know it’s just a sort of reflex thing. I was around Olly’s age when Mum and Dad took me in, so I don’t know anything different. As far as I’m aware, they’re my real parents.”
His face softened and he went to reach for your hand, but Olly came running over, shouting excitedly about the Buzz Lightyear figure he’d found. His pudgy fingers took a hold of yours and using all his strength, he pulled you over to the shelves. After the hard decision of choosing which of the identical toys he wanted, Olly eventually picked “the best one” and threw it into the basket.
“Do you like superheroes, Olly?” Tom asked as you all carried on making your way through the aisles.
You couldn’t help but roll your eyes at the question, though managed to hold your laugh back. Of course he’d ask about that. It wouldn’t be much of a surprise if he tried to convert Olly into Spider-Man’s number one fan.
“Capt’n ‘merica is cool!” Olly grinned and ran circles around you both, throwing punches in the air as though he was the hero himself.
Tom chuckled and stepped away from your side to join in the fun. He swiped a Captain America shield from the Marvel display and gave it to Olly, then grabbed one of the Thor hammers. “No one can beat the mighty Thor!” he proclaimed, deepening his voice. He slowly aimed the hammer at the shield and dramatically threw himself back a couple feet when the plastic collided. He’d been defeated.
“Gosh, it’s like looking after two children! And it also looks like Captain America is the best of all the Avengers,” you smirked and high fived Olly. “Maybe even better than Spider-Man.”
“What? That’s not true!” You couldn’t tell whether Tom was really offended or not, and that’s what made you laugh harder. “Olly, who’s better: Spider-Man or Captain America?”
“Capt’n ‘merica,” the boy replied without a second thought, hugging the shield close.
“I beg to differ,” he mumbled with a pout.
“I’m sure the opinion of a three year old who’s only seen about ten minutes total of the whole franchise really matters to you,” you teased and reached over to pat his cheek. He replaced his pout with a grin and finally took a hold of your hand, slipping his fingers between yours as you walked over to pay for Olly’s new toys.
“Hey, hey, what are you doing?” you asked as soon as you saw Tom take out his wallet after the toys had been scanned and packed away in a bag.
“Um, paying?”
“No you’re not. Put your wallet away.”
“But he destroyed me in a fight, it’s only fair.”
Unable to argue back, you gave a heavy sigh and put your purse back in your backpack. Tom paid for the toys and you left the shop with two bags and an extremely giddy child. The rain had stopped, but the sky was still painted grey, casting a gloomy shadow over the busy street. With Olly’s hand in yours and the bags in Tom’s, you headed left to follow the majority of the crowd.
“Now what do you say to Tom, Olly?” you asked, giving the singing boy a pointed look.
“Thank you, Tommy!” he grinned and began skipping along the pavement, the anticipation of playing with his new toys vibrating from his small body.
“Just don’t go fighting too many baddies, leave some for the rest of the Avengers,” Tom told him and Olly just nodded his head a little, though was barely listening.
“I need to take him back home,” you said to Tom, stopping on the pavement for a moment to let Olly pet a dog. The dog sniffed his hand and then scurried off. “You want to come back? We won’t be long and then afterwards… I don’t know, we could do something?”
Tom struggled to hide his smile and he nodded. “I know what we could do, but I’ll tell you later.”
All the way back to your parents’ house, you found it near enough impossible to stop wondering about what he had planned. He’d only been back in London since the night before, so that didn’t exactly give him plenty of time to plan anything big. Whatever it was, you knew it would be fun. After the three of you stepped off the train at the station, you took your time walking back to the house, laughing with Olly as he sang the wrong words to his favourite Disney songs. He begged and begged to be swung, so you each took a hold of his hands and lifted him high, swinging him over the puddles until you got to the garden fence. When he realised he was back home, he ran ahead and hurried inside.
“Don’t be so nervous,” you laughed, catching Tom’s brief look of fear that swept over his face. “God, what is it about meeting parents that makes people so scared?”
“I’m not scared, I’m just trying to think of the best escape route… You know, just in case.”
“You’ll be fine.” You reached over and squeezed his hand, then led him into the house. Olly could be heard in the living room, talking a million miles an hour about his day. Julia laughed as she listened to the boy’s story, already asking questions about his new toys, which just excited him even more. You looked at Tom and laughed at how terrified he seemed, then gave him a nudge, pushing him towards the living room.
“[Y/N], you’ve spoile- Oh, hello!” Julia chuckled when she spotted Tom standing awkwardly in the doorway. He was the last person she’d expected.
You gave him another push and followed him into the room, smiling a little sheepishly. “Mum, this is Tom. Tom, this is my mum Julia.”
“It’s really nice to meet you, Julia,” Tom said and pushed his nervousness aside as he smiled at the older woman. Was this how he dealt with new, uncomfortable situations, by putting his acting skills to the test? If so, he was doing brilliantly.
“And you too. Come in, stop standing there, you can sit down,” she said and nodded over at the couch. She’d cleaned up Olly’s toys since you’d been out, but Olly was beginning to make up for it by taking them all out of the toybox again, putting them back in their rightful place on the floor. He’d already forgotten about his new presents.
“Also, I didn’t spoil him,” you told Julia and took a seat next to Tom. “Tom wanted to treat him. Olly won him in a fight so that was the prize, though I’m pretty sure that wasn’t agreed upon beforehand.”
“Well it’s only fair for him to win something cool,” Tom chuckled, leaning back on the cushions. “Even if it wasn’t a Spider-Man costume.”
“I don’t like Spider-Man,” Olly piped up. He finished pulling all his toys from the box and looked around to decide which one he wanted to play with, then after a moment, scurried over to the newest additions.
“You don’t like Spider-Man? But he’s-”
“Are you really going to argue with a toddler?” you questioned, brow raised.
Tom gave a quiet sigh and visibly struggled to agree on how he’d respond, then his shoulders sagged a little in defeat. “No.”
“He changes his likes and dislikes every day, so I wouldn’t get too offended,” Julia laughed and got up from the chair to start packing away Olly’s abandoned toys. “Are you staying for dinner?”
“No, we’re actually gonna head off,” you replied. “Only came to pop in for a minute, I’ll come round for dinner next week. I’ll even bring food over.”
“Oh, well it was nice to see you, Tom, for all of two seconds,” Julia laughed and showed you both out, stopping at the front door to give you a hug and a kiss. “Maybe by next week she won’t be scared I’ll say something embarrassing and might actually bring you over for dinner, and let you stay for more than five minutes,” she said to Tom with a chuckle and, ever the hugger, wrapped Tom up in her arms briefly.
“You know I can hear you, right?” you hummed and they both laughed. “See you soon, Mum.” After another kiss, you waved goodbye and left the house with Tom. When you got to the train station, you followed him onto the right train, still having no idea where you were going now. Did he even know or was he just winging it? “So what are we doing?” you asked impatiently once your train took off.
“I’m surprised you managed to hold off asking until this point,” he laughed and stretched his legs out in front of him, relaxing in the seat. He looked out of the window. “I thought since you let me meet some of your family, why not let you meet mine?”
The colour drained from your face. That definitely wasn’t what you’d expected. Why didn’t he let you prepare, to at least change your outfit so you didn’t smell of the city? Had he forgotten about you wanting to wait? Neither of you had actually discussed what sort of relationship you had, if any, so was now really the best time to meet his family?
“And you told me not to be scared.”
You looked up from your hands to see him grinning cheekily. “I’m not scared.”
“You look like you’re about to pass out! I just thought I’d give you warning instead of just throwing you in at the deep end, and just so you know, she’s the most important woman in my life.”
“What? You can’t do that to me! I need at least a week’s notice!”
“And her opinion matter most to me,” he continued as though you hadn’t uttered a word. “I’ve brought home a few girls in the past who she really didn’t like and I just… I don’t want to be with someone who doesn’t get along with her.”
Of course you could understand that. If a guy you brought home didn’t get on with your mum, that would be a huge issue for you. You prayed you clicked with his mum. “Well I’ll be on my best behaviour.”
“I’ll make sure she’s on hers.”
You continued to quiz Tom for the rest of the journey, but he gave absolutely nothing away. No tips, hints or tricks on how to make the best first impression. Nothing. And it frustrated you to no end. You pictured his mother laughing at the sight of you, telling her son that he was crazy for even thinking about bringing you home to meet her. Then he’d join in, both knowing he was far too good for you. Yeah, that’s exactly what would happen. There was no doubt about it. Your questioning didn’t halt when the train did, and you carried on questioning him as you walked along the streets. You didn’t even notice he’d stopped until you bumped into his back mid-sentence.
“Home sweet home,” he winked and skipped up the few steps to the front door. When he slipped the key into the lock, he paused and turned back to you. “Now don’t be nervous, I’m sure she’ll love you.”
You took a quiet, deep breath as he pushed the door open and you followed him inside the house. Scratching on the wooden floor could be heard and within seconds of Tom shutting the door behind you, a small dog came scurrying into the hallway. She barked excitedly, tail wagging so hard that her whole body shook. The ecstatic dog jumped up against Tom’s leg and he bent down to scratch her ears and give her a cuddle.
“[Y/N], meet Tessa,” he grinned and started rubbing Tessa’s belly on the floor. She continued wiggling around, unsure of whether she wanted to be petted or hugged more.
You stared at the couple. The love between them could almost be physically felt, but you looked between Tom and Tessa in confusion. “Wait, this is who I’m meeting?” you asked and suddenly burst out laughing. He grinned up at you. “This is the most important woman in your life?”
“Well yeah. You didn’t think I meant anyone else, did you?” His grin turned into a sly smirk and you wanted to slap him and kiss him and just laugh. You stuck with the latter.
Tessa scrambled up as though she only just noticed your presence and bounded over to sniff your legs. When she decided you smelled good enough, she barked happily and, chuckling softly, you knelt down to give her a proper greeting. For as long as you could remember, Staffy’s had been one of those breeds that people warned others to stay away from, that they were dangerous and shouldn’t be kept as pets, but Tessa proved all those idiots wrong. She was so friendly and seemed to want to give as much love as she could.
“She’s gorgeous,” you beamed and sat down on the floor. Tessa whined and shuffled closer, pushing her nose under your hand so you’d get back to scratching her. “And needy.”
“She just loves her cuddles,” he said and stood watching you with a warm smile that lit up his entire face. “I do have a couch, you know. I’ve heard it’s comfier than the floor, but whatever floats your boat.”
“Come on, Tessa!” you grinned and pushed yourself up, much to the dog’s disappointment. She ran after you into the other room and jumped up on the couch to curl into your side, completely content with her new found friend.
“I didn’t think I’d actually feel jealous.” Tom relaxed by your feet and tried to get Tessa to go to him, but she was having none of it. “Okay, I might just have to kick you out, you can’t steal my Tessa away from me!”
“Well can you blame her?” you laughed and stretched your legs out over his lap.
“No, I really can’t.”
Being in Tom’s home added a whole new level to your relationship. It was like seeing a side of him that barely anyone else saw, only those close to him. Framed family photos stood along the fireplace and a small stack of scripts and books sat on the coffee table between the couch and television, which he’d switched on to show New Girl (“It’s my guilty pleasure, don’t give me that look.”). Tessa’s bed had been placed in front of the fireplace, though clearly she wasn’t shy about settling on the couch instead. There wasn’t much clutter, it was nice and tidy, but still completely Tom.
“Do you mind if I ask about your parents?”
The curtains had been closed, a Chinese takeaway had been ordered and you’d watched so many episodes of New Girl that you’d told Netflix two times that yes, you were still watching. During each episode, you’d shifted positions so that eventually you lay curled up against his side with his arm wrapped snugly around your shoulders. Tessa moved whenever you did until she settled in the space between your bent legs and bum. It was easy and it was comfortable and it felt so normal. The conversation flowed easily and you didn’t even have to think about holding anything back. When he brought up that question, you looked over at him and shrugged a shoulder, inviting him to continue.
“How come… No, that sounds horrible,” he frowned and shook his head, trying to come up with a better way to phrase his question. You knew exactly what he wanted to ask, only because you’d heard it so many times before.
“How come they adopted me when they could have a baby of their own?”
“It sounds horrible. I don’t mean it like that, you know I don’t.”
“I know, don’t worry. It’s something practically everyone wants to know,” you chuckled, not offended by any means. He relaxed at your reassurance and absently ran the tips of his fingers along your arm, tickling you lightly. “Mum was always told she couldn’t have kids,” you explained, snuggling Tessa a little closer. “They tried for years and years before they even thought of adopting. I think they’d thought of going down the surrogate route, but I don’t think Mum liked the idea of someone else carrying her baby. I guess with adoption you don’t see that, you’re just given the end product,” you chuckled. “But yeah, Olly was a big surprise. She found out she was pregnant on her forty-sixth birthday. Everyone thought she was crazy for going through with it, but he’s her little miracle baby,” you smiled and nudged your elbow against his side when he stopped tickling.
He got back to it. “Do you remember what it was like before your Mum and Dad?” he asked a little hesitantly.
“You don’t have to be shy about asking questions, I’m really okay with being adopted. It’s not like I can do anything about it,” you said. “But yeah, I remember a tiny bit. Not much since I was only three, but I remember my bedroom and some of the other kids. Not their faces, I just remember playing games and running around the house. Not much really and I don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing.”
“It sounds like you had a good experience there, which is good.” The doorbell rang and after placing a kiss on the top of your head, he went to collect the food. He unpacked it in the kitchen and brought it all out to lay on the coffee table.
You leaned over and grabbed a prawn cracker to munch on, warming up your stomach for the feast while you piled up your plate with the goods. “Tom, do you think maybe we could-”
“Have a drink? Yeah, I’ve got a bottle of wine in the fridge.”
“Well, I was going to ask if we could talk, but I wouldn’t say no to that.”
“Alright, I guess we can talk, too,” he laughed and grabbed the bottle of wine, pouring you a glass before giving himself one. He sat back down and dug into his noodles.
“Okay, first thing’s first,” you started, pushing the beef around your plate. “Did I pass the dog test?”
“Pass it? I think she loves you more than she loves me, [Y/N].” At your smile, he placed his hand on your thigh, rubbing his thumb against you. It was comforting. “I really like you. I just wanted to make sure I’m not making a mistake… And I don’t think I am.”
“I might be a bit biased, but I don’t think you are either,” you grinned and leaned a little closer. His aftershave was delicious. His coffee coloured eyes shifted and stared at your lips and he smirked faintly before meeting you halfway. He kissed you gently, carefully, but it wasn’t what you wanted. Grabbing a fistful of his t-shirt, you pulled him closer. The kiss was hungry and needy and you tried to pour everything into it.
“No, definitely not,” came his whispered reply.
Boy, were you in trouble.

@piccolabambola
hmmm let’s get into some more of that plot that pushes nick’s s/o to make a decision to be all in with nick, shall we. as a refresher it takes place about 3 months after this & this and is several weeks before this.
going to update my master lists tonight so that it will be easier to keep the storyline/timeline straight! I’m also thinking of making a handy, dandy timeline graphic in photoshop this weekend. :)
/////
You dropped the phone from your ear and ran down the hall of your apartment, not even bothering to change out of the sweats you were wearing as you stepped into a pair of sandals by the door. Grabbing your purse hastily you checked to make sure you had your keys before wrenching the apartment door open. You made it to your car in record time, Razor’s words echoing in your head. Nick was shot. He’s asking for you.
Nick was shot. Nick was shot. Nick was shot. That was the only thing you could focus on and as you backed out of your spot quickly, pressing your foot to the accelerator and daring someone to pull you over. At this hour Lawrence was probably on duty and by the way he’d been acting every since you started dating Nick you were willing to bet he still had a torch burning for you. That would work in your favor if he tried to pull you over, you hoped, because you weren’t stopping until you got to Nick. You raced down the street, shooting through a yellow light and taking the final turn to the club house sharply. Pulling into the lot you angled your car towards a parking spot before slamming the brakes and jumping out. You didn’t bother to lock it, if anything happened to anything in your car Nick would kill them. If he made it through the night.
Tearing into the club house you spotted a couple of craneas crying in a corner. You ignored them as the door slammed behind you, heart in your throat as you searched for a familiar face. One of the prospects came up to you, you forgot his nickname, it was something ridiculous.
“Hey, (y/n)? Razor told me to send you straight back into Nick’s room. Do you need me to—” the prospect started, but you were racing down the hall before he could even finish his sentence. The club house had several rooms in the back for members and officers and Nick rarely stayed in his here, but it was good to have in moments like this or when the club was on lockdown. Nick was much more lax about this space. You, Razor and club officers were allowed in his room in the club house. The door was closed when you got to it and you paused to knock on it first rather than just bursting inside.
“For the last time, he doesn’t need you to su—” Razor yelled through the door before wrenching it open and cutting himself abruptly when he saw your face. You spared a single thought that it sounded like you needed to have a little chat with one of the craneas later, but just raised your eyebrow in response. “Sorry, thought you were—anyway. Come in,” Razor apologized hastily and ushered you inside, closing the door firmly behind you.
A quick glance at Nick had you confused, he looked fine. Crossing the room to him you dropped your purse in the chair at his desk. Nick reached out for you, wincing in discomfort and you rushed to take his hand as you gingerly sat on the edge of the bed.
“I’m okay,” Nick said with a strained smile and you ran a hand over his hair carefully, smoothing it back.
“You were shot. You’re not okay. What’s—I don’t see. Where—” you tripped over your words in an attempt to get them out, trying to look for bandages to indicate where he’d been hit.
“Took a chunk out of my side, but I’m alright,” Nick assured you in a tired voice as he slipped his t-shirt up enough to reveal the bandage on his side. “Got the good painkillers, too,” he added with an easier smile and you clutched a hand to your chest. You turned to glare at Razor who shrank back away from your expression.
“You couldn’t have said any of that on the phone? Just, ‘Nick’s been shot and he’s asking for you’? I thought he was bleeding out!” you accused in a loud voice and Razor winced again. You huffed and shook your head at him, clenching your jaw before turning back to Nick and softening. “Who did this to you?” you asked him as you brought your hand down to the side of his neck.
“Sonny and—” Nick started and you cut him off incredulously.
“Sonny shot you?!” you asked in an alarmed voice and Nick shook his head and started again.
“No. Sonny and I were out at the warehouse checking things over. Some Caballeros came by and just started shooting. We took cover as best we could, but I got hit with a bullet. Some how managed to ride back here and he had his old lady meet us and take care of me. Just cleaned me up, threw in some stitches and then gave me the good drugs. They left about thirty minutes ago,” Nick explained and you sighed in relief even as your mind raced. Why would the Caballeros do something so reckless as to try to take out two club presidents in one night? There had to be more to the story that Nick hadn’t shared.
“Well, I’m glad you’re okay. Can’t believe it took so long for someone to think to call me. I want to be here. I’m in this Nick,” you said sincerely and he nodded and leaned forward. Meeting him in the middle you pressed a kiss to his mouth gently.
“Sorry, princesa, didn’t mean to make you worry,” he apologized softly and  you nodded and kissed him once more.
“I’ll forgive you this time,” you said as you wrapped your arms around him in a hug. “You know, you’re the perfect height for me to rest my chin on your head,” you said lightly as you rested your chin lightly on him. He chuckled and tucked in under your neck, at rest for the first time that night.

Visiting
This was inspired by @keiid‘s absolutely amazing artwork! I just had to write something after seeing it earlier. I hope you enjoy!!  Rated: G Fandom: Boku no Hero Academia Characters: Dabi, Todoroki Rei, mentions of Todoroki Fuyumi and Todoroki Natsuo.
The facility was large- larger than he’d expected it to be. But then again, considering who he was here to visit, it came as no surprise. Of-course he’d spare no expense for her. Hands shoved deep into the pockets of his jeans, he watched from across the street as the car pulled up. His heart hurt, watching as familiar snowy white hair streaked with red appeared from the front of the hospital, another head of pure white hair following after. Familiar spikes made the snowy locks stand up as the pair walked together, slowly. They were talking, he noticed, and looking rather remorseful. Then again, considering what news just broke, it was no surprise. Endeavor becoming the number one hero… It was laughable.
He took a step out of the shadow and paused, watching as Fuyumi looked up and over, turquoise hues meeting a matching pair. She looked like she recognized him for a second, before she shook her head and slid into the car. It wasn’t an Uber- no, that was one of Enji’s cars, he noted. So she was still being driven about like a princess… At least she seemed to be healthy, as did Natsuo. And Shouto… He knew how Shouto looked. He’d stared into his eyes, had taunted him as they took his friend.
Sighing, he pulled his sunglasses down to cover his eyes, pulled the black medical mask up over his nose and mouth, and made his way across the street. It was ironic that today of all days, he’d visit her the same time they would. Had he gotten here earlier, there might’ve been a small family reunion happening. That wasn’t something he wanted to deal with, not right now. Not when he was fulfilling Stain’s idea, when the League was growing in power. The closer he got to the entrance, the more anxious he began to feel. Rubbing the back of his neck, he paused outside the doors, glancing around. It’d been at least a year since the last time he’d popped in to see her, and even then, she hadn’t been in her room. So he’d left her a bouquet and left, and that was that.
Drawing in a breath, he entered the facility, grimacing at the scent of sanitizer and bleach. “I’m here to see Todoroki Rei; I’m a cousin. Seiichi.” He explained to the receptionist, who requested him to show identification. Pulling out the photoshopped ID, he slid it across the desk, and waited with baited breath as she studied it before nodding. Breath leaving him in a silent sigh of relief, he took his ID back and slid it into his wallet. “Thank you,” he murmured, walking past the receptionist’s desk and towards the elevators. The stairs would take too long, and honestly, he didn’t feel like bothering with them. Arms crossing over his chest as he waited for the elevator to descend, he studied his reflection in the metal doors. His scars were hidden, at least those on his face. It was too hot to wear a jacket or a scarf, and that’d be suspicious if he showed up dressed in a trench coat. If anything, he just looked like a burn victim.
The soft ‘ding’ of the elevator arriving drove away his thoughts as he stepped in, pressed the number 7 for her floor, and waited. The soft elevator music was annoying, but it was better than silence. The ride up was smooth; when he was younger, he used to be afraid of elevators, scared that they’d come crashing down with him inside it. The fear still lingered as it jerked to a halt, making his stomach drop and his hands shake. All but sprinting out of the elevator, he took a moment to lean against the crème colored wall, catching his breath. Fears were weird like that. The hallway was empty, thankfully, as he made his way towards her apartment door. The floors were soft carpet, muffling the sound of footfalls. A courtesy, he assumed.
Knocking twice on the door, he waited for a moment before the familiar, soft tone of her voice drifted through. “Come in,” she called, voice muffled by the thick wood of the door. Swallowing back the rush of anxiety, he turned the handle and let himself in, quietly closing the door behind him. The apartment was the same as it was last year, though he noticed a fresh bouquet sitting in her windowsill. “Did you forget something, Fu?” She asked, voice coming from the kitchen. Clearing his throat, he made his way past the entrance hall, pulling the mask and sunglasses from his face. She still hadn’t turned around, he noticed; maybe she thought he was Natsuo? That thought was swept away as she turned.
Stormy grey hues widened in surprise at the sight of him.
“… Seiichi?” She whispered, voice wavering as she stepped closer, leaving barely two feet of distance between them. Her eyes were filling with tears, he noticed. Her hair had gotten longer- well, longer than when he’d been younger. She looked better than she had in that god-forsaken house, healthy. The blue button down top she wore flattered her well.
“Hey, mom.” Dabi replied quietly, gazing down at his mother. She came to his shoulder- he really had gotten his dad’s height. He watched her as she took another shaking step forward, before she lunged, surprising him. Her arms were tight around his middle, her face pressed into his chest. He could feel her shaking, could feel tears dripping onto his chest. Slowly, he wrapped his own arms around her, face lowering to her head, breathing in the familiar scent. Cold, winter, mint. So very her. It was a comfort, to have that familiar scent fill his senses. “I’m sorry it took so long for me to visit,” he murmured, feeling her pull back.
She was smiling. Bright, but shaky. He reached up to wipe away her tears.
“You… Just missed Fuyumi and Natsuo,” she began, hiccupping part way through her sentence, though there was a hint of a laugh in her voice. “They would have loved to see you.” She sounded so sure of it, he realized. So sure…
“Yeah… I’ll have to drop by and see them. Sometime.” Clearing his throat, he moved over to the table, leaning his weight upon it. “… How’s Shouto?” He asked, as if he hadn’t just seen him months before, as if he hadn’t kidnapped his classmate and set a forest full of children ablaze. As if he hadn’t nearly killed them all.
“He’s good!” She exclaimed, shuffling over to grab the letters scattered across the table top. “He writes often. Did you know he’s taking provisional courses to become a hero? He’s doing really good at UA,” she gushed, grinning, as she held up the letters as if to say ‘see? See?’. Smile pulling at burned lips, Dabi nodded. “He’s gotten a lot stronger, too.”
“I’m sure dad would be proud,” he couldn’t help the bitter tone that seeped into his voice. “He’s still sending you flowers?” He noted, nodding towards the bouquet. Rei hummed, nodding as she gazed at the flowers for a moment.
“… You know,” she began, looking up at her son, “he’s sorry for what happened.” He couldn’t help but roll his eyes, pushing away from the table with a frown. “He wants to see you- at least, I think he would want to.”
“Do you see him?” Dabi answered with a question, brow raising. “Because you make it sound like you don’t.”
“No,” Rei replied with a shake of her head. “I’m told he visits, but I don’t ever see him. I think it’s best that way.” Best that way, he noted. So she wasn’t completely forgiving him. Good. “Your hair… Why is it black?” She asked, reaching up with hesitation, before burying her hand in his hair. He ducked his head down for her, letting her muse it.
“’S easier. Didn’t wanna look like him,” he mumbled, pulling away after a moment, watching her hands fall to her sides. “… I just wanted to make sure you’re still okay. I need to go- I… Have a flight to catch.” He lied, heart clenching as her shoulders fell. Her smile was sad, not reaching her stormy grey eyes.
“Of course… You’ll come back, won’t you? Visit sooner?” She asked, voice hopeful, making a lump form in his throat. Forcing a smile, he nodded, stepping close to pull her into his arms once more. Just a little while longer, he thought to himself.
“Yeah, I will. Don’t worry about that. I promise I’ll be back soon. America’s… Pretty cool, but Japan will always be my home.” He replied, feeling her squeeze his middle. A chuckle escaped him as he pulled away, patting her head. “… I love you, mom.”
Her eyes widened in surprise. “I love you too, Seiichi. Take care now, alright?” She smiled, and watched as he grabbed hold of the sunglasses and medical mask he’d placed down. Was he sick? He didn’t sound sick. Maybe it was allergies? When he’d been younger, he had bad allergies this time of year. The door closed behind him, and she was alone. The scent of cinnamon and spice and smoke clung to her skin, to her clothes, to the air around her.
Dabi ran a hand over his face as he quickly left the building, heading towards the old motorcycle he had parked down the street. That is, until his phone buzzed in his pocket. Pulling it out, he read over the text quickly. Brows raising, he looked up at the sky, as if he’d be able to see feathers.
Text from: Bird ‘Fireman is looking bad. Check news, Rot Boy.’
Deleting the text, he quickly tapped on the news app and began to watch the live stream, turquoise hues widening behind darkened sunglasses. The sight of Endeavor plummeting to the ground, of the blood pouring from a head wound, made his heart skip a beat. His father… No. He wasn’t his father any more. He shouldn’t feel any remorse. Eyes narrowing, he closed the app and pocketed his phone, walking with renewed vigor.
Endeavour was getting what he deserved, after the living hell he put his family through.
