This is how I picture Loki and Tony bantering.
Instead of a stoic hero and a chatty villain or a chatty hero and a stoic villian imagine if they’re both chatty. Just, the villian trying their best to kill the hero while the two of them have a in-depth discussion about their opinion of pumpkin spice

I’m totally here for the whole -
Random person: “Mr. Stark?”
Tony: “Please, call me Tony, Mr. Stark was my father.”
- trope that I see in a lot of fics, but I really wonder how that works on Asgard. Like do they go -
Random person: “Mr. Odinson?”
Thor: “Please, call me Thor, Odin is my father.”
- or???? Anyway I’ve been thinking about this for, like, an unreasonable amount of time.

Avengers as Things I’ve Said During Quarantine
Steve: Seriously, 2020, a plague??? Are you fucking kidding me??? After all we’ve been through???
Clint: You never realize how much weird shit you’re capable of until you have nothing to do for 3 months.
Stephen: I don’t know what the big deal is about social distancing. I’ve been doing it my whole life.
Scott: Well, well, well, if it isn’t my old friend, the freedom of being alone and getting to do whatever weird shit I want to without anyone around to judge me.
Tony: *after hearing that he’s supposed to avoid public places, keep people 6 feet away, and isolate in his home* Right, so business as usual then.
Peter: I can’t decide between being lazy because it’s the only rest I’ll get to have for a while, or being productive since I now have a lot of extra time, and it’s making me super anxious!!!
Shuri: I know this isn’t the point, but daaaaamn TikTok is killing it in this quarantine!
Bucky: Ahhh, an excuse to keep people from getting close to me. At last.

Fair enough. I still have to disagree, since Hammer knowingly did something wrong with an intent to harm others (i.e. the prisoner he killed, who didn’t deserve to be murdered no matter what crime he’d committed, and Tony, whose only crime towards Hammer was being smarter than him), whereas, as I said before, Tony was duped by someone he considered family and shut that shit down as soon as he found out.
But I understand the point you’re trying to make here! I still disagree with portions of it, but I get it :) we just have a difference of opinions!
The first time I head someone say “Tony Stark created all his villains” I thought “Oh my god that’s brilliant! I love it!” because I honestly love the idea of a hero who started out as a villain and is now haunted by his past in the form of people he has wronged.
So I was actually a little disappointed when I watched the movies again because Tony had a lot less influence on his villains than I had been lead to believe. He has some, but a lot of it was trivial stuff we’re all guilty of.
Terrorists
Tumblr media
Probably the closest thing to villains truly created by Tony because of malice. He was too stupid and self centered to see the pain his weapons caused these people and it took them kidnapping him to be shaken out of his entitled, drunken stupor. If not for them he would definitely have stayed a villain.
Obadiah Stane
Tumblr media
Tony was a victim of him rather than the other way around. Through it probably wasn’t intended when the first Iron Man movie came out, later movies have implied that Stane was a member of Hydra who helped arrange Tony’s parents murder, then made himself Tony’s new father figure and got to work grooming him, all so he could eventually become the owner of Stark Industries.
Ivan Vanko
Tumblr media
His beef wasn’t really with Tony but with Tony’s dad for screwing over Ivan’s dad. He basically just decided that the sons should continue their fathers’ battle and was ready to kill and maim hundreds of people to get to Tony.
Justin Hammer
Tumblr media
Just a fellow arms dealer who fell in love with Tony. In an attempt to get ahead on the marked and impress Tony he broke Ivan out of prison and realized too late how mad Ivan was. Not evil so much as stupid and I have no idea how Tony could have stopped this other than fucking Justin so he wouldn’t be so desperate for his attention.
Ultron
Tumblr media
Created by Tony from the bottom up, and his version of a knee-jerk fear reaction. The moral of Age of Ultron: don’t let people with unchecked anxiety and PTSD create weaponized robots.
Aldrich Killian
Tumblr media
Tony didn’t meet him on the roof. Killian saw this as a good reason to turn into a murderous maniac instead of, you know, chill for a second.
Trevor Slattery
Tumblr media
Does he even count?
Quentin Beck
Tumblr media
Tony didn’t credit him for his invention and called it BARF, and when Quentin confronted him about it (implied flipped the fuck out) Tony fired him for being unstable, and was proven right when this prompted Quentin to hack a plan to murder millions and take his rage out on teenage Peter Parker. Notice how in the actual scene of Tony showing off BARF nobody laughs, but when Quentin remembers it there’s a laugh track. It’s heavily implied that he saw things as way worse than they actually were and overreacted. So yes, Tony should have credited him in the first place but a calm conversation would probably have solved it instead of, oh I don’t know, trying to kill half of Europe’s population.
So I suppose you could say Tony created his own villains, but it’s a lot less impressive than it sounds.

I strongly disagree with the implication that Tony was ever a villain - he was legally making and selling weapons and was betrayed by someone he saw as family. His only “crime” was prioritizing his life outside of work over work itself. And since a lot of people on this site complain that their employers expect them to act like their work is their entire life, it seems extremely hypocritical to vilify Tony for enjoying his life outside of work and call him self-centered and stupid for it.
Further, Ultron was not all Tony’s creation - Bruce Banner worked on it too, but for some reason everyone has decided it’s Tony’s fault. And further, Quentin Beck was Tony’s employee; Tony had intellectual property rights to anything Beck made under his employ. Tony didn’t steal anything from him.
However, this demands to be reblogged because a) the implications that Justin Hammer is in love with Tony which I find really fucking funny, b) Aldrich Killian needs to “chill for a second” which is amazing because, ya know, Extremis, and c) “Does he even count” to which the answer is a resounding no

I realize this is not even close to one of my popular posts, but I’m feeling this post in this chili’s tonight, so it’s getting reblogged.
Best Ned Leeds Quotes
- He’d be all ‘good job on those spreadsheets Peter, here’s a gold coin’. I don’t know how jobs work.
- You could’ve died. Do you lay eggs?
- What does Hulk smell like? I bet he smells nice.
- Peter: I’m just going to be myself. Ned: Peter nobody wants that.
- That is literally the coolest sentence anyone has ever said. I just want to thank you for letting me be part of your journey.
- But we have a Spanish quiz?????
- I’m...looking...at porn...?
- I may not know much but I do know this: Europeans love Americans.
- He’s just going to collect tiny spoons while we’re traveling to other countries.
- Peter, those were the words of a boy, and that boy met a woman. A very strong and powerful woman. And now? That boy’s a man.
- Seriously? Getting tranqued in the neck by Nick Fury? Probably the coolest thing that ever happened to me anyway.
- Betty: is that spiderman? Ned: uhhh no, no it’s the European rip-off version. Betty: okay what’s his name??? Ned: ...uhhhhhhh Night?? Monkey????
- So the costume looks great...??? For the...costume......party? The...prince’s castle???
- So you know too. It’s cool. Uh, I mean. I’ve known first and I’ve known longer but. It’s not a competition. 😌
- Men and women grow apart, but the journey they share together? Will always be a part of them. 😇

Carol, confidently: Those weren’t coordinates - they’re state vectors.
Maria, practically rolling her eyes: You didn’t find her lab on Earth because it’s not on Earth.
Carol, breezily: That was the location on the date of the crash 6 years ago. If we track its’ course, we’ll find it in orbit right now.
Maria, derisive and extremely attractively: It’s just basic physics.
Me, a wlw science person whose brain is currently short circuiting: sure okay yeah. This is fine. I’m experiencing a normal level of attraction.
