Sirius sighs, shrugging. "Well, er, actually Mary, I've got a party to attend." Mary whirls around, glaring at him. "What?" Sirius runs a hand through his hair, looking down. "James is throwing a party, I need to go. I'm going to have to miss your show. Sorry."
Mary stares at him a moment, slowly crossing her arms. "You know what makes me crazy? I'm sorry, can I say this?" Sirius rolls his eyes. "You will anyway." "You know what makes me nuts? The fact that we could be together, HERE together. Sharing our night. Spending our time! And you're gonna choose someone else to be with!" Sirius shakes his head, reaching out to touch her shoulder. "No I'm not, Mare, it's just-" She slaps his hand away, continuing over him. "No you are, yes Sirius, that's exactly what you're doing! You could be here with me or be there with them, and as usual, guess which you pick!" Sirius shakes his head again. "No I just have to-" Mary scoffs, talking louder to drown him out. "No! You do not have to go to another party with the same twenty jerks you already know!" Sirius opened his mouth to interrupt again, but Mary's began shouting. "You could stay with your girlfriend on her fucking birthday! You could, God forbid, even see my show! And I know, in your soul, it must drive you crazy that you won't get to play with your little boyfriends!" She takes a breath, and Sirius uses it to interrupt. "You're being ridiculous."
Mary scoffs at him again, hand twitching as if she wants to slap him. "No, I'm not. No! I'm not! The point is, Sirius, that you can't spend a single day that's not about you! And you! And nothing but you! Marvelous, Marauder you! Isn't he great, just 18! The saviour of singing! You and you and nothing but you! Miles and piles of you!"
She reaches up, brushing a tear off her cheek before pulling the promise ring off her finger. She throws it into the lake behind them. "I swear to God, I don't understand how you can just stand there straight and tall and see I'm crying! And do nothing at all!" With that, she shoves past him, storming back up the path to the opera house.
Sirius stares after, not quite understanding what's happened, when his phone rings. He pulls it out of his pocket, accepting the call from Remus.
"Hello?" he mumbles into it. "Hey, you're still coming tonight right? I've got a surprise." Sirius's stomach flips at the thought of what the surprise might be. "Yes, yeah. On my way now. See you in a bit, darling."

But i do also wanna request a jealous reader to james or remus, I'm genuinely curious as to how they'll handle that and what will they do to satiate reader
Thank you, sweetheart! Love you <3
James Potter x fem!reader ♡ 2.1k words
James looks especially sightly today, his brown skin gleaming in the sun and hair stuck slick to his forehead. He’s shirtless, which is always a treat, muscled abdomen sometimes distorted beneath the pool water and sometimes slipping above, inadvertently teasing, and his shoulders look especially strapping with Lily’s pale thighs seated atop them.
You really like Lily. You’re quite disappointed in yourself, actually, for the hot flash of malice that goes through you when she burrows her manicured fingers in your boyfriend’s hair, laughing about losing her balance. James moves his grip from her knees up to her thighs, promising he’s got her. Something foul and warmish curdles in your gut.
On the other side of the pool, Sirius and Remus advance like a totem pole with two wildly different faces, one menacing and the other reluctant. They’d asked if you wanted to play chicken, but getting pushed and shoved by Sirius isn’t your idea of a good time. You figured you’d be more content here, sitting on the edge of the pool with your feet kicking idly in the cool water, but now you can see how it does sort of look like a couples activity, Sirius atop Remus’ shoulders and Lily on James’. It’s no secret that James had pined after Lily for years. It was back in their school days, before you met him, but it’s been brought up a few times in a teasing way that’s made it clear to you that everyone knew how he felt about her. You wonder if Lily ever thinks about it. If she’s assured, consciously or not, that she could have him back at any time of her choosing. It’s not something you love to dwell upon.
The pairs are fairly evenly matched. Sirius fights dirty, splashing water up at Lily and trying to unhook one of her knees from around James’ shoulder, but Remus can’t be bothered to participate and looks like he’d be just as happy to be pushed over and call it done. Lily, meanwhile, isn’t as creative a fighter and is only shoving at Sirius’ shoulders, but James provides a strong base. His fingers dig into the soft flesh of her legs, calling up encouragements and occasionally freeing a hand to pinch upwards at Sirius’ side. Sirius shrieks and swears at this, claiming that it’s against the rules. Eventually, Remus gets tired of supporting his boyfriend’s weight and feigns a fall back into the water. Sirius squawks as he goes down, and Lily and James cheer and high-five before he helps her dismount with far more grace.
You clap and smile like a good girlfriend. James beams as he swims over to you. Sometimes looking at James’ smile at full capacity is a bit like looking at the sun, and you feel like you need some special glasses to gaze directly at it. This is one of those times.
He takes your calf in his big hand and leans his cool cheek on your warm knee and makes you feel like the most special girl in the world, and you can’t stop thinking that Lily probably knows this exact feeling.
You make extra sure to be nice to Lily on your way out later that evening, guilty and vexed with yourself for the way you’ve been thinking about her, and James waves a friendly goodbye to the group as you both step outside.
Instantly, his arm is around your shoulders, pulling you into his warmth. James was prepared for the nighttime chill, pulling a sweatshirt out of his bag as soon as the sun set, whereas you’re in a tank top and shorts that have grown damp from your swimsuit. You lean into him gratefully.
“Did you have a good time today?” he asks.
“Mhm.”
“Yeah?” He tilts his head a bit, looking down at your face. “You seemed a bit off.”
You shrug. You should’ve expected James would notice. “I guess I just wished I’d participated more.”
He makes a contemplative humming sound. “You don’t mean that you think people didn’t want you to participate, right? They love you, angel, you know that.”
“No, I…” You want to say I know, but you’re worried you’ll sound conceited. You never usually second-guess yourself like this around James. You sort of hate it. “I just didn’t realize that if I said no to playing chicken, Lily was going to be your partner instead.”
He’s quiet for a second. Something in your gut twists uneasily.
“I thought you liked Lily.”
“I do.”
“Are you jealous?”
“No.”
You answer without thinking, because whatever you might be feeling right now, you are not a jealous person. You won’t be that kind of girlfriend. The breeze picks up, and goosebumps prickle down your arms, making you shiver.
“Are you cold?” James asks.
You know he’s going to want to give you his sweatshirt, and you really can’t be taking things from him right now. “I’m alright.”
“You know you’ve got nothing to worry about with Lily,” he tells you, thumb brushing softly over the skin of your bare shoulder. It should be reassuring, but suddenly you’re thinking about how this same hand looked so comfortable wrapped around Lily’s thigh. You step out from under his arm, crossing your arms as casually as you can against the chill.
“I’m not worried,” you reply.
James looks perplexed, and also a little dubious. The thought of him not believing you, even if you are lying, fills you with a burning indignation.
“I just don’t see why you had to be touching her so much,” you say. “You could’ve looked a bit less eager.”
He actually laughs at that, but the look on your face stops him quickly. “Sorry, but did you really think I looked eager?” he asks, a little smile still teasing the corners of his lips like you’re a child he has to talk down from a fit. “That’s just part of the game, sweetheart.”
The way he says it, sweetheart, suddenly feels less affectionate and more like a placation. Condescending. Heat builds behind your eyes, and you realize with horror that you feel like you might actually cry. You’ve never felt so distant from James. Not even when you’d first started dating.
You pick up your pace, staying ahead to keep him from seeing your face. “You didn’t have to touch her legs so much,” you huff.
“That’s just how it works!” he laughs, incredulous.
You roll your eyes, and James lengthens his stride to catch up to you.
“So let me get this straight,” he says. He sounds more serious than before, which you thought you’d wanted but now you’re not so sure. Your heart trembles. “You wanted me to throw the whole game to just avoid touching my friend’s legs?”
“She wasn’t always your friend,” you remind him.
“Yes, she was.”
You don’t know how to respond to that. From a factual standpoint, he’s not wrong, but you know that Lily was more than that in James’ head for quite some time. He can’t boil it down to something so simple.
The silence stretches out between you, ice-thin and just as cold. Then you shudder again, and James sets a hand on your shoulder. It’s only there for a second before he retracts it, as if unsure what he’s allowed. Your heart throbs.
“You are cold,” he says, and his tone is doting teetering on the brink of accusatory. He grabs the hem of his sweatshirt. “Here, have—”
“I don’t want your sweatshirt,” you say sharply.
James pauses. “Why not?”
“I just don’t.”
“Sweetheart, you’re cold.”
“So what?” You cross your arms harder, trying to hide your trembling under the guise of general agitation. “That’s not what we’re talking about.”
“What are we talking about?” he asks you. “How I let Lily sit on my shoulders as part of a game and now I’ll surely leave you for her?”
Even as a joke, it stings. “Would you?”
“Of course not!” His hands spread out in front of him, helpless. “What do you want me to do? Should I just never be friends with another girl again?”
“No, it’s not—it’s not that.” Your eyes burn. You’re frustrated with him for intentionally missing the point, and frustrated with yourself for needing his reassurance in the first place. “I just want to know that you’d pick her over me.”
“I have!”
“You didn’t pick, James.” Your breathing is starting to sound ragged. The words taste acidic in your mouth. “She picked for you.”
“Angel, that was ages ago.” James softens his voice, likely hearing the tears in yours. “I don’t see her that way anymore. She was right, we wouldn’t have worked together.”
“But how can you know that?” Your voice breaks just as a harsh shiver goes through you, and you wrap your arms more tightly around yourself.
“Alright, that’s enough.” You don’t have to turn around to hear that James has stopped walking behind you, his footsteps halting. Reluctantly, you slow in response but don’t turn around, waiting to see what he’s doing. “Come here.” When you don’t move, his voice hardens into a tone you don’t hear often. “Come here.”
You turn around, more curious than anything, and James has taken his sweatshirt off. He tugs it over your head before you can say anything.
“James!” you protest, squirming, but his hold is strong. He manages to wrestle your torso in and get one of your arms into a sleeve before he seems to decide that’s good enough and leaves you be.
“Quit being so stubborn,” he says, still in that same tone. You stop trying to get the sweatshirt off immediately, hands dropping to your sides. James has never been so stern with you before. You don’t quite know how to react. “You’re freezing, and your hair’s still wet. There’s no sense in suffering through it just because you want to have a row.”
“I don’t want to,” you tell him, but your words sound petulant even to your own ears.
“Then listen.” He takes your jaw in hand, setting his eyes on yours. “I do not want to be in a relationship with Lily. I thought I did once, but I don’t anymore.” He waits a second, making sure this sinks in, before his voice softens. “I’m going to be friends with girls. That’s just…that’s the way I’ve always been. But I’m with you because I’m happiest with you, and this isn’t going to work if you don’t trust me.”
You nod, suddenly flooded with self loathing. A tear skids down your face when you blink. “I’m sorry. It’s not about…I do trust you, I promise. I don’t know what’s wrong with me today.”
“Honey,” James murmurs. The tear lands on his index finger, and his face pinches like it stings. “Listen, if I saw some guy with his hands all over you, I’d—”
“In a bathing suit,” you add tearfully.
“With his hands all over you in a bathing suit,” he amends, “I’d probably be upset too. But you’ve got to tell me these things, you know? If you’d brought it up at the time, I could’ve told you I don’t feel that way about Lily and maybe you would’ve had a better afternoon.”
“I didn’t want to be the jealous girlfriend,” you admit. “I really do like Lily, I didn’t mean to accuse either of you of anything.”
“I think…I think some amount of jealousy has to be normal,” James says, brows bunched pensively even as his finger strokes at your cheek. “We’re each other’s, you know? It’s just letting it get in your head that’s the problem. If you’re thinking I’d pursue someone else while I’m with you, that doesn’t reflect very well on me.”
You shake your head, leaning away from James’ hand to wipe your nose. “I don’t really. I know you’d be—you’d at least be nice about it. You’d tell me.”
Pain etches itself into the indent between your boyfriend’s brows. He takes your face between both hands now, looking into your eyes determinedly. “I love you,” he says, bending to press a firm kiss between your brows. “Understand?”
You wrap your arms around his middle, pushing past his face to tuck your head under his chin. “I love you too.” Your voice is ardent if a bit wobbly, tears that feel more like a reaction to a past fright than anything else still moving sluggishly down your face. “I’m sorry.”
“It’s forgiven, sweetheart.” James’ big palm comes to rest between your shaking shoulder blades, scrubbing up and down firmly. “Let’s get home, yeah?”

He was only supposed to walk her back to her dorm building, but then it started raining. There was no way she was going to let him walk back to his dorm building with the pouring rain. So he stepped inside, it was innocent until it wasn’t.
She wasn’t sure how it happened but his lips were sucking the skin right above her collarbone as his hands were massaging her breast through the lace of her bra. She panted hard as she pulled her fingers through the thickness of his curls.
He lifted his head and looked down towards her, a smile on his lips as he kissed her urgently. “Is this okay?” he asked as he looked deeply into her eyes.
“Very,” she muttered before she sealed her lips over his once more. She tugged at the hem of his black button up. He stood up as he began unbuttoning it, a wide toothy grin on his lips as he looked over her gorgeous frame. She bit her lip excitedly as he leaned towards her again, the shirt completely unbuttoned, his muscles in full view. He kissed her lips briefly before he flung the shirt away from his body.
Her hands wrapped around the base of his neck, running her fingers through his curls as he kept one hand beside her head as he was holding himself up and his other hand was gripping her hip.  He slowly pulled his lips from hers, meeting her gaze for a brief second as he began to trail wet kisses from her jawline and lower and lower on her body. He wanted to taste every part of her and she wanted to feel his tongue on every single part of her body.
The rest of the night went by in a blurr. She never thought that her longest friend, her best friend, would be in her bed doing things she could only allow her mind to go. But he did and it was the best sex she ever had.
She woke up to see him already awake and staring towards the ceiling. She smiled softly as she looked towards him, but the frown on his lips slipped the smile off of hers instantly.
“Are you okay?” she asked as she rubbed her hand across her eyes.
“I’m sorry,” he mumbled as he stood up searching the room for his shirt and pants that he came into her room wearing. His boxers the only thing covering his frame, “We were drunk, we shouldn’t have done that, I’m sorry,”
“Well yeah but what if we could be-”
He pulled his jeans up his frame, quickly buttoning them as he avoided her gaze. “You’re the last person I wanted to have a drunken hookup with, I’m sorry.” he said while shaking his head. He picked his shirt up from the floor as he covered his frame, “Can we talk about this later? I’m running late for practice,” he offered as he quickly slipped on his shoes and left the dorm room.
She sat up straight, feeling her eyes well up in tears. It was as if her heart completely shattered at that moment. All she has ever wanted was to be something more with Luke. She was madly in love with him and maybe that was her turning point, last night. She thought maybe that meant he was in love with her too.
That was five months ago. They never spoke about it again, rarely saw each other again. Luke had moved to New Jersey to pursue his dream of playing in the NHL. They only briefly saw each other during passing at school before he left. She avoided him the entire time and it felt like he was avoiding her too.
Except today was the first day that she was going to see him again. A few years ago, the older Hughes brother’s bought the lakehouse that was directly next to their longest family friends growing up. Y/N and her family. She was driving her own car towards her lakehouse, like she’s done since she was sixteen. Except the entire time she was filled with dread as her boyfriend, Kyle, was sitting in the passenger seat beside her.
They had only been together for three months but her parents agreed to let him join and she was excited to spend the time with Kyle but also hating the idea that she would have to see Luke and Kyle in the same room.
She nervously tapped her fingers against the steering wheel as they pulled into her spot in the garage as it was big enough to hold two spots.
“So these guys that own the place next door, are we going to be seeing them a lot?” Kyle asked as he unbuckled his seatbelt. Y/N widened her eyes slightly as she forced a smile.
“They should be inside right now actually,” Y/N mumbled as she reluctantly unbuckled her seatbelt. She didn’t want to see Luke again, except every part of her body felt weak knowing he was only a few doors away.
“Good, I mean it’s good to meet them now,” he muttered as he pushed the passenger door open and climbed out of the car. She followed in pursuit. He waited for her at the door to enter her house with a kind smile. She returned it as she wrapped her arms around his chest giving him a quick hug.
“I’m excited to spend the next few weeks with you,” she mumbled against her chest. He kissed the side of her head before he pulled away. They stepped inside the house, “Can you actually put our suitcases and stuff in my room, right over there?” she asked, suddenly wanting to see the brothers by herself first.
Kyle nodded excitedly before he stepped out of the door towards the car again. Y/N took a deep breath as she walked through the hallway leading towards her kitchen.
The three boys were hanging out around the kitchen island. Quinn was sitting on a barstool chair holding a seltzer against his lips. Jack was sitting on the countertop staring at his phone. Luke was leaning against the countertop as he was snacking on some of the chips her mother probably set up for them.
“You guys do realize your house is next door right?” she said as she walked towards the kitchen.
Quinn turned around and smiled widely when he saw her walking towards the three of them. Jack hopped off of the counter as he chuckled. Luke turned his gaze towards her and looked as if he saw a ghost. He stayed frozen as he watched her walk towards them.
“Your mom buys the best snacks,” Quinn said excitedly as he engulfed her in a tight hug. “How’ve you been?” he asked as he rested his hand onto her upper arm, surveying her features. Jack jogged towards her hugging her tightly, she laughed as she rocked back and forth with him.
“I’ve been doing good, how are you guys?” she said as Jack pulled away. She glanced towards Luke, who hasn’t taken his eyes off of her since she stepped inside the house.
“Off season started a bit early but otherwise we’re great, ready for some sun,” Quinn muttered as he pulled Y/N to his side again, Quinn looked towards Luke for a few seconds, “Lukey, are you going to say hi?” Quinn offered tilting his head to the side.
Luke shook his head slightly as he stood up from his leaning position and he took a deep breath as he began walking towards her and Quinn slowly.
“Well, actually I should go check on Kyle. Make sure he didn’t get lost,” she slipped from Quinn’s grasp as she started walking away from them.
“Kyle?” Luke let out. Y/N spun around to meet Luke’s gaze. She widened her eyes as she nodded.
“My boyfriend? Did my mom not tell you guys he was joining us for a few weeks out here?” she offered.
“Y/N?” Kyle called out from the back hallway. She forced a smile as she searched down the hall for him.
“Hey baby,” she said as she stepped into her bedroom, her voice echoing into the kitchen.
“Kyle?” Jack let out barely above a whisper, his face scrunched up in disgust. “Did you know she had a boyfriend?” Jack pointed his question to Luke. Luke crossed his arms over his chest as he shook his head. Jack stared towards him furrowing his eyebrows harshly, “Why are you acting weird?”
“I’m not,” he mumbled before he started shoving more chips in his mouth. Quinn and Jack shared a look before they decided to drop it.
Y/N and Kyle walked from the hallway together side by side. Hearing his heavy footsteps, Luke kept his gaze on the sour cream and onion chips in front of him as he continued to snack. Y/N nervously wrapped her arm around Kyle as she walked towards the kitchen.
“Kyle, these are the boys,” she muttered motioning towards them, “That’s Quinn, Jack, and that’s L-Luke,” she pointed out each of the guys individually. Quinn and Jack walked towards the pair, each of them forcing a smile.
“Nice to meet you,” Quinn offered his hand and Kyle gladly took it. Kyle offered his hand towards Jack and he reluctantly took the handshake.
Luke leaned upward from his leaning position as he slowly walked towards the small group. Y/N looked towards him, their eyes meeting for the first time in months. Her breath caught in her throat as she forced her gaze to meet Kyle.
Kyle offers his hand to Luke and Luke shakes his hand with a polite smile. “You go to UMich?” Luke asked as he rested his hands on his hips.
Kyle nodded, “Yeah, I’m on the wrestling team,” he smiled as he spoke.
“That’s sick,” Quinn offered as he crossed his arms over his chest.
The small group continued to talk to one another beside Luke. He kept watching Y/N, his longest friend, his best friend. The woman he loved, in a relationship with someone else. The last time they hung out crossed his mind, like it did a thousand times a day.
He freaked out. He freaked out when he woke up with her back pressed against his chest and their legs entangled together. His heart swelled with so much happiness as he looked at her sleeping beside him that morning, except every other part of his body resorted to panic.
His eyes meet Y/N’s gaze, scanning her features for any sign that she thinks about that night too. She clenched her jaw before she turned her gaze back to Quinn. Luke pulled his lips between his teeth as he dropped his gaze to the floor.
“I’m going to go unpack my stuff,” Luke let out as his gaze met each person in the small room. Quinn pulled his head back as he let out a breathy chuckle.
“You never unpack when we come here,” Quinn offered.
“Feel like using my dresser for once,” he said with a simple shrug before glancing towards Y/N one more time before he started walking out of the kitchen.
“We should probably unpack too,” Kyle said as he rested his hand on her hip as he held her possessively to his side. Y/N nodded as the pair walked back towards her room, she spun her gaze around towards the back door that Luke walked out of.
Quinn and Jack looked towards each other awkwardly as they both started walking out of the back door. “They’re acting weird, right?” Jack asked.
“Very,” Quinn shot back as they walked out of the house back towards their own.
After another twenty minutes Quinn and Jack both barged into Luke’s room to see him actually unpacking his clothes and putting them into his dresser and closet. He had soft country music playing as he was pacing around the room putting things in random spots.
“Are you okay?” Jack asked as he watched his younger brother. Luke only hummed as a reply as he added his hoodies to a coat hanger. “Are you sure? You and Y/N never shut up when you two are together.” Jack observed.
“We haven’t really talked these past few months,” he said as he walked towards his closet with the six hoodies he brought with him.
“You guys used to never go a day without at least calling each other,” Quinn mumbled.
Luke shrugged, “Things change,” he said keeping his gaze low and away from his brothers bombarding him with questions.
“What things?” Jack muttered. Luke shrugged his shoulders again.
Quinn furrowed his eyebrows harshly, “What, you guys hook up or something?” he asked teasingly, chuckling nervously.
Luke froze, his entire body stuck as he slowly met Quinn’s gaze for a few seconds before he shook his head. “No,” he let out barely above a whisper. He dropped his gaze again as his cheeks turned bright red.
Jack’s eyes widened as his mouth dropped open as he shoved Quinn to the side. “When?!” Jack asked as he jumped up excitedly.
“I said we didn’t,” Luke said as he nervously ran his hand across his chin.
Quinn smiled widely, “Yeah but you're a horrible liar, Lukey. What happened? Was it bad or something?”
It was the opposite. It was probably the best sex he’s ever had. It made him realize how much love he actually had for her as they didn’t just hook up. It felt like the start of something, a new chapter. A chapter where they were madly in love with one another.
“What? No,” he defended as he rolled his eyes.
“Then what happened?” Jack pressed.
Luke sighed as he shook his head, “I don’t know, I asked if we could talk about it later and we never did,” he took another deep breath.
“When did you guys-?” Quinn trailed off.
Luke threw his hands to the side, not wanting to talk about it any longer, “February, her sorority had some Valentine’s Day event we went to together. I walked her back to her dorm and we hooked up. Are you guys done asking questions?”
“No, dude, why didn’t you guys talk again?”
Luke clenched his jaw as he shook his head. His brothers were right, he was an awful liar. “I freaked out, okay?” he took a deep breath, “She’s my best friend and instead of telling her how I felt, I had sex with her while we were drunk. That’s a dickhead move. I just didn’t know what to say,”
“What’d you freak out about?” Jack asked.
“Everything was going to be different with her,” he let out while shaking his head, “I didn’t want to lose her, if I fucked things up and I fucked things up anyway. Can we please stop talking about it? I don’t want to be thinking about it while we all on the boat later,”
~~~
It was nine at night and the sun was already down but they were still hanging out on the boat. The music was loud to the point where you could only hear the person next to each other talk. Her parents were sitting and talking with Quinn and Jack as Ellen and Jim were talking with Luke. Y/N and Kyle were in their own world.
Except every time Luke spoke, Y/N felt her heart flutter. She missed him, she missed him so much that it was physically painful. Her chest would ache hard at the idea of not talking with him.
Y/N kept her gaze on Luke, discreetly. “You okay?” Kyle whispered into her ear, pulling her gaze towards him. She nodded as she leaned towards him, kissing him briefly.
Luke was tuning out whatever his mom and dad were talking about as he saw Y/N kissing Kyle. He felt as though his heart shattered. He clenched his jaw as he dropped his gaze towards his lap. Quinn glanced towards Y/N briefly before he looked towards his youngest brother. He clenched his jaw as he shook his head.
“You know,” her mother leaned towards Quinn, “I always thought Y/N and Luke would’ve ended up together.” Quinn's eyes widened as he looked towards her, “It just seems like they are growing apart. Breaks my heart,” she said as she tilted her head to the side.
“You don’t like Kyle?” Quinn asked, and she shrugged.
“He’s a sweet boy. He’s just not our Luke,”
“I think we all thought they were going to end up together,” Quinn whispered towards her and she nodded.
~~~
The next day, Y/N and Kyle stayed in bed for a few extra hours just basking in each other's company. “You know, I thought you and Luke were the closest? I mean being the same age at least,”
She was thrown off by the sudden subject change as her face scrunched up slightly. She cleared her throat as she nodded, “We were,” she started as she saw Kyle take in a sharp breath. “He was my best friend, but we had a falling out a few months ago,” she mumbled.
Memories of the night in question flashed in her mind. His lips against her own as they were breathing heavily and grinding against each other's bodies. She recalled feeling her body fill with butterflies as he kissed her in the most dream-like way.
“What happened?” he asked. She looked into his dark brown eyes as she tried to figure out if she should tell the truth. Kyle nodded slightly as he took in a deep breath, “Let me guess,” he mumbled, “You guys had sex?”
She clenched her jaw as she nodded slightly. “How’d you know?” she muttered as she met his gaze.
“I don’t know, it’s the way he looks at you; like he’s seen you naked or something,” he mumbled, a dry chuckle leaving his throat. She smiled softly as she rolled her eyes playfully.
“It just made things awkward between us, we haven’t spoken since it happened,” she let out. He remained silent as he processed, “Are you mad that I didn’t tell you?” she asked.
“No, I mean as long as it was just sex. Like you didn’t have feelings for him, right?” he asked.
“Yeah, no-no feelings,” she mumbled.
~~~
She sat on the bathroom counter, his legs between her own. She adjusted the red heart around his neck that had her name written in cursive across it. “I never thought you would join a sorority,” he let out as he rested one of his hands on her thigh. She smiled as a chuckle fell from her lips.
“It looks good on a resume,” she mumbled as she took a hold of a spray bottle and started spraying it onto his curls. His face scrunched up together as some of the mist hit his face.
“This is tacky,” he continued, holding up the heart around his neck. She smirked as she took a hold of some of her own hair product and ran her fingers through his hair. “Do we have to wear these the whole night?”
“Yes, Lukey,” she mumbled as she tilted her head to the side as she admired the work she did on his hair. “And until I get a boyfriend, you have to be my date to these things,” she said as she pushed him backwards slightly so she could hop off the bathroom counter.
She adjusted the short black dress on her frame as she looked towards the mirror. She straightened out the red heart with Luke’s name. “What are we even going to do there?” he asked as he ran his fingers through his own hair.
“Drink, dance, and take lots of photos,” she mumbled as she applied lip gloss to her lips. Luke eyed her lips as she added the clear gloss. “It’ll be fun,” she mumbled as she turned to meet his gaze.
He huffed as he smiled, “You and I have different definitions of fun,” he mumbled. She rolled her eyes playfully as she took a hold of her phone and pulled out her camera. “Oh awesome, fun’s starting now,” he said sarcastically.
“You can be unbearable sometimes, you know that?” she let out teasingly as she wrapped her arm around the center of his back as he draped his arm around her lowerback. He pulled her tightly towards him.
“Yeah, you too,” he shot back as he turned his head towards her with a teasing smile. She rolled her eyes as she snapped the photo of them at that moment.
“Smile,” she mumbled as she turned her gaze towards the mirror and snapped a few photos of them. Most of them are Luke glancing towards her the entire time.
~~~
Later that night, Y/N stepped foot inside her own lakehouse, getting another drink from the fridge inside when she saw Luke sitting on the barstool beside her kitchen island. He lifted his gaze as he tossed a few chips into his mouth. His eyes scanned her body. Taking note of every single curve of her frame and how the two piece swimsuit showed every perfect part of her body.
“Hi,” she let out as she smiled softly. He returned the soft smile as he sat up straight as she walked past the kitchen island.
“Hey,” he mumbled as he nervously ran his fingers through his hair. They remained silent as she took a Truly from the fridge and cracked it open. She spun around and met his gaze. “Kyle seems nice,” he mumbled. She smiled.
“Yeah, he is,” she muttered as she brought the can to her lips.
Their eyes remained connected as they remained silent for a few seconds. His eyes were soft and welcoming; he looked like he knew what she was thinking. All of things that have been left unsaid between them, it was as if their eyes were doing all the talking. Her heart went into overdrive.
Her eyes tried not to admire his body. His abs were prominent as well as the strong arm muscles. She took a deep breath as she rested her hands onto the counter.
“How’s the NHL?” she asked. His eyes widened as he smiled softly.
“It’s amazing,” he mumbled, his eyes squinting slightly.
“You were fun to watch,” she let out as she met his gaze. He tilted his head to the side, a toothy grin on his lips.
“You watched the games?” he asked, genuinely shocked. She nodded dramatically.
“You are still my best friend, Luke, Of course I was going to watch,” she mumbled as she met his gaze as she walked closer to him. He blinked his eyes rapidly as he looked away from her.
“You seem happy,” he mumbled, unable to maintain eye contact with her.
“Yeah, yeah.” she let out while shaking her head, “You too. I mean you’re living the dream, right?”
All he could do was hum as a reply as she was only a foot away from him and his chest was aching as he felt a magnet pulling her towards him but he tried to refuse the feeling and the desperation.
“Why are you all alone inside? We’ve got an amazing bonfire going,” she asked as she leaned against the countertop.
He couldn’t tell her the real answer. The real answer was that he had spent twenty-four hours watching Y/N and Kyle snuggle together and he was getting tired of it. He couldn’t breathe watching them because he wanted to kiss her cheek. He wanted to be the one holding her tightly. He wanted to be the one who loved her. He had to walk away and collect his thoughts.
While outside, Quinn was laughing at something Jack said when Kyle walked up to him. “Hey man, can I talk to you about something?” Kyle asked. Quinn’s smile slowly faded as he glanced towards Jack before he stood up and followed Kyle towards a secluded part of the backyard. Quinn nervously crossed his arms over his chest as he met Kyle’s gaze. “I’m gonna ask you a question and you’re going to not sugar coat anything,” Kyle asked. Quinn nodded.
“I’m not blind, alright? I know that your little brother has feelings for Y/N. She told me about what happened between them a few months back but she said that she didn’t have feelings for him. Is she telling the truth?” Kyle asked.
Quinn took a deep breath as he licked his lips nervously. “We’re all close with Y/N. Jack and I have always treated her like she’s our little sister. Luke-”
Quinn took in a sharp breath, “Luke’s been in love with her since he was eleven. He never wanted to act on it because he was terrified of losing her. Y/N was harder to see if she felt the same. Well, until they were like fifteen and they started cuddling all of the time. It was as if they constantly had to be near each other or the other one would implode. She dragged him to all of the school dances and sorority events.” he explained as Kyle was getting impatient.
“Look, they're avoiding each other because they are afraid of getting hurt. Which is causing them to get hurt anyway. You seem like a great guy, who would’ve been perfect for her. But there’s a lot of history between them that can’t be ignored,”
Kyle remained silent as he took a deep breath. If he was being honest, he knew she wasn’t all in. He wasn’t even all in on the relationship either, it didn’t hurt to hear as much as he thought it was going to be.
“I appreciate it, man.” Kyle mumbled as his gaze looked past Quinn to see Luke and Y/N walking out of the house together. Kyle let out a dry chuckle, “Can you tell her why I left? I’m going to pack my stuff and call an Uber.” Kyle mumbled.
“What? You sure?” Quinn asked.
“Like you said, they’ve got history. I’m not stepping between that,” he said as he looked towards Y/N and Luke again. “Make sure they end up together, alright?” he said before he walked towards the house discreetly.
Quinn stood still, his gaze on the dirt beneath his feet. “What the fuck just happened?” he asked himself as he walked back towards the bonfire.
After another hour, Kyle was long gone and Y/N still had no idea. “Alright, you guys we’re going to go to bed, see you guys in the morning,” Her father expressed to everyone, the parents all went to their own lakehouse leaving the boys and Y/N alone.
“Where’d Kyle go? Have you guys seen him?” she asked the three of them as she was starting to get a little worried.
Quinn’s eyes widened as he cleared his throat, “He left,” is all he said. Luke perked upward at the mention.
“What?” she let out.
“He-uh-he’s not as comfortable as he thought with you and Luke’s history. So he left,” Quinn said as his voice progressively got quieter. Luke kept shifting his gaze between Quinn and Y/N. She furrowed her eyebrows harshly as she leaned forward.
“Did he tell you this history exactly?” she questioned, glancing at Luke for a second.
“He might’ve,” he mumbled, glancing towards Luke, “Kinda already knew about it, though.”
Y/N eyes flashed red as she turned her gaze towards Luke. “Can I talk to you?” she asked, standing up and walking towards Hughes's lakehouse. Luke’s room was on the second floor and his parents room was on the first. In her lakehouse her room was directly next to her parents.
Luke slowly stood up from his seat, “Thanks,” he said sarcastically as he followed Y/N. Jack and Quinn shared a glance before they looked back towards the dying flame.
Once Luke stepped into the house, he saw her already storming up the stairs towards his room. He took a deep breath as he skipped several steps to follow her faster. She walked into his room and began to pace back and forth. Luke shut the door behind him.
“You told Quinn!?” she called out.
“An-and Jack, I’m sorry. I wasn’t trying to! You know I’m a bad liar,”
“What did you tell them exactly?!” she questioned.
He stayed quiet for a second as his heart was loud in his ear, “Quinn made a joke about us hooking up and I-I didn’t deny it that good so they found out. I told them that we just didn’t talk afterwards, we were just avoiding each other,” he explained.
Her mouth fell open as she nodded slowly. Her tongue pushed to the side of her mouth as she spun around to look away from him for a brief second.
“Do you remember what you told me the next morning?” she asked, her voice quieter.
He met her gaze and squinted his eyes slightly, “That I was running late to practice and if we could talk about it later?”
“Before that,”
He thought about it for a second, he replayed every second of that morning in his mind but the words were not coming to his mind. She took a deep breath as she clenched her fist and unclenched it. “You said that I was the last person you’d ever want to have a hookup with. Like-like it was embarrassing to have sex with me,”
His eyes widened as he felt like punching himself in the chest. “Oh my god-no that’s not-”
“You hurt me, Luke!” she shouted towards him, her eyes welling up in tears.
“I thought-I thought,” she shook her head again, “I don’t know what I thought but that was horrible to hear. Especially from you! You were supposed to be my best friend.” she shouted towards him.
“That’s not what I meant!” he said loudly, “That not what I meant,” he let out softer as he stepped towards her, almost reaching out to touch her.
“You know, I cared a lot about Kyle! We could’ve been something great. He was sweet and charming and he would’ve never said that to me but you-you ruined that!” she shouted as she stared deeply into his eyes. The tension was rising between them as they were only a foot apart.
“Well, if you care about the guy so much why aren’t you going after him?! Huh? Why are you standing here, shouting at me?!” he countered, getting closer to her face. She clenched her jaw as her heart was beating hard against her chest. Her skin felt hot as if steam was leaving her body.
“I don’t know!” she shouted back as her eyes looked deeply into his eyes. His eyes were staring hard back towards her.
“You didn’t deserve our first time together to be a drunken hook up,” he expressed, taking another step towards her. “You deserved roses and candles and all that sappy romantic shit not some dorm bed we barely fit on,” he continued as he scanned her softening features.
“Luke-”
“I couldn’t tell you I loved you, I couldn’t tell you because I was scared I was going to lose my best friend. And then I fucked up and lost you anyway,” he explained as they were mere inches apart now. “You deserved better than that and I couldn’t face it,” he mumbled.
She leaned towards him, urgently kissing him. She wrapped her arms around his neck as she felt her body jump against him.
He quickly took a hold of her lower back pulling her towards him. The tension between them only increased as their lips remained connected sloppily.
She jumped up and wrapped her legs around his waist. Her bare thighs against his body rushed goosebumps against her skin.
He delicately laid her down onto his bed as his lips pulled away from hers briefly, admiring her features from the very short distance.
“I love you too,” she mumbled as she ran her fingers through the ends of his curls. He pecked her lips briefly before he leaned fully away from her. “Where are you going?” she asked barely above a whisper.
“We’re not doing this now,” he muttered as shook his head. He stood up from the bed and walked towards his closet to give her some clothes to sleep in. Instead of the swimwear still covering her frame.
“Why not?” she asked, pouting slightly. He smiled widely as he tossed her one of his hoodies and a pair of shorts she left at his dorm several months back.
“Candles and roses,” he mumbled as he covered his frame in one of his hoodies. She smiled widely as she began to put on the clothes he handed her.

What Prank?
Laundry Day (Loki x female reader Y/N)
How Could This Not Fit?! (Loki x fem reader Y/N)
Loads of a Fun (Bucky x female reader Y/N)
Pairing: Bucky x female reader (Y/N)
Summary: You and Bucky plan a week's worth of pranks to get back at Sam for telling Bucky the toaster was voice activated. A few days in, several members of the team decide to join in on the pranks without even questioning who is behind it.
A/N: So in Laundry Day (linked above) I wrote an off hand little comment about how much laundry Bucky needed to do and it led to Loads of Fun (also linked above). In that one, I mentioned a joke Sam pulled on Bucky and based on a poll I did, people wanted Bucky to get back at him so here we are 💚
This is not the same Y/N from Laundry Day & How Could This Not Fit?!, this is a different one. Apparently a bunch of women in the Tower have the same name as you (haha sorry that's dumb but I wanted them both to be Y/N fics so here we are)

Bucky's arm settles around your waist and he pulls you closer to him on the couch as you shut your laptop. "That's everything," you tell him with a triumphant smile.
"I really appreciate all of your help with this," he tells you and you turn to look at him. "I never would have even thought to do any of this myself."
"I'm happy to help. I hate when people mess with someone I like," you respond.
"Wait, you like me?" he asks jokingly.
You hit him lightly with a pillow, "I think I've made myself awkwardly clear about that."
He laughs and takes the pillow from you easily, "I'm just checking because I like you too." He moves his hand to the back of your neck and kisses you, when he pulls away he smirks and says, "You're an evil genius, you know that right?"
You giggle, "You have no idea."

Day 1
You sit at your desk, watching the clock closely as you wait for Sam's call. Ten minutes after 8, he finally reaches out and you answer professionally, "Stark Industries Technical Support, this is Y/N, how can I help you this morning?"
"Hi Y/N, it's Sam Wilson. There's something wrong with my ID badge I think, or my entry panel maybe. I'm not sure but I can't get into my office," he tells you.
"Oh no, that's not good. I'm going to put you on hold for a few moments while I look into this for you," you tell him and he says okay. After refilling your bottle with water from the kitchen down the hall, you take him off hold. "Hi Sam, sorry that took so long. Computer is a bit slow this morning," you make up an excuse and he asks if you figured out what's wrong with his door. "Yes, looks like we need to run a quick update on your entry panel. Should be about five minutes or so," you lie easily.
"Okay, thanks," he says but you can hear the annoyance in his voice before he hangs up.
You go back to checking your emails and five minutes later, you unlock Sam's office with a smile. Your phone vibrates, alerting you to a new text from Bucky, he has gotten so much better at sending them in the last few days.
<Hi doll, sounds like your plan is going well. I can hear Sam cursing up a storm from my office.>
You laugh at the thought of Sam being that annoyed and send him a quick text back.
<I think it's working so far 😈 He should be calling again any second.>
As if on cue, your office phone rings. "Hi Y/N, it's me again," he says in a defeated tone. "I can't log into my computer."
"Well aren't you having the worst luck this morning," you tell him. You pretend to type loudly so he can hear it, "Looks like your password expired. I'll set you up with a new temporary one and then you should be good to go." He tells you thanks again and you wish him luck before hanging up.
Fifteen minutes later, your phone rings a third time. "Its Sam again," he says as soon as you answer. "There's something wrong with my computer now. I can't get my email to open and all my programs are freaking out."
"Oh no... I see what the issue is," you say dramatically and he sighs over the phone. "It looks like your computer needs to do a pretty massive update." He asks you how massive and you respond, "About an hour... maybe an hour and a half."
As soon as you and Sam hang up, Pepper calls him and he immediately knows he's in for a long day. "Did you finish the reports for the briefing this afternoon?" she asks.
"Not yet, I've been having a lot of really weird tech issues today," he explains. "IT is on it but it's going to take a while to get me up and running."
"That's unfortunate," she says but there is no sympathy in her voice. "I suggest you work through lunch if needed, those reports were supposed to be on my desk last night."
"I'll get them done," he promises then hangs up. With a loud groan, he drops his head heavily on his desk.

Day 2
Sam complains to Steve and Bucky about all of his computer issues while on their way to his office. He opens the door and Bucky jokes, "Sounds like the tech gods were really pissed off at you, huh?"
"I guess, it really was the weirdest thing," Sam says shaking his head. Bucky and Steve each take a seat and Sam goes to sit behind his desk. As soon as he relaxes into his chair, the seat detaches from the base and he falls to the ground with a loud scream of surprise.
Sam gets up quickly from the floor as his friends come around to the other side of the desk. "Someone is messing with me," he declares over Bucky's laughter.
"Why would anyone do that?" he asks, trying to compose himself. "Not like you've ever pranked anyone around here and would deserve a little revenge."
"Not helpful Buck," Steve rolls his eyes. "Are you okay Sam?"
"Yea," he answers while he examines the chair. "Did you do this?"
"Me?" Bucky asks in response. "I can't even figure out how to use the toaster. How would I have broken into your office?"
Sam is obviously unconvinced and also on the right track. Last night after dinner, you unlocked Sam's office so Bucky could remove almost all of the screws from his chair. That wasn't the only prank you set in motion last night though. As per your plan, Bucky suggests they call maintenance for a new chair and get coffee while they wait.
Tony walks into the kitchen a few moments after the three of them and asks if they like the new coffee maker he just got. Sam pushes the button to make a medium size cup and turns to face him, "First time trying it out."
"Well be nice to it," Tony warns in a joking manner. "I had to lie to Pepper about how much the damn thing cost me but it's worth it for a perfect cup of-"
Tony's words are cut off my Sam swearing as the coffee begins to spill everywhere. The mug overflows and leaks all over the marble counter. Sam tries to press the off button to stop it but it continues to pour out.
"Don't hit it, just press it gently," Tony grumbles as he moves quickly towards his new favorite appliance.
"I am pressing it gently, it's not working," Sam says in a slightly panicked tone as the coffee spills onto the floor.
"How much coffee can that thing make?" Steve asks in shock as he backs up from the growing puddle.
Bucky shakes his head, his hand over his mouth to cover his laughter as he watches the scene unfold. He takes out his phone and sends you a text.
<Check out the security cameras in the kitchen. It worked perfectly>
Tony unplugs the uncooperative machine from the wall and looks angrily at Sam, "Do not touch this again."
"I barely touched it this time!" he counters as he moves away from the massive mess of spilled coffee. "I told them, someone is messing with me."
You reply back after pulling up the live feed.
<🤣🤣 Bonus points for Tony being so annoyed!>
"And how would this mystery person know you were going to use the coffee maker next?" Tony asks with his arms crossed.
"I have no idea," Sam sighs, rubbing his face.
"Just get back to work," he says, "And quit being so damn paranoid."

Day 3
Your head rests against Bucky's chest, his arm holding you comfortably as you watch a movie in his room. Half way through the movie, Bucky's phone begins to vibrate on the coffee table. "Hey Sam, what's-" Bucky answers but you can hear Sam yelling faintly over him.
"Put it on speaker," you whisper and he looks at you confused. You smile and take the phone, showing him how to change the setting and he nods as the background noise becomes louder.
"I can barely hear you," Bucky says and you cover your mouth to keep quiet.
"I said, my apartment is going crazy!" Sam yells over the sound of the TV and other appliances.
"What are you talking about?" Bucky asks, his voice serious. He keeps his eyes on you and you try not to giggle.
"I don't know! I flipped the switch for the lights and the TV turned on full volume. I tried to turn it off but the remote doesn't work. The volume buttons control the air conditioner, the power button opens and closes my blinds, I even tried going in the menu but it turned on my freaking blender. How does that even happen?" he asks frantically.
"I have no idea what you want me to do," Bucky says and you shrug dramatically as if you don't know what is causing it either. "Sounds like your place is possessed," he adds. You giggle and he holds the phone away from himself to place a quick kiss on your cheek.
"I tried to call tech support but they are closed for the night," he explains. "Did you ever get the number for the woman in IT you know?"
"Who?" Bucky plays dumb.
He groans and you can hear the vacuum turn on, he must have tried another button on the reprogrammed remote. "The one you keep telling us is cute! Y/N, right? I talked to her the other day about my computer stuff," Sam says as the TV volume increases and decreases at random.
He blushes, he had forgotten he told Steve and Sam he wanted to talk to you weeks ago. "No, I chickened out of talking to her," he lies.
"Of course you freaking did!" Sam yells and you can practically hear him roll his eyes, "Screw this I'm gonna sleep in the common room tonight."
Bucky hangs up and tosses his phone back onto the table. You tap his shoulder with a smirk, "So... you think I'm cute, huh?"
He laughs, "Very." He kisses you and you lean into him as his arms wrap around you.
You curl up against him on the couch again then sit up suddenly. "What's wrong?" he asks when you get up.
You open your backpack and look over at him, "I brought my laptop... I can turn off the stuff in his room so if anyone checks, everything will be fine."
"Remind me never to get on your bad side," he laughs and you kiss him when you sit next to him again.

Day 4
Sam finishes adjusting his suit as he walks into the training room with Clint, Bucky and Scott. Tony checks a few settings on his control panel while Thor and Loki finish up their sparing session.
When the door closes Loki chuckles and turns his attention from his brother to Sam. "I heard you had quite the night," the God of Mischief smirks.
"Seriously, even Loki knows?" Sam throws his hands on the air.
"I think the whole tower knows you think you someone is pulling weird pranks on you," Scott chimes in.
"I'm not paranoid," Sam says. "Someone here is out to get me."
"That sounds like something a paranoid person would say," Loki shrugs and Thor laughs loudly at his comment.
"I don't like agreeing with Reindeer Games but he has a point," Tony jokes, ignoring the side eye from Loki at his least favorite nickname.
"Fine, whatever," Sam gives up. "Can we just get this over with?"
"Yep," Tony agrees and motions for everyone to get back a bit so Sam can spread the wings on his new gear. He puts his goggles on and turns around, checking to see that everything is in place but his focus shifts when everyone beaks out into laughter.
"What now?" Sam asks, turning back to face the group.
"Nothing, I think we all just like the new look," Bucky says with a smile.
"What the hell?" Sam exclaimes when he catches sight of the back of his wings in the windows.
Bucky snaps a picture, thankful you showed him how to do that a few days ago, and sends it to you.
<I had no idea you were going to do this too! This is amazing!>
You open the picture of Sam's wings covered in googly eyes of every size and color, causing you to nearly spit out your water with laughter.
<I didn't do that... but I am a huge fan of whoever did it 🤣🤣🤣>
Sam looks angrily at Loki, "Why are you messing with me?" He pulls down his goggles and walks over to him.
Loki scoffs, unintimidated by the Falcon and says, "If I was 'messing with you' I would have done more then put paint on your eyewear."
He turns back towards the window quickly and sees two thick black rings of paint around his eyes. "Come on! What the hell guys?" he groans.
Bucky, Scott and Clint can barely keep themselves together long enough to deny they had anything to do with this new prank.
Thor almost looks offended and asks, "How come no one assumes it was me?"
Tony pats him on the back and says, "You're not exactly known for being stealthy." He crosses his arms but nods in agreement. "Alright, now that... that whole thing is out of our systems, let's see what the new wings can do," Tony suggests, bringing everyone back to their original reason for being there.
Sam agrees and everyone moves back a bit to watch him take off. Bucky let's a small smile slip when Sam tries to turn left to circle around the room but his suit doesn't respond correctly. He grows increasingly more confused and annoyed as he discovers his controls are reversed.
He lands after only a few minutes and Clint asks, "First time flying? That was rough to watch."
"Shut up," he answers, fiddling with the computer on his wrist as Tony walks over.
"I'll get this thing debugged and we can try again tomorrow, Tony tells him. He nods and leaves with a loud sigh. Bucky and Steve turn to leave as well but Bucky catches Clint and Scott nodding proudly to each other. He chuckles when he spots a googly eye stuck to Scott's shoe.

Day 5
"I am so over this," Sam tells Steve and Bucky as the walk towards the kitchen. "When I find out who is doing all of this they better apologize like hell cause I'm furious," he threatens and Bucky practically bites his tongue to stay quiet.
His phone chimes in his pocket and says, "New text message to Director Nicholas Fury."
"Shut up," he says as he takes his phone out of his pocket.
It chimes again, "Texting, 'shut up'."
"No, no, no! Cancel, cancel," he says, frantically hitting buttons but none of them work to stop it.
"Text message sent," it alerts him with another chime and he rubs his face.
"What the heck was that?" Steve asks.
"I don't know... It's been doing that all day," he says. "I talked to Y/N and she said she is going to have a new phone sent up to me as soon as Stark approves it."
"Y/N, the woman Bucky likes-" Steve starts to ask with a smile but he's interrupted.
"New text message to Tony Stark," his phone says.
"I hate you," he tells the phone as he tries to turn it off.
The phones responds, "Texting, "I hate you'."
He groans and Bucky begins to lose the battle to hold back his laughter. "What is wrong with you?" Sam struggles with the device.
"Texting, 'What is wrong with you?'" it again repeats Sam.
"Stop talking to it," Steve suggests.
"Texting, 'Stop talking'," the phone adds and Steve cringes. "Text message sent."
"I'm gonna get fired," he says and slumps against the wall.
"Finding instructions on how to make fire," it says as if that is helpful.
His phone chimes to alert him to an incoming text message. "Oh good... it's Tony," he says sarcastically.
"Could be worse," Bucky says with a smile and Sam looks up at him skeptically.
His phone chimes again. "It's Fury," he says with a loud sigh.
Bucky laughs, "See, now it's worse." Steve smacks him in the shoulder and shakes his head disapprovingly but Bucky can see the smile on his face.
Later that night, most of the team is relaxing in the common room until Sam walks in angrily. He slams his laundry basket on the coffee table in front of Natasha, Clint and Wanda. Loki looks up from his book in the corner of the room and Bucky follows Steve in from the kitchen.
"Who did it?" Sam asks.
"Oh, what horrible prank where you the victim of this time?" Loki asks with a smirk as he gets up from his seat.
He pulls out his bedsheets which are all different shades of pink, "Which one of you did this? These were new."
Nat giggles and says, "I don't know but it is a really nice color."
Bucky takes out his phone and quickly finds your chat. You text him back, showing the picture of the pink sheets to your friends who joined you for dinner.
<Omg, they did not!? That's amazing 🤣🤣 I can't believe other people joined in like this>
Steve calmly says, "It might not have been on purpose. Someone probably forgot a red shirt or something in the machine."
"No, this is definitely on purpose," he argues with Steve. "I'm going to find out who is doing this."
He grabs the basket and leaves the room angrily. Bucky doesn't watch him leave, he's too focused on Wanda winking at Nat.
Tumblr media
Day 6
Sam sits at the far end of the large oval table in the conference room, fuming with his arms crossed.
Loki smiles wide as he takes a seat next to him. He leans close and asks, "What seems to be the trouble today?"
"I don't want to talk about it," Sam responds.
Loki doesn't give up and says, "I think you should share with the team, it might make you feel better. Besides, I'm sure we're all curious as to why you are so annoyed this morning."
Before he can reply, Fury walks into the briefing room. He slams the door shut, which gets everyone's attention at once. He stands in the front of the room, covered in glitter as he glares at Sam. "We need to talk Wilson," he tells him.
"I didn't..." he stands slowly. "You don't think I did that?"
"You left your ID badge on my desk," he holds it up by the lanyard. Sam looks at him in shock then pats his pants and jacket as if it will suddenly appear on his person.
Loki laughs so hard, he slaps the desk and says, "This is the best week I have had in decades. I don't think I've been this entertained since humans celebrated the first April Fools Day."
Sam looks at Loki and then back to Fury, "It has to be him. Do you really think I would be stupid enough to glitter bomb you and leave my ID badge?"
"I have already told you, I have not participated in your torment," Loki says. "I am merely enjoying it."
Thor adds, "Trust me, if it was my brother, he would not deny it."
"Fine, so it's not him but it's one of you," Sam looks around the room at the full table.
Fury stands unconvinced at the front of the room, his arms crossed against his chest. "You have until the end of the day to pick up every single piece of glitter," he tells Sam then he takes a seat at the head of the table to start the meeting.
Loki whispers to Sam, "I must admit, I'm really beginning to like whoever is doing this to you."
Sam rolls his eyes and says, "Oh this person you like? I thought you hated all 'humans'."
Loki corrects him, "I am generally indifferent towards your existence, that's not quite the same as hate."
"I'm not sure if that makes me feel better or not," Sam says and Loki shrugs in response.
Tumblr media
Day 7
Sam is confused and says, "Wait are you guys together? I thought you said you didn't talk to her..."
Sam wanders into the kitchen in the morning, yawning from lack of sleep. He had stayed up most of the night trying to figure out who was behind all of the pranks. He assumed most of the team could have done the laundry prank or googly eyes but he didn't know anyone with the tech skills to pull off the other ones.
He stops short when he sees you and Bucky together, he stands behind you with his arms around your waist. You look up at him and kiss his cheek before you notice Sam.
Bucky smirks and says, "Oh yeah, I guess I lied."
"How long..." you can see him trying to figure out if you had been together long enough to aid in his pranking.
You smile at his confusion and ask, "Wanna see something cool?" He shrugs, still processing your relationship. "Bucky told me the new toaster is voice activated."
"Oh shit," Sam slowly starts to realize what set off this whole chain reaction of pranks. "Bucky, it was just a joke. It's not actually voice activated, you know that right?"
You smile and say, "Oh, then how come this happens?" You push the button on your phone inside your pocket and say, "Toast." A few seconds later, two perfectly toasted pieces of bread pop out.
"What the hell?" Sam asks, you and Bucky laugh in response. He turns and walks back out of the kitchen, nearly walking right into Tony.
"Morning," Tony greets you both as he sets up his now fixed coffee maker. "I gotta say, I'm pretty impressed with you Y/N."
"With what?" you suddenly feel nervous.
He smiles and asks, "Did you really think you could get into all of my systems without me noticing?"
Bucky moves slightly in front of you and says, "Don't fire her, it's my fault. I asked her to help. We just wanted to get back at him a little."
Bucky pulls you closer, looks at you and says, "I know I'm lucky."
Tony laughs, takes a sip of his coffee and says, "Oh, I'm not mad. I actually am very impressed by how well you got into every part of the towers tech, we should probably talk about a promotion into our security division."
You look at him speechless, you had always wanted to work in that department.
"Also," he adds, "I had that glitter bomb for almost a year and I couldn't figure out how set it off in Fury's office without getting blamed for it so thank you for the distraction."
"Um... you're welcome," you tell him with a laugh.
"Barnes, you're luck she is on your side," he says as he turns to leave. "She's absolutely terrifying."

Pairing: Damian Wayne x Fem!reader
Word count: 1.0k
Warning: none
A/N: also reminder all my requests have been completely deleted after I had gotten a new phone. I’ll open up requests later I just don’t know when. I’m a bit disappointed in myself bc I didn’t get to them sooner. So again sorry if your requests won’t be done anytime soon.
Tumblr media
You’re never the first to call.
Most of the time it’s Damian.
Damian needs something in his life that no one in his family could give him. They could, but it wouldn’t be the same if he got it from you. You’re in your room, it’s late. Too late where the streets of Gotham have gone silent—and that alone should say something. You're humming a song of your choice that plays in the background of your bedroom as you sew up a piece of your jacket that you had accidentally ripped when you were out during the day. The music cuts off as your phone beside you starts to ring. It’s a facetime call.
incoming call 🩷🗡️Damian🩷🗡️….:
You’re quick to answer it… pressing the green button as you propped up your phone up against a couple of books you had laying around on your small desk you sat at so he could get a better view of you. There’s a smile on your face when he shows up. I'm your view on the phone. He’s laying down on his bed looking tired and beaten. Damian had just gotten back from a night of patrol before he decided to call you.
“Hi!” You great, he greets you back with a quiet hello “what are you doing?”
“I could ask you the same thing” you hum as you focus back on your jacket.
“Well, my excuse is I took a nap— at like—I don’t know-five? Maybe six? Anyway I woke up not even an hour ago. So I’ll be up the entire night” you laugh at yourself softly “What about you? Why are you up?” He’s quiet for a moment, and that worries you. He says nothing for a few scones seconds, you look up and stare at your phone—staring at his reflection on the other side of your device. There’s something about him that you can’t read well. And that says something because you could usually read off his emotions based on his expression.
“Just got done with patrol” he finally speaks and you nod slowly “how was your day beloved?” A question that’s quick to get you.
Damian loves listening to you talk about your day, even if it was just you doing absolutely nothing. You are quick with your answer.
“I didn’t do much! I only went to the mall today with a friend and let me tell you—twenty-five dollars in this economy ain’t shit. I think I spend around one hundred dollars? I think and I only went to like three stores but I still have money left over. Also Victoria secret underwear is not for the weak at all. They’re cute but some of them are just eh—not made for wearing them all day—“ you stop yourself from saying anything else. You look at your phone to stare at Damian who says nothing. The more you look at him the more he looks exhausted.
“Damian?”
“Yeah?”
“Come over” a soft smile grazes your lips “‘my parents aren’t home. Away on a business trip or something like that”
“oh?” That seems to spike his interests “what’s the occasion?” You shrug as you think for a moment, your ripped jacket now forgotten and placed aside
“movie night? I was watching a scary movie on Max called Barbarian. I was watching it alone but ten minutes in I got scared” Damian let’s put a small laugh that warms your heart. He’s slowly coming down from whatever he was going through.
“So?”
“I’ll be there. Just give me a few minutes”
“yay. I’ll see you in a bit. My windows open so you can just come in whenever”
You say your goodbye before you hang up on each other.
When Damian finally comes round you’re in the kitchen standing in front of the microwave as you make popcorn. Too engrossed on your phone you don’t notice him until his reflection covers your screen. You're quick to turn around and greet him with a hug that lasts longer than usual. It had you wondering. It’s not until the sound of your microwave beeping, you two pull apart but not fully. Hands linger on his face longer, palms against his tan cheeks.
“You okay?” Softly, you ask and he nods against your hands—his own hands coming up and grasping yours bringing your palm closer to his lips. He kisses it softly before he nuzzles into them again.
“Yes, with you I’m always okay” you hum as you smile up at him.
“Okay….” The microwave beeps once more, a reminder that the popcorn is ready. You let go of Damian as you make your way towards it, opening it and taking out the hot and steaming bag. You place it on the counter as you go and retrieve a bowl.
“You can go sit on the couch if you want” you say dumping the popcorn into the bowl
“I’ll be there in a minute” he nods but you can’t see, you hear his footsteps disappear as he walks away. You spot Damian sitting on the couch waiting patiently, there’s no expression on his face as he stares blankly at your T.V. A frown paints your lips as you walk up to him and hand him the popcorn—he doesn’t say a word as he takes it from your hand and watches as you search for the remote. When you do find it you sit next to him draping a blanket that was placed over the arm of the couch. There’s a static silence between the two of you as you search for the movie. Damian drapes his arm over your shoulder—leaning down onto you.
“Tired?” You laugh slightly—hand coming up to ruffle his black hair as you press play on the movie. He shakes his head
“No. I’m never tired” he smiles
“Okay, whatever you say” rolling your eyes playfully you lean closer to him. The popcorn was now in your hands, placed on your lap. Damian arms were wrapped around you protectively. You two to engrossed in the movie you were watching
Damian was always okay. He just missed you. Today was the first time he’s been over your house in the past six months and talking to you through the phone wasn’t doing any justice to him. Missing you kinda gives him a home sick-y feeling.
Tumblr media
Also I recommend watching Barbarian on MAX. It’s not really a jump scare kind of horror movie. It’s more like an uneasy kind of movie. 10/10. Although I do have to give a warning bc there is blood and gore and also mentions of rape and incest.

You had dragged Wilbur to a house party your friend invited you to. You could tell he didn't want to, mainly due to the fact that his mind would be plagued by the idea of other people hitting on you or trying to get with you. It also didn't help that you looked drop-dead gorgeous; you had a white button-up shirt tucked into short, tight denim shorts with a black tie & fishnets; truly a sight for sore eyes.
"I'm gonna go get us some drinks, okay?" you said to Wilbur, who had his arms wrapped around your waist.
"Alright, love. Be careful. & come back quickly," he told you, kissing your forehead. You smiled & left for the bar. You told the bartender the drinks you wanted & you sat on one of the sticky stools, waiting for your drinks to be prepared.
"Oh my god, Y/N!" a cheerful voice said from behind you. You looked over your shoulder to see Claude, an old coworker back when you used to work at the coffee shop across the street from your shared apartment with Wilbur. "It's been forever, girl!"
"Claudy!" you said happily, giving him a hug. "It's been ages! How's life been?"
"I got engaged!" he said, showing you the ring on his finger. You gasped & clapped happily, holding his hand to examine the ring. "He's such a good guy. His name's James, 6'4, plays the drums, & he loves cats & rain."
"Sounds like a Wattpad dream man," you teased. He playfully swatted your arm with a laugh.
"How's your relationship with Wilbur been?" he asked. "Last time I remember, you were head over heels for him, right?"
"He's the best," you said dreamily. "He's such a gentleman, & he's so good to me."
"That's good!" he said, his hand now resting on your arm. "I'm so happy for you, Y/N. You deserve him. & this is a reward for having to put up with shitty exes."
"Oh my God, you're so right," you said, resting your hand on his arm, too. "Remember Jared?"
"Oh. My. Days," he sighed. "Such a dickhead. Girl, I have no idea how you survived being in a relationship with him. Give me some of your patience right now."
You laughed & were about to say something when you felt your phone buzz. "It's probably from Wil," you told Claude. You opened up the text.
Tumblr media
Your heart started to beat out of your chest. Did he actually think you were cheating on him?
"You okay?" Claude asked. You didn't respond.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Claude had seen the texts & let you leave without a word. You walked outside & it was pouring rain, which meant you had to stand in the rain for at least five minutes until your ride came. Great.
When the Uber finally arrived, you were shivering & dripping with rainwater & the smell of petrichor hung on your skin, & you got into the car as you tried your hardest not to cry.
"How's your night been?" the Uber driver asked.
"It's been alright!" you lied, putting on a fake happy tone. "How about you?"
"Eh, not too bad," she said. "My girlfriend didn't want me to take any drives tonight because of how rainy it is." She laughed slightly. "She's always so worried for me." You laughed in return & you two didn't say anything for the rest of the night.
When she pulled up to the house, she politely bid you adieu & made sure you got to the door before driving off. You opened the door to the apartment & looked around. He wasn't in the kitchen or in the living room. Maybe he hadn't gotten home yet. You took off your shoes & left your bag on the kitchen counter as you trudged upstairs.
"Darling!" Wilbur sprang up from the bed when you entered the bedroom. He immediately dropped to his knees & kissed the backs of your hands, the palms, the knuckles, & the wrists while telling you how wildly sorry he was.
"What's on the bed?" you asked, looking over at the bed, covered in objects.
"Your favorites," he told you, standing up. "Snacks, candy, drinks, & your favorite flavor of ice cream. I also got you those new slippers you had wanted the other day when we were at Target, a blanket, & a few stuffed animals, too. There's a cat, a Pompompurin,--I'm pretty sure he's your favorite Sanrio character, but, if I was wrong, I got you a Keroppi plush, too, & a My Melody one--& a green dinosaur that looks like Dino from that one game you like...what was it called? Oh, yeah, Like A Dino. I also restocked your skincare stuff & your hair stuff, since you told me you were running out."
Without even realizing it, you started crying. You brought a hand up to your mouth to hide the expression you were making when you cried.
"Did I do something wrong, baby?" asked Wilbur, kissing your hairline & your forehead repeatedly. "Why're you crying?"
"I-I just--I got so mad at you over text & you still got all of this for me," you hiccupped.
"You had every right to be mad at me, my moon," he whispered, removing your hand away from your mouth to press a light kiss to your lips. "I was a bitch & I was being so rude to you, & you didn't deserve that." Without warning, he picked you up bridal-style, causing you to yelp & immediately wrap your arms around his neck.
"C'mon, sweet baby. Pick a movie & let's go cuddle."

Is that alright?
Pairings: Henry Cavill x Singer Reader
Summary: You are a musical guest in The Graham Norton Show on an episode that also features your ex-boyfriend, Henry Cavill. You play your latest single that you've written when you were 18 and in love with Henry.
A/N: Implied previous relationship. I don't think there are any more warnings, except the delusional situation that I've concocted. LOL This is based on the song Is That Alright? by Lady Gaga from The Star Is Born movie.
Check out my fic masterlist.
Tumblr media
As the stage lights dimmed, the audience of The Graham Norton Show erupted in applause, eagerly anticipating the next musical guest. The cameras panned to the artist nervously waiting in the wings. You took a deep breath and stepped into the spotlight, gently sitting down on the chair and placing your hands on the ivory keys.
With grace and confidence, you began playing your latest single which took you nearly 10 years to release. A song you've written when you were so deeply in love with the love of your life, Henry Cavill.
As you began to sing, your voice resonated with a depth of emotion that captivated everyone in the room.
youtube
When the last note faded into silence, the applause was thunderous.
You took a gracious bow and went over to the red couch where the guests for the night were all on their feet, applauding as well and congratulating you on your heartfelt performance.
Henry, being a guest as well that night, caught your eye as he extended a hand to shake yours. You gave him a warm smile as you shook his hand.
"Y/N, that was absolutely stunning." Graham began when the greetings and applause were over. "This single is truly heartbreakingly beautiful. Tell us about it!" He asked enthusiastically.
You glanced at Graham, taking a moment to collect your thoughts. This was the question you were both expecting and dreading.
"Thank you, Graham." You began nervously.
It wasn't that it was your first ever TV guesting, but it is the first time you were sharing the screen with your now excessively famous ex, Henry Cavill. Talking about the song you wrote about your relationship with him nearly ten years ago is a bit embarrassing on your end.
"Yes, 'Is That Alright?' is a very personal song for me. I actually wrote it when I was 18 years old, so like almost ten years ago when I was deeply in love with someone who meant the world to me."
The audience watched intently, unaware of the connection between you and the other guest on the show, Henry Cavill. But Henry, caught off guard by your revelation, nearly choked on his Martini but tried to play it cool as he waited for you to continue.
"Ten years?!" Graham exclaimed a little exaggeratedly. "Why did it take you that long to release this gem?"
You laughed a little, hoping you looked cool and calm enough.
"The long answer or the short answer?" You joked and everyone laughed.
Even Henry was laughing, you were always funny, and he was amazed you were able to preserve your humor and wit despite the nerve-wracking fame you've garnered over the years.
"How long will the long answer take?" Graham quipped.
"However long it takes the crew to give me five shots of tequila." The studio erupted with laughter, Graham was laughing behind the cards in his hands.
"No, I'm sorry." You began, "Okay. So for real, this song holds immense significance to me, it’s a sort of love letter, you see… and these are the words I wanted to let the person I wrote it for know but I never had the chance to.”
You saw Henry bit his lower lip and look down on the drink in his hand.
"Why weren’t you able to give this ‘love letter’ to them?” One of the guests asked as you were drinking.
“He broke up with me.” You said shyly and laughter ensued once again.
“How old were you again when you wrote this?” One of the older guests on the couch asked, an actor, that you can’t remember the name of but looks an awful lot like Nearly Headless Nick from Harry Potter.
"Just 18. I was so young when I wrote it..."
"You were binge drinking at 18, you were not THAT young," Graham said in jest and everyone laughed once again.
You chuckled along with the audience, appreciating Graham's lightheartedness amidst the delicate subject. From your peripherals, you saw that Henry was looking in your direction, he was laughing, too.
The conversation flowed, everyone on the couch asked their question or complimented your latest single, except for Henry. Graham, noticing how awfully quiet he was, asked, “And Henry, how do you find Y/N’s latest single?”
You felt a lump form in your throat, you did your best to swallow your drink and as Graham asked Henry.
Henry chuckled, looking down at his drink a bit before looking at you and saying: “It’s beautiful.”
“Awfully unfeeling.” Graham quipped with a fake whisper and eye roll and laughter ensued once again.
You laughed at Graham’s remark, too and thanked Henry.
When the show ended, you made your way backstage to hurriedly gather your things when you heard someone clear their throat behind you. You turned to find Henry standing at the door of your dressing room. “Hi…” He said softly. You said a quiet hello and asked him to come in.
“I’m so sorry, but…” He began as you zipped your bag. “Do you have any plans for tonight?”
You straightened up and faced Henry, blinking fast trying to absorb what he just asked.
“Uh…just go back to the hotel and that’s it. Order room service, maybe.” You answered honestly, feeling your face turn warm in slight embarrassment for your lack of fun plans for the night.
He chuckled lightly, “May I interest you with a Pint?”
You might have stared at him a little too long before answering, because you saw him lightly cock his head to the side. “Uhm… sure.” You managed to say, finally.
“Perfect. Meet you outside in 10 minutes?” He said with a huge smile, and you only nodded in reply. You watched him walk out the dressing room, the smile never leaving his face.
You were a bit shocked.
It’s been nearly a decade since you’ve last seen or spoken to Henry. But the last few minutes… they didn’t feel like much time passed. You sat down and breathed, you can do this…
It’s just Henry.
It’s just Henry.

we're in trouble now
Tumblr media
an: Halloween vibes? but not really? idk sort of kind of based on bad, bad, bad by LANY
pairings: geto x fem!reader
warnings: MANGA SPOILERS (vol 0, geto's past/high school years) mentions of: killing, curses, death, blood, police, crime, throwing up/gagging. sorcerer au, reader is not a sorcerer. established relationship, pet names, angst to comfort kinda? geto is just a little troubled, lowercase intentional
-
geto has been...off lately. and you're not sure why. he's been coming home later and later each night, causing you to lie awake in your shared bed, staring up at the ceiling, worried out of your mind.
it must be his job.
you've been dating for three years now. you knew before you started to date that he was a jujutsu sorcerer. he told you one night at the fanciest restaurant in tokyo, flushed cheeks and stuttering over his words. you couldn't care less, though. if anything, it was fucking hot to have a sorcerer as a boyfriend.
his job never got in the way of anything, though. he had amazing friends, who you've spent lots of time with. he was always home before dinner, never leaving on missions any longer than two days, even offering to take you along.
the last time that happened was about five months ago.
now it's 3:30 am, and you've found yourself in bed by yourself. again. calling him again, the line goes to voicemail almost instantly. you huff and throw your phone on the bed, watching it bounce before it lands face up. to your surprise, he's calling you back. rushing over, you leap onto the mattress, answering as quickly as possible.
"s-sugu? baby, are you alright?" your voice shakes. you're not sure why your chest feels so tight, why your breaths seem harder and harder to take.
geto feels the same way. he always does after he finishes off another one.
phone between his ear and shoulder, geto stands in front of a public restroom sink, scrubbing his hands for the third time in a row. the cheap soap does nothing to get rid of the blood that stains his fingers, deep in every crevice of his skin. looking at himself in the mirror, he feels an incredible sense of guilt.
"yeah, i'm fine baby. hey can you do me a favor, sweetheart?"
you can hear his voice echoing, almost as if he's in a pool.
"s-sure, where are you?"
geto feels guilty. he doesn't mean for you to be this upset. he also doesn't want to lie to you.
the four bodies behind him in the open stall are making it a little tough.
"oh i've just been finishing up work," one of the bodies, eyes still open, stare right at geto through the reflection of the mirror as he speaks. "i'll be home soon though, darling. i promise."
he hits mute as a shaky sigh leaves his lips. he peeks at his reflection once more, watching as the shirt worn by one of the dead bodies soaks up more blood. one of the bodies lets out a liquidy gurgle that echos off the tile walls. geto can almost see the last bit of life escape them, floating up into the air to join the rest of those that died the same way these ones did.
"what was the favor you needed?"
geto feels sick now. your voice so sweet, so innocent and airy. he can't you're with someone like him.
a killer.
sneaking out of the bathroom and to his car, he unmutes himself.
"could you grab a couple suitcases from the closet? pack up enough for a few days, and could you pack a little for me as well?" he buckles himself in and just as he starts his car, the sound of sirens appear in the distance.
"yeah, i can do that," you stand up, heart still racing. did you have a trip planned?
turning down different back alleys, stalling for a second as the sirens get closer, geto takes a deep breath.
"you're an angel. i'll be there soon. i love you, my perfect girl."
you end the call and begin to do as you were asked. filling the suitcases as quick as you can, you don't pay much attention to the outfits you've created. you don't even know where you're going, anyway. you smile, picturing in your mind a quick little getaway for the two of you. sightseeing, sleeping in, and spending time away from work.
you still feel a little off.
where was he?
the door bursts open, presenting a very flustered geto. his bun is almost out, dark tresses barely hanging at the nape of his neck. the pieces that fell out stick to his face from what looks like sweat. his pupils are blown wide, mouth slightly agape as he breathes heavily. you drop the t-shirt of his out of your hands and scramble to your feet.
"s-sugu? oh my god, what happened to you? did you get mugged? d-did someone try to kill you? oh my god," you gasp, hands reaching for every part of his body to make sure he was in one piece.
geto swallows back the guilt induced vomit that sits at the back of his throat. "no, baby, not at all," he coos down at you, but his eyes look anywhere but your face. they check each window and door, before eyeing the suitcases. "thank you so much for doing this. we're going away for a few days, is that alright?" he says with a smile. cupping your face ever so lightly with his slightly stained fingers. he's thankful you forgot to turn on the lights.
"of course, suguru. are we going far? let me make something to eat," you pull him towards the kitchen, but he tugs you back.
"we can eat when we get there, i promise. let's just get going," he speaks quickly, eyes still checking the windows.
"is everything okay?" you say, copying his stares out the window. he notices and grabs his suitcase and yours, before heading towards the door. he almost throws up again, torn between telling you everything and keeping you in the dark. he swallows hard.
"the car is on, i can explain everything later. we'll be just fine, i promise." you smile, feeling a little more at ease. with a nod, you grab a jacket and head out the door.
as soon as you get to the car, geto opens the passenger door for you and puts the suitcases in the back with speed. you haven't even buckled your seatbelt by the time he starts to drive away.
"it's 4:30 am baby, we don't need to race! it's not like anyone is on the road," you laugh and reach your hand to hold his. he jumps when you touch him. "i'm sorry! i didn't mean to scare you," you mumble, and he gives you a small smile, which fades as soon as the faint sounds of sirens fill the air. his stare jumps up to the rearview mirror, and he takes a sudden sharp turn that has you jumping in your seat.
"suguru! what is going on?"
he turns down another street and speeds up a little bit.
"angel, i've gotten myself into a bit of trouble, okay? everything is gonna be just fi-"
"what did you do?" your voice is stern, but geto gives you a smile, eyes softening as he drives down a back road.
"i'll explain everything later, just like i promised. for now, i need you to trust me, okay?"
your mind and stomach scream no no no at you, but your heart takes over.
"okay, i trust you."
-
you must have fallen asleep at some point on the drive, because when you open your eyes you're met with sunshine and costal views.
"there she is, good morning darling. we're almost there."
blinking a few times and rubbing the sleep out of your eyes, you realize that you have pulled into a small town next to the ocean. geto appears to be more relaxed. you reach around for your phone, but you can't seem to find it.
"are you looking for your phone?" you nod. "i put it in my bag for you. i thought it would be good for us to stay off of our phones for the next couple of days. just time with each other, how does that sound?" his face beams at you from the driver's seat. you can't say no, especially not when he's being so kind and sweet.
"i think that sounds lovely."
you pull up to a motel, which looks as if it doesn't get a lot of business. you start to feel a little uneasy, and geto can sense that.
"wait right here, i'll get us checked in," he kisses your cheek and walks towards the motel office. now that you're a little more awake, you start to become hyper-aware of your surroundings. based off of the looks, you're at least four hours from home. you start to think a little more. was he running from the cops? what type of trouble is he in?
he returns quickly, room key in hand. he grabs the suitcases out of the car and you follow close behind him all the way to your room. as soon as you enter, he quickly shuts the door and locks it behind him. you have a seat on the old motel bed without a word.
feeling a little more relieved, he sighs and looks at you. worry all over your face, wringing your hands that are placed in your lap.
"isn't this nice? our own little place, right on the ocean. i know how much you love the ocean, we could even go check out the shops later!"
you don't say anything. geto begins to panic.
"are you hungry? would you like me to get some food for us? if you want, we could go-"
"why did you take me here?" your voice is nothing more than a whisper. you feel sick, you know something is terribly wrong. he kneels in front of you on the floor and grabs your hand.
"sweetheart, do you think humans are good people?"
you give him a confused look. "maybe not everyone, but most people i know are good people," you think out loud. geto's stomach feels a little uneasy.
"your asshole manager? you think that guy is a good person?"
"no, not him. but my other coworkers are great people, remember? you've met them!"
of course he has. he's been to many work dinners and events.
he also killed one of them last night, but he won't tell you that.
"darling, why do you think there is so much crime in the world? so many good people like you say, having their lives ruined by these terrible humans. wouldn't the world be a better place if they just...went away?"
your mouth opens slightly and you blink at him a few times. you start to sweat a little bit, and the room feels like it's caving in on the two of you.
"what are you suggesting?"
he comes to sit next to you on the bed and holds you in his arms.
"do you know what i do for work?"
he feels you nod into his chest. "you fight curses, right?"
"that's right. do you know why curses exist?"
you shake your head.
"because of humans. regular humans, like you, who can't fight or see curses. curses only exist because of them. they are able to flow through people and hurt them, which makes my friends and i come in to save them. that doesn't seem very fair, does it?"
you disagree. you know deep down that this isn't right, what he's implying is evil.
"w-well no, but-"
"do you know hard it is to fight curses? to even be around curses?" he stands up, voice raising. hot, angry tears fill his lash line. "do you know how disgusting my cursed technique is?"
your mouth opens and shuts, unable to form any words at all. you want to speak, but you simply cannot find the words to say. you know there is nothing. you can say to help him feel any better.
"i don't know but i want to, i want to understand you better," you mumble, lip quivering and voice cracking slightly. you feel terrible, you had no idea how much pain geto has been in. he paces back and forth in front of you, wiping his tears with his hands. suddenly he stops.
"you'll think that i'm gross, that i'm a monster," he rambles. you stand up, grabbing his hand and holding him close.
"i promise i won't. i love you,"
he takes a deep breath and backs away, leading you back to the bed to sit down. you continue to hold his hands in your own, attempting to provide any sense of comfort.
"i can summon curses. i can call them to help me fight, whenever i need them," he starts, glancing at you to see your reaction. to his surprise, you're completely neutral.
"that sounds really cool, sugu. what do they look like?" you ask, eyes wide and full of curiosity. geto can't help the smile that grows on his face at how innocent you are.
you are exactly why he wants this perfect world.
he raises his hand and a small curse appears. something kind of silly looking, much like a kids drawing with wings. you look at it for a second, before he interupts.
"can you see it?"
you nod. "that's good. some humans can see them, and some can't. this little guy is harmless," he waves his hand and the curse flies away, out the door and into the world.
"can you make bigger ones?"
he chuckles. "yes, some ten times his size, maybe even bigger. they all have different abilities, some are stronger than others," he looks at you once more, relieved to see that you're smiling.
"how do you get them, do you make them?"
geto doesn't say anything, but continues to stare at the carpet at his feet.
"i swallow them," noticing your confused face, he elaborates. "it turns into a ball, fits right in the palm of my hand, almost looks like a crystal ball," he swallows hard. "then i just...swallow it."
you nod and stroke his back. he shivers a little at the thought.
"it tastes so vile, so disgusting. i can't even describe the taste," he shakes his head, tears brimming his eyes once more. "tastes like death. which make sense," he sniffles.
"why, sugu?"
he looks at you, tears streaming down his face at this point. you brush them away with your thumb, but they keep falling.
"i'm a killer. you don't deserve me. i try to make this world a better place, one where i don't have to watch my friends die. one where i don't even have to worry about curses, one where i don't have to think about ever losing you," he raises his voice, each word coming out through choked sobs.
"i want to keep you safe. i want to be away from this, from everything. i want to protect you," he cries, and you pull him close. "god, everyone probably thinks i'm so fucked up. they probably thing im ruining your life,"
you shake your head. "people can think whatever they want." with a nod, he lays back down on the bed. you push the fallen strands out of his face, playing with them a bit to help him calm down.
"how long do you want to stay here?"
he wipes his face and props himself up on his elbows. "i dunno, couple of days at least,"
you nod. the two of you sit in silence. geto has run out of things to say, as have you.
it’s light outside, sunny and bright. the exact opposite of the mood inside of the dingy motel room. seagulls sing outside as they perch, happy tunes that almost make you laugh. you’re not sure what to think, what to feel.
“are we gonna be alright, sugu?”
he sighs. “i think so.”

Wanna Watch a Movie?
Modern Aegon II Targaryen x Reader
A/N: A prequel to "Piña Coladas", set in the same storyline as "Enamoured by Strawberries" and can be considered a prequel to that as well. I've written this fic in a way where you see the reader's relations with a lot of people in the Targaryen family, and how they hold a place for her in each of their hearts. And I may have pushed this in a little "love triangle" trope as well, which I might continue in future parts or I might not. Summary: The beginning of the vacation of all the Targaryen children, and a cute family lunch beforehand.
Tumblr media
Warnings: Age-gap, an obsessive and calculated Aegon.
Word Count: 4.1k
It had been another shitty morning for you at the mansion. Daemon had woken you up, his loud voice coming from your door to take laps shaking your brain like he’d made you do the moment he decided he could. It was the worst possible way to wake up, seeing as you weren’t even a morning person. Yet, as you sat by your mirror running a comb through your hair, freshly showered and post-run, you felt great. You loved this part of the day the most, which was why you’d let Daemon force you to do this every day, your lazy ways needed the push. And it felt phenomenal to not feel like a slug after waking up as well.
You did the same routine as every day, though you opted to wash your hair today. But after getting dressed as comfortably yet fashionably as you could, you headed for lunch, your stomach growling with hunger. As you walked through the large hallway, having made a right to the grand central staircase, you saw little Aeggie and Visie playing with Ana, their au pair, on a carpet in the living room. You waved to her, giving Aeggie a small kiss on the cheek as he came running up to greet you. Visie preferred Dany's company, but Aeggie had become obsessed with you in a matter of the one minute he spent in your arms. He was only three as of now, looking up at you with large, violet puppy-dog eyes as he lifted his arms, "up-up-up" leaving his mouth in his adorable baby voice.
"You can take him to lunch, I was just getting ready to do so," said Ana.
You nodded, flashing her a smile as you lifted Aeggie up, resting him on your left hip. One of his little hands went over your shoulder while the other twiddled your earring.
Little Aegon was a curious baby, his fiddling always finding something on your person to adore, sometimes your earrings, sometimes your necklaces, your bracelets, or even your hair. You walked behind the staircase, finding the smaller drawing-room, Rhaegar sat there with Aemond, who was on his laptop, they were both conversing. You walked over to them. "Hey guys, whatcha doing?" you said, grabbing little Aegon's arm to stop him from pulling your earrings off. "Just chatting," said Rhaegar. Aemond beckoned you to him, and you walked to stand near the armchair he sat on, glancing at his screen.
"You remember I was reading Critique of the Power of Judgement last night?"
"Yeah, yeah, the five-part by Kant you were telling me about?"
"Yeah, that one. Turns out, I hit a bit of a snag. That man's fucking diabolical, it's almost like I’m supposed to read it and decipher it on my own. I know you've got some app or something that answers everything, would something help?" he asked, looking up from the screen to you as you sat on the armrest.
"Umm, yeah, Reddit. It’ll probably have a bunch of people giving different answers, and you could read different perspectives, and find your own amongst them, there’s also chat gpt, it’s this AI-based website, I think, that just scrolls through everything on the internet and gives you the best answer. Use small sentences, I'm sure you'll find what you're looking fo- what are you doing?" You stopped mid-sentence as the sound of a camera made both you and Aemond turn to Rhaegar. "You guys kind of look like a married couple," Rhaegar snickered. You scoffed. Aemond frowned.
"I'm going for lunch, you guys gonna join us?" you asked.
"Yeah," said Rhaegar, eyes on his phone as he scrolled through the pictures he took.
"Yeah, I'll come to you for help, thanks for the advice," Aemond said.
You nodded, turning away and walking down the stone hallway. Aeggie was very calm in your arms. Rhaenyra had been grateful to you for this since day one, he was a noisy baby, but in her arms or yours, he'd almost always end up completely relaxed. More often than not, you'd find the crying baby being handed to you along with his sippy cup, and he'd settle down fairly quickly. Right now his head rested on your shoulder as he played with the hem of your top. You smiled as you whiffed his platinum hair, and it smelled like babies do. The hallway to the dining hall was one of the longest, tapestries hung on both sides. You'd glance at each and every single one as you walked to lunch every time. You always took your time in this hallway, strolling as the only sounds were your breathing and your echoing footsteps on the cool stone floors. Little Aegon would sometimes babble lightly. You reached the end of the hallway soon, turning left and entering the large doors of the hall, which opened to the dining table, chatter filled the air. Most of the family sat there.
"Hey guys," you said, walking in, as greetings rang across the table. Rhaenyra smiled at Aeggie, who'd now fallen asleep in your arms. She began to get up. "It's alright, he's asleep, eat your food," you said to her, and she flashed you another smile, settling back down into her seat. You walked to your own, Aegon, who sat in his own chair moved yours so you could sit. You uttered thanks to him as you settled into your seat, folding one foot upwards, adjusting so Aeggie lay on your chest, soft snores coming from him.
The dining hall, like the rest of the castle, was of stone and decorated in a dark, yet luxurious manner, its stone appearance giving it this beautiful, authentic ambience that was not very common, yet touches of modernity to balance it out dotted the place. The table was stone with dark marble designs, and the seats were plush pale green and light pink. You took out your phone, flipping through your notifications before turning it off and setting it on the table. Baela had been busy chatting away with Viserys. She turned away from him to your direction and softly elbowed you so as to not disturb the sleeping Aeggie.
"Yo, I spent almost all day yesterday begging Father, and he said yes to allowing a trip for us, I'm thinking Bora Bora," she said. You hmm'ed, approving of her choice, obviously.
"When are we going?" you asked. "Tonight?" she questioned. "It'll take all day to pack, how long are you thinking?" you asked, a whine evident in your former sentence.
"A week? I want a vacation, I've convinced Jace, Mr. Vizzy and his sister here, Vizzy is gonna convince Rhaegar, Aemond, Helaena and Aegon, Daeron's in already," you nodded thoughtfully. You looked over to Vizzy, who nodded at you with a confident smirk on his face. You knew the stubborn boy would get it done within the hour, no issues. He was one of the most persuasive people you knew. You continued chatting with Baela, ever so often running your hand over Aeggie's small body.
Unbeknownst to you, Aegon was simply gazing at you. He'd known about your slight crush on him for a while now, but you kept it under covers. Since the moment he did realise that about you, he'd caught himself staring quite often. He was so lost in his thoughts that Daeron slapped his arm to make him look away from you. He looked back at his younger brother, annoyance evident in his gaze, who leaned in and whispered, "Daemon's caught you staring. If you're really going to undress her with your eyes, at least don't do it in public for all to see," he said, scoffing.
It was well known Daemon had taken a liking to you, he treated you like Baela, only he shared more interests with you. He played a paternal role in your life since you’d moved into the mansion. Aegon did not want to mess with Daemon one bit. He turned back to his meal, uninterested as he'd throw glances at you ever so often. Aegon loved it when you doted on him. He enjoyed it far more when you'd start to get all girly for him, getting flirty, and touchy, but he knew of your inexperience. You were a master of the pre-sex, you were good at flirting, you knew the right thing to say, the right moment to touch. But Aegon knew if he were ever to take you to bed, you'd completely give in, and let him lead.
He'd seen you interacting with others too. You were very sweet at times, like with Baela, with little kids, and especially little babies. Your actions showed affection, your hugs were long, your words thought out, and you were attentive to those you talked to. This was the reason Aemond had taken a liking to you, as a friend even if you were much younger. He'd seen you two have discussions quite often. And sometimes it made him jealous.
You were also a brat. You'd quip, snap and even anger easily. You were social, but if someone tried to cross limits, your temper would take. Your words could be the most bitter of poisons laced in the sweetest honey. It was obvious the only way to handle you was to dominate you. Take Daemon, for example, he was sweet with you but very strict. Aegon knew about the training, and the pride Daemon held in seeing you excel at it. You were angered easily, yes, but could be subdued if caught by surprise. That's how he imagined you in bed, obedient but demanding, bratty but submissive. You'd top him only with his guidance, only if he asked you to and taught you to, and he'd still be in control. He'd teach you things about him, about your own body. The thoughts made his cock twitch, and he threw you another glance.
Little Aegon on your chest had stirred, and you calmed him as he moved his head, resting on your plush chest, his hand gripping the neckline of your top. The baby had luck, Aegon thought, internally scoffing at himself for being borderline jealous of a baby. He lifted his head to see Daemon looking at him, a lazy gaze settled as if the rogue prince was waiting for him to mess up, so he could pounce. Aegon struck up a conversation with his brother, who eyed him ever so often regarding you.
Beala and you slowly chatted as you ate your food, conversation striking all across the table. "Well if you girls are going to be packing for Bora Bora, who's gonna take the high Valyrian classes?" questioned Daemon, and both of you groaned. Studies you shared with Baela, though you studied biology, she studied psychology. But nonetheless, both of you studied High Valyrian, History and English together. Both of you planned to study from home till you turned twenty and jump straight to majoring in your specific fields. Rhaenyra laughed at your reactions, until Baela chimed up, "Luke, Rhaena and Joff should be the ones being taught, maybe we should leave Jace behind, have you heard his Valyrian?" Baela laughed, and you snorted at Jace's defeated look.
It was true, Jace suffered quite a bit with the language. "I was literally kidnapped, and I spoke Valyrian properly Jace," Dany teased, referring to her mom keeping her and Viserys away from the family till Dany had turned thirteen and Rhaegar decided to intervene, taking his younger siblings with him away from their abusive household. "Alright, don't go on making him cry now," Rhaenyra laughed, snickers rising from across the room and Jace groaned.
"Welp, I guess we're leaving Jacey behind, enjoy the stormy beaches," you shrugged, giggling at Jace whose eyes bugged out of his head, air-fiving Dany from across the table. "I still don't understand why we can't go," Rhaena whined. Luke shook his head in agreement. "Not getting into this again," Baela sighed, shoving her food into her mouth.
Lunch was finished soon, and Aeggie had woken from his slumber, crying. "Awww, don't cry baby," you cooed, trying to make him stop. "Give him here, he must be hungry," said Ana, walking over to you as she took the baby from you, who screamed louder before becoming completely silent as he was handed a bottle. "Just like you brother," snickered Daeron. "You'd be writhing in pain but the moment you're handed a bottle, all's well," Daeron made eye contact with his mother before hiding his smirk behind his hands, all of you silently laughing as Aegon frowned. But most of it fell deaf on his ears as he saw you, lips completely sealed off by your palm as you covered your flushed face with your hair, trying not to laugh. "Alright, that's enough," said Daemon. The laughing stopped, but Aegon was sure that order was directed not in his defence, but towards him. Nonetheless, you went back to your room, laughing along with Baela.
By the time night fell, the living room was filled up with items of luggage as arguing came from your room from the next room. "No, not that one, I'll look like a whore," your voice came. "Isn't that the point?" Baela's annoyed voice retorted. "No, I wanna look sexy, I don't wanna look like a prostitute," you said, making Alicent groan at the brash discussion between you girls as the argument continued. Everyone was sitting in the living room, your room was only a floor above, and your audible arguments made it clear you'd forgotten to shut the door. "Why couldn't we just go tomorrow, this is a nightmare," you whined again. "Bitch, Bora Bora is worth this," Baela quipped. "Well, of course, you'd say that, you were probably packed last month," you said, Baela's loud groan of frustration was the only reply. You blamed yourself. Both you and Baela had decided to laze around in your room, and when the time to board was only an hour away, Viserys called you to ask if you were done. Since then panic has sprung across your room.
"Alright, Alright, Alright. Let's just make a plan, we still have forty-five minutes," you finally said. "Forty-four, now but ok. We have seven days, we need two flight outfits, seven outfits for the day, seven for the evening, seven for the night, seven to sleep in, seven for swimming and seven pairs of lingerie. I'm thinking three extra pairs of nightwear, bikinis and lingerie," you finished.
"Plus we need to plan footwear and jewellery for each outfit, plus makeup, skincare, hair and body stuff," Baela added, "and a toothbrush," you added. It was actually quite funny for the family listening to you two pack. Nonetheless, you came up victorious with the plan and had everything laid out on the bed, only needing to pack it all, Baela had gone to her room, left of yours and done the same. Then you girls switched rooms and scanned each other's things, came back out, approved of each other's choices and went back to your own rooms to pack everything.
By the time you girls were finished packing, you had almost been reduced to tears while Baela was rethinking every single outfit she packed. Your luggage had been brought down a few minutes before you came down the stairs, promising each other to buy outfits if you didn't like what you had already packed. But once you were surrounded by everyone, your entire group hugged the rest goodbye and boarded the jet.
Aemond and Rhaegar had decided to sit at the far back, followed by Helaena and Dany. This was the quiet part of the flight. They had been speaking quietly, not much, just silly conversation. Then sat Viserys, Jace and Aegon, they were planning what to do, discussing destinations and all. In the free space of the jet in the front stood you, Baela, and Daeron. Aegon had butted out of the discussion soon, rotating his seat so he could speak to Daeron. But even that had been short-lived for he simply retired to rubbing his fingers over the cold beer bottle as he watched you, seat almost completely reclined. He had sunglasses on so you couldn't see his gaze. But he was completely enamoured.
The stress of packing had you and Baela completely unwinding on the flight. Both of you had downed three shots and had ended up dancing with each other. Aegon watched you swaying your hips, arms going over Daeron's neck often as you three sang out some stupid rap. You had very little tolerance and had resolved to become a tumbling, giggling mess already. Baela was pretty much the same. Jace, Viserys and Daeron all sat in the front, drinking, and playing cards, and were responsible for the music,
Ever so often Daeron would walk up, always to you. Aegon didn't like how his brother was almost a spitting image of himself, so you'd let loose around him too, he wasn't the same as Aegon obviously, but in your mind, it'd do, and Aegon knew that. The kids would cheer as you and Daeron danced together, your hands on his neck, his hands on your waist. You were slurring out the lyrics, Daeron laughing nonstop as he sang along with you, his deep voice a sharp contrast with your high-pitched one. A turbulence had you falling into his arms, him catching you easily as you leant onto him completely, laughing into his shoulder. Aegon's knuckles had become white from the tight grip on his bottle, his irritation turning to anger when Daeron turned to him, eyes directly with his, he knew he was watching. A slight smirk rested on his face, soon turning back to you.
You guys' party had only lasted for a few hours, because two hours later or so, Baela and you had completely worn out. To Aegon's utter delight, sometime after you guys were done with the music, you'd sat on your seat in front of Aegon and spun it so you'd be facing him. Nobody really paid attention to the both of you, Baela was sitting on one edge, talking with Jace quietly as the three boys plus her and Dany played uno. The ones behind them were either asleep or typing away, although Aegon suspected that it was just Aemond, who couldn't be less bothered with anything. You tapped his arm, waiting for him to reply as you sat on the edge of your seat, hands resting on your knees. He lifted up his glasses.
"Why didn't you dance with us?" you asked, a slight pout on your plump lips that he couldn't look away from, your breaths were slightly heavy and you were still off balance. Apparently sometime during the dancing you had downed two more shots. "Hello?" you questioned, dragging out the word when he didn't answer. "Didn't feel like it," he shrugged. He didn't know why, but he liked playing games with you. Acting indifferent just made you more incessant with him. He loved it. "So you're just going to sleep through the whole flight?" you said, a frown evident on your face. Aegon wondered if he had been a little too indifferent.
"Maybe, do you have something in mind?" he asked. You looked up at the ceiling, taking your lower lip between your teeth as you thought. Suddenly your eyes gleamed.
"Wanna watch a movie?" you asked. Aegon saw an opportunity.
"Where would we sit? Two separate seats for a laptop screen is too far," he said, you frowned again. While Aegon had known you were flirtatious, he knew you wouldn't be too bold with him. Though he basically threw you a bone of an opportunity, he wasn't sure you'd take it. And when your frown didn't budge, he sat up, face coming closer to yours as he leaned towards you, eyes boring into yours."How about you sit in my lap? The seat's big enough for both of us," you smiled at his suggestion. "Okay," you said, colour flowing onto your cheeks, fingers reaching for the laptop bag kept on your table.
Aegon laid back again, his seat had already been adjusted to the point of basically being a bed. "Come on then," he said, and you stood up, turning around and sitting on the edge of his seat before scooting towards him until your back hit his chest, you moved your head to one of his shoulders before turning around, forgetting what you were going to say when you realised how close you actually were.
"Something on your mind?" he questioned, a lazy smile settling on his face at your expression. "I-uh, yeah umm, can you see the screen?" you breathed out. He could smell the cherry lollipop you'd been eating to mask the vodka on your breath.
"Yeah, no issues," he shrugged, snaking his arms around your waist like a seatbelt. He watched you basically squirm under his gaze, your smile only growing wider as you blushed more. Aegon was loving this, he couldn't give half a flying fuck about the movie if he could be doing this with you for two more hours. Testing your limits and watching you squirm. Your eyes went back to the laptop as you opened Netflix, you'd lifted one leg up, and balanced your other hip somewhere along his thigh as your head rested on his shoulder. "What do you wanna watch?" you asked him, not turning around this time, you didn't trust yourself.
"Anything," he simply said, one hand playing with the hem of your shirt. Your hair smelled like your shampoo, with a hint of sweat too. He'd rested his head back. "Grown-ups?" you questioned. "I don't think I know it," he said. "It's a comedy, see?" you clicked on it for him to read. He nodded, knowing he wasn't going to be watching it, but wouldn't hurt if it were a comedy. You played it, relaxing back into Aegon's chest.
You'd be giggling here and there, pointing out all of the numerous celebrities that kept showing up. It had been ten minutes into the movie when Aegon's hold slightly relaxed, his hands going back as one of his rubbed small circles on the outer side of your thigh, maybe a little close to your ass but he blamed it on your shorts. It was a very absent-minded move, but he felt you tense slightly. He saw the goosebumps rise on your flesh. A smirk grew on his lips. "Are you cold?" he asked, his fingers now grabbing your thigh as he moved his thumb across your skin slowly. You cleared your throat. "No," you squeaked. You could feel his breath on your neck, your heart had been exploding. Nonetheless, you looked back at the screen, mind focused solely on the hand on your thigh.
You'd passed out in less than halfway through the movie. Aegon's movements had at the beginning been invasive but soon became relaxing until it almost lulled you to sleep. Aegon softly called out to you, but you didn't say anything. He grabbed the laptop, turned it off and dumped it on the table next to his seat. Aegon had also gotten tired. It was around 4 am on Dragonstone right now, so pretty late for you all. You'd slightly stirred and moved to rest your head on his chest sideways as you curled your legs up slightly, cold no doubt. Aegon had one hand resting on your thigh as he drifted to sleep as well, the smell of you enough to relax him more than two Xanax.
He'd woken to find the frowning face of his brother sitting in front of him, you still in the same position, fast asleep. When his gaze didn't waver, Aegon slightly groaned. "What do you want?" he whispered, voice thick with sleep. "What are you doing?" Daeron asked, annoyed. "Sleeping," he shrugged. "She's basically a child," he said. "What does her being an infant have to do with anything?" he quipped. "Aegon you know this is wrong," Daeron huffed, sitting back in his chair, most people were still asleep.
The sky was a warm orange colour. "She's just using me for warmth, what's the big deal in that," he said, bored of the conversation. Daeron was far too annoying sometimes. "You know how she feels about you," he finally said. Though he did not want to speak out the truth. Aegon smirked. "And how are her feelings about anyone any of your concern, dear brother?" Aegon asked. "Because you'll just end up using her," he said. This didn't feel right. Aegon put his head back, eyebrows furrowed in thought. Would he actually just use you, or did he feel something for you too? His hands absent-mindedly rubbed circles on your thigh again. He closed his eyes again. He'd rather sleep than think.

hello!!! Any chance you’d be willing to write an Ezra x Reader with opal and winter??? I read your other Ezra fic and liked it so much I wanted to see another one! Preferably while he’s still with the ghost crew (like 18 or 19), if ya can! Thanks so much 😀
Life Day Conversations
Summary: It’s hard, being on the run from the Empire. You signed up for it, sure, but it’s still hard. Luckily, Ezra is always there to help you feel better about the choices you made.
Pairing: Ezra Bridger x Reader
Word Count: 722
Prompt: Opal - Faithful Love
Warnings: Kind of bittersweet, based off of what I know happens to Ezra
Tagging: @trixie2023 @n0vqni @imabeautifulbutterfly
A/N: So, I still haven't watched Rebels. I just don't have the time, so I hope I didn't butcher him too badly. And I'm sorry if I did.
Tumblr media
“Are you sure you want to stay out here?” Hera asks from the ramp of the ship, shivering as she pulls the thick winter jacket tighter around her, “It’s freezing.”
You glance at her, and flash the smallest smile, “Yeah. Just a little longer. I won’t stay out long, promise.”
“I’ll hold you to it. We can’t afford anyone catching pneumonia.” You hear the sound of her clomping back up the ramp, and you sigh and tilt your head back, your eyes drifting shut.
1 year.
It’s been one year since the day you defected from the empire. A year since the last time you saw your parents, your siblings, your nephews.
You don’t regret it. Not really.
The Empire is made up of monsters, the worst kinds of monsters. Monsters who look like your next door neighbor.
But you’ve never felt so alone in all your life.
Though, you’re fairly certain that your loneliness stems from the fact that this is the first major holiday away from your family. And as much as you love Hera and Kannan and Jacen…you can’t help but feel like you’re intruding.
You release a slow breath, your eyes opening again as you feel something cold and wet against your cheek. “Huh. It’s snowing-”
How…sad.
It fits your mood perfectly.
“Knock, knock.” You start at the familiar voice from behind you, and you turn to blink at Ezra, “I know you don’t like it when people just barge in, but I figure since there’s no doors-” He trails off, “I bring hot cocoa?”
“Hera is going to kill you if she catches you out here.” You note as you slide over on the boulder to let him join you.
“Pft. I’m not afraid of her.” Ezra hands you both thermos and jumps up to join you, before taking his thermos back, “I also brought a blanket, to ward off the cold.”
You shoot him a look, “What’s wrong, Bridger? Can’t handle a little cold?”
“Hera will kill both of us if either of us get sick, so scoot in. We’re gonna get cozy.”
“I thought you weren’t afraid of her.”
“Wasn’t me, must have been the devil speaking through me.” Ezra says solemnly, before he tucks the blanket around himself and then you, “So, why are you looking so glum?”
“I’m not.”
“Are too. What, you think I can’t tell what you’re feeling?” You scowl at him and he grins as he taps your temple, “Jedi, remember.”
“Cheater.”
“Is it cheating to use your god given powers-”
“Yes.”
He laughs, and drapes his arm over your shoulder, “Come on. It’s just me.”
You’re quiet for a moment, and then you sigh and drop your head on his shoulder, “It’s my first Life Day without my family. I suppose I’m feeling a little…melancholic.”
“You having second thoughts?”
“No.” You shake your head, “Just…feeling a bit lonely.”
“Well, that’ll happen when you’re sitting out in the cold rather than celebrating with your chosen family,” Ezra points out gently, “What’s really bothering you?”
“...I don’t know.” You pause, and pull your knees up to rest your chin on them, “What happens when you leave?”
“Hey, I’m not going anywhere.”
“Sure, you say that now-”
“No.” He turns to face you and holds his pinky out for you to hook, “I’m not leaving you. Not now. Not ever.” He wiggles his pinky at you, “You know a pinky promise is eternal.”
“What are you, five?”
“Five times more fun than you.” Ezra quips. “Come on, even if I do have to go away for whatever reason, I’m always going to come back to you.”
“Until you don’t.”
“Nope. Always. Forever. I’ll always be faithful to you. I love you after all.”
You sigh and hook your finger with his, “Then, I hope you know that I’ll always be faithful to you too.”
Ezra beams at you and uses your joined fingers to tug you in so he’s able to kiss you, “Now, we’d better get back inside before Hera sends Sabine after us.”
“Oh…well…”
Ezra hops down off the boulder, and offers you his hand with a blinding smile, “Come on, gorgeous. It’s Life Day, you shouldn’t be alone.”
You release a quiet sigh, but slide down the boulder to take his hand.
Maybe change isn’t so bad after all.

A/N: I have no idea how to actually write so pls pls pls forgive me. I also used like a character building guide question thing so forgive me if shit's a bit too long. I just love reading stories where the main character is built well. I'm a very very very novice writer, so pls shoot me a message on how I can improve my writing!
"So you two aren't together?" Phoenix leaned into the counter, asking about you and Robbie (Bob).
"I mean we did try that one time." You scrunched your nose.
"Oh, it was horrid. We were kids that were pressured into it. Holding hands felt fine, but when we tried to kiss, it felt like I was kissing an actual sister I had." Robbie explained further.
"I'm sorry if I was given the wrong idea. Bob absolutely adores you and talks about you endlessly. I can't see why he wouldn't though." She winked as you laughed.
"Oh, you should have seen Robbie back then. He was a little ladies man back in high school! The bad boy with that cowboy hat and curly hair."
"Ohhh, Bob being a ladies man, huh?" Phoenix raised her eyebrows teasingly at him, him scowling at you for bringing it up.
Smiling cheekily, you reached over to poke him before going back with your rag on the counter. You knew he missed you, it was quite a while since you've seen each other. They had been assigned out of California for a while. Today was the first day you met all of Robbie's friends and you were quite excited. Him you saw back home last Christmas, so you cared less about his face. It was refreshing though, how you felt like you five were friends for years. The other two, Micky and Reuben, running off to the bathroom from drinking too much at the bar across.
You worked at The Greasy Spoon, a diner right across the popular Navy bar. It was where some of the guys would hang out after the bar had closed. As all the places near the base were mandated to only be open Wednesday to Friday until 8 PM, Arthur, your 65-year-old veteran boss, was able to fight to be opened until 12 AM.
The bell by the door suddenly rang meaning the door had opened. You shot up from the counter and immediately got the menus, quickly shuffling your way over to the entrance door. It was Arthur's request that the diner would feel like home, servers would be dressed like 50s wives and husbands, greeting soldiers at the door like his wife did for him when he'd come home. It sounded a little misogynistic but the way Lucinda had clung to his arm giggling while he told that story had you swooning. Tonight, you were the only server left since service was usually slow at night. Most patrons of the Hard Deck were either going home or getting lucky.
You softly winced as your hip had come in contact with the slightly misaligned table.
"Are you good, sweetheart?" The brunette asked concerned, his hands hovering above your waist that got hit.
"Welcome to The Greasy Spoon. How may I be of service today?" You said winded from the pain, slowly straightening yourself up.
Your face was still somewhat smiling to keep up your cheery retail personality. Rooster's mouth was unable to hide the smile that was growing on his because of your cute pained expression.
Like Pavlov's dogs, you associated the bell ringing with a straight posture and turning on your biggest smile but that was blocked by the brunette's head, both of you wincing. With the blonde that had just entered backwards, laughing and pushing around with his buddy that have yet to step in the door, bumped the Hawaiian shirt wearing man forward into you.
You flinched, head tilting down, shoulders rising up, as he stumbled forward knocking you off your balance a little.
"Woah there." He held onto your waist, stopping your from completely tipping over. "Sorry 'bout that. I promise I don't go knocking pretty girls around to get their attention."
"I promise I don't go bumping heads with pretty brunettes." You laughed.
"See? Rooster's already picking up- Siren?" Your head whipped to the blonde that was standing behind. Siren, a nickname you haven't heard in a while. After pranking Robbie (Bob) and his brother, everyone who knew you would soon enough learn of it.
"I knew I recognized that big head somewhere." You smiled coming close to hug him. Jake Seresin was a piece of work but he was a lovely country boy you met back in Texas, him having 'special relations' with your cousin, Carlos (or Caloy as he was known in the family). No one really knew that he was gay, he mentioned when you sat down to talk to him about him sleeping around. The pretty girls he took home were all just for show. Well, at first it wasn't, until he finally accepted that he was for the other team. The over masculinized persona was just hiding a man who really wanted to be loved by another man.
You laughed as he picked you up. "I missed you, momma bear." He muffled onto your shoulder. Another nickname that stuck after you practically ate him alive when he and Carlos had broken up about a million times. After accepting how they weren't gonna work out, they decided to lay it off and hook up whenever the other was in town. "Just as long as everyone's on the same page and no one's getting hurt." You said.
"I see you've met Rooster." He said as he put you down.
"Oh yeah, we're very well acquainted." You turned to look at the boy.
"That's Coyote." 'Rooster' pointed to the other tall man standing next to Jake.
"Oh yeah, I know him. Double cheese, triple patty, ketchup on the side, and a slice of banana chocolate chip bread?"
"Tastes almost like home." Javy smiled, patting Jake's shoulder who made their way to the counter to join the two, with Mickey and Reuben walking back to their seats from their trip in the toilet.
"Well, seems like you know everyone already." The brunette said with a sheepish smile scratching the back of his head.
"Oh yeah, you're practically useless, chicken." You laughed at his taken aback expression as you tugged him over to join the group.
The night was just starting for the group as you learned. They had just come home from their detachment, holiday plans were being discussed by the group. They explained how they spoke about holiday plans early into the year, helped them keep sane while they were away from home, thinking about what was waiting for them when they did. Everyone was excited, talking about how they were going to come home while Rooster, the man you still didn't catch the name of, kept quiet.
"Hey, what about you?" You asked softly, making sure not to overstep.
"Hm?" His eyes drifting behind you, staring at the multitude of candy syrups for the shaved ice.
"Any holiday plans or you're not much for the holiday spirit?"
"Ah," His eyes travelled up to your face, smiling sadly. "I guess not, no."
Both of you had gotten close, with him staying in Fightertown much longer than the others. Being tired after hours, he'd come around The Greasy Spoon to eat something before he went home. You staying to accompany him in his booth as he ate.
It was late, so you were shocked when the bell on the door rang. "Arthur! Lucinda!" You smiled, rushing over to hug them. They weren't the typical bosses, you almost felt as if they were your grandparents.
"Hey, sweetie. We'll be staying upstairs for tonight, Arthur and I wanted to lay down on the beach tomorrow." Lucinda referred to the little suite they had made on top of the restaurant for when they visited.
"Oh, and who is that young man there?" Arthur asked, walking towards Bradley who was doodling on a piece of tissue.
Arthur and Lucinda meeting Bradley was nerve wracking. For some reason, you had this feeling that you wanted them to approve of him, and it was easy for them to. Bradley was smooth and respectful, the night ending with the two owners practically pushing you out to "be kids, have fun!" and you whining about how you're 28 and not a kid. Your mustached friend offering to accompany you home when you started walking, him trailing close by. You told him how much you loved passing by the beach as you walked home, the humid air and the cold breeze reminding you of how it was back at home, back when you were a kid in the Philippines. With Rooster glistening with sweat, and you laughing at how he looked, you invited him in to stay the night.
"You said your apartment was nearby."
"Old man, I said my apartment is at Kingby which is a street that is a 45-minute walk from the diner." You laughed, handing him a glass of water. "I'll get you some of my cousin's clothes and a towel. You stink. Just get your jeep tomorrow."
It happened more often as time passed that he stayed late until you closed up. You figured he stayed because it was lonely being without the rest of his friends back at the apartment he had near the base, but he did it so he could make sure you got home safe after learning that this was your nightly routine. On nights that you were more tired than usual, he'd drive you but sometimes he'd walk you 'forcing' him to sleep on your couch for the night.
You had known each other for 10 months before you thought to ask, ensuring that Rooster wasn't absolutely going to murder you and your family. You didn't know how you managed to get Bradley to actually come with but it did work after hours and hours of pleading. And that's how he ended up at your family house back in Wabang, Wyoming where you had originally met Robbie (Bob) and his brothers, where all of you had grown up.
Rooster heard you coming in the room when you switched the lights on. He just kept his eyes closed, listening to what you were up to while you came in and out of the room. You went around the bed getting your phone that was charged which was connected to the mini JBL bluetooth speaker that Kuya Caloy got you last Christmas, playing a calm OPM Christmas song.
Rooster took note of how the song sounded. It was pretty, it sounded exactly how he thought what you'd like to listen to. He couldn't understand the lyrics but the melody of it was enough to bring a soft smile to his face before immediately turning it neutral again to feign his sleep while you softly padded back outside. The little shuffling of your feet that he has memorized came shortly after with the scent of warm milk sifting through the air and the sound of the door clicking close followed by a sharp locking sound.
He felt you looking at him, the warmth of your gaze burning on his cheeks. A soft smile growing on your face when you saw how his face had relaxed that the usual stress that you read on his face. He was the responsible one of the group. Always tense, always on-guard, even as he had fun and laughed with the group, his eyes darted around to make sure everyone was included and everyone was okay.
"Bradley?" You shook him softly. He kept his eyes closed so you wouldn't know that he was awake all this time. "Bradley, come, wake up." You knelt down infront of him, hand touching his face. "Bradley, wake up, caro." Your thumb rubbing on his cheeks, his eyes finally fluttering open.
"Hey."
"Hey." He smiled back.
You looked at each other for a while before you took your hand off his face. "I'm sorry." You smiled sheepishly, standing up and sitting on the edge of the bed facing Rooster. "I wasn't sure how to wake you up, I didn't want to be rude and be loud."
"It's okay. It's nice to be woken up without yelling and whistles for once." He stretched himself and sat up.
"I wasn't sure if I should wake you up but it's tradition for everyone in the house to wait for the clock to strike 12 for Christmas. We don't get to have New Years Eve together so we decided to do it for Christmas instead." You shrugged looking down at your hands.
"It's lovely, chick. I haven't been part of any Christmas traditions in a while so I appreciate you for letting me be a part of yours." He said softly reaching your hands to squeeze them lightly, making you feel warm.
It wasn't usual for you to feel shy around him. If anything, you were the one who took joy in teasing him and making him flustered. You didn't know where these feelings came from so suddenly. You did quite like him already but something about him being in pajamas and looking so casual made your heart flutter. Everything just felt somewhat domestic.
"Good thing my mom would absolutely murder me if she learned that I let someone spend it alone or else you would've been all alone this Christmas." You smiled teasingly at him to try and ignore the feeling in your stomach that was growing.
"Well, I'll make sure to give her some special lovins when I get down then. Heard she and her husband were separated, possibly might need someone to fill the spot?" He teased back.
You gasped, grabbing a pillow and smacking him in the face with it. "If you wanted me to call you daddy, you don't need to do all that." You rolled you eyes, mouth running before you could even think, suddenly blushing.
Rooster couldn't respond, instead he hit you back with a pillow too. That went on for a while until he accidentally hit your head with full force. Your jaw dropped looking at him.
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" He apologized looking at you, pulled your head onto his chest and rubbing it.
You pushed him hard, his back falling onto the bed as you grabbed a pillow to smack his head with it. "You don't." Smack. "Hit a girl." Smack. "That hard." Smack. "In pillow fights!" Smack.
"I'm sorry!" He said as you both started giggling as you attacked him with the pillow. You were straddling him, your short frame needing to be high up on his torso so you could even hit him. You didn't realize it but Rooster was flushed by how close you were.
"Okay, okay, enough." You said seeing the clock with a bright LED white 11:50 PM written on it. "I got you a little snack to wake your stomach up before we join everyone downstairs." You reached over the bed, one hand steadying you near Rooster's head to get to the bedside table and getting what he presumed was what he smelled the first time you went up. "I brought you hot chocolate balls too but I thought that maybe you'd want to pour the warm milk yourself. I didn't know how much cream and syrup you wanted either so I just brought them up." You unlatched yourself off his torso and on the side of it so he could sit up. He found it cute, how you sat on your feet eager to see him try everything that you brought for him.
He got the fork from the little plate and ate something that was like bread on a leaf. It was sweet but a little salty. It felt like cornbread but it wasn't. You giggled as you saw his confused face getting a second bite.
"Oh, I failed to mention. You should get ready for the aunties downstairs. Everyone came while you were napping." You said while fixing how you were sat.
"What should I get ready for?" He asked as he took more bites of the bread-like thing in front of him.
"Just the comments of how tall you are, possible touching of your arms or shoulders, possible assumptions that you might be my boyfriend." You blushed. "I'm not sure how inappropriate they might get. I haven't brought home a boy. Well, except, Robbie— I mean, Bob. But that's different, he's been coming here since grade school so that doesn't count."
"I always wondered about you and Bob." He wondered.
"Hm, what about us?" You asked. His eyes widened realizing that he did say it out loud.
"At first we thought you were his girlfriend with how he spoke of you." He said eating his next bite.
"Ahhh." You laughed. "Robbie and I go way back, we met in grade school when we first moved here. Mom was having a hard time going through the divorce and I was alone at a potluck. He had his brothers, and they wanted a little sister so they took me under their wing, seeing all the bullying and stuff at school. They were the cool kids so being attached at their hip protected me too which was nice. His family practically treated me as their own."
"Ah, well, Bob and his family seems like a nice bunch then." He smiled softly, slightly jealous at how close you both were.
"So much so that our family spends time with them a lot. Anyways, how's the food?"
"The first bite was a bit weird but it's somewhat addicting. It's sweet and salty but it's nothing I've tasted before. It's delicious." He said, shovelling a bigger bite into his mouth.
"It's bibingka- coconut cream, cheese, and salted egg, all together. No one would think that it would taste good at first glance but weirdly, it does. Tastes delicious dipped in hot chocolate too." You motioned your lips towards the table.
He looked at you confused, you could practically see question marks floating on top of his head.
You laughed, picking up the mug. He took it, smiling at how cute it was. There was a literal hot chocolate ball in it.
"Ah, the hot chocolate. I thought you were kissing some Christmas ghost in the air or something."
You got the warm milk and handed it to him. "Why, you rather it was you?"
He laughed at your response, taking the milk from your hands. Both of you watched as it melted the ball. Completing the cup, you held it as he added a tower of whipped cream and a bit of chocolate syrup on top.
"Oop!" You exclaimed as a bit of the hot chocolate spilled out as you passed it back to him. Out of habit, you swiped your finger up the cup and stuck it in your mouth, you didn't even realize how he stared at you in adoration. She's so cute, he thought as he brought the cup to his lips to sip. You giggled when he pulled it away, cream stuck on his moustache.
"What?" He asked, oblivious.
"Nothing!" You smiled, cheekily. "Now try it with the bibingka." You said excited, getting the plate and dipping the bibingka into the hot chocolate, holding it up to his mouth.
He stared at the fork, hesitating for a second before taking a bite. "Mmm! That is good." He said with his mouth full. He wasn't kidding. It was great.
"It should be. I made everything." You teased.
"Well, now it isn't as good." He said jokingly, getting a glare.
"Shut up, pornstache. I'm trying to be nice for Chrismas here." You whined.
"It's good, Y/N. It's really good." He smiled which you returned. You fell into silence, clinks of the fork and the plate, and his sips were the only things heard. You sat there to watch him finish, stealing a few sips of the hot chocolate as well, blushing, thinking about how the scene playing out between you felt. You thought of how your lips touched the same cup his did, your cheeks reddening, something that Rooster mistook for just warmth from the hot chocolate. It was such a middle school thought, indirect kiss.
"I'm sorry I couldn't really get you anything expensive but I still wanted to get you a gift, so here. I've washed it so wear it when you come down if you want." You said, handing him a paper bag. "I'll be downstairs, okay? Come follow soon." You took the dishes leaving him in the room.
You opened the door again before he had opened his gift, smiling at him as you did. "Oh, and wipe your damn face."
You secretly wished he'd wear it. It was a sweater you've been knitting for him with a special message inside when he'd take it off. It was designed with a scene of a story told by Maverick, told to you by the other members of the squad which you found hilarious. He laughed when he saw it. It was a vague scene of pine trees, snow, and a little Mav pushing him in anger during the uranium mission. You didn't sew on a full face on him, but he knew that it was him by the pronounced mustache you gave the man in the sweater.
He hasn't gotten a real Christmas present in a while. I mean the cash was nice during his teenage years, and a few beer bottles were appreciated from his teammates when they invited him out for a Christmas drink, but this was really thoughtful.
You blushed as you walked down, thinking about how you would've kissed Bradley's cream-stache away if you could. You shook away your thoughts, busying yourself in the kitchen with your mom and aunties. You were the one making sure everything tasted right. Everyone assisted in cooking but it fell on you how everything tasted. There was a wide variety of food that were Noche Buena classics with a couple of just general Filipino event classics— honeyed ham, lechon, fried chicken, pansit, spaghetti, rice, buko pandan, bibingka, puto bumbong, and mango graham. It was more than enough for everyone in the house but somehow with all the takeouts for other people who took food home, there was always nothing left.
"Ay anak, where's Bradley? He should come and meet everyone." Your mom asked. "Ay, my child, where's Bradley? He should come and meet everyone."
"He'll be coming down soon, mama. Just getting ready. He went to nap, remember? He's used to sleeping early." You smiled towards your excited mom.
"Uy! Sino si Bradley? Am I gonna finally gonna get an apo sa tuhod?" Your lola exclaimed. "Uy! Who's Bradley? Am I gonna finally gonna get great-grandchildren?"
"Ay mama, ang pogi pogi, ang tangkad, at ang bait pa jusko!" Your mom said to her mother. "Kung ganyan ang magiging manugang ko, aba, bakit hindi?" "Ay mama, he's so handsome, so tall, and so kind, my goodness!" "If my son-in-law would be him, gosh, why not?"
"Mamaaaa, please, he's just a friend." You whined as you wiped your hands off at the small hand towel attached to your pants, removing it and setting it on a hook, moving out the kitchen into the dining room where you saw Bradley interacting with your little cousin.
"You know, I fly planes too!" He exclaimed to Sasa, who was listening to him intently. He took her plane toy and explained to her with it how they'd fly up and down. You smiled at how cute they looked, Rooster looked up and noticed. He ruffled the little kid's hair before making his way to you.
"Starting the propaganda on the youngens, I see." You teased.
"Have to get the recruits somehow." He nudged you back, as you rolled your eyes. He was fucking impossible. Always had a comeback for you.
You walked him towards the table where all the food was. The food filled the table so no one ate there except for the elderlies who you've taken note to make space for. Most people were either standing while they were eating on whatever flat surface they could find, in the living room, or just sitting on the floor— talking, laughing, eating.
"Mama, lola, Bradley's here!" You yelled as the two came rushing out of the kitchen giggling.
You leaned over the table to get a piece of puto bumbong to stuff in your mouth while the two approached them.
"Uy, Bradley, what are your intentions with my apo, ha?" Your lola had said to Bradley making you choke on your snack. "Hey, Bradley, what are your intentions with my granddaughter, ha?"
"Lola—"
She shushed you. "Bradley, my apo, she may be dense but I'm not. She's beautiful, and she cooks well. Not so good at the love department, but she's smart in other things."
"Lolaaa." You whined as Rooster smiled at you cheekily.
"Ma'am, I assure I have nothing but pure intentions for your apo. She's a lady, and I am a gentleman." He nodded, satisfied with what he said.
"Mhm, yeah, my daughter, a lady? That's new." Your mom laughed making you whine and pull Rooster away by his arm, but he resisted wanting to hear more.
"Ay anak, jusko, you can't blame me. How can I think of you as a ladylike woman when you play the most with Robert and that bull rider brother of his? Hay nako, Bradley, my daughter here. As amazing she is at swimming, she's a little troublemaker."
"Mama, that was one timeeee. They were teasing me."
"Sus, I know you did it more than once. Gave the town a heart attack each time." She grumbled. "I'm so sorry, Bradley, you don't know the story." She reached over to hold his arm as she continued, "Y/N, here, decided to fall off the boat and fake drowning to scare the two."
"They were rocking the boat to scare me, mama. I just wanted to scare them back."
"The water was freezing, anak, and you were down there for long enough that even the lifeguards had thought you'd drowned too."
"Scared them enough to stop teasing me though." You smiled cheekily at your mom who squished your face in annoyance.
"Hay nako, Bradley, you have to forgive me for raising such a little stubborn girl. Gladly you've been able to put up with her."
"Oh, Ms. Degamo, you have no idea how hard it's been." He feigned, charming your mom by using Miss and her maiden name.
"Ayayay, you come with me and take time away from her then. Come get some food then let me introduce you to the rest of the family." She grabbed onto his bicep.
As he was getting led away, he mouthed teasingly, "I'm gonna be your dad." which you responded with a middle finger.
"Y/N." She warned even as her back was turned.
"Sorry, ma!"
With that, you started packing some lumpia for Robbie and his brothers- Rhett, Harrison, Miles, and Luke, all practically the same person but in different fonts. They'd kill each other at the Christmas table, but they'd kill for each other if someone outside the family had said something bad about the other. Their father was a sweet man, Bill, who was the town's livestock veterinarian. It was absolute hell when you stayed over because of all the whining animals that you heard but it was fun because of your silly little girl crush on their dad.
"You know, with how much food you pack for them during Christmas, one would think you were sweet on one of the brothers." Carlos came around to tease you. You were both the eldest cousins in the family, the next one who came after you was still in high school going through the 'I hate my family' phase.
"As long as they didn't know I was sweet on their dad." You shushed him as his jaw dropped, you laughing out loud which caught Bradley's attention raising an eyebrow at you. You shrugging him off and going out to meet the boys who always arrived exactly at 11:55 before heading to the bar. Since Mrs. Floyd left, the boys and their father head off to the bar and made new traditions ending the night with a good ol' line dance (or rather, the boys getting their father drunk enough to dance with them as they kept him from sobbing through Christmas Eve).
"Mr. Floyd!"
"I told you, Y/N. It's Bill."
"And I told you, Mr. Floyd, you're too prominent in the town for me to call you that."
Hearing shouts and mumbles, he sighed and rolled his eyes looking back at the truck filled with the rowdy boys.
"Fine, 30 seconds, boys!" He yelled as everyone unloaded and rushed to you.
"Merry Christmas, Si!" Everyone took turns in giving you a hug and a little kiss on the head. From the outside, it would look like you were getting mauled by a pack of wolves. They opened the door and rushed in, saying hello to everyone and giving them a holiday smooch on their cheeks. Bill had come in to join them, giving the kids a fist bump then giving a kiss on the cheek to your grandma before they had to leave. Robbie (Bob) stood next to you while everyone said their quick goodbyes.
"You like him, don't you?" He said.
"Wha- who?"
"Bradley, not my father, you idiot."
"Who knows, maybe I'm sweet on your dad."
"You're disgusting."
"You're the one who gets their dick sucked off in their father's truck every Christmas Eve. That truck would light up like the town's Christmas Tree if I even get close to it with a black light."
"True."
You laughed pushing him out the front door, Bill coming to say goodbye to you with you giving him a kiss on the cheek. He said a quick thank you to everyone, the boys coming and going like a hurricane.
You had one more gift for Bradley that you forgot up in the room which you ran up to get.
"So you and Mr. Floyd, huh?" Bradley teased, you slightly jumped at his sudden presence.
"I like experienced men, what can I say?" You shrugged, focusing on searching for the little box. He choked and spilled his drink on his sweater. "Oh no, honey." You laughed, rushing over to take his drink and pat his back.
"Let me get you a shirt and get that in the laundry, it'll stain." You walked out to get a shirt from Carlos' room. Walking back in, everything got suddenly quiet with Bradley holding the sweater inside out.
"You got quite a type, Ms. Bressett." He teased, referring to your crush confession sewn on the inside of his sweater, sipping on his drink again.
"Oh yeah, it's the daddy issues, old man."
"You're such a fucking headache. Always got a comeback for me."
He was leaned on the random dresser near the door, his body blocking you from fully entering the room. You looked at his bare shoulders, your breath audibly hitching as his grin grew wider. You took the dirty sweater and stepped closer, his smug face dropping.
"How do you think I feel when your annoying ass mouth keeps running, hm?" You said just lightly above a whisper, you could feel his breath on your face now. Your heart sped up at how close you both were, his breath matching yours. He closed his eyes, his arm wrapped around your waist, gripping harder as if it was the only thing stopping him from closing the gap between you. "You never listen to me, Bradshaw." You muttered.
He hummed confused, eyes opening to meet yours that were smiling.
"Wipe your damn face, chicken." You laughed, shoving the sweater onto his face trying to run past as he smiled and rolled his eyes.
He grabbed you with one hand and pulling you closer to him as he rubbed his face onto you, smearing the whipped cream on his mustache on your cheek. You shrieked pushing your hands onto his chest but he was stronger and kept you there.
"Now, we're fair."
"10..." You heard downstairs the countdown to Christmas started.
"Bradley, come on. We're gonna miss the count." You whined, pulling him, simultaneously getting the tissues to wipe both your faces. Wiping yours first, then his, he still stood there like an idiot, not moving an inch.
"What? Do you want me to get you dressed t- mmmph!"
"1..."
His lips crashed down onto yours, a sigh falling off your lips. You could hear his breathing slow down as your hands fell onto his shoulders, feeling the dips and rises that his muscles had provided. One of his hands kept exploring while the other stayed to cup your cheek. His hands got lower gripping onto your thigh making you gasp, letting his tongue make it's way in. His hands were so big on your body that even just him holding it felt good.
He walked you backwards onto the wall, shutting and locking the door as he did. You pushed yourself forward, trying to deepen the kiss, whining when the hand that was softly cupping your cheek seconds ago wrapped around your neck to give a gentle squeeze. He pulled away kissing your flushed cheeks that he found cute.
"You ass, you made us miss the count." You whispered, eyes still closed, head floating.
"I did." He laughed, kissing down to your neck.
"I don't wanna have sex. Not yet. Especially not when my family's around."
"I'm not in a rush, chick. All at your pace." He held your face, his forehead nuzzling onto yours. "Besides, I'd love to wine and dine you before I do."
"What a gentleman." You rolled your eyes.
"Did you just roll your eyes at me, missy?"
"Get changed, pornstache. I'm hungry." He chuckled as you threw the clean shirt to his chest, putting it on himself following close by as you walked back to the living room.
The inside-out sweater that had 'I have a crush on you. Kiss me, if you like me back.' sewn on it was forgotten on the floor along with the gift you'd have to give sometime else instead.

paring: Benedict, Colin x sister! reader
warnings: none
requested by anon
"helloooo, requesting for the domestic drabble thingyy <3
Maybe a Benedict and Colin x Bridgerton sis with the scene either from that iconic pall mall scene or just with Benedict being high and stuff!! 💙🤍"
a/n: Hey, first of all, I love this request. I decided to go with pall mall scene. I know it was supposed to be a drabble, but I got carried away and it turned into an one shot, I hope you like it anon <3
I also added a song in the middle, listen to it while reading this for better experience ^^
gifs are mine, give credit if you use
summary: while playing the game, Y/n stumbles upon her childhood hideaway. She is not the only one who reminisces her childhood fondly, her older brothers realise how fast she is slipping away from their grasp.
--------------
"Let's toss a coin" Colin proposed.
"Last year we promised to let the youngest pick first", Eloise chirped in.
"Not fair", Y/n added.
In any other time, Y/n would have accepted and pulled the same 'I'm the youngest and I shall get my way' card, but she was a year older than Eloise and she did not agree to her proposal and showed her disapproval by nudging her younger sister's side.
"We pick based on alphabet order" her oldest brother demanded.
Thus the siblings began to bicker, until Daphne cut them off, sharply. "Everyone, please, now. The only fair thing to do is to let our invited guests choose their mallets and strike first" she declared with gracefulness, proving her title of a Duchess.
Anthony's demeanor changed, seemingly everyone mutually agreed to it.
The game proceeded in fast pace, many entertaining moments between the Bridgerton Siblings and the Sharma sisters taking place.
Tumblr media
"Aw so close!" Y/n let out a whine when the ball didn't pass through the iron hoop.
A teasing laugh from Colin didn't make her pout vanish. She swatted his hand away when he ruffled the top of hair.
[listen to this song - Slipping through my fingers ]
At that precise moment, to Benedict she seemed like the five year old who would tug at his hand with the same pout, asking him to get her more sweets when she knew she wasn't allowed to, not the nineteen year old who had her debut this season.
She wasn't the diamond of the season unlike his other sister, but that didn't seem to faze her one bit.
A clap on his shoulder tethered him back to reality from his reverie. "It's your turn, brother" Anthony said.
After a while, however, Miss Edwina chose to retire back to the stands and have refreshments with their mothers.
Y/n's next shot went too far to her liking.
Tumblr media
"No way! I'm not quitting" she marched bravely towards the trees following the direction of the ball went.
When she did not return after few minutes, Benedict and Colin got worried and decided to check on her.
.
The worried expression on Benedict's face eased into nostalgic one when he witnessed what his little sister was upto.
Her mallet layed carelessly on the floor next to dried ground to the mud puddle where the ball was.
She was perched on the swing that was attached to the sturdy old white oak tree. Upon hearing footsteps, she turned her neck to glance back, "Look brothers!" she moved legs, pushing the swing.
Her hair flowing in the wind, her soft blue dress swayed along the movement of the swing in gentle motion, the fabric coated in dirt. She was sure she would get an earful from her mother for it, which she choose to ignore.
The sweet, innocent smile she had on her face made Colin stop in his tracks.
He mentally swore it was the same seven year old girl Benedict and Colin used to push in the swing when they were younger. This was their place, their own little thing.
Her little legs could not reach the ground sitting on it, and sometimes Colin would perch her on his lap, holding her tightly with one hand and pushing the swings with his legs. He could still hear the echoes of her laughter.
It is as if he could see the ghosts of their sweet childhood in that moment.
"Are you alright, brother?" she asked Colin.
"Huh? Yes! I mean, yes"
She got off the swing. Grabbing her mallet, she made her way past them. The forlorn look on their eyes didn't go unnoticed by her.
When none of them moved, she called out, "Are you both coming?"
To that question, they nodded dumbly and followed her back to the game.
.
"Yes! Yes!" Y/n cheered excitedly when she got a clean shot, right through the hoop.
"Lucky one!" Anthony commented.
Y/n stuck her tongue out at her oldest brother.
"Your head is elsewhere, brother. Otherwise, you never would have given me such an easy shot" Colin said, hitting the ball easily through the iron loop.
"I will admit. My thoughts are far from the field" he admitted honestly.
Tumblr media
Colin gestured for Benedict to talk, although he had a sure guess on what was on his brother's mind and he himself was mulling over it.
"It's Y/n" Benedict wasn't sure if Colin would harbour same thought as him or he would brush him off.
But that was far from the reality, Colin too, felt it, realised it, but was hesitant to admit it openly. To admit the truth that their kid sister is not a kid anymore.
The odd melancholy.
The realisation dawned, weighed on them like a heavy iron rock had been placed over their chests.
.
.
Even after the game, they could not focus on anything else.
Every step inside the Aubrey hall reminded them of it.
Sure, of course Benedict and Colin had more young siblings to hold on to, and coddle, but that wasn't the point now. Y/n always had a special part in Benedict's heart. Soon, both of them began to reminisce fond little moments.
He remembered the very first moment she came into their lives. It was a sweet spring morning. Fragrance of Violet's fresh roses wafted gently in the air.
The sun rays greeted them pleasantly warm through the window. Violet laid on bed, her brown hair cascading down her shoulder. Edmund cooed at the baby in his arms.
Nine year old Benedict and four year old Colin's feet padded into the room, their eyes wide in excitement and curiosity.
"She is so tiny, papa" Colin made a comment.
Edmund chuckled. "She is just a baby, my boy"
Benedict's eyes never left the baby. His baby sister. "What's her name, papa?"
Edmund gave Violet a knowing look before answering, "Y/n"
"Do you wish to hold her, Benedict?" Violet's voice was soft.
Thus baby Y/n was placed on Benedict's lap. She looked up at him with her wide, baby eyes.
He leaned over and placed a gentle kiss on her head. She scrunched her tiny nose, sneezing adorably. Hearty laughs of Violet and Edmund filled the room.
"I don't know if you remember this, brother, but my name was Y/n's first word". Benedict knew it was silly but he was proud of that.
It was in this drawing room one year old baby Y/n uttered her very first word.
Anthony, Benedict and Colin fought over it. Constantly around Y/n, prompting her to say her first word. Her first word was not 'Anthony' or 'Colin' or 'Ma' like Violet had hoped.
When baby Y/n attempted to say 'Benny' in her adorable baby voice, ten year old Benedict's heart warmed. He swore to protect this little girl. His baby sister.
A bittersweet smile bloomed in his face at the memory, her cherub face was still clear on his mind. She was wearing an orange and white dress, matching her bright orange bow, adorning her soft baby hair.
"Oh, I remember" Colin shook his head with a fond smile on his face. "But you do know that I'm her favourite, right?"
Now, Colin loved all his siblings equally but Y/n was his little angel. Daphne got along well with Anthony, Eloise favoured Benedict more and Y/n was his little partner in crime.
As soon as she leaned to walk, she mirrored Colin. She was his partner in crime when he pranked his other siblings.
Both of their brothers got pulled out of their track of their sweet nostalgia by baby Augie's laughter. Y/n was bouncing her baby nephew in her arms, making silly faces and making him giggle with a wide grin plastered on her face.
Y/n was not the girl with her hair tied up in pigtails and an adorable tooth gap who wanted a piggyback ride, or the little girl who wanted to play swords with paper swords or the little girl who enjoyed tea parties.
She was a lovely young woman; she would be another man's wife and leave their family to start her own.
Benedict did not realise his eyes welled up until he felt a tear rolled down his cheek. Before anyone could notice, he turned away and quickly wiped his eyes. But Colin didn't fail to see that, but chose not to comment on it.
When did she grow up?
Time is dual.
It was both a friend and a foe. This time, it was their enemy. Oh, how they wished to keep time at bay, so they would make her linger in sweet childhood just for few moments longer.
But alas, it was inevitable.
And they decided to cherish the moments they had till she marries into another family this season.
.
When her brothers approached her with an amusing proposal, Y/n was surprised.
"You want to play in the swings again?"
"Just like we used to when we were kids" Colid said.
She knew. She knew what prompted her dear brothers.
"Well, what are we waiting for?" she chirped.
Of course she remembered the longing look on their faces earlier. If this could make them happy, she would do it.
"Last one to the swing is a rotten egg!", with that, she sprinted outside with a grin.
Colin took few seconds to register, soon, he followed her. "Feeling too old, brother?" he yelled out as he ran after Y/n.
On that calm spring evening, playing in that old, family swing, they were little children once again.
Benedict followed his siblings outside and beat them to it.

Small Lab Accident
~ Parksborn2017 one-shot, by: @magickizu (me)~
"Hey Pete, what's up?-"
"I.. I need help..now...", Harry was immediately on edge, as he heard his best friend and secret crush, speaking quietly from the other side of the phone.
"Where are you." Any other questions have to wait, if Peter Parker asks for help, it's more than serious.
"I'm in my Lab, at Horizon. Just- please hurry...?"
"I'll be there in five." With that the raven hung up and grabbed his glider, it'll be the fastest. Yes, his best friend knows that Harry is the Goblin, as well as he knows that the other is the Spiderman- just another reason to worry! If spiderman asks for help, instead of doing a solo trip- it's a deadly threat to the whole of new york or even more. Even though it was sorta weird... Harry could have sworn it sounded a little like a whine?
It's already late enough for the sun to set, and of course only Petey-boy is in school. All the better, no one saw Harry get there so fast. He hammered on the locked door.
"Pete! What happened!?" The door opens and the young Osborn stumbles as he rushes in, scanning the room to find... nothing. Well, except Peter that is, who's sitting at his desk with his hood up. Then the door closes.
"...promise you won't laugh..."
"wha-... What's going on-"
"Just promise, okay!?" Harry staggered a bit. was... Was that growling?!? Harry nods, still a bit red in the face from the speed he came in with. In return, Peter also nods and then takes his hood off...
Tumblr media
"It's really, very embarrassing. I had a little accident- just don't!" The brunette pouts, as he already sees his best friend, and also secret crush, beginning to smirk. He sighs in relief and even huffs a little chuckle. It doesn't help the fact that Peter's fluffy new uhhh... Appendages? Are tugged tightly to his body, while his whole face grows bright red in absolute embarrassment. "Aaahhrg!! It was a mistake to call you! I'm sorry...", the puppy hid in his arms, crossed on his desk. He WISHES he could just sink into the ground... Well, technically maybe not the ground, since this isn't the ground floor. So how could that even work? Where does this saying even come from? From sinkholes? Must be, since the hypothetical state of super liquid was only hypothetically found later on...or did it-
-"Damn, Peter... You really had me worried for a moment there. You okay, aside that?" Harry leans against the desk, standing next to the other, who simply nods once still hidden in arms. Slowly he calms himself down, from the thoughts of what would happen if super liquid Peter would seep into the floor. "...you know, they're not that bad?? I mean, I think- ONE MIgHt think, one, that it's... -How did it happen anyway?" The raven tries to change the topic, as he feels the heat sneak onto his face of nearly admitting to finding his best friend cute. Oh boy... Harry definitely deserves a medal for surviving this evening. Especially now: the still embarrassed, but less red, pouting puppy slowly comes out of his hoodie-fortress of solitude and, god bless, his fluffy tail's slightly wagging from the implied praise. This is way too adorable, that Harry would have ever forgiven him, if it wasn't him he called first. Never ever.
"I...I took a sample of the goo, last time one of those human-animal hybrids led us to an outpost... Since there's been an uprising of those incidents lately and the composition is different from Warren's work. These guys must've based it on his work, but complicated it to make it more efficient- the core structure is at least similar enough to believe so..." He comes out more, his tail wagging casually from his little nerdy tirade, the raven could only smile at that. What a dork... His dork. "ANYWAY!!- What I meant to say is, I just managed to break it down a little, which is why these symptoms are so small apparently..."
"Okay, that explains... your situation. Did you find out anything else?"
"Uhhh.... Yes, actually! There has to be direct skin contact with the goo, for an "infection" to start and according to my calculations, these symptoms should seize after a couple hours, due to my simplifications... But I just CAN'T go home like this!! What would aunt May say!?-" Peter drifts into a little panic, but Harry on the other hand can't really concentrate on anything other than his crush looking freaking adorable. He can't get it off his mind, most definitely not, when he gets reminded with a flick of an ear, nor by their constant bouncing when the brunett gestures wildly again.
"Hey, Pete. May I.. try something?" Said person cocks his head slightly to the side, like the curious puppy he currently is and nods. And he swears- if this was an anime and not real life, he'd be in the ground already. Here lies Harry Theopolis Osborn, died of blood loss from constant nose bleeding.
He slowly reaches over to him, carefully beginning to pet the other. At first the puppy is a bit sceptical, when slowly and gradually he starts enjoying it. His tail is fully wagging, he's leaning forward and further into the other's touch. Literally, best feeling ever right now.
Tumblr media
While Harry just can't anymore. Not only does he demand a platinum medal, a gigantic feast and ceremony, as well as a city key when this is over, for an outstanding amount of self control! He is so lost in thoughts, he doesn't realise that he stops petting, until some small whimpering breaks him free. Peter looks up at Harry with his big, green, sparkling eyes and droopy ears.
"..why did you stop..?" It really took every last ounce, drop and smudge of self restraint, not to kiss and pounce him. But instead Harry took a deep breath, couldn't help but smile and kept petting. Sure, he loves Peter, with the whole of his heart. ...which is exactly why he won't try anything that might just scare him away. Harry wouldn't know what to do, if he'd lose him in any way. So he just keeps quiet for now. His thoughts start spinning again, as Peter fully enjoys this simple touch of affection and closeness. Very quietly, the raven mumbles something under his breath:
"...you're my adorable dork..."

Matthew Anderson x Reader *Healing Inner Child Comfort*
Warnings: Childhood trauma, however kept rather vague and generalized. Not beta read.
Summary: After having to take care and deal with so many traumatic things at a young age, it's made you feel like an adult, even when you weren't. Now that you are an adult, looking back and realizing you couldn't just be a kid and have a normal childhood really upsets you. Matthew comforts the character and shows them that while it might not be the same, it's still possible to just act like a kid and heal your inner child.
Word Count: 2,620
A/N: Reader isn't exactly Mika, and I spaced out the time from the first game between Malix and Diana it took a little over a month, because having the events happening within a week is wild to me.
Can you tell I'm a bit biased based on the word count? Also, I was just rereading my other drabble I wrote for him and didn't realize how similar these are (in which tag is involved). So maybe one day I might come back to this and do it a bit differently, but who knows. Expect the next prompt with Matthew to either be really short or really long, because again, it is kind of based off of my own experiences. So I might get way into it, or keep it short to avoid myself from getting triggered. I guess we'll see!
Story under the cut to save space/scroll time!
Things had already started settling into a new normal in the mansion that your grandfather left you in his will. While things were a bit chaotic at first, finding bloodied incubi men on the floor wasn't ideal, nor did it make sense to you at first. But now? You can't imagine anything different, the five brothers really opened up your eyes to a whole new world besides the one you were used to. They had made you breakfast this morning, like they typically did to show you gratitude for letting them stay there after the events with both Malix and Diana.
However, as everyone was starting to clean up Sam and Matthew had seemed to start bickering with each other, over what exactly? You didn't exactly catch it, but it did lead to Matthew starting an unspoken game of tag between him and his brothers. While James seemed to stay out of it, but had a small smile on his features showing his true feelings. Eric and Damien had joined in, laughing for a moment before James seemed to put an end to it so that they could all finish cleaning up.
As you watched, for some reason it made you feel a bit envious. At first, you didn't quite understand why you felt that way. The more you thought about it, the more you realized that you couldn't remember the last time you had played tag. You were sure you had played tag at some point, but as you tried to recall the memory, only the memories of your childhood that you could remember were of things you wished you could forget.
This only lead you to think about it more, surely there had to have been a happy childhood memory in there somewhere. You had some friends in your elementary school days, and you remember being outside at recess. But what did you do during recess? You remember being on the swings quite often, and watching the other kids around you playing, and you remember being on the monkey bars, but those were all things that you remembered doing alone. The envy within you started to turn into bitter sadness, you remembered how hard it was to get birthday party invites, and if it was a sleepover, you usually couldn't go, or stay for the whole night.
The traumas you experienced as a kids started to bubble up more and more as you thought about it, and you could remember having to hold yourself differently. You always had to take care of someone, or fix something that shouldn't have been your problem at such a young age. You started to realize just how fast you had to grow up, how you started to see the world different even as a child, and how you had to learn how to survive at such a young age. That eventually, it seemed like birthday parties and whether or not you were invited to play soccer with the other kids all became secondary to your other list of priorities. Getting good grades in school, doing your chores at home, making sure to watch your tone around your parents, and how to determine what set of footsteps approached your bedroom door became the new set of priorities for you.
"Mx? Are you okay?" James seemed to question, snapping you back into your reality.
You didn't even know that you had started crying, suddenly feeling so angry that you started shaking. Now that you were an adult and away from your parents, your childhood home, your past, it finally hit you all at once just how much you missed out on. You couldn't even seem to answer James, simply shaking your head, before suddenly taking your leave to get some fresh air before it somehow got worse. You weren't mad at the boys for playing around, you were mad at the fact that you didn't seem to know how to ask to join in, how to be child again, instead of the paranoid adult you grew up to be. You were mad that you missed out on a whole childhood that you couldn't get back, and now it's too late to do anything about it.
It felt like grief to you, similar to the grief you felt when your grandfather passed. But this time, it felt as if you grieving over a potential life you could have had. Grieving the child version of yourself that deserved better, and never was able to get it by the time that childhood was over.
It was Matthew who came out first to try and comfort you, they all seemed to want to, but you had grown close to Matthew in a way you didn't quite realize until that moment. You enjoyed his company because of how "childish" he seemed to be, despite being able to hold his own fair share of responsibility and wisdom. You wished you could be more like him in that way, being able to just let go and have fun, instead of holding yourself back all because of how you were raised. Maybe Damien told them what you had been thinking about at the time, and they decided that maybe it was best for Matthew to be the one to come out to you. Or maybe he just wanted to make sure you were alright on his own accord.
"Hey, (Y/N)." Matthew greeted at first, "Do you mind if I stay out here with you?"
You simply shrugged at first, unsure of how to feel. You knew there would have to be a conversation about how you were feeling at some point. Being vulnerable was always a bit tough for you, having to always keep it together for the sake of your family.
"Take your time, you don't have to talk about it if you don't want to." Matthew added, not trying to pressure you into a conversation you were ready to have yet.
"It's hard to explain." You simply shook your head at first, not knowing where to begin, and not exactly wanting to spill your whole life story to him in order to explain.
"Then don't explain, not yet any way… Do you want to play tag with me?" Matthew suddenly questioned, catching you a bit off guard.
"What?" You asked, but it was pointless to ask, as Matthew suddenly approached you and touched you, yelling "Tag! You're it!" before running away from you.
It took you a moment to process what had happened, before you started to walk towards him at first. He smiled, walking backwards away from you, waiting to see if you would suddenly stop, or decide to chase after him. After a moment, you picked up your pace, feeling unsure about what was happening but still trying to go after him anyway. Soon, Matthew took off running again, and you couldn't help but feel the need to stop. It felt a bit silly to you to be playing a game of tag. A couple of minutes had passed, before you felt a voice suddenly come from behind you.
"Are you going to tag me?" Matthew questioned, as you quickly turned around, a bit surprised, and yet, still reaching out for him to attempt to tag him anyway.
He laughed, dodging out of the way, before you squinted your eyes at him dodging out of the way and attempting to tag him again. He was so close to you, how could you not tag him? Yes, it felt silly, but if he was going to tease you about it, at least you could make an attempt to try. It seemed like mere inches were keeping the two of you separated, before you finally decided to chase after him and finally tagging him.
"Tag! Finally!" You shouted, sounding a bit exasperated, making Matthew laugh at your reaction.
However, it took half a second for him to tag you again, as you forgot that it was now your turn to run.
"Tag! New rule, no tag backs." Matthew smirked.
"What? That's not fair, you just tagged me back!" You defended, tagging him back.
"Fine, I'll give you one freebie, but now there's no tag backs!" Matthew stated, as he seemed to run back inside the house.
Within a second you saw Eric coming outside chasing Matthew, who only stopped when he saw you and started to run towards you. You assumed it was out of pure instinct more than a cooperation to playing that you ran away from him. Eric did seem a lot more threatening when he was suddenly chasing after you suddenly, when you had just been standing mindlessly a second ago. It took a second, before Eric tagged you, you thought maybe it was unfair, unsure if it was simply his long legs giving him the advantage, or the fact that they were a completely different species with different advantages than you. As soon as you were tagged, you looked around, Matthew couldn't have possibly known that you were it now, right? Would he even trust you if you approached him anyway? Then you smirked, heading inside calmly. You tried to clear your mind of your little plan, just in case Damien wanted to rat you out, as you found Sam first. Sam didn't think much of anything, before you tagged him, as you announced the "No tag backs!" rule quickly, which gave you a head start.
"Aw, what!?" Sam groaned, before he ran towards Damien, who did happen to hear his thoughts and already had a head start before Sam could even process where his brother could be.
This game of tag seemed to last for at least thirty minutes, but it felt more like two hours. You were out of breath, and at times you had even given up on running all together, opting for a casual stroll instead and accepting your fate. At some point you had to call "times" to get a drink of water, and encouraged the others to get their water break too, and that they'd all have at least ten seconds to run before the game started up again.
As much as James had tried to avoid the inevitable, even telling his brothers that he wasn't interested in playing, when it came to you, he eventually gave in and finally let you tag him. You felt even more excited, running outside and yelling to everyone else that James was it. This only seemed to make the brothers up the stakes when it came to each other, but always made sure to at least slow themselves down when it came to you.
When your feet finally started to hurt, you collapsed onto the soft grass with a laugh. You couldn't help but start crying again in the midst of your laughter, suddenly overcome with a sense of nostalgia and happiness. Matthew collapsed next to you not too long after.
"I'm not it, I swear! We should team up and go hide from them and see how long it takes for them to notice and find us." Matthew suggested, as you simply nodded at first, wiping your tears away for a moment.
You followed him, telling him how you had found out that the mansion had a small secret side room in the library. Immediately the two of you snuck around to try and make it to the library without getting noticed by the others. Matthew was your lookout when you entered the library and opened up the secret room, motioning for him to follow in quickly. An automatic light seemed to flick on in the room, as you had closed the door behind the two of you. It was nice to get a bit of a breather from running, you never had really thought about hiding during a game of tag before.
"Thank you." You simply told him at first, as it was just the first thing on your side.
"Yeah, I just wanted you to feel included." He simply replied, and you couldn't help but think that he wasn't completely being truthful about his intentions about his game of tag.
"I didn't really get this a lot growing up." You started, hoping to ease into why you had been upset earlier.
"We didn't either…" Matthew sympathized, and you couldn't help but forget that they didn't have the best life back in the Abyssal Plains.
"Do you ever get angry that you didn't get a childhood?"
"Things are a bit different in the Abyssal Plains… Growing up, we didn't really think about it much. We did get to play with each other sometimes, but I imagine it wasn't like how you guys played as children here."
"That makes sense… When I saw you guys playing tag earlier, I just couldn't help but wonder when the last time I had played tag was, and my memories just continued to disappoint me." You confessed, "I didn't realize just how fast I had to grow up as a child…"
"I'm sorry to hear that… I really am."
You simply nodded as a response at first, "I just can't help but grieve a childhood I never had, I'm sure I'll get over it eventually…" you shrugged.
"You might have missed out of your childhood, but that doesn't mean you can't make your adulthood something your child self could be proud of and have fun with." Matthew stated, as he was fidgeting with some of the random dusty stuff in the room.
"Where would I even start?" You couldn't help but ask, it was supposed to be rhetorical, but he turned and smiled at you anyway.
"Well, I think you already started."
You smiled, feeling a sense of comfort at his words. You did feel that earlier, that happiness and nostalgia. Maybe it wasn't impossible to get those feelings back, to feel comfortable about feeling like a little kid, and making the child version of you proud. There was a moment of comfortable silence while you processed his words.
"Hey, isn't this the book that James was reading yesterday?" Matthew asked, lifting up the book, as you walked over and gently examined the book with him.
It was in fact, not dusty at all, at least compared to the other things in the room. It was just then that they had noticed that one of the leather chairs in the room seemed to not have a spec of dust on it either. Just as they had noticed it, the two of you looked at each other.
"We should leave, just in case." You mentioned "nonchalantly" as you pointed towards the door.
"Yeah, that sounds like a good idea." He agreed, and just as the two of you had began to leave the secret room, James had come into the room.
The two of you froze, "Are you it, James?" Matthew couldn't help but ask him.
"Well, I suppose there's only one way to find out." James seemed to smirk, teasing them both.
"You wouldn't play tag in the library, would you? There's quite a lot of important things in here…" You added, trying to reason with him as you inched closer to the door that lead out to the hallway.
"I wouldn't, you are right about that." James nodded, making you let out a breath.
Before you could process it, Matthew had already taken off running. But just as he had left out to the hallway, Eric had been waiting for him and tagged him making Matthew let out a groan of frustration. This made you, and the two eldest brothers laugh. Just as Matthew had started to come back, you were quick to come up with a new rule.
"The library is off limits!"

"She keeps fainting," explains Santhiya's mum to the doctor, via an interpreter. Really, Santhiya thinks as she swings her legs back and forth on the chair, she's a bit insulted. She could do it.
"How often does this happen? And how long do these fainting episodes last?"
"Two or three times a week. It's only about a minute or so, but they worry us."
"I understand that," says the doctor calmly, writing something down. "Is there any unifying factors where she's more likely to have them? Times, places?"
Santhiya's mum goes quiet for a few minutes, and then she says, "Crowded places. She has a lot at school and her dance performances. And when we play games or her dad is working from home."
The doctor nods, and then turns to Santhiya. "These fainting episodes, can you describe them for me?"
Santhiya nods. "They're horrible. I feel like– this big emotion, and then I hear some voices that feel like that, and then I'm waking up on the floor or slumped in my seat and people are there and it's embarrassing."
"What sort of emotion?"
"Lots of different ones. And the voices seem to be feeling that too. I don't understand it."
"That's okay. We'll try our best to work it out. Thank you for telling me all that." He turns back to her mum. "I can't diagnose anything right at the moment, but I'd like to order a few tests, if that's okay. And refer Santhiya to a neurologist."
"That's brains? You think there's something wrong with her brain?" Her mum sounds worried, which makes Santhiya worried.
"I don't know, Mrs Choudhary. It's probably nothing to worry about. I'd like to order an MRI and a CT scan. It'd be up to her neurologist whether or not they want them, but the waiting lists for those tests can be quite long and that'll give us a head start. I'd also like to do a blood test, the clinic is still open next door. And there are a few things I'd like the two of you to do. Is that okay?"
Santhiya's mum swallows and nods. "I'll do what you think is best. I just want my daughter to get better. What do I need to do?"
The doctor smiles. "I'd like you to keep a food diary until you see a neurologist. That should be about two weeks, give or take. Feed her as you normally would, this is just to see whether anything such as sodium or blood sugar levels could be what's causing her fainting. And I'd like you to do a fingerprick test the next time she faints and is with you, if possible."
Her mum glances at her. "How do I do it?"
"I can demonstrate, if your daughter doesn't mind. Santhiya? It would just be a small prick."
Santhiya nods and shifts in her seat. She doesn't particularly want to do it but her mum seems to think it's fine so it probably is.
"Okay. Mrs Choudhary, if you'd like to come over here." He pulls out a kit and opens it, then opens a little pack displaying a needle. "It'll just be a little prick with this needle, okay Santhiya?"
Santhiya nods, eyeing the needle nervously. Her mum squeezes her hand. The doctor demonstrates how to prick her finger with the needle, then let it drip into a little pot. She doesn't like it. But it only has to happen once.
And besides, he's given her a butterfly plaster.
"Do it as soon as she wakes up, if you can. I'll print you off a blood test form, food diary and some guides to the tests. We'll find out what's going on as soon as we can, okay Santhiya?"
Santhiya nods. At some point, she's stopped swinging her legs, but she bounces off the chair and takes her mum's hand again when it's time to leave.
The blood test is scary, but as her mum helps her back on with her coat (the nice yellow one with the furry hood) she promises her some dosi from the nice shop on the way home, so Santhiya thinks it's probably worth it.
_
The neurologist's office is nicer than the other doctor's. The waiting room is in bright colours and the office is a nice blue with fish on the walls. It should probably be butterflies, to match the ones in her stomach.
Over the next year, she has to have lots of scary tests done. She even has to stay in hospital for some of them. She gets concussion twice and breaks her arm. Her parents are worried. They try to hide it but she can tell.
She's delighted by the glove balloon one of the doctors gives her though. She loves it. And she has a fluffy toy lemur now.
Finally she's referred to yet another part of the hospital. This one has green walls with safari animals painted on them, and the actual room has a weird bed that looks like a flat elephant.
The doctor smiles at her as she and her mum enter.
"Good afternoon Santhiya, Mrs Choudhary. Please take a seat." She waits for them to make themselves comfortable. "As you might've guessed, we have a diagnosis for Santhiya. We believe she has telepathy. Specifically–"
Santhiya doesn't hear the rest because she bursts into tears. No. No she can't have that, she can't!
"Santhiya?" asks her mum, alarmed, as if from far away. "What's wrong?"
"They'll take me away! I don't wanna go away! I don't wanna leave you and dad and everything!"
"Take you away? Who told you that?"
"A boy at school! He said– he said that there was something wrong with me and it was probably powers and that they'd take me away and lock me up or you'd abandon me and then they'd hurt me and I don't want that! Please don't make me!"
"Hey. Hey, look at me." Her mum cups her face in her hands and she tries to blink away the blurry vision. "Have I ever given you reason to believe I'd do anything like that?"
"No but he said you'd change your mind once you knew what I was! And his parents did, so–"
"I would defend you with my life. I don't care if anyone tries to take you, I am never letting that happen. Listen, Santhiya. You're my daughter. You always will be, whatever happens. I'd never let anyone do anything to you. Yeah?"
Santhiya nods and grabs her mum, pulling herself close. She eyes the doctor warily.
"Sorry."
Her mum kisses her on the head. "No apologies. Are you okay to continue?"
Santhiya nods and her mum sits down, gently pulling her onto her lap. "What do we do now?"
"I'll explain the details of her condition in a minute, including what it looks like on the scans. I think you'll like looking at them, Santhiya, even if you don't understand them. You can see your eyes on them." Santhiya's eyes widen. Wow. "But basically, Santhiya, you're picking up on people's thoughts and emotions, even when you're not trying to, and it's too much. You're strong enough to go deep into people's minds, but their views of the world and their thoughts and emotions are too much for you."
"Oh." That... that actually makes sense. She thinks on it for a moment. "Does that mean that it's their emotions and voices I get before I faint?"
"I believe so."
"I don't want to read their minds." It's not fair without asking and she doesn't want to faint either.
"I know. That's why we're going to help you. Santhiya, Mrs Choudhary, do you both want to know what the possible next steps are?"
Santhiya nods, and her mum says, "Please."
The doctor nods. "Santhiya, do you remember the last time you were in hospital and you had your head measured? And they showed you different colours of fabric and had you choose which one you liked best?"
Santhiya nods enthusiastically. She'd chosen the sparkly rainbow one.
"Well, it was for this." She pulls out something that looks like a... helmet? Fabricy helmet? Santhiya's not sure. But it's sparkly rainbow, just like she chose.
"It's for you to wear while you're out, to protect your head. I don't think any of us want to wrap you in bubble wrap but it will hopefully protect against you getting concussion again. Unless your mum really doesn't want you wearing one, I'd like you to try it on."
"Go ahead."
Santhiya takes the helmet and pulls it over her head. Her mum does up the straps and holds her hand as they walk to the mirror.
Santhiya tilts her head to one side, then the other. She likes the fabric, the way it shimmers in the light. But...
She bites her lip, seeing it wobble. It still looks silly. She'll be teased for it, she knows it, she already is for her fainting and going into hospital so much, and she's lost her friends because they don't want to associate with her or their parents don't want her around. This is going to make it worse.
"Do I have to?" she whispers, the words just for her mum. Not for the interpreter or the doctor, just between them.
"I'd like you to. It would keep you safe. And maybe we can go out more if we don't have to worry about concussion."
Santhiya perks up a little. "Can I go back to dance?"
"If the doctor says it's safe I don't see why not. Provided you wear the helmet."
Santhiya swallows. She doesn't want to but if it gets her back into dance...
"I'll do it."
Her mum smiles, and nods at the doctor. "She'll wear it."
"Excellent." Santhiya hops back into her seat. The helmet feels weird. "I'll refer you to a nurse specialist in addition to your appointments with me to help with issues such as dealing with schools. At this point we recommend counselling for Santhiya. With telepathy, there might be things she picks up on that she doesn't understand, or that hurt, and she needs to talk to someone outside her family about them. And for you and your husband, too, as her parents, to help with what you might be feeling about all this."
"The online booklets mentioned training?" asks her mum cautiously.
"Oh, you've done your research. Yes, we offer that too. It usually starts a little older, but since Santhiya's powers are already fast developing we can start early. With telepathy, it involves simple exercises to help her brain develop ways of making other's thoughts and emotions quieter."
"So– so does that mean I can't cheat at cards anymore?"
The doctor laughs. "I'm afraid so."
_
"And that's why I don't like your parents," finishes Santhiya. She's never told anyone the whole story before.
Phoenix frowns. "I've, um, never heard of these, um, services."
"Which is why I don't like your parents. How could anyone expect you to control your powers without training?"
Phoenix hums, cocking their head as they look at the photo album. "You know, it, um, it actually kind of suits you. It's your style."
Santhiya shoves them, laughing. "Oh shut up. I never should've let my mum show you these."
"She's proud of you. And, um, you might've lost your friends then but you, um, you have me now. And everyone else but, um, especially me."
Santhiya grins and kisses her, long and hard. "Oh, definitely you."

Hey new follower here :D
I really liked the death x ghost! Soulmate! Reader you wrote and I would like to make a request if it is no trouble
So I had this idea of like a puss in boots x kung fu panda au (since they are both from dreamwork) Anyway, what would think Death would act around a reader who is just like Po and also has similar powers as him (Po)
It would be cool if you could write an headcanon of it but ofc you can also just ignore this if you feel uncomfortable or bothered by this request
Have a great day!
Death x Reader | Puss in Boots x Kung Fu Panda AU
A/N: Hello lovely anon! Thank you for sending in this request! This was no trouble at all. And I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the Death x ghost/soulmate!Reader AU! I might have gone a bit overboard with this, but I hope it's to your liking! Due to my poor memory of the other films, this will based on the events of the first Kung Fu Panda movie.
Tumblr media
swanpit made a post with concept art/behind the scenes things that included how Death would look in Kung Fu Panda. Feel free to imagine him wearing that.
You two met when you were chosen as the Dragon Warrior and were nearly blown to bits. (Listen, you had to see that ceremony somehow.)
He definitely face palmed as he watched you soar above the sky. He had to hand it to you, that firework chair was a clever idea, but- how in the world did you not die?! And then you were chosen as the Dragon Warrior?!
He was willing to place bets on how long you'd last with the Furious Five. During your first few days of training, he was always in the shadows. Observing. Waiting.
But he was pleasantly surprised when you showed some competence. You had boundless enthusiasm for kung fu which he found very endearing.
He lurks in the shadows as you train, and over time, it's less of him waiting there to take your soul and more of him just watching you with fondness in his eyes.
He sees that you have an interest in food. Then learns you're a really good cook. He's been around since the beginning of time, sure, and he's had all sorts of food before. But he desperately wants to try some of your food.
Honestly, he really wants to talk to you, something Death definitely shouldn't do, but...
That first night, after doing...not great at training, you're asking yourself if you can really be the Dragon Warrior. Self-doubt weighs you down, welling up in a tight knot in your chest. You go out to get some fresh air and think (maybe stop by the peach tree?) when you see red eyes in the darkness. "Hello?" They blink rapidly and disappear. You feel a bit unsettled but decide to shake it off. Then a huge wolf is in front of you. You scream before settling into a very cool and very suave "AAAAAAAaaauhhh- Uh. Hi. Hi there." The wolf laughs a bit. When he smiles, you notice how his teeth are very sharp. "Hello, Dragon Warrior."
He gets you to tell him what's bothering you. He looks at you intently throughout, frowning when you finish. "You want to be a kung fu master?" "Yeah! Just like the Furious Five! I just...I keep messing up. What if it was a mistake? What if Master Oogway was wrong?" He scoffs with a smile. "Whether or not life is a series of events by fate or chance is up to you to decide. But I don't think Oogway made a mistake. You have the passion and drive. I believe in you, Dragon Warrior." You smile. "Thanks." But then your eyes widen. "Wait. I don't even know your name! Who are you?" The wolf hesitates for a moment before solemnly saying: "Someone I hope you won't have to meet again for a long time." You see the pin on his robe. "'Death'?" He smiles and whistles. You rub your eyes and when you open them again, he's gone.
He watches as you keep training with more enthusiasm. He's silently praying to himself that you don't get killed. Getting kicked down the stairs though...ouch.
He meets you at the bottom. "Hey..." you faceplant in the ground. "Are you really going to let him do that to you?" "It's Master Shifu! He's just helping me train hard. I gotta to get back up to the Jade Palace!" He offers you a hand, and you reluctantly take it. He's looking at you with a perplexed expression. "What?" He's just asking himself how you're still alive, but he laughs to himself. He just walks away, "Have fun training, Dragon Warrior," and whistles.
Misc thing but meeting Oogway before he dies and: "Ah! You're right on time." "I always am. Are you ready to go?" "Let me stand here beneath this beautiful peach tree for just a few more minutes. I have the sneaking suspicion Shifu will be here shortly, and I need to tell him something...isn't life beautiful 死 (Sǐ)?" "...yes. Yes it is."
When you head back into town to help back up at your parent's business, you are very gloomy. But there in the crowd- he's back again! That wolf! You don't know his name and you just say the first thing that comes to mind: "Death!" He stops walking and looks at you with those red eyes. He's a bit shocked- he didn't actually know whether or not you knew that was his name. But you were there, calling to him.
He is the one who gets you to realize the secrets of the Dragon Scroll. Your eyes light up, and he watches as you race back up the steps to the palace. Death really hopes that you'll be alright, and decides to follow from afar.
He is amazed and so so proud of you tapping into your power. A little terrified but mostly just. Amazed. "They're really something..." he whispers to himself.
After you reunite with the Five and Shifu, Death reveals himself to you. You're ready to fight him to protect Shifu, but Death insists he's not there to take him. You throw the first punch and you don't even see him move. But just before your fist meets his muzzle, he just grabs your fist, clicking his tongue. "Come on. Really?"
The Five spring into action, ready to defend Shifu and fight alongside the Dragon Warrior, but he just plants a small kiss on your hand. And everyone just freezes. "Whaaaa-" "Well done with Tai Lung, Dragon Warrior. I just came to congratulate you. And to ask for some takeout." "Oh, thanks- wait, what?" "Doesn't your parent own a restaurant?" "Oh- ohhh. Yeah."
Death wanted to confess to you, but there was a crowd he hadn't expected. That'll come later. He just says "I'll see you again..." and whistles as he walks away.

General Post Kung Fu Panda 1 Things
Death knows better than to get directly involved in attacks and fights in the town. His presence could bring more harm than needed. But he's always watching.
Whenever you get into a fight defending the town, you run into Death after. You'd think he was a doctor or something, and not literally Death with how tenderly he holds you and treats your injuries. You're usually fine and he knows you can defend yourself. But that doesn't keep him from worrying.
Yeah, he knows acupuncture. He bonds with Mantis about it and the two of them use it on you, given your consent.
He loves it when you cook. Your food is made with so much love, and it's absolutely delicious. He chats with you as you cook, looking at you with an absolutely adoring gaze.
He confesses his love to you when you two are sharing a meal. And his tail is wagging like mad when you reciprocate.
Sparring practice, sparring practice, sparring practice-
Death's fighting style is really similar to in TLW. Yours is a bit more spontaneous.
Death loves fighting with you. The practice and training is good for you, and you are a challenging opponent for him.
He definitely has a bit of banter with you, grinning when you bite back with punchy quips. "So the Great Dragon Warrior thinks they can beat Death?" He manages to knock you down or pin you against a wall, stealing quick kisses that make you lose your focus. "That's cheating!" He just laughs and does it again.
Whenever you accidentally break things out of strength or clumsiness, he's there to first make sure your okay then figure out how to fix the thing.
Death gives you stern talking tos when you're being too reckless though. "Just because you're the Dragon Warrior doesn't mean you can't die. You have one life, just like anyone else."
WILL GIVE YOU COMPLIMENTS. All the time. Self-deprecation is a no. If you show any signs of insecurity regarding anything, be it your physical appearance or your skill as a fighter, he listens then tells you all of the ways you're incredible and what he loves about you. More kisses.
You're quicker to forgive and a bit more kind than Death. You're usually the one who has to talk him out of going after people you've fought or those who are particularly rude to you.
