Habits that changed my life for the better
I stopped joking about myself. It was mostly about suicide jokes (it was a decision that I made after the worst moment of my journey with depression, if I can call it that), but, really, it's about all self-deprecating stuff. It may be just jokes, but it stays in your brain.
Positive attitude. It's similar to manifestation, in a way, but in a... down to earth way, I guess. Thinking positively about stuff changes everything for me. Almost everything is simpler.
I deleted Twitter. It may be a different social media for everyone, of course - now probably TikTok for most - but, well, Twitter was where I spent long hours everyday. I started taking breaks from it about a year and a half ago and deleted it in August. It was hard - I loved the community there and I miss the daily updates from my fav fandoms, but it's for the best. I still can't explain how Twitter affected me but I do feel better since I stopped spending so much time there.
Taking vitamins. I didn't think it would really make a difference but it definitely did. The biggest surprise for me was vitamin C - my immune system has improved super quickly when I started supplementing it. I didn't even realise how bad it was before. Other than that, I take B complex, A+E (hair, skin), and iron (i tend to have a deficiency of it). (& D when it's winter).
Having a consistent skin care routine. It's calming and both doing the routine and seeing the effects make me feel better. (I do realise that many people have more demanding skin than me and searching for the right products can be frustrating and expensive. I'm just talking about my experience).
Other things that I think are worth mentioning:
Therapy - just a short explanation that I've been on therapy (with breaks) for about 6 years now. I've had social anxiety for most of my life, now still struggle with depression (and amnesia, actually) a bit, but what I wanted to mention here is that I learned a lot from it. It's obvious, but I just think it's important to pinpoint that I did not just learn how to think more positively and love myself by myself.
Exercising! - I still struggle to make it a habit, but when I actually do exercise regularly (I do pilates), I really feel better. It's worth it.
Hydration - same with drinking water. I really don't think I have to explain it in any way lol.

It's perfectly okay to take a day off and simply relax without worrying about productivity. There's no harm in occasionally not meeting your productivity expectations. Remember, you're a human, not a machine, and it's natural to experience fatigue. I often find myself in a constant hustle to achieve and be productive, but it's essential to recognize that it's completely normal and acceptable to have a few unproductive days. In fact, it's something you deserve.

HOW TO BUILD A SOLID ROUTINE
Hi girls!! Now I know this blog is here for advice and helping others find a sense of self, but today, we’ll be talking about something that I am also trying to work on very deeply. The issue in question: consistency. Here are some things that have been helping me with my journey thus far.
1. LEARNING YOUR BODY
Often times, we see stuff on social media and think: “Omg she looks so fit, in order to look like her, I need to copy her routine.” This could not be further from the truth. We all have different bodies and different boundaries. Learning what works FOR YOU is always best.
2. SETTING REALISTIC GOALS
Let’s say your goal is to start waking up earlier each day, if you’re a heavy sleeper that wakes up at 12PM each day, maybe don’t directly try waking up at 5AM. Unattainable goals will discourage you from even trying at all.
3. LETTING YOURSELF FAIL
It’s okay to mess up!! We are all human and at the end of the day, some days will be better than others. What matters is you and your well-being. One day of fuck-up will absolutely not derail your progress. Focus on the next day and don’t beat yourself up!
4. HAVING A STRONG SUPPORT SYSTEM
In psychology, we learn that two heads aren’t necessarily better than one, but while building a routine, I say it totally is! Having a support system only encourages you to work hard and not disappoint the people cheering you on. For example, my friend and I are doing the 75 Slay together (a derivation from the 75 hard lol) and it’s been extremely encouraging doing it with a partner.
5. HAVING FUN
Creating a routine that is rigid and rough to follow will simply lead you down a path of stress and anxiety. I kid you not, once I stressed so much about my daily routine and habits that I had the worst case of insomnia for a week. Take things lightly, workout with your favorite playlist and enjoy eating foods that make you smile. You can always lead a healthy lifestyle while still enjoying life.
so much love,
a girl unfiltered 💋

new year resolution ideas for self care!!!
1. drink ample water every day — use a tracker for the first two months to make it a habit.
2. only eat when you are hungry, don't force food inside you.
3. moisturize your skin properly everyday
4. do a monthly gratitude jar (there are pretty templates on pinterest if you are an artsy person and if you are not, lists are amazing!)
5. stay curious — make a list of things you want to explore and feed your brain
6. do something everyday that makes you happy — it can be something small like texting a friend you've not talked to in a while or just indulging in ice-cream and netflix.
7. prioritize yourself — do things for you.
8. quit being a donkey — it's high time you stop carrying the burden of others, be it emotional of physical.
9. learn to apologize effectively because good apologies can save you a lot of trouble and bring you peace. proper accountability does wonders (check this out its my favourite resource, it's downloadable)
10. skin care daily, lovely people. let's get that into routine.
11. have goals for yourself, it's good. but don’t get lost in the process of chasing it. experience life on the way.
12. check in on your loved ones once in a while.
13. go to bed early? at least try??
14. go on a digital detox per month/ two months
15. LOVE YOURSELF MORE THIS NEW YEAR! YOU ARE PRECIOUS, FRIEND. REMIND YOURSELF THAT DAILY!
