Heyo! Hope you're doing alright! ***I meant to do a post for Chapter 1 of Book 7 earlier but it’s been super chaotic with the holidays 😭***

BUT I do wanna vent about specific parts of this chapter cause I’m constantly on edge waiting for the release of Chapter 2 (even though I’ll be crying and hyperventilating throughout the next chapter)

First of all, let me start off with how much I love seeing Sebek have a bitch fit from us calling Malleus Tsunotaro

Like dude basically had an aneurysm and tantrum over it and I fucking love his reaction 😭

(Also totally not loving the attention from Malleus in the very beginning of the chapter 🙈)

Being such a huge fan of Sleeping Beauty I’m thriving on the focus of it for this Book and I can’t wait to see where it takes us ❤️

BUT BUT There were two parts that had me almost to the point of losing my goddamn mind

1. The idea that we could be leaving Ace, Deuce and Grim

When Deuce and Grim started reminiscing and getting upset about us leaving and Grim being alone again

JUST THE ABSOLUTE HEARTBREAK I FELT IN THIS SCENE WAS AWFUL LIKE TWST WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME

CAN WE GIVE OURSELVES A BREAK WE KEEPING GOING THROUGH SO MUCH SHIT TOGETHER

BUT THEN ACE'S REACTION IS SENDING ME TO THE HEAVENS

I'M SO CONFUSED AT ACE'S REACTION LIKE CMON TELL ME HOW YOU ACTUALLY FEEL

Throughout the whole series we've always seen Ace consoling us and keeping his positive outlook, and I'm DYING to see how he reacts to us leaving when we have a guaranteed way home

I feel like once he know's our time is coming to an end, Ace is gonna be inconsolable and just completely break down and beg us to not leave

it had been an exhausting journey from morath. dorian was both the savior you were looking for, someone who stood up for you and helped you out of that horrendous place and also the biggest pain in the ass that ever did exist.

you would have pummeled him to the ground, maybe even stabbed his stupid stupid stomach lined with his stupid stupid abs if it weren’t for the lingering sense of gratitude you held toward the man.

“can we rest here for the night?” you asked, physically and mentally whooped from your situation. your mental scars from morath were just as prominent as the cuts that were turning a sickly green and your purple bruises.

“cmon, just another mile. we’ll be closer to the stream then,” dorian responded.

you knew there was no way you could make it. you’d already been dragging him down because of your lingering injuries. but there was no way you could tell him this. you refused to show weakness in front of anyone, especially the entitled asshole of a king in front you.

dorian had to have noticed your rapid decline in speed. you couldn’t help it, the pain truly was becoming unbearable. but he couldn’t know that. no one could know that. if anyone knew-

“y/n,” he said in a firm tone, almost sounding annoyed.

“we haven’t got all day do we? do i need to carry you?” he teased.

“i’m moving as fast as i can,” you grumbled.

“well dorian no offense. i know it’s hard for you to understand and all but i’m struggling right now. i get that you don’t really know what that means, but for some of us, it means we walk a bit slower than usual because our bodies can’t fucking take it. so kindly, or not so kindly, leave me alone,” you said with force.

because honestly, what did this spoiled royal bastard know about pain and suffering?

he only chuckled in response, which somehow frustrated you more. how dare he laugh?

you were so distracted in your haze of anger that you didn’t notice he had slowed down to your speed. he slipped an arm over your shoulder to steady your form.

you silently walked the next mile with him, every step more agonizing than the last. when you finally reached a spot he deemed acceptable, he dropped his arm from your figure. you nearly collapsed without his support, which made you realize how reliant you had been on him for the last chunk of your trip.

“thank you,” you said hoarsely.

“what was that?” he prodded, wanting to hear you say it.

“thanks,” you said a bit louder.

“i’m sorry, i still can’t hear you,” he said with a grin.

“i said thank you,” you announced loudly.

dorian chuckled. “oh it’s my pleasure. really strengthens my arms when i have to carry you a mile through the forest.”

“alright, would you-“ you started.

“i’m kidding,” he said, “i’m just messing with you. i’ll carry you wherever i need to if it means we will stay safe.”

you nodded your head slowly and whispered another soft thanks.

the pack that had been on dorian’s back contained a thin tent which he pitched while you walked a few yards to the stream to gather water. night was falling, and with it the temperature.

as you walked back to the tent, you realized dorian was no where in sight. you gently laid the water you collected in the canteen on a rock and peered inside the tent.

there he was in all of his beauty. he no longer had his collared shirt and thick coat covering his magnificent upper body. his legs were bare besides a pair of boxers and you couldn’t help but stare. even though he frustrated the ever living hell out of you, he was gorgeous. you noticed a white ring around his neck before he turned to see your face poked in through the tent flap.

“like what you see?” he said with a sly grin.

your face heated at the implication.

“sorry… i- uh… i was looking to find you. i gathered some water,” you stuttered out, flustered by his appearance.

“mm thank you. i am quite parched,” he replied.

you grabbed the canteen and passed it to him.

“goodnight,” you said as you walked away from the tent, trying to find a spot to sleep on the ground next to the tent so the wind wouldn’t blow directly on you.

“and just what do you think you are doing?” dorian said as he poked his head out.

“um.. looking for a place to sleep?” you said.

“y/n. we have been traveling together for a week. what makes you think you can’t be in the same tent as me?” dorian asked.

“we’ve only slept in separate rooms through those port towns. i just assumed it would be uncomfortable for you,” you said with a shrug.

“what would make me more uncomfortable is you out there completely alone with no warmth or company,” dorian said, “get in the tent now, please.”

you nodded and mumbled a quiet okay.

the tent wasn’t very large, just enough room for a few blankets. you slowly crawled under one as dorian sat down and did the same.

once you were both settled, you sighed deeply and let the events of the past week come over you. so much had happened in so little time.

you attempted to close your eyes, if only to stop yourself from processing your time at morath, the rescue, and your complex feelings toward dorian. but before you could fall asleep, he spoke.

“i know that i’m not… easy. or probably the best person to be accompanying you right now. but i want you to know that i’ve felt your pain,” he said.

“dorian just… don’t. i don’t want to hear about the pain of stubbing your royal pinky toe, or the pain of attending too many fancy dinner parties. it’s different, okay?” you said, trying your best not to sound too irritated, but closed off so you wouldn’t have to hear his nonsense.

“we are not as different as you think,” he said.

even in the dark, you could seem him scratching at the scar on his neck.

“what is that?” you asked, pointing to it.

“what makes us the same,” he said with a sad smile.

“what do you mean?”

“the valg, y/n. i felt them too. they hurt me and infested me too,” he said softly.

your face fell. by no means had you expected that.

“dorian i am so sor-“

“no, don’t say you are sorry. i don’t need to hear that. i just need you to know that i’m trying to be what you need right now. so tell me what that is. i can be your punching bag, i could build you up, i could make you laugh, or i could be whatever else you need. i just want to help,” he said, his eyes staring into yours with intent.

somehow, you were closer than before. close enough that you could feel his warm breath. close enough that your mind wandered-

“how about a distraction?” you said with a small smile, letting the feelings of gratitude for the rescue and appreciation of his beauty take over your mind and body.

“a distraction?” he grinned, “how so?”

It's an incredibly special and intoxicating feeling; sharing a passion with someone. Music has been such a large part of my life, but I have loved it alone. Now, in front of me, was someone to share this passion with. It simultaneously delighted and frightened me.

Eddie ran his fingers through the dusty records, he had immediately crossed over to the rock section, and was digging for some Dio album he had been mumbling about. The music store was incredibly quaint, it was owned by a middle aged man who was sitting playing something I didn't recognize on an old acoustic guitar. The man's strums filled the otherwise quiet shop. I was a bit surprised that Eddie took me here, considering how calm it was. I took a deep breath and smelled the familiar scents of dust, musk, and leather. Incense was burning by the cash register. I felt complete, somehow. I could see myself coming here very often.

"Awesome, right?" Eddie smiled, rushing up next to me.

"This place is incredible!" I smiled back. I was starting to warm up to Eddie. That's what scared me the most.

"I knew you'd like it. It totally has your loner shtick written all over it." Eddie smirked.

"Could you please not be an asshole, for like, five seconds? I was really enjoying the ambience."

"I only speak the truth, Miss Melanie."

"Ugh, that's the worst one yet." I groaned.

"Oh, but I've got so much more!"

I gasped. As I was flipping through the rock tapes, I found an absolute gem...

"Holy shit." I beamed. I lifted the tape to show Eddie as my heart pounded, praying he knew the artist.

"Quiet Riot? Really?" Eddie chuckled. My heart sank in confusion.

"Hey, they put metal on the top of the charts! You can't beat that, can you?"

"Sure, but they've only got the one good album." Eddie muttered as he fumbled through the stack I was admiring, "You need something just as... striking as you are- GOT IT!"

Before I could even react to what he had just said, Eddie waved the tape in my face, as I tried to push him away, he jumped up and down.

"THIS. Is Holy Diver. It's..." Eddie sighed, trying to find the words, "It's a masterpiece. I even made my fucking vest out of a Dio T-Shirt, OK? I'm a total geek for this band."

"I can tell." I chuckled. My face hurt from smiling so much, and I rubbed my cheeks. I sure wasn't used to this. As sad as it is, I really don't find myself smiling over much anymore. And here this wonderful boy was, making me giggle like an absolute fool.

"I'm buying this for you. Immediately. SHOPKEEP!" Eddie turned and yelped for the kind man, who didn't seem to bothered by Eddie. This must be a regular occurrence. The silly metalhead hopped over a few crates towards the man, then turned to look at me, as if he expected me to follow right behind.

"Cmon! Rich doesn't bite, do 'ya Rich?" Eddie joked, patting Rich's shoulder.

"Only if you put your hands on me again, Munson." Rich sighed, then smirked to show he wasn't too serious.

"Got it, sir..." Eddie stammered.

"Great choice as always, son." Rich praised. I smiled. Small towns are truly adorable.

"Actually, I'm introducing this lovely lady to our beloved Dio. She was digging through Quiet Riot and I figured she needed some help-"

I slapped his arm angrily. Rich laughed as I continued to stare into Eddie, who merely responded by sticking his tongue out.

"You guys sure are cute. Reminds me of me and my sweetheart back in the day, always teasing each other."

"Oh, no, we're not together or anything, I actually just met him today." I explained with a flushed face.

Rich began to wheeze in laughter, "You two?" He continued to cackle. Eddie and I looked at each other, then back to a crying/laughing Rich.

"Oh... you guys are funny."

"Nah, Rich, she's serious. She hasn't fallen for my charm just yet." Eddie smirked, and placed his elbows on the counter. I crossed my arms and huffed. Why is it that when any guy or girl go somewhere together it's always presumed that they're together?

"Well, I haven't seen much of that charm you're talking about." I said, tongue in my cheek.

Rich let out an even bigger chortle, and pointed at Eddie,

"She's got you there! Aha!!"

Rich finished ringing Eddie up, and as I headed for the door, Eddie stopped me.

"Wait! I didn't even show you the guitars in the back!" Eddie began to jog towards a narrow looking hallway that I totally missed, and I followed behind him, annoyed. I'm not the best jogger in the world.

"Eddie, can't we just- Woah."

I was stopped in my tracks by an entire room of guitars displayed on the wall. My mouth hung open as I stared. Eddie walked up to one that was far above his head, lightly touching the strings with his ringed fingers.

"Still in tune." Eddie smiled, and turned back to me. I smiled back.

"These are crazy, Eddie. There's just... so many."

"I know, right?" Eddie put his hands back in his pockets. I slowly walked up to a gleaming black Fernandes electric guitar, and ran my fingertips along the strings. My heart pounded. I had always wanted to learn to play.

"Well, unfortunately, Rich won't let me mess with his toys, so we can't play them." Eddie said, scratching the back of his shaggy head.

"That's a shame. These really are beautiful."

Eddie took careful steps towards me,

"You know... I do have a really fucking cool one back at my trailer."

I turned to face him. His eyes were darting across the room, until they directly met mine. I felt my heart stop for a moment. I felt myself lingering in them. His eyes were so deep and curious, unlike any boy I had met before.

"Earth to Melanie? Hello?" Eddie waved his hand in my face, and I blinked myself back to reality.

"If you're inviting me back to your empty trailer to get me alone, that's a big no-no." I said, forcefully. I felt my stomach twisting at the thought of all of this being a ploy for stupid sex. My brain was riddled with anxiety.

"Ah, ok. I get it. You just hate me." Eddie said, defeated. He used his fist to pound into his stomach, mimicking being stabbed. I couldn't help but smile at his goofiness.

"I don't hate you. I just met you, remember? I haven't formed a real opinion yet."

This response made Eddie perk up a bit as he messed with his hair.

"Well, now I'm going to have to be a true gentleman, huh?"

I just shook my head in response. If any guy is going to try to romance me, I sure did not think it would be someone like him.

"Melanie." Eddie caught my attention by lightly grabbing my hand. I felt my breath catch in my throat.

"I'm not fucking with you. I don't know how much more obvious I can be, but you..." He bit his thumb, as if hesitating.

"I have never met anyone else like you here. And I want to keep going on stupid outings like this. I want to make you laugh, god damn it!" He lightly pinched my cheek, and I grabbed his hand.

"Eddie..."

"What?" He asked, eyes widening in fear.

"I'll see you tomorrow." I gave him a pained smile, and walked out of the store. In the stupid pit of my romantic heart, I hoped I would hear his sneakers running up behind me.  But, he didn't come after me. I waited five extra seconds, counting down in my head. Five, then four, then three, then two… Then, I turned again, and walked my way back home.

Rindou once met a girl, this girl filled his heart with joy. The way she laughs, the way she talks… everything about her made him happy.

It all started back at the grocery store when he saw that cashier. You were warm and kind hearted. When he was looking at you and you caught him staring. It was just awkward for both of you. The way you both were bushing like idiots when your hands accidentally brushed against each other.

Later that day, Rindou couldn't stop talking about you to his brother. “Ran! I swear! It's love at the first sight,” Rindou started complaining. It was just that his brother laughed at him.

It was fun so you did it again at the same spot every week on Friday. Something you both usually did is flower crowns –which you both always collected– with the bouquets he gives you.

“Thank you so much!” you smiled as he tucked your hair behind your ear. “May I place it?” he asked politely. You just nodded as he placed the earrings.

You just pushed him away when you heard the gun getting fired. “move aside!” you pushed him away. The bullet came directly to your arm. “Who are you?!” you yelled holding a knife. Rindou just looked at you shocked.

“(name) leave!” Rindou said, frowning. It was the first time you've seen him that serious. You just covered him while holding a knife. “I'll protect you.” you looked at him. He saw that you were shaking. Rindou was already used to this all. He didn't want to drag you to it. He took out a gun and shot once towards the direction.

For a second time, the bullet came right to your heart. Rindou just tried to look around for the person yet you were losing blood.

“Hey, you need to stay awake. Can you do that for me?” He placed you on the floor with all of the beautiful flowers next to you. Things went fast. He just pointed a gun back at them.

It wasn't really long till they left. You held his clothes. “Rin… please.” You started crying. “Hold on. I'll save you I promise!” He tried contacting his brother, yet he didn't pick up.

He knew that maybe he would be able to help you survive if he carried you to the nearest hospital possible.

“Hold on… alright?” he said, hugging you. He felt like crying but it was just hard for him to accept that you have died. “One day, we will get married and have children who look like us..” he smiled, kissing your forehead.

It was late.. Too late. You already lost enough blood. He just placed you on the floor again.

in public... it really depends on if you've made your relationship public or not.

kaoru has a ton of fans. you know this very well, especially if you were once one of her diehard fans. in order not to cause or stir any drama, you both will keep your relationship private for a while.

like. remember how rokka's class reacted to when kaoru called rokka "cinderella" out of nowhere and everyone was already freaking out ("what is this?! explain yourself kaoru-san!!")? yeah think that but for the Whole school if they found out.

dating kaoru is like dating a really really famous person except most if not all her fans are in the same general location at the same time. pda is a little hard for you, but to kaoru? oh she'll treat you like one of her "kittens" as to not draw any attention (but if you squint you can tell she has favoritism towards you.)

cmon, she wants to show how much she loves you in public too, you know?

if you guys DO go public, it's going to be a mess. kaoru will be there for you of course, and both of you make sure that you two will not let the mean words or whatever get to each other at all. you're ready to fight for each other if needed because you love each other

kaoru has a way with her words, so she'd say a ton of flattering praises and compliments towards you. she'd compliment you whenever she has the chance, but you can catch her off-guard by complementing/flirting with her back— and seeing her flushed face is so worth it

she's scrambling to find her words if you return the flirt. "o-oh, that's very flattering, dear.." (trying to keep her cool)

but she also loves spending time with you! when it's simple, day to day life, she loves spending it with you. the little things in life start to feel a lot nicer when you're with the one you love, and that's exactly how kaoru feels about you.

that doesn't mean she's not extra extra with your dates sometimes...... although those only happen when she plans it carefully or hhw's willing to help (and fund) it. once, your date was on a literal cruise ship. you two were inside though (and if you're not easily sea sick, you both went outside on the deck)

has she dedicated multiple performances to you? yes. has she tossed guitar picks on stage in your direction in hopes you'd catch it? absolutely. has she given you one personally with her signature during a really special performance on your anniversary where you didn't catch the guitar pick? yes, yes she did.

practices and after concerts are almost the same in a way that she would take up every opportunity to flatter you— except after concerts, you'd congratulate her. whether it'd be roses, chocolates, or maybe just a simple hairpin, she'd treasure it. you might catch her wearing that hairpin the next day, or in a concert for everyone to see.

now, theatrical performances. she loves you but she has to stay in character, right? however that really doesn't stop her from looking over in the audience for you, hoping, just hoping you're there. and when you are, when she sees you, she will perform to her utmost best. (not like she already was... but seeing you makes her motivated)

you mean everything to her, and she'll never ask for anything more.

Right now Tim Drake is in this sort of weird spot where DC has no idea what to do with him. Sometimes he’s Robin, then he’s Red Robin and it’s all really confusing. So here’s what I think DC should do. 

Stop making him Robin. I know for most writers he’s the Robin they grew up with, but cmon man. That ship has sailed. RR has a special place in my heart because I loved Red Robin (2009), but I think it’s time to give it up. Like Robin is literally in the name. Give my boy a unique identity and a name that isn’t stupid (like what the hell was Drake??). And pls for the love of god let him age like to at least 21+ so while he’s going on daily life threatening missions he can at least legally drink. Next give him an interesting story. Send him to space or to Texas or to Europe which he apparently loves so much. Idk the story part isn’t my job. Just give him something so even if you haven’t read a batman comic in your life you can still understand his story. And don’t forget to make him kind of an asshole! That’s a trait of his people have been neglecting lately. Also, and people might disagree with me, he doesn’t need to be in a relationship. That’s all I have to say.
