Mkay but hear me out. Lan Wanji is definitely like... at least a little autistic. He doesn't really get social cues, has a hard time expressing emotion--especially through facial expressions--, has an aversion to being touched for the most part, thrives on the ridgid structure and schedule of the Lan clan, and is very strict and black and white about his sect's rules.

Now listen, I know that's not enough to diagnose anyone, but given that Wanji is a fictional character and we have no offical writing in his POV, I'm just gonna extrapolate a bit about it. It doesn't even change anything, it just makes me very, very happy.

I tend to write separate headcanons for them but tbh, at this point I’m going to write them together. I’ve seen the animation (donghua) and the live action, currently reading the novels! The animation and the drama are a bit different, in the drama the Wen Clan was a part of the event the Gusu clan held but in the animation, that wasn’t a thing so I’m going to stick with the animation. WWX did meet Wen Ning during the sunshot campaign if I remember correctly? Regardless, the Wen clan are slightly hated at this point. Minus the exceptions (Wen Ning and Wen Qing’s small branch), the Wen clan is full of arrogant and ego full assholes who nobody likes. While you try your hardest not to be like them, people still lump you with them.

I like to think that LWJ doesn’t exactly hold any negative emotions towards you, you’re just. . .there. WWX however, is a mix. You’re apart of the Wen clan so at first he may be a bit like on guard, but he’s not one to judge too quickly so he waits to see how you are before affirming his belief. Once he deems you’re not a threat and just misunderstood, he tries to do that playful teasing.

“You’re a sight for sore eyes, normally the Wen clan is full of inexperienced yet proud members.”

While he may be correct, it hurts to have your name disrespected. You try to avoid WWX as much as possible and focus on your mission, but he’s always around. I think the main point is what you chose to do when the Wen Clan tries to take control. Are you going to stand up for the others or are you going to assert power. LWJ, I’m gonna be honest, I don’t see him liking anyone other than WWX, so while I have written headcanons for him in the romantic sense, he’s doing it for WWX. LWJ may end up forming platonic feelings, but probably not romantic. So having that in mind, I think LWJ would enjoy knowing that even in the Wen Clan, there are still some good people. He’d probably give advice or support you, try to guide you into doing the right thing. WWX is probably the person who probably thinks power dynamics are somewhat attractive. He loves assertion! I don’t exactly have much to add, during the battle they probably hope you haven’t died or on apposing sides. When the small Wen Clan branch is being murdered they also hope you have gotten to safety. WWX would probably try his hardest to ensure you survive. LWJ would also, he really admires the strength you have to go against your own clan even if it’s wrong (secretly until after WWX dies because he did go against his clan and received I think 300 slashes?)

Modern Jin Ling makes his parents play Cooking Show for him at least once a month. Each kid gets to pick a mystery ingredient and they all gather up to watch them try to puzzle out what to make for dinner. Whoever (Jaing Yanli) makes the best part of the meal Wins (seriously Jin Zixuan hasn't won once [not that he cares]). The judges are the kids and whoever's sibblings happen to be wandering though at the time

Okay, headcannon time. So, Lan Jingyi is unique. He is loud, crass, and extra af. He 100% does not seem to fit into the Lan image and no one seems to do anything about it.

Aside from him mentioning punishment one time, and that was when they forgot their signals (something they actually never got punished for) everyone seems to just accept Jingyi how he is and let's him do whatever. Shizhui might point out that he needs to calm down but again, nothing really comes of this.

Why?

Lan Jingyi is one of Hanguang-Jun's disciples. Although he wasn't raised by him like Shizhui, we can assume he has learned most of what he knows about Cultivation from him. And for a kid like Jingyi, I guarantee Wangji had a soft spot.

He is wild, loud, and constantly breaking rules but he still has a good sense of morals and justice and he is so much like Wei Wuxian used to be.

So of course he is going to give him special treatment. He won't punish Jingyi (unless he actually deserved it) and everyone knows it, because he doesn't want Jingyi to lose his spark. He doesn't want to see another ember burn out, like he had to with Wuxian.

Anyway thanks for coming to my Ted Talk and honestly I'm sure I'm not the first person to make this observation, but hey, this blog hasn't existed that long so please give me a break.

Lan Sizhui (Headcanon)

Sizhui is a very calm and cool headed person but the first time he saw you he was stunned.

Jingyi would tease him a lot about it.

"Just talk to him Sizhui!" He would poke his side repeatedly while the dutiful Lan would try his best to ignore him.

He would smile when you would be appreciated by Lan Qiren.

He couldn't find courage to walk up to you to start a conversation.

He noticed you while you sat in the gardens reading a book and was in awe.

Lan Jingyi saw purposefully dragged him there.

"Childe (C/n)! Sizhui wanted to practice with you if its not a problem that is!" Jingyi would skip formalities and leave his friend with you.

"Oh.. Of course Childe Lan.." You would reply just as softly as he had expected you too.

A surprise it was for Sizhui when you had beat him.

"You're pretty good! Let's practice again some time..." You had smiled, leaning slightly to pat his head.

He was left with a red face as you walked back to pick your book.

He never expected you to act like you had with him.

He smiled "Childe (C/n)... Would you like to go to Caiyi town with me?"

His question was uncertain and you smiled looking over your shoulder. "Of course.. See you later.. Sizhui."

He had never been so thankful to Jingyi before.

It's kind of ridiculous that people are offended by JC's headcanon being aro/ace, like, bro?? is it just a headcanon?? no one is saying it's canon but it's certainly easy to imagine it being and some people like it so live and let live It's not like you can say 'the aro/aces feel bad about that headcanon', because of course there are some aro/aces who don't like the headcanon, but that's like saying a straight ship is wrong cause there's straight people who don't like it And literally like 70% of the people who have the headcanon are aro/ace, so… It's also not valid to say that 'jc can't be aro/ace because he liked WQ', because that's not even from the real canon, that's only in the clq, in the novel I seem to remember that they didn't even talk once?? Also, I recently saw a post from someone saying that JC made his list of characteristics for his perfect match impossible to achieve on purpose because he doesn't want to get married, and i mean, that makes some sense. Anyway, this last one isn't canon nor am I trying to imply that, so no offense, okay? I can't imagine the JC canon (from the novel) falling in love with someone, honestly, that's why I like the headcanon of him being aro/ace If you don't like it, don't look for things about it, that's it, but don't shit on it, come on
