How did the Waynes' funeral go down? Could it be held privat? Did they have to hold two; a private one and a public one? Were there paparazzi anyway, wether private or not, to get a picture of Bruce? Were the extended Wayne and Kane families in attendance? Was there a scandal?...

Well, their graves are on private Wayne grounds, so I would assume it was private, with the extended Wayne and Kane Family there.

Alfred was probably standing at the Gates with his shotgun.

there was also Major beef between the Waynes and Kanes about inheritance, and a massive scuffle when they realized it was going all to Bruce and various Charities. And that Bruce's legal guardian was going to be Alfred.

I bet Alfred was shell shocked.

We're at it again folks.

Another aspect of Rick's decision to make Annabeth black is what does this mindset imply for further adaptations of his works. For those of you who don't know the Kane Chronicles are being developed by Netflix. And oh my lord please don't mess up their races.

For those of you who don't know, TKC is hands down the most racially diverse series this man Rick has ever written. Literal stroke of genius from the premise to the plot, to the characterization of the ancient Egyptian House of Life and the Gods. The characters in TKC literally operate and navigate through an international Network of magical headquarters spanning from Cairo, Russia, Japan, and of course Brooklyn. So Arabs, Russians, evil French men, the works.

THE MAIN CHARACTERS CARTER AND SADIE KANE AND ARE SO PRECIOUS AND GLORIOUS. They go through so much change and growth and literally I love Rick's third series but Magnus Chase could never. An important thing to note that is brought up constantly in the books is that Carter and Sadie do not look like siblings. They both have the same parents (a white mom and black dad) but while Carter looks brown skin with a mini afro, Sadie looks like your everyday white girl with blonde hair, and blue eyes. Sadie being white-passing though, doesn't invalidate her biracial identity. She still is half-black, it just doesn't show on the outside. So while Carter has to deal with racial stereotyping and profiling, Sadie has to deal with feeling like a fraud, separated literally and metaphorically from her family. THEIR RACE IS SOOOOOOO IMPORTANT because it has had literal ramifications in their lives that affect them still.

SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The main thing to understand about the Kane siblings is that they were separated for 6 years. To punish their parents for breaking ancient laws and to keep them from triggering each other's powers Carter and Sadie are separated and while Carter travels the world with his dad, Sadie is raised by her dead mother's parents in England. The literal reason Sadie was kept by her grandparents instead of Carter is that her grandparents are racist shits who couldn't bring themselves to love and raise a black child. Yes, Sadie is also black, but it doesn't show on her; Sadie literally says in her voice-over that her grandparents don't like Carter because he looks like their father. Like these people were literally ready to turn him [their grandson] over to Britsh Police in a heartbeat cuz rather him than Sadie. Over the three books, Sadie and Carter have to learn to love, forgive and depend on each other despite the blunders and burdens of the adults in their lives and of course their wackadoo Gods.

In short, one of the big takeaways of TKC is that family can look like anything at all. The siblings looking racially different drives this point home. If Sadie is cast as white (as she was written) will all those of you who supported Leah turn your back on Sadie - who represents white-passing biracial people. If she is cast as looking outwardly black, will you clap and cheer because what - only one type of black is legitimate? Even if this throws away crucial parts of the plot? Ask yourself the same questions about Carter while ur at it.

If I see any of you bitching about white-passing Sadie or brown skin Carter, or NOT CALLING OUT THE AUTHOR for messing up their races just for the sake of shortsighted diversity - it's on sight.
