I've really been loving pez dispenser debris and I was wondering if you had any recs for for other bnha fics. I haven't really read other bnha fic before and I'm struggling to define what I'm looking for when I try to find more to read. Like I love the way Todoroku and Izuku interact in your fic. That kind of unhinged friendship that other people don't quite understand. And I love the way Mirio and Izuku intereact, just absolutely each others super fans. I also really enjoy Izuku having to deal with parts of his past being revealed that he never intended.

It's always fun when an author I adore writes for a different fandom than I usually read and suddenly I develop a craving for it.

Unhinged friendship/relationships:

That time I got reincarnated as a doomed side character by gentrychild. I don't know if you're familiar with Isekai as like, a genre, but it basically tends to run along the premise of someone dying and being reborn into a fantastical world, with the world they're reborn into occasionally being a mirror of a franchise that the protagonist is familiar with. This fic runs along the same kind of premise, where Izuku is a boy from a non-Quirked world that has the BNHA world as a popular franchise (one that's very different from canon BNHA). However, he's never read the source material. This one has a lot of the vaguely crackish humor that mine does and it has plenty of unhinged relationships and dynamics in it, including one between Todoroki and Izuku. It's extremely funny, highly recommend.

More Like ENDEVIL, Amiright? by TheBabbleRabble. Ensemble Class 1-A shenanigans where they all collectively try to make Endeavor's life a living hell. All of the kids are very unhinged in this and the rest of the world is frightened. Very funny crack fic.

Date Me (For Justice) by Hayleythewriter. Midoriya and Todoroki embark on a fake dating scheme to raise queer visibility in the school due to the lack of support systems at UA. They are both in love with the other. Also extremely funny and all of the kids have a sort of zany dynamic between them.

Looping back to the beginning by Feneris. Class 1-A gets caught up in a time loop and decides to use this for amusement. All of them are very unhinged in a way that terrifies the world around them.

Mirio&Izuku Superfans:

I have pretty much nothing here that I can think of, whether it be between Izuku and Mirio or any other characters. Mirio in general doesn’t have a lot of fics where he’s the focus (that I’ve found).

I think the closest that I could recommend would be:

the see it all in bloom series by aloneintherain. Honestly, this series is so fun and well done that it’s worth the read no matter what. It’s a series of one shots that follows the Class 1-A kids (+ Shinsou - Mineta) after they're established pro heroes. It has a lot of the class supporting each other and cheering each other on as each other's fans, and it's delivered in a lot of the social media format that chapter 6 of pez dispensers uses.

hand-picked by pocketramblr. This does not have superfans so much but it does have Mirio and Izuku in a supportive friendship with each other. The premise is that, instead of a high school system, heroics works off of an apprenticeship model, and Izuku is All Might's first and only apprentice. Mirio is Nighteye's apprentice and he still adopts a senpai role with Izuku. I've found it difficult to find fics with a focus on Mirio and Izuku's friendship, and this is very much a fun universe and a fun take on Mirio and Izuku within it.

Both are really fun worlds to hang out in and I really recommend giving them a spin. That being said, neither of them have exactly the vibe of what Mirio and Izuku do in pez dispensers to me, so they may not be exactly what you’re looking for. In the sense that Mirio and Izuku in pez dispensers are walking around like "and I would like to thank god for putting me on this earth at the same time as this beautiful soul because it is honestly a blessing and an honor to breathe the same air as him." The energy is just a little different, but I can't think of a fic that has quite the same energy. If anyone has recommendations, please let me know.

Past Revealed:

things that haunt our hallways by ghostwriterofthemachine: this is less Izuku specifically and more the entire class (- Mineta). The fic follows from Aizawa’s point of view retrieving the Class 1-A students from a deserted, partially destroyed cityscape after they were accidentally hit by a haywire fear inducer Quirk during a rescue simulation. The first part of the fic follows him finding each student caught up in their own personal terrors, some hallucinating, some not. The second part of the fic is more recovery centric, with all of them going back to the dorms and comforting each other while the Quirk wears off. It’s very well written and has a very thorough understanding of each character.

those hardest to love need it the most by DancingInTheStorm. Honestly, DancingInTheStorm is a really solid bnha writer and it's worth it to check out all of their stuff. However, this one as the sort of aspect of it being a reveal fic about a lot of the issues surrounding Izuku's Quirklessness to Aizawa specifically.

Honesty's the (Best?) Policy by honeyandsunshine. Sero POV of taking care of an Izuku who's been hit by a Quirk that puts him in a state of lowered inhibitions and compulsive honesty. Tw for discussion of canon-typical suicide baiting/suicidal thoughts.

It's Just Different

Katsuki Bakugou x Reader

Summary: Sometimes nothing hurts more than falling out of love.

A/N: It's just angst I'm sorry :( The words in italics are past situations or conversations. Also it's not talked about in the story the readers quirk is similar to Shinsou where if they get another person to answer to them they control what they do but also get them to admit the truth. Lemme know how you feel about the writing <3

As a Pro hero you know better than anyone that there's bad days, but today has by far been the worst one… coming to terms that the love of your life had fallen out of love with you and you had fallen out of love with him.

Six years ago you fell in love with Katsuki Bakugou and his spitfire personality when you were students at UA, he didn’t treat you differently than everyone else you simply knew how to accept him for who he was and he admired that even though you could easily take down all of UA with your powers that you never would, you were the definition of a hero and that's how he grew to love you, this was the person you not only grew with as a partner in life but in work. He grew in the rankings until soon enough he was in fact the #1 hero while you were #3 hero, shortly after he had gotten his number one hero ranking the two of you got married for sure that the two of you would spend the rest of your lives together, just two young dumb kids ready to take on the world together.. but that's not realistic is it.

Three years have passed and now instead of shared laughter and passionate kisses, its chest tightening frustrations and yelling at one another till your throats are raw. Now you lay here by yourself waiting for your husband again knowing he wouldn’t be home until it was nearly time for him to leave again. You can't stop this feeling of pain in your chest when you know it’s finally time to let go, at the end of the day you know that you love him more than any words can describe but just because you love someone it isn’t and will never be a good enough reason to stay in an unfixable relationship. As you lay here you think about everything that has led up to this moment because no one knew what went behind closed doors between you and bakugou as you were both very private people except for one person, the one person that was the start of all your problems. Izuku fucking Midoriya. 

Izuku Midoriya was in class with 1a with you and bakugou and to everyone else they would swear that bakugou hated Midoriya more than any other living thing on the planet but you could see through his facade he did care about him, even though you’d have to near kill him before he ever admitted it. Of course you knew bakugou cared about you but sometimes you couldn't stop the pang of jealousy you felt when he would ditch you to train with midoriya so that he could “beat that damn deku and prove he’ll become the #1 hero”, but anytime these feelings occurred you’d be reassured by the sweet moments that you could never forget. 

“Come on seriously y/n why do you look like that” bakugou asked as you two continue to sit there after everyone else had piled out of the classroom.

“I don’t know bakugou I just do” as the words left your mouth he really knew you were upset about something because he couldn’t even remember the last time you had called him by his last name.

“y/n i’m not an idiot just tell me what’s wrong so i can go train some more against shitty deku” he says and he can hear the sigh of frustration leave you. 

“That’s exactly it.. You keep ditching me to go train against midoriya. Do you know how that makes me feel huh? It makes me feel like shit I understand wanting to be a better hero. We all want that, I just want you to care about me the same way” you manage to whisper out before finally deciding to walk away. As you get to the door bakugou grabs your arm stopping you before you can leave, 

“You think I don't care about you dummy? That’s why I'm training so hard I wanna be the best for you so we can kick all the villains ass together. I love you y/n”. That was the first time Katsuki Bakugou had told you he loved you and you had never been happier even in that cheesy moment. 

You smiled thinking about those days, even though there were a lot of hard times especially with villain attacks and still trying to figure out how to use your power to its full potential, you managed to still find moments of light and happiness within Katsuki Bakugou. Even after you had graduated UA and gotten married things had been adventurous and fun with bakugou that was until about after a year and a half of being married the both of your work loads had increased and since the two of you had worked at different companies that meant you had been seeing less of each other.

That’s when it all started: the phone calls at night saying they’d be late coming home because they had to work on paperwork with midoriya or late night watches around the town. You couldn’t lie to yourself after months of the same phone call that eventually just became a short text. You felt like that small, fragile girl that you were in high school and you definitely weren’t her anymore, then you remember the day that had started all of your future fights. You had just gotten off patrol with your partner charge bolt or otherwise known as denki kaminari, you were about to be back to your headquarters when you had seen them. Bakugou and Midoriya were getting ready to start their patrol but that wasn’t the problem, the problem was the way bakugou was looking at midoriya and vice versa the look he used to give you. The look in his eyes that you had been craving and begging for months but now it was given to someone else and you couldn’t stop the hurt you felt, but you knew he loved you so maybe you were wrong it was nothing.

Yet you still let those feelings grow and the hurt turned into anger so several nights later when bakugou had come home from his shift he had noticed your silence which was strange from you. The silence was deafening before you had finally decided to speak: 

“Do you love me?” You remember as the words had left your mouth, Katsuki had looked at you as if you had three heads. 

“What the hell are you going on about of course I do” even as he said those words there was something you had to ask. 

“Even more than Midoriya” You could see as his face turned red with anger and right then would be the start of all your future arguments. 

“Why in the actual fuck would you ever think I like much less love that shitty deku, seriously y/n your delusional” he yells getting closer and closer to you until your eventually cornered against the wall. And as the words leave your mouth, you can’t help as your voice breaks:

“Because I see the way you look at him, it’s the same way I've been praying you’d look at me like again for months now” Tears were now streaming down the both of your faces as apologies were said.This began the cycle of kiss and make up, avoid the topic like it was the plague, pretend like we weren’t both hurting , that is until the hurt turns into anger and then we repeat.

You can’t stop the tears that roll down your face as you think of everything that has happened, it's now well past 2am when you hear the front door open. For a split second you can't stop the rapid beating of your heart, you knew this moment was coming but you weren’t ready for it.. Not yet, you weren’t ready to face reality, ready to face the worst moment that's probably ever gonna happen to you, ready to face losing the man you had planned your whole life with.

But this time you were done fighting, you don’t want to grow to hate him and if you continue doing this you know that soon enough you will. Bakugou comes into the room expecting to see you asleep like normal except this time you were sitting in your shared bed, tears staining your face. He comes and sits next to you wiping the tears off your cheeks, 

“What's wrong babe” he whispers as he sees the pain lurking behind your eyes. 

“I think you know Katuski..we can’t keep doing this, it’s just gonna hurt us more” as your words settle he knows that you’re serious. This is the first time you’d called him Katuski in who knows how long and oh how he had missed that one simple name leaving your lips but it's too late now even if he was ignoring some of his other feelings he still loved you it was just different he didn’t know how to explain it but either way he was just gonna deny your words. 

“No y/n I love you, I need you” his voice cracks. 

“Not more than you love him tho Katsuki, and if you love someone else then fine even if its killing me on the inside to say outloud but I would rather do this than stay here and keep breaking inside more… I can’t do it. I know you love me but it’s not in the way you used to and you just don’t know how to accept that….so please just say you love him so we can both move on please….” Once again the silence is louder than any screams you had targeted towards one another. 

“Please don't make me y/n, it’s not true” he sobs, even though he knows no matter how many times he tries to deny he knows your words are the truth. 

“I'll use my quirk if I need to and get you to admit it Katsuki, I need this I want to move on please” he knows that if you use your quirk all of the truth will come out and he can't accept it he's not ready to talk about everything so he just mutters the words that you both have known as reality for over a year now 

“I’m in love with midoriya”.

In that moment time had officially stopped and reality had crashed down on the both of you. You were no longer the two 17 year olds running around UA hopelessly in love with their life planned ahead of them. Now you were the two that had fallen out of love and had to move forward with their lives, no matter how much hurt it was causing because you both needed to heal just not with each other.

Izuku is avoiding Shouta after a seemingly harmless injury that he didn’t get looked at turned out to be sm worse (let’s say is losing his hearing or voice or even feeling in his limbs? Either Izuku knows sign or he’s learning or going to physical therapy). Shouta finds out and is devastated but supportive, Izuku apologises for pushing Shouta away and they work on it from there (- this one was a bit iffy trying to communicate how I saw this in my brain)

Or if u aren’t planning on putting it in Say You Want Me then could we possible see how the underground heroes treat NiteLite based on ch. 19?

Or could we see how people react to Izuku sparring/getting angry?

And if ur doing a reg prompt - sunshine character a + feral character b meet perpetually angry character c whilst fighting - snarky banter, misunderstanding is fixed (character a, b or c could unknowingly be on wrong side) and they take down the evil foe together -

Their friends are protective of the relationship, barring people away that consider confessing to either one of the couple bc that’s out of the question lmaoo

(This one makes me laugh so I thought I would share) - character a doesn’t realise how they come across until it gets pointed out to them in an offhand comment, are quick to deny it but are then given multiple examples which makes them rethink every interaction. Character a then decides to use it to be a menace to society.

Or character a has a crush and is v good at hiding it by literally hiding - technically hiding from everyone until they get confronted and there’s a confession but not from character a tho! Character a decides that this can’t possibly be real and chooses to run only for said crush to go after them. Yelling ensues until character a is tackled and they have the Star Wars roll in the grass moment then kiss w character a finally understanding that their feelings are reciprocated

I have a few half formed plots floating around, but I might fiddle with a prompt I answered last time I did prompts-I like the idea of Vampire Aizawa finding the very human (or is he?) Izuku fascinating. Hm, so if I were creating a poly relationship with MHA characters I'm torn between Todoroki/Shinsou/Izuku or the very fun idea I saw...somewhere of Shouta/Izuku/Oboro. I think it might have been on Rayshippouuchiha's blog, but don't quote me on that. We actually are going to see the reactions to Nite-Lite heavy handed manipulation attempt in Say You Want Me. I love literally all of these prompts, by the way! I'm always down for Aideku prompts.

Izuku knew exactly what was going on even before he went to the Doctor to confirm it.  Hearing loss.  Kacchan had enjoyed detonating his explosions around Izuku’s face during elementary and middle school.  Izuku had gone the apprenticeship route after middle school, but the damage had already been done.  He’d had a small amount of hearing loss that was found at that point, but nothing like he’d noticed recently.  

He’d been hiding it from Shouta.  He knew he shouldn’t, but Shouta didn’t like Kacchan at the best of times, but hearing that Kacchan had permanently damaged Izuku’s hearing would absolutely be the straw that broke the camel’s back.  “Thank you Doctor,” Izuku murmured after too long of a silence, the Doctor looking at him in concern. 

“Of course,” Doctor Aiko said, her voice equally soft.  “And…there are good hearing aids now, one’s that you can’t even tell are there unless you already know they are.  This doesn’t have to be…”  She trailed off.

Izuku offered her a wan smile.  “Thank you,” he repeated as he stood up.  “I’ll reach out when I’ve made a decision.”

“Of course.  There’s literature the receptionist can provide as well, to help you narrow down your options.”

Izuku couldn’t speak any further, so he just offered a small smile and nod before walking out of the room.  

He was surprised when, a few days later, Shouta sat them down.  “I don’t know what’s going on,” Shouta said quietly, “But if you’re going to break up with me I’d prefer you just go ahead and do it.”

Completely baffled, Izuku just stared at him.  “I-what?”  

The tense set of Shouta’s shoulders relaxed slightly, but his eyes stayed focused on Izuku.  “You’ve been pulling away from me recently, ignoring me when I’m talking to you and not talking to me about…anything, really.  You’ve been spending so much time gone recently it’s a miracle we’ve managed to see each other at all,” he pointed out. 

Izuku sat back and rubbed his hands over his face.  “Shit,” he muttered into his hands before dropping them and looking up.  “I’m sorry, I’ve been…processing some bad news.”

“What?”  Shouta asked, worry overtaking his expression.

“I-”  Izuku swallowed and started again.  “I have substantial hearing loss,” he told Shouta.  “I had some minor hearing loss when I was a child, but it’s degenerated…rapidly.  I need hearing aids, pretty much immediately.”

“Oh,” Shouta said softly.  “You haven’t been ignoring me, you haven’t been able to hear me.”

Izuku saw his guilt and immediately shook his head.  “I should have let you know what was going on-it was careless of me to not mention it when I knew I was having trouble hearing.  And I know I’ve been gone a lot.  I’ve had a lot of Doctor appointments to try and figure out the best fit for me when it comes to hearing aids.”

Shouta reached out and clasped Izuku’s hand gently.  “I’d like to come with you to the next one, if that’s ok.”

Izuku offered a small, slightly tremulous smile.  “I’d like that.”

Ohhh Teach I got so many feelings!!! I’m sad happy and horny at the same time i loved the scenarios 🥰🤧 Shinsou my poor sleepy baby I love him too much. Everytime i listen to the cure (a lot lately) I cannot help but to think of him because from the start I hc Shinsou as a huge robert smith stan! I imagine him wrapping his arms around me, both sitting in the bed of his room listening to pictures of you (I know I know that’s the most popular but it’s just so good and romantic!) enjoying each other’s warm and pecking kisses to one another (you can tell I’m blushing rn) I feel like he would be one of the best bfs, besides aizawa (another dream of mine) which d you thin would be the best partners? And what a cute Shinsou headcanon. I can see him doing that tbh, as long as he gets to spend a relaxing time with you doing nothing but have you in his arms and kissing you between shared stories, heaven!

That's a tough question, and as much as I want to answer it objectively, I don't think it's possible lol so let me give it a shot:

Obviously I would pick Aizawa as a perfect and I repeat a perfect partner, the guy is clearly a husband and father material (my uterus is fluttering right now) he would die for you no questions asked, and we've seen him multiple times getting severely hurt/ on the verge of death trying to save his students.

I also think Kirishima and Taishiro (fatgum) would make amazing partners, they're gentle and caring and (this is a headcanon of mine but I believe it to be true) they would never care what size or color you are, what hair type or length you have, how many scars or stretch marks are there on your body, whether you're tall or short... When these guys fall in love, everything about you becomes their favorite.

I adore Bakugo and Shouto they are two of my best things in life, but I believe being in a relationship with one of them can be a little "challenging" ← allow me to put this in quotation marks until I can explain my point.

Shouto can be blunt and clueless most of the time, a combination that puts him in the center of several misunderstandings, so in order for you to crack your way into his heart, you'll have to understand him he's never had a regular childhood, or a regular family, so be his family and look at him for who he is not for how powerful his quirk can be. Do that and you'll guarantee winning his heart.

As for Bakugo, he's not big on making friends or being social, so you'll have to be special in order to grab his attention, he admires strong, capable and self-reliant people ( the last part is my headcanon) so if you are one or all of these things, then he's yours, though you'll still have to be the one to confess first, and same as Shouto, you'll have to understand him because even if he's ill mannered, his heart is always in the right place.

Now let's speak about our precious Izuku, I believe he and Kirishima are the same kind of partners. Izuku too will love every single thing about you, though he would be shy to express it most of the time, but his blush and the way he looks at you lovingly can be enough proof of his undying love.

Let's finish with Shinsou. I see him as the younger version of Aizawa, exactly! The same! So with more years to his age/ more maturity/ life experience, I can see him becoming the kind of partner Aizawa is.

on deku vs kacchan 3 and the way mha uses fight scenes

I think that a really distinct reason of why every “Deku VS Kacchan” match feels far heavier and different than most other fights in MHA is because it doesn’t matter who wins.

Rewatching both fights so far recently had me thinking. I opened up the clip on youtube and watched it, feet kicked back on my sofa. The video started and hummed and hawed as per usual on the remarkable development and comparison of this to their current relationship in canon. Hey, I thought to myself then. I don’t remember Deku winning in their first fight.

But I rewinded it. I watched it. I opened the wiki and I reread it. And he did.

I was obviously taken aback. I remembered most of the MHA plot, having read and watched both the anime and manga and being up to date. I could remember a vast majority of the fight scenes simply because they were my favorite parts about the anime. So why didn’t I remember the outcome of DvK1?

I eventually understood.

The thing about every fight Katsuki and Izuku have is that who wins or loses never really meant to matter.

You see, with every single fight in MHA, it was almost always a matter of who wins or loses. Villains, obviously, were meant to lose each time--and in any situation where they won, the intention was to strike fear into viewers and make them doubt the hero. The narrative of these fights were always about winning or losing because of the stakes behind them.

Eri. Kouta. Bakugou.

There was always a higher stake. Something to be won or someone to be saved.

Even with students, there was always a reason behind every win or loss. Even narratively. Deku VS. Shinsou, for example, had a stake on either end. Shinsou needed to prove himself to the hero course. He needed the validation that he could be a hero and eventually work his way into the hero course. He lost in the end anyway, because he needed that little kick to encourage him to work harder to make it in with guidance from Aizawa. Deku VS. Shinsou had Deku win because through this, he was able to realize the weight of One for All’s true nature (the vestiges breaking Shinsou’s mind control) as well as prove himself worthy in front of everyone’s eyes.

This same structure is applicable everywhere else. In Todoroki VS Bakugou 1, it was to push Bakugou into creating a rivalry and becoming invested in Todoroki’s improvement because he won ‘unfairly’ and to highlight Todoroki’s remaining inhibitions due to his past in an impactful way that eventually encouraged him to finally speak with his mom. Even in minor fights like Tokoyami vs. Yaomomo, Momo’s quick loss was needed in order to introduce and plant the beginnings of what would become her major self-doubt issues at the beginning of her character arc.

To put it simply, winning and losing was always a huge part of how MHA developed fight scenes.

So why are DvKs different?

The main reason why DvKs always feel different in comparison to every other fight scene is because, in my opinion, they aren’t actually fight scenes. At least, not in the sense that MHA uses them as.

DvKs are always built up, always lead through and hinted at through entire seasons. It was never just an arc between them, never just a Sports Festival or Final Exams or anything. Whenever a DvK battle happened, it was always something that had been festering for episodes.

In example, the first Deku VS. Kacchan. The fight happened in episode 7, and was naturally introduced because it was part of a school exercise. The tension was most obvious in the episode beforehand, viewers bracing themselves as soon as we saw that Midoriya and Bakugou would be going against each other in the first round.

But like, okay.

The tension and traces of this battle were actually lined up since the very first episode. Hear me out. In the infamous “Take a swan dive off a roof and pray you’ll have a quirk in your next life!” scene, we hear Katsuki already placing loads of doubt on Izuku’s capabilities. His respect for Deku was rooted in what he knew. And that was, Deku is quirkless and therefore cannot be his equal. Any idea that contradicted to this would mean two things:

A shift in their relationship

A shift in Bakugou’s world views

From the first episode, we are already laden with hints that Katsuki would not take lightly to knowing at all that Deku had any power. He’s stubborn and also incredibly flawed in his values, believing his assumptions about Deku’s character were correct and that he was superior to Deku in every way that ‘mattered’. When we finally get to the parts where Deku is given OfA, it snowballs more and more until by episode six, literally everyone is aware that a battle between these two is inevitable.

The subtlety of these hints meant that we as the viewers were expecting this fight, whether we consciously realized it or not.

No other fight is set up like this--excluding villain fights like the Overhaul arc, which is excusable because the set-up used in these battles were always about its stakes. In DvKs on the other hand, the stakes were practically nonexistent unless you had a huge bias for either character (obviously, in most of our cases, Deku because Bakugou wasn’t exactly winning anyone’s hearts in the first season).

Each DvK fight is less of an actual fight and more of a conversation. They’re utilized to dispel the growing tension between Midoriya and Bakugou and repair their relationship regardless of who wins or loses. Deku didn’t have to win DvK1. Either way, Katsuki still would have gone on with the knowledge that Deku had a quirk he never told him about. Either way, Katsuki would have walked away with the ultimatum that he now had to acknowledge Deku properly. Regardless of winning or losing, both Deku and Katsuki were able to leave these fights knowing something new about the other and having a conversation to dispel tension caused by misunderstandings.

DvK 2. We’ve all seen plenty of analysis posts on this episode. Did it matter that Katsuki won? Did it matter that Deku lost? Aside from that really tense final scene where they pinned each other that I’m sure all of us remember, the result of DvK 2 had no significant change on the outcome.

The fight was a conversation. It was where Izuku and Katsuki were able to see each other eye-to-eye. The tension that had been boiling--had been continuously hinted at by Kamino Ward and then the Licensing Exam Arc just like how DvK 1 was prepared for since the first episode. There was always a catalyst behind these fights that had nothing to do with the actual need to win or lose--that aspect simply inherent to both Katsuki and Deku’s wins.

Don’t get me wrong; the win or lose aspect is something that still has an effect on either of their characters, but the difference is that they aren’t the main point of each battle. This is something even Bakugou admits in DvK 2 when he tells Deku to stop overthinking their fight. 

It was never about winning or losing or strategy. It was about the intentions behind it.

Both Deku VS Kacchan fights so far have always occurred when there was a needed turning point in their relationship. Each time unsaid secrets or opinions between Izuku and Katsuki pile up, the metaphorical straw that breaks the camel’s back is another fight. They’re less of interjected conflicts and more of milestones for their relationship.

(For sure, if DvK 3 does happen in the manga, we’ll definitely be in for a surprise on how Deku and Kacchan develop next.)

Y/N and Momo, but mostly Momo had decided that they would dedicate their last free day in the city to shopping. “It’s a celebratory shopping trip for finally getting the keys to the new shop!” Momo cheered, as the two friends made their way into the shopping center. “I mean, I was thinking of hookers and cocaine; but I guess blowing money is also fine.” Y/N declared snickering at the snort that came out of Momo’s nose. “Don’t even joke about something like that, Izuku would cry about it the whole time.” Momo huffed out as she and Y/N made their way to the Boba shop. 

A few hours into their shopping day, the two friends made their way around the massive shopping center, idly making conversation. “You know what!” Y/N exclaimed clutching Momo’s hand, “We need to go to Louis Vuitton! I think they’re new line is out and they have this wallet I’ve been eyeing for months.” and at break neck speed the two women booked it, to one of their favorite stores; only to be greeted by the sight of a chubby faced, short haired woman screeching at the sales person, who looked like she was going to cry. The woman was dressed in a pair of leggings, and a crop top. She had a pair of gucci sunglasses perched a top her head, and her nails looked newly manicured. From a distance, she looked like the rich bitch type; but growing up with Momo taught Y/N one thing; and that was how to tell the difference between a rich bitch and a fake hoe miles away. 

As the two women approached the store, they failed to noticed an angry looking man walking behind them, headed in the same direction. He was tall, with broad shoulders and spikey ash blond hair. The sides were faded extra short and the top was long. He had tattoos running down his arms and across his chest. The tank-top he was wearing under his flannel showed his back piece peeking if someone were to look hard enough. The snarl he made is what actually alerted Y/N to his presense behind her; and she swiftly tugged Momo out of his war path. Muttering an apology Bakugo proceeded towards the direction of the store, surprising both women when he stepped inside. 

Inside the store, Katsuki was standing behind his girlfriend as he listened to her scream and yell at the salesperson about whatever dumbass reason she was yelling. Honestly he didn’t give a shit; didn’t even want to fucking come on his only day off this week, but what the fuck ever. As he half listened to her ranting, the front entrance dinged notifying the store that another customer had entered. “I-I’ll be with you ladies in a moment.” the store clerk had stuttered out; as Ochaco continued to rant and rave. “Oh don’t you worry sweetie; we can wait for you to finish with that unruly customer.” one of the women murmured smiling softly. The woman next to her cackled, and it brought a small smirk to Katsuki’s face. “Just say it Momo, a circus is missing it’s prized banshee.” At the sound of the insult, Ochaco whipped her head around; ready to yell when she was met with the site of not one, but two alpha women. A part of her wanted to shrink back, she had never had the nerve to deal with two of them; but most of her was going to put these bitches in their place. Before she could though, one of them had stepped away to look around. “I’ll leave this for you Y/N, I’m going to see those wallets you were talking about.” Momo whispered as she turned and made her way to the wall on the other side of the store. 

Uraraka smiled internally pleased to be left with who she presumed as the more docile of the two women. Y/N looked at the other woman, eyes narrowing slightly. “Are you alright miss?” Y/N asked the sales clerk, as she moved around the other woman. The clerk, nodded slightly eyes filled with unshed tears. Y/N pulled the shorter woman in for a hug and patted her back softly “It’s alright, I’ll deal with this; can you do me a favor and grab me some of these?” she asked, showing the clerk exactly what she was looking for. Nodding slightly, the sales woman answered, “I’ll be sure to get those right away ma’am.” As she turned to go to the back, Ochaco reached her hand out only for it to be stopped by Y/N. “I don’t think so chubs; you and I are going to have a discussion about how to treat retail workers.” 

“How I treat the help is none of your business.” Ochaco snarled, crossing her arms over her chest. “Aren’t retail worker supposed to stick together?” Y/N asked, looking down at her nails in disinterest. “The fuck is that supposed to mean?” as the two women are interacting, Katsuki is silently taking this scene in. In most cases, he’d deal with it himself; but Uraraka fucked herself this time. He knew she was in the wrong; and he was going to let her deal with the repercussions for it. “You think, I can’t tell that you work in a department store?” Y/N asked looking the other woman up and down. She laughed slightly at the way the short haired girl puffed her cheeks. “Let me guess, you’re a part time cashier in a department store; and then you have a small youtube channel about “fitness”” Y/N asked air quoting the word fitness. Beside them Katsuki snickered. “Babe, you’re supposed to be in my corner!” Uraraka snarled facing her boyfriend. “Kind of hard to do when she’s got you pegged cheeks; and she’s right, you shouldn’t be talking to that woman that way.” Katsuki grumbled out. Y/N chose to ignore the shot of lust that went straight to her pussy at the sound of his voice. 

As Ochaco moved to say something, the clerk had returned with the items Y/N had asked for. “Here’s everything you requested miss, and you’re in luck; this is the last wallet until we restock next month.” the clerk smiled eyes shining with veiled pettiness at the fact that the short haired woman wouldn’t get what she came in there screaming for. “You fucking told me you were sold out!” Ochaco screeched ready to lunge at the sales clerk. “I never said that ma’am. I said I’d have to go back and check; you would have known that had you bothered to shut your mouth and listen.” the clerk stated narrowing her eyes slightly. “Tell her girl! Go on!” Y/N stated, sifting through the wallet pockets. On the other end of the store Momo was cackling quietly as well as updating the GC of the days current events. “Do you know who the fuck i am?! Who the fuck my boyfriend is? He’ll fucking crush you!” Uraraka screeched, slamming her fists on the glass. “Sir, I think it’s time you take your child home. She’ll no longer be allowed to shop here.” the clerk stated sternly towards Katsuki. “Fucking christ cheeks; it’s a stupid fucking wallet and it was probably too damn expensive anyway.” he grumbled, trying to drag her out of the store. “It was only 1500 Katsuki, and you promised you’d buy it for me!” she screeched out latching onto the counter top. Katsuki let out a snort of disbelief, “You must be fucking crazy if you think I’m going to shell out 1500 dollars for a fucking wallet you’re only buying for the aesthetic.” He snarled out unlatching her hands from the counter top. “Now let’s fucking go.” As he made his way towards the exit Y/N waved her black card in front of Ochaco’s face; “I’ll take two of everything to make up for that shitty customer. You get paid based on commission right?” Y/N asked cheekily, and all that could be heard through the shopping center was an enraged Uraraka Ochaco and a swearing Katsuki Bakugo.

“I don’t know what the fuck is in Tokyo water, but the men here are sexy and the women here suck.” Y/N mumbled to Momo as the two made their way to the parking lot. To their surprise, Katsuki was out there sitting on the hood of his car; seemingly waiting for them. “I uh...I wanted to apologize for my girlfriends shit behavior.” he mumbled out scratching the back of his neck as he cast his eyes down to the ground. Y/N stepped forward and titled his chin up with her index finger. “You’re a fucking king, so fucking act like it; and don’t go apologizing for her shitty behavior. She’s an adult, and she should take responsibility for her own actions.” Y/N huffed out a pretty smile stretching over her features. Booping his nose, she giggled at the way his cheeks flushed and waved as she walked passed him. “See you around King!” she called behind her as she and Momo made their way towards the car, Katsuki watching them a shocked look on his face.

That night, Katsuki was in his apartment alone, as Uraraka was still pissed with him; so she had opted to stay with Camie for a while. He spent that evening playing over Y/N’s words and continued to do so into the following morning.

-Katsuki and Uraraka have been together for 10 years. In the beginning of their relationship Katsuki was very outspoken and he didn’t let anyone treat him any kind of way. As the relationship progressed Izuku and Denki could see that the Katsuki he was acting like wasn’t the Katsuki they really knew. Being with Ochaco made him soft, in the ways that he shouldn’t have been; and she’s spent the last number of years walking all over him. Y/N could tell what kind of person he should have been and she hoped her reminder that he was more than he was being treated stuck; and it did. 

-That following Monday showed a bit of the old Katsuki, and it started with him NOT paying Ochaco’s bills anymore.

Shinsou x Reader x Deku Zoo HC’s

Pairing: Poly ShinDeku x Reader/Shinsou x Reader x Izuku

Description: A day trip to the zoo with Reader!

Warnings: Established poly relationship, otherwise none. Maybe tooth rotting fluff.

A/N: First and foremost! Both boys and the Reader are in an established poly relationship, are Pro!Heroes, and are aged 21+. Bet y’all can’t guess where I went today lol. Today had hella Shinsou vibes, and of course I will forever love the green ball of sunshine that is Izuku Midoriya, so this happened. Enjoy!

A Day At The Zoo

-It’s so rare that the three of you ever end up with the same day off together, so most of the time you have to plan ahead if you want to have outings or adventures, the zoo included!

-It was Deku’s idea first. Well, not idea per se; he just suggested it in passing and you hopped on that train of thought so freaking fast! A whole day spent looking at cute animals with your cute boyfriends? Um, yes please!

-Shinsou had never been to the zoo before, so he didn’t really understand the hype at first. What exactly was the point in visiting animals other than cats? Especially when you can’t pet or hold them? But if it made you and Izuku happy, then who was he to say no?

-Izuku recommended a zoo that was a little bit farther away than your local one, but it had so much more than the typical barnyard animals at yours. He’d gone a few times himself for fundraisers and meetings but you and Shinsou had never been there before.

-So the three of you planned out a day in advance, took the day off from your respective places of work, and thus, the adventure began!

-You talked about it for weeks beforehand, right up until you were parked at the front gates. “Are you guys excited? Because I am SO excited! I’m gonna pet the goats, and the stingrays, and the sharks, and look at all the birds, and take so many pictures-!”

-The first thing you spot is the giant monarch butterfly chilling on the flowers outside of the front gates, so you already know it’s gonna be a good day. You already have your camera whipped out to take a pic.

-Izuku thinks it’s the cutest thing, and Shinsou is literally taking a picture of you taking a photo of the butterfly. The butterfly might be photogenic, but honestly, he thinks you’re the real work of art here.

-The three of you pay and no sooner than when the receipt was in Shinsou’s hand were you running off to the first exhibit, both boys trying to keep up with your pace so they didn’t lose you.

-The first exhibit had some arctic animals like polar bears and seals, which you watched for a while with a content smile on your face. The bears were up and playing around with a dented bucket and a huge rubber ball, and you got some really cool pictures of them. Izuku even managed to get a video of a seal gliding through their underwater tunnel.

-Once again Shinsou is taking pictures of you taking pictures of the animals, because he thinks it’s absolutely adorable. He has this little smirk on his face as he watches you from the camera lens. Although he has to admit, the polar bears are super cute. 

-You keep bouncing around from exhibit to exhibit. One moment the boys are watching the wolves with you, and the next, you’ve wandered over to the giraffes by yourself. Shinsou briefly wonders if they should invest in one of those backpacks with a leash for you.

-Eh, they can just use Izuku’s arms instead. At some point in the day, you’re not really sure when, Izuku just resulted in wrapping his arms around you and holding you while you’re looking at exhibits to keep you from running off. He likes to rest his chin on your head and listen to you gush about how cute the animals are.

-And when you’re walking from place to place, you can bet he’s immediately reaching for your hand to lace his fingers in yours. You end up in between him and Shinsou who also wants to hold hands with you.

-You point out all the animals, even the ones that aren’t a part of the zoo, and the boys think it’s endearing. “Awe, look at this dove over here in it’s nest! Isn’t it so cute!?”

-”Y/N, I don’t think-” He’s being good-natured about it and laughing because he finds it sweet, but Izuku can’t finish his sentence because Hitoshi is slapping a hand over his mouth.

-”Just let them be. It’s precious.”

-”Hello, Mr. Squirrel!” You probably name all of the local ducks and geese walking around, too.

-Eventually you guys make it to the aviary, and you start to explore all the bird exhibits.

-Shinsou, immediately: “It’s so loud in here.”

-Izuku seems to know little random bits of information on the birds, and really enjoys watching them fly around.

-”Shinsou,” you beg him, “can you take my picture next to this giant bird!?”

-He perks up a little after that. Also, he already took your picture. He’s super sneaky and really good at taking pics while you’re not looking. Some of the best photos he has of you and Izuku are candids he took without you knowing. Nothing terrible; they’re all literally still shots of your smiles, your eyes, or just of the two of you doing routine things. His whole camera roll is full of you and Izuku.

-After the birds, you come to the penguin exhibit.

-Penguins just so happen to be Izuku’s favorite animal at the zoo. He loves how they waddle around without a care in the world, and he thinks their black and white patterns are just so unique!

-Definitely embarrasses Shinsou by imitating the penguin walk. He’s a goofball with the two of you, you know he would! And you’re right there with him, following him around with your hands at your sides as you waddle behind him. 

-”I don’t know them,” Shinsou jokes with the people next to you. But he loves you both, you can tell by the way he’s smiling. He thinks it’s cute how the two of you act like this together...in a dorky way, but still.

-Finally, you guys get to the aquarium. The moment you step through the door, Shinsou is practically mesmerized by the fish. He’s never seen so many before; there’s so many colors and shapes and sizes...

-He feels peaceful while he’s watching them swim around.

-You like all the really weird fish. Izuku likes the tropical ones with all the crazy colors, and Shinsou...

-He loves the moon jellies. The second he stepped in front of that tank, he was gone. You and Izuku just watch him for a moment as he relaxes his shoulders and stares into purple tinted waters, totally serene and carefree.

-Izuku takes a 2 minute long video of him bc the moment is just so precious. RIP anyone else who wanted to look at the jellyfish today, bc Shinsou’s literally been there for like 10 minutes now

-Shinsou decides he really likes the zoo after that. Every other exhibit is much more enjoyable and he’s in such a better mood. Not that he was in a bad mood when he first got there, it’s just that he didn’t see the point in all of it at first. 

-Izuku also spends a while looking at the sea turtles, which happen to be his second favorite animal.

-You guys spent the most amount of time in the aquarium no thanks to Hitoshi, but you did manage to make it to the museum before it closed for the afternoon as well.

-Izu reads all the plaques out loud to the two of you and tells you all about the animals and displays. Some of them are interactive, and you can’t help yourself from pressing every single button and listening to the noises and information it gives you.

-There’s a section in the museum where you can pet stingrays. You had never done something like that before, and neither had the boys, so the three of you decided to give it a go.

-It was so soft.

-Stingrays feel like wet velvet, almost. 

-Izuku decides he’s done so he just ends up taking pictures of you and Shinsou. But soon you’re done too so you grab Hitoshi to leave, however-

-You and Izuku are walking away and suddenly: “Uh, Y/N? Wasn’t Shinsou with you?” “No, I thought he was with you?” “Where’s our boyfriend!?”

-You turn back around and he’s still there petting the stingrays. He’s SO fascinated, please don’t make him leave. He’s having the time of his life! It melts both of your rapidly beating hearts (you know, from the mini heart attack you had bc your other third was missing for a second).

-You both let him stay there for however long he wants, and when he reluctantly leaves (finally), you make your way to the giant gift shop at the end of the zoo.

-You guys buy so much stuff it’s not even funny. Partly because as Pros, you have the money to spend, and partly because you want to support the zoo so you can come back. They always appreciate business and donations.

-Speaking of donations, Izuku whips out his checkbook and makes a huge donation to a cause for sea turtles. The zoo is super thankful and you couldn’t be more proud. 

-You’re sure that if there was fund for jellyfish, Shinsou would be donating too.

-You all end up buying each other a plush of your fav animals; Izu gets a penguin, Shinsou gets a jellyfish, and you get your favorite animal too.

-You may or may not have bought a shirt as well... It has the zoo’s museum name on it along with some really cute animals.

-All in all a really great day! 

Bonus Content:

-Shinsou wants to book another trip as soon as you all are back home. He loves the zoo now and he wants to go, like, all of the time.

-You and Izu have caught him watching jellyfish videos on youtube on more than one occasion. He finds them relaxing and can’t wait to go see the real thing again.

Todoroki’s gaze lowered to the floor tiles, his mismatched eyes tracking the irregular pattern. He probably knew the pattern better than most, if he had revisited it for over a decade. Bandages, hospital beds, media speculation. He had already seen it all. That was the pain that came with a brother in need.

“Do… do you still see him?”

“I try.” Todoroki rubbed his hands together, the same as Iida had done. “My father’s pretty much abandoned him, but I don’t want to be like my father. Touya wasn’t always like this. I can remember a few fond memories with him. I want to try to bring him back, but he fights me. He says there’s a voice only he can hear that’s telling him to light the fires. As long as he’s a slave to it, he’s not going to change. It’s helpless.”

Helpless.

Midoriya was right. Todoroki could sympathize.

“I know how that feels. Seeing my brother in his bed, unable to move on his own… It's helpless. I can’t do anything. And I keep thinking, if I had been there, if I was with him that night, maybe I could have -”

“That’s pointless.”

Todoroki’s harsh tone cut through Iida’s lungs.

“What?”

“Thinking about the things you could have done. I do it too when I see the bandages on Touya’s arms. But wallowing in self-pity isn’t going to do a damn thing to actually help him if that’s what you want to do.”

Iida grasped at his pant knees, bunching the fabric between his trembling fingers. “That’s exactly the problem! I don’t know how else I can help him! Feeling guilty I wasn’t there is the only thing I can do!”

“You most likely would have been killed if you were there, Iida,” Todoroki retorted. “Your brother’s probably thankful that you weren’t.”

“You don’t know that.”

“No, but I know you. Look, you obviously care about your brother a lot. I’m sure he wouldn’t want anything bad to happen to you. None of us do. You’re basically a brother to the whole class, anyway. Even if you feel like you can’t help him, you’re always doing your best to help the rest of us. That’s enough, isn’t it?”

Soul Bond Facts

So clarifications or extra details from my fic Putting Infinity into Words that I had to cut for time. I suggest reading that before this otherwise nothing under the cut will make any sense. If it does anyway.

- Soul Bonds are bonds you share with people who, over the course of your entire life, you will share a relationship with. The relationship can be good, bad, romantic, platonic, antagonistic, as long as you have some impact on another, you will have a bond. It begins the first moment you touch and lasts a lifetime, even if the relationship itself falls apart at some point. Its a representation of your entire dynamic through touch.

- Every time you touch a Bond Mate, the Bond renews, strengthening in its own way. Each touch brings with it the entirety of your feelings for a person you will have during your relationship. The feeling is unchanged throughout the lifetime. The deeper the feeling, the more intense and strong the Bond. People like Izuku and Bakugou have a complex Bond bc it starts out very antagonistic and ends up (decades later as pros) very strong and positive. Each time they touch they feel that entire spectrum of what they’ll feel for the other which can be very confusing.

- The Bond is composed of a whispered fact about your future relationship (take every interaction you have with someone over a lifetime, shake it up and  have one random fact falls out). When the Bond is “completed” it means that you have reached the point in time where the one fact occurred. Its signified by a whole body tingle and you’ll never again hear the Fact in your head. Though the Bond is completed, the relationship endures and you’ll still feel the Bond hum when you touch. 

-Bonds always come true, even in roundabout ways. Many people debate if Bonds cause decisions or if decisions cause Bonds but its an unanswerable question. Some (like Bakugou) try to avoid the Bond but end up fulfilling it instead. Others run towards it, trying to fulfill it (like Todoroki) not realizing that Bonds complete on their own time table.

- While the Bonds can be about pretty much anything, from the ordinary to the life changing, more often than not they comment in some way on the future relationship between people. 

- Izuku’s Bond to Kirishima: He Will Protect You Kirishima’s bond to Izuku: You Will Break His Fingers. 

Kiri feels really bad about future him hurting his bud so, in a show of friendship and dumbassery, Izu tells Kiri to break his fingers now in attempt to complete the Bond. It doesn’t work but they get a lecture from Recovery Girl and a good laugh out of the situation

- Uraraka to Iida: He Will Keep You Grounded Iida to Uraraka: You Will Give Her 1000 Yen

Iida, being the lovable, rich Himbo that he is, is always giving Uraraka money thinking its part of their bond. Uraraka tries to refuse at first but it was upsetting Iida so she started accepting it. Getting 1000 yen every now and again really helped her stretch her food budget when times were tough. Almost every time they touch, Iida will begin searching through his wallet to give to his friend. 

- Though Izuku’s Bond with Tsuyu completed at USJ (She Will Save You From a Villain), Tsuyu’s Bond to Izuku (He Will Frighten You) isn’t completed until their first year as Pros when Izuku fights off a villain with two broken arms, snarling and manic. 

- Bakugou does eventually accept his bond with izuku (He Will Always Be By Your Side). It took a while, longer than canon bc hes spent years raging at the idea specifically of working alongside Deku. By the time they graduate though he chokes out a semblance of an apology and they settle into a healthier, if really really intense rivalry. Over the years they become attuned to each other, a Bond so strong, it resonates all the way back to 4 year old Deku and Kacchan on the playground.

- Gran Torino’s Bond to Izuku is that Izuku will knock him out one day which he finds incredibly amusing. Doesn’t know why the brat gets all teary eyed when they touch though. Izuku avoids touching his grand mentor because he doesn’t want to be reminded that he will be present when the older hero dies. It happens 10 years later, peacefully but the knowledge is still an ugly heavy burden. 

- Izuku is certain his Bond to Shinsou (He Will Sleep On Your Couch) means he’ll be a hero and, in the end, is right. Shinsou’s Bond says that Izuku would get him flowers and he has numerous nervous breakdowns thinking they’ll start dating but it actually completes 7 years after the Sports Festival when Izuku brings him flowers in the hospital after Shinsou was hurt in a villain attack.

- Todoroki, god love him, seems to think he needs to kiss Izuku in order to keep up the Bond (You Will Kiss Him). Izuku doesn’t really correct him of this because the attention and affection is quite nice. At first the kisses are platonic until midway through their Third Year, Todoroki is like “wait I think I’m in love with Midoriya. How was I supposed to know falling in love would be a consequence of constantly kissing my best friend.” Uraraka looks into the camera like she’s on the office.

- Iida is in the eventual Tododeku wedding and, still freaking out on which side he will stand on, switches back and forth throughout the ceremony. Izuku is trying not to laugh but iida is SUPER OBVIOUS about his movements. Todo doesn’t notice anything but his handsome groom all day. 

- What Aizawa heard through his bond with Izuku: You Will Watch him Become Number One Hero What Aizawa told Izuku: I knew you’d be a problem

He tells exactly no one until Izuku eventually does make it to Number One, Aizawa claps him on the shoulder and tells him good work also great job completing the Bond which floors everyone. Kept that shit hidden for years

- Stain’s Bond with Izuku said that Stain would rescue him which completed when he saved Izuku from the Noumu. Izu’s was that Stain Would Hurt Someone He Loved which also completed when he went after Todoroki. Izuku tries not to think about the corrupted, ugly whispers of a warped Bond he heard from the Noumu, one he thinks he might remember from one of his childhood playmates who disappeared. He cries over it anyway.

- Toshinori’s Bond to Izuku (He Will Learn Your Secret) completes with the reveal of Nighteye’s prediction of his death. Izuku’s (You Will Call Him Father) doesn’t complete for many, many years. He calls Toshi ‘dad’ a great many times in that period.

Some random BNHA boys headcanons!

(Featuring K.Bakugou, H.Shinsou, H.Sero, and E.Kirishima!)

*I've seen all of the anime, so far, but am not very far in the manga. If some are canonically disproved, then I'll figure that out on my own time–

I do mention things I think up to the point of the school festival(I think that's around where the anime goes to, at current), though. If you haven't caught up to that point, you may not want to read this post.

Katsuki Bakugou

His dorm room is sort of a mix between Izuku's(not like he'll ever admit it), Eijirou's, and Kyouka's. The color scheme is prolly really based around his hero costume, with lots of blacks and oranges and maybe even a hint of green. Knowing his pride, even his sheets are prolly custom-made to match his aesthetic. Kat's got a punching bag and maybe other training equipment and, after the school festival, he ended up giving into his new hobby and got his hands on a drum kit. He's also got a couple of All Might merch, ofc– A poster, maybe a collectible here and there.

Katsuki isn't necessarily aromantic, because he does crush and knows a relationship-worthy person when he sees one. But, he strictly identifies as such because he feels it'd be selfish as a pro hero to have a lover than can be targeted. Plus, well, he has no interest in distractions, as tempting as it may be.

He's kinda like a tsundere when it comes to his parents' clothes lines, lmao. They love sending him stuff to wear and he honestly does feel pretty stylin' when he wears such, but he always protests and is all "Nada nada nada, I'm not some goddamn walking ad"

Kat's the only person in class 1-A who's completely fluent in English. Momo and Shouto are the only two that can really compete.

Hitoshi Shinsou

Shin's room is actually very cozy, warm, comfortable. He keeps a lot of cooler colors like grays, blues, and purples, with plain sheets. He also kinda sorta takes pride in the white fairy lights that decorate the walls– That lighting is kind of dim, but rediates calm vibes. He also has a sort of nest of plush pillows on his bed, that he can just sorta fall into at the end of a long day! It's surprisingly neat(other than his bed), as while he is too lazy to clean, Hitoshi's also too lazy to make a mess.

Over his time in UA, Hitoshi also develops his own sorta unlikely friend group! This includes Izuku Midoriya(Sports Featival, self-explanatory), Denki Kaminari(EraserMic parallels, plus I think a certain mangacap), Neito Monoma(It all started with a fist fight...), Momo Yaoyorozu(Responsible woman), and Mei Hatsume(They met during the Sports Festival). I like to think that Monoma and Shinsou are exes. It's a tolerate-hate relationship.

Similarly to Katsuki, Hitoshi sort of identified as ace-aro before having gotten with Neito. He doesn't really know what he identifies as, now, but he does crush every now and then.

Shin's got three pet cats! There's Bonji, a ginger tom of a housecat. He's a really prideful spoiled jerk that Hitoshi can't help but love, despite his ego. Bonji also probably ends up fathering Monster's kittens– She's a very very fluffy, chubby grey-and-white Manx. She's real snuggly and calm, and quiet. More of an observer than anything. Then there's Bear, this time a really whiny brown-and-white Manx that tends to get herself in trouble.

Also, if he's not a hero, then he's definitely a therapist. Or an author. Or both, most of the time. His office is called "Hear Meowt" and he's known for bringing cats in, from the local shelter.

Guns scare him. He thinks it's kind of a silly fear(especially for a pro hero) and would prolly get teased if it ever gets out, but– He could never bring himself to even shoot one. Gets all nervous if somebody in the room possesses one. The only class he puts 100% effort into, is Snipe's.

Also, Hito just– Never learned how to swim, cnejcmf. He's not scared of it or anything, and he's okay with hanging around a pool, but he can't swim and won't admit it.

Hanta Sero

Growing up he had a really bad habit of chewing his elbows(He also happens to be a flexible king) and ended up having to get braces(blush surgery because he messed up his goddamn elbOWs). That's why he has such straight teeth. He doesn't really like admitting it so he tries to be subtle but early on in the year he chewed on his retainer, too, and I bet there was one day where everybody just heard SNAP! from inside his mouth. Smile thru the pain, bby.

Also, yes, Hanta is a stoner– But! Being a hero-in-training, he's prolly ths most responsible stoner you've ever met. He'll never smoke on days that he has class or that he plans to train, and God forbid sharing his weed with others(unless, y'know, there's a responsible sober person around).

As such, he's not allowed to attend Bakugou's birthday. Doesn't stop anybody(other than Katsuki) from dragging him in, anyway, tho.

Eijirou Kirishima (But mostly his family)

His youngest sisters are the product of, ah, a cheating mother. So yeah, both parents are now divorced though the kids are in said mother's custody, because unfairness. Thing is, with a single mother that works, the situation gets especially bad after Ei moves into the dorms.

His older sister, the oldest of the kids, is Etsuko. She's 22 and left to America for college, as soon as she got the chance. She hates mom but is chill with all of her siblings, talking with them and dad whenever she gets the chance. Otherwise, her current girlfriend is a pro hero!

Then, after Eijirou, is Akari. He's 13-14 and filled with angst and anger and bitterness, not really going out of his way to show his hate toward the twins but definitely doing so if prompted. Their mom's sort of in the same boat, except for the fact that he just avoids her entirely. Akari takes after his dad, a lot, and sees him as a role model. Visits him whenever he gets the chance.

And then, there's Aiko and Aika(both twins, 8). Ko is really quiet, reserved, smart– She's the only of the two aware of why they don't have a father figure. As such, she has an internal self-loathe and does sometimes get angry and lash out, as a product. Ka's pretty much the opposite. She's real naive and fun and loud, the kind to play sports and gossip about boys and playfully tease her siblings. She doesn't really know much or care about the situation, but she does wish Akira would be nicer :(

As for Eijirou? Well, he's in a real tough situation. He loves both his mom and dad to pieces and could never exactly take a side, even if a small part of him resents mom for what she'd done to the family. After the divorce and especially after Etsuko left, he became sort of the man of the house, taking responsibility for all of his younger siblings. He caters to both his mother and father and though there is a lot of tense energy between the three, Ei gets by. After the dorms are implemented, he takes every chance that he possibly could to slip by.

Headcanon: Bakusquad (+ others) Singing Voices

So this headcanon has been stuck in my mind for the better part of a week and I NEED to write it out so here goes...

(For this headcanon I chose anime openings and only stuck to one song. I know there are other songs that fit the characters but that’s a problem for a different headcanon. I’ll link all the songs but you can honestly look them up on youtube.)

Imagine that they’re all around 25 years old and are pro heroes and Denki drags them plus Ochako, Tooru and Midoriya along cuz “class” bonding time and what not. Some are excited to be there (Mina, Ochako, Tooru and Kirishima) and some would rather drop off the face of the planet (Bakugou and Shinsou).

Anyways everybody still goes and the exited ones go first while the others get drunk to prepare themselves.

It’s perfect. It matches her energy and May’n is just great in general. It also sets the tone for the rest of the night cuz the others know they can’t fuck around now. It’s actual serious singing this time.

We all know Ochako’s badass and she knows it herself. She’s cute and adorable and besides pop and alternative she also loves rock. She absolutely kills it. Everbody is in shock execpt for Bakugou surprisingly and he shouts, “When has roundface ever not been badass,” which snaps all of them out of their stupor.

Kirishima goes next and everybody remembers that one time in freshman year where he tried and failed horribly to sing so they lightly mock him. What they forget is that he grew up and his voice got deeper and better. Not that he takes singing lessons but he can sing pretty well in the shower. So he sings the first opening of Free! As soon as he opens his mouth, everyone is also surprised. Mina and Denki shout, “Kiri! Where did you learn to sing like that!” The song fits him perfectly. He’s so charismatic that everybody is charmed by him and you wouldn’t know unless you know Bakugou intrinsically, but he fell a little more in love that night.

Sero goes next as he lost rock-paper-scissors with Denki. He’s plain, he knows it and maybe so it his voice. But the other’s don’t think so when he starts singing the third opening of FMA Brotherhood. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3qHKeZjrdU

He closes his eyes for the first half just feeling the song but Denki can’t take his eyes off of him. When he opens his eyes they land on Denki and they both have the biggest smiles in the world. Bakugou is just tipsy enough to join in softly and Kiri’s heart flutters.

Shinsou also lost rock-paper-scissors with Denki so he has to go next. Resigning to his fate he honest to God just picks the first song he sees and it’s the second opening to Bleach. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92TEcszkRBw

His voice is simply beautiful but they all knew that. At the chorus Ochako, Mina, and Tooru get up to dance with him. He indulges them as he’s slightly tipsy but the only one he’s truly looking at is Denki who can’t stop blushing. 

Tooru takes the mic from him as soon as he’s done and sings the second opening of Angel Beats. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eW2WWrzD5KI It’s more upbeat than the first and if you know the anime you know how it hits you in the feels everytime.

She’s excited. Everybody by now is drunk and happy and join her in the chorus. All around good feels for a kinda really sad anime.

It’s haunting. It’s enchanting. They can all definitely imagine her playing her guitar to this song. Nobody takes their eyes off of her. They’re enraptured in her spell. But that’s to be expected from their resident musician.

Denki decided towards the middle that he would go last so now it’s between Bakugou and Midoriya. They’re sort of friends now but still have their rivalry so Denki bets that Midoriya can’t sing better than Bakugou. It riles him up but he let’s Izuku go first as his “opening act.” Midoriya, who couldn’t care less about Blasty’s antics, sings the fourth opening to FMA Brotherhood. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KMZBauH47Jo

He’s good and he knows it but what else would you expect from the future #1 hero and yes he does say that to Kacchan’s face and yes he was almost exploded to pieces but it was totally worth it. 

Properly riled up Bakugou snatches the mic from Midoriya and picks the first song that comes up claiming he can sink like an angel to anything. Everybody was expecting something loud and brash but what they didn’t expect was the second opening to Blue Exorcist. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7EgiRsLd0Q

Yes the song is loud but not exactly brash or in your face. And since Bakugou lost all his inhibitions through alcohol, he pours his entire heart into the song. His eyes are closed and maybe you can see some tears but you know he is feeling every word of that song. Kirishima is completely and totally in love especially when Bakugou smirks at him in the end.

Last but definitely not least is Denki. Nobody knows what exactly he’s going to sing but he has a lot of confidence going last. More shocking than anyone of the night was his pick of the fifth opening to FMA Brotherhood. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRA5gsdCf4c

It’s an entire power ballad and he absolutely kills it especially with the ending. Where as you maybe could’ve seen tears in Bakugou’s eyes, you definitely saw the streams of tears down Denki’s face. Whether it’s from the alcohol or his own personal feelings, no one knows. What he does know are the two pairs of eyes staring at him in awe and he doesn’t know how to feel.

Anyway some relationships bloom, others are solidified, but everyone is drunk and happy for this moment in time before they wake up with extreme headaches the next morning.

While I’m all for angsty Bakudeku with Villain!Deku, I’d love to see their dynamics being more like Batman and Joker from the Lego Batman Movie. The Villain!Deku angst had lost its appeal to me. What do you think their villain and hero crack rom-com would be like? Give all the hc. Personally, I think Deku would fight anyone for the spot of Katsuki’s greatest enemy. And god, imagine the banter between these two. And their team up when they have to fight a common enemy, yess!

I’ll be honest, I’ve never super gotten into Villain!Izuku , but the only Villain!Izuku AUs I do like are basically exactly this.

First and foremost, if you really like Villain Who Just Really Loves Their Hero Crush Lego Batman/Joker Relationship Dynamics, go check out @corndog-patrol absolutely amazing Villain!Mic AU. That’s basically 100% of it and it’s wonderful.

Second, for my own take on Villain!Izuku in love with Hero!Katsuki:

- Izuku is All for One’s Son. All for One loved his family a lot, and he had originally left them to keep Inko and Izuku safe from his enemies. When Izuku was say 7, Inko died (car wreck/illness/something else accidental) and All for One had no choice but to take Izuku back. He fakes Izuku’s death so nobody will come looking for him.

- By this point, Izuku was already head over heels in love with Kacchan, even though since Kacchan found out he was Quirkless, he got mean about it.

- Izuku had heard all his life that he couldn’t be a hero quirkless, and it makes him awfully sad because he had wanted to be by Kacchan’s side. He wanted to be the most important person in Kacchan’s life, but how could he do that without a quirk? Then his dad comes, and Izuku is slowly introduced to the world of villains, Izuku realizes he has another option; he can still be Kacchan’s most important person, he just has to be a villain.

- All for One was worried about his son following in his footsteps, but Izuku takes to villainy like a parrot to anything you don’t want them chewing. He soaks up knowledge like electronics dropped in a puddle, and by god, does he get good at it. All for One is almost scared of how quickly his son picks up on the role.

- All for One has already acquired Tomura, so he introduces the two carefully. Tomura is still young and very fragile mentally. Izuku takes one look at him and decides Tomura is his new second in command. Tomura decides he likes that idea. The two quickly bond and Tomura becomes very protective of Izuku, and visa versa.

- Quickly, Izuku realizes that since Kacchan is obviously going to become the greatest hero ever, Izuku needs to become the greatest villain ever. He can’t do that on his own, so he begins to hunt around for others to join his crew with All for One’s Help.

- Toga is an easy find, Izuku meets her online on a forum about doing anything for love. They’re both like 8 and neither of them should be on there, but whatever, Toga is happy to run away and join his crew.

- Touya is a little harder, but he meets Tomura by chance and gets a crush. He’s not too fond of his family, so he decides to join too. Still, he worries about the siblings he left behind sometimes...

- Izuku meets Uraraka by chance, and decides she would be an excellent friend. After All for One promises her family would be well-off, she joins as well to help Izuku on his quest. 

- With his crew now assembled, Izuku starts training and figuring out ways to fight without a quirk. Obviously he needs to be tough as hell to be a worthy rival for Kacchan.

- All for one is slightly concerned about his son’s crush, but like, the boy is clearly having fun, so what’s the harm?

- Katsuki, meanwhile, grows up even more isolated and anti-social, though now with a sad tinge to it instead of an angry one. He misses his childhood friend even if he pretends he doesn’t, and he puts all his energy towards becoming a hero in Izuku’s honor because that was always their dream. They had promised they’d be amazing heroes together. Regularly he visits Izuku’s and Inko’s grave to let them know how his training is going. He’s still a hostile, passionate, hotheaded kid, but Izuku’s death quiets him, makes him more reserved and softens him a little.

- Instead of Izuku/All-Might saving him from the Slime Villain, Katsuki feels himself about to die and refuses, summoning a huge blast that knocks the Slime Villain off of him. Something he never thought he could do, but managed out of sheer determination to not die here. All-Might arrives too late to do anything but watch and be impressed by the spirit burning in this child. He asks Katsuki what drives him, and Katsuki replies quietly that he has promises to keep.

- Izuku left a camera at the grave, and he hears every word Kacchan says to him, even if Kacchan doesn’t know he does.

- Then Izuku realizes he needs a goal as a villain. He asks his dad, and All for One suggests he aim to destroy the hero system for being unfair to quirkless kids. That sounds good, so Izuku goes with it.

- At UA, Katsuki is a loner, but Kirishima decides to befriend him anyways, and Kirishima’s sunny smile reminds him of Izuku’s so much that Katsuki lets him. Vowing to himself that he won’t let death steal a second bundle of sunshine from him.

- Katsuki is the one who beats Shinsou at the Sports Festival, and he’s also the one who convinces Shouto to use his fire. Demanding Shouto give it his all, because when heroes don’t, people die. Shouto does, but Katsuki wins anyways. He accepts the medal, but it means nothing to him. All-Might thinks back to what Katsuki had said about having a promise to keep. 

- All-Might needs a successor, and he keeps finding his gaze drawn back to this explosive kid with more determination then there are stars in the sky.

- Katsuki and Izuku meet at the USJ attack, only it goes slightly differently. Kurogiri teleports everyone but Katsuki away, and Izuku steps out to fight Katsuki. Katsuki can’t believe his eyes, the friend he thought he lost is standing in front of him, living and there.

- And then Izuku introduces himself as Deku and it all goes downhill from there.

- Katsuki is so fucking pissed because Izuku was Alive. Meanwhile, Izuku is just happy to have Katsuki’s attention on him.

- Izuku keeps showing up, challenging Katsuki to fights and hate-flirting with him, he’s so happy to finally be worthy of Katsuki’s attention, even if it’s in a totally different way then he expected. Katsuki’s pissed as fuck and relieved and also pissed as fuck.

- The only time Izuku gets actually upset/dangerous with Katsuki is when Katsuki publicly declares Shouto is his rival. He gets very emotional and upset about it and this is when the kidnapping happens. Except, instead of the LOV kidnapping Katsuki to get him to join them, it’s Izuku’s crew kidnapping Katsuki and telling him off/telling him to tell Izuku that he’s his worst enemy because how dare he cheat on Izuku.

- Katsuki is so fucking confused but eventually clarifies that “rival” and “worst enemy” are two different things and so Izuku forgives him.

- I don’t even know where this goes from here but I am invested in this now.

Fusion is an act of love (familial, romantic or platonic)! The deeper the relationship between 2 people, the easier they can fuse. This relationship doesn’t have to be a healthy one, but the happier the relationship is, the more stable the fusion is (looking at you, Izukatsu fusion).

Normally (60% of the time) fusions have the 2 separate quirks with no interaction, and this is called having an “unfused” quirk. 39.5% of the time the fusion may develop a third ability. This is indicative of a strong bond between fusion components or of inherent compatibility.

0.5% of the time the quirks “fuse” as well as the fusion. Their quirks combine into a new quirk, related to, but not one of the 2 component quirks. These quirks are ridiculously strong and often make up Hero (and villain) Teams.

There is no link between pre-existing relationship and the fusion of a quirk, it either happens with the first fusion or it never happens at all. There is a strong link between quirk fusion and having a good interpersonal relationship but its such a rare phenomenon that its not really understood.

BnHA Chapter 217: The Same as Him

Previously on BnHA: Deku’s team beat Team MonoShin and secured the overall victory for class 1-A. Aizawa was all “hey Deku wtf was that shitshow out there” and Deku answered truthfully but vaguely and said he wasn’t sure. He credited Ochako and Shinsou with saving him, but then Shinsou got all down on himself and said that he only did it because Ochako asked him and because he knew his team would lose if he didn’t act. Aizawa was all “you bonehead, you’re being too hard on yourself” and said that no hero is born truly selfless and that that’s one of the qualities they train to learn. He and Vlad both agreed that Shinsou had more than earned a passing grade, and would most likely be joining the hero course in year 2. The chapter wrapped up with Monoma declaring that he would have won if he’d known ahead of time that Deku’s quirk would turn out to be a “dud.” This led Deku to ponder what exactly occurred when Monoma failed to use his quirk, and it also prompted Aizawa to ask Monoma to come see Eri, most likely to see if he can help her figure out how to control her quirk.

Today on BnHA: All Might, Deku, and Bakugou discuss Deku’s new OFA shenanigans in private. Bakugou points out that there must be some reason why this is happening now, and speculates on the possible connection to All for One. Later that evening, after unsuccessfully trying to draw the quirk out again, Deku heads back to the dorms ominously pondering the relationship between his power and AFO’s. Todoroki walks up to Deku and is all “dude does this make us two-quirks buddies now” and Deku awkwardly makes up some bullshit about it being an offshoot of his original quirk, which Todo buys into hook, line and sinker. The next day the faculty agrees to move Shinsou to the hero course, and Present Mic says the kid reminds him a lot of a young Aizawa. He also namedrops someone called “Shirakumo��, which immediately makes Aizawa go all stiff and hastily exit the conversation. Over at the teacher’s dorms, Monoma copies Eri’s quirk but proclaims it another “dud.” He explains that his power only copies the bare-bones of a quirk, and not any accumulated power stored within said quirk. Eri apologizes for having a “bad quirk” that’s so hard to deal with. Deku reassures her that powers aren’t good or bad and it all depends on how you use them. He realizes this applies to his own power as well, and resolves to master it no matter what.

(As always, all comments not marked with an ETA are my mostly-unspoiled reactions from my first readthrough of this chapter. I’m caught up with the manga now at chapter 225, so any ETAs will reflect that.)

on the other hand, All Might’s supervision doesn’t always mean much for keeping them in line. he has to learn to assert his authority more

it is indeed consensual! Katsuki’s actually out here trying to help Izuku learn to control his new ability! let’s just stop for a second to repeat that. Katsuki is helping Izuku to get a better handle on his quirk. yes, that Katsuki. and that Izuku

though it seems like he misinterpreted the goal of the exercise a little bit possibly lol. to be fair, in his mind he probably doesn’t understand the need to try and put training wheels on this thing and probably feels like Deku should fucking own that shit

(ETA: and having given it more thought, I’m gonna go ahead and say he’s fucking right, actually. I won’t get super in-depth about this since I’ve already posted about it before, but this shows how much faith Katsuki actually has in Izuku, though. in his mind he doesn’t view the new quirk as a danger, and he seems to be of the opinion that all Izuku needs is more practice using it. what’s more, once Deku starts muttering about how he tried to lock the power away, Katsuki immediately gets frustrated and leaves, declaring the whole thing pointless for the time being. pretty sure this is because he’s already come to the conclusion that Deku will also reach by the end of this chapter -- that it doesn’t matter what the nature of the quirk is; what matters is how you use it. in other words, Deku needs to stop being afraid of it and start embracing it.)

anyways, but the point is that yet again we’re only making forward progress with these two. no regression; no jealousy over Deku powering up yet again. and god but it’s just so, so gratifying to me to not have to go through the whole one-step-forward-two-steps-back thing with these characters. once they learn their lesson, it’s learned. this might be my single favorite thing about BnHA tbh

anyways so let’s continue with this chapter which I’m only one and a half pages into and am already in love with!

so Deku’s looking at his right arm appraisingly and confirming that the quirk isn’t activating

he says its “presence” has complete vanished

and now we’re getting a flashback to what I assume is earlier that afternoon, after the training exercise but before this little get together

again, not even a hint of ill will toward Deku for being so amazing. and after all, why would there be? he already sorted out his feelings on that on the night of the provisional exam. he knows what he has to do and he knows what Deku has been tasked with doing. so if anything, Deku getting stronger is only a good thing, because he’s All Might’s chosen successor and so he should fucking get stronger already

and I love that All Might also caught that as soon as the question was answered he didn’t waste time pondering it and immediately went to the next logical step in the deduction process. he is an official member of the Scooby Squad now

and also lmao at “don’t call people trash,” but I wonder if he’ll actually listen though. listen, at this point there is no Bakugou character development that would surprise me. he is crushing it; I wouldn’t put anything past him

Deku says that all Hellboy said was that “the time has come,” but I’m inclined to agree with Katsuki though that there was some sort of external trigger. what was it that triggered his dream last night? and I’m still not convinced it’s a coincidence that Shinsou has had some involvement with Deku both times that this Vestiges shit happened

how many meetings like this have All Might and Deku had together, though? they’ve discussed all kinds of things about One for All, and yet this is the one topic that they’ve never once addressed, aside from all the way back in chapter 59 when All Might first told Deku about OFA’s origins. they’ve just kind of skirted around this shit. and I mean, I understand why; obviously AFO is a huge trigger for All Might in general, and it’s just easier for both of them to pretend like he’s no longer a threat now that he’s safely tucked away in prison

except that both of them know that is some bullshit, though. because unlike Katsuki, these two clods know about Nighteye’s prophecy, for one. and there is a reason why there’s been a fire burning underneath Deku’s feet ever since the end of summer, and it’s not just because of the conversation the three of them had at Ground Beta. he knows. deep down some part of him knows he can’t afford to sit on his hands. there’s been an urgency in the back of his mind for quite some time now

and as for All Might, he’s been to visit AFO in Tartarus and he’s seen for himself what that situation is like. AFO’s total lack of concern over his current predicament, and his gleeful talk about the “machinations” he’d put into place and about how everything was going just like he’d planned. and we saw for ourselves not too long ago that even the guards over at Tartarus are fearful of AFO and he puts them on edge and they don’t appear to be at all confident in their ability to hold him if shit hits the fan

basically what I’m saying is that both All Might and Izuku have been walking on eggshells when it comes to this topic even though the situation is unavoidable. so I’m really fucking glad to see Kacchan bring it up almost immediately because yes!! thank you!
