(Name) smiled brightly handing his boyfriend, his water bottle and a towel. Getting a loving head pat is return. Making his smile brighter.

The other members watching in envy. "I still can't believe (Name) choose Aone of all people." The other members nodded. "I mean he barely doesn't talk! What's so amazing about him...."

(Name) sat beside Aone and leaned his head against his shoulder. "So you were right about that math equation." "..." "Yeah! Sensei said he didn't even realize he had written it wrong."

Aone nodded. "So how was your classes like today?" "..." "Really? Another project? Man. I feel bad for your class. It's like you guys are always doing a project. Oh! Maybe I can help which subject?" "..." "Oh I don't know if I'd be able to help then. Science isn't my strong suit."

Aone patted (Name)'s head again. The smaller male leaned up trying to get more pats. Aone smiled softly and gave more pats. If (Name) had a tail it'd be wagging so fast right now.

The other players cringed at the brightness from the couple. The two were always like this. They watched (Name) pull out some papers. Homework they were guessing.

"Oh! So since your better at English then I am I was hoping, you'd be able to help me study before the test tomorrow." "..." "Really? Thank you!" (Name) hugged Aone tightly. Aone wrapped an arm around (Name)'s waist before pointing at the paper.

The coaches across the gym just chuckled shaking their heads. "They're at it again aren't they?" They looked at the players who were watching Aone with jealous eyes. "They support him, but are jealous at the same time. That's something." The assistant coach laughed and nodded. "Sure is."

A/N: gods, I just love side characters. tbh, I’m mostly just projecting myself and my imaginations on that (but which writer didn't do that at least once) XD

tags/warnings: reader is tanaka’s brother (could also be adopted) & a dancer, set in season 2 episode 19, Miyagi Spring Qualifier Quarterfinals (at least that's what fandom wiki says, I hope that it's right)

Hey, lovebirds

It was a match from the Miyagi Spring Qualifier Quarterfinals - Aoba Johsai and Date Tech were playing - and the second set with a two-point-lead by Seijou. The third-grades of Date Tech just came running on the bleachers.

“What’s the score?” They arrived at the rail and looked down at the still ongoing game. “Oh damn. Who won the first set?”

“Ehm”, a voice came from behind them. It was the captain of Karasuno with his whole team. “Seijo won the first one.”

“What, Karasuno?!”, Moniwa said, “Oh, hello. Good to see you.” They greeted each other and of course, Sasaya immediately had to restrain the former vice Kamasaki. That’s when they were noticed by other members of their school that they joined.

The game went on with the third-grades as well as Karasuno tensely watching. After a few other points another person came running on the bleachers and immediately towards the rails to look at the score.

Tanaka saw who it was and looked behind him to see his sister calmly stroll towards them.

“Hey!” When you heard his voice you immediately turned around and faced him.

“Oh, hey Ryu”, you grinned when you saw your brother sitting there with his usual attitude and rebellious grin. He informed you about the winner of the first set and then noticed the questioning looks of his teammates except for a few of them - especially Noya who had met you several times before already because of their friendship.

“Ugh, guys, this is my brother, (Y/N).”

You chuckled, “Hi, nice to meet you. Is it so bothersome to introduce me?” The question was directed at your brother.

“Huh, yeah, yeah, actually it is”, he answered grinning. It was usual for you two to bug each other like that. That’s also when your older sister Saeko arrived. “Oh, come on boys!” She tried to throw her arm around you to get you in her side-clasps but you were already trained and easily ducked away.

Fortunately for you, the third-graders of Date saw and waved at you so you could scurry to them.

“Why have we never seen him at games before?”, Yamaguchi asked curiously.

“Because he also has training most of the time.”

“Oh, does he play volleyball too?”, Hinata spoke excitedly. You weren’t really tall, just like him, so he was really interested if you were a player as well. But Ryu and Saeko laughed a little.

“Nah, look at his bag”, Ryu pointed at you standing next to Moniwa at the rails. It was a sports bag and shoes were hanging on the side of it. Which was noticeable is that it wasn’t only one pair but three different ones - two of which most of the boys haven’t seen anything about before. “He’s a dancer.”

“Ahhhh”

“Ok, but why is he standing here now and talking to Date’s former captain?”

Now Tanaka began to scowl and Sakeo chuckled as she sat down. “Because Aone is his boyfriend”, the young woman answered.

Many of their glances quickly went from you to the mentioned player and back again. “Reallyyyy?!”, Hinata was wide eyed looking down at the middle blocker before grinning, “Cooool!”

Daichi and Suga chuckled when they saw Ryu’s expression. “Why are you scowling?”, Daichi asked while still grinning. “Do you not like Aone?”, Suga continued.

“He’s super protective of (Y/N)!” Noya saw his chance and took it.

“Aone is.. alright, I guess”, Tanaka mumbled. The others kept on bugging him a bit but quickly turned back to the game that will decide who would be their next opponent.

Meanwhile you were standing on the rail and watching closely while occasionally cheering your boyfriend on. He had noticed you already and you could’ve sworn that he had smiled a little bit.

The game was really exciting and in the end Seijou won. You saw the third years’ shoulders slump down and them letting their heads hang. You sighed and let your head hang too.

When Date’s team quickly came to stand in front of the bleachers you made eye contact with Taka giving him a comforting smile. Then you signaled him to meet you outside in the halls. You turned around to go meet him. But before you went down you shortly hugged your sister and gave your brother a light slap on the head - which he tried to return but you could duck away - to say goodbye for the day. You’d be driving back in Date Tech’s team bus and staying at Aone’s for the night.

You went towards each other and let the others go past you both before you hugged him tightly. “You okay?”, you looked up at him with your arms still around each other and let your chin rest on his chest. The height difference between you two was kinda funny.

He gave you a little nod but he was still wearing that sad frown.

“You were great.” This made a soft look appear in his eyes that possibly only you came to see and know what it meant.

“Hey, lovebirds”, you heard Futakuchi shouting, “Come on, you can make out later. We’re gonna go to the bus now.” Aone’s team mates laughed. You stuck out your tongue towards them but let go of your boyfriend.

While you went to follow the team Takanobou linked your pinkies like he often did when you walked together.

On the bus you sat next to each other and Aone let his head rest on yours that you had placed on his shoulder. You took his hand intertwining your fingers and rested on your lap. The bus was rather quiet - exhaustion and sadness because of the lost game were the primary feelings. Your boyfriend let out another sigh.

“Hey, Taka?”, you whispered with your eyes closed. You felt the rumble from his body as he let out a low “Mh?”.

“You’re free from training tomorrow, right?”

“Mhm.”

“You wanna go somewhere then? I also got nothing tomorrow.”

“Mhm. Decide tomorrow?”, his voice was so low it send a wave of goosebumps over your skin.

“Mhm.” You felt yourself doze off - your training and the excitement to make it to the game had taken a lot of energy from you too. Soon everyone except for the adults was sleeping.

When you arrived your boyfriend shook you awake gently.

“Hey, (Y/N)”, his voice was still hushed and even a little deeper than earlier.

On the way to his mom’s car, who was so nice to pick you both up from school, your arm found his place around his middle while he placed his on your shoulders.

After eating you both went upstairs to his room to get ready for bed. Aone laid down on top of his blankets and got out his phone while you still searched through his closet for one of his hoodies. You quickly changed into it after finally finding what you searched for and flopped down on top of your boyfriend.

“Oof”, he played as if you were heavy enough to crush his brick of a body in any way.

You chuckled and kissed his cheek. A smile that only you got to see appeared on his lips.

His hand went to cup your cheek to pull you closer and kiss you properly. You sighed happily and let yourself fall into the kiss.

After you parted, you snuggled close to him and placed your head in the crook of his neck. That way you fell asleep like many times before already.

Aone hadn’t noticed the letter yesterday, and he felt bad that you’d had to wait to know you made a mistake. If he knew which of the lockers near him had been your target, he would’ve dropped it in for you himself, but he didn’t want to risk another mistake. So instead he found you on your way to first period.

“Hey, Aone!” You grinned, and he wondered if you were still cold from being outside, the red still visible in your cheeks as you looked at him. Your eyes alighted on the envelope in his hands, opened, and you opened your mouth to say something when he shoved it into your hand. He didn’t want you to be upset with him for reading it- but it hadn’t been addressed! He hadn’t realized what it was, at first, and then he finished it just to know what he lacked that you liked someone that wasn’t him. But your fingers slowly clasped around it, “Oh… okay, thanks, Aone. I’ll see you at practice, I guess.” You walked away, but Aone wasn’t sure why you looked so upset. Shouldn’t you be glad that you’d be able to give it to the right person now? He wished he could make you smile. You were usually always smiling when you left his company. Were you that embarrassed that he read it?

You weren’t sure why you thought the letter was a good idea. He had always been nice to you, but he was nice to everyone even when they were afraid of him. You supposed now that you just read too much into it. Aone didn’t owe you his affection, he probably had a lot of confessions yesterday and didn’t want to make you think he was open to your affection. Maybe he accepted another’s first. He was late with the rejection- but you hadn’t managed to get the letter into his locker until he was practice. You had to claim a teacher held you up when the coach wondered why you were late. Sighing, you sat down in class next to Futakuchi, who immediately was raising an eyebrow.

“Okay, what is this? Where’s the excitement I’m always complaining about?”

“What’s there to be excited about?” You answered stubbornly, glaring at the letter before stuffing it into your pocket, only to pull it back out and try to rip it- but he snatched it out of your hand.

“Nu- uh. No. You are not chickening out of this. You talked my ear off for hours about writing this stupid thing.”

“Can’t chicken out when you’ve already been rejected.” You shot back, moving to take it back, but he held it further away.

“What the hell do you mean?” He glared at the letter, knowing how you felt- but also knowing how Aone felt. “Did you write something stupid in here?”

“What? No! I wrote it exactly like we talked about! And even if I didn’t, does it matter? He still rejected it!” You paused, slumping into your seat, “He rejected me.”

Futakuchi spent all day trying to figure out how it happened. Why would Aone reject you? The boy was half in love with you before you became their manager, and Futakuchi felt like everyone could see the heart eyes perpetually stuck to his stone face when he looked at you. So he asked Obara. “Any idea why? Like Y/N wrote this letter- I didn’t expect a rejection!”

“You got rejected because of a letter Y/N wrote?” The two of them turned to see Koganegawa standing, clueless expression on his face.

“No, idiot, Y/N wrote the letter and-“

“So Y/N got rejected??? Who would reject Y/N??” The first year setter’s voice echoed around the club room, stunning the rest of the team into silence.

Aone turned to stare at them, before he actually spoke, “I hope it is not because I read it.”

Futakuchi’s eyebrows shot up, “What do you mean? Why wouldn’t you have read it?”

“I believe Y/N made a mistake in locker numbers. I gave it back.”

“Oh, Aone, you absolutely stupid tower of a guy.”

When Koganegawa burst into the gym, it was nothing out of the ordinary to you.

At least until he opened his mouth.

“Y/N! Captain says someone rejected you! That’s not possible, right!?”

Oh, you were going to murder Kenji slowly.

Ignoring Koganegawa, you continued getting the gym ready, moving through the list of things you needed to do, but as you finished you realized the rest of the team still wasn’t present. “Kanji, go get the others. Practice was supposed to start almost ten minutes ago.”

“Aye, aye!” Finally pausing in theories of how it happened, the tall boy ran to the club room, only for you to hear Futakuchi yelling at him to shut the door.

Stomping over, you threw it open, “Kenji, you can’t still be changing! Practice is-“ You paused, sure enough they were not still changing. Instead, they were all crowded around Aone as he sat on the bench in front of a pen and paper, “Are you guys having a study session or something?”

Everyone was frozen as they stared back at you, before Aone stood, holding the paper out to you as he bowed. The first thing you caught at the top was an apology.

“Aone, really, it’s okay. I shouldn’t have gotten so sensitive. You don’t need to apologize for rejecting my confession.”

He just thrusted the paper in your direction again, so you took it with a sigh.

Reading it made you realize that he hadn’t known the confession was for him- and you realized you had never actually written his name on it. You slapped a hand to your face, “I’m an idiot.”

“No.” His deep voice spoke quietly before a soft smile graced his features, “You are very nice.”

Futakuchi walked up, slapping the original letter into Aone’s chest, “Here you go, big guy. Now let’s get to practice.”

“Yeah, about that,” You turned to your best friend with a sharp glare, “You mind telling me how Koganegawa knew about my supposed rejection?”

The captain ran, and as you moved to chase him, Aone caught the back of your jacket and held you in place. He spoke quietly when you glanced back at him, “Maybe let him go this once. He helped in the end.”

You conceded with a nod as you smiled at him, “Fair point, big man. How about we take a trip to that book store I was telling you about after practice? I’m pretty sure they have that series you were reading.” He nodded, giving you a brief but crushing hug before he followed the team to the gym.

Picture marrying Aone after school, he’s a construction engineer, he makes enough money so you can do what you want as a job! For the sake of this headcannons though, you’re a house spouse!

Aone seems the type to like lots of plants, and a few terrariums! He still has his tortoise too, so you and he fix up the back garden into a tortoise paradise! Aone enjoys gardening with you, him wearing his work gloves as he trims hedges and mows the lawn, and he looks over and your sunbathing with your tortoise son! One of his favorite activities!

Your house is def one he ended up atleast working on with his company, he only trusts his company to build a house for you both, maybe an added room or two, could be your own office if you want to do something, a guest room or even a future kids room, he doesn’t mind which.

Definitely need a big kitchen for such a big man! As a construction worker, he eats like no bodies business! Don’t have to worry about leftovers going bad in this house, cause y’all never HAVE leftovers! He tries to curb his stomach, but whenever he does that, you put a stop to it right away! He needs fuel to work, so eat!

Since graduating, his belly has gotten a bit softer, but his chest, arms and legs are as firm as ever! Your pretty sure he’s gotten BIGGER since he started working! Sure during down seasons he may gain a bit of weight, but that’s usually during winter and it just makes him more cuddly. Besides, he loses it within the first month of being back on the job!

Aone is up before you most days, his job requiring him to arrive at the butt crack of dawn, so you usually bring his lunch too him, and enjoy some time together during his break. Even if his coworkers tease him about what a cute house spouse he has, and he blushes bright red to the tips of his ears, he will NEVER ask you to stop bringing him lunch! EVER!

When he comes home, he’s almost always dead on his feet, trudging into your home barely able to keep his eyes open. If you help remove his work clothes, and get him into the shower, he feels his heart swell with love! Especially if you bring him some snacks for the bath, and even more if you join him and maybe even give him a little massage!

He adores snuggling up to you in bed, but you may have had to have a bed custom made since he’s so big! A California King for sure. He loves flopping into bed, especially if you’re already in there reading so he can hear your slight scream when you bounce as he lands. He’s secretly not so secretly a little spoon, but prefers to face you. He loves laying his head on your chest, and is out like a light if you massage his head. Though he may drool on you if you do that for too long!

Takanobu Aone - Since day one

Warning : none

Genre : fluff

Synopsis : Aone plans a first date with MR by having it start as a picnic and ends with them playing volleyball as way for them to burn the calories. When in reality Aone wanted an excuse to see MR play volleyball since that is what got him attracted to him in the first place.

Reader : male (you/he)

He had asked his friends about his plans for his date with you and had now planned everything down. From picking you up at your flat to walking you back at the end of the day.

"Let's repeat one last time," Kenji told him.

Takanobu only nodded with a hum, seriously ready for the following interrogations

"First you…?"

"Pick him up."

"At his flat, yes, don't forget to…"

"Compliment him."

"On his look, yes, then you…"

"Walk to the cat café."

"Yes and ask him how he's doing, and so on and so forth, don't let the silence be awkward, okay ?"

"Mh"

"Once you're done drinking, you…"

"Pay."

"Good, good, then for the picnic you…"

"Choose a warm place near a tree."

"For some shadow, yes. And for extra romantic points you can take his chopsticks to feed him"

Takanobu blushed lightly at the image but nodded along.

"Then you…"

"Ask for a game of volleyball."

"To lose the extra calories, yes."

Takanobu nodded again. His friends didn't know the real reason for this volleyball game. It was the first time he saw you. They don't know that.

"The team will be here to play with you guys, but we won't go easy."

"Mh"

"Then you walk him back home, don't forget to… ?"

"Compliment him on his game."

"And… ?"

"Thank him for today."

"And… ?"

"..." Takanobu froze. He had no idea what else he was supposed to say.

"I, love, you. You're supposed to tell him you love him, Aone." His friend said, making him blush. Does he really have to say it now ? Not that he doesn't want to but he feels a bit too shy to do so.

Kenji noticed his friend's uneasiness and retaliated. It was the first time Takanobu spoke so much, he didn't want to make him do things he wasn't ready for.

"Only if you feel like it ! No pressure !"

It was the D-day and Takanobu was stressed. Standing in front of your door he waited. What if he knocked when you were busy ?

His phone buzzed, a text from Kenji wishing him luck. And reminding him to talk more.

That was all he needed to knock at your door.

When you opened the door his breath was taken aback. Like a blow to his stomach. You looked so good. Your hair, clothes, face, everything screamed handsome. But he remained put, close to no emotion showing on his face.

He complimented you, stuttering a bit on his words, feeling shy again to say such things. But at the same time it felt right to say them.

The silence was comfortable on your way to the cat café, humming contently as you both walked in the same direction.

Takanobu felt a bit out of place with all these cats. So he focused on his drink while all the nearby cats seemed to take a liking in him, making you laugh.

You both took pictures to remember this day, and because he looked damn adorable with all these cats around him.

Although you tried to pay, Takanobu got the last word and paid for the both of you. So you promised that next time you would be the one to pay.

Next time… he liked your thinking.

You walked to a park, and sat under a tree, but unlike Kenji suggested, Takanobu did not feed you, feeling too awkward to do so.

You stayed like this for a moment, enjoying each other's presence while you ate together.

The air was warm and the shadow provided by the tree was gladly welcomed.

After an hour Takanobu asked you if you wanted to play volleyball and you agreed, both eager to play together.

You walked to the gymnase quietly, still content with each other until you regrouped with his teammates.

During the game he was reminded of why he fell for you, the way you run across the court, determination pooling out of you with each step you took, wanting nothing more than to have a good game and win. You looked so beautiful like this he had to tell you.

"You looked really good, [Name]" he said, as calmly as ever as if stating a fact.

When it was time, Takanobu accompanied you back home, walking quietly once again with you. He wondered if his quiet personality was a let down for you but seeing your happy face all through the day made him realize you didn't care about it. Liking him for who he is and enjoying his calm nature.

Once at your door, he thanked you for the day and left.

He did not say he loved you but he now felt ready to, knowing for your next date he would tell you how he feels.

Walking to his home, he grabbed his phone and texted Kenji a thumbs-up.

ʚ 𝐊𝐄𝐍𝐌𝐀 𝐊𝐎𝐙𝐔𝐌𝐄 ɞ this was something usual for both if you; after some gaming & chill dates, you shared a minecraft world so u could play together 😌. well, the thing it's that for these past hour he asked you to not enter in the world yet while he was clicking his mouse in a somewhat aggressive way. after some (long) minutes, kenma gave you green light to turn on your computer. when the world has fully loaded you were amazed; it looked like a little and vibrating paradise full of life, your houses were decorated with new aesthetic items and he built a personal zoo beside them. his skin was wearing a white suit and beside him was a sign asking "will you marry me?" 💞🤧.

ʚ 𝐔𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐉𝐈𝐌𝐀 𝐖𝐀𝐊𝐀𝐓𝐎𝐒𝐇𝐈 ɞ it was weekend, so toshi and you were free that day. ushijima may be someone people would describe add dense, but in that moment he noticed you being a little stressed. he thought that if you both had nothing to do ans his angel was feeling down, he should do something to help u ☹️ so he planned a spa at home night. toshi prepared a bath for you two and helped u dry your hair. after that he applied oils ans creams all over you while massaging you're back, shoulders and legs (baby was so gentle 😭). when you both got to bed he hoped you were feeling better, kissing your lips lightly and holding u on his big and warm arms 💗✨.
