Hey guys!!! Welcome to the first ever Comfortember!! Yes, whump is nice buuuuut comfort tends to kinda get glossed over and imo, the comfort afterwards is the best part of the whump.

I ALWAYS LOVE THIS QUESTION!! But it’s also always SOO hard, because I have SO many fics that I ADORE! <3 <3 <3

Okay okay. Since you’re asking for ultimate favorites, but since you’re also in a sense kind of asking for recommendations, I’ll do you a solid and give you a list of fifteen (which is really doing myself a solid because it means there are fewer that I have to narrow down).

That said, if you really want my full list, go to my AO3 account and check out my bookmarks (and some of my works, if you’re interested!). Because there truly are a LOT of AMAZING writers out there. <3 <3

Alright. Here goes nothing.

Also, I am SO sorry this took me so long, but it took me forever to narrow down to fifteen, and even with THAT, I cheated. XD

Also also, fair warning, 95% of these are Tony and Peter centric. <3

Also also also (lots of also’s, oops XD), I’m gonna give a little bit of info on each one for anyone interested, but PLEASE, read all tags and warnings before you actually start reading, because some of these are a little rougher than others. (Btw, when I say “major warnings”, I’m referring to AO3′s “major archive warnings” list.)

1. More Ancient Than Magic by @ironfamjam

This is a mini Hogwarts AU that I absolutely ADORE and think about at least once a week. The way the author melds the two universes is incredible and so well done, and I quote it all the time. One-shot, IronFam centric, featuring Ned and MJ, with special guest appearances from the other Avengers and Peter’s classmates. No major warnings.

2. Everybody Loves Skip by @baloobird

Okay, Kris is my favorite MCU fanfic author of all time, so you’ll see her on here a couple of times. This is by far my favorite story of hers, and it’s what made me fall in love with Interwebs. <3 <3 Multichapter, Peter centric, featuring Ace!Peter and Interwebs, with special guest appearances from Tony, May, and Tracy Leeds. Minor sexual harassment/non-con, but it doesn’t get too graphic.

3. Ohana by @jen27ny

I read this story as a part of last year’s Irondad Big Bang, and let me tell you, I was SOOO invested. I got to the point where I had to send in play by play reactions because I was so emotionally invested. The story is so well told. <3 Multichapter, Tony and Peter centric, featuring Pepperony, Spideychelle, and minor Stucky, with special guest appearances from the rest of the Avengers, HYDRA, and my fast beating heart. No major warnings.

4. Come, My Darling, Homeward Bound by @i-am-irondad

ANOTHER Irondad Big Bang 2020 story that I became OVERLY invested in to the point that I had to send play by plays in to the author. It’s a Room AU, and she NAILS each and every one of the character dynamics. I never even saw Room, and I loved it. <3 Multichapter, Tony, Peter, and Morgan centric, featuring the rest of IronFam, Spideychelle, and adorable sibling moments, with special guest appearances from Quentin Beck and my tears. Minor implied sexual harassment/non-con. (She also has a prequel and a sequel, just so you know.)

5. The Lightning Strike by @booksxtvxsupernatural

Yet ANOTHER Irondad Big Bang 2020 story that hit me right in the feels. This is a canon-divergent post-Infinity War fic, and the way the author shows how events could’ve transpired is so realistic and beautiful. <3 One-shot, Tony and Peter centric, featuring Harley Keener and Nebula, with special guest appearances from IronFam, May Parker, and several other Avengers.

6. Family Doesn’t End with Blood by @baloobird

This is a series of one-shots by my girl Kris based off of the Irondad Bingo prompts, so there are a lot of different prompts and themes, but they ALL rock. Multichapter, Tony and Peter centric, featuring Ace!Peter, IronFam, and Interwebs, with special guest appearances from several other MCU characters. Warnings vary, so pay attention to the tags and read the notes.

7. I love you more than anything (bio dad AU) by @iron--spider

Okay, so maybe this is cheating, because it’s technically a series, but every fic in it is so good that I couldn’t possibly pick just one. I just love the whole series, because I love how the author builds their relationship. It’s so cute. <3 Series of one shots, Tony and Peter centric, featuring the rest of the Stark and Parker family and baby Peter, with special guest appearances from Obadiah Stane, James Rhodes, and Happy Hogan. No major warnings.

8. sometimes, people just die (and sometimes, they don’t) by @snarky-drabbles

This one was for the 2019 Irondad Secret Santa (huh. No wonder so many of them are Tony and Peter centric. XD), and it’s an amazing time loop story that takes place during Endgame and has an ending you might not expect, but it ROCKS. One-shot, Tony and Peter centric from Peter’s POV, featuring Pepper Potts and Stephen Strange, with special guest appearances from a whole lot of fighting. XD

9. A Rite of Passage by @baloobird

Another ADORABLE Interwebs from my favorite person, because she made me obsessed with this ship and now I can’t stop. XD One-shot, Interwebs centric (wait, did I actually find one that isn’t Tony and Peter??), featuring Ace!Peter and Bi!Ned, with special guest appearances from Brad Davis, Flash Thompson, and Betty Brant. Minor sexual harassment/non-con, but nothing graphic at all.

10. Where Dreams are Nightmares in Disguise by @baloobird

This one was actually written for me, by Kris, so obviously, it made this list. I seriously cannot thank her enough for writing this amazing fic for me based on my prompt, and for writing it so well! I LOVED IT! <3 One-shot, Tony, Peter, and Morgan centric, featuring Pepper Potts and lots of LEGOS, with a special guest appearance from a really bad dude. No major warnings.

11. harm and foul by @iron--spider

You know, there’s a lot of Tony protecting Peter out there, but sometimes, I just really wanna see Peter protecting Tony, and this is a GREAT example of that. One-shot, Tony and Peter centric, featuring IronFam, Ned Leeds, and bada** mofo Peter Parker, with special guest appearances from Justin Hammer and a few Avengers. No major warnings.

12. Sugar, Butter, Flour by @doctornineandthreequarters

Another one written for me, this time by the incredible Jaime for the 2019 Irondad Secret Santa, and I couldn’t have asked for anything better. She took my prompts to heart and created some BEAUTIFUL sibling bonding and I LOVE it!! <3 <3 One-shot, Peter, Harley, and Morgan centric (whoa. Another one without Tony. See? I have variety! ...kind of. XD), featuring Pepperony and adorable sibling love, with a special guest appearance from a Karen. No major warnings.

13. Bite the Bullet by @baloobird

In case you haven’t figured it out, yet, I love you, Kris. XD <3 Another amazing ace story that gets me feeling all kinds of validated and loved. <3 One-shot, Tony and Peter centric, featuring Spideychelle, Ace!Peter, and Ace!Tony, with a special guest appearance from BFF Ned and lots of lovely ace acceptance. No major warnings.

14. what is stronger than the human heart which shatters over and over and still lives by @lyssismagical

So, I started reading her works solely through Tumblr, and when I finally realized that she had an AO3, I went on there and bookmarked a TON of her stories immediately. This is one of her more recent ones, but it’s one of my faves, even with all the whump (being Whumptober and all). It has a positive ending, I promise. One-shot, Tony and Peter centric, featuring amazing BFF Michelle Jones, protective Peter Parker, and adorable little sister Morgan Stark, with special guest appearances from Pepper Potts, May Parker, and a lot of family love and support. Rape/non-con, but it isn’t super graphic.

15. Peaches by @peterparkrr

This was yet another Irondad Secret Santa 2019 fic, and while this one wasn’t written specifically for me, I freaking loved it. There’s so much tension and mystery in this, and I seriously thought I was gonna pass out reading it from all of my worry. But, luckily, it has a happy ending. One-shot, Tony and Peter centric, featuring canon divergence and lots of references to other Avengers, with a special guest appearance from a terrible government. No major warnings.

And there’s my top 15! But, because I said I was cheating, here are two bonus fics that cannot be found on AO3. I know you prefer AO3, but trust me when I say you cannot pass these up.

1. This fic by @loubuttons

This was posted directly to Tumblr, but I have it saved in screenshots on my phone and I re-blog it all the time because I absolutely ADORE it. I will always be down for Peter and Morgan fics, especially when Tony is involved, and this one touches my heart like no other. One-shot, Tony, Peter, and Morgan centric, featuring protective big bro Peter Parker and Tony being an amazing parent, with special guest appearances from equally awesome Pepper Potts and May Parker. No major warnings.

2. He’s My Intern? by losingmymindtonight (if they have a Tumblr, I don’t know it, so if anyone knows it, please find them and tell them they’re awesome)

This one was posted on FF.net, and it was actually one of the first Tony and Peter stories I ever read, and it BLEW me away. This one is another series of one-shots, but each one is filled with soft Tony and Peter moments and I love it. Multichapter, Tony and Peter centric, featuring Happy Hogan, Bruce Banner, F.R.I.D.A.Y., and all the hurt/comfort you could possibly want, with special guest appearances from Pepper Potts, May Parker, Ned Leeds, and several other Avengers. No major warnings.

Okaaaaay. I think that’s it??

Wow. That took me FOREVER.

And I’m not even sorry, because all of these authors deserve ALL of the credit I gave them.

He was always moving, talking, just living, so when the lightness that his loved ones were so accustomed to seeing started fading, it scared them. A still silence built itself around Peter, snuffing out his usual exuberant voice. Dark and stifling. Those around him could only hope it wouldn't consume him. That it wouldn't take his smile.

Five times that someone see's Peter struggling and one time he calls for help.

Review: This story really shows how sometimes the best way to help someone who's depressed or just having a bad day is to do something small to make things a little easier for them. You often can't get rid of all their worries through a deep heart-to-heart and you certainly can protect them from everything yourself, but doing something small can make a bigger difference than you think

Summary: Peter, who already downplays every injury, takes the hint too close and hides a serious injury, and the Avengers learn the hard way why Tony really fusses every time he got hurt

Review: Peter hiding his injuries is one of my favorite tropes, and this story did it really well! I love how protective everyone was of Peter by the end, and how they realized Tony wasn't exaggerating when he said they had to make absolutely sure Peter was fine haha

Review: This story was so sweet! I myself have ADHD so I love stories about Peter with ADHD and this one was great! I relate to Peter in that I sucked at Spanish, I've always dreaded going to that class haha. Very nice story!

“My Own ‘Spidey Sense’ Was Tingling” by @baloobird (Pt. 2 of The New Normal)

Summary: It has been a year since Peter Parker was diagnosed with Pediatric Multiple Sclerosis and he—like everyone with this disease—has to get an MRI scan done every year so the doctors can monitor his condition.

The scan itself is tedious but he’s used to it, it’s not his first one by any means. Peter knows what to expect, how loud it’ll be, how long it takes.

But this is the first scan where he’ll be completely by himself.

(Might be best to read the first story before this one)

Review: Another great story about MS by @baloobird! This story was really well written, and I liked how Peter's anxiety over the MRI scan was shown and described, and I loved seeing Peter's thoughts about everything that happened! Very sweet story :D

Jingle Bells was playing quietly in the background, and each one of them was working on decorating a clear plastic christmas bauble, a growing pile of colorful ornaments in the center of the table.

hi hi hon! :D I absolutely adore your writing and was wondering if you could write a fic where Peter and Tony are cooking together in Stark Cabin (maybe cookies or something) and Peter burns himself (not too badly) and Tony goes into Over-Protective!DadMode and is immediately making sure his son's okay and Peter just wants to eat the cookies (but secretly loves the attention)?? and maybe include all the cute nicknames because they literally make me melt ahh THANK YOU SO MUCH DUDE I LOVE YOU :D

It was a very rare occasion that Pepper allowed Tony into the kitchen, more or less both Tony and Peter.

In fact, she hadn’t condoned their current inhabitance. Pepper was out shopping with Morgan and May, insisting she needed a girl’s day away from all the testosterone and nonsensical blabbering Peter and Tony engaged in. For as brilliant as Pepper Stark was, she had no hope keeping up with her boys once they’d fully slipped into techno-babble.

She was, of course, delighted Peter was even back for Tony to engage in such conversations with. Peter had asked, one night, haunted by ghosts around the corner, and she reassured him she was beyond happy he was back. It was just hard to sit through hours of conversation she didn’t understand without some reprieve.

Which, okay, Peter gets that. He had a hard time sitting through when she came back from work and listening to her drone on about business and politics and all that nonsense.

Pepper had laughed when he fell asleep once on her talking about her day, and said, fondly, “You really are just like your father.”

Most of the time, Peter was delighted she thought he was like Tony. Sometimes he could do without being quite so similar.

Example number one: neither of them could cook. Or bake, for that matter.

Peter liked to think he was, at least, a little better than Tony. He’d said as much when they decided to make cookies, and Tony laughed louder than he ever used to, and gestured to all the ingredients and said, “Have at it then, kid. Impress me.” And, well, Peter supposed he had to try his damnedest to impress Tony.

Everything was going fine up until the cookies had to be taken out of the oven. Tony even seemed marginally impressed by how evenly Peter had scooped the cookie dough across the tray, so Peter was feeling pretty successful.

And, like all the great heroes, his hubris was his downfall.

To take the cookies out of the oven, Peter had slid on an oven mit. One, singular, on his right hand because, come on, he was Spider-Man. A cookie tray weighed less than a feather as opposed to the stuff he lifted on a daily basis. Tony was talking about his thoughts for the next upgrade to Peter’s suit as Peter swung open the oven door.

A wave of heat greeted him. Peter squinted his eyes to lessen the sting. He reached in with his gloved hand, and grabbed the tray a little too far to the right. Unthinkingly, Peter reached out with his other hand to steady the tray as he pulled it out. Tony gasped, “No!” a split second before Peter’s fingers touched the scalding cookie tray.

The pain was instantaneous. Peter shrieked, jerking his hand away. Tears burst into his eyes faster than he could blink. He barely held onto the tray long enough with his gloved hand to save the cookies on the stove top before he ripped off his glove and pushed his uninjured fingers against the burned skin.

Tony was there instantly, shutting the oven door and cradling Peter’s hands in both of his. Worn thumbs traced over Peter’s wrist, trying to soothe away the pain by a simple caress.

“Oh, baby, baby, baby,” Tony crooned. Peter’s eyes dripped pained tears, splashing against his palms. “Oh, honey, you poor thing. I should’ve told you to get the other mit. My poor baby.”

“I saved the cookies though,” Peter warbled. His voice trembled and tripped, mind too focused on the agonizing throb in his fingers to speak steadily.

Peter had been through a million and one different pains. Bruises, fractures, broken bones, the weight of a warehouse bearing down on his back as he tried to hold up the world, tumbling to a fiery stop from the outside of a plane, and the unrelenting push of a train as it barreled into him. There was more pain to come, more battles to face; it was an inevitability. There would be no time to cry. But there, in the Stark Cabin, surrounded by memories of family and love, this pain was allowed to be felt and suffered.

Peter had time to cry.

Tony smiled at Peter’s small, mostly unsuccessful attempt at levity. It was worried, and small, but it was a smile. He leaned forward to kiss Peter’s forehead, then urged him over to the sink.

“You did, thank you, baby,” he said. “Now we’re just gonna run some cool water over your fingers for a little bit, okay? Until it starts to feel better. Then we’re gonna wrap it up nice and tight to let it heal.”

Peter nodded. The water seemed more threatening than the burn, but Tony guided his hands toward the stream with gentle but insistent tugs. The cool water stung for a moment before his shoulders relaxed. Peter still sniffled, but the liquid was slowly drawing the pain up and out of his sunset-colored fingers.

“There we go.” Tony pressed another kiss just above Peter’s ear. “Stay here, piccolo, I’ll be right back with the first aid kid, okay?”

As promised, Tony was back in less than a minute. Once the pain had abated enough for Peter to pull his fingers out from under the stream without wanting to cry again, Tony soothed aloe over the burns and wrapped each finger up individually with precise, careful motions; the type of mindfulness he reserved for when Morgan took a tumble, or Peter came home with more broken bones than unbroken.

When Peter’s pinky was fully wrapped, Tony lifted Peter’s hand and pressed a kiss to the bandages. Childishly, Peter felt a little better. (Kisses were magic, after all. Morgan thought so; Peter, in moments like these, was inclined to agree.)

“There,” Tony said. Peter sniffled as his dad brushed a stray curl back over his ear. “Don’t hurt my baby. Be careful with him, okay?”

They wound up eating the cookies (which were actually delicious), bundled up in blankets on the couch, watching old Disney movies. When the girls returned, Pepper scolded them for making a mess and not being more careful while May clucked over his bandaged fingers. Morgan insisted they all kiss Peter’s injury to make him feel better.

Tony ended up hogging all the kisses, sending Morgan superior smiles. Peter’s stomach ached with joyous laughter as Morgan cried and pouted for a chance to kiss his bandages goodbye the way Peter always did for her. They offered her a cookie in apology, and the chance to pick whatever movie she wanted to watch.

Even if Peter would rather not be watching My Little Pony or Barbie movies, there was nothing in the world he’d give up this for.

Happy Fanfic Writer Friday!! (Sorry I’m getting to these kind of late in the day!)

I do! But honestly, it depends on the fandom, because I have a different person for each idea lol.

For MCU stories, I tend to talk a lot to my girl @baloobird and also my bestie Grace. Kris is really nice to talk to when I’m starting a new idea that I’m really excited about, because she’s always really excited and enthusiastic and supportive of what I’m doing. <3 <3 Grace is especially good for when I’m struggling with what to do next, because she’s really good at letting me bounce ideas off of her and helping me figure out how I want to say things.

For SPN stories, I babble to my mom and get her advice, because she and I watch the show together and talk about it all the time, so she knows my thought process a little bit and is able to help me figure out what I’m trying to say and also what would sound good based on her own opinions.

For Stranger Things, I share all of my ideas with my stepmom, because we’re both really into the show and talk about it a lot, so I’m able to bounce ideas off of her, and she shares my excitement when it comes to things I’m writing.

For any other random stories, it kind of depends on the story/fandom. In general, I get really excited about what I’m writing, so if I can find someone to talk about it with or read it over and tell me what they think, I will.

Temporary Tumblr Hiatus

Hey guys, I hope everyone is doing well 💜💜💜

This hiatus is temporary but that being said, I don’t know how long this will last.

For the latter part of this year, tumblr just hasn’t been as much fun for me as it used to be. I haven’t been online as much except to occasionally lurk but even then I haven’t put forth much effort to talk to people or even respond to messages (and to my mutuals, I am so so sorry 🙃). I was barely even here for @comfortember which I feel horrible for but the fact that I’m still not in the mood to be back online fully showed me that I need a break from tumblr.

I’m planning to delete the app from my phone so my access will be limited. I do have a Discord (same username and my number is 8151) so if you want to reach out, please do! I will continue writing, my love for that hasn’t dwindled (I may or may not be working on an Irondad Christmas fic 😉) but I will only be posting that on my AO3, so I hope you’ll follow me over there (but I completely understand if you don’t).

I love you guys!! Thank you so much for following me despite my absence, I promise this isn’t forever. I hope everyone has a good holiday and an amazing New Year!!!! 💜💜💜

It is Peter and Ned’s one-year anniversary and Ned cannot be more excited.

It’s hard to believe that a year ago today, Peter walked up to him after school and asked his best friend out on a date, hard to believe that this guy Ned has been in love with for years actually likes him back.

hihihi this is kylee peeking out of my unintentional hiatus hole to bring you this au that no one asked for but that i might start writing soon anyway... this is gonna be a six-parter so uhhh sorry in advance for the inbox spam but also kind of not sorry

i watched Ever After last night (the Drew Barrymore movie, y'know) and now my brain is filled with that "but make it IRON DAD" worm. you know the one. so instead of a prince and a girl falling in love. king tony meets this too-noble-for-his-own-good lil ten year old one day and this kid can charm the pants off a slug so of course (1/6)

tony adores him instantly but peter would get in SO much trouble with his stepfamily (not ben and may bc i could literally never bring myself to make them the bad guys) if they found out he'd snuck out of the house (and they'd be even more mad if they knew he'd met -and charmed- the king) so he makes up a fake name so tony has a harder time tracking him down later (2/6)

PETER CALLS HIMSELF BEN RICHARDS OMG (or ben fitzpatrick bc it sounds more period-appropriate idk) he uses "ben" as his fake name and it's not even totally a lie bc it's his *middle* name (but he still feels guilty af about lying bc he's baby bean) (3/6)

anyway im kinda still hammering out the details bc my sleep schedule is wacked out and my brain is fried but basically it ends with peter getting ratted out by his mean relatives and peter's ready to run away and never come back bc he's so embarrassed and guilty and doesn't think tony will ever want to talk to him again but OBVIOUSLY tony loves this little squirt so he jumps on a horse and goes to find peter (4/6)

when he gets to peter's house he's told that peter actually DID run away (and the family accuses him of being a thief for good measure) but tony is like "yeah uh huh i'm comin for u next but i need to go find my kid rn f u" and he rides all around the kingdom looking for his lil buddy and then it occurs to him to look in the "secret hiding place" peter told him about and showed him once (5/6)

and then there's a big happy reunion scene with lots of crying and tony brings peter home and adopts him so now he's a happy lil prince with an adoring dad and they live HAPPILY EVER AFTER (6/6)

Hi! I'm doing a project for school on MS and I wanted to know if there's any websites or anything that I can get good info from? I'm not really sure where to start looking!

That’s great question, good luck with your project and thank you for asking me!!

The first site I thought of is National Multiple Sclerosis Society, my doctor told me about it right after I was diagnosed. It’s a great one-stop shop where you learn what the disease is, what the different medications are, the symptoms, living with the disease, and facts about Pediatric Multiple Sclerosis. This site alone should help you a lot.

Mayo Clinic is gives you a more condensed version of the previous link but it could be helpful if you’re looking for quick facts.

WebMD is similar to Mayo Clinic but I found this link that goes into more detail about living with it such as flare-ups, stress, and affecting mental health.
