Cognitive Techniques To Change Your Thoughts ✨✨
Cognitive techniques are strategies used in cognitive therapy to help you identify and change negative thoughts and beliefs. These techniques should be practiced regularly so that they become habits.
Cognitive Restructuring: This involves identifying and challenging negative or irrational thoughts and replacing them with more positive or rational beliefs.
Thought Stopping: When you notice a negative thought entering your mind, you can mentally shout "Stop!" This interrupts the thought process and gives you a chance to replace the negative thought with a positive one.
Mindfulness and Meditation: These practices help you become more aware of your thoughts and feelings in the present moment. When you observe your thoughts without judgment, you gain insight into negative patterns and choose to let them go.
Journaling: Writing down your thoughts can help you process and analyze them. With time you can identify patterns and work on changing negative thought cycles.
Positive Affirmations: Repeating positive statements can help counteract negative self talk and reinforce positive beliefs about yourself.
Evidence Collection: When faced with a negative belief, ask yourself, "What evidence do I have that supports or refutes this thought?" This can help you see things in a more balanced way.
Decatastrophizing: If you tend to imagine the worst scenario, ask yourself how likely it is to happen and what other possible outcomes there might be. This can help you view situations more realistically.
Labeling: Instead of saying "I am a failure," label the thought as "a negative thought about my abilities."
Distraction: Engaging in an activity or hobby can divert your attention from negative thoughts and give your mind a break.
Scheduling Worry Time: Instead of ruminating on worries throughout the day, set aside a specific time to process them. This can prevent constant worry and allow you to focus on other tasks.
Challenging Cognitive Distortions: Recognize and challenge cognitive distortions like black-and-white thinking, overgeneralization, and personalization.
Visual Imagery: Visualize a place or situation where you feel calm and happy. This can help shift your focus from negative thoughts.
These are very simple descriptions and examples of cognitive techniques. I listed the ones we can put into practice on our own. There are more in depth methods and practices used by doctors on different fields of study and practice. I can list, as well as add upon the information listed here.

Summary of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey. This book has had a profound impact on my life, and I hope it can help you too.
The 7 Habits are:🧵
Habit 1: Be Proactive
Don't be reactive to circumstances. Take responsibility for your life and the choices you make.
Focus on the things you can control, and let go of the things you can't.
Be proactive in your relationships and interactions with others.
Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind
Have a clear vision for your life and what you want to achieve.
Break down your vision into smaller goals and steps.
Live each day in alignment with your vision.
Habit 3: Put First Things First
Distinguish between what is urgent and what is important.
Focus your time and energy on the things that are most important.
Learn to say no to things that are not a priority.
Habit 4: Think Win-Win
Look for ways to create mutually beneficial outcomes in your relationships and interactions.
Be willing to compromise and give and take.
Focus on the interests of others, not just your own.
Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood
Listen with the intent to understand, not just to reply.
Put yourself in the other person's shoes.
Be open to learning from others.
Habit 6: Synergize
Work together with others to create something greater than what you could achieve alone.
Appreciate the unique contributions of others.
Be open to new ideas and perspectives.
Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw
Take care of yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Invest in your personal growth and development.
Be a lifelong learner.
I hope you found it helpful and inspiring.
Follow @everythingaboutbiotech for more inspiring stuff.
Remember, the 7 Habits are not a magic bullet. They take time and effort to implement, but they can be incredibly powerful tools for personal and professional growth.

i think i officially set my sights on a therapist and i'll be contacting her very soon?? therapy was legitimately not on my 2024 bingo card (or in the cards for me at all) but here we are????
#this blog always had a focus on social science and detangling feelings and experiences. like it's basically been serving as my diary#bc this blog has always been my main outlet for it. i hate talking feelings to anyone irl. it's a bad habit but i hate it#so it was a game changer and helped me grow up sooo much. esp supplemented w other people's experiences.#being raised by a stoic engineer mother who's very much warm but also not very good at feelings at times has caused me to suppress SO much#compounded w being the eldest daughter. like that is a damning sentence in and of itself#tumblr just gave me an outlet for stuff like this. and every social media is essentially a highlight reel of ppl's best moments.#tumblr is the opposite. i've always loved that too whether it was in the form of humor or more earnest posts#could i work through my own issues by myself? yes probably#and my blog will always have that facet even if i get a therapist#but a therapist's input. just a professional's input. will expedite a lot of improvement for me i think#this has been a critical time period for me anyway bc i'm budgeting my whole schedule for once vs being handheld by uni deadlines#and it's just gonna keep getting more and more intense from here bc i'm truly pushing my comfort zone more than ever before#it just feels like the right call even tho i'm lowkey nervous ab it bc i HATE talking feelings in person.#this therapist will not fall for my trying to deflect by asking her about her life. which. usually works on my friends <3#we will see. a therapy arc is coming very soon basically#p

Day 6 — 10/ 100 Days of Code
✧˖° ♡ This week' progress
I think I finally built a steady studying routine - over the past few days, I managed to wake up every day at 6 a.m. and take the first hour to work on coding.
My focus was on exploring CSS transition and keyframe animations.
I discovered that the secret to
✧˖ cool CSS animation ˖✧
is the right manipulation of transition-duration, delay, and timing-function.
I also learned how to transform elements in 2D and 3D space by using a set of CSS properties ( rotate, skew, scale, transform-origin ), and setting the perspective.
As a strong believer of the theory "learn through doing", I based my study plan on 20% theory, 80% experimenting with css and creating silly animations

The Last to Leave
AU where Oro joins Tsunade in leaving Konoha post the 2nd Shinobi war, rather than getting with Danzo and terrible experiments and such. More info under the cut
I was partially inspired by this wonderful Tsunade centric fic, and thought about how Tsunade, even in grief, channeled it into something productive. In this case, I thoroughly enjoy the idea of her creating a whole new system/organisation that prioritises saving lives/improving wellbeing. And the only way to do that is to leave the system of militaristic shinobi villages.
In this au, Oro decides to join her as head researcher, and the two go on to set up their own ways of doing things I guess???? Idk. But yeah, it kinda kills my soul to think about how the Sannin, if banded together and away from Konoha, could cause a paradigm shift in the Shinobi world, with Tsunade at the helm rejecting the shinobi way of life.
Jiraiya isn’t here because.. it kinda sucks that it’s canon??? That Dan dies sometime after he decides to stay in Ame. sdlkjfgsd. The trio is all toxic, but I think this AU’s tsuna is less so and her and oro keep each other in check.

Hey guys, I know its been like 2 and half weeks since I've been active on here and sorey about that. I'll explain everything later but, I felt like this is too important not to share.
Did you guys know the IRS has a site for students with learning modules and assessments design to teach you the basics of understanding/filing taxes?
I don't know how good it is but I plan on going through EVERYTHING today so I'll let you know. As someone without really a foundational understanding of how taxes work, this feels like a good resource to share.
Designed for students but it doesn't seem like there's anything stopping ANYONE from just going on here and learning. It look approachable and easy to understand, with links to explain tax jargon and 14 learning modules.
Is it weird to be excited about this? I am genuinely happy to have found this tbh- here I was prepared for a day of slogging through different websites explaining complicated financial terms and this is just here.
I really hope you guys take a look, because I am kind of amazed this just exists in the world and I- at 24 have never come across it or heard any of those dumb financial gurus talk about this.
https://apps.irs.gov/app/understandingTaxes/student/
Let me know if the link doesn't work, and please please pass this knowledge along. I feel like I've stumbled on a goldmine here.

Day 19 — 21/ 100 Days of Code
✧˖° ♡ progress update
I started the JS Functions chapter, and things are getting so much more interesting. I thought by now I would have finished all the simple function exercises that I found on W3Resources, but it seems I still have much work to do to improve my problem-solving skills.
I always try to find the answer on my own and check the solution only after I hit a wall. My approach is to start by:
Defining the task that I want to achieve.
Making a flowchart and designing the steps that the computer will perform.
And lastly, coding each step.
Even though sometimes the process can be tedious, the feeling you get after you  press enter and it runs with no issues is surreal. Is this how you all have been feeling when coding ( ⸝⸝´꒳`⸝⸝)
