A co-worker of mine was standing outside with me during a break from customers to share a cigarette with me, and told me about how he had lost his brother that he was close with some years ago. He told me about how they used to be in a band together with some friends, and how ever since he'd died, he hadn't played any music because he'd been too scared and anxious. I told him about how I'd lost my brother to suicide some years ago.

I went home and pulled out an old tiny wooden box my brother had given me before he'd died. I'd been using it to store guitar picks I'd collected over the years, including one guitar pick that used to be his. I haven't played the guitar since he'd died, my hands are too small to play some of the chords, so I play bass and piano instead.

I went to work the next day and gifted my brothers old guitar pick to my co-worker. I told him that it'd been sitting in a box for ten years unused, and would probably sit there for longer if I kept it there. Told him that I thought he deserved to have it, because I bet he could put it to better use than I ever would. Told him I didn't feel like it was coincidence that me and him would cross paths with each other in our lives, and that it seemed suiting that we had these similar experiences but split in two halves. That somehow, I felt like he was meant to have the guitar pick. I told him that I knew he'd not played guitar since his brother died, but that if he ever decided to play again one of these days, maybe he'd be able to honor both of our brothers by using that guitar pick.

He almost cried. He thanked me. Then he went home that night and for the first time in years he played the guitar.

I don't know what the meaning of life is or what my purpose is, but I do believe that love and human connection is one of the most important things in life. It's finding ways to tell strangers you love them and share experiences with others. I think it's all just about love.

The Paths of Life Legacy - Gen A

"A" ... like adventurous

At the beginning of a long journey, Yannik Potts rented a small trailer in the small town of Strangerville. Rather, he got stuck here because his car broke down before the end of the first section to travel. But he hoped for at least a quiet time. Peace and contemplation. He had been struggling with a creative block for a long time now, hence the trip. All the paintings he made were just rubbish. Only a change of scenery could help. No parties. No affairs. Just rest and creative self-discovery. Different cultures, landscapes and new people.

As soon as he set foot in his new, temporary home, there was a knock on the door. Unsuspectingly, he opened it in the hope that he would get the first social contact with the curious neighbors – in a small town this was unavoidable – over with as quickly as possible. Before him stood a blond, petite curly head. Feminine, somehow pastel. Whether she was pretty - not that it mattered to him - he couldn't tell. She had twisted her face into a strange grimace. Behind her were three more women. Everyone was drooling and talking incoherently. "T..T…T… Taste the fruit!" Yannik jumped back, startled. An opportunity that the ladies did not want to miss. They staggered into his room, tearing down what few decorative items the home had to offer, and standing in the room with a strange stoop. Yannik wondered if he should call the police. Maybe the ambulance? Anyone? Before he could figure out who could best help him with his problem, the ladies disappeared again. But he didn't have time to catch his breath. Men and women in black entered his property, collected strange purple fruits from everywhere, threw a note at his feet, stole his fridge, told him that nothing had happened and disappeared again. At least his first visit had brought him cake. He had almost forgotten about it and since he had nothing else in the house he really didn't have a choice. With his stomach rumbling after all the hustle and bustle, he ate a bite. Another mistake that day.

But Yannik didn't want to end his first day in a new place in such a negative way. After all it was his time of self-discovery and peace! There must still be sensible people in this wasteland. A little further down the street he saw a kiosk. The people who worked there always knew more about a place. When he checked in at the store, he saw something medium-sized, red-haired, a bit gaunt, with a metal hat on his head. When Yannik greeted him, although he had to weigh things up a bit, he jumped to the side in shock and yelled: "No, you can't get me!" After a short moment he caught himself: "Excuse me, I'm Erwin. I'm sorry.” He leaned forward and whispered very softly: “They're over everyone. You know. You have to be careful!” Then he assumed a normal posture again and smiled brightly at Yannik. "Do you want to buy something?" Yannik tried to keep his composure and even managed to exchange a few nice sentences with the guy. So that the situation wasn't that unpleasant, he quickly bought a lava lamp, which he definitely didn't need and for which he actually didn't have any money. Something wasn't right here, but since he was planning to flee when he could afford to fix his cars, he probably wouldn't interfere. He wasn't interested in any of that. Actually. But he did feel a certain thrill. And so far he has never been able to resist it.

Drake Siblings

Have I read this prompt somewhere or was this a fever dream from my bored mind.

What if, now hear me out.

What if we bring up Dana Winters-Drake (whose confirmed to at least be alive in the DC verse but no one knows where she actually is)

What if instead of when she had a mental breakdown and getting committed to an Bludhaven clinc she wandered away before anyone noticed and by the time Tim or anyone did notice a lot of stuff started happening at once in both Gotham and Bludhaven (Steph dying, The Bludhaven crisis, etc etc)

Tim still tries to find her though but even with best resources it was like she just disappeared into the wilderness and the stress of trying to handle more and more problems get worse.

So when out of the blue, a couple of years later, he gets a call from an unknown number. On his private, only for friends and family, phone and when he answers he meet with a young girls voice on the other end.

A very young, maybe six or seven, girl who informs him about his apparently half-brother Danny Drake-Fenton. And how she loves Danny so, so, so much but knows her home is dangerous for him to be in.

Tim is stunned and before he could question her, she says Danny is Dana and Jack's baby and that her parents had adopted him years ago and put Dana's stuff that the hospital had away for him to look at when he was older but she just had to fight off their lunch from eating her brother and she knows he needs a better place to live and so she snooped around and found Dana's diary and that she had to unscramble the nonsense Dana wrote and found Tim's number with the words 'tell him about his brother Danny' hidden in it. And-

But before she could keep rambling she hears Danny screaming "JAZZY THE MILK WENT BAD AGAIN AND HISSED AT ME!"

Tim is left with silence after hearing Jazz yell to Danny to lock the fridge and step out of the kitchen as she gets the bat.

I love the fact that everyone being so accepting of everyone else’s task related quirks is coming back to bite them.

Lizzie couldn’t get a single person to accuse her! Not a single one! And Of Course they didn’t, because they’re trying to help. Just below the surface they want to help Lizzie, or at least not hurt her, so of course they wouldn’t call her out and risk causing her problems.

And Jimmy! In his own words “people were so accommodating” to the point no one would kick him out! Everyone respected weird behavior as ‘being a task’ so no one tried to kick him out. They were literally too nice.

And can I just say how genius those tasks Are? The game is literally punishing people for… being too nice, for working together.

These are tasks that are perfectly reminding players “no, you’re enemies, you’re not supposed to be nice” by twisting that kindness against the person they thought they were helping.

When Grian said ‘okay, no more helping people’ the world decided to Mean It.

📧 Scorpio placements love to probe people for information. This is actually something that comes very natural to them and is often an unconscious behavior. Often the Scorpio doesn't even have to do anything. People tend to reveal themselves willingly and unwillingly. This is the nature of Pluto. It naturally uncovers whatever is hidden. Planets in the 8th House can behave this way as well.

Because a theme of the 3rd House includes short distance trips, such as your day-to-day commute, the sign ruling this house often goes hand-in-hand with your work. For instance, I have Leo in the 3H. Leo rules government (source: the rulership book by rex e. bills). I have worked in government for almost 20 yrs.

📧 Mutable Signs/Placements move on their own time. Even if they are punctual, their desire to do things when they want takes priority. It's the nature of scattered energy.

📧 Saturn in the 4th House can indicate karma with the mother or native's family. This placement often requires a lot of obligation to the mother/family . The native feels bound by the obligations and often wishes to escape, but may also feel a sense of duty and embrace their role as the glue in the family. Relationships are all about compromise and communication. If you want different things but refuse to talk about it, you’re far more likely to get stuck in a situation where you’re both unhappy. Be vulnerable with each other, be honest about what you want for yourself, and seek an answer where you’ll both be better off. This won’t always be a desirable process or have an ideal answer, but it is always better to try than automatically give in to the idea that it’s impossible.
