HETEROSEXUAL CIS-PEOPLE LOOK HERE
Tumblr media
Snaps my fingers at you as you scroll past this post
Look at me. Listen.
I'm not the best at serious posts, but that article up there reminded me of how important it is that people like you stand up for us. So hold on while I try to get this out of my mushy end-of-work-day brain.
We could fight this fight ourselves for decades trying to reach the equal laws, gender affirming trans healthcare that doesn't have a 2-5+ soul-eating years of waiting time, medical care with equal knowledge of lgbtqia+ bodies, and, what is often forgotten, inclusion in the little everyday areas of life like our way of speaking or things being set up or designed with the existence of queer people in mind.
But you joining in could get us there so much faster.
The power you have as a hetero cis person is that you set the standard for what is seen as the average way of treating us among other hetero cis people. You have been given the power of deciding what's "normal" and I'm begging you to use it.
Richard Green is a great example of to what extent your actions can help our situation, and smaller ways of support still add up to a great impact on society, and could make the days of the queer people you interact with.
Educate yourself before you speak up, but don't be silent.

Lena losing her patience and furiously berating Gwen for potentially endangering the staff members of the OAIR is quite literally the opposite of how Elias ran the Archives.
Elias used the Archival staff—as well as his Archivist—as pawns that can be readily replaced as needed. His patron offered them minimal protections at best (the Archivist’s privileges notwithstanding), and even then, he would never actually intervene to save any of them if they were in danger, much less take precautions to protect them at their headquarters. They are used as bait, as sacrifices, as currency, as objects. The listener knows, eventually, how easily he could discard them if his plans called for it.
But Lena. This episode showed us that Lena keeps her entire organization running through keeping her subordinates hidden, safe, and unnoticed by the Externals. It’s quite clear through her conversation with Gwen that such a safety risk has never happened before.
As far as we know, Lena has successfully kept all of her employees alive, watched them come and go, bemoaned the turnover rate, and then got them to look the other way while they documented and dutifully filed the horrors.
But most impressive of all, she’s kept her real work hidden from her subordinates, and her subordinates hidden from her real work—a feat Elias had no interest or desire to accomplish.

"Hunt" part 1. My tav Revna and daddy Halsin. Rev is a spore Druid/urchin wood elf (my favorite kind of Druid) they have horns due to spending the last years of their life living in isolation away from civilization, adopting the likeness of goats and cervines in the heart of the forested mountains. Such is their love for these animals they decided to keep the horns and the singularly colored eyes (also, they miss the weight on their head when not wearing them) Decided to make them a genderless beast because, hear me out, a shapeshifter being connected to nature n’ living away from human costumes studying fungal behavior. What would a being like that need a damn gender for? Nothing, the answer is nothing."
Here is my art Instagram, I´m far more active there. And do NOT use/repost my work without consent or credit, dammit.

July was one of those months. It started off really slowly and then just got busier and busier. Which is nice, but I was so glad to have a little vacation last week.
Anyway, here’s what I read this month:
Medley 4.5 ⭐️ {review}
Freestyle 4⭐️ {review}
Drowned Country 4⭐️ {review}
The Nature of the Game 5⭐️ {review}
The Nature of Christmas 4⭐️ {review}
Our Not So Lonely Planet 4⭐️ {review}
The Music of What Happens 4.5 ⭐️ {review}
The Mysterious and Amazing Blue Billings -currently reading
My favorite books this month were The Nature of the Game and Medley. They were both just to good to pick between. My least favorite was Drowned County. I think that was more on me than the book, though.

Stick Side (book 2): The Nature of the Game by Amy Aislin
Six years ago, an ultimatum forced Dan Greyson to make a choice that cost him everything he loved most. One of those things? His boyfriend, hockey player Ashton Yager. Now that they’ve crossed paths again, Dan isn’t about to let the opportunity slip away. Ash’s reappearance in his life is just the catalyst Dan needs to escape the rut he’s fallen into…and win back Ash’s trust and love.
Ashton Yager, once burned and now a little bit shy, didn’t mean to publicly come out as bisexual. But now that he has, he’s got to deal with the consequences, including the fact that it might’ve cost him his NHL contract. With his job on the line, he needs to keep his head down, work hard, and play the best hockey of his life. Rekindling things with Dan? That’s not exactly keeping a low profile. It’s also never going to happen, not after Dan walked away once without an explanation.
When a hurricane forces Ash to seek shelter out-of-state, he and Dan find themselves in the same B&B, where old feelings resurface. But with everything Ash has on the line, does he dare play with fire again?

My Review: 5/5 Stars
Dan gave up everything six years ago. His dream. His brother. And the love of his life. He was backed into a corner and to protect those he loved, he had to let them go and push them away. Then when he learned a few months earlier that all of his sacrifices were for nothing, Dan is ready to make amends. He started with his brother but then he crosses paths with Ash. The love of his life. The one he left without an explanation. All he wants is a second chance but if he can't get that then he wants to at least apologize and explain. But Ash won't listen. And Dan can't exactly blame him. It will take everything he can to make Ash realize that Dan is here to stay. But could it be too late? For Ash, seeing Dan again reminds him of all the heartache he endured. He doesn't want to know the truth. Not anymore. At least, he thinks so. But the more he sees Dan and the bits and pieces of clues that come from Dan and others, Ash begins to wonder if maybe he does need to know what happened. It will take a bit for his heart and head to truly forgive Dan. If he can. These two kept tugging at my heart strings. Learning everything Dan had to sacrifice everything and then it mean absolutely nothing? So rough. And when Ash doesn't want to hear him out, you just wanna shake him to listen! They have a long hard journey ahead of them but you'll want to cheer them on the whole time because these two deserve their happy ending, especially with one another. Loved this story! Can't wait for the next one.
