This had to be a joke.
Not only had you been given the ridiculous assignment of “accompanying” the newest member of the Avengers, the so-called God of Mischief, to Finland. Not only did you know it wasn’t accompaniment, it was actually babysitting, because despite Thor’s intense insistence that his brother be given this chance at redemption, the rest of the team still didn’t quite trust him yet.
Not only were you sure that this mission was just busy work - a way to simultaneously keep Loki distracted, and away from the prying eyes of the American government and media. And not only had this man single handedly usurped your rise from common S.H.I.E.L.D. agent to the next member of the Avengers, because the dungeons on Asgard were just too cruel for the precious Prince…
But now, there was only one bed left in this entire goddamn inn.
The sweet old woman checking you in apologized profusely when she broke the news, and you just stood there, silently fuming and clenching your jaw so hard your teeth would be aching for days. Truthfully, you should have known better - it was only four days before Christmas; how could you forget that it was technically a holiday, and that millions of people around the world would be traveling for leisure right now?
Maybe it was just because you couldn't recall the last time you'd taken a vacation, or the fact that you hadn’t spent a holiday with loved ones in years. Or maybe you’d been cursed somehow - most likely by the man standing next to you, with an infuriatingly charming grin on his face.
“Please don’t worry about it, my dear, we’ve just had quite a long day of traveling,” Loki gently assured the woman, reaching for her hand as she all but cowered in fear at your palpable rage. She seemed to relax as Loki soothed her, and you hated that it was him covering for your negative attitude instead of the other way around. “My fiancé - she’s just a bit old fashioned, and she wants to wait until marriage, you see...”
The woman smiled as if he was describing kittens snuggling together on a cold and rainy evening, and you were this close to absolutely losing your temper; he was already deviating from your mutually agreed upon cover story, that you were simply colleagues traveling to the Muotkatunturi Wilderness Area on a research trip, and he intentionally chose his own cover story to replace it - one that was designed to deliberately piss you off.
You knew Loki could feel the anger radiating off your skin, and he turned towards you with a smile of his own as he continued to act as your doting fiancé. “And I’m determined to make that a reality. I promise, I’ll be fine sleeping on the floor, alright, darling?”
He slipped his arm around your waist and pulled you closer, his emerald eyes shining as he surely relished in your discomfort. You tried to focus on that, on how angry you were at him about everything - instead of his warm embrace, or how inviting his scent was.
“Well, you’re in luck. We’ve got the most comfortable floors in all of Rovaniemi!” the woman laughed as she returned to filling out the guestbook.
It was humiliating, but it seemed as though you had no choice. You let out a heavy exhale, deciding it would be easier to just go along with his story and get this interaction over with as quickly as possible. Your only saving grace was that this was temporary - soon this reconnaissance mission would be over, and sooner or later Loki would ruin the good graces of Tony and Steve and be sent back to the dungeons on Asgard.
But until then, you were going to have to find a way to make him pay for all of this later on.
“There’s my girl. Always the brave little soldier,” he purred softly, leaning down as if he was going to kiss you. Your eyes widened in panic, desperately fighting the urge to push him away and possibly punch him in his handsome face, but Loki caught the hint and quickly looked the other way.
You turned your attention back to the front desk as the woman fiddled with the paperwork, and a group of figurines for sale caught your eye, nestled among the garland and twinkling lights. A wicked grin crept across your face as you nudged Loki’s ribs unplayfully. “Look, dear - they’ve got some Odin statues for sale. Shall we buy some to hand them out with our Christmas gifts this year?”
Loki’s gaze slowly descended into madness, and you cheered silently once you were sure you’d gotten under his skin. His jaw tightened, along with the hand pressed against your ribs, but the woman smiled happily, unaware of just who she was talking to.
“Ah, yes - these make excellent souvenirs!” the woman laughed as she picked up one of the figurines, admiring the wood carving with a loving eye. “Did you know that the myth of Santa Claus is based partially on the myth of Odin - and that it all started right here in Rovaniemi?”
“Oh, I had no idea!” you lied, almost giddy with how much this was going to piss Loki off. “Could you tell me more about that? I find Norse mythology to be just fascinating…Of course, that pesky God of Mischief certainly leaves a lot to be desired, wouldn’t you say?”
She opened her mouth to answer, clearly very pleased that someone was finally so interested in her offerings, but Loki quickly interjected with barely contained rage. “Actually, if you could just focus on retrieving our room key now, I’d really appreciate it.”
“What is the God of Mischief’s name? Loki, or something like that?” you continued with absolute delight, slipping your arm around his waist the way he’d done while teasing you. “Pretty ridiculous name, if you ask me. Thor’s name is so much more elegant…”
“Well, it’s funny you should mention that. The name Loki actually means - ”
“The keys! Now. Please,” Loki snapped as he yanked your arm away, gripping your wrist so hard you were sure it was going to leave a bruise. That was definitely going in your mission report once you’d returned to Stark Tower.
The woman faltered briefly, clearly not expecting the charming man to shift his attitude so abruptly, but she reluctantly obliged and began rummaging around in a drawer for a set of room keys.
“You’ll have to excuse my fiancé, m’am…He just doesn’t believe in all that Norse mythology nonsense, even though I think it’s super interesting…” you smirked as Loki stewed with indignation. “But it’s just this one night that you have to endure the tall tales of Norse mythology, and then we’re off to Inari in the morning…aren’t we, sweetheart?”
The sweet old woman furrowed her brow as she pulled the last set of keys from the drawer and extended them over the counter. “Oh, didn’t you hear about the blizzard arriving tonight? They’re saying it’s the storm of the century. I doubt you two will be going anywhere for a while.”
Loki’s face fell alongside yours, and you both turned to the woman with matching grimaces. “I beg your pardon?”

Your mood quickly soured by the time Loki led the way upstairs to your room; of course there was a blizzard incoming, and of course it would mean you were trapped here longer than anticipated with the most inconsiderate man alive. He took the stairs two at a time, leaving you behind to struggle with your luggage, while his belongings were no doubt stored easily inside that stupid pocket dimension of his.
If just one more thing went wrong on this trip, you feared you might actually lose it - consequences be damned.
By the time you made it down the hallway to the door of your room, Loki was casually leaning against the wall with his arms folded across his chest and a brooding expression on his face. If you didn’t hate him so much, it would have been a beautiful sight to behold.
“Hey, thanks for offering to help,” you called out sarcastically as you made your way over to him. “I’m absolutely shocked by how thoughtful and courteous you are.”
Loki scoffed and pushed himself off the wall as he pulled the key out of his pocket. “I could have just gone inside and left you wondering which door was ours. You should be grateful I didn’t.”
“Aww, is someone a little mad that I made him think about Odin?” you taunted, enjoying the way he tensed up again at the sound of his father’s name.
“No, it was just foolish. Do not make that mistake again…”
The door swung open and you rolled your eyes as you followed him inside. “Are you threatening me?”
Loki whipped around with barely restrained fury as soon as the door closed. “We’re meant to be under cover here, yes? So do you really think it’s a good idea to be throwing around my actual name just to infuriate me?” he snapped angrily, eyes blazing and fists clenching at his sides.
Your stomach did a flip in your abdomen, and you struggled to maintain an air of defiance as he continued. “You don’t know who anyone is here, or who could be listening to our conversations. So keep your mouth shut if you don’t want us to be discovered! Am I being clear?”
You nodded meekly, because that was all you could manage while kicking yourself. He was right, you were being foolish and forgetting the true purpose of this trip. Hydra could easily have eyes and ears everywhere, and if you kept pissing Loki off, he might not be inclined to save you if necessary.
And you hated that it might be necessary, because he was a literal God with infinite magic at his disposal, while you were just a fallible little human that he absolutely despised.
As Loki turned away and started pulling the drapes shut, you distracted yourself with examining the room you’d been given. Three large windows took up the entire outside wall of the room, and on either side of the lone queen-sized bed were two end-tables, each with a dark green lamp providing the only light to the room. A stone fireplace sat on the opposite side of the bed, decorated with greenery and frosted miniature Christmas trees, and a tiny wooden desk and chair were the only other pieces of furniture in the room.
It was definitely cozy, even you couldn’t deny that, but that just made it worse. In any other circumstances, you might have enjoyed this break; but the Christmas decorations just reminded you of how alone you were, and Loki’s presence only reminded you of how unnecessary you were.
And it was already starting to get uncomfortably cold inside the room. Just before Loki yanked the last curtain closed, you caught a glimpse of the snow outside; it had quickly transformed from light flurries into heavy sheets of frozen precipitation. You were in for a very cold, very long and lonely night, and daylight couldn't come soon enough.
A deep sense of dread settled in the base of your spine as you realized how long you might be trapped here with this narcissistic, self-important and delusional mockery of all the sacrifices you’d made to get to this point of your career.
You’d foregone relationships with family, friends and potential lovers to spend every waking moment either training your body or honing your skills, trying to prove your worth and dedication to keeping this world safe from anything that ever threatened it.
And the planet’s most recent threat, the reason for the Avengers’ very existence, was making himself busy pulling pillows and blankets off the bed to make his own on the hardwood floor. Loki was silent as he worked, and you couldn’t help but wonder if he was actually hurt by your teasing.
You hated it. You hated this - especially since you hadn’t expected to feel so badly about taunting him. Clearing your throat, you set your suitcase on the chair and pretended to look for something inside. “Look, I’m sorry about what happened before. I guess I’m just…on edge.”
“Why bother?” he replied coldly, and you didn’t know if it was because he wasn’t actually hurt, or if it was because he didn’t care that you were potentially sorry about hurting him. Either way, the dismissal stung.
You continued rummaging through the suitcase, anything to avoid looking at your roommate for the night. How long had it been since you’d shared such close quarters with another person? Had there been anyone since college? You already felt raw and exposed by the idea of falling asleep within the same four walls as another person; but at the very least, Loki was sticking to his word about sleeping on the floor and not in the bed with you.
“You’re not worried about the mission? Or the blizzard? Or the fact that we might kill each other at any moment?” you laughed nervously, hoping to at least break some of the tension.
Loki sighed. “This mission is a joke. The blizzard might be a problem, and yes - we might certainly try to kill each other…but none of that is cause for real concern - not to me, anyway.”
Your brow furrowed, and you turned to look at him; the God of Mischief was on his hands and knees, arranging pillows and blankets on the floor. It was an amusing sight, and you struggled to maintain focus. “Wait - you think this mission is a joke?”
He paused what he was doing, staring off into the distance with regret in his eyes as if he’d already said too much but couldn’t bring himself to stop. “Don’t think for one moment that I don’t know what this mission actually is…”
You rubbed your neck nervously, unsure of where he was going with this.
“I know how easily it would be for Stark to send in his machines to do this reconnaissance, and that the Scepter likely isn’t here. Obviously, I’d be the last person they’d ever want close to it,” Loki continued, pinching the bridge of his nose with his forefingers. “I know the others are probably on the other side of the world recovering it as we speak, and that this mission is completely pointless - hence, assigning you and I to it.”
Your heart sank as he spoke, knowing that he was probably right; that this mission was utterly pointless, that it wouldn’t advance you any further in your career. That the only thing this mission was going to lead to was meaningless and unnecessary frustration and pain for the both of you.
“I know what they - and you - don’t particularly like or trust me. And you have good reason not to.” Loki cast a tragic glance in your direction before quickly looking away again.
“So why are you here then? If you don’t want to be here, and if you don’t…” you trailed off, unsure if you should finish that thought.
Loki sighed and shook his head. “It…doesn’t matter,” he answered sadly, and your heart broke over the entire situation. You didn’t know what to say to make either of you feel better, and it was likely that nothing ever would.
“There. I think that’ll do nicely,” he announced pleasantly, abruptly changing the subject and rousing you from your pensive thoughts. You glanced over to see a grown man - a God, in fact - standing proudly over the neatly arranged pillows and blankets on the floor, and for a brief moment you couldn’t help but be amused by the sight - that is, until you noticed the state of your sleeping quarters for the foreseeable future.
“You stripped off most of the bed!” you protested angrily, examining the three paltry blankets left to keep you warm overnight.
“On the contrary - I stripped precisely half of the bed,” Loki replied as he began to remove his coat. “Of course, there’s a simple and quite easy way to double your warmth if you’re so concerned…”
“Absolutely not.” The words came out harsher than you’d intended, but even just sharing four walls felt way too close to him; sharing a bed was probably way more than you ever could handle.
“Fair enough. Shall I light a fire to keep us warm then?” Loki offered without skipping a beat, the sudden change in his tone giving you multiple rounds of whiplash. He stepped over to the fireplace to examine it, running his hands over the stone hearth’s arch before crouching next to the pile of logs.
How was he able to switch so suddenly, from profound soundness to being so thoughtful? You wanted to accept the kindness and be grateful for the change in tone, but all it did was put you on edge. You sat down on the bed and began to unlace your boots, still desperately trying not to look at him. “Don’t bother on my account,” was all the response you could manage.
The room was silent for a moment, and you could almost feel the gears turning inside Loki’s head as he tried to come up with something else to say. But why was he trying so hard? You had been counting on him retreating into himself the way he always did back at Stark Tower, or worst case - that he would be deliberately messing with you, making your life hell and again ruining your chances at proving yourself worthy.
You could feel his gaze boring into the back of your skull as your boots clattered to the floor. And when he still hadn’t tried to speak, you cautiously looked over your shoulder to him. “Was there something else you wanted?”
Loki sighed and let his eyes drift away as he shook his head. An expression of restrained exasperation crawled across his features as he made his way to the makeshift bed on the floor. “Nothing. I don’t need anything from you…”
Your brow furrowed and guilt poured into your veins with every step he took. But guilt about what? You weren’t friends. You owed him nothing. This was just a mission - nothing more, and nothing less. You opened your mouth to speak, but Loki was already laying down on the floor with his back to you, clearly uninterested in speaking anymore that night.
The room seemed colder after Loki withdrew. It was an odd, incredibly distracting feeling - one that you hadn’t ever prepared yourself for, and didn’t have the energy to explore at the moment. Sleep was calling out to you, beckoning you closer as it always did whenever the feelings all became too much.
It took so much effort to crawl underneath the three blankets on your bed, and you didn’t even bother changing out of your street clothes before cocooning yourself inside. You thought about everything in your life that had led up to this incredibly excruciating moment, all the choices you’d made and the pain you’d gone through.
All that sacrifice, and where had it gotten you?
⊱ ─ ༓ ── ⋅•⋅⊰ ─ ⋅ ∙ ∘ ☽ ༓ ☾ ∘ ∙ ⋅ ─ ⊱⋅•⋅ ── ༓ ─ ⊰
Sleep did not come easy for you that night. Despite your body exhausted from travel and the gentle bed cradling your wearied soul, you laid awake far longer than you would have expected. So many thoughts flitting uncontrollably across your mind, so many shivers slipping along your frigid bones.
A cold draft seeped in through the seams of the windowsills as the snow poured down outside. You were still awake, curled up on your side with the blankets pulled tight around your narrow frame. Eyelids pulled shut and breath held cautiously, you struggled to keep from shivering too much as you imagined Loki on the floor.
He had to be colder than you were, and part of you wanted to ignore his possible discomfort. He deserved it, didn’t he? Maybe if he was more pleasant to be around, it wouldn’t have to be like this.
But another part of you hoped he’d be so uncomfortable that he’d ask to join you in the bed. Your thoughts returned to when he had slipped his arm around your waist earlier that evening, and you struggled to keep your heart rate in check. It was wrong, you knew it was so wrong because you were supposed to hate him, the villain who had terrorized New York City, and he was supposed to hate you, a simple mortal who was only good for kneeling.
“I know you’re awake.” His voice was a whisper, a small shadow in a room full of empty ones. You slowly opened your eyes, your pupils taking their time to adjust the dark and make out the furniture inside the room. You wanted to sit up, to peer out into the world and see if he looked any different on the floor.
“Can’t sleep. It’s too cold,” you murmured softly, barely able to even pull the blankets tighter around you.
Loki sighed off in the distance. “The power’s been knocked out by the storm, so the heating’s off.”
It was only then that you realized the bedside table lamps had gone out. Too busy retreating inside yourself, the only warm place you had left. “Oh. Hadn’t noticed.”
“I could light the fire now, if you’d like.”
No, you thought. No, that won’t do. That’s not what I want from you. “Why are you being so nice to me now?”
Loki stirred on the floor, presumably shifting underneath his blankets. He could be sitting up right now, looking at you in the dark and you wouldn’t ever know. “Some things are easier to say in the dark.”
You thought for a moment, wondering about how to beckon him closer without risking rejection, or your dignity. This shouldn’t happen; and yet, it never ever would in the light. “Then let’s stay in the dark.”
Loki didn’t respond, and silence descended upon the room again. You couldn’t stop the shivers tormenting your flesh, and your teeth clattered together as you waited for a response. This time, you were sure you were going to freeze to death, despite burning in the waiting, and yearning, and longing that rolled up and down your spine.
“But where there’s light…there’s heat,” Loki finally answered. His voice was closer, much closer now; he’d stood up, and maybe he was right next to the bed. Could you reach out and touch him? Should you?
“I’m doing just fine in the cold.”
Loki chuckled, and you felt the blankets pull away as the mattress dipped under his weight. “You shouldn’t lie to the God of Mischief, dear,” he whispered softly as he settled in behind you, curling his knees behind yours and brushing his nose against your ear.
His body was so very warm, and you were aching for his touch. “I think it’s only fair. You came to my bed, and left your blankets on the floor…” you sassed, unable to help yourself.
“You want me to retrieve them?” Loki’s voice carried the slightest hint of mockery as he started to pull away. You panicked and grabbed his hand, eagerly pulling his arm back around your waist.
“So fussy…” he murmured with a smile, his voice hot against your neck as he settled in to spoon you once more. “You want heat, but not light. You hate me, but you want me close…”
You melted in his arms, and forced out a soft, defiant sigh. “You have no idea what I want…”
“And you do?” He matched your sigh with one of his own, and pressed his hand flat against your stomach, moving languidly over the fabric of your many shirts and jackets. You could feel how much he wanted to move his hand upwards to more stimulating areas, and it was so very thrilling.
“So what do you want, hmm? Why did you tell the innkeeper we were engaged, when that wasn’t our planned cover story?” you whispered, shifting your hips and ass against his crotch.
Loki swallowed a deep groan, and you could feel your own arousal beginning to coat your inner thighs. His hand latched onto your hip, but he didn’t stop you from moving.
“Was it just to piss me off, or was it because you wanted to pretend it was true?” you continued, shifting back against him and hoping the movement would cause your clothing to reveal a little bare skin.
“The…first option. Obviously…” Loki whispered, his lips grazing over the shell of your ear as his hips started to grind against yours.
You swallowed back a moan, trying desperately to ignore his hardened length against the swell of your ass. “Which one of us is the liar now?”
“Gods, do you ever stop talking?!” he hissed as he began rummaging underneath your jacket, eagerly searching for bare skin as he pulled your shirt upwards. His hand finally found your bare hip, and his touch was white hot as he began unbuttoning your jeans.
This time, you didn’t bother hiding the moan, and you twisted ever so slightly underneath the sheets to encourage him to keep going. Your heart beat frantically in your chest and your lips parted, intending to tease him one more time with the brattiest ‘make me’ ever spoken aloud…
And then his fingers dipped beneath the waistband to slip between your slick thighs.
The sound that tumbled from your lips was equally parts gasp and whimper as his fingertips grazed over your soaked clit, and his breath was heavy against your neck. “There we go. That’s more like it…” he whispered breathlessly, slowly dragging his fingers back and forth.
Your thighs drifted apart, as much as they could while trapped inside the unyielding jeans, and your hips rolled eagerly as he pressed harder against your clit. Heat flooded your veins, pooling beneath your cheeks and spilling out of your lungs as you whimpered for more.
Loki slipped his other arm around your shoulder, those fingers curling in your hair as his lips started to kiss and suck along your neck. “So sensitive…have you always been this wet for me?”
“Yes…” you moaned honestly, unable to deny it any longer. You’d say anything to make him keep going, to keep those delicate fingers pressing and massaging and coaxing endless satisfaction from you.
“That’s a shame. We could have been doing this the whole time then…” he groaned heavily, shuddering and sighing along as if he was getting as much pleasure out of this as you were.
“Oh, my god - Loki!” you gasped as he slipped a finger inside, slowly pushing and withdrawing it from your swollen, throbbing pussy. Your hips bucked with his movements, and your fingers curled around your clothing, desperately trying to pull and shift to give him more room to work.
Loki smiled against your neck, and brought his lips up to nibble on your earlobe as he added a second finger. “This feels good, doesn’t it? You’re enjoying what I’m doing to you?”
That familiar coil of release was beginning to contract inside your core, tighter than it ever had before. Frantic whimpers of ecstasy fell from your lips, unashamed and without second-guessing. With your eyes closed and your hips writhing, you moaned louder and louder as your climax approached.
“Careful, little one. Do you want the innkeeper to hear us breaking our vows of chastity?” he taunted in a low, thrumming voice against your ear.
“I don’t care, I don’t care! Just, please - keep going!”
Loki’s fingers moved faster still, skillfully and without hesitation, as if he was completely determined to bring you to Heaven himself. But just as the floodgates were about to open, just as you were about to come so very hard, he cruelly withdrew his fingers.
“What?! No!” Your eyes flew open in shock as the pressure receded and the coil in your belly began to loosen.
Loki gazed at you with a triumphant grin on his face, his emerald eyes blazing in the dark. “Maybe now you’ll be nicer to me…now that you know what I can do to you…” he murmured, bringing his fingers to his lips and sucking your arousal from them.
Your mind reeled uncontrollably, so furious and yet still so turned on by the pleasure he’d brought and subsequently taken from you. “I- I can’t believe you…Wh-why would you’d d-do this…?” you stammered, clumsily pushing yourself up to sitting.
Loki settled on his back, grinning from ear to ear as he watched you struggling to pull your jacket off. “Surely you can. But the real question is…what are you going to do about it, hmm?”
“Oh, my God, I hate you. I hate you so much,” you groaned as you finally freed the zipper and yanked the jacket off your frame. You stumbled out of the bed, thighs trembling violently as you worked to remove the rest of your clothing. You weren’t lying; you did hate him, but goddammit he was so alluring and you desperately needed to come.
Loki watched hungrily as you stripped the rest of your clothing away and climbed back onto the bed, settling yourself over his hips. “Well, this is certainly an interesting strategy,” he whispered as he curled a hand behind your neck and pulled your lips down to his.
You moaned deeply as you kissed him back, violently and passionately moving your lips and tongue with his. You eagerly rolled your bare pussy against his clothed hips, searching for any sort of friction and for a way to tease him more than he’d teased you, to make sure you wouldn’t be denied a second time.
He met your lips just as eagerly, groaning and moaning against your mouth as he moved his hands to cup your breasts, his thumbs brushing across your nipples and driving you mad with want. Your hands moved to his jacket, grabbing and struggling to align the zipper with the chain and be able to feel his skin directly against yours.
“Use your magic, undo your clothing…” you whispered frantically against his lips, unable to see or think clearly.
“Absolutely not. Show me how much you want me…” Loki hummed teasingly, shifting his hands downwards to grasp your ass and force you to roll harder against his hips.
You grinned, pleased with his words, and pulled back to sit upright on his hips. With your full weight pressing down, you rolled yourself harder against him, and his back arched in pleasure. When his jaw clenched tight and he rolled his hips with yours, you violently pulled the jacket zipper down and then ripped his shirt open.
“Oh, you are going to pay for that, minx!” Loki hissed angrily as shirt buttons went flying across the room. He pulled his hand away as if preparing to smack your ass, but you ignored it, leaned forward to take his nipple between your lips.
Loki moaned loudly as you sucked, flicking your tongue as he squirmed and writhed beneath you. His eyes closed and both of his hands returned to your ass, and you matched every one of his moans with some of your own. Vindication and pleasure rushed up and down your spine - and then he finally magicked his clothes away.
You found yourself pressed directly against the length of his throbbing cock, and you both moaned loudly in unison at the intimate contact. He wasn’t even inside you yet, but you couldn’t believe how amazing it felt already. You shifted to bury your face in the crook of his neck, breathing in his scent and basking in the warmth of his naked body as your hips gyrated together.
The blizzard outside was forgotten, the cold air nipping at your bare skin was no longer a concern, and in that moment you couldn’t remember why you ever hated him. He whimpered in your ear and wrapped his arms tightly around your waist as your hips writhed in unison, and soon that coil was wrapping itself around every fiber of your being again.
There was nothing anyone could do to stop you from coming this time; in fact, Loki actively encouraged you to keep going through a heated, growling voice. “Yes, take it from me. Let it all out, I’ve got you…” he commanded, his fingers pressing harder into your flesh.
The orgasm ripped through you, searing every nerve ending as you thrashed on top of him. Your fingers and toes curled beyond what you thought was ever possible, and your muscles kept tensing and relaxing, grinding and rolling in a desperate attempt to keep this pleasure flowing.
Loki held on tightly, groaning and gasping right along with you until you finally started to come back down. One by one your muscles relaxed until you lay limp, breathing heavily between parted lips on top of him. You were finally sated, with no thoughts passing through you any longer; maybe now you could finally fall asleep…
Satisfied that you had gotten yours - and the better of him - you started to roll away, but his arms tightened around your body, keeping you on top of him. “Oh, I don’t think so, darling. I’m not done with you yet…”
Your eyes fluttered back open as Loki adjusted your body on top of his, and before you could muster the strength to tease him again, he was pushing himself inside you. It felt incredible, like his body was molded to fit inside yours, and you couldn’t believe he’d somehow figured out what your favorite position was.
A deep whimper of pleasure was all you could manage as you took him in, his cock pulsating inside you and filling you entirely. Loki moved his hands back down to grip your ass as he began to thrust upwards, his thighs tensing and pelvis tilting to hit your sweet spot. You shifted your knees away from his hips and hovered above them as he drove himself into you over and over again.
Almost immediately you were on the verge of coming a second time, and you cried out his name as every nerve ending fired off in rapid succession. Loki’s thrusts were relentless as he came apart with you, his fingers digging into your flesh and hips bucking wildly and uncontrollably beneath you.
You clung to each other the entire time, your minds wracked with pleasure and bodies spent until you were both just panting and laying peacefully in each other’s arms. When clarity returned, you had no idea how to react; should you push him away? Should you say something rude? Was he going to beat you to either of those options first?
The deepest, most vulnerable part of you just wanted to stay there, lingering in the bliss you both had created with each other. You’d never had a partner this exquisite before, and you didn’t know what you were going to do when you returned home - let alone the next morning.
You nestled in against his chest and listened to the sound of his heart beating - steadily, calmly, peacefully. Loki kept his arms around you, and his fingers ran through your hair, gently massaging your scalp as he held you close.
“I’ve got a lot of amends to make,” Loki said quietly, his voice tinged with melancholy.
You blinked and cautiously brought your hand to his chest, placing it soothingly over his heart. “What do you mean?”
“Earlier you asked why I was here. I’ve got a lot of amends to make,” he repeated, placing his hand over yours. “For New York, for the pain I’ve caused my father and brother, for letting myself be - ”
Loki swallowed hard and shook his head, and could almost feel the regret swelling in his eyes. There was something important he wasn’t sharing; maybe he didn’t know how, or maybe he didn’t know if he could trust you yet. Something deep inside you longed to earn that trust, something you didn’t quite understand.
“You don’t need to say it if you don’t want to. But…I’d be willing to listen, whenever you are ready,” you replied sincerely, hoping he’d believe you. And then you continued on, to make a joke and hopefully lighten the mood. “First, though, I think we need to agree to a cease-fire. In the spirit of Christmas, and whatnot.”
Loki smiled and pressed a kiss to your forehead. “I knew you’d be the first one to concede…” he murmured playfully. “But I’m feeling generous. Let’s just call it a draw…”
Your mind reeled with possibilities, unsure of what to say that wouldn’t make anything worse or ruin the moment. “Really? I thought your hatred of me was permanent…” you answered cautiously.
Loki shifted his hand to gently grasp your chin, tilting your head to look at him. “I don’t hate you. You just…bewilder and confound me…”
His gaze was soft and warm, and it almost took your breath away. If he was this delicate with someone he found this irritating, how tender could he be with someone he actually loved? And could he ever actually love you someday?
You forced a smile, and traced his cheekbones with your fingertips, hoping he couldn’t read your thoughts. “I don’t know. Maybe all the teasing and insulting was what made this so good?” you murmured playfully.
Loki returned your smile, although there was a hint of sadness you couldn’t quite place etched upon his features. “I suppose we’ll see what happens in tomorrow’s light, won’t we?”

Been wanting to scream about this for a while now, figured now is a good as ever time to do so.
So Gundam: Witch From Mercury really leans heavily into the whole witches and witchcraft theme, which is interesting for a sci-fi show. Not to say that they don't do it gloriously tho and in this post I will be pointing towards some of the symbolism that I noticed in the show.
The series starts with the first witch we see inside a Gundam Mobile Suit, none other then our dearest Elnora Samaya, also now known as Prospera Mercury. During the prologue, before anything else, we see her and once she exists the dark of the cockpit its revealed that she has fiery, blood red hair.

Historically, witchcraft has been associated with red heads because of the many prejeduces against them. Red heads are a minority who have been associated with a lot interesting figure, from Judas who betrayed Jesus to the depictions of Lilith. This has given redheads a negative connotations in the Western World.
Next we see that the head researcher leading this project on GUND-format is also a woman, an older woman at that. Dr Cardo Nabo is the visionary leading this project, dedicated to the cause of making the GUND-format work in conjunction with humanity, in order to improve their lives and perserve their future. She knows that humanity, if it wishes to expand further into space and continuenits next steps into exploration and living outside of Earth, will need technology in order to aid their bodies in order to survive and thrive.
Older women involved in a form of medicine is an other motif in witchcraft and witch stereotypes. Witches were often involved in medicine and care. Cardo is the italian way of refering to a thistle, a purple green prickly flower that was said tp have medicinal properties in the middle ages.

During this prologue and later in the show it is revealed that the reason why the Vanadis Institute, of which Dr. Nabo was the head of, was doing resesrch into the GUND-format in conjunction with Mobile Suits because that was the primary way to get access to money for further research. Military funding through Ochs-Earth, an Earthian military company, would allow the Institute to further their goals and to show the viability of the GUND-format.
However, they encountered difficulties during their research. Mobile Suits are far larger and more difficult to control then prostethic limbs. The higher the permet score used by an individual to control more of the suit, the more the chance of death grows. Anything higher then score 3 caused deaths to the user because of, presumably, a data overload caused by the Permet link.
This caused a lot of ethical debates and strife, presumably, where the GUND-format was cast into a dangerous and even inhuman light because of its potential to not just kill others but also the users themselves. This led to the eventual forceful suspension of the project by the council, during which Cathedra used the Dominicus Forces to attack and kill all those present on Fólkvangr, the asteroid where the Vanadis Institute was located. Those present on Fólkvangr were both staff of the institute as well as their family. Everyone who was involved or related to the development of the GUND-format were killed in what is essentially a witch hunt.
Fólkvangr is an other reference to witchcraft, as in Norse Mythology this is a heavenly field in the afterlife ruled over by Freyja, a goddess of many things including magic (to see and influence the future). An other name for Freyja is Vanadís. Once again, this is a reference to paganism and witchcraft within the G-Witch universe thats quite obvious. Ochs also may or may not be a reference to the Old English word for "Oak" (not too sure about that one), if this is indeed true then this may be a reference to Thor, god of Thunder and Lightening as well as a warrior. I considered connecting oaks to Yggdrasil, the world tree, but that is an Ash tree, not an oak.
During the discussion in which the Mobile Suit council werebdeciding the fate of further development of Gundam Mobile Suits, Delling came forth and said that they had to "Wield the hammer of witches" in order to put a stop to the development of Gundams. The "hammer of the witches" is a reference to the Malleus Maleficarum, a 15th century guide on hunting and persecuting witches.
During his speech at the conference, he also calls the fact that gundams kill not only other soldiers but also their wielders a curse, once again a reference to witches. Prior to saying this he also says however that humans should kill humans, instead of humans being killed by just technology (really simplifying this) but essentially what he is saying is that the Gundams killing their wielders is unnatural and goes against the normal way of things.

The irony of this is also the name of these organisations. Cathedra is a literal reference to the throne upon which a bishop sits, Dominicus means "of the Lord/Lord's". Both are a reference towards christianity and its opposition to both withcraft and paganism.
Now we have established whom exactly this show calls "Witches", these are the people involved in the manufacturing, research, development and piloting of the GUND-format and Mobile Suits using said format, be it for medicinal or war uses. If you are associated or sympathize with the use of this technology, you are considered "a witch".
Putting this into context, we can now also look at the name "Witch From Mercury". Who does this refer to? I've seen people argue that this might be Aerial or Prospera, but I sincerely disagree. As of the knowledge we have come to learn of in both the short novel as well as everything from episode 16/season 2 episode 4 onwards, we can assume that Suletta was the only one actually raised on Mercury and who feels any connection to the planet at all. Suletta, as both a pilot of a Mobile Suit using the GUND-format as well as the daughter of a witch (Elnora/Prospera), is a witch.

Now onto my FAVOURITE part: the 2nd ED Red Birthmark. Oh boi this baby has some of the more blatant witch references, I absolutely love it ngl. Starting with the name itself, historically one of the methods to hunt for witches was to check for birthmarks/skin marks. Having strange birthmarkings or an insensitive patch of skin was basically proof enough of you being a witch, again a part of the witch hunt theme.
The song, which I am convinced is from Miorine's perspective (tho maybe/perhaps Aerial, tho thats a small maybe), makes references to seeing into the future, not liking whats in it and changing destiny yourself. Once again, these are themes of clairvoyance, the sort of magic Freyja is associated with (aka Vanadís). Witches were often said to be able to look into the future and change things as well.
Next we have the visual parts if the ED. I'm sure we all ate utterly in love with.
youtube
From 0:44 to 1:00 we have this beautiful sequence of Suletta dancing and conducting GUN-bits.
First Suletta creates a stylized version of the Triple Goddess Symbol, a well known pagan icon amongst both witchcraft practitioners as well as wiccans. The symbol contains 3 moons in different phases; waxing, full and waning. The symbol represents the 3 phases of the goddess; the maiden, the mother and the crone. This is both the life lifecycle of a girl as well as the eay that wisdom is often bestowed upon a person, from the elderly to the adults to the children. You could even argue that this could represent Dr. Nabo, Elnora/Prospera and Suletta.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Source: G-witch 2nd ED)
Following this we have 5 Suletta's dancing together in which one can assume is a circle dance. Circle dances bave historically been associated with both witches, pagans and cultists. Something ritualistic.

Anyway I'm tired now but there are like way more witchcraft references in the whole show that I can't get into right now cause I'm tired lmao. Anyway have fun with the above, peace.

MASTERLIST °☆• BABY FEVER MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
Adding another baby to your family was harder than you anticipated - that much you knew and learned. What sometimes happened within the blink of an eye, on a drunk one-night-stand or the mistake to use no protection - hence, even a broken condom or one forgotten pill could be fatal. Well, not to you, as it seemed.
Ella had been a planned child and everything went super smooth. Within weeks you had found yourself being pregnant. Being the sassy God Loki was, he blamed it on his superior biology of course; boosting his ego. Now, barely six years later, Loki's superior biology seemed to lost its 'super power' - or well, parts of your body seemed to lost its function. Almost a year had passed by now since you and Loki started the mission of giving Ella a sibling, but nothing happened. Absolutely nothing. Every pregnancy test you took, came back negative. With the time passing, Ella got impatient, didn't understand what took her parents so long. "Things like this just take time, sometimes, sweetie." You'd always tell her and try to tame her curiosity and impatience. Needless to say, neither you or Loki understood what exactly was wrong. You were both fine, got thoroughly checked by the best Asgardian doctors. Fate just didn't want it to happen, as it seemed. This all started to take its toll on you. With every negative pregnancy test, you blamed yourself more and more for it - despite the fact that you knew, that it wasn't actually your fault. Loki tried to reassure you and be supportive as best as he could, but it was a disappointment for you nevertheless. That was exactly the situation you were currently facing - again, for the hundredth time.
You stared at the little stick in your hands. Negative. Again. With a sigh, you closed your eyes, trying to prevent the tears from falling. You didn't know why you were still taking tests... It was always the same result. Pinching the bridge of your nose, you inhaled deeply, tried desperately to keep yourself together - but it just wasn't possible. The result weighed you down; the feeling of failure kicking in once again. The tears started to fall in waterfalls, running unbridled down your face. And suddenly was all you wanted to do, shut yourself off; away from the world and sink down this deep dark whole you got sucked into. Not caring about the pregnancy test, which clattered to the bathroom floor, you stormed out of the room, straight into direction bedroom. Burying yourself underneath layers and layers of pillows and blankets, you laid there, crying and crying for hours on no end. You didn't even notice how the main door to your apartment got opened...
Unbeknownst to you, had Loki just returned from an utterly boring meeting. Steve had insisted to discuss that mission this evening and not wait until tomorrow morning - much to Loki's dismay. He actually wanted to spend a nice evening with you today, since Ella was at Thor's for a sleepover with Eisa, but well... Rogers thwarted the God's plans. Closing the main door behind him, green seidr enveloped his body immediately, changing him from a black suit into something casual. Loose grey sweatpants and a black t-shirt. "Y/N?" Loki shouted through the apartment. "Darling, I'm back!" He received no answer. Quirking an eyebrow, he made his way into the living room first, to check if you were there. Nothing. He checked a few other rooms too, noticing that every light was off. The God was already about to just call you, when he entered the bathroom, switching on the light and seeing a little plastic stick laying on the ground. Frowning, he bend down to pick it up - only to realise that it was a pregnancy test. A negative pregnancy test. A cold shiver ran down his spine, and suddenly he had a very bad feeling about this. "Oh no..." Loki mumbled, before he made his way out of the bathroom and straight towards the bedroom.
Cautiously, he stepped inside the spacious room, turning on the lights - but immediately dimming them down. "Y/N?" No answer. His eyes landed on the big pile of blankets and pillows, literally stacked up in the middle of the bed. There was absolutely no mistaking, that you were hiding somewhere in that bundle. The God sighed once again, eyebrows knitted together with sadness.
Slowly he approached the bed. "Y/N, darling... I know what happened..." He started in a soft voice, removing the first 'layer' from the pile. "I-I saw it..." Another layer. "I'm so sorry, my love." And another layer. "I know this is absolutely torturous..." A few pillows. "And not at all fair - not in the slightest." The thick, woollen blanket was the last thing left covering you. Loki would probably never understand how you were still able to breath underneath all those pillows and blankets - and in another situation, he would've laughed about your sweet, childish behaviour to hide underneath cloth, but not in that situation. Absolutely not. Loki wanted to gently pull the blanket away from your body - which was rolled up into a ball, but you only pulled the blanket tighter around you, not intending to let go. All he could hear from you, were the soft whines and whimpers - and his heart shattered for you, started to bleed. The God knew how much this all hurt you mentally, but it never had been that bad before. Yes, it wasn't the first time he found you curled up in a ball of blankets and pillows, but you never refused to be 'found' before. Loki's heart ached, seeing you like that.
Instead of trying to just pull the woollen blanket away, he decided to leave your 'shell' around you and tried to comfort you, until you decided to come out on your own. "It's hard and not easy, I know, but please..." He placed a hand on your back (He assumed it was your back.) and moved it in a circle, trying to reassure you and give you a comfortable feeling. "Please don't shut yourself out. I'm here for you. You don't have to fight this battle on your own. I am right here with you." Still no answer, only a few more sobs. Loki sighed once again, on the verge of despair. One last try, he thought. He stood up again, rounded the bed and crawled inside on the other side, so that he was facing your back now. The God slid closer and wrapped his arm around you, followed by his chest hitting your back gently, spooning you. "Please, my love, my darling, my queen... Don't carry this burden alone." The God whispered. His deep, soothing voice, combined with the way he held you seemed to break down the walls you had built up around you. In a quick movement, you threw the blanket aside and turned around in your husband's embrace, before you literally threw yourself in his awaiting arms, clinging to him like a monkey to a tree. There was no holding back now. The tears started to fall from your eyes rapidly, wetting Loki's t-shirt as you cried and sobbed in his warm embrace. "There you go, darling." He said in a gentle tone, kissing your head. "Let it all out. I'm here." That was exactly what you did. You cried and cried, while Loki just held you and tried to comfort you.
"I-I'm so sorry..." You whispered after you had calmed down again. The God immediately shook his head. "You have nothing to be sorry for, Y/N. Nothing." He felt you nod against his chest. "I-I am... I am an emotional wreck." "So? That's no reason to apologise." You scoffed softly, burying your head further into his chest, snuggling even closer. "Thank you for... you know." A soft smile darted over the God's face. "Now that sounds better, my love. Much wiser words coming from that sweet mouth, than unnecessary apologies." You scoffed again, hitting his side slightly. You weren't able to hide the small smile on your face at your husband's cockiness, but you quickly slipped back into seriousness. "I-I, uh, think I must be doing something wrong..." You mumbled sadly, referring of course to the negative test. Loki shook immediately his head and looked down at you with pure love and adoration. "Absolutely not." "It's the only way to explain this, Lokes... I-" "No, darling, stop that, please. It's not your fault. Stop blaming yourself. If there is someone to blame, then obviously me, because I do seem to have a very bad aim." You frowned. "Babe... That's quite a bit ridiculous. How can you claim to have a bad aim, when you can't miss." He shrugged his shoulders. "Why do you, my love, claim that it is your fault, when there's absolutely nothing you can change, because you already do everything possible?" Damn, you thought. He had a point there. Loki was right - and he could see it on your face. "See, darling?" The God said, slightly amused, before he squeezed you gently. "Sometimes these things take time - Thor told me that, too. It's going to happen someday." You nodded against his chest. "Jane told me that, too. Said we should stop worrying and not stress ourselves. She even said I should stop taking tests and just... leave it be." Loki nodded in agreement. "We should stop thinking about it too much." And that was exactly what you did. Well, at least you tried. It wasn't easy sometimes, since you had that itch to just think about it, but in those situations, you were glad Loki was there. He helped you to take your mind off things - and this new strategy seemed to pay off two months later...
You stood in Loki's and your bedroom, getting ready to go on a small shopping trip with Nat. Just as you turned around to reach for your purse and mobile, you suddenly felt from one moment to the other incredibly sick. Your stomach churned, twisted in knots, causing you to throw your things on the bed and storm off towards the bathroom, destination toilet. Luckily, you reached it just in time... You literally threw yourself on the tiled floor and hung now over the bowl, throwing up the delicious vegetable pan you had for lunch. And just like that was the nausea gone again. You felt better. Frowning, you wiped your mouth and washed your hands. What in all the nine realms was- ohhhh... Suddenly realisation hit you, eyes widening. Could it really be? You jumped up and quickly digged up the abandoned pregnancy tests. You more or less yanked the little package open, took the test with shaking hands and waited impatiently for the result to show, pacing up and down the bathroom. You prayed, hoped, that your assumption was right and that it had finally, finally worked out for you and Loki to create a new life after months and months of trying and endless frustration after all the negative tests. "Y/N? Are you ready to go?" You suddenly heard Natasha's voice echoing down the hallway. "Y-Yes, just give me 5 minutes!" "Alright!"
It seemed like those five minutes were refusing to just pass by... It took eternity. After probably another minute or so, you lost your patience and just wanted to see the result. So, you took the little plastic stick clumsily in your hands - and turned it around with full anticipation. Your heart almost stopped at what your eyes saw. Two lines. Two. Lines. Two! That meant... You needed to take a deep breath. Pregnant… You were pregnant! Loki's, your - and especially Ella's wish for another baby had been finally granted! You couldn't help yourself but to let out an excited, rather loud squeak. You jumped up and down, feeling deliriously happy, as a sudden knock on the door interrupted your little private party. "Y/N? Is everything alright?" Natasha. The sheer boundless happiness inside of you took over your system. You had the urge to tell it somebody, scream it out aloud. After all, you were anyway not able to hide your giddiness in front of your best friend. So, you literally ripped open the door and smiled broadly at the visibly confused Black Widow. "Oh Nat, I am more than alright! Perfect! Absolutely fine! Tickety-boo!" Okay... The endorphins were running wild inside your body... "O-Okay... That's, um, great, wonderful..." The woman opposite you was visibly completely confused - especially by your strange choice of words, but your smile even widened. You answered nothing, just held the positive pregnancy test in front of Natasha's face. Her eyes widened as well. "What??? You're... You're pregnant?!" You nodded fastly, literally beaming at your best friend by now. "Oh my! Sweetie, that's amazing!" She pulled you in a big, bone crushing hug. You hugged her back of course, looping your arms around her. "That's wonderful, really. I'm happy for you and Loki - but, don't rush it. Remember, that's 'just' a test, sweetie. Get that checked by a professional, so you can be really sure. I can ask Bruce to do it, if you want." You nodded against her neck. "Thank you so much, Nat; and yeah, I know. I will get this checked as soon as possible, but not by Bruce. Don't take this the wrong way, but Bruce is terrible at keeping secrets. Almost as terrible as Thor and Peter." Your best friend snorted out a laugh at your words. "Yes, I know. You're right. Bruce is probably not the right person for this." After sharing another laugh with Nat, you wiped away a few stray happy tears and went together with the red-haired spy on the planned shopping trip - on which you bought something to surprise little Ella...
Only two days later - after the pregnancy got confirmed by a professional (not Bruce, though), you decided it was time to surprise your daughter.
"Ella?" You addressed the girl, who laid on the soft rug in the living room, colouring. Loki was - as chance would have it, on a mission for a few days in California, so you had Ella all for yourself. "Yes, mommy?" She lifted her head, causing some raven locks to fall into her face. "I've got a surprise for you, sweetheart." Her eyes widened. "A surprise?" You nodded, "Uh.Huh." and brought a wrapped box out from behind your back. "Want to open it?" A smile spread on your face, as you witnessed how the little girl literally jumped up and excitedly ran towards you. "Yes, yes, yes!" You handed your gift over to Ella and watched how she smiled up at you brightly. "Thanks, mommy." "Of course, baby, now open it." Were you more excited than Ella about all this? Probably. She giggled at sat down on the floor, ripping her present open. Her oceanic blue orbs widened once again. "A new doll?" She asked, pure happiness lacing her voice, eyes shining. You nodded. "Yep. Do you like it?" "Yes!" Ella squealed and went immediately to unpack the doll. "But why are you giving me a new doll? It's not my birthday or Christmas." That was it. That was the moment you had waited for. For the curious nature of your daughter to kick in. A sweet smile graced your lips, as you squatted down in front of her, to be on eye-level with her, taking both her small hands in your bigger ones. "Well, you have to practice for your baby sibling, right?" For the third time, you witnessed Ella's eyes widen. "My baby sibling? Does that mean I am finally going to get one?!" You nodded. "Yes, princess. You are going to be a big sister soon." A high-pitched squeal left her lips, as she giggled excitedly - and before you knew it, Ella had thrown herself in your arms, hugging you with her smaller body as tight as possible. "Thank you, mommy! Thank you so much!" You just pulled her closer, burying your face in her hair. Seeing your daughter so happy, caused your heart to slosh over with love and happiness as well. "I have to thank daddy as well!" Ella suddenly exclaimed. "Can I call him?!" A small giggle left your lips, as you shook your head. "I'm afraid you can't, baby, 'cause daddy doesn't know yet." Ella's face scrunched up. "What do you mean he doesn't know yet?" "I haven't told daddy yet about your baby brother or sister." You explained, tugging a loose curl back behind her ear. "Ohhh..." Ella understood, of course. "Why didn't you tell daddy yet?" You began to smile again. "Because I wanted to surprise him together with you. Would you like to do that?" Her eyes started to shine once again. "Yes! I want to surprise daddy!" "Perfect. Then what do you think of this idea..." You leaned forward to whisper the idea you had in mind into her ear - and she was absolutely enthusiastic about it.
From that day on, Ella couldn't wait for her father to come home from the mission, wanting to surprise him so badly. Luckily, she didn't have to wait long. Only a day later, the God returned from the small mission in California...
You and Ella weren't at home, when Loki returned - what he anticipated, because a look on the watch told him, that it was time to pick Ella up from the kindergarten, and that was exactly what you did.
He slipped out of his black boots and placed them neatly beside the main door. With a snap of his fingers, Loki was completely naked; his armour melting off his body. He made his way in all his glory to the bathroom, straight into the shower. Even before he was finished, you returned home with Ella. Noticing immediately that your husband was back, you and the little girl put your plan to surprise him into action. "Daddy's home, Ella, let's go." She nodded and giggled all the while, happy to be the centrepiece of your proposition. Sending Ella into her room to 'play', in order to stick to the plan, you went to the bathroom. Okay, actually you couldn't wait to see Loki and finally have your hands all over him again. With your heart beating rapidly against your ribcage in happiness and excitement, you quietly opened the door and stepped inside.
Loki had his back towards you and stood in front of the sink. The scent of his shower gel and cologne wafted through the air. Home... It smelled like home. The only thing he wore, was a towel, which was wrapped loosely around his hips; his broad, muscular shoulders and back on full display. Your mouth almost started to water at that sight. Was it because he was away for a few days, or - Jesus, were your hormones starting to kick in already? You quickly shook your head, in order to get rid of your quite... sinful thoughts. This isn't about sex now, you reminded yourself. It seemed like he hadn't noticed you, so you sneaked up on him and placed your hands on his sides, before letting them glide over his smooth skin, before they came to rest on his abs. Loki flinched slightly at the sudden, surprising contact, but relaxed immediately, when you pressed your lips on his left shoulder blade, trailing kisses over his back. Loki hummed in appreciation, "Hello, darling." before he turned in your embrace and pressed your body against his still damp chest. Not wasting a second, you pulled him into a passionate, intoxicating kiss; burying your hands in his wet hair, tugging gently. Well, that was actually exactly the thing you wanted to prevent from happening now, but you just couldn't help yourself. Loki was simply irresistible.
Pulling away from him, in order to catch your breath, you immediately noticed the smug smirk on your husband's face and how his blue eyes were hooded with desire. "Mhhh, I'm happy to see you too, my queen." To underline his words, he let his hands wander lower, until they were planted on your ass and bucked his hips, letting them clash into yours. You groaned softly. Yes, he was noticeably happy to see you. It sent a fresh wave of arousal down your spine and so slowly, you feared that you maybe were about to lose focus again. It absolutely didn't help that Loki had lowered his head by now, kissing and nipping down your neck. What was it you wanted to do? Luckily, the God's next words reminded you of your mission and brought you down to reality, causing you to try to get a grip again. "Where's Ella?" "I-In her r-room, I-" You had to cut off your own sentence, as Loki's hand was brushing suddenly the inside of your thighs. "Good. Don't want her to walk in on us..." He said, winking at you, before he dipped his head; lips ghosting over your cleavage. You felt how the willpower to stop this and escape his deadly kisses and touches left you so slowly. Your brain started to go foggy; clouded by lust. When your husband's hand travelled down your chest and brushed your stomach, the clear-headed, reasonable and still present part of your brain reminded you once again of the task ahead. You couldn't just let Ella wait in her room - not even for a quick round. You knew that she would come to look after you, so you did what you had to do and took a step back, slowly getting out of Loki's grasp. "Baby... We can't. Not now." The God looked at you incredulously, blinking, before he almost started to pout. "Why not, my darling wife? I've been away for days, separated from you... I've lusted for your touch day and night; to feel your beautiful body underneath my fingertips again - and now you deny me to quench my thirst?" You almost gave in right then and there at his words, but you beat yourself to stay strong. "I know, Lokes..." You started, wrapping your hands loosely back around his waist. "I've longed for you, too, but Ella has a surprise for you - a surprise that cannot wait..." Loki blinked, before the right corner of his lips curled up into a half smile. "My princess got a surprise for me?" You nodded. "Uh.Huh. I'll go get her - and you put on some clothes. Although, it saddens me to see my incredibly sexy man dressed, but... Tonight I'm all yours, I promise." He smiled even more, the smugness on his face clearly visible. "Alright, my love. I think that is a compromise I am willing to accept." With a last lingering kiss, Loki finally let you go, in order to get Ella...
The little girl waited impatiently for her dad to step out of the bathroom - and when he did, there was no holding back. "Daddy!" She stormed towards him - straight into his arms, hugging him tightly. "Hello, my sweet girl." Loki chuckled, kissing her cheek. "I have a surprise for you!" She excitedly squeaked, unable to hold back a minute longer. "Mommy told me so." Loki said, as she let her down again. "What is it?" "Mommy got me a new t-shirt!" "Ohh, a new t-shirt?" Ella nodded, "Uh.Huh. Look!" and slipped the sweatshirt - which had covered purposefully the t-shirt she wore underneath, over her head. The smile on Loki's face was still present - due to the excitement of his daughter, but when his eyes landed on the new item of clothing, the smile immediately faded, turned into shock and surprise. On the little girl's pink t-shirt stood printed in big letters 'I Am Going To Be A Big Sister!', alongside two elephants - one smaller, the other bigger. Loki's jaw dropped. He was visibly overwhelmed. "Y-You're going to be a big s-sister?" Ella nodded excitedly, rocking back and forth on her feet. "Uh.Huh!" "W-Wow, that's... That's incredible, I-" Before Loki could even finish his sentence, Ella was back in his arms, squeezing him with everything she got. "Thank you, daddy, for giving me a baby sibling!" A light-hearted giggle escaped the God's lips. "Of course, princess. I promised you I would make sure of it, didn't I?" "Yep!" Ella placed a sloppy, wet kiss on his cheek. You watched the scenes from where you leaned against the wall, arms crossed over your chest, wiping away a few stray tears. This moment was just so utterly precious. You feared that your heart was going to explode from all the love. "Mommy also gifted me a new doll to practice for my brother or sister..." "Really? Now that's amazing, isn't it?" The small girl nodded, beaming at her father. "Can I show you?" Loki nodded, smiling broadly as well. "Of course, sweetheart. Go already ahead. I'll be right behind you. Just let me talk to your mother for a minute." "Okay!" She kissed his cheek again, before she stormed off, but not without giving you a hug on her way as well.
Now it was just you and Loki. His oceanic blue eyes were looking at you, filled with tears. "My love..." He started, shaking his head. "Is this true? Are you pregnant?" You just nodded, unable to form words, as the tears started to stream down your face as well. An audible gasp left his lips; the realisation finally kicking in. He bridged the distance between you and him, quickly engulfing you in a hug - which you returned gladly. The two of you stood there for a few moments, just crying happy tears and holding on to each other, before Loki backed up - just enough to press his forehead against yours. "H-How far along are you?" "Six weeks." Loki breathed out happily, the smile on his face getting as wide as it physically could. "I love you." He said, pressing a kiss on your lips, before he sunk on his knees in front of you, pressing his forehead gently against your stomach. "I love you." Loki repeated those three words like a believer a prayer in the church. "I love you." You buried your hands in his raven locks, witnessing how he pressed small kisses into the clothed skin on your stomach - and once again you couldn't stop the tears from falling. "I love you, too, baby... So much." At some points you felt how your knees were giving in and you sunk on the floor in front of Loki. He was quick to 'catch' you and wrap you once again up in a tight hug, crying happy tears alongside you. This new life growing within you meant so much to you and Loki. All the pain and sadness paying off now, getting rewarded by the biggest gift in life. You always felt happy with the life you lived - but you didn't feel so much happiness in a while, like you did right here and now - and so did Loki. A whole new chapter of life; a fresh page in Loki's and your storybook was ready to be discovered - and you've never been more ready to go on this journey with Loki and Ella by your side.

My honest review of The Marvels (2023):
6/10
I really don't want to be negative about this movie, but I really don't think this movie was great. I enjoyed it, but I don't think this movie was great.
First of all: the plot structure. Everyone says it is messy, and I didn't understand what they meant until I watched it. It was incredibly rushed - there was no clear structure, and things just happened. Nothing was developed, and when it was developed, it wasn't developed enough. There was no character development in this film, outside of Carol and Monica talking twice, and Carol doing something towards the end.
The beginning was incredibly messy and just felt like random scenes were thrown around. You don't need to see Wandavision, Ms Marvel or Secret Invasion, but that doesn't help. This film desperately needed to be 2 hours and 30 minutes. So much needed developing. So much needed to be done.
Kamala and the Khan's were excellent. Iman Vellani was excellent, and Zenobia Shroff was brilliant as Muneeba Khan.
Brie Larson and Teyonah Parris are doing the best they can, and that best is amazing. But the plot doesn't allow them to act like real people, and their respective characters suffer a lot.
Park Seo Joon as Prince Yan was... eh. He was okay, but Aladna was just... why? The Aladnans were just there.
Zawe Ashton as Dar-Benn was great. Her motivations, plan and acting were great. But again, she suffers from the same problems as Carol and Monica - there is no time to flesh her out. Nevertheless, she remains intimidating and fun to watch.
There's a scene with the flerkens that's executed beautifully. But in the grand scheme of things, they took up valuable screen time that I would have preferred being seen on the characters.
I'm just numb. This movie could have done so much. It didn't. I desperately hope this is a Thor: The Dark World scenario and the 3rd Captain Marvel movie, but I don't trust the MCU with Carol, Monica and Kamala anymore.
At the end of the day, I'm going to keep making memes and fanfic because I love these characters. I love what they can be. I love the people hidden beneath them.
I know why people love this movie, and I absoloutely know why people hate it.
At the end of the day, I just want to rewatch Captain Marvel and Ms Marvel and Wandavision. I want to see Carol act like a character again. I want to see Kamala be where she is strongest. As much as I don't like Wandavisions involvement with Monica, I just want to see Monica have motivations.
6/10 is the highest I can give it. Other than I enjoyed it, I don't know how to describe my feelings towards this movie. I don't want to. Guys, I really tried to love this movie, but I can't.

CONTRARY TO PUBLISHED REVIEWS…
“Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” (aka Aquaman2) is getting bashed by movie critics. I’ve always thought critics were far too easy on the Marvel movies, and excessively negative with DC movies. That’s the case here. I’ve been suffering from Comic book Movie Fatigue (both Marvel and DC) but I can honestly say, I enjoyed Aquaman 2.
I think if you liked the first one, you’ll like the sequel. If you didn’t, you won’t.
I wasn’t too excited when I heard Yahya Abdul-Mateen II was returning as the villain Black Manta. The character was lame the first time but there was a little improvement this time around. (But he ultimately comes across stupid).
But the core of the movie was about Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and his half brother Orm (Patrick Wilson). In the first film, Orm was a villain but showed signs of redemption at the end. This movie continues his story arc, as Orm is forced to buddy-up with Aquaman to try and save the world. The bro-bonding is frequently played for laughs but I thought it worked. And the humor worked within the context of the larger story (unlike Thor Love and Thunder which was tonally a mess).
Fan of that actor accused of beating his wife had campaigned to get Amber Heard fired from the sequel. I liked Heard as Mera (although her hair color is a little strange). Mera played an important role in the story. Good for her.
In an early trailer some of the effects looked bad but I didn’t see any problem in the actual film. Atlantis looks great as in the first movie.
I especially liked Aquaman’s two undersea friends who were added to the cast: Storm, the giant seahorse that Aquaman rides into battle; and Topo the octopus but in this case, not just a name but also a designation: "He's a Tactical Observation and Pursuit Operative”.
While the DCEU had problems under director/producer Zack Snyder dark vision, I think both Wonder Woman films and both Aquaman films are worthy additions to the genre. (And for what it’s worth, I also liked Ezra Miller’s Flash movie.)

Portal to My Heart (Book 1) Alternate Chapter Six
Loki x Reader
Alternate Chapter Six: Into the Original Timeline
Summary: What if instead of escaping the timeline and becoming variants, (Y/N) and Loki continued on their path in the original timeline?
Author's Note: Welcome to my Alternate (or really Original) Timeline Loki x Reader. I'm going to start a book that follows the original Thor: Dark World, Thor: Ragnarok, and Avengers Infinity War timeline of the Marvel universe to show what would have happened between Loki and the MC if they hadn't gone to the TVA and such. Fair warning, as my Book 2 showed, it will not have a happy ending, so just know you're not going to be necessarily satisfied. But we have the LOKI series to keep the romance going! And now, without further ado, what could/would have been:
(Y/N) could hear the fight continuing outside. She could see Chitauri and their strange tank creatures flying by. She could see flames and smoke from destroyed buildings. She hated to think about the lives lost in the battle. (Y/N) sighed. She hoped it would be over soon with the “Avengers” the victors.
Suddenly, the sky outside went dark. Storm clouds rolled in. Lightning crackled above. Then, lightning crackled down the Empire State Building. It was then redirected, undoubtedly by Thor, over Stark Tower. (Y/N) guessed it was probably to hit the Chitauri coming out from the portal.
After that, relatively clear skies returned. Screams and explosions were all (Y/N) could hear. She despised it, but there was no safe way of getting down from the tower, nor could she really help. So, she decided to have a little bit of fun during the possible end of the world. Stark’s bar was pretty out of the way, so (Y/N) sat down behind it so people couldn’t see here and had a drink.
Cheers to the end of the world, thought (Y/N), toasting to herself. She was alone with her thoughts. They were clouded with thoughts of Loki. She was curious about what he was really like, beyond whatever was controlling him. (Y/N) had felt how the scepter wanted to influence her, whispering without words about how much power and revenge it could bring her, magnifying her negative feelings. She wondered how much of what he was doing was him, and how much was the scepter. Loki possessed it for much longer than the minutes she held it. Who knew how much his mind was twisted? Granted, (Y/N) knew he definitely had some mischievous tendencies and loved power, but she had seen some forms of kindness in him, although only briefly. She wanted to see more since he was very interesting.
Summoned by her thoughts, she heard a crash on the balcony outside. Peeking over the bar, she saw Loki standing up angrily. His helmet had been knocked off. He was about to attack when the Hulk slammed him through the remaining windows of Stark Tower’s top floor. (Y/N) winced at the force by which Loki hit the wall and then the floor. Hulk roared and approached the raven-haired man.
“Enough!” cried Loki furiously, standing up. “You are, all of you, beneath me! I am a god, you dull creature. And I will not be bullied by—.”
Hulk grabbed him by the ankle and smashed him repeatedly against the floor. Loki was left on his back in a dent in the ground, groaning.
“Puny god,” huffed Hulk as he left the building.
(Y/N) was deciding whether or not to come out. She watched first as Black Widow dropped down, grabbed the scepter, and left again quickly. She decided not to question it as the assassin was probably helping save the world. Bracing hers
Loki whimpered slightly from the pain.
(Y/N) was deciding whether or not to come out. She watched first as Black Widow dropped down, grabbed the scepter, and left again quickly. She decided not to question it as the assassin was probably helping save the world. Bracing herself slightly for what she would have to deal with, she finished her glass of wine. (Y/N) then grabbed a towel and a bottle of vodka. She walked calmly over to Loki.
“You look like how I feel,” she muttered.
Loki scowled at her. “Spare me your pity.”
(Y/N) rolled her eyes. “No worries, I’m not pitying the guy who’s started a war in New York.”
“Then what are you doing?” questioned Loki.
“You saved me from pain, so I’m saving you from some,” she answered. “Don’t tell anyone I did this, and I won’t tell anyone what you did.”
            “Very well,” said Loki.
(Y/N) poured the vodka onto the towel and began dabbing into onto the trickster’s forehead where many wounds were. He hissed slightly at the sensation, but (Y/N) continued. No words were spoken between them. Both were planning on never speaking about this. In fact, if Loki lost, which it very much seemed he would, they were probably never going to speak again in their lives. (Y/N) and Loki were both disappointed since they had found someone interesting that brought some excitement into life, but neither would admit that. So, they contented themselves with silence, resigning to push away the emotions that they didn’t like.
“There,” said (Y/N), finishing. She looked outside and saw Chitauri falling to the ground from where they had been flying. They all seemed to be “shutting off,” if living beings could do that. “It’s over.”
“I’ve lost,” said Loki, growling slightly.
“We did warn you,” said (Y/N), “And now you’re going to pay for your crimes. Have fun!” She stood and placed the alcohol bottle back in the bar.
Loki smirked up at her. “If there’s one thing you should remember of me, it is that I rarely allow others to determine my future.”
She turned back to him and nodded. “True, you did spend quite a bit of effort ridding yourself of the scepter’s control.”
“And as usual, my efforts yielded results,” said Loki.
“Well, I suppose I should congratulate you,” remarked (Y/N), smirking, “But I’m afraid you’re about to be rather disappointed.” She saw the Avengers landing on the balcony.
“Oh, joy,” said Loki sarcastically. He dragged himself up the stairs before turning around. He looked up at the group of heroes who were looking down at him threateningly. “If it’s all the same to you, I’ll have that drink now,” said Loki cheekily.
            The Avengers looked unamused.
(Y/N), on the other hand, snorted. “Good luck with that. Most of the bottles and glasses are destroyed.”
“All right, get him on his feet,” said Iron Man, “We can all stand around posing up a storm later.” He glanced back at Loki. “By the way, feel free to clean up.”
Loki’s hands were chained, and Thor stood by him so he couldn’t run off.
“Who gets the, uh, magic wand?” asked Romanoff.
“STRIKE team’s coming to secure it,” said Rogers.
SHIELD agents began to stream in. Some were doctors and walked over to (Y/N), but she waved them off. She had enough of people being all up in her business for today.
“We can take that off your hands,” said one agent to Black widow. (Y/N) thought his name might be Sitwell.
Black Widow handed it over, and Sitwell looked at it in awe.
“Don’t mess around with that thing,” advised (Y/N).
“Yeah, unless you want your mind erased,” said Barton, taking a drink he stole from the bar.
“And not in the fun way,” said (Y/N).
“We promise to be careful.” Sitwell placed the scepter in a silver case.
Captain America pressed his earpiece. “On my way down to coordinate search-and-rescue.”
Loki rolled his eyes and transformed into the Captain. “ ‘On my way down to coordinate search-and-rescue.’ ” He transformed back. “I mean, honestly, how do you keep your food down?”
Thor took out a small device that then expanded. It was a muzzle, which he then placed on Loki’s mouth. “Shut up.”
(Y/N) snickered at Loki’s face and followed everyone to the elevator. She just wanted to go home and sleep for days. Unfortunately, now she had to deal with being right next to Loki and a bunch of SHIELD agents.
Carrying a silver briefcase with the Tesseract in it, Stark was the last to get into the elevator after the SHIELD agents sent it back up. Behind him, Hulk attempted to get in.
            “Whoa, whoa, whoa,” said Thor.
“Hey, hey. Buddy!” said Stark. “What do you think? Maximum occupancy has been reached.”
The doors began to slide closed as Hulk growled.
            “Take the stairs,” advised Hawkeye.
            “Yeah,” said Stark.
            Hulk was getting annoyed.
If I have to deal with a brawl with the Hulk, I’m running away to a random island where none of this shit will bother me again, thought (Y/N).
“Stop, stop,” said Stark as Hulk raised a fist.
Too late. As the doors closed, Hulk dented them.
“Oh, come on,” said Stark, exasperated.
(Y/N) raised an eyebrow at the dent. “I would hate to get hit by that.”
Loki glared at her, but she just smiled innocently at him. The elevator dinged, and the doors slid open. They all walked out into Stark Tower’s lobby. Six armed guards remained on either side of Loki, and most of the other avoided being near him, but (Y/N) didn’t care. She was right in front of him while Stark and Thor walked farther up. They halted in front of some SHIELD higher-ups, including Mr. Pierce. (Y/N) found him as disgusting as every other government official, especially since he always looked out for himself more than the good of the people.
“Uh, may I ask you where you’re going?” questioned Pierce.
“Bit of lunch and then Asgard,” said Thor. “I’m sorry, you are…?”
“Alexander Pierce,” answered Stark, “He’s the man above the folks behind Nick Fury.”
            “Oh,” said Thor in realization.
“My friends call me Mr. Secretary,” said Pierce.
“More like Mr. Suspicious,” muttered (Y/N).
The guards to either side didn’t hear her, but Loki’s eyes crinkled in a smile that couldn’t be seen because of his muzzle.
“I’m going to have to ask you to turn that prisoner and the girl over to me,” said Pierce.
“Excuse me?” questioned (Y/N), crossing her arms and raising an eyebrow.
“We were recording as much as we could of Loki in Stark Tower. You gave off some strong energy similar to the Tesseract,” said Pierce.
            Shit, thought (Y/N), sighing.
Thor and Stark turned to her, and she shrugged casually. There was no point in denying what she’d done if there was proof.
“We are going to investigate what caused it,” said Pierce.
“By experimenting on me?” (Y/N) raised an eyebrow challengingly.
“You will just be participating in some tests,” replied Pierce.
Thor butted in. “Loki will be answering to Odin himself, and Asgard has knowledge beyond Earth’s. We would be able to help Lady (Y/N) there.”
“No, he’s going to answer to us. Odin can have what’s left. And she will be perfectly fine in our care,” said Pierce.
Care my ass. You’re going to turn me into a brainwashed weapon who will do all your dirty work.
Loki and (Y/N) simultaneously rolled their eyes.
“And I’m going to need that case,” said Pierce, glancing down at the Tesseract’s container. “That’s been SHIELD’s property for over seventy years.”
One of Pierce’s associates tried to take the case from Stark, who pushed him back.
“Hand over the case, Stark,” ordered Pierce.
Thor and Stark put up a hand to keep the government officials back.
“I’m not gonna argue who’s the higher authority here,” said Stark.
“I need the case,” enunciated Pierce.
“I know you’ve got a lot of pull, I’m just saying, jurisdiction…” said Stark.
“Okay, then give me the case,” said Pierce, becoming annoyed. He grabbed the case’s handle.
“Well, jurisdiction…” The billionaire tightened his hold, even as multiple agents tried to take it from him.
“Hand it over,” ordered an agent.
“Get your hands off me!” exclaimed Stark.
Before Pierce or Stark could further argue, Thor plucked the suitcase out of Stark’s hands. Everyone’s eyes went to the tall, muscular man.
“This will return to Asgard. My people will guard it properly,” said Thor.
No one was about to argue with the god.
“Fine.” The words came out sharply from Pierce, frustrated at having been thwarted but knowing he didn’t have the power at the moment to challenge Thor. He turned to (Y/N), and she narrowed her eyes. “So, you have your prisoner and your artifact. We’ll be leaving with Miss (Y/N) in order to discuss the strange power surges we sensed during the battle.”
No thanks, no way in Hell, thought (Y/N). And so she turned to Thor and smiled. “Actually, I’d like to learn what Asgard’s knowledge on such power is. They clearly have more experience than Earth does.”
Loki nearly snorted with laughter at how sickly-sweet (Y/N) was being. (Y/N) glared at him with a look that said “don’t-mess-this-up-this-is-my-ticket-out.”
Thor didn’t notice the exchanged and grinned. “What a fine idea, Lady (Y/N)! I’m glad you agree!” He smiled at Stark, Pierce, and the rest of the mortals. “Well, then, we’ll be heading off!”
“Do not do that disappearing-portal-thing in the middle of my building,” said Stark. “It’s been through enough already. Pepper’s gonna kill me about the remodeling costs.”
“The park is big enough,” said Captain America.
“Excellent!” Thor grabbed Loki and hauled him with him.
(Y/N) smirked at Pierce before following them out. She had no idea what she was about to step into, but if it meant getting out of Pierce and SHIELD’s control and having some autonomy, then (Y/N) was going to take the opportunity. She was going to find freedom.
(But seriously, did it have to involve god politics?)

Essential Avengers: Avengers #315: DOOMSDAY PLUS ONE!
Tumblr media
March, 1990
Guest-starring the Amazing SPIDER-MAN! The enemy REVEALED -- WHILE A UNIVERSE TREMBLES!
Is Nebula auditioning for a Bond movie poster? What's with the ass shot?
Also, we're still really slapping SPIDER-MAN prominently on the cover. I wonder if this story arc got a sales boost. Because it really is trying for one.
And not to nitpick but "the enemy revealed" when we already know Nebula's flimsy grasp of science was behind the universe vanishing. And how can a universe trembles when the universe has vanished?
Dammit, cover text! Get your story straight!
So, last times in Avengers: the Avengers were cleaning up after Acts of Vengeance when bouts of photo-negativity kept hitting the universe. While Iron Man and Vision went to investigate a weird call from Starfox, Thor and Spider-Man came into the Avengers Subbasement just in time for a series of photo-negativity strikes. Sersi used her Eternal powers to shield the room from the effects. Then, the Avengers discovered that everything outside of that one room had ceased to exist.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Captain America: "The whole universe has... vanished!!" Thor: "Say it is not so, Avenger! The son of Odin in his time hath stood upon the very brink of Ragnarok but ne'er hath such dark words been said!" Captain America: "See for yourself, Thor! This long range scanner shows the area of deep space immediately beyond Earth's Moon... At least, that's what it usually shows. Now there's... nothing!"
I wonder what DOOMSDAY PLUS ONE means in this context. Plus one what? Plus another doomsday? Plus another day?
I also wonder how all the instruments of the room are working without being connected to the greater sub-basement. Were the scanners and cameras located just within this square chunk of room? There wasn't anything on the surface? That doesn't make sense for an underground base...
I wouldn't bother thinking about it except the fact that the heroes only have the oxygen in this very specific room and no more invites one to think about the logistics of this.
A neat little touch is that endless nothingness isn't actually a white void. That's just the best man-made mechanisms can do at showing nothing.
The Avengers are feeling pretty defeatist in the face of the entire universe being gone. Understandably enough.
Captain America: "I've spent all my life surviving, first as a boy growing up in New York's lower east side, then as America's first and only super-soldier battling the Nazis in World War Two... finally as a member of the Avengers. But this... I don't want to sound like a quitter, but I have no idea how to deal with this!" Thor: "Nor have I, brave Captain -- and Thor hath lived a thousand times beyond thy mortal lifetime..."
Then, very special guest star, Spider-Man, gets a brilliant idea. He's the very special guest star so obviously, he's got to be pulling his weight.
Spidey knows a thing or two about cameras and Cap said the long range scanners weren't showing anything. What if they were missing something closer?
So he adjusts the depth of focus and zooms out (how do the scanners do this?) to see if there was something they just couldn't see because of how close it was.
"The way dust doesn't register on a normal camera lens..."
Tumblr media
And bingo bango Bob's your mother's brother, another chunk of something floating in the endless void. A building floating about where New Jersey was labelled PolyDyne Industries.
Cap goes to check PolyDyne in the computer banks but ruh roh the computers aren't in this floating cube of Avengers Subbasement.
Sersi recovers from the strain of protecting the cube and suggests she can telepathically scan the PolyDyne sphere and find out if anyone is over there.
She tries to warn Cap that there could be danger to doing this but Cap insists. At this point, they have no choice but to try anything!
Sersi scans and then yells NO-OHHH!! and curls into the fetal position.
So her psychic abilities are about as useful as Jean in the 90s X-Men show. Zing.
Thor points out that a similar thing happened when she scanned the Negative Zone in Avengers #304. So basically, how do we keep an overpowered Eternal character like Sersi balanced?
This, I guess.
Tumblr media
She's so ruffled that she forgets English so can't even warn the Avengers that she sensed a great EVIL at the center of the emptiness.
I guess that Thor knowing Allspeak hasn't been established yet. Or has been forgotten.
Thor can speak and understand every language. He gets Cipher's entire mutant power as a racial bonus
Ain't it sad, Cipher?
Jarvis, the most humany person here, notes that the air is getting stale.
Cap apparently has a "super-efficient bio-system" so he's better at breathing than a normal person. But even he can tell that the air is getting heavy on carbon dioxide.
This room only has this room's amount of air in it. It doesn't have extra air tanks or a carbon dioxide scrubber installed. Why would it? Under what circumstances would just this one communications room of the Avengers Subbasement get launched into an airless void??
I mean, except these circumstances. These are a bit unprecedented though.
But now that there's Something the Avengers can do, Cap isn't giving up.
Captain America: "If I've learned nothing else in my years of battle, I've learned the absolute truth of one old saying: While there's life, there's hope!"
Over at PolyDyne, everybody floats around in unconscious poses.
Nebula regains her wits first and marvels at the power contained in the compressor.
Nebula: "The power! Never in my wildest dreams have I anticipated such power! It crackles still about the compressor! It surges through my flesh like a thing alive! Even mighty gravity seems twisted by it!"
She tries to contact Gunthar the Rigellian on her mothership but he's not responding.
Then she looks outside the window and sees only the VOID.
Tumblr media
Bit of a nitpick but after the explanation that the empty white void is the best human instruments could do to show absolute nothingness, I was hoping that seeing it with eyeballs would have a different effect.
Eyes lie to the brain, y'know.
Ah, well.
The story already settled on empty white void and its made for some striking splash pages.
Nebula floats over and starts yelling at Professor Harker to EXPLAIN.
Professor Harker: "It can only be a genesis pulse! There was always a danger of this, but it seemed so remote as to be beyond the need for considering! What my compressor does is concentrate the force of a one megaton nuclear explosion into an area smaller than the nucleus of an atom! In theory, this should release a vast quantity of usable energy. However, there was a small chance it might duplicate the effect of the Big Bang... create a new universe in the midst of the old..."
How small a chance is too big a risk that a science project might destroy the world? Just based on Mr. Destroy The Universe's project, I might say a non-zero chance but we've had a lot of particle acceleration since this was published and the universe seems fine.
Nebula slaps him and yells that obviously that thing he just described would destroy both the new universe and the original! Now she has PHENOMENAL COSMIC POWER at her fingertips and no universe to become absolute ruler of!
ALSO, SOME AVENGERS JUST BUSTED IN SO SHE'S ALSO ANGRY ABOUT THAT NOW!
Tumblr media
I have to say... The Avengers (and Spider-Man) had no idea they'd be busting into the PolyDyne building right where the baddie was so this isn't an "Ultron, we would have words with thee" badass entrance. They just kinda blow their way in, glue the Avengers communications room in place so it doesn't drift, and then go 'oh hey Nebula is here, now this makes sense.'
Although, Spider-Man hasn't run into Nebula so mistakes her for Andromeda. Do all blue ladies look alike to you, Spidey?
Thor asks how Nebula managed to escape that time vortex she fell into with Dr Druid, as seen in issue 297.
And Nebula's answer?
She has no fucking idea what he's talking about. She thinks he's making up nonsense just to distract her.
Ah, so, the retcon goes even this far back.
While Captain America and Thor are safe thanks to their shield and spinning Mjolnir respectively, Spider-Man has to dodge and jump around in zero gravity while Nebula shoots ray blasts at the Avengers and Spider-Man.
Captain America throws his mighty shield... which Nebula easily deflects. BUT IT WAS A FEINT. While she was doing that, Thor spins harder and kicks up a wind which blows Nebula into a bulkhead.
She manages to peel herself and blast Thor off-balance. Spider-Man gunks up her wrist-mounted ray blasters and tries to grapple her but she tosses him away.
And while Spider-Man is distracting Nebula by being his usual charming and/or irritating self, Captain America and Thor wander off to examine the compressor.
Cap is guessing that the big, glowing energy thing is what made the universe go away. But he doesn't have the science brain to know what to do about it.
He asks Thor to try to dissipate the energy in the compressor but it's just too much for the god of thunder.
Thor has to release the energies or else explode "as would a mighty oak struck low by lightning."
Meanwhile, Professor Harker crawls out from behind a chunk of dislodged lab equipment and tells Spider-Man the heroes have the wrong idea.
But before he can explain to the Avengers how to deactivate the compressor, Nebula blows him up.
Tumblr media
Okay, but why?
Nebula, did you firmly clutch the villain ball in hand? Do you want the universe to not exist? Shouldn't you want this problem to be fixed too?
Idiot.
And weirdly a pointless death.
Captain America just switches to talking to the next nearest dude, a PolyDyne employee with red hair and a beard. And this random guy, who I don't think even has a name, is able to deliver the same exposition as Professor Harker.
It's not like it's played for tension. Professor Harker blows up and then on the same page Cap is like 'hey you' to the beard guy.
So I don't really get the point of killing Professor Harker. Nebula should want to restore the universe as much as anyone. And killing the guy didn't stop the relevant exposition from getting delivered immediately.
Weird. Weird writing choice.
Random Guy tells Cap that the compressor will be self-sustaining once it reaches 100% efficiency but until then, it's reliant on power from generators in the sub-basement.
But its crazy to try to unplug it! There's such an intense electromagnetic field around the compressor!
Guy: "There's no force on Earth that could break that connection!" Captain America: "Maybe not... but we're not on Earth any more!"
That's... That's a weird argument to make, Cap.
Granted, he also argues that they've got no other choice but to try.
Cap gets as close to the compressor as he can, even as the field makes him feel like he's got ants crawling around inside him. He can only hope that the super-soldier serum will protect him long enough to get the job done. But he's sure if he comes out of this alive, he'll be lucky if all this exposure to a powerful magnetic field doesn't permanently damage him.
He reeeeaches but he just can't get to the giant power cable.
Luckily, Spider-Man saw what he was doing and comes over to ask what the hell he's doing.
When Cap explains that they need to pull the plug ASAP, Spider-Man decides this looks like a guest starring role for Spider-Man.
His webbing is non-organic and non-conductive, thanks to tangling with Electro so often.
He thwipppts a webline on the giant cable and
PULLS
AS
HARD
AS
HE
CAN
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like lift heavy thing except with pulling.
Spider-Man's specialty.
So thanks to Spider-Man pulling something really, really hard, the universe is back.
... I wonder if the Avengers Communications Room is still webbed to the side of the PolyDyne building. I honestly hope so.
So with everything restored to normal, Captain America does his best to put a logical explanation on this.
Captain America: "Apparently, the... ah... 'genesis pulse' had only thrown the universe into a state of complete neutrality. It needed to reach maximum power to completely annihilate everything."
How did you reach that conclusion, Cap?
Anyway, Sersi has recovered from holding the communications room together and then scanning the void. She's telepathically scanned the entire world and determined no time passed while they were in the white void.
The whole story happened between two ticks of the clock.
Spider-Man's take-away is that they just saved the world and nobody will ever know!
(Jarvis says, hey, we'll know! Jarvis is a good guy.)
Apparently, Nebula vanished while everyone was distracted by the universe and gravity being back.
But Captain America remembers that Iron Man and Vision went to investigate her ship and thinks she's going to be in for a nasty surprise when she gets there.
So, apparently this saga still continues. The next issue is teased as "SPIDERS and STARS" so I'll bet next time has "Guest-starring the Amazing Spider-Man" slapped prominently on the cover.
But before that, we switch back over to Avengers West Coast to continue the Wanda Is Evil And Crazy story.
yay.
Follow @essential-avengers because this issue was actually pretty fun. Like, reblog, comment, or dance like nobody is watching.

Apparently, I watched phase one of marvel so now we're onto phase two. Let's go!
Iron Man 3: Oh Stark is a jerk. We already knew this, but like that really is a low blow to go out of your way to tell someone you're going to do something then not do it. Not from personal experience of course... *sighs* I enjoyed this. I really did. Way better than the first movie, but I think I like it a smidge better than the sequel. I prefer the sequel'a villain though because it felt more valid. But also if someone left me on the roof, I would want to fight them too. I don't like the arc reactor being taken away. I know this universe continues and I felt like the arc reactor protected him against Loki. I don't know. Also the kid, I really liked him. When kids are in movies, I tense up because it'll either be done really well or really bad. In this case, the boy acted his little heart out. Onto the next movie!
Thor The Dark World: BORING. SNOOZEFEST. I really tried here guys. I watched the movie. Sure the realms lore and the antagonists are interesting I guess, but Thor and his story is just boring. If Taika "ruined the Thor franchise" with the newest Thor film, it has to be the worst movie ever written. This one and the first are the only ones I've actively disliked so far.
Captain America Winter Soldier: Okay we should be back in the good world. Maybe I'll understand the bucky x steve ship with this one. I have higher hope for this because generally after a boring one Marvel gives you a good movie. This is where the "you know me" "no I don't" meme comes from??? I liked this one a lot. This is better than all the Iron Man movies and Avengers. This is really good. I didn't expect much since I wasn't really a fan of the first film, but this had me immersed from beginning to end. I expected Captain America to be reunited with his old friend Bucky so it was interesting that didn't happen. I'm excited about the twins! I'm thinking... It's someone that has become popular in these last couple of years. But don't tell me!
Guardians of the Galaxy: Yeah I'm not wasting my time on this one
Avengers Age of Ultron: I just really HATE that they feel the need to make a romance film out of everything. I want superheroes. Not everyone needs to be in a relationship. Give it a break. But I'm enjoying the philosophical questions this movie is breaking. Also at first, I felt like the characters were flat now I'm starting to see their dimensions. The twins were interesting characters and the stark weapons showed up again. This is what I talk about when people apologize for their actions. Yes you can genuinely feel sorry, but your actions still affected people in real life at the end of the day. You can't blame anyone for the grudges they hold or the lack of forgiveness when they were negatively affected by you. I liked the antagonist in this one and also his death was pretty cool (some of the villains deaths were kinda corny ngl). Not my favorite of the avengers movie mostly because of the whole relationship thing that took up too much of the movie in my opinion especially when I didn't care. Also the "fine I'll do it myself" meme!
Ant Man: Skipping this one too for now

You idiots are that dense and really think Ragnarok said loki is evil just because u hate that movie that much because u prefer the dark world? Wow ridiculous
loll. love how it's "idiots" plural here. i've been assigned plural pronouns by an anon. nonny, i know that my name on here has 3 in it but I am actually just one (1) idiot singular.
I don't think TR is bad bc I prefer TDW. I prefer TDW bc I think TR is bad. why would I come up with a preference first and then retroactively come up with reasons 2 justify it? that doesn't make sense.
as for the substance of your complaint (is it a complaint? I'm not really sure what response ur looking for here. i don't have a customer service line where i can apologize for having the wrong film preferences and refund the time u spent reading my blog. so uh sorry about that), I think TR is problematic for a number of reasons and portrays the characters in a very OOC way. it also systematically degrades and denigrates Loki's character and retcons his backstory (tho it's not nearly as awful as the Loki TV series).
it presents him in a consistently negative light and retcons him to have always been power hungry and shallow and treacherous when that wasn't the case in earlier movies. it presents loki as someone who has consistently been cruel and duplicitous to Thor for no reason and presents his grievances as petty and unfounded. it presents Thor as justified for standing over Loki and torturing him (which wouldn't be ok even if Loki WAS purely evil) and presents everything Thor says to him in that scene as a true and just summation of his character.
@nikkoliferous has compiled a compendium which goes thru the issues with TR much more thoroughly than I can do here. I also HIGHLY recommend the essay What Heroes Do: Queer-Coding, Slut-Shaming, and Heroism on a Trash Planet by @illwynd and @incredifishface  to anyone who is interested. Anon, I know you weren't looking for reading recs (I don't think) but I do suggest you take a look at these. it might help you understand some of the issues ppl have with TR and maybe make you view those of us who disliked it as people with complex and diverse opinions that are grounded in our experiences and perceptions rather than just in a blind desire to hate on something you like to spite you or something.

SteveTony Weekly - Oct 23
Tumblr media
Welcome back! I didn’t read as much as I wanted this week, but there’s some delicious stories here.
***Marks my recent favorites
~*~
Gold Standard by hailtherandom
Thor brings home some Asgardian mead as a present to the Avengers. Steve discovers that its magical properties allow him to get drunk. Everyone, especially Tony, is a fan of this.
for whom the elk bugles by starksnack
Pepper forces Tony to spend a week at Yellowstone connecting with his natural side. He connects with Park Ranger Steve Rogers instead.
Everyone I Have Ever Slept With by jellybeanforest
Intimacy takes on many forms, not all of them sexual.
Steve being taken care of is just. Very soft and I love it.
I'm Afraid You're Never Satisfied
It was no secret that Omegas loved to be knotted. But Steve loved it a bit more than most, especially with Tony doing the knotting.
Needy Steve, and Tony being so very good to him. Just short and smutty
Vibing Hard by KandiSheek
Steve's health issues have kept him from having sex or even masturbating all throughout his early years. So when he gets the serum and experiences orgasm for the first time, he veers hard onto the path of addiction. He jerks off so much that it's starting to interfere with his day to day life. Luckily Tony is right there to help him get his life back on track.
Size Doesn't Matter by izazov
An incident results in Steve reverting to his pre-serum body. It may be the worst thing that has happened to Tony Stark. Or the best.
I really love Steve being insecure. It’s one of my favorite things and it’s usually not something we see.
After All of the Sparks [You're Still Alone in the Dark] by BewareTheIdes15
Tony has always struggled with the concepts of positive versus negative attention.
Ahh, Steve taking control and taking care of a self-destructive Tony.
***Same old story. by orphan_account
“We’re toasting our regrets,” Tony explains. “Your turn."
“Oh,” Steve says.
It takes him a long minute to think of something. Or, more likely, it takes him a long moment to work up the courage. But then he turns and raises his bottle to Tony. Looks him dead in the eyes, a sad, sort of wistful smile on his face, and says, “You.”
Post Endgame, Tony and Steve find each other in the best way possible.
looks like rain, dear by starksnack
Tony's a famous actor who's just had a major controversy hits the news and his manager decides he needs to get off the grid for a while, so she sends him to Alaska - cue Tony trying to be incognito and learn how to live in the middle of the frozen nowhere while dealing with his feelings for the most eligible bearded bachelor in the area, Steve.
It’s very Hallmark romance, but super cute and well done.
Earth's Mightiest Tree Farm by kaceywithak
In the six months he had become sole guardian to his nine year old nephew Peter, Tony Stark hadn't done much right. So when Peter asks to go upstate to tag a Christmas Tree, Tony quickly says yes.
Enter Tree Farm owner Steve Rogers, the world's sexiest lumberjack with a smile that could probably stop a war.
It really is the most wonderful time of the year.
Emergency Protocol by laireshi
Falling in love with Tony Stark has always been easy. That he's an artificial intelligence now changes nothing. Luckily, Tony will always catch him.
All Of You by tinystark616
Steve Rogers is good at everything he does. That's a fact — one that no one will ever argue against. But oh, if only they knew how good Steve Rogers is in bed.
Luckily, Tony is the only one who knows.
***Toy Soldiers by copperbadge
When Steve Rogers, five foot four and a hundred and ten pounds, met Tony Stark in a bar, he didn't expect it to lead to a relationship. Or that Tony would find out he's not an art student during a SHIELD rescue mission in Afghanistan.
I’m a big fan of this series, and how fierce and protective Steve is of Tony.
Weighing of the Heart by scifigrl47
Steve Rogers hasn't really had a particularly easy life. He's struggled along, he's proud of himself, he's self-sufficient and capable and he works damn hard. He has friends and a purpose and he's only a few semesters from graduating college. He's managed, but his life has been far from easy.
That's mostly because of a slight filing error.
The last thing that Steve needed was someone to watch over him. The only thing that his Guardian Angel needs is a second chance to make a first impression.
Guardian Angel Tony is something I didn’t know I needed, but--it’s fantastic. The worldbuilding is excellently done.
Rebuild by Anonymous
The first time Tony really notices that something’s up with Steve is- okay, to be honest it’s five seconds after seeing the guy again, come on, Tony has spent the latter of his life being the dictionary definition of hot mess, he recognizes a kindred spirit.
Or, the one where Tony is, for the first time in his life, one of the least screwed up members of the team.
Just team dynamics and Tony being slightly less messy than normal.
***Truth Behind Masks by scifigrl47
Steve Rogers has plenty of friends. He just doesn't know two of them are the same man.
That's just how Tony Stark/Iron Man likes it. Until he comes to regret it.
I really enjoyed this--identity porn is a favorite trope of mine, and this one handled it so well.

Marvel's Injustice.
My pitches for NRS inevitable Marvel game if they go the Injustice route.
Game titles
Marvel:Disassembled
Marvel:Dark Reign
Avengeance:Fall Of Midgard
Story ideas.
Scenario 1. Disassembled. Tony Stark's suit of armor around the world phase goes into complete and full effect. Get the right event to trigger it and I think Tony could be sent into Superman mode where he establishes a regime for the world’s protection. Tony takes full control of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the world by force. Captain America would rise up and lead a band full of heroes who are willing to do what's right and stop Tony Stark and the regime. Final boss fight. We choose between either Cap or Iron Man. If we choose Cap, then we fight Superior Iron Man, if we choose Iron Man, then Cap.
Scenario 2. Avengeance:Fall Of Midgard. human like Norman Osborn or Red Skull sneaking into Asgard with Loki’s help to kill Odin and Lady Sif. Events would manipulate the death of Jane Foster. Blaming Asgard and Midgard for not dealing with Loki and his associates for their many schemes, Thor decides to make changes. Thor is broken and the once Mighty son of Odin, turns back to his old ways and becomes a despotic king of Asgard. Thor wages war on Midgard. Years later Thor has taken over the entire world as well as Asgard, and rules it with an iron fist. Villains that don’t agree with him or opposes him are seen as threats are sent to the negative zone. All mutants are forced to register to work for the regime or be depowered permanently and imprisoned. Final boss fight is Odinforce Thor.
Scenario 3. Dark Reign. The Skrull Royal Family, escaping from the Mad Titan Thanos, strikes a deal with Norman Osborne to conquer Earth in a secret invasion. Queen Veranke of the Skrulls kidnaps and poses as the Scarlet Witch to destroy the Avengers from within. In the chaos, Norman betrays the aliens in order to get his hands on their technology. He is able to place his own Dark Avengers as the new Earth's Mightiest Heroes with the aid of Loki's illusions. Loki manipulates Norman to lead a siege of Asgard using advanced Skrull weapons. The Avengers must reunite along with new heroes to topple Osborne and Loki's Dark Reign once and for all. Post-Credits Scene: As Loki's manipulations come crashing down, he pulls a last ditch effort and influences the traumatized Wanda to use her reality-warping powers. He forces her to say the 3 words "No more heroes". Final boss fight. Iron Patriot.

top 5 WORST MOVIES EVER!!!
Uh oh um. So I gotta say that I'm not that much of a cinephile or a hater when it comes to movies because I watch the vast majority of them with friends and that improves my watching experience greatly. That being said I think I do have 5 movies that I have beef with (might be controversial)
1. Starting off with BATTLE ROYALE (2000) I don't care this movie sucks and I have a personal vendetta against it. I was 15 years old, watching and overanalysing squid game because I liked it, enjoying life, when my dad came to me and started full on SHITTING on the squid and saying how it SUCKS BALLS AND ASS and that it's a CHEAP COPY OF BATTLE ROYALE and that he's disappointed in me because I'm such a smart girl and I'm enjoying such a trash show. So I was really angry because wtf he tore my hyperfixation apart and so I watched battle royale out of spite and God......... I did not enjoy it in the slightest and I still harvest nothing but negative feelings towards it. From what I can remember the characters were Nothing, the action was disappointing, the point was made 10 minutes in and the rest was filled with nonsense. I don't care for the themes of this movie and I don't want to make sense of them. I was just angry at my dad for saying I'm stupid and then directing me to a movie that doesn't even have a single character with a compelling motivation that i care about and shoves relationship talk in the middle without it being rewarding in the slightest.
2. Queen Margot 1994. Sorry I'm trying to enjoy the story without incest porn in the middle but this movie doesn't let me
3. Thor the dark world... Thor is my favourite avenger and ragnarok is my favourite mcu movie so I don't like the direction of this one very much. I just think that Thor and Jane don't work in the first two movies and basing Thors entire motivation on her when the relationship is not very compelling in the first place is not a good recipe for a movie. Loki felt much more like the main character and I already forgot who the villain and what the plot was. Ragnarok is the only good Thor movie 😔
4. Ummmm red white and royal blue??? Idk I went into it thinking it would be at least funny but it was so shallow and cliche and had the most overused gay archetypes and character arcs and the politics were funny in how they sucked and the main couple just reminded me of Charles and Navarre for some reason and it made me very sad and angry because they had NO CHEMISTRY WHATSOEVER!!!! And. Yea. That's it I guess
5. Ok this is gonna be veryyyy controversial but I did not like the ragad movie at all for the simple reason that I do not see how ragad can be performed in a different medium. Stoppard may have directed it but Roth and Oldmas performances were so unenthusiastic and it lacked what made the actual play so great. I don't know. Maybe I'm missing something but I really don't like this movie and this letterboxd review really sums it up for me

Chapter Summary: Loki and Lillian grow closer as they sort through hidden Aesir and Jötunn history, to save the life of their unborn son.
Smut Rating: 8 (for the cave, okay, wow. 🥵)
The Lapis Cave
Loki’s entire life was in question. Even though he had returned from the edge of ending his known life, he did not yet understand how to live the unknown life that lay before him. Since he could remember, he had always been bawdy, crass, and delighting in the ways he could be a nuisance or challenge the status quo around him. Habits were deeply cut rivers in his life, reactions, and ways of being that protected him. Snake metaphors often filled Loki’s mind.
He had always felt a kinship to the creature that lived both on Midgard and Asgard. The mother serpent ruled the cosmos between the realms, and he felt humbled by its innate power. The snake was one of the only creatures he would ever think to kneel to. Many characteristics from his affinity with snakes formed his presence in his family and amongst his friends. The mottos, strike first before being attacked, and be predictively unpredictable, were the serpent-like qualities that people could comfortably describe Loki with.
For example, he loved to cut off Thor’s naïve perception of the world with a snarky comment. He loved that he felt wiser at times than Odin and never held back quoting famous kings and Asgardian philosophers, especially when Odin was lacking in words himself. Although this only brought negative attention to the young prince and his keen mind.
He relished being more adept in battle than Volstagg. He bested Fandral in nearly every blade match, often leaving his friend injured. Pride was deep and covered his insecurities like the snow from his actual home realm. He never knew where this guarded condition sprang from until now.
He figured he was just what people would label him, and he, in turn, labeled himself in kind. In this way, it was the snake eating its tail. He didn’t intend to become the valiant prince or perhaps even a righteous king now that his life had changed dramatically. Still, he felt he couldn’t be the man he was when he was the charmingly cutting and the distinctively bitter dark prince. Loki also had to consider the consequences of his past relationships and how these fragments of memory were still holding court in his mind.
The truth was he had many lovers in his lifetime, and while sometimes tiresome in their novelty, he relished the attention they gave him. It was some of the only genuine affection he received. He was graced with a certain level of attractiveness that both sexes enjoyed. He was not befitted with his brother’s brawn, but his tall, lean body was muscular. He animated his movements with his deep knowledge of every part of his physical being. No one ever complained about his ample cock or his lovemaking. Loki knew that his attentiveness kept his lovers coming back. This quality about him had its appeal.
Although it seemed that with each lover Loki had, each only saw one part of him. Putting all the pieces together was overwhelming to them. Most didn’t get past his temper or his manipulation. He had drawers full of letters from women and men, trying to “change him.” He knew some of his lovers liked his cock, yet others liked his royal status, and still, others enjoyed his wit, but never all at once. None had wanted to be with all of him. Not until Lillian.
Although Loki wondered about the alchemy of this entire situation. Lillian perhaps would have ended up in the latter category of his other lovers, too, had she not fallen pregnant. This left Loki feeling confused about his ability to trust fully that his life was indeed changing.
Yet there was a new light emerging in his aura. He just couldn’t fully claim it just yet. He had made a decent show of his tenderness, even suggesting to Lillian that they marry. But in his quieter moments, he wondered if that would even be possible. Loki had not discussed anything with his family since the day everything unraveled.
He had simply taken Lillian to his quarters and asked his most trusted aid, Nigel, to send missives back and forth to everyone. He had needed to tend to this emerging light within him. Every day they were hauled up in his room, it changed and grew stronger. Every conversation with her led him down a different path to knowing himself.
By becoming pregnant with his child, this child inheriting his true origin, Lillian now knew him with a totality that was hard to understand, let alone genuinely tell anyone else about. He needed this time to process who he was and begin to take steps into a possible future. He imagined that his son was somehow teaching Lillian about parts of himself he had yet to know through these unconscious and somewhat conscious changes occurring in her body and mind. This completely overwhelmed and yet fascinated him. His bond with Lillian was the unknown.
ooOoo
“How long will we stay locked away like his Loki?” Lillian finally spoke up one sleepy morning as they both lay naked, skin prickly from the breeze rolling in through the open window.
Loki took his large hands and let them roam her body before answering. He could think better when he let his body act first.
“Hmm,” she teased by rolling over to her side and lifting herself up on her elbow.
Lillian knew by now that if she pushed Loki too hard, he would respond unfavorably.
So, she gently waited and enjoyed his fingers finding her body. His hands cupped her fuller breasts, and instead of answering her, he placed his mouth on her nipple, sucking intently. He then let his hands wander to her sex, guiding his thumb over her clit in tormenting circles. His blue eyes flashed, full of distraction. He was clearly avoiding everything outside of the four walls currently housing them.
She was just glad his room had a bathroom...
Lillian closed her eyes and could feel her body responding to his touch, even if what they needed to be having was a real conversation. It had been a week. She rallied her strength of mind against the thought of Loki quickly pulling her on top of him, sliding into her heat with obnoxious ease. So, she sat up, taking every ounce of self-control she had.
“Loki,” Lillian said as she took some fruit off the side table and fed him something she thought looked like a strawberry.
“Talk to me.”
“How can I talk to you when you are naked, and now, you’re feeding me like I’m a baby bird.”
“I’m at your mercy. Do with me what you will, my pet,” Loki’s smolder flashed.
She focused.
“I will ask again, nicely, when are we leaving Loki? We still haven’t spoken to the healers. That is first and foremost before we sort out your family,” she didn’t want to use the baby as an excuse to get him to leave his room, but it was her best shot, and she took it.
“Oh, of course, Lilly, we must see Eir and learn more about your pregnancy. I’m not hiding us away forever. You must know that.”
“How would I know?” she was now letting her doubts inch to the surface.
Loki sat up, fully along with her.
“To tell the truth, I have loved this time with you, Lilly. I can’t think of any better way to begin to understand myself. Sharing more about our child's communication with you helps me know who I am. I don’t know if you can fully grasp this...”
“Loki, we don’t even know if what I am experiencing is information about being a frost giant. We suspect I was drawn to the north because of the baby. We suspect my dreams are giving information about Jötunnheim, but how do we know unless we talk to someone else and find someone civil enough to speak to us about this? We can even talk to your family, Laufey maybe….”
Loki sucked in the room’s air sharply. With that statement, he cut off Lillian. The blade of his tongue lashing at her. The mood in the room swiftly became just what Lillian was dreading.
“I will forget you said that. You overstep.”
“I overstep?” Lilly was floored.
She continued, “Loki, you are the one who has only been talking about Jötunnheim with me this past week. Asking me so many questions about what you think our son knows through his ancestry. Why wouldn’t we go to your biological family and seek further knowledge instead of trying to interpret signals from a fetus! Lest you forget, our child will also need to survive here as a frost giant. We need answers!”
“ENOUGH!” Loki’s face was flushed, he was upset and no longer comfortable with their intimacy. He started to get dressed. Something about putting on his clothes created a barrier to any further questioning, a lame attempt to shield his heart.
Still spewing venom, he couldn’t seem to contain, he said, “Eir and the healers who let’s not forget, you have something against, are in fact very knowledgeable and will be able to guide us through the proper steps, Lillian. To speak to Laufey is to risk the whole realm's safety. I have already told you I will not risk all Asgard for one being, who we don’t even know how they got here!”
Loki had now said too much.
Lillian had tears streaming down her face. The light he practiced holding in his heart was now the size of a dimly lit candle. He didn’t mean what he said.
“Lilly, I am sorry. I know how the baby got here. I didn’t mean to say he is a mistake.”
“No, what you meant to say was that we were a mistake, Loki,” she coldly said, pointing her finger at his chest.
“Is all of this just one of your games? Do you plan on returning to your life as the forgotten prince once this kid gets here? I know you and your father-of-the-year, Odin, said you wouldn’t lock us away somewhere, but how do I even know that you are telling the truth? Isn’t it just as plausible and much easier for you, no doubt, if you just hide us?”
Lillian was sobbing. Between the hormones and the drastic shift in her life, not to mention a week in Loki’s room, her emotions were now so far afield there was no retrieving them.
Loki quickly pulled her to him without thinking, his body again acting first. Lilly did not feel like his arms were the safest place, so she struggled to free herself from him immediately.
“Let me go!” she yelled, prying his fingers off her arm.
“No way, Lilly, not until you stop crying,” the light in his heart was now about the size of an avocado.
“Hush, please, my princess.”
“Do not call me your princess. I am not your princess,” Lillian was astonished by his gall.
“You are, and I am a complete fool, can you forgive me? I have misspoken yet again.”
Lillian continued wrestling him, looking at him she said clearly and sternly, “Just so you know, I am not going to marry you.”
Loki persevered, “okay, don’t marry me, I haven’t officially asked you yet anyway, which is beside the point. In any event, I love you, Lillian.”
She stopped crying and stopped struggling. He had said it. He had gotten close but never said it, at least not without his cock buried deeply inside her.
“Loki, you are just saying this because you don’t want me to be upset. You are probably only worried about your genius progeny I’m gestating.”
“I am worried about him, but that is not why I told you I loved you just now. I do love you, Lillian. You have changed my life. You have given me a reason to be a different man. I don’t know yet who that man is, but I can feel him starting to emerge.”
“Well, this “new Loki” better hurry up, because honestly, this one seems like the same old Loki I met at the solstice ball, who knocked me up while giving me a tour of the royal library.”
With that, Lillian promptly got up and ran to the bathroom.
Her morning sickness was relentless still. Dismayed for a moment, Loki quickly conjured a fluffy pink bathrobe like he had seen on Midgard and ran after her with it between his hands. When he reached her at the toilet, he grabbed her immediately, just as he had instinctively done when she was their prisoner out in the woods, puking in front of his family and friends.
He placed his cool hands on her forehead. Although he was shocked that she didn’t feel warm. She was freezing.
“Lilly, you are frozen. Let me put this robe around you,” he said, rubbing her shoulders and lifting her into the garment. Wordlessly she let him guide her back to the bed. He placed the comforter across her body, gently running his palms across her cheeks.
She seemed happy for the moment, closing her eyes, letting him care for her.
“I wish I could somehow get sick for you,” he mused awkwardly.
“No, you don’t, Loki, trust me.”
“Or at the very least, I wish my magic would help. I hate seeing you like this.”
Lillian smiled. With her eyes still closed, she answered him, “yes, if we go to the healers, maybe we can find out why your magic has a 50% accuracy rate with me.”
Loki thought about this too.
His magic just didn’t work on her very well, and this was from the first contraception spell he cast. He could make her tea better than taking her nausea away with his seiðr.
This was just one of many questions he had. He knew they needed to leave his room and at least talk to Eir. The discussion was tabled for now concerning any contact with his Jötunn family. He just wanted to focus on ensuring Lillian and their baby were healthy. The light in his heart was now the size of a watermelon as he watched her drift off into a nap.
Loki opened his bedroom door and quietly signaled for Nigel. He placed a note in his hand, alerting Eir that they would be coming to see her and the other healers later in the day. He also sent a communique to his mother, letting her know of their plan but asking that no one from the family be around as they journeyed to the healers.
He wasn’t ready for anything more than what was on his plate currently. His new family needed him. Odin’s family could wait.

Part 2
“The cave of what?” Loki repeated what he thought he heard Eir say.
“The cave of Lapis. It’s a stone that is found on Earth,” Eir added more information.
“It is part of Asgard’s mineral composition as well. You need to take Lillian to the cave of Lapis. There is a special ionic quality to the water that will ease her sickness and benefit your child. He isn’t getting enough minerals from our food or water here on Asgard...”
Eir was never wrong, so Loki listened carefully. He looked at Lillian, who immediately felt she had done something wrong. She already had tremendous guilt for drinking alcohol up until she lost consciousness…
“Oh dear, lady Lillian. You haven’t done anything wrong,” Eir said intuitively.
“It’s just that you said he needs more minerals. Maybe I haven’t been eating enough? Or maybe it’s been all my vomiting. Or maybe all the sweets?”
Loki pulled his chair closer to her and wrapped his long arms around her. He nuzzled his face to her ear and whispered. “Eir isn’t saying you did anything wrong, my love. The baby just needs different things because he isn’t from here,” he said sheepishly, with his submerged guilt surfacing as well.
“We already know this, right? We’ve talked about this,” he reminded Lilly.
Eir spoke again, “go to the cave, young ones. You will understand once you get there. It was once a meeting place for Jötunn and Aesir before we were enemies. Jötunn would swim up from the bottom of the water in the cave. Aesir would meet them. The water contains enough molecules to sustain breathing in it. It nourishes the body and the mind,” Eir smiled and sat next to Lillian placing a hand on her shaking leg.
“Okay, I don’t want to hear about Aesir and Jötunn making out underwater in this cave. They are enemies to the crown now. It does not matter what once was,” Loki dismissed Eir’s story with his harsh tone.
Eir looked frustrated, “prince, that isn’t what I was describing. You might need to expand your mind some before entering. The narrowness of it as it is currently, might prohibit your ability to even enter the waters. Have faith.”
In Lillian’s mind, the story Eir told also sounded strange, but she was already accustomed to the stories of the days before the war, and whether it was her unborn son leading her to this knowledge, or just her sense as a journalist, she believed it. It seemed possible the Aesir and the Jötunn once shared information and connected. This cave was proof enough.
ooOoo
“Loki, will you keep an open heart about this?” Lillian inquired as they traveled along the worn path to the location beyond the western mountains.
“I will try.”
She noted that the cave wasn’t much to speak of when they arrived. Lillian had been to many hot springs back on Earth, and they were much more physically remarkable than the small opening surrounded by black basalt-like rock.
“It’s now, or never, I guess,” Lillian said nervously, setting down her bag outside the entrance to the cave.
“Loki, can you go first?” she glanced at him, wondering if he might make up an excuse at the last minute.
“Sure, I am a warrior who has been victorious in many battles far more taxing than this measly Jötunn bathtub!”
Lilly rolled her eyes.
“Then go in already.”
He looked once more all around just to be sure no one had followed them.
He could see his dunce of a brother deployed as a spy to track their whereabouts. Loki was not looking forward to the conversation that loomed about his paternity. It was bad enough Thor found out about the baby the way he did. Loki finally went inside.
The cave's most incredible property was the deep blue lapis lazuli walls that hugged inwards, creating a very intimate atmosphere. He hoped that the Jötunn knew the cave was closed from their side of the realm. It would suck to have a full-size frost giant pop up between his “wife” and himself while they were communing.
He hopped in the warm water quickly. It immediately felt soothing to his skin. He felt it caressing his muscles, he swore he could feel it enter his veins. Loki uttered a deep sigh and offered his long arm to Lilly to help her in after him.
Her body was changing before his eyes. Today, he swore he could see the faint outline of his child growing bigger in Lilly’s strong body. Lifting her down and into his arms, he felt rather romantic.
“Such a gentleman,” she laughed and wrapped her arms around his neck.
“Now we wait.”
“Yes, now we wait for a sign,” she laughed.
Loki returned to the image of a random frost giant coming up from the depths and quickly offered to look around under the water. This gesture was also reassuring for Lillian, who again felt like this was not the kind of bohemian cave she was used to.
His perfect ass dove down about four times before he was satisfied no one else would be joining them. Lillian started to close her eyes, the heat from the water creating a soft cocoon.
She thought of all the times she had seen rune images since coming to Asgard. It was almost as if runes were coming to her now, messaging her. “Wait, wait, Loki, I think I see rune stones, but I don’t know their meaning. Should I try and explain to you?”
She had been so lost in her experience that she failed to look at Loki since he had not moved very much since his diving exhibition. When she opened her eyes, Loki was blue.
He was blue, and his eyes were like red gems.
To say Lillian was stunned would be an understatement.
Ecstatically she yelled, “Loki, Loki, look at your stomach or at your hand. You are blue!”
Loki looked down at his hands in wild disbelief.
He was completely blue.
He felt his head, he now also had a more permanent pair of horns. His body had deep-lined relief markings, like tattoos. Lilly wondered what each line meant and if her baby would also have this kind of remarkable body like Loki was displaying.
“Eir didn’t tell me that it took away my seiðr! This is a pure embarrassment!” Loki said with frustration.
“I’m hideous.”
Lilly was stunned, but she spoke, “Loki, you look magnificent. I can’t even describe what seeing you like this is doing to me.”
She felt the wetness deep within her core surfacing between her wanting legs. While Loki was shocked at his appearance and overwhelmed, Lilly needed to make him understand how beautiful he was to her at this moment.
Swimming over to him, she was suddenly much smaller than him. His navel met her mouth almost perfectly. Taking a moment to place a kiss just beneath it while looking up at him with expectant eyes, she remembered Eir said the water was breathable. Testing it out now was an as good time as any.
Dunking her head bravely beneath the surface she drew a concerned gasp from Loki and a small utterance of her name as she disappeared.
After a short adjustment, her lungs began to process the water like air. Her eyes could also clearly see everything before her. Including the massive cock of her lover now in his Jötunn form. Daunting to comprehend, Lillian knew Loki needed her assurance that his true form and the form of their child were not monstrous but beautiful.
She placed her mouth over his cock, opening herself, trying to take him all in. She was still, in fact, a tiny human. But she managed. Sucking him with a fierce passion, she took as much as possible. Wondering what he was feeling above the surface, she released his gorgeous member for a brief second, and bobbed her head up. His eyes were closed.
“Please keep doing what you are doing,” he said simply and quietly.
His fingers found her face, and he grasped her jaw, massaging it gently.
“As you wish, my lord.”
Her lord. Lillian had never called him that before.
She was back underwater, stuffing his cock back into her mouth. Lilly could feel him beginning to shudder, imagining he could come at any time, grabbing his thighs, she doubled down her efforts. She wished she could hear him from under the water, coming in his Jötunn form might carry a significantly different acoustic.
From up above, Loki was in tears. He cried out, coming in Lillian’s mouth, feeling what could only be considered deeply vulnerable. She had just seen him in his true form. Without hesitation, she took his cock into her mouth and let him come like an absolute maniac.
He pulled her up out of the water. Lillian couldn’t tell if his face was wet, or he had been crying.
“How do you feel, my love?” he said softly, “thank you for your effort to make me feel, well, not like a frost giant who haunts the nightmares of all Asgardian children.”
“Loki,” she began, but he cut her off. The light in his chest was now the size of a small Midgardian sedan.
“You continue to be the best thing that ever happened to me. Even if I am now swimming in a cave like a fool, in my Jötunn form, I wouldn’t change it for anything. You must know this.”
Lilly smiled, “can I tell you about the runes I saw before you transformed? I think they might be a code or message from Jotunnheim!”
Lilly was a little too enthusiastic for the moment for Loki’s taste. He countered, “we should get out first, please. I’ve had enough of this body for now.”
“Okay, but if you ever turn into Jötunn Loki again, I will never be sorry.” Lilly smiled seductively.
Loki shrugged his shoulders and lifted her out of the water. He then cautiously stepped out himself, watching his form shift slowly back to Aesir.
He sighed with relief.
“You wondered if you’d be stuck, huh?” Lilly surmised by his relieved expression.
“I did.”
“Hey, you are a fucking hot blue giant,” she playfully added as she stepped towards him, pulling herself up to his lips, kissing him deeply. He kissed her deeply back.
“Thank you. For everything.”
They left the cave and headed back to the palace to figure out if what Lilly saw had any meaning. She already felt better, placing her hands on her belly as they walked; she could tell her little frost giant did too.
