I worry this wound will never close and will continue to bleed
#I want to stop hurting so bad but im worried I never will stop hurting because of how much it still hurts and how it leaves me confused.#It’s been a few months and I still cry about it. My heart still aches and breaks when I think about it.#I thought they were someone who wouldn’t hurt me. but I guess I was fooled. I guess they always were that someone. Just hidden#it hurts to know that someone who I thought was a close friend and an ex got “together” in a way.#They aren’t exactly together together but together in a way where they’re kinda fucking#And that’s where it hurts. To know what they’re doing.#that was my closest friend. my actual soulmate I believed. and thats my ex. They got “together” a month later after we broke up.#after talking about it to a few people.. were they attracted to each other even when my ex and I were together? If so.. what was I?#And how could they do this so easily? Or am I just overthinking/overreacting?? I don’t know. I need someone to tell me#I look back when my friend & I were still friends. I think I started to lose them during the beginning of summer last year#I just tried believing I wasn’t and things would fall back into place soon. but they weren’t.#They just said one thing and left. Leaving me alone in the dark.#I don’t know.. I get it in some way? I was in a bad place and probably draining for them to stay but like#Idk.. I guess I can understand why they left me. but why get with someone who I dated and start.. fucking.#im so hurt by this. I’m worried this wound will never close and that I’ll be a wounded dog chained to the tree forever.

OMG so ive been thinking abt this ever since i saw ur ninjas from different time periods au but the way u incorporated the love triangle there (jay thinking they hate him for starting all of that) has driven me crazy ive been thinking about it for forever this guy gets so scared of them hating him and im like. Shakes u ur brain is so big i hope u know that idk where i was going with this i just that tidbit has wormed its way into my head ever since
yeah!!!! i just. okay so a) it’s already mostly textual given his entire arc in s4 but ALSO b) i have so many issues with how people hc jay to have anxiety and like. cool that’s how anxiety actually works?? misreading the situation and overreacting like jay does is both understandable and INCREDIBLY IN CHARACTER and as much as later seasons/fanon cram him into a very exaggerated portrayal of someone with anxiety this is where i relate to him the most. this is what being social anxious actually does: backfiring. overthinking situations that could be resolved easily if he didn’t take it so personally that it blows up BOTH his biggest relationships. the only difference from the stereotypical portrayal of an anxious person is that jay doesn’t shut down, he just keeps digging himself into a hole, which is a very real way that it manifests. i have done this. it is incredibly easy to do this. we are social machines built to interpret people and it is so so easy to misinterpret or overestimate or just plain fuck it up. jay is literally, textually insecure and the love triangle, as poorly executed as it is, took a sledgehammer to his sense of self and what he thought was a given: that nya liked him and cole was his best friend!!! this is STILL fucking him up when s3 ends - as annoying as the scene where he gets frustrated cole is the one comforting nya after zane’s sacrifice is, i do think it matters that it’s a raw wound. it’s something that stays and bothers him all the way through s4 bc they don’t get the chance to reconcile like they usually would. and that would REALLY suck bc he knows he shouldn’t care this much bc zane is dead. they’re all mourning. he shouldn’t still be so fixated on the drama but he is and he can’t help it. and zane’s dead. it’s just a compounding of the most stressful possible social drama with the most traumatic experience any of them have been through and anyway that’s why i am bullying jay ninjago and yoinking him from his coping via syndicated television phase. also the suit is funny

I know this seems kind of minor but I am in tears about this rn. I do a self-paced online school but I have to take tests in person once every year. My mom got notified of this and told me to change my sleep schedule for the test, but she never told me what day the test would be, just that it was in March, or what time of the day it was, so I had to guess. I was too afraid to ask her, because she has a habit of getting mad or putting me down whenever I talk to her. I spent a month trying to change my sleep schedule, which resulted in me getting around 4 hours of sleep every day. When I’m sleep deprived, my motivation for work goes way down. Normally I’m supposed to spend 5 hours a day on schoolwork, but being sleep deprived made me only spend 1 hour average each day, so now I’m way behind. I know a lot of this was my fault since I could’ve just powered through my lack of motivation, but it irritates me that this could have been easily avoided if I’d just known what time the test was because I just found out, and turns out I could’ve done nothing to my sleep schedule and still be fully awake for the test. But now, the hour of the test is the same hour I go to sleep. My natural sleep schedule changes nightly (sleeping at 9 P.M. one day then 10 P.M. the next day and 11 P.M. the next) and it happened to line up well with the test if I did nothing. I can understand if my mom didn’t know this—she doesn’t pay much attention to when I sleep and wake up, so it probably just seems like a random and chaotic schedule with no known coherence to her. It just irritates me that so much trouble could have been avoided if she just told me when the test would take place. Then she belittled me about my lack of preparation. I know this is also partially my fault, because I should’ve just asked, but it never seriously crossed my mind because I’m terrified of talking to her. The test is today, so there’s nothing I can do to change this, I just wanted to get this off my chest.
I understand this. The communication was lacking between you two and it happens to me way more than it should. I’m not sure why your mom would be mad or why she’d talk down to you; that’s not how a mother should react. If at all possible, I think you two could use a sit down and have a heart to heart about this. It honestly could be a misunderstanding. I tend to overreact/overthink things, so I understand that it may seem like she’s mad or something and she very well could be but it could just be a misconception on your part as well. Not trying to put blame on ANYONE just telling you my perspective of how things could be based on my experience although I know everyone is different. My sleep schedule is just like yours so I’d probably react the same way. I like to know details so I can plan accordingly. I don’t like leaving things to the last minute if it can be helped so I totally get where you’re coming from.

💛Astro Notes💛
(All about Fixed signs)
(These may or may not apply to you, please keep an open mind and take it as entertainment rather than life changing facts. Please credit me if you’re going to use my work, or ask me beforehand.)
Tumblr media
💛Fixed Sun and Rising are the most notable. You can definitely tell when some is a Taurus, Leo, Scorpio or an Aquarius Sun. In the rising it over powers the qualities of the Sun when it comes to how you come off.
💛Fixed Moons are double edged swords. On one hand they give the person endurance, patience and strong emotional capabilities. On the other hand, it incites overreacting and overthinking, running things over and over to the point of burning the mind out before physically achieving anything. This is why many fixed moons are labeled “lazy”.
💛Taurus and Leo represent the good things in life, food, money, clothes, art, fame, kids, the home, the superficial. Ruled by the Sun and Venus, respectively, they’re the rose to their opposites thorn. Whichever houses they reside in they bring security and confidence to but it can quickly get to their heads and turn into ego.
💛Scorpio and Aquarius on the other hand represents the other side of life. Fighting, cruelty, freedom, sex and death. Ruled by Uranus, Pluto and Mars, these signs speak of the grimmer side of life, some would argue its real life with no filter where we have to fight for our rights (Scorpio and Aquarius) in order to enjoy it (Taurus and Leo). Both signs bring resilience to whichever house and/or placement giving the person an edge in that part of life. Although, they’re hard to fool both signs are prone to destroy what they have built just so no one can do it first.
💛Fixed dominants are really stubborn and rigid when it comes to their ideals but they’re also facts based and would change their mind eventually.
💛This can be seen alot with Gen Z (Majority are Aquarius dominants) and Millennials (Strong effects of Scorpio Pluto) where they fight tooth and nail for something only to realize they were wrong the whole damn time.
💛Scorpio Venus is one hell of a mystery. They’re so timid in public but are very sexual in reality. They don’t see it but everything they watch is erotic or filled with sexual themes.
💛Houses that are in Fixed signs indicate deviance and possibly using sex and/or sexuality to get what you want.
💛I personally find Leos to be very attractive
💛Empty Fixed houses give a clear perspective on the house’s theme. It doesn’t necessarily mean that the person is fully confident in that part but it is easy for them to get over any obstacles or dilemmas.
💛The oppoiste is true, especially for Fixed house stelliums and those with Sun and/or Moon residing under one. Although, an indication of power, assurance, confidence, abundance and energy, it may not be easily obtained. Fixed houses can be like traps at times, they lure you in with all the money, fame, and pleasure you desire but the price you pay is your freedom and growth.
💛Even though they’re stated as “the biggest enemies with zero compatibility” in text book zodiac, but I know alot of Taurus and Aquarius married couples.
💛I am not sure the reason why but some of the biggest and most influential people throughout history were Fixed Suns. For better or worse
💛Aquarius Moons have the biggest contrast from one another. I never met one that was like another Aquarius Moon. This Moons works low key, hard to identify and explain, and even harder for the individual to analyze and digest.
💛Leo Suns talk about themselves alot more than other Leo placements. It’s not necessarily in the “all about me” tone but rather they always have to relate things back to them to let you know that they understand. Or they just love talking themselves and I got it wrong.
💛Taurus Venus is like if Taurus and Libra were a single Venusian sign. They have the class and beauty of Taurus and the youthful playfulness of Libra.
💛People with Fixed placements gravitate towards people with Fixed placements. I have yet to see otherwise.
💛Before you fight with a Fixed Mars remember that they fight for them to not lose, not for them to win. They will do everything so that you lose.
💛Scorpio Mercury is the ULTIMATE booksmart but damn are they really lost when it comes to people and the streets.
💛Fixed 10th house are more driven and career oriented than Cardinal signs. This is because they use success as way of proving themselves to the world, the hater, the doubters, their parents, that one person that looked at them weird. Simply put, they will be successful just to prove you wrong.
💛Taurus Moon is the earthy, easy going, chill Taurus that smokes weed and loves nature and colors like brown and green that people keep talking about. As a Taurus I can tell you that I am not one of those things nor have I ever liked them.
💛Fire dominant Scorpios are one of the most pretentious people I have ever met. They’re so fake deep and got it all “figured out”. Not a cute look babe.
💛All the people with Aquarius in the 8th that I have met just hate sex and talking about sexual things. It really weirds them out, which I get. Shit is weird if you think about it.
💛Aquarius Mercury can flay people’s skin with their tongue. They get creative with their insults to say the least.
💛Leo in the 11th is status obsessed. You can’t be their friend if you don’t “match” them.
💛Fixed Suns and dominants are super bougie. They love everything extra with a side of extravagance and add triple too much.
💛People with a Fixed Sun and Moon combination are victims of their big egos. They could really fall into delusions of grace and power having done absolutely nothing in real life
💛I have noticed that Leos don’t like it when someone has something in common with them. It’s as if whenever someone relates to them, they’re no longer “unique”, “different” or “special”
💛Fixed in 12th house experience crashing highs and lows. They never learn or attune to something unless they hit the rock hard cold bottom.
💛Leo Chiron is a hidden fame indicator. Many with this placement are child stars

BEST FRIENDS TO LOVERS || SATORU GOJO
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Request: i was wondering if i could request a best friend to lovers with gojo? completely up to you regarding if it’s a one shot or headcanon! i don’t have anything too specific besides that! maybe some angst to comfort bc i love to make my heart ache a little.
Pairing: Gojo Satoru x GN!Reader
Warnings: Swearing, mentions of sexual content (close friends to FWB to lovers).
Type: Headcanons / small one-shots
Notes: Nonnie, you love to make my heart warm with this. Writing Gojo Satoru... well, it is truly my specialty, hehehe. I hope you like this one! This is actually pretty bad in my opinion but I hope you like it nonetheless!
Tumblr media
Satoru would consistently ask to get into phone calls with you whenever he had the free time to do so, and that even meant when both of you were students together at Jujutsu High. It was difficult having to have him cling onto you but you liked it deep down.
Satoru purposefully left missions early or avoided meeting with Yaga-sensei in order to take most of the time to train with you. It always led to him beating you and you scolding him for going too hard on you but without a doubt, he’d loved every bit of training and bickering you’d gnaw at him.
Most of the time, there was a lot of sexual tension between the both of you. Clearly, everyone saw it; Utahime found annoyance and disgust with it though she did make a bet with Suguru about whether you and Satoru would have slept yet.
The consistent flirting that Satoru would act upon you and the physical gestures of him throwing his arm over your shoulder and the tickles he’d give on the back of your neck was an obvious sign he was into you—or really, he just loved to annoy the shit out of you.
“You’re coming home early tonight, right? Let’s hang out or maybe I should sleepover.”
“For once in your damn life, Satoru, please be quiet.”
Satoru would take you out on trips—or well, you thought they were dates, but he said that both of you were simply hanging out. Sometimes it’d be a trip to the bakery and having bubble tea while both of you talk about your day or a drive through the city, which was peaceful.
It didn’t take long for you to realize that you were falling for your best friend. He was witty but charming all at once. You hated him yet you loved him as a close friend and you were falling in love with him now. The moment he looked at you and your hands almost touched while you were both gazing up at the stars as he talked about how exhausted he was being the strongest and all that, you were falling hard.
Truth be told, you loved his annoyance. It was too much, sometimes, but as the both of you got stronger—in reality, this meant to you getting a little bit stronger but he was always superior to you—and more mature as months went on, you had grown fond of his annoyance. The days where he didn’t pester you with text messages and phone calls since he’d be out on trips overseas or start teaching as a sensei for Jujutsu Tech made it a bit unbearable and lonely sometimes.
The more time that Satoru had to take care of for himself, he became bolder yet he managed to be so quiet at the same time. Sure, he always fooled around with you, maybe teasing you in front of Principal Yaga (which was embarrassing to have your old sensei and now principal watch these scenes unfold), but it always seemed as if he was hiding secrets.
Every time you asked him what was wrong and you always encouraged him to come to you, he’d do so, but it wasn’t long until both of you actually started sleeping with one another. And, yeah, he was really good in bed, but when time progressed, he became softer and gentler with his touches.
Whenever you asked him why it always seemed like he was hiding something, he’d tell you that you were overreacting and that you needed to not overthink things. But Satoru was your best friend for so long, and after all, it was difficult to not see right through your best friend.
When you explained to Satoru that you wanted to stop all of this curse exorcising and wanted to live a ‘normal life, he didn’t argue with you. Although, this made both of you a bit distant from each other. It was hard at first, but Satoru didn’t like the idea of Nanami consistently giving you the most company, even though you were both working together now.
There was a time where Satoru ignored you for a good amount of time. He didn’t answer your texts or even your phone calls, he didn’t mean to hurt you in this sense, though he found himself falling for you harder as well too. But he couldn’t ruin the friendship you both had; the strong connection you shared with him.
Satoru had to admit to himself that he loved the sex, yeah, but he loved being able to be around you. They were the only moments when he could have the option to kiss you, hug you tightly with so much affection in his heart, and talk about how beautiful you were even if it meant that you’d smack him on the face afterward because you were just always so playful and that’s how you were.
──── ⋅♡⋅ ────
It was difficult to maintain a close friendship with Satoru.
Not because he was outrageously witty and flamboyant with his high and mighty powers, but it was more so that you were falling hard for your best friend. Whom you had grown up together with at the same school; the same one who would knock you down during every bit of training that you’d get, and you’d scold him for offering such a weird demand since you knew every time he requested to train with you, Satoru would easily win every time.
When he became a teacher and you had recently quit Jujutsu Tech, you decided to work with one of his other friends, which was Nanami Kento. However, his job was absolutely draining, but it definitely beat the consistent outings of exorcising curses and you preferred to live a life as normal as possible without having to put yourself on the line.
During work, as of at that moment, your feelings were soaring at the sight of Satoru’s name popping up on his phone. Nanami consistently lectured you with the tough personality he had, claiming you could easily find someone more suitable for your tastes, but he always let it go.
“Enough being a child,” Nanami scolded you, eyes scanning through the newspaper in his hands. How could he find the old articles to be so fascinating? “Tell Satoru how you feel.”
“Or what?” You cocked a brow before taking a sip of your coffee. “You’ll tell him yourself?”
“I’m not in elementary school. Both of you are adults here, or at least, I thought,” he sighed, shaking his head. “I am tired of him texting me of your whereabouts. It has gotten to the point where I had to block his number but I couldn’t due to the higher ups’ and their needs of exorcising curses.”
“Sounds like a real bummer for you.”
“You seriously have no idea,” he responded, avoiding eye contact before turning a page of his newspaper. “Now tell him that you have feelings for him.”
“Nanami,” you sighed, placing your cup of coffee on the table in front of you. Both of you were on your lunch breaks, which ironically, most of the time you both decide to take it together so you wouldn’t feel too lonely. “You make it sound so easy.”
“You’re the one making it difficult.” He huffed.
“Come on,” you shook your head, placing your hands out in frustration. “How do I approach it?”
“Y/N, I am not going to answer that question since you already know the answer to it.”
“Nanami.”
“Lunch break is almost over,” Nanami quipped, checking his watch.
You blinked at him. “It has only been like ten minutes.”
“It’s mentally over for me,” Nanami spoke before standing up and making his way to the door.
You furrowed your eyebrows at the tall man who was casually making his exit from the conversation you were both sharing. “Hey—Nanami, you ass! I thought we were supposed to be helping each other!”
“Language, Y/N, we are working,” he shook his head before slamming the wooden door.
“We are on break!”
──── ⋅♡⋅ ────
Satoru continued to drag on this act where it became the usual of seeing each other, having casual small talk, have sex, and then he’d be off the next day. The idea of that strong friendship slowly became a ‘friends with benefits’, and then, it hurt you more than you imagined.
At one point, Satoru got lectured by Nanami over the phone about you and him being complete children and it was about time to confess his feelings—or vice versa, or really, both in this sense—because he couldn’t stand your constant worries at work. (Really though, Nanami just cared for you, and he was tired of seeing you sulk in pain).
So, finally, Satoru decided it was time to open up about how he felt.
When Satoru asked you to see him at his place or have him go over to yours, it didn’t take long for him to flash over to where you were and have both of you meet. It was difficult, seeing him the way that he was, and he looked lost in his eyes though they were hidden beneath the blindfold that he wore.
The night was still young, streetlights were flickering, and the wind was chilly. Both of you stared at each other in silence before both of you had decided to open your mouths at the same time and speak simultaneously.
“I need to tell you something.”
Both of you spoke, and before you knew it, you both let out a loud, boisterous laugh that echoed throughout the park that you met up Satoru. It was charming, it was an enjoyable moment and you felt your knees weakened at the thought of you having that small spark of connection together.
It made your heart flutter, but the time was now or never.
“So,” Satoru grinned, almost as if he grew a large amount of confidence not too long ago. “Shall I go first or should you?”
“I mean,” you gritted your teeth, fighting back the nervous ticks. (But you gave in and then fidgeted with your hands anyways. God, this was harder than expected). “I don’t know where to start.”
“Neither do I,” Satoru’s grin faded into a soft smile before he took a few steps closer to you.
His smile began to fade which made your heart drop quickly; there must’ve been something cold or terrible he had to say. The look Satoru made was not something you enjoyed seeing, and nonetheless, you were a subject to the expression on his face. Overall, this was difficult to witness, and this didn’t help the shakiness of your hands.
“What we’re doing…” his voice trailed off as he tilted his head. And—why do the cute gestures have to be so heartwarming in a serious atmosphere like this? It was illegal for him to act this way. Definitely.
“You mean… the sex?” You questioned; you knew the answer. Of course, you did. But you wanted to clarify anyways.
“I don’t think we can keep it going, Y/N.”
And—this was it. The moment of truth. You felt your face become heavy, and not the way that you’d hoped for. “I mean, I get it. We are all gonna be with someone and fall in love and well, yeah, you get it.”
“I don’t think you get it,” Satoru responded as he untied the back of his blindfold.
Within a matter of seconds, his blindfold fell to his hands and his bright, blue eyes were charming its way to your gaze. A smile grew on his face and he cupped his hands on your cheeks, letting his thumbs flutter over your blush.
“W-What do you mean?” You asked, suddenly forgetting how to breathe at his sudden touch.
“I like you a lot,” Satoru smiled. “I always have, ever since we were young and dumb and well, I guess we are still pretty young and du—”
You couldn’t help but flick his forehead for that, completely ruining the moment.
Satoru grunted, not minding that he completely turned off his Infinity for that. “Okay, okay. But Y/N, I like you. A lot. And I seriously do. I’ve fallen for you pretty fucking hard.”
You didn’t expect yourself to fall into his arms, inhaling the scent of his cologne and before he even had the chance to say something at your immediate reaction, you placed a kiss on his lips, feeling that strong connection build-up. It wasn’t so empty anymore; it had more sense to you to act this way once the feelings had suddenly been returned, and although, you hadn’t opened up about how you felt, the action said a lot more than it needed.
You felt him smile against the kiss and then to your surprise, he tightened his grip on you and held you up in the air, allowing yourself to laugh out loud like a happy child, and the audible sound coming out of your mouth was heartwarming to him. He missed hearing that laugh; only he could make you laugh so hard to the point where you knew you’d wanna hit him for being annoying yet you loved it at the same time. And—all in all, your heart couldn’t take anymore.
“I like you too,” you chuckled as he finally set you down and both of your foreheads met. “I like you a lot. I always have to.”
“How could you not?” Satoru cheekily grinned before you raised your hand up to smack him. “I—hey, am I wrong? I did have a feeling you have always liked me.”
You ended up smacking him anyways.
And, well, no. He wasn’t wrong.

IPYTM EP 4
I just feel like saying all of my IPYTM ep 4 thoughts now that I watched the episode, before I read any other posts on here. Raw thoughts minutes after closing the episode.
I feel like I need to say this first. I do not agree with Oh reading Teh’s logbook and invading his privacy, but I do appreciate that he told him later that he did. I also do not like the hitting Teh with the bouquet. Okay, just wanted to get that out of the way.
TEH (AND JAI)
I’m still mad at Teh. I do not forgive him. But I do want to say that Jai is a piece of shit for manipulating Teh the way he did. This episode made it so clear to me how Jai used what Teh wrote in that logbook to his gain, recognizing how vulnerable Teh was and seeing how weak his relationship with Oh-Aew had gotten and using that to his benefit.
Now honestly, I can’t tell if that truly was his plan from the start or if he saw the way Teh had fallen for him and what happened with Oh and decided to say that it was never real in an attempt to stop it as soon as possible.
Regardless, if he was a good friend as well as a good director, Jai would never have used Teh’s broken relationship the way he did. He could have tried to help Teh rekindle things with Oh, work through some of his fears and anxieties that were keeping him from feeling close to his boyfriend. That very likely could have solved both problems–Teh’s relationship issues and his acting barrier–but instead, Jai manipulated Teh’s feelings.
However, I’m not letting Teh off that easily either. There was a moment when I actually did feel a little bad for him, when I started to recognize how Jai was using him and playing with his feelings. And when Teh and Oh started doing a little better, I allowed myself to think that maybe they could figure it out with more communication.
But no, Teh wandered off at the after party to see Jai, and any tiny flicker of forgiveness I felt went out the door. The way he showed no genuine guilt or shame with Oh too made me honestly sick. Like Oh said, did he think he was stupid? Did Teh think he was being subtle? It gave me secondhand embarrassment to see him believe he was being anything except disgustingly obvious about what was going on.
And then for him to call Jai the Fang to his Akin, with his too-forgiving boyfriend sitting in the other room?? Again, do you have no shame, Teh???
Also, the way Jai and Teh both gaslit Oh-Aew, trying to make him think he was overreacting and overthinking when both of them knew Teh’s feelings were not just the result of his great acting. That the kiss was never just an exercise (at least from Teh’s side, which is the side that mattered most). Watching them both lie to Oh’s face like that lit a rage fire within me.
Now, the scene of Oh-Aew and Teh singing on stage and the music going quiet as Teh’s attention drifted from Oh to Jai was heartbreaking in a really good way. I’m so proud of Oh-Aew for finally deciding that moment was enough, that Teh deserved no more chances, and that he needed to walk away. I’m so proud of him for choosing himself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I appreciate Teh’s roommate. I don’t have the sympathy in me at this very moment so soon after the episode to wish Teh such kindness, but I’m sure tomorrow morning I’ll be a little more open to him having the emotional support I know deep down he needs. So I’m glad he has his roommate extending a hand.
And it was incredibly sad to watch Teh realize how he’d isolated himself to the extreme all for this one dream, maybe forgetting along the way to dream about his relationship with Oh-Aew, his long term friendships, etc. All of the other dreams you can and should have as well. I think he started to realize everything he’d given up for acting and how less glamorous and fun it really was now that he was here.
And that hit him even more when he got casted and potentially signed, only to face the reality that it also meant erasing the digital footprint of his relationship with Oh, one of the few things he still had left. This life he had envisioned kept getting less and less glamorous by the second.
I’m not saying I want him to give up on his dream of acting, but I do hope that everything that has happened is his much needed wake up call. That he finds more empathy for the people he judged for drifting from acting, for the people he pushed away for not trying hard enough. I hope he sees how selfish and ignorant his actions and his words have been over the past few years and that he takes this as a starting point for a more understanding and accepting outlook on not just his own life but the lives of those around him.
And I do hope he heals one day. Or, well, I will hope for that tomorrow. Tonight I’m still mad at him.
OH-AEW
Now on to Oh. As I said before, I don’t condone the invasion of Teh’s privacy or hitting him with the bouquet. But otherwise, I really am proud of Oh-Aew. Do I think he handled everything perfectly? No. In an ideal world, I would have liked him to confront Teh sooner so he could have given him the opportunity to be honest early on.
But given everything, I think Oh’s level of compassion and his willingness to try to understand are more than most people are willing to give in his shoes. I genuinely do respect how level-headed he went about it. I wish he had been better rewarded for his grace, and instead he got a boyfriend who lied and continued to go behind his back even after Oh had given him an undeserved second chance.
But what I am most proud of is how Oh-Aew handled breaking up with Teh. Telling Teh that he was hurt and asking him to have pity on him. Oh chose himself again, more permanently. In that moment, he understood that Teh’s apology did not warrant forgiveness and that he was allowed to stay hurt, to stay angry, to stay unwilling to take Teh back.
Oh was vulnerable and still stayed firm in his decision to respect himself anyway, to trust his feelings and prioritize his healing. Teh was there crying before him, and he still understood that he had no responsibility to fix Teh’s pain. That the pain Teh was feeling was pain he had inflicted on himself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You can see in the way he turned back to look at Teh leave and then the way he sobbed afterwards that it took all of his strength to not give in moments earlier. How easy it would have been for him to take comfort in the familiarity of Teh’s embrace once again, to give him that second chance and hope for the best. I wouldn’t have blamed him if he did; it’s hard to give up someone who once made you feel safe. Who once felt like home.
But I am so proud of him for choosing himself anyway. For knowing that, however hard it was in that moment to let go, it would have been even harder to live every day sacrificing his mental and emotional security for a relationship he knew would never feel the same. For a man he could never fully trust again.
Oh-Aew has grown so much.
OH’S FRIENDS
Also, Oh has the cutest, sweetest friends in the world. This was my favorite scene in the entire episode. I’m so glad he found his group and that they love him so much.

The contrast between Teh and Oh-Aew throughout this season and especially in this episode has been really apparent as they’ve drifted apart. And I think this scene really highlighted that. Teh verbally acknowledged how he had no one to turn to anymore, how he’d ruined his relationships with everyone over time, meanwhile Oh was surrounded by people ready to love him and take care of him until he was better.
Oh’s honesty with himself and the people around him resulted in a community of friends supporting him as his authentic self, while Teh’s lies to himself and the people around him resulted in solitude.
It’s tragic for him, really.
EP 5?
Honestly, I have no idea what will happen with episode 5. At this point, I want Oh-Aew to find happiness away from Teh and for Teh to fix his insecurities on his own. I don’t want them together.
Maybe one day they’ll find each other again. I don’t know. But after this season’s storyline has unfolded, I think Oh deserves better. And I don’t think they make sense anymore.
AND BECAUSE IT NEEDS TO BE SAID
Oh-Aew dying his hair from red to black again? Yeah. He is Teh’s red no more.

goodbye - nishinoya x reader
Tumblr media
pairing: nishinoya yuu x gn!reader
genre: angst
warnings: i say the word fuck like once, mentions of cheating, angst
word count: 1273
synopsis: nishinoya promised everything to you, one of the promises being that he wasn’t in love kiyoko shizimu anymore. looks like he broke a promise.
author’s note: i feel like everything about this is low quality but i still wanna post it 🥵🥵🥵👍👍
Tumblr media
its just playful flirtation. he doesnt feel that way anymore about her. he promised.
if your boyfriend could read your thoughts at this moment, he’d probably laugh loudly and reassure you that you were just overthinking as always before pressing a kiss to your lips; after all how could he still be in love with the girl he was pining after for his entire time as a highschool student? silly, right?
so why did your stomach twist in pain to see nishinoya with his arm around the living embodiment of perfection, kiyoko shimizu? how whenever she entered the bar, your lover immediately gravitated towards her, a large grin plastered onto his face and quickly shooting flirty comments to her?
“wow kiyoko, you look as amazing as ever!”
“you’re still single?? how is a goddess like you not taken yet!”
“you’re so perfect kiyoko! i didn’t think you could become even more so after highschool but you proved me wrong!”
“it’s your first time to this part of the city, right? you should let me show you around!”
your grip on your drink tightened with each passing sentence. but they were just friends, right? you had nothing to worry about. nishinoya was always faithful to you, he gave you more than enough love, so you were just overreacting, right?
yet you couldn't help yourself as your gaze traveled over their bodies from across the room, noticing how his hands fit perfectly on her small pretty waist, as if the gods personally created her for him. they fit together like a puzzle and you hated it. you couldn’t help but hear as they giggled with each other, reminiscing on old memories from their volleyball club days. seeing how he stared at her with those puppy dog eyes that were filled with adoration and love, you wondered.
had he ever looked at you like that? like you were the only person in the room, like you were the stars to his galaxy, like you were his soulmate?
a bitter taste suddenly filling your mouth, you set down your drink and left to the restroom to clear your mind. when you got there, you looked up at the mirror in front of you, setting your hands down on the slightly wet countertops and letting a shaky sigh escape you. your e/c eyes roamed about your appearance in your reflection, comparing everything about yourself to her.
you raised a hand off the counter, reaching up to trace your curves and dips, focusing on all your imperfections. you smiled pathetically at yourself, you knew she was better. he knew she was better, his actions clearly showed who he preferred to be around. hell, anybody could tell you that you didn’t stand a chance against her.
and it broke you. you felt your heart crumble slowly, drawing in a shaky inhale to compose yourself. no. this was silly. he loves you and you only, he told you he did multiple times.
you forced a smile onto your face, trying to convince yourself as you lift yourself off the counter and start to make your way to the door. you'd talk to him about when you got to your shared apartment, after all, communication is key as they say!
finally, you felt yourself relax, placing your hand on the doorknob to open it before you heard a familiar voice, making your heart drop right back down and your anxiety spike.
“what happened to y/n? didn’t you enter a relationship with them?”
“no worries, kiyoko,” you heard your boyfriend giggle drunkenly, “we broke up a while ago. now, can i please kiss you?”
you felt your breath hitch, your body freezing up at his words. as far as you knew, you and nishinoya were very much together. or...at least you thought you were. weren't you?
you heard a small thud against the bathroom door making you flinch, of course you knew where the thud came from. and you could picture it too. you could practically see your short…”boyfriend” dominantly grabbing this goddess of perfection by her hips and pressing his lips to hers passionately.
and oh fuck, that hurt to think about. tears immediately started streaming down your face at a rapid rate while you desperately grasped onto your chest in pain. you leaned against the door, a choked sob leaving your throat.
to think that the only thing separating you and your unfaithful so-called soulmate was a door, one that you could so easily open and stop if you wanted to.
and so you did.
you forcefully tore open the door, not daring to look at his surprised face before muttering out a small “excuse me” and pushing past the two of them. you felt your feet move faster towards the exit of the bar, now at a speedy walk.
exiting the establishment, you marched down the dark sidewalk, the cold weather bringing a chill to your body. not like you could feel it. you didn’t feel anything. you just felt numb.
“y-y/n! wait! it’s...it’s not what it—stop walking away! let me explain!!” you heard noya call out urgently, his sharp and fast footsteps loud when he reached you, grabbing onto your wrist and turning you around to face him.
“y/n…” he panted out, his lips tinted a faint shade of red from her lipstick, “please. it’s not what it looked like. i promise.”
bitterly, you scoffed, snatching your arm away, “you promise? j-just like how you promised you didn’t love her anymore? just like h-how you said you’d alwa-ys stay faithful to me?” you hated how pathetic you sounded, stuttering out your words between cries, “because you seem to have broken a lot of promises, yuu.”
“i’m...im sorry. i was drunk, i still am! you know i would never do that to you.”
“don’t lie to me yuu...please. i just...i just want to know the truth. do you love her?”
you noticed how he hesitated, his mouth hanging open, trying to find his words, “y/n of course not...you know i only love—“
“do you love her.” you asked again, more intent behind your question.
“i…” his throat felt dry, like he needed to get a glass of water, “i’m sorry y/n…i can’t stop.” he stammered out, trying to reach for you again, his chocolate brown eyes tearing up as they searched your e/c ones.
you pulled away, giving him a weak smile, “thank you. for telling me the truth. so now, please...go back inside. kiyoko’s probably wondering where you are.”
nishinoya furrowed his eyebrows, “i love you, y/n.”
you leaned forward a bit, resting your cold hand on his warm cheek (he was always warm, wasn't he?), “i love you too yuu. i’ll always love you...but i can’t be with someone who doesn’t love me back. not in the way you love her.”
you took your hand away from him, your lips quivering and your hand twitching to go back to him. you turned, walking away again in silence before turning your head back to face him.
you looked at him, analyzing all his features one last time. his dark hair with the blonde streak in the front (he needed to redye that soon, didn’t he?), his plain white t-shirt and fitted jeans that complimented his small yet fit body, his silly bright shoes that definitely did not go with his outfit.
you cracked a smile at that before raising your hand up in a weak wave, whispering out your final words to him loud enough for him to hear, “goodbye, yuu.”

Hi! Would you be alright with writing a HC with dorm leaders, when MC vents to them, sharing their fear for the future? Things like "I am able to return home? And if I regret returning?" or "If I don't get back, how will I survive here? What will I be after I graduate?", etc. Thank you and sorry for my English TwT
riddle rosehearts
riddle will hear his darling out, let them talk as much as they need
he can see why they’re so worried- crowley seems to make no progress on sending them back home, yet promises that it’ll happen, they’re considered half a student and no word on how their graduation would work has been spoken...
he feels a bit helpless- he desperately wishes he had the answers to his darling’s questions to help them calm down, but he doesn’t. there’s no clear cut answer for those questions and he knows it
all he can do is comfort them and promise them that he’ll guide them trough all he can- if they return home, he’s sure they’ll build an amazing life for themselves. if they stay, he’ll help them stand on their own two feet- he can’t promise that it’ll all be easy, but he can promise he’ll do his best to help
riddle’s entire childhood was spent in a rigid schedule, a direct paved way to a future that had already been planned out for him. while it was suffocating, it at least gave him an idea of what as to come; on the contrary, his darling’s future is nebulous, clouded and ever-changing... he can’t imagine how stressful it is for them
he’ll suggest attaching to a routine- sure, it won’t really fix anything in the big scheme, but... it’s the best advice he has; a routine can be grounding, something to at least let his darling feel like there’s a sense of familiarity in the passing days. it’s something he does himself: he hopes he can at least help his darling a little
leona kingscholar
leona worries over his darling, although he tries to not appear overly preoccupied while his darling talks. he doesn’t want them to feel like they are making him worry too much, or for them to stop talking. it’s good that they’re talking instead of bottling it up- he doesn’t want to make them stop
leona has long since given up on the only future he’d imagined- being the king- and he’s just living lazily, seeing where the flow takes him. he realizes he probably isn’t the best person to give advice, but... damnit, he’s not just gonna let his darling go back to living with all those anxieties inside of them
the future... well, it’s scary for everyone, but more for them, huh? he reminds them that, even if their memories from back home haven’t returned to them, that their life is their own; no matter what world they may return, they’ve already proved themselves to be an outstanding individual. and if they stay? if crowley can’t figure out how to let them return? then he’ll guide them through this world
he may feel useless as a second prince, but... well, he’s a prince- he can help them live a comfortable life, he can help them further their education at a school much more useful for a non-magic person... he makes it quite clear that as long as he has a say in it, their future isn’t something they must stress over
leona lives life as it goes by, rarely worrying over things to come; he knows that asking his darling to do that would be rather insensitive, considering their situation, but... hey, it’ll be ok- there, just nap with him... what comes tomorrow comes tomorrow; he’ll be there to do all he can, so there’s no point in overthinking it
azul ashengrotto
hearing his darling’s anxieties, their fears for the future... azul may not appear to be a very empathetic person, but it brings a tear to his eye; his darling, who’s been so strong for so long, who’s helped others... all while holding those worries...
just like he’s let down his walls and pretenses around them, he’ll encourage them to just let it all out; all their worries, their fears, voice them. he doesn’t think it’s “overreacting” or “exaggerating”- he knows how powerful and consuming dread can be
they’re scared and anxious, and he can see why- now, he wants to know how he can help. fearing regret from going home, fearing being here forever... he’ll do his best to express how strongly he believes his darling can thrive either way
the future is what they make of it, isn’t it? look at him- he was an useless crybaby octopus, and he’s come so far, hasn’t he? no matter what the future brings for his darling, he knows they can come out of it shining
of course, if for some reason they were to remain here in twisted wonderland, they have nothing to fear. he knows crowley will sort something out- he better- and it’s not like everyone has magic, there’s plenty of jobs and opportunities for people like them! they can count on azul’s charm and wit to open any door to any opportunity they may need; he swears he’ll do all he can to assure them a good life
kalim al-asim
kalim has rarely, if ever, worried over his future- it’s not as if he has his path set in stone, but... well, he lacks no resources to ruin his dreams, and he has a pretty good job set ahead as the heir of his family’s trading business. so hearing his darling vent their worries... he’s at a loss, at first
just because he’s a cheery and highly optimistic person doesn’t mean he doesn’t know how to listen or be understanding of problems he might not relate to. kalim is known to listen to students’ problems and comfort them- of course he’ll do the same for his beloved!
it’s a very complex situation, and he knows as much; is a return to their home even possible? do they want to return home having no memories of how it is, or would they rather throw that all away and remain here? he won’t bluff and act as if he knows what the correct answer is, but he’ll be sincere: whatever they end up choosing, they’ll probably have regrets... as well as a lot of joy!
also... well, he doesn’t know when his darling will even have to make that choice (crowley sure seems to take his sweet time even researching where they came from)- but... they don’t have to worry about that part of the future, either. kalim has no problem providing for whatever they need- a house? somewhere to further their education?
it’s not like he’s telling them to depend on him, although he has no problem with that: he just wants them to know he’s more than happy to help them stand on their own two feet so they can build a life for themselves!
vil schoenheit
when his darling begins to spill their worries, vil doesn’t even hesitate to break out the scented candles, massage creams, and expensive spa-day supplies. if his darling is going to lay their heart bare, he at least wants them to feel relaxed and safe
vil won’t pretend like the situation isn’t difficult, or sugarcoat anything. his darling is... probably the first person in all of twisted wonderland to be faced with such a difficult future, and that’s coming from a land where prophecies and magic exists
everything vil believes in is achieved through hard work; and he believes this is no different. while being able to return or not isn’t a card they can chose to play or not, if the time comes to chose, both options will require work. he’s 100% sure they can thrive in both their world and here- if they put in the work he knows they can
vil will emphasize how much potential his darling holds. can the future be uncertain and messy? oh, certainly. but no matter what life throws at them, they can stand strong and move forward. he knows they can
he’ll also make it quite clear that graduation won’t be the end of the world, even if crowley is gonna have to work overtime to figure out how to give an NRC graduation certificate to someone who can’t use magic. after all, not all fields of work NRC prepares them for are related to magic- for example, nothing stops them from being outstanding at alchemy or history, correct? there’s many jobs that might not even care about magic skills if their other skills are high
and... of course he’ll be there with them for as long as he can. while he can’t promise his help if they were to return to their world, he’ll be with them as much as possible- he himself has a pretty good future set ahead, and he knows he can easily incorporate his beloved into it
idia shroud
idia suffers from many anxieties himself- he knows how he’d like to be treated when he vents his worries, and so he treats his darling that way. a gentle listener, making sure they know he’s paying attention, but not interrupting
he’ll put his darling in an oversized hoodie and give them a warm drink to help calm their nerves- does it help? he just wants them to not feel overwhelmed, after dumping all their anxieties like that...
honestly, idia can’t even imagine what he’d do if he was in his darling’s place. they’re quite strong, to be dealing with all that stuff and still be so nice to others around them, huh?
he feels a bit bad; he... doesn’t have any sort of deep philosophical advice to help guide them down the right path, or any personal story to help calm them down- hell, he can’t even say they won’t regret anything because he knows he’d be lying, but...
... well, he knows his darling is capable of many things. wherever they go, wherever the fates bring them... if they continue being as they are, he knows they’ll be ok- they’ll be able to build a life to themselves. he has no doubt of this
he doesn’t want to make his darling feel like he’s telling them to be with him forever- you know, just in case they... end up returning to their home, but... he’s gonna inherit a pretty giant house back at home- so... if they were to stay... well, he thinks it’d be nice to live there with them; help them set up their life, find a job...
malleus draconia
malleus has seen empires be born and then die, kings rise to power and fall down- to him, the future isn’t a scary concept as much as it is just another reality of life. he feels like a constant in a moving world- a world that’s moving rapidly for his darling
their future... to malleus, it feels like it could happen at any moment: for his darling, a year is a long time, while for him, he’s lived through so many of them he’s almost lost count...
he fears he might not be the best person for this; ancient beings are supposed to be wise, but in this moment, he feels about as wise as a small child as he hugs his darling close and strokes their hair, comforting them as he can
to stay here, to go home... the question of if it’s even possible to return hanging in the air, the fear of regret and making the wrong choice... oh, child of man- there’s no wrong choice, he believes. the fact they ended up here is a mystery in itself: to do what their heart tells them in this scenario won’t betray them
don’t they know? they have the powerful malleus draconia by their side; anything he can do for them, he will. his power is no joke, either; whether it’s magical to aid in a return home, or just the fact he’s royalty and he can assure a good life for them... he’ll do anything for them and their happiness

Back to green - Dean Winchester x Reader
Title: Back to green
Pairing: Dean Winchester x Reader
Warnings: None
Prompt: hello! could you write a deanx reader one shot set in10x03? the reader helps Sam capturing Demondean, but while they are curing him the reader has to go help another hunter. When Dean is human again he ask about y/n and Sam and Cas tell him that she'll be home soon. But after a few days he start to think she has left beacause all the things he had done as demon. He is pissed with the guys because they aren't telling the truth. when they start arguing the reader come back and it's a happy end?
A/N: Yes, yes affter a tiring year I am finally getting th chance to write all the requests I got so long ago!
Tumblr media
“Hey fellas.” a small smile tugged at the corners of his lips as he was finally pulled out of darkness both literally and metaphorically. Staring up at his brother and best friend and feeling everything he did – feeling anything at all – had never crossed his mind as such a sweet relief but here it was. “You look worried.”
Sam let a soft laugh before speaking “Welcome back, Dean.”
They had both rushed to undo the ropes and he had never been more thankful for it. Not because they hurt but because they felt like they were still holding a monster down and he was many things in life but he wished, he prayed and hoped he wasn't a monster. Not the kind of monster he had been only a couple hours ago. You had tried so hard, spent so many nights awake jus to convince him he was only good, just to let him see that there was no monster in him – certainly not like the ones he hunted. And after all this time he was almost convinced, he was almost ready to see himself through your eyes and to see the good in him- if he found any that is, because it just wasn't as easy for him as it was for you.
It didn't help that images of what he had said and done flashed through his eyes. It didn't help that the guilt started building up inside his chest, making it harder for him to breathe. It didn't help the harsh reality dawned on him like a bucket of ice cold water. It didn't hep that when the thought – monster – ran through his mind, his eyes jumped up to the two other men's direction and didn't find you there. He frowned, his eyes moving fast to the door, only to feel disappointment and sadness slip deep into every cell of his body.
“Where's...” he cleared his throat, a little wobbly but able to stand on his feet “Where's (Y/n)?”
He took notice of the way they both seemed to freeze in their place and it did nothing to calm him down. He remembered, he remembered very well the things he'd told you while still a demon. He remembered all the things he came up with that could hurt you, could break your heart, anything to make you pull away from trying to take him back to Sam, to save him and in the end to cure him. When you injected the blood he had been particularly harsh – no longer caring for flirting because even as a demon he was very attracted to you – and the thought made him sick to the stomach. They were all lies. Big fat lies that made him want to punch himself for saying them, for being the reason you were in pain even though you had looked unphased by it.
“Wh- why hasn't she shown up yet? Or is she going to-?”
“Oh uh she's not here actually. As in, not in th bunker.” Sam cut him off a bit gently but no matter how he said the words, there was no version of Dean taking this calmly.
“N-not here? What the hell is that supposed to mean? Where did she go?” his voice raised a bit but not out of anger, there was absolutely no anger in it. Just desperation and fear, a kind of fear that shook him to the core and could be worse than any kind of physical pain he had endured in his whole life. Fear of you leaving him.
“She had somewhere else to be for a couple days, but she will be back soon.” Sam tried to sound reassuring, and maybe he was, but to Dean all those words only made him more on edge than he already was.
“That's not comforting Sam. Where is she exactly? And when is she going to come back?”
“Dean, (Y/n) is fine, alright? If that's what's worrying you the most then she is just fine. You know she can handle herself either way.” Sam shook his head.
“We have more pressing issues at the moment.” Castiel agreed but Dean only huffed.
“She's the most pressing matter. Always.” Dean clenched his jaw, eyes hardening but once more with no anger especially not directed at Sam. He had began to grow extremely scared. “Did she leave because of me?”
“What?” Sam blinked in surprise “No! No, Dean, this has nothing to do with it! Come on now, I think we all are a bit too worn out and you are overthinking.” his brother brushed him off.
“She should be here. She... I wanted her to. I needed her.” he almost ended up mumbling to himself, tearing his eyes away from his brother.
It wasn't that Dean didn't believe them. It was his brother and best friend for crying out loud. He trusted them with his life, there was no doubting that. But this time he had that small voice in the back of his head that kept telling him to have doubts. It took a while to realize that that small voice came from something far deeper buried in his chest and that was his fear of losing you. So, yes, it wasn't that Dean didn't believe them but he was having a hard time believing them and in the end? Yeah he didn't really believe them.
Because if their words were true then why were you not with him now?
Besides, it wasn't as if Sam or Cas had told him where exactly you were at the moment. Only that you were going to behome soon. Which also wasn't comforting on its own. Soon started out as a day or two and now had turned into over two weeks. And so it wasn't that hard for the fear, which he had felt from the first moment he opened his eyes as a human and didn't see you there, to settle in deeper.
Every time he woke up on his bed alone or every time he wanted to reach out for you because of how bad he needed you and you weren't there to comfort him, he felt his worry and fear worsen. His doubts kept growing and he was almost sure at this point that you weren't gone because you had something to take care of. He was almost convinced that he had hurt you to the point you didn't want or, worse, couldn't face him after that. He was also convinced that when you did show up, that was going to be it for him. You were going to break up with him, tell him that after everything he did when he was that- that monster made something snap inside you, something break, and there could be no fixing it. And there would be no fixing Dean either, because without you he was going to crumble down and even worse he was terrified to think he'd turn into a monster.
And he missed you, he missed you the way someone would miss air when they held their breath for too long because it was just so important for them to live. You were important for Dean to be able to feel alive likewise. But when the nightmares of his time as a demon came, when the nightmares of the pain he'd felt during the time Sam cured him came, and you still had not come to comfort him and hold him, Dean was sure he felt his life slipping right through his fingers.
He'd look at his bed and felt a painful lump form in his throat as his eyes welled up with tears that ended up burning him worse than holy water did when he was-- No. He kept telling himself to stop thinking about it. Because if he thought about it more then more thoughts would crawl into his mind about your absence and the lack of communication... at least when it came to him.
“Alright, yeah. Don't worry I'm making sure he's eating and resting.” a small pause on Sam's part “Come on (Y/n), don't worry about that too, we're doing just fine. We're all ok.” another small pause “Ok, good luck. Goodbye.”
“That was (Y/n)?” Dean didn't let a single second pass before Sam hung up.
“Uh yeah she said-”
“You were talking with her on the phone and didn't tell me? And why the hell has she been talking to you in the first place and not me? It's been days since she- she-” he couldn't stop his voice from raising but lately he's been more and more on edge.
“Whoa calm down, will you? She didn't have much time to talk, otherwise she would have talked to you as well. You- why the hell are you acting like this?”
“Why am I-” he started quoting his brother, his voice raising even more “Because she hasn't given me a single phone call. Because she hasn't picked up her damn phone, always keeping it turned off, no matter how many times I call her. Because when she decided to call, it's you who she talks to and not me and if I tried to talk to her then I'm sure she'd easily find another excuse about being busy.” he threw his arms in the air in exasperation.
“Dean I really think you're overreacting. Her phone's dead, that's why she can't pick up, and I'm sure if you asked to talk to her and she had the time to, she would talk to you. She's not... avoiding you or anything like that.”
“Oh yeah? Then why is it starting to feel like it?”
And it was. At first it bothered him, maybe even confused him, but then it tied in with everything he remembered saying to you and he saw it as another proof of you far too hurt to forgive him let alone be with him again. He really tried to believe Sam and Cas, really did for the first couple of days despite that small voice in the back of his head, but after all this time he felt like he had lost all hope. When his fear got stronger and he turned into being terrified he realized he was not far from losing his mind.
“She's not coming back, is she?” the words that rolled off his lips were in a hoarse whisper. But being spoken in the silence that had set amongst the three men meant they could be heard crystal clear.
“Wh-what?” Sam blinked, looking up from his computer as Castiel also looked up from his book. Dean still was the only one that had not looked up from his beer.
“(Y/n)- She's not coming back.” this time he looked up, shifting his jaw “And you know it.” both sentences were statements “And neither of you want to admit it.”
“No, Dean what are you talking about? We told you she will be back soon.”
“Yeah, Sam, you said that nearly ten days ago! Ten. Days. Ago! But so far no sign of her. And all I keep hearing is words of comfort. But if you would really want to do me a favor-- Stop lying to me!” he nearly roared and Sam's eyes widened. He got up and actually knocked his chair down in the process.
“Dean calm down, please.” Sam emphasized on the word, his eyes remaining wide as he looked at the expression on his brother's face. He looked like he was oiling for a long time now, but he was on th verge of bursting right now and Sam and Cas were sure they wouldn't like how it turned out.
“We're not lying about anything. Neither of us is. (Y/n) will be back-” Castiel started only to be interrupted by a very angry Dean.
“Soon. Yeah, heard that. 'Bout too many times, actually, and I'm sick and tired of it. You both know she won't be. And if she will then it's not going to end well. Something which you both know but won't fucking admit! Instead you're- you're feeding me all these lies about how she's busy but neither of you is being anywhere near clear about what all of- all of this “busy” is about. And the more I ask you the more you avoid my questions. And frankly-” he shrugged, shaking his head “I don't care anymore. Because I know.”
“Dean no you don't really. You can't understand what-”
“It's because of what I did as a demon. Because of what I said to her as a demon. It's because of all of it that I- I'm losing the woman I-” he felt like choking on his words but his voice kept raising more and more and Sam and Castiel were willing to let him yell, hopefully to feel better in the end “(Y/n) doesn't even want to see me and you see it's because of what happened but didn't say a damn thing because you know that's the reason why she's not going to talk to me, not going to want to see me, not going to want to ever come closer to me. You know Sam that's the reason why I've already lost (Y/n) and--”
But the following words got stuck in his throat when a fourth voice was heard, more specifically your voice. “Well, I didn't know I died already? Gotta say, I hope I make an attractive zombie.”
“Wh-what?” his voice came out very hoarse as he slowly turned his head to watch you walk down the stairs. It almost felt like his heart stopped beating. He was almost sure he was dreaming. This was too good to be true and his heart could barely take it.
“You know-” you dumped your duffel bag on the floor “Seeing as death is the only thing that can separate us. You're not getting rid of me that easily, Winchester.” the tenderness in your words and the fond smile on your lips made his heart want to jump out of his chest, too much hope for him to take. However when you noticed that he wouldn't dare give you a smile, yours fell as well. You frowned a bit and glanced at Sam “What's going on here? I barely heard anything.”
“Well, why don't you ask him yourself? I think there are a lot of things you two have to figure out.” he smiled a bit in relief, patting your shoulder “Good to have you back safe and sound, (Y/n).” he added before both him and Castiel were gone and left you too alone.
“Honey” you whispered “How are you?” cupping his cheek you saw him lean into your touch, his eyes fluttering shut within half a second and for a moment he looked so weak that you felt like he was going to crumble down any moment now.
“I'm sorry.” you added softly “I'm sorry I had to go so early. Gosh, I wish I didn't. I actually hate myself for not being here for you these days, especially now after you were... cured. I stayed until I was sure you were going to be back to your old self b-but then I had to almost jump in a car for fear of her life.”
“H-Her life?” he tilted his head to the side and you copied his movement.
“Yes. You know... Maria's? To help her with the case she took up. You know how she can get a bit uhm reckless when she's too excited about a case a-and I didn't want to leave her alone on this.” you said softly, but when you noticed how perplexed he looked you asked again “Wait- why? What did you actually think?”
“I- I was- I imagined that-” he blinked rapidly “I thought that you left... That you left me.” he clarified “Because of what I did. Because of what I was. Because of the monster.”
“Oh my God.” you blinked, your eyes widening and your heart nearly dropping to your stomach “No. No. Oh my- Oh my-” you choked on unshed tears. Your cradled his face in both your hands before you pressed your lips hard to his but with as much love and passion as you could.
“You and I should have a talk.”

Warnings: no specific warning... Is there any?
Disclaimer: Everything in this story is fictional. There is no research to be politically  accurate or to fit a certain period of time or place. In one word, it’s all invented.
Special thanks to my loyal and loving friend, that I love with all my heart. Princess @aspaceformyself I often tell you this but you are my safety net in that fic. Knowing you were reading me, made me explore a new way of writing. I wasn’t scared to make a mistake, I knew you would tell me id I did. And you did. When I was having a hard time, you were there to ask me the good questions. “Do you think yn would do it? Does it fit her personality? Isn’t she overreacting there? How is that possible”. Not because you told me I was bad or didn’t make sense. Juste because you made me reflect on my characters and plot. I am already overthinking. With you, I experienced overthinking x1000 :) But in a really good way. I think that my writing improved a lot and it’s a lot because of you.
Also, in chapter 18, my princess wrote a part. Like 2 or 3 paragraphs. Will you notice the difference in our writing??? :) I was imagining a scene in my head. I explained her and she said “hold on, can I give it a try?” And she did. It’s so perfectly written :) I love you, my sweet princess. You mean a lot to me.
Chapter 17
“The prince is coming, Cheon Ha, should I let him in as soon as he arrives?” the servant asked after he put your breakfast on the low table next to JiYong’s bed. Your bed.
JiYong wanted the moving to be done fast, he had sent his maids in your little room to pack and bring your few belongings. The night before yesterday, as soon as you arrived, JiYong had made you visit every little spot of his quarters as if it was the first time.  “Here’s our bookshelf. Here’s our dresser you can... oops we’ll have to get another one, this one is full! Here’s our backyard, here’s our fountain.” He had dragged you in every room of his quarters and made sure you would have your little spot in each. “If you want to rearrange anything, just do it. We can change the furniture, we can change the tapestry, whatever you want to, we’ll do it”. Of course, there was nothing you wanted to change. You were used to sleeping in a stable, outside or in a little ‘room’ made with mug and hay. There is nothing in JiYong’s room that wasn’t already perfect.
The servants bowed at both of you, still in bed. But you couldn’t get used to it, so you hide under the duvet.
“Yes, let him in, thank you” he answered his servant. The morning had been lazy, you had expanded the night a little longer than the king used to do. The servants left the room and JiYong covered you both with the blanket.
“Shhh, let’s pretend we are sleeping, let’s see what he will do” JiYong said, smiling.
Both of you hid your face from the door and kept your ears open. You were trying to figure where Channie’s little feet would bring him. It didn’t take long before you felt the little boy jump on the bed and crawled between you and JiYong, making himself enough place between your intertwined bodies. He laid down heavily on the blanket and stopped moving. After a moment, you cracked an eyelid, curious to see what he was doing.  His little fingers were toying his father’s hair as he’s other hand was reaching out towards you. JiYong had a content smile on his face. You couldn’t help but open your eyes wide and hold the little hand that was looking for yours.
“Father is sleeping, we have to stay quiet”.
“Ok, Channie” you whispered tenderly. Wanting a hug, he drew you to him with all his strength while he was still stroking his father’s hair. You could not have found the words to express your happiness at this precise moment.  Your heart was swelling.
“Do you love my father, Y/n?”
“Yes, Channie, I love him very much”.
“I love him too,” he stated, serious.
Yesterday, JiYong had a diner with him, the queen and you. He explained that from now on, you’d be living together. Channie had clapped his little hands and hugged you both, happy. He accepted you in his life as easily as that. His mother had congratulated you but she stayed quiet, thinking.
“Do you think that your father loves me too?” you asked with a low voice, curious to hear what the little man would say.
“Yes, I believe he does”
“What makes you believe it?”
He thought of it, for an instant.
“When he looks at you, his eyes sparkles just like when he looks at his pork chops”
“Yaaaah! Channie” JiYong burst into laughter! “I love her more than food, what are you talking about?” he was unable to stop laughing.
“Oh! Lord! Your child is amazing JiYong!” you couldn’t stop laughing either.
Pretending to be upset, he started a tickling battle with Channie. They laughed and squirmed for a while, lost in their own little world. You felt privileged to be witnessing such an intimate moment between father and son. When you saw them complot something, you tried to snake out of the bed but you couldn’t. You found yourself the victim of the king and the prince’s tickling assault.
“Stooooop! please! I surrender”
“She surrenders too fast abeoji, we have to make her more endurant”
“I agree Channie! We’re doing it for her own good after all”
Their fingers were running on your sides, making you cry and scream in laughter.
“You guys are the worst” you managed to say, between 2 breathes. Trying to balance the forces, you decided to use an arm against them. The tickling battle became a pillow fight that stopped only when you got interrupted by YoungBae, smiling under a rain of dancing feathers.
“Cheon Ha, we have to go, everybody is waiting for you”  He was very pleased to witness that domestic scene. Resigning himself to having to work, JiYong rose from the bed and kissed you both on the forehead before he quickly got dressed with the help of his maids. He left, escorted by YoungBae. Deprived of his laughter, his voice and his secure arms, you already missed him. Turning around to face the prince, you pat his hair.
“Let’s eat our breakfast, Channie”
“Not before I win the battle” He said right before he threw a pillow right in your face, giggling.
“Channie…” you took your serious tone “No my love, we have to hurry. Mr Kim will be coming soon. You’ll have your classes in the garden this time. Don’t think that I haven’t noticed Mr Kim was alone last time I sneaked in your apartments”.
“Oooh! Yes! I saw you! I was there… somewhere” he said, serious.
“Channie, it’s not the good time to escape. Please, promise me that you will listen to Mr Kim and stay by his side? Will you?”
“I’ll try my best, Y/n. I promise you I’ll try”.
“Oh! Lord! Like father, like son! What am I gonna do, with the both of you?”
“You’ll be just fine, you love us”, Channie answered, flashing his teeth.
“Aaaaw! I guess you’re right”!

By the end of the morning, you have received an invitation to meet the queen. Walking with your escort along the beautiful path, you couldn’t be happier.  It was a humid and cool day. There were dark grey clouds in the sky and the wind was blowing so furiously, it looked like it wanted to chase the summer and bring the fall in his furrow. It will be raining later, for sure. Most of the people you know would have qualified today’s temperature as dull. This dark atmosphere was poetry for you. It seemed like the seasons had agreed to change at the same time that your life took a completely new turn. Living with the king, your love, was definitely the biggest change you faced so far. The most beautiful one as well. And that your new position in JiYong’s life was accepted so easily by his son, lighten your heart.
There were only three problems that needed to be solved. MinHo. SoYoung. MiNa and HyunSa. When everything related to them will be solved, you’ll be completely happy.
You were welcomed by the queen’s servants and sewers from the village. They came to present to you, in secret, beautiful dresses, shoes, jewelry and hanbok. The queen said it was her welcome gift for you. She was happy that you were sharing JiYong’s life. She could have been jealous and tried to chase you away from him but she was genuinely happy for her friend. Even if the latter was her husband.
“Y/n, I was honest when I told you I want to know you better. To befriend you. Please accept it as a proof of my good intentions. I’ve never seen JiYong this happy, he smiles a lot now. He was not used to smiling. You make my friend a happy man and I cannot be more grateful for that’.
“This is a little strange, Mama. I’m not gonna lie. But, I’ll get used to it”.
“Thank you Y/n. Now, I have something really special for you. I want you to look at it”
Were spread out on her bed, 3 magnificent pieces of clothing in white silk, lace and satin that you had never seen before. It was so short and delicate, you couldn't imagine that someone could wear such things.
“What’s this?” you asked, dumbfounded.
“This, my dear, are 3 beautiful nightdresses that I may have made sew for you only. Nobody else in the kingdom has those pieces of clothing”
“But, it’s so small… it doesn’t cover anything and I’m sure we can see through it”
She laughed, genuinely amused by your naivety.
“Yes, it’s exactly the point! The only purpose of these is to please your man’s eyes. You wear it under your handbok and he’ll have a beautiful surprise when he discovers it on you. Or, if you’re willing, you wear it alone and surprise him wearing only that”
“You wear clothes like that?”
“Oh! Yes! Believe me, it pleased SoYoung eyes a lot” she was sad when she mentioned it but she collected herself. “It’s also common for the honeymoon night among nobles”.
“But do you think JiYong will love it? Isn't it vulgar?”
“It would please every man in this world. JiYong included. Well, maybe not every one of them, cause we all have our thing, right?!”
“I’m not sure Mama, I don’t want to be indecent”
“Take it with you, you can show it to him first, if you’re not sure. JiYong is open minded. Trust me!”
“I don’t know if I have the confidence to wear such a nightdress. I feel like I would ruin the expected effect” you said, caressing the soft fabric.
“Y/n, you are so beautiful, please don’t say that. Look at you! How can you not be proud of this pretty face? Of that body shape? It’s a shame. Plus, I noticed how our majesty looks at you… There is no doubt he found you beautiful as well”.
“Thank you Mama”.
“HyeJin, please. Call me HyeJin”.
The maids laid the new garments in silk paper and placed them in beautiful boxes. You let them bring your new things to your new room. You weren’t used to receiving gifts or even less being served. You took the time to thank everyone, including the Queen for this magnificent gift. She seemed trustful, after all.
You carefully unboxed everything yourself and placed it in the cupboard JiYong had liberated for you. You’ll think about the nightdress, you were not so sure about it. But you loved the affection mark HyeJin had for you.
During the afternoon, JiYong called you out in the executive room.  He wanted you to be there, when he would declare his new law valid. He wanted you to be by his side when he was giving the orders to his ministers. The moment was solem and touching. It was meaningful for you and you wished your friends would have been here to celebrate the official end of slavery with you.
The king had taken all the precautions to make sure the owners of the slaves would free them or send them to the palace. Not a single slave should be killed unless their masters want to receive the same treatment. He made sure to send a messenger on every single property that has slaves. Making sure each and every one of them would receive the good information.
“I’m so proud of you. So, so proud” you told him as soon as everybody had left the room. He was sitting on his throne while you were standing in front of him.  He reached out and drew you to him, his arms encircling your waist and his nose nuzzling your stomach while you played with his hair.
“Thank you my love. I couldn’t have done it without you. Without your work, the japanese emperor would be still receiving the wrong documents and not only there would have been even more slaves but we could have been in war, too. I’m grateful for your help and I’m grateful to have you in my life”
“I’m happy I helped Ji. Working with you on those documents was fun. I could work like that every single day of my life”.
“Actually, I might take your words. Would you like to be our official translator? You could translate the stories written by the authors. Like, people cannot read the japanese authors, right? You could translate in korean for them.  Countries have so much to learn from each other’
“Aaaw! This is such a good idea. Yes! I want to do it. I love to write, I love to use feathers and ink and parchment. And we could work side by side, when you are doing paperwork. I’m so happy! Mama was right, you really are open mind” You gently guided his chin up to kiss him.
“Oooh, you saw HyeJin? How is she? Still crying over the traitor?” he asked, half serious.
“She’ll be over him, hopefully. We should introduce her to TaeHyung. I’m sure they would be a perfect fit”.
“Yah! My woman is really clever! What a good idea”
You kissed him again as the thunder was heard, growling loud and long. The rain was about to fall. You had a thought for your friends, out on a mission to track down SoYoung. You hoped they were protected from the storm. The front door opened suddenly, making you jump even stronger than the storm. It was YoungBae, breathless. It’s your name that he called.
“Y/n! Y/n! You have to come here, please. Come fast. Run! You too, Cheon Ha!”
Trusting your man’s first counselor and principal guard, you obeyed without further ado. When you walked towards him, he bowed at you with his most genuine smile.
“Look” he said, he said, pointing in a direction.
Tae, Seo and the guards who had left for the mission arrived in the public square of the palace. All of them on their horses, their chin up in the air on their mounts.  It took you a few seconds to realise that on the horse next to Seo, was a tinier person holding a baby against her chest, held by a piece of cloth tied around her. HyunSa and MiNa were here.
“Oh lord! Oh Lord! Is this true?”.
You didn’t lose time and you ran towards them, followed by YoungBae. JiYong stayed behind, smiling tenderly at the scene. Not aware that the king was supposed to be the one welcoming the soldiers coming back from a mission, you exclaimed:
“HyunSa! MiNa! I can’t believe that you are here! Thank you! Oh lord! Thank you!” YoungBae helped her get down from the horse. You couldn’t hold your tears as you were hugging your friend carefully taking care not to crush MiNa.
“She is not even a bit happy to see us back” you heard Tae joke from behind her.
“Take MiNa out of that thing! I want to hold her too. Oh! My! God! Thank you” you cried with baby MiNa against your heart, big fat happy tears running down your cheeks. You patted her little back and kissed her cheeks while telling her how beautiful she was.
“She’s older now, but she didn’t gain a lot of weight, we’ll have to feed her. I’m so relieved that she’s here” not all the children born on the plantation survived those conditions. The majority died after their first months.
“It’s over now, it’s all behind us SaSa. You’ll see, we’re really happy here” you wanted to chase that sad look HyunSa had on her face. Now that you know MinHo wanted you back, you’re sure he took his revenge on the other slaves when you left.
“I know, Seo told me so many good things, about life on the palace. About the people here and in the villages around” she answered with a weak voice. She seemed tired and she had lost weight. A lot of weight. “By the way, as soon as I have the chance, I would like to ask an audience with the king. I want to give him my gratitude. I hope he will accept to meet me.” she didn’t notice JiYong’s presence although he was austentatory wearing his royal robe, his crown and his jewels. There was no doubt he was the king. He walked towards you but kept a certain distance.
“You don’t need to thank me HyunSa. It’s my duty as the King to take care of the people in my kingdom. I’m sorry I couldn’t bring you here sooner and that you had to suffer longer than your friends.” he exclaimed in a calm and assured voice, lowering his head in her direction. HyunSa’s jaw dropped open. She could never have imagined that the king himself would mingle with the people. Or even less that he could bow at her.
“SeoJoon, TaeHyung! Welcome back! I’m glad to see you again. I know a woman that will be relieved, now that her friends are reunited”. He smiled, looking in your direction.
Shocked, HyunSa looked at you. You smiled brightly at her. You were always a little surprised when you noticed the way people reacted to JiYong. But to see your friend, made you realise even more that indeed, it was the king that was sharing your life now. With his responsibility and his status. With the effect he has on people.
“Cheon Ha? Are you really the king? Please don’t look at me, I’m not presentable right now, I am covered in dust and mug” she said before she knelt down before him.
“It’s normal, considering you’ve been riding for a while. May I have a look on that little girl I have heard a lot of? She looks like you, SeoJoon, she has your dimples. What a beautiful baby!” He said, smiling brightly at MiNa.The affection oozing out of his eyes is making your heart melt.
There was a tradition in the kingdom that when the king holds a baby, the latter will be fortunate and live happily ever after. HyunSa knew it and she took MiNa from your arms and placed her directly in JiYong’s. Laughing, he welcomed the little girl and caressed her little hair tenderly. Your heartbeat fastened at the view, he must have been such a wonderful father when Chan was a baby.
“Welcome to the palace little MiNa. I wish you’ll have a happy and healthy life among us. I have the strange intuition that I will see you very often” he said, smiling in your direction.
HyunSa was crying happy tears, happy that her girl had received the king’s blessing. She also seemed confused about what was going on between you and JiYong. She had the feeling that it was more than an official relation. Damn Seo! He didn’t tell her while they were riding.
SeoJoon came by your side. He pushed TaeHyung who was hugging you, kissed your cheek and bowed at the king.
“Y/n, you look even more happy than when I left. I can’t wait for you to tell me what happened while I was away” He turned towards JiYong. “Majesty, we have to discuss as soon as possible. Jang MinHo is following us. He’s probably 4 or 5 hours behind. He didn’t like the way I took my wife back. You might receive his complaint.” He said, proudly encircling his wife’s waist. “We learned that your brother and chancellor Kyo had escaped in Japan. I’m sorry we couldn’t catch them”
“No worry about MinHo, the palace is already on high alert. You’ll tell me more about it later.  Go freshen up and eat in your old room for now. I’ll ask the maids to prepare a little house for you and your family. Would you prefer in the village or inside the palace border?”
“The closest I can be to my friend” HyunSa answered “Thank you Cheon Ha, we’ll be working hard to repay for all of this. Thank you so much”
“Love” he surprisingly called you, in front of Tae, Seo, HyunSa and YoungBae. Tae was lifting you in his arms again, turning around from happiness.
“Tae, our king is calling me” you said, tapping on his shoulder to have his attention.
“Nah, he’s talking to the queen. Ooooh…. Sorry, Cheon Ha” His eyebrows shoot up in surprise at the endearing way the king called you. But no sooner than that, it morphed into genuine happiness. Like it suddenly clicked into place and everything made sense. His boxy grin rapidly spread across his face as he dropped you back on the ground.
“Love, can you go with HyunSa? Mrs Lin will assign them a house. Can you help them with all they might need? You’ll be escorted, please don’t go anywhere without your guards”.
“Yes, I can do, of course” you shyly bowed at him. It was strange to be ceremonial with the man you share your bed with. But it was a little funny at the same time. He came over and whispered in your ear, so that no one could hear.
“I’ll come back later. Please stay safe, meanwhile. I love you”.
Closing your eyes in contentment when you heard those words, you told him you love him back. “so much…” You were trying the best you could to keep a poker face but every one that knows you could tell, the king had told you something that made you melt like jelly. As soon as his face moved away from yours, he was no longer your lover. He had become the king again, authoritarian, cold and serious. He left the public square place, escorted by Young Bae and his guards. The men needed to talk about the mission, about his brother and about MinHo. HyunSa came closer and poked your side.
“What’s going on between you and our majesty? How can he talk to you in your ear and you’re still alive? I would have died! He’s the king Y/n… This is amazing. And he’s so handsome, I never saw such a perfect face before, it’s almost like he has been drawn by the gods themselves!!”
“He’s handsome, indeed. Have you seen his piercing and intelligent eyes? And his cute smile? Aaaaw! It makes me feel warm, just thinking of it” you said, dreamily. “I know, he’s the king but... I was working with him, in secret. It's a long story that I will tell you later. But we were alone together for many days, working in his office. I got to know him, the real him. Slowly, something strong built between us and we fell in love with each other. To me, he’s just JiYong and we live together, now”.
“You call him by his name? Have you lost your mind? WHAT? You what?” she was shocked at your revelations, not processing any of it, yet. “I thought he was married already? Is the queen alive? What’s going on?” she asked, question marks all over her face.
“I’ll explain everything my lovely Sasa. Now, let’s go to your new house. I’m so glad that you are here. We’ll chat like we used to. Give me my little girl. I missed her so much”
“Is that really true, Y/n? Is this over for real?” HyunSa asked.
“You probably don’t know yet, it just happened. The king had sent messages all over the country. All the slaves will be free from now on. You are not a slave anymore, HyunSa. And your daughter will never be one, either”.
“Woah!  Can it be really the truth? What does it mean, exactly? How am I gonna live?”
“It means that from now on, you’ll be paid for your work, if you decide to have a job. Seo earns enough money for the three of you, you can rest as much as you want. It means that from now on, you have civil rights and the laws will apply for you too. I know, it may sound surreal, I couldn’t believe it either. But trust me, it’s all true. Our king is the greatest man I know.”
“I can tell… But it’s still hard to believe”
“You’ll get used to it, little by little. Come, you need to rest”
You followed Mrs Lin in the new house your friends will inhabit. The rain was flooding you but none of you noticed. The most important thing is that you were reunited, finally. And that slavery was forbidden from now on. Jang MinHo will never have any power on you, your friends or anyone. It was over.
Chapter 18
You have spent the rest of the afternoon at HyunSa’s house. When you arrived, you hid from Mrs Lin in a little spot in the house and told your friend everything between you and JiYong. She couldn't believe it! She was shocked. You held MiNa on you the whole time, it was almost as if the baby recognised you, which was impossible because she was so small when you left the plantation. But she felt safe in your arms and she smiled a lot, trying to grab your hair or your mouth with her little fingers while she was babbling.
EunMin, the official cook for the royal family, had come and brought something for MiNa. She had come by herself, which was surprising but in a good way.
“Duljjae mama (second mama, second queen), my husband has told me that there was a baby that needed to be fed. I personally prepared vegetable purees mixed with oat or barley.  You have variety so, depending on the baby’s preferences, you can choose. Tell me when you need more or if you have a special demand”.
“Duljjae mama? Why are you calling me like that?” you were shocked.
“We all call you like that since you live with our majesty, duljjae mama”.
“Oooh! I see. But there is no need to be official with me, I’m just Y/n. Ok? Please? I don’t want to be a queen!”
“I will try”.
“Come and sit with me would you? You’re YoungBae’s wife, right? I love him. He’s a genuine man. He’s protective of JiYong, sorry… of our majesty and me. You’re lucky to have him in your life”.
“He only has good words for you too, duljjae mama. He said you were bringing joy inside the king’s heart. If you have any special demand for your meals, please just let me know. I would like to add dishes that you like on the menu”.
“I’m sure that our little prince keeps you busy enough, already” you laughed. “But I’d like to share a cup of tea with you sometimes, if you want of course”.
“Ooooh! It would be my honour”.
You have given MiNa all the food she wanted, you let her drink as much milk as she needed. You wanted her to gain weight, she was so petite and delicate. You didn’t tell your friend who was mostly sleeping today but MiNa looked pale and sick. It concerned you.
“Mrs Lin, is there a way to bring the doctor here? I would like him to auscultate my friends, just to make sure everyone is completely fine”.
‘It’s not for you to ask, miss. It’s an order the king, the queen or the prince have to give”.
“Hum Hum,” Jiyong cleared his throat from behind you. You turn around with a surprise to see Jiyong arrive with Seojoon at his heels as people shuffled around and scattered about the room to make room for the king. Upon arrival, Jiyong’s eyes scanned the room as they automatically settle on you. A tender smile gracing his lips. Almost like, everyone else in that room was insignificant compared to your presence.
“From now on, you will be taking orders from Miss Y/n too, Mrs. Lin,” He stated, a firm stance in his voice, his gaze was not directed at her, but his tone proved his authority, “She is someone important to me, the woman I’m sharing my life with. Therefore, I would like it if you obey her as well. I’m sure she will have reasonable demands.”
You shyly looked up at Jiyong at the overwhelming love and consideration he showed towards you. This was probably the first time he acknowledged your relationship among people who aren’t you, the queen or the little prince. It made your heart flutter and you couldn’t tear your eyes away from his. If you weren’t surrounded by so many people or if you were in the privacy of your quarters, you were pretty sure, you’d probably just jump him and kiss him stupid.
Out of the corner of your eyes, you were sure SeoJoon being the protective older brother he was, was sending the King, “You better take care of my sister or I’ll kill you”, glances. To which Jiyong just sent him another reassuring smile. The whole thing was so adorable, you weren’t sure if your heart could take more of it in the time span of one single day.
“Yes, CheonHa” Mrs Lin said, bowing as she left the room backwards. EunMin left with her, with the promise to come back tomorrow to check on the baby’s eating and health evolution. She kept you company today and she was adorable, you were happy that you got to know her. JiYong came closer and whispered in your ear so only you can hear: “Mrs Lin is the mother of one of my ex-courtesan. I guess she has a little something against me. Don’t take it personal, love”.
It was already the evening, the day went so fast! SeoJoon stood in front of you and reached his arms to have his daughter.
“Thank you, Y/n, thank you CheonHa. I too, would like to know if everything is fine with my girls”.
HyunSa, who had slept ever since she arrived, came by her man’s side. He drew her to him with one arm and placed his hand around her waist. You were never used to seeing any affection marks between them, Seo being private most of the time. But he missed her so much, he probably couldn’t help himself.
“Do you think you’ll have one baby on your own?” he teased you and JiYong. The comment made you sad. Considering your life on the plantation, you had come to the conclusion that you couldn’t get pregnant.
“I don’t know… Seo, don’t talk about it” you shyly said, uncomfortable.
“Love, I don’t have to hide my feelings here, right? So let me kiss you. I’ve missed you so much the 3 hours we were apart” He said in front of still under shock HyunSa. He drew you to him and kissed you, his arms encircling your waist. You tenderly combed his hair with your fingers. You couldn’t resist their softness. You hid your nose in the crook of his neck as soon as your lips parted.  SeoJoon couldn’t contain his joy.
“Yes, they will certainly have little babies real soon”. he joked.
“That would make me very happy,” the king said, smiling at you.
Three little knocks were heard. YoungBae and TaeHyung came in, agitated. Even if the situation was serious, Tae took one second to kiss MiNa’s head and pat her little back.
“CheonHa, MinHo had killed a guard in the woods. He stripped him of his clothes. We think he stole his uniform to get closer to the palace without making waves.  HaeChoo was making a round in the woods, he found the guard, he died in his arms”. Curiously, it’s Tae that delivered the message to the king. Not YoungBae.
JiYong was furious. He should have never let him go. But he had nothing that justified his detention and he didn’t want to become this kind of king. The ones who let his hatred rule the kingdom. But he regretted his decision. Pinching the bridge of his nose, he closed his eyes.
“Who’s dead? he wanted to know.
“EunMin’s brother” YoungBae answered.
“Oh, noooo!” you exclaimed. “Your wife’s brother?”
“Yes, duljjae mama. She doesn’t know yet, I’ll tell her as soon as I have the permission to leave”
The name surprised the king, Seo and Tae but none of them said anything about it.
“I’m sorry for your loss, YoungBae. He was a brave soldier, as far as I know. Too young to die…” Jiyong said.
“I guess, you’ll have another meeting tonight? I think I will go visit your wife after she knows, if you don’t mind YoungBae. I don’t want her to be alone in times like this”.
“No, no, no! There is nothing we can do for tonight. YoungBae, we’ll meet at the first hour tomorrow morning. You go and take care of her, we’ll handle the rest for now. Tae, you’ll be in charge of the operations for the night.  I want the soldiers to do their rounds in groups of three or four. They also have to stay close to the border. Seo, Tae, I want you to assist tomorrow. We’ll be discussing military strategy. I count on you”.
“Yes, CheonHa” they answered in one voice.
“Good. Now, everybody else but Tae, you take the rest of the night, it’s an order. We all need to rest, the last couple of days were hectics”.
‘Yes, CheonHa”
You called YoungBae before he left:
“I met EunMin today, she’s a lovely person. If I can do anything for you and for her, please don’t be shy to ask me. I’m really sad for you, I know what it is to lose his family”.
“Thank you, I appreciate it. I will be going, if you don’t mind. It will be a tough night”.
Tae left along with YoungBae. He was clinging to his arm, like if he wanted to comfort him. You heard them exchange some words before they left in different directions. Turning to your man, you took his hand in yours and spontaneously kissed his palm, something you never did before.
“You’ll rest too, Ji. You need to sleep as well”.
“Yes, love! I’ll obey you” he joked.
He kissed your temple under the ‘whews’ and the ‘oooh’ of Seo.
“Are you sure, their arrival is a good thing” JiYong asked, forcing himself not to laugh when he noticed their stunned faces “I have the feeling that they will be teasing us way too much for my liking”.
“Yeah, give them a mission far far away from here’ you add, playing along with your man.
“Good idea! Come home my love. Let’s plot something as we go home” he joked and you left, your arm under his.

“You’re overthinking– I’m yours. That’s all I want to be.” and none other than Cu Chulainn
//Because I'm a really big dumbass, this is long overdue. @coldpalaceee, I'm sorry if this isn't as good as it deserves to be...I am loving these prompts, and I hope I haven't deterred you from requesting more! (...God I work slow - )
------
I'm overreacting.
...Well, that wasn't new, was it? You had always been shy, and awkward, and clumsy, and just so many things you knew you weren't good at or lacked.
The fact that you knew you were overreacting made it ten times worse.
You stared at your boyfriend, the one and only Cú Chulainn, who was making small talk with the (pretty attractive) waiter as you both waited for your meals. You weren't at a fancy restaurant, no; your poor heart couldn't take the stifling formality that came with going to fancy places.
You tended to avoid them like the plague.
So, once you brought it up that you wanted to go somewhere with Cú that wasn't a fancy place, he patted your head and gave you a sun-filled grin that temporarily made your anxiety dissipate. He was always good with that, the comfort; it was like he knew exactly what to do when you clammed up or started to get lost in your own thoughts, resulting in you making more mistakes on whatever you were doing.
You both decided to go to an out-of-the-way cafe, the very same one where you two first met.
He had done so much for you already. Time and time again, he went out of his way to make you comfortable. You honestly wondered why he even wanted to hang around you, much less date you.
So, you presented the idea of this particular outing to him as a treat.
You were supposed to be the one making him feel good. You were supposed to be the one to make him feel comfortable.
He's been talking to this waiter for five minutes... Your gaze became downcast, eyes boring holes into the menu in front of you. You could hear the waiter laugh at a particular joke, one you recognized Cú telling you not even a week ago.
Despite the swirling unease in your stomach, you slightly smiled. Cú always had a tendency to tell other people stuff he learned with excitement that could affect even the most depressed person. He's like a puppy; it's...cute.
Not that you'd ever call him a puppy to his face.
" -ight, (Y/N)?"
"H-Huh?" Your gaze snapped back up to Cú, who was waiting for an answer. You scratched the back of your head, sheepish. "Sorry...what did you say?"
He gave you an odd look, repeating his question. "I said that this cafe is always a treat to go back to, right?"
You blinked, answering with a question of your own. "Was-...Was that supposed to be a pun?"
Now it was Cú's turn to blink, pondering for a fee moments. He then chuckled, the light sound making you smile as butterflies danced in your stomach. "I guess it was! I mean, the sweets here are incredible."
His eyes searched around the cafe, and your traitorous mind whispered that he was waiting for that extroverted waiter to come back, because unlike you they could keep a steady conversation with him without tripping over their own words like the failure they are -
"(Y/N)."
You returned your focus to Cú at his tone, a small frown on your face. The odd look was back on his face as crimson orbs scrutinized you. "What's wrong?"
You tensed. "Wh- ...Uh, nothing's wr- "
"Don't lie to me, (Y/N)." The intensity of his stare was still there, but now some exasperation was mixed into it. "You always occupy your hands with something when there's something on your mind."
Sure enough, you looked down to see that you were playing with the strings of your black hoodie. You had chosen dull colors so that you didn't stand out, while Cú wore a yellow sweatshirt and light blue jeans that you, admittedly, was better than the eye-damaging but endearing Hawaiian shirt he always had on hand; he stood out, and you blended in.
You wanted to scream. No! This was supposed to be the outing where you looked after Cú and coddled him, reassuring him with soft words and hand holding and so much more -
But you messed it up, like always, and he should honestly just dump your stupid ass already.
"O-Oi, I didn't mean to make you upset by that!" Cú had searched for a way to reassure you, since you looked tense enough to simply break at the slightest misstep. "It's just...I want to know what you're thinking, that's all. What's up?"
Your mind raced a mile a minute. Okay, you were definitely overreacting, but you couldn't stop yourself from spiralling further. Your mouth decided to betray you by blurting out, "Why are you even here?"
Ouch. You scrambled for a remedy, but it was too late. You watched a flicker of hurt cross his face before the confusion set in, and at this point you were mortified.
"I-I mean - !" You spoke frantically, frustrated with yourself. Why did you say it like that? Of course he got the wrong idea! Your hands balled into fists, pausing their motions.
Everything was falling apart, and it was because you couldn't muster up even a scrap of courage to tell him properly.
"I phrased that wrong. Oh god, I didn't - I didn't mean - "
"(Y/N)." You looked up. Cú gave an exasperated huff, but he was smiling. "Seriously, it's cool. I understand; just chill out for a sec, and tell me when you're ready."
"Why?!"
Your second outburst shocked him. He opened his mouth to continue, but you weren't waiting for a response; you figured hey, may as well drive the stake in further.
"Cú, you're so...vibrant. You're vibrant, understanding, way smarter than Gilgamesh gives you credit for, exuberant, witty, confident, encouraging, endearing, and just...so much more. Looking at you is like looking at a literal miniature sun, because you stand out and despite the odds being stacked against you, you somehow manage to find the silver lining in a bleak situation.
"Meanwhile, I'm...not nearly as amazing. I'm pretty forgettable in a sea of faces, I'm quiet, awkward, clumsy, I make at least seven mistakes each day, insecure, overbearing, bad with words, and I'm nowhere near as confident as you are. I usually bring the mood down, and I have low self-esteem."
Cú really looked like he wanted to say something, but was restraining himself. You continued, not seeming to notice his struggle.
"Seeing you talk to the waiter from before made me realize that I...I could never be as good as you. Well, I guess what I'm trying to say is that I don't know why you're dating me when there's other people like the waiter who could easily hold a conversation with you. There's so many wonderful people out there who would be better, and I always screw things up and cause you more trouble than you need since you always have so much on your plate already - "
"I chose you."
"Hah?" You stopped, gaze snapping back up to meet his. Cú's eyes were narrowed, his mouth a thin line as he glared.
You swallowed. Did...Did you just piss off the Cú Chulainn?
"I chose you." He repeated. "You, and no one else. Honestly, (Y/N), what am I going to do with you?"
You closed your mouth, a pained expression quickly making itself known on your face. Yet again, you made him comfort you instead of the other way around -
"Since you don't see what I do, I'm gonna have to pound it into that pretty little head of yours." Pink dusted across your cheeks as his irritated expression gave way to the grin you knew belonged to him and only him. It was sharp and wild, yet filled with so much glee and kindness that you slowly began to unwind your tightly balled hands.
"Yeah, you may be all of those things, but so what?"
"...Huh?" You peered at him, dumbfounded. Didn't...Didn't that just prove your point?
"Nope, it's my turn to talk." Cú held up a hand, and you vaguely registered your food being put in front of you and a "Have a nice day" in favor of listening to your boyfriend.
"If a human didn't have their flaws, then they wouldn't be human, now would they?" He continued. "Which, by the way, I find yours adorable. You're sarcastic and witty once you get enough confidence, mischievous, think more with your brain than rely on instinct, and you have such a big heart that there's no way a sane person could hate you.
"(Y/N), you look around and you see so much more than I think I could ever, and then the most breathtaking look gets into your eye as you appreciate what you're seeing. The best part is that it happens randomly; what I wouldn't look twice at, you take into your hands and go over it with a lot of care. You'd think that you were holding a baby bird with a broken wing from how you hold things. You have bursts of optimism that come and go, and when they do it's hard to even get mad at you.
"Most of all, (Y/N), you...ground me." He scratched his cheek lightly, looking over to the side.
You gaped. Was he...embarrassed? Each compliment had you sinking further in your chair, hands covering your beet red face.
"Yeah, you bring the mood down, but...not in the way you think. Ah, damnit, why is this so hard to say?! ...You're calming, and you help me not get too carried away with whatever the hell I'm doing. Imagining myself without you here is impossible at this point."
"Cú, just -...just stop, goddamnit," You groaned into your hands, wanting nothing more than to melt into a puddle and evaporate. "I-I get it, you love me. But...why the compliments?"
Cú rolled his eyes, leaning over to pry your hands away and giving you a quick but loving peck on your forehead. "Like I said, I had to beat it into your skull somehow. Don't you ever think that you're not worthy, or some dumb bullshit like that. Despite my flirting, I'm a loyal guy; I wouldn't leave you."
You stared at him. "Loyal...like how you were staring at that one couple's asses on the way here."
You didn't even realize that you didn't stutter through that entire sentence. Cú laughed at your retort, at least having some bit of shame to look sheepish. "What? When you see an ass that doesn't lie, you can't help but admire it."
"Cú!" You were laughing at this point too (since he was right - their asses were fine), but you still lightly punched his shoulder from across the table.
He grinned, a twinkle in his eyes. "There's the (Y/N) I know and love."
You spluttered. "Cú Chulainn, I swear if you say one more sappy thing - "
He reached over to hold your hand, making you pause. "Yeah, about earlier? You're overthinking - I'm yours. That's all I want to be."
This time, you were the one to lean over the table (and your untouched food) to kiss him.

𝓓𝓮𝓪𝓻 𝓒𝓪𝓽𝓱𝓻𝓲𝓷,
It’s about time I finally expose myself in 30 points. I’ve wait soo long for that moment ,, hooray
1. I don’t have second nor even third names, just one, sadly
2. I have a submechanophobia.
3. I’ve recently got a new bed.
4. My PC doesn’t have an integrated CD player
5. I tried smoking but it didn’t appeal to me so I didn’t continue.
6. I’m actually a shipper although my main interest lays in opposite gender. I don’t know how that’s even possible yet it is.
7. I get startled and annoyed when people show interest in my culture/ country I’m from. Which I can’t account for myself. In my understanding it is sick showing interest in a country that did literally every even little thing wrong. I’m sorry it failed me, so when people unaware of what’s actually going on in there admit to their fascination by it I feel agitated.
8. I think german is a cute language, so everyone who thinks otherwise can piss of. Just type those words in the google translator and let it pronounce them: Milch, Brötchen, Schönheit, Flügel, Frucht, Kirsche.
9. I develop crushes so easily, you can bring some of your folks to a hangout and I be like damn, i feel the connection, where in fact they just were being nice.
10. I’m a professional overthinker. Hand me the grant already.
11. My English pronunciation is so bad my 7.y.o. brother corrects me all the time and he isn’t even a native speaker.
12. I often forget how old I am but sadly i don’t have any wekepedia site yet to check it there HAHA.
13. Both me, my grandmother and her bestie have the same name.
14. My mother is officially a crackhead. She pulls off things that make me reconsider every life choice made so far.
15. I find it weird how people pronounce Zeus. Resembles German süß very much.
16. I hade other expectations of high school but whatever. At least someone has fun there.
17. I genuinely don’t believe some pussies in my school have the nerve to do coke in school restrooms. Nah, all talk.
18. My school is promoted as lgbt-friendly, which I assume is only due to the manager’s orientation but who knows. We’re pretty cool here indeed.
19. I’m bad at handling arguments and get all emotional and whiny.
20. Although I have never developed crushes on people who would be physically unable to like me back, I was never liked back yet. That’s so weird, like, even If the person’s also queer it ain’t different. Life’s a bitch.
21. I roast people but then get nervous and check on them just to be sure they don’t feel too bad. That’s so pathetic istg.
22. I have broken both of my arms back in the days.
23. I live by the quote “if you know the question you can figure out the answer”. Meaning that mostly we can’t solve a problem because we don’t know where to start and the second we define it, we can find a solution.
24. I hate the color red.
25. Most of my furniture is red.
26. I never learned to cook and always experiment. It turns out mostly tasty, some times not so tasty.
27. I’m not socially competent and stick to the INFP stigma.
28. I believe some ships could be real. Now don’t overreact. Of course the most of idols and stars are straight and etc. in kpop for example there have been cases with relationships within the groups. this one for example is very much like a fanfic, with betrayal and all that. So it makes it possible for other group-members be dating each other. Which most of them wouldn’t do either way bc of their bond and all that crap. But still!
29. I can play flute
30. I love mangoes.
Now, your turn to fess up

Begin Again Ch.2 (m)
Jaehyun x Reader smut, angst, fluff
word count: 2,542
warning: swearing
x
After you texted Jaehyun, you made something to eat, took a relaxing shower and went straight to bed, cuddling your dog until you fell asleep. The next morning you woke up an hour before your usual time and couldn't fall asleep again.
You unlock your phone and see a new message from Jaehyun
[New message from Jaehyun]: “Yeah, it's fine by me too. Sorry I didn't text you back last night, I was exhausted and fell asleep as soon as I got home,” you are typing a reply when you get a new notification
[New message from Jaehyun]: “Are you up yet? We could meet to grab a coffee and talk a little, maybe?” You weren't expecting that so soon but get excited anyways, “I know we barely talked but I'm kind of old fashioned and I like to talk in person lol.” Cute.
[New message to Jaehyun]: “Hi! I'm up and don't worry about last night, it happens to me all the time lol Coffee sounds great! Just send me the address and I'll see you in a bit?”
He texts you the adress, turns out that the coffee shop was near the bakery where you worked, which was great and could save you some time.
You take a quick shower and put on your clothes. A jeans overall, a plain black t-shirt and your snickers. You have never been a fan of heavy make up, you hated wasting more time than necessary in the morning and definetely did not like the sensation of having tons of different products on your face, so you just apply a thin layer of mascara and head out to the coffee shop. On your way there you remember to text Luna
[New message to Luna]: “wake upppppppppp. i'm omw to grab a coffee with Jaehyun. maybe i'm expecting too much but whatever. he seems nice and made the first move (:” you hit send and giggle to yourself. You know Luna will be pissed because Jungwoo haven't took the first step yet, neither did she. They both liked each other but were too shy to admit it.
You get at your destination first, finding a couple sitting at the corner of the small store and two people waiting in line. Since it was too early in the morning and the coffee shop was still empty, you pick a table and decide to sit close to the door. You don't know Jaehyun’s preferences and don’t want to seem rude drinking and eating before him, so you choose to wait. You take your phone out of your purse and see that you have 4 new messages from Luna and 1 from Jaehyun. You read his first.
[New message from Jaehyun]: “Hey, I'm sorry I'm late, I'm on my way. One of my roommates was not feeling well and I had to help him”
[New message to Jaehyun]: “No problem. I walked here and the place is near home, so don't worry, you're not late. And hey, there's only me and a couple sitting here, so it shouldn't be hard to find me lol,” you text him and open Luna's chat
[New message from Luna]: “wHAT”
[New message from Luna]: “i’m kinda jealous tho”
[New message from Luna]: “anyway GOOD LUCK ALEJDKSLSLDJ”
[New message from Luna]: “Jaehyun looks >>>really<<< good and he is very sweet,” you both overreacted a little bit at times, so you choose to believe Jaehyun was just a normal guy and Luna was being, well, Luna, “he has this cute bread face and the cutest dimp–“
“Y/N?”
You slowly look up and your eyes widen in shock
What the fuck.
You see the personification of an angel in front of you. Jaehyun is beautiful. He is wearing a striped purple flannel and black jeans. His chestnut hair is styled down and makes him look like a teenager. Your eyes grow big at his striking features and how his tongue pokes out to wet his lower lip.
You must've spent a lot of time looking at him, cause you hear him calling your name again
“Y/N, are you okay?” The owner of the deep voice asks, making you snap out of your trance
“Y-yes! Hi! Sit down!” you gesture to him, a little embarrassed
“I’m sorry I'm late, I had to make sure my roommate was alright before leaving” he apologizes and you just nod, not completely out of your astonishment
“S-sure, don't worry about it, I've been here for a couple of minutes, so you're fine! But is your roommate okay?”
“Yeah, he is, thanks for asking. He got wasted last night and wasn't feeling well,” he half smiles and a fucking dimple appears on his cheek. “But tell me about you, we literally know nothing about each other other than our names.”
“Yeah, you're right! Well, I work at a – wait, we haven't ordered yet,” you realize and ask him what he wants
“A medium iced Americano, please” he smiles briefly and you walk to the cashier ordering an Americano for him, a capuccino for yourself, and two chocolate cookies. You wait for your name to be called and text Luna in the mean time
[New message to Luna]: “YOU COW, WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME THAT JAEHYUN IS A GOD? HOW DARE YOU?” You text her and remember you didn’t finish reading her last message. She actually mentioned his dimples and how sweet he was, but she also said that he doesn't open up easily, which intrigued you. You were about to ask her why when the barista calls your name. You lock your phone and put it into your pocket. You thank the guy and go back to your table.
Jaehyun is messing with his phone and you put his coffee and the cookies in front of him
“Thank you, Y/N, I should pay you back,” he takes his wallet out of his pocket
“No! It's on me, don't worry,” you tell him, he nods and thanks you
Jaehyun told you he is an elementary teacher, which surprised you, but he explained that he has a niece that he adores, and she made him want to work with kids. Also, he said that he's turning 25 in a few days but wasn’t going to celebrate it because he isn’t a party person anymore. He also mentioned his roommates, Johnny and Jungwoo. They've met at college and have been living together since then. Other than that he didn't mention much about his personal life. You didn't want to pressure him, this was your first proper conversation, he didn't have to tell you everything about him.
“So, now tell me about you,” Jaehyun says and drink his coffee
“Well, my name is Y/N Y/L/N, I'm 22 years old, I work at a bakert. By the way, you should stop by some day, it's just a few blocks from here,” you suggest
“Sure, that sounds cool! How long do you work there?” he asks and you start to feel melancholic
“Well, I have always loved cakes, that shouldn't be a surprise cause who doesn't?!” you joke and laugh, Jaehyun laughs too and nods, agreeing with you, “so when I was younger, my grandpa taught me my first recipe,” you start talking and glance at Jaehyun. He looks adorable. His bangs are spread all over his forehead, his hair look really soft.
You've noticed that everytime he was focused paying attention, his mouth stayed slightly opened and he nodded unknowingly. He was attentive, you liked that about him.
“So thanks to him I started taking baking classes. After a year I decided that I wanted to work work with it and tried to find a job related to it. It wasn't easy, I was young, inexperienced and honestly didn't have anything to offer, but I wanted to learn. So one day I met June.” Jaehyun notices that you started bitting your bottom lip and avoiding eye contact
The thing about being an elementary teacher is that they deal with different kids everyday, so they are aware of the fact that every kid reacts to a situation differently. Some of Jaehyun students had the habit of fidgeting with their legs when they were nervous, others, with their hands. One of the girls had the habit of curling the strands of her hair when she was overthinking. One of the guys couldn't look at Jaehyun's face when he was lying. Jaehyun payed attention to all of that and he noticed when you started to get uncomfortable talking about June.
“Y/N, you don't have to talk about–” he starts talking but you interrupt, “No, don't worry, I wanna talk. It's just, I haven't talked about this in a while but it's okay” you tell him.
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, I am,” you assure him. “I lost my grandma when I was a baby, so I don't have memories of her other than pictures and some stories that my granpa told me, so June was kind of my grandma figure” you gaze at Jaehyun and feel that he's actually listening to you, not just hearing, “she was my first boss, she had taught me everything I know now.” You remember how difficult it was to convince June that you were willing to learn what she had to teach you. At first, you helped her with anything she needed in exchange of her teaching you about baking and confections. After a year and a couple months, and a lot of pleads, June had let you put your first cake at the bakery's display. You still remember how you felt when she told you that you had sold your first cake
“June told me her secrets, how to treat the customers properly and she gave me a lot of advices that I will carry with me forever,” Jaehyun was smiling sweetly at you. “She treated me like her granddaughter. But she nagged a lot at me too,” you two laugh and you carry on, “but everything I know now is thanks to her.”
“What happened to her?” Jaehyun questions
“She passed away a couple of years ago.” You see Jaehyun's eyes widen
“Oh, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked,” he apologizes
“It's okay,” you smile, “It was a difficult time but she always said that I should be a strong woman and learn how to deal with shit life throws at me, losing a loved one being one of them” you lock eyes with Jaehyun and he nods
“But anyway. June didn't have any inheritor, so she left the bakery to me,” Jaehyun seems surprised, and to be honest, so did you when you found out that you were the owner of the place that you loved so much
“Really?!”
“Yes, really. I don't like to say that I'm the owner of the place because June started everything, she started from the bottom, so I really don't feel like I own it. Legally, yes, but it's only because of her,” you explain to him. “I only told you this because you are cute and a good listener,” you flirt a little and you could see his dimples showing on his cheeks
“I’m glad you feel comfortable enough around me to tell me about it”, he says and smiles, allowing you to see for the first time the crinkles on his face. They make him seem adorable
“I think my story took longer than I expected,” you joke, “but I should go. I need to open the bakery and I don't want you to get late either” he agrees and you two get out of your seats, heading to the door.
“I'm glad we talked today, Y/N” Jaehyun starts talking, “I didn't want you to feel forced to talk to me only because your friend wanted you to,” he seems genuine, “but I'm happy you texted back and we had this, mmm, kind of date?!” his ears turn red, and you find that extremely lovable, but agrees nevertheless
“I didn't want you to feel forced either. To be honest I wasn't expecting us to meet so soon but I'm happy we did, and I hope we can keep talking?” you enquire. “Sure, that sounds good” he agrees and tells you he would text you later. You wave him goodbye and head to your work.
Jaehyun was easy to talk to. You noticed that he was kind of shy, and more of a listener than a talker, but he was willing to have a conversation with you and you felt lucky for that. It was a good way to start your day.
You walk a few blocks until the bakery and see that Mark is already at the door waiting for you
“Hi fat head,” you greet him and he pouts while you unlock the door
“Hey, my head is not that big, ok?” He whines
You roll your eyes and smile to your friend, “Sure, baby,” you both enter the bakery and Mark goes straight to the cash register.
You hired him after he mentioned how hard it was to find a job. You have always found Mark smart and fully capable and you trusted him, so you offered him a part-time job as a cashier, since he had to go to college and take care of his younger brother sometimes.
It was good to have him working with you. You never said it out loud, but you felt happy whenever Mark was around. After Luna tried setting you both up, you two decided to stay friends. He still flirted with you sometimes, but in a friendly way. He had made clear that he adored you and loved being your friend, and said that maybe you didn't feel attracted to him because you were meant to be just friends. You agreed with him.
You go to the kitchen and start reading your orders for the day.
After hours, you take a moment to rest. You have always loved baking, it put you in a good mood. There was moments in your life were you randomly went to the kitchen, to divert your mind out of a concern and relieve stress. You love what you do.
You look for your phone and notice that you have a new message from Jaehyun
[New message from Jaehyun]: “Thank you for today, I had a pleasant time. I hope we can get to know more about each other,” you crack a smile and start typing a message to him when Mark comes rushing through the kitchen’s door
“Y/N... there's a, mm... customer, demanding to talk to you,” he sounds anxious and you wonder if there's something wrong with one of your cakes
“Did something happen?”
“N-no, he just, wants to talk” You barely had any problems with your orders. Every time a mistake happened it was due to the lack of explanation from the customer, not yours.
“Why are you so agitated?” You said, heading towards the front of the store, with Mark following your steps, “If you did something wrong tell me now and we can fix it”,
“No, I didn't do anything, I promise, it's your–“ Mark was interrupted by a voice, a voice that you have never forgotten
“Y/N!”
No. No. No.
Note: hi! I hope this isn't too boring, i wanted you guys to know more about y/n and a little about Jaehyun lol hope you like it, thank you for reading and feel free to send asks!

My Side of the Fence Part Seventeen: A.M. Imagine
For those concerned about a heartbreaking moment, it does not appear in this chapter (this one actually turned out quite fluffy!) but it is on its way. This chapter kind of sets up that moment. That’s as spoilery as I’ll get since this is all still a work in progress and ever-changing! Thank you for following along. I love when you send in ideas that fit these characters SO well; it’s like you’re in my head!
ALSO - to the anon who sent in the Vance Joy “I’m With You” song association, thank you! I thought this would be an appropriate time, for those who are unaware, to mention that this story is semi-based off of “My Side of the Fence” by Dan+Shay whose latest album is on repeat for me. Highly recommend listening to it! :)
One Two Three Four Five Six Seven Eight Nine Ten Eleven Twelve Thirteen
Fourteen Fifteen Sixteen
For the first time in a while, Savannah was uncomfortable in Auston’s presence. She could tell he was deep in thought, gripping the wheel so tightly his knuckles were white. While she wanted the conversation they needed to have to be over with, she knew that it wouldn’t be wise with him in this current state.
“So how come you didn’t drink tonight?” Savannah asked, trying to break the tension.
“When you said you were coming and that you might drink, I wanted you to be able to have fun without worrying about getting home,” he kept his eyes on the road ahead of them, rain now coming down and causing him to be a little more cautious.
“You didn’t have to do that. We could’ve just taken an uber home.”
“I know. But it’s not a big deal. I get more nights out than you do anyway. There’s always an opportunity to drink,” he shrugged nonchalantly, still not sparing her a glance.
“Well, thank you,” she replied awkwardly. Auston finally turned to look at her, suddenly seemingly aware of the effect his mood was having on her. He smiled tightly, reaching over to squeeze her thigh in acknowledgement.
“I’m sorry about Melanie,” Auston apologized, wanting to clear the air before they reached her apartment. He had assumed he was going up with her, but after the night’s events, he wasn’t sure.
“Oh, don’t be. She was really nice,” Savannah replied.
“Yeah, she is,” he agreed, not knowing what else to do. He wanted to know what was said, and based on how Savannah was acting, he knew she knew something, he just didn’t know what version of the story she got. He wanted her to ask him for his side, much like she did the night they played 21 questions.
They pulled into the complex parking garage and Auston turned off the car, but neither made any move to get out of the car. Auston waited, tapping his wrist on the steering wheel. Savannah unbuckled her seatbelt and turned in her seat to face him.
"Are you still okay with our arrangement?” Savannah all but whispered, her voice shaking, giving way to her uncertainty. Auston whipped his head around the face her. Fuck.
"What do you mean?” Auston willed himself not to overreact.
Savannah sighed. Specificity was probably necessary here, but she hated confrontation. “I mean, are you okay with us just being casual?”
Auston sighed this time, running his hand through his hair in frustration. He should have known. "Sav, what did Melanie say to you?”
“I promise I didn’t pry, she just…word-vomited all over me,” Savannah explained, fidgeting with her hands in her lap. “She said that you ended things with her because you realized you wanted to be in a relationship. I’m not asking you explain your past, but I just need to know if what we’re doing is still okay with you.”
"That’s partly true,” Auston admitted, glad to have an opportunity to explain himself. “I told her that I was done with hooking up with random girls and that if I were to be in a relationship, I didn’t see that happening with her and I still don’t.”
"Harsh,” Savannah visibly cringed.
"I know, and I feel badly about that, but I thought it was best to be direct,” he paused, not sure how his next statement would be taken. He watched as she fidgeted with her hands, unbuckled his seatbelt, and reached out to grab them in his. He was relieved when she visibly relaxed at his touch. “I didn’t tell her I was actively seeking a relationship or that I needed to be in one, Sav. You’re not keeping me from anything, if that’s what you’re worried about.”
"So you are still happy with keeping things casual?”
“Sav, I’m happy with you,” Auston squeezed her hands, bringing them to his lips.
Savannah fought the urge to give in to his sweet gestures. She needed to know the complete truth before she felt comfortable moving forward. “That’s not answering my question. You know how I feel about a relationship right now and the last thing I want to do is lead you on or feel like you are waiting for me. You deserve more than what I could give you in a relationship right now.”
Auston bit his cheek to keep himself from audibly sighing. He adored Savannah, but sometimes she just worried too much. “You need to stop assuming you know what I think I deserve and what I would want in a relationship.”
Surprised by what was easily the harshest tone Auston had ever used with her, Savannah cringed, worried she was making this more difficult than it needed to be. “I’m sorry, you’re right,” she relented. “But I just need to know because if this is more than casual to you, I think it should end for both of our sakes.”
Red flags rose in Auston’s mind. She was willing to end this if she thought he wanted to be in a relationship with her, or in general. He needed to salvage this before it was too late. "I am okay with it being just casual, Sav. It’s not more than that,” he lied.
"You’re sure?” she looked doubtful and hopeful simultaneously and Auston hated himself.
"Sav, we have a good thing going right now, don’t we? I mean, you’re having fun and you’re happy, right?”
"I am,” she answered honestly. And she really was, other than when she spent way too much time overthinking moments with Auston, almost searching for reasons to doubt him.
Auston reached his hand out to cup her cheek, relishing in Savannah sinking into his touch. “Then please stop stressing and letting outside factors influence this. It is what it is right now and as long as we’re both okay with that, I don’t see why it would need to end. Okay?”
Savannah nodded, leaning forward to place a kiss on his cheek. She had to trust that Auston wouldn’t lie to her. She got the answer she wanted, so they could continue. She pushed aside the nagging feeling that something was amiss, but she wanted so badly to continue, to stay in his presence. She didn’t even remotely acknowledge what wanting to stay in his presence meant. If he could keep it casual, so could she. “Okay. Let’s go upstairs.”
__
After having a long hot, and productive, shower together, Savannah and Auston were tangled up in her sheets, listening to the rain and continuing their game of 21 questions. It was nearing 1am, but neither felt tired. They lay naked, Savannah leaning on her crossed arms on Auston’s strong chest as he lay propped up against her pillows.
“You can’t say that!” Savannah exclaimed, raising her head to admonish him.
“Why not?” he retorted, the gleam evident in his eye. He was relieved that nothing felt different from the moment they left the car and entered her apartment. It was as if the events from the night hadn’t happened and things were back to what was becoming their normal.
“Because, you can’t possibly believe that. There’s no way I’m friends with someone who believes that. I can’t accept it.”
“Well, you better believe it, baby,” Auston laughed.
“Nope, no way. Hedwig’s death was not more emotional than Dobby’s. It just wasn’t,” Savannah shook her head defiantly. Who was this person she was laying here with who had these terrible Harry Potter takes?
“You asked my opinion! That’s my opinion!”
“Your opinion is wrong,” she plopped her head back down on her arms aggressively, earning a grunt from Auston, who barked out a laugh.
“All I’m saying is that Hedwig was there from the very beginning. She was a loss of his innocence. She symbolized that end,” he reached one hand out to push her sexed-up hair behind her ears. After the rough night they had, he was so content to be in this moment with her. His favourite version of Savannah was the one he got to be with behind closed doors, in their safe spaces. She was light; at peace with their privacy and joyful in his company. He felt like he was simultaneously floating in the clouds and being grounded to something good; something real. He had a feeling this is what love felt like.
“I agree with that part. I just don’t agree that it was a more emotional moment.”
“Well, we’ll just have to agree to disagree, won’t we?” he teased, tapping her twice on the nose and laughing as she stuck her tongue out to lick his palm.
“Whatever. It’s your turn.”
Auston hummed thoughtfully. He ran one hand leisurely up and down her side, sending shivers up her spine. “What is one of your favourite childhood memories?”
Savannah didn’t have to think twice before answering. “As you know, my dad is one of the biggest hockey fans out there,” she paused to roll her eyes as Auston mouthed a faux cheer of ‘Go Leafs Go!’. “And when none of my siblings took a serious interest in playing the sport, I was kind of his last hope. I don’t know if I told you, but he used to coach some of the kids’ leagues at our local rink. He coached my brothers in baseball, too actually. Anyway, the problem was, when I strapped on those black hockey skates, I would see the girls at the rink in these clean white ones doing spins and jumps and just looking like angels on ice and suddenly that’s all I wanted. My parents have actual video of me playing away from the puck and just trying to do pirouettes and mimic the moves I saw these other kids do, but in my hockey skates.” Savannah laughed at the memory.
“I need to see those videos someday,” Auston laughed picturing an even tinier Savannah doing spins in hockey skates. “I didn’t know you were on a hockey team though.”
“For an inconsequential period of time,” Savannah laughed. “It took my mom to convince my dad to let me switch from hockey lessons to figure skating. But she did, and even though he was disappointed, he was there for every single practice of mine and even helped me pick out some of my leos. One day, I skated off the ice after practice just fuming and in tears and when he asked why, I told him that some of the kids I used to play hockey with were teasing me for moving to the ‘weaker’ sport instead saying only ‘babies’ figure skated.”
Auston grimaced. As a hockey playing kid, he was definitely on the side of the teasers once in a while when they had to share the ice with the figure skaters. He now felt like sending personal apologies to all of the kids he mocked from ages 8-12.
“So my dad, all 6′2, 200 some-odd pound of him, got himself a customized pair of figure skates, made in white no less even though men’s figure skates are usually black, and skated out on to the ice with me at the next practice. And I never heard another comment again. These kids revered my dad. He was Coach. And now he was out there in figure skates, nearly dying and killing his knees trying to spin. It was just...everything,” Savannah smiled, feeling her heart squeeze at the thought of her big teddy bear of a dad.
"That’s amazing,” Auston laughed. “So are you a daddy’s girl?”
"It depends on the day. I think because I moved away from home at such a young age, my parents have done their best to spend time with me together and individually so I’ve gotten a bit of both,” Savannah reflected on her relationships with her parents. “My mom is all-knowing though. My dad is pretty unobservant for the most part, so most of our more meaningful talks come from me approaching him or outright expressing an emotion. My mom reads between the lines. She reads body language. She listens for the unsaid. I think it comes from being a teacher for students with special needs who can’t always communicate quickly or in what we consider to be the easiest way so she has to really pay attention.”
"She sounds a little like my mom.”
“Oh, after meeting your mom one time I could tell she was the kind of woman who could draw blood from a stone. She had my whole life story in under ten minutes of knowing her!”
Auston’s heart soared at how affectionately Savannah spoke of his mom after meeting her only one time. “Yeah, she has the affect.”
"What about you? Are you closer to one parent?”
"For a long time, it was my dad. He was my best friend. And still is,” Auston ran a hand through his hair, thinking back on the last few years with his parents. “But when I lived in Switzerland, my mom moved in with me for the year and we really bonded. I think we missed a lot of that because of how often I was away for hockey as a kid. She can still make me feel like a kid too sometimes, especially when I’m home visiting. But it’s just how she shows love.”
“You have great parents, Auston.”
“It sounds like we both do,” he leaned forward and kissed her forehead, watching as she tried to hide what appeared to be a rather large yawn. He glanced at the clock on her bedside table, seeing that it was nearly 3am. They had nowhere to be in the morning, and he had no intention of leaving her apartment the next day until she all but kicked him out, of course before what he assumed, and hoped, would be a very late breakfast. “All right you,” he pecked her lips, dragging her up his body. “Time for bed.”
“Mm,” she moaned, leaning in to kiss him deeply and then snuggling herself into his side, head tucked under his chin. She felt warm and safe and happy. This still worked for them, and she was so relieved. She could focus on the Olympics without the added pressure of balancing a relationship, and still have this safe space with Auston. As long as he was happy with what she could give, she was happy to stay right here for as long as possible. “Good night, Auston.”
“Good night, Sav.”

On the Other Side / Ch7: Truth or Dare part 3
Last / Masterpost / Next
Summary: For the past thirteen years, a secretive organization has been raising two groups of superpowered children. Half of them, since their very first memories, have been told they’ll grow up to be brave and strong superheroes; the rest were taught a much harsher view of the world, and groomed to become villains. Neither group knows of the other’s existence. But when a certain trio of heroes-to-be meets two future villains who really just want to be left alone, they all realize how much they haven’t been told.
Warnings: non-graphic violence, bullying, child abuse, sympathetic/good Deceit (Devon) is a main character
A/N: Sorry this is late, the past week has been kind of crazy... I'm thinking about switching the update schedule for this to Friday or Saturday so this won't happen as much.  What do you guys think?  Also, don’t worry, this is the last super-dialogue-heavy chapter before we get back to Plot Events and such.
Read on AO3
Patton noticed Roman’s hesitation, and it wasn’t difficult to guess the cause.  He took his hand with an encouraging smile and led him back to the fort.
“It’s gonna be okay,” he assured him.  “I know you didn’t mean to, you just didn’t know it would scare them… I’m sure if you explain that and apologize, they’ll understand!”
Roman wasn’t as certain, but he allowed himself to be pulled along anyway.  After all, what kind of hero would he be if he couldn’t do the right thing and apologize when he messed up?
Everyone glanced over when they came in, although no one said anything yet.  The blankets were still soaked in the corner where Patton had been sitting, but it only took him a second to pull the water out of them and deposit it in the bathroom sink, leaving everything nice and dry again.  Roman winced a little at that.  To have such good control of the water, he must still have been feeling pretty bad, even if he was trying not to act like it.
“Is everyone okay now?” Patton asked, sitting cross-legged in the same spot as before and patting the blankets to tell Roman to join him.  As soon as he complied, Patton let his head rest on Roman’s shoulder, blinking heavily.  The storm had taken a lot out of him, and it was a fair bit later than they were used to staying up anyway.
Devon nodded.  “We’re alright.”  He was leaning on the wall, and Virgil was leaning on him, turned away from everyone else so that his face wasn’t visible.  They both looked about ready to fall asleep where they were, too- well, insofar as the back of Virgil’s head looked like anything.  Maybe that was why they didn’t have all their defenses back up; they were just too tired.
“Guys, I- I’m really sorry,” Roman blurted before he could overthink it.  “I was just so excited to get to show off, I wasn’t thinking- I understand if you don’t… trust me around you anymore.”  He pulled his knees up to his chest, moving away from them and closer to Patton to show his willingness to stay away, not that they could see him very well in the dark.  The light had gone back where it belonged earlier, with Roman focused on other things.  He brought it into the fort again and played with it absently in the increasingly awkward silence that followed.
It was a bit of a relief when someone at least moved.  Virgil lifted his head, turning a little to look at him.  Silently, of course.  It was very uncomfortable until Roman realized he was just watching the ball of light bounce between his hands and not staring him down.
“Oh, uh- I can, I can put it away if you want,” he stammered, assuming it was making him nervous.  To his surprise, Virgil shook his head quickly and actually reached out a bit as if to stop him from putting it back.  Roman was suddenly reminded of Devon had related to him shortly before things had gone wrong.
“Do you… want it?”  He got a slightly confused look in response and attempted to clarify.  “I can make it so you can touch it, and I can’t do anything else to it without touching it myself, so it won’t do anything unexpected this time… Just- will you allow me to begin to make this up to you?  Please?”
Virgil considered him for a few seconds.  This was a very unfamiliar type of interaction for him, after all.  Then, he nodded slowly and held his hand out.  Roman perked up, cheering internally, and took a moment to solidify the little orb of light before floating it over to him.  Virgil caught it and turned it over in his hands a couple times, then gave him a thumbs-up and- was Roman just imagining that he seemed a little happier?
“Does that mean you’re not mad at me anymore?” he asked hopefully.  A brief whispered exchange, and Devon answered.
“We don’t hate you or anything,” he assured.  “Just don’t do anything like that again.”  He ended with a warning look, but Roman was too relieved to be very intimidated.  Then he put his arm around Virgil and continued, “And uh- we’re sorry too… for overreacting and interrupting the game and upsetting Patton…”
“You don’t need to apologize,” Logan said carefully.  “I would guess that in the context of your previous experiences, the way you reacted made perfect sense, and the game was really not that important.”
“I’m the one who should be apologizing to you,” Patton cried.  “I tried to use my powers and help and- and it made everything worse!”
Logan realized he was still apparently the only one here thinking rationally.  “You were having a panic attack too,” he pointed out.  “You couldn’t possibly be expected to control your emotions.”
Virgil and Devon looked at each other.  There was a term for it?  They would have to ask about that, when they were more awake.
“Now, if we’re all done blaming ourselves for things that we either didn’t mean to do or had no control over…”
“Can we finish the game?”  Patton asked.  “I mean, I know we’re all really tired, but I don’t want the last thing that happens today to be that…”
“I’m willing.”  Roman didn’t want to fall asleep thinking about it either.
Devon shrugged.  “As long as you don’t mind if we fall asleep in the middle of it.”  Point of fact, he wasn’t entirely sure Virgil hadn’t done that already.
“If it will make you feel better, I’ll participate too,” Logan agreed.  “Actually, I believe I was supposed to demonstrate my power now.  I’ll keep it calm since it’s getting so late.  Er… Virgil, do you think you could move the light a little so we can see?”  He’d sort of curled up against Devon and was holding it like a stuffed animal, which was somewhat endearing, but also prevented the light from doing its job.
“You make a better door than a window,” Patton giggled.
Virgil made a sleepy, barely-there “hm?” sound and turned his body so that the light was more visible.  He blinked hard a few times and rubbed his eyes, trying to wake up so he could watch Logan.
“Thank you.”  Logan pushed his glasses up and began.  “I have the power of molecular manipulation- which, if you haven’t gotten to that yet in your classes, molecules are the little pieces that everything is made of, I have a book I can show you tomorrow- but with the limitation that I have to understand what I’m doing to be able to do it, so I can fairly easily do something like this,” he held up the pieces of the blanket Roman had attacked and put them back together as if nothing had ever happened, “or what I did earlier today to make a hole in the wall, but if I wanted to cause something to explode or similar I would need to do some research first.  Moving things is the easiest.  Teleportation is possible in theory, but I’ve tried it with some small objects and they don’t necessarily look the same afterward, so I wouldn’t want to do it with anything living.”  Roman and Patton exchanged a “yuck” face at the very thought.
“It also allows me to change the temperature of things,” he continued, leaning forward and taking a couple of cookies.  It was a miracle any were still left, honestly.  He frowned at them for a few seconds.  “There- an example.”  He scooted closer in order to hand them to Devon and Virgil, who were pleasantly surprised to find the cookies were warm now, making the chocolate chips all nice and melty.
“Do some for us too, Lo, please?”  Patton could, of course, get Logan to do this any time he wanted, but still.
“Oh, all right.”  He warmed up two more for Patton and Roman.
“Surely you know this is the only reason we wanted you to room with us,” Roman teased, slinging an arm around Logan’s shoulders.  “Our own personal nerdy microwave.”
“Oh, get off me,” Logan grumbled, trying not to laugh as he pushed him away.  “It’s supposed to be Patton’s turn now, right?”
“Right!” Patton tried to say, only his mouth was still full of cookie, so it came out more like “Rmph!”  He swallowed quickly before going on, “Logan, truth or dare?”
“Oh, don’t even bother,” Roman interjected with an over-dramatic sigh, “he’s boring, he’s only ever going to say- ”
“Dare,” Logan interrupted, crossing his arms and giving Roman a look.  “Only so you’ll leave me alone about it.”
“Oh!  Um… I need a minute to think about it now,” Patton said with a surprised giggle.  “No, wait, I know…”  He whispered in Logan’s ear, cupping his hands so no one else could hear.  “I dare you to lick Roman’s face every time he says the word ‘the’ for the rest of the game with no explanation.”
“I am not doing that,” Logan said immediately.
“What?! What did he tell you to do?” Roman asked, clearly disappointed.
“He wanted me to lick you-”
“Wh- Patton,” he whined.  “Gross.”
“Yes, exactly, which is why I’m not doing it.  I forfeit this round, and also propose a rule of no more dares for the rest of the night, because clearly some of us have started getting weird.”
“Aw, no!”
“Just because you don’t want to-”
“You two, shush.  Devon? Virgil?”
“Uh…”  Thanks a lot, Logan, they totally wanted to be put on the spot right now.  “Well- Vi’s pretty tired, so it might be a good idea…?”
“Thank you.  See?  They’re on my side, majority wins.”  There was some complaining, but the new rule was accepted fairly quickly in the interest of not having their new friends think they were mad at them.
“Oh well, that makes it my turn again… If we’re not doing dares anymore, I guess I can jump right in and ask someone a question, right?”  Patton hummed thoughtfully, considering his options.  “Hey, Virgil, what’s your favorite kind of cookie?  If you’re still awake over there…”
Virgil sat up straighter to answer, looking slightly insulted by the insinuation that he was falling asleep just because he was curled up with his eyes closed and hadn’t moved in a while.  Devon listened to his answer and started, confused.
“Snickerdoodles?  When did you even have snickerdoodles?”
Virgil merely shrugged with a mischievous little smile.
“Ohhh, I love those too!” Patton exclaimed.  “We should ask Thomas to get some for us next time he goes to buy snacks… oh, you guys didn’t really meet him, did you?  He’s really nice, you’d like him, and he gets snacks for everyone sometimes ‘cause he’s our dorm parent.  Shoot, I’m rambling,” he laughed.  “Sorry, Virgil, you can take your turn now!”
Virgil nodded and thought for a while.  Coming up with things was getting harder as his sleepiness grew.  Eventually he shrugged and indicated Logan.  “What’s your favorite animal?” Devon asked for him.
“Oh, that’s a difficult one, there are so many good choices… well, I don’t know if it’s my absolute favorite, but I think the octopus is very interesting.  Three hearts, no skeleton- so they can fit into tiny gaps and escape sometimes when they’re in captivity, and they absolutely will try if they get bored- and they can change colors to camouflage themselves.  Also, when they mate-”
“Wow, Logan, that’s neat!” Patton quickly interrupted.  “I like cats, myself.”
Logan was thankfully distracted from saying any more on the subject.  “You- you’re allergic to cats.”
“Well, yeah, but I like them!  They’re cute!”
Roman shifted, stretching out on the floor and propping himself up with his elbows.  “Bet I can guess Devon’s favorite.”
“Oh, shut up.”  Devon stuck his tongue out at him, which did not necessarily help his case.
“I believe it was my turn,” Logan reminded everyone.  “So, hmm… Roman, if you were to compliment, let’s say two of the other people playing, what would you say?”
Roman graciously refrained from pointing out how that was basically a sneaky rephrasing of a dare and Logan was already exploiting loopholes in his own rule.  He did, however, also refrain from choosing him as one of the two people he now had to say something nice to.  “Patton,” he proclaimed, throwing himself over said boy’s legs so as to make sure he had his attention, “you’re an absolutely wonderful friend and I love you.”
“Aww!”  Patton hugged him.  “You’re a great friend too, love you back!”
“And…”  He was determined to include one of the other two rather than Logan, but he didn’t exactly know them well enough to have much to work with.  “Uh- Devon, your face looks cool!”  It wasn’t the most original, he certainly knew what his own face looked like already, but it wouldn’t look good if Roman sat there for too long trying to come up with something complimentary to say.
Speaking of Devon’s face, it darkened instantly.  “Thanks,” he said with more bitter sarcasm than should have been able to fit in his small body.  “I know how stupid I look, alright, it’s not new information to me, so whatever you’re trying to pull you can just forget it.”
“Wait, no!  I wasn’t- I just genuinely thought it was cool, I didn’t mean to insult you, of course not!  I- hold on, who told you it looked stupid?  I’ll fight them,” he declared, seeming like he really did mean it.
Devon blinked, his scowl fading.  Okay, maybe he’d been a little quick to get defensive, but to be fair… “Uh… how about everyone?  If you actually think this looks good, you’d be the first… See, I used to look normal, but then something happened with my power so now it’s like this, and it’s easy to make fun of, so… yeah.”
“Then I suppose I shall have to fight everyone you’ve ever met.  By the way, what are you guys’ powers?”
“Well, I can shapeshift, only as you can see it hasn’t worked very well so far-” he rubbed his arm, embarrassed- “and Virgil… we’re not sure yet.  He’s not ready to try using it, whatever it is.  Was that your question, is it my turn now?”  Upon receiving confirmation, he turned to Patton.  “What’s so great about cats that you love them even though you’re allergic?”
Patton bounced excitedly, jostling Roman, who was still lying across his legs.  “They’re just so cute and sweet and soft, and they purr, and their little paws are so cute, with the toe beans, you know?  And when they like you they rub their little face on you and it’s just adorable!”
“Which is bad in your case,” Logan reminded him, “because then you have fur on you and have to change clothes because you are allergic to cats.”
“I know but still!”
“Hey, I have an idea,” Roman spoke up from the floor with a yawn.  “How about we stop the game and just have a conversation like normal people, because what we’re doing right now is just a conversation with extra rules and it’s getting sort of hard to follow.”
“You have a point,” Logan admitted, and everyone else nodded in agreement.
“Great, in that case I don’t have to wait to ask Devon why he acts like he’s never, like, seen a cat before?!”
“I’ve seen cats before,” he protested.  Which he had, just not in person that he could remember  “But this is a school, you don’t have cats in a school!”
“In our school you do,” said Patton, “they bring them in sometimes and if you’re having a bad day or you need to calm down you can go play with them.  Except I’m not allowed to anymore because they figured out about my allergies, so unless I start taking medicine I can only play with the dogs now.  Which are also great!  But I’m still kinda sad about the cats.”
“Weird.”
Logan tilted his head.  “So that’s one difference… are there other things we have here that your school doesn’t, or vice versa?  I suppose it’s probably hard to say since you haven’t seen much of ours.”
He thought about it.  “Another one is that we don’t really have a ‘dorm parent’ like you do… I mean, there’s adult supervision, they don’t just leave us to do whatever, but there isn’t someone actually called that.  And they definitely don’t take requests to go buy us snacks.  More of just someone being nearby all the time to make sure we’re not breaking rules… don’t think we’d get away with staying up talking this late either, they would’ve noticed and come told us to shut up and go to sleep by now.”
Patton frowned.  “They don’t sound very nice…”
“Yeah, well.  They’re nice to some people.  Not us, though.”  He unconsciously hugged Virgil, pulling him closer to his side.
“Well, you should just stay here, then,” Patton decided.  “Thomas is nice to everyone.”
Remembering something, Roman asked, “Is that why you hadn’t had Doritos before?”
“Yeah- I mean, kinda.  There’s stuff like that in the cafeteria sometimes, but then people take more than they’re supposed to and if you don’t feel like fighting to be at the front of the line there isn’t anything good left, and we’d probably just get hurt if we tried to do that since everyone literally has superpowers, so…”  Not to mention they got hurt quite enough as it was.  “Doesn’t seem worth it for chips or whatever.”
Virgil leaned up and whispered something.
“Oh, what?  Really?  Okay, apparently Vi gets cookies sometimes from Mr. Remy who works in the cafeteria because he thinks he’s too skinny.  Is that how you got snickerdoodles?  No fair, he doesn’t sneak me cookies.”  He was surprised Virgil hadn’t told him before.  He would have been surprised he hadn’t seen it, but they often weren’t scheduled to eat at the same time, being in different grade levels and all.
Patton gasped.  “We know him too!  And Thomas likes him but he won’t admit it,” he revealed, giggling.
“We’re trying to set them up,” added Roman, wiggling his eyebrows.  “I think we’re getting close, Thomas actually managed to say a full sentence to him last week!”
“What do you have other than that?” Patton asked.  “Does your cafeteria have the same foods we do?  Pizza and stuff?”
Logan side-eyed him.  “Are you hungry or something, Patton?”
“I just need to know!  ‘Cause if they haven’t had something we have then we need to bring it back for them tomorrow so they can try it!”
“Probably?  It’s just, y’know, normal cafeteria food.  Not amazing, but like, it’s edible and all.”
“Devon, I have a very important question for you.”  Patton scooted closer and looked him in the eyes.  “Do you have french fries shaped like smiley faces.”
He blinked.  “What?  No.  How would you- how does that even work?”
“You don’t?!”  He was much more distraught than the situation seemed to call for.  “Don’t worry, I’ll get them for you as soon as I can!”
“O… kay?  You don’t… have to-”
“Yes I do.”
He put his hands up in surrender.  “If you say so.  But, ah… can we stop talking about food now?  Because it’s kind of the middle of the night and we can’t actually get any of it until morning, and we’re not going to get very far anyway if you’re just going to list things off and ask if we’ve had them, and anyway I think Virgil is asleep for real now.”
“I think we should all go to sleep now,” Logan chimed in.  “At least the three of us who live here and have to be up early tomorrow.”
“Aw, I guess you’re right…”
“That’s fair,” mumbled Roman, who had faceplanted into the blankets.  He rolled himself slowly off of Patton’s legs and stretched.  They’d all been in the fort for at least a couple hours at this point, and he wondered vaguely why Devon and Virgil didn’t seem to mind being in the same exact position in their corner for so long.  “‘M going to bed.”
“Brush your teeth first,” Logan called after him as he left, having done so himself before they’d even sat down in the first place.  He’d sort of expected everyone to finish talking way sooner than they had.
“You can’t make me,” he responded.  “You’re not Thomas.”  He was already halfway in his bed at that point, given that it was approximately five feet away from the fort and he had the lower bunk.  (He would’ve argued for the top, but Patton had an unfortunate habit of floating in his sleep and winding up in the upper bunk regardless of where he’d started, so it was easier to just put him there in the first place.)
“Will you two be okay down here?” Patton asked Devon as Logan made his way out as well.  “Do you want more blankets, or water or anything?  I mean, there’s probably enough blankets since the whole fort is made of them, but if you’re cold I can find more… actually, are you comfortable being by yourselves, because I can stay with you if you want and then if you need anything you can wake me up, but I don’t want to be in your space too much…”
“Patton.”  Devon blinked at him tiredly, having only really heard about half of his fretting.  “We’re fine.  Go to bed.”  He adjusted a few pillows, making a cozy little nest for the two of them to sleep in, and flopped down with more than one blanket pulled over his head.  The conversation was clearly over.
“Okay, well, you just poke me if you need anything,” Patton said, leaving.  “Good night!”
“G’night…”  Devon curled up next to Virgil with a content sigh, just close enough to tell he was there without having to look.  Despite being in a strange place with people they’d only just met a few hours ago, he already felt more secure and comfortable here than he ever did normally.  There was so much to process about what had happened in those few hours he didn’t know where to start, but… it could probably wait.  He was tired, and warm, and full of junk food.  Time to follow everyone else’s example and go to sleep.

Pine Tree/소나무 - Yoon Ji Sung
In which a project prevents you from coming home for Christmas..or does it?
Tumblr media
“I miss you; the words I can’t even say for once
I’ll say it through this song
Lean on me now
I’ll be the tree that resembles your love for me” -  Pine Tree/소나무 (Wanna One)
Hello everyone! This is Day 10 for my persona 12 Days with Wanna One Christmas series. I hope you enjoy it with uri Leader-nim Yoon Ji Sung, and thank you again for your patience and understanding ^^
As you re-typed a portion of the code to fix a bug on the website you were working on, you glanced at the time at the bottom of your screen. It wasn’t late per say but you should have been out of the office an hour ago. Glancing at your phone, you knew you’d have to return a missed call that you had to ignore earlier because your creative director had called you in for an emergency meeting.
Long story short, your client had changed their vision but still wanted a product by the deadline. Your boss would have refused, but this was a very high-profile client and declining them would not look good for the company, so you were forced to oblige by the unreasonable “request”. This pushed everyone behind schedule and as a result, you weren’t the only one in the office at this time trying to catch up on the new project.
After about another hour, you hit your goal for today. All you had to do tomorrow was to double check all the features of the website, and fix anything that wasn’t user friendly. After that, you’d have your team members try it out before submitting it to your director. Turning off your computer and your lamp, you stood up from your chair and stretched before grabbing your bag and coat, bidding your co-workers good-bye as you left the office.
Walking into the parking garage, you quickly found your car before unlocking it and stepping in. Buckling your seat belt and making sure your phone was connected to the Bluetooth ear piece, you called your boyfriend as you backed out of the parking spot and made your way out. It didn’t take very long for him to pick up, and you smiled at the sound of his voice.
“Jagi! Why didn’t you pick up my call earlier? I thought you were off after six…”
His voice trailed off and you had to chuckle at that. You knew he was probably already overthinking everything, making sure that you did get out of six instead of him remembering wrong or what not and calling you at an inappropriate time.
“Ji Sung, before you start overreacting-”
“Me? Overreact?”
“Yes, oppa, you.”
You stopped at a stoplight briefly before it turned green and you started moving again, signaling before you changed lanes to turn into the street that led to your home in the city.
“You end at six, don’t you?”
“I was supposed to, but one of clients decided to change on us…again.”
“Again? Was this the same one who told you they wanted an elephant splayed across the homepage?”
“The same one. Good thing is, the elephant idea is gone, and their most recent request isn’t crazy, in terms of design anyway. It’s relatively simple, but they still want the same deadline.”
“The day you fly back home?”
“Yes, that day.”
There was a silence before Ji Sung spoke again.
“I know you don’t want me to overreact, but I can’t help but feel you’re a lot more stressed than you’re letting on.”
You let out another laugh at that. Of course, Ji Sung would know; he knew you too well for you to hide how you were feeling from him.
“How is that you can read how I’m feeling over the phone so easily?”
“You just sound…a lot more tired than usual. Plus, you always sound like this before any deadline, regardless of how unreasonable the client was or was not.”
“Honestly, I’m not even sure I’ll be able to come home as planned.”
“That bad?”
“Kind of,” you said as you passed through a few more streets and stop signs before arriving at your apartment building. Pulling into the parking garage, you parked at your spot before killing the engine and getting out of the car, locking it behind you.
“Is there something else? You know you can tell me anything.”
“I know…but I feel like I’m bothering you. Don’t you have a thing with the guys tonight?”
Instead of taking the elevator, you climbed the stairs, grateful for some time to stretch your legs after sitting in a chair all day.
“You aren’t bothering me at all. Plus, our get-together isn’t until later anyway. Now, tell me what’s bothering you.”
You unlocked the door to your apartment before entering and locking. Kicking off your shoes, you walked to the living room where you dropped your bag on the ground and flopped onto the sofa.
“I guess, I just feel worried that I won’t be able to make it home in time to do all the things we usually do before Christmas. I’m usually in charge of getting that started for my family, but if I’m not there-”
“Hold on there. What makes you think you won’t be home in time? You said the new design was relatively easy. Every time you say that, you always manage to finish early.”
“Yes, but what if I don’t? I’ll be missing all the pre-Christmas traditions that we’ve had for years. And you’ll have to worry about everything by yourself. Or what about Christmas shopping for all my cousins? How could I make you do that alone? And what about-”
“Y/N.”
Him calling your name abruptly put a stop to your worried rambling.
“Yeah?”
“I know you’re going to finish the project in time for your flight in a few days. And you can expect me to be there waiting for you when you walk out of those gates. Everything is going to be fine, and you aren’t going to let me be alone for all this holiday prep that we always do together.”
“You think so?”
“I’m positive. The rest of the guys are also looking forward to seeing you again, so I know you aren’t going to miss that.”
Ji Sung’s pep talk managed to get you to think clearly about everything. He was right. You were basically done with your portion of the project, and if any fixes needed to be done, you still had several days to do so, which was plenty of time. As always, he was always able to keep you grounded whenever you got worried about your projects. And to think you told him not to overreact; maybe you were prone to overreact too.
“Thanks, oppa. I needed that.”
You heard him chuckle on his end and the sound significantly improved your mood, if it wasn’t already uplifted from his pep talk.
“That’s what I’m here for! I’m glad to hear that you’re feeling better.”
“How do you always do that?”
“How do I always do…what?”
“Know how to make me feel better?”
There was a brief silence but you could practically hear him smile through the phone.
“I’ve known you long enough, and if I didn’t know how to make you feel better by this point, I would be a very bad boyfriend.”
“I suppose I can’t argue with that.”
“Also, you always know how to make me feel better too, so it’s a win-win situation.”
“Do I really?”
“Of course, you do! Did you forget the entire last year when I was searching for a job and was unsuccessful? You were the one who motivated me to keep trying at the end of each day, no matter how crappy I felt. And thanks to you, I’m where I am now.”
Thinking back, you remembered that was a thing. Ji Sung would call you before all his interviews, and then again that same day when he came home. Of course, he would call before you left for work and after you got home, but you remembered late nights when he was feeling especially sorry for himself. Although it was hard sometimes, you both worked through it. Eventually he got the job doing what he wanted and was even slated for a promotion in the new year.
“Did I help all that much? I feel like everything you have now was because of you. I didn’t do anything.”
“You were my support system, and everyone needs that. I would have given up if it weren’t for you.”
“That sounds serious.”
“It could have been, but it wasn’t. So now it’s my turn. You can lean on me and everything will be okay. I know you’re capable of what you put your mind to.”
“Thanks, Ji Sung. I really appreciate it.”
“You’re welcome, jagi. You’re home now right? I’ll let you wash up and get some dinner all right?”
“Okay, I love you. Talk to you later.”
“Love you too! I’ll talk to you soon.”
You heard the line drop and took the earpiece from your ear before getting up to change out of your clothes and wash up before eating dinner. As you turned in for the night, you couldn’t help but miss Ji Sung a bit more than normal. However, after tonight’s phone call, you were determined to finish the project on time, and to the best of your ability.
True to Ji Sung’s words, you were able to finish the project before your flight home, and even got a bonus from the client because they liked the website so much. When you walked out of the gates after your flight at the airport and saw Ji Sung waiting for you, you couldn’t rush into his arms fast enough.
As you felt his warmth envelope you, and his arms around your waist, you knew that you were finally home for Christmas.
