Halina Poświatowska, Indeed I Love

When the moon gifts me light through the window Ribbons of her love from between folds in the curtains I wonder if you are being blessed with the same I wonder if she kisses your skin in the way I cannot I wonder if I will ever be bestowed with the gift of being under the same moonlight with you

The world is ending, and so are you. You feel small in the chaos of the day but when you look up at the stars at the dead of the night, everything's alright.

my beloved moon,
in the quiet solitude of the night, i pour my heart out to you—my confessions whispered into the abyss and carried on the wings of lunar light. your silent presence listens, guiding my tides at each strike of twilight.
my everlasting muse,
you are the heart of my every poem, my every prose, my every longing melody. how easily you’ve captivated my heart, and how willingly i play my part, surrendering to this one-sided lie.
you, my beloved moon, are the most beautiful thing known to man,
and i am but a passerby.

Conversations with the moon, wishing it was you.
Tumblr media
Sometimes I drag out my conversations with the moon and I pretend I am talking to you,
Luminescence shining on my heart, there is nothing left of you I could love anew? You have stolen my words, my truth, and my fate.
I wish we could talk and talk the night away, my love. Why must life be so cruel? You have turned into the moon, and now my conversations never consist of you.

my first love is the one i saw, but could never hold. the one that shows up each evening when the sky is at it's darkest. the only thing that illuminates my soul - miles & miles away.

even in the dark with no moon and no stars I'd find you. my heart is a compass and you're my true north - at land or the sea as long as your heart is beating, I'd find you.

The moon looks giant as it sets.
It feels like I could reach out
And grab the orb from the sky.
It beckons me to stare back into it
As it waxes yet to become a full moon,
Barely hovering above the trees
That encases the road.
Though it casts a silver glow
Upon all that lies under it's light,
It’s painted a pale orange
That shines so bright.

It was a normal March night
I was admiring the moon when moon asked me, "You're missing him again?" and i smiled.

you must be so strong,
pulling the tides
in and out, day after day
does your back hurt?
can i take the pain for you?
my moon, does your heart ache
can i hold you until it doesn't

Eclipse
As the moon slices the space between the sunlight and the earth The air grows cold The sun is gone But I still see It's like you, dearest. I am freezing. You are gone But your cold light still soaks into my skin I can still see your remnants Illuminating up the darkest parts of my frigid life Your love is an echo that reverberates through the air Inescapable and frozen Bitterly biting my fingertips like frostbite A constant reminder Of what once was

i wish my cell phone camera
could see the same sky i do.
i wish that i could capture the moon
and frame her on my wall
so i always remember
how she looked at me.
but, much like the failings
of the english language,
unable to properly translate
my own scattered thoughts,
a machine does not look at the moon
and wonder if you are too.
the eyes of a child can see
humanity in her face,
but an eye made by man
can only see her light.
