Luz, King, and Eda were going out on some errands and Hunter and I didn’t really want to go. Besides, who wouldn’t want to spend quality time with their boyfriend?

“No funny business you two,” Hooty said slyly as Eda closed the door. Then he disappeared and I felt chills run down my spine. Creepy.

Hunter leaned back into the headboard and started to read a book. So I decided to busy myself with my own hobby. But focusing was getting harder and harder. I mean can you blame me? My handsome boyfriend was sitting right next to me and maybe I wanted to admire him. Not like I’d tell him that. I’d think I’d die of embarrassment.

I stared at him from the corner of my eyes. My gaze went from his pink lips, tired eyes, and landed on his pointed ears. They were the only difference between witches and humans. The difference between us. They suited him though, I couldn’t imagine him with rounded ears.

I’ve been staring at him so long, I’m surprised he hasn’t noticed yet. I looked back down at what I was supposed to be doing, debating in my head whether or not to suck up my shyness and ask him something I’ve been wanting to or not. I mean I don’t want to weird him out or anything, but on the other hand…

I glanced back up to his ears. Sucking in a breath I decided to just go for it. If he was uncomfortable with it then he’d tell me no, simple as that.

“Um, c-could I touch your ears, p-please?” I asked, stuttering over my words slightly. Hunter turned to face me, and I felt myself start to ramble slightly, “B-because your ears are so extremely adorable, Hunter.”

His face turned a fiery red, and I felt my face warm up as well. He stared at me, his brain appeared to short circuit. I shrinked slightly at his gaze, I should never have asked, this is so embarrassing.

“G-go on,” Hunter finally replied, not meeting my gaze. “I d-don’t mind at all, (y/n).”

I reached out slowly, just in case he changed his mind. But he didn’t, and I gently felt the tips of his ears. They felt so soft! As I rubbed his ears, he leaned into my touch. I smiled softly at the sight. His eyes were closed, his cheeks red, and…wha-was he…purring? Hunter was letting out a soft sound that reminded me of a cat. How adorable!

I let out a slight giggle and kissed his cheek. He let out a whine, and I couldn’t hold myself back. I peppered his face in kisses, and he let out a small laugh. I smiled down at him, not exactly sure when I started to hover over him, but I wasn’t complaining. He stared back up at me with lidded eyes. I leaned down slowly, our lips meeting in a soft kiss.

We’ve kissed before. Not much, we both tend to be too shy to make the first move. And even though we’ve kissed before, it still was breathtaking every time we did. I couldn’t think of anything but him at the moment, butterflies dancing in my stomach.

I pulled away, slowly opening my eyes. Before I could process anything, Hunter pulled me down onto him, holding me tightly against him. I smiled against his neck. I wouldn’t change this for the world.

Hello!!

I am so sorry 😭😭 I have a few things that I want to ask.

Let’s start with gender. I’ve been here a lot talking about my gender experience and how I feel somewhat connected to my agab being afab.

Personally, I hate when I am referred to as a girl/women. When my friends plan a ‘girls trip’ I get annoyed… when people assume I am a ‘young lady’ I get frustrated. I don’t get why I am like that specifically because it’s been as of recent (only about a year). Before that it never really annoyed it or maybe I just never thought much about the terms I was being referred to as.

Sometimes I feel as if I am faking my gender. Like I should just stop thinking about it and let myself be perceived as how I was born. But that feels wrong. But also doesn’t?

It feels wrong in the sense that I’ve spent a year thinking about gender and how I am not cis, that now I believe that I am not cis, but when I think about it again it’s like maybe I am just cis and I just want to show people that gender isn’t important and that people can dress how they want to without being perceived a specific binary gender etc.

In the past year I have felt comfortable thinking I was agender, but I still sometimes feel like I am just cis (minus the desire to want to chop off my tits 24/7).

That’s another thing. I only started feeling chest Dysphoria in the last 2 years. Before that I liked them… 😭😭 I hate saying that bc now they make me so angry and just the thought of them makes me feel sick.

This is me basically asking is if it is normal to doubt my gender or does it seem like I’m faking it.

Bc sometimes when I think about myself it’s as a girl and then when I think about it properly it’s like ‘ew why did I make my future self look like that’ bc I want to look visibly queer but my unconscious brain just perceives me as a girl.

Ok secondly, (I’m so sorry this might get really long) I’m questioning my sexuality?

So I am bi. That’s a known fact. I’ve known that since 2021. But when I think about being in a relationship with someone it’s always so different to how other people perceive relationships. (I’ve never been in a relationship)

The thing is, I can’t imagine being intimate with anyone. Like it’s just weird. But I want it someday.

I read… a lot!! And I love reading all kinds of fluff that gets my stomach erupting with butterflies, I also love reading smut, it doesn’t make me feel grossed out or anything and I quite enjoy it.

It’s just when I picture myself with someone else it’s just like ‘nope, not for me’. BUT I DO WANT IT!!

Could this just be lack of relationship and experience or could I be on the ace spectrum.

I’ve looked at some of the terms and demisexual is kind of what I’m feeling but also not bc I do want to one day build a strong connection to someone and have a trusting relationship where I can express my love (ok yes that’s cringy to say but idk how else to word it).

I also have had crushes in the past but when I think about if I’d want to get to know them better it’s just a straight up ‘nope’ (that’s probably just my social anxiety tho)

and I’ve spoken to my sister about this relationship stuff and she is the same, like we both wouldn’t kiss someone after the first few dates and wouldn’t be thinking about anything further until there is a real bond.

Is this just lack of relationship? Am I just overthinking it too much?

Have youuuuuu heard of genderfluid? Where your gender can kind of change depending on the day? What you're saying feels very genderfluid.

Absolutely it's normal! You are anonymously writing to me on the internet- you're not faking it. Truly, please look into genderfluid. I don't usually push someone towards one identity but yeah. What you're describing is very similar to how I feel, so I think it might be helpful.

I think this is something that a lot of people don't realize: when/if you transition in any way, it sometimes even takes YOU time to adjust. You've been conditioned your whole life to picture and refer to yourself a certain way. Old habits die hard. To me, it's not what's the first thing you think of, it's what feels the best?

I think here, I'd encourage you to think more about WHAT exactly you feel when you read those things (I don't want to go into detail much incase you're underage).

Well...Only you can decide if you're demi. But I identify as demi, and I have those things!

🌼 Caede Tales characters give me a tricky time to answer this, because the story is told over the course of their entire lives, but by the time the story really starts going (Aka, Archer is joining Maliwan), he's about 29 while Joey is 25 !

And for the last time he's seen, he's around 40 something.

Archer isn't someone who has a lot of hobbies, he's usually too busy with work to really have his attention dispersed, but when he is stationary for a certain amount of time and work slows down, he likes writing poems in post-it notes and then bringing them home to collage em together. He says it's just to make time pass faster, but he does genuinely enjoy writing and reading. Otherwise, he's usually just working.

❤️ One time, when Archer was a kid– no older than 13– he and Jonah were our and about for a little mission with their dad, but they couldn't go back home right away, so they had to sleep on a tent outside. Their dad fell asleep pretty fast, so for most of that time they were together, playing and talking and trying to tire themselves out. They eventually got to lying down, and seeing the stars so clearly above them, with only the other brother to keep them company now, was really kind of a foundational experience. They both promised that no matter what, at some point, they would make it to those stars, and they'd both shine just as brightly for other kids in Pandora to marvel at, so maybe a few of them gets inspired to change the world too.

🌼 Mary is about 54! She ages very gracefully in the sense she's happy about growing old, since so many people in the planet don't get that luxury most of the time. She dies at about 71, not long after Lucio, but at least she didn't die alone like he did.

🎹 Oh Mary has plenty of hobbies, that you can be sure ! Gardening, weaving, playing violin (usually with her kids), cooking, anything to keep the hands busy and the brain focused in a task. It's not wise to leave yourself unoccupied when your head is full of thoughts Constantly, and Mary is all too familiar with it. Thankfully there's always something that needs doing in the house and in the town in general !

❤️ One of the most special memories in Mary's life is getting to escape her old clan, leaving with Lucio in this special, once in a lifetime romance with someone she was sure would bring her happiness, seeing the world she used to know expand its borders so much farther than she thought they could... it was a weird adaptation, but it felt like her life actually had purpose now, that she would get to help people elsewhere, and bring some good to the otherwise very violent wasteland she called home. It was a choice for certain, and one she never regretted.

Luis is the kind of guy who hikes the everest without any gear and then returns home a month after like "wow, that was refreshing". He's extremist and won't hesitate to remind you several times by running around in the woods in the dark for fun. Otherwise he usually either cooks or plays videogames with his housemates.

✨- How did you come up with the OC’s name?

There's nothing behind this name at all. It sounded both bougie and old timey American, which I was going for due to him originally being from New England.

🌼 - How old are they? (Or approximate age range)

Henry starts off Dream Quest at 14, and turns 15 at some point during the story. Like Cherise and Neville, he will continue to age as the stories go on and be in his 20s in the final arc

🌺- Do they have any love interest(s)?

Henry's primary love interest is Ayane, the dream spirit/tulpa of a popular fictional character he brought home from the Dreamlands. However they aren't going to get together just yet; he'll date a couple other girls before they come to terms with their feelings.

🍕 - What is their favorite food?

Chicken parmesan for dinner, baklava and black coffee for dessert

💼 - What do they do for a living?

Henry is a student at the current age. His family is too affluent for him to have to work for a living. The trajectory of his life is such that he will likely either join the magic council of San Francisco or be shipped off to Greece to apprentice under his "grandfather," really his immortal ancestor Lelantos. However, most likely, he will not do any of that.

🎹 - Do they have any hobbies?

Henry loves to read heavy tomes, usually fantasy novels if they aren't arcane grimoires.

🎯 -What do they do best?

Henry's greatest talent as a practitioner is to alter the shape and properties of earthen materials. He can make stone and metal soft and spongy on contact or shape it with his hands, which he is quite good at.

🥊 -What do they love to do? What do they hate to do?

Henry loves to sing, and will probably lean more into music as an escape after returning him. He is starting to learn that he hates being told what do do and will soon enter his rebellious phase.

❤️ - What is one of your OC’s best memories?

We explore it in the dream quest novel! He remembers going to the beach as a toddler with his mother. This is one of his last memories of her before she died.

✂️ - What is one of your OC’s worst memories?

Probably what came right after the last one, being told that she had died. I have not fleshed out the details of that incident however.

🧊 - Is their current design the first one?

Like Neville, he underwent a latinization lmao. He was originally a pasty white boy and is now mixed white/afro-latino. I think of this era as the "punished Henry" design since he has grown his hair out long and lost his arm, which were both absent originally.

🍀 - What originally inspired the OC?

the deep lore is that he was based on a big name fan's homestuck fankid. I don't remember either of their names. Just know that someone else made up a black haired child with a big blue coat who was interested in the occult.

🌂 - What genre do they belong in?

Seeing as he was raised among magic with it as his birthright, and is in the process of becoming even more magical, he could only ever be a fantasy character. He would probably do well in one of those political fantasies about warring houses though, mind you.

💚 - What is your OC’s gender identity and sexuality?

Henry is cis and bisexual. I know I said he mostly dates girls back there, but he will show interest in at least a couple boys at one point.

🙌 - How many sibling does your OC have?

Henry has no siblings. He does however have a younger cousin, Ruby, with whom he has been raised, and they see each other as siblings.

🍎 - What is the OC’s relationship w/their parents like?

Henry really wishes they were still alive. He instead is being raised by his aunt. She is a cold woman and difficult to please, but can be loving now and then. He is starting to distrust her, however.

🧠 - What do you like most about the OC?

He just has a certain je ne sais quo...

✏️ - How often do you draw/write about the OC?

There was a period where I didn't talk about him at all because I was unsatisfied with his original introduction and wanted to write a new one. Then when that was done I never shut up about him.

💎 - Do you ever see yourself killing off the OC?

If Henry dies he will simply hatch out of the corpse like a cicada.

💀 - Does your OC have any phobias?

Surprisingly no.

🍩 -Who is your OC’s arch-nemesis or rival?

For nemeses he has his evil genderbent doppelganger from the mirror dimension, Leila. I suppose they could also be construed as rivals due to being in the same age range and having similar abilities. literal foils and such. He is also going to come to hate his grandfather.

November of 2013. I remember because it was a NaNo project.

Master List

Belos was dead. His reign was over. But our story wasn’t over yet. We had to find a way to get back to the demon realm. That wasn’t what I cared about at the moment. My focus was on the boy whose life was drastically changed by this entire series of events. His life was flipped upside down so quickly for him, I just wanted to be there for him through it all.

I stood outside the door of the guest bedroom in the Noceda household. It’s where Hunter currently resided once we all came back to the human realm. I knocked softly against the door.

“It’s me,” I spoke out through the door. “May I come in?”

I listened intently for a reply, and he was so quiet I almost couldn’t hear it, “Yes.”

With permission, I entered his room. I made sure to close the door behind me, and I saw him hunched over himself. I frowned at the sight. His hair was disheveled more than usual and his eyes stared up at me. He looked more tired than before and that’s saying something. My eyes casted down further to Flapjack, his little palismen who was trying to make him feel better.

I walked over and sat next to him, giving him some distance so I didn’t make him uncomfortable. I looked down at my hands, wondering how I could try and make him feel better. I know I can’t fix this situation, I mean Belos was his family, and even if Belos was abusive, he still cared for him. He saw Belos die in front of him, the look on Hunter’s face when that happened still haunts me.

It was silent between us before I broke it, “You look like you need a hug.” Hunter glanced towards me. He then scooted slightly towards me. I took that as a sign that I was in the clear. “C-come here,” I stuttered, wrapping my arms around him and pulling him into a hug.

Hunter held me in return, clinging onto me like his life depended on it. My heart hurt at the thought of how distressed he must feel. I rubbed his back in a soothing manner.

“I k-know you you’re hurting right now,” I whispered to him. “And I’m so sorry. Tell me what will help and I’ll do it.”

I felt him squeeze me, nuzzling his face further into the side of my neck, “Let me hold you for a while, (y/n).”

“Okay,” I replied softly.

Slowly, it turned into a cuddle session. Hunter laid on his back as I laid on top of him. He kept his arms firmly around me, not willing to let go. In return I’d lean up to steal kisses.

I moved up and pecked Hunter on the lips once more, his ears flushing once more. He squeezed my waist and turned his head to the side. I giggled lightly at his reaction. No matter how many times I show him some sort of affection, he always gets flustered. It made me so happy to see his mood pick up slightly.

It was starting to get dark, and I felt my eyes droop. I tried to get closer to Hunter but I don’t think that was possible. A yawn escaped me, and I felt Hunter rub my back, not helping my situation.

“Can we share the bed for tonight, Hunter?” I mumbled drowsily.

“Of course,” He replied softly.
