Genderbends! you know em, you probably have some sort of opinion on them, and so do I! That opinion is that I think they're neat :] However. I think too much. Jason to Jaye? Stephanie to Stephen? Dick to Dix- oh that one might be a bit culturally charged. Ahem. Moving on to my point: I think way too much about names in genderbends, and how a lot of parents don't just have one name that they pick and then change the gender of later. So I prefer to make it up based on how/why I think a character might've been named what they were, and figure it out from there. So that's what's under the read more if you wanna see me ramble for a bit!
(Disclaimer: This isn't meant to shame anyone who does it the easy way. I just put too much thought into this, lol.)
Tumblr media
Richard "Dick" John Grayson. My beloved little guy. One of the easiest ones to do, because Dick as a name has a distinct companion name. Back in ye olden time it doesn't seem too out there to think the two would be associated, and they're both pretty simple of the times names. John turns to Mary, because that's just a typical naming convention. Need a middle name? Just use the same gendered parent's name.
Tumblr media
Jason Peter Todd. His parents seem pretty normal. When I can't think of anything specific I tend to look for either a name with a similar meaning (which you'll see a few of later) or a name with similar popularity. I use behindthename a lot for figuring that out. Jason and Peter just. Didn't have very many options that I liked in any method I tried, so I settled on just using the ones that matched popularity with his original name in the year listed as his New Earth timeline debut.
Tumblr media
Timothy Jackson Drake. Timmy was fun. Timarete is such a weird name and I think it's absolutely delightful. Tim's popularity match was also Kimberly so that was a no go, lol. So I got to bouncing around looking for something with a similar sound or meaning. Timothy means "to honor god", but that was too specific so a went looking for name meanings that mention honor in general. I brainstormed most of these with a friend so I have a list of honorable mentions:
Tumblr media
And the middle name is the same situation as Dick, just switching out the father's name for the mother's.
Tumblr media
Damian Wayne. Ok. I know I said I didn't like to just flip the gender of a name. But Talia has a whole speech about the meaning of Damian's name and why she picked it so I couldn't NOT try to keep it. I did look for a while to try and find a name with the same meaning, but none really fit what it seemed like Talia was going for. Here's some honorable mentions from me trying to find something else:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bruce Thomas Wayne. I saw the popularity match and had to use it.
youtube
And another parent's name for a middle name situation.
Tumblr media
Barbara Gordon. Babs was just fully named after her mom so that's really the easiest of all the name flips.
Tumblr media
Stephanie Brown. Stephanie was a Very popular name, so it felt like it would be reasonable to think Arthur and Crystal might've just flipped open a book of baby names and called it a day. I also couldn't imagine Steph willingly going by Tyler. so I went on a hunt through late 90s/early 00s shows for a character I thought guy Steph might like well enough to snag the name of. And then I found out after the fact that Jude is sometimes short for Judas. Which I thought was very funny so I decided to stick with it.
Tumblr media
Cassandra Cain. There weren't many good options so I kept it simple.

MY TOUGHTS ON PART ONE OF RED HOOD BY CHIP ZDARSKY :)
Finally I have read part one of the Red Hood story in Batman: Urban Legends!
This story is very interesting, we start with the Red Hood looking for the people who are providing Gotham with a new drug. This drug “Cheerdrops” has been passed around for weeks at this point and it has had devastating results among it's users. If you know Jason you understand that drugs are a big issue for him and one that he treats very carefully and seriously.
As he interrogates people he arrives to the building where one of the dealers of this drug is supposed to be, there he finds a horrific scene, a boy is desperately trying to wake up his mother who appears to have overdosed in her bed. Jason is quick to call an ambulance and get in contact with Oracle in order to find the boy's father who is (as he finds out later) the man that he was looking for.
Jason sees this scene and can't help but compare it to the time he went through this situation with his mom all those years ago, so he takes the boy with him so he can take him to his father, who Jason is hoping is a good man that had to sell drugs in order to help his family.
That's basically the premise of this first part of the story but now i will write about my thoughts on the specifics of the story.
The story begins with Jason giving a speech about fear and how it's used,
"Fear. Its a tool, it's his tool. I never really adopted it, maybe because he kept that fear all to himself." Then he continues with "Never had to rely on it, had to work harder to take out the bad guys, had to be...more direct." he finishes that thought with "Rubber Bullets. So that fear doesn't get turned around on me."
I for one really liked this Fear speech, it does really sum up what the Batman does, he relies on the Fear that he imposes on Gotham's criminals and such while Robin on the other hand was never meant to work with fear, which is true.
It did remind me of the speech that Alfred gave in issue #10 of Under the Red Hood about how Batman works with fear and Jason had some thoughts on it, here is some of it,
"Master Jason had a condescending practice of referring to the costumed criminals elements as 'dress ups'. He also noted that such individuals did not fear the Batman the way street thugs and mafioso did. The 'dress ups' did not believe he was a monster." "...the boy did say something to me that chilled me to the bone...even then. 'They all know he won't kill them.'"
Anyway let's go back to the actual comic I am talking about...
Jason speaks from his position as Red Hood in current time and says that he uses rubber bullets in order to keep the Bat at bay, the fear that the Bat uses against other criminals cannot be used against him if he plays within the Bat's rules.
As he was doing that he was actually trying to get info about who is making the drug but all he was able to get was who was selling it to the person he was interrogating. This drug is dangerous and Jason has to work fast.
Here is where we see the first flashback scene, we see Jason in the cave before he was able to go out as Robin and he is not to happy about it. The art is very beautiful but sadly in these panels i found my first problem with the context of Jason becoming Robin and how Zdarsky seems to set Jason's feelings on the first Robin.
Tumblr media
It seems that Zdarsky is going for the “Jason believed Dick was the perfect Robin and no matter what he did he would never be as good as him” route, which fine ok, that's your right but, is it really necessary? I must admit i am a little tired of this particular thing because i adore the fact that when Dick and Jason first met they were fine with one another (even if a little wary at the very start). And the whole competitive and “i will never be as good as X person” is really tiring in the Robin/Batfamily fandom.
That problem is not as significant as the next one though.
Jason not thinking that Robin was “badass”. Well this is not only a bad take but it's completely OOC for Jason, no matter how you see it. From his first appearance as Robin to the flashbacks in Winick's UtRH and even through both of Lobdell's runs Jason has always loved the concept and the mantle of Robin as a child.
Tumblr media
Batman v1, #385.
So that whole take is wrong, i don't like it and also who on this or any universe would rather call themselves Batboy? Honestly i hope this is never brought up again or i will cry. ((((Also in this house Robin will always be the name that Mary gave Dick and then he used as his hero name so it hurts a lot more))))
Also at the end of this first flashback Jason discovers a room full of firearms and is obviously surprised because Batman hates those so he asks why he has them, B responds that he has to understand how they work for his detective work, but that's not all he says, he also says this “...Guns are a coward's weapon, and we will not be cowards.”
Alright Mr. Zdarsky i see the irony... i also see the Daredevil / Punisher thingie right there.
Anyway we are now back to the present where we see Batman seeing the effects of the drug in one of its victims, after saving that person he takes some samples of the drug. We also get to see two police officers with different views on the “masks”, that's a nice way to set the story after the Joker War and before the Magistrate.
Back to Jason, he seems to be struggling, he can't find the people making/providing the drugs in Gotham and is also doubting his skills, he tells a man that if the information that he gave him is incorrect he “will find him” followed with another internal speech full of self doubt, “...sure thing Red Hood, right now you can't even find a street drug. Half of Gotham's teenagers could find it no problem. You never were the best detective.”
Alright, so Jason feels insecure about his skills now? First you have pre-Robin Jason not feeling like he could be able to keep up with the first Robin and now, Jason as a grown man has doubts about the skills that he has used for a long while now? I mean, press X for DOUBT because UtRH showed us how much of a badass and extremely skilled he is. This man planed everything in order to turn the Bat's world upside down (and this story has references to UtRH so it definitely happened) and now he feels like he is not that good?
Shit. i know where this is going, first the insecurities that he has already worked out... I can see it coming, the next big thing will be Daddy issues. Wonderful i hate it and i hope i am wrong because those “issues” are more than resolved, i know that's the only trope DC throws at Jason but honestly how different will it be this time?
Fine, lets move on. Jason finds himself in one of the apartments and what he sees is horrifying. Lying on a bed there is a woman completely catatonic with a horrible smile on her face and right next to her a terrified little boy.
Here is the best take on Jason's character so far.
Realizing that the child is scared of the situation and the masked man that just came into his home Jason takes off his mask and reassures the kid that he is there to help, it's quickly made obvious that the woman has overdosed on Cheerdrops, he makes sure to call an ambulance for her stating that she seems to be in a  drug-related coma.
Its important to note that Jason is doing this as he is having troubling thoughts about how much this scene reminds him of the time he was in this little boy's (Tyler) shoes. Its hard for him but he soon realizes that he needs to make sure Tyler is safe.
He asks Tyler if he has another parent, he does and his name is Andy, after taking a look around the house Jason deduces that maybe the father is also taking drugs so if the police comes they will surely take Tyler and put him in the system, this idea is not one Jason is fond of so he calls Oracle, he asks if she can locate Tyler's dad's phone, when she asks about the kid Jason says that he will be the one keeping him safe.
Tumblr media
Now we find ourselves back with Batman where he is investigating the components of Cheerdrops, he finds out that the drug is a modified version of Scarecrow's fear gas that gives the victim a sense of extreme happiness instead of fear.
Here we get confirmation of when in the timeline this story occurs, which is after the events of Infinite Frontier (where there was an attack on Arkham and many patients/prisoners were killed or escaped).
B suggests to Oracle that maybe Crane didn't die there and that he might be behind this drug, he will be on the job right away! To this Oracle is like well shit, so she tells B that Jason is also working this case...and here comes a funny yet confusing interaction.
Tumblr media
Barbara says “I know you two aren't exactly friends right now but...” before she finishes Batman interrupts her by saying “He is a killer Barbara. I will do this alone.”
OH BOY is this interaction confusing! First of all may i point out how different this conversation is from the one in Three Jokers where the roles were basically reversed??? Please tell me that i am not the only one who finds that funny! Anyway that story doesn't matter here, but Red Hood Outlaw from Rebirth does, right?
Here is the thing, the last person that Jason “killed” in rebirth was Penguin and he actually didn't do it, he had him trapped in a panic room in his own Casino. Batman already beat the living shit out of Jason in RHatO #25 for it...and some time has passed, B surely found out that Jason didn't kill Penguin by now, i mean isn't he like the best detective to ever detective in the history of the universe??
Not only that but Jason has been using rubber bullets for a while and even at the start he mentions that, he basically implies that he is playing by the Bat's rules to keep him off his back. Maybe B hasn't let go of the duffel bag full of heads or any of the shitty people Jason killed during UtRH??? If B still holds that against Jason then why would he try to make Jason part of his Bat clan at the beginning of RHatO Rebirth?
Maybe he still thinks that Jason killed the penguin...but even then isn't B working with Harley and Ghost-Maker? You know, people who have killed? Why is Jason different? Did Jason kill someone recently that we don't know about? Jason only kills a very distinct set of people (that are very not nice) so i guess i don't see the logic...
Anyway second flashback, and this time we have a look at what was going on in the Batcave with B and Alfred during the events of UtRH! Nothing that wasn't explored in UtRH is said here but we do see Alfred explicitly telling Bruce how much they failed Jason. There is a heavy insinuation that the fact that Batman keeps sending the Joker to Arkham only for him to escape and kill more people actually makes B responsible for those deaths and i love that. Thank you.
Tumblr media
Back to Jason and Tyler we get to see some very adorable scenes between the two. Jason gives the lower half of his mask to Tyler to protect his identity like a superhero and we have a really sweet moment in which Tyler chooses the Blue Hood as his name because he likes the colour blue (same Tyler).
Tumblr media
After he leaves Tyler in a place where he will be safe he goes to the building where Andy should be and let me tell you the more Jason sees the less hopeful he becomes about Andy being just one of the people selling the drug... He does some shooting and incapacitating and then follows the man that is trying to escape and here is when shit hits the fan.
Andy is a disgusting human being. He hates Tyler's mother and doesn't care that she might be dead and the piece of shit hates his son so much that he gave a barely 10 year old drugs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yeah. BANG BANG BANG MOTHERFUKER.
Tumblr media
If you think that this leads to Jason being a little more like his UtRH self, you know the guy that said that people who gave drugs to kids will get killed without a thought...yeah that's not happening, here comes the guilt!
Tumblr media
I get it he just killed a man, but, did you read what that man said?
Anyway that's how the first part of this story ends.
The story is good. it has things that don't make much sense but i think it's because Zdarsky is a Batman fan and not a Red Hood fan in the sense that he doesnt know much about Jason's character and that this is his first ever DC work.
I cant wait to see where this story goes, while i hope “unresolved daddy issues” doesn't become a theme yet again in a Red Hood story i believe it's where we are headed. I will keep on reading because i am invested in Jason and Tyler's relationship and what is going to happen now that Jason killed Andy.
Let me know what you thought about the issue and my post if you want! Bye!

Missing
There are seven holes. Seven. But they aren't seven different nests, they're tunnels, with seven openings to the surface of the Earth. You only know that because Eleven spent the whole night focused on finding them, seated in the living room of Joyce's place, a piece of fabric covering her eyes. The map from before remained on the floor beside her, and she reached out to draw where the tunnels reach. You barely had any sleep, just the pair of hours you slept with your head on Billy's shoulder, seated on the couch, but someone's voice woke you up.
Relief fills your heart when the morning comes. During the night, you could only think about those things lurking around. After a quick shower, and using one of Eleven's shirt, you go to the kitchen and decide to have breakfast there, where you can be alone. Eating a bowl of cereal, you run a hand through your hair, trying to understand how are you going back to the pool today and act like none of this is happening.
“Hey, princess,” Billy says, coming into the kitchen. Hair is still wet and wearing only his jacket. “Are you ok?”
“I'm trying to be.” Pushing the bowl away, you watch as he makes himself the same meal you had. “Wondering how am I going to work today.”
“Wanna stay here? I can tell Anthony that you're sick. If he even shows up.”
“No. It'll be worse if I stay.” You're confused, not sure what's the best or what's worse. But at least in the pool you'll have something normal going on.
“Hey, you two,” Joyce says as she comes in. Her voice gets your attention, and when you look at her after exchanging a glance with Billy, you see that Hopper is right behind her, arms crossed and eyebrows furrowed together. “How are you two doing?”
“Uhm... Good.” It sounds like a question. Joyce sits at the table, with Hopper standing behind her. He has the chief face on, and you have no idea why. “Everything alright? Are we in trouble or something?” Gesturing at you and Billy, and cross your legs, an eye on the clock because you'll still need to stop by home to get the swimsuit.
“No, of course not. It's just that the kids were talking about something and–”
“Are you two living together?" Hopper speaks up, swallowing Joyce's words. She gives him a hard stare, and there's some kind of conversation going on through facial expressions that you can't understand.
“Yes.” You answer, not sure why you're in this situation in the first place. You feel like you're having the talk with Diane all over again. Diane. You have to call her, just to make sure everything is alright. “Why?”
“There were some rumors running around that–”
“That Billy Hargrove got some chick pregnant.” Hopper again. But this time Joyce slaps his arm.
“We agreed you'd let me do this.” She whispers.
“Then just get to the damn point.” He snaps back.
With wide eyes, you look at Billy. He doesn't seem bothered by this, peacefully eating his cereal. There's a smile on his lips that he tries to hold back, but you know him far too well now. You can see it. He's having fun.
“Look, guys, Uhm... These rumors started after I fainted on the pool, but it was from heat exhaustion, so...” Deciding to just end whatever this is, you speak up, kicking Billy's leg and whispering to him. “Say something.”
“(Y/N), honey, do your parents know about that?”
This makes you laugh, but then you remember Joyce doesn't know about your relationship, or better saying, the lack of it. “No, and I don't plan on doing that. But my aunt Diane does.”
“And she allowed it?” Hopper takes his time pronouncing every word as if this is absurd. “You're lucky you're not my daughter.”
“Hopper, just...” Joyce mumbles, her voice fading. “We just wanted to make sure you guys are... You know... Going somewhere with this. Living together is something really big and important to do.”
“I'll only say two things.” Billy finally makes his presence known, getting up and throwing his bowl in the sink. “First of all, I'm planning on marrying (Y/N). Second, we better go now or we'll be late. Again.”
There's a weird buzz in your ears as Billy takes your hand and starts pulling you with him. Joyce and Hopper have wide eyes, mouth half-open, in shock. You're not that different, and all your body is able to do is keep following Billy outside and to his car. You're silently looking through the window as he drives, but you're doing that on purpose, just to get back at him for saying that out of the blue.
“Aren't you gonna say anything?” He asks parking in front of the house.
“Absolutely not.” Stepping out of the car, you don't wait for him, heading inside. “If you really wanna do what you said, I'll patiently wait until you propose, Hargrove.” Turning around just enough to wink at him, you bite back a smile.
You're quick to get ready and manage not to be late. The song is blasting when Billy pulls over on his parking spot, and the moment the song is gone, you hear the chattering, noticing three police cars.
Your heart skips a beat when you leave the car, taking a deep breath. “Hey,” Billy calls, taking your hand. “Let's check what happened before jumping to conclusions, ok?”
“Ok.” Holding his arm, you move to the entrance, where a small crowd gathers. Hopper is here, and by the messy way of his clothes, he had to run over here. He immediately notices you and Billy, a sad look on his face. And that's when you see Monica, running a hand through her hair, tears glistening on her cheeks.
“Mon?” Calling, you let go of Billy and runs to her. Monica breaks a little bit when she sees you, and you're quick to hug her. “Mon, what happened?”
“It's Jason. My cousin is missing, (Y/N).” She cries on your shoulder, and you close your eyes tight because the first thing that comes to your head is probably what got him. The Demodogs. “He went out yesterday to buy dinner a-and his mom called mine saying he was taking long and...” You pull away, holding her hands. “...that was early evening yesterday. And he's still missing. The family spent the whole night looking for him and–”
“Mon, I'm sure we'll find him.” It's hard to lie. It's even harder not to break down in front of her. “Maybe he felt bad and fainted or something like that. We'll find him.”
“I hope so.”
“I'll drive you home, ok? Billy can keep the pools safe for one day.”
When she nods, drying off some tears, you make your way over him, who's talking to Hopper. He probably already knows, but you try to keep a straight face.
“Come here, princess.” He opens his arms and you don't even hesitate, hugging him tightly. “I'm so sorry. But we'll find him. The party is already aware of everything.” Whispering on my ear, Billy places a kiss on the top of your hair.
“I...” Getting rid of the single tear that escaped your efforts to hold it back, you pull away. “I'll take her home, she's very shaken. Can you just keep an eye–”
“Keep an eye on the kids, of course.” He bends over to kiss you, and your arms, almost automatically, move to be around his neck. “I'll pick you up after work, ok? I love you.”
“I love you.” It still makes you blush to hear those words, but you absolutely love to say it back. After one last kiss, you part ways.
Monica talks as you drive to her place, sharing memories with her cousin. Some of them you already know, but you don't stop her, laughing and making silly comments, trying to keep her mind away from the fact that Jason is missing.
Your mind also starts remembering. Obviously, you didn't have all the time around Jason that Monica had, but he was one of the first people you met when you got here. He's always smiling, carrying his siblings around, always complaining, but always happy to be with them. Jason is funny, even when he's the only one who actually gets his jokes.
Jason is missing.
Demidogs need a lot of food. An almost 6 feet tall male human has a lot of meat.
Shaking your head lightly, you push these thoughts away. No breaking down now. Monica needs you strong, to keep her strong too. Her family is either at Jason's or still looking, so you're alone. Both of you stay seated on her bed, and you give her your shoulder when she starts crying again. He's gone for one night and she's already losing it... If anything bad happens...
Her parents return home a couple of hours later, thankful to you for taking her back home. You drag her into the living room, turning the TV on this random movie and trying to convince her to pay some attention. You can hear her parents in the kitchen, making lunch, but you also hear when her mother cries, the low, cracking voice as she talks to her husband. It's getting hard by the minute to stay here, pretending you don't know what probably happened, but if you cry, if you start doubting Jason is ok, Monica will break apart.
A knock on the door, an unusually loud and frenetic knock, gets your attention. Looking over your shoulder, you see as Monica's father goes to answer it.
“Hi. Is (Y/N) here?” You hear a feminine voice, and you soon recognize it's Nancy.
Excusing yourself, you get up. “Yes, she's–”
“Hey.” You go to the front door, seeing Nancy and two cars in the sidewalk, many eyes looking at you. “Something wrong?”
“Sorry, but we need you. Uhm... Maxine is sick. We need to have a doctor check on her.”
“What?” You exclaim, running a hand through your hair. “Mon.” Calling her, you quickly make your way back to the living room. “I'm so sorry, but Maxine is feeling ill, I have to go. But I promise I'll call you later, ok?”
“Sure. Go help.” She says, nodding and clearing her throat since her voice is all clouded by her crying.
“Stay calm, honey. Jason is alright, I'm sure.” Another lie. You shouldn't make promises you don't know if you can keep. Giving her a quick hug, you run outside, muttering a goodbye to Mon's father as Nancy does the same.
“We'll go looking for him.” She says in a low voice as you move toward the cars. “We don't stand still when shit happens.”
Her choice of words makes you raise your eyebrows. You never heard her saying anything like that. “Thanks.” Muttering, you seat shotgun in Steve's car as she goes to Jonathan's. There are four kids on the back seat, fighting for some more space. You're happy to see Max is alright. For a moment, you thought she was really sick.
You park in the woods, and there are already some people here. Everyone but Hopper, because he has to be in the official search party, and Billy. God, you wish Billy was here.
“Alright, let's do this,” Mike says, and he freely starts separating you in groups. “Eleven and Will with me. Lucas, Jonathan, and Robin. Uhm... Max, Steve, and (Y/N). Joyce–”
“Why are you messing up the groups, man. I wanna go with Max.” Lucas complains and Mike rolls his eyes. “Groups of four, as usual.”
“Since when?”
“Alright, just gather in groups, c'mon, guys,” Joyce says, eyeing both her kids until they go to stand by her side, alongside Nancy.
You move to stand with Max and Lucas, and after playing rock, paper, scissors with Robin, Steve comes to your group. You raise your eyebrows at him, trying to get why they had to use that method to choose a group. “Nobody wants to be with these two lovebirds.” He says when he's close enough.
“That's something I can understand.” There's no doubt Max and Lucas are into each other, but they're constantly fighting. It's funny to watch, actually.
“Let's get started then, guys. Be careful, pay attention to the radios, and let's find Jason.” Joyce announces, taking over Hopper's role in this.
And everyone starts moving, each group in a different direction. You're going to the holes first, just to check, and then you'll cover a specific area. Max and Lucas are once again responsible for the map and walk a couple of feet ahead.
“Hey. Take this.” Steve gets your attention, taking the bat from his backpack and handing it over to you. “I know Jason was a close friend of yours. Sorry this happened.”
“Yeah.” You lay the bat over your shoulder, careful not to entangle your hair in the nails. “I really thought it couldn't get any worse but life proved me wrong.”
“I remember when Will went missing. I was a total jerk back then so I didn't really care.” You glance over to Steve, and he has an apologetic look on his face. “They found the body and there was a funeral. But the body was fake and Will was fine in the end.”
“Someone should make a movie out of that story.” You mumble, taking a deep breath. “Do you think Jason could be in the... Upside Down?”
“No. According to Eleven, no portals were open. The Demodogs just made these woods into their new home and are doing what it takes to survive.” Through the corner of your eyes, you see when he almost slips, opening his arms slightly to regain balance. “Don't laugh.” He says, but you're already chuckling. “Anyway, wherever he is, he's here.”
“Why don't we tell Eleven to just use her powers and find him. Wouldn't it be easier?”
“These woods are huge. And we usually just do that when it's the last resource.” Lucas answers.
“We don't like pushing her. It always brings back sad memories.”
That's something you can understand perfectly. “We do it the old way then.” You've seen how complicated it is. Eleven's nose wouldn't stop bleeding while she was figuring out the tunnels, and after while blood came out of her ears too. As much as you want to find Jason, you'd never ask her or the party to do something just so you'd feel better. They're in it far longer than you, so you trust them to make the decisions and set the pace. “I just hope he's alright. He's Monica's cousin, and she's worried to death.”
“Yeah, I get that.” It doesn't go unnoticed how Steve doesn't make false promises as you did with Monica. He doesn't say he's ok, that you'll find him. Running a hand through your hair, you take a deep breath, confused between having hopes or just expecting the worse. “So, changing the subject.” He speaks again. “You and Hargrove. I never thought Billy would actually fall in love.”
A smile comes to your lips, and you're thankful for having something else to think about. “Yeah. It took a while for me to believe that but he... He worked hard.” Involuntary, your hand goes for the necklace, fingers playing with the earring.
“Joyce and Hopper were saying something about marriage...” It sounds like a question, and you give Steve a glance, giggling. “They were trying not to let anyone hear them but Hopper doesn't really know how to whisper.”
By the heat spreading through your cheeks, you know you're blushing. Could it be real? Would Billy marry you? Is he really considering such a thing? “We spoke about it, Uhm... Twice, I think. But not a real conversation, he just spilled it out.”
“Holy shit, he's going serious with you then.” He playfully elbows your arm. By what you've seen and by what Max told you, Steve usually grows protective of everyone since he joined the party, and you think it's cute. He's like everyone's babysitter. “Send me an invitation, would you?”
“I will.”
“You–”
Maxine's yell cuts him short, getting your attention as you notice you have fallen behind. Immediately, you and Steve start running towards then.
“Man, that's...” Lucas says as Max hugs him, eyes tightly shut.
You're about to ask them what the hell happened when you follow Lucas' scared stare.
It's a weird sensation when you're brain refuses to take in the information. When your eyes, focused on something, are blind. And your ears are deaf and the wind blowing doesn't touch your skin. It's like you're not there.
Jason's body is stuck between a big rock and a dead tree. His torso is opened up, and there's nothing inside.
As there's nothing inside Jason anymore. He's empty. Body and soul. There will be no laughter leaving his lips, no more jokes, no more arms to carry his baby siblings around. Nothing. Just flesh and bones, both ripped apart.
“(Y/N).” You're sure it's not the first time you hear someone calling your name, but you're not even sure where it comes from.
You only move when an arm pulls you, and you feel it around you. “We have to go. C'mon.” Steve says, and, far and distant, you hear static, and voices, coming from the radio. “(Y/N).”
“I need Billy.” It's the only thing that comes to your head, and you find a way to force the words out of your throat.
“Alright, let's go,” Steve says, and you're only set on motion because of his arm around your shoulders.
Everything is a blur. You notice people moving around, and some of them come to hug you as they start regrouping near the cars. Nodding and thanking their kind words, you remain silent, arms crossed, the image still burning in your brain.
Jason's rib cage broken open, the blood staining his clothes and the ground around him. His head twisted in an awkward way, neck probably disconnected from the body.
“Let's get moving. She wants to talk to Billy.”
“The pool will close in an hour. Take her home.”
“No, she's scaring me. We need to take her to Billy.” Max intervenes, and Steve pulls you to his car. You let Max seat shotgun, feeling better in the backseat where you can curl into a ball, knees pressed against your chest as the landscape passes by.
It reminds you the first time you saw that thing. You were trying to beat Billy, driving back to your place. Maybe, if you had gone to the police station the next day, let them know something was out there, you could've avoided this. But who would believe you? You didn't believe it either. What are you going to tell Monica? After saying things would be ok, that they would find Jason alive and well when you knew being out in the woods all night long probably meant he'd become Demodog's meal.
You knew it, yet you lied. Vain hope is the worst kind of hope, and that's what you gave her.
“(Y/N).” Steve gets your attention, touching your shoulder. “We're at the pool.”
Blinking a few times to wake up from the stupor, you bolt out of the car, making your way to the entrance. It's crowded today, but you don't see faces, you just see obstacles.
It finally starts kicking in.
You went to find Jason, and you did. But instead of the dear friend you so easily grew to love, you found a dead, empty corpse. The tears threat to overflow as you rudely bump into people, making your way through the pool. At a distance, you see the moment Billy finally notices the commotion, his eyes quick to find you. By the way his face changes, the way he takes off his sunglasses and jumps to the ground, shoving people out of his way, you must be looking terrible.
But you don't care. Billy is everything you need, the only thing you see and you know you can break down in his arms. You just need to reach him, and when you do, you collapse against his chest, not able to hold back the tears anymore, the sobs building up your throat as you hold onto him.
“I'm so sorry,” Billy mumbles in your ear. He knows. How could he not?
You suddenly feel him lifting you up, and you hide your teary face on the crook of his neck. Seconds later you're at the locker room, and Billy screams for the other girls to get out as he puts you down, seated on one of the benches.
“I'm so sorry, (Y/N).” He repeats, kneeled before you, thumbs coming to dry off some tears, just to make space for more.
“I saw him. H-he was all eaten, Billy. His body was-his body was wide open and everything was gone–”
“Stop, stop.” He begs, pulling you into a hug. “You don't have to tell me, not now.” Nodding, you take in his scent, feeling safe, secure, despite the terror creeping under your skin. “I'll take you home, ok?”
“No.” You mutter, pulling away just enough so you're foreheads are touching. You don't know what comes to you, but this has to be said. This feeling has to be let out. Not after, not tomorrow. Now. Maybe it's the fact that you saw death for the very first time. You just need to let him know “You're my home.”

Dick Grayson x Mercenary Reader HCs Part 1
a/n: This is basically a Dick Grayson/ Reader thingy that has been stuck in my head for months but I haven’t plotted out an actual fic for. Basically, I have the relationship mapped out in my head but I have no scenarios. I was hoping someone could suggest a plot I can play with. This part is mostly platonic with hints of a future relationship. This is pretty much in a weird version of canon running around in my head.
masterlist
You’re Deathstroke’s apprentice. (This version is the version from the Knights and Dragons movie so he isn't a complete and utter asshole. Look, I just really like that version.) Let's just say you had more moxie than self preservation. It also helps that you’re a meta with a pretty unique power. Anything drawn on your skin turns into a physical object. (You basically have a bunch of permanent markers on you in addition to your usual equipment.)
Dick doesn't like you because of your profession but has a grudging respect for your skill. You think Dick is annoying for getting in the way but you understand that he's just trying to do his best to help the city in his own useless way.
YOU LORDING YOUR HEIGHT OVER DICK WHEN YOU'RE KIDS AND YOU QUIETLY CURSING WHEN YOU STOP GROWING.
You and Dick never set out to be friends. You honestly had no clue when this even started. Maybe it was because you keep accidentally saving each other or maybe because you two have a lot to bond over such as murdered parents and emotionally inept mentors.
When it actually started: You, in full  costume, recognize your least favourite bird and see that he's crying and that he not only has an ugly bruise in his face but also a bunch of other injuries. you simply sit with him and throw your arms around him letting your muscles relax as if to tell him ‘it's ok and that you’ve got him’. You let him cry into your shoulder. You understand that you have a little more in common than he's willing to admit. You use one of your motion tattoo wings as a cover from the rain and the other to keep Dick warm. When Dick finally calms down enough to think, he's jarred by how nice you are acting. your general demeanor loosened at this point you let your offense show and the very petulant look on your face draws a tired laugh out of Dick. your angry look melts to give way to something resembling relief. You stay there for a while not speaking before Dick decides he needs to leave. Without a fuss you let him go.
After that, instead of fighting each other during encounters, you two kind of just sit together and start talking about what happened since your last encounter. Or you two play rock, paper, scissors to see who ‘won’.
Dick realizes that your personality is hilariously incompatible with your chosen profession. You rant about how Slade lectures you about learning how to lie better and when they tested how bad you were at it Dick was sure Alfred would politely word it as wooden. you had good control over your body language but you had a look caught between pain and annoyance etched on your face.
Mini scenario:
Dick is really stressed out with school and vigilanteing and with Bruce that he just starts wandering around Gotham.
It was a bad idea. Wandering around Gotham is generally a bad idea especially if your head isn't on straight but there is something relaxing about just wandering around.
Dick ends up at one of Gotham's old movie theatres. One of those businesses that you're pretty sure is a front for something because you can't wrap your head around how they could possibly still be in business.
Then there you were a foot from the ticketing windows. His mind instantly recognizes you. You, in turn, recognize him instantly.
When neither of you launch into an attack, you decide to watch a movie together. After bickering for 15 minutes about what movie you should watch, you decide on a coin toss. Because you won, Dick was subjected to your love of terrible movies.
You go out for burgers afterwards and joke about the movie. You complain about the bad acting and the ridiculous story line. You even come up with how they should have done it.
Your lunch was spent outside in the parking lot of the burger joint.
You walk around some more after you explain that you haven't been to this part of Gotham and Dick gives you a mini tour.
You talk about a mix of mundane teenager things and some complaints about their occupations.
You check your watch and explain that you need to go to the grocery store for ingredients.
Dick goes with you just because. He won't admit that he's having a lot of fun.
Being teenagers they fuck around. Being exceptionally athletic and intelligent teenagers you fuck around entertainingly.
At first, you play 'the price is right' because Dick wants to prove he isn't a spoiled rich kid. He doesn't prove jack. You don't do much better but it's on the opposite end.
You get bored and frustrated so you start a scavenger hunt much to the terror of the other customers. How would you feel about 2 terrors zooming around screaming about butter and backflipping over you?
Dick is busy gloating about his victory when the store gets robbed. Dick can't do anything because right now he is a rich boy extraordinaire and should not be capable of fighting. you on the other hand is sore from losing and just yeets a can into one of the robbers faces.
Everyone's attention pans to your as you ready to lob another can at them. The robbers run leaving their unconscious friend on the floor bleeding.
You still pay for the can but ask Dick to get another one.
Walking down the street, Dick notices how many take out places are on the way and asks why you don't just eat from there. you simply tell him you like home cooking more. He notes that for next time.
You exchange phone numbers so you can plan a next time.
The next time they hang out you both bring homemade snacks to sneak into the theater.
They start hanging out in civvies and do really mundane civilian stuff you want to try and that Dick doesn't get to do enough.
You become a sort of hub of normality for Dick. He can talk to you about all the weird stuff without worrying about your not getting it or your judging him while also doing the most mind numbingly human things.
What do they usually talk about:
Casual nerdy stuff
Weird history shit you reads about
Vigilante stuff
Funny henchman stories from the perspective of a vigilante and a higher level henchman
Sometimes they talk about trauma but they only vaguely mention it
They debate over dumb things like whether there's too much variety in cereal. Guess who's on which side.
Sometimes they discuss fighting techniques.
Dick teaches you Romani and about the Romani culture
You sometimes explains various myths and superstitions from your own culture
Dick sometimes talks about school and galas and you end up making fun of weird rich people. They also end up making fun of the various rich people who hire you.
You'll talk about almost everything with each other
You bring him to one of your safe houses for a home cooked meal after he tells you how he lives off of cereal. You were horrified.
The Titans, Batman, and Alfred get really suspicious about Dick's new civilian friend.
Slade gets suspicious of you frequently visiting certain cities.
Somehow they figure out that you are the wraith.
They all lecture Dick about it.
Slade just finds the whole thing amusing and debates on whether he can actually convince you to give up some of Grayson's secrets.
I just love the image of them casually hanging out in civvies with Batman questioning Dick's life decisions and what your has been influenced by his relationship with Catwoman while Deathstroke and Wintergreen are just quietly amused by the situation at some point they were worried about you discussing merc stuff but neither talk about current business unless it's safe to.
Wintergreen isn't particularly worried since Grayson is a good kid. Wintergreen once joked that you should convince him to join their side. You said that Dick didn't have the right personality to be a merc. The irony of this was completely lost on your.
You spending a ton of your hard earned mercenary money to win a stuffed toy that you think little Rose would want. Dick making fun of you for not getting it then he ends up spending too much money but he eventually gets it. You and Dick pass by a shop and you see the exact same stuffed toy in the shop window for a sixteenth of the fortune you spent at the arcade. Good news though, Rose still has the stuffed toy.
Both of you being petty at dance dance revolution.
When you rant to each other in less than private areas, you rapidly switch languages.
Unbeknownst to Slade, Dick actually knows a bunch of his safe houses and unbeknownst to Dick, those are Deathstroke's safe houses.  You are technically not lying when you say it's yours.
You have a silent pact not to blow each other's covers unless they deem it completely necessary (when people's lives are at stake). The only person who knows this pact is Jason and they have bought his silence.
You will both go out of their way to help each other out of a bind.
Sometimes when Bruce and Alfred are out of town and the stars align to have you visiting for a job, you end up helping Dick babysit. Jason gets confused and defensive at first. You have dealt with distrustful youngins. Neither Rose nor Joey wanted anything to do with you at first. You, however, grew up wanting siblings so you tried your darndest to look after them and it is really fucking hard to not let this munchkin grown on you.
When you're old enough to hit the club they often go drinking together. You once tried to have you wingman for Dick. Using the ‘fantastic’ negotiating skills you got from mercenary work, you ended up getting the number for yourself. You once told Rose and Joey about it and both of them made lighthearted jokes about it.
Dick gets confronted by Slade at sword point and asks what his intentions are with his kid (He honestly isn't at all serious but he likes how scared Dick got because the man is terrifying.)
Dick also gets interrogated by Joey and Rose because, you know, this is their big sister.
You often insist on family dinners at least once every 2 weeks with your siblings, sometimes with their mom (Adeline is kind of not ok with you and Rose being present but is trying her best for Joey's sake), sometimes with their dad, occasionally with their uncle Wintergreen.
You usually just casually call Slade 'pops'  and you drawls 'dad' when you’re pissed and 'papa' when you’re emotional. You try your damndest to only call him Slade or Deathstroke on the field but sometimes you slip up and calls him pops in the field
You have batnapped each batkid at least once. Batnapping meaning seeing a baby bat and throwing them over your shoulder when you’re pretty sure they’re going to get killed. This isn’t limited to kids. You still do this when they’re adults. The image of you throwing Dick over your shoulder when you two were tiny gives me life but you throwing Dick and/or Jason over your shoulder when they’re huge has me cackling.
You basically accidentally become a de facto big sister/ mom friend to the batkids purely through your friendship with Dick.
Images from this scenario I can’t get out of my head:
Stargazing
Teaching Dick how to cook. He just ends up going to your place for a meal though.
Running around during a rain storm huddled under a jacket with Dick because neither of you checked the weather
Casual affection you two share because you’re both tactile people. Casual affection as in just sitting on the couch in each other’s space, bumping shoulders to communicate, leaning on each other, hugging each other when greeting each other, and all that good stuff.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks for reading! I’m really sorry for the grammar and disorganization.
If you guys are interested in the more bickering dialogue heavy part 2 either comment here or send an ask or pm me. *shrugs* This is just really self indulgent on my part.

I know I’ve sent you so many asks but like... I find it soooo funny how so many people in the fandom twist Jason’s past as the villain redhood. It’s all so sad and tragic and “oh no this poor bby boy” when canon Jason was like “yea I murder all those bastards, what about it little bitch???” just absolutely of the shits
its ok i am always welcome to asks i am just a little slow goin’ through ‘em sometimes when theres a ton jdhsh
BUT LMAO YEAH its. Pre-Reboot Jason, my beloved, really was not the ‘angsty sadboi’ a lot of people interpret Jason to be nowadays (and by a lot of people I don’t just mean fandom I am very much so including Scott Lobdell writer of Red Hood and the Outlaws. New 52 and on Jason is very different from Pre-New 52 Jason)
Like, he had angst obviously through Under the Red Hood & all that, very understandably, but after that like... he was goin’ off and killing as he saw fit while frequently smiling about it. I think a lot of people avoid reading some of his stuff from back then aside from UtRH itself (and Lost Days) because most of it definitely IS all over the place because not many writers really agreed on what to do with him, but I think he’s interesting. Aside from Battle for the Cowl & Morrison’s interpretation of him early in Batman and Robin 2009, which I think are the commonly considered ‘worst’ instances of Jason writing back then, I think pre-reboot Jason is just a very fun wildcard! He doesn’t really feel remorse for what he’s doing because he feels very justified in it. Like he does for the most part care about innocent people, but he also has no qualms putting bullets into the people he thinks deserve it. He got into a regular prison and immediately poisoned the cafeteria food to just get rid of as many criminals as he could LMAO. He was just... like that! He’s a very interesting challenge to the ideals of the batfam as a whole, and I think the direction DC decided to go with him in the New 52 and on was less interesting.
A Jason who is a regular part of the batfam (even as the ‘black sheep’ he’s still been part of it more or less in recent stuff) is making a lot of compromises on his ideals, which I understand for some situations, but in general I think he’s a wayyyy more interesting character when he’s primarily in opposition to them and tryin to do things his own way, only making those compromises occasionally for very important things, but still also having a form of attachment to them (like the times he reached out to the others to try and get them to join him)

PJO/HoO/ToA characters as MCU quotes. You don’t need to know MCU context, because it’s just about the meaning of the quote for the character. **TBM and *slight* ToN spoilers, read at your own risk**
Percy: “I’m with you til the end of the line, pal.”-Bucky Barnes “I don’t want to kill anyone. I don’t like bullies. I don’t care where they’re from.”-Steve Rogers
These two should be pretty self explanatory. Bucky and Steve are loyal to each other the way Percy is to all of those he loves, his fatal flaw being personal loyalty. Percy is someone who can’t stand bullies just like Steve, considering his time with Gabe. Both of them had dealt with horrible situations that made them sympathetic. I just feel like these fit him perfectly.
Annabeth: “I have nothing to prove to you.”-Carol Danvers
I couldn’t find one that clicked for Annabeth in my head, but this quote to me shows how strong of a person Annabeth is considering what she’s had to deal with since she was 7. I feel like she could say this to anyone, even Percy, and no one would question her, because she truly doesn’t need to prove anything to anyone.
Nico: “It’s not about how much we lost. It’s about how much we have left.”-Tony Stark
This one may not seem as good of a fit, but hear me out here. Nico has lost so much throughout his life and had to deal with his identity. His mother, Bianca, Jason. He loves very strongly and when he loses someone, he is devastated. But once he figures out how to move on from what he’s lost, he can turn to what he has left: Hazel, Will, Reyna.
Jason: “Whatever happens tomorrow, you must promise me one thing. To stay who you are. Not a perfect soldier, but a good man.”-Abraham Erskine “Don’t waste it. Don’t waste your life”-Ho Yinsen
PAODIGDSFGN the Erskine quote to Steve is what made me want to make this textpost because it could be said to Jason, and it would fit right in with his story. Steve and Jason’s stories can be compared quite easily, even if you have to dig a bit before you make any connections. The Yinsen line to Tony fits him too well, and imagining Jason saying that to Piper...
Leo: “I came to realize that I had more to offer this world than just making things that blow up.”-Tony Stark
Sure, this one looks like I didn’t really try, but Leo was honestly one of the more difficult characters for me to match. Leo and Tony are so alike it’s not even funny, and I like to try and see through Leo’s humor to find the other facets of his personality. Leo has always felt like the 7th wheel, which he technically is, but this Tony quote matches with Leo realizing his part in the plan, even if it’s going against all of his friends’ wishes. He finally feels like he is doing his part, instead of just being the extra.
Piper: “The world has changed and none of us can go back. All we can do is our best, and sometimes the best we can do is to start over.”-Peggy Carter
Ok so I don’t really care for Piper, so I didn’t put as much effort into this one, but this quote can still fit her pretty well. This is something that would apply to her after Jason has passed, and refers to her moving on to her new girlfriend. Sure, it’s definitely faster than anyone should move on from a dead ex, but she’s trying her best, and that’s all we can ever do, right?
Reyna: “We must find a way to look after one another, as if we were one single tribe.”-T’challa
I couldn’t find a quote that fit Reyna as well as I wanted it to, but this one still works. I feel like a lot of people forget what her demigod powers actually are. Yeah, she’s super helpful in battle and is a great comrade, but her actual power is giving others strength. Strength is literally her power, and this quote from T’challa seems to mirror that quite well.
Frank: “I choose to run towards my problems, and not away from them. Because that’s what heroes do.”-Thor
Frank started out as a more timid, hesitant person who wasn’t exactly willing to take risks. This is mainly due to him being worried about his wooden lifeline, but then by Trials of Apollo, he has overcome this fear, and saves Camp Jupiter. I think Frank was slow to accept his position in any situation, not entirely confident in his abilities, but he gets there eventually and becomes the hero he was meant to be.
Hazel: “Even if the whole world is telling you to move, it is your duty to plant yourself like a tree, look them in the eye, and say, ‘No, you move’.”-Peggy Carter
Peggy and Hazel man. They would be a power duo, that’s all I’m saying. Hazel is probably the most resilient out of the 7, considering her age and the things she’s experienced. I also like this metaphor of being like a tree, since Gaea had the biggest grudge against Hazel, and Gaea is the earth goddess, so Hazel being a strong-rooted tree would be perfect.
Lester: “I know you were only doing what you believe in, and that’s all any of us can do, it’s all any of us should. So no matter what, I promise you-if you need us, if you need me, I’ll be there,”-Steve Rogers
Yes, I mostly chose this because of its similarity to the end of ToN, but there’s more to it. I think this quote does a good job of meaning any point in Lester’s journey. It could be about when he was originally turned into Lester and hated everything, or it could be about when he turned back into Apollo and understood what Jason meant. I just like the idea that he is there for his friends and family, finally grown into the person he was meant to be.

Red: Pt. 11
Masterlist here
Huge shoutout to @purefandomsalt for the amazing help with the article in this part.
When Jason awoke on the cold tile of the bathroom floor, he noticed two things. One: he was, for some reason, dressed in a ridiculously oversized dark green suit. It had to be bigger than Bruce’s even, Jason couldn’t deny it. And two, more alarmingly– he couldn’t remember the events of the entire night. Or the past week, for that matter. The noise from outside suggested that Bruce was hosting some sort of event though. Maybe Jason had snuck one too many drinks. Alfred would kill him if he found out about Jason’s underage drinking. No time to think about that now– bile was rising in Jason’s throat and he scarcely made it to the toilet before emptying his stomach.
As he cleaned himself up afterwards at the sink, he stopped to stare at himself in the mirror. He was aware of the massive suit (the sleeves which he had rolled up)  on his lanky frame. But it was his hair that made him pause. Yes, it was gelled back– if not a bit messily for this early into the night, but there was white. More specifically, a white streak in his hair that seemed so… stark. Was this someone’s idea of a prank? Because he was sure he didn’t remember dying it.
Okay, just move on, Jason thought as he washed his face. It’s just hair anyway. It doesn’t look too bad. He just needed to sneak upstairs and wait this whole party out. He wasn’t feeling so great anyway. He stole one last look in the mirror, hiking up the sleeves of his jacket again when his eyes flashed green. Jason scrambled backwards. What the hell? They looked almost metahuman-ish and he was fairly sure he was not one.
With the green flash came an itchiness in his brain. It wanted something– havoc, carnage. Jason didn’t want any part of it. He steadied himself on the sink. Breathe. That’s what Bruce always said.
The prickling eventually subsided, along with the green in his eyes. Jason breathed a sigh of relief. What on Earth was that? He opened the bathroom door cautiously and checked the hall for any nosy socialites. Once he was sure the coast was clear, he dashed upstairs to his room. He noted the new “injuries” the walls seemed to have sustained as he walked. Scratches and dents, ones that seemed too random to be from a single fight. What happened?
His room had changed too. The walls– which were previously a dark blue were now a muted grey. Most of his stuff– useless stuff that he had collected–were gone. Framed posters hung around the room and Jason was baffled that he didn’t recognize most of the names on them. Had his double life as both Robin and Jason Todd really affected his knowledge of pop culture that much?
He opened his closet to find another surprise. All the clothes were at least four sizes too big for him. Whoever set up this prank must have put in a damn lot of time. After rummaging around to at least find some of his own stuff, he stopped. Hidden in a drawer was a small handgun. He picked it up gingerly. It was loaded. His eyes widened when he inspected the barrel of the gun. J.T. His initials.
What would Bruce say? Where had this even come from? Jason placed the gun back into its hiding place, closing the drawer. He would focus on the problem at hand. Clothes. He needed clothes that actually would fit him.
Jason stepped out into the hallway to look for wherever his real stuff was. The prankster had probably put them in the spare room next to Jason’s– it would require the least amount of effort. Nobody really went into it anyway. He was just about to push open the door when he heard someone inside. “Hello?” Jason asked, knocking lightly on the door. Upon hearing no response, he opened it.
No sooner had he cracked the door open when he was slammed against the wall. A girl, about his age, held a blade to his throat. She looked like she had ditched the party downstairs as well, apparently having traded in the dark green dress currently lying on the bed for a pair of sweats. Her red hair had been meticulously styled at some point, but had since been pushed back and out of her face.
“Where am I?”she asked.
“Wayne Manor, you probably came here for the party,” Jason replied, if not as smoothly as he would have liked.
“Wayne Manor…” she muttered, thinking. “Who are you?”
“Jason. Uh, Jason Todd, Bruce Wayne’s ward…”
She thought for a moment before letting him go. Jason inwardly breathed a sigh of relief. “Why are you wearing an ill-fitting suit, Jason?”
“Honestly, I don’t know,” he said, rubbing his neck. ”I woke up about half an hour ago in this thing.”
Her eyes widened. “Do you remember any recent events, of how you got to this party?”
“No… wait, you don’t either?”
She shook her head. “Last I remember, I was on the other side of the Atlantic. I certainly don’t remember coming to this party to have a matching outfit with you.”
Jason eyed the dress on the bed. There was no doubt that both his suit and the dress were intended to be a pair. How he’d managed to get this girl to coordinate with him, he had no idea. He didn’t even know her name. “What’s your name?”
“You may call me Artemis. But that is unimportant. We need to figure out what is going on here,” she said, marching into the hallway.
“Wait wait wait,” Jason hissed, grabbing her shoulder.
“Touch me again, Little one, and you will cease to have arms.”
He threw his hands up in surrender. “Okay, okay. Just– We can’t go downstairs. The press will have a field day if they find out anything is going on at Wayne Manor.”
Artemis stopped. “Fine. What do you propose we do?”
“First, let me find some clothes that actually fit me, and then we call Alfred. He’ll know what to do.”
The pair wandered through the rooms, most of which Jason didn’t even know were being lived in. Some of them had pictures of people who either seemed to age five years on camera or people he didn’t even recognize. Hell, he found some of someone who looked suspiciously like an older version of him, except way taller and more built. Something was definitely up.
Jason finally found a t-shirt and sweatpants his size in a room that was probably meant for a vampire. All precautions had been taken to block out the windows. And it seemed like a very paranoid vampire, at that. The amount of red string in the room was appalling. “This is an odd bedroom,” Artemis remarked.
“Yeah, don’t remember it. Like at all.”
They went back to Jason’s room to try and think through the situation. About five minutes into comparing notes, Jason’s phone buzzed. Funny, he didn’t recognize this model. There was a text from Dick.
‘Hey, u ok?’
‘The food wasn’t that bad, was it?’
‘Dude, where r u?’
‘It’s been an hour’
‘D U D E’
Jason quickly replied.
‘Come upstairs’
‘My room’
‘We have a situation’
No sooner than two minutes had passed when Dick arrived. “Hey, Jason what’s–” Dick stopped at the doorway dead in his tracks.
“What?”
“Jason?” he asked, dumbfounded.
“Yes, that’s my name Dick. Stop messing around and help us.”
“You’re a kid…”
“Your brother is quite slow,” Artemis remarked, twirling the knife in her hands.
“I’m almost sixteen, dammit. Snap out of it and help, will you?”
“Jason… you’re supposed to be twenty.” He ran his hands through his hair, still not fully understanding the scene.
“Then why don’t we remember anything of the past five years?” Jason asked, voice rising with every word.
“A spell, perhaps. One that sent us back to our adolescent selves,” mused Artemis.
“Who would do that?”
Dick thought for a minute. “Jason, did you get into trouble with anyone? Did you have any information that they don’t want you to know?”
“Well how am I supposed to know, Dick?” Jason burst out, throwing his hands into his lap. “Why don’t you ask my older self? I’m sure he has loads to tell you.”
“Okay, okay,  calm down. We’ll figure this out, Jay. Just– agh,” Dick grunted, pacing the room like a madman. “Just stay here for now. We need to figure out how this happened.”
“Whoever did this is probably long gone. Unless Jason and I possessed something of importance, I can see no reason for anyone to do this other than amusement.” Artemis narrowed her eyes. “ And if it was for mere mockery, I will–”
Dick laughed nervously. “Yeah, we get it Artemis. You’re mad. We’ll figure this out guys.”
“Yeah? Then at least explain this.” He pointed to the white streak in his hair. “Or would you rather explain these,” Jason glowered, allowing the flood of green carnage to fill his eyes. “Or how about the damn gun in the closet, Golden Boy?”
“Look, Jason, when you got older, your… relationship with us wasn’t… the best. We barely saw you… and I can’t tell you what happened because of that.” He scratched the back of his neck. “Just stay here for now. I’ll get some help,” Dick ordered before stepping back out into the hallway.
“He’s lying to you,” Artemis said plainly.
“I know.” Jason pinched the bridge of his nose, trying to reign the green back under control. “He’s bad at it. I just wanna know who I became, you know?”
“Likewise. I will be in my room. Knock if you need me.”
With Artemis leaving him alone, Jason slumped onto the bed. His bed. The room didn’t feel like his anymore. Then again, he wasn’t even sure who he was. Maybe he just needed to deal with all of this in the morning. Maybe he would be able to remember things better when his brain wasn’t as fried as it was right now. Maybe if he just closed his eyes...
He was met with laughter. He recognized it, but this time it only seemed more maniacal. The Clown Prince of Crime couldn’t let him be even in his resting moments. All he could see was red. Blood pooling on the floor around him, the red numbers of a clock counting down, the tatters of his uniform giving way to mutilated flesh. He gasped, for air, for life, both of which he felt was being forced out of him. And then it was forced back in. He didn’t want it. The acrid, stinging, burning life. He felt alive, and it hurt. He was drowning in it, sinking, sinking, sinking uselessly clawing upward at a heaven that rejected him. The crazed laugh mocked his misery, simply cackling until Jason could take it no more.
Jason awoke with a start. He was drenched in sweat and his hands shook so badly that he had to steady them on the blanket. The damn knock on his door didn’t help matters. “Give me a sec!” he called, in as steady of a voice as he could. The clock read early into the next morning. So he’d slept through the end of the gala then. That was a relief. He dried his face and composed himself before finally letting the guest in.
Artemis stood at the door with a laptop in hand. “I have found some information you may want to read,” she said, walking towards his desk.
He managed a dry laugh. “I thought you hated me. Why’d you come find me?”
“I thought through some things, and I’ve come to the conclusion that I wouldn’t have trusted you without reason. Now stop whining and come here.” The Amazon slid the computer onto the table and motioned for Jason to sit down. “This is from last night. It’s from the Gotham Enquirer.”
His curiosity got the better of him and Jason did as he was told. Under the title was  a picture of his older self, a face he recognized only from pictures around the manor. He was standing with Artemis with an arm slung around her shoulder. He took a breath and started to skim through the article.
One Less Wayne Bachelor?
By Maylen. K. Bird
Gotham’s most awaited party has finally arrived, and it’s creating a buzz on the internet. With it’s large palace-like venue along with its impressive guests, (A-listers celebrities and high class rich folk– the entirety of the Wayne family included) it’s easy to see why. The Wayne charity gala was a stunning success for all parties involved- raising well over their aim for the night, donations exceeding half a trillion. The funds will be directed around the city to support soup kitchens, shelters and orphanages.
However, what has the public scrambling is the unknown face brought to the gala by the elder Wayne boy. Jason Wayne, not usually known for even attending public events, brought a mystery woman to the party last night, one confirmed to be an Amazon. Quite the partner to say the least.
Dubbed as the “lovable murderous recluse” by the youngest Wayne , it was quite a shock to both guests and reporters alike. If the piece of eye candy wasn’t enough, his plus one has us all drooling. Gothamites longing for his attention are certainly crestfallen, as finding an equal to his partner is no easy feat. The fiery-haired beauty wore a stunning outfit: A viridian halter-dress (which was worn too elegantly to be natural) matching Jason Wayne, which in itself was evidence enough of their closeness.
The two spent the entire night together, virtually ignoring the rest of the guests. Like a true gentleman, he invited his date to dance with a romantic flair. We didn’t expect anything less from a Wayne. Upon being asked about his relationship with the Amazon, the Wayne gave us this polished statement: “She prefers a more private life if you please. If you must have something, however, we met through work.”
It is already well-known that Jason Wayne has invested much time and resources into countless charity projects. On working with Wayne,  the Amazon gave us this gem: “Jason truly wishes to help people at his core, and I only hope I am able to aid him in that. Through our work we have become very close, and I trust him with my life.”
Albeit both very scripted responses, we managed to gather a more candid testimony from Jason’s  brother. Dick Grayson told us that the couple’s relationship has been recent news. “Jason’s never said anything about this before. He tends to be a private person, so consider yourselves lucky to even witness this. I’ve honestly never seen my little brother so happy.” Grayson goes on further, sharing a juicy timbit of information saying; “ They actually told us they were attending the gala a few days ago, we had no idea they were a thing, but Jason actually coming all dressed up for an event like this was shocking enough to stop me from connecting the dots. I’ll say it right here– I’m just waiting for the wedding ring.”
So could this be it? The Waynes' may be receiving a new family member, and to our surprise it's the wedding that nobody expected.
Stay tuned as we try to get details on the potential wedding and this budding romance.
Jason whistled through his teeth, his eyes widening in surprise.. “What the hell did I just read?”
“I cannot be sure how much of this article is true or how reliable our own words are.” Artemis leaned onto the back of Jason’s chair. “But what I can take from this is that we were certainly close. In what sense, we must find out.”
Jason nodded exhaling. “Do you have any more information about me?”
Artemis brought up a new file, something obviously stolen from Bruce’s records. “I assume we really worked together through this. The Outlaws, as we are known.”
He huffed. What mess was he throwing himself into now? Nevertheless, he dove into the file.
He had been one of the founding members of a team called the Outlaws. He was no longer Robin. The record didn’t say how or why he’d shed the mantle, but it said who he’d become. The Red Hood. Former Robin. Former crime boss. Current vigilante. One willing to cross lines.
His team– the Outlaws– were all willing to cross lines. To spite their mentors, maybe. The lineup consisted of dishonoured proteges: A disgraced Arrow. A fallen princess. A failed Superman. A would-be-Wonder Woman. And him. A former Robin turned monster. What had he become?
Jason rubbed his face. He was honestly scared to keep reading, on account of what he might find. He wasn’t let down. The kill count made his breath hitch. He had a kill count. The Red Hood was confirmed to have taken close to one hundred lives. One hundred. He had taken one hundred lives. Maybe more.
Part of him wanted for someone- anyone to tell him that it wasn’t true. That it was all a very elaborate joke. The other part of him knew it wasn’t going to happen. Just like how he knew deep down that his mom was really gone. And how he knew that she wasn't coming back no matter how much he begged her to.
Artemis sat on his bed, tight-lipped and serious. Jason was sure, at least from her files, that she had only redeemed herself from the self that she remembered now. The opposite was true for him. “Are you alright, Jason?”
He wiped his eyes as discreetly as he could. “I don’t know. I don’t want to– just… I don’t even know what to make of this.”
“Sometimes death is necessary, you know.”
“Yeah, coming from a mercenary turned vigilante. Or however the hell you see it.” His words dripped with venom and green began to edge his vision. Jason sighed, regretting his words. Artemis was going through the same thing as he was. He left the laptop on the desk and joined Artemis on the bed.
“Sorry, just so much going on.”
She put a hand on his shoulder. “We go through this together, okay?”
He gave her a small smile. “Yeah. Okay.”

Analysis Paralysis (2018) - Fell in love while having anxiety disorder...
Tumblr media
With only less than ten characters, two (or maybe even one) locations, the small but very excited in messy way love world of Taylor would entertain you from the very beginning to the end. Analysis Paralysis – the gay indie movie with strange name – is a perfect example of how a gay theme movie can avoid all the cliché, stereotype lifestyle, at the same time, can fell into exactly the viewers’ desire to watch a normal (ok, not really normal) gay man in his own journey to find true love.
There are so many good things about Analysis Paralysis (AP), that is directed and written by Jason T. Gaffney. He also plays the main character Taylor – a young gay author who has suffered an anxiety disorder called “analysis paralysis”. Through the movie, we will join his own battle inside his mind where his anxiety leads him to various situations with all the imaginary outcome from everything happen to his love life with Shane (Kevin Held) – a cute guy lives nearby.
Tumblr media
From the moment eyes meet eyes, face to face, pick up line to the first kiss, making out, having sex, to name a few, the movie is a true comedy gold with a lot of hilarious moments. Especially when we see poor Taylor fights back his anxiety with lots of “what if” in funny, cute and horrible, awkward outcomes. AP is a very rare rom-com gay movie that finds a perfect way to balance between comedy and romance. We laugh with Taylor’s anxiety, but also adore the way his mind functions. AP explores the story of a man (who is gay is just a fact, not an issue) with disorder finds his own way to be loved, and find love. Taylor and Shane shares a lot of cute, adorable moments together. The fact that Jason throws some hot steamy sex scenes here and there does not make the movie looks “cheap” or “gay baited”, but it does makes the whole movie completed and more attractive.
Although AP is an indie movie with the limitation of budget, Jason and his team easily defeat all the obstacle. It is true that AP only has couple characters, same location and same scenes repeat over and over again. Small budget movie like this easily would be rather cheap, tacky, unrealistic or even boring. However, everything happens or used in the movie serve their own purpose, from the way same scenes start over and over again that describe vividly how Taylor’s anxiety is taking over, to every details of the props (real books, the change from Taylor’s room decorations, etc)...
Tumblr media
The chemistry between two actors Jason and Kevin is also a big help to make AP more interesting and funny to watch. I personally have no problem with straight actors take gay role, but the fact both Jason and Kevin are out actors is something extra special that make the story, the characters become more sparkling – cute – adorable – likeable – lovely. I even had to google to find out if Jason does have such disorder in real life or not, just because his performance as a goofy young guy is so on point. Besides, Kevin with extra overacting in all imaginary sequences are very entertaining.
I must say AP is a surprisingly decent indie films among all “not that good” gay indie movies out there. There is hard to find anything bad or negative to say about this cute movie that put a big smile to my face until the end. AP promises a lot of good laugh, vividly sex scenes, romantic moment among others. Because it is a rom-com movie, you also do not have to worry about all the melodrama or tragedy with shitty ending. I promise, AP will make you believe in love with a lot of anxiety.

Let's get it started.
- CHICAGO MED:
Sexcel. Marcel is a prick but I still kinda love him..? I don't know, it's not my fault, leave me alone. For real though, I really like him as a doctor, he seems like he really knows what he's doing, and as a human being... nobody's perfect, right? LOL I don't even think he should be considered the cause of Chexton drama to be honest: maybe trying to get in April's pants wasn't the right move, but he's not the one in a relationship. There's only one person to blame.
Chexton. Ethan really did put a ring on it, uh?! And she said yes, too. Wow, I admire the audacity! Do I think the marriage is gonna occur? The fuck not, he is somehow gonna find out about the Sexcel kiss and call the engagement off. Happy endings? We don't know 'em.
April. Wow, she's really decided to not tell Ethan about the kiss with Crockett! Gross. As I said before, I hate liars... I could've understand if the kiss was like - little crossover - Renée and Kelly's at the end of season 5 (was it season 5? I'm dumb lol), but it seems like it was a big deal for April. She herself said, correct me if I'm wrong, that things could've quickly gotten out of control. Like, excuse me?!
Will and Nat. So are they still gonna let them fight and annoy the hell out of me? Is this a fucking curse or something? Oh my god. This time I'm not on anybody's side, the fight was dumb (not the topic itself, but the way the whole thing was managed) and could've easily been avoided: Will needed to do a more thorough check on that junkie mama and Natalie should've told him she was gonna contact CPS whether he liked it or not. You see how simple it is? Fuck, I hate them so much. (Nick/Will looked really good with that shirt in his last scene - his shoulders are very sexy).
Elsa. She's a baby, I wanna protect her. And she smiled, she so cute. And she's gay af - quick reminder, in case you think that shipping her with Will can even remotely be a good idea (jk, y'all know me, you do you).
Daniel. The scene of him singing for his CeCe at Molly's was truly heartbreaking to see. By the way, Oliver has a nice voice, our cast is multitalented! Dr. Charles has a history with depression, though, so I hope he's gonna take care of himself, a thing he seems determined to do, maybe with the help of Sharon - and Elsa too, they're starting to bond.
Maggie and Ben. They're cute, yeah, Ben is in remission and I'm happy for him. But I honestly don't really care about them as a couple to be honest... There's nothing wrong with them, I'm just not interested. Stop.
Quick question: can they change Dr. Marcel's name, please? I mean, when she confessed the whole thing to Maggie, April's voice was trembling, her eyes were watery, but I couldn't help but laugh at her: "I kissed Crockett" LMFAO, you kissed who?! Like, c'mon, what kind of garbage name is that? Gross. *almost throws up*
- CHICAGO FIRE:
Seager. She was ridiculously embarrassing. At first I thought she was gonna accept the fact that Severide is already taken (even though he didn't tell her explicitly from the beginning, so it's partly his fault too, kinda), but when she asked him out after seeing him and Stella clearly acting as a couple, I lost my cool. Bye, Felicia. I'm so glad Kelly told her he's not interested and, y'all, did you see how he looked at Stella and could tell the situation was making her uncomfortable? Wow, couple goals. I'm waiting for a proposal by the end of the season.
Pickles? Foster... I like her, I hate her, I don't know. She's too moody. The fight with Brett was honestly very childish and uncalled for and I'm glad Sylvie stood up for herself and put Emily in her place. Plus, she did it in such a well-mannered and polite way... she's a princess, what can I say. Stella speech about girls sticking up for each other... Yes! Just yes.
Blake. I'm not gonna censor myself: he likes pussy..? Yikes. You guys know I was already starting to ship him with Ritter, but the writers had to ruin it for me. It's ok, I guess. For the moment I'm not really interested in his relationship with that girl (maybe I'm still bitter LMFAO), even though she seems really cool.
Ritter. When are we gonna see his boyfriend?! Damn, those writers! Blake joined 51 just the other day and we already know every little thing about him, I ask to see just a bit of LGBTQ+ content and they act like they're dumb..? How about you show it properly instead of just mentioning it and act like your job is done, mh? I'm ready to fight, I don't care.
Whose tool? : Our tool = What team? : Wildcats! — SAME ENERGY.
Iconic lines: "I'm gay, I'm not blind" + "I know it's hard to imagine with your emails and Facebook and Myspace...," – Mouch, Myspace? In 2020? Ok Boomer (I had to, I'm not sorry)
- CHICAGO PD:
Well well. We've been robbed. We're not clowns, we're the whole circus. The episode wasn't bad at all, I liked it, but still, what the fuck was that?! We've been waiting for more than a month to see some really angsty, whumpy stuff, the episode was supposed to be Jay centered and what did we get? A lame murder case that somehow became interesting only when Kevin and his brother got involved.
Don't get me wrong, I'm glad my baby Kev gets to get more screentime (it was about time!), but why giving him now and not the next episode? What's the logic in this?
The beginning wasn't even bad, the premises were good. It was all very serious and solemn and all that good stuff we like and then, boom!, they said fuck that, fuck Jay Halstead, fuck you clowns who thought we were gonna treat him with the respect he deserves. Man was literally about to die and then suddenly he's fine, he talks (Jesse was making the voice he uses to imitate Jason, I heard that!), he even jokes around... Like, make it make sense. I'm frustrated. I wanna say a whole lotta other things, but yeah, I hope you get my point.
The Upstead content was kind of a payoff but yeah, still better than nothing. And about that... that fucking phone, really? Hailey was about to confess her feelings, or at least say something really serious to Jay, but of course they were interrupted. As I said, we're clowns. And Jay was ready: my man was so ready to get out of the friendozone, I saw that smirk that slowly faded into a disappointed look. We'll get there, Jay, I probably want it more than you do LOL
Vanessa's gonna be the godmother of Upstesd children. She ships them so much, cutie. "It's hard because you love him" - "Of course I love him, he's my partner" Hailey, sis, stfu and stop lying.
Burzek. They're having a baby, I'm so happy, I'm gonna cry. The little Alvin Ruzek (Kev is gonna be their godfather, I don't make the rules) is gonna be the Intelligence unit mascotte. I'm so ready. Yo, we're having this baby, right? No funny business here, they already broke our hearts with Dawsey twice. Also, did you notice how Adam screamed Kim's name when he thought the million bullets might've hit her and the baby. OMG gheyret having a baby. Whew, I'm not crying, you are!
I admit I wasn't following the storyline at all, like I literally can't tell what was going on before Jordan, Kev's brother, got involved. I wanna see where they're going with this plot: it can potentially be a cool one, I'd actually like too see some drama around Kevin's character - and maybe him being supported by Vanessa, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. I don't know, they either develop it properly or they better end it with 7.11
Y'all, the dude Darius was supposed to set up, the one who got killed by Jordan's girlfriend, is identical to Chris Brown, minus the ears. It's scary.

╲╱❀╲╱╲╱❀╲╱╲╱❀╲╱
“what happened?!”
he ran into the room finding the girl on the floor in swallowing the pain with a guilty smile.
“let’s just say i sprained my ankle” she softly said already opening her arms to let her be carried by him “and i may or may not have been trying to do one of your fighting moves...”
jason laughed and nodded in denial, trying his best to keep a straight face due his concern. he swore to god, when he heard her yelling for help his heart miss a couple of beats, and he felt his whole body temperature dropping.
“why were you trying to fight tho?” he looked down to her face, relieved the situation wasn’t as bad as he thought.
she sketched an answer but before she say anything he wrapped his arms around her legs and back picking her up off the ground. she tightly held her arms around his neck playfully tucking his hair. even though her ankle was pupping in pain, she felt safe and able to not be embarrassed about the tiny and shy tears running through her cheeks.
he laid her down on the bed gently, being cautious with her sprained ankle.
“this might hurt a little” he sat next to her legs and quickly straighten her foot. she twisted her face in agony but did not scream.
gosh, she’s so strong! he thought lost in his mind while locked his gaze in her cute face trying to mask the pain.
“it’s okay if it hurts, doll” he comforted her cupping her face wiping a few tears away “we’re not made out of iron”
she sighed, showing frustration and pain. but she was not bursting into tears.
“it’s just that i–”
she tried to speak but tears stumbled her words way. sobs because her language for a moment.
“hold on a sec, i’ll grab some ice” he rushed away towards the freezer, but also, away from seeing her in sorrowful mood. It smashes his hearts in smithereens having her that way. jason felt the obligation to make her feel better.
when he drew the ice close to her ankle she groaned by the temperature shock and instinctively grabbed his forearm.
“better?” he threw a smile at her and she mirrored the gesture kindly brushing her hand through his arm.
“yes” she sighed in relief  “thank you jaybird, i just… i wish i could do something in return… that’s why i was trying to do one of your moves”
she shyly snorted finding funny how naive her idea sounded and she rolled her eyes felling stupid.
“i mean, you do so much for me, and you spend the night risking your life while i’m at home… for an instant i thought i’d be a good idea, me and you fighting side by side” she mimicked punches in the air.
jason’s heart melted inside his chest and his face was switched in multiples emotions. first, he found himself admired by her genuine wish to help people and wanted to be around him more; secondly, he felt guilty. he did not desire any concerns from her about his job nor wanted her to put herself in that position that’s also way he felt, thirdly, worried. the red hood lifestyle already put too many risks in his life, the thought of having her into that place caused shivers down his spine. losing her is not even in his darkest hypothesis on consequences of being a vigilante.
“hey” he cupped her cheeks “the fact that you are here already makes you my hero”
“no shit” she answered lightly slapping his arm and laughing away bashful tears “i’m serious jason, i want to help!”
“i’m shit serious too” he nodded affirming that he meant every sentence said “i mean, who else would save me from my neediness? or else, who’d help me find my spare pants? you know how i get home tired as fuck and literally strip down all my clothes, close my eyes and faint!”
he made himself comfortable laying down next to her putting his arm around her shoulders pulling her close to his chest, she loves when he did that. his heart is where her head should always be.
“now you’re just being cheesy” she mocked interlacing her legs in his body carefully to not move the ice away from her hurt ankle.
“i could be cheesier if you want to” jason smirked setting his gaze in her cuddly gluing her face into his chest “but really, i meant it ok? red hood it’s a part of me that… honestly? i dig love it. but also, it brings a part of me that i’m not very proud of. and i love the light you brought to me, you have no idea of how much i love having you around… thinking of putting that– putting your life in danger, man… scares the shit out of me. losing something i love, you know?”
“what did you just said?” she tilted her face to meet his.
“umm- that i couldn’t stand the thought of losing you?” his eyes quickly swept the room.
“cute, i love you too you dork” she closed the gap between them with a cheeky kiss.

25. Part 3
Tumblr media
My dad is so good with Reign, I come home and see him asleep with her in his arms “look at him, he is so hard at work. I was so shocked when he took time off though. Guess what though? You remember Jason right?” turning to my mom “I do yes” how can I forget him, he says I will be his when he is older “when you was at hospital, he came to the home. We didn’t show him Reign or anything but he came, he bought you flowers and said he is sorry to hear about Maurice. He bought chocolates and it’s from all of the kids at the centre, how sweet” I cooed out “that is so sweet, I didn’t think they would have. I need to see them soon, did you bring in my medication? I don’t remember bringing them in” I don’t feel like going back to the car at all “I got them here, I went to the bathroom” Leon held it out to me “thank you” taking it from him “I need to get out of these jeans, I am going to wear sweatpants. The pain is kicking in again” Leon grabbed my arm “you didn’t mention one word about Maurice, he’s awake? And?” I have been pretty quiet about it, there is nothing much to say “erm, well. He is ok, he is upset someone touched his dick because he is peeing in a bag, so yes. Maurice is back” walking off to go upstairs “she is not happy” my mother said as I made my way up the steps, she is not wrong. I am just very stressed, I feel like Maurice just gave me nothing. I am giving him space, I hope that this space gives him time to think. I think he may be ignoring what happened or he was scared, he shouldn’t ever be scared to show his true self to me. I want to see that, I want to see his weak side but he refuses so there is that. He will cause an argument between us, I don’t want that either but I am happy he is awake.
Hearing my daughter crying downstairs, she is finding her voice alright, that cry is deafening to hear. Something must have triggered her, walking into the living room “who upset her?” I asked, peaking over “she is not happy about a diaper change” she is so dramatic “she is such a diva, like girl. Why you crying getting your butt cleaned” she is something else “who does that remind you of?” I said to Leon “you, all over. You be moody as shit for no reason at times” walking around my mom, she is really not happy about a diaper change, even spat her pacifier out for it “not having this nonsense, you can take her” gently taking off the headband “you upset my mother Reign, what is wrong with you?” picking Reign off of the couch “is it the dress, is it irritating you?” placing Reign against my chest “it’s ok mommy is here now, is it Leon. His vibes are tainted, I get it” pressing a kiss to the top of her head “a mother’ touch, look at her” my mom got up from the couch, my daughter’ soft whines “sure mom, my daughter is trying to tell you leave her alone, she don’t want her diaper changed” I am so in love with my daughter “she better get over that, you ain’t always going to be around when you go to work” let’s not think of that right now.
Leon went because he has work later and my dad has gone out with his friends, it’s my daughter and my mother “she fed weird, like I feed her and she falls asleep. Take her off the nipple place her down and then she cries” my mom sat down with a cup in her hand “she is getting used to the face she gets picked up a lot but I do think it’s unsettling for her to be at home and then here, maybe she is feeling insecure. It does make me so happy to see you bonding with her so much, Reign adores you so much too” Reign decided she wants to be awake so she can stare into my eyes “hello Reign, I don’t like this. People are saying you’re a diva, you not diva are you? I mean I am expecting you to be sassy because of me of course. You’re going to be so beautiful, you’re so lucky too” my heart is melting “god, mom” looking up from Reign “I really created this, she was really made by me. She is making me emotional. She keeps staring at me in awe” my mom smiled at me “she wants to stare at your face, she knows you by smell. I read that, when I would read books when you was born. This is why she calms down, I am so happy you had a daughter first. Once I had you I was like I am set! I am done” I chuckled “really? It’s weird that you never had another, but you just wanted a girl?” my mom nodded “your father wasn’t bothered but he would treat you like a boy, I don’t think you remember this but you was three I would say. I said Thomas, please don’t kick the ball around you. Your dad is competitive, I knew it would happen. He kicked the ball right in your face, he would play wrestling with you” I laughed out “I do remember that, you was always like Thomas! She is a girl, stop it” waving my mom off with my free hand “you funny mom, but I do think you both should have has another. It’s never late but it would be weird” my mom snorted laughing “no, it’s ok now. I have a grandchild now” my mother seems so maternal so I am shocked.
Reign fell asleep again, in my arms of course but she loves it like this “so, the family are dying to see you. Yes they have heard and yes they all want to know more. I can’t hold them back for long, they want to see Reign and you, now they know what happened but not the truth” rolling my eyes “I seem like a terrible person don’t I?” my mom shrugged “outside you do but we know, it hurts us as a family to see this Robyn. We are not like that at all, your dad was angry once again. Is Maurice going to clear my daughter’ name?” looking down as I shrugged “I don’t know mom, honestly. I just don’t know the man on that bed” I mumbled “how so? You seem so quiet with the whole, he is a awake situation. Why?” chewing my bottom lips, I’ve not really wanted to speak to anyone about him because I am trying to think why he is like this “he doesn’t seem to care, like the care is not there and I don’t understand why. Everything he was saying and doing, he just seems to pass caring. I told him about his dad and there, the emotion kicked in. I said about Reign, he just doesn’t seem to care and it’s hurt me a lot” now I am thinking what if Maurice and I don’t make it, what if this breaks us because I won’t take his shit “he wanted to see Reign but I was like no, what is the point, he doesn’t care” which is true “sometimes we neglect the ones we will hurt the most, what I mean by this. Maurice deep down knows, it’s easy to look like the joker then show emotion. You take Reign and you see him, she deserves to see him. Maurice hasn’t seen her in a while, even then he couldn’t hold her. He’s a scared little boy, I am saying that because that’s what they do, you go to the hospital and let him see her, I am sure you will get some emotion out of him. It’s different for men, they have to create the bond, just don’t take it to heart, don’t judge it now. Give him time, when a person is dying it can change them, and they always know they are dying, he is lying to you and he is just shrugging it off” why is my mother so wise.
My little princess is all wrapped up in the car seat, I put her hairband back on “she looks like a little angel asleep, would you like me to come with you?” My dad offered, shaking my head “no, it’s ok. It’s a little late already so I just want to go with Jay so then I can come back, I won’t be long. Is it because you’re going to miss her already?” my dad shrugged it off smiling “awww dad, look at you. You’re so cute, she will be back screaming the place down. Don’t worry about it” it’s a little late but my mom is right, I shouldn’t hold back Reign from him because he does want to see her and he did ask “and you, Jay. Take care of my baby, don’t let no vultures speak to her ok?” Jay chuckled “yes sir, I will be sure to do that. Shall I get the car seat?” Jay said “please, also take the baby bag. It’s heavy for me” holding the bag for him, Jay leaned to the side for me to place it on his shoulder “just crouch down a little please” he is so big “you got it?” placing the bag on his shoulder “there you go, that is us. I’ll be back, stop worrying dad, once again you’re worrying about me” my mom smiled at me “you must not be used to a man with muscles” I gasped “mother, that is rude. I am telling Maurice on you, you trying to say he is too skinny” my mother made that sly remark there “I am just saying and don’t you dare” my mother is funny.
I can’t wait to have Maurice back though, the man I fell for. I hope to god this hasn’t changed him for the worst, I will be watching him closely with everything, how he is, how he reacts with me but I hope he is not out of bed or if anyone is there, I haven’t said that I am coming “ain’t nobody say about you parking in the staff bay?” Jay said as he parked the Rolls Royce “no, not yet anyways but it’s better. Nobody got the time to be walking so far” Reign is still asleep, my daughter is so perfect. Even if, I am saying if. Like if things don’t go well for Maurice and I, least I can say I have Reign. Imagine if things turn out evil, his family will come for me for Reign but I will protect her until the very last breath “so, Robyn” Jay turned in the drivers seat “bit of bad news, you have like a blanket to put over the car seat?” nodding my head confused “why?” I questioned “paparazzi are outside, even more now that Marquis is not well. I don’t know who is telling things, but we can get you in there. Just stay close to me” shit like this makes me upset, I get stressed and I don’t like it “why? Nothing is interesting, nothing is happening. Who would say things about me?” I am getting overly emotional “haters come from every end Robyn, you can’t trust anyone. Don’t worry about it please, we will be ok” I will attack anyone that goes near my daughter.
Taking in a deep breath walking just behind jay even though he told me to walk ahead but I want to make sure nobody goes near my baby, she is the most important part of me and I don’t want her exposed to the world, I may have been exposed but I still do have a chance to save my daughter from being just that “stay back please, she is not answering any questions” Jay said, using his arm to move back the three paparazzi camping out here “is this Maurice Davenport child that is out of wedlock? Robyn do you not have anything to say about his wife being here?” putting my head down, I just want to get inside “was the contract your idea? Robyn, how does it feel to not be his wife and just the woman only fertile enough to have his heir” I breathed out as soon as I got inside the building, they are so rude. They wanted a reaction out of me and I was not about to give it “you good?” Jay asked, nodding my head knowing deep down I just want to cry about it all.
If Naomi is in this room I will probably cuss her out, she shouldn’t even be here. I will probably take my ass home, I ain’t about to be the side piece in this. Touching my engagement ring with my free hand “sometimes I do think if this is the life I want, is it something I want to deal with constantly” to be bullied by the blogs “I am sure Maurice would sort it out, I can imagine he will. He is the same nigga that got his wedding picture taken off the internet and any sign of marriage so I do believe he can sort this out” the elevator doors opened, these wards at night are just creepy because there is nothing much going on, everyone is in their rooms. Walking ahead of Jay, I was quick to look into the window of Maurice’ room and I was so ready to just cuss Noami out but it’s empty, just Maurice asleep, I breathed out. He is asleep though, I will just sit with him for a while. Pushing the door open “thank you Jay, just place her on the seat there” least he is actually asleep and not just awake causing havoc, placing my bag on the floor “I will be around, just text me” smiling at Jay as he walked out, let me close these blinds. I am not here for the open blind thing, anyone can just take a picture of him or know he is here.
I am deciding against waking him up, if he is asleep then he is asleep. I will just sit around for a while “all dressed up and no daddy baby” Holding Reign up to me, pressing kisses to her cheek “I know baby, you want to be in your one piece” my daughter is just too damn cute, I can’t stop kissing her “I am sorry baby girl, I can’t stop kissing but I do have your one piece in the bag and I could put it on you” a light knock at the door “hello” the door opened but it’s just a nurse “hi, I am just here to check on Maurice” placing Reign over my shoulder “sure, that is fine” maybe I should have had Jay outside the door, getting up from the chair. Walking off to the bag, I think it is feeding time for her and I have got a bottle in this bag somewhere “it’s just me Maurice, sorry for waking you. I need to check on your blood pressure” turning around, he seems jumpy “is that ok?” the nurse said to him “yeah” he said still looking in a daze, he rested his head back “I just felt someone touch me, I got scared. It’s cool” like I said he seems very jumpy “you have a visitor here, well visitors” the nurse said to him “where? I don’t feel like having any, I did say for nobody to come” the lady pointed at me, Maurice looked to where she is pointing “unless you’re Robyn” he corrected himself “you bought her?” Maurice said a little shocked.
The nurse closed the door “I didn’t think you would have come back or bring Reign so I just kicked everyone and went to sleep” least he is sleeping and not trying to work “I wasn’t, but then you did ask for her, life is too short to just play stupid games. Hopefully you realise what you could lose for your stupidity, hopefully you show some sort of care towards your daughter” because he clearly didn’t care about me “no, Robyn. It’s not like that, it’s just a lot” walking over to his bed “she is a little cranky, I was going to get her bottle. You want to hold her?” I asked “can I?” his eyes lit up “you can of course” placing my hand behind Reign’ head “I thought she was going to be all dressed up with nobody to see” placing Reign in Maurice’ arm, I cheesed down at Reign scrunching her face up “you get to show off your dress baby” fixing her dress “it’s daddy baby, come on grumpy” her little fist balled, even though her eyes are closed she is not amused “there you go, open those eyes for him. I am just going to get her bottle before she blows a fit” turning around, thank god for pumping because now I don’t need to get my boob out.
Shaking the milk bottle, grabbing the baby towel. Maurice can do the duty of feeding her, I can just sit and watch because I don’t really have anything else better to do. Turning around to check on them both, they seem very quiet. Reign isn’t fussing either so that is odd for her, seeing Chris just staring down at Reign. She is very much awake too, I am surprised she is not crying “Mi Hermosa, I am so sorry” Maurice’ voice broke, I stopped shaking the bottle watching intently “I let you down, I didn’t think of you and I know that. I am so sorry” slowly shuffling to the bed “it’s not too late, it never is. She don’t know anything” he is really crying tears “from birth I said I wouldn’t let her down and I did, it doesn’t matter if she doesn’t know. I know, I made that promise and I broke it. She has changed, I wouldn’t have seen you in this dress. I could have missed your first tooth, word, steps, daddy daughter dance, I am sorry” Maurice sobbed out, placing my hand on the back Maurice’ head “it’s okay” rubbing the back of his head.
Feeling my head falling forward but I was quick to open my eyes and realising where I am, I am so tired “she drank all of it” Maurice lifted the bottle “I still burp her even though she is asleep?” nodding my head “try and keep the towel under her chin, she will bring some of it up. She seems to drink a lot but bring a lot of it up” I am so damn tired “I think I will be going now though, after you have burped her. I am so tired, I just want to sleep. Also paparazzi are outside and Jay text me saying that have moved now” Maurice looked at my face dumbfounded “we can talk tomorrow but for now, can you just not speak to anyone. Just get better and come home. I will come back tomorrow” Maurice hasn’t been told anything then “I want to talk too, I have a feeling that there is a lot of hate around. Thank you bringing Reign to see me, it’s really slapped me back to reality. I will speak to you tomorrow?” grabbing the empty bottle from the side of Maurice, this Maurice I am seeing is the man I know because I feel that warmth “we will speak tomorrow” Reign is really going to sleep “she is happy and asleep now, but I don’t want you to worry about things. Just we need to really talk, was Naomi here?” Maurice shook his head “mhmmm ok” leaning down, pressing a kiss to his lips, I just want to love him.

2. What is Justice? (Finale, A Cry For Justice)
A Few Months Later, The Day of The People of New Jersey v. Frank Castle
****
“Funny seeing you and the rest of the gang here, Chuckles.”
“Jason. You’re looking well.”
A tense silence manifests itself between the factions of the leather clad couple of Jason Todd and Komand’r and the Titans dressed in their civilian attire.
“Sister.”
“Kori. I see Victor’s holorings still have their uses. But, tan’s a bad tone on you, sister dear.”
“Why you-“ Kori lunges at her sister but is held back by Victor.
“OK,” Said Cyborg, “this is more awkward than I thought it would be. I’m taking Kori into the court room, gonna find us some seats. Who’d a thought this trial would’ve attracted so much attention?”
He heaves the Tamaranean over his shoulder as he walks through the door. She’s spouting off her objections to her treatment in Tamaranean, as she pounds her fists Victor’s back.
“I’m gonna join Cy- I mean Vic. You guys look like you got some stuff to catch up on.” Said a fair skinned, blonde-haired, green-eyed Changeling. “See you guy in court!” He said as waived off the others, following Cyborg.
Raven shrugs her shoulders at the people remaining. “Wait for me Gar.” She intones, coming up the rear.
“Komi,” says Nightwing, “was that really necessary?”
Blackfire gives him a look of mock innocence, “What? I’m telling the truth.”
“Blackfire,” said Jason, “let me talk with Dick alone. Find us a spot will you, cutie?”
“Fine, Jay. I’ve got you.” She pecks him on the cheek, as she makes her way into the court room to find her and Jason some seats.
“You and Blackfire. A part of me may have saw that coming-“
“Grayson,” interrupts Jason. “Is Bruce here?”
“Yeah. Alfred’s here. Babs is here. Tim’s here. Even poor Harley is here. Everyone is here. Are you planning on saying hi to anyone?”
“I’ve said all needed to him or anyone a long time ago.”
At the implication of Jason’s words, Dick sighs and says, “He never would’ve done it. None of us would’ve. For what it’s worth, he’s sorry and he misses you. And despite our recent history, I miss you too. Your family-“
“Stow it, Dick. The fact that it took some cop to do what needs to be done tells me what kind of family I’ve got. Give my love to Babs. Enjoy the trial.” Said Jason, as started to make his way into the court room.
“Wait. Why did you bail out Frank Castle?” Asked Dick.
“Honestly? I wanted to meet the man ballsy enough to properly avenge his family.”
****
“All rise!” Commanded the bailiff as the judge made his way to the bench.
The older, bald, caucasian judge, clad in the dark robes sits and bangs his gavel getting the attention of the full court as everyone present takes their seat.
He creases his brow, as if he’s making eye contact with everyone in the court.
“I know we have a lot of people here today, but I’d like to remind everyone here today we are in a court of law this day. A man is being tried for his alleged crimes and recommend all out bursts be keep to a minimum. With that being said, let’s get started with our opening statements.” The judge motions to his left, “Prosecutor.”
The prosecutor stands upon being beckoned by the judge. He’s small slip of man dressed in a cheap beige suit with an even cheaper haircut. He smiles condescendingly at Frank, practically assured of a conviction as he begins his opening statement.
“What is justice? We in the DA’s office like to define it as set system of right and wrong. Of showing those who break laws there are set consequences for what you do. Today we are here to prosecute Frank Castle for the crime of murder of the Joker in the first degree. We will prove that he did so maliciously and with no regard for our system of justice. And I would like to remind the court that the people of New Jersey are seeking the maximum conviction of life without the possibility of parole.”
A hush goes over the court as the mousy prosecutor finished his opening statement.
The hush turns into murmur as they seemingly wait for something to happen.
The judge bangs his gavel once more to bring the hush back to the court room.
“Mr. Castle, I understand you’ve waived your right to attorney. As a result of that it’s up to you to state the basis of your defense or to counter point anything said by the prosecution in your opening statement.”
Being addressed, Castle rises from his seat and says gruffly, “I decline to make an opening statement, your honor.”
A murmur goes over those present in the court and the judge bangs his gavel again to gain control of the court.
The prosecutor’s sneer returns to his face.
The judge takes a moment to take in his appearance.
Castle’s dressed in a black suit coat with matching pants and tie, with a white shirt underneath the coat. The whole ensemble looks like it’s seen better days, as littered with wrinkles and is poorly creased. There’s a look in defeat his eyes and looks like her hasn’t shaved in a while.
He’s a man whose already been beaten, dressed for a funeral for the fight of his life, thinks the judge.
“Both of you, please approach.” Commands the judge, addressing Castle and the prosecutor.
“Mr. Castle,” said the judge in a low voice, “how prepared are you for your defense?”
“I just thought to show up, your honor. Everything else is formality at this point.” Responded Frank.
“Mr. Castle, I’m telling you this for your own good, but do you recognize without a proper defense you maybe damning yourself to a guilty verdict and consequently to whatever fresh hell I’d imagine a waits a police officer in Blackgate. Yes, Mr. Castle, recognize that my power as a judge won’t save a violent offender from a super max prison, first offense or not.”
“Whatever happens, I’m consigned to the worst of what may come to be.” Said Frank.
“Then why show up at all? Your absence today would’ve defaulted a guilty verdict.”
Frank shrugs his shoulders, “Then that would’ve cost the guy that bailed me out a half a million dollars. I couldn’t in good conscience let him lose that kind of money on my say so.”
The prosecutor attempts to contain his laughs, as the judge shoots him a look of annoyance at his outburst. “You will respect this courtroom, prosecutor.”
“I’m sorry, Your Honor,” he said as he tried to stow his laughs. “This going to be my easiest conviction yet.”
“Don’t count your chickens before they hatch, counselor.” Said Castle.
The prosecutor sneers and says, “Unless you know something I don’t, I expect a guilty verdict in less than a few hours, Castle.”
“Enough,” interjects the judge, “let’s get this case underway.” He said, dismissing them.
The judge bangs the gavel again to bring the noise of court down that came up as he was addressing the prosecution and the defense.
“Prosecution, your first witness.”
****
The prosecution had gone through about half a dozen or so witnesses of the police and EMTs that were on the scene of murder. Most testimonies were very brief and consistent outlining what happened that night a few months ago.
To no surprise to the judge and the prosecutor, Castle, acting as his own defense, had opted not to question one witness.
The prosecution had just dismissed the most recent witness, the officer who had been headbutted by The Joker.
No one even bothered to check if Castle had any questions for him, taking ques from earlier.
“The State of New Jersey would like to call Commissioner Gordon to the stand.” Said the prosecutor.
Gordon stands from his seat among the spectators. He makes his way to the stand, dressed in his signature tan overcoat, off white dress shirt with a black tie, light brown pants and black shoes.
He takes a seat on the stand and is sworn in as the prosecutor waits, sneer still on his face.
“May the witness state his name for the record,” said the prosecutor.
“James Gordon,” was the response.
“And what is your profession, Mr. Gordon?”
“I’m the commissioner of the Gotham City Police Department.”
“Do you recognize that man over there?” Said the prosecutor, pointing at Frank Castle.
“Yes, that’s officer-“ Gordon stops himself, running his hand through his white hair in frustration. “Frank Castle.”
“Do you know what Mr. Castle’s vocation was until recently?”
Gordon hesitates for a moment, glaring at the prosecutor, his mouth forming a grim line. “He was an officer under my command in the city’s police department.”
“Do you know what Mr. Castle is accused of?”
“Yes.”
“And can you state what Mr. Castle is he accused of, Commissioner?”
“Murder in the first degree. He’s accused of killing The Joker.”
“And you were there on the night in question, correct?”
“Yes, I was.”
“Well, from what you saw can you tell me what happened?”
“It happened pretty fast. I was speaking with Batman, then I heard one shot and a few officers fingered Castle as the shooter pretty quickly. Joker was already down with one in his chest before I could get eyes on the situation. Castle then fired 3 more shots into The Joker, another to his chest, one to his throat, and the last one to the head, before any officers could get to him. About 4 or 5 officers’ dog-piled him before he can shoot another round off, and that scuffle didn’t last long. He gave as soon as he was tackled.”
“So, you saw him kill the victim?” Asked the prosecutor.
“Yes.”
“Was Frank Castle within his right to execute the victim the way he did? Within his duty as sworn officer of the law?”
"I speak from someone whose family was a victim of the Joker, hell I was a victim of him my damn self. What Officer Castle did, who’s to say it was wrong? Really? I mean after what he did to my girl Barbara, I can't say I didn't think about pulling the trigger myself."
“That’s interesting Commissioner, I had no idea that the police department condones the cold-blooded execution of detained criminals.“
“I didn’t say that!” Interrupts Gordon.
“Well it’s no surprise. You condoned the actions of the Bat-family in our city for years, and they done nothing to stave off the rising crime and supervillains that plague our fair city.” Said the prosecutor, as he raised his voice. “Why not execute them all? It’s only the natural progression of things under your command, right commissioner?”
“No that’s not what I’m saying!”
“Then answer my question Commissioner Gordon; was Frank Castle within his right or his civic duty as an officer of the law to execute the victim?”
“No.” Said Gordon, defeatedly.
“Nothing further.” Said the prosecutor, as he makes his way back to his seat.
“Does Mr. Castle have anything for the commissioner?” Asked the judge.
Frank stood from his seat, scratching his unshaven scruff. “How’s Babs?” Asked the former police officer.
The court erupted into a roar at the question.
“ORDER! ORDER!” Yelled the judge as he banged his gavel. “Mr. Castle, the court room isn’t the social hour. Do you have questions to defend yourself, to rebuttal anything the prosecution established to the court?”
“No, your honor.” Said Castle simply.
“Thank you for your testimony here today, commissioner,” Said the judge.
“The prosecution would like to call one last witness to the stand, Frank Castle.” Said the prosecution.
The court erupted once more.
The judge banged his gavel again to quiet down the court.
Castle makes his way to the stand.
He’s then sworn in.
“Can you state your name for the record.” Said the prosecutor, as he approached the stand.
“Frank Castle.”
“What is your vocation?”
“Former officer of Gotham’s police force.”
“Former,” repeats the prosecutor. “And can you tell the court today what caused you to lose that position, which coincides with what your accused of today.” Said the prosecutor, emphasizing the word, ‘accused.’
“You read the reports and statements, councilor. You tell me.”
“Answer the question, Mr. Castle,” commands the judge.
“Shooting and killing the Joker.”
The prosecutor clicks his teeth, as if processing what was just stated.
He walks back to his table, producing a picture.
The councilor walks back to stand showing a picture to Castle.
“Do you recognize this man, Mr. Castle?”
“I do.” Said Castle simply, as the prosecutor showed the picture to the court.
“That is James Irons, an alleged associate of the Falcone crime family.”
“And what is your history with, Mr. Irons?” Asked the lawyer.
“I don’t know what you mean.”
“Oh?” Said the prosecutor, facetiously. He goes back to the table grabbing several pieces of paper stapled together. “In my hand I have a formal complaint filed with the Gotham City police department against Mr. Castle on behalf of Mr. Irons. The complaint being brutality.” He hands it off to the jury, for them to verify it for themselves.
“And what is the point of this?” Asks Castle.
“I believe the phrase your looking for is, ‘objection, on the grounds of relevance.’” Said the prosecutor, arrogantly.
“Watch your tone counselor, but Mr. Castle does have a point. To what relevance is this to the court?” Said the judge.
“I’m only trying to establish to the court a history of Mr. Castle being less than kind to detained suspects. A history that started only after his family was allegedly killed by The Joker.” Said the prosecutor.
“You son of bitch-“ Frank growls as he lunges at the prosecutor and another ruckus stir occurs as he does.
The judge bangs his gavel, to regain control of the court. And the bailiffs are able to restrain Frank before he can get to the prosecution.
“Order! Mr. Castle, you are to control yourself, councilor, please do your best not to badger the witness, or I will hold you both in contempt.”
The prosecutor obviously frazzled by having Castle jump at him, straightens himself out. “As I was saying I’m simply trying to establish to the court a history of misconduct towards already arrested suspects, a history that started,” the prosecutor hesitates as Castle scowls at him, “after the untimely death of his family. As a matter of fact, I have 5 or 6 similar complaints against Mr. Castle over the last few years. So, what were those brutality cases, Mr. Castle? Working up your nerve to kill? Some measure of revenge until you found your desired prey?”
Frank sighs, then goes to answer. “If you saw what Irons did to his wife, you would’ve done the same thing. As far as the others,” Frank paused, a far away look in his eyes, “I don’t know. Things have been difficult since my family was killed.”
“That does not excuse an officer assaulting a person that’s already been arrested. It certainly doesn’t excuse you killing a detained suspect in cold blood.” Responded the prosecutor, he starts to walk back to his table, apparently finished questioning.
“Cold blood,” laughs Frank. “That was the hardest decision I’ve made since they died.”
“What?” Said the prosecutor.
“You’ve been needling witnesses all day to paint as some kind of monster. And all day I’ve listened to you corner my former colleagues and commanding officers to confirm it so. Who am I to deny what you want?” Said Frank sarcastically. “Killing the Joker wasn’t something that came to me easy. I thought about it for a long while. When I finally decided to go through with it, I waited years for my opportunity. Waited for something, anything where I can come across that piece of shit. A transport detail, a detail guarding a door as he’s being interrogated. Literally anything. My opportunity came that night a few months ago. The city’s resident so-called hero had just subdued The Joker and all nearby cars were ordered to report to scene. I happened to be assigned to guard him with another officer while we waited for a high-security bus to come cart him off. I lucked that officer I was pared with was very antagonistic and he managed to get himself hurt leaving me all alone with the Joker. I was unsure now that the time had come to actually go through with it. When I questioned him why he attacked the civic center, his answer steeled my resolve. My only regret is that I didn’t get to empty my entire clip into the son of a bitch. Is that what you wanted counselor?”
“That’s it,” replied the prosecutor simply. “Nothing further.”
“I, um,” said the judge. “The jury maybe excused so they may deliberate.”
****
The court reconvened after only 30 minutes of deliberation.
The judge once again bangs his gavel to quiet the court once more.
“Has the jury reached a verdict?” The judge addressed the foreman.
“We have reached a unanimous verdict, your honor.” Said the foreman.
He unfolds the piece of, containing said decision.
“We, the jury, find Frank Castle on the charge of first-degree murder, not guilty.”
At the rendered verdict, the court erupts more riotous than before.
The prosecutor is beside himself at the decision.
He’s yelling and ranted animated in his position at the court, mutterings of ‘mistrial’ and damnings of fifth amendment rights.
The judge is just as animated, banging his gavel attempting to regain control of the court room once more.
“Order! Goddamnit! I will clear this courtroom! Order! Order!” Yells the judge.
The court begins to simmer down at his threat. He chuckles and goes on to say, “Not guilty. Huh. Oh, well. The State of New Jersey would like to thank the jury for their service today.” He then turns his attention to Castle. “So much could be said to you, Mr. Castle. You avoided the obvious despite the overwhelming evidence against the contrary.”
“I’m just as surprised as you, your honor.” Replied Frank.
“Indeed. Mr. Castle, I wish I can say justice, as I understand it as an officer of court, was dispensed. Had it been so, you probably never would’ve been in front of me in this capacity. Commissioner Gordon’s baby girl wouldn’t be in a wheelchair. You would still come home to your family every night. Hell, that can be said of countless families across this city of ours, cause The Joker would’ve been locked away for a long, long time. But it hasn’t. Furthermore, I wish I could pat you on the back for a job well done. I wish I can tell you that-a-boy. I wish I could tell you your wife and children could rest easy now that that piece of shit is off the streets. But again, because of my station I can’t officially. Mr. Castle, the jury has given you your life back. Congratulations. Case dismissed,” he said, banging his gavel.
****
It had been a fight out the court room, as more than a few reporters had managed to find a seat during his case. He had to fight even harder on the courtroom steps, as there were reporters from every newspaper and news station trying to get a quote for this story.
Showing he still had allies in the police station, Commissioner Gordon and few other officers had formed a makeshift human barrier around Castle as they pushed their way though the throngs of journalists.
As they make their way to the parking deck, a well-built clean-shaven, red-haired man in a navy-blue suit is waiting for them. He’s standing by the rear door of limousine. Upon closer inspection, it can be seen that the gentleman actually is dressed in a military officer’s uniform.
The man then makes his own way toward Frank Castle and his escorts.
“I can take him from here, boys.” Said the man.
“Mind telling us who you are.” Said Gordon.
“Captain Rick Flag, United States military. No need to be so defensive,” said Frank, defusing the tension between the police officer’s and the man. “I served with him in the marines. He stayed with military, I decided to go into law enforcement.”
“If you say so Frank. Listen, if you need anything, anything at all, don’t hesitate to call me.” Said Gordon, extending his hand to Frank.
“Thanks, Commissioner,” replied Castle shaking hands with Gordon.
The officers and Gordon leave Flag and Castle alone to catch up. “By the way, its Colonel these days, Frank,” said Colonel Rick Flag, extending a hand to greet his old comrade.
Castle scoffs at the Colonel, “Look at you. So, what do want, Rick?”
“I’ve got someone who wants to talk to you. I know with, recent developments you’ve found yourself with a lot of time on your hands, old friend. She’s in the limo, follow me.”
Flag leads Frank to the limo. Upon reaching it, he opens the door, beckoning him to enter.
Frank passes the threshold, fixing himself into a plush leather seat as Flag closes the door.
Sitting across from him is a heavy seat African American woman.
She’s sloshing ice around in quarter filled glass, with an amber liquid inside, alcohol presumably. She’s dressed in a blue suit jacket and pencil skirt. Her hair is incredibly short, styled in a mini afro. Her dark-brown eyes bare a seriousness mirrored in the expression on her face.
“Mr. Castle,” she said, “what do you know about Task Force X?”

The Good Place Season 3 Finale: after-thoughts
*SPOILERS! duh..also it is very long, read at your own discretion*
So, that was a rollercoaster ride of a season. It started with Eleanor finding Chidi, for like the 803rd time, and it ended with Eleanor having to say goodbye to Chidi. After years of getting the soul squad back together, they are all having to face the torments of The Bad Place once again. Can’t they get a break?
Before getting in to Chidi and Eleanor’s storyline, I want to start with Michael, Janet, Tahani, and Jason.
For Michael, he is just the sweetest demon in the entire universe. In the first season, he was not only an evil liar but also hated humans and did not want to do anything else in his immortal life other than to punish the four humans. Now, he literally is doing everything to save the four from eternal damnation while trying to fix the inevitably corrupt modern society we live in today. To me, he truly had the greatest glo-up. I am very hopeful to see Michael return to his Architect position and perhaps solve mankind’s greatest issues. In this episode, it was very insightful to see how he referred to himself as middle management because he technically is. The stress of the pressure of running this universe-changing experiment is insane and the humanity in Michael really showed during the finale.
Janet, too, had a great character arc within this season and throughout the show. She/It (remember she is not a girl!) was merely a physical version of Alexa and now, Janet is almost like the humans with feelings and the incredible ability to throw shade. I do feel bad about the situation with Jason. To be honest, I never really gave much importance to it until the finale. Going in to season 4, I see what the writers did there. They set up this supposedly insane love story between a Floridian DJ and a “Busty Alexa” (Eleanor’s words, not mine) who fell in love hundreds of years ago in literal hell. Now, Janet is going to play a much larger part in the new neighborhood but importantly, she/it is now a human-like member of the Soul Squad and will probably be Eleanor’s source of strength in the upcoming season(s). Woo go Janet!!
Tahani al-Jamil has been through a lot. Just this finale episode alone she was the first to be targeted by the Bad Place and their schemes. It was almost deja vu when she was planning to plant the ‘Marc Fake-obs’ joke on John, but then again, the Good Place reminds us of the evolution each of the characters went on. Though she is a supporting character, I would really like to see her play a bigger part with keeping the integrity of the soul squad together during the upcoming seasons and perhaps find love herself.
I felt kinda sad that Jason Mendoza wasn’t in this episode that much, but his character providing some much-needed comedy relief in all of the heaviness in the finale. I do wonder though why he is back in the monk outfit, maybe to keep him quiet for safety purposes. There must be a secret Schur reason why he is in different garb for this iteration of the Fake Good Place. Like with Janet, I think they are pretty cute together and I need at least some happiness. Also, he is also one of the remaining few to not have an ex or a gossip blogger in the new Good Place yet. It will be interesting to find out. I think it will either be his dad or an ex-dance crew member or even Pillboi.
Okay. Here we go. I just rewatched the episode a few times to not only feel the feels but also to catch any details that the podcast mentioned and I might have forgotten. Without knowing it, the entirety of the show’s plot relies heavily on the unlikely relationship between Chidi Anagonye and Eleanor Shellstrop. Looking back at this season, there were little hints that the writers planted that makes this ever the more heartbreaking.
In 3x08 (Worse Possible Use of Free Will), the entire episode is basically a flashback through cheleanor’s development in Reboot 112, a previously mentioned version in season 2. I was really excited to be fed that day and the subsequent episodes but I just rewatched it again and I noticed that the same type of situation happened again. (yes I know, reboots happen every second in this show) At the end, Eleanor promises Chidi that they will find each other again and that they are true soulmates. Even in the very first episode of season 3, Eleanor comes to Australia to ask Chidi for help to be a better person and the end of season 3, it once again is Eleanor in a doorway meeting Chidi.
A lot of this season had to do with faith and memories. the Janet(s) episode reminded Eleanor, in this case, who she was because she did not remember and Chidi, like the amazing man he is, snapped her back to reality with a kiss and all was well (for a few eps). The sad part is that this time, when Chidi won’t remember Eleanor or any of the gang, Eleanor can’t just kiss him back to reality because he doesn’t even know how much she means to him.
I cry a lot at very emotional things, but this episode was a kicker. It touched a lot of people since 1) the writers are very good and also very cruel, 2) the past few episodes saw a happy cheleanor, and 3) it was all very real in a way. We all have dealt with loss and love. Seeing one person love another and miss another but the partner doesn’t remember is so devastating. In all of the reboots, every one of them forgot everything. The sad thing is only one of them can’t remember the rest and that one is the moral glue that held all of the squad together. And looping back to a previous episode when Eleanor is crying and talking about how she is both happy and sad, she mentions something about love isn’t a sure thing and now, that love that she has been so afraid to give for the longest time was ripped away from her and now she has to watch and take care of the man she loves from a distance.
Going in to season 4, we are steering less towards philosophy and hard factual morals but rather towards the pathos side of things. What it means to be a human in the face of adversity and tragedy is the theme for upcoming seasons. I do hope the slow burn of Chidi finding Eleanor again is not so slow because they truly deserve to be happy in the little dot on top of the ‘i’. I also wish for less reboots now and tears because I never expected a comedy show that makes fart and sex jokes and puns all the time to make me sob over fictional characters but here I am and I don’t regret it.
Gah this whole episode was all too much. The memory video was touching and also very soft. The line that made me bawl was when Chidi said “I am gonna miss you” and his voice cracks, then Eleanor responds “but you won’t” and then “Bye, Chidi”. I felt that. To end, I just want to say thank you to Michael Schur, Megan Amram, and Jen Statsky for this episode and the entire crew for this crazy, funny, smart, and now very sad show that never fails to make my day. Also lots of hugs to Jameela, Manny, D’Arcy, Ted, and most especially Kristen and Will for gracing our screens. By the way, KB and WJH are two of the best actors I know and I love them as Chidi and Eleanor. Ok good night everyone and thanks for reading my braindump about my feelings.
Everything is fine.

----
“Good luck kid,” she said as Bart grabbed the power core he needed for his time machine. Her gray and white hair pulled back in a braid half her head shaved showing off her scars proudly. Once beautiful now hardened by the turn on the world. “Go save our world, save my husband,” she said before pulling out her crossbow shooting at the minions who had them almost cornered. Trying to make his an escape root.
“I will,” Bart said nodding before dashing off. Leaving her to fend for herself. He knew she could. He prayed he was right as he ran.
Or maybe she wouldn’t have to if he succeed.
Crash the mode.
---
You laughed tossing your hair back as you pulled out your crossbow. A million other weapons strapped to your back but there was something about the sound of a bow that just was so comforting.
“Don’t worry Hot stuff, you covered hot stuff” you said letting another round of arrows loose on the crowd. You had been flirting with your boyfriend Jason and his outlaws this whole mission.
Ok more like flirting with Starfire the whole mission.
“Watch out your girl is going to leave you for Star” Roy laughed as the red head in question ducked letting her adversaries fall from the arrows.
“Many would, given the choice,” you added jumping down high fiving Roy.
“I don’t see why you must leave anyone to be with me” Starfire said knocking out another goon with such grace she made it look like a dance.
“See Jason I don’t have to leave you.”
“Ok haha so funny.” your boyfriend said coming up behind you shooting a goon who was running at you with a huge ax. Who even were these guys? Like, ok Paul Bunyan, who uses an ax anymore?
“I don’t see how you can’t appreciate how hot this is” Roy added summoning the jet as the four of you come together ready to be picked up.
Turning you laughed leaning forward as Jason pulling you into a deep kiss -there may have even been some tongue, “I don’t really share well” he mumbled and Roy made gagging noises next to you.
“Gross. Just get a room you too”
“Aw Roy don’t be jealous, I promise I’ll give you Jason back soon,” you said pulling at Jason’s belt winking up at your boyfriend as the Jet floated overhead dropping down a rope for you. “But, not tonight, tonight I was promised a much overdue date night.”
Date night was amazing, as was the morning after, and the morning after that.
In fact date night turned into date week and probably would have been longer if a certain redhead hadn’t barged in.
“Jesus you two! It’s 3pm. Where are your clothes!?!”
“That’s what you get for barging in Roy!”
“Well, I wasn’t expecting you too to STILL be in bed.”
“It’s a bedroom what else would we be doing in here?”
“Ok, ok, but still…”
“What brings you to our love nest, Roy?”
Roy laughed at your comment, eyes still on the ceiling, “Dick apparently needs us at Young Justice Hall or whatever they are calling it these days”
“Ok”
Roy stood there glancing down at you “Ooookkkk” you said again waiving your arms to shoo him out.
“Alright, alright I’m leaving!”
After he left Jason leaned toward you kissing you on your shoulder, “I love you” he whispered, “Not sure if I mentioned it,” he added tracing a few of your scars that ran across your shoulder, “but you are perfect”
“You may have… just a few times” you whispered kissing him on the lips
He chuckled as you deepen your kiss, his hands wandering across your body
You pulled away “Don’t start or we will never leave...”
Letting out a moan Jason flipping you over so you were straddling him. His arms wrapping around your waist. Kissing your hips, stomach, chest, as you looked down at him trying to muster the will to fight him.
“Ohhh make Dickkie bird wait” he told you between kisses making his way to your lips.
------
“How’s your little one doing?” Dick asked Roy as the archer waited for the rest of his team,
“She’s good, oddly good. You would think with her mom she would be a little more of a… handful.”
Bart was only half listening as he waited with Jamie and Tim for the Outlaws to show up. He knew Roy a little in passing but had never met the rest of the team, but he had heard stories. Apparently, they were deadly accurate and still hadn’t come across a mission they couldn’t complete. Perfically in sync. Something they Young Justice needed at the moment.
You walked confidently into the base. Don’t show any weakness. While you didn’t like new things you also knew this was a good change. Much like your team’s name suggested sometimes you guys didn’t always do things… above the books.
As you walked into the base a red-haired boy, you assumed was the speeder from the future, looked up. When he saw you his eyes light up. “Y/N Harper!” Impulse said dashing toward you giving you a hug.
“Fucking what?” Bart pulled away to see Jason standing behind your mouth open,
“Oh… uhhh… Roy said his daughter so… I thought you guys were already married. Who are you?” The last comment was at a very annoyed Jason.
“What is he talking about?” Roy asked coming up next to you. You glanced from Bart to Roy who looked like he had gotten punched in the gut. That was nothing to the look Jason was giving you. His face was white as you knew he was coming to the same conclusion you were.
“I… uhhh, got to go” Bart mumbled dashing off
“Please tell me that isn’t the kid who is from the future,” Jason said his hand taking yours holding it just a little tighter than normal. You winced as you looked from Jason to Roy. The awkwardness thick in the air. Part of you (ok all of you) wished you could dash out like Bart.
Dick sighed rubbing his temples “Yeah, shit you must be that woman he was talking about.”
“What woman?”
It turned out that in the future you took Bart under your wing teaching him. Bart hadn’t said much other than your husband, Roy had died trying to save your kids, a few years before Bart had come to the future.
Also apparently you were a pretty badass.
Halfway through the story that Dick and Jamie pieced together, Jason had left. Next to you Roy hadn’t stopped moving obviously totally conflicted. Maybe as much as you were.
Years Eariler
Jason had called you in for backup. The two of you didn't know each other long. Meeting while both going after the same ring of gangsters you both had decided to work together instead of copeet. And after that you both kept running into each other. Whether intentional or not you would never admit.
But this was the first time he had officially asked for your help.
“I need your… spark.” he had told you as you both lay in his bed. You laughed rolling out from under the sheets grabbing your shirt that had been thrown across the room the night before.
“Anything for you hot stuff.”
So you had been sneaking around the large warehouse setting up your beautiful explosion when you noticed the archer, Arsenal, in a bit of trouble. His back against the wall while trying to take down 7 or 8 guys. Not that he wasn’t doing a good job, but Jason had asked for your help so why not?
Three went down as you shot your crossbow Arsenal taking out two by bashing their heads together as you jumped down knocking out another. One more ran toward you only to shot down, one in the leg one in the arm.
“So you’re Y/N”
“How did you know?” You asked turning to the red-haired archer.
“Ohhh just a hunch” Roy laughed pulling out on arrow shooting a gunman who was behind you. You glanced over your shoulder before turning back to you pulling out your explosive trigger.
“Ready to blow this popsicle stand?” you asked “I loaded up this building with so much CC there will be nothing left but dust.”
“Please tell me you added some fireworks in.”
You laughed “obviously, what other way could you celebrate New Years?”
“Of course you are Jason’s.”
“What?”
“Nothing.”
Present
“Hey” Roy said taking a seat next to you.
“Hey” you mumbled looking up at him
“What are you thinking about?”
“The first time we met”
Roy smiled running his hand through his messy red hair before putting his hat back on, “Awww the day you met your future husband.”
“Not funny,” you said rolling your eyes, “Why are you taking this so lightly?”
“I mean I’m the one who lucks out in this scenario.” Roy chuckled “I mean even my death sounds pretty epic,” However, his smile faded when noticed you weren’t finding the same humor in this situation. “But in all seriousness, it doesn’t mean much. If Bart is right and Jason was dead in his timeline things… are different now.”
You both lapsed into silence.
“Hey Roy, that time we met and you said you knew I was Jason’s because of a hunch, what did you mean?”
Roy sighed looking down at his boots as he tapped his heels, “Only Jason could find the perfect woman.” he said looking up at you.
“Roy,” you whispered feeling your heartbreak, all those memories of Roy. those glances you had always thought were just your imagination. All those lingering touches, hugs that were just a big tighter. Those smiles and jokes. You had banished those thoughts as you just being a silly girl.
“Look,” Roy said turning to you, “Maybe I have feelings for you but I also love you as a friend too. And Jason, I love Jason like a brother. And I’m not the type to break a great thing. And Jason and you are a great thing.”
“But in another world, we were a great thing.” you whispered doubts creeping in. Maybe you were meant to be with Roy. Maybe you had made a mistake with Jason and it was the faits way of correcting itself. It wasn’t like you hadn’t made mistakes before in your life. Many mistakes. Some had scars to prove it, both inside and out.
Maybe you chose the wrong one.
“Hey that’s not fair, I’m trying to be the bigger person here,” Roy said
“What am I supposed to do?” you said looking at him. Roy shrugged,
“Are you asking me? The king of bad decisions?”
You couldn’t help but crack a smile, you both had that in common. Something the two of you had always joked about. You and Roy would just be in so much trouble if Jason wasn’t always bailing your asses out.
Jason.
Standing up you shoved your hands in your pockets. “I have to go,” you mumbled walking away leaving your future husband (in some timeline) behind you.
-----
“Y/N, I’m not letting you go”
You looked up from the bag you were packing, off to find answers. I mean this is the world where Gods existed and boys from the future came to save us all from blue aliens who were trying to destroy our planet. It wasn’t out of the realm of possibilities you could find the answers to the questions you were looking for. Maybe on some himalayan mountain or some sandy beach. (You hoped it was the latter)
“Jason, what if this is the universe telling us we aren’t supposed to be together? I mean I don’t want to wreck the timeline.”
“The universe also said I was supposed to be dead and look at me, do I seem dead.”
“I just…”
“Do you have doubts… about us?”
You winced, it would be a lie. But it wasn’t really Roy that gave you those doubts. It was yourself. You had always been a lowner. Someone who relied on themselves. And now here you were, being told your good friend was your husband and your boyfriend was… well not.
What about your children? Bart had said you had kids. If you didn’t end up with Roy would that mean they would never exist? And Roy was, Roy. Your good friend, someone you would trust with your life. Something you had never thought you could do again. Trust.
But Jason, he had been first. He was… Jason. The man who had pulled you from a very dark path and took you on the adventure of your life. You loved him so deeply sometimes it hurt. And you couldn’t lie, scared you.
What if you weren’t supposed to be with any of them? What if this was life’s way of finally catching up. Pulling away from the good… no amazing thing you had.
Your fingers danced over the scars on your arm. The scars that reminded you that you didn’t deserve either of them. Didn’t deserve that happiness you had felt.
Your head hurt.
“I don’t know Jason.” he pulled away from you as he if you stabbed him, a hot crowbar at the heart. “No Jason. I just. I love you, you said grabbing his hand. I love you so much it’s just. What if I was meant to be with Roy? I mean, what if we aren’t meant to last. I just…”
“You love me or you don’t,” Jason said eyes hard.
You winced, your whole life had been running from people, believing they would always leave you. And there was a certainty that something would work out, but it wasn’t with the man in front of you.
Maybe safety was with the other. Or Maybe rocking the boat would tip it.
What were you supposed to do?

Times Change Jason Todd x Reader
Request by Anon: Can I get an angst, since u said in ur bio that ur the angst king, of Dick or Jason's s/o in a coma n when the s/o wakes up, years already passed and Dick or Jason is with someone else? U can make the s/o evil or something idk I just want angst please I was sent here by Artza btw nice to meet u.
A/N: It is nice to meet you, Anon! Name's Gerard, but you can call me G. Ask for the Angst, and you shall receive the Angst, my new friend. Also, I am in a very depressing mood as I write this at 3 in the morning, so you'll get so much angst.
Warning: Angst. (If you didn't really know my name is Angst King.)
Two years. It's been two years since your accident to get into a coma. The doctors thought you weren't going to make it off the operation table. After all, you weren't even supposed to follow your boyfriend at the time, Jason Todd, on one of his missions. But it is what it is for you to get caught up in a huge fight with guns, and other deadly weapons in the mix.
When you finally woke up, you weren't surprised when the doctor's told you that it was a miracle for someone your age to even survive that long from the injuries you got. All of this is good and all, but that's not what you cared about. All you really cared about was your boyfriend. How was he? Did he even visit? Did he move on with his life? Is he better off knowing that you weren't there to get hurt anymore? The questions surface in your mind and continue to grow with the fact that Jason just up and left you without any explanation into why he left.
But you didn't know the answers. That was the scary fact of your brain making up scenarios to rile you up. And that's not how you want to catch up with him after two years. After the intense physical therapy, and a clean bill of health from the doc himself. Which wasn't so pleasant when he kept on persisting that you stay here for your physical therapy, and not to leave till you can walk, eat, and lift up things by yourself. And all that wasn't fun. At all. All you wanted to do is find Jason. To be in his arms again.
It took a long 7 months to finally get the strength to function properly without any assistance from anybody in the hospital. But you were ready to finally get out, and look for him. It's funny how no one STILL went out to visit you. Did the doctor even call your emergency contact to tell the others that you were out of your coma? Or did you even have an emergency contact in the first place?
"Umm. Excuse me, Doctor Strauss? But how did I get here in the first place? Cause I didn't have any visitors or have anybody show up durin' my physical therapy..."
The doctor looked at you with a concerned look and sighed deeply, not wanting to be the one to actually answer the question. "You were just brought here as a Jane/John Doe on a gurney, rushed to the ER from your head trauma... That's all we knew... We didn't even know your name till you woke up and told us... I am so sorry, (Y/N)..."
Those words hit you like an oncoming train. Jason Todd. The love of your life. Your Soul Mate. Your other half. Just dump you there, and left you alone. For almost THREE YEARS. What was he thinking? Did he really give you up that easily after the incident? Why would he do that? Anger bubbled up inside of you, your knuckles turning white from your fists being balled up so tightly in anger.
"I can't believe he forgot 'bout me... He... Forgot 'bout me... After he even told me that HE didn't want to be forgotten... I fuckin' can't believe it!" In anger, you threw your fist, hitting the first thing that came into contact with your fist, and that being the white wall of the hospital. Doctor Strauss grabs your wrist to prevent you from hurting yourself again.
"(Y/N)! Stop! You'll break your bones!"
"I don't care! He left me! He left me for almost THREE FUCKIN' YEARS!" You yank your arm out of his grasp, growling in anger.
"Look, hurtin' yourself won't do anything to help you in this situation. You're better off goin' to the source, and tellin' him how you feel. He's got to have an explanation of why he did what he did. Ok? There's no need for you to hurt yourself over this, (Y/N)..."
You calm down a little bit to take in what the doctor is telling you. After all, he IS a doctor, and he knows what's good for you. Right? Right. You nod at his words and went back to your room to gather your things, heading out to get your life back together. But first, you need a place to stay at, and a shower. A warm shower sounds like Heaven to you right now.
Ironically your old place was still livable, and not taken by anybody else. So, that's a plus side for you. You immediately go to the bathroom, strip your clothes off, and hopped into the shower to get cleaned off.  You deserved this warm shower and a hot meal after the bullshit you've been through. To think things through; how you're going to confront Jason with all this information. Thinking carefully about what you'll say, and how to say it all; after all, you really don't want to start yelling at him yet until you get his undivided attention. That's when you came up with the perfect plan to do it all. It'll take patience and willpower to not strangle him with your bare hands, but it'll be worth it all when the moment finally comes.
It took seven months to carefully plan out what you're going to do to confront him; and out of those seven months of collecting yourself mentally, you found out the worst thing he's ever done to you other than leaving you at a hospital: he got himself a girlfriend. She's a beautiful catch; brunette hair, bubblegum smile, warm brown eyes, petite, and a sweet personality. Her name's Patricia from Gotham, and she works at the supermarket in the day, and a stripper/pole dancer at night. Funny how things go with him... And it'll all come back to bite him in the ass. How karma works is amazing, when you take it into your own hands.
You know that he'll be on a mission tonight without her, so it's a perfect time to talk to him. You grabbed your mask, and put on your customized uniform, looking at the mirror to see your work, and smiled in approval, leaving the apartment out into the darkness of the city. The wait for Red Hood will be so worth it when you run into him, but as a different person instead of the lover he left at the hospital.
It didn't take long for you to find the Red Hood on the rooftops by his favourite gargoyle. You remembered the talk you had with him when he told you that it was his only best friend before he met you. Such a sweet memory to have. But that's in the past, and the past is seeking revenge for his pain. Carefully, you quickly ran to the rooftop, making sure to not make a sound with your footsteps as you got closer to him. He looked so calm, looking out at the city lights, not having a care in the world. You got closer to him, hearing his calm breathing, not even being in the sense of the outside world; caught up in his own little world and thoughts of the mind of Jason Peter Todd.
Needle ready, you ghosted your way closer to Jason, and quickly jammed the needle into his exposed neck as you covered his mouth to muffle his screams, pushing the plunger down on the needle, felling his body wriggle to get free then stops, telling you he's out cold.
"Goodnight, Jason Todd..."
Then his world went black, as his body limps in your arms. Now to move his heavy ass to a secluded place. Should've thought about that before you knocked him out. Forgot that he's a deadweight of 220 pounds of pure muscle. Even Dick Grayson had a hard time picking up his body at one point in the past. But it's gotta be done before he wakes up, which won't be long. Gathering your strength, you grabbed Jason's underarms and steadily picked him up, being careful to not break your back with his heavyweight.
He starts to wake up when you finally found an empty warehouse in the cliche part of town. You really didn't want to be in here, but you didn't have enough time to actually find anything better than this. The drugs start to wear off, and you can hear him groan as he tries to wake up. Thank god you know how to tie a tight knot, you are the Knot Master after all, as Jason `has always told you when you'd tie up on of his villains for him to interrogate.
You had taken off his helmet to slap on a heavy strip of duct tape on his mouth and around his neck so he wouldn't yell out. Seeing him now fully awake, thrashing around on the ground against the pole he's tied up to. This asshole did not deserve a chair to sit in in the first place. He finally calms down looking around the dark area he found himself in. Yelling through the tape, only to get muffled yells.
"Finally you're awake... How does it feel to be alone and isolated after wakin' up from a long slumber?" Your voice echoed throughout the empty warehouse, making Jason look everywhere for the source of the voice. Watching him looking around for a way out and a plan to not get killed is one of the things out of this whole ordeal you want to see him do. For him to feel like he couldn't do anything about it to make it better. Welp, you better get this show on the road. You walked to him, your mask still on your face to conceal your identity.
"Doesn't ring a bell, Jason Todd? After all, we were together till the accident... Then you left me..." Your voice laced with anger as you walked towards him, stopping right in front of him. It was the moment to finally hurt him, to make him pay for what he did to you three years ago. He wasn't going to get away with it any longer. You grabbed a bat from the far wall beside him, running it over his body, making him stay still, and ripped off the tape from his face, earning a yell from him as the essence of the tape leaves his face redden from the harsh pull.
"Son of a bitch! What do you want?! Who the Hell are you??"
His questions meant nothing to you, as you swung the bat, hitting his face with a hard "THWAK!", causing him to yell out in pain, but put the point across to not speak if he doesn't want to get a concussion soon. You looked at him with a deadpan expression, watching the blood roll down his face from where you hit him.
"Do you 'member (Y/N)? (Y/F/N)? They sure 'member you..."
He paused for a moment, giving you a look of regret and heavy guilt. "(Y/N).... I... I am so s-"
You hit him again with the bat, making sure to knock out a few molars from his mouth of lies. "Don't you fuckin' lie to me! You just left me! You forgot 'bout me! You just left me to die! I trust you!" You rip off your mask, tears running down your face in anger. "I can't even stand to look at you! No visits! No calls! Nothin'! For three fuckin' years, Jason!"
"I am sorry that I left you, (Y/N)! But I couldn't take the guilt of you dying from that attack! After that damn goon hit you with that pipe over and over again, I thought you weren't goin' to make it! You were black and blue like Nightwing's suit, COVERED in bruises from that damn pipe! What were you even thinkin'? You KNOW not to follow me on missions! I TOLD you to stay inside, and not to follow me! But your dumbass had to follow me, and almost get killed! I don't care how much training you got at the gym or from Bruce himself! You weren't ready!"
Anger bubbled up inside of you again. That's the best he's got in an explanation? "You LEFT me on a damn gurney in the hospital! With no other contact to tell others where I was! Did anybody even ASK where I was? Did you even tell 'em what happened to me?" Tears stream down your face from the realization, "You... Did you tell the others that you broke up with me?... I..." You couldn't take it anymore, and you continued to hit him with the bat until his face was unrecognizable.
You dropped the bat, hearing a hollow thud on the concrete floor, and dropped to the ground on your knees. Emotionally tired, and not wanting to deal with it all anymore. Breathing hard as you look at a battered up Jason Todd. This was it. This was your moment to feel better for your revenge of him from three years ago. Why are you just full of guilt? Why? He deserved this, after all. Your suffering, your abandonment, your heartache.
Hours go by of just looking at the beaten up man who broke your heart. No talking. Just silence. He was afraid that you'll grab the bat again if he starts to talk again. The stubborn man you grew to love three years ago, is tied to a pole and beaten to a bloody pulp. And this wasn't you to even hurt him like this. Anger took over you to hurt him. This wasn't you. Not at all.
"Oh, my god. What am I doin'? This isn't me... Jay... I..." You looked at him with tears in your eyes. Not believing what you did to the love of your life. You start to reach out for him, till the anger came back to you. He left you, don't you remember? He left you to die on a gurney. No call. No visit. Nothing. And you're going to forgive for that? He deserved this. You've been alone and in pain with no love or support for three long years. How are you going to let that slip? No, you're not. Not at all. This won't be forgotten. You won't forget this. Your revenge hasn't been fulfilled yet.
You grabbed your mask from the ground, picked up the bat, and headed out of the warehouse, leaving Jason by himself. Alone like he left you. Hearing his screams for you to come back, and not to leave him as the heavy door creaks loudly from being shut. Leaving him alone in total darkness.
My first Angst story! I hope you guys enjoy!
