olive you – cl16
genre: fluff, 2k celebration, olive theory drabble
auds here... finishing out my drafts from the 2k celebration... i have like 65 more i have to filter thru lol... love u guys
Waves crash softly against the pebbly shore, salt filling your nose as you twirl pasta onto your fork. There is something so enchanting about Italy, something so romantic and unbridled, that keeps you alive and happy whenever you visit. Perhaps it’s the food, the locals, the souvenir shops, the signs reading alla spiaggia right by the summery coast.
You chew on your fettuccine, and watch as a fork slowly deposits olive segments onto your plate. Perhaps, then, it’s none of those things. Perhaps it’s him. “Mmm. Grazie,” you hum gratefully, mixing the olives into your pasta.
Like many routines, this came to fruition with years of habit. On your first date, at an Italian place in Monte Carlo, you’d gushed about how much you liked to eat olives. Charles had done the complete opposite—he couldn’t stand them, he droned. Not in pasta, not in martinis, not anywhere. So it came to be that he would buy you jars of olives or give you the little bits he found on his plate.
It wasn’t a big deal to either of you at first, but your friends thought it was just about the cutest idea in the world, the pinnacle of the opposites attract concept, the perfect balance. And every time you get together they ask Charles if he likes olives, and each time, he kisses your hair and murmurs never.
He loves to kiss your hair, your legs. Nobody has ever come that close, you tell him every time. Only the air, only the water, only my spritzes of perfume. Nobody.
“Martini?” Carlos asks.
“Oh, I—” Charles smiles dopily, shaking his head. “Olives, I don’t like them.”
“Took a shot with the order. Sorry, mate.” They shake hands, wait for the meeting to start, make small talk about work and the off season. Being back at Fiorano always gives Charles a daunting kind of feeling, one that typically quells once he catches sight of you. Carlos pauses, takes a sip from his cold drink, then, “Are you sure you don’t like olives?”
Being a relatively new close friend means Carlos hasn’t yet been privy to the olive theory that’s spanned years and continents. Charles nods, opening his mouth to explain why, and why this fact matters so much, then—
“When we got a 1-2 in Bahrain last year,” his teammate starts, “and we all got drunk, Isa didn’t let me have alcohol because she didn’t want to drive me home.” He laughs. “Anyway, I saw you eating olives. You had a little toothpick thing, picking out olives from the aperitivo.”
Charles’ heart pounds. “Huh? Well… I guess I wouldn’t… mind them.”
“Eugh.” Carlos grimaces. “Olives are shit. Isa thinks so, too.”
You’re busy at the stove cooking a half-assed meal when he wrestles himself through the flat entrance, following the smell of garlic and approaching you instantly from behind. His hug is intense, his lips latched onto your neck. He inhales your scent, comforted by the traces of your perfume, his own scent lingering on his polo that hugs your body.
“Don’t be mad,” he says thinly, half-muffled.
“I told you don’t get a tattoo of my face across your arm.”
“It’s not that,” he says, resigned. He pouts, and you turn to comfort him, fluffing his hair up. A rogue strand falls in front of his face and when you lean closer to brush it away, he takes the chance to kiss you.
You smile while you kiss. Whaaat? You ask into his lips, amused by his silence and shyness. He still is quiet, lips just resting on yours. You pull away, a bit more worried now.
“Charles.” Your hands find purchase on his arms, shoulders, then his face in your grip. He holds your hands there.
“I…” He pauses. “I think I—I like olives.”
You relax, and the smile that arrives at your lips is purely involuntary. You can’t help it. “So we both like them,” you say simply, with a smile. “We’ll have to work out a system where you don’t steal all my jars from me.”
What your goof boyfriend fails to realize, you think as he bends over the stove and helps you finish off the pasta (extra olives, this time) is the olive theory has never mattered to you. It was never about the olives. It was never about the jars.
If love was about anything—it’d always, always be Charles.

*ೃ༄“Uh... I think we’re locked inside.”
—You get locked up in a room, in a cold season with haikyuu men.
kutoo tetsuro, hinata shoyo, bokuto kotaro, ushijima wakatoshi, and kei tsukkishima, (f).
genres + warning. fluff! | none! |
notes i. i badly need requests. :’>
Tetsuro. His body freezes as soon as he felt the doorknob not moving after he did his best to turn it around and hope that maybe it will open. But his fate was sealed as soon as he step through those doors with you just so he could pull you in a quick make out session. But luck wasn’t both on your side today, “Tetsu?”
“Something’s wrong with this door, kitten.” He chuckles nervously before starting to pull it, trying his best to maybe open the door and save you both from scolding from the teachers. You rush over to your boyfriends side before taking over and also trying your best to open it.
You finally give up, both of you looked at each other before erupting into laughters. Tetsuro stops his laughs for a moment before giving you such an interesting look, “I... wanna continue making out?”
Hinata. “We’re locked inside, Y/n-chan!” The tangerine yelled, his eyes looked over to you and you can tell that in his eyes it was as if the end of the world for him. You sighed at how the tangerine was panicking more than you, grabbing one of the boxes you grabbed with you to hopefully place it in the storage room but you ended being locked up with Shoyo.
You signaled him to sit and he did, you sat on one of the boxes on your own.
“At situations like this you need to stay calm, Hinata-kun.” You tell him with a small smile to at least give him some reassurance, to try and at least loosen up the tangerine.
“Understood! Calm it is, Y/n-chan!” He says and before you can say anything he began to hold his breath.
“That means you can breathe, Hinata-kun.”
Bokuto. “I think this is enough, Bo.” You tell him, your sweat dropped as he makes you wear another layer of as many outfits he can find inside the locker room on you, you swore it was enough to make a whole apartment of how big and slightly hot you felt. After Bokuto found out both of you were locked inside the locker room with the members already went home first and you both stayed, only to result on both of you being locked away.
And when the owl noticed it was dangerously cold, he wasted no time to borrow his teammates jackets including his to suffocate it with you.
“Do you feel cold still, baby?” He asks with genuine concern as he cups your face with both of his hands.
“I should be asking you that, you’re only wearing a t-shirt.” You tell him with a slight roll of your eyes.
Bokuto brings a hand to scratch the back of his neck with a nervous chuckle, “Come to think of it, it is kind of cold.”
Wakatoshi. “The doorknob is not functioning right, Y/n. And I think we’re locked inside.” The tall man explains to you and you drop the tools you had with you before rushing over to his side, you sighed. After all you just wanted to talk to your boyfriend and maybe some spend some time with him, maybe the universe wanted both of you to spend time with each other much more longer, “Can you break it? You’re pretty strong after all.”
“My apologies, That’s outside of my strength. Breaking the doorknob is unnecessary too, let us wait for someone to pass by and ask for assistance.” He tells you with a slight sad face, you nod at his explanation. Wakatoshi was a smart guy so it wasn’t a mistake to believe him.
“Yeah, let’s do that— it’s freezing in here though.” You exclaim, the breeze brushes on you again and you shivered, Wakatoshi notices instantly.
“I heard body heat is great for situations like this.” He tells you as if it was not a big deal, he also said that like it was nothing. It was like he said a straight up fact and that it was needed, he forgets to realize how intimate it can be. But you both did it anyway.
Kei. “It’s all your fault why we ended up being stuck in such a skimpy place like this.” Kei bites right in your face as you began to back away, your back hitting the table of the janitor’s closet. It was supposed to be you and your best friend’s time to clean up the classroom, and you had both gotten into an argument before going into the janitor’s closet only for you to accidentally break the doorknob after yelling at the blonde.
“Me breaking the doorknob shows how I’m much stronger than you.” You bite back at him with a roll of your eyes. And before you knew it a flick on your forehead was felt, you yelp before your hands flew up to your forehead to shield it from anymore pain, “What the fuck?”
“You’ve got a smart mouth for someone who’s little.” He teases you, despite the dark lighting you can still feel the smirk placed on his stupidly handsome face.
“Shut up, it feels like it’s getting colder when you speak.” You tell him, trying to think a better comeback in the process.
Kei silences for a moment before grabbing both of your hands with his and you looked at him in surprise, “Hug me.”
You looked at him as if he had grown two heads but he didn’t even look like he was joking so without any protest out from your mouth you followed his words and snaked your arms around his small waist, your hands slightly feeling warmer, “This feels weird.”
“Do you want to die or what.”

Poisonous Flowers [1001] - Ch 1
Wrote this for school and decided I wanted to flesh out my anomalous world. Proofread a bit, but this was my first time writing something big, so please let me know if any plot holes or inconsistencies are found. The continuing chapters are scheduled for the next four days.
Also Bravo Team will be tagged with [1000].
Next chapter here.
“To begin the day, sightings of an anomalous being have been found yet again in the downtown area of Salamander City, more specifically on Gecko Circle. Witnesses say that it was a human-like entity, covered in fungus, tree bark, and lichen. Stay in lighted areas and remain in groups. In other anomalous news—” The television cut off, its remote held in the hand of the teammate who had just entered the common area.
“Hey Dip,” Brit says simply. He’s not really one for small talk.
“Already up?” the other man asks with a raised brow. His short curly hair was still ruffled, eyes clearly showing a sleep-deprived man. “... I guess that freak’s what we’re goin’ after then?” he said, setting the remote down on the TV-stand and looking over at the team leader.
Brit gave a little nod, standing up from the seat. “Not freaks... but yes, Dipaulo, seems like that’s our target. Where’s the others?” questioned Brit as he made his way out of the common room and through the hall.
Dipaulo followed closely behind, looking up at Brit as he spoke. “Just came back from the mess hall. I think... Erikson is still helping Phillips with her equipment? No clue where Vance went off to though...”
“Right behind you, buds.” Ah. There he was.
Dipaulo spun around, almost jumping at the sudden appearance of the (figurative) little gremlin known as Vance. “God—Vance! Yer’ such a little—” He hisses, making a pouting face before facing forward again.
“You two’re so immature sometimes...” Brit muttered under his breath, which earned a smug chuckle from Vance and a huff from Dipaulo.
The trio continued to walk over to the dorms, being greeted by Erikson and Phillips in the middle of the hallway. The two were chatting, likely just on their way to go see the others.
Vance perks up, jogging across the hall in no time.  “There you two are! C’mon guys, we gotta go, uh... We gotta... gotta... ” He looked over to Brit.
“Contain an anomaly like we always do,” he continued.
“Right, yeah, that.” Vance said, nodding his head and keeping his actions just as confident as if he was the one who finished the sentence. He dragged both of them by their wrists, even though they were already on their way over.  “What’s this thing about anyway, Brit?”
“I’ll explain when we’re ready to go. Erikson: start up the van, make sure ev’ryone got their equipment, that stuff. I’m telling I-12 we’re heading out,” Brit announced.
     "Yep-yep.”
Erikson took off to the parking lot with Phillips, Vance, and Dipaulo in tow; while Brit made his way through the many sterile concrete hallways, reaching I-12's office in only a few minutes. Just a quick in 'n out, no longer than it has t' be, he reminded himself. After a couple knocks, and the go ahead from him to enter, he took a step into his office. "Sir.”
I-12 looked up at me from his desk, his TV screen remaining its usual turquoise blue. “Yes, Salem?” His voice echoed with just barely audible static.
Brit never got over how... odd I-12 was. No offence to the robot-man- of course, but having a boss with an expressionless television for a head wasn’t exactly the norm; even when one works with anomalies every day. “Permission for Bravo Team to attempt to capture an entity in the city?” he asked firmly.
“Permission granted. File a report when you’re done with the mission,” I-12 states as per routine. “And one other thing..."
     "Hm?"
"Don't deal with it like last time, alright? We kinda need them alive and still anomalous. I don’t even know how you five did that catastrophe that was last week...” I-12’s screen changed colour to purple a few times, which was presumed to be a...  change of emotion? Brit wasn’t quite sure.
“... O’ course. We’ll refrain from doing that again, sir.”
     “Good.”
Brit nodded respectfully, making his way out and to the exit. Lovely, he found out ‘bout that, he thought, then sighing. Erikson should ‘ave everything settled and ready to go by now.
Everyone's loaded up into the van, their weapons, anomaly restraints; all the things required for each and every mission. Brit gets into the driver's side, Erikson to his right, and the other three in the back. “ ‘re we all ready to go, lads?” Everyone states a form of confirmation, and the van leaves the parking garage by the lab, moving smoothly down the road to head for the city. The drive would be about 15 or so minutes, as it always was; and it was only about 0600 in the morning so the whole drive was generally quiet. Once Vance woke up fully though, he was like a hyperactive toddler. One interaction that other people may think is strange that’s actually expected when it’s coming from Vance would go along something like this:
Phillips taps Vance’s shoulder, as he was the one right next to her. “U–uhm... Vance?”
     “Obamna soda.”
     “Wha... ? N–no, that’s—”
“BIDEN BLAST!” Dipaulo loudly interjects after having heard the ‘calling phrase’. Dipaulo and Vance are already wheezing with laughter at their own ridiculousness, while Phillip’s expression can only be described as both confusion, and/or immense fear. All the while, Erikson is holding his head in disappointment.
“Good luck getting used to us, Phillips,” Brit said in a deadpanned voice while driving. Phillips couldn’t tell if it was actual good luck, or a threat that they could get a lot more chaotic. Probably both.
“... Thank... you... ?” Phillips mumbles. “Right, uhm, sir? Weren’t you gonna tell us about the anomaly? I mean... we should probably know what it is we’re even going after.”
Brit glanced at her for a second or two in the rearview mirror. “'S a plant humanoid, somewhere downtown. That’s all we’ve got on it.”
“... Oh, yay...” She says back sarcastically, looking out the tinted black van windows. So they were going after an anomaly that could almost definitely blend into foliage with ease, and none of them even knew what it looked like... Better than being completely blind to what I’m looking for, I suppose... Phillips thought.
“Well then,” said Erikson with a sigh, still brushing off what Vance and Dipaulo just did. “Brit, how long ‘til we get there?”
He shrugs without another word. The man is still very sleepy, that much is obvious.
The van returned to silence, of course with the occasional small talk or jokes that randomly popped into Vance’s head, but nothing of note. Some time later, they pulled into a parking space on the side of the road, now in the city.
“Remember guys, no civilian harm—we hafta get at least 2 months without doing that, got it? I really shouldn’t even need to tell you guys,” Brit said as he turned off the van, his eyes shifting between Vance and Dipaulo specifically.
“Yes, yeah, I know, but I keep telling you that it's their faults!” Vance retorted.
“That doe’n’t make it any better!” Brit loudly said, before sighing and lowering his voice down to normal. “C’mon everyone. Out the van ‘nd grab yer equipment.”
All of them did so, getting out of the vehicle and taking their respective weapons (even though they barely used them), and anomaly restraints out the trunk. Of course, that earned them some weird looks from people because, well, no one in the city was really used to anomalies or the people that wanted to capture them. Not going to lie though, they did look like they were on their way to kidnap someone, so the weird looks were more than justifiable to call the cops; and that has definitely delayed them more than a couple of times.
Once everyone had settled with their equipment, Brit spoke up again, looking at Erikson, "2-4, you're bringing 2-3 and 2-1. You know the drill, search the west side."
     Erikson—callsign 2-4—gave a firm nod.
He turned to Dip, motioning for him to follow with a little wave of his hand, "2-2, with me on the east. Report in an hour if you don't find it by then. Bravo, head out."

Paper Rings (Buddie's Version)
5 times Buck makes Eddie a paper ring + 1 time Eddie gives him a real on
Read on ao3 here
1.
It started as a joke really. Buck wasn’t sure where he’d gotten the notion, maybe from that stupidly catchy Taylor Swift song May had been so insistent on playing all summer. Something about it had wormed its way into a small corner of his brain and he couldn’t shake the words.
I’d marry you with paper rings
He’d thought about marrying Eddie. Of course, he had. A small part of him felt he and Eddie had been married for years, had been married since they’d stopped posturing over a man with a grenade in his leg and became some semblance of friends. Since Eddie had looked him in the eyes, stupidly large hand on his shoulder and ridiculously soulful brown eyes filled with so much sincerity and concern and said “There is no one in this world I trust with my son more than you.” He’d thought about it more recently, as they crossed the threshold over one year of dating. He thought about the pages of bookmarked rings he was hiding from Eddie on his laptop. He was months away from clicking the button to buy one, they had time, but he wanted it more than anything.
“What’s on your mind babe?” Eddie’s voice snapped him out of his thoughts.
“Nothing important. Just drifting.”
Buck fiddled with the straw wrapped, winding it around his finger. He’d brought coffee by the station on his day off, playing the role of thoughtful, off-duty friend, but it was really a ploy to see his boyfriend. The others had recognized that, thanking Buck for the coffee and making themselves as scarce as possible in the crowded firehouse, giving him and Eddie some time alone in the loft.
“Thank you for bringing the coffee baby. You know you didn’t have to do that,” Eddie took a sip of his latte.
“It’s no big deal. I wanted to see you anyway.”
“We saw each other this morning Buck,” he chuckled.
“I know. I just don’t like being on different shifts. I don’t like you being here without me when I can’t have your back.”
“I know honey,” Eddie tapped his fingers against Buck’s wrist.”But you’re gonna be there to pick up Christopher and feed him more junk food than I would ever approve of. Then I’ll be home in the morning to take him to school and we get a whole eight hours of uninterrupted us time.”
Buck nodded, continuing to wrap the paper around his finger, twisting the ends into a knot, and using the condensation from his cup to mold it into a shape that roughly resembled a ring. He reached across the table to take Eddie’s hands and slipped it off his own finger and onto Eddie’s.
“What’s this?” Eddie laughed, lifting his hand to look at what Buck had just made.
“A ring,” he said sheepishly, ducking his head.
“A paper ring. Like that dumb song, May has insisted on blaring for weeks?”
“Yeah, I guess.”
“You’re so cute baby,” Eddie chuckled, leaning over the table to kiss Buck softly.
Buck laughed into the kiss, cutting it short in case one of their teammates decided to come upstairs and give them shit.
“You can take it off if you want.”
“Shut up, I’m keeping it. Well, I’ll take it off before the next call, but you made it for me so I’m keeping it.”
Buck blushed but didn’t have time to dwell on it as the alarm started ringing.
“Thanks for the coffee babe. I’ll see you in the morning, I love you.”
“I love you too Eds, please be safe.”
“Always,” Eddie kissed the top of his head and he passed by, jogging down the stairs to catch up to the rest of the team.
As they pulled out of the bay, Eddie looked down, remembering the flimsy paper ring on his finger. He slipped it off, tucking it safely in the pocket of his turnout coat.
“What’s that?” Chim asked curiously.
“Nothing. Just a present from Buck.”
2.
The second time, they were out to dinner with Hen and Karen. It wasn’t a double date necessarily, considering the two preteen boys occupying the booth next to them, close enough for their parents to keep an eye on them, but far enough that they felt like they were here on their own.
Buck wasn’t quite sure what was wrong with him today. His anxiety was cranked up to eleven, despite the fact that nothing was going on in his life that warranted anxiety. He’d told Eddie, and his ever-concerned boyfriend had insisted that they could stay home and take it easy that day. Christopher could still go out for lunch with Denny and he could ask Hen and Karen to drop him back by the house. But Buck had insisted, not wanting to ruin Chris’s plans, and not wanting Eddie to be trapped in the house with him all day, dealing with his funk.
So that’s how he found himself here, in a sticky booth of a pizza place in downtown LA, once again twisting a straw wrapper around his fingers.
“You alright Buckaroo?” Hen asked, looking at her friend with concern. “You seem off today.”
Buck picked mindlessly at the salad he had ordered, “Yeah I’m alright. Just didn’t sleep well last night.”
“Don’t worry, I’m forcing him to nap when we get home.”
“Like you won't immediately fall asleep next to me,” Buck teased.
The easy banter made him feel marginally better but he continued to fiddle with the wrapper, the continuous movement taking his brain off the thoughts rattling around in it. He listened half-heartedly as Eddie and Karen chatted about school and Christopher’s therapy, things Buck really should have had more of an opinion on, but he couldn’t bring his voice to work. Before he knew it, he had another ring clutched between his fingers, slightly uglier than the first one due to his shaking hands, but a ring nonetheless.
Under the table, he grabbed Eddie's hand, slipped the ring onto his left hand, and kept their fingers tangled together.
“You okay?” Eddie mouthed.
Buck nodded, squeezing lightly.
On the ride home, Buck kept glancing down at where his and Eddie’s hands were clasped over the center console. The flimsy paper ring was still nestled on his finger. It warmed his heart a little and helped to relax the fist that had been clenched tightly around his lungs since he woke up that morning. Eddie wearing his stupid paper ring made him feel ridiculously loved.
Buck forgot about the ring until dinner time. Between his forced nap, helping Christopher with homework, and keeping Eddie from burning down the kitchen making dinner, he had forgotten about the crumpled straw wrapper taking up space on Eddie’s finger. That was until Christopher brought it to his attention.
“Dad, what’s on your hand?”
“Huh?” Eddie looked down at his hand and chuckled. “Buck made it for me. It's a ring.”
He pulled it off carefully and showed it to his son.
“Why did Buck make you a ring?”
“Just a silly joke Chris,” Buck said, reaching over to ruffle his hair.
“Will you make me one next time?”
“Sure buddy.”
3.
Three is a pattern. That’s what Buck had always heard from Maddie when he tried to convince her that his stupid stunts were totally accidents.
“One is an accident. Two is a coincidence. Three is a pattern, Evan.”
So his strange habit of making Eddie paper rings out of straw wrappers had become a pattern. He was sure Eddie had a small collection of them growing somewhere. If he even kept them. He wouldn’t blame him for throwing them away, but part of him liked to imagine that Eddie kept them somewhere safe, especially since he’d taken to wearing his little tokens all day long.
It had become almost subconscious, something to do with his hands as they sat around dinner tables or bar booths. Tonight it was the latter. Hen and Karen had invited them all out after their shift, to celebrate four days of freedom after a hellish week. Eddie was three Jack and Cokes deep, pressed against Buck’s said, arm slung over his shoulders on the back of the booth. He was nursing his own vodka and Sprite, leaning into his boyfriend’s solid warmth.
Tonight, however, he was doing it on purpose. The table was littered with straw wrappers, so it was easy to snatch one and start twisting it into the shape he’d become familiar with. As he worked, Eddie’s left hand drifted to rest on his thigh, rubbing gently over the denim that covered his skin.
“Hi,” he whispered against his ear.
“Hi,” Buck broke his concentration for a moment to look at him.
“Whatcha doin'?” Eddie’s head rested against his.
“Making your ring. It’s almost done.”
Eddie stayed like that, plastered to his side, watching as Buck finished his masterpiece. He picked up Eddie’s hand and slipped the ring on.
“Thanks, baby,” Eddie kissed the side of his head. “I’m gonna get another drink, anyone else want anything?”
The rest of the team spouted off their drink orders and Bobby excused himself to help Eddie with the load.
“What was that Buckaroo?” Chimney asked, leaning forward to prop his chin in his hand and stare his brother-in-law down with a little too much intensity for a drunk person.
“What was what?”
“You sitting over there with Eddie being all lovey and gross. Then you just tie a straw wrapper on his head and he acts like it’s the best present he’s ever gotten. What gives?”
“Nothin’ gives. It’s just a joke. I make him rings out of straw wrappers and he wears them. It’s just for fun.”
“That is sickeningly cute,” Albert pretends to gag then promptly takes a sip of his beer to hide his smile.
“Albert stop flirting with my boyfriend,” Eddie demands as he comes back to the table with a tray of drinks, Bobby following closely behind with the rest.
“I was calling both of you cute,” Albert winked, taking his drink from Eddie.
Eddie slides back down in the booth and smacks a kiss to the side of Buck’s head. “Another vodka and Sprite for my cute boyfriend.”
“Thanks, babe.”
Buck took Eddie’s hand into his lap and began playing absentmindedly with his fingers. He twisted the paper around his finger, sliding it on and off. He didn’t even notice when Eddie snatched up his own wrapper, twisting it into a similar shape and sliding it onto Buck’s hand.
“There, now we match.”
4.
Eddie had a small pile of paper rings building up in his work locker. He liked that Buck made them for him, enjoying the small, adorable gesture Buck made for him every time there was a bit of scrap paper lying in his immediate vicinity.
Tonight was a slow night at the firehouse, though no one dared utter the fated Q word, for fear of invoking another jinx or curse or whatever they wanted to call it. Eddie wasn’t complaining, instead, he was taking the opportunity to enjoy uninterrupted time with Buck. They worked the same shift, but every day other than today they had been spread thin and barely had time to speak as they passed each other, let alone spend any real time together. So tonight he was just enjoying his boyfriend’s company. Eddie was scrolling mindlessly on his phone and Buck had kicked on his boots and was lounging on the couch, feet tucked under Eddie’s thigh.
It was perfect and cozy and everything he had been missing all week. He didn’t even notice that Buck had somehow gathered some scrap paper and was currently making the most intricate ring in his collection. It wasn’t until Buck nudged him with his foot that Eddie turned his attention to him.
It was dark in the loft, lights dim since everyone else was in the bunk room taking advantage of the Q word night. He could still tell what Buck was holding out to him. A blue and white paper ring, with at least two braids and something that resembled a diamond.
“You have outdone yourself on this one Buck,” he chuckled, taking the ring and sliding it onto his finger.
“I’ve been working on it for the last half hour”, Buck said, only sounding a little bit proud of himself.
“It’s beautiful baby,” he praised. “But where did you find all of this paper.”
“I might have snagged the scraps from Chris’s art project this afternoon.”
Their son had stopped by after school with Carla and Buck and Ravi had spent the better part of an hour assisting him with his art assignment.
“You’re precious,” Eddie pulled him up to kiss him softly. “I love you, Evan Buckley.”
“I love you too, Eddie Diaz.”
5.
Eddie didn’t really notice the rings anymore. They had become such a staple he’d almost gotten used to the scratchy feel of the paper on his skin. Sometimes he even forgot to take them off, until he was sitting in the truck on his way to a high-risk call and slipped it into his pocket to keep it safe from the flames or just before he slipped into the shower, storing it someplace safe to keep the paper from disintegrating under the spray.
He’d become so used to the familiar feeling that he’d forgotten to take the latest one-off.
The newest addition to his paper ring collection had come from lunch with Buck that day.
He’d managed to slip away from his shift early, due to a very Q-word day at the station. He’d called Buck, who was hanging out at home up to his eyebrows in laundry, and asked him to meet him at a diner down the street from the station. Buck had slid into the booth across from him twenty minutes later, blue eyes bright, smile plastered to his pretty face.
“Hi babe,” he said cheerfully, leaning across the table to kiss him.
“Hey, you. You’re awfully chipper for someone who’s been folding my socks all day.”
“Just glad I got to see you earlier than expected.”
“I’m glad I got to see you too,” Eddie smiled and reached across the table to take his hand. “I ordered you an iced tea and those chips you like. That okay?”
“That’s perfect.”
He told Buck stories from their calls today, a kid who locked himself in the bathroom and his dad giving himself a broken wrist trying to take down the door was his favorite until their drinks and appetizer arrived.
Buck didn’t even hide this time. As soon as the straw was unwrapped, he was twisting the straw into a ring for Eddie.
“Here ya go,” Buck grinned, sliding the ring onto his hand.
“Ya know baby, I’m starting to get convinced you’re gonna propose to me with a ring made out of paper.”
“Maybe,” he winked.
When they arrived home, the house was still quiet. Christopher was at school for another two hours and even though there was still a mountain of laundry waiting for them in the living room, he lured Buck to bed.
They were laying together, sweaty and sated, his hand running through Buck’s curls when he caught a glimpse of the paper still on his hand. It was crumpled from their activities but still mostly intact. He slipped it off and held it in front of Buck’s face.
“You kept this on the whole time?” Buck chuckled.
“I kind of forgot about it. I’ve just gotten used to them now. It’s comfortable, having it on.”
Buck grabbed his hand and kissed his finger where the ring had been sitting, “One day I’m gonna put a real ring on your hand.”
Eddie thought of the text he’d gotten from the jeweler earlier that day, telling him that Buck’s ring was ready and waiting for him to pick up.
Not if I beat you to it.
+1
He hadn’t really meant to tell May about his plans for proposing. He wasn’t hiding it from his friends and family, but May hadn’t been the first person he thought of. However, she had a habit of seeing right through him. He wasn’t supposed to even see her before the dinner they had planned at Bobby and Athena’s place, but Buck had asked him to stop by dispatch on his way home and grab something he’d left in Maddie’s apartment a few nights ago when he’d gone over to have drinks with his sister.
Maddie had been on a call when he walked in, so Josh had sent him to wait for her in the break room, telling him he’d send her his way when she was done. He was settled at the table on his phone, grinning uncontrollably at a picture Buck had sent him of himself and Chris at the school carnival the night before, when May came in, two cups of coffee in her hand.
“Hey Eddie, what are you doing here? You’re not leaving the 118 again right?”
“No definitely not,” he laughed. “Buck and Bobby would be having a race to see who could kill me first.”
“Good.”
“I’m just here to see Maddie really quick. Buck left something at her house the other night.”
“Why did your face just do that?”
“Do what?”
“The thing it just did?”
“What thing May?”
“Your face did a weird thing when you said Buck’s name. And you were grinning like an idiot when I came in here. So I ask again, what’s going on with your face?”
“Okay look,” he turned his chair to face her completely. “If I tell you, you have to promise me you won’t rat me out. No one knows yet but,” he reached into his pocket and pulled out the ring box. “I’m gonna ask Buck to marry me tonight at the party.”
“Oh my God Eddie!”
“Shh,” he smacked her arm lightly. “Keep your voice down. I only told your mom and
Bobby but no one else. Maddie can’t find out because she’ll blab to Buck and ruin the surprise.”
“My lips are sealed,” she said resolutely, making a show of zipping her finger across her mouth. “The ring is amazing by the way.”
“I just picked it up this morning. I hope he likes it.”
He tilts the box, letting the light glint off of the band. It was relatively simple, smooth black titanium with a small stripe of gold through the middle. The meaningful part was on the inside, carefully engraved in Eddie’s own handwriting I’ve got your back, and his initials scratched next to it.
“He’s gonna love it. But what are all of those pieces of paper in the box?”
“Oh those,” he lifted one, straightening it out so May could see the real shape. “After you made us listen to that insufferable Taylor Swift song all last summer, Buck started making me rings out of straw wrappers every time we went out. I saved them all and I just thought it would be cute.”
“That's adorable,” she sighed. “And that song is good, you love it don’t even try to lie to me.”
“Whatever you say.”
He snapped the box shut and tucked it safely back into his pocket, moments before Maddie entered the room.
“Hey Eddie, sorry to keep you waiting,” she handed him the green thing she’d had slung across her shoulder. “Here’s Buck’s sweater, I washed it for him and everything.”
“Thanks, Maddie. I better get home, he’s probably getting impatient wondering where I am.”
“Have a good day Eddie. I’ll see you tonight.”
“See ya. Bye May.”
“Bye Eddie.”
He, Buck, and Chris spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning the house and getting around to the chores that they’d slacked on during the week. With an hour until the start of the party, Buck sent Christopher off to get himself ready with instructions to yell if he needed anything, and herded Eddie into their room to get ready themselves.
Eddie stood behind Buck, wrapping his arms around his waist and pressing a soft kiss to the back of his head as Buck stood in front of their closet, trying to decide what to wear.
“Wear this,” he said, reaching around to pull the newly returned green sweater off the hanger. He turned Buck around and held it up to his chest. “It does good things for your eyes.”
Buck blushed and slipped it over his head, tucking the front ever so slightly into his jeans. Eddie pulled out his own black button-down and rolled up the sleeves, distracting Buck with his perfect arm as he sat on the bed and attempted to focus on tying his shoes. One entirely too short make-out session (interrupted only by their son yelling that they were going to be late) later, they were parking their truck outside of Bobby and Athena’s house.
Eddie felt like the ring was burning a hole in his pocket as he sat through an hour of drinks and small talk before dinner. When everyone’s plates were clear and they were lounging around the table letting their food settle before they indulged in dessert, Eddie raised an eyebrow at Athena from across the room.
Is it time?
She gave him a slight nod, barely noticeable to those around them.
It’s time.
He cleared his throat and stood up, catching everyone’s attention, including his soon-to-be fiance.
“Buck can you come here please,” he asked holding out a hand.
Buck stood and pressed into his side, letting Eddie wrap a gentle arm around his waist.
“I think I can speak for both of us when I say that Buck and I are so thankful for the love and support you’ve given us over the past few years. I know it wasn’t easy, especially when we had our heads in the sand-”
“Amen!” Chimney shouted, glaring at Maddie and Hen when they elbowed him in the sides.
“But,” he resumed with a chuckle. “We got there in the end. Y’all are family, so it only felt right to do this here.”
He pulled away from Buck, fishing the ring from his pocket and dropping to one knee.
“Evan Buckley,” he ignored the squeals around them, focusing only on his favorite pair of eyes. “Will you marry me?”
“Yes,” he choked out with a sob.
He stood and pulled Buck into a fierce kiss, one rivaled only by the day they got their heads screwed on right and finally made it official. Their family was clapping and cheering, Ravi and Albert whistling at them.
When Buck finally pulled away, Eddie took his hand and slipped the ring on his finger. He looked down at it, moving his wrist to see it from all angles.
“It’s beautiful Eddie. But what’s all this paper?” he asked, plucking one from the box still cradled in Eddie’s hand.
“What do you think?”
He watched Buck study it for a minute before the realization dawned.
“These are all the paper rings I gave you. You saved them?”
“I saved them all Evan.”
“I love you so damn much,” Buck hugged him, tears returning at full force and wetting the collar of his shirt.
“I love you more Evan Buckley.”
“It’s gonna be Evan Diaz soon.”
“Damn right.”
Somewhere off to the side, there was the soft sound of a phone connecting to the speaker and after a moment of silence, the opening sounds of that damn Taylor Swift song.
“May!” they shouted in unison.
The only response was her laugh. He hated the stupid song, but he still dragged Buck out into the yard for the worst dance ever, totally absorbed by his fiance. They let May have her moment. Besides, the song was just too damn perfect.

i’d like an romantic matchup please, i’m an girl and i use any pronouns. i’m bi and i have an preference for guys. anddd i’m seventeen.
i’d say i’m pretty chill and friendly, i do try my best to be kind and considerate to others, even when it means i have to hold back a lot. i like to keep situations light hearted and playful, and i’m not one to pick fights or arguments. my friends describe me as someone who’s an “good kid you can trust.” i’m very affectionate to my close friends, and i love to tease them as well. i can forget easily, and can be a bit clumsy, but i would say i’m observant when it comes to having one on one conversations with people. my mbti is infj!!
i loveee to read and journal. like seriously, buy me an book or an journal to write in and i’ll love you forever. i also like to stargaze, learn new things, bake, and draw.
i’d say my type is someone who’s respectful, loyal, considerate, understanding, and observant. i also would like if they’re playful/teasing as well!!
my love language (receiving) is words of affirmation or acts of service. on the giving end, physical touch or acts of service.
but yeah that’s pretty much it? thank you sm and i hope you have an great day!!
I believe Akaashi would be a good match for you!
HOW YOU MET
It’s a Saturday, which is one of the busier days at the coffee shop you work at.  You just got done with your break when you come out of the break room and toward the front to see the place is packed.  You had no clue what event was happening near there.  All you knew was you wished it wasn’t happening while you were working.
It’s louder than it usually is, even with this many people, and that’s when you spot a group of guys all wearing sports jackets.  They’re too far to know exactly what’s on them, but you know that one of them is the loudest one in the place.  He has spikey white and black hair, and you start preparing yourself to take his order when he gets to the front.  You notice the pretty guy with black hair that’s next to the loud guy.  Seems like a classic extrovert and introvert dynamic when you notice he has his hands behind his back.
You start taking orders, slightly forgetting about the sports team.  Sure, sometimes you had to ask people to repeat what they said, but it wasn’t a big deal.  When the team gets to the front, you realize there’s only six of them.  You could’ve sworn there were like 10 or more because of the volume.
The pretty guy motions for everyone else to leave with his phone.  The loud guy doesn’t seem to like the idea. “But Akaashi!”
“Bokuto-san, please go sit down,” the pretty guy—Akaashi, you assume, said.  Bokuto pouted but listened anyway, and Akaashi faced you with a small smile. “I apologize.  He and my teammates can be a little loud sometimes.”
“It’s okay,” you said, and it really was.  You had prepared yourself to take Bokuto’s order, no matter how loud he ended up giving it. “What can I get for you today?”
Akaashi looked down at his phone and started reading off the orders you assume were for his teammates.  He makes the ordering process extremely easy with his concise instructions.  He closed his phone and looked up at you.
“Will that be it for today?” you asked.
“He’ll also take your number,” a voice said, and you looked over to find a teammate next to Akaashi.  This one had dirty-blonde hair, and you hadn’t noticed him earlier.
“Excuse me?” you asked, more surprised than anything.  This was the first time anyone had said that to you.
“Konoha-san,” Akaashi said, and he made it sound like a warning.  Akaashi looked at you. “I’m sorry.  I don’t know why he said that.”
Konoha had an annoyed look when his eyes went to Akaashi.  You looked behind them at the line of people waiting to order.
“Your total is going to be 3000 yen,” you said, and Akaashi pulled out 5,000 yen and handed it to you.  You heard Konoha say something to Akaashi but weren’t sure what as you got Akaashi’s change.  When you looked up, it was just Akaashi there looking extremely embarrassed. “Here’s your change.”
“I’m so sorry,” Akaashi said, and he seemed genuine.  You hadn’t met a lot of guys that actually seemed genuine. “It was inappropriate of him to say that.”
“It’s okay,” you said, and he took his change. “I do suggest trying to get a girl’s number when it isn’t packed and you’re not with all your teammates.”
Akaashi froze for a moment as he stared at the change in his hands.  All that was heard was Bokuto laughing and lots of people talking. “What if I came tomorrow?”
“What?” you asked, and he looked up at you.
“What if I came tomorrow?  Alone.  Would I have a chance at getting your number, then?” He asked, and he turned his head slightly to see the line behind him.  His eyes widened as he turned back to you. “I’m so sorry.  I hadn’t realized how long the line was.  I’ll just go.”
“I work 11 to 2 tomorrow,” you said, and he blinked several times. “Come by then.”
He slowly nodded. “Okay.  I will.” He started walking out of line and turned to the person behind him, a regular whose favorite library was around the corner. “I’m so sorry for making you wait.”
The regular shrugged. “I don’t mind.  It was wonderful entertainment.  Now, L/N-san, can I get my usual?  I’ve got a study group in 20 minutes.”
HEADCANONS
Akaashi buys you things to annotate books with, even though he hates that you do it.  He’s a book purist and a little too proud of it.
You exchange books to read.  He shares his favorite book and you share yours, and then you both discuss them when you’re done.
When reading a book you loaned him, he’ll sometimes annotate it.  Everything he annotates are answers or reactions to your annotations.
Akaashi likes to walk home with you after school, even though you go to different schools.
When you’re having a rough day, Akaashi always knows what to say and will do what he needs to in order to comfort you.
Don’t ever worry about forgetting something when it comes to Akaashi because he will gently remind you if needed.
He is so gentle with you and wants to spend as much time as he possibly can with you.
Sure, you’re the one that works at a coffee shop, but he knows your drink order.  Never makes a comment on your order, even if it isn’t his favorite thing.  He just buys it for you.
He’d totally buy you one of those journals that’s like “1000 writing prompts” and expects you to read what you write to him (if you’re comfortable, of course).
TROPE
Coffee Shop & Flower Shop AU
This doesn’t come from your meeting but from the thought of Akaashi working in the flower shop after writing you working in a coffee shop.
Flower shop is right across the street from the coffee shop you work at.  You see Akaashi through the window all the time.  The coffee shop always buys flowers from the flower shop to make the place look better and to help out other businesses, and it’s your first time ever getting to go pick up the order.  Well, pick up is one way to put it.  You and Akaashi have to carry things over to the coffee shop.  It’s nice to talk to him and you become the person who must get the flowers (Akaashi requested it to be you but no one has told you that).  You find it’s easy to be around yourself with Akaashi, which leads to feelings and then hopeless pining that your coworkers want to strangle you over.  Also, 100% the “guy fell first and harder” trope can be in here because he literally requested you be the person to help him.
RUNNERUP: Sakusa!
I hope you like this! I had a lot of fun with this one. Have a good day!

Genshin x fem!reader [Volleyball Team AU - Inspired by Haikyuu!] He introduces S/O to the team
Before you read this, might be a good idea to read the introduction first. To give you the whole low-down of the team and their dynamicsssss.
Other works in the Volleyball Team AU Series: Click Here
Scenario: You and him have been dating for a while now. Why does the team not know and what’s their reaction in finding out/when he introduces you?
Warnings: AU if that’s not your thing then don’t read, not proofread...as usual.
#1 Zhongli (Captain/Wing Spiker/Ace)
You’ve been dating for nearly 5 months at this point. Beforehand the two of you were close friends. So the team kind of already knew you guys were close, but you’d never met the team properly.
It’s not that he was HIDING your relationship, its that he didn’t want to pressure you into meeting his team. They could really be an overwhelming bunch of high schoolers sometimes.
As it happens he walks to the gym hand in hand with you one day, his other hand on his duffel sports bag, thinking that he’d be the earliest one there as always.
But when he slides the gym doors open his WHOLE TEAM greets him “CAPTAIN!” and then there’s an awkward silence that descends as they all catch him with his hand intertwined with yours.
KAEYA AND TARTAGLIA LOSES IT. “C-Captain, you had a girlfriend and didn’t tell us?!” “You finally made a move on her?!” “S’about time!”
Needless to say they both get knocked on the head by Zhongli’s fist.
Zhongli sighs and turns to you apologetically but you say that you don’t mind meeting them. He perks up and claps his hands to ask his team to line up.
They do so diligently. Kaeya, Tartaglia and Thoma are giddy while looking at you. Xiao and Kazuha have their mouth slightly agape as if you’re some kind of rare species. Diluc and Albedo stare you down.
You introduce yourself as Zhongli’s gilrfriend and as you do so Tartaglia’s eyes dart towards Zhongli who has a slightly shy expression on his face.
“Oh, oh question time!” Thoma raises his hand “Does the captain secretly eat sweets behind our back?” You haven’t even answered when Kaeya asks “Does the captain ever glare at you (he mimics Zhongli’s face) and say 10 Push ups NOW!” Surprisingly Diluc raises his hand too “...Is the captain strict with you too?”
Zhongli gets irked the more questions are asked and he finally steps in with an ominous presence. “10 laps around the gym...NOW!”
He apologizes to you again but you reassure him it’s totally fine and they all seem like such fun.
#2 Diluc (Vice Captain/Wing Spiker/Defense Specialist)
The vice captain is a very secretive guy.
Not even his brother knew.
It’s not that he was ashamed of you, he just liked his privacy and you already knew that.
But there was this one time where he forgot his textbooks under his desk and you had to go and give it to him while he was at practice.
Shyly looking into the door the first one that spots you is Albedo.
“...Do you need something?” you tense up at Albedo’s question and shakily hand him the textbooks.
“U-Uhm... D-Diluc’s...”
Albedo tilts his head and turns to shout at the team. “Someone’s looking for the vice captain,”
Everyone stops what they’re doing and snaps there head towards you.
Diluc jogs over, sweat still fresh on his forehead. Without thinking he takes the books from you, small smile on his face and thanks you.
The rest of his team freezes up all thinking: “Hold on, is he...SMILING?”
You’re oblivious to them staring and give him a quick kiss on the cheek before leaving. When Diluc turns back his team is glaring daggers at him, he stares back at them. Doesn’t say anything, and continues practice.
No one is brave enough to ask him about it.
Tartaglia whispers to Kaeya “You didn’t know about it either huh?”
#3 Kaeya (Middle Blocker)
This MF would talk about you whenever he had the chance.
Y/N this, Y/N that, Y/N is so cute.
Frankly the team is kinda tired of it.
But when you finally visit one of their practices the team levels their gaze at you and think “Oh shit, he wasn’t lying, she is actually cute,”
Sees his teammates expression and brags even more. “I know what y’all are thinking. You’re thinking, OH! She’s actually really cute! Hm?”
Slings an arm around you shamelessly with a grin. “Back off boys, I’ll block all your attempts,”
Diluc is the one that walks up to you and you blink at him. Kaeya blinks at him, confused as well.
Diluc suddenly bows, “I feel sorry for you but please take care of him,”
The rest of the team either bursts out laughing or snickers behind their hand.
Their vice captain is low key savage
#4 Albedo (Setter)
The team finds out about you cause when they finish practice they find you waiting outside the gym.
Kazuha asks politely while the others look on “Are you lost?”
You straighten up and stutter a little, “Ah, uh, no, I’m...” You’re at a loss for words.
Then Albedo suddenly appears from the gym doors and sees you. “Ah, were you waiting long? Sorry,”
Thoma tilts his head in question. “Albedo...Your sister?”
Albedo at this point was standing next to you already. “...No, my girlfriend,” like it was the most normal thing in the world.
Everyone is stunned into statues.
“H-How did you get one before me?” Tartaglia looks as if his soul had been sucked out of his body.
“Next time you can just come inside and wait inside the gym, it’s dark out here,” their responsible captain suggests and you’re amazed at his kindness and bow at him with a thank you.
Albedo doesn’t see what’s the big deal and just grabs your hand and starts walking away.
#5 Tartaglia (Middle Blocker/Wing Spiker)
The team already knew since the first date. It’s because he.would.not.shut.up.about.it
That particular day at practice his spikes were a tad bit stronger than usual.
“Oi... you’re getting too excited...” Xiao mumbles at him. Tartaglia just grins and scratches the back of his head. “Aaaahhhh... I can’t help it, I’m so nervous for my date with Y/N!”
A few more dates later he starts showing off his phone wallpaper to the others. It’s a picture of you and him.
Kaeya tries to piss him off by saying, “Huh, we’ve never actually seen her in person. Maybe it’s photoshopped,” The others snicker.
Is so pissed, asks you to come immediately.
You thought it was an emergency so you come into the gym with a worried look on your face only to be hugged tight into his chest. “See? See? She’s totally real and totally cute!”
Albedo crosses his arms and blinks, then looks at Kaeya “...You totally baited him, he’s such a simpleton.”
Kaeya responds with a smirk “Right?”
#6 Kazuha (Decoy/Middle Blocker/Wing Spiker)
The most formal out of all of them and even tells them seriously that he had an announcement to make.
Next day he comes into practice with you in tow.
Properly introduces you as his girlfriend.
Everyone is wide-eyed at how official it feels. Then you suddenly take out a big container of fruits and tell everyone it’s for them (The captain doesn’t allow sweets, he thinks it’ll fatten them up or some crap.)
EVERYONE IS BLESSED BY YOUR PRESENCE and Kazuha is just enjoying you getting along with them.
Kaeya and Tartaglia try to whisper and bribe you into making cookies for them.
Albedo and Xiao stares at Kazuha thinking ‘If someone like you can get a girlfriend, we can get one too, right?’
You offer to come back next time with more fruits and some secret cookies.
#7 Xiao (Libero)
Tried to keep it a secret because he knows his team will make a fuss about it.
The team finds out when his phone suddenly starts ringing in the middle of practice and he asks for a timeout to pick it up.
“Mm... Yeah... I’ll pick you up when I finish,” Everyone starts nudging each other when they hear him talk to you in an unusually calm and soft tone. So different from when he plays volleyball and gets angry at them.
By this point everyone tries to keep quiet and enlarge their ears to eavesdrop.
“Idiot... I won’t be late. I promised to take you out didn’t I?”
Hearing their tsundere libero say something so sweet makes everyone combust.
When he turns back everyone is staring at him with smirks on their faces. “Hey, why not just ask her to come here?” Kaeya sneakily suggests.
Xiao blushes “A-As if I’d let her near you bumbling fools!”
He was worried it would scare you away, actually.
#8 Tohma (Pinch Server/Middle Blocker)
Literally no one is surprised he has a girlfriend.
It would be MORE of a surprise if he DIDN’T have one.
But they find out cause he left his phone out on the bench one day and there’d been a text message while Xiao was conveniently sitting on the bench.
“...Tohma, someone me--” Xiao looks at the screen where the message ‘I love you!’ is clearly written.
Xiao is so curious but is not gunna admit it so he nudges Kaeya or Tartaglia who might be sitting next to him and secretly motions over to the phone.
They read it and ask in a real loud voice “Oi Tohma! Who’s Y/N? They said I love you!”
Tohma laughs nervously and since it’s already out he might as well introduce you.
“This is my princess,” he says when you enter the gym to walk home with him that afternoon. You bow and introduce yourself and everyone looks at you thinking... “Ah, they look like the perfect domestic couple,”
Low-key everyone is jealous of how you dote on him.

HALF TIME HAD FINALLY BEGAN all the players from each team had went to hydrate and talk amongst themselves, (y/n) watched clay's cocky smirk form on his face as the other cheerleaders on her cheer squad surrounded that gorgeous bastard, and showered him with compliments about how good he looked or how well he played.
she hated everything about him, the way he obnoxiously flirted with every girl to ever enter the school's front doors, hell he's even tried on multiple teachers. he made her skin crawl but yet, he was unimaginably attractive. clay's green eyes gazed pasted the heads of the girls in front of him, the smirk on his face grew as his eyes raked down (y/n)'s a beautiful figure in her uniform that fit her body perfectly, her hips and tits on full display only covered by the short skirt and tight top.
once their eyes met the cheerleader was quick to break eye contact praying he didn't get the wrong idea, but his long legs carried him quickly to where she was leaning against the metal pole holding up the stands, "staring isn't very nice y'know" she hated the way he spoke and the effect he had on her.
"why don't you go fuck yourself" she more-so told him then asked, "oh come on.." he trailed off a faux pout pulling at his lips that (y/n) rolled her eyes at.
"why don't you and i take a trip to the locker rooms, hm?" he asked. something that damn near no one knew, was the fact that they had gotten together at clay's friend karl's house, in his bed, but they never talked about it, and if niki, one of (y/n)'s close friends, were to bring it up, (y/n) would say it was some mistake, but she never forgot the things clay made her feel that night, maybe it was the adrenaline she was feeling that made her overly sensitive, but he was.. different.
her eyebrows raised and her thighs clenched at the memory, "what are you thinking about?" clay asked his voice huskier than before. he placed his index finger under her chin, making her look him in the eyes. how the hell are you supposed to tell someone you're daydreaming about the sex you had with them, maybe if he wasn't so full of himself now, she would've told him, but no.
"thinking about how you're on my last nerve" she snapped putting on her best angry look, as if she wasn't soaked from his voice and her thoughts alone, pulling her head away from him quickly. "feisty... i like it" he tutted running his thumb over her bottom lip. he pulled her into him by her waist, "come on, you had fun last time.." he continued, he wasn't wrong but, (y/n) would never admit that.
his lips met hers as shock crossed her brain, but when his teeth sunk into her bottom lip and slipped his tongue inside her mouth, she moaned, as if there were parents and their peer's siblings just above them on the bleachers, but that didn't matter at the time. their mouths slotted together euphorically, teeth and tongue clashing.
clay's muscular thigh lifted to meet her pussy that was covered by a thin, skimpy pair of panties and short spandex, and he pressed into it so she could feel him through the clothing.
(y/n) quietly protested when his lips left her own, "come on" he mumbled pulling her behind him to what looked to be the boys' locker room, "i can't go in there" she stopped in her tracks, standing just outside the door, clay rolled his eyes and grabbed her wrist pulling her in.
"as if you coming in the locker room's a big deal. no one's here to snitch and no one will find out" he mumbled like they weren't about to have sex where any of his teammates or coaches could walk in.
he pushed her up against the cold lockers, the cold metal and clay's mouth back on hers sent chills up her whole body. god, the thought of someone walking into his hands gliding down her body, and gripping her ass under the inappropriately short skirt, made her brain fog.
(y/n) reached down and tugged the clothing on her lower half off, leaving a pair of black panties thin enough to not see through the spandex that pooled at her ankles that she had on only so no one could see what she didn't want them to.
they pulled away from each other, clay palmed his erection through his pants, (y/n) grabbed him by his shirt, and pulled him back into her by his shoulder pads, "are these staying on?" she asked quietly and clay nodded in response, they only had around fifteen minutes left of their thirty
the football player's hands trailed from where they sat on her waist, to her throat, he wrapped them tight but not too tight, just enough so she could breathe, "what do you want me to do" clay teased, he knew what she wanted, but he wasn't going to just fuck her, he wanted her to beg.
"fuck you, i'm not doing it." (y/n) said, it's almost like she could read his mind if she did beg he would brag about it for the remainder of the time they fucked around together.
"oh.. okay" he replied nonchalantly pulling away from where he had her pressed against the lockers, and heading towards the door, "wait, clay!" she walked quickly after him, grabbing his wrist pulling him into her.
their chest colliding just before she reached up and pulled his head- more specifically his left ear, whispering, "clay, please fuck me~" she moaned loudly and obnoxiously squeaky into it and he almost lost it.
his hands that were at his side, came back to her waist and her throat, "listen, we both know how much of a slut for me you are, and don't pretend any different, got it?" he asked his tone was serious and that's what made it even hotter, c'mon if a greek god were to be in your face telling you how much of a slut you were, how would you act?
she hummed, acknowledging what he said. his grip on her throat tightened ever so slightly, "words, whore" he hummed his calloused hand left her hip and trailed teasingly down her thigh, and slapping it roughly.
"yes," she gasped when his hand met her flesh soothing the stop he hit, "i'm.. a slut for you" her hands met his broad shoulders, her nails digging into the clothing that covered them.
a deep grunt left his agape mouth, and he pulled the top off the cheer uniform up enough to expose her tits to him. his mouth as quick to attach to the left one, her hands tangled in his dusty, blond locks, when his teeth barely grazed over her nipple, her breath caught in her throat and her hands tugged at his hair.
(y/n)'s head tipped back and met the lockers, with a so much force a small clang bounced off the walls of the large room, "careful doll, don't wanna hurt that pretty little head of yours." clay spoke up his mouth releasing her breast with an audible 'pop'.
his hands reached to pull the pants from upon his hips, but before he did, he glanced up at (y/n) for permission, she nodded with a dopey smile on her face. the bare minimum just hits different when he's with her.
"ya'sure you wanna do this?" he asked, he didn't want to force her into anything she was uncomfortable with, i'm sure if she had an issue she would've said or done something sooner, but just in case she didn't.
"m'sure" she mumbled out, her dainty, slender fingers tugged at his hair again trying her best to make him hurry and fuck her before time ran out, to say she was eager would be an understatement.
clay laughed at her neediness, "for someone who hates me, you sure don't act like it. all needy for me, hm?" he was so painfully conceited he knew how hot he was and he knew how to treat someone mentally and physically.
the pants he wore for the game, were quick to be tugged down his hips, and his boxers as well, fully exposing himself to (y/n) and anyone who could walk in at any time.
he wrapped his hands around his cock, stroking it slowly almost like he was teasing himself, a grunt passed his lips and his hips pressed more into his hand, though (y/n) didn't want him to get to into it and grabbed his wrist causing his hand to almost halt and his eyes locked with (y/n)'s.
"use me not your hand, please" she cooed under her breath wiggling in his tight hold. he laughed once again at her neediness.
"you want me to fuck you? use you like a toy?" teasing, teasing, and more teasing, he enjoyed watching her struggle and rub aimlessly against him, it was hot to him at least.
she continued nodding, like that was the only thing she could do, "please. pl-please" the high-pitched moan that followed her stumbled words made clay almost want to edge her until she was crying in his arms, but then he remembered the time crunch.
he grabbed her chin making eye contact with her as he rubbed his cock against her slit trying his best to get a reaction and pushed slowly into her.
"clay~ hngg" she moaned, her plan to keep at least a little bit quiet was crushed when he slowly started thrusting into her, his pace speeding every time he pushed back in
his thumb rubbed against her bottom lip, opening her mouth slightly, clays brows raised expectantly waiting for her to open it the rest of the way, when she did, the spit that pooled on his tongue transferred to hers, "swallow it, bitch" he spoke through gritted teeth.
his cock nudged that spot deep inside her, and her back arched from the locker and her moans stuttered, "right there- fuck!" (y/n) gasped as her legs wrapped impossibly tighter around his hips pulling him closer, just to make him hit it again.
his thrusts were almost animalistic at this point, and the words that streamed from (y/n)'s gorgeous lips were echoed throughout the room, her mind ran so fast she could barely keep up, maybe this is why they called him dream, ‘cause fuck was this is like a erotic fantasy. it was almost embarrassing how fast he could make her cum.
her brain became more foggy than when this started, her thigh started to quiver ever so slightly, “you g’na come?” clay taunted, his hips slowing. she didn’t even reply her legs wrapped tighter around his hips, pulling him into her, as she ground herself against his cock.
her velvety walls enveloped around him tightly, pulling a strangled gasp from clay, his left hand reached to tug the ends of her hair exposing her neck to him. his lips attached to her neck, “no marks, someone’ll see” (y/n) mumbled threading her fingers through his hair.
“ ‘ts baffling how you think i give a fuck.” he muttered continuing his harsh thrusts and his mouth sucking red marks that would be soon become a deep purple color. (y/n)’s vision blurred slightly and she swore she could see stars, the ahegao-like expression present on her features reminded clay of the hentai he’d seen that sapnap had sent him, drool dripped from her tongue and down her chin, like a child.
a white ring could be seen every time clay pulled out to thrust back in, he fucked her through her orgasm, attempting to chase his that was so close he could practically taste it, his hips stuttered and his pace slowed quite a bit.
his body slumped against hers, and his head fell into her shoulder as he breathed in the overly expensive perfume and matching lotion she wore all the time, it was her go, kind of fruity and coconut-y, not too sweet but sweet enough to get the point across.
the afterglow they were basking in was cut short by the banging on the door from someone, “clay? are you in there” what sounded like clay’s good friend alex on the other side of the door, “yeah, i’ll be out in a sec” he yelled back pushing off of where he was leaning against (y/n).
a dopey smile pulled at her lips as she pulled her skirt up from on the floor, "what's so fuckin' funny?" clay asked with his brows furrowed. "nothing, just had sex with a hot guy in his locker room at a football game" she mumbled pulling her top over her boobs and walking past him making sure their shoulders brushed when she did. clay stared at the door, dumbfounded, she just walked away as if he didn't just ruin her, if she didn't feel it now she definitely would later.

sakusa's first blowjob, part 1/3
synopsis: sakusa wants to take the next step in your relationship. who are you to deny him of such a request?
warnings: handjobs, blowjobs, cursing, minors do not interact.
sakusa likes to believe that he’s a confident person. he dominates the court, confidence oozing out of him in just about all he does, but he’s never given much thought to his physical attraction. sakusa gazes at himself in the mirror, gently batting a stray curl from his face.
suddenly, he doesn’t like his appearance so much.
what kind of guys did you like? should he cut his hair? straighten it? maybe he should dress differently than usual today? do you even like him to begin with?
six months. you've been together for six months and not once has he asked you to engage in anything remotely sexual. according to his teammates, that isn't normal. apparently, he's supposed to have fucked you a million different ways by now, ruining your ability to walk for days at a time.
what if you want that? is he failing as a partner?
his frown deepens. it's not that he does't want to have sex with you, it's just that, well,
he's kinda scared.
what if he's bad at sex? what if he isn't big enough? what if he can't make you finish?
he sighs, no longer wanting to look at his reflection or think these thoughts. shoving his phone into his pocket, grabbing this keys and wallet, he heads out of his dorm room to the other side of campus.
the walk to your campus apartment is uneventful, but he feels stressed nonetheless. stopping by the mini-mart to buy you some snacks, his mind wanders once again.
i shouldn't rush this, he thinks, we can take baby steps. start with some smaller stuff and work your way up to the big event. a plan, yes, a plan is what he needed.
thanking the cashier, he checks out and heads your way, suddenly feeling inspired. he checks his phone to see the time, changing his direction to your apartment.
upon his arrival, he raises a fist, giving three light raps to your door.
"it's open!" your voice calls, muffled through the thickness of the wood. he opens the door, stepping into the gentle air conditioning of your place.
"it's me."
"oh! kiyoomi, hi!" you walk over to him, kissing him on the cheek, "i wasn't expecting to see you today."
he frowns, "you need to lock your door, then. what if it wasn't me coming to visit you?" your eyes lock on the grocery bag he's carrying.
"yes. lock the door." you reach out to grab it.
"i'm serious, y/n. you need to be more careful," sakusa pulls it away from your reach. you groan.
"okay, okay, i'll be more careful. happy?"
"mm, give me another kiss and i'll think about it."
you make a show of rolling your eyes, leaning up to give him a quick peck to his lips. he smiles when you snatch the bag out of his hands, walking towards the kitchen to put the snacks away. he awkwardly follows you, wordlessly putting the goodies when they're supposed to go.
"so what's up with you? you're acting weird, did something happen?" your small hands dig through one of the bags, latching onto one of the candies he bought you.
"i just wanted to see you, believe it or not."
"that sounds even more suspicious," you begin, tearing apart the twisters he brought for you, "are you sure that's all?"
"yeah, i-" he eyes scan over your appearance, the old shorts you're wearing are suddenly looking very sexy. he wonders if you think the same way of him, "i just missed you, is all."
you take a bite of 3 twizlers at a time, hoisting yourself up to sit on the counter space by the stovetop, "you're lying. c'mon, be real with me, oomi."
he scowls, moving from his position in the kitchen to where you sit. sakusa stands above you, towering over you even while perched on the counter. he kisses your forehead, placing his calloused hands on the plush of your thighs. you know him so well. patiently, you wait for his response, chewing happily. sakusa fiddles with your skin, feeling very bashful in your presence. he thinks back to the thoughts he had earlier; he should communicate with you and tell you how he feels.
"i was wondering if you wanted to take our relationship to the next level."
"what do you mean?" you still nibble on the twizlers, finishing the last one in a single bite.
"like..." he wraps his finger around the stray thread on your shorts, "...if you want to have sex. and stuff." he cringes at the words coming out of his mouth.
"and stuff?" you giggle, poking his cheek.
"sorry, that sounded weird. it's just... we've been together for a while and we've never really talked about this kinda stuff. i know you're more... experienced than me and i don't want to disappoint you."
you reach out to stroke his face, palms resting just under his jawline. you smile when he leans into your touch, "no, no, never. i'm sorry if i made it seem like i didn't want to have sex with you, oomi. i thought i was respecting your boundaries, is all. losing your virginity can be a big deal, and i didn't want to pressure you into something you weren't ready for. i'll wait for you, though, for whenever you are ready," his skin feels soft under your thumb, a sad expression on your face.
"i-i think i'm ready, but..." he feels his blush deepen further, realizing how vulnerable he felt in the moment, "... but maybe not for everything, a-at least not right now. i think we should take baby steps."
"baby steps?" you softly smile.
"yeah, like the smaller stuff so we can get comfortable with each other before we do the big stuff."
"like?"
"like... we can, uhm, touch each other," god, this feels embarrassing to say out-loud, "and do things with our hands and mouths," your fingers comb through the thin hairs at the base of his neck; sakusa feels like he's floating. you feel so soft.
"touch each each other?" you lightly push him off of you, sliding down from the countertop. still maintaining eye contact, you slowly move to pull your hair into a high ponytail, "i mean... there's no time like the present, right?"
sakusa feels an inkling on where you're going with this, and plays into your advances, not wanting to come off as desperate, "i- yes, but, no. i mean, not if you don't want to. me personally, i-" his throat closes up when he feels your soft hands run over the waistband of his sweatpants.
you sink down to your knees, batting your lashes up at him, "are you sure, kiyoomi? we don't have to do anything, you know."
"please, yes," his voice squeaks when you run your palm over the print in his sweats, "this is fine. "i-it's okay. i like when you touch me."
you smile at him, your grip on him getting tighter. sakusa has to stifle a whine the threatens to spill out of his lips. playfully, you tug down the front of his sweats, lightly running a finger over his dick, feeling his erection strain against his boxers, "baby steps, huh? i'll take things slow then, just for you."
finally pulling down his boxers, you mentally celebrate at the sight before you. his dick stands hard against his toned abdomen, a pearly bead of pre-cum bubbles at his tip.
you take him into your hands, running your index finger across his slit, collecting the pre that's accumulated during the time you've been teasing him. he feels so embarrassed; you hadn't even begun to do anything, yet he's fully erect, dribbling pre-cum. he wants to cover his face, but kiyoomi can't seem to pull his eyes away from you.
you pull your hand back, spitting in it, and grabbing the base of his dick, building a languid, slow pace that knocks the wind from his chest. holy shit, he thinks, this is really happening. he has to remind himself to breathe when you focus your hand movements to his tip, maneuvering your hand in circular motions and rolling your wrist to keep the fluidity. your other hand finally comes up, moving to quickly pump the rest of him.
"o-oh, fuck," sakusa has to grip the counter, thighs shaking, "holy shit, that feels good," his voice cracks, but he can't bring himself to care, throwing his head back and releasing a series of moans.
"can i use my mouth?" you sweetly ask, now solely stroking his shaft, leaving the tip alone as to not deliver too much stimulation at once.
"mm, ye-yeah," sakusa squeezes his eyes tightly at the thought, "yeah, go for it. please."
you stop your movements and sakusa forces himself to choke down a whine. he's breathing heavy, eyes still shut because he knows that opening them will bring him to an orgasm. the vulgarity of the situation makes his dick twitch in your hands.
lowering his head, he finally opens his eyes, feeling blessed by the sight he sees. your pretty mink lashes make you look like an angel, your small hands wrapped around such an intimate area, fingers just barely touching. your eyes carry so much weight behind them; promises of what you want to do to him, the millions of ways you'll make him yours. gently, he brings a hand up to your head, thumbing the hair of your ponytail.
"look at me, kiyoomi," you voice sultry, yet demanding, and sakusa can't help but listen to you, pupils blown wide.
you lick his slit, dragging your heavy tongue across one of his most sensitive areas, your right hand moves to deliver long strokes. not wanting to make him wait any longer, you put your lips around him completely, hollowing your cheeks as you take him as far as you can go, the fine hairs of his pelvis tickling your face. relaxing your throat muscles, you swallow around him, once, twice, constricting his dick with the smooth muscles of your throat.
"oh my god, baby, just like that," you feel the hand on your ponytail tighten, but kiyoomi doesn't force you down, "yeah, yeah, fuck, you're so good to me, shit," he moans through the pleasure.
seeking oxygen, you come up for air, the wetness from your saliva giving you the slickness to jerk him at a faster pace, your grip on him tightening. his stomach clenches as he fights back an orgasm, mind clouded with thoughts of you.
diving back in, you bob your head up and down his length, your hands working what doesn't fit into your mouth. sakusa's hands fly up to grab the counter, his knees threatening to buckle.
"s-shit, y/n, ah, fuck," he groans over the sounds of slick, "i-i think i'm gonna cum, y/n. wait, i'm gonna cum."
you move your head back, opening your mouth right below his tip, sticking your tongue out flat; a silent invitation to cum in your mouth. your right hand stays where it is, speeding up the pace of your strokes, your left hand moves back, massaging his balls between your fingers. sakusa's face is beet red, your generosity getting the best of him. throwing his head back, he groans loudly, stomach tensing as white ropes of cum paint your face and tongue.
"o-ooh, fu-u-ck!"
you deliver tightened, heavy strokes, slowing your movements to not overstimulate him, milking him of everything he's worth. looking down at you with lidded eyes, even kiyoomi is surprised at how much he came. semen is sprawled from your chin to your cheekbones, the whiteness of himself stands out against the pink of your tongue, thick cum pooling down your fingers and forearm, almost reaching your elbow.
grateful that he's an athlete, you swallow everything he gave you, enjoying the delicate taste. tucking him back into his clothes, he helps you stand from your position on the floor. you notice a sheen a sweat on his hairline.
"god is a woman and her name is y/n. i think you took my soul."
you laugh, he smiles, "you almost got cum in my eye, you know."
sakusa's ears turn red, suddenly worried about your comfort, "sorry, you made it pretty difficult to focus," using his thumb, he swipes the cum that missed your mouth, collecting it on his finger and holding it in from of your mouth. moaning softly when you shift forward to suck away the cum, he brings his free hand to pull you in by the waist, "thank you, y/n, seriously. let me return the favor, yeah?" bringing his face closer to yours, he slips his tongue past your lips, tasting himself through a deep kiss. his hand rises to caress the side of your face, tilting his head for a better angle.
"i blow you once and now you think you can handle me?" you mumble against his lips, "you aren't ready for it," you tease, your words making his body feel hot. he is ready; he's been ready, sakusa thinks, but waiting for the right moment makes it that much sweeter. patting your ass, he pecks your lips once more for good measure. oh, that reminds him.
"i wanted to talk to you about that, actually." you shoot him a questioning look, maneuvering around him to wash your hands.
"yeah, what's up?"
"i have a plan."
"a plan? for what?"
"for how we're gonna have sex."
you grimace, "gross, don't plan it out! that's what old people do!"
"stop," he whines, "i thought really long about it. i just need to ask you a few questions."
"okay, okay," you dry your hands with paper towel, using the wetness of the paper to wipe away any sticky spots still on your face, "what do you need to know?" he walks closer to the calendar you have on the wall in the kitchen area, whipping out his phone to compare dates, you assume.
"are you free next weekend?" you think for a moment.
"yeah, i think so, but i have a baby shower at 10."
"who throws a baby shower at 10 in the morning?"
"that's what i said! she really thought that it would be a good i-"
"wait, don't get side tracked. i still have more questions."
"kiyoomi, what are you even planning to do?"
"well, i cant show you all the cards in my hand! i just need you to answer the questions."
"okay, damn! ask away then." he taps through his phone.
"do you have a preferred place to have sex?"
"uhm, not really? just not in a car or shower, at least not for the first time." he types frantically.
"okay, next question. what are your thoughts on pubic hair?"
"kiyoomi!" you laugh, "what the hell?"
"i need to know! it's for science!"
"jesus, man. i guess, it doesn't really matter? it's natural, so who cares? as long as i'm not flossing with your pubes while i go down on you, i have no issues."
"that's disgusting. you know i would never do that. i need a serious response, y/n."
"okay, okay fine!" you laugh, "not too much but also don't just have nothing. bald dick is weird."
he nods his head, considering your answer, he types into his phone, repeating your words aloud to himself, "okay, last question for now. would you prefer sex in the morning or the evening?"
"it depends on the day, but considering this would be out first time as a couple, i wouldn't want to ditch you to go to lab after we fuck. late afternoon to evening would be the best time i think." he's silent, walking over to the calendar once again.
"okay," he nods his head, squinting his eyes in thought, "okay, yeah this totally works."
"it does?"
"yes, everything is coming together."
"so can i expect to have my back blown out in the near future?"
"if by 'back blown out' you mean gently and passionately make love, then yes, expect it."
"great," you clap your hands together, "i look forward to it," your stomach growls, the angry rumble echoes throughout the kitchen."
"don't tell me those 3 twizlers is all you've had to eat today."
"no," you smile, a laugh threatening to rip from your chest before you even have the chance to finish your sentence, "i had your kids for lunch."
"y/n!" he gasps.
this is my first time writing smut, so please let me know what you think! leave a comment so i can improve; i plan to make this a series, so give me some criticism to improve the story <33 thank you for reading :)

SOMETIMES, THE AMOUNT OF HATRED YOU HAD FOR JEONG JAEHYUN AMAZED YOU.
To the average human being, Jeong Jaehyun was, in a sense, perfect. On the surface, he was everyone’s trademark Golden Boy—good grades, athletic, and a seemingly good personality. The last point, however, was a complete and utter lie. Simply put, Jaehyun was a wolf in sheep’s clothing, and you, unfortunately, wound up becoming his target.
If it weren’t for your love for cheerleading, you probably would never have to see Jaehyun, but your passion came with a price. Competitors were often asked a series of questions, and these questions typically included inquiring about your hardships as an athlete. If someone were to ask you what the hardest part of being a cheerleader was, your answer would not be what they expected.
It wasn’t getting back up after bad falls that left you with bruises and a concussion. It wasn’t dealing with the basketball team’s aftermath of a devastating loss and having to cheer them on through it. It wasn’t waking up extra early for morning practices, or having to push yourself to run miles in the sweltering heat. Hell, it wasn’t even dealing with the horny basketball team members at afterparties.
It was the annual training camp.
Every winter, the team attended a week-long training session along with several other teams in the city. With state-of-the-art facilities and a massive training center, the training camp was an event that the entire team looked forward to. Although the training was brutal, the luxury of the hotel rooms and the gourmet meals had made up for all of that. Yet, despite all of that, the camp itself was still hell for you.
It wasn’t all bad, though. In fact, you indulged in the concept of a training camp, delighted with the opportunity to meet cheerleaders from different universities. A handful of your friends from high school had joined teams at different universities, so it was exciting to get to see them all again. All in all, it was the whole package deal: friends, your favorite sport, and fun times. What could possibly ruin that?
Well, a certain someone by the name of Jeong Jaehyun could, and that wonderful individual incensed your fury quite like no other.
“You again,” you spat, clutching your duffel bag strap. You had just gotten off the bus to head into the hotel, but the devil himself was blocking your way.
“Y/N,” the devil cooed, “do you need help carrying that?”
“I’m fine.”
You shrugged Jaehyun off and tried to move past him, but the bane of your existence had other plans. He tossed you a small carton of milk; it was the kind you could buy at a vending machine. Your reflexes kicked in just in time for you to catch it, giving him a questioning look.
“You should be drinking more milk, Y/N. It’s good for you,” Jaehyun said. You were sure he was going to make a snide comment so you opened your mouth to protest, but he continued, “Jaemin likes big tits, you know?”
Ouch.
You and Jaehyun went farther back than you’d like to admit. While you did currently attend different universities, you had the joyous experience of going to the same high school as him. He wasn’t too different now; he had the same dimpled smile, the same godly features, and the same cocky smirk when things were going the way he planned. What was different was that you two were once friends.
And what took the cake? You had a big crush on his friend and fellow teammate. Introducing Na Jaemin, everyone.
It wasn’t like you never got over Jaemin, but you had to admit that your heart still fluttered pitifully whenever you saw him. It didn’t help that he was so breathtakingly beautiful, so undeniably genuine, and such a sweetheart. Unfortunately, Jaehyun knew of your little secret. Being the conniving little snake he was, he used it to his advantage.
Ever since your fallout with him in your senior year of high school, you’ve hated Jeong Jaehyun, and you were sure he hated you right back. It almost felt akin to the competition at this point, and you were a pretty sore loser. Honestly, you were sad initially when he broke off your friendship in senior year and threw crude insults at you. You normally didn’t let things get to you, but it hurt to hear that your best friend didn’t want anything to do with you after you had told him you were going to a different university. You were sure the both of you had grown past that, but now he had changed from a sincere highschooler to a complete low-life piece of shit.
“You’re a douche, Jaehyun,” you sneered.
A grin spread across his face. “Yeah, I know.”
You scoffed. “God, if I could, I would smash that pretty face into—”
“Hey!” a loud voice laced with trepidation interjected. It was your best friend on your school’s basketball team, Mark Lee, coming to your rescue; or, rather, he was trying to prevent you from doing something you’d most probably regret. He shot Jaehyun a warning look and slung an arm around your shoulders. “Y/N, what’re you doing here? We have to check into our hotel rooms.”
You looked back at Jaehyun to see a smug look on his face before he turned to catch up to Taeyong and Jaemin. You looked back up at Mark, who was also keeping an eye out for the demon in disguise.
“Thanks for getting me out of that mess,” you mumbled. “That guy is so infuriating. I can’t believe he still brings up Jaemin when I’m clearly over him!”
Your words were sharp enough that Mark and the people around you flinched, even if they weren’t completely paying attention to your rant. It was common knowledge that Jaehyun’s presence left you in low spirits, and Mark had come to terms that you would always be in a bitter mood during the training camp, and that there was only one person to blame for it.
Mark shot you a sympathetic look that you knew was intended to show his helpfulness, but instead just served to make you appear all the more bitter.
“Why don’t you just ignore him?” he suggested. “He’s just looking for a reaction out of you.”
“If I let him get the last word, then he wins.”
“At least he’d stop bothering you,” Mark reasoned as you both made your way to where your team had gathered by the reception desk.
“Is this about Jaehyun again?” Zhong Chenle chimed in, a devilish grin plastered across his face. “You’re a handful, Y/N.”
“Hey! What’s that supposed to mean?” you snapped.
Chenle just stared at you, arching a brow as if the answer should have been obvious. “You and Jaehyun,” he said, “there’s some tension there.”
“Wow, Sherlock Holmes. Observant, aren’t you?” you spat, words dripping with sarcasm. “We’ve hated each other for years. Of course there’s tension.”
Johnny Suh snorted, averting his gaze as to not bring attention to himself. Chenle rolled his eyes, a delighted smile on his face as he watched you carefully, digging into his bag of chips in the meantime.
“Y/N, I think he means a different kind of tension,” Mark said.
“What kind of tension?” you asked, shocking the rest of them with your surprisingly innocent response. In retrospect, it was more because you couldn’t imagine the answer being anything past the realm of hatred.
While they all hesitated to respond, Johnny spoke up, “He meant the ‘I wanna beat you up and then have rough sex with you’ kind of tension.”
You immediately froze—long enough for Chenle to take a picture of your reaction—the expression on your face a cross between incredulity and visceral rage. You must have looked like a ticking time bomb because Mark had to take a cautious step back.
“Come again? Rough sex?” You were well aware of how strangled and pitched your voice sounded as soon as it escaped your lips, how guilty it sounded, but you couldn’t focus on that as the weight of Johnny’s words were sinking in. “Jaehyun and I?”
“Yeah, pretty much,” Johnny answered.
“That’s a lie.”
“Yeah? Then why do you two always look at each other so weird?”
You didn’t know how to defend yourself now so you just said, “He’s a bastard and I would never see him in any other way.”
“You say that now but we all know—”
“Alright, let’s drop it,” Mark said, trying to defuse the situation before you blew it up into an argument. “I would rather go rest in my hotel room rather than bear witness to a homicide.”
“Fine, fine,” Johnny relented.
You scoffed and jabbed at his foot with yours before letting the topic go. Your squabbles with them were all in good nature, but this one somehow put you off. It was like Johnny had planted the seeds and were waiting for them to grow. You were starting to mull over every interaction you’ve had with Jeong Jaehyun.
Johnny and Chenle had made a startlingly accurate observation. You and Jaehyun did look at each other for a little too long sometimes, nearly to the point where it seemed like you were basking in the attention of the other—
No fucking way.
You were not going down that path. There was nothing more to your relationship with Jeong Jaehyun than pure hatred and resentment. He was a douchebag who was intent on making you feel like shit. His only motive was to start shit again between you and Jaemin, who you would’ve completely forgotten by now if it weren’t for him.
No way. There was absolutely no undercurrent of desire that was creeping its way to be uncovered.
Or was there? a small, treacherous part of your mind offered.
You were lost in your thoughts as the coaches handed you your room key, as you waited for your roommate who was some girl named Eunha from the other school, as you made your way to your room on the fifth floor.
The only thing you could think about were those long stares, those mesmerizing eyes, and the implication behind them. You always attributed it to Jaehyun being a hormonal teenage boy, but you had to admit that you’ve seen him look at you with some semblance of lust. Perhaps that same feeling was buried far in the depths of your consciousness, too.
Could you possibly be attracted to the devil incarnate, Jeong Jaehyun?
No, you argued with yourself, and shit, even your frontal lobe sounded pretty unconvinced. He’s a petty bastard and that’s all he’ll ever be.
You instilled the mantra of you and Jaehyun being sworn enemies in your head, but you couldn’t help the fact that it was peppered by the memories of an irritatingly familiar smirk. You scowled, willing your head to get rid of all-things-Jeong-Jaehyun, but he was right there.
Literally.
He was standing right in front of you.
“Hey, neighbor,” he teased, all too satisfied with the horrified look on your face. “Guess you can’t get rid of me.”
Tumblr media
You were falling when you jolted awake.
A groan tore its way past your lips. You made sure you didn’t disrupt Eunha’s sleep before you recounted your dream. It had been a while since you’ve had one, and realization was morphing into shame when you realized what kind of dream it was. You’ve never had a wet dream before but what made you want to astral project yourself into oblivion was when you realized that Jaehyun caused it.
After tossing and turning for a couple of minutes in a desperate attempt for sleep to overcome you once more, you came to terms with the fact that you were staying awake for now. Staying awake was worse, though, because there was no way you could keep the intruding thoughts at bay. Not with the way Jeong Jaehyun kept flashing behind your eyelids, at least.
You considered how to spend the rest of your night, surveying your options as you stared up at the ceiling:
Watch season three of Riverdale on Netflix so you could make fun of it.
Attempt to sleep, but with little success because there was no way you were going back to bed after that dream.
Count the slacks of the window’s blinds even though it would be pointless because what the fuck were you going to do with that information?
It was truly astounding how interesting your life was.
You couldn’t think clearly with Eunha’s soft snoring, so you grabbed your keys and pushed the door open carefully to keep it from squealing. After your delicate movements to escape your room quietly, you leaned against the wall and let out a sigh of relief. You weren’t too keen on someone scolding you in the middle of the night for being outside, but you needed to clear your head somewhere. You packed for weather that was balmy, but the air conditioner carried a bite to it that made you wish you hadn’t just worn shorts and a tank top to bed.
You could practically hear Mark mocking you if he were here: Are you in the right headspace, Y/N?
You shook your head, getting your provoking best friend out of there, but instead, you found yourself wandering into dangerous territory again.
Johnny and Chenle were parroting the same words over and over again in your head. You wished you could use your metaphysical hands in your head and squeeze the life out of them, but they always flew out of your grasp. You clicked your tongue absentmindedly, your annoyance rehashing itself as your mind gravitated back to Jeong Jaehyun with his stupid smirk and annoyingly persistent cockiness. It was almost pitiful that you hated his guts and yet you couldn’t deny the magnetism he carried, the pull that made your breath hitch when he met your eyes.
His presence was announced by the change in the air more than anything else. You didn’t have to see him to know he was there. You clenched your jaw; you couldn’t catch a break from him even during the ungodly hours of the night.
He was unavoidable.
He hummed with amusement. “Look who’s here.”
“What are you doing up this late? Go to bed.”
You didn’t even bother to look at him because there was one thing you were sure of and it was that you could not look at his sickeningly attractive face right now. Jaehyun didn’t move, blatantly ignoring your order. The tension was so thick that you wanted to storm away, but you knew he would follow you just to piss you off.
“I couldn’t sleep,” he said. “You should be the one resting up. You cheerleaders always train until you’re near death.”
“Can’t sleep,” was your curt response.
He laughed once, a short sound that was pretty much gone the moment it hit your eardrums. “What? You get nightmares or something?”
“So what if I do?” you retaliated, getting oddly defensive. It was a given that you’d lie about getting a nightmare over a wet dream. “It’s none of your business.”
He laughed again but this time it was lower, more dangerous. “It’s my business when it concerns you.”
“I have and will never be your business, Jeong Jaehyun.”
He leaned against the wall. “I beg to differ.”
“Then keep begging.”
“If you say so.”
“Jaehyun,” you interrupted your own banter. “What’s the point of this conversation? Just go back to your room so we can go back to not talking to each other.”
“I’m good, thanks.”
“That’s unfortunate,” you said. “I don’t want to talk to you, so go find someone who does.”
“We don’t have to talk.” Suddenly, his voice sounded closer, and you forced your gaze down at the strangely-patterned hotel carpet.
You swallowed thickly. “I’m here to clear my head. I don’t want you to hover around me for the rest of the night.”
“Actually, I had something else in mind.”
He closed in on you, one of his hands skimming up the soft skin of your arm. A shudder ran down your spine as you felt his fingers travel up to your shoulder, your collarbone, and then the side of your neck. With a swift movement, he caged you in his arms, biceps flexing as he did.
What was going on? You couldn’t quite keep up with the situation but the way Jaehyun was looking down at you made you feel hot. It was exactly like your dream—
“Holy fuck, Jaehyun.”
You couldn’t stop the words from escaping your lips when you felt his hot breath on your neck. Your head went fuzzy and you were pretty sure your knees were ready to buckle under you. The corner of Jaehyun’s lip lifted into a smirk as if he had been planning this. You mustered a scowl at him but one thing was clear: you screwed yourself over by getting into this situation.
Damn it. You knew you should’ve watched season three of Riverdale instead
Also, Chenle and Johnny were right. Not that you’d ever tell them that; put simply, you were a sore loser.
Lust was swimming in Jaehyun’s eyes. The way he caged you felt predatory, a show of dominance rather than passion. That smirk of his carved in deeper, and it only pissed you off. Yet, as much as it pissed you off, all you wanted him to do was just ruin you.
Your pride was too strong, though, and you concluded that you would rather stick a fork in your eye than let Jaehyun do what he wanted. This sparked a dilemma in your head: to fuck or not to fuck Jaehyun, that was the question. One sounded like a pretty uneventful night, while the other sounded appealing save for the self-loathing you’d experience afterward.
“You want me, Y/N,” he cooed. “I know you do.”
“I hate you.”
“Trust me, I know.”
“I mean it, Jaehyun,” you hissed. Your head was screaming at you to just go with it, but denying Jaehyun’s advances and provokes was just natural instinct to you. “I don’t want you. Stop lying to yourself.”
“Is that so? I think you’re the liar here,” he replied easily as you dodged his attempt to kiss you.
You pushed at his muscular arm but he didn’t budge. For a moment, you strongly considered just dropping to the ground and crawling out from under his legs, but you were done for. Seconds later, Jaehyun’s hand flew up, long fingers digging into the soft flesh of your face as he forced your chin upward to look at him directly. The lust in his eyes was so clear, so alluring, and it made you stop struggling for a second.
“I’m not going to ask you again. Let go of me.”
“Good, it’s a waste of breath.”
“Has anyone ever told you how infuriating you are?”
“You did. Many times.”
“Just fuck off already.”
Your words were like poison, but for some odd reason, Jaehyun was immune to it. Any reasonable person would at least flinch, but Jaehyun was so fixated on his one goal. Again, he didn’t budge. He gazed into your eyes with a fierce intensity that threw you off.
“Just let me fucking kiss you, Y/N.”
His smirk was gone. He wasn’t teasing you anymore. Jaehyun’s eyes darkened with his command.
He leaned in and you could feel his hot breath fanning your lips, drinking in your appearance. You were pulled into his trap and you hated yourself for it. You swallowed hard as all of your worries about being with Jaehyun and getting caught had started to fade away. All you could do was yield to him.
“Fine,” you whispered.
“Good girl,” was all he got out before basically smashing your lips together.
It was rushed, messy, and way too rough. Jaehyun grabbed the back of your neck, his other arm still locking you in place. Your hands moved from gripping at the front of his shirt to slowly wrapping around his neck. You weren’t sure how you felt, but there was something that made you want to tangle your fingers in his hair and get lost in him.
The moment Jaehyun’s tongue slid along the crease of your lips, you were conflicted. You weren’t exactly sure what to do so he took the reins. You wondered if he was expressing his pent-up hatred as well. It was clear in the way he was taking prying your mouth open with his tongue, snaking his hot muscle to dance with yours as if he had something to prove. He wanted you to see that he was the dominant one, that he had leverage over the situation.
But when he broke away, he flipped the switch. The both of you were left catching your breath, Jaehyun resting his forehead against yours in a feeling that had a weird sort of intimacy stemming from it. His hand dropped from your neck to brush messy locks of hair behind your shoulders.
Well, that explained why humans were so tempted by the devil.
“That wasn’t so bad, was it?” Jaehyun grinned down at you.
You fought down the shyness that was creeping into your chest. Before you could respond, the both of you turned your heads at the sound of footsteps. A flashlight glimpsed by you when you saw two dark figures at the end of the hall. It didn’t sound like your coach, but you weren’t too keen on sticking around to figure out who it was.
“Son, how in the world did you get locked out of your room this late?” one of them asked.
“I’m telling you, I needed to use the bathroom so I went outside without my key, and then I remembered the bathroom was in the room.”
That voice was most definitely Mark.
“Hey!” the security guard scolded when he saw you two. “What are you kids doing? It’s late!”
“You’re on your own.” You pushed Jaehyun away from you and fumbled for your keys before Mark or the security guard could spot you. “Bye.”
You jammed your key in, not worried about waking up your roommate anymore. All you could hear was Jaehyun growling out a short string of curses before you shut the door behind him and leaned against it. Your head was still reeling in what had just happened, but that kiss had left you in the clouds. You could feel the ghost of his lips on yours. Dazed, you just fell onto your bed, into the entrancing clutches of sleep.
Tumblr media
You were exhausted when you woke up, and you blamed Jaehyun for it.
You weren’t in the proper condition for training; you hadn’t gotten enough sleep and your head was a mess (well, you supposed you were the only one to blame for the latter). You forgot to set your alarm so you woke up to Eunha shaking you gently, coaxing you into stirring. She was already dressed, tying her hair up in a ponytail. You all but jumped out of bed when you saw her, thinking you were late.
“What time is it?” you asked groggily, rubbing the sleep from your eyes as you stood up and tried to adjust to the morning light.
“You’ve still got plenty of time,” she assured you. “I just like to get ready early so I can go for a quick run.”
“Ah, okay. Have fun,” you mumbled before she left the room, leaving you to drag yourself around the room to get ready. You heard a knock at the door and went to open it, assuming it was Eunha forgetting her keys. Your eyes narrowed when you saw who it was. “Jaehyun?”
“I couldn’t stop thinking about you.” His voice was somewhere between a pant and a rasp as if he had been working out, which he probably was judging by the sheen of sweat on his biceps.
“Were you waiting for Eunha to leave?” you asked. “You’re disgusting. Why would you think about me?”
“I was thinking about how much of a bitch you are for running away and letting me get in trouble like that.”
“Pity.” You mocked a pout for him. “Now move. I have to get ready.”
“Let me in.”
You made a face at the thought. You knew where he was going with this and you needed to stop it. “No. You’re disgusting.”
“You liked it last night.”
His eyes searched yours in the dim light, looking for something that unfortunately was there: longing. You were never the greatest at hiding your emotions, which was why you couldn’t lie to yourself and refuse Jaehyun. Screw your transparency. Jaehyun grinned at your silence and took a step in your room when you opened your door wider for him.
You closed the door. “I hated every second of it,” you said in a childish attempt to get on his nerves.
You were a terrible liar.
Your back was against the door in a second. You could only let out a soft gasp before he kissed you, hands on your waist, slowing his movements unlike the hurriedness from last night. It was foreign, the way he kissed you like you were the only girl he saw. You pulled away quickly but it just left the both of you staring at each other’s lips.
“You sure about that?” His lips curled into a smirk.
“Don’t get me wrong,” you warned in a low voice, “I still hate your guts.”
“As I’m reminded of every single time I see you,” he returned coolly.
“Fuck off.”
This time, you pulled him down to kiss him again. You fisted your hand into his hair, tugging at his dark locks as your lips moved smoothly against his. Caught off guard, Jaehyun groaned, low and deep against your lips.
The two of you separated again before Jaehyun said, “See? I know you want me. Only I can make you feel this good, Y/N.”
You scoffed. “We’ll see about that.”
Jaehyun’s eyes darkened at the challenge. To prove his point, he pushed his knee up and between your legs, pressing against your clothed cunt. A gasp escaped your lips, the fingers curled in his hair instinctively tightening. You bit your lip but to no avail; a whimper escaped your lips as soon as he started pulsing his knee against you. You grabbed onto his shoulders for leverage, burying your face into his chest while bunching up the thin fabric of his shirt.
You wanted to hold back your moans because you were adamant about not giving Jeong Jaehyun the satisfaction of hearing you moan. Instead, you shifted your hips so that the pressure of his knee became more intense. Sparks flew behind your eyelids as he bounced his knee under you.
He finally released the tight grip he had on your waist in favor of palming one of your breasts, squeezing it firmly through your shirt and bra. All the while, he continued ramming his knee against the apex of your legs. He kept his eyes on yours and you scowled at the thought of him getting off on seeing you crumble in front of him. But you couldn’t stop yourself. He wanted to completely and utterly ruin you, wanted to fuck you in and shut you up.
The worst part was that you wanted to let him.
“You’re so cute when you’re like this,” he mused, slowly rubbing his knee in circles against you. “God, you’re still wearing that fucking tank top.”
“You’re such a—ah!”
He groped your chest again, thumb pressing down on your nipple. Another whimper escaped you as Jaehyun grazed his lips down your neck, nipping at the supple skin. You only got louder as the kisses turned into bites.
He ignored you and removed his hand. Instead, he tugged the neckline of your tank top down, delighted at the loose straps sliding down your shoulders. He yanked it down to your waist so you were exposed to him, and you swore you heard his breath hitch. Jaehyun pinched your nipple with two fingers, drawing out a moan that drove him crazy. He buried his face into your neck, sucking and making you quiver under him.
“Didn’t you say I had small tits earlier?” you jeered, a teasing lilt to your tone.
“Yeah, I still stand by that,” he replied, resulting in you punching his shoulder.
“Asshole.”
“Hey, I never said it wasn’t cute.”
“You’re such a softie,” you grumbled, but your voice was gentler than before. It was almost like you were warming up to Jeong Jaehyun, and you hated the mere thought of that.
Jaehyun pulled away from your neck. “Y/N, I want you to suck me off,” he demanded.
“I refuse.”
“Be a good girl and do it for me.”
You swore you’d go crazy if he called you ‘good girl’ one more time. You were pretty revolted at the thought of sucking his dick, but the way he looked so fragile under your hold made you want to do it for the power rush. It was like some cheap porno in a way; ‘College Jock Gets Sucked Off By Cheerleader.’ You bet half the members on the team beat their meat to something similar to that.
Your shoulders sagged. “Fine. Get on the bed.”
Jaehyun groaned at your approval. “Thank you, thank you, thank you,” he said, letting go of you to pull down his sweats on his way to your bed. He sat at the edge of it, tugging the elastic of his boxers down. You swallowed hard, tugging your tank top back up as you stared at his painfully hard erection springing out.
You got on your knees in front of him, lips parted in anticipation of taking in his length. Your hair fell over your face, which Jaehyun took notice of and held it back in a fist. Taking a deep breath, you wrapped your hand around his cock. It was rock solid to the touch and twitched at your grip. Glancing up at an eager Jaehyun, you pumped the length of it once, inciting a groan from him.
You wrapped your lips around the head of his cock, rousing a strangled noise from his throat. He looked down at you through half-lidded eyes, messy strands of your hair tangling in his fingers while his other hand was gripping the stiff hotel sheets. Then, you took him in fully at his encouragement (which was more of him just grabbing the back of your head and pushing it down on his cock).
“Shit,” he breathed out before slowly moving his hips in and out of your mouth. It was like iron wrapped around velvet, and he was relishing how hot your mouth felt.
He pushed your head down further and right as you gagged on his length, there was a knock at the door.
“Y/N!” Mark’s voice sounded from the other side. “Are you coming for breakfast?”
You pulled off of him with a pop, a string of saliva dripping off your lips. Your eyes were wide as you lunged for your phone, checking the texts. Meanwhile, Jaehyun just frowned down at you, looking up at the ceiling with a frustrated sigh.
“Holy fuck,” you muttered when you looked at the time. You called out to Mark, “Give me a minute!”
“Perfect,” Jaehyun said in a low voice and held the back of your head, attempting to push you down on him. “We can finish up now.”
“Are you an idiot?” you hissed, swatting at his hand. “I have to get out of here before Mark finds out you’re in here.”
Ignoring your state of panic, Jaehyun said, “You look so hot with drool on your chin.”
That was the most disgusting thing you had ever heard, and if it weren’t for Mark being on the other side of the door where you and Jaehyun were screwing around, you would have beat the living daylights out of him. Only a creep like Jeong Jaehyun could find something like drool sexy. You scowled at him and wiped it off with the back of your hand.
“Put your dick away,” you scolded. “Hide in the closet and you can leave when I’m gone.”
He rolled his eyes at you and stood up, making his way to the bathroom. “I need to get rid of the problem you caused.”
You had no time to complain about him jerking off in your bathroom. Mark was not a very patient man, so as soon as Jaehyun closed the door behind him, you stripped off your pajamas and threw on whatever was at the top of your suitcase. You brushed your teeth at the speed of light, using your other hand to brush down your hair. After you laced up your shoes, you opened the door to Mark looking at you suspiciously.
“You’re never late,” he pointed out.
“I couldn’t sleep last night,” you said. In your defense, it wasn’t a complete lie.
“Oh, by the way,” Mark started, “can I use your bathroom real quick?”
“No!” you exclaimed, pushing him away from your room and in the direction of the elevator. “My roommate, um, is… on her period—yeah, you don’t want to see that mess.”
Another reason why you hated Jeong Jaehyun was for giving you reasons to lie when you were a terrible liar.
Tumblr media
Training was long and grueling. Your bones were mush and your muscles ached, pins and needles shooting through you every time you moved. As your teammates dragged you to get dinner with them, you couldn’t even resist because you were so drained.
The one thing you loved about training was that you could wear whatever you wanted, whereas you were confined to tight skirts and crop tops at your university. Now, you could rest in whatever position you wanted without worrying about exposing anything, so you didn’t hesitate to manspread as soon as you got to the cafeteria table.
“Did you guys hear about Jaehyun from the other school?” one of the girls gossiped. “Looks like he was fooling around with someone last night.”
You were grounded back into reality from whatever dimension you were floating about in. Your teammates were perplexed as you choked on air, hitting your chest to stop yourself from coughing. You were handed a glass of water, which you gingerly accepted and drank until your body had calmed down.
“Ah, sorry, Y/N,” your teammate apologized. “I forgot you and Jaehyun have bad blood between you.”
“You’re good,” you told her, waving it off. “I was surprised for a second, but I guess it makes sense for a guy like him to go around hooking up.” Then, silence fell. You were confused as they all looked at you with a puzzled look. “What? Am I stereotyping too harshly? My bad.”
“No, it’s not that,” another chimed in. “A lot of girls go around hitting on him, but Jaehyun never lays a hand on them. I thought it was common knowledge that he doesn’t do that sort of stuff, but I guess it makes sense that you don’t care about the details.”
That was news to you.
“Yeah,” you replied distantly. “I don’t care.”
So Jaehyun doesn’t hook up, was what you happened to hear around the grapevine, and he most definitely doesn’t hook up with his enemies.
You stood up in the middle of your dinner. “I gotta go,” you said. “I’ll see you girls tomorrow.”
You actually weren’t very sure where Jaehyun was, but you figured if you walked around enough, you’d run into him or someone from his team. You headed out of the canteen and walked to the basketball courts, expecting to see him dribbling a bar or doing reps. But the first person you saw was Na Jaemin, and he noticed you immediately, eyes sparkling with recognition.
“Y/N!” he greeted cheerfully. “It’s been so long.”
That infectious smile of his was plastered across his face, making a small one creep to your lips. If Jaehyun smiled like that more, then you could understand his charm, but he was always so moody around you. He either did something to get on your nerves or he would just flat-out ignore you. Furthermore, he always riled you up instead of offering you that warm security that Jaemin emanated—
Wait, why were you comparing him to Jaehyun?
“Sorry,” you apologized meekly. “Am I interrupting your practice time?”
“No, it’s cool. We were just messing around in here,” Jaemin replied. “Are you looking for someone?”
You looked into Jaemin’s eyes and your thoughts slowed. He made you feel safe, warm, but that was all; there was no fire, no rage, no heat. It was just a shallow attraction that fizzled out, leaving you neither satisfied nor dissatisfied. And you clawed at your brain as you wondered what you were getting at, but you knew. You knew it was all going back to Jaehyun.
And it pissed you off.
“I was looking for Jaehyun,” you said, “if he happened to be in here.”
“He told me he was going for a swim,” Jaemin said, and that was all you needed.
Before Jaemin could respond, you thanked him and turned on your heel. The pool was in a separate building, and there was no training that even required swimming, so it made no sense for Jaehyun to be there. You let out a frustrated sigh. Even when he wasn’t doing anything in particular to annoy you, it still managed to anger you.
You weren’t going to let Jaehyun do what he wanted this time. This was merely for interrogation—your own personal gain. Then, you thought it over some more, and you reasonably concluded that there was a 97.5% chance that you would not lay a finger on him, but there was a 2.5% chance you’d cave.
When you got to the facility where the pool was, you were entranced by the renovation at first. The pool was massive and the equipment was lined up so neatly along the walls. You peered through the glass to see the pool completely empty save for Jaehyun in the hot tub.
He met your eyes while you opened the door to the pool. His eyebrow arched at your entrance but a smirk settled on his lips as you neared him. You tried to push down your lust; you were not letting him get to you again. You crouched down by the side of the pool and Jaehyun moved so he was facing you, holding onto the edge of the hot tub.
“What brings you here?’ he asked, playfully flicking some water in your direction.
You flinched and scrunched up your nose at his action. “I heard you don’t do hookups.”
“You heard correctly.”
“So what am I?”
“You’re Y/N.”
You were a coward. Admittedly, you had probably always been running away from your own problems, deflecting your feelings with unbridled hate that had no direction, no meaning. Underneath your blunt and fiery front was pure cowardice. Even now, you refused to admit anything to yourself.
You didn’t want to accept that maybe you actually liked Jeong Jaehyun.
Maybe you’ve always liked him.
“Don’t be stupid, Jaehyun,” you grumbled. “You’ve always hated me.”
“I think you just want to believe I hate you. Is that how you suppress your feelings?”
“How long have you liked me for, then? Days?”
“Years.”
You paused for a moment as you recounted your interactions with Jaehyun. It was true that he never explicitly said he hated you and that you always started the arguments, but he was the one who broke off your friendship. Why would he do that if he didn’t hate you?
“You said you wanted nothing to do with me, Jaehyun,” you said in a smaller voice, fist balling at your side.
“You were going to a different university.” He ran a hand through his damp hair, and although you were angry, it was difficult not to enjoy the view. “Plus, you just kept going on and on about Jaemin, and I couldn’t even shut that mouth of yours up back then.”
“So you cut me off?”
“I felt like I was being petty, so I tried to apologize but you blocked my number and wouldn’t let me come near you,” Jaehyun deadpanned. He reached forward and grabbed your wrists, pulling you closer to him. You teetered on the balls of your feet, swallowing hard. “Forgive me?”
“No.”
Jaehyun rose up a little so he was eye-to-eye with you. He smiled at your flustered expression and cupped your cheek with his wet hand. Every muscle in your body was telling you to pull away but you couldn’t. Not when his lips were so close, when his eyes were boring into yours.
“Forgive me,” he repeated in a gentler tone, but it became more of an order than a question.
“Make me,” you whispered and Jaehyun groaned, somewhat helplessly.
“You’re going to be the death of me, I swear.”
You opened your mouth to say something more, but you couldn’t even form your words as Jaehyun yanked you forward and sealed your lips with a kiss. Before, you had the sense to try and push him away, but now you were held captive. He slid his tongue past your lips and you let out an appreciative whimper, hand sliding into his wet hair. You tugged at his hair and this time, Jaehyun was the one to react.
He pulled away for a moment to catch his breath, eyes clouding over with lust. “Get in with me,” he said, voice rumbling. You shivered as he dragged his lips down to your jaw; you could feel his voice reverberate down your spine and to your feet.
“What if someone walks in?” you asked in a daze.
“There’s no use for the swim facility, so no one’s going to walk in on us,” he persuaded. “Come in.”
Water dripped from his neck, landing on your thigh. You took in a sharp breath as his hand tugged at your waist. While the pleading look on his face was priceless, you couldn’t even ridicule him because you were at your limit, too. You let out an irritated sigh when you realized you gave into that 2.5% of you caving.
You responded by pulling off your shirt, tossing it to the side where Jaehyun had left his shoes and towel. Jaehyun watched you as you fiddled with the clamp of your bra. Meanwhile, his hands went to the waistband of your sweats, making you shudder as he tugged them down at the sides. You raised your hips to help him get them off and, after removing your bra, you were only left in your underwear to protect you from his hungry gaze.
You weren’t the type to hook up with guys. Hell, you weren’t the type to even show a guy your ankle if he asked. You thought you’d feel insecure with Jaehyun eyeing you in your full glory, but there was none of that. You wanted to know why it was so different with him but maybe it was the way he looked at you like he just wanted to kiss you. Or maybe a tiny part of your heart always belonged to Jaehyun, and you couldn’t bury it anymore.
“You’re so gorgeous.”
He mumbled the words, barely audible, but they set you on fire. He pulled you down onto his lap like you were his anchor, and you were afraid you’d get swept with the current, but you let him. You’ve only ever kissed a few guys before, so you really had no idea what the fuck you were getting into. All you were sure about was that Jaehyun could make you feel good and you were having your first time in a hot tub. You only prayed that you wouldn’t pass out from the pleasure combined with the heat of the water.
“Is this your first time?” he asked, gliding his hands down your sides. You nodded. “Then I’ll be gentle.” Truly, you did find his gesture rather sweet, but it didn’t stop you from rolling your eyes. Jaheyun saw and narrowed his brows. “I don’t hate you, but you really piss me off sometimes.”
He kissed you again. It was more passionate this time, but also harsher and messier. You let out a sound that was something between a yelp and a moan, making Jaehyun move his hands to run down your bare back. Then, he planted his thumb on your clit and pressed down in a way that made a muscle in your thigh twitch. Your grip on his shoulders tightened; you weren’t expecting that. It felt different in the water, but somehow, you couldn’t get enough of it.
“You’re wet,” he mumbled against your lips as his fingers found purchase on your slit.
“We’re in the water, you idiot.”
Jaehyun scoffed. “You know what, Y/N, you’re right, I did hate you,” he spat, rubbing small circles around your clit now. You wrapped your arms around his shoulders to steady yourself, whimpering as his movements grew more intense. “I fucking hated how you looked at Jaemin with those love-struck eyes.”
There was a shift in his usual cocky expression. He turned focused and, to a degree, angry. It was the kind of look on his face you saw when he was on the basketball court or during a game.
“You’re the one who told me to go after him.”
Wrong choice of words. Jaehyun lifted you up and placed you on the edge of the pool, pushing a finger inside you with no warning. You gasped, your mouth open to ask him why he took you out of the water, but you already knew the answer; he wanted to feel you completely.
“R-right there,” you whimpered out as he pushed his finger deeper inside of you.
He started to curl his finger whenever he passed over your g-spot, and you had to close your eyes. Jaehyun pulled his finger out to marvel at the slick wetness that coated it. Your body tingled as he slid his finger inside you again. This time, he was teasing your slit with a second digit. Jaehyun had no delicacy, though, and he all but shoved in a second finger, causing you to cry out.
He didn’t even care. You opened your mouth to call him a bastard, but all that came out was a pitched moan that seemed to float up to the stars.
“I fucking hated,” he rasped as he pumped two fingers inside of you, “how you treated Jaemin like he was the only one in the world.”
“I don’t… like Jaemin,” you got out, each labored breath of yours fighting off another moan. “I’ve stopped liking Jaemin after high school.”
Jaehyun’s free hand went to your chest, cupping one of your breasts as he rubbed circles around your nipple. You bit down on the inside of your cheek, unable to contain yourself as the fingers on your clit got almost frantic in their place, and the fingers inside of you were pushing against your walls. You felt an unfamiliar cold fire that felt so fucking good, lighting you up and threatening to spill over. Your muscles clenched and spasmed around Jaehyun, and you weren’t even in the hot tub but you felt like you were sinking.
A high-pitched moan left your lips, leaving you hot with embarrassment because you didn’t know you could make a sound like that. You fell from your peak, relaxing in Jaehyun’s hold; it felt like you were floating amongst the clouds in an almost euphoric way.
“I don’t like Jaemin,” you breathed out, still winded from your orgasm, “you fucking idiot.”
“I know.” Jaehyun pulled his fingers out of you, eyes trained on you as he licked them slowly. The look on his face was more gentle now. With his free hand, he brushed loose strands of your hair out of your face. “You like me now.”
“No, I’ve loved you for a while now.” You didn’t know what possessed you to say what was on your mind, but it surprised you more than it surprised Jaehyun. “I didn’t realize it then but… I think I did.”
Love? Love?
You thought you knew what love was. Something that you felt in your bones, that burst within you instantly. Simple glances, thoughts, and daydreams—something gentle and fluffy, but also emotionally shattering. You thought it was tender smiles, kind words, and little gestures.
But maybe that was the kind of love that led to puffy eyes, tear-stained cheeks, and hoarse voices. The kind of love that was left fruitless with an empty gap in your chest.
Maybe this was different.
It was instinctive, the way you fell for him. Like an effortless intake of breath, you were in love before you even knew it. You always thought love was a monster. Ravaging, scraping, foul monsters with jaws so immeasurably large that they would have swallowed you whole. But maybe it wasn’t the tragedy you made it out to be.
With Jaehyun it was fierce and maddening and made you want to rip your hair out. It was a violent hurricane that you tried to brave your way through. But you were blind. You were already at the eye; you had always been at the center without realizing it. And, despite all the pointless arguments and name-calling, it was the most beautiful thing you had experienced.
Yeah, you liked him. You liked how you were around him, despite how much you complained about it to Mark. Part of you refused to admit it, but sometimes the bickering was fun. You realized that you never let go of Jaehyun before because you couldn’t. You simply didn’t want to be without him because Jeong Jaehyun drove a deeper passion within you.
Your rose-tinted loving moment was ruined as soon as a shit-eating grin spread across Jaehyun’s face.
“You love me.”
“I’ll kill you.”
“You love me,” Jaehyun echoed as if he was internalizing the information. “You love me.”
“I take it back,” you said flatly. “I hate you, I hate you, and I’ve always hated you.”
Jaehyun ignored your words, his cockiness morphing into adoration. “You actually love me back.” He cupped your face in his hands, eyes turning into little crescents as he smiled. “Even though I called you a cougar for liking a guy a year younger than you?”
“Yes.”
“Even though I made fun of you wearing a push-up bra in front of him?”
You clenched your jaw. “Yes.”
“Even though I asked Johnny about you and he told me that I still live in your mind, rent-free?”
“What? Johnny said that?” you exclaimed, eyes wide. You grimaced. Johnny would be dealt with later. You placed your hands on Jaehyun’s shoulders and made direct eye contact. “Look, Jaehyun—as much as it hurts me to say this and I’d rather tear out my vocal cords—I like you. I like you so much that I don’t care about the petty shit you pulled when I liked Jaemin because frankly, I don’t care about Jaemin anymore.”
“That was the hottest thing I’ve ever heard.”
You wanted to slap him.
“Are you just constantly horny?” you snapped. “I’m pouring out my feelings to you here!”
“I’m better at expressing my love through actions, not words,” Jaehyun explained. “Can I show you?”
“Is this another ploy to get in my pants?”
“No, I’m asking you out on a date,” he said. “Sneak out with me tonight. I want to explore the city with you.”
The offer was tempting. In fact, you found no reason to be opposed to the idea. After all, you were always down for an adventure in the city. Jaehyun being with you didn’t sound too bad either, especially when Seoul was so lively at night. Part of you wanted it purely to catch up on all the time you missed when you stopped being friends.
“Fine,” you agreed. “An hour after curfew.”
“Great.” Jaehyun flashed a grin that slowly curled into a smirk. “Now let me get in your pants.”
“Are you kidding?”
“Y/N, you see,” Jaehyun started, “I don’t hate you, but you’ve really pissed me off these past two years. We have all of this pent-up rage, so it’s only fair that we let it out on each other.” His grip on your hips tightened.
You loathed yourself for wanting him, and for putting aside the fear of being walked in on for him. You internally cringed at the thought of Mark accidentally bearing witness, and you weren’t sure you were willing to explain the situation to him just yet.
It was the price you paid for carnality, you supposed.
You sighed in a forced way so that you sounded reluctant and bored. Unfortunately, your plan backfired and you ended up feeling bad when a concerned look crossed Jaehyun’s face.
“If you’re worried about getting caught, I’ll just cover you,” Jaehyun mumbled, the softness of his voice almost putting you at ease.
You rolled your eyes. “How kind of you.” You paused and looked up at him. “Are we really going to have sex for the first time here?”
Jaehyun looked around him. “Well, I guess we could go to the hotel room if—”
“Nope!” you interrupted, wrapping your arms around his neck and drawing him closer to you. “Let’s do it here. I love the pool, love having sex at the pool.”
He rose a brow at you, hands making their way down your body. Suddenly, your realization of being completely exposed had heightened, and you pressed your thighs together. Maybe it was because your vulnerability showed on your face, clear as day, but Jaehyun smirked, further flustering you by tugging down his swim shorts to reveal his hardened cock.
It was heavy and warm against your thigh, but what you were fixed on was the v-line on his pelvis. You traced along the bone, making him shiver under your touch. You were shocked when he grabbed your wrist tightly, holding it away from him.
“You’re playing a dangerous game here,” he growled. Jaehyun leaned closer and nipped at the shell of your earlobe, chuckling as you tensed up under his hold. His hot breath made you squirm under his grip.
Have you ever noticed how insanely attractive he was? Yes, of course. You weren’t an idiot.
Have you ever appreciated his beauty until now? Probably not.
“Just fuck me already, Jae,” you grumbled out as he pushed you down onto the deck of the pool.
In seconds, Jaehyun grabbed your hips and pulled them to his waist. Without any preamble, he rammed himself inside of you. The motion caught you by surprise and you cried out, half out of pleasure and half out of pain. You were definitely wet from being fingered earlier, but two fingers were nothing compared to Jaehyun’s cock.
Seeing his cock disappear in you was enough to make you whimper. Your walls clenched around him, pulsating at the foreign feeling. You were tempted to slap him upside the head for going so fast, but all you could do was tug at his hair and wrap your legs around him.
“You bastard, I’ll fucking—oh.”
Jaehyun laughed cruelly at your reaction, partly to cover up the groan caught in his throat and partly because your attempts at being mad at him were downright pathetic. When you had adjusted to his size, Jaehyun grunted and pounded in you, hitting spots that made your limbs feel like jelly. As if that wasn’t enough, Jaehyun found your clit with the hand that didn’t have a bruising grip on your waist and pressed harshly against it.
“You’re so fucking tight,” Jaehyun gritted out.
“T-then be gentle,” you bargained, drowning in a molten sea.
Jaehyun narrowed his eyes at you. “Have you ever fucking heard of gentle hate sex?” he asked, validating his point with a particularly hard thrust.
Your fingernails dug into his back, leaving hot-white trails down his skin. You were certain you had drawn blood, but knowing Jaehyun, he’d probably feel proud if he saw it. He brought his lips to your neck as you writhed under him, biting around until he found your sweet spot. This wasn’t fair; he was pleasuring you in every way possible and all you could do was cry out as he pummeled in you.
You closed your eyes, sparks flying behind your eyelids as you felt your release rushing to you.
Then, he slowed his strokes down considerably.
“Look at me,” he ordered in a rasp. Your eyes fluttered open, remaining half-lidded as you felt like you were going to spill over. “Look at me when I’m fucking you.”
He slapped his hips against yours again, the sound of skin against skin making you shudder. Jaehyun filled you up to the brim and you were oh-so-close to letting go and falling off the edge. The hardscape was cool but you were on fire, bliss overtaking all of your senses. Your toes curled as you held onto his damp skin for dear life, not sure if it was because he was in the pool or he was sweating due to the heat you both emanated.
“R-right there!”  you wailed. “Fuck, right there!”
Jaehyun angled his hips slightly to pound into you, causing you to see metaphysical stars. It was so hard to keep eye contact with him when your eyes just wanted to roll back. Jaehyun let out a groan by your ear, low and guttural. You didn’t even notice how tight the grip he has on you until he releases your hip for you to see the print he left.
You could tell he was close, but he wanted to hold on for you. Both of your breaths were labored as you stared into each other’s eyes, your body moving up and down against the hardscape as Jaehyun railed you. You tightened your grip on him, a pathetic moan falling from your lips as you were falling over the edge.
Jaehyun understood and fucked you through your orgasm, making sure you made the most of it. Warmth blossomed under your skin as you cried out in pure bliss, your vision blurring and refocusing as it flickered from normal to pure white as you rode out your high. You ground yourself back to reality after nearly sobbing out his name, the pleasure overwhelming you. Jaehyun’s eyes went hazy as he fell apart right after you did, and soon, you felt something warm spill inside of you.
Jaehyun finished inside of you and stuttered out a curse as he pulled out of you. He rolled over and laid on the deck of the pool next to you, the both of you catching your breath like you had just run a marathon.
“I have a cute date idea for tonight,” Jaehyun said after a long pause.
You looked over, watching his chest rise and fall. “Yeah?”
“We go to the store and buy Plan B.”
You couldn’t even disagree.
“Sounds good.”
Jaehyun dragged himself off the floor, muttering something along the lines of “shit, that felt good” to himself as he reached for his swim trunks to pull back on. You grabbed a towel to dry yourself off, but pins and needles shot up your legs when you tried to walk. Jaehyun noticed immediately and a smug look settled on his face again, not the least bit remorseful.
You scowled as you slipped your clothes back on. “Shut up,” you jeered. “You’re so shameless for someone who can’t pull out.”
“Oops,” he replied flatly.
“I hate you, Jaehyun.”
Jaehyun ran a hand through his damp hair, letting out a laugh as he shook his head. He picked up another towel from the chairs by the poolside and wrapped it around so it covered your head. You bit your lip as you watched him attempt to dry your hair. It was times like these when he seemed so gentle and delicate, unlike his usual irritating attitude.
“You liked it, though,” Jaehyun said. “Right?”
You faltered, looking down at your feet as he continued to dry your hair. “Yeah.”
Jaehyun smiled softly and leaned in swiftly to peck your lips, but your moment was interrupted by the sound of a door opening.
Mark was gaping at you two, eyelids fluttering rapidly as if he was trying to blink away what he had just seen.
“Y/N? Jeong Jaehyun?” Mark questioned, his voice an octave higher than usual. Realization crossed his face through a series of facial expressions that morphed far too quickly for you to process. “You’ve got to be kidding me.”
“Mark!” You and Jaehyun pulled away from each other quickly.
Mark paused to think his words through. “Did I almost walk in on a murder?”
You let out a frustrated groan. “Jesus, Mark, if you’re not going to read the room, at least SparkNote it.”
“Wait, so you were kissing?”
“No, we didn’t kiss,” Jaehyun assured, and you felt tricked for feeling relieved for a split second. “We actually had sex.”
Jaehyun’s words ended with a splutter as you elbowed him in the gut. Mark looked between the two of you, boggled. You nudged Jaehyun again with your foot, signaling for him to leave so you could handle Mark. Thankfully, he took your cue this time and grabbed his towel, mockingly saluting the both of you. You were stupid to think you were safe, though, because Jaehyun had to get another last word in before he walked off.
“See you tonight, Y/N.”
There was a long, awkward pause while Jaehyun opened the door and left the building. You and Mark were staring at each other but neither of you knew what to say or how to approach the subject.
“I just… I just came here to find you, and Jaemin told me you went to the pool. You…” Mark started. He looked absolutely horrified, like a corpse had fallen to his feet—no, rather, he looked like a corpse himself, like someone attempted to do taxidermy on him but did a shit job. “Bitch.”
“Let me explain.”
“Bitch,” Mark enunciated, “you just fucked the hottest guy here, oh my god.”
Definitely not the reaction you were expecting, but you supposed it wasn’t a bad one. You were glad he wasn’t getting into the whole ‘why didn’t you tell me? I’m your best friend’ rant, but this was equally as overwhelming.
Mark continued, “Wait—is that why you were late this morning? Oh my god, this has been a thing. You’ve been hooking up with him in secret, haven’t you?”
“No? Well, yes, but it hasn’t been much until, um”—you gestured awkwardly around you—“you know.”
“So you were the one who was with Jaehyun last night?”
“Yes.”
“And this morning before I picked you up?”
“Yes.”
“Are you two dating now?”
“Honestly, I really don't know,” you admitted. “Mark, please don’t tell anyone about this. Especially not those little shits, Chenle and Johnny.”
Mark gulped. “About that…”
Before you could question him, there was a chorus of loud clapping echoing from the locker rooms which was then followed by a few cheers. You grimaced as the two boys you didn’t want to see walked out: Chenle and Johnny, Tweedledee and Tweedledum themselves. They both wore cocky smirks as they shook their head at you, which made Mark a touch more nervous than he was before.
“Have anything to say for yourself, Y/N?” Chenle teased.
“Go to hell.” You scoffed and turned to Mark, narrowing in on him. “Why’d you bring them along? What are you? The three stooges?”
“We were looking for you so we could invite you to the movie night we were having in Jungwoo’s room!” Mark defended. “I swear, if I knew about you and Jaehyun, I never would’ve brought them along.”
You sighed deeply as Chenle snickered to himself. “Well, I guess Y/N can’t come to movie night since she has a date with—hold on, what did you call him again? The devil?”
“Okay, I get it!” You threw your hands up in defeat, eyes closed to show you were reflecting upon your actions. “I’m a dirty hypocrite and I’ve committed a crime worse than death.” You opened your eyes again. “I’m sorry.” To your surprise, Chenle and Johnny had their right hand up. You stared at it, puzzled. “Do you want me to make an oath or something?”
“In modern society,” Johnny explained, “we call it a high-five.”
It took you a few seconds to process their words before you tentatively gave them each a firm high-five. You blinked up at them before ease washed over you. This was how it always was, anyways. At the end of the day, no matter how much you guys bickered or teased each other, you always made up. That's what friends were for, after all.
“There we go,” you said, oddly satisfied. “For now, I’ll let go of the fact that Johnny snitched on me to Jaehyun behind my back.”
“How dare you!” Johnny gasped. “Chenle was with me.”
Chenle raised his hand to confirm the statement. “Indeed. Please give credit where it's due.”
“Alright, fuck you both.”

What the fuck even was a date?
This was foreign territory to you, but even so, you decided you wouldn’t rely on your annoying friends. First of all, you were sure they wouldn’t really be of any help and just endlessly tease you about it. Secondly, they were simply going to gradually grow more stressed (Mark), lecherous (Johnny), and aggravating (Chenle). Thus, you decided to slay the monster of first dates yourself.
Your first hurdle was looking cute. You packed absolutely nothing that wasn’t for the training camp, so you had already failed. Jaehyun was going to have to deal with you in your gym shorts and a school t-shirt.
Your second hurdle was sneaking away from Eunha, your roommate. That was a piece of cake considering how she didn’t exactly care. When you headed out of the room, wallet and phone in hand, she wished you a kind farewell, which you returned.
Your third hurdle was sneaking out of the hotel. You weren’t quite sure how you and Jaehyun made it outside without being spotted, but you were certain he must have tipped off some of the staff because there was no way the both of you could have walked straight out of the lobby without being reported. When you asked him, though, he said it was probably because you looked like the cleaning lady.
Needless to say, Jaehyun was on thin ice.
You loved Seoul, loved the dirty of it. Even at night, the city was alive and full of vigor, full of young people like you who were chasing cheap thrills. Jaehyun was a dream under the glowing lights, and you almost couldn’t believe that the prince-like boy was head-over-heels for you.
He took you to a wide alley with a night market, full of life and energy. Jaehyun was walking through the crowd and you were following right behind him, like some awkward fish swimming after a cuter, more popular fish upstream. There were several times where you almost lost yourself in the crowd, and Jaehyun noticed this. He reached behind him, still shouldering his way through the crowd, and grabbed your hand. The smell of spicy rice cakes, the numerous pop-up bars lining the alley, and Jeong Jaehyun gripping your hand—it all made a pretty eventful first date.
Jaehyun didn’t kiss you. Not once. He didn’t try to touch you anywhere that would have tempted you both into doing something you definitely shouldn’t do in public. There were times where Jaehyun turned pink or looked away from you shyly, and you indulged in it because this was a side of him you didn’t see often.
Jaehyun stopped at a convenience store before you both decided to head back. You waited outside for him, kicking stones as you thought of him. He was undeniably perfect, which you somewhat despised because you had spent the last two years hating his guts and this was an abrupt change. You were worried if he was buying you something; he had already bought you lamb skewers and rice cakes at the night market. You didn’t want to be the girlfriend to empty his wallet.
Wait—
Were you his girlfriend?
“Y/N,” he called when he walked out of the store, holding something behind his back with a sneaky grin. “Close your eyes.”
You bit back a smile and closed your eyes, holding your hands out. He placed the object in your hands and it felt light, so you were sure it shouldn’t have cost much. Although, your stomach was pitted with guilt at the thought of him spending money on you. You opened your eyes when he directed you to.
Plan B One-Step.
You no longer felt bad for him.
“Very romantic,” you observed, putting the packet in your wallet, “but thank you.”
You were seething. Your face grew unconditionally hot and you had to look down at your feet. It seriously pissed you off that your feelings were so clear right now because Jaehyun had bought you fucking Plan B.
Jaehyun seemed to notice right away and tilted your chin up with two fingers, chuckling. “Is something wrong?”
Your face screwed up when you decided on what you were going to ask him. “Are we dating?” you blurted out.
Jaehyun held your face gently like it would shatter if he applied any more pressure. His fingertips grazed the hinge of your jaw while his thumbs rested on your cheekbones. You were panicking when he leaned in, but it wasn’t what you expected. Jaehyun pressed a chaste kiss to your nose, grinning at your reaction. You reached up to trace his dimple with your finger.
“Do you want to be my girlfriend, Y/N?”
“Yeah,” you admitted, flustered beyond imagination, but you had already gotten this far so you continued, “do you?”
“Do I want to be your girlfriend?”
You wanted to hit yourself. “Fuck. I mean, do you wanna date me?”
“Of course,” he said with a laugh. “I’ve been waiting for this for so long.”
He drew you into his warm embrace and you buried your face into his chest, wondering how you hated this man for so long. Of course, when those cocky smirks and impish looks came back, you were sure you’d remember again. But right now, in his arms, you just knew that you wanted to be with him. You looked up at him, arms slung around him, and got on your toes to press a gentle kiss to his lips.
You were positive you hadn’t ever seen Jeong Jaehyun blush before tonight, but it was a sight you were sure you could never get sick of.
And you never would.

You had heard a lot about the BAU team before joining them.
About the cases, the trust, the bond. It had always been something that had fascinated you. You had experienced some things with your previous team as well, but the BAU was in a whole different league.
Before you had been moved there, you had already familiarized yourself with the teammates. You didn't want to come unprepared to a team that knew each other inside and out. Also, you were a person who put your foot in your mouth quickly.
You were most impressed by Doctor Spencer Reid. You had heard the most about him. He was a genius, with an IQ of 187 and he could read 20,000 words a minute. Not to mention his eidetic memory. You had even read his doctoral dissertations. While you didn't understand everything, they were incredibly interesting and gave you a little insight into the mind of the spectacular Doctor Spencer Reid.
When you first met, you concentrated on not reaching out to him. You merely raised your hand to greet him, which he returned with a smile, and although he tried to hide it, you knew that this small gesture meant a lot to him.
While the other team members put their hand on his shoulder or ruffled his hair, you were almost tensely careful not to touch him. If he should want to, he would make the first move.
It happened some time later, as you stood side by side in the office kitchen. While Spencer poured himself a coffee, you poured hot water into your teacup. You asked him for the sugar that was next to him, and instead of sliding it over to you as you had been doing, he held the dispenser out to you. You reached for it and when your fingers brushed his, it went through you like an electric shock. You suddenly felt warm and your heart beat faster, but Spencer didn't seem to notice. He smiled at you before walking back to his seat. You looked after him.
After that incident, you were both a little more relaxed. While you didn't push it, Spencer didn't seem to mind you handing him files or touching each other briefly when you sat next to each other. After an incident on the plane, even the team noticed.
Spencer was on his way to the trash can when you got up to sit with Emily and Hotch to discuss the current case. You squeezed past each other as the plane made an unexpected swerve. You tried to grab onto the seat next to you, but the sway was too sudden. Before you could fall, Spencer grabbed your arm with one hand and your hip with the other and held you tight. He pulled you straight toward him so you wouldn't land face down on the ground. Even when the plane was back on course, he didn't let go. As you tried to regain control of your irregular breathing from the shock, Spencer looked at you closely. You felt his gaze on you, almost burning into your forehead, but neither said a word. As you broke away from each other and each sat down in your seat, you noticed his gaze still on you. When you looked up, he looked away.
Next came your birthday. Even though you didn't want to celebrate and your real plan was to have food delivered and watch your favorite movie for the hundredth time, the team dragged you to a bar. "Pathetic," Derek had called the plan, and you had punched him affectionately in the shoulder, but by the time he put the first drink in your hand, you had all but forgotten his comment. While some of you sat at a table and the rest enjoyed themselves on the dance floor, you sat at the bar. You did love your team, but on your birthday you didn't want to hear about any cases outside of work. Which couldn't be avoided when you were around each other 24/7.
You sipped your drink, secretly cursing Derek for having so much alcohol in it. You scrunched your nose.
"Did you know that alcohol tastes different when you drink it with a straw?" Spencer asked, sitting down in the empty chair next to you. You turned to him and raised an eyebrow questioningly. "When we ingest something, the aroma molecules go up our nose and we can tell from the start whether it's going to taste good or not. Also, the nose detects different flavors than the tongue. So if you drink the drink with the straw so the glass is farther away from your nose, you'll perceive the taste of the drink differently than it is." Even in the dim light of the bar, you could see how red he was getting. When you didn't answer, he laughed nervously and ran a hand through his hair. "Sorry, I was rambling again."
You took another sip of your drink. "Don't apologize, Spencer. I like that you're so smart. And I like that you're comfortable enough to want to share your knowledge with me," you smiled gently at him. He returned your smile.
"I appreciate you not reaching out to me then, by the way," he confessed, nibbling on the label of his beer bottle. "I don't like shaking hands with strangers, and it makes me uncomfortable when I'm expected to but I don't. So, thanks for that."
"It's okay," you said, but he let go of his bottle and turned to you completely.
"You never pushed me to do this. You waited for me to make the first move on this because it means more to me than it does to you. There aren't many who are that respectful and understanding." He got up from his chair, but left the beer bottle on the counter. He held out his arms. "I haven't wished you a happy birthday yet because I didn't want to do it in front of the team. They'd make a big deal out of it." He gestured for you to give him a hug. He actually wanted to hug you.
"Spencer, you don't have to do this," you said, but before you knew it, he had grabbed your hand and pulled you off the chair, right into his arms.
You had often imagined what a hug from Spencer would be like, especially when you saw him hug JJ or Emily after a hard case. But you had imagined it differently.
He had his arms wrapped around your waist and held you so close that you almost couldn't breathe. You felt his long fingers on your skin, despite your T-shirt and you felt his warm breath on your neck and his curls on your temple. Goosebumps spread over your body and you prayed he didn't notice. "Happy birthday," he whispered in your ear and before you knew it, he placed his lips on your cheek before pulling away from you. Smiling, he reached for his beer and sauntered back over to the table, leaving you standing at the bar. With a pounding heart and fire in your veins. And in that moment, you just thought that work colleagues, or even maybe friends, shouldn't feel that way about each other.
After your birthday, it was no longer an issue for Spencer. Under the table, he'd nudge you with his knee if you weren't paying attention for a second, or he'd put his hand on your shoulder when he looked over you at the computer screen. He also didn't mind if you were so exhausted from a case that you fell asleep by his side on the plane, with your head on his shoulder. You didn't realize it, but JJ had pointed out that Spencer always pulled you a little closer then, resting his cheek against the top of your head. For him, the constant touching was no longer an issue.
For you, it was. Every time his skin brushed yours, you felt warm and your heart skipped a beat. Whether it was at dinner, at a briefing, or just walking by. But it was bearable.
It got bad when he touched you longer. On particularly hard cases, he had taken to looking under the table for your hand and squeezing it twice. It was a gesture of friendship and care. If you held each other, nothing could happen to you. On the plane, you always sat next to each other, playing cards or absorbed in your own thoughts. Spencer, however, got into the habit of putting your legs over one of his if you had to fly for a particularly long time. At first, the team gave you strange looks, which made you uncomfortable, but didn't bother Spencer in the least. So you tried not to let on, which was pretty difficult when you were surrounded by profilers. Flames blazed in your veins at those touches, heat tingled under your skin where he touched you, and when he pulled you into his arms on certain occasions, you almost felt dizzy.
This is not how you should feel about your best friend.
"Thales, Miletus, here's your key," Hotch said, tossing Spencer the room key as the team checked into the hotel. He'd resisted at first the nickname Garcia had picked out for you - classically, after the discoverer of magnetism - but since everyone was using it, even the earnest Hotch had given up on it. "Prentiss, JJ, your room is right next to ours." The two women nodded and the four of them walked down the corridor while Derek was kind enough to take the girls' bags.
You couldn't look after them for long, because Spencer had already grabbed your hand and intertwined his fingers. "Come on. Our room is waiting."
You had never shared a room. You'd either always had your own, or shared one with Emily or JJ, but never with Spencer. You wouldn't mind so much if you weren't into him. Hopefully there were two beds. On opposite walls. Far away from each other.
When Spencer unlocked the door and you entered, you wanted to sink into the floor. Double bed. One blanket. You tried to mentally prepare yourself for the stay by setting your bag down on a chair and stopping in the middle of the room while your best friend inspected it. He didn't seem to notice that you had only one bed and, more importantly, only one blanket. At least, it didn't bother him.
When you returned to the room that evening, you went straight to the bathroom and took a shower. The water was as cold as you could stand it. It was supposed to cool you down and prepare you for the night. It wasn't every day that you shared a bed with your crush. After combing your hair and changing, you slipped under the covers and tried to fall asleep as quickly as possible so you wouldn't notice Spencer's presence next to you when he came out of the bathroom.
Your thoughts cheated on you. What if you snuggled up to each other in your sleep at night? Or you would unconsciously snuggle up to him, but he didn't want you to? Then you'd have to get another room tomorrow. And it would get so awkward that you wouldn't be able to look him in the eyes.
"What are you thinking about?" asked Spencer finally as he climbed into bed next to you. Immediately, you felt his warmth. He hadn't taken a cold shower, apparently.
"It's always hard when kids are involved," you answered truthfully. It wasn't a lie, but it wasn't what was floating around in your mind either.
"Come here," he said, opening his arms. Hesitantly, you slid closer to him so there was still space between you, but it didn't seem close enough for Spencer. After he turned out the light, he pulled you close enough for you to rest your head on his shoulder and with his free hand, he reached for yours and intertwined your fingers again. Your heart stopped. "We can do this, Y/N. We've done it all so far." You heard his heartbeat beneath you, felt his breath on your hair, and the warmth of his body burned into your skin. "Try to get some sleep. We'll know more tomorrow," he whispered, pressing a kiss to your forehead before you fell asleep.
When you woke up in the morning, you felt Spencer behind you. His chest was pressed against your back, his arm was wrapped tightly around your middle, and he had his face buried in your neck. Immediately goosebumps spread all over your body. You tried to pull away from him a little, but he pulled you even closer. Spencer was still asleep, so he didn't notice how he carefully slid his hand under your shirt and how his long fingers danced over your soft skin. You held your breath, afraid to move or give away your racing heartbeat. At one point he pulled his arm back and turned onto his back before lifting his hand and rubbing his eyes. His hair stood out in all directions and he smiled sleepily. You were getting hot.
"Good morning, Y/N." Good morning indeed.
The case took longer than planned, though of course you can't plan a case. After the third night, you had gotten used to sleeping next to Spencer, but the cuddling worried you. The longer you shared that room, the more complicated your feelings became. It was almost unbearable.
Derek, Emily, Spencer and you found the unsub in a remote car yard. While the latter surveyed the building, Derek and you looked around the yard.
"What's going on between you and Reid, anyway?" he asked curiously. You gave him a meaningful look, but he didn't care. "It's come to all of our attention. You guys are inseparable, he has to touch you all the time, and those looks."
"What looks?" you probed, trying to sound as unsuspecting as possible. This time Derek was looking at you. So he had noticed. And if Derek knew, so did the others. Fucking profilers.
"Y/N," he started, and stopped. When you turned to him, he twisted his mouth into a weak smile. It was a very different Derek who stood before you. Not the go-getter who sometimes made fun of Spencer. He seemed genuinely worried, and that made you nervous. "Friends don't look at friends that way."
A loud bang rang through the air and the conversation was all but forgotten. You took cover and communicated via hand signals. Quietly, you moved forward. It wasn't long before you saw a figure running away behind the cars. "We got him," Derek said into the mic, and together you dashed toward the unsub. He ran toward the woods and disappeared. Derek looked at you and nodded. You split up.
Gun drawn, you ran forward. Leaves crunched beneath you, but you tuned that out. You focused on the birds above you, the shadows of the trees, and the gun in your hand. He had to be here somewhere.
You didn't even startle when you felt cold metal against the back of your head. "Don‘t. Move." You took your fingers off the trigger and raised your arms. "Put the gun down. Vest off." Slowly, you bent down and placed both on the ground. The only thing you could think about was that you would hopefully find them later. "Walk.“ With your hands clasped behind your head, you took one step at a time. Derek was nowhere to be seen. You wished you hadn't split up.
He led you to a rundown cabin in the woods that wasn't marked on any map, which is why you couldn't have known about it. He pushed you inside and closed the door behind him, his gun still pointed at you. "If you had wanted to kill me, you would have done it long ago," you gave out, but he didn't go for it. It was a game of fire. You knew the file and what he was capable of.
It was only a few moments before someone kicked open the door and Derek stormed into the cabin, closely followed by Spencer. "Put the gun down and keep your hands off," Derek yelled. Up until then, you hadn't realized that the he had pulled you close and was holding the barrel of his gun right to your temple You only had eyes for Spencer, who was deliberately not looking at you.
You tried to get his attention, but he wouldn't budge. You raised a hand and moved it toward your shoulder, hoping Spencer understood your message. But he wasn't looking at you.
Look at me, Spencer. Come on. Look. At. Me.
His eyes moved from the unsub to your fingers, tapping a spot in your shoulder. You repeated this until he finally looked you in the eye. Then he shook his head, barely perceptibly. Again you tapped the spot. If Spencer shot through your shoulder, he would hit the perpetrator in the torso, and even if the bullet slowed down through you, it would still do enough damage. And you were willing to take the risk.
But Spencer didn't shoot. And time was running out for you. "I trust you," you said, no sound escaping your lips. He gritted his teeth. "I trust you, Spencer. Do it."
And then he shot.
-
"Welcome back, sunshine," Derek grinned, wrapping you in his muscular arms as you entered the office. "We've all missed you."
It had been three months since you had been shot in the field. Spencer had shot you through the shoulder as planned, and you were right. The perpetrator was shot and the rest of the victims were found. So it was almost a happy ending.
Almost. Of course, you had to listen to a few more things from Hotch on the way to the hospital. You were tired of living and he was disappointed and angry, but incredibly relieved that nothing else had happened to you. You could have been the next victim, too.
"All of you?" you prodded, and Emily, who had joined you, screwed up her face.
"He's not back yet. He extended his vacation," she said, putting a hand on your shoulder. "He's not really over it yet."
You hadn't heard from Spencer since the incident. He hadn't visited you at the hospital, called you or been to your home after you were discharged. You were best friends and the fact that you hadn't seen him in three months hurt more than the gunshot wound. The only person Spencer talked to was JJ, but even she couldn't give you any information.
He probably blamed himself, but why? You had wanted him to shoot. It had been your plan. Besides, he had shot so well that you didn't suffer any permanent damage. He shouldn't worry about it.
It was strange to work a case without him. Not having him near you. Not being able to feel his warmth. You tried to reach him, by phone, by letter, but you got no answer. Even though you hadn't spoken in months, he was your best friend and you were starting to get really worried. He had cut off contact with JJ himself.
When you walked into the office one morning, you were almost breathless. Spencer was standing at his desk, leaning against it, and the others were standing around him. But you had no eyes for them. Spencer was back. Your Spencer was back. As you walked toward them, you got a sinking feeling. He looked good. Changed, but good. His hair was a little shorter and he didn't look as pale as usual. He also seemed more confident and self-assured, which unfortunately made him even more attractive.
He didn't see you until you were almost in front of him. He smiled weakly at you before standing up straight. "Y/N," he said, and it felt so good to hear your name come out of his mouth. Immediately, goosebumps spread across your body. You expected him to give you a hug or insist on talking to you in person, because a lot had happened in the time without him, but he didn't. He turned around briefly and pulled something off his office chair. Not something. Someone. "This is my girlfriend, Vicky."
You didn't know what had happened in the last few months. Did you even want to know? Spencer hadn't contacted you in a long time, only to reappear with a girlfriend? You didn't understand the world anymore. The rest of the team must have felt the same way, because as you stood at your regular table in the bar, the couple was the only topic of conversation. In fact, you would have preferred all the murder cases.
"I'll be honest," Penelope said, taking a big gulp of her drink, which took quite a while since she always drank with a straw, "I was hoping you two would get together." She pointed her finger at you and then toward Spencer, who was standing at the bar with Vicky. You saw her run her finger through his hair and had to look away. Didn't she know he didn't like that?
"Hotch and I even bet money on it," Emily confessed, turning back towards the table. Apparently she didn't want to watch them either. "We would have gotten you a nice wedding present from that."
"He looks happy," you said, but you guessed that's not what the others wanted to hear from you. You sat at a table made up mostly of profilers. They knew exactly how you felt about the whole thing.
"Give it a rest," Derek said, putting his arm around your shoulder. Even the overly positive music in the background couldn't lighten your mood. "We all know how you feel about Spencer. And honestly, we thought he would feel the same way about you."
"But he doesn't, so please let it go," you shot back, instantly regretting it. Your friends weren't to blame for the whole situation. It was you. As you dared another look, Vicky pulled Spencer onto the dance floor, which you knew he didn't like either. Didn't she know him at all?
"I don't know what got into him," JJ confessed, sipping her Coke. "Those two don't even fit together." They didn't, but maybe that's why it worked. There was this theory that opposites attract, but you could never have imagined it with Spencer.
When Vicky grabbed Spencer by the tie and pulled him down so she could kiss him, your heart broke. It was different when you just knew two people were doing something. But when you saw it, all hope was lost. Even from a distance, you could see their tongues and you almost threw up.
"That's my sign," you said, pressing a kiss to Penelope's cheek. "See you." They all said goodbye to you and even over that awful music, you could still hear "It must hurt terribly to see him like that" and "I couldn't do that" as you walked.
Outside, the cold night air surprised you. It hit you in the face like a slap, but nothing hurt as much as knowing Spencer was happy without you. He didn’t need you and he didn't want you. That was fine, but that didn't mean you had to go along with it. Since he'd been back, he'd barely spoken to you. On the plane, he had sat at the other end of the room, and he had actually switched rooms at the hotel just so he wouldn't have to be near you. He'd even started shoving files back at you instead of handing them to you, like he'd burn if he touched you.
The lights in Hotch's office were still on when you came into the office. It was just after midnight and you knew he would still be there. When you knocked on his door, he invited you in. "What can I do for you?" He hadn't even had to ask. He knew why you were there. It was written on your forehead. "Are you sure about this? I'll write a recommendation, but only if you really want me to." You nodded silently. "It's because of him, isn't it?" he asked, his usually hard expression softening.
"Yes," you answered curtly. There was nothing to add.
"I'll make some calls. You get a week to pack. I'll call you tomorrow," he said, getting up from his desk. Surprisingly, he pulled you into his arms. "We're all going to miss you terribly, Y/N. And you're welcome here anytime."
It didn't take long for your things to be packed, and it didn't take long for the others to notice the following day. Your desk was empty, the files had been processed, the pictures of you and the team were gone, and your mug with a picture of Spencer and you on it that he had once given you was gone, too.
"Where is she?" asked Emily Derek, who didn't have an answer ready either. They looked around uncertainly and as the rest entered the bullpen, Hotch came out of his office. He looked like he hadn't slept. He walked down the steps and stood in the circle of confused team members. Even Spencer was puzzled.
"Agent Y/L/N left us last night," he began, sounding very composed. The others didn't know how to respond, so they just gave each other confused looks. "She has asked for a transfer and will start there next week. Please refrain from trying to talk her out of it. The transfer has gone through."
It took everyone by great surprise when Spencer dropped his bag and stormed out of the office. He didn't need to explain where he was going. It was obvious. He pulled his phone out of his pocket and tried to call you, but it went straight to voicemail. It wasn't long before he arrived at your complex and shot up the steps to your apartment. He took two steps at a time. He stopped in front of your door and pounded his fist against the wood, hoping you would open the door for him and explain what you were doing. When nothing happened, he dialed the number again. Again and again, until the voice in the phone said to him, this number was no longer in service.
He ran his hand through his hair before sliding down with his back to the door. He put his head between his knees and cursed himself.
You weren't there anymore.

dance - jeno x f reader
fluff, smut, 2.1k
Tumblr media
jeno knows it’s bad, but he can’t help but reminisce on how this all began. he likes to torture himself by reliving the first night over and over. it always starts with the drunken taunts from his teammates, sullied further by his dismissal. ‘no way,’ he’d said. ‘i can’t go there.’ he remembers seeing your roommates hyping you up, followed closely by your misguided steps. even after his earlier reluctance, he still regrets not beating you to the jump, his friends’ clearing their throats, trying to act natural as you approached their booth.
he hated the setting: a grotty sports bar a town over from his college campus. it sold stale, cheap beer, triple vodka sours and served well past three am. this may not sound like the typical start to a love story, but it was a start all the same.
‘do you wanna dance?’ you asked in a painfully small voice, your emboldened strut paling in complete contrast to your timid yet gleaming gaze. jeno still can’t say where he found the courage to agree, but agree he did, nodding behind his beer before following you up to the sticky floor. somewhere along the way you had taken his hand in yours, in fear of losing him in the sea of sweaty bodies. in the musty wave of noughties hits with tacky modern spins, jeno managed to lose himself anyway. he hadn’t a clue where to put his hands, his eyes searching yours as you giggled up at him, cooing at his bewilderment.
so you led. placing his hand on your exposed waist, your top riding up as it hugged the skin beneath your rib. he felt you shiver under his touch, his fingers clenching minutely at the feeling. ‘is this okay?’ he’d yelled, though it came through as more of a whisper under the music. you didn’t respond, instead reaching for his other hand, squeezing it over the denim on your hip. jeno was spinning. not from dancing, and not from the amount he’d drank. he knew it wasn’t down to that, nor the dizzying motion of the lights, the thickness of the air or the pounding of the music. jeno knew it was you. your chest pressed flush to his, your eyes boring into his. he didn’t know when you’d started swaying, his body leaning, moving in time with the music and the others on the floor. he could hear the songs changing, feel the bass beneath his feet. there wasn’t much he could do but enjoy it.
much like he still does. as he drags you close to him, the rosie organza pleated around your chest pressed right up to his satin lapel. his confidence then pales in comparison to now. it only took a few months to see the change, one you nurtured in all the ways a man like jeno needed. in soft assurances and gentle praise. in delicate touches and the softest embraces. in ardent exchanges and steamy quickies.
but the trouble began this past winter. well, technically well before. as a child, jeno had spent his summers visiting his cousin jaemin in his hometown from before he could remember. there the two had fortified a friendship, a real brotherhood that jeno never would have gotten to experience without being cast away to the country every solstice. it was there he met his cousin’s neighbour, mark lee. mark lee, a kind kid with wide eyes and a wider smile, was the kind of kid everyone looked up to. he embodied what jeno typically thought to be an older brother. and he was. to his step sister and cousins, to kids in his neighbourhood, to jeno’s cousin jaemin and eventually to jeno. it’s why, this christmas just gone, when mark had approached jeno, with giddy eyes and a giddier smile, to ask him to be one of his groomsmen - not just due to the refusal of a painfully introverted jaemin - but because of a genuine brotherhood formed between the two, jeno’s big hearted self could not refuse.. bringing us back to where the trouble began.
‘so, are you bringing her to the wedding?’ mark questioned suddenly, his arm pushing through the sleeve of his tux. ‘you definitely shou- it’s a bit tight at the elbow, can you see?’
jeno still curses jaemin for opting out of being a groomsman, leaving jeno to deal with the trivialities of wedding prep. not that he has a real problem with it all. it’s just a fitting, he thought as he walked in, his eyes landing on the black silk hanging off the changing room door. it wasn’t until he realised it was just he and mark - the rest of the groomsmen opting to come on a later date - that he was regretting the decision. because even though no one would admit it to his face, mark was a bit of a groomzilla. less for the usual reasons. he wasn’t rude, short or angered by little inconveniences. he was just a man of superstition, faith, and insurmountable dubiety. he wanted everything to be perfect. he wanted to do as much of his part as he could for his wedding day. jeno thinks his fiancée had been right to leave him the task of the guest list. mark easily knew more people, so was naturally inundated with acquaintances. it was a great idea, jeno thought.. until mark kept- on- pushing- ‘i’ll even relieve you of your duties early, let you go off with her-’
‘thanks man,’ the younger tried, watching the tailor pinch the jacket at his waist. ‘but really, i don’t think i will. i’ll just bring my mom or something.’
‘your mom’s already invited man, you know that.’ jeno huffed at that. of course she is. mark did take his duties seriously after all. ‘couldn’t have her going off on me like jaemin did-’
‘are you comparing my mom to jaemin?’
‘i’m just saying-’ mark paused to thank the attendant, slipping back out of his jacket as he walked up to jeno, squeezing his shoulder. ‘you’ve got nothing to be nervous about, jen. you’re like a brother to me. you should bring her, i’d love to meet her.’
jeno flinches just thinking about it, his spine straightening as mark turned to him fully. jeno manages a shrug, turning back to the mirror just for a second before deciding that, no. no, it wouldn’t be a good idea to introduce his girl to his best friend on his wedding day.
because the issue wasn’t that he wouldn’t invite you.
‘you met her at college, right?’
the issue was that he couldn’t.
‘maybe y/n knows her?’
the issue is that you’re already going.
‘you know what my sister’s like, she gets on with everyone.’
“jen?” you pant, his name falling off your tongue as he bounces you quickly in his lap. “come back to me.” he smiles at your sweet call, your teeth catching his lip between them before slipping your tongue into his mouth.
the ceremony starts in ten minutes, though guests are still pouring into the church. it’s what actually convinced him. that and you, your manicured hand stuffing your damp panties into the pocket of his fitted tux. it had been his undoing, your sweeping frame gliding into a small side door a few feet from the altar.
the clock is ticking but you pay it no mind, your hips halting their rise and fall as you dig your heels into the masoned floor, grinding your hips back and forth as you ride him. you feel his nails dig painfully into your skin, his tongue wrapping around yours, swallowing your gasps as his other hand gathers your dress, the layers of delicate organza billowing over his knee. when your nails find his nape, careful not to mess up his perfectly styled do, you suck on his ear lobe, forcing him to thrust up into you.
“fuck-”
“shh!” you hiss, rushing to stuff the same panties you gifted him in his mouth. you hear his muffled groans, his cheeks hollowing as he sucks the essence of you onto his waiting tongue. he feels you clench harder around him, his eyes smiling in place of his occupied lips. he lifts a brow when your rocking falters, your eyes darting around his perfect face, incapable of taking in anything but him and how he makes you feel. there’s a question in his gaze, forcing your head to bob. “yeah- i’m close-”
he abandons your dress then, letting the material pool around you two as he presses his palm to your neck, bringing your mouth to his. it’s a quick and steep descent to your release, your thighs burning as he slams you up and down on his cock, your skin clapping against his as he abandons all reason. he’s kept it quiet for so long, at times he thinks it might consume him from the inside out, all this love he has for you. all jeno really wants is to scream it out from the highest mountain top, tattoo it to his forehead, paint it on the fucking moon. hell, he would pay anyone to listen. he didn’t care who. he’d tell anyone who’d listen that he, lee jeno, was in love with y/n y/l/n.
“i love you too,” you almost cry, jaw unhinged as you feel the effects of his thrusts and affection rip through you. it spreads through you like wildfire, setting every nerve in you alight before it finally consumes him. your heat pumps and pushes him past his release, his heavy load pouring out into you. you milk him through it, your temple pressed to the crown of his head.
it’s the church bells that rip you apart, your whole body cringing as realisation hits. you cringe further as his flushed face fills your vision, his hands gathering your dress again before further staining your panties as he wipes between your legs. “don’t look at me like that.”
“like what?”
“like it’s worse for you than it is for me.” you’re about to ask how when he moves away from you, closing his eyes as he wraps it up before shoving it back in his pocket. “i said don’t.”
“fine, i won’t-” your surrender is cut short when knuckles strike the door three times, jaemin’s sign to wrap it up. “shit, let’s go-” you try to leave but can’t. because suddenly he’s stopping you, his warm hand loosely wrapped around your wrist.
“let’s tell him.”
“tell who what-”
“mark.” jeno used to hate acknowledging the striking similarities between you and your step brother. much like the unwon battle of the chicken and the egg: which came first? which of you taught the other that when your eyes enlarge, rounding into porcelain saucers, two full moons nearly eclipsing him, that he’d give you anything?
“today?” when he nods, you want to laugh. but he looks so confident. so sure. “jen, are you sure?”
“i am,” his affirmation makes your heart swell, even before he continues. “i’m sure about you.”
he knows where your uncertainties lie. but you affirm it too. “i’m sure about you too.” you both seem to forget the wedding in that moment, both neglecting the importance of your bridal party roles in favour of basking in one another for even a second longer. “only if you save me a dance?”
“always.” so much so, you don’t register the sound of the confessional door swinging open when jeno leans in to kiss to your forehead, his bitten lips pressing to the skin as his eyes land on a pair not too dissimilar to the ones he’d just poured his heart out to.
mark seems to short circuit for a second that seems to last hours. “mom’s looking for you,” he announces, spluttering around the words as you immediately grab jeno by the hand and drag him out the confessional. you both duck your heads as you shuffle past jaemin, who looks beyond pissed you didn’t heed his earlier warning.
when you both disappear, your brother turns on jaemin, eyes wide as full moons. “you knew!” it only angers him more when jaemin nods, unflinching when mark starts slapping his arm. “he told you and you didn’t tell me?”
“nuh-uh,” the younger defends, straightening out the groom’s lapel as he reverently shuts the confessional door. “i figured it out.” mark looks bewildered at the notion it had been so obvious. jaemin has to remind himself it’s mark’s day and not to be too harsh. “come on, hyung. he wouldn’t tell us her name, wouldn’t let us meet her.” mark still looks stunned. “don’t get me started on how many times they pulled this shit last christmas-”
and to think. it all started with a dance.

a/n: this will be the final installment of this mini series, ngl it ended up more popular and more touchy feely than I thought it would. thank you everyone for reading <3
part (1) (2)
Tumblr media
inter·course /ˈin(t)ərˌkôrs/
noun; sexual contact between individuals involving penetration
Tumblr media
“Do you hate her?”
Ushijima blinked a handful of times at the voice going unregistered to him. Korai of course had to repeat himself.
“Do you hate our manager or something?” The second to newest Schweiden member craned his neck around to look at the same lady talking with the captain, “I mean...even since I started last season it seems like it but I dunno, do you just hate her or something?”
No longer the new guys, Ushijima still felt confused on what his teammate meant, “Why would you say that? I’ve never said that.”
Korai shrugged. White haired man taking the ball from his bigger mates grasp and chucking the volleyball at the real newbie coming into the gym when Tobio arrived. Korai gut laughed when the dark haired man didn’t catch it and only wasted a little more time before wiping at his eyes to look back at Ushijima with what he’d just said, “You spend so much time staring at her. Thought maybe you hated it her since never talked to her.”
Ushijima’s brows pinched in the middle with the deepest furrow, “I never said I hated anyone.”
Once more with a shrug Korai figured he’d drop it, “Well man, if you don’t hate her. You must have one hell of a crush on her then.”
The word rung in his head when you said it.
Sex.
You were naked under him. Rightfully so after his first attempt to bring you, or any woman, to an orgasm. He should feel proud if not a little smug. All he felt was nervous.
“Ok....sex,” You inhaled deeply now that most of your senses was collected. The real thing felt a lot different than your own hand and the same scenario being lit up on the tiny screen of your phone. Slight tingle from that orgasm you were wondering if you had been that hard up for a hook up. Dashing that from your mind you refocus on the Schweiden player before you, “I mean...I guess there’s not a lot to say about it. I’m sure you’ve seen porn or Korai I’m pretty sure played something off of Pornhub in the locker room at least once.”
That light anecdote didn’t seem to tear the man’s concentration away from you. Leaving you to wiggle a bit and get higher up on the bed. Thinking maybe he was going to follow. Ushijima remained staring at you with that all too familiar look on his face. A look you recall years worth of seeing from across the gyms at practice.
Without warning it dawns on you, maybe he doesn’t actually want to have sex with you. A feeling nothing short of claustrophobic when it hits you. The tingle you’ve felt since the locker room fizzles out with vigor. You’re exposed. Silly. Regretful. Suddenly to recount your words.
“I mean-” You stumble over words falling from your lips while looking up at him and trying to cover some part of you, “We don’t have to- Um Ushiwa- Uh Ushijima- I uh it’s fine if you don’t want to we can just forget this-”
“I don’t hate you.”
The slur of words from your mouth catch. His surprising you more. You stop trying to cover yourself with what little blanket you can up root. Instead your brows furrow uncharacteristically at him at the foot of the bed.
“What?”
Olive eyes dropping from you it’s the first time since he joined three years ago that you saw him actually break eye contact first. You’re nothing short of surprised when Ushijima, still naked, sits back on the edge of the bed. Easing up on the need to cover yourself. You realize he’s talking about something entirely different.
Brows pinched together you ask again what he meant. Crawling towards him now. Kneeling beside him unsure if you should lay a hand on him or something. His face seems complacent like normal but with the way he sounded. It just didn’t sound right to you.
Ushijima lifts his gaze to meet your naked body right next to his. Of course he couldn’t tear them away from your form before him. All those times he’d stared at you over the years. Only now realizing he’d been trying to think what you looked like in this exact light.
“...I...Korai thought I hated you,” He confesses in the weirdest manner. Finding the one thing he couldn’t take his eyes off of wasn’t your naked body. But your face, “I don’t....I never did. I just- I think I love you and it might have been my fault if I-”
Cut off directly by the feeling of your lips against his. There’s a spilt second the man doesn’t know what to do with his hands. Only to be thankful when he felt your hands gently take his and place them on your sides. Getting the gesture Ushijima curled his broad arms around your bare waist just as you curled your own arms around his neck. Delaying the need for a breath in the passionate kiss until finally neither of you could hold out.
“Lets make love instead,” You mutter against his lips. Feeling for the first time Ushijima trying to push back into the kiss like he wasn’t ready for it to end just yet. Drawing your fingers down from the nape of his neck. Small circles over his collar bone to dip down between his well defined chest, you look up at him and smile, “...because I think I might be in love with you.”
Nothing short of a glimmer in the otherwise deadpan expression. Ushijima for the first time since the locker roomer took a kiss from you. Not just taking it. He downright kissed you back into the middle of the bed. Lips never leaving yours it was barely any fumbling as he scooped his big hands under your bottom and pulled you into his hips. Leaving you to hold onto his shoulders as the urgency of the kiss translated over to your movements together.
Sooner than later you felt his cock rub against your inner thigh. Only breaking the kiss enough as you kissed his cheek and the corner of his mouth with a breathy whisper, “Put it in...please, I want you to do it.”
Nodding there wasn’t a question to be asked. Ushijima understood more than anything where he wanted his cock to go. You telling him only sealed the fact he craved no one else.
Gripping his cock there’s a second when you adjust your hips and allow his length to slip up between your soaked folds. Earning a pleasant moan to bubble up between your lips. Any other time you might have been worried to take someone so big. But that was the last thing in your mind right now. Consumed with need all you could think of was the stretch of his cock inside you.
Rewarded with the real thing faster than anything else. You gasp. Making him stop half way to which you panic and tell him through a loud moan to keep going. Ushijima can’t stop but sink his thick cock down to the base in your sopping wet cunt. Nothing he could even imagine prepared him for this.
“W-Warm-” The low rumble of a moan echoed in his chest. Ushijima unsure what to do pushed his lips back onto yours. Just the way your walls clenched around him and you engulfed his senses was ethereal to him.
“Move....how you wanna,” You whisper against his lips, “I want you to fuck me like you’ve been wanting to all these years.”
There was hesitation. You were right he had seen porn and what they did. But none of that seemed desirable. Right now all he wanted to do was feel you. Consume you. Make every fiber of his being tingle with your body.
Slow to start Ushijima began rocking his hips into yours. Each movement earning more than just a lowly moan from you. Assured that it was wonderful by your praise and touching all over him. Soon it became a need for him to snap his hips into yours. Watch you squirm under him, mouth agape and eyes locked onto him. Everything intoxicating to every single sense the man had.
“ ‘gonna cum-” You bite back a moan as your hips bounce with each forceful thrust, “I- I think I’m gonna cum-”
“Please-” Ushijima buried his face into the crook of your neck, panting, thrusts hard and deep as he felt himself approaching a familiar feeling, “Please cum- I want you-”
Tongue gliding over your parted lips and swallowing the knot in your throat. It’s nothing like the knot growing in your stomach. Boxed in completely by the enormous man above you. It’s hardly possible to snake your hand down to your clit. But when you do your free hand gripes the back of his neck as your fingers dance around your already sensitive bud, “I- It’s too much- Fuck-”
For a split second he wonders what is too much but that is dashed when the shudder in your body starts at your toes and every inch of you twitches under him. Sealing the deal for Ushijima when he feels nothing short of heaven when your cunt tightens around him in a way no mouth or hand could ever mimic. All that stamina in the world for nothing when he pushes his hips into yours. Desperate to follow your lead.
Rutting into you as deep as he can until the warm gush of cum overflows into your cunt. You’d never felt anything so intimate yet even as his lips found yours to kiss you. The twitch of Ushijima’s cock with each spurt of cum had you moaning into the kiss like a virgin all over again.
Both of you breathing harder than expected into the kiss. Finally came down from the high. His cock still buried in you and most of your body limp under him. You take a moment to swallow as you look up at the man before you. This time he was staring but you didn’t feel the need to turn away. Instead you smiled at him with a little giggle. And for the first time in nearly four years, Ushijima smiled back at you.

Minor Epilogue ;|
“Where’s Ushiwaka?” Korai dribbled the volleyball as he looked back towards the locker room.
Tobio looked up from his bottle after fiddling with the lid, “Hirugami didn’t say anything?”
White brows pinched together Korai bounced the ball as high as he could manage and huffed, “This is day three! He’s late and we get to wait for him!”
“You could just practice with Romeo and Sokolov before he comes.” Tobio offered without much concern as he grabbed the volleyball before Korai could catch it.
“Don’t break the lights Hoshiumi!” Hirugami shouted across the gym as he caught sight of one of the second youngest Schweiden harassing the volleyballs.
Grumbling to himself Korai snatched the ball back from Tobio, “Of course Hirugami-san!” Content with dribbling the ball at a much more manageable height, Korai looked around for a short stint at attendance, “You notice our manager has been late recently too?”
“And?” Tobio shouldered his duffel bag without a chance of even feigning interest in his teammates rant.
Brows still pinched Korai glared out at the double doors of the Schweiden’s gym, “I bet they’re hooking up. I bet- Look!” Korai skidded to a stop mid sentence when through the double doors it was the late Schweiden in question. Undoubtedly with their manager at his side. Like a detective Korai pounced on the chance to interrogate them but that was lost among the chaos when all of the Scweiden team witnessed Ushijima lean down and give their ever so wonderful team manager a kiss on the lips.
That’s when all insanity broke loose.
Korai was on them like stink on shit. Tobio and Toshiro ready to intercept Korai before his rabid-ness scared the new love birds away. Tatsuto wanting a better look at the drama amongst the crew. Leaving Fukuro and Nicollas to exchange glances at each other as they hoisted up the volleyball net.
“Is that Ushijima and y/n?” Nicollas peered over to the bustling drama at the front of the gym.
Fukuro, minding his own business, nodded, “Think they’ve been going out for a while now.”
Smiling as Ushijima’s face seemed stone serious as ever and y/n’s face flush red as the white haired Schweiden had some serious question, Nicollas laughed as remembered that feeling, “Ah young love....wish there was an educational course one could take when learning the affairs of the heart.”
Fukuro snort laughed and tightened the bindings on the net they’d be using for practice if they ever stopped their gawking, “Yeah, we call that sex ed here.”
Nicollas chuckled when he saw their lovely manager punch Korai in the side. Revealing the oddest sight of Ushijima smiling ever so slightly on his stoic features while the rest of the Scweiden’s rallied around the new couple as the two seniors could only stand back and laugh, “Sex and love education....I think we could all use that.”

hey!! i love your writing and all the blurbs from your august prompts!! if it’s not taken yet could you do #9 from the angst list with kirby dach? :) could you maybe make it gender neutral if you could? i loved how you did the one with barzy as a gender neutral reader!!
angst #9. "i know it hurts, just let me help."
pairing: kirby dach x gn!reader word count: 1.2k warning: mentions of anxiety, depression is alluded to
Everyone always said things would get easier, that the feeling of dread and despair would go away. That the anxiety wouldn’t bubble up every day, and that you wouldn’t sit by your phone waiting for bad news to come through. Everyone said the techniques the doctor implemented and utilized would work, that the coping strategies would be useful, and you wouldn’t have to worry if you were diligent with them.
It wasn’t that you weren’t diligent. You practiced grounding techniques regularly, your mind focusing on the big five senses as you tried to calm yourself down. You did everything you could to maintain the anxiety, to maintain the worry and the constant spit of dread and negative thoughts that circulated your head.
Regardless of what people said, you still found yourself curled up in bed, the lights down low and the television blank as you curled yourself around a pillow. The text messages appearing on your screen went unanswered as you disregarded the sound of the buzzing, the time flying by as you lost track of it, the hours blending into each other as reality morphed into imaginability, and what was real couldn’t be differed from imaginary.
Bad days were inevitable, you knew that they happened so often you knew that they were inevitable. They came about more when Kirby was gone, the normal routine habits you practiced when he was home disregarded when he was on the road.
You didn’t even realize the streaks of liquid on your cheeks, or the grumble of your stomach, or the ache of your muscles, your body begging you to move, begging you to get out of bed. You just… couldn’t.
This bad day… wasn’t just a bad day. It had started as a bad week, the start of the week just as catastrophic as the end, and nothing had gone the way you wanted it to. It was one thing after the other, one more thing to drag you down, one more thing to push you into the well that Kirby and you had pulled yourself out of.
You barely acknowledged your phone as you heard the incessant buzzing, the sound so irritating you had to grab it, Kirby’s name flying across the screen as it asked whether or not you wanted to pick up. Pressing the accept button, you quickly put it on speaker and placed your head back on the pillow below.
“Hello?” the words mumbled out; a sigh of relief heard on the other end of the phone.
“Jesus, Y/N. I’ve been texting you all day, you haven’t answered anything. I was starting to get worried.”
Prepared to shrug your shoulders in response, you realized he wouldn’t be able to see it. “I’m fine, Kirb. Just been sleeping.”
“Is that Y/N? Let me say hi to them, Kirb… come on man, give us your phone,” you didn’t even feel the joy you usually did when Dylan and Adam tried to pull Kirby’s phone from his grip, a smile not even crossing your face.
“Get lost, fuckers. I’m trying to talk to them, go call your own partners or something… or do anything that doesn’t involve bothering me.”
You could hear the two boys mocking him through the phone, their voices lowering the further your boyfriend got from his teammates.
“You’ve just been sleeping huh? It’s almost 8pm, love. Have you even eaten anything today?” Kirby’s voice lowered, his worries evident in the way his tone softened, and his words became more pleading, more concerned.
“Haven’t been hungry, so no.”
A small groan fell from Kirby’s lips at your words. “You can’t just not eat, Y/N. We’ve talked about this. Even just a few snack things, my granola bars are still in your cupboard. Or even some pasta. I can UberEat’s you some food?”
“I’m fine, Kirby. I’m not hungry.”
A harsh laugh fell from Kirby’s end of the phone, “You’re not fine. You don’t spend all day in bed, not eat and not answer any of my texts when you’re fine.”
Pulling the comforter tighter around your body, you pressed your body flush against your body pillow as his words circulated throughout your head.
“I’m fine, I’ll be fine. Can I let you go; I want to go back to sleep? My body hurts, my head hurts, I’m exhausted, and I just want to sleep,” practically whimpering out the end of the sentence, you could feel your eyes squeezing shut as you tried to keep the tears at bay. You could feel your hands itching to rub against each other, your thumbs aching to push any movement to deter the thoughts running through your head.
Kirby’s going to get fed up with this. I’m too much for him, too much when I’m like this. I can’t deal with this right now. Not right now, not ever. He’s going to get fed up and leave, just like they all do, he doesn’t care enough for this.
“Y/N…”
“I’ll see you when you get home, Kirb. Have a safe slight.”
The hours passed by in a blur, sleep invading and evading your mind throughout the time, your mind shifting in and out of coherency. You barely even registered the bedroom door open, the light from the hallway flickering in and illuminating the front of the room.
You knew you probably looked like a mess, the clothes you had been wearing since last night still adorning your body, the sheets all rumbled, the room dark except for the television screen that had the ‘Are You Still Watching’ screen that had been present for hours. It looked like you hadn’t left your bed in days, and if Kirby were to guess that… you wouldn’t even be able to deny it.
“Yeah, yeah. Just got home, dad. Can I give you a call tomorrow? Yeah, Y/N’s home, just gonna watch a few shows with them and go to sleep, I promise I’ll call tomorrow. Yeah, yeah. Love you too, okay, bye. Yup, tell mom I said hey, okay.”
Dropping his phone on top of his travel bag, Kirby took in the room surrounding him, a small sigh crossing his lips when his eyes fell on you, your body still curled under the covers and wrapped around the pillow. Tugging off his suit jacket and pants, he crawled into bed, his back pressing against the headboard behind him.
“Y/N… I know it’s hard, and I know it hurts. Just let me help. That’s what I’m here for, please stop shutting me out, I love you. I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t, please let me help.”
You could feel the onslaught of tears almost immediately, your body curling in Kirby’s direction as you tried to keep your composure from completely breaking.
“This week has just been… so terrible,” you whimpered out the words, Kirby’s hand pressing against your back as you sniffled, your hands going out to clutch to his body, a sense of comfort falling through your mind when you felt his warmth pressed into you.
“I know, love. I know. It’s okay, let it out. I’m here, I’m here to help, it’s okay. It’s okay, let it out.”
His lips pressed to the crown of your head, your breathing shallow as you tried to get a grasp of the air leaving your lips. Everything from the week was finally crashing down around you, the sobs bubbling up in your throat, Kirby’s hand rubbing soothing circles into your back as the tears fell down your cheeks.
“I’m here, okay? I’m always here. We’ll work through this together, I promise. I’m sorry you had such an awful week, I’m here to help. I love you.”
note: ah thank you so much for requesting <3 im so happy to hear you loved the barzy one, so i hope you love this one just as much!

Arrangements and Relationships

Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Reader & Steve Rogers x Reader

You sat on your bed in tears. It was as you danced with Steve that night at Tony’s party that you had watched over his shoulder as Bucky had left with another woman. Technically, he had every right. The two of you weren't a couple. You had been sleeping together for seven months and you were desperately in love with him, but he had told you many times he didn’t want a relationship. He never told you why, but he insisted that what was going on between the two of you stay casual. You had agreed but, stupidly, you had fallen for him and watching him take another woman to his bed hurt. You knew he probably had before but he had never done it in front of you.
So, here you sat, heartbroken and berating yourself. You made up your mind as the tears fell. Your relationship with Bucky is over. You can’t do it anymore. It was too painful to be in love with someone who didn’t love you back. You got in the shower to wash away the night and the evidence of your tears. Taking a long look at yourself in the mirror, you square your shoulders and remind yourself that you’re an Avenger, a strong woman, and better than how he’s treating you. With those things in your mind, you head towards your bed to find Bucky stretched out on it waiting for you.
Bucky gives you a sexy grin, “Hi Doll.”
“What are you doing here?” You say, shocked.
Bucky smirks and stands up, “I wanted to see you.”
“You wanted to fuck me.” You cross your arms.
Bucky pauses for a second but then makes his way over to you, “What’s wrong?”
“I don’t want to do this anymore, Bucky.”
“I didn’t sleep with her, Doll.” Bucky shrugs.
“Because you backed out or she did?” You raise your eyebrow.
“Doll…”
“Exactly. I can’t do this anymore.”
“Why not? Because I thought about sleeping with someone else?” Bucky mocks.
“Because I love you and…” you shake your head at the stupidity of admitting that, “And I’m nothing but a fuck to you.”
“That’s not true. You’re my friend and my teammate. But you knew, you knew when we started this I didn’t want a relationship.” Bucky says.
“I did. I went into this eyes wide open but it hurts too much now. Like you said, this isn’t a relationship, it’s not like I’m breaking up with you. It's an arrangement, and I'm ending it.”
“Doll, come on, this is ridiculous. Nothing happened!” Bucky grouses.
“Bucky,” you take a deep breath, “I’m not mad. I’m hurt but that’s not your fault. I’m not blaming you, but I can’t. I can’t do this to myself anymore. I deserve better. I want to be with someone who loves me and you have made it very clear that you don’t. And that you won’t. So, it’s time for this to end. Okay?”
“I don’t want to end this.” Bucky says.
Your heart leaps for a moment before you force yourself to pull it back, “Why?”
“I thought we were having a good time.” Bucky says.
“We were but I’m not anymore.” The exasperation comes out in your tone.
“Why not? It’s not like you don’t come multiple times when we fuck.” Bucky seethes.
“Because I don’t want someone who just wants to fuck me and leave.” You shout. Bucky looks at you angrily and you force yourself to take a calming breath. “Look, I want a relationship and you don’t. I want to be with someone who wants to stay the whole night and talk about our day and… and… and love me. Really love me” You walk to your door and open it, “Goodbye, Bucky.”
Bucky walks to the door but, before going out, he looks at you, really looks at you, and he sees the hurt he’s caused. It hurts his heart a little knowing he caused it. He never wanted to hurt you and in a way he did love you. “Can… can I kiss you one last time?” He asks quietly. You lick your lips and nod. He brings his hands up to your neck and caresses your jaw before bringing his lips to yours. He kisses you deeply and you kiss him back putting all the emotion and love you felt for him into it. When he pulls back he looks at you tenderly and whispers, “Bye, Doll.”
You close the door behind him and slide to the floor, “Bye, Love.” You whisper before the sobs wrack your body.
--
The first couple of months were rough. Especially when Bucky started dating or, more accurately, sleeping around. It wasn’t uncommon for him to have two or three different dates a week. Then he began dating one of the lab techs named Cara. At first, it ate at you. He hadn’t wanted a relationship but suddenly he was in one. It was after you got to know Cara a little bit that you realized how sweet she was. She was intelligent, kind, and gentle. It was impossible to dislike her and you found a small part of yourself hoping that Bucky had found what he needed.
It was at that point you realized you had gotten over Bucky. It had taken months, but you understood, finally, that you couldn’t give each other what you needed. You had spent the time focused on work, missions and training. Steve had begun to look to you for tactical planning and mission reports. You were working more closely with him and training together daily. You became his second for missions more often than not and eventually that bled into your personal lives. The two of you began to lean on each other. You were there for him when Sharon broke their relationship off to take a job in Europe and he brought popcorn and old movies when your dates didn’t work out. He had become your best friend and confidante. You had even admitted to him what happened between you and Bucky. He had comforted you and never once judged you. You were happy and everything (except your love life) was going well.
Well, everything was going well until your latest mission. It had just been you and Steve on this one. You were in the middle of nowhere Minnesota, in below freezing weather, chasing down a Hydra operative. Unfortunately, the idiot decided to off himself with cyanide once cornered. You had rolled your eyes as he had hissed his final words, “Hail Hydra.”
“Original,” you mock him.
“Damnit.” Steve says from behind you.
“Language, Cap.” You joked at him. He had a worse mouth than just about anyone, but you never liked to pass a chance to poke fun at him.
“Stupid motherfucker!” Steve shouts.
“You better be talking about him.” You needle Steve, who rolls his eyes at your smirk. “Let’s head back to the truck.”
“Race you?” Steve grins.
You playfully kick him in the butt while laughing. He can outrun you easily and knows it.
“Hey!” Steve laughs and puts you in a loose headlock. You put your arms around his waist and hug him to you quickly.
“Yeah, it’s a good thing you can outrun me cause I could totally kick your ass.”
“Haha. Get in the truck, psycho.” Steve’s nickname for you makes you roll your eyes.
“Sure thing, nutcake.” You throw back at him.
It’s late in the afternoon and you head to one of the local motels as your exfil wasn’t scheduled until the next day. Surprisingly,  the parking lot is nearly full. Steve comes out from the office and drives the truck to one of the few remaining parking spots.
“Apparently, there’s an ice fishing tournament and everything is booked up. There, uh, was a cancellation, so we got the only room available.” Steve says.
“Okay.” You shrug wondering why Steve is acting so squirrely. Grabbing your backpack, you jump out of the truck and follow Steve to the door. You notice a little plaque next to the door reading Honeymoon Suite in swirling letters. You let out a bark of a laugh. “So, the only room left was the honeymoon suite? Oh, man, I can’t wait to see this.”
Steve tries to hide his blush but you could see it a mile away, “Yeah. Sorry.”
“Hurry up. I’m freezing.”
“Yeah, sorry.” Steve says again and pushes the door open. He lets you enter first and you take in the room as you throw your bag on the beige loveseat near the entrance. The room is actually nicer than you expected. The king sized bed is covered in a dark green comforter and white sheets. The walls are painted a serene cream color. There’s a heart shaped jacuzzi tub in one corner of the room which makes you giggle. Thankfully, there is also a shower in the bathroom. A large television takes up most of the room on the dresser against one wall.
“This isn’t too bad. Did they say what time the diner closes?” You ask.
“Nine. Why don’t I go pick us up some food and you can get a shower?” Steve offers.
“That would be amazing.”
“Burger and fries?”
“Yes. And um…” you hedge.
“Pie?” Steve smirks.
“You know my weakness for diner pie.” You say with your hand over your heart.
Steve grins at you, “Go take a shower.”
“You’re the best, Rogers!” You shout as you grab your bag and shut the bathroom door.
A few hours later you’re stretched out on the bed while Steve lounges on the loveseat. You had found the movie Ever After on the television and had forced him to watch the retelling of Cinderella with you while you both scarfed down burgers and pie.
“Mmmm, happy endings. I love them!” You say as you stretch your muscles from sitting in one position too long. “Did it bore you to death?”
“No, it was cute. I liked it.” Steve yawns.
“Ready to hit the hay?” You get up to brush your teeth.
“Yeah. I’ll sleep on the couch.” Steve says.
“Steve. That couch is too small for me to even sleep on. You’ll sleep in the bed. It’ll be fine.”
“You sure?”
“It’s not like we haven’t laid in bed and watched movies together before. Not a big deal to sleep in the same one.” You roll your eyes.
When you're done in the bathroom, you and Steve switch places and you curl up on one side of the bed. Steve glances at you nervously as he gets in the bed next to you and lays on his back stiffly. You stop yourself from giggling, but your smile can’t be contained.
“What?” Steve breaks a small smile when he looks over at you.
“You scared I’m gonna attack you are something? Steal your virtue?” You release the giggle you’ve been holding in.
“No.” Steve rolls to face you. “I just don’t want to make you uncomfortable.”
“You don’t, Stevie. I think I’m more comfortable with you than I’ve ever been with anyone.”
“I’m glad.”
“Me, too,” you whisper as you lean over to kiss his cheek but Steve turns his head and your lips meet unexpectedly. You pull back quickly and stare at him in shock. You look into his big blue eyes and realize why none of your dates ever seem to work out. None of them are Steve. None of them can compare in the slightest to the man now staring at you with his feelings written all over his face. “Steve?”
“I love you.” He says firmly, leaving no room for doubt. You do the only thing you can, you kiss him. His mouth melds to your and he pulls you against him. Wrapping your arms around his neck, you open to him and he explores your mouth with his tongue.
When Steve pulls back he sees the tears in your eyes but you smile at him, “I love you, too, Stevie.”
--
A few weeks had passed since that fateful night with Steve. While you hadn’t announced you were dating, you didn’t hide it either. Everyone knew and you were excited for Tony’s party tonight. Steve and you would be making your first official appearance as a couple. You had just put the finishing touches on your ensemble when Steve knocked.
“Come on in, Love. I’m ready.” You turn towards the door excited to see Steve’s reaction to your dress only to find Bucky standing there. “Oh. Sorry, I was expecting Steve.”
“You look gorgeous, doll.” Bucky says quietly as he shuts the door.
“Thanks. I’m sure Cara will look beautiful as always.” You smile nervously.
“We broke up.”
“Oh, sorry. I didn’t know.”
“Yeah. Last week.” Bucky shrugs.
“I’m sorry to hear that. Are you okay?” You ask.
“Yeah. She, uh, she said I wasn’t in love with her. She said I wasn’t over you.”
“Why would she say that? We were never a couple.” You stare at Bucky in confusion.
“I told her about us. About how we were before.”
“Oh, but-”
“And she was right, Doll. I’m not over you. I miss you so much. I’m so sorry about before. I was scared and I didn't know how to handle it. I love you. I love you so much. Please tell me it’s not too late.” Bucky looks at you desperately.
“Bucky… I, I don’t. I’m sorry, I don’t feel that way about you. I love Steve. I’m happier than I’ve ever been because of him.”
“Doll, you could be happy with me. Please. I know I messed up. I know I hurt you, but I love you. Please-”
“Bucky! No. Stop this. I’m sorry. I don’t want to hurt you, but I don’t love you anymore. I’m so sorry to hurt you, but Steve is the love of my life. Nothing and no one could ever compel me to give him up.” You say firmly.
Bucky’s face hardens suddenly, “Then I’m sorry, too, but I’m going to have to tell him about us. Doubt he’ll still want you when he finds out he’s getting sloppy seconds.”
You look at Bucky sadly, knowing he’s lashing out because he’s hurt. “That should tell you how little you really know me or ever knew me if you really think I went into this relationship without him knowing. He knows about our history, Bucky, and he loves me anyway.”
“My best friend? Of everyone, it had to be him?” Bucky’s voice cracks.
“We didn’t plan it, Bucky. We were colleagues and then friends and then… we fell in love. And we’re happy. I want that for you too, Bucky, but it’s not with me. We weren’t meant to be.” You smile to yourself, “I never knew I could love someone as much as I love Steve. I hope you can find that.” You hug Bucky tightly. “You’re a good man, Bucky. You’ll find someone. Someone you’ll love more than you ever thought you could.”
Bucky hugs you tightly to him but lets go when you pull back. You smile at him sadly and he nods before walking towards the door. He turns back with his hand on the knob, “If he hurts you, I’ll kill him.”
You smile and nod your head as Bucky opens the door. He stops short face to face with Steve, who is standing on your threshold. The two men stare at each other for a moment before Steve holds his hand out. Bucky shakes Steve’s hand and nods, “Be good to her.”
“I will be. Always.” Steve says. He closes the door after Bucky leaves.
“Hey Love.” You smile at him and start to move towards him when he holds a hand up to stop you. Your stomach drops at the gesture.
“Stop there. Now turn for me.” Steve’s mouth quirks as he says it. You do a slow turn to show off your dress. “Gorgeous. Come here, sweetheart.” He envelopes you in his arms and you breathe deeply of his scent.
“How much did you hear?”
“Pretty much all of it I think.” Steve pulls back to look at you, “You’re the love of my life, too.”
“I love you. More than I ever knew I could love someone.”
“Wanna skip the party and spend the night in bed?” Steve bobs his eyebrows at you making you giggle.
“Yes, but Tony would probably bust up in here and drag us to the party half-dressed,” you laugh. “Let’s go make our appearance, dance a little, and then you can bring me back here and show me exactly how much you love me.”
“Mmm, I like your plan.” Steve grins as he kisses you.

FWB HQ Boys: In which you beat the player at his own game!
warnings: Time skip spoilers, mentions of sex(all characters are 18+), alcohol, stupid people in love
a/n: ahh I’m sorry I’ve been a little MIA!!! But I’m back with this pls enjoy ! I think the fandom really make germaphobia his only personality trait sometimes which makes me sad because I think he’s actually a quirky/classy dude and very functional in social situations,, I hate to say it but ya’ll would get played by him… sorry.
━Sakusa Kiyoomi
Some of you may be like ???? Omi fucks around ?? how ?? BUT he definitely does in his own way
He probably doesn’t do much in high school to be honest, he’s mostly focused on improving as a volleyball player and achieving his goals
Once he reaches pro level though,,, it’s a different story lmfao
I can see him being picky as hell about his hookups, but just because he’s a bit of a germaphobe doesn’t mean he doesn’t feel attraction or doesn’t have needs…
….He’s so hot too… girl
His hook-ups are always taken seriously though… like he’s the type that feels like he has a professional image to upkeep, so he always arranges things beforehand; he’s definitely not messy about it and sets clear boundaries
I think what makes him kind of a player is how standoffish he can be…and he doesn’t really give anyone a chance because he doesn’t think they what it takes to deal with his lifestyle lmao
He’s just like, its easier to call the uber right after, get into the shower, and wait until he can hear the front door of his apartment shut I’m screamingg
Sakusa also isn’t one to kiss and tell, even with the boys… he doesn’t think its tasteful and would rather not have Atsumu up his ass about his flings
ANYWAYS,, let’s get into this, so you know Atsumu through mutual friends and met during college, and the two of you just instantly clicked since you also were a part of the same sports medicine program as him
Atsumu signed with MSBY and you were so happy for him, but you were bummed because you were busy with PT graduate school and couldn’t really attend any of his games
A year passed and you found yourself texting Tsumu to see if he could meet up and grab coffee since you were on winter break!!
You: hey I’m back in town wanna grab coffee sometime?
Him: who is this
You: I see you haven’t changed ❤️
LMFAO, so you catch up with Atsumu and he talks about his new career and his teammates, he seems so happy :(( we love to see that!!
He invites you to MSBY’s game the following weekend, and you’re pumped to go!! Tsumu got you great seats, and he meets you before warmups to make sure you’re okay finding your way around
Atsumu: don’t take yer eyes off me <3
You:
He’s so…
You’re enjoying the match and you even go to grab Onigiri from Osamu’s stand, but you can’t seem to look away from number 15 on Atsumu’s team
He’s .., scrumptious to say the least 🥴
Like he’s so composed and calculated on the court, and you find it so funny how he rolls his eyes whenever Tsumu says something to him and how Tsumu gets so heated about it 💀
The match ends and you go down to meet Atsumu near the lockers, showing the security your family/friend pass 😌
You walk through the halls trying to locate the setter, but you can’t seem to figure out where he is
The only person in the hall is the tall, dark haired man that caught your eye earlier; he is already walking towards the exit with a mask covering his face, his duffel bag slung over his shoulder, sweats embroidered with “Sakusa” adorning his body we’re all looking..... respectfully
He’s truly so intimidating but you’re like….highkey lost… so you don’t really have another option
You catch up with him, poking his shoulder gently; he turns around and his attention on you is almost STARTLING.. like his eyes are SO dark
Him: can I help you
You: sir… if you don’t rail me, I’m gonna have to intervene‼️😈😹
After getting over your initial shock, you hear multiple footsteps rumbling down the hallway towards the both of you
Sakusa lets out an annoyed sigh, muttering about how he has to go, but before he can escape you hear Atsumu’s loud voice LMFAO
“OMIIII, where are you goin’? Its team karaoke night remember?”
Tsumu sees you and slings an arm around your shoulders, “Oh-? So I see you’ve met our outside hitter Omi?”
You glance over at Sakusa, his expressionless eyes glued to your face, then slowly trailing down to analyze the way Atsumu casually has you tucked under his arm
Atsumu nudges him, and he grumbles that he’ll meet them after changing at home before walking off in the direction of the private parking garage
You meet the rest of the MSBY boys in the uber, and find them super friendly and welcoming; Bokuto and Hinata buy the first round of drinks at the karaoke bar, but you only have one because you have work to finish the next day WE STAN
Atsumu already has a pink glow setting into his cheeks when you see the boys turn their attention to Sakusa walking through the front door, looking as handsome as ever in his dress pants and fitted white t shirt
They all shout out incoherent hello’s, and he takes the only open seat next to you with a glass of gin and tonic in his hand he smells so good god
You’re unsure what comes over you, but you find yourself turning towards him, and you just start asking him about himself and his career, and surprisingly he’s very polite and much more animated than you previously thought
His voice is like…so alluring and he never looks away from you when you talk, its like he’s absorbing every word
Meanwhile, Atsumu is stumbling over the stage with Bokuto belting Love by Keisha Cole LMFAOO😭
Tsumu kind of ‘warned’ you in the car ride over that Sakusa was a germaphobe, but you know that Atsumu tends to invade people’s personal space sometimes and it probably wasn’t as dramatic as he made it out to be
However, you weren’t expecting the outside hitter to lean over from his seat after checking the time on his phone, whispering in your ear, asking you if you wanted to meet him at his place later than night WHEW
Girl I would be sweating… and you say yes ofc because who’s going to pass up this type of opportunity-
He gives you a charming smile and is like,, okay cool, I’ll see you later then 😊 I’m dead
Ya’ll exchange phone numbers and he’s like if you need any help with my idiot teammates let me know before he takes off
You don’t tell Tsumu about your little… entanglement plans dsnjaknda but honestly he wouldn’t even remember based on the way he’s slumped against you in the uber he owes you big time
You get home after dropping off Tsumu at Osamu’s, and operation dick appointment with the professional volleyball player is put into action 😈
He sends an uber over to get you ladies do not settle for less please, and you’re BIG nervous but in a good way as in you know this dick is about to be bomb af
SO you’re standing in front of his apartment door, and when he opens it, he’s still in the clothes he wore to the bar and its like 1 am he’s so powerful
Um I feel like he would get straight to it honestly, probably starts with a little convo on the couch and then…
YOU WEREN’T AWARE HE WAS SO DIRTY,,, it was SO good too like after getting home that night you’re going through a crisis… like you had so much chemistry together for having just met, and you wonder if he feels the same way🥺
You caught yourself in sleepless states some nights, kept awake by the thoughts of the way his hands felt against your skin, the way his five o’clock shadow gently rubbed against your face when you kissed, and how he would hold you(only after a thorough shower together of course)
As it happens more and more, he lets you into his life little by little, and you notice and remember small facts about him and he often remembers a lot of the things you tell him about you, its really enjoyable for both of you
Its weirdly domestic to a point but that’s why its so good for both of you???it adds a bit of spice ??
Sakusa: can you come over tonight
You: sorry the retainer is in already <3 no dick sucking for me tonight <3
Him: I bought pastries from that cafe you like
You: say less✈️ I’m coming💃
AND he HAS jokes okay, like he’s funny as hell and very witty when his true self comes out; but he’s also a HUGE tease and he’ll say something completely straight-faced that someone else might take offense to like “you look ugly,” but you just know he’s kidding from being around him long enough and from seeing the little glint in his dark eyes
It becomes a routine thing while you’re home honestly, and you try your best to hide it from Atsumu because you just KNOW you would never hear the end of it; for all he knows, you met him that one time at the bar and that was that
Everything is going smoothly until you slip up at one of their games
You were sitting in the waiting area with the team (mostly talking to Atsumu), when he just says something that makes your short circuit
Atsumu: what kind of animal do ya think omi would be? An octopus maybe?
You: yeah I mean with those flexible wrists it makes sense
Atsumu: what the fawk🤠
He’s like… how do you even know about his flexible wrists IT TOOK ME 6 MONTHS TO GET TO THAT STAGE WITH HIM-
Oops, lmfao so you kind of tell him about everything and he’s literally shocked for you, mostly because he doesn’t want you to get hurt :(
Atsumu: So I see he’s just sleeping with ANYONE anyone
LMAO noo he definitely thinks you’re too good for him and he kind of lectures you, telling you that he had a hunch that he messes around with girls like that, but also you’re an adult and you can take care of yourself, and it isn’t like it’s a serious thing!!
Meanwhile, Omi is like going through a bit of a crisis all alone because everything around him reminds him of you or something you said when you were together
He got with people who were compatible sexually often, but he never had the urge to have them stay over after the deed; he usually immediately called them an uber and wouldn’t speak to them again
He found himself thinking about seeing you in the stands at his games, wishing you were there to cheer for him only, and he adored the way you respected his boundaries unlike many of his hookups
Atsumu probably notices something is off with him at practice
Atsumu: hey…if ya ever want to talk about somethin’-
Sakusa: no
Girl… he doesn’t disclose any of this to anyone
Its nearing the end of your break, and you head over to sakusa’s for probably the last time before you go back to school
You’re kind of at the point where you don’t think anything will happen and you know you shouldn’t get your hopes up, and it goes how it usually goes? Except he kind of hugs you goodbye and your heart goes: 🦋🦋🦋
You go back to school, occasionally texting Tsumu about your graduate program, and before you know it, like 5 months pass by and you’re back for summer!
Tsumu texts you and is like… sorry but I’m forcing you to be my plus-one tonight for this dinner thing I have to go to
So you dress up and he comes to pick you up, and you’re really not sure why you were surprised to see Kiyoomi sitting at the table when you arrive you give Atsumu a nice smack on the back of the head for not warning you
You sit down at the table after greeting everyone, trying your best to not act awkward when you shoot sakusa a small smile that he returns politely (but you don’t see it because of his mask)
Atsumu sits weirdly close to you the entire dinner with his arm around the back of your chair, and he’s just acting strange in general??? Like he’s bragging about your degree program and about your accomplishments, you just know he’s trying something funny; but you don’t really say anything because you don’t want to disrespect him in front of the team’s staff as a guest
You almost choke on your wine and you catch on when Bokuto starts making comments after Atsumu says something,
Atsumu: …so yeah, pretty much she should be our next president in my humble opinion
Bokuto: 🙈WOAH. WHAT?😍 HOW COULD SHE GET ANY BETTER⁉️🙄 OR HOTTER⁉️💪🏼💋
You, sitting there: 🧍‍♀️
He’s so bad at acting I’m crying..,, it becomes so obvious that they’re trying to make Kiyoomi jealous
(the boys plotted beforehand, trying to get Omi to ask you out officially; after you left, he literally would never shut up about you whenever Atsumu mentioned you, and it was just obvious he was in his feels when it came to you)
Atsumu: she’s studying at a café tonight for finals
Sakusa: Yeah so I’m glad you brought it up, because I’ve been thinking about it for days. Fine I guess I’ll say it. Her favorite coffee blend is French roast and she only likes a dash of sugar with a lot of cream, but it has to be hazelnut creamer or else she doesn’t like any-
Everyone in the gym: 🗿
LMAO ANYWAYS ITS LOWKEY WORKING you look over at him and his face is like stone.. girl..
The dinner is almost over and Atsumu gets up to go to the restroom with a wink I hate him, and you get up to catch a breath of fresh air outside
You sit on a bench for a minute, calming yourself down after the eventful dinner, but then you see the door to the restaurant swing open, Sakusa looking around the corner before spotting you
Your heart pounds in your chest as he walks over and asks if he can join you, inspecting the bench before sitting down, pulling his mask down as well
He eases into a conversation by just asking you how you’re doing, basic stuff, but then in the middle of you going off on a tangent about your stupid professor, he stops you
“I missed you.”
He crosses his legs, not looking at you as he takes your hand, intertwines it with his, and places it in his lap
You gaze at him, taken back at his confession, noticing the slight pinkness tinging his pale cheeks
You say you missed him too, and then he’s asking you if you would like to go on an actual date with him
You: wait are you asking me out officially?
Him: Yes. No I’m not. Yes I am❤️
SKSLD Please he’s awkward help him a little, you agree and then you hear a tap on the window behind you, you turn around to see Tsumu, Bokuto and Adriah behind you with big grins on their faces LMFAO 🤡
Kiyoomi rolls his eyes, but you don’t miss the small upturn of the corners of his lips as he hears Bokuto happily scream through the glass

The Confession (Part 2)
You had a crush on your friend Bokuto Koutarou in high school. Though he rejected you, you moved on years later. Or so you thought.
Part 1
wc: 2.3k
A/N: This was requested through an anon however I won’t be taking requests off of originals anymore. Truthfully this was really difficult to write since the rejection was actually something that had happened to me about a month ago with a pretty good friend of mine. Anyways feel free to send me requests and headcannons of other things! My inbox is DRY!!
Tumblr media
“Hey. Let me in.” Bokuto’s voice sounded clear as day over the phone.
“I didn’t know you were back in Tokyo. Why are you outside the apartment?” You were on the brink of sleep when he called.
“Didn’t Akaashi tell you that I was visiting? It’s been a while. C’mere.”
You sighed. Bokuto has tried his best to keep in touch with you since he had graduated. The first year was simple per usual. Though you admitted you distanced yourself from him. However since you and Akaashi became roommates and started college. You just didn’t have time.
“Hey. “ You quietly opened the front door to let him in. He looked good as ever. He pulled you tightly into a hug as he sighed into your hair.
“Long time no see, huh?” He pulled away and started walking towards your bedroom. You yawned as you followed him inside. He stood at the door way as he studied the walls. You tapped on his shoulder gently and stepped around him to sit on your bed.
“So are you gonna crash on the couch again?” You yawned. He nodded. Still standing.
“I’ve had something on my mind for a while now and I’ve gotta say, I was wrong.” He said plainly.
“About?” You body perked up in bed. His golden eyes turned to you. The moonlight that peaked through the blinds illuminated his face.
“I didn’t think I’d be able to do it, but I have more time than I could have imagined since I’ve gone pro-“
“What are you talking about?” You propped yourself up, swinging your legs onto the ground. Bokuto wasn’t the kind of person to sound cryptic.
He sat on the bed beside you, now looking to the ceiling. Studying the cracks, the texture before returning his gaze to you.
“You know. Two years ago I said no because I thought it would be more beneficial for the both of us. I didn’t want to hinder you at all. So I acted like it meant nothing.” He sighed as he laid onto your bed. Eyes back to the ceiling. You swallowed a lump in your throat. What was he talking about?
“I don’t even know if you’d even still be interested. I mean we don’t talk as much. It was even a little awkward for a while.” He continued.
“I was hoping that you would want to give it a try.” He closed his eyes as he sucked in a breath, flailing his arms behind him.
“Give what a try?”
His body shot straight up and he looked at you knowingly.
“You know!”
Your hand quickly clamped onto his mouth.
“Akaashi’s asleep right now. You need to be quiet.”
He nodded as your hand slid down onto your lap.
“You know!” He whispered. “When you asked me out and I said no.  That whole thing. I want to date. Or at least try.”
You gave him a dumbfounded look.
“You’re funny, Bokuto. I’ll give you that. I think I’m going to go to sleep now, I’ll see you tomorrow.” You began to get under your blankets, facing away from Bokuto.
“But, I”m being serious.”
“Goodnight, Bokuto.” You heard him sigh as the weight from the foot of your bed lifted. Your bedroom door creaked closed. You stared at your bedroom wall. The smallest, dumbest conversation made your feelings resurface.
-
“So where is she?” Bokuto dug into the breakfast that Akaashi had prepared for them.
“Oh? She’s on a breakfast date with some guy from her biology class.”
Bokuto froze with his spoon in his mouth.
“Date?” His voice is slightly muffled by the utensil. Akaashi nodded as he pressed his coffee cup to his lips. The steam fogged up his glasses ever so slightly.
“Yeah. I think he asked her last Friday. She left about two hours ago.” He placed the cup on the table looking at him knowingly. Bokuto stared into his food and flipped it over, cutting it into small bits. Akaashi glanced at his friend as the front door opened.
“Hey! Oh Akaashi! I didn’t know you were cooking this morning!” You looked over the counter before you reached into the cabinet to  grab yourself a plate.
“You’re still hungry?” He questioned.
“Yeah! We ended up eating pretty quick and walked around the park off of campus! It was pretty nice!” Once you realized that Bokuto was poking at his food, you sunk awkwardly into the chair next to him. He didn’t say a word or even look at you.
“So!” You took a bite of your second breakfast.  “What do you two have planned out today?”
“I have to go to a study group for English tonight. I’m not doing too well.” Akaashi stood to pour himself another cup of coffee. The sound of the liquid sputtering into the glass raised an unbeknownst tension between you and the gray-haired man beside you.
“I guess we can watch movies or something.” Your stomach dropped with the realization that your roommate has class at noon. Akaashi checked his watch as he slung his bag over his shoulder.
“I’m going to class. See you guys.” As soon as the door closed the silence was deafening. It felt like the two of you were sitting there for an hour, when in all reality the two of you finished eating in silence for three minutes. You made a poor excuse that you were going to take a nap. He tried to bicker with you to spend time with him, but you ignored the man as your bedroom door loudly closed behind you.
-
You groaned as you sat up in bed. Rubbing the sleep from your eyes, you rose and made your way to the kitchen. You slowed as you saw Bokuto looking around in the fridge. Using his other hand he was using a towel to dry his hair.
You let out a breath you didn’t know that you were holding. What do you say? Or do you not say anything. May as well pretend that the run in never happened. Again…
Turning on you heel, you proceeded to go back to your room, when a hand grabbed your shoulder,
“Y/N.” You turned to see Bokuto. Face to face he gave you a small smile. Drops of water littered his forehead. He was so close.
“When are we gonna talk about last night? Or are you gonna brush it off until I leave?” He spoke in a low tone. His eyes not leaving yours once. You attempted to turn away from him, but he yanked your wrist towards him. Nose to nose now, you gulped as you leaned away from him, but he followed.
“Why’re you avoiding me?” His eyes reflected the dim light from your kitchen stove.
“I’m not-”
“I know when you’re lying to me.” HIs grip tightened slightly. Bokuto’s breath fanned your face. Your eyes scurried, looking everywhere, but him.
“Just tell me.” He said gently.
“You don’t get to do this to me.” You squeezed your eyes shut, turning your head away from him once more,
“Do what?”
“Do you understand how long it took for me to get over you? I had to pretend like it didn’t bother me for the end of the year! I never ever told Akaashi what happened because I didn’t want it to affect the dynamic of our friendship. I was in love with you and I had to deal with that. You don’t get to tell me that you were wrong and you finally want to go out. You don’t get to say whatever you want so loosely when I know it doesn’t affect you the way it does me!”
HIs hand fell slack to his side. His head tilted to the side. His face was solemn.
“You know that’s not true.” His voice was barely above a whisper. You held your wrist that he held to your chest. At this point your body was trembling. You didn’t know whether to laugh, cry, or yell.
“I knew you liked me. I didn’t want to hold you back at all. I didn’t want to be a let down to you when I left. I took the last two years to be a better version of myself so that we can work out. I just wanted to be normal for you.” He clasped his hands together awkwardly. You nodded before waking to your room. He called after you, his footsteps creaking after yours. You slid down to the floor. You felt the door shudder on the other side, assuming Bokuto had done the same, tears began to slide down your cheeks.
Hugging your knees to your chest, Bokuto began to speak on the other side of the door.
“You know. From the moment I saw you I liked you. You accepted me for me and I loved that. I loved spending time with you everyday. I enjoyed every second of it. These negative thoughts kinda began to eat at me.” He choked on his sentence. You heard a deep inhale before he continued. “What if you get sick of me. I saw how my teammates would treat me sometimes. But I couldn’t help with the way I acted. It was just me. I couldn’t change that some things had me down in the dumps. Then it was the whole what if she likes me back? She’ll date me and then look at me how everyone else does. She’ll be around me too long and I’ll have to put up a front that’s actually appealing to you so you won’t leave. Just you leaving.” His voice faded.
You studied the wood floors at your feet. The way the crevices connected into each other. You made patterns along them to pass the time. Words couldn’t escape your lips. The minutes passing felt like hours. Your heart had a dull ache.
“And then you said that to me in the gym that day.” He began.
“When you said that, it was everything that I had ever wanted to be truthful. Though at the same time all I could think of was why would you like me? I don’t dislike myself by any means, but I just couldn’t understand why someone as good as you could like me. I couldn’t say yes and let you down. So I said no. Then I saw you the next day and it was like nothing had happened. So I assumed that it wasn’t a big deal to you. I assumed that it was just a simple phase of your life for you. And for me…  For me..” He paused.
“I’m going to sleep. I’m sorry that I disrespected your personal boundaries. I’ll leave in the morning. I wish you the best.”
Tears silently poured from your eyes. You looked for patterns in the wooden panels again to soothe yourself. Maybe this was for the best. Just to part ways…
No.
You shakily rose to your feet, resting your hand on the doorknob, you took a deep breath before opening the door. Your legs carried you to the living room. But Bokuto wasn’t there. The blankets that he had used to sleep on the couch were nicely folded on top of the pillow he had used. His gym bag was gone.
You went to the bathroom. The lights were off. Towels were hung nicely. His toiletries were gone.
You ran your hands through your hair as your stared around the room anxiously. Tears threatened to spill from your eyes once again.
Exiting the room you made way to the kitchen. A note on the fridge.
Y/N, Akaashi
I had to get back to Osaka early! Coach called me earlier and I didn’t want to inconvenience the two of you since you guys were already asleep.
Till next time
Bo
You crumpled the note in your hand. It had probably been at least fifteen minutes since he had left your bedroom door. He couldn’t have made it that far.
You took off through the front door. Barreling down the stairs you made it to the street. You turned the corner to the train station, you saw him.
“Koutarou!” You shouted. The tall man turned to see you. His eyes were red and puffy. He took the palm of his hand to wipe at his eyes.
“You know Tokyo is dangerous at night. You shouldn’t be running around. You’re not even wearing any shoes. What if someone littered and you stepped on a broken bottle.” He cried harder as he kept looking at you. He took both of his hands and covered his eyes.
“Koutarou, the trains aren’t running right now. Come back with me.”
He shook his head. “I don’t want to inconvenience you. I know you don’t want to be by me right now so I’ll just sleep in the station until they start running.”
You froze in front of the man as he turned his head away from you, continuously wiping his tears away. Not once in the three years that you had known Bokuto Koutarou had you seen him cry.
You stepped towards him slowly. You arms wrapped around his back and you pulled him into a tight hug. You began to sob. You felt your body tremble as cries silently escaped through your mouth. You felt his hands clasp around your back, pulling you closer to his chest.
“Shhh.” He attempted to soothe you. Running his hand repeated over the back of your head.
“You don’t need to cry just because I can’t handle my emotions. You have that guy you’ve been getting breakfast with. You’re doing great with school. Just don’t worry about me.”
You lifted your head off of your chest to meet his gaze. He gave you a sad smile. Reassuring you that it was okay. He had streaks down his cheeks from where his tears had fallen. You used your thumb to wipe them away.
“But he’s not you.”
You gently pulled him down by the nape of his neck and placed your lips gently on his . His eyes widened in shock. You pulled away, giving him a small smile.
“I hope you know that I would never ever get tired of you. I like you for you. Nothing could ever change that. We’ve waited long enough. Let’s finally give us a try.”
“Really?” His hands rushed up to your cheeks. He held your face as if you were the most delicate thing to exist. Tears welled up in his eyes once more.
“Really.”
He placed his lips on yours once more. Turning his head to deepen the kiss, you placed your hands gently atop of his. You could feel him smiling with every motion.
Pulling away he placed a kiss on your forehead.
“Let’s go home.” You stuck your hand out towards him smiling. Your features glowed beautifully under the streetlight. He placed his hand into yours and the two of you returned to your home.
