#like Loki and Thor both look like they were just vibing their whole lives together

aside from the jokes about Thor not wearing enough clothes, do you really think Thor is a thot? Cause I saw him politely kissing Jane’s hand in the first movie and getting all bashful with her in the 2nd movie and got the impression that this is his first relationship.
That may be so but being a thot is a state of mind

Thor has always been a brother figure to you, you grew up together after all. He was someone who was always there for you when you needed him, but mostly got on your nerves intentionally. He found enjoyment in your grimaces and child-like sulking. Regardless of how irritating he was at times, you loved him dearly. However, Loki was different. You never looked at him as a brother or a friend. You pretended to see him in that light, of course, not wanting your secret to be revealed, but your feelings for him were deeper, rooted in a romantic interest.
You tried to hide it and treat them equally, but at times you found it rather difficult. Sometimes you wished to run up to Loki to give him a hug, whilst you fist bumped Thor, but you knew if you differentiated them, your secret would be at risk. So, you pushed your emotions aside and used a logical part of your mind to make decisions that would ensure the safety of your secret.
Though you carefully planned out how to go about your feelings, others had different ideas. Loki always voiced how he just wanted to be an equal to Thor, someone who had just as much opportunity, someone who received as much love and care, someone who was no different, but when it came to you, he wanted to be above his brother, he wanted to be first and more important to you. He wasn't happy with your carefully concocted plan to be stuck on the same level as his brother, especially because he didn't feel he was.
Loki was growing tired of being a shadow of his brother once again. He wanted you to look at him differently, to treat him as though he was more important to you. He had to admit he was jealous and though the word itself made him enraged, he tried to conceal it. He envied the relationship you had with Thor. Even though you thought you were careful and treated them equally, Loki's genius mind was clouded by his emotions, his jealousy.
Thor and Loki's relationship had been a rollercoaster, but finally they were at peace with each other and even Odin was proud of his younger adopted son. Everything seemed finally calm between the brothers, but it didn't matter how proud his brother made him and how supportive he had been towards Thor, Loki found himself taken over by an envious storm once again.
He leaned against the door frame of your room in the Royal Palace of Valaskjalf, his arms folded in front of his chest, his body language screaming indifference. He acted as though he couldn't care about the loud laughter that left your lips, the small crinkles appearing beside your eyes or the way you threw your head back as another fit of laughter erupted from your lungs. Loki tried to pretend that it didn't affect him, that his heart didn't ache from the sight of another man making you laugh wholeheartedly as he watched from the side-line. But deep down he was burning in jealousy, eating him up from the inside. He knew he should have been happy for you as a friend and he tried, many times before, but he couldn't control the little demons that discouraged him from ever expressing his feelings to you. He believed, if it came to making a decision between him and his brother, the mighty Thor, the God of Thunder, you would choose his brother without a hint of doubt. The feeling of not being equal, only a second to Thor once again messed with his head and as he stood in the doorway, watching you laughing at something his brother told you, he made a decision he felt was long awaited.
"Why do you keep standing there? Come here," you smiled softly as you patted the golden couch beside you, offering him a place to sit. But instead of taking up on your offer, he just shook his head with a solemn expression. "Is everything okay?" You asked, slightly worried about the look on his face. Instead of a reply, he just nodded. With a heavily beating heart, you stood up from the sofa and walked up to him, placing a hand on his face, gently caressing his cheek with the tip of your thumb. "You look troubled. Is there a way I could help ease your worries?" You asked, eyes filled with hope to help the man you loved so dearly.
Loki wanted to lean into your palm, enjoying your soft touch against his skin, the connection making him feel as though your mere presence radiated safety, a feeling he only felt with you. But he had to remind himself of his plan. He grabbed your wrist and with a harsh movement pushed your hand away from him. His actions surprised you, making you slightly jump at the unexpected reaction. The coldness in his eyes was unfamiliar, your concern for him greatly growing. "I don't need your help," he replied firmly, a chill running through your spine at the emotionless tone. Even when you did something silly, he was always there to reassure you that it was all going to work out, because whatever you wanted, you were capable of achieving. He was always there to encourage you and offer you his endless support. He was the one who always kept you in one piece, even when you were going through hardships. But as he stood in front of you with his gaze empty, his jaw tightened, his tone cold and emotionless, something felt off and you weren't about to let it go.
"You are acting strange, Loki," you spoke with a deep frown across your brows, your eyes studying his face, trying to understand what could have gone through his mind.
He raised a questioning brow as he tilted his head. "No, I'm not. Perhaps you just don't know me well enough," he shrugged nonchalantly, his whole demeanour making you feel as though there was an invisible wall between the two of you.
"That's ridiculous. I know you, Loki. We have been friends for long enough," you scoffed at the absurdity of his words.
"You are no friend to me," he spat the words filled with hatred. A silent gasp left your lungs, his words painfully piercing through your chest, as though a dagger stabbed you in your heart. Feeling your chest tighten, your air cut off for a mere moment, you stumbled back in your place, your knees weakening as your brain processed his words. Loki didn't mean what he said, the words he spoke weren't the ones he meant to say, but they escaped involuntary and regardless of how painful it felt, he couldn't take them back.
"Loki!" Thor raised his voice warningly at his brother, but both you and Loki ignored him.
"What are you talking about? I don't understand you," you grabbed his arm desperately, but he just shook it off. He could see the pain in your eyes, the tears threatening to escape. His only wish was to wrap his arms around you and apologise repeatedly, to tell you that he didn't mean a word he said, but he couldn't do that. His pride stood in the way, the thought of being a second again enraged him.
"Wasn't I clear enough. Must I explain everything in detail?" He spat in anger. He didn't want to hurt you, but before he could have even thought of the words he wanted to say, they escaped him without a warning.
"But Loki, what have I done?" Your voice was tiny as though it wasn't even your voice. It was weak and desperate, somewhat needy. None of what Loki said made sense and the cold look in his eyes, the firm stance he took up on, it wasn't the Loki you knew.
"Nothing," he replied with a straight face. "You are simply no use to me anymore," he spoke, his words even surprising him. He didn't mean to make you feel as though you were a toy, he grew tired of. He realised it was time for him to not say another word. He knew what he had done, he knew you hated him and that it was too late for him to take it back. Opening your mouth, you were ready to strike back, but no sound left your vocal cords. You stood in front of him as if you were a fish out of water, suffocating. Tears fell down your cheeks, streaming down heavily as the words finally reached you. You were of no use to him anymore.
The sight of your tears, the devastation he saw in your eyes made Loki internally scream. It reminded him of the last words he spoke to his mother, breaking the heart of the person he loved more than anyone else. And now as he stood in front of you, intentionally hurting you, he just wanted to travel back in time and take it all back. The look on your face terrified him, the thought of causing you pain made his heart churn in agony. He couldn't bear to watch your heart shatter right in front of his eyes, all because he was a coward.
But you weren't a fool, you knew something was wrong. The unshed tears you desperately tried to keep from escaping blurred your vision as you stood in front of him unsteadily, wiping away the remaining evidence of your silent cries. Grabbing his arm once again, this time you didn't let him shake you off and you purposely changed your whole demeanour. You knew him, you knew who he really was, and you decided you weren't about to give up on him.
Your strong hold around him surprised Loki, he didn't expect you to cling to him after he treated you so disrespectfully. Once again, he tried to shake your hand off, but you didn't give in. There was a raging fire of determination in your eyes that Loki couldn't place and certainly couldn't understand. You caught his facade crumble for a mere moment only, wavering under your stubbornness, but it was enough for you to know there was something behind his nasty behaviour. "You can't fool me, you dumb man. It doesn't matter how hard you try," you hissed in anger as his cold exterior once again trembled at the sight of your firm stance against his ruthlessness, but he quickly rearranged himself as though he realised his slip-up.
He roughly removed his arm from your hold, your gaze capturing his stunned look once again, long enough for him to know you weren't hurt anymore, you were mad. Your eyes held anger as you looked up at the man and you didn't plan on hiding it. Loki knew he had gone too far and seeing your heart broken and enraged wasn't his plan. He just wanted to distance himself, never to feel like a second behind his brother, but he had gone too far. Before he could have made another foolish decision, he turned around with his jaw tightly shut, his fingers curving into a fist as he left you without a reply.
"Loki!" Thor shouted after his brother, but he didn't turn back. "I will talk to him," Thor shot up from the sofa and squeezed your shoulder reassuringly with a pained smile across his face.
"He is too stubborn to listen. There is something else behind his behaviour," you replied through gritted teeth, wanting nothing but to punch his younger brother.
"Then I shall bring him back so you can talk to him," he offered, earning a nod from you as he hurried after his brother, his heavy steps still audible from a distance.
You couldn't understand what had gotten into Loki, you couldn't pinpoint where this absurd behaviour and disrespectful manner came from, but the way he talked to you, the coldness in his eyes were ones you have never seen from him before. At least not towards you. His distanced behaviour lit a raging fire within you, wanting to confront the mischievous god, giving him a piece of your mind. He hurt you, it was terrifying to hear those words leave his lips, but the anger you felt towards him overpowered the initial aching in your heart, the heavy weight sitting on your chest.
Loki rushed through the corridors of the Royal Palace in haste, not being able to look at you any longer. He didn't mean for things to happen the way they did, he didn't mean to hurt you. When he realised what he had done, the only thing he could do was run. He knew he was a coward, but the pained look on your face terrified him and as soon as he realised you weren't having any of his foolish play, it scared him. His whole plan was reckless and stupid, he knew, but he couldn't find it in him to walk back to you and apologise. Loki thought if he was to go back, he would have to watch you growing closer to his brother and he couldn't bear the thought of you and Thor together.
So, he fled Asgard.
It's been a week since Loki disappeared and you couldn't handle not knowing where he was, what he has been doing, why he acted the way he did. You thought after all this time your anger would subside, but it weighed on you heavily just like on the day Loki decided to hurt you. A part of you was enraged, wanting nothing but return the pain you felt, however another part of you was worried about him, concerned for his safety. Walking up and down nervously in your room didn't help your case. Thor's letter about finding his brother awoke hope in you, but not the kind where you wanted to jump in his arms anymore. The kind that gave you the opportunity to tell him what a coward he was for running away.
A guard knocked on your door, pulling you out of your thoughts. He didn't need to speak, you knew Loki and Thor were back. You gave clear instructions to the guards to inform you upon their arrival. In haste, you headed to the entrance that led you to the Rainbow bridge, a storm of thoughts swirling around in your mind, scenarios upon scenarios playing every possibility of your reunion.
As you stepped outside the arch of the entrance, you caught sight of the brothers. Thor pushed on Loki's back as though he was a prisoner. He even wore a pair of handcuffs to stop him from trying anything. Frowning at the sight, you tilted your head innocently, Thor's actions seeming a bit much for your liking. You wanted Loki back, but if he didn't come on his own, did it really make a difference? You knew he would only listen to you because he had no other options.
Whilst Thor's extreme measures slightly bothered you, the anger that you have been harbouring screamed louder in your mind than to care about how he returned Loki. Whether with or without Loki's consent, you were to lash out on him, because he deserved it after the way he treated you.
"Well, well, well, look who found his way home," you arched a brow, but he didn't look at you. His gaze was fixed on the ground, not daring to meet your eyes. "Uncuff him, please" you instructed Thor, who did as he was told, knowing he had no place to join your disagreement. He helped as much as he could, he brought his brother back, but whatever was going on between you and Loki was none of his business, so after a reassuring nod, he left you.
Loki massaged his wrist where the handcuff cut into his flesh, but still didn't dare to lift his gaze. Everything seemed more interesting to him, but you. It angered you even more, but instead of losing control, you tightened your jaw and squeezed your lips shut. You patiently waited, though you didn't know for what. An apology maybe, an explanation, even an annoyed groan, but Loki was silent. Silence wasn't his strength, the man loved to talk, and this side was certainly new to you. For a mere second it occurred to you that he might have changed, and you just misinterpreted him the last time you met. But those thoughts quickly disappeared as you remembered his facade fall for a second, seeing him vulnerable even if for a mere moment.
"So, is this how it's going to be?" You asked with a straight face, hoping to earn a reply, some words maybe or even a sound. But Loki kept his lips sealed. "Look at me!" You raised your voice, but he didn't lift his gaze, he avoided meeting your eyes at all costs. There was a certain hopelessness you felt, a part of you burning in anger to know more, to have some sort of an explanation, but he didn't give in. "Talk to me!" You shouted at the man, but he just tightened his jaw and kept quiet.
Loki wanted to talk, he wanted to apologise, he wanted to look into your eyes and see what he had done to you. But he didn't have the courage to see the damage he had made. He was afraid of what he would see, the raging hatred in your eyes, the pity for the pathetic person he was, the anger his cowardness lit within you. It was all his fault, and he knew he had no right to speak, not even to apologise. His words would mean nothing to you, he let himself treat you so rudely after all.
"Talk to me! Open your mouth! You could never shut up, why are you starting now?" You asked, enraged at the silence. Walking up to him, you started hitting his chest, each blow harder than the previous one, but Loki just took it diligently. "Why are you doing this?" You shouted as you pushed on him, desperately trying to get him to say something, the silence driving you mad. Loki though he didn't have the right to stop you, each blow you struck at his chest was well deserved. He would have taken even harder punishments, he deserved it after all, but if that was what made you feel better, he would let you keep hitting him.
Your next blow halted in mid-air, tears collecting in your eyes, ready to escape. "Do you really hate me that much?" Your voice barely a whisper, a weak voice you have never heard from yourself. Loki's eyes found yours for the first time, swallowing visibly at the words you used. The thought of him ever hating you felt impossible for him and as he watched your desperate gaze, he knew he needed to say something.
"I could never," he replied finally, earning a shaky sigh from you.
"Then why are you doing this?" You asked, hoping that the barrier he so carefully pulled up between you would finally crumble. But no other words left his lips. He was silent once again. He didn't know what to say to you, he couldn't possibly be honest. He knew you would look at him as though he was a pathetic man and he never wanted to see you look down on him. He was better off being hated by you than to ever feel like you pitied him. He knew he deserved it, what he had done was unforgivable in his eyes, though he couldn't get himself to tell you that. "Speak!" You shouted once again; your desperate tone shook him out of his thoughts. He locked his eyes with yours, searching for more than rage, but you were harbouring so many emotions, he couldn't possibly read you.
You had no idea what was going through his mind, the only thing you could see in his eyes was a mess. Swirling emotions and thoughts, you could barely read the man. You needed answers, but as you looked into his eyes, you couldn't possibly find them. You needed words, confessions, explanations, apologies, it didn't matter, but the only way you could understand him was spoken words and he denied them from you. His silence made your head spin, feeling hopeless in your situation. Once again you hit him on the chest as though that was the only reason, he replied to you.
"You big, old, man-child, open your mouth and speak!" You shouted at him, striking another fist full of blow against his chest. "Say something!" You screamed, filled with rage. "After all you've said, you had the audacity to run away, flee from all the problems you have caused. How could you do that? Do you realise how worried I was? Not knowing where you went, what you were up to, if you were even in one piece," you cried. You thought he didn't care, but you had to say it, you had to let it all out. "Your words hurt me and I'm so mad at you, I want to hurt you as much as you hurt me, but I was still worried. I'm as much of a fool as you are," you breathed in a calmer manner. Loki's eyes grew in astonishment. He expected your anger, lashing out on him, but he never expected you to worry about him, to show such affection. Not after all he has done to you, not after he has broken your heart.
"I'm sorry," he breathed weakly against his better judgment. The desperate need in your eyes, the anger building up, the tears collecting, he knew he needed to say it. He didn't want to be a coward anymore and as hard as it was to accept it, he couldn't care less if he was only a second to his brother. If he could only remain beside you as a mere friend, he was to do everything in his power to earn your forgiveness. "I'm so sorry," he repeated himself. Your eyes grew wide at the apology, if anything those were the last words you expected to hear from him. His head fell forward, his gaze fixed on the ground. Loki was never one to apologise, let alone seem so guilty. You felt as though you had entered a completely new territory. But it didn't make you feel less hurt or upset.
"Do you think an apology can erase it all? Do you really think a simple sorry is enough?" You asked with a straight face, arms folded in front of your chest. Of course, Loki knew it wasn't enough, but it was a start, however minor it seemed to be.
"No, it's not. I know I've gone too far," he spoke as he lifted his head, searching for your eyes. His voice was heavy with emotions, his cold demeanour falling into pieces. "I didn't mean anything I said to you, I didn't mean to hurt you. It was not my intention," he took a deep breath as though he needed time to carefully plan his words. "I'm a fool and I don't expect you to forgive me, but I am sincerely sorry for what I have done," he breathed, his shoulders falling forward, his usually self-confident appearance now seemed weak and vulnerable. You had to stop the urge that wanted you to wrap your arms around his frame and tell him that it was alright, because whilst you felt bad for him, it was all his fault. He hurt you, he spoke those words that felt like daggers twisting your heart.
"Why, Loki? Why did you talk to me like that?" You asked, needing an explanation. The Loki you saw that day was indeed different from the person you knew, but the reasons behind his behaviour were beyond you.
"Because I thought it would be better," Loki debated to be honest with you, but as he looked into your eyes, your gaze desperate for the truth, he couldn't deny it from you. He knew you would look at him differently, he knew you would be even more enraged, but you deserved the truth. "I didn't want to be a second again. Finally, everything fell into place with my father and Thor. I felt equal, which I wanted to be for so long. But once again I found myself in my brother's shadow and I couldn't handle it. I was a fool and I thought if I pushed you away, I wouldn't have to repeat the same mistakes again, but I did," a heavy sigh left his lungs as he searched for the right words. "I never meant to hurt you, but I couldn't bear to be stuck in my brother's shadow again," you furrowed at the man, his words making no sense to you.
"I always treated you the same. Why would you think you were in his shadow? I love you equally," you attempted to convince him, but he just shook his head.
"Maybe you think you did, but I was envious of your relationship with him. I know, I'm the worst, but I couldn't control it," he scoffed at his own words. "I didn't want to be a close second, I didn't want to be an equal. I wanted to be more important to you, but I knew it would be impossible," your eyes widened as the words left his lips, a silent gasp escaping your lungs.
"More important?" You asked with a stunned expression. "Why?"
"Because my feelings for you aren't platonic," he confessed, his chest feeling lighter as the words finally left his mouth. He wished to say it for so long, regardless of how terrifying it seemed. Whether you felt the same or not, he felt as though the heavy weight previously seated across his chest was now finally gone.
You stood in front of him in utter shock. You longed to hear those words since the very first time you realised your own feelings, but you could never imagine hearing them. It felt like you were in a dream, a blissful moment. As the puzzles finally started to make sense, you walked up to him and wrapped your arms around his neck. "You are a fool," you breathed against the skin of his neck. Your sudden affection surprised Loki, but his arms involuntarily wrapped around your waist, pulling you closer. "Did you really push me away for this? Couldn't you just say something?" You asked as you tightened your arms around him.
"I was afraid," he confessed, his words weak as though he found them hard to declare.
"If you were just honest, this whole situation could have been easily avoided," you replied as you pulled back to be able to look at him. You placed a hand on his cheek, caressing it gently. "If you asked me, if you had spoken to me, I would have told you the truth. I haven't seen you as a friend for years. My feelings for you grew a long time ago," you confessed as Loki's eyes grew wider. "You were never a second or an equal to Thor in my eyes. You were always more important," you spoke as you brushed his hair behind his ear.
"I'm so sorry," he breathed as he finally found his voice and pulled you closer, hiding his face in the crook of your neck, enjoying your embrace around him. "Thank you," he murmured against your skin.
"What for?" You asked with a deep frown.
"For your existence," he replied, earning a loud chuckle from you.
"You're welcome," you snickered playfully. "Though I'm still mad at you," you warned him as you pulled back to establish eye contact. "You will have to make up for all the mess you have created," you spoke with a straight face, your words strict, but holding no anger.
"I will do anything in my power to earn your forgiveness. Anything!" He declared. He knew he was a fool, but he wasn't stupid enough to hurt you ever again. He needed you to forgive him, because he knew he couldn't forgive himself until you had done so.
"You could start by declaring your undying love for me," you giggled with a mischievous smile across your face.
"Excuse me?" He asked, eyes wide in surprise.
"You could start asking for my forgiveness by kissing me," your voice was less confident than the first time, fearing you have been too bold. But as soon as Loki processed your words, a heartfelt laughter escaped his lungs.
"Yes, ma'am," he replied as his laughter died down and placed a hand behind your neck, meeting your lips halfway, kissing you in haste, wanting to pour all his feelings in that kiss. He needed you to understand all those feelings he has been harbouring silently and he was ready to give you anything you ever wished, even after he has finally earned your forgiveness.

Chapter 24: The Photoshoot
The baby shower that had been strictly no gifts had ended up with a handful of gifts anyway.  They were mostly clothes - though Sam’s sister bought a breast pump that she had sworn by, while Loki and Angela had brought protective totems from Asgard.  There were a few plush or little wooden toys from people too.  Rhodey had bought all the kids, starting from Riley and Pietro, Cat in the Hat t-shirts.  Riley’s was labeled Thing One, Pietro’s Thing two, and then there were four tiny baby t-shirts labeled things three through six.  Phil got a little bundle of onesies that had funny little round cat-like blobs on them and the slogan ‘I love all my mommies and daddies’.
The party was fun but exhausting and Wanda, Natasha, and I all ended up going to bed early that night and sleeping right through.
Afterward, Wanda was very excited about doing a pregnancy photoshoot.  It wasn’t too hard to convince Natasha to in the end.  Partially because the pregnancy had been going so well for her and she wanted to commemorate the time she finally got past everything the Red Room had done to her.  But mostly it was just because she loved Wanda so much and she wanted her to have anything that made her happy.
We all headed out to the Avengers facility in upstate New York for the photos.  It was surrounded by forest and by the river so that we could give Wanda the full Earth mother vibe that she’d been cultivating.
We had three ideas in mind.  One was outside and two would be in the old house.  We started with the tamest version.  Wanda, Natasha, and I all put on long, flowing georgette gowns, our hair loose, with flower crowns.  Wanda wore magenta with matching roses, Natasha - black with black orchids, dotted with red poppies, and I wore a sky blue with delphinium and sea holly.
We were going with a family shoot to start with so everyone else wore white linen.  The kids both had baby’s breath threaded through their hair and were very excited to be out in the woods with the family and the dogs.  We did photos of them kissing tummies.  Of our whole group walking in a line through the woods with Wanda, Natasha, and I in the middle.  All of us lying in the grass everyone cuddles up to the three pregnant women.  Photos of hoards of hands on bellies.   All the standard pictures you see when you think of pregnancy photoshoot in the woods only there was a gaggle of us.
When the kids seemed to grow bored of the photoshoot we all headed back to the house so Wanda, Natasha, and I could change and they could play with the toys they hadn’t seen for the last month since we’d been back.
Wanda, Natasha, and I changed into lace gowns the same colors as the others.  These weren’t normal lace gowns though.  They were strapless, and while the empire cut bodice was solid the skirt was completely transparent and opened right down the middle exposing our bellies.  We paired the dresses with lace boyleg panties.  Wanda wore black, Natasha red, and I wore white.
We stayed inside for these photos and posed in sexier and more intimate poses with each other.  We would drape ourselves over couches and the bed.  We cuddle up to each other and put our hands on each other’s exposed bellies.  There were photos of us kissing and caressing each other.
Finally, we stripped down to our underwear for the last part of the shoot and hopped in a tub with milky white water together.  The photographer decorated the outside of the tub with flowers and candles and floated flowers around us in the tub, so the three of us were all floating, with our heads on the edge and our bellies poking out of the water towards the middle, our legs tangled together in the water.
By the time we were done, I was pretty tired and hungry.  We changed into sweats and ate with the others before the three of us went to take a nap.
I woke up to a shift of the bed beside me as the whole thing swayed.  I opened my eyes as whoever had climbed into bed with us wrapped his arms around me and turned to see Thor.  Natasha was already gone and Wanda had started to stir beside me.
“Good evening, my queen,” Thor said, kissing my neck.  “I was sent to wake you up.”
“You gonna do it by getting me all worked up?” I complained, backing my ass against him.
“You’re always waking us with kisses and soft touches,” Thor said.  “I was merely returning the favor.”
“You’re not an overly hormonal pregnant woman,” I huffed.
“No, that is true,” he chuckled.  “I am a man though.”
I started giggling and Wanda moved closer to us.  “What’s happening?”
“Dinner will be served shortly,” Thor explained.  “I was sent to come and wake the both of you.”
“By getting me all turned on,” I pouted.
“I can tell,” Wanda teased.  “Which isn’t helping me at all.”
“I am sure I can help both of you with your problem before the meal is served,” Thor said as his fingers traced over Wanda’s nipples.  “Who would like to go first?”
“Elise,” Wanda said, quickly.  “The two of you can bring me close before you touch me.”
“As you wish, my love,” Thor said, leaning over and kissing her deeply.
As the two of them kissed, Thor slipped his hand into my pants and began to slowly roll his hips against my back.  I could feel his erection starting to press into me as he rutted against me, but he took his time, teasing my clit and kissing the side of my neck.
Wanda leaned forward and kissed me, her lips parted as they brushed over mine, and I followed her lead, bringing my tongue out to meet hers.  I moaned softly into the kiss and ran my hand up into her hair.  She hummed and shifted closer, our bellies touching against each other.
She pulled back and lifted my shirt over my head.  As she did thor pushed my pants and panties down in one go.  He shucked off his own clothes and pulled me tighter against him, so his erection sat against my asscrack.  Each time he rolled his hips his shaft moved up and down the crevice.
His hand returned to my cunt as Wanda leaned down and pulled one of my nipples into her mouth.  I mewled and tugged on her hair as my arousal started to seep from within me.  Thor’s fingers worked my clit quickly and with practiced ease, sending shivers running through me and making my whole body vibrate in anticipation of more.  A small spark danced off his fingertips, sparking against my clit.  I gasped and came then and there with no warning, jerking between them as my cunt spasmed.
Thor chuckled.  It was a deep booming sound that made me feel warm right to my core.  “That was quick.”
“You cheated,” I teased playfully.
“I am sorry, let’s see if I can do this properly,” he laughed, and lined his cock up at my entrance.
“Don’t do anything to hurt the babies,” Wanda said, looking over my shoulder at Thor.
“My life,” Thor said.  “I am a fertility god, I know what I’m doing.”
I started giggling but it was cut off by a gasp as Thor thrust into me.  He didn’t allow any time for me to adjust, he just began to thrust into me from behind.  Wanda resumed sucking on one breast and then the other.  She was feeding off both mine and Thor’s pleasure, and as we began to moan with it, so did she.
She flicked her wrist and a small ball of pink light ran down my skin, between my legs, and began to vibrate against my already oversensitive clit.  I mewled and jerked back between them, my legs trembling.  One of my hands tightened in Wanda’s hair and I reached behind me and gripped Thor’s arm with the other, tethering myself to them both.
“Oh god,” I gasped, quivering between them.  “Won’t last.”
“Whenever you want, Elise,” Thor rumbled as he continued to snap his hips into me.
I tried to relax, but my muscles spasmed and clenched.  I dug my fingers into Thor’s arm and he wrapped his hand around my throat and tilted my head back to him, fiercely kissing me.
Things became hazy and I couldn’t focus on anything except the building pressure in my cunt and the tendrils of pleasure that spread out from my breasts.  Wanda increased the buzz from her energy projection and moaned loudly as my cunt suddenly seized up.  I cried out, breaking the kiss with Thor as I came hard, shuddering between them.
Thor slowed his pace, fucking me through my orgasm before slipping out of me and climbing over us both.  He positioned himself behind Wanda so he was spooning her the way he did me, and cradled her carefully.  I kissed my way down her body as helping Thor undress her as Thor rutted slowly against her.  When we’d removed her shirt, I latched on to one of her breasts and sucked on her nipple, drawing a sharp gasp from her.  Thor pushed her pants off and began to slide his cock up and down her soaked folds.
I kissed down lower, over her baby bump where the strings of light only I could see connected me to both her and the twins growing inside her, and down to her cunt.  Thor adjusted her hips back and eased his cock inside her.  She moaned softly and I lifted her leg and began to lap at the place where they joined and up over her clit.
“Oh!”  She gasped and her hands tightened in the sheets.
“Are you okay, my beloved?”  Thor asked.
“Oh yes, Thor,” she mewled.
He began to thrust and I sucked greedily on her clit.  The flavor of her arousal filled my mouth as I lapped up her fluids.  They were musky and sweet and heady in a way that almost made me drunk on her.  Each flick of my tongue made her moan more loudly and she seemed to have trouble controlling her limbs.  She gripped at the sheets pulling them free from the edge and she kicked out, her toes curling.
Her clit began to twitch under my tongue as her breathing became ragged and Thor’s hips started moving faster, stuttering as he came closer to his own release.  I sucked Wanda’s clit into my mouth and flicked my tongue quickly back and forth over it and with a loud cry, Wanda came, her powers flaring out and engulfing us like an embrace.
Thor groaned and jerked up into her, releasing.  I could feel the pulse of his cock at the base against my mouth as he filled her.  Their fluids mixed together and leaked from Wanda down Thor’s shaft.  I licked up the cocktail of their arousal greedily and climbed back up the bed as Thor slipped from Wanda.
“Now, now, my loves,” Thor scolded, sitting up.  “We have to join the others for dinner.  You can’t go back to sleep.”
“Just five more minutes,” I joked, cuddling up to Wanda, making her giggle.
Thor gave my butt a playful spank.  “Come along.  None of that.”
Wanda and I got up, laughing as Thor helped us get redressed and we headed down to join the rest of our family.

"Gi-i-irl..." Wanda drawled, seeing me arrive with Tony, both of us freshly showered and still hazy from the amazing orgasms. God only knew what she'd seen in both of our heads - if judging only by the vivid, crimson blush she spouted, it was definitely something very NSFW. Bruce already sat at the dinner table, quietly slurping his soup, his back and shoulders the most relaxed I'd ever seen. He gave me a knowing smile once he noticed my presence in my usual spot by his side.
The rest of the team appeared completely oblivious, preoccupied by their food.
"So, about the party. Got any costume ideas?" I cut straight to the chase, unwilling to wait for Wanda to start asking for details right in front of everyone.
Steve, Bucky, Pietro, Thor and Natasha all answered affirmative, the latter whacking Clint upside the head and firmly stating "no funny business". I couldn't help but wonder what kind of crazy shit the Bird had in mind and was kind of disappointed at Nat's intervention. A good chaotic moment was always worthwhile in my opinion!
The other bird, Sam, approached Bruce with caution as he wondered if the scientist was interested in doing a paired costume with him, only to be interrupted by Tony declaring, with childish glee, he had a "wicked project" that he and Bruce would be doing together. The scientist gave a resigned sigh and apologized.
Sam wasn't deterred by the slight setback; he approached Clint instead and after being given an okay from Natasha, the Birds decided to pair up. As they should, if you'd ask me.
"I have a costume but I need some accessories. Wanda, Lokes, join me on my lil' shopping trip?" I prompted, wanting everybody to be included. I was fully prepared for Loki to scoff and dismiss my invitation but the Asgardian nodded after a second of brief speechlessness. Didn't anyone invite him to birthday parties as a kid? Either way, Thor gave me a grateful smile, like a proper big brother. Both Asgardians had grown visibly closer during the past couple of months which made me hide a secretive smile behind a spoonful of soup.
It turned out, Loki hadn't exactly been introduced to the buzzing beehive that is NYC. He didn't get out much and when he needed to be somewhere, the man simply teleported to the desired destination. As convenient as it must've been, I still expressed my outrage at his lack of experience doing the usual "touristy" things that, in my opinion, every non-newyorker was obligated to do when visiting. Yes, even if said visitor had literally traveled across different galaxies.
Wanda wasn't much better in terms of city knowledge. According to her, she'd lived here for several years already but never bothered to go beyond the borders of the block surrounding the Avengers tower. The witch didn't have friends outside of her teammates (therapy. they all needed so much therapy. y'all...) so she simply saw no point in going anywhere beyond the local mall.
Which was trash. I mean, I loved Hot Topic and Forever 21 as much as any other young adult with depression and anxiety but it was literally impossible to wear clothes made out of cheap cotton and polyester all the time. I'm pretty sure I would have hives and ulcers if I attempted that.
"We're going on Sixth Avenue and that's final. No friend of mine will be wearing shit from Wal-Mart at a Stark party," I interrupted Wanda's defensive stuttering, using my other hand to summon an Uber.
"That is good advice," Loki, previously silent, added in a sweet tone. I counted on the fashionable Asgardian to be on my side and with his schmoozing skills, I didn't even have to drag Wanda inside the car by, like, her hair or whatever. The three of us barely fit into the small Toyota anyway.
A thought struck me when I had to consciously avoid stepping on Loki's leather shoes and keep away my elbow from Wanda's stomach. "Mister? I'll give you a hundred bucks cash if you turn around and drive to this address," I hurriedly rattled off my home address, delighting in the way the driver nearly did a U-turn at the mention of crispy dollar bills.
We arrived home quickly. Wanda gaped in mild disbelief at the size of my house while Loki looked about as interested as he'd ever be. His face was akin to an expression one made while smelling fresh manure. Opening the garage, I was greeted with an unpleasant surprise of my dad's outrageously painted Corvette standing neatly by my white Range Rover.
Loki looked and felt considerably less tense in the back of my car. The subtle signs of discomfort all but left his face replaced by slight wonder as I explained how to adjust the temperature and turn on the heated seats.
Dad met us at the gates. "You didn't come in to say hello," He pouted. His breath reeked like a five-day drinking binge hangover and he looked a dead man.
"We're in a hurry, dad. There's a lot to be done," I replied curtly, hoping to get rid of him fast. I hated being sober around my drunk father. My fingers twitched on the steering wheel.
"You're like your mother, always busy," Dad's laugh was coarse and bitter. "But at least you find time for Stark and his friends. That'll do your future real good," He clapped once on the hood of my car, heading back to the house with a wave of his hand, just in time to miss the disgusted shudder that ran through me.
I knew my dad well enough to understand the implications of what he meant by his words. In his world, fucking way up to the top was considered the norm. I'd rather cut off my own foot than use Tony that way.
"Sorry you had to see that. I thought he was still in Cali," I gritted my teeth, pulling out of the driveway.
"I'm sorry you had to experience that. I have no kind words regarding your father," Loki's look was sympathetic in the rearview mirror.
"Or your mother," Wanda added, messing with her seatbelt. Loki nodded tersely.
"Aight, aight," I sighed, set on improving the mood. "Let's not poop this party. We're getting some absolutely delicious beverages and wasting my money on outrageous pretty things. My treat."
Wanda's protests were drowned out by Motorhead and Loki's grumbling was overshadowed by Guns'n'Roses. Their resistance didn't stand a chance. Few blocks out, the witch was singing along to November Rain, heavily accented and terribly off-key, and the Asgardian watched New York city intently behind the protection of the tinted rear windows of my ride. He seemed mesmerized by the crowds and the variety of colorful shop fronts. This was the the one and only reason I eased off the gas pedal and drove the speed limit for once.
The atmosphere was, well, magical. Looking at my two companions, I discovered the familiar city anew with every question they asked, every remark they made. The desire to ask in turn about their homelands melted like the tension I was harbouring after the run-in with my father. Content and warm, I had my attention divided between Loki and Wanda juggling their wonder back-and-forth between themselves and the absolutely crazy NYC traffic.
So what if I parked in a no-parking zone just to get us the most delicious coffee in the city? Loki, the resident tea person, ordered himself something unpronounceable, something that made the barista twitch. Wanda got a sugary-sounding vanilla-white chocolate perversion. I just got a mocha, having had outgrown my adolescent desires to experiment with "how sweet can I make this coffee before I literally puke?" beverages.
With a laugh, I instructed them to pose in front of the nearest reflective surface to brag about our coffees on Instagram - this café deserved more recognition. My companions reluctantly obliged.
I wonder if the barista realized just who had bought the coffee - Loki was quite a media darling when it came to fangirls. Tony's PR team did a wonderful job on the Asgardian's redemption arc. The trickster only fueled the utter devotion his fangirls had for him by being extra nice and charming in every video I've seen. I guess you can't out-mindcontrol manners outta somebody, he was raised a prince after all.
It wasn't raining but the autumn chill seeped into the tiny spaces between my layers of clothing. I already managed to regret my fashionable dark academia inspired outfit at least twice, however the matching vibe all three of us had was positively dashing. Loki, wearing his usual onyx black and dark green. Wanda with a burgundy sweater dress and thigh high platformed boots - sweater dresses, out of all things, had no business looking this good on anybody. But she pulled it off.
"You said you've got a costume. Mind sharing what it is?" The witch said, curiously peeking into the windows of a nearby vintage boutique as we took our leisurely stroll with steaming paper cups keeping our fingers warm.
"A fairy dress. It was custom made for me last year and I actually didn't get to wear it. I need some jewelry to go with it," I explained, stopping to show a photo of the dress on my smartphone. "And some shoes, too. Let's hope the party will be held completely indoors, otherwise I'll freeze my ass off."
"Custom made?" Wanda squeaked, looking at the garment in wonder. Loki gave a vaguely approving nod.
"Yeah, there's a company that makes these fantasy dresses. You want one? What did you have in mind for your costume anyway?" I switched the topic quickly, seeing how Wanda withdrew into herself slightly. I heard from Peter she grew up poor, in the middle of a war and I didn't want to make her feel bad or anything. I wasn't good at these things...
"I thought maybe I could match with you," She replied, slowly taking a sip of her coffee.
"Sure. There are a couple of shops with really cute dresses that fit the aesthetic." Marchesa. We need a Marchesa store. And a Zuhair Murad - if there was one on this stretch of road. "What about you, Lokes? Anything in particular strike your fancy?" I asked our silent companion, frantically googling the information I needed.
"Black," He answered moodily.
"Boo, you whore," I rolled my eyes at his scoff. We had watched the Mean Girls recently and he got the reference, immediately raising a sarcastic eyebrow. "You know, you could do so much with this pale aristocratic look you've got going on. How about a medieval vampire?"
"Like Lestat? He's fucking hot," Wanda and I understood each other promptly. She jumped on the bandwagon immediately.
Combining my blunt honesty and her adorable fawning over a fictional bloodsucker, we managed to convince Loki into going on a hunt for brocaded, velvet suits and blouses with ruffles for his look. The trickster revolted at the mere suggestion of procuring some fake fangs, instead magically making them appear and showing them off in the middle of the crowded sidewalk, much to my and Wanda's delighted shrieking. He looked, I daresay, very attractive, like a porcelain figurine. Delicate but dangerous.
We arrived at the store that showcased beautiful, airy dresses of silk, chiffon and tulle. The lace was delicate and the seams invisible. I ushered Wanda into a dressing room with a shop attendant that was quietly but strictly instructed to not discuss the cost of the dresses and hide the price tags.
"I want it to be a gift. My friend here deserves no less than a magical experience," I explained quietly, winking at a bewildered Loki.
"Why did you do that?" He asked once Wanda was given a selection of several dresses in flattering colours and led into a separate dressing room.
"These dresses, they're special so they're a bit pricey. And knowing Wanda, she'll make a scene and refuse to let me buy them for her," I idly twirled my phone in my hands. "But every girl wants to be a princess and it's kinda sad she never got to be one. It's more than just a dress, it's more than feeling pretty, although it's a big part of it. She'll feel on top of the world."
Loki nodded. I'm certain he didn't understand it - being a man and all - and I wasn't sure I understood it completely, too. I never lacked pretty or expensive things, always got whatever I wanted whenever I wanted. But for a moment, I thought how it must've been for Wanda - seeing all these girls on TV, looking like pictures - and never having the chance to experience that. A concept that made me so sad, I was tempted to ask the customer service person for a glass of scotch. Being poor sounded depressing as hell.
Suddenly, Loki's cool, large hand landed on mine. "Thank you. I am certain Wanda will be the most beautiful lady at the ball."
I stared at him. Loki understood.
"Well, I... I don't know how finicky you are on gender labels for clothes, but there were a couple of blouses you might want to check out. They've got the neck ruffles and shit." My throat suddenly seized up and I had to clear it before speaking, steering away from the uncomfortably emotional moment. Thankfully, Loki wandered off without as much as a word.

What made it fuckin hurt though was the fact that Clint was ready to die because he didn’t want to see Natasha go through that death. He wanted to protect her. -the goodbye between Steve and Bucky was perfect. I don’t care what you say. Bucky knew what was going to happen. And he allowed it because he knew Steve would be happy for a very long time.

-Sams panic because he thought he wouldn’t see Steve again :(
-Sam being given the shield :D
-Damn the CGI is so good in this film. Like Steve looked old but you could still see it was him. Which sounds dumb but so often, movies make it way too unrealistic to prove someone has aged. This did it just right.

-THE CREDITS WITH THE ORIGINALS AND THEIR SIGNATURES OOF!!!
-we all waited til the end of the credits just to be hit in the heart with the sound of Tony building his iron man suit.

Fan Submission
Pairing: Loki x Reader
Warnings: Very Very Smutty. 18+ only. And bad language
A/N: Submitted by @glass-hummingbird
Also like idk when the hell this would take place so I guess it’s in some strange warped timeline??? And also this turned out incredibly different from how I assumed it was going to be. As I wrote it kind of just became its own thing??? I’m not mad at it though.
Word Count: 5313
It wasn’t your typical scene. The place you were at was laughably called Seacrets. There were three different parts to it. A night club, a bar, and a restaurant. Your friends were all dancing away in the nightclub portion but you had stolen away to the bar. It was open, as in there wasn’t a roof and the ground below you was the softest sand you’d ever felt. A weekend getaway for you and your friends at the beach. They all said that you’d been a bit of a zombie lately. Honestly, the last time you didn’t feel so much like one was probably a year ago. At this moment you just weren’t in the mood for loud music that you had to scream over. Instead, you much preferred the chill sounds of a live reggae band. There were about three different bars that you could sit at and order drinks. You just choose whichever one had the most seats and order a Pain in The Ass. It’s a signature drink they have on tap. It’s of slurpee consistency and is a mix of Rum Runner and Pina Colada. You swirl the red and white drink around with your straw as you look around the place. Your hand reaches up and toys with your necklace. It’s a simple round emerald set in gold on a gold chain. You couldn’t remember exactly where you got it from but you always wore it. There are golden twinkle lights streamed around the tops of the bars in what you thought was an attempt to make starlight when the night sky itself was so drowned out by light pollution. The bases of the bars were cement with different coloured bottles that were back lit and glowed blue, green, and red. Overall it was a much better option than the club. You just weren’t feeling the whole sweaty bodies pressed up against each other vibe. The wind blew softly and the little umbrella that was placed in your drink caught the wind and flew out of your drink and across the bar table.
“Oops!” You mumble to yourself, reaching across and picking it up. It was then that you look up, locking eyes with a man another bar over. An image of your sleeve getting caught on a vine as you run flashes in your head. Your breathing hastens as if you were actually just running. His eyes turn from yours, a small grin forming on his lips. You blink back the odd sensation that just invaded your mind and try to shake it off. Glancing back up, he’s busy talking with another man. You look the two over. The man that you had locked eyes with looked a bit out of place. He wore an all black suit. You bite your lip and swirl your drink some more. Who wears a suit at the beach? He’s laughing now, you think at something the other man said, his green eyes crinkle slightly at corners. His long black locks blow slightly in the breeze and dance over his neck, contrasting against the pale skin there. The man he’s with looks classically like a pro athlete. Broad where the other is slim and boisterous where the other is elegant. They seem like night and day. The athletic man being golden and blonde.
“There you are!” It’s one of your friends and you practically jump out of your skin.
“Jesus, don’t scare me like that!” You say, placing a hand over your heart. Your friend is laughing at you and you glare.
“What the hell are you doing out here? I thought we agreed to stick together?” They say and you glance up to see that he’s gone, leaving the blonde alone, nodding his head to the music and playing with his little umbrella.
“I just needed a breather.” You play with your own little umbrella, eyes turned down at it.
“Lame,” They nudge you playfully and you glare up at them again, “Don’t stay out here too long. I’m going back.” They turn from you almost fall back.
“Excuse me.” You quickly glance over your shoulder and it’s another man. He’s incredibly tall and classically handsome. He’s got a strong jaw, a small dimple set in his chin, full lips, thick eyebrows and his short black hair is swept back from his face. There’s a coldness in his blue eyes. He’s broad and almost towering.
“Oh no. It’s perfectly fine.” Your friend smiles up at him. He smiles back, straight white teeth, long pointed incisors.
“I was walking over here to talk to your friend.” He turns to you from your friend and your friend raises their eyebrows at you. “I was wondering if you’d like some company.”
“Oh… n-”
“Yes. Yes she would.” Your friend grabs your hand and his and puts them together. The man laughs and you shake your head. “Enjoy your time together kids! And remember! Be safe!” Your eyes go wide as your friend walks away, leaving you completely red. The man is laughing and you can’t deny he is incredibly handsome but there wasn’t a spark there.
“I’m sorry about them. There’s really no excuse.” You try and he shakes his head, lifting a hand as if to say there’s no need.
“I think they were really nice actually.” He says and strokes his thumb over your palm. You pull your hand back and he clears his throat. “I’m Clark.”
“Y/N.” You say back and glance across to see the blonde still alone, but now looking around. This causes you to look around. You felt silly, looking for a man that you only made eye contact with but your mind goes back to that vine and you reach your hand down to the edge of your sleeve like it actually happened. The man next to you clears his throat again and you look back at him. “Sorry.” You shake your head and try to laugh it off. You see the blonde stand out of the corner of your eye and you glance up, seeing him now staring at you. Your brows furrow in confusion.
“Would you like to take a walk?” Clark asks you and you look back up at him.
“Sure.” You stand and turn away from the bar.
“You forgot.” He holds out your drink for you and you take it from him gratefully. He leads you over to an area next to water where people could sit on rafts and drink. The wind blew across the water, cooling it a little more than it already was. You shiver slightly and go to sip your drink, hoping the alcohol would warm you.
“Don’t drink that.” The voice stops you and an image of your hand running over velvet and silk in colours of gold and green flash through your mind. It sends a shiver up your spine. You glance over your shoulder and of course it’s the man in the suit.
“I’m sorry. Do you know her?” Clark asks, stepping between the two of you. The question suddenly makes your head hurt.
“I-I don’t know.” The man in the suit looks at you confused.
“Brother!” The blonde comes rushing up and puts his hand on the suited man’s shoulder. “Stop. We have to go.”
“I can’t go. He’s put something in her drink.” The suited man says and your eyes go wide.
“You what!?” You practically scream and Clark turns to face you.
“It was just a little something to help-” You don’t even let him finish. You throw the slush right at his face and walk right past everyone. Completely terrified you want nothing more to do with strangers. You stop yourself though and look right at the suited man. You can’t help but think he’s anything but a stranger.
“Thank you.” You say and the blonde reaches out for his brother’s arm. The suited man brushes it off, following after you.
“You guys can’t do this.” The blonde says and you both look at him. Clark starts to charge at you guys and the blonde sighs deeply, turning and punching him. He falls to the ground knocked out. Security comes up just then and the blonde stands back to talk to them.
“Should we just leave him there?” You ask and he shrugs.
“He’ll be ok. Plus, I think we need to talk.” He offers his arm out to you and hesitantly you place your hand in the crook of his elbow. It feels familiar, comfortable. The silence too was oddly comfortable as the two of you walk.
“So, why do I know you?” You ask finally as the two of you sit on a bench on the main strip of road that ran the length of the entire beach town.
“I’m not entirely sure.” He says, his green eyes searching your face and landing on your chest instead. “I know this.” He says, reaching out hesitantly. “May I?” He asks and you nod. His fingertips are cold against your skin. As they brush against your chest you get a flash of cold kisses, in the heat of summer, his cold hands pressing under your shirt. It leaves you breathless and his eyes flick up to yours. “You see something too?”
“Yes.” You breathe and he touches your cheek ever so softly. His fingertips trace over your cheekbone and brush back your hair from your face and behind your ear, fingertips tracing down your jaw to your chin. Your eyes slip closed and you can feel the ghost of his breath over your lips.
“STOP!” The sound of loud pounding footsteps can be heard and the two of you pull back from each other. “You can’t do this.”
“Do what, brother? You know something.” The man in the suit looks rather irritated and you look between the two of them.
“I’m not supposed to say. Just, that you two can’t be together. Also, Y/N, why are you out here? We came out here to get away from you.”
“Why do you know my name? Look. This is all bullshit. Tell us everything, Blondie.” You’re tired of all this bullshit. Your tired of the flashes and your tired from the lack of knowledge. With a deep sigh the blonde parts the two of you on the bench and sits between you.
“About a year ago the two of you were together.” He starts, looking between the two of you. “And by the way, it’s Thor. I’m an Avenger, strongest one at that.”
“That’s the Hulk.” You comment and he rolls his eyes.
“That’s what they’d have you think. You see I’m act-”
“Get to the point!” The suited man says and Thor raises his hands in surrender.
“Alright, alright.” He sits back and takes another deep breath. “The two of you were in love but then bad things started to happen. Loki,” He raised his hand to the suited man. Loki. The name caused your head to hurt more and you pressed your hands to your head. “Loki is wanted by a really bad man and one day someone came for you, Y/N. You were out for a hike with friends and strayed off. This person found you alone. Why do you like doing that by the way? It totally sets you up for danger. It’s like your a magnet for danger when you’re alone and-”
“The point!” Loki cuts him off again and Thor nods.
“Right. So, luckily Heimdall was able to see this happening. We were able to get to you in time. One of Thanos’ followers was after you. No one particularly strong. I guess he didn’t think a human would take much.” The image of you running came back to you. The thorn catching your sleeve as you ran from a figure. It was still a bit blurry. You remembered Loki and Thor appearing, how you screamed out for him. How you didn’t remember much else after that. “Loki decided on his own that the only way to protect you was to erase your memories of him and his of you. Cut all ties with you so that you’d be safe. Any recognition you had of either of us could be explained away as ‘Oh they’re an Avenger’. Of course we never thought you’d be in the same place again.” Thor said and you pressed your hand to your necklace as if on reflex. “Oh that thing! Loki gave that to you, in case this all blew over. So you’d remember everything again.”
“Convenient.” Loki comments and Thor turned to him with a shrug.
“It was your own doing. But I was told to keep you two apart.”
“Asshole.” You stood. The word just spewing out of your mouth.
“What?” Loki looked up at you, “How dare you.”
“No. How dare you? You just decide for me what’s best for me?” You glare down at him and he goes to open his mouth.
“Look, guys. Really. I don’t think-” Thor raised his hands up as if to settle you down.
“Shut it, golden boy.” You snap.
“Y/N. Ouch.” Thor looks up at you as if hurt. A smile broke out over Loki’s lips and you can feel your heart melting slightly at the sight.
“I can see why I liked you.” He comments and you swallow hard.
“Give me my memories back.” You keep your glare and he shakes his head.
“I know Thanos and I know how dangerous-”
“I don’t care. It was never your right to just take that away from me.” There was a pause, Loki dropping his head and finally giving in.
“Come here.” He gestures you over to him and he picks up your necklace. There’s a flood of memories and emotions and finally it ends. You fall forward and into his arms. It’s a lot of information to take in and your head aches from it. You breathe in his scent, earl grey and bright woods.
“How could you take that away?” You ask as you pull away from him. He smooths back the hair from your face, his eyes apologetic.
“I had to. To protect you.” His words are genuine but your anger doesn’t subside.
“It still wasn’t your choice! I’ve been walking around like a zombie for the last year, like I had a part of me missing!” You want to do nothing more than slap him. But you can’t. Not when he’s looking at you with tear strained eyes, mouth parted as if he were trying to think of something to say. You’ve managed to render the only man that’s always had a comeback speechless. “You’re the worst.” You whisper and Thor stands as a group of people start to walk in your direction.
“Hey! look it’s Thor!”
“Is that Loki?”
“Who is that with them?”
“You two should probably work this out somewhere else.” Thor said and Loki stands, lifting you with him with ease. You squirm slightly, a small fire of anger still lit in your chest. He sets you down. “I’ll keep them distracted.” He says, turning from the two of you with a wide smile.
“Hello, my Midgard dudes!” He says, arms out wide as if ready for photo ops.
“Did he really just say that?” You ask and look up at Loki. He rolls his eyes and offers his arm out to you as he had before. You take it without hesitation this time.
“We’re staying in this hotel here.” He gestures to the hotel that was right behind the two of you.
“Convenient.” You comment and he shrugs.
“It was Thor’s doing. He thought it’d be easy to,” You look up at him and tilt your head, “get drunk and stumble here.”
“Alone?” You ask and he sighs.
“You weren’t the only zombie, Y/N.” The two of you walk through the doors and head to the elevator. “Thor brought me here to try and get me to unwind. When I saw you tonight I was instantly attracted to you.” He ushers you into the elevator.
“I know. So was I.” You say, leaning back against the golden mirrored walls of the elevator as he hits the floor of his room.
“It felt like a deep longing for me.” He says turning to you and you bite your lip.
“I actually saw a flash of my last memory with you. But it was poignant in a way.” He tilts his head at your words. “I just mean. I could see my sleeve caught on a vine and I guess it makes sense. My mind would think back to you from time to time. I’d see you on the news and like a thorn catching, you’d stick there much longer than I thought was normal. When I saw you tonight, both of you in person, it was like I knew who you were but also, like there was a block on my mind. You two are famous. I’ve seen you millions of times but it was like there was a wall keeping me from seeing who you two were. It wasn’t until you spoke each other’s names that I realized who you were. You’ve got some heavy magic.”
“I’m sorry.” Was all he got out before the elevator dinged, doors opening. You walked out first and he followed behind. “It’s this one over here.” He says, and you follow. He slides his keycard in and a moment later you’re in the room. It wasn’t anything exceptional, standard hotel room. Brown carpet, beige bedding, wooden headboards, and those ugly pink printed curtains that somehow every beach hotel seems to have. The room was nice and cool, the AC was on full blast. You slip your sandals off and he follows suit with his dress shoes.
“You owe me an apology. Not only that but you have to make up for a year’s worth of time without having you.” You say as you take a seat on one of the double beds.
“What are you saying?” He asks as he tosses the keycard down onto the dresser.
“I’m saying that,” You look away from him and try to figure out just what it is that you really mean, “What you did was wrong. You should never have decided something for me without talking to me. Or no.” You look at him. “Never make a decision for me. I’m my own person and if I wanted to stay with you or leave you that’s my own choice. Also, if you wanted to break up with me, then don’t be a fucking coward about it. Tell me to my face.”
“No.” He closes his eyes and his head falls. “It wasn’t like that. I admit, I was scared for you. I thought this would have been the easiest thing. The least painful thing.”
“I don’t want easy. And this isn’t a movie, Loki. Don’t be so dramatic.” You reach out a hand for him and he takes it, sitting by your side. “I should still hate you for what you did. Honestly, it was a shitty thing. I’m my own person. Though, I do understand why you did it. I do, to a degree appreciate that. But Loki Odinson, if you ever,” You pause, emphasizing the word, “do something like that again, you’ll really know what it’s like to live without me in your life.”
“We can’t,” He stops himself reaching a hand up and cupping your cheek, “be together.” You bite your lip and nod.
“Is that what you want?”
“No. But it’s what must be done to protect you. I’m sorry I took the coward’s way out before.” He leans down and presses his forehead to yours. You look his face over, his eyes closed. You can feel it, this pull he has on you. You smile sadly. “I know I should not want. I know I should not feel. You claim you have no magic and yet I’m under your spell.”
“I could say the same for you but I know for you it’s true.” You say as you open your eyes, he pulls back from you just a little and looks down at you. “One more night.” You whisper and his face looks strained.
“It’ll make things harder.” He warns and you nod.
“No one ever said that life was a smooth road.” He leans down then and kisses you. His lips are almost as cold as the room and move yourself on top of him, straddling his hips. His cool hands slip under the hem of your shirt, his long fingers find their way to your bra and pop it off with ease. You part from him, lifting your arms over your head. His fingers trail over your body and slip your shirt and bra off. You gasp as the cold floods to your body, instantly your nipples harden and his mouth is kissing over your chest. His hands splayed across your back as your fingers dig into his hair, pulling out the bobby pins on either side of his head. His hair falls forward and tickles over your chest. You grind down against him, feeling the strain of him against his suit pants. He groans and a small whimper leaves your mouth as his mouth licks and sucks ever so gently your nipples. You inhale sharply, fingers hooking into the tie around his neck and tug at it, loosening it enough that it comes undone. You pull it from around his neck and toss it on the bed. He moves away from you then sliding off his jacket and tossing it to the ground before moving himself to the center of the bed. You crawl after him, straddling his lap once more. He’s fast at work on his shirt, undoing the buttons. You pull out the tucked in part and soon that’s discarded too.
“You just had to wear something hard to get off.” You comment and he grins.
“All good things take time.” He pulls you down for another kiss and in one swift motion you feel yourself being flipped. You’re now under him and his smirk grows wider. He kisses down your body, wet and sloppy. You can smell your perfume strong in the air, the warmth of your body releasing the scent more. He undoes your pants and wastes no time with getting rid of those along with your undergarments. It’s been a long year of emptiness. He sits up and looks you over. “I let myself forget this?” He takes you in and suddenly you feel self conscious. Your arms cover your breasts and you press your thighs together. “No, love, don’t.” He coos. His hands cup the backs of your calves and he kisses over your knees. “You’re gorgeous.” You open for him. His mouth kisses down your thigh, palms moving over your legs, pulling you apart. You close your eyes, head falling back. A gentle bite followed by a kiss, fingertips now, one hand pressing your hips down as the other cups under your thigh. A kiss on the track of your thigh and pelvis. You squirm slightly at the teasing. You can feel his grin forming. His tongue trails it now and you whimper.
“Loki,” You moan his name out and he squeezes your thigh. The hand at your hip slips down and teases your entrance.
“Say my name.” He say, his lips are over just where you want them the most. His voice sends chills over you.
“Loki, please.” You tilt your head up and look down at him. His green eyes practically glint with desire. You swallow hard, body trembling from want. His eyes close and his mouth goes to work, warm and soft. You moan out as he pulls a leg over his shoulder, his arm under your thigh, his hand curls to rest on your hip. His other hand, the teasing one eases a finger in. It’s easy as you’re already wet. He adds another finger and curls his fingers forward. Your hips buck up and he presses you down with the hand over your hip. Your hands find their way to his hair, gently tugging at it as you whimper and moan. His soft hair creates a blanket around your thighs and stomach, cloaking you from seeing his face. The soft tickles it gives you makes you buck up again. His movements quicken and you can feel yourself getting close. You tug harder.
“Loki!” It’s like the tide pulling away from the beach, you find yourself wading into the deep water, tide pulling you and finally like a cresting wave, your orgasm washes over you. You moan out his name again, a hand grasping the bed sheets as you try to turn your head away to bury it in a pillow. His mouth lifts off of you but his thumb replaces his tongue.
“Say my name, love.” His voice truly is like velvet. He reaches out and pushes the hair back from your face. You buck and squirm, the sensation of his hand still in and on you almost too much. Your hands reach out and grab his wrist.
“Loki.” You tried to get it to come out more as a warning but his thumb presses a soft circle and instead you moan it. He grins down at you, his hair falling over his face in loose soft waves. You glare up at him. “You’re the worst.” You growl and he rubs another circle and you gasp out a moan.
“Doesn’t sound that way, love.” He says, his fingers finally leaving you but his palm presses against the sensitive bundle of nerves and continues to rub. You reach out and pull him down by his shoulders, his hair falling over your face. You’re desperate for a kiss. “Give me a second.” He says, pulling away from you completely and leaving you on the bed. You sit up and glance at yourself in the mirror above the dresser, trying to fix your disheveled hair. You can hear him brushing his teeth as you reach over the side of the bed for your purse, pulling out one of the many condoms your friends had loaded into it. You rolled your eyes then but are grateful for them now. Loki finally comes back into the room, smirking at what you have in your hand.
“Was it really that bad down there?” You ask and he shakes his head.
“No, I see it more as a courtesy for you.” He says, laying on the bed next to you. While in the bathroom he had taken a moment to remove the rest of his clothing.
“I honestly don’t care.” You say, reaching out and trailing your hand down his chest. He may not have been broad and muscular like Thor but he was toned. His pecs and abs were pronounced, leading down to his Adonis belt. You bit your lip as your fingertips trailed lower. He took in a sharp breath. You could see his eyes fluttering shut. Every inch of him was perfect. You wrapped your hand around him and gently stroked, your thumb circling over the slit at the tip, spreading his arousal over him.
“Y/N, darling,” You stop and look up at him, “As lovely as your hand is,” You stroke over the tip with your thumb again, pressing a bit harder. He bites his lip, eyes flying shut again. He swallows, tongue licking his lips, “I want you.” He breathes out, hungry eyes opening, baring down at you. He takes you by the hips and pulls you on top of him. You reach out for the condom and he takes it from you. He rips it open and slides it on. You move yourself over him and slowly ease down, adjusting to his girth and length inch by inch. His hands rest on your hips, rocking you up and down on him. You have control but let him believe he’s guiding you. Finally, you take his full length and he breathes out. “It’s like getting in a nice warm bath.” He whispers up to you.
“I’m much better than a bath.” You rock down on him and his groans.
“There’s no doubt about that, Love.” His thumbs rub circles over your hips and you set your pace. His hips rock up in rhythm with yours. You grasp at his shoulders, nails digging into his skin. You don’t so much bounce as you grind up and down on his cock, enabling yourself to rub your clit over his pelvis. Your speed hastens and it isn’t long before that tide is pulling at you again.
“Oh, God.” Your head falls back over your shoulders and he sits up, his hands work your hips keeping the pace as you let the wave crash over you again. “Loki!”
“Yes, my love. You’re so beautiful when you come.” He says, letting you ride out your orgasm. He flips you like he did before. By instinct you wrap your legs around his hips and your arms around his shoulders. He thrust into you with hard long strokes. Your nails dig down from his shoulders and over his chest, leaving bright red marks in their wake. He groans and leans down, biting at your neck. Your breath hitches in your throat and he softly licks and sucks the spot. You rock your hips up harder and he holds your hips back, forehead falling on your shoulder.
“Did you?” you ask and his head shakes.
“No but if you keep that up I won’t last much longer.” You reach out and take his head into your hands, moving his head so that you can look up into his eyes.
“Don’t torture yourself. Just come.” You whisper, pressing your hips up into his, his eyes flutter closed and you kiss his forehead. It wasn’t long then before he came. You wrap your arms around him and he stays there inside you for just a moment, enjoying the peace of one another. Finally, he rolls off of you and discards the condom. You crawl to rest over his chest, his body temperature a good bit lower than yours. At the moment it felt incredibly good against your flushed skin. His fingertips draw lazy circles over your back and you bury your head in his shoulder.
“I love you, Y/N.” He whispers the words into your hair, pressing a kiss above your ear and you shiver from the smooth rasp of his voice, tingles breaking out over your skin.
“I love you too.” You whisper back, closing your eyes and drifting off to sleep, feeling him pull the covers up over the two of you.
It was the morning sun that woke you, cutting through the slatted blinds and hitting your face. You groan, pulling a pillow over your face. The room was quiet, save for the running AC. You perk up just then.
“He didn’t.” You sit up in bed and look around, sure enough, he did. You were alone. You rolled out of bed and grabbed your phone out of your purse. Of course there were a million texts from your friends asking where you were. You were quick to let them all know you were fine and you’d explain later. Going through your texts you see one from an unknown number. All it was was a link to a youtube video. You bit your lip and clicked the link. A Taste of Honey by The Beatles plays out from your phone. You smile, knowing it was Loki who sent it. You wrap yourself in a blanket and walk to the window, cracking the blinds and looking out at the sunny sky. You begin to toy with your necklace.
“I will return. Yes I will return. I’ll come back for the honey, and you.”

Part Seven
Bucky tried his best to supress his groan as Steve, Thor and Loki all but turfed him out of his own apartment, Sam was in work today so he couldn’t join them. Though Bucky’s distaste must have been as clear as day on his face because Steve rolled his eyes, dragging a hand through his sleek, perfect hair.
“Come on Buck! Don’t be such a baby, we’re all friends with Darcie so it’s only fair to her that we try and get to know the guy she’s dating,” he raised an eyebrow and slammed the door shut behind them so it was pretty clear to Bucky that there was no going back now.
Bucky huffed like a child and stuck his hands in the pockets of his leather jacket and he pushed his bottom lip out into a pout, “I’m really not too fond of him,” Bucky started, Darcie had been dating the fireman guy for a couple of months now, Bucky hadn’t expected them to last so long, “he gives off a bad vibe and besides, we can get to know him any old time. Why does it have to be when we’re going day drinking?”
Bucky’s voice was a whine as Steve merely rolled his eyes again – he’d been doing that a lot lately because lately Bucky had been insufferable. Thor let out a booming belly laugh and clapped a strong hand on Bucky’s shoulder as they strolled out into the brisk afternoon air. Bucky winced slightly; sometimes Thor didn’t know his own strength.
“You’re just jealous that he’s got better hair than you and he’s got that whole Irish accent thing going on, all the ladies love it,” he chuckled.
Bucky glared at Thor and kicked the back of his leg so that he stumbled, “long hair is so last year,” he paused awkwardly as Loki raised an eyebrow at him, “uh, it looks great on you though man. Also that accent makes him sound like a loser, totally not sexy. I don’t know what she sees in him.”
Steve quirked an eyebrow but he said nothing, “what?” Bucky demanded as they walked into the first pub and sat at a table that was right next to a crackling fire.
Steve scoffed and he threw his hands up in surrender, “I didn’t say anything,” he remarked as Thor and Loki watched them bicker, amusement plain in their eyes.
“You didn’t have to, your eyebrows said it all, at least you weren’t giving me the ‘eyebrows of disappointment’ so I guess I should be grateful for that,” Bucky muttered, causing Steve to shake his head in amusement.
About ten minutes after the boys got to the pub Liam turned up with a laughing grin on his face, he greeted everyone like he’d known them for years and that really annoyed Bucky. Bucky really didn’t like Liam, though he couldn’t say why or at least that’s what he had told himself. He nodded at Liam tightly, his jaw clenched as the Irishman sat at the table. Bucky was quiet for the next hour or so, he was leaning back in his chair, watching Liam with narrowed eyes. Everyone jumped, slightly startled when Bucky finally spoke up.
“So, how are you and Darcie, you guys have been seeing each other for a couple of months haven’t you?” he asked, ignoring the way that Steve glared at him. Bucky continued as casually as he could, picking at the chipped wood of the table, “she your girlfriend?”
Liam’s hazel eyes studied Bucky for just a minute as he sipped his pint of beer, “no, we’re just having a bit of fun. What about you?” he elaborated when Bucky quirked an eyebrow at him in confusion, “handsome guy like you, you must have a girlfriend.”
The mood around the table suddenly went tense as Steve, Thor and Loki exchanged worried glances, it sounded like Liam was challenging him in some way. Bucky looked away, shrugging and made a non-committal noise. Steve internally groaned as Liam kept on talking, obviously not getting Bucky’s hint to shut his mouth.
“You never had a thing with Darcie did you Buck? I was getting a weird vibe between the both of you the first time I met all of you.”
Bucky’s blue gaze snapped back to look at Liam, “there’s never been anything between us,” Bucky denied, feeling bad for lying, “why do you want to know?”
Liam smirked at him, “that’s good to know; I wanted to know because I don’t enjoy sloppy seconds.”
The table went deathly quiet, Bucky couldn’t believe what he’d just said, Liam obviously wasn’t as sweet as everyone thought he was. Bucky felt the rage bubbling up inside him like wildfire. Before Bucky could open his mouth or throw a punch to defend Darcie’s honour, Loki spoke over him, his normally calm voice shaking with anger.
“I beg your pardon?” he asked, folding his long fingers together and placing them on top of the table, that was the British way of saying, ‘what the fuck did you just say?’
Before things could get any more awkward and heated, Thor diffused the situation successfully, “come on guys, let’s get to the next pub, yeah?”
Bucky nodded in agreement, “that’s a great idea Thor,” he swallowed the last of his drink, slammed the pint glass down on the table before storming out. Thankfully, Bucky didn’t hear Liam mutter about how touchy he was, there genuinely would have been a blood bath. Bucky made a mental note to tell Darcie that the guy she was dating was an ass.
Bucky was still seething when they walked a couple of blocks to the next pub, he’d moved onto a double whiskey on the rocks. The tension soon subsided a tiny bit and Bucky could finally look at Liam without lunging over the table and murdering him.
“Bucky?” he looked up at the mention of his name to see a woman with short blonde hair, dressed all in black, Bucky beamed when he realised who it was and he stood up, pulling the woman into a hug.
“Hey Gen, it’s great to see you.”
“Yeah, you too!” she smiled and looked over at Steve, “hey good looking,” she winked.
“Hi Gen,” Steve chuckled as he gave her a little wave.
“So, I actually wanted to speak to you, I was going to call considering I’ve just moved to the city,” she smiled, turning her attention back to Bucky, “I’m getting married in a couple of months and you guys are more than welcome to come, bring your girlfriends too,” she beamed.
Steve nodded, “thank you.”
Bucky paused for a moment; he had expected it to feel awkward being invited to the wedding considering that Gen was his ex-girlfriend but it wasn’t awkward at all. The most awkward thing was the fact that he didn’t have a girlfriend to bring, “yeah, yep. I’ll bring my girl,” he didn’t want to admit to her that he was single.
“Awesome, I’d best get back to work, see you guys later,” she patted Bucky’s shoulder before she walked back behind the bar.
“Who was that?” Loki chuckled before Bucky could reply Steve did it for him.
“That was his ex, why did you guys break up by the way? You never told me.”
Bucky blushed and fiddled with his fingers, dark strands of hair falling over his eyes, “she um left me for a woman. We’re still on excellent terms though as you guys could probably tell.”
Steve blushed crimson and looked as though he shouldn’t have asked while the others exchanged glances and smirks full of glee, “and are you bringing your imaginary girlfriend Barnes?” Thor laughed.
Bucky snickered despite himself, rolling his eyes as he replied, “I’ll get a girl for that wedding Thor, don’t you worry. I’m going for a cigarette,” he paused, looking over at Steve who was raising his eyebrows at him, “oh don’t give me the ‘eyebrows of disappointment’ Rogers, I’ve had a very stressful day,” he narrowed his eyes at Liam before taking off outside.
------------------------------------------------------
Steve shook his head with a chuckle before he decided to text Peggy to see what kind of day the girls were having, they had also gone day drinking and they were going to meet up with the boys later on. A couple of moments later she text him back with a picture of the drinks on the table, most of it was flavoured vodka. Steve smirked in amusement as he texted Peggy back.
To: Peggy Carter, 2:43pm
‘I’m surprised that Darcie is drinking that cherry vodka after that wild college party, glad you girls are having a good time xxx’
A few minutes later Peggy messaged him back,
From: Peggy Carter, 2:50pm
‘What party? She said that she has no idea what you’re going on about babe xxx’
Steve frowned down at his phone; did Darcie really not remember a night that seemed to be pretty important to her? She had revealed a pretty big secret to Steve that night. Before Steve could do much of anything he was getting a call off Darcie, “I gotta take this,” he murmured at the guys before he walked to a quieter part of the pub, “hey Darc.”
“Steve, hey,” her speech was slightly slurred “what are you talking about? I didn’t see you while I was in college,” Steve sighed, nerves bubbling up in his gut and he chewed his lip.
“You clearly don’t remember but there’s something you should know,” he spoke nervously as he started to tell the story.
Steve had been sitting on Darcie’s living room couch; they’d gone to a party while Steve was visiting home from the army. Bucky didn’t want to come due to obvious reasons.  Darcie had drunk copious amounts of cherry vodka and now she was pretty sick. Sam smiled at Steve as he padded into the living room, “how is she?” Steve asked, pretty concerned about his friend.
Sam pulled a face, “not too good, she’s pretty upset and she wants to talk to you.”
Steve nodded as he stood up, “I’ll go see to her,” he said and walked up the stairs, worried about what he’d find in the bathroom. She was sitting with her back propped up against the bath, her blonde hair was a mess and her makeup was streaked down her face.
“Steve!” she whimpered, reaching out for him, she looked utterly distraught.
“Hey doll, what’s the matter?” he asked, slightly alarmed and he sat next to her, wrapping an arm around her, holding her close to his chest.
“I-I’m sorry,” she stuttered.
“For what?” he asked, stroking her tangled hair soothingly.
“For hurting Bucky,” her tears stained his shirt, Steve had no idea what to say or how to reassure her, “I hate myself, I love him. I love him so much, I always have and I definitely always will, my heart stops when I think about him and my heart breaks when I remember what I did to him. I love Bucky Barnes but we’re doomed, even if I did see him again he’d never forgive me and I can’t blame him. Please don’t’ tell him any of this, he can’t know.”
Steve finished his story, continuing to speak when there was silence on the other end of the phone, “you didn’t speak about it again so Sam and I assumed that you didn’t want to talk about it. I left before you woke up in the morning; I never imagined it was because you didn’t remember anything.”
------------------------------------------------------
Darcie whimpered a little as she shut her front door and held her head in her hands, she’d left early because the rest of the girls were meeting the boys and she couldn’t face Bucky after what Steve had just told her. She had absolutely no memory of that night; she didn’t even know that she had felt that strongly about him. Her true feelings for Bucky must have been hidden deep in the back of her mind.
What should have been a great day ended as one of the worst days that she could remember. Not only had Steve dropped a bombshell on her, her mom had called her with some bad news about her dad.

Final Thoughts
So this is it.
Endgame is 1000% complete. The premiere was last night, and in less than 48 hours, it will be released to the public. Well, at least for me, in about...
Tumblr media
(Yes, I have a countdown on my phone that’s been set up since last year that goes until Thursday, April 25, 2019, at 6:00pm)
I wanted to make a post about my predictions. Something I could come back to, so I could see if I was right or wrong. I remember doing that last year with some of my favourite fan artists and laughing at their prospective situations that turned out to be true.
But you see, the truth is... I have absolutely no idea what to expect. And that's not just a cheap copout of me saying "It's a Marvel movie, therefore anything can happen". We know nothing. Literally nothing. The trailers are compilations of repetitive clips revealing nothing past the first 20 minutes of a 3-hour 2-minute movie. We don't even know the films true plot.
Is there a time jump? Do they time travel? Why are they splitting up into teams, seeing how well that proved to work last time? How is Scott saved? Tony and Nebula? And what is their plan?
I don't know. I really don't. All any of us can do is take shots in the dark. RDJ said it himself that it is near impossible to predict what's going to happen.
So that got me thinking about something I've considered pretty much since the debut of the first trailer...this movie is unpredictable...but there are some assumptions we've been making that we are assuming as a fact are going to happen.
But then there are also moments that I believe deserve to happen. Story arcs that need to be completed. Endings certain characters deserve.
So, drawn-out intros aside, here are my final thoughts on this movie.
Tony
Tony is an enigma. I've made a post in the past discussing why he might actually not die based on the chess motif and the necessity to save him as the "King", despite the fact that death is what we'd all expect. I'll be honest, when the first trailer came out, I thought to myself, "Wow. They're really trying to prep us for the heartbreak by shoving this foreshadowing down our throats.”
Obviously, this is based on the first half of the first trailer, with him adrift in space. I thought that maybe Captain Marvel would be the one to save him, or maybe Pepper in her rescue armour that was seen a couple months ago from a set photo. But how would they know where he was?
But after the second trailer debuted, I think I'm going to make the assumption that it is, in fact, Nebula, with her spare bodily robotic parts, who saves the two of them and brings them back to earth. I'm also going to assume that the scene from the trailers of Steve and the rest looking up at the night sky outside the compound (if that scene is even real) is them seeing Tony and Nebula arriving back to earth. Though I have considered the possibility of the space ship recording scene actually taking place at the end of the move...which would suck. But I'm also going to assume, based on the third trailer and clips that followed of Steve and Tony together, that they actually do reunite, in the present time.
Of course, this does not excuse him from the possibility of dying at all. And he very well could. But then, another thought crossed my mind. In Infinity War, the first time we see Tony on screen is with Pepper, discussing their wedding and possible children. See...why would they foreshadow that if they were to never make reference of it again? Sure, there's a possibility of a time jump with perhaps a wedding and maybe kid squeezed in there. After all, the whole vibe we're given from the second trailer is the question of where the world is supposed to go from the tragedy endured, and how some move on (then Steve of course says "but not us" but anyways). But that's only with the off chance that there is a time jump, and it seems kind of off in the first place. So assuming the foreshadowing wasn't for no reason, I'd like to think that there's a chance he lives long enough to retire and have a kid.
Tony and Pepper mentioning a kid isn't the only foreshadowing given for his survival, though. There was one line from Avengers that always stuck with me, and sort of got overshadowed by Tony's narcissistic but hilarious description of himself ("Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist."). It comes when Steve is criticizing Tony's character and motivation. He says:
"You're not the guy to make the sacrifice play. To lay down on a wire and let the other guy crawl over you."
To which Tony immediately responds:
"I think I would just cut the wire."
Time and time again, Tony has proven Steve wrong, the first obviously being when he flew through the wormhole in the same movie. But what if this is his play in this one too? To be presented with a one-or-the-other choice for who can be saved, but manages to do both? Alternatively, this could also play out to the opposite of our favour; maybe Tony does finally just crawl over the wire for someone. For example, I've pictured a scenario where they do indeed go back in time to retrieve the stones before Thanos does. It's a plausible situation, considering we know nothing of their plan. But when it comes time to retrieve the soul stone, it's Tony who decides to make the sacrifice. Maybe he argues over it with Steve, who would want to finish what he started with Red Skull and complete the fate he was given 70 years ago, but ultimately Tony forces him to comply to what he wants, which is to finally make the ultimate sacrifice.
(And for the record, if either of those situations plays out, I'm suing Marvel for emotional distress)
But there's one other option, and it's based on a line spoken by Tony in the trailer that really stuck out to me. It was when he was leaving his message to Pepper in the second trailer, and it's where he says:
"I know I said no more surprises, but I was really hoping to pull off one last one."
At first thought, I thought it may be like a "Surprise, honey! I'm not dead, and I've returned to earth to help defeat that giant grape!" sort of thing. And maybe it is. But I've also considered the possibility of Tony tricking someone or something. Perhaps tricking those into thinking he was dead. He did do it in Iron Man 3. But then again...who knows.
Sidenote: That's the end of my first thought and everything on Tony, and I have, like, *at least* twelve more to go. I was not expecting this to be this huge. Whoops.
Steve
It is so hard to get a read on what the hell is happening with this damn character. On one hand, Chris Evans has been talking for the longest time as if we all already know that his characters dead, with the way he speaks about his wrap-up with Marvel in general. But then there are people like the Russo's who say they have things in store that we don't know about yet. Like what?? Who do we believe? Are they just trying to cover up his obviousness? Or are we, again, making predictions that we shouldn't because this movie is actually so unpredictable??
Obviously, I don't know what's going to happen. What I will say is, I know what the fanbase expects, and that's for him to die. But again, just like in Tony's case, if that's one of the top expected outcomes, isn't it less likely going to happen?
Personally, I'm in favour of one specific theory many fans have contemplated and considered. The theory is that Steve, whether it be a result of the plot or by choice, goes back in time to the '40s, and that's where he lives out the rest of his life. He has his dance with Peggy, something foreshadowed so many times, including in the trailers, and they end up living together happily, and he endures the life he always wanted before going in the ice - that is how he phrased it at the end of Age of Ultron. So yes, he would most likely be "dead" in the present day from old age, as would Peggy (since she had already died in Civil War), but he would live out the life he always wanted.
OR - and I just thought of this now, literally as I'm writing - get this. He goes back to live in the '40s. But in present day, he's still alive, just very old. The Avengers (or whoever's left) go to see him by the end of the movie, maybe even during the after credits. And...it's Stan Lee. He is Steve Rogers. His final cameo.
(This seems highly unlikely, but the thought amused me. I also can't remember if the super soldier serum allows you to age properly in normal circumstances, but I don't wanna look it up at the risk of running into spoilers. Oh well, unresearched theory is unresearched.)
Thor
Don't get me wrong, I am still very much in the mindset of:
Tumblr media
But if I'm being completely honest, yes, Thor, just like every other O6, the God of Thunder known by humans for his immortality, has a chance of not making it. With talks of a Thor 4 with dir. Taika Waititi, it seems unlikely, but the chance is still there. And it did get me thinking...
Loki telling him before his death, "The sun will shine on us again"...did he mean in Valhalla? I have had the thought of Thor possibly biting it, but then a scene where we see him there, reuniting with Loki, Heimdall, Frigga...even Odin. His loved ones. The ones he thought he could not go on without, finally being together again, him being happy in the afterlife.
It's a sucky thought, but a possible one.
Loki
Soooo...here we are. I'm not going over my whole freaking theory again, but I stand by what I wrote. Including the portion with the disclaimer where I established that I could be totally wrong.
But a possibility I also totally support is one where he is brought back with time travel. Why would he have a poster if he doesn't make a reappearance? What that reappearance is, I have no idea. Maybe, just like the comics, he does purposely bring the Avengers together in New York. Or maybe it's something heartfelt at the end, where time has rolled back, and it's immediately following Ragnarok. Thor is aware of the reverse, and everything that's happened, and Loki saunters into the dressing room again and makes the comment on Thor's eyepatch, but Thor is just so happy to see him, that he just hugs him, as it was foreshadowed in Ragnarok, and all is well, and they live happily ever after in Norway on Earth ruling Asgard together...
Idk. Just a thought.
A Cinematic Parallel
So this was just something I noticed when comparing the Infinity War and Endgame trailers.
So remember in the Infinity War trailer, where we see Tony just sitting with his hands folded over and we were like "huh wonder why they're covered in dirt", and then it turned out it was cause Peter just died, and it was his dust, and we all had a good laugh/cry when looking back on it.
Well...you know that moment in the Endgame trailer when Steve is covered in what looks to be sweat and dirt and he tightens his shield around his arm or something, and looks to be in extreme anguish over...something?
Well... I think that's our one glimpse at the end, just as Tony's was in the Infinity War trailer. I think someone just died in that moment.
That's literally it for that.
Death
We don't know who's going to die. We don't. And we don't know how. But that fact that the Russo's, Paul Rudd, and Chris Evans have been openly joking about character deaths is a definite indicator that whoever and however they go is not going to be mainstream. Like, I don't think it's going to be a Loki-type death, or the Tony-almost-death, where the character is just too overpowered by Thanos, or whoever else, and they die as a result. It's going to be complex. Or a decision the character makes that is self-sacrificing. Or something similar to the Steve time travel theory. But whatever it is, it is likely incredibly hard to guess.
Time Travel
The theories of time travel that have been circulating since the debut of Ant-Man and the Wasp are still just that - theories. I'll be honest, I'm still not 100% sure how the quantum realm can possibly assist them, other than getting them stuck in a time vortex. And even still, the operators of said quantum realm machine are dusted. That's all we have to go off of; that, obvious hair and suit changes throughout the trailers and set photos, and, of course, the fact that there are limited options as to how they can actually succeed at this point.
The Suits
Honestly, I just included this section to make fun of their new suits some more. They are so freaking ugly, it's hilarious. I remember when the photos of them were first leaked, everyone laughed and said it was too ugly to be real, yet HERE WE ARE.
So you can imagine how hard I laughed when I saw the second trailer for the first time, and how conflicted I was over how cool their "walk" was, but how gross the suits were.
Some actual memes I saved before the official release of the suits:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bonus: Something I saved literally last November. And we're about to find out in less than two days...God, I'm not ready.
Tumblr media
Prospective Scenes
There were a couple of scenes other than those I've already listed that would be incredibly satisfying to see.
Firstly, Tony and Pepper's wedding.
I always pictured it as the after credits scene. A final symbol of rest, retirement, and relaxation for Tony. And everyone's there, too. The rest of the O6, but also Peter and May, Happy, Rhodey, Sam, Wanda, the Guardians, T'Challa, Shuri, and their friends, Bucky, Dr. Strange (both reluctantly), Wong (of course), and the rest of their friends and (remaining) family. Everyone's watching as the shot is on them. And standing behind them, telling Tony he may kiss the bride, is the minister - Stan Lee. His final cameo.
(Or at least the one I originally had in mind).
The perfect ending for the perfect character arc. And oh, how unlikely it is to happen.
I'm also curious to know, now that it's confirmed, how the story will reintroduce Valkyrie, who happens to be one of my favourite characters, and also who may have escaped with her (hopefully with one of my other favourite characters...).
But there is a scene which we know for a fact is going to happen, and may have gotten a glimpse of during the final trailer, with the shot of Rocket and Nebula sitting somberly and holding hands. It's Rocket finding out that the other Guardian's didn't survive. Since separating from the other Guardians in Infinity War, Rocket did not know of their outcome, and there was no one to relay the message. That...is going to be heartbreaking to watch. Especially after seeing Rocket's character development in GOTG 2.
Prospective Dialogue
Just like certain scenes, there are lines that would be amazing to hear from specific characters.
The first, and probably most popular and obvious, is, of course:
"Avengers Assemble"
If Cap doesn't finally deliver this line with so much passion in this goddamned movie...
But then there was also a line of my personal preference that I really wanted to be heard in the movie, especially if it was said by either Tony, or Steve, or both of them to Thanos. And it's...:
"Because if we can't protect the Earth, you can be damn well sure we'll avenge it."
Which is why I was SO HYPED BUT ANNOYED when I heard it in the trailer because so much of that content isn't going to make it into the movie.
I guess we'll see.
The Stones
So a common...what would you call it...theme, I guess? I've noticed is the correlation between the Avengers and the infinity stones. There are, of course, the six original Avengers left, and six stones. Each Avenger happens to almost perfectly fit into the representation of each stone.
Thor is the Space Stone - Probably most obvious. The Tesseract came from his family, and he has done space travel all his life.
Steve is the Time Stone - As he is "the man out of time".
Banner is the Mind Stone - A scientific genius, yet can't control his own mind.
Barton is the Reality Stone - He conceals his reality - his family - from the rest of his life and his world.
Natasha is the Power Stone - Often viewed as the weak link, even by allies (ie. Scott in Civil War), yet probably one of the strongest and most powerful team members, both physically, and mentally.
And finally - Tony is the Soul Stone - The godfather and soul of the team.
I don't know what this means for Endgame, if it means anything at all. It was just something I noticed.
Fate
There is one last theme I've come to notice throughout the original six, and it's the fact that each of them had their fate severely altered, almost unnaturally, to end up where they are in Endgame.
Tony, of course, almost died in a cave after being kidnapped by terrorists. He only built the Mark 1 suit to escape, and nearly died in the process of that. If he did not go to Afghanistan for the weapons presentation, not only would he not be Iron Man, but he would not be with Pepper, and he would still be manufacturing weapons - or worse, Obidiah would've had him killed another way.
Steve, of course, was selected to be the test subject of the super soldier serum, but that's not what altered his fate. He was destined for that for his grit and determination alone. His fate was altered when he survived something he shouldn't have - When he came out of the ice alive. None - and I mean none - of the events within the Avengers, SHIELD, or anything could have happened if he had died as he was supposed to.
With Bruce, you'd think I would refer to his gamma experiment in general, but that's not it either. That was also destined, similar to Steve's experiment. His is mentioned more briefly in Avengers, and it's the fact that he tried to kill himself. His attempt backfired, as he says he immediately transformed into the Hulk and thus, survived. But his intent was there, and if not for the quick reflexes and will to live of the Hulk (something that was NOT demonstrated in Infinity War, mind you), he would be gone.
Clint's and Natasha's basically go hand-in-hand. In Avengers, we find out that Clint was sent to kill Natasha, as she was part of the KGB. Natasha, in return, would have to try and kill Clint, not that it would have been different from any other enemy of theirs at the time. But because Clint made the call to try and reason with her and get her to turn, they both came out alive rather than the false dichotomy of a situation that would have left at least one of them dead.
And finally, there's Thor. His is a bit trickier to pinpoint because although he's been in death-defying situations, it's unclear if he's ever come close to death like a mortal would. But it's Thor who actually describes this fate that got me thinking about this theme in the first place, as he tells Rocket in Infinity War:
"You know, I'm 1500 years old. I've killed twice as many enemies as that, and every one of them would have rather killed me, but none succeeded. I'm only alive because fate wants me alive."
Fate wants him alive. And apparently it wants the other five alive as well. Otherwise, three of them would be dust, based on probability of the snap. But all six of them remain.
Again, I have no idea what this means for Endgame. I'm just pointing out what I believe to be significant.
Wow, so those are a lot more thoughts than I thought I'd have...this took about 3 hours to write, lol. So I think I'm going to leave it at that, and find out what happens on Thursday. I am in no way ready for it to all be over. And I've never been so terrified to watch a movie. And I've never had to consider that this might be the final 48 hours of a characters life.
This is going to be big. And I can't wait. But goddamn I am so scared.

Infinity War Thoughts
Sooo, Infinity War.  Even though I had guessed a lot of the things that would happen (thanks to Linkara’s reviews of Infinity Gauntlet and Infinity War), I still wasn’t emotionally prepared.  As Jeeves would say, Infinity War has “the dark inevitability of Greek tragedy.”
 Spoilers, spoilers, spoilers
This movie starts grim, and apart from some well-placed jokes and light-hearted moments, it doesn’t let up.  The destruction of the Asgardians’ refuge ship was chilling.  I was relieved when Thor said that half of his people were killed, so hopefully Valkyrie led those to safety.  Heimdall, oh Heimdall.  I did not expect that we would see his death, but it was great to see him use the last bit of his power to send Hulk to earth.  As for Loki…we all knew it was coming.  Loki’s had the shadow of Thanos’ wrath hanging over him since the first Avengers film.  But I though Proxima Midnight would just stab him with her spear.  No, we had to see Thanos lift him up and crush his neck!  I go back and forth on whether this is the end of Loki.  On the one hand, even though it was short, it was a respectable end to his character arc, and Loki’s death helps drive Thor’s need for vengeance.  On the other, it reminded me a lot of Loki’s death in The Dark World, and the fact that Thanos explicitly said that Loki was really, truly dead almost felt like an acknowledgement that Loki will be back.  From the filming pics for Avengers 4, we know Loki’s going to be in some sort of flashback/time travel scene. However, I feel like this is the end of Hiddles’s Loki, but I bet that we will get kid!Loki in the future.
And then Thor crawls bleeding to Loki’s body and holds him while he waits to die too while everything burns around them AND THIS IS NOT OKAY!
I liked Dr. Strange in his own movie, but it was interesting how much he’s changed since then.  He really is the Master of the Mystic Arts now, who’s playing by a whole different set of rules.  It makes sense why he was so determined to protect the Time Stone because once Thanos got that one, it pretty much was game over.
Bruce, Bruce, poor Bruce!  *wraps Bruce up in a blanket*  He and Hulk were so terrified of Thanos.  Also, it’s interesting that Bruce know that Thanos was behind the attack on New York.  I’m guessing that Loki or the Black Order must have mentioned something during the initial attack on the Asgardians, and Bruce somehow remembered it.  Also, I liked how Bruce was the one to call Steve.
I will never be over how protective Tony is over Peter.  Loved every moment of their interactions, especially when Dr. Strange looked at them and said, “Is he your ward?”  Speaking of Dr. Strange again, he and Tony had a fascinating dynamic and tension.  A lot of people have commented on their similarities (even calling Dr. Strange Iron Man with magic), but seeing them together really highlighted their differences.  Tony’s ruled by his emotions, while Dr. Strange is coldly logical.
All of the Black Order was cool, but Ebony Maw was my favorite.  I have a huge weakness for proud, cold intellectual villains.  His telekinetic powers made him even more awesome to watch.
Wanda and Vision!  They made me melt when Vision kissed her hand.  So tender.  Admittedly, during the fight with Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive, I was thinking, “Oh I recognize that spot.  And that one! Oh look St. Gilles!”  It was two romantic couples against each other, although I’ll have to watch the movie again to see if there were any parallels between them.
When Steve showed up and the Avengers theme played, my theater erupted in applause.
Peter trying to imitate Thor’s voice was the funniest moment in the movie for me.
Like with Wanda and Vision, we don’t see the moment Peter and Gamora became a couple.  I got the feeling that had happened sometime between Guardians 2 and this, and kudos to the Russo Brothers because I hadn’t been particularly rooting for Peter/Gamora to happen, but they are surprisingly good at writing gentle, established couple romance.  Of course, both of those couples end tragically, but they were happy while they were together.
Shall we talk about the parallels between Gamora and Nebula and Loki and Thor?  First, the estranged siblings have some sort of reconciliation.  Then, Thanos brutally tortures Nebula/Thor in front of Gamora/Loki in order for them to give him the Infinity Stones.  Thanos then kills Gamora/Loki, leaving their surviving siblings on a quest for revenge.  Granted, Nebula already sought revenge, but Gamora’s death just added another thing to the pile of Reasons to Kill Thanos.
I never expected Thor and Rocket to have such a good dynamic as they did. Rocket appreciated Thor’s respect. Their conversation about what Thor has been through was heartrending, and I just wanted to wrap Thor back up in his blanket.  He’s broken, but he has to go on to avenge the deaths of his loved ones.  When Rocket asked what had happened to his best friend, I wondered if Thor was referring to the Warriors Three’s deaths in Ragnarok or Heimdall’s.  Either way, four of Thor’s close friends were stabbed in the heart.
Speaking of Rocket, I wonder if the Russo Brothers have seen that comic where the Avengers are playing D&D and the Guardians are their characters with Rocket obviously based off Bucky?
Peter Dinklage’s cameo was a great surprise.  Did not know what he was going to be in the movie.
Peter Starlord and Peter Spiderman’s interactions were great.  “Is [Footloose] still the best movie ever made?”  “It never was.”
I haven’t said anything about Thanos yet, but it’s hard to say something that everyone hasn’t already.  He definitely lives up to the hype, and his respect for the enemies who put a good fight up against him is very interesting.  For all his cruelty, he has a surprising amount of gentleness, as seen in his scenes with Gamora and Wanda.  He and Kilmonger could definitely sit down and have a talk.  Infinity War definitely is Thanos’s movie, and he rightfully dominates every scene he is in.  He is terrifying, but at the same time, he is a Well-Intentioned Extremist.  Like Marvel’s best villains, his motivations are understandable, but the actions he takes are horrible.
The battle in Wakanda as they stared at the forces against them and knew they were all going to get killed, but it was worth it to protect Vision and destroy the Mind Stone…major Return of the King vibes.
Like Loki, death has been hovering over Vision since he was created. But it was so much worse than I had expected.  THANOS RIPPED OUT A CHUNK OF HIS FOREHEAD AND VISION’S WHOLE BODY TURNED GRAY AND WANDA SAW THE WHOLE THING POWERLESS TO STOP IT!
And then Thanos gets the Mind Stone and the bodies just start falling! I wasn’t expecting them to show everyone disappearing, but they did, and it was so brutal!  Bucky’s call for Steve.  Seriously, I expected Steve and Bucky to die together but no YOU SEPARATED THEM!  YOU MONSTERS! And Steve is left holding Bucky’s ashes. And if that wasn’t bad enough, Sam dies! Steve loses both his best friends. Rocket has had to watch Groot die twice! I really didn’t expect them to kill all the Guardians except Rocket.  And T’Challa dies!  Peter I was expecting, but no, they had him cling to Tony terrified as he faded away and Tony is left mourning the kid he was supposed to protect.
Natasha’s look of shock as she stares at Vision’s body while Steve collapses.  It’s very hard to phase Nat, so seeing her so shaken was chilling.
All hail Queen Shuri?  I hope she’s still alive.  We didn’t see her dissolve, so unless confirmed otherwise, she’s alive.
Nice little nod to the comics of Thanos making a scarecrow out of his old armor.
Help us, Captain Marvel, you’re our only hope.
My favorite thing during the screening was when the line “Thanos will return” appeared on screen, a girl behind me yelled, “Oh fuck you!”
A lot happens in Infinity War and it’s so much to process.  It’ll definitely take another couple of viewings, even though it will rip my heart out every time.

Thor:Ragnarok
Had a bit more time to think about the film now and whilst I did still enjoy it, I’m also trying to reconcile myself to the things I didn’t like as much.
I’m still not entirely sure what I think overall. I guess if I was to try and summarise my thoughts, it’s that I overall liked what they did, just not really how they did it.
There is some really good stuff in the film and I’m glad that the critics and fans so far are favourable about it. The more fans the better, as I really want another solo Thor film now.
The thing is though, it’s just not really what I wanted from the (potentially) last Thor film. And I’m still trying to reconcile myself to that.
But more than anything, it feels like I’m still stuck in limbo. That even after waiting 6 years for this film, I’ll still have to wait and see what happens in the rest of the MCU. I don’t think I can really give an overall opinion until I know how it all fits together. And I’ve had chance to rewatch this film.
I think now more than ever (and I thought this after Thor 2 as well) being part of the wider MCU is both it’s greatest strength, and greatest weakness.
And whilst I think this review is a little harsh, it does hit upon a good few of the issues I had with the film. Contains spoilers - http://www.theactionpixel.com/comics/tapreviews-thor-ragnarok/
I don’t want to analyse the film bit by bit. Not only will I need to see the film again to do that properly, but I think it’ll do more harm than good. It’s not a film you can really pick apart and analyse like the first 2. It’s a film to be taken as a whole, looking at how it’s meant to fit together and fit into the wider MCU. So I’m trying to do that.
But... (My own thoughts and lots of spoilers below):
My biggest issue is the overall style of the film. As I feared from the trailer, it was very much a sci-fi road trip space adventure film. Not as GotG like as I expected, but definitely a very different vibe to the previous two. This wasn’t all bad - the scenes on the alien world of Sakaar fitted this vibe and did work with the story. And the fight scenes to Led Zeppelin were pretty darn cool. But it was all just too much - too different. There wasn’t much of a norse, medieval fantasy feel to the film like we had in the first two. The colours were bright and vivid, the music like an 80s disco, more 80s sci fi than LotR like the first two.
Yes, it was a Thor film, you could tell that. And thankfully, unlike Cap 3, it was Thor’s film. He was the main character from start to finish. The Asgard sets were the same, the nods to the previous two were all there. But the vibe was just too much a change to what had gone before and that grated with me. I’m a stickler for continuity and this film didn’t give a damn about it. If they’d started the trilogy with this vibe, fair enough, and it was entertaining and fun, but it just didn’t fit with the Thor world we’d come to know.
For me, they spent too long on this world of Sakaar and tbh I was getting a bit bored. I wanted more Asgard, more the oncoming Ragnarok, more epic fantasy than space adventure. And whilst it was there, it never really took much focus. It felt a secondary plot line to the space adventure. Which brings me to my next gripe with the film - it was played a bit too light heartedly.
One of the things I love most about the Marvel films is how fun and light hearted they are, how they don’t try to be too gritty and dark. But this was a bit too much. Things that needed more emotional weight like Odin’s death, the reveal of Loki as Odin, the loss of Thor’s hammer, the oncoming apocalypse and the destruction of Asgard, were brushed over and just too damn short. There were some interesting themes going on; Hela being their sister, Odin once being a destroyer of worlds not a saviour, then locking away his first born and never mentioning her again. But they were never really explored. Every time the scenes/storyline got a bit more emotional and weighty, it was interrupted by a comic turn - very obviously so. Things just weren’t allowed to settle, to have their proper time, before the next gag came along. Like they were almost afraid of anything being a bit serious. Thor went through so much, but took it all with a witty line and a grin. There wasn’t really any growth in his character. And whilst I loved the whole arc of him realising his power lay within him, not the hammer and finally accepting his place as King, it’s just not focused on enough to really connect with you.
Tbh, nearly all the elements I wanted were there - Loki and Thor’s (semi - it’ll never be perfect and final) reconciliation, Odin accepting both his sons and saying goodbye to them both. Thor realising his destiny and birthright as the God of Thunder and King of Asgard, with a Loki you’re still not entirely sure you can trust at his side. The destruction wrought by Hela and the people fleeing, the little people taking a stand and character redemption, the coming of Ragnarok and the destruction of Asgard. It was all there, ticked the boxes and set everything up nicely for the Infinity Wars. It just took secondary place to the space adventure. Like it was only there because it had to be, not because they wanted it to be.
For me, the whole film felt like it was being played as a fun jokey adventure, a bit of a lark. And whilst I like humour, this was too much. And tbh, I thought Thor 2 was absolutely hilarious in places - I couldn’t stop laughing at some scenes. But I didn’t really do more than crack a smile in this. Maybe it was just me, maybe when I see it again, knowing what to expect and with a (hopefully) less nervous mindset, I will laugh more. But I didn’t really hear anyone else laughing in the cinema much either. It wasn’t that the jokes fell flat or didn’t work, they just didn’t make me laugh out loud - more just amusing. And I think that was because the whole film was played as a one line joke - never once taking itself seriously really. There wasn’t the dramatic moments followed by the fun joke which tends to diffuse tension and works well in these type of films. This just had so many jokes nothing really stood out and it kinda got old. Not that the film wasn’t fun, it just didn’t make me laugh like I’ve done in other Marvel films. Although, to be fair, I’d say this fault was more with the Sakaar scenes than the Asgard ones. The Asgard ones had a different humour, a more witty, dark humour that I much preferred.
And that jokey, light hearted feel definitely didn’t help the characters. Whilst they were essentially the same characters, no major changes happening there, you just didn’t take them as seriously. Thor, as mentioned above, just seemed to take everything in his stride and even the destruction of his home world, the loss of his hammer, the death of his father and the revelation he had a sister, didn’t seem to phase him. Whilst ok, Thor’s been spending the last two years roaming the universe looking for Infinity Stones, has perhaps had time to chill out a bit on Earth, it didn’t quite make sense to me. It wasn’t quite Thor. He was just too self aware and smart, too snarky and laid back, too human over Asgardian warrior and prince/king. Like he was taking too many tips from Tony Stark. And this is just too much at odds with how we last saw him.
It was Thor, of course, and no issues with the acting at all, it’s just that the jokey, fun vibe to the film didn’t give him chance to do anything but brush it off his shoulders and move on after a witty line (he’s definitely been hanging out with Tony Stark too much!). Odin too, lacked the gravity of a dying King, making amends with his sons, whilst lamenting on the mistakes he’d made. And was that really the best vista they could find in a country as beautiful as Norway? And what happened to the streets we saw in the trailer? (And don’t even try to convince me they weren’t taking the mick out of Star Wars 8 with that scene with Odin!)
And as for Loki, well, on the plus side, thankfully they didn’t take him back to his Avenger’s madness phase. They didn’t (thank goodness!!!) have him kill Odin or reverse his epic emotional redemption arc from Thor 2. And his character craving recognition more than actual power was definitely at play here, if a bit heavy handed. But he seemed to be more the comic relief/sidekick a bit too much. He was still Loki, you still didn’t quite know whether to trust him (wonder what Loki took from that weapons vault!), but the film just didn’t have time for him to shine as his snarky, clever, plotting, sneaky self. Like he was there to play the fool to make Thor look like the smart one. (Yes, Thor’s gotten smarter, but the whole Thor/Loki dynamic was just gratingly off kilter at times.)
And there were a few times it felt like Loki’s character did regress too much. Where was the plotting their escape plan on Sakaar, or the scheming how to defeat Hela and save Asgard? I kept on waiting for it to come, and it just didn’t!  Because him just accepting Asgard’s fate, happy to carry on living in Sakaar and watching Thor get beaten to a pulp didn’t quite fit with Thor 2 Loki, who risked his life to save Jane and Thor. Loki’s never struck me as a lazy, apathetic character and he felt like one here. It didn’t sit well with me how willing he was for Thor to just go and fight (and most likely die) in the arena, or for him to sell him back during their escape. I know Loki will always be Loki, God of Mischief, but it just was a bit too simple and character backwards for Loki at this point. They did kinda touch on that, but it’s like they momentarily forgot Loki’s own character growth in the MCU. They definitely did not make the most of him being King and gave him very little to do other than a few jokes, which were pretty much all on him. Again, no issues with the acting, it’s just that the film didn’t really have time for him. Which is such a shame. Loki is one of MCUs best characters imo and he felt kind of wasted here. And yes, him and Thor had their reconciliation, but it was all played too light heartedly for me. Thor was fine with it all, as he seems to be fine with pretty much everything in this film.  And tbh, that kind of spoiled it a bit for me - an emotional reunion played for laughs with not much actual emotion. Although the end reconciliation did make up for it somewhat - that felt much more genuine. And tbh, like a lot with this film, I really need to see how Loki’s character, and Thor and Loki’s dynamic, plays out in the Infinity Wars with different directors/writers.
Heimdall was the only main character who felt like he was given anything much to do emotionally/drama wise and I liked the efforts he went to to help save the people of Asgard. But for me, it was all too brief, all left by the way side so the film could have their space adventure on Sakaar. And I’m not sure what I feel about The Warriors Three. I didn’t want them to die, I liked them, and I can’t decide if their deaths were worth it or not. I’m not sure if the film killed them off quick to make a bold statement of Hela’s power and villianous ambition, or if they just wanted to get rid of their characters quick. At the time of watching, I was eagerly waiting for Sif to come along, but I’m guessing now they’re saving her for another time, so my thoughts on that will have to wait.
As for Jane, that’s probably my third biggest gripe. I get she didn’t really have a story in this film and so didn’t need to be in it, but after being the main love interest for 2 films, a quick comic line that she dumped him is just not enough! Again though, my thoughts will have to really wait on this one - I’m hoping (even if I know it’s unlikely), she’ll at least be mentioned again and they do her character more justice. If that’s it for her character, never to be seen or mentioned ever again, I’ll not be very happy with this - screwing her over for laughs and to bring in a new love interest. Yes, Valkyrie is kick ass, but come on, aren’t we passed the days all superheroes need kick ass girlfriends. There are plently of other ways female characters can be strong and worthy - which the first two Thor films portrayed well.
The Hulk, well, he’s not a Thor character and whilst he wasn’t needed in this film, his appearance was ok. In fact, I enjoyed his appearance more than I expected. It did fit well with the story and I felt like they at least gave him some interesting character arc and emotional weight - be interesting to see how he copes now. My only gripe here was just how much time they spent on the two characters bantering and bickering - I wanted them to hurry up and escape and get back to Asgard!
Hela was brilliant but, like most Marvel villians, very underused, even more so than other films tbh. And her demise felt kinda lacklustre really, a bit of an anticlimax (Basically like the whole Ragnarok side of the story). And whilst her motive made sense, we had seen it all before.
As for Valkyrie, I liked her, she was not what I expected and she did have some emtional storyline/character arc. But tbh, I didn’t want a new love interest for Thor (thankfully it was just hints), and felt that they gave her character too much time and depth which, as there was so little going around, I’d have preferred spent on other characters. I am interested to see what becomes of her character (please no love interest for Thor!), and how she’s going to fit into the overall MCU.
Overall the lack of depth to the characters this time around meant that whilst the film was fun and entertaining, it wasn’t really very satisfying. There was no real emotional interplay or connection/investment in the film. A real popcorn superhero blockbuster if ever there was one, full of lots of fun but no real substance. If I didn’t already know these characters, I wouldn’t feel emotionally connected/invested in them at all. There was no sense of drama, of urgency, of emotion. This is Ragnarok, the end of Asgard, but it just felt like a minor inconvenience to their space adventure. Even the actual destruction was played as a joke and over way too quickly.
So, that’s pretty much my main gripes with the film - too much in general. Too much change, too much comedy and too much trying to be different but without actually breaking the mould.
It’s not that the emotion and depth wasn’t there, it just was always second and overshadowed by the need to be fun and entertaining. In fact, I’m still not sure if they meant to take the mickey out of that side of the story - and the mickey out of the last two Thor films as well. It’s hard to tell when the film was so light hearted throughout. It certainly didn’t really care about what happened in them at best. (And the near the beginning scene with Loki and the play makes me wonder if they really were taking the mick out of Thor 2 and not in a nice way.)
And I think this is where my opinion pretty much differs from most people. Because most people in reviews I’ve read loved the film. They loved this change in vibe, found it a breathe of fresh air. In fact, other than some reviewers agreeing with it being a bit too light hearted at times, they like how it wasn’t like the previous Thor films. And whilst I can appreciate that, for me that’s just not what I wanted. And THAT, in one sentence, is my biggest problem with this film. It’s not what I wanted.
That’s not to say I don’t get what they’ve done - something different. Not the same old dramatic, emotional storylines we’ve had in previous Thor films. Not yet another emotional family reunion and saga. Not another focus on a romance that can never work, or the same ol’ character growth and redemption. Not another end of the world, impending doom leading up to big battle like we’ve had in pretty much all MCU films. This film is different, it sets out to be different and I get that, and I can’t fault it for that. It’s just not what I wanted.
I love the world and the characters brought to us in Thor 1. I loved seeing this world grow in depth, space and character in Thor 2. And whilst both films had their flaws, I really, really loved them. So I didn’t want a change in direction, I wanted more of the same, but more epic, more dramatic, more worthy of a final installment of a franchise - this is the Norse apocalypse after all.
And I’d have settled for a compromise between the two. If they’d toned it down a bit, had more of a balance between the two themes (the fun space adventure and more serious oncoming destruction of Asgard), I’d have been much happier. And I know Marvel can do that, because they’ve done it before in so many other films. In fact, earlier Marvel phases were brilliant at mixing the comedy with the drama, the ordinary with the extraordinary.
But Marvel didn’t want that, they wanted something different. And other than the film being played like too much of a lark, I can’t really fault the film for that. (Except in the way they handled Jane’s character and if I set aside being a stickler for continuity.)
In one review, the film was basically referred to as being about as comic book like and comic book lad/boy friendly as you can get, and I kinda agree. And I guess Marvel knows its target audience.
It’s just not what I wanted.
And the previous two Thor films brought something new to the comic book superhero genre, that this film just seems to take delight in stomping all over. (Ok, maybe that’s too harsh, I don’t really know if it wanted to poke not nice fun at the past films or not).
It is kind of my own fault - I got sucked into the MCU through Thor and what I love most about Thor is the LotR fantasy vibe, not the comic book vibe. And this is what I wanted in Thor 3. It was kinda there, but just so downplayed and lighthearted it was pretty unsatisfying. And ok, so Thor 2 wasn’t really a comic book film and a lot of people consider it one of the weakest Marvel films (I disagree, but YMMV). And I get that they wanted to bring Thor back more into a comic book vibe, fit it in better with the overall MCU. And I get that, but for me, this is just a complete 180 turn that I find grating, not refreshing.
Ultimately, for me, the problem is that Marvel is focused on the wider MCU and the Infinity Wars end game. And whilst that brings a big budget, instant popularity and lots of great people and investment and interest to the film, it also brings it’s baggage. It has to have it’s place in the wider MCU, it has to keep it’s comic book routes and, as is the thing with Phase 3 and 4, it has to introduce/bring back lots of other characters who don’t really serve much purpose but in trying to bring it all together. And this film does do that well - of all the films, Thor is the obvious choice for bringing in the GotG threads.
And whilst I’ve written wayyyyy more than I intended on my gripes with the film, overall I did enjoy it. It was fun, dazzling and whilst not laugh out loud funny, definitely amusing. It did tick the boxes and had some great new characters and brought back brilliant old ones. It touched upon some interesting ideas, visually was stunning, and stayed relatively true to the characters. The storyline was great, not brilliant and it had it’s plot holes, but it worked and was about on par with most MCU plots. It fitted the MCU and it fitted Thor. (Can’t really think of much else to say on the plot thh)
The film had all the elements, all the right pieces (pretty much), it just didn’t fit them together and present them in the way I wanted. It felt like the film was meant to simply be a fun, popcorn blockbuster to bridge the other films and fill the studio’s wallets until The Infinity Wars comes out. It’s not the epic finale to the Thor franchise I wanted.
TBH, from this post I know I sound pretty annoyed about the film, but in all honesty, I’m not. I’m just getting these thoughts out of my head and trying to reconcile the good with the bad - that what I didn’t like is what everyone else loved. Luckily, I’d seen the trailers, I went through the annoyed/frustrated stage then and I kinda knew what I was in for.
It’s just not what I wanted from the last Thor film. Imho, it’s not the fitting end to a franchise I’ve loved so much and been far too invested in. And I’m kinda resigning myself to that.
But that’s where the limbo comes in, as it’s not really over. This film is basically just another page in the MCU story and until all the pages are written, I don’t really know. Just like after pretty much every Marvel film lately, I’ll have to wait and see what the future holds to form a long lasting opinion on this film.
It definitely felt more like the next installment in the MCU than the end of the Thor franchise. So I guess I’ll have to see where they take things in the Infinity Wars and if (and here’s still hoping) we get a Thor 4. (That would be fun just to say!)
There’s still lots of potential left in the Thor part of the MCU, so I guess I’ll have to wait and see if it’s realised. If that’s it for Thor (other than his compulsory token appearances in Infinity Wars), then I doubt I’ll ever really reconcile myself to this film. If we see more proper story with Thor (preferably in more solo Thor films), then I may let this film off the hook, may even come to love it almost as much as the other Thor films.
For now though, I’ll just try and remember all the good stuff (and there’s lots of good stuff) in this film, and not the things I didn’t really want...
#Can’t wait til this shows in America and there’s more people around to discuss this with #Please PM me if you want to discuss. #I just still don’t know what to make of this film tbh.
