As Eddie and I walked towards the backstage area again he grabs my side and pulls me in. Unfortunately, he rubs my ribs which is where the guy in the pit had hit me so I whimper a bit and immediately he stops in the middle of the hall.
Just far enough away from the crowd for no one to hear but just close enough to where I had no trouble hearing their shouts.
“Woah. You okay?” Eddie scans me and I nod quickly.
“Oh yea. The pit got a bit rough is all.” I shrug but his eyes grow with worry.
“What?!” He whines and begins trying to lift my shirt to see. I glance to the crowd and blush.
“Eddie. We’re in public.” I whisper and he glances to the crowd too. He smiles at them then looks back to me.
“How hard were you hit?” He mumbles as let’s my shirt fall back down around me. I pull my jeans up a bit and fit my clothes before sighing.
“Not hard. Really. I’m fine. He bought me a drink to make up for it.” I smile but Eddie squints.
“He?” Eddie crossed his arms over his chest and glares suspiciously. I laugh at his expression which causing him to whine a bit. “Baby!” He huffs.
“Yea. Just some guy. Are you jealous?” I lean into his chest despite his arms blocking me and smirk up at him.
Eddie blushes and shakes his head. “Of some random who hit you in order to buy you a drink as some lame form of apology? No.” He stares down at me and I can’t help but laugh at his seriousness.
“Good because I love you. Not him. Though I’m sure he didn’t hit me on purpose.”
“Debatable.” Eddie huffs.
“That I love you or that he hit me purposefully?” I giggle.
“The ladder.” Eddie smiles down at me and starts to lean in for a kiss. I glance over to the still bustling crowd trying to push past security.
“Am I allowed to kiss you in public?” I whisper and Eddie halts.
“What?” He tilts his head and places both hands on my hips pulling me against him.
“I don’t know. I just… are we supposed to be a secret?” I bite my bottom lip nervously and Eddie smirks.
“No baby… you can kiss me whenever you’d like.” He leans down into me and the crowd erupts into all sorts of noises making me jump. Eddie glances their way and sighs. “They scare ya?”
“Just shocked me.” I giggle and Eddie nudges his nose against mine. Begging me to kiss him.
“My love, please.” His eyes flutter closed and I waste no time pressing my lips to his. As we kiss in the hall the crowd only grows in volume.
When we break apart Eddie looks over to them and smiles again. “Sexy isn’t she?!” He shouts to them and I quickly shove him.
“Eddie!” I blush deeply and grab his hand trying to drag him away. He chuckles and quickly starts to lead the way again.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Once at the after party which was at a fancy restaurant, closed for the night. I can’t help but feel out of place. Once again Eddie had been ripped from me as soon as we got there. Understandable but no less frustrating or isolating.
I find myself standing by the bar swirling a straw around my drink absentmindedly. I sigh and watch the party. People laughing, drinking, making out in dark corners. I look around for a phone wondering if I can call Dustin.
As I look a man settles beside me at the bar.
“Hi.” He hums. I look over to him and smile politely.
“Hi.”
“You have a beautiful smile.” His words don’t fail to make me blush.
“Oh! Um, thank you.” I quickly flick my eyes around the party until I see Eddie and his backstage manager with a few other people. I watch as her hand find Eddie’s arm and quickly intertwines her arm with his.
My nose scrunches up and the man speaks up again.
“Crushing on Eddie?” He chuckles. I look over to him and get ready to tell him who I am but he cuts in again. “Don’t get your hopes up. My sister has had her fangs in him for sometime now.” He rolls his eyes and I find my brows scrunching.
“They… the two of them? I-“
“Oh yea. They were somewhat of an item for a few months.” He sips his drink casually which is when I realize he must be quite intoxicated to be telling me, a random stranger, all of this.
“Months?” My heart sinks as I look at them again. Her nails running up and down his back and he chuckles at something someone said.
Oh god. I’m gonna be sick.
Why did no one tell me that the super gorgeous model manager was shagging my boyfriend in the past. And from the looks of it wanting to continue said shagging.
“Yea. Like bunnies!” He slurs a bit and I feel queasy. How lovely.
He suddenly tries to stand from his seat next to me and stumbles. I go to catch him and he nearly tips me over.
I squeal a bit when his drink spills down the front of my shirt. Go figure.
“Are you okay?!” I question and he hums.
“I’m gonna throw up.” He huffs and his breath hits my face.
“Oh god. I know the feeling.” I gag. I try to prop him up in his seat again but fail. He’s quite bigger than I am. “Please don’t throw up on me. That’s not a good look… for either of us.” I keep trying to holding him up but he gets heavier by the minute. “You’re the bands manager right? One of them at least?” I whisper and he gasps.
“How do you know that? You psychic?” He stares down at me and I shake my head.
“No.” I giggle.
“I don’t feel so good.”
“Please don’t throw up.” As I say this his body weight seems to double as his legs start to give out. I groan trying to keep him up.
This can’t look good if the manager of the band is blackout drunk. Suddenly I hear my name.
“Indie?” Sailor says as he grabs my shoulder. I glance at him and smile widely.
“Thank god! I’ve never been happier to see your gorgeous face!” I laugh. “Help me get him to the bathroom.”
“Oh god! Is that Luke?” He whispers and sets his drink down at the bar.
“Is Luke your manager?” Sailor nods at my question. “Then yes this is Luke.”
“Shit.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sailor and I get Luke to the bathroom just in time for him to rush to a toilet and puke his guts out.
“Oh shit. Not again Luke!” Sailor groans.
“Happens often?” I question.
“Yes. More than I’d like to admit. He’s a great manager, great guy, but a drunk.” Sailor turns to look at me and frowns. “Are you okay? He was leaning on ya pretty heavy.”
“Oh I’m fine. Im just glad he didn’t puke in front of all those people like he wanted to.” I giggle and sailor can’t help but join.
We stand there in a comfortable silence for a minute before I decide to take a chance. “So…” sailor looks over to me and raise a brow. “Eddie and your backstage manager?” I force a false smile.
Sailors face drops. His eyes widen and then shift to Luke. “Damnit. He told you didn’t he?” Sailor bite his lip and I nod. “How much did he-“
“I believe he said for months like bunnies.” I sigh and push my hair out of my face. Sailor frowns and nods.
“Fuck.” He stares at me obviously trying to gauge my reaction to all of this. “Fuck.” He repeats.
“I mean. It’s not all on Luke. I would’ve caught on with how she grabs him and caresses his back Sailor.” I cross my arms over my chest and he sighs to himself.
He rubs his hands over his face and shakes his head. “This isn’t happening.”
“We’re they official?”
“I… maybe you should talk to Eddie about that…”
“Mmm okay. I’ve got one you can answer.” I stare Sailor down causing him to shrink before me. “Why does it seem like all of you agreed to keep it from me?” I tilt my head and Sailors eyes widen. “Are you kidding me?!” I groan.
“Indie…”
“You all were going to keep it from me? And what? When I started to catch on and ask questions were you all just gonna let me feel crazy?”
“I-“
“Nope. Save it.” I put my hand up and Sailor goes quiet. We stand there together in silence for at least five minutes. Sailor opening and closing his mouth trying to think of something to say.
Finally Luke sits up from the toilet and turns to face us. He glances between us and frowns.
“I feel better…” he mumbles to himself mostly.
“Great. Good luck Sailor.” I huff and storm out before he can stop me.
Once out in the party again I realize how alone I am. I left home. I agreed to travel the country with these men without really knowing what they are capable of. Without realizing their loyalty is with Eddie one hundred percent.
So here I am. Soaked in alcohol. Lied to. Alone. No friends to confide in.
I look around to see Eddie still with Luke’s sister. With her still wrapped around him.
“Oh fuck this.” I huff and quickly make my way to the exit. Once past security I dash towards the doors.
Outside I expect to be hit with silence and peace but instead camera flashes go off all around me.
“Are you a friend of the band?”
“Who are you?”
“Are you…”
Oh god. Will this night never end. I sigh and squint as mics are shoved in my face. I force a small smile and hold back tears of frustration and confusion in my eyes.
“I’m nobody. I don’t even know the band.” I smile politely. “Sorry. I’m just a plus one. Nothing exciting!” I giggle and everyone pulls their mics back. They apologize and I push past them out into the night.
Finally.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After a few minutes outside I find myself crying on a curb. I miss my friends. I miss home.
I push my hair from my face and watch as the paparazzi hover around the door. Waiting for someone to leave.
I turn my face to the sky and sigh. Maybe I’m just not meant for this. Day ten, first show, and I’m already overwhelmed and finding out that the whole band, including my boyfriend, are keeping things from me.
I hear someone sit down beside me and quickly look over. A young women with a camera and a mic is smiling softly at me.
“Hi.” I smile and wipe my face quickly.
“Hi.” She grins. “Why are you out here when you were invited in there?”
“Honestly?” I laugh humorlessly. And she nods. “It’s lonely in there. I miss my friends.” I sniffle and she nods again.
“Who are you here with if not a friend?” She asks softly and I squint at her a bit. “Off the record.” She jokes causing both of us to laugh.
“My boyfriend. Except he’s hanging out with his ex right now. Though. I just learned she was his ex about fifteen minutes ago.” I roll my eyes and she hisses.
“You’re kidding.”
“I wish.”
There is a brief silence before she speaks up again.
“Ya know what. You should get back in there. Have fun despite the sucky atmosphere. Prove to everyone in there you’re the life of the party.” She huffs and I giggle.
“I’ve never really been the life of any party.” I smile and she rolls her eyes.
“I doubt that. Just consider it.” She hums before glancing back to the crowd. “Okay. I should get back to work.”
“Right.” I smile as she stands up again. “Um… why did you come over here?” I question as I stare up at her from the curb.
“Honestly… I couldn’t stand to watch you cry. It was… heartbreaking really. No one should cry alone like this.” She smiles a sad sort of smile before walking back to the crowd of cameras.
I sigh and look up at the stars once more.
~~~~~~~~~~
As I politely push my way back inside and get past security the party is still in full swing. My eyes almost immediately lock with Sailor who is standing with Gates, Taylor and Devin. All of them chatting with worried expression.
Sailor nods to me and they all look over. Eyes wide and filled with emotions. I look around to now see Eddie and Luke’s sister alone chatting in a darker corner of the room.
I roll my eyes and head for the bar. I shoot down a shot still feeling the boys’ eyes on me before I head to the dj in the corner as he sifts through record.
Time to pull out my usual Hawkins hideout tricks. I pull my shirt down a bit and rustle my hair up a bit. I lean over his table and whisper in his ear.
As I lean back I glance over to the boys. Their eyes curious and still glued to me. I look around the party. To be honest it isn’t that different from the hideout on a Saturday night.
Chrissy and I always dance at the hideout on Saturdays. So there is no reason I can’t dance now. I smile as the dj puts a new record on for me and smirks at me. Clearly glancing down at my cleavage peaking out of my top.
I grin at him as Yankee Rose by David Lee Roth start blaring through the speakers. I giggle to myself. And to think all I asked was for him to play a song that he thought encapsulated me.
I quickly make my way to where lots of people are dancing. I wink at the dj as I start to move my hips to the beat. I whip my hair as I spin around and giggle to myself.
Even as I dance I feel the boys’ eyes burning into me. As the music slows in the song the dj quickly comes on through the speakers and smirks. He points to me and smirks. “And that was a special song for the pretty lady in the middle of the floor. And because she’s so beautiful here’s another one just for you.” He winks as Rock You Like A Hurricane begins.
I giggle and I start to dance again. Everyone on the floor joining me in jumping and singing the song with a few hips swings every now and then. Before I know it a girl near me grabs my hips and starts moving with me. We both giggle and I can feel the alcohol lowering my good judgment.
As the song ends I look over to the boys again to see Eddie with them. All of them chatting. Sailor is talking and then suddenly all eyes are on me as another song starts up. The same girl spins me around and continues to dance with me.
For the whole next song I can feel Eddie’s eyes on me. It’s different than the boys’, it stings more. It pricks my skin. It’s intoxicating. And at this moment. I hate it.
After the song I break away and walk towards the bar to get some water. As I sit down I feel the air around me shift. I swivel in my chair to find the whole band behind me. Eddie in the forefront. All with apologetic faces and eyes.
I thank the bartender for the water and sigh before taking a sip. “To what do I owe the pleasure?” I lift my brows at them and Eddie’s frowns.
“I’m sorry.”
“Okay.” I shrug.
“Indie… we are all sorry. I… I didn’t want to make anything tense for you.”
“Well now look at us.”
Eddie’s face drops at my words and I feel my stomach drop as well.
“Okay… I deserved that.” He meets my gaze and his face turns a sort of serious I rarely see in him. “There is nothing going on between me and Stella. She’s just a friend and manager now.”
“Looks like it.” I grin sarcastically and Eddie sighs.
“Indie…” he reaches for me but I lean back against the bar. He halts and nods. “I really am sorry. We all are.”
There is a silence between us all and I nod. “Are you actually or are you just sorry y’all got caught?” I cross my arms and they all look down to the ground. I almost feel bad for them. “I’m done for the night so I think I’m gonna get out back to the bus.” I sigh and quickly set my water down.
“I’ll come with-“
“Alone.” I huff and push past them all.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Once out of my alcohol and sweat soaked clothes I feel my body relax. I quickly change into Eddie old hellfire shirt and shorts. I wipe my makeup off and flop onto the bed.
I lay there for what feels like a few minutes but must be at least an hour. I hear the bus door open and the boys mumbling as they climb on in.
Even their mumbles seem sad and sorry.
I open the bedroom door and walk out to find them all at the table. They all look up when they see me but stay silent. I grab a cup and pour myself some tea and turn to face them. I lean against the counter while they all look up at me as if they are shamed.
I sigh and meet their separate gazes. Ending with Eddie who looks to be in physical pain.
“I’m not mad.” I shift a bit and grin. “Well. Not anymore.” They all perk up a bit and I sigh. “I’m just hurt. And I don’t trust any of you anymore.” It’s almost as if this crushes them more than if I was just mad. “With that being said. You all have another show tomorrow. There is leftover pasta in the fridge if you’re hungry.”
They all share confused glances.
“I’m going to bed. Goodnight.” I down my tea and head back to the bedroom. I can hear whispers and feet padding after me. I don’t even bother closing the door.
When I hear it click I turn to see Eddie standing there. He frowns at me and I sigh.
“Can we talk about this?” He frowns and I shake my head as I crawl into bed.
“I think it’s best we just get some sleep.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And we did, or at least we tried to sleep. Both of us tossed and turned all night long. I couldn't stop thinking through the events of the night. Most important of all, I couldn't stop seeing Stella's hands all over Eddie... knowing the two of them were... together. Maybe not as a couple but at least in some capacity... she was someone who made him feel wanted.

Pepper Potts x Tony Stark smut ??
I've already responded to this request however I sadly forgot to save it to my drafts so this is my rewritten work which is hopefully as good as the original 😂 Thank you very much for the request though - keep them coming for all marvel characters!
🔥💕 I miss you
After Captain Marvel returns Tony to Earth he's a different man and Pepper feels...alone. That is until Tony decided to show her just how much he has missed her. TW. P in V smut, oral, Tony feeling sad about himself but very fluffy.
4 minutes
Tumblr media
Pepper slammed the lakehouse door shut behind her as she heaved the shopping bags through.
It had been a few months since Thanos snapped and Tony had since returned from Titan to his now wife who is currently 7 months pregnant.
☆-----------------------------------------------☆
When Captain Marvel had brought Tony back he was merely a shell of the man he had once been after having lost almost everything.
Peppers pregnancy however had brought some hope for him though, a new purpose for him. He had meaning again.
A new optimism arose within him and he felt the need to move on from his past and focus on the future - a bright one where he no longer had to worry about the responsibility of being a superhero and his main worry will be baby names.
With this new optimism however came new downfalls.
He shut out the remaining avengers.
He blocked as many past memories as possible.
He didn't allow himself the opportunity to greive.
And he also didn't allow himself to be intimate, physically, emotionally, socially and sexually which left Pepper feeling a little...alone.
He simply changed himself. He was no longer Iron Man or Tony Stark - billionaire, playboy, genius, philanthropist. He was just Tony Stark, a normal expectant father without any worries.
☆-----------------------------------------------☆
Pepper made her way to the nursery where she knew Tony would be and sure enough he was on top of the stepladder, paintbrush in hand, creating the most extraordinary intricate work any nursery had ever had.
He turned smiling at her showing of all of his sparkly white teeth.
"Hey honey, what do you think?"
"Oh Tony it's beautiful, it really is. I love it".
Tony made his way down the ladder and headed over to his wonderful wife to place a light quick kiss on her lips.
Pepper was quicker though as she suddenly felt the urge to deepen the kiss to show him just how much she missed and needed him. She held him by the back of his neck and pressed him to her hard.
Tony felt different though. Her feelings were not reciprocated to him and he was suddenly overwhelmed by so many emotions.
Guilt. Shame. Doubt. Regret. Sadness. Anger.
Because it was all his fault.
Why did he get to enjoy his life with his loved ones whilst the other half of the universe is gone? Whilst their families are all mourning why does he get to celebrate?
No. It didn't feel right. He couldn't do this.
He pulled away and walked out of the room and Pepper heard him mutter something about 'needing fresh air' although there was no doubt about the strain in his voice.
☆-----------------------------------------------☆
Pepper lay in bed wide awake a few hours later. Dinner had came and went, spent mostly in an awkward silence over the events earlier. She just didn't know how to bring the topic up.
Tony stood in the doorway of the bedroom gazing at his wife who had her back turned to the entrance. He rarely slept in the same bed as her anymore due to the extremity of his insomnia and if he did sleep he opted to choose the couch where he wouldn't wake her in case of a nightmare.
Pepper tossed and turned so uncomfortable in the bed due to her swollen pregnant stomach - god nobody said it was this hard.
"Peps?"
She gave a slight jump and turned to find her husband. The bed dipped a little as he sat on the side of it, stroking her arm.
"Can we talk about before Tony, please?" Pepper begged. "I just want to understand".
"Pepper it isn't fair. It's all my fault. How can I enjoy my life with you when all of them don't even get a life? It should have been me".
Even in the darkness Pepper could catch the shimmer of tears in his eyes and the sob he choked back.
"Tony don't say that. We've all made mistakes but that doesn't mean we should be punished forever - everyone deserves a second chance. It's nobody's fault and you couldn't have stopped him so stop blaming yourself". Pepper cradled his face and she felt wetness fall into her palms from the tears that began to drip down.
"Thanks peps...I think that's what I needed to hear" Tony sniffed.
"Come here". Tony lay down into Peppers arms and that's how they lay for a few minutes. Just embracing one another in silence, unlike the awkward one at dinner, this silence had a calming atmosphere.
After a few minutes Tony looked over and gazed into Peppers eyes. They were a deep ocean blue and he missed them so much because this is the woman who he had fallen in love with yet also hurt and neglected so much these past few months.
He kissed her. For the first time in so long properly - with true love and passion.
He carefully climbed over on top of her, so as not to squish her baby bump and continued his kissing.
"Tony you don't have to do this".
"Mmm. No I want to - as long as you're comfortable that is" Tony quickly added to which Pepper gave an excited and rushed nod.
He gently lifted her nightdress over her body and discarded his clothes aswell and Pepper immediately revelled in the sight.
The baby hormones had been driving her crazy for this for so long.
Tony took off her underwear and kissed her all the way down her body, showing slightly more love to her stomach before continuing his journey downwards. When he got to her heat he planted another quick kiss and let her wrap her legs around his neck as he got to work sucking and licking as he just let her use him. He could've got off from just that alone.
Pepper was an absolute moaning mess. Tony was so experienced and she forgot how it felt to be treated like this.
Her mouth gaped open fully wide as she tried to moan but she was left utterly speechless as Tony stayed there attacking her bundle of neves.
When he had finished she felt so tired out and sensitive yet she still wanted more. Tony came back up to kiss her on the lips again and his beard was all dishevelled and wet even though he had a big smug smile plastered on his face.
He slipped into her so easily and let out a groan in her neck. He held her for a moment. He was on top of her and inside her. One hand cradling the back of her head, the other holding her baby bump and he realised that this is how he wants to be forever. And they stayed like that for a few seconds just staring at eachother before Tony realised that he needed to move.
He tenderly moved in and out of his beautiful wife as they both whispered sweet nothings to eachother and kissed one another through passionate exchanges.
Suddenly Pepper clenched around him and he let out a guttural groan onto her lips at the unanticipated tension and they both stilled for a moment before he continued again.
They used to have quite a high sex drive but they had never made love quite like this before. This was something new.
"Peps...i need to..."
Tony stared directly into Peppers eyes as he pushed one final time into her and released his all inside her - rubbing her gently so she could join him in the pleasure and sure enough she clung to his neck as she also reached her climax.
Their eyes connected as he dragged them both through their highs and pulled out of the very exhausted and stimulated Pepper.
☆-----------------------------------------------☆
And that's when Tony came up with the plan.
The plan to bring everyone back.

Tekken 8 from Nina's perspective, Chapter Five - A Fate Decided by Fists
Outskirts of Nagoya, Former Misihma Zaibatsu territory, Japan
The flight between Tokyo and Nagoya took Nina a few hours, with pain streaking through her body like a hedgehog. The fight with Master Raven, albeit a victorious one, left her in a state worse than she previously anticipated. But she held on, as she intended to keep herself going until she reached the supposed battlefront between Mishima Zaibatsu and G-Corporation. Supposedly, because according to her reports, there is no military presence in what was left of the city of Nagoya. Only stragglers and occasional scavengers. Nothing really too pleasing to Nina's mind, right now.
Holding onto the piloting handle of the helicopter, Nina took the vehicle and flew in between several ruined skyscrapers, seeing the damage caused by the constant war and attrition. Nagoya was one of the cities turned into a constant battlefield between the two corporations and their armed forces, which turned the city into a haunting ruin with no life in it, at all. Nina looked over just to check there were no anti-air emplacements or men with rocket launchers ready to shoot her down when she decided to land the helicopter in a secluded place behind the former headquarters of G-Corporation. The helicopter's blades slowly shut down and stopped rotating, the vehicle slowly set down upon the cracked concrete. Nina got lucky as the buildings around her improvised landing zone were far enough to grant the helicopter just enough space to land safely, less space and it would turn into a disaster.
Once the vehicle was set down, Nina opened the side door and hopped down from it and held her own side. She felt one of her ribs was cracked, not broken. As she flinched her fingers across the rib, she felt nothing was broken, yet. So she was somewhat relieved. After getting her things out of the helicopter along with a specialized assault rifle, she headed out into the streets... but knowing the scavengers and local survivors, she suggested that the high ground would be more preferable and headed for the nearby fire escape ladder and climbed it upwards, getting onto the roof of a nearby business store... and she immediately managed to slide herself behind one of the concrete chimneys in time, as a group of scavengers with tattered Tekken Force armor were on the neighboring rooftop, looking down on the street while looking through the loot they got.
"You've got to be joking." Nina said to herself as she carefully moved her head slightly over the corner so that she could see the scavenger group with her eyes. Luckily for her, they weren't looking in her direction, so she could see the group without being spotted though there were many rooftop appliances and things that were partially blocking her sight.
Five men, all wearing Tekken Force armor with various parts missing. Armed with old-generation rifles and pistols. She thought this could be easy to take them out, but she knew that where there was one group, others wouldn't be lingering behind too far. So she took a risk and picked up a Tekken Force comlink she had hidden in her pocket and put it on, trying to contact anyone on the frequency.
"Hakha? Radec? This is Williams. I am in Nagoya, I need an immediate retrieval, over." She said quietly into the comlink, no response. But no sign of the signal being disrupted, either. She thought the line was dead due to Kazuya's destruction of the world satellite system, but she persisted in trying again.
"This is Williams to any loyalist forces of Mishima Zaibatsu. I need to be retrieved from Nagoya ASAP, over!" She said into the small machine again, but with a little louder tone as she was starting to feel a bit irritated... and caught an attention of one of the scavengers as he seemed to look over onto the rooftop where Nina was located, picked up his rifle and walked up to the edge, jumping over and landing on the other roof.
Once his iron boots dumbed against the floor of the rooftop, Nina went silent. She knew that this meant trouble and by listening to the footsteps, she could tell the scavenger was closing onto her position. But perhaps this could be used to her advantage. As the scavenger in a medium plate armor began to scour through the chimneys and air conditioner units, Nina was sneaking behind them, seemingly going to meet the man head on... only to turn around to go onto man's right as he went to the left, stepping around the concrete block Nina was hiding behind in the first place, checking the place with his rifle up front...
"Huh?" The man wondered before life flickered in front of his eyes as Nina vaulted to wrap her arms around his neck, pulling the scavenger down onto the floor and hiding behind one of the AC units. As the man's comrades began to wonder where their friend went, Nina went to snap his neck to shut him up and be done with this. Though the neckbone crack was loud and it alerted the others of her presence.
They began to assume basic defensive positions - two with rifles stood behind on the higher grounds onto the other rooftop while the other two, armed with handguns and knives, followed their fallen comrade and hopped onto the rooftop Nina was at. She cursed in a mutter below her breath, as she did not want this to be that way, but now that her hand was forced... she went to work.
Leaving her cover with deadly velocity supporting her legs, Nina ran towards the first scavenger, sliding below his fist that he tried to connect with her face and sticking one of her knives into his knee, she quickly stood up and sidestepped around the hurt scavenger. Using the opportunity to her advantage as his ally refused to shoot, not intending to risk hurting him, the blonde used the scavenger she was standing behind as cover and took out her own handgun. Sticking the gun from below the man's arm while locking him in a chokehold, Nina aimed several shots at the other man. Shots were piercing through man's torso in an upward direction, from his stomach to this shoulder until the final bullet pierced through scavenger's neck and the force behind the firepower of Nina's weapon forced the pierced man to slide down with his back against the wall, bleeding out to his death as he couldn't stop the bleeding in time. Her shots went through internal organs and it was late to stop the internal and external bleeding.
With the second scavenger down, Nina went to finish the first one. Taking the knife out of man's knee, she did not relent and after kicking him in the other knee from behind to bring him down, only to slit his throat without a bat of an eye and then let the man go off the chokehold... only to push him off the roof and see him fall down onto the pavement.
Three down, two to go. Now, Nina quickly turned around to see the other two aiming their rifles onto her. Without any cover at hand, one of the scavengers took the shot at her... and nearly missed as the blonde vaulted forward into a roll and taking out the assault rifle she recovered from the helicopter, she quickly aimed the sights upon one of the scavengers taking cover behind the higher brick columns. While the other one took cover immediately, the fourth scavenger, seemingly thinking she can take her out, aimed to take a shot and came out of his cover, just enough to show off his head... and that was enough for the killer blonde, as she aimed her assault rifle at man's forehead and with his head in her sights, she pulled the trigger before the man could... and the bullet came right through it, tearing through skin, muscle and brain and leaving a wide hole in scavenger's forehead, with the shot's velocity arching the man away, making him step down from the platform he was standing on and fall down to his death.
"NO!" The last scavenger yelled out. Seeing all his friends taken down by Nina made him feel a mixture of panic and anger. He threw down his rifle and vaulted over between the rooftops, he charged like a raging bull against the blonde. Using basic box moves and wrestling grapples, he intended to make Nina pay for the carnage. Though she easily read his moveset and used his own strength against him. She let the assault rifle go on the floor and ducking behind a high left hook, she aimed a double palm strike, first one below his ribs and the second one aimed for the solar plexus. The man stepped back as he felt air pushed out of his lungs, but tried to strike back as soon as he regained his footing, but he was met with Nina's superior speed and reflexes as he was greeted with a staggering hand strike right into his face that sent him stagger back against the edge of the rooftop. He attempted, out of rage, to kick Nina into her leg, but she expertly dodged the kick and after striking his throat with a fingertip strike, she lashed out her leg in a fast roundhouse kick that connected with scavenger's upper body that made him roll over the edge, holding onto the rooftop with just the tips of his fingers.
Nina then stepped up onto the edge and looked down into the man's eyes. He could see there was little to no remorse left in hers, though he still tried to resist... trying to push himself up, only to be met with Nina placing her heeled shoe onto his fingers, slowly crushing them one by one...
"Please, no, spare my life-" The man pleaded for mercy, trying to save his life, but he was met with nothing but utter, cold silence as she was finished crushing his fingertips... and saw how Nina aimed a stomping kick right into his head, pushing the scavenger from the ledge and making him fall down into the alleyway... crashing into the pavement. He was not moving several seconds afterwards.
After this little skirmish, Nina stepped down and leaned onto the edge. Though the adrenaline was still going strong in her body, it wasn't enough to help her recover. She was feeling her strength waning away, and though she was determined to keep going, she knew that what Master Raven started by putting Nina to the stretch of her skills and expertise, this mistake with the scavengers could have finished if she wasn't successful. She let out a sigh... before hearing a chopper approaching. Raising her eyes, she saw a Tekken Force armored chopper coming in through the air. A wave of relief washed over her features, but that quickly changed when her eyes moved down, seeing two G-Corporation soldiers with anti-air rocket launchers set to shoot it down.
Nina did not relent. Yes, a risk came into her mind that she could have been seen and exposed, but at the same time, she cannot let anyone from G-Corporation know about her plans. Even though taking down G-Corporation soldiers might be a direct warning to Kazuya about her true allegiance, she knew that her plans must be kept a secret despite knowing all the risks connected to what she was about to do.
She quickly snatched the assault rifle from the floor and aimed its sights upon the two troopers on the lower rooftop below. The helicopter was approaching and though its armor could take a few rockets, its rotor and motor blades couldn't. She aimed the sights on the first soldiers, pulled the trigger and ended his life. As the first one fell dead onto the floor, the second one turned around and noticed Nina standing  on the higher ground... and then turned around, aiming to run towards the radio settled next to the door leading into the building below. But before he could even reach it, Nina aimed the sights upon him and ended his life in a snap of a second.
The helicopter soon came descending towards the rooftop Nina was located at. Once it was close enough, its side door panel opened, revealing a Maori-looking soldier in Tekken Force armor smiling along with two Tekken Force soldiers, one at his each side.
"Well well, thought we would leave you hanging?" The soldiers without a helmet spoke in an amused manner, immediately lowering down to reach out towards Nina with his armored hand. The blonde smirked back and took it.
"Hakha! What took you so long?" Nina asked with cynical amusement dripping off her lips, sitting into one of the helicopter seats and eyed captain Hakha right in the eye. Hakha, one of the veteran soldiers of the Tekken Force, chuckled softly as he motioned the pilot to leave.
"Complications." He said back plainly. The vehicle soon ascended in the air, leaving the ruined city of Nagoya behind...
Tekken Force Front Command Post, Near Lake Biwa, Japan
The helicopter soon landed at the Tekken Force frontal command post near lake Biwa. Nina and Hakha came out of the vehicle, heading right for the command tent. During the flight, Hakha informed Nina of the situation on the front, that the Yggdrasil Rebellion spy planes were spotted in the vicinity which caused concerns to arise within the mind of general Granger, the commander of the southern front. Nina was glad to be among her own once again as she felt a certain relief to see her troops and allies again.
Once they were in a tent, Nina could see general Arnold Granger behind a command panel, having holographic images of Nagoya, northern mountain passes and outskirts of Osaka at his disposal. A Tekken Force doctor began to take care of blonde's wounds as Hakha coughed up to gain general's attention, who seemed to be distracted by the reports. As Nina was sitting down and pulling down her jacket for the doctor to check up on her bruises and wounds, Granger raised his eyes up on Hakha.
"Sorry to disturb you, sir, but look who I found in the bombed-out ruins of Nagoya." Hakha said, pointing his thumb finger towards his commander-in-chief. Granger, who couldn't believe his own eyes at first, raised his eyebrows and let a smile come upon his weary lips slowly.
"Lady Williams?! It is so good to see you again, ma'am. I was starting to worry you might have defected to Kazuya Mishima for good." Granger added with a coldly amused tone. In return, Nina let out a slight cynical chuckle while the doctor started to take out special first aid sprays with carbon in them, spraying Nina's bruises and wounded spots.
"I am not that easy to kill, gentlemen. What's the situation?" She asked, looking over to Hakha and Granger, curious to know what was going on. It wasn't that long before she made Kazuya declare this part of Japan as 'lost to anarchy', thus allowing her lieutenants to prepare the Tekken Force in utmost secrecy. However, the look in the eyes of her allies seemed to bring concern into her features. "What? Did something happen while I was gone?"
"We lost contact with the Iron Fist and general Lente. Alongside most of our Pacific holdings." Hakha reported after a moment of utter silence. "The last transmission stated he was headed with the fleet towards Pearl Harbor. I hope nothing happened to him."
Granger nodded his head with a sigh before adding his piece of information. "And we have been keeping an eye upon Europe once the tournament has been announced. The UN seemed to have speeded up their operations and began enclosing upon Italy. With the finals of the tournament coming up soon, we suggest the UN forces might attempt to take down Kazuya Mishima."
"And behead G-Corporation in one swift stroke, just as they tried it in Tokyo... Damn it." Nina held her side as the first aid spray from the doctor began to take effect on her. She felt her muscles stopping to stir with pain and her bones, though it will take time to heal them, weren't feeling that much in pain anymore.
Both Granger and Hakha nodded their heads. Nina stood up as she felt up to it and stepped to the command desk, moving the holo-images to show the image of Rome to her friends, along with the Colosseum built in for the tournament finals. She began to zoom in on the structure, with various streets and alleyways around it.
"What's the state of the Italian front?" Nina asked, with Granger stepping around the table, shaking his head.
"Not good. The UN and G-Corporation have been leading an intelligence war over the Peninsula, as you surely know. After the action that caused several people to flee Venice towards Rome, everything went quiet... until now."
As Hakha made it to Nina's side carefully, the aged general began pointing on the sea approach towards Rome with the UN battlecruiser slowly sailing towards the port, as well as multiple armored cars spreading around the city. "I suggest the UN is already preparing something big. And we cannot be sure what it is."
Nina frowned in agreement, though her mind was racing with thoughts. If this is all part of Kazuya's plan, why would he let the UN come marching at his very doorstep? "Then we better prepare. Whatever Kazuya's and the UN's plans are, we cannot sit idly and wait for death."
Suddenly, Nina heard her phone ringing and buzzing. She pardon herself and took the jacket off the chair, picking up the phone and placing it to her ear. She placed a finger on her lips while facing everyone in the room, urging them to silence.
"Williams." She said into the phone.
"Miss Williams, this is Shimada of the King of Iron Fist tournament committee. Kazuya Mishima has requested your presence at the tournament finals in Rome!" The man said with clear panic and fear in his tone.
Nina sighed. She did not know that, as Kazuya never asked her to be present there. Nor that he ever wanted her to be around. Why now?
"Did he say why?" She asked coldly.
The blonde asked the man, though Shimada seemed to be losing his nerves out of fear. "No, he hasn't. But if I may be so bold... I wouldn't make him wait."
"Understood. I'll head for Italy immediately." She said back to Shimada and put the phone away, ending the call. She then turned back to Hakha and Granger as the doctor bowed down and made his leave from the tent.
"What was it?" Hakha asked, being met with a cold stern glare from his superior.
"Kazuya wants me in Rome to observe the tournament finals. For what reason, I do not know."
Granger furrowed his brows, rubbing the forehead with his fingers. "That we cannot risk. With the UN encircling the whole city and you being right at his side, whatever he has planned-"
"I will be alright, general." Nina intended to calm Granger down. "Our utmost priority should be to prepare for the final push in secret. Granger, you will be in charge of our Japanese operations while I am away. Hakha will be at your disposal with the 101st. If the worst is about to be unleashed in Rome... I want the Black Guard to be there in case I need a quick way out."
Both men nodded her head. "Understood." Hakha said in a firm tone.
"As you wish, madame." Granger said back, though it was clear he thought this was already a bad idea.
"Alright." Nina said back with measure in her tone. "I am going to head towards the airport in Kyoto to get me the fastest route to Rome. Can you let Kyoto know I am on my way there?"
"They will know, madame. I shall accompany you to the airport." Hakha said back, escoring Nina out of the tent towards the helipad. Granger then said back into his seat, sighing. He wished he could get in contact with his friend, James Solomon, who was in charge of space station Yamamoto. Ever since they lost contact with it, he started to feel lost...
Once Williams and Hakha got into the helicopter that was meant to get them to Kyoto, Nina's mind focused in silence upon the newly-gained information. Why would Kazuya want her in Rome, and why didn't he tell her about it in advance? Was it a part of his plan, or wasn't he trusting her enough for that? She only wondered why Kazuya invited her to Rome like that. She put on her jacket back and reaffirmed it as the helicopter took off towards the unofficial capital of Mishima Zaibatsu…

ROTTMNT LEO X MY OC - CHAPTER 1 : THE MEETING
The story takes place after Krang's defeat. All character are adults.
Warning : harsh talk ; light mention of alcoholism ; Probably english errors (sorry for that !) And yes, Disney references... Will you notice it ? :-)
Leonardo was on duty this night.
He losed a bet and was on charge to get tonight's diner : pizzas for everyone. Of course delivery was out of question, too much easy ! Michelangelo taked orders and Leonardo has to pick pizzas up at the end of the town !
Leonardo is muttering his frustration, asking himself if he should eat pizza on the way back.
Suddenly he hears voices under his feet.
A girl is running, followed by three angry big guys, promising to make her pay for her actions when they'll get her.
Leonardo follows them.
The girl is quickly blocked in a dead end. Her pursuers are coming to her, warming their fists up, a sadic smile on their face :
“You will regret to make us run, you little pest.”
“When I see you, fatties, I could say she does you a favor.” They hear above their heads.
Leonardo appears like a superheros between the three guys and the girl.
“Who are you ? Her bodyguard ?” Laugh one of the guys.
The others are guffawing. Leonardo is about to retort when a wine bottle aims for the guy's head !
“Don't insult me. I can protect myself very well.”
The girl gets out of the darkness, comes under the street lamp's light.
Leonardo's eyes are suddenly shining : what a beautiful creature !
Her face is strong and elegant, deep black eyes like a night sky, a fleshy mouth and a sweet caramel skin. Her long hairs mixe coal and ochre. Her long legs, her round hips and her hourglass figure make her look like a panther.
“Oh boy…” Breathes out the turtle, his heart making a concert.
But the bottle's victim isn't as charmed as him. The three guys are ready to fight, Leonardo too. He wants to shine in front of the beautiful girl !
She doesn't give him the time to do something and already starts the fight ! Leonardo looks at her, filled with admiration : she is supple and lively as she was dodging their attacks.
One rude hit knocks her to the trash bags. Leonardo comes to her :
“So… I'm sorry to disturb you, miss, but are you a damsel in distress ?”
“I'm a damsel !…” Starts the girl.
She hits a first guy on the stomach with her feet.
“I'm in distress !…”
She takes the metallic cover of the trashbox next to her and sends it to the two others guys, killing two birds with one stone. She stands up, smiling as she puts her hairs behind her ear :
“And I can handle this.”
Leonardo feels something go down the wrong way. This style, this figure, this smile ! He never meets someone like her.
A giant piece of rage stands up again behind the girl ! Leonardo jumps and hits his opponent to the head. The giant collapses in a lound sound.
The blue turtle strikes a flattering pose :
“I know, you can handle it, I was just protecting myself.”
He heards a cute chuckle from the girl. So now that the three bullies are defeated and the fight ended, the girl comes up to Leonardo to look at him more intensely :
“How should I call my pretty charming knight ?”
Leonardo is surprised by this suddenly move. He glups before answers with a shaking voice :
“L-Leonardo. My name is Leonardo.”
She's holding out her hand to him :
“Nice to meet you. I'm Robin.”
Leonardo hesitates to take this hand. His could be a little… strange for a human.
Taking advantage to the shadows, he decides to give his hand.
Then the girl pulls him closer and puts a kiss on his nose !
Leonardo becomes sticker than a piece of wood.
She's giving him a wink and jumping to the ladder above her, swaying and flewing over the pile of brutes.
Now the gracious figure is gone, letting Leonardo as red as a traffic lights, the blue turtle is touching his nose and making an silly smile. Beatting up a bunch of delinquants, helping a pretty girl, receiving a kiss as reward : what a sweet night…
He soon remembers his duty :
“All right, I have to get the pizzas now.”
He is about to go when he feels that something's missing.
In his bag.
The wallet is missing.
The wallet full of money for pizzas.
Leonardo is convinced that he took it with him before leaving the sewers. Maybe it falls on the floor during the fight ? The turtle is looking for it with a little light of hope.
Nothing.
Panic at its hightest level :
“Holy crap ! Daddy is going to kill me !”
He heards some sniggerings behind him. The three guys are awake. Leonardo is angry, he takes his swore :
“All right, clowns ! Give my wallet back and everybody can go home safetly.”
“You really don't understand what happened, right, idiot ?” Asks a first one.
“The girl has got your money.” Keeps up a second one.
“Stop the craps !” Yells Leonardo “Like an innocent, beautiful woman like her could be a thief !”
“Why do you think we were running after her ? She takes our money too ! We just wanted to take it back.”
“She made fun of you, boy. She took advantage of your naivety to trap you.”
Leonardo recalls the embrace. The kiss. This hand that he felt against his back without paying attention. Yes, she could have stolen the wallet at this moment.
His brain is explosing : he was taken in like a complete beginner !
Now he expects the worst : how will he explain this whole situation to his family ? Sure that all of them will make fun of him during a minimum of one week.
And that's what happen.
Besides laughing at him for his naivety, souper was already served : a home delivery has been programmed since the beginning !
Leonardo is surprised that everyone believes his story, especially the fact that he fell into a pretty girl's trap.
“That's just like Leo !” Smiles Raphael before eating a slice of pizza.
“You don't seem to realise, guys !” Says Leonardo as he is taking place on table “She was so cool, a real beauty ! And her eyes, she's got some eyes ! Like she hypnotised me !”
“Yes, of course.” Says Donatello with a micheavelous smile “Did you ask her if she's related to Hypno, by coincidence ?”
“Hey, Leo !” Calls Michelangelo, sit next to his brother, fluttering his eyelashes like crazy “Will you give me your pizza's share, pleaaaaase~ ?”
Leonardo is no amused, contrary to the rest of the family. Splinter licks his fingers and asks him :
“More seriously, Blue : did this girl see your face ?”
“What ? Non, I don't think so. Anyway she didn't react.”
“I can confirm.” Says Donatello “Seeing Leo's face would make her running away, not kissing him.”
“Hey ! I'm a living piece of art ! Everybody would love to kiss me !” Says the offended.
“Personaly, there is a lot of things called art that don't make me feel like kissing them.” Confesses Raphael.
“You can all laugh, but she called me “her pretty charming knight” all the same ! I'm sure she fell of me !”
The others don't stop to laugh. Raphael insists :
“Otherwise, Leo, did your girlfriend have a name ?”
“Yes, her name is Robin.”
Leonardo suspects a stupid reaction from his brothers. They don't waste time, suddenly very inspired :
“Robin ?” Starts Michelangelo “Like “Batman and Robin” ?”
“Like “Robin Hood” ?” Outdoes Donatello.
“Robin like Robin !” Yells Leonardo “Stop making fun of her name, you morons !”
Suddenly Splinter jumps off his chair :
“Blue ! You have to find my wallet !”
Leonardo doesn't understand why his father is overcome by panic, making him angrier :
“You MUST find it ! The wallet… Inside… It's a matter of like and death !”
In one of the less salubrious parts of New York, Robin the thief comes back home. She opens a ruin's door to go in a world where the only kind of living is a television. In front of the aggressive light, an old man is flopping into an armchair, beer in hand.
“Where have you been ?” He asks.
“Outside.” Answers Robin.
“Don't think I'm stupid, I know you were outside.”
“So why do you ask ?”
The man throws his beer against the wall and gets up. He's walking to her, his steps are loud and terrible. Robin looks down and doesn't move. She smells his bad breath when he speaks :
“I'm not in the mood. Where is my money ?”
Robin goes through her pockets and gives him a little wad of dollars.
“That's all you get ?” Asks the man.
“Two hundred and fivety dollars. It's more than you need to refill your provision of beer.”
He takes the money, slapping her hand.
“Get out of here.” He mumbles, counting the notes again.
While she's climbing up the stairs, the man asks if she had an unpleasant encounter near the house.
Robin smiles secretly. When he said “unpleasant encounter”, he's talking about policeman, a creditor or a busybody. Hidded in this old hole, he doesn't have to fear something like that.
“No, dad. I just met a very charming mutant turtle.”
“Fucking shut up if you're only talking about shit !”
The walls shaked because of this yell. Not Robin. She knows how to handle this.
In her room, she takes a wallet off her jacket. Splinter's wallet.
After her escape, she hidded to a coffee shop and counted her treasure. The three big guys had a lot of bill, as she likes it.
When she opened Splinter's wallet, she found some sales receipts and fidelity cards but no money.
Under this mass of useless papers, she saw a picture. Family picture with everyone, Splinter, Raphaël, Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo and April, with big smiles.
Firstly, when she saw the four turtles and the rat, she throught it was a joke, a lame montage or some nerds with wierd costumes.
But she does remind some details of her meeting with Leonardo : his strange hand in the shadows, his face's color, his rough skin when she touched him.
Gold mine ? Yes, maybe this picture, presented to the good person, could make her rich.
But Robin didn't really want to do this. Not now.
She wanted to enjoy their smiles a little more. They're inspiring her a sample of happiness she can't find nowhere.
Contrary to the others, this one wallet wasn't throwing in trashbox. Robin kept it, asking herself how she could return it to her pretty charming knight.
After all, he did save her in this halley.

Tw: homophobic language, physical abuse
-
Billy crushed the butt of his cigarette under his sneaker, not missing a moment to pull the crumpled pack out of his back pocket.
He cursed under his breath when he found it empty and tossed it into the street.
Someone would probably clean it up.
He had ended up in the rich part of town. The cul-de-sac part of this shithole. Houses too big for the families that live there. Expensive cars that sit in the driveway like trophies.
It was quiet in this part of town. The houses had thick enough walls that conversation couldn’t easily be heard through.
Which is why it was so startling to round the corner and hear the unmistakeable sound of a plate shatter.
Billy was nothing if not nosey, and he squinted through the dusk.
It was easy to see the family. Three people making a scene through the large window set into their formal dining room. The light spilling out over the cropped lawn that was bigger than the lot Billy’s house was built on.
He stared at the scene.
Steve Harrington.
Looking more terrified than he had three months ago when Billy lost control all over his face.
Someone that was unmistakably his father held him by the front of his shirt, yelling right into Steve’s face.
Billy couldn’t make out what he was saying, but Steve’s eyes were wide and shining like they were going to spill over at any moment.
Billy willed him not to cry. It’ll only make it worse if he cries. Billy knows.
Steve’s mother was standing across the table, her arms crossed over her stomach, tears shining on her cheeks.
But she did nothing to stop what was happening.
Billy watched Steve’s dad wind up, and his face cracked in sympathy when the slap force Steve’s head to the side.
And then his dad surged forward, Steve stumbling out of sight.
Until just his mother was left framed by the window. She was shaking.
And then the front door slammed open with a force that made Billy jump.
Steve’s was, quite literally, thrown out of his house.
He stumbled down the stairs, skidding on his left side down the concrete walkway, just barely catching himself before his head cracked against the hard ground.
“I better never see your pansy ass here ever again!”
“Dad!” Steve’s voice broke as the door slammed, and Billy watched Steve’s shoulders shake with his sobs.
Billy’s feet moved without thought, and he found himself crouching at Steve’s side.
“C’mon, Harrington. Let’s get you outta here.”
It was a mark of how devastated Steve was that he didn’t argue. His sobs were silent as Billy hefted him to his feet and herded him beyond the Harrington property.
They made it two blocks before Steve’s legs gave way and he collapsed to the ground.
Billy let him. He followed him to the dirty ground, keeping one arm slung over his shoulders.
He let Steve cry until the sun had gone down, the darkness giving relief to the red spot on Steve’s left cheek.
“Why are you being nice?” Steve’s voice was thick, his face buried in his knees.
“Looks like you had enough mean today.”
Steve didn’t say anything for a moment.
“He found out.” Billy didn’t push for Steve to say more. He thinks he knows. “He found out that I like guys.”
“Fuck, I’m sorry.” He wasn’t sure if he was apologizing for Steve’s dad finding out, or for being queer in the first place.
Steve slumped over, burying his face in Billy’s shoulder. Billy wrapped both arms around Steve, scoring them ask close together as he could on the sidewalk.
“I’m so sorry, Stevie.”
“I don’t know what to do. I don’t know where to go.” Steve’s voice was wavering, and Billy felt a few more tears soak into the collar of his t-shirt.
“My dad would do the same shit if I brought you over. Nearly killed me when he caught me sucking dick. Brought me here instead.”
“I’m sorry,” came the muffled reply.
Billy shrugged.
“I’ll help you sneak back in if there’s shit you need. Money. Clothes.”
“My room’s on the second floor.”
“And there’s this newfangled invention called a ladder. Ever heard of it?”
Steve huffed a laugh through his nose. Pulling his head back to wipe clumsily at his wet face.
“Thank you. For this. It’s be a lot worse if I was by myself.”
“I’m no stranger to this shit, Stevie. I’ll help you where I can.”
Steve buried his face back in Billy’s shoulder.
“Just gimme a second. I just need to think.”
Billy gave him all the time he needed to sit quietly, night settling in around them.

“Y/N!” Foolish yelled, as he jumped down from the mansion he was building, and Y/N looked up as he fell, “Oh, hello Foolish.” She greeted politely, “What are you doing in snowchester?” Foolish asked, and Y/N looked around and pointed down towards the white fox that was hiding behind her leg, “I found this little guy and figured I’d give him to Tubbo.” She explained, and Foolish grinned and nodded, “Well it’s good seeing you, I haven’t seen you in a while, what have you been up to?” He asked her curiously, and Y/N reached down picking up the white furred creature, “I’ve been visiting Dream a lot, and trying to help him find a way out.” She said petting the fox on it’s head, and Foolish looked at her shocked. “You’re trying to find a way for Dream to escape?” He asked, and Y/N nodded her head, “Are you crazy?!” He asked grabbing her shoulders, and Y/N winced. “I’ve talked to him, he’s been getting better.” Y/N said in a small voice, and Foolish sighed, letting her go, “Just know what you’re getting yourself into.” He warned, before he started scaffolding his way back up to the mansion.
Shaking her head, Y/N kept the fox in her arms as she walked to the small cabin that Tubbo was living in. Knocking on the door, she was greeted with a chest, sighing she slowly looked up and greeted Ranboo with a gentle smile, “Hello Ranboo, I have brought Tubbo a little present.” She said, raising the fox up a bit, and Ranboo hunched over a bit to get a clear view of the small animal, “He’s upstairs with Michael, come with me.” He said, as he hunched over dragging his hand along the ceiling so he wouldn’t hit his head. Y/N followed in behind, watching as Ranboo’s tail swayed back and forth with every step he took. She let out a small ‘umph’ when she hit into Ranboo as he stopped, “Okay, up here.” He said, as he just reached up pulling himself up. Y/N on the other hand, moved the fox under one arm, and climbed the ladder with one hand as safely as she could. Making it up, she closed the door behind her so Michael wouldn’t get out.
“Y/N!” A happy voice chirped as she heard little thumps running towards her. Grinning, she looked down at the smaller boy, his horns portraying past his fluffy hair, “Hi Tubbo! I brought a present.” She said, as Tubbo backed away, his hooves padding against the floor as Michael ran up looking at the adults in curiosity. “Whoa.” Tubbo said amazed, “It’s a baby?” He asked, looking at the small creature under her arm, “Yeah, I found it without its parents so I thought I’d bring it to you.” She explained, as Tubbo gently took the small fox from her. “Aw Ranboo look at it!” Tubbo exclaimed, and Ranboo chuckled, as he picked Michael up with his tail, “What are you going to name it?” Y/N asked Tubbo, as she kept her attention on Michael and Ranboo. “Well, I will need to find out its gender, but I will probably name it something gender neutral.” He said, as he cooed at the small animal.
“Well I’ll be heading off, I have to go visit someone.” She said, waving goodbye, “Come back soon!” Tubbo said sweetly, while Ranboo nodded in agreement. “Bye guys! Bye Michael!” Y/N said, and Michael looked over as he heard his name before he waved back shyly. Crawling down the ladder was much easier this time, as she wasn’t holding an animal in her arms, “Oh! Y/N! One more thing!” Tubbo yelled sticking his head out of the door, “Could you give this to Foolish? I was meant to give it to him but I forgot.” He said, handing her some gold blocks. “Oh, sure!” She said, putting them away, “Well bye now!” Tubbo said, before closing the door again. Softly laughing Y/N walked out of the small home, and began her journey back to the mansion that Foolish was working on. Looking up, she saw Foolish was no where in sight, growing confused she opened the door and walked inside. She gawked at the sight of the beautiful interior.
“Y/N?” A voice from behind her spoke, and Y/N yelped jumping, “Oh my god.” She said, slapping Foolish’s chest, “Where did you come from?” She said, attempting to calm her heart rate that picked up from the jump scare. “Oh, I was up there.” He said, pointing up towards the windows, “And you just jumped? Without water?” She asked, and Foolish nervously chuckled, “Maybe?” He said, and Y/N scoffed pointing a finger at him. “That is dangerous, you know how it feels when you have to respawn.” She scolded and Foolish looked down, “I know, it’s not the best feeling in the world.” He admitted, “So what did you need?” He asked trying to change the subject so he wouldn’t get scolded anymore. “Right! Tubbo said to give this to you.” She said handing him 5 gold blocks, “I was just about to go ask him about this.” Foolish said, taking the gold blocks from her gracefully. “So where are you headed to now?” He asked her, as the two walked out of the mansion. “I’m on my way to go pay Dream a visit.” She said, and Foolish looked at her, “Can I tag along?” He asked, and Y/N eyed him suspiciously, before slowly nodding.
“I suppose you can, I will have to convince Sam to let us both in there since he is limiting peoples visiting hours since the Red Banquet is coming up and he doesn’t want word to get to Dream.” She said, as the two walked, “Makes sense.” Foolish nodded, as he sighed readjusting his golden mask on his face, “Foolish?” Y/N spoke up, “Yeah?” He asked, “May I know why you wear that mask? I know Dream also wears one, but yours is just so different.” She said looking at him with peaked curiosity. Foolish hesitated about answering before he sighed, “Nobody’s really asked that before but I guess I can trust you.” He said, and she looked at him as he grabbed her wrist pulling her towards his body. “Close your eyes.” He whispered, and she slowly closed her eyes before she felt her entire body run cold, “Open.” He said, and she looked around confused as she was now in front of the prison. “What?” She asked and Foolish sighed, “The reason I wear this mask is because I have to.” He said, and Y/N looked over at him.
“If this mask ever comes off, it releases something in me that I do not want to be released, but I can’t take it off. Nobody can, from what I have seen.” He explained, and Y/N listened closely, “People have tried, friends, family, even myself but it won’t come off.” He said looking down, placing his hand on the musk and tugging but the mask only readjusted on his face. “I know what happens when it comes off, but it’s never happened.” He mumbled, and Y/N looked at him, “How do you know what happens?” She asked, “Because I have seen it happen before.” He said, looking up, his one eye visible now that the mask was readjusted. “You have? Where?” She asked, and Foolish looked away, “With Dream, and you.” He said, and Y/N’s eyes widened. “The day I accidentally took his mask off? Is that why only I could truly see what he looked like?” She asked him, and Foolish just nodded, “Only the person’s true love can see what they truly look like. To everyone else, it’s just a nonexistent hole for a face.” He mumbled, remembering everyones reactions when Dream’s mask fell.
“How come I can see your face right now?” Y/N said, reaching up and cupping his exposed cheek. Foolish looked at her and chuckled, “That’s because I am not what Dream is, he’s only half. He’s a demi god, which means he can’t show his face at all. While with me, I am a god and can show my face. But it will look different to everyone else. This is just a facade, this isn’t my actual face.” He said, moving away from her touch, “There, now you know.” He said before turning his attention to the prison, “Shall we?” he asked changing the subjects, “Yeah..” She mumbled, walking into the prison, “Sam! It’s me I brought Foolish.” Y/N said, and Sam instructed them to walk through the portal. Y/N always hated going through the portal, it always made her feel sick, and she didn’t like the excruciating pain that shot through her head each time she had to do it. Walking through, Y/N winced at the pain, before she stumbled out flipping Sam off who only laughed as it became a daily thing of her just flipping him off. “Good day Foolish.” Sam greeted, and Foolish nodded to him, “Hello Sam.” He replied, “Please put everything you have in the chests.” He ordered, and Y/N was already doing so.
Foolish side-eyed Sam before doing so, and he was soon instructed to sign multiple things. Once he was done, the two were led to the prison cell, “Okay, once this lava-” Sam was cut off by Y/N who placed her hand on her friend’s mouth, “Please, I have heard this every day for a month straight.” She pleaded, and Sam put his hands up in defense mumbling against her hand, “Just doing my job.” Pulling her hand away, she looked and saw that the lava was about done, and her friend came into view. Grabbing Foolish’s forearm, she guided him so he would not miss or fall off as they were being lead to the cell. “You’ve brought a guest I see.” Dream’s voice said, as they reached the cell and the lava around them started to enclose them in the cell together. “Yup.” Y/N said popping the ‘p’ as the blocker let down, and she was soon engulfed in a tight hug. “I saw you yesterday, calm down.” She giggled, returning the hug. Hearing a throat being cleared, the two separated reluctantly. “Hello Dream.” Foolish greeted, and Dream looked at him, “Foolish.” He nodded before going over and leaned against the wall.
“So tell me, what brought your ass here?” He spat, and Y/N looked between the two, as Foolish slowly approached Dream, “It seems to me that you’ve been manipulating my Y/N to help you escape.” He said, and Dream scoffed, “Your Y/N? First she isn’t some toy to be owned.” Dream reasoned, “Secondly, I am not manipulating her at all.” He said crossing his arms, and Foolish glared, “I don’t believe that one bit.” He said, “I don’t like the little game you’re playing with someone that I love.” Foolish said, trapping Dream between his arms, and Dream cocked his head to the side. “Someone you love? You saw that she took my mask off, you know that she loves me. But your little heart can’t accept that can it?” Dream mused, and Foolish growled, “Shut the hell up.” He grumbled, making a fist with his left hand and hitting the wall beside Dream’s head. Y/N watched the two, too scared to interject now that she found out they are stronger than they look. “It’s true.” Dream hummed out, and Foolish scoffed, “You and your stupid green eyes piss me off so much.” He said, and everyone in the room froze.
“You saw what he looked like?” Y/N asked, and Foolish froze, not being able to look away from Dream who was also dumbfounded. “Do you love Dream?” Y/N asked slowly approaching the two, and Foolish looked down as Dream looked at him. “Y/N.” Dream said, and Y/N moved her attention to Dream, “Pull his mask off.” He ordered, and Y/N looked at Dream wide eyed, “What? No!” She said, and Foolish pushed off the wall before he grabbed Y/N by her wrist. “Do it.” He said, and Y/N looked up at him shocked, “Foolish what?” She said, and Dream repeated his order, “Pull it off.” Looking between the two, Y/N wrapped her fingers around the golden mask, before she softly tugged at it. Everyone in the room held their breath as the mask seemed to fall in slow motion. Y/N watched as the mask fell to the ground with a thud, before she slowly looked up, and she was greeted with lime green orbs looking at her. Looking closer, she saw that Foolish was now golden like the mask, but the only difference was his eyes. They were a bright green, and she found herself staring into them.
“Your eyes are beautiful.” Y/N whispered, reaching up and cupped his face with her hands. “You said something was going to be released, what?” She asked him, searching his face for any sign. Before he could answer there was a green light that emitted from him, and Y/N covered her eyes, as she was pulled away by a pair of arms that wrapped around her torso pulling her towards them. “He’s getting his powers, don’t worry it’s safe.” Dream whispered in her ear reassuringly, and Y/N slowly nodded before it grew dim once the light was gone. “Uh..” Foolish said quickly looking away from Y/N, and she grew confused before she looked up at Foolish, and quickly looked away a blush engulfed her cheeks. Dream quickly let go, and looked away, as the three were now bare. “Where did our clothes go dip shit?” Dream asked, and Foolish rolled his eyes, “I don’t know why don’t you ask them?” He sarcastically replied, making sure not to look at Y/N.
“Your stupid blast or whatever, made them vanish.” Dream scoffed, and he covered himself, “Good going, it’s with a girl too.” He added, and Y/N just blinked before she blushed deeply covering herself. “Could we ask Sam for more clothes?” Y/N asked, keeping her sight on the ground, “We could.” Foolish said, and Y/N froze when she felt someones hand grab her chin, making her look up. “Or we could make this worth something.” He whispered, and Y/N shivered, looking at Foolish. “Don’t seduce the poor girl.” Dream said, rolling his eyes and Y/N turned to look at Dream seeing his chiseled chest. “Maybe we should.” She said cockily, wanting to see his reaction. Dream, who was looking away from the two, whipped his head around quickly to give her a shocked look. “You’re joking, right?” He asked, chuckling before looking between the two and Y/N shook her head, “I am not joking.” She said boldly, and Dream raised an eyebrow from behind his mask. “Don’t start something you won’t be able to finish.” He warned, and Y/N walked up to him placing a hand on his chest.
“But I’ve already started.” She whispered, reaching up unclasping his mask. Dream groaned, and picked her up, “Wish Sam would’ve added a damn bed.” He complained, as he held Y/N, before he sat her on the podium after he knocked the book off. “We’re gonna finish what you started.” Foolish mumbled, as he watched Dream explore Y/N’s bare body with his hands. Y/N reacted in many ways to his touch, she’d shiver, whimper, and even whine. “Please I need more.” She begged, and Dream picked her up again, “You’re not ready yet.” He told her, as he sat down on the ground, propping himself up on the obsidian wall behind him. Placing her on his thigh, he looked at her, “This may feel weird, as my leg is bare.” He told her, and Y/N nodded her head as Foolish sat beside of them, wrapping his hand around her neck. Y/N let him guide her head back, as he passionately kissed her lips, as Dream started to guide her hips against his thigh. Y/N gasped into the kiss, and Foolish took this as a chance to quickly insert his tongue into her mouth.
Exploring her mouth as her moans were drowned out from the kiss, Dream kept her at an even pace letting her adjust to the feeling. When Foolish pulled away a string of saliva kept them connected, before she reached forward gripping onto Dream’s shoulders tightly as he sped up his pace. Y/N moaned out, and Foolish tightened his grip around her throat, which made Y/N have strained moans. “You sound so beautiful.” Foolish complimented, and Y/N blushed deeply as she felt herself growing close. “You’re not a virgin are you?” Dream asked, as he stilled his movements, and Y/N shook her head the best she could from Foolish’s grip around her neck. “Who took it?” Dream growled out, and Y/N whined, as Foolish once more tightened his grip, “It was about 7 months ago, me and Schlatt got drunk.” She whispered out and Foolish scoffed, throwing her to the side.
“We will fuck you way better than he ever did.” Dream said, standing up and Foolish picked Y/N up slamming her against the wall. “This will hurt.” He warned her, as he spat on his hand lubing himself up, and slowly slid into her. Y/N groaned, leaning her head back onto his shoulder, as she adjusted to his size. “Fuck.” Foolish muttered, wrapping his hand back around her neck as he slowly started thrusting up into her. “Tell me how you feel.” Dream said, as he watched the two, “I feel so good.” Y/N moaned out, and Foolish took this as a signal to speed up. Pounding up into her, Y/N cried out in pleasure, as she felt herself growing close. “I’m so close!” She yelled out, and Foolish grunted before whispering in her ear, “Cum.” Hearing him say that she quickly came, and she gasped as her entire body was engulfed with pleasure. Thrusting a couple more times, Foolish came deep inside of her.
Pulling out, Y/N collapsed to the floor, as Foolish slowed her fall. “You’ve got one more round to go.” Dream said, as he picked her up off the floor, and made her bend over the podium a bit. Slapping her ass, she jumped before she moaned out as Dream slammed into her without a warning. “God you feel amazing.” Dream groaned out, as he started thrusting into her roughly. Dream was a bit bigger than Foolish, but she didn’t care as she was a moaning mess with both of their cocks. “Please-” She begged, feeling sensitive from her first orgasm. Dream ignored her plea, as he rammed into her with no remorse, and Y/N gripped the podium tightly, her knuckles going white. “I am going to cum so deep inside of you.” Dream growled out, and Foolish smirked as he watched the scene. Y/N let out a scream of pleasure as her second orgasm hit her, and her legs started to shake. Gripping her hips tightly, purposely leaving bruises, Dream came inside of her before he pulled out.
Holding her up, he looked over at Foolish, “Get Sam, and tell him to bring clothes and a wet rag.” Dream ordered, and Foolish he had calmed down began to yell for Sam. Dream hid Y/N’s body from Sam’s view as the lava fell. “Could you guys be a little less loud next time?” Sam asked, a look of disgust on his face. The two men chuckled, as clothes were thrown over to them, and a wet rag. “No promises.” Dream said, shooting Sam a wink and he only got the middle finger in response. Cleaning Y/N up, the other two soon cleaned themself as they all got dressed. “Maybe I will help you escape.” Foolish said, as he patted Dream on the shoulder. “Shut up.” He rolled his eyes, as he picked up his mask putting it back on his face, as Foolish did the same. “Let’s go Y/N.” He said, and the two walked out, “Don’t have any fun without me!” Dream yelled to them, and they only laughed as the lava began to cover his cell once more.

Cassandra x Maiden----Anonymity Ch.2
Chapter 1.
Tumblr media
From a molten orb in the sky, the sun descends to nothingness and gives way to the pale light of the moon.
Another day has come to its end. And somehow, you’re still alive.
Still alive and still cleaning the massive library of castle Dimitrescu. It took you the entire evening, but you’re finally almost done. Only a couple more shelves to go and you can get some much-needed rest.
The cloth in your hand doesn’t slow for even a second as it rubs over every mahogany inch within your reach. You keep your eyes on the rows upon rows of ancient books and their decorated spines, to forget exactly how high up you currently stand.
You don’t think you could breathe normally if you look down. No, your eyes refuse to go that route…
That is, until something small and black dances in out the corner of your vision. An insect, barely the size of your pinky nail, decides this is a good time to distract you. It is not. You ignore the creature to the best of your ability, but its insistent buzzing around your head, closer to your ear every time, eventually drives you to madness.
You swat it off. Unsuccessfully.
The ladder gives a tiny creak in protest that sends your heart into overdrive. Fuck you, you think. This stupid fly isn’t worth the danger.
But then…
A painful sting comes at the crook of your neck, like a curved needle driven harshly into your flesh. It is more of a slash than a bite; your eyes immediately prickle with unshed tears, your back tenses so hard you nearly pull a muscle right there. Instinctively, you jerk and slap the creature off of you.
The ladder wobbles from the sudden movement.
Your fall becomes a certainty.
What a messed-up sense of humor the universe has. In a house full of killers, you muse, you’ll die from a cracked skull because of a bloody fly. It’s so pathetic it is almost laughable.
A rush of air whooshes behind you, followed by the sound of a thousand tiny wings batting. By the time you realize what just transpired, a familiar body crashes into your back, half pinning you against the bookshelves and half supporting you on the now steady ladder.
Of course. Cassandra.
You know it’s her because you recognize her spicy perfume and subtle hint of bath salts underneath its fragrance. You don’t want to, but it is a scent that has lingered in your senses longer than you’d like. Longer than makes sense, considering you haven’t seen her in nearly three whole weeks.
You don’t know if you should be grateful for her saving you, since she’s also the reason you damn near fell to your death.
How did you not think it was one of the daughters messing with you, you wonder, when you saw the odd fly? Then again, you didnt think they were capable of remote controlling just one and so precisely.
“Hello again, Miss Delicious.” she purrs by your ear. “Miss me?”
You somehow fight off the shiver that threatens to roll down your spine. She’s far too close to your neck, while blood steadily oozes, warm and thick, out of the wound there. What’s worse is your hands are glued to the sides of the wooden ladder from the shock, with no hope of releasing it anytime soon. You can’t push her away. Not that it would have made any real difference, considering her strength. But the thought you just can’t makes the situation ten times worse.
You are helpless. You are prey.
Cassandra’s breath ghosts over your skin. The fabric of her hood tickles your ear as she leans in. She’ll lick the blood away, you think. You brace yourself for it. Just a quick brush of tongue –hopefully— and that will be it.
You are not so lucky.
As if this isn’t already too much, Cassandra adds her tongue into the mix. She licks you like you’re her ice-cream, getting a small taste at first, then pressing into the wound when it doesn’t supply enough blood to satisfy her. Your lips part soundlessly; you don’t want to know if the sound that would have escaped them is a cry or a moan.
Instead, you feel soft lips close around the injury, trapping the precious beading crimson there. A languid suck comes that seems to last forever.
Your stomach free-falls with how it drops. Your arms tremble for reasons beyond the strain you’ve put on them.
It—hurts.
It hurts, but. The proximity, how she keeps her mouth on you and the way she’s starting to almost grind into your backside are so unbearably erotic the pain only heightens sensation. You are holding your breath, at this point, because you don’t know what is happening, if you like it, if you hate it –but oh God what is she doing with her tongue— if she’s killing you or having sex with your neck.
“Cassaaandraaa!”
Lady Dimitrescu’s voice echoes throughout dark corridors to reach your ears. The sound is faint to you but it must be blaring for the daughter because she jumps, startled.
It is time for dinner and she’s late. the small part of your brain that still functions and hasn’t yet been reduced to a hormonal mess is quick to point out.
Cassandra lets out a shaky breath –growl?— past her teeth that feels way more frustrated than it sounds. For a second, you think she’s leaning back towards your ear as if to whisper a secret…
But then, the solidity of her form breaks into hundreds of buzzing insects. She is gone the next instant past the open doors as though a ghost, an apparition never truly there in the first place.
You stand on shaky legs, confused on all levels and desperately trying to catch your breath. You want to just get down from this fucking ladder and take a shower, then dress your injury and finally go to sleep. You want to forget whatever the hell this was and you do not want to see her unreasonably attractive face in your dreams.
Your legs don’t feel like they can adequately support you, but you clench your jaw and fight your way down regardless.
The long route is taken to the maids’ rooms, just to avoid going anywhere near the Dimitrescu family. Once you’re safely in your bedchambers, you shrug off your clothes and head straight for the showers.
The cool water does wonders for your body after the hours of work you’ve endured. Being in its embrace for a while, you think you’ve washed the day completely off of you. Yet as soon as you brace your arms on the wall, it’s like you’re trapped one hour back in time. Suspended mid-air with her behind you, her mouth perfectly fitted to the junction of your neck.
The faucet nearly breaks with the force you put into shutting it. This accursed family has already taken your life under their control. They cannot be allowed to take your thoughts, as well.
It takes a long time for your shivers to die down under the heavy covers of your bed. When you’re finally warm enough, exhaustion takes over. Your eyes droop shut and you fall into the world of dreams. Yet even there, it seems, there is no escape. No sanctuary to be found.
You are chased down corridors filled with gore, while insects nibble at your arms and back. Creatures with way too many rows of teeth groan and hiss and gain in on you. You don’t want to die. You don’t want to die—
Somewhere in the depths of your nightmare, you feel the bed beside you dip. A cold touch that you later tell yourself is just a leftover from the nightmare brushes over the fresh cut that’s reopened from you straining your throat.
When your eyes snap open in the darkness of your room, however…
You are all alone.

Meanwhile somewhere in castle Dimitrescu…
Cassandra steps out of the shadows to join her two sisters, seated opposite from each other on the luxurious couch and playing Snakes and Ladders. Of course, they didn’t have the decency to wait for her. Their mother is off to the side, smoking at the balcony.
Three sets of eyes briefly fall on the middle daughter and she doesn’t like it one bit. Daniela’s subtly heterochrome gaze lingers, her mouth twists into the shit-eating grin that signals only trouble and Cassandra knows to wrap her fingers –lightning-fast—around her neck before she can call her out for being late. Some things are just better left unsaid.
Except, Bela looks up at her under her hood and gives a little smirk. Cassandra can only really choke one of them. Don’t say anything stupid. She warns with her eyes.
Bela, the traitor, speaks up anyway. “Not like you to be late twice in a row, sister. Especially at dinner. What has you so distracted, lately?”
“You’re dead.” Cassandra mouths, fingers tightening around Daniela’s neck, who is trying, unsuccessfully, to hit her. Then, in her nicest voice, since their mother can now hear, she replies “Some of us have actual hobbies, Bela.”
“Sounds interesting.” the elder sister hums.
Cassandra makes the mistake of releasing Daniela to advance on her, but— it is a grave mistake. “Hobbies as in the huuuuman you’re thirsting after—” A swift elbow flies at the youngest Dimitrescu’s side but she blocks it. “Hey. Hey, Bela. What do you call something that’s both horny and hungry?”
“…Horngry?” Bela chuckles.
“Cassandra.” Daniela cackles and Bela –this fucking traitor— snickers. The brunette doesn’t even want to check their mother’s reaction—
Alcina drops her forehead onto her palm.
It’s decided. Cassandra is killing Daniela for the greater good.

The Glitch
I get the Broken Reality au is a haha funny joke but there’s been some legit great art for it and since Butterfly is over and I haven’t gotten into the groove of my other projects yet, I decided to try some flash fiction of my interpretations. Note that this is very small and informal; I used whatever idea came into my head over the course of an hour or so instead of the weeks of planning that go into my usual fics. This was an experiment for fun. But if people enjoy the concept, I may be tempted to expand on it.
Credit to @lollitree @moonpaw @gentrychild @owlf45 and @cyber-phobia (I’m sorry if I missed someone I lost track of how many people were involved in this mess).
Content working for reference to infant death.
Please enjoy!
The city shut down for a typhoon warning.  Thunder rumbled in the distance.  Dark clouds blocked the sun so much that by mid-morning it still looked like it never bothered coming up.  And yet the humidity made it too hot for coffee.  Inko didn’t know how to feel.  Work would have been a good distraction.  But she didn’t want any coworkers or clients to see if today got to be too much.  And it was already shaping up to be.  She caught herself making two plates of food for breakfast.
Inko sat alone in the kitchen.  She couldn’t bring herself to finish her own plate.  Sickness set in fast.  The food had been cold for a long time before she summoned the strength to get up and throw it away.  Then she stood over the open trash can a while, debating whether to try and hold it together, or just throw up and get it over with.  She eventually managed to keep her stomach steady enough to go back to her bedroom.  There was another trashcan in there anyway.
A sound stopped her.  From her office.  The distinct sound of something heavy falling onto the carpet.  Right as she walked past the door.
Please not this again…
She opened the door with her eyes closed.  Her mind conjured a familiar image.  A bedroom full of books and hero posters.  Bright colors and personal touches.  A child’s room.  Inko opened her eyes to her drab home office.  Some of the older case file binders slipped off the pile again.  She really needed to sort those into storage. Not today though.  She didn’t bother to pick it up.
Inko walked faster than normal the rest of the way to her room.  She doesn’t want to face the temptation to search for old toys she remembers storing in the empty closet.  Or search the walls for scuff marks from action figures tossed into them she could always see even after the walls were painted. She hid her planner on a tall shelf and put the ladder away to make it that much harder to go through it over and over looking for doctors’ appointments and school events she knew were coming up.  Finally reaching her bed brought no comfort.
Of course she knew today’s date by heart.  She hadn’t put it on a calendar in the fourteen years since she used to look at it every day.  Inko stuck her head under her pillows, as if they could block out the silent noise of her memories.  Memories of before, the time even when she was by herself, she was never alone.
Fifteen years now, today.  With a shuddering gasp, the tears finally came.  Thunder crashed outside.  It’s not fair!  Why is it still this hard after this long?  Phantom kicks in her belly joined the growing ice there.
The hardest part was she still felt like that sometimes.  Like she wasn’t really alone.  Inko didn’t believe in ghosts, but the lost of what could have been was more than haunting enough.  She felt it watching her.  Judging her. Waiting just long enough for her to settle down into a peaceful, content existence before it reared up to plague her heart all over again.  Cliché hauntings like spooky faces in the mirror or blood coming out of the drains would have been preferable.  Those would be generic enough not to remind her directly.
Rain started outside.  Her phone lit up with a notification she ignored in time with a thunderclap.  The storm was getting closer.
Maybe I should call Hisashi, the thought crossed her mind.  Maybe he’s going through this too.  She bit her lip bloody.  Her frustrated memories weren’t in question like the others.  Probably not though.  I don’t want to talk to him anyway.
Hisashi had been stuck in the denial stage of grief, which often came off as him acting like he didn’t take hers seriously.  Not a year, not even half a year looking back, after they came home from the hospital, he wanted to try again.
“We can’t let mourning hold us up forever,” he said.  “And it’s not like we lost a once in a lifetime opportunity!  We’ve got at least another twenty years to keep trying!”
But we did lose him! she had wanted to scream.  Still did, years later.  Why didn’t he understand?  He was your loss too!  Inko wanted for the next roll of thunder, then shouted.
“I don’t just want any baby!  I want Izuku!”
The lights went out.  The temperature rose five degrees instantly when the ceiling fan stopped going.  The rain stopped.
Power outage.  Inko sat up with a sniffle.  Turns out the notification was a warning about roving blackouts.  Of course.  Oh well. I wasn’t really in the mood to cook tonight any-
Thunder boomed even louder than before, making her jump.  Then another.  Lightning flashed outside at the same time.  It was right on top of her.
What?  I thought the typhoon wasn’t supposed to make landfall until later toni-
Another crash.  It vibrated through her bones.  Then another. The lightning lit up her whole room. Except for a shadow on the wall. Inko jolted to look, holding her breath, and found only her own shadow in the next flash.
“I’m such an idiot…”  She went for her phone again.  For peace of mind, she decided to use her data to check if an evacuation order went out. Or any updates at all really, since the weather came so much faster than the news said.  “Nothing,” she sighed annoyed.  “I hate being alone for weather like this…”
A new notification pinged.
[Mom]
Inko blinked rapidly.  The message remained.  All of her insides turned inside out in an instant, and she started crying again. Was this someone’s idea of a sick joke? No one ever got a chance to call her that.  She touched the note to open it, but nothing happened.  No app or source was displayed.  Nor did it go away after a few seconds like normal.
“Wha- What’s going on?” she wept.  In a mix of sorrow and rage, she wound up to chunk the device across the room.  But she froze.
Outside her window, floating against the pitch-black sky, were two small orbs.  Perfectly circular and glowing.  Watching her. She didn’t dare move.
Another ping.  She looked without moving.
[I’m sorry]
“…  What?”
For a moment, all the sounds in the world dropped out.  They all came back at ounce.
Lights flickered.  Both the ones inside and the lightning going outside.  Multiple strikes laid on top of one another.  No relief.  Thunder pounded over and over like a drum solo.  It shook the whole building.  Inko ran into the closet away from the window.  She slammed her hands over her eyes but it didn’t help.  Her terrified cried were whispers to the screams of the storm.
A child’s scream.  She heard it. Each flash of light came with a cry. The distinct sound of a little boy calling out in pain blended with unyielding nature.  It came from every direction.  Every hair on Inko’s arms stood up in fear.  She felt the charge in the air.  But she had to go out.  Her baby was crying for help.
She burst from the closet into the living room.  All the lights and appliances turned themselves on and off.  The TV showed only static between its flashes. Something drew her too it.  The storm was deafening.  It pounded through her head like a heartbeat.  The beats got faster.  The static flashes started to look like a face.  Her usual caution was abandoned as she fell to her knees and touched the screen.  The snow cleared for a single instant.  Just long enough to look like the blank eyes from the window.  She felt the heartbeat there too.
Then it stopped.  All of it. The noise and lights all went quiet and dark.  The TV went completely cold in an instant.  Inko, stunned, palmed over it looking for something.  Anything.  The pulse. Warmth.  A burnt fuse or faulty wire.  But nothing.  The rain started again.
She pulled her hands back to her lap.  Her heart was still racing and tears kept flowing down under her chin. She looked around.  Everything in the living room and kitchen looked the same. No sign of the earthquake-like convolutions the whole appartement experienced only minutes ago.  Inko combed the entire space for evidence.  An object knocked off the shelf.  A picture frame fallen from the wall.  The notifications.  Toys in the closet or scuffs in the wall.  Still not a sign.  She even stepped outside her door to check the sky.  Only light rain and shattered thunder, just like the news said the day before.
There was only one thing out of place.  Back in her bedroom, the bottom drawer of her nightstand hung open.  Inko had to steal herself before approaching it. There were only two things in there: a little green blanket, and a picture of the ultrasound.  The most recent one from her last appointment. The doctor said he was doing fine.
“Izuku…” she whispered to it in her hand.
She remembered the squealing little bundling being put in her arms for the first time.  The first time he smiled at her.  Teaching him to walk, then immediately launching into play.  Him coming home with bruises and scrapes after the kids at school were mean to him, and crying in her arms.  Then, him coming home with his first real friends in a long time. She made them all dinner. Katsudon.  That was Izuku’s favorite.
Only she didn’t remember.  The same way she didn’t really remember the toys and scuffs.  Those were fantasies.  Daydreams of what could have been.  She just thought about them so often they felt like memories. Especially today.  It was his birthday after all.  They’d fade back into vague dreams by tomorrow.  They always did.
And she would be left with reality.  The silence.  The cold, still little hand between her fingers.  Soft cheeks without blush.  Eyes that never opened.  Clutching him too tight to her chest, knowing the second she let go he would be gone for real and it would all be over.
But it was never over.  Inko went through this same torturous song and dance every year for fifteen now.  All the guilt and dread would subside slowly over the next one, until it all came back at once.  Just like this.
At least it’s done for now, she tried to reassure herself, climbing back into bed. It still wasn’t even noon yet.  Plenty of time for another breakdown.  Hopefully the next one won’t be, feel, as loud.  She sighed heavily into her sheets.  This sort of thing can’t be normal.  I should really try therapy again.
Against her better judgement, she kept the blanket out, and clutched it to her chest.  Static electricity pricked her fingers.  With her other hand, she reached across the bed, and tried to imagine someone else there. Not Hisashi, never him anymore.  Izuku.  He was fifteen and happy, but the storm was making him nervous so he came to lay beside her.  She remembered it like it was now.  If she closed her eyes, she could feel his warm, soft skin, with a healthy, if a little anxious heartbeat just underneath.  The mattress warped as he sighed.
“We’ll be okay.  It’s just a little rough weather,” she promised.
“Okay, Mom,” Izuku answered quietly.  “…  I’m sorry.”
“You have nothing to be sorry for.”  I’ll start trying to get myself together tomorrow.  For now, let me have this.
Izuku didn’t respond for a while.  “I love you.”
“I love you too, baby.  Happy birthday.”

(a/n): wrote in the middle of my depressing days to find a little comfort from this character that I love with all my heart. inspired by true situations irl; if you, my friend, is feeling down today, i hope reading this work of mine can help. i might make this into a full story if this got enough attention tho.
Tumblr media
(Y/N) was nowhere to be found.
It wasn't Tsukishima's habit to eavesdrop on other people's conversation, but he couldn't help but listen when he heard her name from her classmates. She was a consistent top student that will never neglect her studies, so it was unusual to know that she was absent today. He thought that maybe she got sick or she decided to go crazy and skip school. If it was the latter, he hoped that she knows what she's doing, because midterms are coming in 3 days, and he's not going to listen to her whines and begs to help her study for the tests.
And now he just happened to overhear that she was missing.
He saw her parents walk out of the campus after talking to the vice-principal and to the teachers. Gossip filled the corridors and rooms. Tsukishima went back to his room, clearly annoyed with the unnecessary noise.
He listened to the lectures of each subject and continued to write down important points, but the thought of (Y/N) lingered in his head. What could've happened that led to her disappearance? Was she kidnapped? No, he just walked her home last night and she'll never leave her place past midnight. Kidnappers won't dare to make a move in daylight because of the town's high authority visibility. There's no way she'll be lost in an area she's very familiar with.
She ran away from home. That is the only logical possibility he could come up with, but he couldn't think of an idea as to why. (Y/N), who loves to be cooped up in her room with music blaring in her earphones while drawing, left her home without a trace. Tsukishima was a little worried, but he won't let his face show whatever the hell he's feeling.
His plays and blocks aren't exactly bad, but Yamaguchi could sense that Tsukishima was thinking of something other than the volleyball practice. He approached his friend who was resting on the floor, his long arms covering his curled up legs.
"Tsukki, what's with that expression? Did you get a failing score in a quiz?" Yamaguchi started, in an attempt to lighten up the atmosphere.
The blonde's eyes darted to him, "Like hell, I'm going to let that happen. What do you want?"
He shrugged, "Nothing, I just noticed that you were a little quieter and more passive today. Normally, you would've chewed the first years out with their simple blocking errors, but you didn't say a thing. You're scarier in their eyes when you're silent."
"I was tired. I'll only waste my voice pointing out something I did a million times." A sigh escaped his lips
"Right..." Yamaguchi paused, "So, I assume you have heard?"
"Heard of what?"
"That (Y/N) is missing."
"Oh," A frown fell on his features. It wasn't his usual frown. People who really know him would notice that his eyes are full of worry.
He sat beside Tsukishima before he spoke again. "I know you have ideas on places (Y/N) could've gone to."
"I do not know what you're talking about."
The latter chuckled, "Oh, humor me, Tsukki. If you're that worried, I can excuse you for today's practice. No problem."
"Does that mean that you aren't concerned?"
"I am concerned. I want to look for her as well, but I have to whip the other players into shape. I'm sorry if I couldn't accompany you right away."
Tsukishima stood up and sighed again, "You will excuse me, you said?"
"Yeah."
There were silence and the background noise of balls and shoes colliding on the floor. He wiped the sweat off his face before replying, "I'll be leaving the gym in a few minutes."
He changed his clothes and packed his things up, causing the team to exchange glances.
"Tsukki!" Yamaguchi called, throwing his friend's large jacket to him, which the other caught. "Take care! I hope you find (Y/N) and get her home safe."
"I wish. Then, I'll leave it to you, Captain."
The green-haired middle blocker's eyes teared up and sparkled as he beamed a smile back, "I got it!"
Tsukishima started to look for (Y/N) at the places she liked to go to; the art store, the Central Park, the kid's playground, the museum, and the prefectural library. But there was no sign of her anywhere. He looked at the nearby places to no avail. He walked on while dialing her number, but her phone is out of coverage area. He spent 3 more hours finding the girl and soon received a message from Yamaguchi, telling him that (Y/N) hasn't been found yet and that he joined the authorities to help them find her.
He walked back to the direction of his home, panting softly. He had failed to find (Y/N), yet his brain won't stop thinking about her possible whereabouts. The cool breeze of winter hit Tsukishima's face and shivered at the contact. He had hoped again that she is inside of an establishment, safe from such cold weather.
Tsukishima's home has its lights out. Her mother was invited into her colleagues' reunion as said in her text, and both his father and brother are busy at work. He reached for his key in his pocket and was opening the door, not until he heard a loud sob from somewhere. Tsukishima looked around the place as the sobbing continued. He searched for the source and ended up in their backyard. He caught the sight of a small figure behind the bushes and went closer to confirm.
It was a cat. It had scurried away once he got close to it. Oh, how stupid he is to get his hopes up only to find a scared animal. But he was certain he heard a sob somewhere near. And cats aren't capable of making a sound like that. Or maybe he was only hearing things?
He dragged his feet to the main door to unlock it, but this time, there was a loud noise of scrubbing on the roof. What is it this time? He moved back and looked upon where it came from.
To his surprise, it wasn't another cat but a person. Their legs were curled up, arms covered around them, with their chin on their knees. Tsukishima turned on his phone's flashlight and there she was.
It was (Y/N). Her shoulders shook, either from the cold or trying her best not to cry out loud.
"H-Help me."
He stared at the girl, confused and fighting back laughter because of how scared (Y/N) looked. "How the heck did you get in there?"
"I climbed that tree and jumped off to break in and hide in your room. Turned out that the windows are locked. I don't know how to jump back and I-I was too high from the ground. You know I'm scared of heights! Why did you lock the window?! Stupid!"
"Of course, I would lock the window for the security. And wow, aren't you the stupid one for knowing how to climb and jump up to my window and not knowing how to get down? Why did you climb if you are scared of heights? Such an idiot."
"Fine, fine. I am an idiot. Now, can you help me get off this roof?"
He crossed his arms and smirked, "No."
"Ugh! Please, Kei. I've been trapped here for hours. I am begging you to help me get down. Please?"
He sighed in defeat and raised his arms. "Here. Jump."
For seconds, (Y/N) didn't respond as she was having second thoughts about jumping.
"What? Do you expect me to get a ladder? I'm sorry, but it's in the basement, broken." He said in a mocking tone. "Don't you want to come down?"
"Can you catch me properly? Are your arms stable? Won't you fall on your ass?" (Y/N) interrogated.
Tsukishima rolled his eyes, "Alright, stay there and freeze to death."
"No, wait! I was just asking! Come back! Don't leave meeee!"
The blonde looked up to her and raised his arms again, "Don't think. Trust me, I will catch you properly and you won't crash to the ground. You weigh like nothing anyway."
"Are you talking about yourself?" She retorted, pertaining to his weight.
"Can you please just jump?"
(Y/N) inhaled and went to the edge of the roof. It was a scary view for her, just looking down makes her dizzy, and want to throw up.  She thought he would have the largest frown on his face because of how irritatingly slow she was, but there was Tsukishima waiting for her with the calmest expression. She smiled a little.
"Here I go..."
She took off, closing her eyes, and swallowing her fears. The gravity pulled her feet down shortly after, and Tsukishima readied himself for the impact as he reached her waist. He held on to her lower torso while (Y/N) placed her arms around his shoulders tightly and legs on his waist. The athlete's balance slightly went off, so he took a step back to support both their weights. It was now steady.
"I'm surprised you didn't lose your balance. Where's the weak boned beanpole 3 years ago?"
"I did for a second."
"Doesn't matter. You caught me. Thank you."
They had stayed in that way for a moment until Tsukishima spoke, "Do you plan to get off?"
"No. I'm tired."
"I am too." Yet she refused to let go.
He exhaled, carrying (Y/N) to the main entrance and finally unlocking the door. Her hoodie was cold and some parts are wet, but it didn't rain on that day. He took her in and placed her on the couch. Tsukishima went to his room, changed clothes, and brought a spare sweatshirt, handkerchief, and a towel. He went down but didn't find (Y/N) where he left her, so he walked to the kitchen counter and found the girl on the corner, shivering like a pup.
He tossed the clothing at her without further words. There was a note from her mom beside the curry in the table, saying she had eaten and she left rolls in the refrigerator. He was about to turn on the stove to reheat the food his mother left, but his eyes landed on (Y/N) who sat quietly, hugging the sweatshirt instead of wearing it. Her hair was disheveled, the sleeves and neck part of her hoodie was damp, her nose was red and her puffy, bloodshot eyes implied that she has been crying for who knows how long. He set the pan down to get her a glass of water.
"Everyone was looking for you." Said Tsukishima.
"No one was really looking for me." (Y/N) replied, clearing her nose.
"I didn't spend the last 3 hours tiring myself to scan the whole town for no reason." He sat beside her, handing the glass. "Care to spill the tea?"
(Y/N) drank first before speaking weakly, "I hate them. So much."
The male remained quiet, waiting for her to continue her dilemma.
"Remember when I told you and the class that I will be the most successful doctor in Japan after I finished my studies? It was a lie. It wasn't my dream to stay in a hospital and treat ill people, I only wanted to draw and paint. I didn't care if it never made them or anyone happy, I am happy doing it. And they are taking it away from me."
He knew from the start that her dream job as a doctor wasn't true. For years she stayed close to him as a friend or more, she won't blabber anything of the medical topic. She was terrified of syringes. He saw her reading an article about surgeries and like, but her focus was easily taken away.
She will get a pencil then start scribbling and drawing. Something that Tsukishima always sees her doing whenever she has a pen and paper, but she insists that it was a mere hobby. Her notebooks are well designed and organized, but the back is always full of artistic doodles instead of algebra solutions. She only has very few art materials yet she can make a portrait with only her fingers to shade. She makes digital art without a stylus. She would drag him to the museum after class to view some western and eastern paintings or any work of art while he admires the dinosaur fossils. For times she's watching an art tutorial and talk about art, draw and paint, she has those stupid sparkles in her eyes and a huge smile on her face.
"You know Tsukishima, after I finish studying and became a doctor, I'll become an artist and if the time let's it, I'll open my own art gallery. That's my ultimate dream." She looked alive and delighted.
Very much the opposite of what she looks like right now.
Even though she was a slave of art, as Tsukishima was a slave of his own interests, (Y/N) prioritized her studies so much. He understood why when he went to her house and met her parents before their study sessions. He had noticed everything but chose to stay quiet.
"I-I was drawing last night. Dad entered my room but I didn't notice so he ripped the music away from my ears and yelled. He said that I would always lock myself in my room and draw every night. It was never-ending and irritates the shit out of him. He asked why would I do something so useless that isn't even connected to any academic subject. He was looking down on my art like he was looking at a piece of crap. He told me to stop and threatened me if I didn't. Why would I get punished for drawing? I couldn't get myself to stay silent so I retorted. If he doesn't want to see me drawing, then he shouldn't enter my room at all. He should stop meddling with my hobbies. His anger only went up."
(Y/N) stopped for a while to wipe her tears and snot with her sleeves but Tsukishima placed a handkerchief on her hands. She muttered her thanks and blew her nose and soon followed with a sneeze.
"Soon, it became a full-blown argument. He said that he was checking out if I was doing my projects, but oh he was so disappointed only to find his daughter drawing for nothing. What the heck? I gave them the best grades I could get, and part of it was because of you, Tsukishima, but they still aren't satisfied? I balanced drawing and academics, but they made it seem that all I was doing was my hobby, completely ignoring my efforts at school. I finished the school activities and I reviewed for midterms and all I want is to be left alone and draw. What, they want me to go crazy by studying every hour with things I won't even apply in real life?"
Her fake laughter echoed in the kitchen for seconds before her depressed tone took over again.
"Mom heard all the shouting and joined the argument. Of course, she sided with dad without listening to my feelings and there they ridiculed their youngest child's interests and talent. They told me that everything I do is bullshit and wrong, that I was useless, that I was the huge opposite of their expectations, and... and how come God gave them a joke. She said they raised me so that I could help them, not to do such useless things. It hurts to shout back but I did to explain why I'm so passionate about art in hopes that they will listen and understand but, I was so wrong. I was suddenly slapped..." She placed her hand to her left cheek, her lips quivered a little.
"I-It stung so much. Mom complained about how the Internet generation is so rebellious and won't listen to the elders. They didn't raise and teach me to talk back at them, but here is their child being a bitch. They started comparing me to my elder siblings or relatives who focused on their studies and who are at the door of success. I know they only want me to achieve the best, but my success isn't up to them! It's on me!! And I've invested a lot for that! They shouted at me as mom pulled my hair. It was so loud I thought I was going deaf. Dad blamed the gadget's influence and my drawings. I have only drawn decent fanarts of fictional characters, people, and sceneries, but they believed that because of these, I turned into a mannerless bastard. So mom decided to get my phone and lessen my allowance so that I wouldn't buy any art materials that are a waste of fortune--"
She bit her lower lip that is trembling uncontrollably and her eyesight blurred as her fat tears got in the way.
"and... D-Dad... he... he... he tore m-my sketch pad apart..."
Tsukishima's eyes widened. (Y/N) brought that thing with her almost everywhere she went and it was filled with good drawings and art plans. She has a lot of them though, but Tsukishima could only imagine how she felt when her efforts were trampled over by someone important to her.
(Y/N) broke down, bawled her eyes out, and shrieked hysterically. He looked at her with a heavy heart. He had seen her crying sometimes, be it because of a sad movie or empathy, but never like this. A depressed, emotional wreck. Her eyes were sore enough after a lot of hours, but she won't stop crying. It was heartbreaking to see and hear his significant other in this state, yet Tsukishima didn't know what is the right thing to say.
But maybe there was no need to say anything at all.
Kei wrapped his arms around her weeping figure and pulled her towards him. Cry it out, pipsqueak. (Y/N) didn't expect this action, nonetheless cried in his shoulder He didn't care anymore if this meant he gets his clothes drenched in her snot and tears as long as she felt a little less lonely. He rubbed her back and hair in an attempt to comfort his lover. (Y/N)'s airways hurt, but she screamed the pain out, in hopes that the pain in her heart would vanish. Her weeping went on for long minutes until she choked in her own sobs that Tsukishima had to get her another glass of water.
"Tell me, Kei." She began, wiping her eyes, "Is there... something wrong with me? Is my dream really that insignificant?"
"There's nothing wrong with you. You followed your ideals. Anyone including me would've done the same." He answered beside her.
"I-It's realistic, right?"
"It is."
"Then... why did it turn out like this?" Her voice was cracking.
Tsukishima looked down, "The society is just very cruel."
"Yeah. It sure is. Such a cruel society to live with."
(Y/N) let out a dejected sigh and leaned on Tsukki's shoulder. "I couldn't look at them without such overwhelming fear and hate anymore. I wonder if... they knew that I was doing this for them. I'd like to make them smile with something I've made myself. Once, I made each of them a portrait. A realistic one made from a pencil. I couldn't afford a material set that can be used to paint realistically, but I tried my best to impress them with a charcoal one. Oh, if only you saw their faces when I gave them the portraits. They returned a half-hearted smile. It wasn't the same kind of joy I see whenever I give them perfect scores on tests. I didn't spend 3 sleepless nights just to see their half happy, half unpleased reaction. I wish they could feel more proud of their daughter who worked hard for them... I wonder if they threw it away as he did on my sketch pad..."
They let silence engulf the atmosphere for a while. (Y/N) had calmed down a little, despite shedding smaller tears from the side of her eyes. Tsukishima held the sweatshirt he gave her earlier to make her wear it on the top of her hoodie to lessen her shivering. He stared at her, while the other gazed down on the floor with dead eyes.
Tsukishima asked, "So, what are you going to do now?"
"What am I going to do now huh..." (Y/N) repeated. "I'll probably... put everything to an end."
"You know I won't let you."
"I'm not talking about my life, silly. I might stop drawing and all. I've lost it."
"Isn't your life and drawing one and the same? And I'm pretty sure you have that immense talent to continue."
"No... Besides, talent isn't a talent if it doesn't make anyone happy."
The blonde mentally scoffed. She just said that it makes her happy in the beginning.
"Oh? Fine, stop doing that one thing you put everything into. What would that girl you received a commission from would feel if she were to hear you though?"
(Y/N) was stunned. She had completely forgotten about the whole commission thing she opened in her social media accounts. Tsukishima accompanied (Y/N) on giving the commissioned charcoal portrait to a girl last 3 weeks ago. It was (Y/N)'s first commission for years she's making art. Someone liked her work for the first time and paid for it, and her client looks very contented and glad. The words she said filled her thoughts with inspiration.
"Wow, this is awesome! I'm so happy!! Thank you for making this, it was exactly what I've pictured on my mind! You're amazing! All the excitement I've bottled up for this day is so worth it," The girl, probably a little older than them paused and admired the painting she received from (Y/N).
"Would you ignore those words she said?"
'Please don't stop drawing, I'll be looking forward to your future works!'
A pang of guilt hit her chest. She wants to pursue art, but there are these shackles and chains on her limbs and around her neck that made it hard for her to move forward. She couldn't breathe. What happened yesterday night was too much. Her parents went overboard.
"B-But—"
A monotone voice interrupted her, "Don't. Never stop striving for something you have been building for years. You might be defeated now, but surely, you will win some time. There's no way you'll stay in the lowest level of the ladder after I saw how hard you worked. You will go to nationals again, and I will continue to support you. I'll cheer for you and stay by your side! So please, do not stop! Let me see those beautiful blocks that you execute in the game once more! And I will watch you reach the top! Doesn't matter how many times, I'll never get weary of watching you do amazing things!"
She was silenced by that statement. She had definitely heard those before, but couldn't quite remember where.
"Does the sentiment seem familiar to you? Those are the same words that came from your mouth when I was planning to quit volleyball after our huge loss to Date Tech last year. I am returning them back to you."
"Huh?" She replied with a meek voice.
"That time, you really did a good job meddling with my decisions. It annoyed me first, but what you had stated held a weight that I couldn't disregard. You gave me the small push I didn't know I needed. In the end, I'd like to pay you back." Tsukishima stated with a far away look in his eyes.
(Y/N) listened with watery eyes. This Tsukishima's side isn't definitely the one she gets to see every day so she couldn't feel anything but the warm, fuzzy feeling that is healing her heart.
"It's probably selfish for me to say this but, don't you dare give up. I didn't stop. No matter how long and hard the game is, no matter how tired and discouraged I get, and no matter how many pessimistic thoughts clouded my head, I didn't stop chasing after a falling ball and thinking of another tactic to counter the enemy. I kept your words with me in court. It was you who told me not to in the first place, and I'm not going to forgive you if you ever dropped everything. I won't let the stupid, starry-eyed (Y/N) die today."
The girl beside her started sobbing. "But you told me once that my drawing are ugly."
"Oh. That. I... kind of remember that. I'm not sorry about what I said because I did it to provoke and rile you up. It was a lie though. As someone who always sees you drawing, I can't call your work ugly at all. Your art is... astounding. You make it look like it's so easy to do. I think you forgot next sentence after I told you that."
"What was the sentence after?"
Tsukishima sighed, "I told you to keep doing it, right?"
The sound of (Y/N) crying engulfed the kitchen, "Oh gosh, why did I forget that... I'm sorry, I'm so idiotic..."
The blonde brought her back to his arms, "Will you stop crying, you've been too hard on yourself today,"
(Y/N) hid her face on his chest, muffling her speech, "c-couldn't help it... my mind is such a mess... I do not know..." She paused, coughing. "It's no use if m-my parents don't acknowledge me..."
"Hundreds, or perhaps thousands of people who follow you on social media account recognize you. People in school recognizes you. I recognize you. I am your ally. Isn't that enough reason for you to get back on your feet? I will support you just like how you supported me. You have a lot of people who admire you, but I only have a few people and you. Yet your words are enough. I'm certain that soon, you will reach your parents' standards and get them to acknowledge you. It's not impossible."
(Y/N) fixed her tear-stained face before looking up to him, "You know what? Who are you? Is a good spirit possessing your body? The Kei I know will either stay quiet or laugh at me for being pathetic."
"I was trying to be nice for once and this is what I get?" He frowned.
(Y/N) chuckled and hugged Tsukishima, "I'm sorry. Everything you said meant the world to me. Thank you very much."
She relaxed against his lean body, "I have a question though..."
"What?"
"You literally had no business in my art, it was my own problem. Why are you doing this?"
"Why don't you ask yourself after you argued with me that night? Why did you have to butt in with my choices?"
"Because you like volleyball! You might look like that someone stole your dinosaur collection when you're at practice, but you're good at it and have a future in it! It is a part of you, and you're deciding to throw it away? Your potential is too big to be wasted and I refuse to let that happen." Her voice is a little louder now, but hoarse.
"There's your answer, little gremlin."
"How is that— Oh."
"But I'd like to add something."
"What is it?"
"You look better doing what you really like. It makes you look less like a hag."
It was silent after that. (Y/N) punched his arm. Tsukishima didn't even wince but asked, "What was that for?"
"The last statement was unnecessary, and the first one is sweet yet cringey." She criticized.
"C'mon, I'm just a teenager. Aren't you the cringey one most of the times?"
She used the handkerchief to sniffle her runny nose away, "Why do you have a knack of returning everything I said to me?"
"I won't do it if it's not appropriate." Tsukishima placed his hands on her back and to her hair, "So, what are you going to do now, (Y/N)?"
"I'll think things through. My brain is still slightly messy, but I'll be fine, thanks to you. But Kei..."
He hummed as a response. "I don't want to go home. I want to run away."
"Not possible. You can't survive on your own. You're almost 18 and until now, you don't understand how a washing machine works with all your perfect scores in exams."
"This is just a thought. I didn't say I'll be alone. I'm taking you with me."
"I refuse."
"Why?"
"Couldn't you wait for more months until we graduate?"
(Y/N)'s eyebrows raised, "So basically, you're agreeing, but not this time?"
"No, but you'll be free of your parents' suffocating control. Who knows how huge is your potential by that time."
"How considerate of you." The girl smiled.
"Only this time. And no, we won't live in the same place in college. Not yet. Not until we finish our studies, have secured jobs, and get important things done."
"Will you be playing volleyball at college?"
He lazily replied, "Probably."
"Don't give me such an ambiguous answer!"
"Probably yes."
"Hmm. Fine by me. I'll continue to draw, then." (Y/N) rested her head near Tsukishima's neck.
He smiled a little at her answer, "Another thing though. I don't think... you should leave things with your parents like that. There'll be a time where you have to face it."
"Yes, that sucks... I don't want to think about it but I'll have to go back eventually... When that confrontation happens, I'll try to calmly talk it out with them. I will never be certain if it will end well. But my hate and fear of them won't change."
"You can always run back here if it didn't end well."
"Kei, don't want to see their faces just yet. Can I stay here for a while?"
"You even bother to ask. You are welcome anytime in this household. Just enter the house in the front door, not in my window."
"Right... thank you."
"Oh, now it's my turn to ask. How did you get in there?"
(Y/N) sighed, "It was on 4:30pm. I was on the loose and I looked for a store where anyone can't recognize me so I can eat for lunch. But there's this creep who kept on following me—"
"Did he hurt you?" He abruptly questioned.
"No. I ran as fast as I could before he could even get close to me, but in the next block, there were the town authorities with my mom, and I knew they were looking for me, so I blended into the people with my hoodie on and made my way. I climbed the tree in panic that they'll find me and hid there. It took me hours to notice that your house is just next to it, so I decided to climb to your window. However, the window was locked, and I was stuck."
Tsukishima sighed in relief. "It was a miracle that a klutz like you didn't fell off the tree and surprisingly, no one found you."
"I was high in adrenaline when I climbed the tree. My blending and hiding skills are in ninja-tier now, I beat you."
"Whatever. What did you have for breakfast?"
"...a melon bread."
"Just that?"
"Just that."
Tsukishima kissed her forehead before lifting her up with him. "Go change. Borrow any of my clothes. I'll reheat the food."
(Y/N) kissed his cheek, slowly got off him and went upstairs. Tsukishima opened his phone to text Yamaguchi about her situation and proceeded to reheat the spicy curry.
"Wait, Kei! Is it okay for me to eat?" She shouted from upstairs.
"What kind of question is that? Of course you can." He shouted back.
"Your mom left that for you, for your dad and for your brother. I'd feel bad."
"My brother and dad will come home late and I'm sure they've eaten already. So is mom."
"Are you sure? I can replace the food." She said while going down the stairs.
"Oh, you can cook? I'm afraid you'll burn the whole kitchen." He mocked.
"At least not the whole house." (Y/N) laughed, "Just kidding, I have a tiny knowledge in cooking."
"You don't have to, I told you they already ate. I'll bring out the sushi mom made if you still want to eat."
"Alright. Thank you for the food."
Few hours later, Tsukishima's mom came home and took off her shoes. "I'm home."
As she was about to enter the living room, Akiteru greeted her and placed his finger in front of his lips, indicating her to keep quiet. She wondered what was going on and saw her youngest son and his girlfriend leaning on his shoulder, asleep on the couch in front of the TV. He signaled her to read the note Kei left on the table.
To mom, dad, and brother,
Earlier in the morning, (Y/N) went missing and her parents and town authorities were looking for her. I found her on the way home, but it turns out that she ran away from her home because of an intense argument between her parents, and doesn't want to be found yet. Please let her stay here for a while. I'll do most of the household chores or any favor you ask me in return.
Mom, I shared the curry and sushi rolls with her. I left for some for dad and brother. (Y/N) said it was very delicious.
Love,
Kei.
She smiled after reading the note and looked at the sleeping kids. She took notice of (Y/N)'s eyes and quickly understood the situation. Before she left to rest in her room, she looked for a spare blanket and laid it atop them to keep them warm.
(Y/N) snuggled further to Tsukishima's arms, satisfied on how this night will end well, unlike yesterday's.

Aftermath of A Halloween Bet
I don't think there are any trigger warnings, just some mentions of horror movies. This is just a short fluff thing I put together for Halloween with Mira and Corus
Aftermath of A Halloween Bet
Mira was ready, all her paths set in her mind, she just had to make a move. Once Corus left she’d go and things would be fine. Even knowing how she was he left her alone in the room so she took off, sliding down the ladder he’d added to the kitchen table. She jumped off a bit before she reached the floor, she wanted to keep up her momentum. She would get home and things would be fine, just be missing for a few days. He wouldn’t be able to get her out of the walls once she was in them.
She got to her first entrance pulling the cover off and nearly screamed when she found it blocked. This was an emergency one, Corus shouldn’t know anything about it. She didn’t have long before he came back and she had to be gone. She abandoned the now revealed entrance and rushed to the counter. She pulled out her hook and sent it flying up in a single motion. A quick tug once it caught and she was climbing, only a few seconds before she’d reached the counter. She abandoned her hook and ran to the entrance by the cabinet. She could always come back for it later. She groaned as she found the cabinet moved just enough so she couldn’t get to her entrance.
She could hear footsteps approaching and bolted. If she couldn’t get in the walls she would just hide. She had just managed to squeeze behind the toaster when she heard the footsteps pause. He must have seen she was gone, this was bad. She had years of practice, this had to be in her favor. She shouldn’t have left any obvious traces, she’s always been careful. She never left anything behind.
“Hmm?” She could tell he was making himself sound louder. There’s no way he could know just where she went after checking the blocked entrance. “Now what is this?”
She froze, there’s nothing he could have found. It had to be a dumb joke or a ploy so she’d come out. She reached down to have her hook ready just in case and felt her heart drop. She forgot her hook. That’s wrong she didn’t forget it she abandoned it and left a clear clue to where she went. He knows the ground doesn’t have good places to hide, he’d find her. She had to find a way to get down and find a different entrance as soon as possible.
She felt the counter rumble when he placed his hand down heavily on it. She had to stay quiet, he’d overthink it she knew it. He’d assume she hid somewhere else, or leave the hook behind, and she’d be golden. She heard an annoyed sigh and tensed. He shouldn’t be able to reach her here. She would just stay until he left the room, hopefully he’d assume she’d gone somewhere further. Her thoughts were interrupted as the toaster was pulled away and she was wrapped in a fist. She started to squirm immediately, he wouldn't win easily.
“Mira,” Corus said. He had the hint of a laugh in his tone. She glared up at him. “Come on, don't be like this.”
She crossed her arms and turned her head away. If she couldn’t get away, she just wouldn’t speak to him. He sighed, pulling her closer and cupping her against his chest. He turned back to the kitchen table gently placing her down. He put her hook down in front of her then turned around to grab what he’d left for in the first place. She picked up her hook, carefully wrapping the rope back up and placing it in her bag. This was stupid and she wasn’t happy. She would definitely not play along. Corus turned to face her again, a smirk playing on his lips.
“Mira, you were the one who wanted to make a bet,” he was begging. She hated when he begged it’s how he got her to start sleeping in his room more, damn those giant pleading eyes. “I was going to dye my hair for the movie night if I was wrong, and you agreed to wear this if I wasn’t.”
He held out the doll clothes he’d found on a trip out with Zeke. It was a fairy doll which just so happened to be just about her size, a little bigger. The wings were attached to the dress even. She hated it the second he brought it home. He said it would be fun for Halloween. She told him it was a dumb human holiday. He let it go until they went to watch a movie. He’d been trying to prepare her for the yearly horror movie marathon with some classics. One came up with a title that caught her eye and he tried to skip it.
“Why would a movie about tall grass be scary and creepy like that?” she pouted. She hated that he was right, she’d had awful nightmares for weeks. “You cheated, you'd seen it before.”
He wrapped his hand around her giving a small squeeze, “No I hadn’t, but I knew a movie about humans in tall grass would probably scare you more than the others. I told you that and you decided to suggest the bet in the first place. Come on, you’re really going to back out now? Zeke told me that he and Kaya would be here soon. Apparently they were really excited to hear you agreed.”
She glared at him for a bit longer before finally taking the costume. She’d made the bet and he wouldn’t let her abandon it. Telling Kaya so they’d get excited was just rude. Since meeting Zeke they’d loved learning more about human stuff and this holiday had gotten them extra excited. They even stayed with Zeke for a while to get used to being around him more. She glared up at him until he put his hands up in mock surrender and left the room. She changed into the short purple dress, with pink translucent wings attached on her back so they’d stay flat. It fit surprisingly well, but she wouldn’t be happy about this.
“I’m ready,” she yelled. Corus poked his head in, smiling when he saw her. He thought she looked adorable. He always thought she was kind of like the fairies he was told stories about, seeing her with wings suited her. He walked up slowly and pulled out his phone, setting the camera to selfie. He held it in front of her and waited.
“I guess it’s not so bad,” she mumbled. He could see the blush creeping up her cheeks. He quickly saved a picture, she was too cute to let this one go. She pouted more once he did that. He chuckled, then offered his palm to her. She stepped on carefully, sitting down before he pulled his hand up. He placed a quick kiss on top of her head then started to walk to the living room. The two got comfortable while waiting for their friends.
Mira noticed Corus kept sneaking glances at her. He tended to forget how much his small movements stood out with her size. She started to think maybe this outfit wasn’t that bad. He seemed happy and it looked almost normal considering her eyes and hair. She smiled when she heard the front door open and Zeke walked in with Kaya riding on his shoulder. They were dressed up in a green dress with translucent lime wings, the same as her. The two dressed as fairies were left for a bit as the humans went off to finish getting what they needed for the movie marathon.
“Mira, it almost looks like you were born with those wings,” Kaya told her.
“I think that’s stretching it, but it’s not as bad as I thought,” she answered. “You look amazing Kaya. I’m shocked he convinced you.”
“I just thought it was cute, I don’t get to wear dresses much as a scout,” they blushed looking away. Mira hooked her arm through theirs and smiled brightly.
“Well that’s a loss for everyone else. We get to see you looking amazing like this and no one else does.”
“All right time for the movies to start,” Zeke announced as the two humans finally came back. Kaya’s blushing had grown worse, making them hide their face in their hands. Mira looked towards the humans and thought she was dreaming. They were dressed like Mira and Kaya were. Corus had a blue tunic with a belt and black pants with solid blue wings on his back, his hair was bright blue too. Zeke was wearing the same general outfit, but red where Corus was blue and his hair was a red she’d never seen on a human. She grabbed Kaya’s arm, forcing them to look at the humans. The two came and sat on the ground at the table.
“What’s going on?” she asked. Kaya was lost too, they had completely forgotten the comments from earlier. Both the humans looked at the two with wide smiles.
“It’s Halloween everyone wears costumes, we’d gotten these together after we found those doll clothes that looked to be the right size for you. The hair was after the bet though,” Corus made a sly face. She gave him a weird look then pulled Kaya over to the pillows placed on the table for them. The two sat leaning back against them, the humans leaning on the pillows as they finally started the movie. As the music played and credits started, Mira couldn’t help thinking maybe Halloween isn’t so bad.

Star in the Sand Ch.24
Tumblr media
Going to pull his love back into his arms his felt nothing but the bed and his eyes snapped open, his breath catching in his throat. Seeing that she truly was no longer beside him he quickly tossed the blanket back and stood. Scanning the room he hurried to the bathroom but didn't see her there. Where was she? WHERE WAS SHE?! Noticing the bedroom door cracked he started moving through the house quietly, listening for any threat. As he got down the hall though and into the living room he heard a soft voice.
"...if I could turn back the time I'd make it all right...something within your eyes said it could be the last night...."
He knew that voice, the only voice to ever make his knees feel weak. Rounding the corner just as quiet he stood and watched with a small grin on his face as he saw her. She was standing by the counter in the dark, only the light of the moon coming in through the window lighting the room. She wore only his dress shirt that she had been wearing before bed and he felt his lip lift more when he noticed her swaying hips as, the faint noise and the glow from her phone telling him she was listening to her music. When he had produced the thing on the ship she had let out an actual squeal of joy, telling him how much she missed her music.
"...Just wanna be wanna bewitch you in the moon light. Just wanna bewitch you all night..."
She sung without knowing he was there, her small bare feet tapping on the tile floor. He knew what song that was, it was one he quite enjoyed. Getting an idea he moved towards her. Looking over her shoulder he saw she was making...eggs? In the middle of the night? Had to be pregnancy cravings. Remembering he was on a mission he glanced down to the phone sitting on the counter beside her and grinned as he unplugged her headphones making the music play out loud.
Yelping out of fright you quickly turned and looked up to him. "Are you trying to make me go into labor early?" you scolded. However he only grinned as he took the spatula from you and set it down, turning off the oven. Seeing a small smirk on his face made you furrow your brows, a light grin on your face as he took your hand and pulled you away from the oven some. Not saying anything as he moved your hands into place and slowly began moving and singing along with the music you could only smile. He was dancing with you.
"There a sting in the way you kiss me." he sung in his deep voice. Dancing around the kitchen with both of them only in there pajamas he coudl only grin at the large smile on her face. "Just wanna bewitch you all night."
Giggling as he spun you around and dipped you back you came up and laid your head on his chest "Whoawhoawhoa..." you smiled, closing your eyes as the song ended.
Sighing he continued swaying with her for a few moments, just enjoying this closeness with the woman he had missed so much. Bending down he scooped her up and sat her at the bar while he moved to plate her scrambled eggs. Placing the plate in front of her he saw her give him a smile as he moved to make them both some tea, making her lavender so maybe she will sleep. Taking them both over to the bar with one hand he sat beside her and heard her give him a small thank you. Watching her as she ate he could only sigh in contentment, grinning back at her when she would smile at him.
.....................................
The next few days had went by peacefully, an odd but not unwelcome change to the past half year. Crocodile wouldn't allow you to do anything that he considered work which basically meant everything but laying about. So you spent you time when he was away playing on your phone, looking over books and planning out what you wanted to do with the baby's room. Sitting back against the wall in what would be your almost certain son's room you had your feet crossed under you and the sketch pad opened in your lap. Tapping the pencil on your finger you bit your lip as you glanced at the room and then back down at the paper, sketching out an idea of a mural you wanted to paint on the wall. Hearing footsteps you giggled when you saw the flamboyant man do a twirl out of the corner of your eye.
"For the mama to be." Bentham spoke, bending almost in half with one foot raised into the air as he held out a freshly made smoothie on a tray.
Smiling you looked to your friend and gave him a thank you as you took the drink. Bon had quickly took up making your smoothies in Sanji's place, adding in your vitamins that Chopper had made for you. Going to take a sip he stopped you.
"Ahah... I almost forgot."
Watching as he popped a tiny drink umbrella into your smoothie you giggled and shook your head. "You're too much." you told him as he took his seat beside you on the hardwood floor.
Looking down at the beautiful drawing Bentham smiled. "Oh I like it. I think you should go with that little Croco junior will love it. "
"You think? You don't think it will be too much?"
"Not at all. Plus it goes perfectly with the music box King Neptune gifted you."
"That's what I was going for."
"Besides what could go better for the son of a notorious pirates room than a sea theme?" he chuckled.
"Very true." you smiled, starting to add in the last details. Holding it up you gave it a final look over.
"Say what's that blocked area for then?" he asked when he noticed a part of the picture had a missing rectangle in the left side.
"A door, Croc is having on put in so that way it can be directly connected to our room."
"That's a good idea. It'll make it easier for when you have to get up in the middle of the night to feed him too."
"Yeah." you sighed. "Poor fella is likely to starve." you spoke glancing down to your small breasts. While the rest of your body seemed to be starting to get back to normal you 'girls' hadn't yet got the message it seemed.
"Oh don't say that, they'll perk back up and once you have the little bundle of joy they will fill up with milk real quick."
"I hope so." you said with a sigh. You couldn't help but feel self conscious as you thought on the manner. Ever since you were reunited with your soulmate he had made no move to touch you sexually and you couldn't help but wonder if it was your body, if maybe he didn't find you appealing anymore. Even last night when the both of you had retired to bed for the night you had tired sparking something but after your kisses just started getting deeper he had ended them and stood from the bed, telling you he had forgotten to finalize something on his paperwork. Watching him leave the room you licked your lips and blinked your eyes to keep the tears at bay as you laid back down.
Sensing his friend's sadness he kit his brows and tilted his head, "Y/n... is there something wrong? You know you can confide in me."
Taking a deep breath you grinned and nodded before looking to him, "Thank you, it's nothing just hormones." you said with a roll of your eyes.
Humming he decided to let it go for now, not wanting to upset her. "So what colors are you going to do for the bedding and such?" he asked, deciding to just get her mind off of whatever was bothering her.
............................
There everything was ready for tonight. He had the location ready, a private gazebo on the beach that his men would made sure stayed private. The chiefs had been told what meal to prepare, something she would like but also something that wouldn't harm their child. He even told them to throw together some type of dessert to appease his woman's sweet tooth. Taking the dress he had bought her for this evening to their room he laid it out on the bed, setting the matching shoes and even a new necklace that had caught his attention in the shop. Having already set his clothes aside in one of the other bathrooms so when the time came he coudl change and freshen up he  glanced back to the bedroom door. He coudl hear her and Bentham in their son's future room still and let out a breath as he moved to the dresser to grab the hidden velvet box underneath his spare scarfs.
Looking down at the ring he grinned, a warmth spreading through his chest. Tonight was the night, tonight he would ask his star to marry him, to become his wife.
"Y/n absolutely not, get down from there.... Mr. Zero!"
Snapping the box close he pushed it into his pocket and moved to the room next door to see Bentham trying to keep his soon to be fiancé from going another step up the ladder she had somehow gotten into the room without him knowing, where had she even gotten one?
"Oh Bon would you calm down I'm like two feet off the ground..."
"And now you are three. You might fall... no...MR.ZERO!!"
"Stop yelling I'm right here." he growled out to the male before moving over to his woman who was now eye level with him. Seeing her look to him and smile he rose a brow.
Seeing him raise a brow in what you knew was a silent 'what do you think you are doing?' you turned to start drawing out the mural outline on the wall.
Ignorance, that was her play. Giving a small grunt he looked to Bentham and tilted his head.
"See you tomorrow Y/n. Don't do anything I wouldn't do."
Giggling you continued working, "That doesn't leave much."
"Then you are sure to have a good time." the man laughed as he walked down the hall.
Huffing out he shook his head even though he enjoyed seeing his darling having a friend. Once he heard the front door close he looked back to her and crossed his arms over his chest as he watched her draw on the wall. "When I said you had free design control of our child's room I didn't mean you would be the one doing the labor."
"This isn't what I would consider labor, I'm just sketching out the mural."
"And yet you are standing on a ladder, that I don't even know where you got ... while six months pregnant. I can't believe I am going to quote Bentham but, You might fall. I don't want you climbing things."
"Croc, hun I'm fine. I had to jump from like two stories at Punk Hazzard."
"What did that get you, oh yes, a concussion, three bruised ribs, a nice bruise on your face... shall I continue?" Seeing her shake her head he knew what face she was making imminently, nose wrinkled, brows knit together. "Get down."
Hearing how deep and serious his voice was now you sighed and tuned around to look him in the eye. "If I let someone else do it then it's not going to be done right. It's my artwork in our son's room I want to be the one to do it." Seeing his face remain unbudgingly you gave a small whine and wrapped your arms around his neck. "Baby please... I won't have to be on the ladder the whole time just the parts I can't reach..." hearing him grunt you moved your face to his neck and whined again, beginning to pepper his jaw and neck that wasn't covered by his scarf in kisses. When you felt his arm's uncross and move around your body you knew you were winning, only a little more push. "Pleasssse."
Closing his eyes tight he grit his teeth. Damn his pent up sexual frustrations. Her mouth on his neck was quickly making him loose his resolve on the matter. As her body pushed up closer to his he felt his cock twitch in his pants. He wondered if she knew how much control she had over him...hearing her beg him in such a sweet little voice he rolled his eyes behind his lids, oh yes she knew, little minx. Sighing he opened his eyes partially but didn't move away from her, enjoying the feel of her mouth on his skin too much. "You will only be allowed on the ladder when I'm in the room. If I am busy then you will not get on it until I am in here and you will not overwork yourself. Am I clear?"
Wasn't what you were going for but it was better than nothing. Smiling you pulled away to look at him and nodded.
'She has you wrapped around her finger.' Huffing out he pulled her to him, slamming his lips into hers. Tightening his arms around her while still being mindful of their child in her womb he growled lowly when he felt her try to deepen the kiss. He shouldn't, he knew he shouldn't but he wanted it as well. Flicking his tongue out to tease her lips he grinned a little as she quickly parted them, allowing him entrance. Rolling his tongue around her mouth he felt his cock harden more in his pants.
He was quick to dominate the kiss, as always but you didn't care, in fact you welcomed it. Melting more into his huge frame you felt your panties becoming damp, a pressure in your lower abdomen. When he lifted you up with his hook under your ass and his hand on your back you dropped your pencil to the floor.
He wanted her, he wanted her so much his body was moving on instinct alone. Carrying her to their room all the while never breaking from her mouth he moved to lay her on the bed but just before he coudl he opened his eyes slightly and saw the dress he had previously laid out. Freezing he felt his muscles stiffen and sighed. Ending their heated kiss he gave a few more kisses as he tried to regain control.
As he ended the kiss and slowly set you on your feet you couldn't help the ache in your heart as he refused to go any further with you once again. "C...croc did I... am I doing something wrong?"
Hearing how soft her voice was and sensing the sadness in it he closed his eyes for a moment before looking down to her. "No my little star you are doing nothing wrong, you could never do anything wrong. Right now is simply not the time." Seeing her confused and noticing the hurt still lingering in her eyes he kissed her lips and then forehead. Stroking her hair he breathed deeply, reminding himself of everything he had planned tonight. Clearing his throat you stood tall and looked down to her. "How about you go take a shower and get ready, I left something on the bed there for you. Then you meet me in the foyer and we will go have dinner."
You didn't really feel like going anywhere now, your hyperactive hormones making your emotions run haywire.
"I think you will enjoy what I have planned tonight."
Hearing this you breathed in deeply and nodded.
Kissing her head he cupped her cheek, stroking her soft skin with the pad of his thumb.
With one last kiss to the crown of your head he left you to get ready. Glancing to the bed you indeed saw a dress laying there, an elegant midnight blue dress. Noticing the matching shoes and solitaire diamond necklace you grinned a little. Not wanting to disappoint you moved to the bathroom to get ready for your apparent date.
................................
Standing in the foyer he turned when he sensed his darling behind him. When he saw her he felt his breath hitch in his throat and a smile come over his face. Smiling down at his soulmate he looked over her form. The dress that he saw hanging in the window at the store early this morning fit her perfectly, giving him glimpses of her soft skin and shaping her rounding belly. Running his hands down her bare arms he took her hands while he looked into her eyes. "You look beautiful, as always."
Blushing you gave him a look over, seeing he was wearing a tie tonight as well as a full suit. He looked incredible and you grinned as walked over to him, placing your hands on his chest. "If Caiman inherits your looks then I sure do feel bad for all the girls hearts he is likely to break." Seeing him blink and then noticing his cheeks getting a little color you smiled. The black suit fit his bulging form perfectly, making his shoulders look wider if it were even possible. His tie the same color as your dress showing you how much he had planned this out. Then again Crocodile always dressed to impress.
Clearing his throat he pulled away to completely take her in. Seeing her the new necklace he felt pride fill him at how lovely it matched with the star ear rings he had bought her all those months ago. He couldn't wait to add a ring to her collection of jewelry. She had left her hair down but had curled it a little more. Overall she looked stunning. Taking a deep breath he placed his hand on her back and opened the door for her. Walking with her down the street the two of them just talked about this and that, he pointed out different places on the island. Getting close to their destination he turned and blocked her view, "Close your eyes." he said and saw her look to him in suspicion before she obeyed and closed her eyes. Grinning he leaned down and kissed her lips, "Keep them closed." he told her in a deep, low voice. Carefully leading her down the path he was happy he had decided to get her flats. Getting to the secluded area he looked back to make sure everything was perfect before he pulled her slowly into the middle of the Gazebo.
You could hear the soft sound of waves in the background and the gentle breeze making you guess the two of you were close to the sea. His hand rubbed your hip and a little over your belly while his hook was placed on the other side, holding you in place. You coudl feel the warmth of his body on your back and smell his cologne. Feeling his breath on your neck you had to hold back the shiver that ran up your spine.
"Open your eyes."
Doing as your soulmate said you let out a small gasp when you saw where you were. Under a softly lantern lit Gazebo sat a stone table with a beautiful meal and two chairs on either side for the both of you to sit on. Around the area were blossoming pink and white flowers, giving you privacy and making the scene even more breathtaking. Feeling him still standing behind you, you moved to look back at him. "You did all of this? Croc this is amazing, it's beautiful." you spoke with a soft smile, looking up into his silver eyes. "Pirate, businessman, fashion designer, event planner. You're just a jack of all trades aren't you."
Chuckling at her flattery he leaned his head down to place a kiss on her bare shoulder and run his hand and hook along her hips. Running his nose up the curve of her neck and breathing in her scent he sighed. When her hand cupped his cheek and she tilted her head to catch his lips he slowly wrapped his arms around her and held her to him. Moving his lips against hers he felt his member twitch, his arousal from earlier coming back and swallowed hard before pulling away. Kissing the tip of her nose he sighed and moved his hand back to her hip to walk her to the table. "Let's eat before it get's cold."
...................
Chuckling and shaking his head as she told him about how she had helped Luffy send Big mom a bomb he took a swallow of his drink. "She isn't going to be happy when she gets it."
"I hope it blows up in her fat face." you grunted, shoving your spoon into the tart before placing a piece on your tongue. "Should have sent a note with it.... from your granddaughter, may you rot in hell."
Huffing he set down his glass. He knew she despised her family, even though she had always wanted one. She would never say it but he knew it hurt her that she would never have the family she had always craved as a little girl. But he would do anything and everything in his power to give her their own family. Seeing her finish off her dessert he stood and moved over to stand by her. "Walk with me?" he asked as he held out his hand for her to take. Pulling her up as soon as her small hand took his he moved his hand to her back, feeling her skin under his fingers where the dress had a cutout.
Walking beside him down the stone path that led to the beach you grinned up softly at the star filled sky.
Seeing her looking up he stared at her shinning eyes and smiled, starlight. "How are your injuries?" he asked, breaking the comfortable silence as they walked down towards the sea.
Turning you smiled up at him, "Better, that salve Chopper makes works wonders."
"Good. You are taking the vitamins he made you as well."
"Yes. Nasty things."
"Foul tasting or no I want you to take them like you are supposed to." Hearing her grumble he got to the area he had had picked out earlier this week and spun her around so she was standing before him. Looking down into her blue eyes he lifted his hand to cup her face, stroking his thumb over her cheek. "You will take them so that you and our child will be healthy. I want nothing more than for you to be as well as possible."
Grinning you leaned into his touch and looked up at him. Blinking you knit your brows a bit when you noticed him just starring at you. There was a strange look on his face, one you so rarely saw, nervousness. "Croc... is something wrong?"
He had just been thinking of how much she meant to him, of how heartbroken he had been when she was taken from him. Licking his lips he cleared his throat a bit. He had been so sure he would never get this moment again and he wasn't going to mess it up. "I Never thought I would experience love. I gave up looking for my soulmate, assumed I didn't have one. My whole life I have always felt like there was something missing. I did everything I coudl to make that feeling go away, even tried to take over a whole country." he told her and heard her giggle lightly. "As it turns out though it wasn't a something I was missing but a someone, my other half, my soulmate. A much as I hate to admit it I screwed it up in the beginning, I pushed you away and I hurt you. For some reason though you forgave me, like you do every time I mess up, every time I fail you." He couldn't help but look down to the ground for a moment as he admitted his wrongs but quickly swallowed and looked back up to her. "I know I'm not an easy person to love, I know I make it difficult and I want to thank you for never giving up on me." His heart was hammering so hard against his ribcage he was sure it would soon burst from his chest. "You make me feel complete, you make me happy, happier than I can ever remember feeling. You are so loving and caring, beautiful and kind." he smiled and saw her blushing. "Truly if I was to stand here and list everything there was that I love about you we would be here until the sun rose above the horizon." Staring into her eyes he licked his dry lips as he pulled the velvet box from his pocket and moved to one knee. "I promise to care for you, protect you until the end of my days. You have and will forever be the only woman I ever love. I will provide for you and you will never want for anything. My only request of you is that you do me the honor of becoming my wife and I your husband."
You felt your breath hitch in your throat as you listened to his kind words and then saw him drop to one knee. Sucking in a shaky breath you looked down to see he did in fact have a ring pulled out between the both of you. Snapping your eyes back up you saw him looking at you in pure adoration. "Y...you want to marry me? you asked in a whisper, not believing you ears. Your eyes were already filling with tears as you looked into his own eyes that were even with yours.
"Nothing would make me happier my little star." Seeing her nod and the tears fall from her eyes he rose a brow, wanting to hear it himself.
"Yes." you choked out.
Smiling he had the ring on her finger and his arms wrapped around her in a heartbeat, pressing his lips to hers in a deep kiss.
He was quick to deepen the kiss and you felt your arousal coming back full force. Kneading your fingers into the hair at the base of his skull you grinned and pulled away enough to look up into his eyes, "What do you say we go back home and celebrate?"
Smirking he scooped her up into his arms and felt her mouth move back to his as he made the walk home, this time taking the shortcut. Locking the front door clothes hit the floor all the way down the hall towards their bedroom. Securing that door as well he removed his hook, holding her with his forearm while he dropped the heavy prosthetic to the chair. Feeling her hands quickly unbuttoning his shirt he growled as her hands rubbed over his bare skin. Shuffling out of his jacket and shirt he dropped them to the floor, the price of the clothing not even crossing his mind. Her dress had already been pulled off her shoulders to reveal her breasts and it took him only a moment to set her down to drop the satin fabric to the floor before he had her back in his arms.
Moving to the bed he crawled onto it all the while holding her to him. When he got close enough to the middle of the bed he lowered them down and held himself up on his left forearm while his hand went to work groping the soft flesh of her breast. Pushing his clothed sex into hers he heard her whimper and grinned before his mouth moved down to her neck. Leaving his mark on her neck and over her collarbone he felt her hands rubbing over his back.
Deep groans and growls were leaving his throat as he licked at your skin, soothing the pain from his teeth. When his love bites moved down to your sensitive breasts you gasped and heard him let out low hum, his lower half pushing his member into your core hard enough to make you mewl in need. There was no doubt your panties were soaked, dampening his pants as well. God how long had it been, over half a year. Before you were taken it wasn't uncommon for you and Croc to have sex at least twice a week. When he moved his hand between you both, having to arch his back to make room around your baby bump to unbuckle his belt and pants. Biting your lip when he took your nipple into his mouth you felt him suck once and just about came undone right then.
Hearing her moan he smirked around her nipple, "You sure are sensitive here little star." he growled into her lower breast. He had heard how sensitive pregnant women's breast were but never did he imagine he would enjoy it so much. Giving her other nipple the same treatment he felt her nails dig into back making him growl and roll his now freed member into her panty covered sex. He was so hard it was painful, he needed her so desperately but he wanted to drag this out, to enjoy their first time together in so long. Kissing her belly he continued moving south to the top of her panties, nipping the lace with his teeth. Sitting back on the balls of his feet he gently pulled her panties down her legs. She kept her legs closed and her knees pulled up as he looked down at her body basked in the moonlight coming in through the curtains.
Seeing him looking over your naked body but not saying anything made you feel self conscious. Although you had been eating better now you knew your body was not what he remembered. Licking your lips you swallowed hard, Adverting your eyes from his ever serious face as more negative thoughts filled your head. Subconsciously moving your arms to cover yourself you curled up and moved to get up from the bed when a strong hand grabbed your hip and pinned you back down.
He had been admiring the beautiful body that he had only snapped out of his thoughts when she went to curl away and he snapped his eyes to her face to see the apprehension in her eyes. "No." he spoke quickly when he saw her go to hide away. "You are so beautiful darling." he assured in a low, gentle voice, leaning down to kiss her temple and massaging her hip and thigh. Leaning back to look back down her body and seeing her try to cover her belly with her arm he grabbed her wrist and held it down beside her. "This body is giving me a child, something I never thought I would want or have until that night. I wouldn't trade you for anyone in this world or any other for that matter." he said, placing a kiss to her swollen belly.
Blinking back tears as your worries were pushed away you pulled at his arm until he leaned back over you, meeting your lips in a tender kiss. "I love you Croc." you said, cupping his face in your hands.
"Not as much as I do you." he grinned softly. Kissing he he slowly pressed the tip of his tongue to her lower lip and felt as she granted him access. Kicking his pants, socks and shoes off the bed while their tongues danced along with one another he lowered his body to hers. He could have sighed at feeling their skin on one another's again. He felt pride fill his chest as he moved his fingers up her slit. Pressing his index finger into her he felt her shudder and grinned into the kiss. He was careful as he began working his finger in and out of her, preparing her for him. Bentham had told him what had almost happened to her in Impale down. He had been enraged to find out that his starlight had been moments away from being raped by those men before Bentham had shown up and he was sure that that had been why he had heard her call out for him. Oh how his heart ached to know that what might have happened to her and he wouldn't have been able to help her. It was one reason why he had shoved back any desire he had for her, not wanting to push her into something until he knew she was absolutely ready but feeling how wet she was now he knew she wanted him just as much as he wanted her.
Adding another finger he rubbed small circles over her clit with his thumb. She was whimpering softly now, her hands gripping his shoulder and bicep. When he felt her flutter around his fingers he gave one final curl before pulling away, he  wanted to feel her come undone around him. Running his cock up and down her slit to coat it in her slick he situated himself between her legs. Lining up his painfully hard cock with her entrance he moved his only hand to grab her own and lace their fingers together. Then slowly he entered her.
Being filled you both broke away from each other's mouth to let out noises of pleasure. Your own being a long, soft moan while his deep groan vibrated along your chest. It was slightly painful, the stretch reminding you of your first time together as your body readjusted to your soulmate's. Feeling his head drop to your shoulder and his teeth scrape against the thin skin of your neck as he pushed in to the hilt you shuddered, your hand that wasn't holding his gripping him for dear life. You wouldn't be surprised to find marks on his back tomorrow.
He trembled in need as he waited for her to adjust to his girth, every muscle in his body as tight as a bow string. Placing hard kisses and bites to her neck and shoulder he tried to keep from fucking her like he so badly wanted to. She needed this time, she was so tight around him, her body unfamiliar to his cock after so long. Groaning he pulled out just a little to thrust back in and let go of her hand to grip the bedding beside her head hard enough to turn his knuckles white. Doing it again he heard her let out a moan and growled, gritting his teeth.
As soon as he started moving you felt your body cling to him, your lips kissing his hard shoulder. You could feel his muscles tightening beneath your palms, his hips rolling expertly into yours. It was no time at all before you felt that coil in your belly growing tight, ready to snap at any moment.
Clenching his teeth he grunt and groaned, wanting to last longer, wanting them to savor their first time together in so long but his climax was coming in fast. She just felt so perfect around. Licking along her jaw he heard her whimper, felt her clench around him. Seems they both were in need of release. Kissing back up to her mouth he pushed his lips to hers and moved his hand down to grip her thigh, pulling it to lay over his hip. "Mmmmm." he hummed into her mouth, being allowed deeper. Angling his thrusts to hit her sweet spot he gave a low moan of his own. Quickly moving his hand back to hold hers by her head he rolled his tongue around her mouth. With one last hard thrust they were both crying out in bliss. His whole body went stiff, holding her tightly under him as he pumped her full of his seed.
You could feel his cock twitching inside of you before the warmth of his cum filled you up. Coming back down from your own high you slowly laid your head back onto the pillows and felt him kiss your forehead once before he was gently easing out of you, your body flinching as your still slightly spasming sex clung to him. Being pulled to his chest once he had moved to lay beside you, you laid your head on over his heart and listened to it slowly go back to it's normal rhythm.
They stayed there with their eyes closed for a while, him stroking her belly when a thought crossed his mind. "Are you alright? Was I too rough?" he asked in a low, deep voice.
Forcing your tired eyes open you grinned and craned your neck to kiss his jaw. ""I'm perfect, you were amazing." Giggling a little when you saw him smirk as you added to his ego you kissed his chest. Stretching you moved to get up from bed when a strong hand caught your wrist in a gentle grip.
"Where are you going?" he asked softly, stroking her arm with his thumb.
"To go clean up." you said with a grin but then saw that mischievous look in his silver eyes, one of his brows raising.
"Who said we were done?" he questioned and saw her blush. Leaning up he grabbed the inside of her knee and pulled her back across the bed to him, time to make up for lost time. Leaning down to kiss her binding mark he felt her fingers rub through his hair.

FFXIV Write 2021 Prompt #8
Tumblr media
Adroit (adjective) clever or skillful in using the hands or mind.
The Hunted: Part 2 (cut placed due to length)
Phoebe paced the floor of the Rogue’s Guild nervously. She’d been there all night, lurking in the corner as she waited to see her old mentor, Jacke. She’d need his advice on her current situation if she wanted to find this Hunter before… she shuddered at the thought of what any of it could mean. The man sent after her the last evening was obviously a decoy who was meant to put fear in to her mind. It angered her that it had worked so well. She’d need to get ahead of her enemy if she wanted to protect herself.
Finally, around 5am Jacke came stumbling in, smelling of cheap perfume and plenty of booze. If she didn’t catch him now, she never would. Phoebe stepped into his path, blocking him from his room where he’d sleep the entire day away. He paused for a moment and a confused look crossed his face. Who dared to stand in his way? He stared at her chest for a good solid minute before he spoke up. “Hold on… I know… I know these tits,” Jacke said. He finally glanced up at Phoebe, who was rolling her eyes. “Ah, Phoebe! What brings ye to my side of this here fine city? ‘Ere to pay your respects to yer favorite guild master, eh?” He waggled his eyebrows at her. She shoved his shoulder playfully as she groaned. Under normal circumstances, she’d have made a joke in return, but right now there were more pressing matters. “Jacke, I need your help. I’m in a spot of trouble,” she whispered to him once he’d stopped laughing. He seemed to sober up enough at that, nodding and grabbing her lightly by the arm. He guided her into a side room, as close to an office as the man had. He shut and locked the door behind them, indicating for her to have a seat. “So what’s got you runnin’ back ‘ere to ol’Jacke for help? Ye was always one to ‘elp yerself as I recall. Gave ye that pair o’fine stabbers and off ye went.” Jacke has never quite let go of her leaving the Rogue’s guild to run off to the Far East. He liked the shinobi well enough; even learned a thing or two himself from them. She had been his favorite for quite some time, in a number of ways, and he was sorry to see her leave. “One of my contacts has been missing for days Jacke. They aren’t like that, one of my most dependable in fact. Had some vital information about my next target they’d wanted to tell me in person. Then last night some creep followed me down to the wharf. Had to kill him before I could get anything out of him. The body fell into the water, so it’s either gone out with the tide or the guard found him. The only thing he said was that someone was hunting me. Not sure if I should be terrified or flattered,” she chuckled, trying to cover the worry in her tone. Jacke sat across from her, mulling over the information she’d provided. He leaned back in his chair and scratched his chin. Phoebe arched an eyebrow in his direction as time seemed to come to a halt. She cleared her throat, bringing Jacke back to the present. He beamed at her, a sign that nothing good could come from this conversation. “I ever tell ye about my favorite stabbers? Sharp as can be, inlaid with gold and emerald in the hilts. Right beauts they were… til I made a fool of meself an’ lost ‘em in a bet to Captain Rhoswen. She’s been a right witch about it ever since. I dinna think I’d ever hear of ‘em again. Well, one of me boys was beddin’ a Sanguine Siren the other day. Told him where she keeps my lovely stabbers locked in a safe. Now, if someone were to recover those for me, I may be willin’ to owe ‘em a favor of sorts,” he made his terms quite clear to her. Always one to want his back scratched before helping someone else… he never changed. “Fine. Where is this safe then?” she asked, pursing her lips to express her annoyance. “Ahha! You’re the best for the job. Now, the safe is in the cellar of the Missing Member. You’ll need your lockpicking kit I gave ye. Still got it, yeah?” Phoebe nodded her head. It was with her all the time practically. She listened to the rest of the instructions and Jacke started to ramble in his inebriation. She held a hand out to him, letting him
know she had enough to go off of and was ready to set out. “I need to get this over with, if I take too long that only gives this Hunter more time,” she quipped, closing the door behind her. Back on the docks, she pulled her hood into place. She scanned the area for anything suspicious but there was no one to be seen. She'd need to wait until it was dark out if she wanted her best chance at getting in unseen. She’d need to figure out how she could drop two stories below the main floor of the Missing Member without being seen. She’d need to cause a distraction most likely. Then when everyone was busy, she’d have to climb the roof and drop down the back of the building before anyone saw her. It would be tight but if anyone could do it, it would be her. First things first…. She needed to find a rat.
———————————————————————
One angry squeaking box later, Phoebe climbed up the stairs to the Upper Decks and made her way over to the Missing Member eatery. The rat she’d managed to catch would be good and angry by the time she’d release it into the front door of the restaurant. She casually walked across the main courtyard, and over the bridge to the doorway. Luckily there were only a few guests standing outside that were too busy talking to even notice her. She cracked open the door, sliding the box in on its side to allow the creature to escape. She stood off to the side as far as she could and waited.
It didn’t take long until a few screaming guests charge out the door, followed by screams from the inside. The few people who had been waiting decided it would be better to make themselves scarce. It was the perfect time for her to move. Phoebe nimbly climbed up to the rooftop, grasping onto the spire as she secured a rope from her pack around it. Lowering herself over the edge, she repelled her way down the sheer side of the white wall. She chuckled as she neared the window of the kitchen, yelling and cursing could still be heard from within as they chased the rat around. It worked better than she’d hoped.
Down two more stories, she found the small window Jacke had described to her earlier. He’d need to consider himself lucky if Phoebe was able to clear the frame with how small it appeared. Using a small glass-breaking tool, she cleared out one of the panes and flipped the lock. She pushed the frame open and stuck her head inside to make sure no one else was around. It was dark inside, the only light was the small beam of moonlight falling through the window.
Phoebe squeezed through the opening, only slightly panicking as her hips stuck for a mere second. It certainly wasn't a place frequented by people, as she noted the thick coating of dust on most of the items stashed away. Old paintings stacked across one side of the room, several locked trunks, and a large safe took up most of the small space. A ladder on the far side of the room most likely led to a trap door up to the next floor.
The safe would be simple enough for her to open. It had a classic style lock, instead of the fancy combination locks many of the nobles had in the wealthier cities. Phoebe removed her lockpicking tools, rolling the case out on the floor so she could select the right ones. Her hands worked quickly, one long ear pressed closely to the safe to listen carefully to each successful click. She deftly tested each tumbler and slid in the torque pick to prevent them from falling back in place. As she heard the last tumbler fall into place, she pulled the crank handle open on the safe... and an alarm sounded from the chest. How the hells had they rigged that up?
Phoebe rifled through the safe as quickly as she could. There were a number of small treasures in the safe, and Phoebe's fingers itched to pocket more than she needed. There was no time now thanks to the pounding of running feet on the floorboards above. The daggers were in a small box on the bottom shelf, and she shoved the beautiful knives into her pocket inside her coat. She couldn't resist grabbing a lovely ruby hairpin that sat in the very back corner as a reward for herself. The pirates above were now fighting to get the trap door open, as the lock seemed to have rusted shut.
Phoebe shimmied out the window and scaled the wall as fast as she could. As her coattails disappeared over the roof, a very angry Captain Rhoswen was shouting obscenities out the broken window below. By the time the captain had made it to the main floor, Phoebe was long gone.
Phoebe dropped the daggers on the table with a loud clang. Jacke had been asleep, chin on his chest and feet propped on the table. The noise made him jump and he unsheathed his knives as he cursed.
"Settle down, you ol' fool," Phoebe grumbled, "There are your stabbers back. I hope you have some information that was worth my time getting those."
"Aye, that I do. Found out sumthin' while you was out. Your contact is dead, strung up in a tree jus' outside Ul'dah. Might want to make yer way there. Body was taken by the Flames for inspection."
Phoebe sighed, "Thanks Jacke, I better go catch the last airship for the night. And watch out for Rhoswen, she's going to be spittin' fire."
"Thanks lass I... wait what do you mean?! Phoebe wait!" she closed the door behind her with a wicked smile as Jacke called after her. She had an airship to catch and no time to waste.

A Person Who Has Never Played MCSM Writes A Story About MCSM Chp. 16
He should be at the shrine right now.
Leaving the shrine again without telling anyone will make the Visions furious, especially after what happened last time, but Jesse needed to see her. He needed to know if she was there. If she was alive.
He managed to claw his way to the top of his old home, his hands were aching, and healing skin had been torn, but he didn’t have time to pity himself. He didn’t give a damn about himself, about anything, all that mattered was Olivia.
Jesse thought he’d never see the day where he was excited to be here again, but the thought of seeing Olivia--holding her in his arms--it excited him.
And if she was alive, then Lukas could be too! They can all be together, they can all live in the shrine, far far away from Aiden and the others, and they can be happy again. They can be together.
The roof used to be Jesse’s favorite place to go to whenever he was stressed. He could lean over the fence, look over the town’s rooftops, watch the clouds roll by, and forget his worries. Lukas would often join him. He’d write his stories, they’d go back and forth sharing ideas, then he’d get to hear Lukas read their story out loud.
Jesse approached the trapdoor leading to the attic. It’s always had an awful lock, which used to be a pain, but now? It was a blessing. Jesse was able to open the door with ease and make his way inside. The ladder was covered in dust and cobwebs. This place hasn’t been visited in years, he bet.
Jesse quietly closed the trapdoor as he descended the ladder; he thought about how much Lukas would love the shrine. The interior, the garden, the gatherings, he could get so much inspiration. And Olivia! She’d love the Awakening’s appreciation for redstone dust. They understood it’s value as much as her, maybe they’d even let her use some of it for her inventions! They could make so many gadgets again, it’ll be fun.
Jesse navigated through the cluttered attic, being careful not to knock anything over as he passed through boxes filled with items he used to treasure. Scrapbooks, letters, handcrafted weapons, and other old, random items that he and his old friends collected throughout their adventures. Strange looking rocks, flowers that were withered beyond recognition, pieces of relics, whatever caught their attention back then. It was amusing at the time, but now they’re all worthless to him. Junk.
For a moment, Jesse thought about searching through the boxes and taking memories of Lukas and Olivia back to the shrine with him, but that’d cause a ruckus. Besides, they’ll make plenty of new memories once they’re reunited.
‘What if she’s not here?’ A voice in Jesse’s mind asked. He shook his head.
She has to be here. Aiden was so scared when he slipped up. There was no way he could’ve been lying. Olivia has to be here.
He will find her.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Stella paced around the room.
“I locked the backdoor, I locked all the windows on the first floor,” Stella said to herself, “Maya told me she’d block her windows, and I made sure to lock the guest’s rooms windows, and--well, our windows can’t be open, but maybe we should board them up?” Stella’s steps quickened.
Their room had two windows. The one closest to Gill was covered by a bookshelf, but the other was unprotected. They had a desk, Stella’s dresser, chairs, and a beanbag. They could possibly stack furniture up to block the window, but what if a quake suddenly happened? What if someone slams the door too hard? Stella’s bed is closest to the door, what if the whole thing comes tumbling down on her? What if it crushes someone?
Gill watched Stella from his bed. She’s been pacing for nearly half an hour.
“I had to lock the windows in Aiden and Cassie’s room and the door to their balcony because Cassie’s gone and Aiden--!” She rushed over to the window and pulled the curtains away. She pressed her face against the glass, “For some reason he left with Olivia and Jess despite the fact that OUR Jesse is running loose through the streets! Does he WANT them to get killed?!”
“I’m sure he’s got a good reason.” Gill said, trying to reassure Stella.
“I heard the door opening, I heard their voices, why didn’t I do anything to stop them? I’m not making anything better--”
“It’ll be okay! I bet they’ll be comin’ home soon.”
“But what if they don’t? What if they get caught, or hurt, or wind up missing, or dead in a ditch?” Her heart was beating faster. If something happened to them, she’d never forgive herself. But they’re adults, they’ll be fine! They can handle themselves! But what if they’re caught off guard? What if something unexpected happens? It’s late, anything could happen. But--but Aiden’s a great fighter, he’s used to--he can--
Stella hurried to her dresser. She pulled open a drawer and took out the first clean top she saw.
“I’m going after them. We need to find them.” She grabbed a bundle of arrows.
“Hey, hey now hold on a moment!” Gill exclaimed, getting off his bed.
“I’m just afraid of--Eep!” Stella turned and immediately jumped back. Her arrows fell, scattering over the floor. She wasn’t expecting Gill to be behind her, she didn’t even hear him approach.
Stella started picking up the arrows.
“Sorry, sorry, didn’t mean t’scare ya!” Gill knelt down and grabbed a couple of arrows.
“I know you’re real nervous ‘bout everythin’... ‘N I am too, but Aiden’ll be okay!” Gill wasn’t sure if he even believed himself. Who knows what Aiden’s doing right now. Aiden probably wanted to do something nice for Jess and Liv, but his train of thought was probably all over the place, especially with Jess around… But Gill didn’t want to make Stella panic more.
Gill handed Stella the arrows, “Maybe we just need to think ‘bout it. What’s the worst case scenario?”
“They could be killed.” Stella answered. “They could be taken and we’d never know where.”
“Right, and what’s th’best case scenario?” Gill asked. He got a bewildered look from Stella.
“The best…?” Stella’s mouth hung open, “I suppose they’d come back home in one piece. Unharmed.”
“Yeah, maybe they even picked up one of those scones ya like at that cafe.” Gill smiled.
“At 12 PM?” Stella looked back at him.
“I’m--Well, ya know,” Gill got a li’l red, “just thinkin’ of the very best case.”
Stella let out a chuckle.
“What ‘bout the realistic scenario? Ya know, what’ll probably happen.”
‘They’ll get hurt.’ Is what Stella wanted to blurt out, but she didn’t. She took a deep breath, holding it in before finally exhaling. The most likely scenario…
“Aiden, Jess, and Olivia will probably come home later,” Stella started, carefully placing the arrows on the dresser, “Aiden will go to bed, Jess and Olivia will be wide awake, and when we wake up we’ll figure out how to deal with this situation.”
“Right, that’s what I was thinkin’.” Gill nodded, “I know ya want ‘em to be safe, ain’t nothin’ wrong with that, I just don’t wantcha worryin’ yourself sick. After what’s been goin’ on, we all need some good sleep.”
Stella kept staring at the top of her dresser as Gill made his way back to bed. He was right. They’ve been running around nonstop, she needs to take it slow.
Stella placed the top back into the drawer. If she wants to be prepared for what tomorrow brings, she needs to be well rested.
Stella went to her bed and laid down, sinking slightly into the mattress. She glanced at Gill, who was looking real cozy buried under his blanket. He peeked at her and gave her a smile.
“Sleep well!”
“You as well,” Stella said, getting under her blanket, “and thank you. I mean it.”
Gill hugged his pillow, “Course, anytime.”
Stella slowly closed her eyes, telling herself that everything will be okay. Aiden will come over, Jess and Olivia will be in one piece. They’ll be okay. They’ll come home, sleep, and things will be okay.
It’ll all be okay.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Stella woke up, but she kept her eyes shut.
She’s woken up midday when she was stressed before. This isn’t anything new.
She forgot to close her curtains too; she didn’t want to be blinded by the Sun.
She was sweating.
She felt disgusting.
Her whole body felt stiff and sore, and the longer she stayed awake, the worse it got.
Her stomach was hurting. It was getting hard to breathe.
She tried to take a lungful of air, but she couldn’t.
Stella tried to turn to her side. But she couldn’t.
She couldn’t move.
Something was on top of her.
Stella opened her eyes. She was about to scream until Jesse slapped his hands over her mouth.
Jesse sat atop of her, staring down with bloodshot eyes. He looked like he had just been crying.
“If you scream…” Jesse whispered, “I’ll kill you.”
His fingers dug into her face. His hands smelt like rust.
Stella’s eyes darted around the room. Her breaths quickened when she saw their bedroom door was wide open. Why? Why didn’t they lock it?
Stella shot her hands out and grabbed onto Jesse’s arms, trying to pull them away, but he wouldn’t budge.
Jesse’s nails dug into her face, “Stop it--Stop it! Don’t make this harder for both of us.”
Jesse looked to the side. Gill was still asleep. The last thing he needed was Gill making things more difficult.
“I just want you to answer some questions, can you do that for me?” Jesse asked, his thumb caressing the skin below Stella’s eye.
“You can answer, I can leave, and then we can pretend that this was all some bad dream. How does that sound?”
Stella wasn’t fighting.
Carefully, Jesse took his hands away from her mouth, expecting Stella to give quick, quiet replies, ready to get this terrible exchange over with…
But Stella tried to scream again.
Jesse grabbed her throat, silencing her. He shook and choked her until her mouth shut. Until he was certain she wouldn’t try that again.
“Don’t be stupid--don’t--I know you’re not this dumb!” He spoke through his teeth. He quickly looked at Gill again before looking back at her.
“Just listen and answer. That’s all I want you to do.” His grip loosened.
“I’d rather rot than--!” Stella was cut off when Jesse’s clutch tightened once more. She can’t let him do this. She needs to at least try.
Stella tried to thrash around under Jesse’s weight. She tried to throw off his balance, wriggle free, but she was getting weaker each second. The world was starting to blur; her vision spotting and ears ringing.
“They’ll all find you dead on this damn bed. All because you can’t listen.”
‘Lie to him.’ A voice in the back of Stella’s head said. She didn’t have time to argue with herself. She looked at Jesse and mouthed the word ‘Okay’.
Jesse stopped. He didn’t let go, but he stopped.
Stella’s heart was pounding. She wondered if Jesse could feel it.
“There we go. Now then...” Jesse said quietly, his fingers pattering the side of her neck. There was a strange, fixated look in his eyes.
Jesse brought his eyes back to her’s.
“Where’s Olivia?”
Stella froze.
She needs to speak slowly.
“Why in the world do you think we—“ Stella couldn’t get another word out before Jesse slammed her head down. He was treating her no better than a rag doll.
“Don’t you lie—don’t you DARE lie to me!” His voice shook, “You have her, I know you do. She wasn’t in her room. Where is she?”
“We don’t have her! You...” Stella swallowed and gave him a broken look. “Jesse, we both saw her in that ravine. She’s gone.”
Jesse was silent for a moment as he stared down on her.
“We looked down there for hours.” Jesse slowly spoke,  “We wanted to find her hat. I wanted—I wanted every last part of her. I had to. I kept looking. Even after we found her, even after her funeral, even after all of you had given up. I did everything I could to find that last memory of her…”
“So why… Why did YOU find it? You don’t… You don’t deserve it. You didn’t—I was—I was the one who—” His voice was cracking.
Stella watched as Jesse barely kept himself together. He trembled, blinking back tears while his heavy breaths wavered. For the first time in so long, Stella felt sympathy for him.
“I know.” Stella whispered, “And I’m so sorry. We don’t have her, and I don’t have her hat. I wish I did, but—“
“That’s not what Aiden said.” Jesse said.
Stella’s eyes widened.
Seeing her reaction, a small, sick smile started to form on Jesse’s face.
“I knew it.” He grinned. He leaned down, getting close to Stella’s face.
“You can’t hide my own friends from me.” His breath was hitting her skin. “So I’m going to ask you one more time: Where. Is. She—”
A loud, low creek interrupted Jesse.
Stella and Jesse turned, and there stood Gill, frozen midstep. He glanced at Jesse, to his feet, then back at Jesse.
“Ah, ya weren’t… Ya weren't supposed t’look over.”
Before Jesse could react, Gill came charging at him and slugged him right in the gut. Jesse went flying off of Stella and hit the dresser, creating a large crack down the middle. Arrows and clothes flew.
“I got Jesse! Go get Maya!” Gill hollered.
Stella ran out of the room shouting Maya’s name.
Jesse got up and sprinted to the window, but stopped and cussed when he saw there was no way to open it. He could slip through door and leave the way he came—
Gill suddenly rammed Jesse into the window; Jesse’s head collided with and cracked the glass. He grabbed Jesse around the waist, fingers digging painfully into his skin.
Jesse faced Gill and started hitting and clawing at him.
“Let go, let go NOW!” He shouted. Despite being hit several times, Gill wasn’t budging. He was squeezing his eyes shut and taking whatever Jesse was giving.
“Ya can’t run this time! Ya got nowhere to go!”
“I was gonna leave but then YOU came and ruined everything! That’s all you do—that’s all you’re good for! Getting in the way!” Jesse’s words only made Gill’s grip stronger.
Jesse could hear Maya’s voice now—and the front door was opening. No, no, this is the last thing he needs. He managed to get a leg free and started kicking at Gill’s face, getting more desperate by the second.
Gill’s nose was crooked and bleeding, he could feel bruises form, and he knew he was gonna get a black eye, but that didn’t matter.
“Jesse, ya can go to prison, or ya can stay with us—“
“I’d rather DIE.” Jesse spat.
Through all the noise, Jesse could make out Aiden’s voice. He was coming closer. The others will be coming too. What if they manipulate Olivia? What if they make her hate him too? What if they take her away?
Tears were welling up in Jesse’s eyes, but then he saw it. In the corner of his eye. An arrow.
Jesse held Gill back with one arm and reached for the arrow. Once it was in his grasp, he raised it high into the air, rolling his eyes back till the whites remained, and prayed to the Hero to give him a fatal blow before bringing the arrow down to Gill’s face.
Gill gasped and moved. The arrow barely missed his face and was plunged deep into his shoulder. He let out a cry and tried to tear it out, giving Jesse enough time to escape Gill.
Footsteps were coming closer, Gill was shouting for his friends, and Jesse could hear Aiden calling his name. He won’t make it to the attic in time.
Jesse rammed his elbow against the cracked window. He kept hitting and hitting until it finally shattered. He took one last glance behind him--catching a glimpse of Aiden--before jumping out.
He squeezed his eyes shut and covered his head while midair. He hit the ground with a loud thud. His body was aching and there was glass in his arm, but he had to go. He needs to leave.
Jesse pushed himself up. The whole world was spinning.
He looked back at that vile house one last time, and as he started running, he saw the front door was still wide open.
He kept running, and that’s when he saw it.
Saw her.
Through the door, there she stood.
It was only a glance. A small, little glance, but that’s all he needed.
As Jesse ran further and further from the house, a smile returned to his face. It grew wider and wider until he was grinning ear to ear. His pain and worries disappeared as he hugged himself so, so tightly.
He could hardly contain himself. He can’t remember when he’s been this happy.
A few chuckles escaped his lips, then he let out a wonderful, joyous laughter as he pranced through the town.
He laughed, and laughed, and laughed.
He laughed when he left that horrid town.
He laughed as he sprinted across the field.
And he kept laughing when he entered the shrine.
Yes, oh yes, it’s all so wonderful.
She’s alive.

25 Days of BeChloe Christmases - 2020
Day 4 - (Not a) Fire and Rescue
Prompt from FanFiction User Smart Owl: Firefighter AU: I went a little bit off prompt; I hope you like what I did with it.
NOTE: See the end for the full prompt.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Beca Mitchell swallowed hard as she stared down at the street six floors below.
"Damn cat," Beca muttered, looking to her right to see the gray bundle of fur sitting on the ledge, staring at her. "Lexie, get back in here!"
The cat stared back at Beca before standing and following the ledge around the corner of the building.
Beca jerked her head back, smacking it against the open window.
"Fuck!" Beca cried out, rubbing the back of her head.
Beca hurried away from the window and went to her bedroom to see if she could see where Lexie went.
Lexie was sitting outside the bedroom window looking in at Beca. Beca moved slowly to the window and opened it.
"Come on, Lexie," Beca said. "I have treats, but you have to come back inside to get them."
Lexie's ears and tail twitched. She turned and started walking along the ledge, back toward the front of the building. Without thinking, Beca climbed out onto the ledge; immediately realizing it was a mistake.
She closed her eyes and chanted, "Don't look down. Don't look down."
She felt something touch her face and jerked her head back and opened her eyes. Lexie sat in front of her, staring at her with their noses just inches apart. Beca was startled when Lexie jumped onto her back. Beca could feel her walking down her back and suddenly she wasn't there. When Beca looked back, she saw that Lexie had jumped back inside the apartment.
"At least one of us is safe," Beca muttered as she thought of her next move.
A sudden gust of wind blew, causing Beca to panic slightly. She scooted forward and wedged herself into the corner with her back to the wall.
~~ Day 4 of the 25 Days of BeChloe Christmases - 2020 ~~
Beca managed to get her phone out of her pocket without dropping it. She placed the call.
"9-1-1, what's your emergency?" The 911 operator said.
"Um, yeah," Beca said. "I need a fire truck with a long-assed ladder that can reach the sixth floor of an apartment building."
"What's the address?" the 911 operator asked
"1960 Pine Street."
"Is there a fire?" the 911 operator asked. "Are you trapped in your apartment?"
"No," Beca replied. "I'm outside my apartment on the ledge, six stories up and I'm having a slight panic attack."
"Stay calm," the operator said. "I'm sending fire and rescue to you, right away."
A few blocks away, Engine Co. 27's alarm blared.
"Engine 27! Rescue 27! Please respond to 1960 Pine Street. We have a possible jumper on the sixth-floor ledge of her building, requesting emergency assistance."
"Let's go, Beale, Swanson," Captain Smith called out. "We have a possible jumper."
"Why do so many people want to commit suicide just before Christmas," firefighter Chloe Beale muttered to no one in particular as she climbed into the engine truck.
"I guess they feel hopeless and alone during the holidays," Jesse Swanson, Chloe's fellow firefighter, said. "Depression during the holidays is the number one reason for most suicide attempts this time of year."
Chloe didn't say anything as she tightened her jacket and pulled the head covering over her red hair. She then placed her helmet on her head, slapping down the face shield.
"Beale, when we get there, I want you to go up the ladder and try and talk this woman down," Captain Smith said.
"Roger that, Captain," Chloe said.
"Swanson, you and Walp will go up to the apartment to make entry," the Captain said. "Wait for Beale's command so you don't scare the poor woman into falling off the ledge."
"Yes, sir," Jesse and Chicago responded.
"Okay, guys," Chloe said. "I'll assess her anxiety level and try to get her to come down the ladder. If I can't, I'll grab her and give you the okay to enter the apartment. You guys can take her back in through the window, okay?"
"Got it," Jesse said.
"I'll be ready," Chicago said.
The engine pulled up to the apartment building and Benji jumped out of the driver's seat to secure the truck and engage the stabilizers.
Chloe, Jesse, and Chicago jumped out as well. They all looked up, using their hands to shield their eyes from the sun.
"Where is she?" Jesse asked.
"There," Chloe called out pointing to a corner where Beca still sat, trying to remain still.
"Captain, can you check with dispatch to see what the apartment number is?"
Captain Smith spoke into his radio and then called out to Jesse. "Swanson, it's apartment 6C."
Jesse and Chicago ran into the building as Benji called out, "Chloe, the ladder's up."
"Thanks, Benj," Chloe said as she climbed up to the base of the ladder where Benji clipped a safety harness around Chloe's waist. Once the harness was secured, Benji gave her the go-ahead and Chloe slowly started up the ladder.
~~ Day 4 of the 25 Days of BeChloe Christmases - 2020 ~~
Beca sat trying not to watch the activity below her. She tried to get her breathing under control as she heard one of the firefighters making their way up the ladder.
The firefighter stopped slightly below Beca and connected her safety harness to the rung of the ladder in front of her. Beca carefully watched every move the firefighter made.
Beca kept her eyes on the firefighter and wouldn't look anywhere else. Beca could barely make out what the firefighter looked like with the hoodie covering half her face and the helmet shading the rest. To be honest, what she could see of her, she liked.
"Wow, she's kind of hot," Beca thought. "Now is not the time, Mitchell."
"Hey," Chloe said, looking directly at Beca. "How are you doing?"
Beca didn't say anything; she just closed her eyes and concentrated on her breathing.
"Want to talk about it?" Chloe asked, causing Beca's eyes to fly open and look at Chloe.
"Talk about what exactly?" Beca asked.
"I know the holidays can be a tough time," Chloe said. "But, this isn't the answer. Think of all the people who will miss you."
"What?" Beca asked. Her eyes grew wide as she asked. "Wait! You thought I was going to jump?"
"You're not? But, the dispatcher said the call was for a possible jumper."
"I'm not-" Beca stammered out. "I didn't -. That's not what I said."
Chloe quietly spoke into the helmet's mic. "Did you hear that Jesse? She's not a jumper. I repeat, not a jumper. I'll take it from here."
Chloe nodded her head slightly when she heard Jesse in her ear saying, "Roger that, Chloe. We'll meet you on the ground."
Chloe squinted one eye at Beca. "So, would you like to tell me exactly why you're sitting out here on the ledge, six stories up?"
"First, just let me say, I did not come out here to jump," Beca said. "I want to make sure that's clear."
"Got it," Chloe said. "Not out here to jump. So, why are you out here?"
"I opened a window and my cat got out. She was walking around on the ledge like she was walking through a park or something. I thought I could come out and persuade her back inside. Barring that, I thought I'd just grab her and take her back inside whether she liked it or not. I thought wrong on both counts. But, I was also right, because Lexie is safely inside and I'm the one who's actually stuck out here."
Beca took a deep breath and let it out. "And I might be panicking just a little."
Chloe held back a chuckle, but couldn't hold back her smile.
"God, she's adorable," Chloe thought.
"Want to come with me?" Chloe asked. "I can get you back on solid ground."
"Are we going to climb back through the window?" Beca asked. "Because I don't think I can do that."
"We'll go down the ladder," Chloe said. "That way I'll be able to support and protect you on the way down."
Beca made the mistake of looking down. She gasped and slammed her eyes shut.
"Don't look down," Chloe warned.
"I got that," Beca snapped, eyes still closed. She slowly opened her eyes and looked at Chloe. "Can you move a little closer?"
Chloe looked at Beca and disconnected her safety harness so she could move to where she was three rungs below Beca and even with her body; she reconnected the harness and situated herself so she could grab Beca easily.
"Give me your hand," Chloe said, reaching for Beca's hand that was closest to her. "I'm going to help you get your feet on the ladder."
Beca hesitantly moved her hand and Chloe grabbed it; she used her free to grab Beca around the waist.
"Put your arms around my neck," Chloe said.
Beca did as she was told and Chloe lifted Beca off the ledge. Beca squealed and squeezed Chloe tighter, wrapping her legs around Chloe's torso.
"Are you okay?" Chloe asked, maintaining her hold around Beca's waist.
"I, I think so," Beca said.
"Good," Chloe said, smirking. "I don't think I've ever said this to a beautiful girl before, but I need you to unwrap your legs from around me."
Beca scoffed and Chloe smirked. "Okay, how about you just unwrap one leg and slide your foot down to the rung just above where I am standing."
"I'm kind of scared," Beca said.
"I know," Chloe said. "But you don't need to worry. I've got you and I will not let you fall."
"You promise?" Beca asked, looking into Chloe's eyes.
"I promise," Chloe said, staring back into Beca's eyes.
"You have pretty eyes," Beca said softly, thinking Chloe wouldn't hear her.
"Thank you," Chloe said. "So do you."
Beca blushed as Chloe said, "You ready to get down from here?"
"As ready as I'll ever be," Beca said.
Chloe placed one hand on Beca's leg and slid it from around her waist. Beca then moved her leg and slid it down Chloe's body until her foot found the ladder rung.
"There you go," Chloe said. "Now, let's do the other leg."
Beca moved her other leg and was now standing with her arms around Chloe's shoulders and both feet firmly on the ladder. Chloe continued to hold Beca around the waist.
Once Beca was stable, Chloe transferred the safety harness to Beca's waist and held onto it as they slowly made their way down the ladder.
Hands were grabbing at Beca as they got to the lower rungs. Beca was helped down and Chloe followed her off the rig.
Beca started to walk away only to find Chloe was still holding her by the safety harness.
"Oh," Beca said. "Sorry."
"Don't worry about it," Chloe said as she put her arms around Beca to unhook the harness.
Beca's breath hitched when Chloe's hand accidentally grazed her ass.
"Would it weird you out if I asked you out to dinner?" Chloe asked Beca as she finished removing the harness.
Just then radios started blaring with another emergency call.
"Come on, Beale," Captain Smith yelled. "Duty calls."
Chloe turned to Beca and said, "I'm sorry, but I have to go." Chloe turned away from Beca and called out, "Coming Captain."
Chloe ran to the truck, taking one last look back at Beca before climbing inside.
"I'd love to have dinner with you," Beca whispered as the engine drove off.
~~ Day 4 of the 25 Days of BeChloe Christmases - 2020 ~~
"Are you okay, Beca?" Stacie, Beca's best friend, asked after Beca finished telling her about her encounter with the hot firefighter.
"I'm fine, Stacie," Beca said. "But this firefighter was really pretty. Gorgeous actually."
"Why didn't you ask her out?" Stacie asked.
"She actually asked me," Beca said. "But, they had another call and I never got a chance to answer her."
"Can't you go to the station and find her?" Stacie asked.
"I don't even know her name," Beca said. "Wait, I think her Captain called her Beale or something like that. But I don't have a first name."
"You can still go to the station and ask for Beale," Stacie said. "They usually call each other by their last names. I'm sure someone will know who you mean."
"That's kind of stalkerish, isn't it?" Beca asked.
"Maybe," Stacie said. "But at least you'd get to answer her question about a date."
"I don't know," Beca said. "It's been a few days. I wouldn't know what to say."
"When you see her, walk up to her and kiss her, then just say yes," Stacie said. "Then when she says 'Yes, what?' tell her yes, you'd love to go out with her and have her babies."
"Stacie," Beca whined. "That's not helping. There's got to be a better way."
"I know," Stacie said. "When you find her, ask her to come with you to our Christmas Dinner. I'm sure Brey won't mind if you bring a date."
"I don't think that's a good idea," Beca said. "This girl is special and I don't want you or your girlfriend scaring her off."
"We'll be on our best behavior," Stacie said. "I promise."
"Let me think about it," Beca said.
"That's all I can ask," Stacie said.
"Okay, I gotta go," Beca said. "Ask Aubrey if I can bring anything to dinner and let me know."
"I will," Stacie said. "Talk to you later, Beca."
~~ Day 4 of the 25 Days of BeChloe Christmases - 2020 ~~
"Come on, Beale," Jesse said. "You know where she lives, just go see her."
"And do what?" Chloe asked, putting her head in her hands.
"Ask her out," Jesse said.
"I already did that," Chloe said, looking down at the table. "She didn't answer me."
"Because we got a call and you had to leave," Jesse said.
"Or maybe it was because she didn't know how to let me down easy," Chloe said.
"I thought you were so confident about all that." Jesse used his hand to wave up and down Chloe's body.
"I am," Chloe said. "But, you saw her. She's gorgeous and lives in a swanky apartment building. And I'm just. . .me."
"That doesn't sound like the confident Chloe Beale we all know and love," Jesse said.
"Hey, guys," Benji said, sitting down at the table next to Chloe. "I just noticed that we all have Christmas Day off and was wondering if you had any plans?"
"I'm driving to my brother's place to spend Christmas with him and his family," Jesse said.
"Unless your idea of plans is cleaning my apartment and doing laundry, I have no plans," Chloe said. "Why? What's up?"
"I just got off the phone with my cousin and she invited me to her place for Christmas dinner," Benji said. "She said I could bring a friend or two from the firehouse. Would you like to go?"
"Um, sure," Chloe said. "A nice hot meal, a few drinks, and some company on Christmas? Sounds like a perfect evening to me."
"You could have that," Jesse said. "If you'd just go ask the girl out."
"What girl?" Benji asked.
"The 'not a jumper' girl from last week," Jesse said and grabbed his arm. "Ow! What was that for?"
"Keep talking and I'll punch you again," Chloe said, looking at Jesse.
"Okay, I'll stop," Jesse said. "But I still think you should ask her."
Chloe raised her fist and Jesse darted away. Benji laughed and turned to Chloe.
"I'll let Aubrey know you're coming with me," Benji said.
"Should I bring something?" Chloe asked.
"I was told no when I asked," Benji said.
"Great," Chloe said, smiling. "I'm looking forward to it."
~~ Day 4 of the 25 Days of BeChloe Christmases - 2020 ~~
It was mid-morning on Christmas and Chloe was on the phone, thanking her parents for the gifts they had sent her.
"So, what are you doing for the rest of your day?" Mrs. Beale asked.
"I really need to take some time and do laundry," Chloe said. "And give my place a good cleaning. Tonight I'm going with Benji to his cousin's house for dinner."
"Benji?" Mrs. Beale said. "He's one of your firefighter friends, right?"
"That's right, mom," Chloe said.
Chloe heard some noise in the background.
"I have to go," Mrs. Beale said. "Your grandparents are here."
"Give everyone my love," Chloe said. "And tell them I said Merry Christmas."
"I will dear," Mrs. Beale said. "We love you and Merry Christmas."
"I love you, too," Chloe said. "Bye, mom."
Chloe ended the call and threw her phone on the table. She grabbed up her dirty clothes and took the basket to her laundry room, thankful to have a washer and dryer in her apartment. If she had to drag her dirty clothes to a laundromat or anywhere, she'd never have anything clean to wear.
By the time Chloe finished her laundry and cleaned her apartment, it was time for her to get ready for the dinner party. She took a quick shower and got dressed. As she finished her makeup, there was a knock at the door.
Chloe opened her apartment door to find Benji standing there.
"You look nice," Benji told Chloe. "Are you ready to go?"
"Thank you," Chloe said. "I'm ready."
The two left and Benji opened the car door for Chloe.
"Thank you," Chloe said as Benji closed the car door.
On the ride to Aubrey and Stacie's, Benji told Chloe a little bit about them. The drive was only fifteen minutes and Benji pulled to the curb in front of a modest, heavily decorated two-story house.
"I see they go all out on the decorations," Chloe said looking around.
"Stacie is really big on Christmas," Benji said. "I think Aubrey just goes along with it because it makes Stacie happy."
"Aubrey sounds like a wise woman," Chloe said, laughing.
Benji and Chloe got out of the car and walked up to the front door. Benji knocked and the door was opened by two very attractive women. Chloe couldn't help but look them up and down.
"Benji!" the blonde said. "I'm glad you could make it."
"Aubrey, Stacie," Benji said. "I'd like you to meet my friend Chloe Beale."
Stacie gasped and looked at Chloe. "Did he say your last name was Beale?"
"Yes, that's right."
"You wouldn't happen to be a firefighter by any chance?"
"I am. I'm at Station 27 with Benji," Chloe said. "Why? Is something wrong?"
"Come in, come in," Stacie said.
Chloe looked at Benji with a raised eyebrow; Benji just shrugged as they both entered the house.
Stacie immediately takes Chloe's arm to stop her. "I know I just met you, but I've got a Christmas present for you."
"I'm sorry," Chloe said. "What?"
"Just come with me," Stacie said. "If my hunch is right, you and I are going to make someone's night."
Chloe let Stacie lead her further into the house, confused at what was happening.
"Beca!" Stacie called out, causing Beca to turn toward her.
Chloe's eyes widened as she caught sight of Beca. Beca's eyes widened as she caught sight of Chloe.
"Oh, my God!"
"It's you!"
"Merry Christmas," Stacie said and she gave Chloe a gentle shove toward Beca.
Chloe stopped a foot away from Beca and stared at her with a big smile on her face. Beca closed the distance between them and took Chloe's face in her hands and smashed their lips together.
Stacie stood back with a smug smile on her face.
"Wow!" Chloe whispered as Beca pulled back from the kiss.
"Merry Christmas, Beale," Beca said.
"Chloe," Chloe said. "My, um, my name is Chloe."
"Merry Christmas, Chloe," Beca said as she grabbed Chloe's lip in another kiss.

Luck (Peter Parker x Male Villain Reader)
my line breaks wont FUCKING WORK TUMBLR IS TRASH
Luck is a superpower, you can disagree (respectfully) in my asks. I don’t know how to write “villain” villains, especially for the reader, so you’ll notice that I tend to give the villains a motivation for their actions. They’re typically redeemable.
Requested by: anon since requests are open and i like your writing, id thought id request something. perhaps you can do a spidey x villian reader where the reader and peter are dating but dont know about the others alter ego?
Word count: 2265
Tumblr media
"Peter, where's the black pepper?"
"Top shelf!"
You opened the cabinet looking up at the black pepper just barely out of your reach. Even on your toes, your fingers barely brushed the wooden shelf. Turning quickly to check if Peter was still in his room, you extended your arm just a bit and managed to pluck the little container off of the shelf.
"Are you almost done with lunch? You know we have to go to the city today," Peter said, walking into the kitchen.
He was just pulling his sweater down when you turned to look at him, a smile on both your faces.
"Yeah, just salt and pepper for taste. You know how spices work, right?" you joked.
He laughed and hugged your middle from behind, pulling away to grab the plates from under you and bringing them to the table. He started eating right away, his plate always just a little more filled than yours.
"Even now I'm always surprised because I already eat a lot. I don't know where all of that goes," you commented, gesturing to his body.
"My ass," he mumbled through a bite.
You laughed around your own food as he shrugged. Once you both finished, you did your normal elevator vs. staircase race. You had the staircase this time, and you were alone. So if he didn't see you somehow hop down entire flights of stairs without any injury, all was well. You tried to lean against the wall like you had been waiting for him forever, and laughed when he blew a raspberry in your direction.
"Come on, we gotta catch the train," he urged.
He pulled you along until you got outside, both of you walking side by side to the station. The train ride always felt shorter with him, and he got off a stop or two earlier than you did every time. Even with your own extracurricular activities, you wondered if you would ever get to know what he did. You brushed it from your mind. If he knew what you got up to, he'd be upset. He was a huge supporter of the Avengers and similar "hero" figures, and even worked with and for them. You had to engage in crime just to get by. As you entered the building, you looked at the Avengers Tower a few blocks down. You turned away.
---
The sooner you got into your suit, the sooner you could join your companions in robbing the next bank. You knew whoever made the plans would get the most money, so you always planned things before anyone else could think of them. Without it, you wouldn't even be able to pay for groceries. Everyone else had a job, but you were younger and still in school, which made it much more difficult for you and they all understood. Despite the luck you knew you had, life was the one thing that could bring it down.
Just as you all left with bags, you stopped instantly at the sight of Spider-Man leaning against the wall awkwardly, much like you had done earlier that day. You almost laughed, but you had to leave with the money so you kept a straight face.
"So, uh... you guys ever think about the law? It's pretty cool sometimes," he said with an obviously faked confidence.
You pushed the bags towards your team and ushered them to move, swiftly moving towards Spider-Man. He darted to the side as you kicked toward him.
"Missed m- Oof!"
As he tried jumping for the ceiling, you grabbed the back of his suit and yanked him down, thanks to your luck. It left him winded for a few seconds.
"Sorry, dude. Just let me off this once," you said unapologetically.
He groaned as you ran back towards your team, two of them grabbing you into the moving van. The doors shut and you watched Spider-Man through the darkened window, just barely catching a glimpse of your vehicle as it sped away.
"Well, that was fast. Maybe you're right about your luck being a power," one of them snickered.
You hit her with a grumble, turning down to check your phone. A text from Peter said he needed snuggles, and you smiled a bit as you pulled your mask off.
"Is it that kid you're dating again?" she asked, pulling her own off.
"Yeah, drop me off in the area. Leave the money in the usual place and I'll come grab it," you said, beginning to pack your things.
"You got it."
"Thanks."
As you left the van, you waved at them, giving some of them a fist bump as you passed and hopped out of the van.
"I'll figure out our next location."
They waved back and you turned as the van doors shut. You went into the dark alley nearby to change, then walked the few blocks to Peter's apartment. Aunt May greeted you with a hug and a smile, then gestured you Peter who was curled up in a blanket in front of the TV, looking like he stayed up all night despite it only being nine at night.
"What's up?" you asked, sitting next to him and putting your arms around him.
"I feel like garbage and my body hurts," he mumbled into your shoulder.
"Exercising? Did you... fall down the stairs? Stand up after too many hours of playing video games?"
He snorted and pulled away for a bit, wrapping you in the blanket as well. You both laid down, and you took extra care to wrap your arms around his shoulders when he seemed to wince at the movement of his back.
"What exercise did you do?"
"No, I just... I decided to go to the playground with Ned cause there were no more kids there and my internship was done, so I was fooling around and climbing things but I fell on my back."
"Be a bit more careful next time?"
"Okay."
Aunt May was always nice enough to leave you food knowing when you didn't eat. You smiled at her as Peter moved closer to you when you pulled away to eat, and you both laughed fondly at his clingy behaviour. You left a few hours after that to get your money and go home.
---
After another afternoon of your antics, you had decided to run around on the rooftops for a bit. On one of the higher ones, you climbed the ladder quietly to find someone pacing on the edge. You almost reached out to tell them to step away when you realised who it was: Spider-Man himself.
"How does he always get away? And he beats me so quickly? It's like he has really good luck. That's so weird. That's not even a superpower, I think. Oh no, what if it is?!"
He paused as there was a response from his phone, and he sighed as if stressed as he yanked off his mask. You quickly covered your mouth in shock. How careless could any identity-hiding person be to pull their mask off when anyone in a building could look up and see him? At least your face was kind of covered. It was just your hood on and that lame mask that just covered the area around your eyes, but it was enough. His face was covered by his phone, but the messy brown hair made you a little sick when it reminded you of your boyfriend. You were only here because of your luck and your criminal actions. He was probably at his internship being a good, upstanding citizen.
"No, that can't be right. I'll check with Mr. Stark. He'll know."
"Hey."
He screeched and yelled a quick bye into his phone, making the horrible mistake of just shoving it in his pocket as he turned to look at you. Without his mask on.
"Put your mask on," you said, knowing it sounded a bit strangled, but you passed it off as just climbing over the small concrete wall that bordered the top of the building. "You should be more careful, you know?"
"You-you're that guy! I keep running into you! Who are you?"
"Well, that's the question everyone wants to know, huh?"
You walked over to him and plopped down next to him as he sat, his hands playing with his phone that was now back out. Peter did that when he was nervous, playing with anything in his hands. Once it was a book and he somehow managed to throw it and leave a small crack in the ceiling when someone scared him from behind.
"Tell me your secrets. What's got you so stressed about me?"
"What are your powers?" he blurted out.
How Peter of him to just ask right away.
"I'm lucky. Just not lucky in the rest of my life. I don't have enough money to pay rent and sometimes it's not even enough to buy groceries. I have to depend on other people and I don't want to do that. So I'm doing the best with what I can."
"Well, M- uh, Tony Stark has all kinds of internships and charities and stuff. I mean, I work with him so I would know. He could help! And he's always willing to help a superpowered person!"
"Spidey, things aren't that easy. I'm a criminal for a living and things like that don't just slide with most of the population. You tell them why you did it and you'll get consequences. My luck is the only thing keeping my team and myself safe."
"You could try! He doesn't judge and he's still friends with Captain America, who's currently a war criminal. Someone who's a thief isn't a huge problem to him."
"I don't take charity," you stated clearly.
"I mean it! He could really help," he replied.
"Peter!"
He paused entirely. Without the sounds of the cars below and the people speaking, it would have been completely silent.
"How... how..."
You pulled off your mask and your hood, giving him a sympathetic smile.
"I don't... take charity. Especially not from my boyfriend. I'll let you feed me once in a while, but that's the most I'll take. I can't do that to you, and I can't do that to your mentor who has definitely figured out my powers and knows who I am."
He was silent as you put the mask in his hand and stood up.
"You can text me whenever you want."
You left him behind on the roof.
Peter texted you the next morning, telling you to meet him at Stark Tower. You instantly knew that he had talked to Tony Stark about it, and both of them would search the entire world for you if you didn't go. Of course, that left you with the only choice of doing what he said. Peter was waiting for you in the lobby right in front of the building's security.
"Hey! Um, just follow me," Peter said quietly, his voice dying out as he turned to walk.
After an awkwardly silent trip in one of the elevators, he brought you to a large laboratory where sparks flew from the corner of the room.
"Mr. Stark! I brought my boyfriend for you to meet," Peter shouted over the noise.
Tony Stark himself sat up from his work to look at the both of you, his goggles now on his head.
"Tell me about yourself," he said, starting to walk towards you.
"You already know enough about me, don't you?" you replied.
He gave you a calculating look as he turned to a desk and pulled up a hologram. It contained information about you and your powers, but mostly your financial assets.
"I don't normally keep tabs on petty thieves, but when I found out how much you were annoying Peter, I had to find out," he said. "Kind of weird to be fighting your boyfriend every other night, huh?"
Peter looked away, his eyes instantly going to your arm. You knew he was fighting a blush, but you were busy hiding your own embarrassment. Tony started to push Peter out of the room, and he grumbled but left regardless.
"I saw his recording from his suit. I know you don't take charity, but I would do anything for Peter. All he wants is to know that you're safe from anyone who could be a threat to him or the people he cares about. How can you be safe if you can't even pay your bills?" Tony lectured. "The least you can do is stay here for a bit until you have enough money to stay at your own place. He already worries about being Spider-Man. He doesn't need to worry about you having nowhere to stay."
You stood for a moment, looking between him and the hologram.
"Fine. But for Peter. And the second I get a well-paying job I'm out of here."
"Well, you could always work here. We have great benefits."
"And work for Tony Stark? No way."
He barked out a laugh and opened the door again, Peter rushing in to grab your hand.
"What did you say?!"
"I said yes. Quit worrying," you laughed, kissing him quickly.
Tony tapped on a few things on the screen before turning to look at you both.
"Your stuff is being moved here within the next one or two days, and I let your landlord know. He's actually kind of cool. Oh, and after we move your stuff here, can we test your powers?" Tony rambled.
"No."
"Great, we'll start tomorrow."
