Don’t Go | C. Sainz
Summary: You and Carlos broke up over a month ago, however he doesn't want it to stay that way.
Tumblr media
Warnings: angst, toxic relationship if you squint
word count: 2.2k
pairing: carlos x fem!reader
"You know what, that's it. We're done!" You yelled at your boyfriend who was blatantly ignoring you while getting dressed for a work event. You didn't even wait for a response from him, mainly because you knew you weren't going to get one. You weren't the type of person to create a scene but your anger got to you. Slamming the door to your shared apartment, you kept telling yourself that you'll be fine without him while tears streamed down you cheeks.
One month later:
It turned out that you were fine without him, mainly because you haven't seen him yet. Carlos had a triple header coming up when you broke up with him, so you knew that he would be too busy anyways which meant you weren't expecting a text or phone call after your dramatic—but much needed—exit from his apartment.
It obviously hurt to leave him, after all you were together for four years. But what hurt more was that he didn't even care that you left. Despite how hectic race weekends could be, you thought that you had at least some sort of importance in his life to at least deserve a phone call.
During that one month, you thought about the four years you spent together and wondered where it went wrong. Carlos was an amazing, loving boyfriend. You understood each other, respected each other, and you truly loved him.
There were moments when he would be extremely stressed out due to his racing results and you completely understood that. The thing was, he would come to you to talk about it all. He would lay his head against your chest and you would play with his hair while he was would tell you everything.
However, the Carlos you knew then was nothing like the one you broke up with. He was distant, cold, and made you feel like you didn't mean anything to him.
You were currently out with your friend at a club because she made it her mission to help you move on. Obviously that meant finding someone else for a night to help you forget about everything but you didn't want that. In fact, you two had been out for a few hours now but you were still completely sober. You were moving on. Not forgetting about it, but accepting the truth. Or at least you thought you were.
You watched as your friend was dancing freely, without a care in the world and you wished that you could be like her. The temptation of wanting to drink was strong, but you restrained yourself because you didn't want to wake up with a hangover. Plus, drinking wasn't your thing. What you needed right now was a cigarette and a lighter, both of the things already in your pocket.
You silently communicated with your friend when she looked at you, telling her that you are going to step out for a moment. You stood in the alleyway where you saw two people making out further away. Turning away from them, you lit a cigarette. Sure this habit was bad, but it could be a lot worse. You weren't a heavy smoker but you always had a pack on you, just in case.
The air was chilly which made the smoke you inhaled feel a lot better than it usually would. The warmth radiating through your body was inviting.
You heard the back door open but didn't face it, thinking the couple went back in. You smelt his cologne before you saw him, and instantly the memories rushed back. Although, you doubted that he knew it was you.
You were right, because he tapped your shoulder and asked for a cigarette. When you turned to face him, he looked quite surprised. He looked good, of course he did, there were rarely any bad days for him. His hair was slightly messy due to the wind outside, and his outfit was quite casual.
He said your name to bring back your attention towards him. You passed him the pack and he commented, "thought you stopped."
"I did." You simply said, implying that you started again after your breakup. You'd still carry a pack on you even though you never touched it, but now things were different.
He nodded, standing beside you while you puffed out smoke. "Thought you didn't smoke." You commented to which he replied, "I didn't."
You could read the implication as well, but you didn't think that he'd ever indulge in this bad habit. He would always tell you to stop, joking around that he will live longer than you.
You didn't like this silence, nor did you want to talk to him. You initially thought that he'd say something, anything. But this silence was deafening.
Throwing the remnants of the cigarette, you turned around to leave but you remembered something so you stopped, "I still have to pick up my stuff, text me a time you're free so I can come by."
The night that you left in anger, you didn't take your keys belonging to your shared apartment, which meant you had to wait for him to be home so you could pick up your stuff.
——
He followed through on your request and texted you a few hours after your last conversation, telling you to come by whenever because he'd be home for the week.
So here you were, standing in front of the main door to the apartment you once called yours. He opened it after a few knocks, and you had to take a deep breath before you entered. It's finally time to get through this, no matter how painful it may be.
The apartment was exactly the same as you left it, if not messier. "Sorry, I didn't really have the time to clean up." He told you, but you shrugged, "it's okay. I'm not going to be here for too long."
There was a awkward tension between you two, and you decided to act civilized, the least you could do to make your time spent here easier. "How was Spain?" You asked, knowing that his home race was the most recent one. You've always attended his home race, so it felt weird that you weren't there this time.
"It was good, got second place." He said, and you didn't have the guts to tell him that you watched the race, seeing him celebrate with his teammate who won. You also saw the trophy that was undoubtedly new, sitting on the shelf among his others.
If you two were together, you'd surely celebrate his race with other friends and family and even more when you two would've gotten home that night. But that's something that will never happen now.
Walking towards your bedroom, the same one you and Carlos shared, you started gathering your things. Either Carlos didn't want to remove your things or he didn't have the time to do so. For your peace of mind, you are hoping the second reason is true.
You had brought an empty suitcase with you, and while you were filling it up with your clothes, his voice made you pause, "don't go." He was leaning against the doorframe, watching you pack up all your stuff and then planning on leaving this apartment without any trace of your relationship behind.
"You should've said that a month ago," you were quick to respond without even looking up at him. Which is why you didn't see him walking closer and crouching down. He held your hand to stop you from folding your clothes, making you look at him.
"I should've said a lot more a month ago, but is too late to say it now?" He asked as he moved his hand up, placing it on your cheek.
For a moment, you let yourself get lost in his eyes. Mainly because it reminded you of the good times of your relationship, before everything went wrong.
Carlos took your lack of response to continue, "you know, I miss you" those words broke you out of your trance, "I miss the old you" you responded, making him realize the consequences to his actions.
You moved his hand away, returning back to the task at hand. "Can we please talk about this?" He asked, making you sigh. "I'm sorry Carlos, I don't think that's a good idea." You shook your head.
"Why not? It was a bit extreme no, you just walked out on me."
"Like I said, it's been a month. If you wanted to stop me or talk about it then you should've called me or at least make the effort to contact me. But you didn't, and that's exactly why we're over now." You tried to keep yourself in control, watching your tone. You didn't want to leave this apartment while arguing again.
"I was busy with the races you know that-" he tried to reason but you were quick to stop him. "And that's the problem Carlos, you were busy. You've gotten so busy nowadays that I barely see you. There have been times where I had to wait weeks before I could see you again, and even then all you're talking about is the next upcoming race."
He opened his mouth to say something but you didn't let him and continued, "I get it, it's your career, it's something you've wanted since you were a child. But if your career is that important for you that you can't even spend any time with me, then there's no point of a relationship."  You concluded.
You could see when realization hit him, knowing that things won't be the same anymore. You would feel bad but he wasn't there to console you when you felt like that either. You almost scoffed at the idea of him thinking that everything between you could work out.
"You're really choosing to throw away the four years we spent together?"
"I really didn't want to. Trust me, I really, really didn't want this. But I am tired of being the only one holding our relationship together. In the past year, I have seen no efforts from your side." You were brutally honest with him, and despite his expressions saying otherwise, he needed to hear this.
He held your hands again, "don't do this."
"Carlos, why don't you understand. For lack of better words, I'm freeing you from this. You don't have to worry about calling, texting, or even seeing me." The words you were saying out loud were tearing your heart apart and you had no doubt that if Carlos still loves you, he'd feel the same.
"If you think you're not gonna see me or hear from me again, you're wrong. You will see me, and you will damn well hear from me again." Carlos' mood shifted.
"No-" you began but he cut you off. "You've said your part, now hear me out. If you think I stopped loving you for even a moment, you're wrong. And I know you still love me too. If you didn't, you would completely ignore me and not try to convince me why our break up is a good idea. Although it sounds like you're trying to convince yourself rather than me."
You opened your mouth but no words came out because you were speechless. "You think I didn't have a single thought about you while I was away? You're wrong. You're the only person I thought about, you occupied my mind every second of every day for the entire month."
"If you really want to try this whole breakup thing out, sure go ahead. Walk out of my life like you did a month ago, but this time I am not letting you go. If you think you are not going to see any effort from me, again sorry but you're wrong."
"I am so sorry for everything I've done or haven't done for the past year and truly I have no excuse for my actions. But you, darling, are the best thing that has ever happened to me."
You know what Carlos expects you to say. He wants you to forget about it all and go back to how you two were before. But at the same time, he is challenging you to leave, and you never backed down from a challenge before and you won't start now. As much as you love him, you need actions not words.
"You claim to love me right?" You ask and he nods.
You zip up your suitcase and stand up. "I am going to leave, and you will let me. You say that you'll prove it to me, so until I don't see you taking actions for your words, I am not coming back."
He still looks taken aback, clearly not expecting you to do this. But he settles his emotions and nods, "you can leave, but I'm not letting you go."
Carlos is also the type to accept the challenge, and he will do anything to earn your love again. After all, he never wanted to break up, in fact, he wanted to make you his wife. So if he has to work for that, he will.

We lolly-gagged this morning, as we had such a short day ahead. Coffee at a cafe, a stop at a pastry shop for some unknown but delicious delights, and a grocery store stop for emergency food (Snickers Bars) in case things went sour during the what we assumed would be 15ish miles into Belgrade. Their Daughter Part 6
Tenison was high in the dining room of Grimmuald Place as the Black brothers stared one another down. Regulus knew that part of Sirius's anger was because he thought he had lost his child to his brother, much like when they were young, and their parents favored Regulus over him. But this was Sirius's own fault; Ali had tried even after she had been hurt that Sirius went to Harry first. Sirius could not get over the fact that Ali was close with the Malfoys and had taken to projecting his anger to the only person who would love him more than anything if he tried.
Sirius wouldn't admit it out loud, but he was jealous of Regulus. He always had been, but coming back from the hell he had been trapped in to find that his own daughter had chosen his brother over him hurt more than any torture he had ever faced. Regulus had always been the perfect child who everyone adored. He had gotten fewer beatings as a child than Sirius, had gotten better grades in school, and now was considered a dad to Ali. It was only natural for Sirius to go back to what he did during his school years and focus his attention on the people who showed him attention. Harry was his godchild, but Harry also had no one else, meaning Sirius didn't have to worry about being replaced. Sirius also felt awful for the events that transpired the night of James and Lily's deaths and was trying to make up for it.
"If you just gave her a chance, you may find she is much more like you than you think." Regulus sat at the table again, watching his older brother run his hands through his hair. "She is so headstrong and stubborn that I know it revivals yours. And I cannot express enough how she just wants to be good enough for you to love, much like how you tried for years with Mother."
Sirius sighed in defeat, regrettting the painful things he had put his daughter through. "I do love her. I just…."
"Are shit at showing it. I saw the look in your eyes when Ali called me dad; I know that hurt you. But instead of talking about it, you just lash out at her or me or Remus, making it seem like you really don't care at all. I never tried to fill that role in her life. I was and will always be Uncle Reg, and that is fine. Do I see her as my child and love her like my own? Yes, absolutely. I will do anything for her, and if that fills that role as a father, I will. But I don't want to take that from you. You had so much stolen from you in your life, Sirius: your childhood, your parents, your best friend, 12 years of your life. The last thing I want to do is take more away, but I cannot and will not put you above her. She deserves so much in this world, and you should help her get it. We both should. But the question remains: will you put aside your 'every Slytherin is a Death Eater' mindset to do so? Because people have changed and we are close to the Malfoys, Notts, Parkinson's, and the Zabini's. They are not the same people anymore. Things have changed in the war; sides have changed. But you haven't. Ali is loyal to a fault and is a great judge of character; she won't betray the Order, nor will the others. Just give people a chance, Sirius."
"I did give people a chance, and it…..it got my best friend and his wife killed. We trusted Peter. I trusted Peter enough to have James make him the secret Keeper. It got them killed, and he was our friend. How am I supposed to trust that Lucius Malfoy has the Order's best interest at heart when my own friend of 9 years didn't?" Sirius started pacing before his brother. His head is cloudy in memories, tears blurring his eyes as his best friend's dead body flashed in front of him. "I know that I'm shit at showing Ali I love her, and part of it is because I'm scared to get close only to lose her again to someone like Lucius Malfoy. I owe it to James to look after Harry, but that doesn't mean I don't love him like my own because I do. But I love Ali just as much, and I know she has you, Remus, and even Snivillious to love her. And I want to try to improve things with her; I just don't know how. How do I fix what I've done, Regulus?"
Regulus caught the double meaning to his brother's question, "You can't. Sirius, you can't fix what happened to James and Lily. You can't fix how you've treated Ali so far."
Sirius felt his heart crack at his brother's words. He had hoped to get Ali back, but it seemed he had gone too far. He started for the stairs when Regulus continued.
"But that doesn't mean you can't fix it from now on. You can't change the past and bring James back, but you can make them proud by loving and protecting Ali and Harry. I mean, yeah, they don't get along now, but I think part of that is because he has seen and heard how you and James treated outsiders. I know they used to play together as babies, not that they would remember it, but Remus told me. Tell how close they were till everything happened, and bring them back together. Stop being afraid of losing Ali to someone when all everyone wants to do is love her and keep her safe. And maybe you don't trust Lucius or the others right now, but I trust them more than Dumbledore most of the time. And you should talk to Moody about the help Lucius has given the Order even if he refuses to say he has aligned himself with us." Regulus held his brother's shoulder, "Give them a chance. Don't let the other kids make remarks about Ali and her friends. Talk to her. I wouldn't start trying to act like her father, but maybe a friend? Or a really distant uncle. You'll figure it out, Sirius; you're smarter than you give yourself credit for."
Sirius followed his brother up the stairs, going to bed with hope, lighting a flame in his heart for the first time in years.
Days following the talk between Regulus and Sirius, Ali noticed that the golden trio had become slightly nicer to her. She does not make as many comments about her or her friends. She had no idea what was happening but wasn't going to complain. Regulus had come to her that morning telling her that he thought it a better idea if Blaise came to their house instead of her going over there. He believed it would show that the Slytherins were not as bad as all the others thought.
At first, Ali was hesitant about the idea. Still, after being reassured that Remus would be home as well as Regulus, Ali agreed. The thought of Blaise being at her house surrounded by her tormentors made her sick to her stomach. She wanted nothing more than to run away for a few days, but that ship had sailed, and it was only hours before Blaise arrived when Regulus called for 'those who live in this house meeting.' By the time Ali had gotten dressed and cleaned her room, everyone was already in the kitchen since it seemed to be the usual gathering place for the group. She straightened her sweater and did a quick glance down to make sure her outfit was still okay. It was slightly chilly in the house, so she had gone with a Bulgarian Quidditch sweater that was mainly red with black details and a pair of cropped black leggings with matching fuzzy socks. She and Blaise had already decided to stay for most of the day and then go and get dinner somewhere in Diagon Ally so she could change later. Remus and Regulus walked at the same time as Sirius and Harry.
"I'm assuming everyone is confused about why this meeting was called," Remus started. "There seems to be an assumption that Slyertians and those associated with them are all Death Eaters or traitors."
Scowls had overtaken most of the younger one's faces in the room, as well as Sirius's. Ali looked at her uncle, trying to figure out where this was going. She knew the reason was to inform everyone that Blaise would be here for a few days, but there was something else going on; she could feel it.
"After speaking with Dumbledore and getting his permission, not that I technically need the permission as it is my house, but nevertheless. A few individuals will be coming to stay here for the upcoming days, and there will be a couple of visitors as well." Regulus's eye caught Ali's, and gave her a wink just as the sound of footsteps entered the foyer. Ali was too short to see over everyone's heads to see who was there, but from the looks on a couple faces, including the elder Weasley, it was someone they were not fond of.
A flash of white hair caught Ali's eye as the group entered the kitchen. Her mouth dropped in shock as she took in her uncle Severus, leading the Malfoys, Blaise, and Theo towards Regulus and Remus. Cissa shot her a wink while Draco eyed Harry and Sirius up and down; Blaise kept his eyes locked on Ali, and Theo thoroughly enjoyed the shocked looks from the Weasleys.
"Sorry, we're late. Draco took too long in the mirror this morning," Severus said. Draco glared at his Godfather before continuing on with his glare at Potter.
"Well, allow me to introduce everyone. This is Narcissa and Lucius Malfoy, which I'm sure almost all of you know. This is Blaise, Theodore, and Draco. Narcissa and Lucius will be in and out for the next bit trying to get caught up on Order business while the latter three will be staying here for a bit." Remus shook Lucius's hand before joining Dora beside Ali, who was bouncing on her toes, overly excited at the fact that it was going to be back to normal in the next couple of days.
"You can't be serious. They are staying here?" Sirius exclaimed, running his hand down his face before glaring at Lucius. "I still remember what you did, Malfoy."
"I don't often agree with Sirius, but Dumbledore said this was alright?" Arthur asked. Ali knew that the Malfoys hadn't been the kindest to the Weasleys in the past, and she felt sorry for them in that aspect, but Lucius was not the same man as he was during her first year. And Narcissa wouldn't hurt a flea.
Remus stepped forward again, "He did. Narcissa and Lucius will be helping with some scooting missions that are coming up since they know that area of town better and are considering joining the Order. The three brats are mainly for Ali, though."
"Did you miss us short stack?" Theo opened his arms for Ali, who jumped straight into them. Theo gave her a twirl before pulling on her braid. She barely had time to catch her breath before Draco had her spinning again and tickling her sides, making her squeal.
"Of course I missed you! What kind of question is that?!" Ali giggled before hugging Blaise despite her uncle Remus glaring at them. Blaise took her hand and gave it a squeeze when they parted before facing the other children in the room. Theo and Draco took the opposite sides of Ali, showing a united front against the ones who had been horrible towards her.
Ali was ecstatic that they were going to be in the house more. Maybe her summer wouldn't end so badly. Sirius was shocked that Dumbledore had cleared this and even more shocked that Lucius would help the Order. He did not trust him and would go on those missions even if he had to go as Padfoot. This was outrageous and downright stupid, allowing death eaters to snoop freely in the Order business. Looking at his daughter, he could see how happy she was to be surrounded by her friends, but he also knew that he would have to keep a closer eye on her than he already was. He had asked the trio to play nice so he had more people watching her. He did trust that she was a Death Eater, and now he was surrounded by them.
"Al, Kreatcher sat up extra beds in your room for the boys. Pansy should be joining later, but she had something come up with her grandfather. Her mother said she would owl when she was on her way." Regulus leveled each of the boys with a look. "You lot know the rules. I don't care if you have fun but clean up after yourselves, and don't be too loud when it gets late. Curfew is at 10pm and no later. If you are leaving the house, go in pairs at least and let one of the adults you know be aware of where you're going. You lot know the food is fair game, and Kretcher has already been instructed to grocery shop more often. The house is also fair game, but be respectful, please."
"Don't worry, Uncle Reg. I'll keep them in line," Draco smirked at the other three before Severus whacked him upside the head.
Ali turned and looked at the younger swarm of redheads and others in the room. She cleared her throat to get the attention on her, which made her take an unconscious step back toward Blaise and Draco. "Everyone, this is Theo, Blaise and Draco. I'm sure most of you know this, but just in case. You are welcome to join our fun, but we get if you don't want to." Ali pulled the boys out of the room after greeting her aunt and uncle. They sat on the living room floor with wizards, chess, and a few other games while a movie played in the background. Kreacher brought out snack trays for them, and the laughter was music to Regulus's ears after all the quiet he'd heard from Ali this summer.
Ali could feel the stares from those around them, most directed at Draco and her. She could see the disbelief every time Draco laughed or made a joke. This was the side of Draco that was rarely seen by others. An hour had passed before a chess match went on between Draco and Ali. Blaise sat to one side of Ali, and Theo was in the middle of her and Draco, watching the death match continue.
"What dare shall I have you do this time, Als" Draco taunted her while he moved his piece. It was an ongoing rule that when she and Draco played wizarding chess, the loser had to do a dare of the winner's choice. It was always a toss-up in who won, as both were incredibly good at the game.
"Don't think too hard; I wouldn't want to overwork that one brain cell of yours." Ali stuck her tongue out at Draco when she stole his knight.
Draco was about to reply when a shadow came over the top of the board. Looking up, there was the eldest two Weasley children and Fleur. Ali could see the hearts in Theo's eyes before she kicked him in the shin. "She's engaged, you idiot."
Bill and Charlie chuckled, "We saw you guys playing games and were curious if we could join you? I have my board and thought we could do a little tournament."
Charlie held up his chess board. The teens all nodded, and with a snap of his fingers, Charlie's board was all set up. Bill took one side of the board before looking at Theo. "You up for a challenge?"
Theo crawled to the opposite side of the small table. Bill made the first move, and the game commenced. Charlie and Fleur took seats around the rest of them and started trash-talking with them, too. Charlie was on Ali's side, whereas Fleur took Dracos. Regulus, Molly, and Narcissa looked around the corner and had smiles spread across their faces at the sight they saw. It wasn't the younger kids trying to get along with the others, but the eldest and Molly knew that her children all looked up to their brothers, so maybe there was hope in this crazy plan after all.

You get the love you think you deserve.
𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐫𝐞: angst /melancholy
𝑺𝒖𝒎𝒎𝒂𝒓𝒚: Dazai slowly falls in love with the woman who shelters him during the two years after he left the Mafia.
This is one of my first works and I'm so happy I finally get to share it with you. I wrote it while listening to the guitar version of Mary by Alex G. So basically that's the vibe. Enjoy!

"𝓨𝓸𝓾 𝓰𝓮𝓽 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓵𝓸𝓿𝓮 𝔂𝓸𝓾 𝓽𝓱𝓲𝓷𝓴 𝔂𝓸𝓾 𝓭𝓮𝓼𝓮𝓻𝓿𝓮"
That's what she always said.
He never gave too much thought to this idea until now. Not when they met that Friday evening in the dim-lit bar, not during the two year stay at her place and certainly not when she joined the organization he worked for. But now, as he was standing in front of her apartment buliding holding a bouquet of honeysuckle in one hand and saw him exit through the front doors, this thought popped into his mind.
It all started around four years ago. He never thought that someone could change his life as drastically as she did. She waltzed right into his mind and heart and never left. He still remembers their first encounter. He didn't even notice her staying on the red cushion chair opposite to his until she came over. "Hello stranger" she said as she set down her glass of champagne next to his "You look lonely". That evening she wore a crimson red dress. Her brown eyes looked so innocent, so kind. She took a seat next to him and extended her hand "I'm Y/N" she said with a warm smile on her face. As he shook her hand he didn't fail to notice how cold it was. He chuckled and took a sip of his drink. They talked about everything and nothing at the same time: favourite colours, great places to eat, cats and the weather. It was only when he mentioned his work that her wide smile turned into a frown. She listened as he told her all about his worries, how he was going to leave the mafia and had nowhere to go. When he was done talking she simply looked him in the eyes and offered to take him in. For a second he was awestruck, but he eventually agreed. They made their way back to her apartment, a way he still knows up to this day like the back of his hand.
They went up to the 17th floor. As soon as he entered her apartment he was met with a view of the city. The blinding lights of the buildings and boulevards blinded him. He heard her footsteps behind and turned to face her. A smile was plastered across her face as she crossed her arms.
"So? Do you like it here?" she asked.
"I love it" he replied.
In no more than three weeks he returned to her place carrying a bag with his belongings. He didn't pack almost any clothes so she would sometimes go and buy him some things.
It was funny for him to see how almost everything turned from hers to their. Her kitchen became their kitchen, her slippers, their slippers. After a while her bed became their bed, her memories became their memories. It was all too perfect and he knew that. The only thing that wasn't shared was his blooming love for her.
He first noticed the feelings on a rainy night after she returned from a gone-bad date with some guy. She was crying and he held her as she told him how shitty the dude was. He wanted to hold her like this forever, shield her from all the bad things in the world. "Y𝓸𝓾 𝓰𝓮𝓽 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓵𝓸𝓿𝓮 𝔂𝓸𝓾 𝓽𝓱𝓲𝓷𝓴 𝔂𝓸𝓾 𝓭𝓮𝓼𝓮𝓻𝓿𝓮". That's when she told him that night.
He never mentioned his feelings, but how could he? It would be wrong, unfair. She was so good to him, never asking for anything in return no matter how much she did. And she did a lot. She was always working and running around town, buying groceries, hanging out with friends, picking books for him to read while she was away. Kindness and friendship. That's what she showed him. She held him whenever he was sad or lonely and cooked for him on Sunday morning. Her favourite time of the year was Christmas. She always bought a tree that they decorated together. On new year's eve she was usually out with her friends but he always texted him some wishes at 12:00, followed by a long string of colourful hearts. The next day she would always sleep in so he made her breakfast in bed. That's how the years went by.
When he moved out 2 years later and joined the Ada she made sure that he had a new wardrobe full of clothes. "New job, new you" she said with a smirk on her face. He always loved that smile. The last day they spent together he made her promise not to tell anyone about the past two years. He was a brand new person with a future ahead and a career that couldn't be compromised. She reluctantly agreed and gave him a big hug before he left the apartment. He took almost everything he owned. All he left behind were some worn T-shirts. And his home, the only true home he ever had.
Around a year later she joined the organization as Ranpo's tutor. She wanted to pursue her dream of becoming a detective. She didn't have any ability and the job was dangerous, but if Ranpo managed to stay alive for so long so could she. Little did she know that he was protecting her from all dangers. It was time for him to keep her safe, to return her favour. Althought they had to hide their relationship, they still talked from time to time. He quickly got used to the sight of her in that grey uniform, with her hair tied up in a bun and a cup of coffee next to her as she was working on different cases.
One particular night the organization attended a party. She was there too, wearing a gorgeous black dress. Her heels made a clicking sound as she walked up to a waiter and took a glass of champagne from his tray. All eyes were on her that night, his included. She was mesmerizing. She danced and drank and cracked jokes with everyone, while he stood in the back observing her. It may have been the alcohol but that night he decided to finally confess his feelings. After all, she never had a boyfriend since they met, she never even saw anyone as far as he new and it must have meant something. Maybe she loved him too. He went to the bathroom to splash some cold water on his face but by the time he was back she was already gone. Kunikida said he didn't notice her leave so he started to worry. He quickly noticed the absence of his former tutor too, who was attending the party for the mafia. His heart sank when he considered the possibility of them leaving together but he brushed this thought away. He left the party soon after and opened her chat. The last message he sent was over a year ago "I'll come over tomorrow morning. Is that ok?" he quickly typed and pressed sent. The text came back almost instantaneously: "Ok Ill be waiting for you♡".
He smiled as he let his phone slide back into his pocket. She'll be waiting for him.
The next morning he made sure to put on his nicest clothes and bought her her favourite flowers. His anxiety increased as
he was approaching her building, not knowing what exactly he was going to say to her. Confessing after all these years seemed like madness, but he was a madman. His train of thought was interruped by a familiar figure leaving the building. Akutagawa. He didnt even notice him as he closed the grand doors, a dumb smile on his face. It was a smile he himself wore whenever he saw her. The smile of a man in love. His hopes shattered at this sight. All his fears came true and he started spiraling. But suddenly his mind cleared, her voice sounding loud and clear in his head: "𝓨𝓸𝓾 𝓰𝓮𝓽 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓵𝓸𝓿𝓮 𝔂𝓸𝓾 𝓽𝓱𝓲𝓷𝓴 𝔂𝓸𝓾 𝓭𝓮𝓼𝓮𝓻𝓿𝓮" .
He sighed and turned around, letting the bouquet fall from his hands as he turned around and made his way back home.
A few minutes after he entered his apartment his phone chimed. He saw her name on the display:
"Are you still coming over? It s almost noon :(". A sad grin made its way to his lips as he quickly texted back "Sorry I won't make it today. Don't worry it was nothing important anyway. Go get some rest". He set his phone down without waiting for her reply and he grabbed his glass of whiskey. His vision began to blur as he sipped his drink. Soon after tears started streaming down his face like a waterfall. He cried away all his sorrows and regrets, but this time she wasn't by his side to comfort him.

An observation about TGAMM The End
Big big spoilers ahead, click away if you aren't caught up
This is also my first NEGATIVE TGAMM analysis post! Wowie! So if you don't want to see me bitch, also click off now
The End and how Molly McGee's character was disrespected
Tumblr media
The End is. An episode. I have many MANY thoughts about it but it would be far too long to put in one post so I'm going to explore one of my more reoccurring opinions. This episode recontextualized a lot of things but I'm going to talk about how it recontextualized Molly as a character. Most importantly as a MAIN character. A TITLE character. A character with her own past and personality and feelings. All of which this episode completely stomped all over, handed her the check, and said "figure it out"
I want to apologize to my friend who called this so SO much earlier into the series and that he had to listen to me watch this show on lethal amounts of copium. You were right but I knew neither of us wanted you to be.
Now let's get into the meat of it, shall we?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
All throughout season 1, Molly's history and relationship with the concept of friends is always treated with complete sincerity and the emotional pause it needs to sink in with the audience that she's been through it. Moving away and leaving friends is why she put so much importance on the "forever home" in the first place because she's had to leave so many people she loved. She had a rocky beginning with Scratch during the early season but quickly became on equal footing with him as they began to understand each other and their boundaries. Because she genuinely cares about him. Similarly, season 2 explores the boundaries of their friendship and shows Scratch more willing to participate in whatever Molly is doing, even begging sometimes to be included. And Molly is very patient and kind with him all throughout trying to help him regain memories of his past. And Scratch actually reciprocated a few times like helping her learn Thai and working with Libby to set her up with Ollie. They're the closest they've ever been and something I can confidently call true best friends, possibly the closest and healthiest friendship I've seen portrayed in media. Season 2 showcases how far either of them are willing to go to help each other.
Then The End happened.
Molly is the same understanding and supportive friend as she had been all season, almost to a fault. She encourages scratch to go back to his life, knowing the risks that come with it. Why did there need to be the risk of forgetting her when his spirit didn't immediately forget his living life? Don't know. Something to do with an unreleased episode although I doubt the rest of season 3 would have sweetened my opinion of this episode. Only she knew he was about to do this, she didn't talk to any of his other friends or family before he went out to Todd's house. They only found out after the fact and the next morning is when he left. None of them had any time to process that they just lost a family member, especially not Molly.
The scene where he's talking to her on the bench breaks my heart. Knowing your friend is no longer there and is replaced with this stranger. So much of this episode would have been fixed to just let him keep his memories. Considering how hard it was to pull his living memories out of his spirit, it's very likely that even the small fragments of her he remembers will slowly fade away. She had to do the one thing she never wanted to do again and repeat the same pain that's plagued her for the entire series. And it sucks! Why doesn't she get a happy ending? Hell, I'm not even convinced this was a "happy ending" for scratch since he can't remember any of the people he just spent the last two years with.
The biggest slap to the face is when Libby, Geoff, and the McGees come up behind Molly and just act like all of this is fine? They're treating scratch like this wild animal that deserved to be released into the wild because he could never fit in with society when he was PERFECTLY HAPPY with the McGees. He proudly displayed to the entire ghost world that he was an "honorary McGee" and told a ghost hunter to his face that him and Molly would do anything for each other despite their differences. Was all of that completely pointless? Because it sure feels that way. He had this entire new "life" he just completely abandoned because oh I guess I'm not really dead. Guess I better go reconnect with my childhood friend I haven't seen in person or had any meaningful conversations with in decades!!! See ya, chumps, hope you weren't attached to me or anything!
It's so disrespectful to the audience's investment in Molly and Scratch's friendship, the themes of friendship overcoming all odds and lasting forever, and Molly as a character. And to a lesser degree, it's even disrespectful to Scratch since most of the season he spent brooding over the fact that he didn't remember his past! Now he's forgotten a large portion of his "life" all over again. Now he's going to have to live with this nagging itch at the back of his mind that he's forgetting something until he manages to completely repress it too. And to rub salt in the wound, the credits don't have near sight nor mention of Molly McGee outside of a painted portrait of her and (spirit) scratch. All this does is tell me a LONG time has passed and neither of them have managed to successfully contact each other. The dream team is gone, this is a story about a girl and a ghost and none of it meant anything.
"he'll remember when he dies again!" Where does it say that
"he didn't forget, he said Moll! That means something!" The longer he spends away from the McGees and Brighton, the more likely he is to completely forget them altogether. The vague memories will eventually fade away and every "forever memory" will be worthless.
"it doesn't matter, this is Scratch's story" then why isn't it called 'scratch and the human girl'? Or 'the scratch show'? Why is Molly a title character if she's nothing but a plot device for his character development.
"Molly had to learn how to say goodbye." No she didn't. She's been doing that her entire life. She's pretty well aware of how to say goodbye. Making her relive 13 years of trauma from the other side of the vehicle doors is not a useful life skill. Pain is not necessary to grow up.
I don't care what the excuse is. This was a terrible ending for both characters and no amount of "he's happy now!" coping from both the fans and the writers is going to get me to see this any other way. If you enjoy the episode, great! I'm happy for you, there's a lot to love in the music and voice acting and breathtaking animation. But none of that could save me from this abysmal attempt at a series finale. I was so viscerally disgusting by this as a finale that I spent a good two days completely nauseous thinking about it. What a disaster. The sad part is I like the story potential! Him reuniting with Adia is what I've wanted for him all season so he could get closure. Molly and Scratch having to say goodbye is heartbreaking but understandable, a lot of shows nowadays end that way and I half expected it. But him completely forgetting the girl he owes his new lease on life to? My gosh it's just a deal breaker. It is such a cruel end for these characters and I cannot wrap my head around why they thought it was a good idea outside of cheap angst.
I wanted to like this episode and I still do. But they just did so much wrong when one thing could change and it would have completely flipped my opinion on the episode and series in general. But what do I know, I'm just a negative nancy.
Anyway idk how to end this off, justice for Molly McGee, Scratch deserved to be called Scratch McGee, kill Todd Mortenson, peace out

Cigarettes and Cliches (Part 1)
Tumblr media
Pairing: Lee Felix x Reader Word Count: 4.3k Genre: college au, slow burn romance, Warnings: 🔞, 18+, minors DNI, swearing, alcohol use, sexual themes,
He was the most impractical guy for you to be interested in, the incredibly handsome cliché bad boy who collected girls like trophies. As hard as you wanted to hate him his persistence and hidden softer side just could be your undoing.
It had been a month since that stupid party where Seungmin had managed to get himself injured, albeit a minor injury, and you were still feeling a bit protective of him. He never told you what the fight was about aside that some guys were being a bunch of dicks about a girl he knew so he stepped in to get them to stop, you never asked any other questions because you could tell he didn't want to talk about it. He had stayed home with you over the weekends for the 3 weeks after that letting Jeongin go and have fun while you made the both of you dinner and either studied or watched a movie together. That changed however on the fourth week.
"Are you going with Jeongin? you asked from the kitchen as they played video games in the lounge, Friday evening had rolled around once again too fast for your liking but you had a shift tonight that you needed to get ready for so you snacked as you finished up a few things.
"Yeah, everyone will have forgotten by now" he grinned back toothily while keeping his eyes focused on his character.
"Boys" you chuckled going around the kitchen island to get to your room "you do remember I'm out tonight yeah?"
"Oooh have a hot date?" Jeongin squealed excitedly pausing the game to look at you hopefully.
"Yeah with a coffee machine you twat, it's Friday night I'm working" you laughed as you shut the door behind you to change, as you did you could here the game not restart like you assumed it would.
"She needs to get out, she needs to date" Jeongin whined softly "There is more to life than her just studying and working".
"I know but you know how hard her parents are on her she got yelled at for over an hour when she told them she moved in here, we can't tell her how to live" Seungmin hissed as you continued to listen at the door.
"I just want her happy, she deserves to be happy and accounting is not going to make her happy it is going to make her parents happy. She will graduate, get a job, sit at a desk and never have a chance at life again to keep people who just run her down all the time happy" Jeongin was arguing getting a little louder as he went.
"Keep it down fuck wit she will hear you" Seungmin scolded "I want her to be happy too but we can't tell her she's making a mistake it isn't our life its hers". After a moment or so more the game unpaused and you could hear the sound of the game filter through the closed door as you rushed to get dressed and go.
"I'll see you guys later" you called as you rushed to the front door and out into the hallway.
Work was busy as always Friday nights usually started quiet and ended up a bit chaotic as people came in for coffee to sober up again, you and a few of the girls called it the witching hour as a joke since pretty much anything could and would happen. Not that you cared Friday nights paid well and you were always happy to have a little extra to spare in the bank if you could manage it. During your break you made yourself an iced tea and sat at the far end of the counter so you were out of the customers way and played on your phone. You could feel eyes on you but you were determined to ignore it you were about to go back on and witching hour was almost beginning, clearing your things you walked back around the counter and put your apron back on pulling in place over your head you noticed him, that pretty Felix guy that helped Seung home that night. He was on the far side of the room watching you with a strange look on his face, the girl hanging off of him hadn't noticed that he wasn't paying any attention to her but his friends had. Taking a breath you got back behind the coffee machine and started on the orders occasionally flicking your eyes to him to see if he was still looking at you which he was every single time.
"Excuse me miss" a honey smooth voice murmured to you making you startle slightly as you turned to him, he was taller than Felix but equally as stunning to look at, like a sculpture come to life.
"Can I help you?" you smiled politely trying not to look dazed.
"I hope so" he almost purred looking you over "I'm Hyunjin" he introduced himself seamlessly.
"Pleasure Hyunjin, but you haven't told me how I can help" you replied tilting your head.
"I was wondering what time you are getting off tonight? I thought you might like to join us" His voice was almost hypnotizing and you were sure that with the combination of this and his looks he could speak to any woman in the cafe and get them to follow him home.
"Who is us?" you asked zeroing on his words not his voice making him chuckled softly.
"In truth it would be you, me and my friends Minho and Felix he gestured behind him where you looked to see Seung's friend glaring at Hyunjin and another handsome guy laughing at him while the girls hanging off of them looked pissed Hyunjin was speaking to you at all.
"I don't think some of your numerous girlfriends would be that happy about that" you smiled politely before turning back to your orders not noticing Hyunjin's slightly baffled expression or how hard Felix immediately started laughing.
Two and a half hours later you were finishing up and saying goodbye to your co-workers when you noticed that Hyunjin, Minho and their gaggle of fangirls were no longer sitting in the back corner of the room however, Felix was still sitting there looking at something on his phone. He hadn't noticed you staring but he seemed to be conflicted about something as he typed then waited then typed again. You knew you should leave it but he was sitting alone in an fairly empty coffee shop on a Friday night which considering his other options seemed odd to you.
"Can I get you anything" you asked casually standing in front of him making his eyes flick up at you prepared to roll his eyes but he stopped as soon as he realized it was you.
"Have you finished for the night?" He asked smiling faintly "you aren't in one of those stupid aprons anymore".
"Yeah I have, thank you for the uniform critique, but I can still get you something if you wanted me to" you smiled awkwardly pressing your lips together.
"I'm good thanks" he nodded as he phone seemed to continue to chime nonstop with notifications.
"Alright then sorry to bother you" you nodded adjusting your bag and starting to turn around.
"You haven't bothered me and it's Felix, I forgot to introduce myself that night at your place after we got Seungmin and Jeongin back" he blurted out seeming every bit as nervous as you which was impossible since he was infamously attractive and had made his way through more girls than you even knew.
"I thought you were hanging out with your friends, at least that's what um...your friend said" you felt your face heat up not being able to remember the name of the handsome guy from earlier.
"Hyunjin" he chuckled looking genuinely happy "Yeah they have gone to party Hyunjin was a little deflated after you shot him down"
"Shot him down?" You yelped your eyes widening at the implication.
"I'm just kidding they were only wanting to tease you anyway, word got around the Seung and Innie have been hiding a cute roommate so Hyunjin just wanted to make them squirm about which one was hooking up with you" he chuckled looking back to his phone to silence it.
"Right...well have a good night then Felix" you mumbled feeling stupid for thinking that they were actually being friendly or that Felix might have hung around for another reason since you had definitely heard him say you were cute that night before he left. You walked towards the door not hearing him call out to you until he grabbed your elbow a few feet outside the café making you jump your heart pounding in your chest.
"You aren't walking home alone are you?" he sighed "It's not safe for girls to walk home alone at night".
"I always walk home alone" you snapped annoyed that he had embarrassed you and now scared you.
"Let me walk you this time then" he replied sounding irritated.
"Why would you even bother, just to give me shit? No thanks I already know that's all I'm good for thanks" You ground out utterly pissed at how handsome he looked but how much of a dick he apparently was. "Besides you didn't care when I was getting chucked out into the night so you could get your dick sucked why start caring now?" You pulled your arm from his grasp and walked away as calmly as you could leaving him as far behind as you could.
When you got back to your apartment you found only Seungmin was home, well his shoes were home but he wasn't alone so you crept passed his door hoping to not disturb him as you made your way to the kitchen to grab some water and painkillers to dull the headache you now had. For a moment you thought Seungmin and Jeongin had been right maybe you did need to date but Felix and his friends showed you just how untrustworthy some guys could be so maybe it was better to just stick to what you knew. As you stood in the kitchen contemplating your non existent love life you heard very familiar voice in the hall, Seungmin was obviously finished entertaining his 'guest' and he was seeing her out with an excuse that the other roommates couldn't know she was there. Sighing you waited to see if Seungmin made his way into the kitchen or back into his room.
"When did you get back?" he asked as he rounded the corner seeing you standing there staring off into space.
"A few minutes ago, I didn't overhear if that's what you're worried about" you sighed not feeling like you could do the normal back and forth with him tonight.
"No, I was just wondering, are you alright?" he asked leaning his back against the counter so he could see your face.
"Long shift, annoying customers" you nodded trying to mask your annoyance.
"You seem sad that's all" he pressed a little making you more irritated.
"I'm fine Seung, I'm just tired" you smiled tightly "I'll see you in the morning" you left him standing there knowing he would ask more questions in the morning hopefully not in front of Jeongin.
Morning came and you had been correct more questions followed though annoyingly Seungmin seemed to have filled in, the not as hung over as you had hoped, Jeongin.
"Do you feel better this morning?" Jeongin welcomed you from the kitchen as you left your room.
"Yeah I do thanks. How was the party? you seem pretty chipper this morning" you smiled hoping you could just have Jeongin spill the tea for the next hour to keep your from having to explain anything.
"It was amazing, Hyunjin and Minho arrived late without Felix which is strange but apparently some girl turned Hyunjin down, like who turns down Hyunjin honestly, anyway that probably isn't true but who knows maybe it is and Minho was giving him shit about it since apparently Felix has a crush on her but that has to be shit Felix doesn't have crushes he fucks his way through campus" Jeongin began which instantly made you annoyed again why would he be so invested in the lives of fuck boys even if they are his friends "but that helped us all hook up though after they picked who they wanted the others just always gravitate towards us since we're their friends, Seung picked up some girl who was devastated that Felix wasn't there so good for him".Jeongin continued to babble and you tuned out continuing to nod like you cared until Seungmin interrupted.
"You have that look on your face again, the one from last night" he called you out easily.
"I'm fine I just had a weird conversation with some friends of yours and one was a jerk that's all" You sighed hoping you could play down everything.
"Which friends?" Seungmin asked seeming surprised.
"Not important Seung was back when I got in from work but you weren't Innie" you prodded "spill".
"Oh yeah so after Seungmin left with that chick Felix did show up and he was pissed, I don't know what happened before he got there, but Hyunjin and Minho were giving him shit then these other guys decided it would be fun to chime in and Felix lost it so he punched one of them and he and Minho ended up taking on like four guys, Felix will probably have a black eye but they are always in fights so it's not like that's never happened before" Jeongin continued loving that your were interested but again Seungmin interrupted.
"Which of our friends were rude to you?" he asked again with far more authority making you frown.
"Hyunjin and Felix, apparently I turned the mighty Hyunjin down even though he only wanted me to hang out with him to give you two shit about which one of you was fucking me and then Felix was a prick about it all, it was nothing really" you sighed.
"Hold on you're the one who turned down Hyunjin?" Jeongin's eyes widened in disbelief.
"I didn't turn him down he came over while I was working and introduced himself then he asked if I wanted to hang out with them after I finished work. I told him that the girls that were all over them didn't seem thrilled with that idea then went back to work" you explained, mainly to Jeongin who was looking like he was too shocked to speak.
"And Felix?" Seung asked softly looking like he knew more than you did which confused you.
"They left, Felix stayed when I finished I asked him if i could get him anything and he told me they only asked me to hang out to give you two shit and then scared the shit out of me on the street when he grabbed my arm, he offered to walk me home. I declined. End of my super exciting story" you tried not to sound fed up but honestly you were not only had they made you feel insignificant, Jeongin couldn't believe they would waste their time on you and Seungmin had slept with Nali, not that he knew that you knew.
"I'm sure he didn't mean to scare you but we have both told you not to walk home after your night shifts and get an cab instead" Seungmin chastised you slightly.
"Did Nali take a cab home after you fucked her then Seungmin?" you snapped looking his dead in the eyes making him flush pink his mouth falling open "Yeah that's what I thought, I think maybe the no dating and no men thing is something I'll stick to for now but thank you for both spending your time worrying that I'm wasting my life" you seethed as you turned walked back to your room to get ready to go out. You had no idea where you would go you just needed to be away from them, it was irrational for you to be angry with them it wasn't their fault that Felix had made you feel like a fool but the fact that they defended him over listening to what you had to say had pushed you too far.
When you reemerged from your room both of the guys looked guilty since they must have realized that they had been overheard their conversations about you at some point but you didn't speak you just scooped up your bag and walked out needing time to calm down before you spoke to them again and apologized for being short with them. Just wandering you found yourself in the public gardens beside the university, you hardly ever took time to wander between your classes, studying, working you didn't actually have time to do much else. The gardens were beautiful in the quiet of the morning, still a little too early for the party goers to have emerged, it was still and quiet which made you feel calmer. Slowly making your way around the pathways you came across no one so you decided to just sit and think. Seungmin and Jeongin were right in a sense, you did live your life to meet your parents expectations and you did do everything you could for them to be proud of you but you were missing out. Maybe you weren't missing much in the way of dating morons or one night stands, which weren't your thing, but just the mere fact you had never even taken the time to actually wander the gardens that were so close to where you spent so much time did prove that you were missing out on really living your life. Sighing you knew you were going to have to apologize to them but only if they were willing to not dismiss you so easily.
"I didn't think gardens were your thing? they don't have anything to do with studying" his deep voice drawled from somewhere to the right of you, shaking you from your thoughts.
"You don't actually know anything about me Felix" you frowned looking towards him to take in his appearance. He wasn't in his trademark leather jacket and black jeans, just blue jeans and a grey hoodie, looking suspiciously young and innocent with the exception of the purplish looking bruise blooming on his cheek.
"I know, but maybe I want to" he shrugged walking over to you and sitting at the opposite end of the bench from you.
"Why bother I'm not going to be another conquest for you so I doubt I'm very interesting to you" you sighed trying not to sound annoyed at him and failing since his face fell slightly.
"Do you think I can't have friends? I don't have sex with every girl I know" he smirked as you looked over his face finding yourself drawn to try to count the freckles on the bridge of his nose.
"From your body count I doubt that very much and that wasn't there when I last saw you" you gestured to his face.
"No I got this later" he murmured looking sad for a moment before schooling his face.
"Want to talk about it?" you offered softly not knowing why you would even ask him, he kept giving you mixed signals and you couldn't decipher them.
"It was just a fight nothing important?" he shrugged fiddling with the cuff of his hoodie a bit. "I'm sorry I scared you last night after you got off work, I called after you but you obviously didn't hear me, I shouldn't have just grabbed you" he smiled at you this time.
"No you shouldn't have, grabbing a woman in the street at night is a dick move, but thanks I guess" you relented.
"Seung said you're doing accounting, do you like it?" he continued still smiling.
"Not really but it's what I'm supposed to do" you admitted reluctantly "I was interested in other careers but accounting is more stable I guess" you explained "What department are you in?".
"Arts" he smiled examining you closely "I'm doing English Lit, is it your parents wanting you to do accounting?".
"Umm... yeah" you nodded slowly now watching him as closely as he was scrutinizing you.
"It's hard to make your parents proud" he breathed sadness flashing across his eyes.
"Yeah it's almost impossible" you agreed clearing your throat awkwardly "I have to head back Felix bye" you half smiled standing up quickly you didn't like how unbalanced he was making you feel.
"You too Choi" he smiled leaning further back on the bench and closing his eyes. Your eyes lingered on him for a few more seconds before you left feeling less annoyed in general but still frustrated by everything.
The walk back to your shared apartment felt longer than it had on the way out this morning which you figured was probably the difference between annoyance and guilt. You could hopefully smooth everything over with Seung and Innie, after all it wasn't their fault you hadn't really explained the situation or how you had felt, you had tried to minimize it which of course would leave to misunderstandings. Plus you liked the boys they were easy to live with so you hoped they wouldn't ask you to leave. Keying in your code you slipped off your shoes and padded towards the kitchen where you assumed they would be to be once again caught in a situation where you were snooping.
"Chan, we didn't mean to make her upset" you could hear a voice whine over the phone.
"Not the point Hyunjin, Seung and Innie have potentially lost a housemate because you guys thought she was an easy source of amusement" Chan groaned and you just stayed still thinking about how to fake that you weren't overhearing another private conversation.
"She seems real nice too" another voice that you didn't recognize said.
"She's better than nice" Seungmin replied dryly "She's kind, sweet and always helpful, not to mention easy on the eye which helps".
"She is cute, is that why you decided to play her? she's the only cute girl one of the three of you hasn't fucked?" Innie almost spat sounding more annoyed that you had heard him before.
"It's not like that" Hyunjin instantly answered "It wasn't about teasing her it was about pissing off you guys and Felix, you should have seen the way he was looking at her she has him whipped and she doesn't even know".
"I highly doubt that" Chan sighed skeptically "Felix doesn't want a girlfriend he wants to stick his dick in every girl he can".
"She's too good for him anyway" Seungmin grumbled "too smart and too steady for the guy who can't date someone for longer than a fortnight".
"Damn Seung savage" one said but you weren't sure who as you crept quietly back down the hallway hearing them laughing, jamming your feet roughly back into your shoes to make nothing suspicious you loudly open and shut the door taking your shoes off again.
"Seung? Innie? you home?" you called down the hall knocking on each of their doors as you passed them.
"In the lounge" Innie called as you made your way into the kitchen and opened the fridge to grab some water.
"Alright look I'm really...Hi" you pretended to be surprised that there were other people in the apartment.
"This is Han" Innie smiled at you like he was actually thrilled you were home "I can't remember if you have met before and of course you know the others".
"Hi all" you waved from where you were standing "Han and I have met, I think I have met all your friends but one now" you poked your tongue into your cheek.
"Who haven't you met?" Seung tilted his head looking at you.
"I think his name is Minho, he's apparently glued to your mates Hyunjin and Felix" you smiled "I mean he waved but you have never introduced me to him, although same could have been said for Hyunjin".
"Yeah we did try to keep you away from them" Innie admitted as you walked around the kitchen island to move closer to the group lounging around on the sofas.
"I noticed" you chuckled "It's fine Innie I get it".
"No it's not because we think you need to stay away from them it's just that we know they aren't your type of person so.." Innie tried to explain quickly.
"Innie, it's fine I don't need to know all your friends I'm not your mother" you laughed rolling your eyes at him before retreating to your room.
"She seems fine guys I don't get why you were so panicked" Changbin chuckled as you shut your door.
"I get Felix's interest now she is pretty cute" Han whisper shouted making you roll your eyes as you heard Seung and Innie protest loudly and they all began bickering.
"Look we both get that she's cute but back off she's like super innocent the last thing she needs is any of you fuckers messing her around" Seung whispered back.
"When you say innocent?" Changbin asked softly.
"She hasn't hooked up with a single guy since she started collage, I'm pretty sure she's a virgin" Innie blurted like he was spilling some kind of tea which made you put your face in your hands embarrassed that they were discussing your sex life.
"How would you even guess that kind of information Innie, bloody hell if she overheard you know she would be mortified" Chan scolded.
"Trust me she is" you yelled through the door hoping that it made them cringe at the whole idea because you were mortified that it had been so obvious to Jeongin that you had pretty much no experience in that department, outside of a few sloppy make out sessions and the moment you lost your virginity which you hadn't enjoyed so you had never bothered to go back for seconds.
"Her bedroom walls are thin" Changbin laughed awkwardly as you flopped down on your bed hoping to not have to face any of them ever again.

Sirius Black, one of the most famous actors of the 20th Century. A womanizer of sorts. The media loves him, his family? not so much.
Wherever he goes, tragedy and drama follow. He's smart, he's cunning, he's charming, he's manipulative. He goes after what he wants and he always gets it.
He's had seven wives, or at least that's how the story goes. Everytime, he's pictured with some different woman. He never really manages to stay with the same one for very long.
He's never been one for subtlety. Always loud and obnoxious and transparent.
At least that's what the media thought of him.
An old Hollywood legend, friends- with the likes of James Potter, Lily Evans, the directors Mary McDonald and of course his own brother he rescued from their abusive parents, Regulus Black.
They're like a galaxy by themselves. Always revolving around one another. All of them stars, but Sirius burns the brightest.
Near the end of his life, he hires his godson to write his memoir. And so Harry Potter, son of James Potter and Lily Evans, writes the story of Sirius Black, his seven wives, James Potter and his "marriage" to Lily Evans and the peculiar case of Regulus Black.
The public goes crazy, naturally.
The book goes through Sirius' life. At first, how his parents were abusive, how Sirius learned the traits he mastered later to be a good liar, mostly as a survival tactic.
Harry has written about how eventually it got so bad, Sirius had to run away to his best friend's house. Fleamont and Euphemia Potter, both being in the film industry had no problem introducing James and Sirius as new talents. Nepotism gets you everywhere.
The book goes onto how Sirius starred in his first movie with James, something about two young boys during the World War. Sirius had finally found his calling. He loved it, the cameras, the attention, the articles. He absolutely loved it and he used his fame for everything.
After the release of his first movie, he gets a letter, just two words. Sirius, help. And so he does. Regulus was an adult by then, and yet unable to escape the grasp their parents had on him. So Sirius did what his baby brother asked. He helped.
The papers went crazy with that one. "FILM STAR SIRIUS BLACK KIDNAPS BROTHER FROM FAMILY HOUSE" It only makes Sirius laugh harder. Because the papers have always been wrong. There hasn't been a single thing in his life the Papers have been right about and if there was, it was because Sirius had laid all the answers in front of them, waiting for them to piece things together.
In any case, he continued his rise to fame. James' second movie was with an actress their age with flaming red hair and just as fierce a personality. James had been in love since the moment he laid his eyes on her.
Lily Evans had come from a poor background, with none of the connections Sirius and James had. And yet she'd proved herself multiple times.
They dated for a while in their early twenties, but it didn't seem to work out so they stayed friends.
Sirius' third movie, Regulus' first, was directed by a woman Sirius was first tongue tied around. Not in the romantic sense, Sirius had just never met a female director until then.
Mary McDonald was a force to be reckoned with. If Lily had been fierce, Mary was a whole different story.
As unprofessional as it was, they dated for a while. The papers had a field day with that as well. "MARY MCDONALD, DIRECTOR SLEEPS WITH ACTOR FOR CONNECTIONS"
Sirius never paid them much mind. He got what he wanted from Mary and so did she. When they eventually stopped dating because they figured out neither liked the other romantically, they continued to stay friends.
When Lily won her first well deserved award, they went out to celebrate. Just them. James drove, Sirius in the passenger seat, Regulus suffering in the backseat grumbling about how he'd rather be anywhere but there.
That's not to say the others weren't successful. James had girls wrapped around his finger, millions would literally throw themselves at him. And yet he never reciprocated, never went out with anyone after Lily.
He was a successful actor in his own right, films after films after films. He was a diverse actor, anything from biopics and romance to tragedy and comedy.
Regulus acted in plays mostly, though he did his own share of films. The public loved him, word on the street was- men mainly.
So they drove and drove to the middle of nowhere. Just Sirius, James, Regulus, Lily and Mary. Until they stopped at some shitty diner surrounded by nothingness as far as the eye could see.
That's where Sirius met Remus for the first time. Just a waiter, a snarky one that seemed to have no idea who they were and was downright rude to Sirius at times.
And still, they all came back. Again and again and again. When Mary won her first award for one of her films, when Regulus won awards for the musicals he starred in, when Regulus ditched theatre entirely and moved to music, when Sirius won his first golden globe- again and again and again. Somehow they always ended up in that diner.
Which is how Sirius found himself visiting the diner alone sometimes, just to get to talk to Remus in that small town where no one knew him. Which in turn is how he found himself in bed with Remus more times than just once.
So when Sirius won his first Oscar, he dedicated it to his Moony of course. And the public went wild as they had a reputation of. "ACTOR SIRIUS BLACK'S NEW SWEETHEART?"
It's not that Sirius hadn't dated before Remus. Hell, he'd even had a Vegas wedding with a fellow actress, a small wild fling with a famous singer and he'd lost track of all the women who wanted him. But this was different. As the times were, he knew the two of them would never be able to live as they wanted. Fame had given Sirius everything he wanted and yet it couldn't give him Remus.
They broke up, they made up, they got back together. Again and again and again.
Later, Sirius wondered why they wasted so much time.
Sirius caught James and Regulus in the bathrooms at the Grammys once. He'd groaned in disgust and made a huge deal out of it, teasing the two endlessly.
Regulus had been beetroot red even as he got on stage to collect his award. James had just hung his head in shame in the audience, only looking up during Regulus' speech where he thanked Sirius and "the sun" whatever that meant.
They were always in each other's orbit. Whether it was because James, Regulus, Lily and Mary wanted a child they decided to coparent, or simply because they were all just best of friends.
Remus didn't like the fame part much, but he tolerated it for Sirius' sake.
As always, rumors arose and so Sirius had to deal with them. He went in public, flirted with a few women, got into pr relationships and a few pr marriages over the following years.
His last marriage was to Mary, or rather his last legal marriage. Because in his heart, he'd been married to Remus as long as they'd been dating.
Fame trickled away, as it usually does. But they were immortalized for their works.
And now, after all of them had gone, Sirius would immortalize them for the right reasons. He wanted to tell the public their real story, not the one they had been acting in for decades.
And so Harry Potter wrote his book.

I went on tiktok to just watch some silly Odysseus videos but then I mostly saw people going like "Yeah, maybe Odysseus cried on Calypso' island every day but honestly he had that coming after what he did Achilles and Patroclous/Circe!!!" and "Everything that happens in Odyssey is deserved cuz he took Patrochilles to war!!!" and "I feel so bad for Circe and Calypso and Penelope, they deserved better!!!"
For fucks sake I beg you, read anything different from Millers bs and like educate yourself- And please stop goddamn saying that rape victim. deserved it.
Circe probably didn't give a flying fuck, Calypso is a rapist and abuser and Penelope deserved everything she wanted and SHE WANTED ODYSSEUS
I think I've had enough internet for today, imma go wash my eyes with bleach. Anyways sorry for ranting here, i hope you don't mind it lmao
It's alright. I absolutely understand the vents about the whole thing. :'D No one deserves to be a victim of such a thing no matter WHAT they've done. I hope your eyes are okay after the bleach
Like Odysseus does so many fucked up things but Calypso and Circe? He is the victim. Period. It's very clear that Odysseus is in extreme distress on Ogygia. And Circe wasn't some sort of FwB situation. There's fear and numbness in the language he uses when talking about it. There's so much victim blaming and it SUCKS.
While back then it probably wouldn't be considered SA but now? It clearly is.
Even then, Odysseus' journey was kind of about "temptation" or just straight up "Die or get out of my sea." From Poseidon. "I don't want you in my waters so I'm gonna try and give you things that will keep you on land or just kill you."
Immortal goddesses wanting you would be many people's dream come true but not for Odysseus. And I think that's the point. His determination, how he clawed his way back into the arms he never wanted to leave in the first place, is incredible. Many people would've given up and just started a new life but he never would because no life he could ever create would compare to the life he had before. Even if it's different, it's what he's always wanted.
He literally tells Calypso "I'm not stopping until I'm home. I don't care if I suffer more until I do. I'm going home."
“Mighty goddess, do not be angry with me over this. I myself know very well Penelope, although intelligent, is not your match                                          to look at, not in stature or in beauty. But she’s a human being and you’re a god. You’ll never die or age. But still I wish, every moment to get back to my home,                                                       to see the day of my return. And so, even if out there on the wine-dark sea some god breaks me apart, I will go on— the heart here in my chest is quite prepared to bear affliction. I’ve already had so many troubles, and I’ve worked so hard                                  through waves and warfare. Let what’s yet to come be added in with those.”
(Book 5, Johnston)
Circe's a goddess and what happened is nothing like Dionysus and Ariadne and Apollo and Hyacinthus for example. Circe never gave Odysseus a crown of stars and he would never go out of his way to kill 120 people for bothering her. They did not love each other and he can't refuse as she's a goddess.
If you interpret them sleeping together the entire year,(It's only explicitly said that they had sex once so that's what I go with personally.) that doesn't mean he was happy with it! Even then, the whole situation is not what a healthy FwB should look like! I'm asexual and even I know that no one in a FwB situation should have to BEG in any way that basically says "Please let me go or kill me" with supplication!!! The fact that he leaves so quickly he forgets one of his men? The fact that during Elpenor's funeral, he doesn't greet Circe himself? He was avoiding her. Wouldn't he want to get "one last night together" during Book 12 if they were fwb? 🙄
It's bonkers to me that people hate him for being a "cheater" when A.) having multiple lovers wasn't uncommon in Ancient Greece, and B.) the two people he is explicitly said to have "cheated" with, weren't his choice. He wasn't actively searching for pretty women either!!!
As mentioned, while it was common for men to have many lovers, Odysseus never had any listed unlike some of the other men. (not bashing any of them. I'm just making a point in comparison.) He also has no other children besides Telemachus in Homer's works. There's no evidence of him having other lovers other than speculation. (funny enough, I once read somewhere that the reason why Odysseus is so mean is because he doesn't "bond" enough with the other soldiers. 😂)
Does that mean he didn't have other lovers? Technically, Nope! It's just never explicitly stated either way. He has slaves but none were ever said to be concubines or that he sleeps with them. He has deep bonds with his fellow soldiers but that doesn't mean he sleeps with them. That doesn't mean people can't write or talk about him doing so even though it's not mentioned! Just like it also means that someone can write him not doing so as there's nothing that says it either way in Homer's Works! :D
It's fucked up when people say "He didn't try to leave Calypso enough" or something of the like. It just tells you how A.) they didn't read the Odyssey or have piss on the poor reading comprehension or B.) ...you should probably stay away from that person...
With Circe though??? I can understand the confusion but digging deeper and looking at the text, he wasn't having a good time. Or at the very least was walking on Eggshells the whole time. I hate bringing up that essay over and over again but like...I literally wrote everything there.
I also don't like how people take Circe's morally gray-ness away from her. Let her do something fucked up to be fucked up!!! Let her traumatize Odysseus!
Idk, I kind of hate that I'm "known" for this but I relate to this idiot asshole a lot and it means a lot to me that his story, despite what happens to him, has a happy ending :'D

Hershey’s Kisses
Pairing: Remus Lupin x Reader
Warnings: Angst, trauma, fluff at the end!
Summary: You know Remus loves you. It’s getting him to admit it that’s frustrating you. When your parents send you a bag of Hershey’s Kisses from America, you have an idea.
Prompt 1: "Are we really just friends?"
Prompt 2: "I don't like it when you say things like that. To me, you're perfect.
Tumblr media
"Hey Rem!" Y/n exclaimed, a big smile on her face as she fell into step next to him.
Remus gave the girl a small smile but remained silent.
Y/n frowned in concern, e/c eyes scanning his face and taking note of the bags under his eyes and the new cut on his cheek. It wouldn't leave a scar, but regardless. It was obvious that last night had been a rough one.
"What did Pomfrey say?" She dared to ask as they walked across the grounds towards the Black Lake where the rest of the Marauders and Lily were already lounging. It was Friday and classes had just ended, so everyone was in a good mood. Except for Remus, apparently.
He shrugged, "Nothing out of the ordinary. Just to go to her for a check up in a week to make sure none of the wounds become infected."
Y/n's gut tightened at his words. There were more wounds? How bad were they? Where were they? Was he in pain now? She opened her mouth to ask the millions of questions running through her mind but Remus put a hand on her arm to cut her off.
"I'm fine, Y/n. I promise," he murmured, looking her in the eye.
She sighed but nodded reluctantly, "Yeah, okay. But tell me if anything goes wrong, okay? I can see how tired you are. Last night must've been rough."
He gave another shrug, but she could see he was faking the care-free attitude. She knew him better than anyone.
"It was just another full moon."
  ———
Y/n and Remus had been best friends their whole lives. She had known him before the incident and she had stuck by his side after. She was the person who knew him better than he knew himself and he was incredibly grateful to have her in his life. The two of them had been inseparable since birth and nothing had changed during their years at Hogwarts. However, the summer before their sixth year, Y/n's family had gone on holiday to America. She had been gone the entire summer and Remus missed her terribly. When they finally reunited on the Hogwarts train weeks later, he had had the biggest shock of his life.
Apparently, six weeks had been enough to change the way Remus saw Y/n. Or at least, he assumed so. Technically, there was no difference between the way she looked now to the way she looked before she went away, but to Remus, she was now the most beautiful person he had ever seen. He found himself struggling to concentrate when she was around, his eye always being drawn to her h/c hair and her s/c skin. If she came too close to him his brain short-circuited due to her scent enveloping him.
It was ridiculous, he told himself. He liked to consider himself a logical person and it simply wasn't logical to be falling for his best friend. For any other person it might have worked out, but Y/n had been dealing with his condition their whole lives. It wasn't fair of him to hope that one day they might be more than friends when she had already given him so much of herself. Not that he believed she would ever feel the same. Yet he told himself that even if she did, even if she confessed to him, he would break her heart rather than force her to deal with his shit. He knew she deserved so much better than him. That she could find a guy so much better than him, who didn't have his condition and who would be able to provide for her. Because if he knew one thing, it was that it didn't matter how high his grades were or how hard he studied, very few people would be willing to employ a werewolf.
  ———
It had been three years since Y/n had fallen for her best friend. Three years since she had turned her head one day in Charms to see him sitting next to her just as he had been her entire life. Just as he would be for the rest of it—hopefully. She'd realised in that moment that there was no other person who she could rely on as surely and as comfortably as Remus. There was no other person she could count on always being there when she was upset or hurt. No other person she would willingly give her life for, because a life without Remus Lupin was not one she wanted to live.
In that moment, she felt her heart swell with love and affection for the werewolf sitting next to her, so unaware of the life-changing revelation she was going through. She knew that there was a big possibility he didn't feel the same and never would, but that didn't matter to her. Even if she had to go on loving him from afar, she would deal with it. She couldn't — she wouldn't — live without him. It was non-negotiable.
Even all these years later she still felt the same.
Y/n wasn't an idiot. She knew her best friend inside out, so she was well aware of the moment when he fell for her. She could see it on his face. The shock at the adoration that hadn't been there before. The sudden need to be near her, talk to her, touch her. She knew the feeling all too well, so when Remus went through it she didn't miss it.
  ———
It happened about a year ago on the Hogwarts Express. Y/n had been running late and had barely jumped on the train when it started to move out of the station. the steam from the engine filled the air and the chugging sound of the wheels pounded in her ears. She leaned against the wall to catch her breath as she waved to her parents who were beaming at her from the crowd. Then the train turned the corner and they were gone.
Her head was suddenly filled with thoughts of Remus. She hadn't seen him since the end of the school year. That was six weeks ago. They had been sending letters back and forth from America, but the journey was long for their owls who needed to rest so the two of them hadn't gotten to talk much. She'd missed him terribly and couldn't wait to see him. He was probably wondering where she was since she hadn't gotten to meet him on the platform. That is if he was even thinking about her at all...
Y/n shook those thoughts out of her head and started making her way up the train, looking in each compartment to see if she could find the Marauders. It took a while, but eventually she peered in one about halfway along the train and saw the four familiar faces she had been looking for. James was talking excitedly about something — probably Lily — and Sirius was the only one who seemed to be listening. Peter was fast asleep under a pile of sweet wrappers and Remus... Remus was staring out the window. You couldn't see his face, but by his body language you knew he was worried. His shoulders were tense and his book lay untouched next to him on the seat. That was the real tell. You knew Remus only left a book like that if he was too anxious to concentrate on it.
Smiling excitedly, Y/n pushed the compartment door open and declared, "Missed me?"
The boys all whipped their heads around to the sound of your voice. Even Peter woke up and blinked blearily at you. There was a moment of silence, but only a moment because then Remus was up and moving towards you, pulling you into a firm hug. The other boys were whooping excitedly, shouting your name. You giggled into Remus's shoulder and squeezed him back, impossibly giddy to be back in his arms.
"Of course I missed you, Y/nn," he murmured as he pulled away and your breath hitched.
There it was. The change in his eyes. The realisation of just how much he'd missed you. The shock at his new revelation. The surge of affection towards you, his best friend, who he hadn't seen in six weeks. You beamed up at him and suppressed the blush that threatened to take over your features at the intensity of the look he was giving you.
  "I missed you too, Rem."
  ———
It had been a year since then. A year of waiting for him to bring it up. A year of wondering if she had just imagined it. A year of thinking she couldn't have imagined it if he was still looking at her like that. A whole. Bloody. Year.
Y/n had started picking up on other emotions in his gaze after a while. Along with the affection and love in his eyes when he looked at her, she also saw pain and regret and sadness. So much sadness. It hurt her to think he was feeling this way but she didn't know how to help him. Whenever she tried to bring it up, he would change the subject or shrug it off as if she was just being silly. But she wasn't. She knew she wasn't and he knew it too, he was just too bloody stubborn.
By now, Y/n was so frustrated it wasn't even funny. That was why, when her parents sent her a bag of Hersey's chocolate kisses from their American Candy Stash, she had an idea.
It was Monday afternoon after classes had ended. Y/n and Remus were having their usual study session in the Library. As usual, the whole week leading up to the full moon, Remus had been extra... obvious with his feelings towards her. She assumed it had something to do with his ancient, primal instincts starting to take over. He would glance at her more often and opt to be as near as possible to her side whenever there were other boys around. It was a little funny actually, but it also meant that he would soon be acting the way he was now. Tired, worn-out, distant. It broke her heart every time. Just last week he was sitting so close to her his knee was pressed against hers and now... now he sat a good ruler's length away from her.
Deciding now was as good a time as any, Y/n reached into her satchel and pulled out her bag of Hershey's Kisses.
"Moony?" She whispered gently, touching his shoulder.
He grunted in answer, making her chest pang but she ignored it.
"Do you want a Kiss?" She asked.
Her best friend shot upright in his seat, his eyes wide as he turned his head to look at her, a blush evident on his cheeks. She suppressed a giggle, keeping her innocent expression on her face.
"What?" He croaked, still not noticing the bag of chocolates in her hand. Even if he did, she doubted he would understand by himself. She hadn't told him about the American muggle sweet before.
"Do you want a Kiss?" She asked again.
He blinked at her. Once. Twice.
She sighed and held up the bag, shaking it slightly, "A Hershey's Kiss Rem. Do you want a Hershey's Kiss?"
The realisation dawned in his face and he sunk back against his chair, "Oh, that's what you... yes, yes please."
Y/n gave a little chuckle and nudged him playfully, "What did you think I meant, Rem? Did you think I was offering you an actual kiss?"
He blushed again and forced a laugh out of his mouth, "Yeah right."
You watched in disappointed silence as he went back to his homework without another comment. This boy was just too stubborn.
That was it. You'd had enough. You knew he felt the same way. It was obvious. Yet he was still refusing to admit it!
"Stop it," she said suddenly, before she could stop herself.
He looked up again, brown eyes confused, "Stop what?"
She sighed in frustration and gestured to the space between them, "Stop this. This denial of your feelings. This refusal to do something about them. Do you have any idea how many signals I've given you, Remus John Lupin? How many opportunities you've had to finally act on your feelings? Don't think I don't know why you haven't taken the hint yet. Tell me, Rem. Are we really just friends?"
He swallowed, his expression becoming closed off, "I don't know what you're talking about."
Y/n glared at him and whispered furiously, "Stop lying to me! I know you better than anyone, Moony! Did you really think I wouldn't know if you had feelings for me?"
He turned his gaze to the book in front of him, refusing to meet your stare, "It's a lot more complicate than that, Y/n. If you know me so well, you'll know that too."
She rolled her eyes, "Oh don't give me that! I get it, okay? You think you're a burden on the people who care about you. You think they shouldn't have to deal with your shit. Well guess what, Rem? You're wrong. Very, very wrong. Because caring for you is a privilege, not a burden. Loving you is the best thing that has ever happened to me. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me. How many times do we have to have this conversation before it sticks in that big brain of yours?"
Remus clenched his fist around his quill and looked up at you, finally meeting your gaze, "An infinite amount of times, clearly, because you won't stop insisting on having it! Yes, alright? I love you. I'm in bloody love with you. But what I feel doesn't matter because I can never get married and have a family and do all that stuff that someone like you deserves. I'll be struggling from pay-check to pay-check for the rest of my life, so there is no way I will be able to give you the life you deserve. Merlin, Y/n, you have no idea how many times I've wanted to just screw the future and let myself fall for you, but I can't. Not when it's you're future on the line. You've given me so much of yourself, you shouldn't have to give more. You deserve someone who can love you freely without anything pulling the two of you down.  We graduate next year and while you'll be off becoming an Auror, I'll be searching the newspapers for someone who won't have qualms with employing someone like me."
Y/n was crying, tears streaming down her face as she saw all of her best friend's pain laid before her. All his self-hatred.
"I don't care about all that," she whispered, because they were still in a Library, " I hate it. I absolutely hate it when you say things like that. To me you are perfect. Don't you understand that? I've thought about our future too, you know? And every time I do, I'm not bothered by the fact that we might not be able to have kids or that you'll turn into a bloody werewolf every full moon because I'm too busy being happy that you'll be next to me. We'll be together for the rest of our lives. That's all I bloody care about, Remus, don't you understand?"
He just shook his head, and forced himself to look away from her tear-filled eyes, "Y/n I... I can't do this. I thought I could deal with my feelings while still being your friend but now... I have to go."
Y/n's heart stopped. Devastation filled her stomach and started rising to her chest. He couldn't mean what she thought he meant. Could he?
  But he did.
Y/n watched in shocked, mourning silence as her best friend — the only one she'd known would never, ever walk away from her — packed up his things and walked out of her life.
  ———
The following days and weeks blurred together. Y/n was broken. It felt like she was constantly crying, her heart the heaviest it had ever been in her entire life. She cried herself to sleep every night, and then cried herself awake after dreaming about Remus. She barely ate and when she did it was tiny morsels of food. The only thing that kept her going was her studies. She knew that she would forever regret it if her end of year grade was frightfully low because she had let a boy distract her. But he wasn't just any boy, was he? He was her best friend. Well, he used to be her best friend.
Y/n's dorm mates didn't know what to do. Lily, one of her good friends, watched her fight back tears when she accidentally stumbled across a picture of her and Remus from when they were seven. She watched as Y/n grew thinner and thinner from barely eating and sleeping. She watched her friend waste away for two weeks before she snapped.
"That's it," she muttered to James one day when she walked down into the common room after trying to coax Y/n into eating, but to no avail.
Her boyfriend's eyes widened, "She's still not eating?"
Lily nodded, "It's gone on long enough. I'm going to go talk to Remus. He needs to understand how distraught he's made her."
James looked weary, "Lils, do we really want to get involved in their business?"
Lily glared at him, "You might not have seen her James, but you've seen him. Do you really believe it's not worth is getting involved? How is Remus, James? Happy? Content?" She snapped, sarcasm practically dripping from her tone.
James sighed and shook his head, "You're right, as always. I've never seen Moony like this. He barely talks and when he does it's one word answers. He hasn't so much as touched a book in two weeks. He doesn't answer the questions in classes, he never joins in our conversations in the dorms even though he used to always have an opinion. He's a broken man, Lil. He needs Y/n."
Lily nodded, "Good. He should feel that way. I'm going to go talk to him."
  ———
Remus was sitting under the tree he and Y/n used to study under when the weather was nice. Tears rolled down his cheek as his fingers fiddled with the hair elastic Y/n had left in his room when they were nine. It was purple and stretched out from years of Remus fidgeting with it when he was nervous. Now it was damp with his tears as they dripped into his hand.
He missed her. He missed her so damn much it was excruciatingly painful. Everywhere he looked he was reminded of her. He couldn't even read a book without wondering if she would enjoy it. But he had to stay strong. He had to resist the urge to go find her and beg for her forgiveness. He was doing this for her, after all. Even if she ended up hating him for it, she would be better off.
  "Remus John Lupin!"
He whipped around to see Lily storming towards him across the field. She looked livid.
He sighed. He'd expected something like this to happen. Drying his tears he stood up and prepared himself for her reprimanding.
"You have to go fix this," she said, pointing towards the castle.
Remus shook his head, sadness threatening to take over again, "You know I can't."
She shook her head, "Bullsh*t! We all know your reasons Remus, and as much as we sympathise with you, Y/n is up there is that Tower crying her eyes out and you're the only one who can help her."
Remus looked down at the grass a muttered, "She'll be okay. Eventually she'll learn to hate me and it won't hurt as much anymore."
Lily gave a dry chuckle, "You really have no idea how much she loves you, do you? She hasn't eaten in days, Remus. Days! And the last time she did she got through a total of two grapes before she started crying again. She hasn't stopped studying which, although admirable, isn't healthy when going through something like this. She barely sleeps, and when she does she wakes up crying because she dreamt of you. You, Moony. You were her best friend. She once told me you were the only person she would gladly and without hesitation give her life for. And you love her. Who bloody cares about your condition and what it may or may not mean for your future. What matters is that you love her and she loves you and right now she's up there wasting away because you shut her out of your life. So my question is, Remus: What are you going to do about it?"
Remus's head spun. He'd known she was going to be upset for a few days after he cut ties with her, but it had been two weeks. And yes, Remus was also still upset but deep down he had never really believed anyone could love a monster like him as much as he loved Y/n. From what Lily told him, she was a wreck. All because of him...
She wasn't eating. The girl he'd seen gobble down a burger, a huge portion of fries and a double-chocolate and hazelnut sundae, wasn't eating. Remus was suddenly filled with a huge amount of dread and regret. He'd done the wrong thing. He had to talk to her. Make things right.
"Okay," he said to Lily, "Let's go."
They ran across the grounds and into the castle, sprinting through the halls and up seven flights of stairs to get to Gryffindor Tower.
Lily lead him up to the girls' dorms and stopped at one of the doors.
"She's alone in there," she told Remus, "Goodluck."
Remus nodded and, swallowing, opened the door.
The girl sitting on the bed across the room was the ghost of his best friend. Eyes red from crying, hair limp, cheeks pale. Yet she was still the most beautiful being Remus had ever seen. However, the detail that sent a pang of regret through Remus's very core was just how thin she was.
"Y/n," he murmured, tears springing to his eyes.
Her chin jerked up and her eyes met his. Immediately three fresh tears rolled down her cheeks.
"Remus," she breathed, voice trembling, "What are... what are you doing here."
Remus started crying then. Making his way over to the side of her bed he fell to his knees and took one of her small hands between two of his and pressed his forehead to it, shaking with sobs.
"I'm so sorry, Y/n. I'm so, so sorry."
She just stared at him, not sure what to say or how to react. For all she knew this could be a dream.
"I was an idiot," he whispered, looking up at her with his brown, tear-stained eyes, "I was a huge, bloody idiot for even thinking for one second that shutting you out was what was best for you."
She nodded slowly, tears still falling down her cheeks, as if her eyes were leaking.
"Damn right, you were," she murmured, managing a small smile. It was the first smile she'd made since that day two weeks ago.
He looked up at her with his big, brown, pleading eyes, "I know this is all my fault. I know I'm to blame. I just want to ask for your forgiveness, nothing else. I don't... I don't expect you to still feel the same way, or be ready to feel the same way."
Y/n slowly got up out of bed, pulling Remus up with her until she was hugging him. He squeezed her back tightly, burying his face in her shoulder and letting out another sob. She did the same, still struggling to believe it was Remus's arms around her, hugging her, keeping her safe again.
"All I want is for you to promise me you'll never leave me again," she whispered when she pulled away slightly to peer into his face.
He nodded firmly, cupping her cheek and wiping away her tears, "I promise. I promise I'll never leave your side for as long as we live."
She smiled at him properly then, and it was like the answer to the question he has been asking his whole life.
The kiss she pulled him into was sweet and sad at the same time, both of them still crying out of joy and sadness. They pulled each other as close as they could get, not wanting to ever let go ever again.
And yes, there would be hardships ahead if them. There would be money issues and furry little problems to deal with. But they would get through them, because they had each other, just as they always had and always would for the rest of their lives.

How are Garmadon and Kai (master of water) ? Does anything change about their relationship?
It depends on the time.
In the Pilot, Kai clearly disliked the guy for trying to kidnapp his sister. In the season 1, when Wu took Garmadon on the Bounty, Kai didn't trust him and just had an eye on him.
But later when Garmadon was cured, they were on good terms. Maybe they weren't close or anything, but from time to time they'd talk about Lloyd. Also Garmadon & Misako were curious, why Lloyd called Kai and Nya his siblings, so they started talking more.
And since we're talking about Garmadon-
I want to talk about his and Misako's character in my AU, since their relationship is much diffrent from the canon.
I want to say that their relationship is basically based on the ship #destructivedragonshipping / #theydeservedbettershipping
So if any of you aren't familliar with it, then here's the link to the explanation [and probably the creator of this ship, sorry I'm not 100% sure] :
(btw. beautifull art..)
Ok, so since you know about what I'm talking about now, I'll continue.
In my au Misako & Garmadon met on the battle field and fell deeply in love. They both deeply loved each other and wanted to settel down and start a family.
They got married. Misako started working as an archeologist and soon they had a beautifull son together. Unfortunatelly they happily life couldn't last for too long.
[Venom]
Over time, the power of the snake's venom in Garmadon only grew stronger and stronger, having more and more control over Garmadon's mind and heart.
Through the years Wu & Misako fully suported him, being by his side when the worse thoughts were comming to his mind, telling him things that he should do and making him go even deeper to the dark side-
They were always by him, but the 'attacks' were unpredictable.
But with time Garmadon was slowly becomming weaker and weaker to fight 'those thoughts' inside his head.
[The Loss]
At one point, when Garmadon was the weakest a voice told him 'Steal the golden weapoons' 'Do your worst' 'Rule the world' 'You need that' 'You deserve that-'
So when the time came and as Garmadon tired to steal the weapoons, he came across his brother, who, even though he didn't want to fight him, had to fight him.
During their fight in the end Garmadon was send to the Realm of Madness, which left Wu & Misako devastated.
The whole thing had happend, when Koko was at home with Lloyd, so she didn't even knew, until Wu told her.
After that Misako's & Wu's friendship started tearing apart.
The loss of Garmadon had a big impact of both of them. Wu was broken after loosing his brother, but didn't let himself even that 'distract' him form focusing on his mission.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile Misako took Wu's behavior very badly, thinking he was disrespecting Garmadon and even accusing him of not loving his brother.
After that they went they separated ways and didn't talk with each other for many years. [The bad taste remained for a long time.]
[New Problems]
With Garmadon gone, Misako was devastated and sad.. But even though that pain she was strong and determined woman.
While working, taking care of young Lloyd she started looking for a way to fix everything.
Koko could work for hours at night and prepare in scrolls, prophecies and chieroglyphs a way to get back and cure her husband of that devilish poison.
She knew that with this venom with which they had been fighting together for years.. It won't let her husband life in peace.
In the meantime her identyti as the Lady Iron Dragon was revealed to the entire public in the news and all her past enemies started comming after her and Lloyd.
Misako afraid of Lloyd's safety decided to distance herself from him to ensure his safety, so she send her son to school.
She couldn't have send Lloyd to his uncle after their 'argument'. Misako continued to hold great resentment over Wu's behavior.
At the beginning it was hard for her to find a school that would accept her son. After her identity was reviled and Lloyd was known as Garmadon's son it was hard got anywhere.
Fortunately Darkley's 'nice school' was able welcomed them with open arms. Back then Misako wasn't aware of the fact this school was to teach evil.
That's also why they were very found of Lloyd the son of Garmadon.
After that Misako set out on her own 'journey' with the pain of leaving her child behind. To keep in touch she decided to write letters to her son once a week.
Originally it was supposed to be short. As soon as her enemies were gone, she'd come back for Lloyd. Unfortunately, there was no indication of this and when she came across the green ninja's prophecy, everything got even worse.
And that's the story in short.
Fun facts:
During Lloyd's life in school excitedly counting down the days until the next letter from his mother arrived.
When Misako realises that her son run away form the school, she starts to look for him, until she recived a letter form Wu that Lloyd was with him.
When Wu & Misako met again in season 2, they anger is long gone. They clearly regret how things ended up and that they didn't have a proper talk.
After Garmadon was send to the Realm of Madness, he was still able to enter their world through the shadow.. So when Lloyd was in school he often visited him.
Llody used to play with the shadow of his father not even knowing it was his father. He called him Mr. Shadow.
Garmadon often watched in silence through his shadow how Koko was overworking herself just to help him. He never dared to speak to her or make her notice him.
There were few times when he wanted to touch his wife's hair thought his shadow, but always backed out at the last moment before he could try.

The Cullens as song's // HC
Song's I think the Cullens would be, based off of their personalities and their backstories. I couldn't find a song to fit Emmett, I've been searching for the last hour :/ Sorry to all Emmett lovers, he shall not be in this little HC. I hope you enjoy reading the rest though, please do let me know what you think the Cullen's would be as songs <3
MASTERLIST CULLENS
Tumblr media
Rosalie - Black Dahlia // Hollywood Undead
I think this song fits Rose the best because of everything she went through prior to being turned.
Like the apparent love of her life, future husband, using and manipulating her ??
He took everything from her, let others do things to her.
He's a lil bitch :)
The lyrics "and I've been abused, I feel so used because of you."
"The future that we both drew and all the shit we've been through. Obsessed with the thought of you, the pain just grew and grew."
Really sound's like something Edward would hear Rose think to herself whenever he would listen to her thoughts.
Her revenge was worth it though, she finally got to take something from him, like he had done to her.
"You just lay without a sound, seems like all we had is over now, you left to rest."
Major 'Lol I killed my stupid husband' vibes
Tumblr media
Edward - Parasite Eve // Bring Me The Horizon
Okay not to be one of those people, but considering Eddie boy over here was around during the Spanish influenza and almost dying from it; I kinda found this song fitting ??
'Parasite Eve' is about Covid, and both illnesses are similar; too similar in fact.
The lyrics "I've got a fever, don't breathe on me." and "Leave your flowers and grieve." Really scream Edward for me ??
We were all scared of big man Covid but imagine how terrified he must've been when he had the Spanish influenza.
Like he's just vibing one minute and then, boom, he's literally lying on his death bed.
Edward would probably really relate to this song, even if he's into classical; 'Parasite Eve' would be an exception.
Tumblr media
Jasper - Forest // Twenty One Pilots
Okay, I know what you're thinking but hear me out.
Lyrics "I don't know why I feed on emotion, there's a stomach inside my brain."
Signifies Jasper's gift of empathy and control of emotions.
"My brain has given up, white flags are hoisted."
White Flags were used during the Civil War to end it, a way to show they have surrendered.
Not only does those lyrics signify the Civil War, it could also be a metaphor for Jasper; he's given up that part of his life.
He doesn't want to let it corrupt him any further because he's guilty for playing a part in taking so many lives.
So, in turn, he's put up white flags to surrender and hope to start over; become a better person, vampire.
Tumblr media
Alice - Can You Feel My Heart // Bring Me The Horizon
Sweet little fairy.
Didn't deserve to be locked away in an asylum.
I think, in some way, this song is fitting for Alice.
Lyrics "Forgive me father, I love you Mother."
Make me feel like she would've said this a lot, thinking she was a disappointment to her parents for her gift.
"I'm scared to get close, and I hate being alone."
Definitely was something Alice had felt prior and post-vampirism, scared if she got too close to someone she could predict their fate.
But also being scared she would end up alone because people would be so weirded out by her gift.
Tumblr media
Carlisle - Put Your Head On My Shoulder // Paul Anka
Absolute sweetheart !
This song is just Carlisle to Esme, 100%
He's such a gentleman, even though his father was like a BIG priest dude who killed the supernatural and he caused Carlisle to turn ??
He's just full of love, no one can tell me different !!
Secretly, Carlisle is Paul Anka and wrote this song for Esme
So sorry it's short, Dr. Cullen is just an angel and didn't really have much corruption in his life ngl.
Tumblr media
Esme - Brick By Boring Brick // Paramore
For some reason I feel like this song definitely reminds me of Esme because of the meaning behind the song.
"The song Brick by Boring Brick is a story about a girl who escaped reality through pictures and fairy tales and anything that wasn’t the real story. This way, she’d look perfect to everyone else and we’d all think that she’s got it together. But being that it was all for show, it couldn’t last"
"Esme was born in 1895 in Columbus, Ohio, where she was treated at the age of 16 by Carlisle after breaking her leg when climbing a tree. She married Charles Evenson, but he abused her. After finding out she was pregnant, she ran away and gave birth to a son, who subsequently died a few days later."
Brick By Boring Brick resembles Esme's tough life from a young age, she was still only a child when she was to be married to Evenson, she didn't want to continue with the abuse she suffered.
So, she ran, she created a life where she would be happy, even though; if you looked a bit closer, there were cracks in her reality.
All she wanted was to be happy, but she also ended up losing her son in the process of freeing herself from the shackles of her abusive husband.
The lyrics "Well, you built up a world of magic, because your real life is tragic." Truly speaks on so many different levels how Esme presents herself to the world and everyone around, even though how she want's to be perceived is fake and in reality Esme has suffered a lot.
Not only with losing her baby but also she will never be able to have those years of her life back, it'll forever remind her of how badly she was treated. Just like Rose.

Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5
18 years old - Part 5
One year later you were still together as an official couple. You've never felt so happy. And neither did Ellie. She wasn't alone anymore. You started to sleep at her place most nights and spend most of your time together. You would never be away from her again. Nothing could break you apart.
Ellie started to paint canvases and you were still her favorite subject. You had found a stray cat one day and you both decided to adopt her. You gave her the name Laika. The same name of the first dog to go to space and come back alive since Ellie loved space so much. You loved the name and she used to always get into your lap when you were reading. It was really cute actually. She always purred when she was with you, but she liked to sleep with Ellie. She always cuddled her before falling asleep every night.
Life was beautiful with Ellie by your side. Everything felt easier somehow and she was always there for you even in your worst moments. Your father didn't accept that you were queer and had a really nasty argument with you about it and about Ellie. Your mother tried to reason with him but there was nothing she could do. Your mother grew to like Ellie very much and supported your relationship, but you didn't feel comfortable in your house anymore. Ellie never left your side and was there when you came out to your parents holding your hand. She defended you like any good partner would. You were grateful for her.
You did all sorts of things together. Went for hikes, went hunting together, went to all the movie nights in town and Ellie was able to become friends with Dina and Jesse eventually too. You went out on double dates a lot of times together, the four of you. You were happy. Happier than you had ever been. Ellie never felt alone or unwanted. You were there for her during the good and bad times.
She told you she was immune and why she didn't talk to Joel anymore. At first you didn't believe her but one day you saw her breathing in spores and you couldn't believe your eyes. Eventually she told you everything. All the things she had done before coming to Jacson for good and you just held her as she cried. You never once judged her, never once thought badly of her or her actions. Now you understood why she was the way she was, and it all finally made sense. Ellie felt so light after telling you everything. She never wanted to hide anything from you ever again.
Ellie had never told these things to anyone before. But to you, she told you everything. From her days in the Boston Q.Z. where she grew up as an orphan; and how she got bit with Reiley; the Fireflies; Joel and Tess; all the nasty things she had to do through their journey to Wyoming; the man she had to kill because of the unspeakable things he wanted to do to her, while Joel was sick and she had to take care of him through the winter, she thought he wouldn't make it, but he did; all the people Joel killed in the hospital; all the close calls she had with infected; all the trauma she had made sense now. All her fears, you finally understood them.
You loved her. All of her. Good and bad. Some days she felt like she didn't deserve you, but you stayed with her through all her hard times just like she stayed for yours. You felt like you were soulmates. You never wanted to not have her by your side. You couldn't imagine your life without her anymore.
You lived your days calmly and enjoyed life together. Some folk in town didn't like the two of you two being together but they were afraid of Ellie after one tried to hurt you and she intervened. She missed Joel very much but wasn't able to forgive him. At least not yet. She wrote a lot of songs, some for you, some for her, mostly to stop thinking of the bad things. To keep her demons away.
She had constant nightmares but you held her all night long if she needed you to. She wasn't the best cook in the world but enjoyed helping you in the kitchen and stealing some kisses here and there. Life wasnt perfect but with Ellie by your side it was so much better. She started patrols before you and was almost all she did because of her skills. You liked teaching the kids and were training to be a teacher. You tended to her wounds when she returned from patrol, she always told you you didn't need to but you helped her anyway.
Some days her PTSD was so bad that she would dissociate completely from her body and you would take care of her. Make sure she ate, and that she slept. You even gave her baths when she couldn't do it herself. She was so grateful to have you. She had never known so much kindness was possible in such a world.
One day you and her were on patrol together, as you pass by the abandoned town Where you found that comic book all those years ago. As you saw the bench where you read it together. You get off of your horse, Gem., you walk up to it and sit down looking at the view. Ellie stops and looks at you as she realizes where you were, and gets off of her horse Shimmer as well ,and sits next to you. As she sits she holds your hand. “It's been a long time since we were here last, hum..” She says in a sweet and soft voice. “It really has…” You say as you lean your head on Ellie’s shoulder. You admire the view over the valley together for a few minutes. Then Ellie gets an idea. She takes her switchblade out of her pocket and walks up to the tree on the right of the bench you were sitting on. She craves yours and her initials inside a heart. “There.” She smiles as she finishes and admires her work. You get up and walk to her. “What's that for?” You ask her sweetly as you smile. “So the world never forgets about us. Our love shall never be forgotten.” She says as she hugs you. “I love you so much, Ells.” You say to her as you're still hugging. “And I love you Y/N, more than anything.” She looks into your eyes and kisses you gently as she smiles slightly. You kiss her back, getting on the tips of your toes to reach her. You then sat down and watched the sunset together. Everything was alright in the world as long as you have each other.

normaler since there's a resurgence 🩷💜💙
YYEESSS LET'S GO NORMALER!!!! I ship them very much <3
What made you ship it?
I'm taking u to a journey back to the 2012 and I just... I'm amazed how vividly I remember this
so it's 2012 and I just watched The Lorax, being enamoured by Once-ler and the fandom. scouring through the internet I saw many ships but once I saw Normaler I thought to myself "yeah....no, nope" and went abt my day. but damn didn't they just grab me, I couldn't stop thinking abt them. I remember laying in my bed and thinking "maybe it's actually a good idea?" but I still wasn't sure. and then I saw THIS fanart and I was like damn. u got me, they're in love, I was a fool not to believe it
2. What are your favorite things about the ship?
I'm so happy that there's a Normaler Resurgence cause Ill be damneD they're forever to me. I've loved them for so long and I will loved them even longer
god just the,,, absolute beautiful love story there could be. of Once-ler who thinks he shouldn't be loved, that the love has to be earned every time but who yearns for it so much. and for Norma who is content with the life she has but yearns for sth different, sth more and who never realized that someone like Once-ler could steal her heart like this
but they do, they fall in love slowly and steadily, starting as the closest friends and then realizing that their love is just beyond any words they ever needed. I think what I truly love abt Normaler is how Norma is for me a grounded yet spunky person, while Once-ler is a dreamer, yet careful with his actions
u see what I mean, they better each other. with Norma giving Once-ler the home and love he needs, along with the appreciation and steadiness. while Once-ler wants to make Norma's dreams soar away and wants to make her as happy as she can be. they simply become each other's home, the culprit of a tomorrow they never knew they needed. honestly I believe they both never knew they needed each other but when love found the it was the most beautiful duet
and then the delicious angst of them during the Greed-ler years just DAMN that's good. I love the angst and I love the drama. whether they'd be engaged or married at that time, I eat that shit up so hard. they both knew how to hurt each other way too well. Norma knew she couldn't stay with a man like this, one who becomes so selfish. he's not the starryeyed man she fell for
but then the wonderful reunion after the years. when they are older, wiser and Norma is ready to forgive Once-ler. the years might have passed but their love have never withered. and it's not that the only happiness they could have was in their youth, as their happy ending was when they were both old <3
also can I just say THE HEIGHT DIFFERENCE!!!! the sun/moon symbolism. the fact how close to canon they are. the fact that they can have a daughter and grandson in canon. I'm a goner, I swear
3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
Norma is her own person and deserves her story too! and again, don't make them that toxic, they had disagreements but I believe they never abused one another. also anyone who thinks Normaler is too "vanilla" or that it's just a culprit for fangirls to project onto just......literally think to urself, why is any of this a bad thing

Hey folks! This is my fic for the @valentines-core-exchange, going to @ghostypeppers! I did Johnny/Kitty, before they died. I hope you like it!
Johnny wasn’t one for reflection, or introspection, or really any of the -tions. At least none that he could think of, which was admittedly just those two. It just wasn’t in his nature to think back on things, or think things through, or think about what he really wanted, or think at all. It took too long, and he was never good at it anyway.
He always tried for Kitty, though.
He didn’t do it well, and he certainly didn’t do it as often as he should have, but he tried. It was why he stayed in their hometown so long, couch surfing with whatever pitiful mother would let him stay for a few nights before kicking him back on the street like his own pops had done. Johnny wasn’t about to leave her, and he wasn’t going to make her drop out just to stay with him. She deserved a chance at a good life, even if he’d given up on his.
It didn’t stop either of them from burning rubber the moment she had her diploma in hand, tearing across the country with nothing but the few bags they could fit on his bike and her arms wrapped around his torso. It had been their dream, ever since they started dating, to leave that shit hole of a city behind them, to never look back, even for a moment.
Johnny thought that would’ve been easy. There was nothing fond to look back on, not for her and certainly not for him. As far as he was concerned, the only good thing to ever come out of that place sat in his lap, with the scent of just-bleached hair clinging to her skin.
On nights like this one, it was harder said than done.
It was raining. It had been for the better part of their day, and both they and their stuff were soaked completely through. Maybe if they had a place to stay for the night, it wouldn’t have mattered as much. Sure, they didn’t need an excuse to sleep naked with each other, and they’d certainly done more than just “sleep” in the past, but having one didn’t hurt any.
But they didn’t have a place to stay. Every motel, hotel, and hostel had been either booked full or charged more money than either of them had seen in weeks, so instead they were stuck outside. Johnny’d tied the tarp he covered their bike with up against a lamp post and a stop sign off in the corner of the parking lot, giving them the illusion of cover if nothing else. There was hardly enough space for the two of them, even with Kitty in his lap, and the ground was wet and cold and hard beneath him. To say the experience was miserable would be an understatement.
Even he couldn't resist looking back on life when things went like this.
He didn't regret leaving. Johnny couldn't imagine ever regretting that. It was the closest thing to a life goal he'd ever had, and he'd take a thousand nights on the pavement over another week in the house he'd been raised in, because at least in the morning he knew he'd be able to get off the pavement. What he regretted was dragging Kitty down with him.
He wouldn't take credit for how things turned out for her. Mostly because she'd slap him if he tried. She always said that she worked hard to fail this spectacularly, but he wasn't an idiot, no matter what everyone already told him. He knew that if he hadn't shown up in her life, she might be at home safe, or at least making dumb decisions at three in the morning with a home to go back to.
He first met her under the bleachers during 3rd period. He intended on taking a smoke break, probably until lunch, when he could slip back into the building to grab whatever slop they were serving up. He'd figure out if he'd stick around for the rest of the day after that. He hadn't expected for someone to already be hiding out down there.
At the time, Kitty's hair was long and blonde, pulled back into a high ponytail. She had nice clothes, and neat makeup, and beautiful brown eyes that hardened into a glare the moment he walked into sight. He remembered just standing there, the cigarette he'd already gotten out nearly falling out of his hands. She was gorgeous. Breathtaking. The hottest chick he'd ever seen. Or at least, the hottest one he'd seen today.
Her attractiveness was only magnified by the venom that seemed to drip out of her voice. "Oh, you are turning your ass right around, do not even think about trying me."
It took Johnny a minute for his ears to catch up with his brain, and then another minute where his mouth did nothing but flop open and closed like a fish. When he finally figured out how to work his mouth again, it twisted into a smirk. "Well, I'd much prefer it if you turned your ass around, but if you insist I put on the show..."
She sputtered. "What did you just say to me?"
"I'm saying that if you want a look at my ass that bad, you only need to ask, kitty."
"Oh, so you're going to pull that card huh?" She took a step towards him. "Well, if you want to play like that, you should know that this kitty," she spat the pet name out, "has claws. And I'm not afraid to use them."
Johnny let out a low whistle, and held up his hands. "I can recognize a no when I see one. I'll find somewhere else to smoke."
He turned around, lifting his leg to climb out of the bleachers, when he felt a hand on his shoulder. "Wait," she said, and Johnny turned back around with one eyebrow raised. "Do you have another?"
"Maybe," Johnny said slowly, lowering his leg back to the ground. "If you pay the right price."
She removed her hand from his shoulder and held it out to him expectantly. "What I'm willing to do is let you stay here instead of having to wander across the football field in plain sight of the teacher's lounge."
Johnny weighed his options. He was normally after actual money when he sold cigarettes to students. "You know what?" he said finally. "You got yourself a deal, doll." He passed the cigarette he was still holding into her waiting fingers, before pulling out another for himself.
"I do have a name you know," she said, lowering herself to the ground. Johnny followed suit.
"Not one I know of," he said. "So until then, I get to call you whatever I want, sugar."
She opened her mouth to answer with what he assumed would be her name, before closing it slowly. "You know what? Call me Kitty all you like. It ain't like you're going to need to know my name anyway." She held her cigarette out for a light, and Johnny obliged before lighting his own.
"And here I was hoping I'd be able to see you again. Maybe tonight? The place on 8th street?"
Kitty snorted. "In your dreams. You're lucky you're getting to see me now."
She brought the cigarette to her lips, and Johnny watched how her lips pursed around it as she inhaled, parting a moment later to let the smoke billow so gently from her mouth. "Damn right I am," he said, lifting his own cigarette. Before it reached his face, his arm was knocked off track. "Hey!" Johnny exclaimed. “You punched me!”
"Yeah, and I'll do it again if you aren't careful."
Johnny swallowed hard. "Understood." This time, he was able to smoke unimpeded. Neither of them said another word, not until the faint echo of the bell marking the end of the period came from the school, and Kitty stood up.
"You heading out already?" Johnny asked without moving from the ground. "And after everything you did to make sure that this spot stayed yours."
"Yeah, well I'm done with it. If you want my sloppy seconds that bad, you can have them." Kitty didn't bother looking behind her, just waved him off as she climbed through the bleachers.
"See you around, Kitty," Johnny called just as she was about to disappear from view.
"In your dreams, dickhead," she called back, and then she was gone.
The cigarette Johnny held now was not the brand he liked, and it left a foul layer of something coating his tongue and teeth. But unlike the rest of their things, it was dry and warm and best of all, they'd gotten it for free, a pity gift from the clerk at the last hostel they tried.
"You two look like you need it more than I do," he'd said. He'd been right.
It took a few tries to get his lighter to work. He lit Kitty's first, just like he always did, and then lit his right after. The soft, orange glow that lit up their faces was a nice reprieve from the torrential rain.
"You're thinking," Kitty said.
"That doesn't sound like me," Johnny replied.
"Yeah, that's why I know you're doing it. I can hear the rust in your brain."
Johnny laughed. "Damn. Shows what I get for forgetting I had one."
"Yep," Kitty said. "So, are you gonna tell me what you're thinking 'bout, or will I need to pull it out of you?"
"Well, that entirely depends on how you're doing this pulling." Johnny couldn't see her face, not with how she was positioned in his lap. He didn't need to; he could envision the way she raised her eyebrow, the quirk of her lips in a smirk, the slight roll of her eyes. He could see her hair clinging to the side of her face, the green streaks of hair dye the rain had washed out covering her cheeks and forehead.
She grabbed a handful of his hair and yanked in one smooth, practiced motion. "Like that."
"Fine, fine!" Johnny called out. She let go, and he moved his hand off of her hip to rub at his scalp. "You know, I'm normally a fan of hair pulling."
"I think you're a fan of the things that happen alongside hair pulling," Kitty corrected. "Now, spill."
He held his free hand up in the air in surrender, before letting it settle back into her lap. "Fine, fine." He took a deep drag of his cigarette, coating his mouth in the flavor and smoke. He held it in a beat longer than he normally would, before letting the smoke curl past his lips. "Do you... ever miss the life you were supposed to have?"
Kitty snorted. "What, churning out babies for some bastard like my sister’s doing? Not a chance."
"Yeah, you're right."
"Like always," Kitty added immediately. For a few moments, there was only the sound of their breathing and the pounding of rain against the tarp above them. "You're still worried about something."
"Who, me?" Johnny asked.
"Yes, you. Fess up."
He took a deep breath, this one not carrying any nicotine with it, before answering. "I wish things weren't like... well," He gestured with his cigarette at the parking lot they were in. "...this."
He felt rather than saw Kitty nod her head. "You know, my parents always warned me about guys like you," she said. "Always said that someone like you would come into my life, seduce me, and then leave me high and dry on the side of the road with nothing to my name, and when that happened, they wouldn't let me come crawling back to them. They were right. You're a mess. You have no money, no prospects, no job, and even if we were in any town long enough for you to get one, we both know you wouldn't be able to hold it down longer than a week."
Johnny waited as she puffed her own cigarette. She wasn't finished. At least, he hoped she wasn't finished. "It'd be easier to count the number of waitresses you haven't flirted with while we traveled than the ones you have," she continued. "We fight all the time about anything and everything. And then I leave. But you know what?"
She ground the cigarette butt into the ground next to her, casting it to the side without a thought. "You've never once been the one to leave me. Even when I yell that we're done and run off into whatever city we've found ourselves in, you always hang around until I've come back around, even though staying in one town too long makes your teeth itch. And every time we're anywhere new, you insist on bringing me to a pet shop to 'meet the natives,' and last week when we arrived in Scottsboro you had me pick up Chinese for us because that calico decided you were the perfect nap spot for like, three hours. I have to admit, she has good taste. "
Kitty spun around in his lap so that she was facing him now, wrapping her legs around his waist. "My parents were right. Running away with you means we're never going to be anything important. If I had stayed at home, maybe I'd be married to a doctor or a lawyer or an accountant or any kind of respectable job, and maybe I wouldn't be freezing my ass off out here. Maybe you did ruin the life I was supposed to live. I would've hated it anyway. At least this way, I get the chance to actually live , not just slog through the life someone else picked for me."
She leaned closer to him, lifting her face so he could smell the smoke on her breath. She looked exactly as he knew she would. "We're never going to amount to anything, but if we were to die tomorrow, the only thing I’d regret is not running away with you sooner."
Johnny smiled, extinguishing his own cigarette without breaking Kitty's gaze. "Careful, kitten. It almost sounds like you love me."
"Well, maybe I do," she said. "You just need to shut your brain back off and realize it."
"That is something I can do," he replied, just barely above a whisper, before leaning in and capturing her lips against his own.
She was right. They were never going to amount to much of anything. They were never going to be good people. They were never going to have a normal life.
That was fine by them. Normal never suited them anyway.

"It was never about winning." for Sweet Tarts [insert eyes emoji here]
Normally Carrie would never put any merit to a high school talent show. She performed at almost every spirit assembly and did gigs on the regular-everyone knew how talented she was. And it wasn't like the prize was anything spectacular to entice her.
But then Julie and her hologram band entered.
Not one to be outdone by some fancy projections, Carrie signed her name to the form, recruiting the Candis for a brutal practice session that was sure to wipe the floor with whatever Julie could come up with.
Look, she knew Julie was good, there was denying that. And she knew winning wasn't everything. But there was something about being pitted against Julie that always drove up her competitive side.
All her life she had been compared to Julie, even when they were small kids. And though Carrie lived in a mansion with a millionaire rock star dad, it always seemed like Julie won.
She had the loving, present parents, the praise of teachers, the attention of Andi Parker, a spot she gain back after hijacking a spirit rally.
Callie meanwhile worked and trained and strived to reach half those heights. So who could blame her for wanting-nay deserving some of that praise and admiration? Couldn't she just win for once?
The day of the talent show, she was pacing backstage, waiting for her turn. Watching as each other paltry act went on, judging them and hoping she would blow everyone away.
As a result, she wasn't watching as she paced, meaning she slammed into someone who was walking around backstage.
"Watch where you're going you-" Carrie cut herself off as she starred into a pair of bright green eyes and blushing, freckled cheeks. "Oh, you're a part of Julie's band."
"Guilty as charged," he said with a chuckle. "I'm Reggie. You're Carrie right?"
"Yeah," she said, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear. "Wait, I thought you guys were holograms?"
He ran his fingers through his hair. "Yeah, we normally are, but we came to visit Julie and decided to give y'all the live experience."
"So no hologram schtick?" Carrie snarked.
He grinned and shrugged. "Figure it's about time to let the music speak for itself."
"You're so right!" Carrie exclaimed. "Not that I can say much about gimmicks given the whole-" She waved at her Pink Candi gear.
"Well then, may the best band win," Reggie said, offering her a hand to shake, which she took. His handshake was firm, dry, and strong-she appreciated that.
"Oh I will," she said, grinning at him, liking his surprised, full laugh as he stalked off.
She gave it her all, smiling, dancing, singing her bedazzled little heart out. She knew they deserved to win, to finally beat Julie at something.
Sure, Julie and her band were great, even without the band blinking in and out during the set. And she honestly did wish them well. Julie was talented, and Carrie didn't want her to fail. Just not to skyrocket ahead of Carrie.
Yet Julie still won.
Carrie stood off to the sidelines, keeping a stiff upper lip, attempting valiantly not to cry. It was so stupid-it was only a measly little talent show, worth nothing in the end. Yet she couldn't even win that.
She slumped down backstage, head in her knees as the reality washed over her.
"Hey," Reggie said, sitting next to her. "Next time right?"
Carrie shook her head. "It was never about winning."
"Then what was it about?"
Carrie let a single tear fall. "Being enough."

I have an idea for a cute Dylan x reader request! So Dylan’s 6’2 making him very tall with a girlfriend reader who’s like 5ft or so who Dylan’s likes to tease and torture since then she will have to ask him for his help to get things that are taller and that he likes to help him and get stuff from her in return. (He moves her stuff on purpose) But during the summer camp she’s been noticing a lot of her stuff being moved higher with Dylan who always helps, so she decided to tease him in return by asking Jacob to get those items instead (since he’s also tall and got explain what’s happening so he gladly helped) and Dylan’s like wtf man and she tells him what he does which he tries to deny but she just stares at him like really? And he confesses why and that’s she’s really cute with her height
Tumblr media
Disclaimer: I will not write for Dylan and a female reader in any capacity as I believe he is gay. However, I will still write these kinds of requests for male readers as I believe they deserve the content.
I combined the two above requests as I didn't want them to either be too short or too similar. Also never apologise for sending in too many requests!
Word count: 894
Genre: fluff
Tumblr media
If there was one unfortunate truth you had to face early on in life it was this, you were short. You were almost always the shortest person your age everywhere you went and now as a counsellor at Hackett’s Quarry even some of the kids were taller than you. Causing you to develop a spiritual presence that more than made up for your lack of physical stature.
It had been a few weeks at camp and Dylan had quickly established himself as the bane of your existence but you had well and truly gotten it through his skull that one more short joke would lead to a punch in the dick. He’d quickly backed off from most of the verbal teasing but every time you needed to reach something off a high shelf he would inexplicably be there, standing with his body pressed against yours to reach the object for you.
At first you hadn’t really suspected anything but then items you had sworn were placed on lower shelves suddenly appeared in places you definitely hadn’t left them. Places outside your current reach and sure enough, Dylan would be there with a grin and item in hand before you could protest. Narrowing your eyes as he held the latest item over your head in an attempt to watch you jump, you decided that two could play at this game.
The next day you tracked down Jacob to enlist his help, explaining that you thought Dylan was purposefully moving your things to higher shelves and that you wanted Jacob to help you get things down. Jacob readily agreed to help just happy to be included. Unfortunately, he couldn’t always be around so Dylan still had to help occasionally but you and Jacob had taken it a step further and fixed your schedules to near match the others. A lot of extra time spent around Jacob had you realising how sweet he actually was and the two of you became pretty good friends.
Tumblr media
Dylan was getting irritated, initially he hadn’t clocked onto the fact that Jacob had replaced him as high shelf object grabber. The first few times it happened he just figured that Jacob had seen you struggling before Dylan could help and the counsellor being the good person, he was offered to help you. However, a week had passed and he noticed that Jacob was suddenly inexplicably always in your space. He had been replaced and what was even worse was that you actually thanked Jacob every time he helped, with a genuine smile and everything. He’d even upped the ante and moved more and more of your stuff at more frequent intervals but now Jacob was pretty much constantly around you. He had found out from Nick that the two of you had moved around your schedules so your timetables were similar. He had ended up confronting Jacob that afternoon, grilling him on your alleged relationship only to be further frustrated as the man in question just laughed and said you were really good friends.
It had been a few days since Dylan had helped you get something down and you were beginning to wonder what had changed. Sighing once again as you noticed the book you had been reading placed above your reach you were grateful Jacob was already in the room as he grabbed it for you without needing any words. Turning your head a the feel of eyes on you, you noticed Dylan’s dejected gaze on you, watching as Jacob handed you something yet again. Deciding to finally confront the tall menace you thanked Jacob before heading over to where Dylan was standing. Stopping in front of where he was sitting you raised an eyebrow.
“You know if you wanted to talk to me, you didn’t have to keep moving my stuff” you said pointedly, one hand on your hip.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about” he tried to dismiss but faltered under your intense gaze. “Ok, I’ve been moving your stuff” he admitted “I just wanted to spend time with you and I thought it was really cute when you couldn’t reach things. I’m sorry it got so out of hand” he sheepishly admitted, averting his eyes and nervously twiddling with his hands. Laughing lightly you nudged him
“If you stop moving my shit I’ll hang out with you all you want” you promised causing his gaze to shoot to you with wide eyes. “In fact we can start now” you said, grabbing his hand you dragged him out of the lodge, his form towering over you comically.
That was how Dylan spent the rest of the summer camp, being hauled around behind your smaller body. The kids and even your fellow counsellors laughing at the scene in front of them, neither of you cared much, and Dylan looked forward to inevitably being dragged around by you. You had also started to initiate much more physical contact to his delight, pulling him into hugs that ended up engulfing you in his form. Whenever Dylan was feeling in more of a cheeky mood he would swoop you into his embrace, squishing you against him and preventing any hope of escape. You couldn’t say you minded too much though, it was comforting and you had grown to enjoy being trapped in your now boyfriend's arms.
