Astrology Is More Than Just Your 'Sun' Sign
Whenever I see posts on social media, such as Facebook or Instagram, with memes based on zodiac signs (things like 'Signs most likely to get in a fight', 'Signs that KEEP IT 100', etc.), it irks me to know that most of these people probably don't understand astrology at its core, and don't look anywhere beyond the Sun sign.
You might say I'm a hypocrite because I post similar pics and memes based on the same argument I'm trying to oppose. However, I want you to note that I'm not exactly portraying certain heroes and characters based on their Sun sign per say, but on the sign ITSELF.
In order for people to get a better understanding of astrology at its core, I like to tell them that a person or even a collective group of people don't make the sign, its element, planet, modality, and house ruler does. The sign at its very nature should be the main component and topic of focus before considering any sort of superficial and stereotypical behavior from people (Ex.- Leos being attention seekers, Virgos being picky, Scorpios being scary, Geminis being crazy). We should understand the factors that make the sign what it is, to better understand WHY a Leo might be egocentric, or WHY a Scorpio would be vengeful.
Basic formula for understanding a Sign in its raw nature:
S= ELEMENT+PLANET+MODALITY+HOUSE
I'll give a basic example based on my Sun sign Leo.
Leo=FIRE+SUN+FIXED+5TH HOUSE
Leo=Visionary+Goals+Sustaining+Creativity
If you can manage to break down a sign just like how I did, and see the pieces that make it all one, understanding the definition of a sign becomes much simpler and more accurate, because you're not just quoting magazines, articles, or some silly quiz or Facebook post. This time, you're looking at the sign for WHAT IT IS.
So when I get comments on things like my Avatar TLA Zodiac Character post or superhero posts about how their signs match with a certain character, know that I'm not just basing these things off their Sun sign, but ALL the workings if the sign at its core. It could either be their Moon, Mercury, Mars, Saturn, Jupiter, and more to describe them.
