CHWHWN: 07. December - "handshake"
Tumblr media
Kacchan: Omg you are such a looser gahahah Deku: Why? What did you get? Kacchan: *image attached* What is this even?  Deku: A smiley face? What else would it be? Kacchan: Pathetic Get over here asap I'll give you a handshake for the ugliest doodle of the century hahah Deku: No need to be mean..! (ಥ﹏ಥ) Kacchan: Being mean is my core strength. Deku: Do it better then. Kacchan: Huh? Deku: Draw a better smiley face. And then we ask the class who can do it better - And then the winner shakes the loser's hand.  Kacchan: Bet, LOSER
Izuku strolled into the classroom and his eyes immediately fell on Katsuki, who was sitting at his desk, hunched over, the tip of his tongue in the corner of his mouth, scribbling furiously. Trying not to draw attention to himself, Izuku sneaked over to his own desk, put his backpack on his chair and stopped himself from risking a glance to the front. Next to enter the room was Eijirou, sleepy and cheerful, giving everyone his typical pat on the back, throwing his bag on his desk and sauntering over to Kacchan. "Morning, bro. Don't tell me you didn't finish your homework?" "Shut up," was the simple reply, and Kirishima interrupted his hearty yawn to stare at him in surprise. Meanwhile, Izuku loaded his desk with books and his pencil case. "What are you doing?" "What does it look like?" Kacchan continued to scribble for a moment and then lifted his paper so that Kirishima could have a look at it. From his perspective, Izuku couldn't see the result yet, but he could clearly see Kirishima's face scrunching up in an effort not to snort. "That's…" he looked at Izuku of all people for help, but he was no help at all, "... lovely. Is it a flower?" The sheet was torn from Katsuki's grasp and Denki held it up to the light. "I think it's a sun." Hanta stepped up beside him and looked up at the paper, then down at Kacchan, who slumped back into his chair. "It's an angry smiley face," he explained matter-of-factly. Denki lowered the paper with wide eyes and exchanged a doubtful look with Sero. "Obviously," he nodded and gave Katsuki a thumbs up, the corners of his mouth quivering with suppressed laughter. "Better than this, right?" Izuku recognized the small note, or what was left of it. Kacchan had apparently cut off the part with the writing and slid the small rest with the microsmile across his table. His three friends leaned over the tiny piece and seemed even more confused by it than by the fact that Katsuki was drawing sun-like smiley faces. "Dude, what the hell?" Denki laughed and tried to grab the little green snippet, but Kacchan had carelessly blown it off the table. "Defeated, Deku," he announced with the confidence of a professional and turned to Izuku with an outstretched hand. Izuku raised his eyebrows curiously at the paper in Denki's hands before he shrugged, "I haven't seen yours yet." "You don't have to," Kacchan gestured to his friends with a nod of his head, "they've already decided." And suddenly, he snatched Izuku's right hand, which had been lying innocently on the table next to his pencil case, and shook it violently. "Always a pleasure to compete against you, loser." "But-" Well, his objection was lost in a small explosion and a surprised cry as Kacchan, without a care in the world, set fire to the paper still in Denki's fingers.

Part 4 Characters Reacting to You Saying That You Can Hold The World in Your Hands and Then Holding Their Face
One lengthy ass title, but I've seen this concept from multiple blogs and that shit is so cute?? I live for cheesy fluff so much
Tumblr media
~ Josuke Higashikata~
You were hanging out in Josuke's living room, watching him play videogames
It was fun for a while, but 10 min in you got bored and decided to mess with your boyfriend, who blushes easily
"Hey Josuke, I wanna show you something! " You quickly scooted yourself in front of him, not really caring about the game over screen going off in the background
"Hey! C'mon, what's so important that you couldn't wait?" You looked at him with a mischievous smile, "I can hold the world in my hands! " You proceeded to squish his face between your palms and you could see his face turn a light shade of pink and a dorky smile spread across
I don't care if this sounds out of character, dude is the type of guy to say "Aw shucks" unironically. That's exactly how he responds
Did you tease him about his response? Absolutely. Did he get you to stop laughing at him by kissing the tip of your nose? Of course
~Okuyasu Nijimura~
You both were walking around after a date at Tonio's and were goofing off
"Hey Oku, did you know I can fit the entire world in my hands?" "Sorry to break it to you Y/N, but I don't think that's possible. " Queue the plopping your hands gently on Okuyasu's face. "No, look, you're wrong!"
It took him like 5 whole minutes of him trying to understand until he actually got it.
"Huh? Oh,,,OH AWEE BABY THATS SO SWEET" Okuyasu brought you in a bone crushing hug, crying about how that's the cutest thing someone ever told him
He brought his hands up to your face and scattered kisses all over to show extra appreciation
~ Rohan Kishibe ~
Rohan isn't a man to get easily flustered so lately you've been trying to get him off guard and hope for a blush, maybe stutter if you're lucky
It was one of those rare occasions where you were able to get Rohan to take a break from his work and just have him relax with you while you're watching TV
Maybe while in this peaceful atmosphere you could catch him off guard and get him to blush
Quickly you turned towards the artist and held his face in your hands and with a giddy smile you say "I can't believe it, I can fit the entire world in my hands!"
He just kinda deadpanned and with a smushed face "Darling what are you doing? That sounds so cheesy too"
Mission failed. We'll get em next time
In the middle of pouting over your failed attempt, you missed the silent laugh that Rohan made at your statement
~Jotaro Kujo~
Please don't do this I feel like you'd end up causing an accidental ptsd flashback once you say "the world."
~Yoshikage Kira~
Everyday he managed to fit in you and him time before he gets dressed for work and that's usually just you two cuddling and good morning kisses
You were someone who filled up the housewife/househusband role in the relationship, so you savored these moments knowing you wouldn't be able to see him that much throughout the day
"Sweetheart, want to know something fascinating? I can fit the entire world in my hands." It was then you gently cupped his face and gazed into his eyes lovingly. "See?"
Yoshikage gave a small chuckle and held onto your soft hands, soaking up the attention your hands gave him
It wasn't until you tried to move your hands, Yoshikage gripped onto them. Not too harsh, but just enough to keep them there
"No no, keep them there. Let's just stay like this."
~ Yukako Yamagishi ~
You both are a pda couple, typically the cheesy romantic lines and gestures came from Yukako though
But pulling stuff like this wasn't uncommon and you usually said things like that when she gets upset by something
She could be fuming and all you have to do is not even say anything, just gently hold her like you're in a romantic novel and she's already better
"Awe sweetheart, you're my entire world too! I love you so much!"
Neat. Now you're the one being doted on and being squeezed by your surprisingly strong girlfriend
If anyone laughed at or looked at your failed attempt at being the romantic one in the relationship weirdly, she will threaten them and force them to encourage you to do more like that for her :)
~ Toshikazu Hazamada ~
Shh lowkey based off of a headcanon that Hazamada does enjoy drawing a lot and one of his inspirations was Rohan (before Rohan's episode tho)
You were at Hazamada's house, hanging out in his room while he sits at his desk drawing something in his sketchbook
While he was busy, you were giving some affection to his stand, using Surface as a temporary cuddle buddy and using it to give it's user some attention while he's stressing over each hand he draws
Don't get me wrong, you love Toshikazu, but it was getting annoying how often he seemed to neglect giving you proper attention and leaving his stand to do the work for him
"Hey Kazu, look I can hold the world in my hands!" You held the wooden stand close to you and giving it a lil cheek kiss, knowing it was a pet peeve of his when you give too much of your time to his stand rather than himself
Hazamada really went 👁️👄👁️ when the dummy even made a laughing motion at him "B-but why not me!? Am I not your world!?"
"Huh? Oh yea, don't worry honey. I still love you, but right now Surface gets the special boyfriend privileges since it pays attention to me."

(Written for Adrien August... I'm not sorry)
Bad Luck: Frozer
Summary: Adrien struggles to move on from his first crush so he confides in one of his friends. Or is she more than a friend?
-------------------------------
Chat Noir smiled sadly down at the red rose in his hands. Passion, romance, true love, he recalled in his head.
"Chat?"
Hiding the rose behind his back as he turned around, Chat Noir grinned at the question in Ladybug's eyes. "I have to say that rescuing civilians without a supervillain around is a nice change of pace. Don't you think, My Lady?"
"Not every day you see a hang glider delivery service," she agreed, smiling at the nickname.
Chest suddenly constricting Chat Noir's smile became a touch strained. "Love to stay and chat but this cat's gotta run!" Taking out his baton he extended it, launching himself away.
"Oh! See you la... ter..." Ladybug called to his retreating form.
---------------
Landing in the empty locker room Adrien detransformed in a flash of green light. Plagg stretching as he came out of the ring.
Eyeing Adrien's downcast features, Plagg pried at his holder. "It's not like you to leave Ladybug so abruptly."
"Yeah..." Adrien absently offered a wedge of Camembert to his floating friend who promptly swallowed it whole. "Guess I just need some time to myself."
"So she turned you down. There's plenty of other kinds of cheese!"
Despite himself Adrien smiled. "You need better metaphors."
Plagg shrugged. "You could always take it literally. You can never have enough cheese!"
Adrien rolled his eyes as he changed into his fencing gear. Plagg wasn't as articulate as he thought but... he wasn't wrong...
These thoughts swirled in Adrien's head as he joined Kagami at practice.
A mistake he paid for when Kagami knocked him off his feet. Standing, Adrien parried as Kagami lunged. She always gave her all in beating her opponent. Scoring a point he smiled and they retook their positions.
But his heart still wasn't into the sparing session and her next lunge drove him off balance. Her foil poking into his chest.
"Predictable," Kagami chastised.
Eyes narrowing, Adrien's more competitive nature surged forward at her words. Heart beating faster, grip tightening on his foil and-
It was gone as soon as it came.
Leaving Adrien vulnerable to Kagami's strike...
---------------
Adrien stared pensively at his fencing helmet. He knew Ladybug didn't like him the same way he liked her. That wasn't anything new. So why was he-
"What's wrong, Adrien? Usually I like beating you but it's no fun when you make it this easy." Kagami stood in front of him with an unreadable expression.
Adrien gave her a bittersweet smile. "You ever feel like you're stuck, Kagami? Like, no matter how much you try to move forward, nothing will ever, ever change?"
Kagami blinked in surprise as Adrien opened up to her. This wasn't what she was expecting... Sitting next to him Kagami took a moment to collect her thoughts. "Adrien. The biggest mistake a fencer can make isn't choosing the wrong technique. It's choosing the wrong target."
Oh. She liked metaphors too. Well, with his luck to was bound to-
Her hand gently cupped his cheek and turned his head to face her. "So, switch targets."
...Oh. A rose tint colored Adrien's cheeks. Kagami was always beautiful but for some reason... it was especially true just then.
Smiling in encouragement Kagami grabbed her things and walked out of the locker room. Leaving Adrien to his thoughts.
He stared after her for a moment... Launching to his feet Adrien raced after her in a moment of sheer panic and recklessness.
"Kagami!" Adrien practically shouted.
Not having gone far Kagami turned around, puzzled.
Taking a deep breath, heart pounding against his ribs, Adrien let out the thought that propelled him to his feet. "Would you like to go out some time!?"
Kagami's eyes went wide. "Out? As in a date?"
The color on Adrien's cheeks bloomed into scarlet. Suddenly even more self-conscious he rubbed the back of his neck- "Um," -and nodded. His mouth refusing to form words.
Half turning, Kagami gave him a small smile. "I'd like that."
Adrien felt his lips pull into a grin. Heart somersaulting in his chest for some reason.
---------------
"What should I do, Plagg?" Adrien bemoaned. Head thunking onto his computer desk. "I've never been on a date before!"
"Wasn't this your idea?" Plagg flipped through his favorite cheese magazine. He swore this romance nonsense was the silliest invention humans had ever come up with. "If you ask me it's about time you expanded your palate."
"You're no help," Adrien grumbled. Lifting his head up Adrien swiveled around to look at Plagg. "What if I asked Father or Nathalie for advice?"
"Sure." Plagg stretched lazily. "If ya want them to know about you and sword girl."
Sighing, Adrien discounted that idea. "Oh! We can ask the Gorilla!"
"I don't know," Plagg mused, "doesn't seem like a good idea."
"You just don't like it 'cause he found your Camembert stash that time," Adrien teased, poking Plagg lightly.
"It was perfectly edible! How could he!?"
Chuckling at his antics, Adrien thought about who he could go to for advice...
---------------
Adrien tried not to hurry ahead of Kagami into the ice rink proper. The chill making his arm hairs stand on end. His breath sharp in his throat. Heart beating with a mix of excitement and nervousness. Asking Marinette had been a great idea!
He turned back to see Alya and Nino slowly catch up. If only she could have made it. But that essay on periwinkle migration sounded important to her... Oh, Chloe's dad was here.
As they put on their skates Adrien glanced at Kagami out of the corner of his eye. Scooting closer to Nino he whispered: "Thanks for coming last minute, Nino."
"Hey, no problem dude! Anything for my bro." Nino's grin was a tad forced and his eyes drifted to something behind Adrien before snapping back.
"I don't know what to do with Kagami."Adrien admitted, leaning in. "Should I... offer to hold her hand?"
"Yes!" Nino snapped his fingers and held up finger guns at Adrien. His eyes flickered away again. "I mean, no! I mean- Why don't you take it slow?"
Adrien turned around to see what Nino was looking at but it was just Alya smiling politely, hands behind her back. Probably waiting patiently for him to finish with her boyfriend.
Straightening, Adrien smiled at her. "Thanks for coming, Alya."
"No big deal! Just a double date, right!" Alya smiled wide in an attempt to draw attention away from her accidental inflection.
"...Right." Adrien politely declined to comment on it.
"Anyway!" Alya grabbed Nino's hand and dragged him off. "We'll let you two get to it!"
Adrien turned back to Kagami, who was tying her skates. Hesitantly, he made his way over and stood beside her.
"Don't be scared," Kagami promised conspiratorially as she looked up, "I won't tell anyone."
"About what?" Adrien asked slowly.
"That you don't know how to tie your laces," she teased, kneeling down to do just that. Once done Kagami smiled at him, grabbed his hand and led him onto the ice.
---------------
"I can't believe you agreed to this!" Alya stage whispered. Arm locked tightly around Nino's elbow as they skated on the opposite side of the rink.
"Aw, c'mon Als. Y'know I couldn't leave my bro hanging like that!" Nino widened his eyes and tried to sparkle them like Adrien had. "He gave me the look. How could I say no to that?"
"I know..." Alya sighed. The crease between her eyes softening from accusation to guilt. "I just..." Adrien and Kagami caught her eye as they skated hand in hand. "Feel like I'm betraying my girl just by being here."
Nino patted her hand and gave her a soft smile. "I'm sure the dudette will understand." His gaze drifted towards Adrien and Kagami. "Besides... I don't think she'd want to see this."
"Hey, young man! Have you ever thought about signing up for ice skating lessons!?"
--------------
Kagami turned her head as Alya and Nino skated past them on their lap. "Did you invite them because you were scared of being alone with me?"
"Of course not!" Adrien lied, waving his hand to ward off her words. "It's just... that I asked Nino to help... me."
Her brow creased. "Help you with what?"
"Uh, to perfect my figure skating skills!" Adrien decided.
"But you don't need him for that." Suddenly, Kagami let go of his hand and launched into a short routine of spins and twirls.
Adrien blinked at her presentation before an appreciative smile graced his lips. Kagami has so many talents, Adrien thought as she talked with that man who had been discussing something with Mayor Bourgeois.
Seamlessly, Kagami interlaced their fingers as she took his hand again and pulled him forward with her momentum. Glancing at his smile through the corner of her eye.
"Adrien Agreste, I can see it now!" The skating instructor (that's what he was) was suddenly beside Adrien. "Grace and style model! And professional ice skating champion! If you take lessons with me I'll have you shining like the candles on a birthday cake!"
Skating? Adrien had never thought about it before. "Uh, may-beeee!"
Kagami switched their positions so she was closest to the instructor. "He already does fencing with me," she informed him. And sped up with Adrien in tow.
Adrien stared at the back of Kagami's head. She was very assertive in her desires, bold even. Kagami knew what she wanted and wasn't afraid to go for it. He admired that about her, was drawn to it. Kagami would meet any challenge without backing down.
Just like Ladybug.
His fingers slipped from Kagami's grasp as he slowed to a stop. Staring at the floor as his cheeks burned not with embarrassment but shame.
"Adrien? What is it?" Kagami asked as she circled back.
Adrien smiled. "Nothing. I just have to use the restroom real quick." Turning, he let his smile fall as he left the rink.
Plagg poked his head out of his pocket once they were alone. "What's gotten into you, kid?"
Adrien stared at him. "I don't know."
Worry started to prick at Plagg's fur. "Adrien-"
"I don't know what I want, Plagg!" His heart hammered against his chest, pulse rising to his throat. "Kagami knows. Ladybug knows. Chat Noir thought he knew but... but I don't." Adrien wrapped his arms around himself, making himself smaller.
"... Listen, you're young right? Even by human standards? Like a freshly made wheel of Camembert."
Adrien frowned, turning away. "Plagg-"
"Hear me out!" Plagg zipped closer to Adrien's face, keeping in his line of sight. "But freshly made Camembert is terrible! It's got no flavor! No delicious scent! You need to let it age to bring out all the good stuff."
Adrien glanced at Plagg. Seeing his tail twitching in concern even if he wouldn't voice it. Strangely, Adrien understood what he was trying to say.
"All cheeses age differently. There's nothing wrong with taking your time." Plagg finished, not quite satisfied with how it came out.
Adrien smiled at him, reaching out to pet his head. "Thanks, Plagg."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah." Plagg let himself be petted. Not because he enjoyed it, of course. It just happened to make Adrien feel better.
Suddenly, ice started crawling up the walls. Magic coming from the ice rink. "Oh, no. Guess we have to go save the day," Plagg said, very disappointedly, yes.
Adrien grinned as he brought out the transformation cheese. "Uh-huh."
---------------
Chat Noir's good humor lasted until he spotted Ladybug on a rooftop. Oh. He didn't... want to see her right now. Reluctantly, he landed beside her. Doing his best to keep the conflicting emotions wrestling in his chest off his face.
"Chat Noir! We need to set up a trap for whoever turned the city into a giant ice rink." Ladybug anchored her yo-yo onto a nearby building, ready to take off.
Say something. Say something! "My feline instincts prefer to track and observe before I attack." Ha! Nailed it! Chat Noir scooted closer to the roof's edge as he scanned the frozen city.
Ladybug gave him a puzzled look. "What? Since when?"
Chat Noir pouted. "Rude."
Shaking her head as she fought back a fond smile Ladybug inched towards him. "We have to work together on this."
His hand rubbed the back of his neck, catching her eye. "I don't know. We don't have to do everything together. If we split up we'll have a better chance of finding him." Chat Noir jumped. "Race you!"
"Chat Noir, be careful!" Ladybug called out as he sped away. "... Okay, so he's acting weird. Not the first time he's acted weird. It'll be fine!" She cast her yo-yo and swung off. I hope.
---------------
Being by himself helped Adrien order his thoughts. His feelings were all over the place so he focused on doing what he told Ladybug he was gonna do. It was child's play to follow the only imperfection on otherwise smooth ice. Leading him to the Eiffel Tower where the akuma victim was hiding.
Okay. Now I just need to-
Frozer launched himself at Ladybug!
Acting quickly Chat Noir tackled Ladybug out of the way. Grabbing her hand and leading her onto the frozen Seine. Skating away at top speed to put some distance between them and Frozer.
"Thanks, kitty!" Ladybug smiled.
And Adrien smiled back. Confusing questions forgotten for the moment. Then Frozer launched shards of ice; Chat Noir letting go of Ladybug's hand so they could dodge it. Only then realizing that he'd been holding it at all.
"He's too fast!"
She was right. Frozer easily kept pace with them. Leaping into the air to launch more ice shards. Rounding a bend in the river they were out of sight for a second. Taking advantage of it to hide.
"I'm positive the akuma's in his skates," Ladybug stated once Frozer passed them.
"My Cataclysm could destroy them but he'd have to be up in the air... You were right My Lady. We're going to have to set a trap."
"You were right, too. We observed and now we know enough."
Chat Noir smiled. "Seems we're just missing a little push of luck to get the edge on him."
Ladybug nodded. "Lucky Charm!"
---------------
Adrien raced back to the ice rink. In the end the plan had been pretty straightforward. Ladybug baited Frozer into following her while Chat Noir laid in wait.
Business as usual. Except...
'Are you sure you're okay? You've been off since yesterday.'
'...I'm just figuring some things out. Might take me a while but that's okay... Thanks for worrying about me.'
Being around Ladybug didn't make him feel quite so sad anymore. Chat Noir meant it when he said her friendship was important to him, after all. And... Adrien was happy. That he could be normal around her.
He spotted Alya and Nino discussing something, waving at them as he looked for... There. Kagami was returning her skates. Adrien walked up to her, fidgeting with his ring. "Uh, hey, Kagami. Sorry I ran off like that."
"It is fine. We were interrupted anyway."
Adrien couldn't tell how she meant that but he took a deep breath and forged ahead. "So, I know I'm the one who asked you out and all. But..."
Kagami frowned. "Are you saying you do not wish to date me?"
"No!" Adrien waved both hands emphatically in the negative. "No, no, no! I just... wanted to say that I think we should take it slow."
She raised an eyebrow. "We go any slower and our pace will be glacial."
Adrien was 90 percent sure that was a joke... 80 percent. "W-well if you think it's too much of a challenge..."
Kagami's eyes widened at Adrien's audacity. She poked him in the chest. "Don't flatter yourself, Agreste."
Without thinking, Adrien grabbed her hand and kissed the back of her palm. Kagami's answering blush nowhere near as radiant as Adrien's. Why did I do that!? Who froze for a moment before turning around. "W-wouldn't dream of it... Ryuko."
"Ryuko?" Kagami raised a brow at the nickname.
Adrien's hand went back to rubbing his neck. "I can call you something else if you don't like it."
"No," Kagami decided, a small smile on her lips as she passed Adrien on her way to the exit. "Ryuko will do just fine."
"... So, that's a yes?" Adrien sprinted to catch up.
"Mm, perhaps if you define what you think 'taking it slow' is."
Adrien leapt in front of her and held out his hand. "Let us drive you home?"
Kagami blinked at the offered hand. Slowly reaching out for it. His palm was warm in hers. "Going slow is not too bad. I suppose," she relented.
Adrien beamed. "Oh! Just one last thing!"
--------------
Kagami entered the Agreste car as Adrien held the door open, sliding in behind her. "You're still doing what other people want."
"No, I just want him to be happy," Adrien countered. Giving the skating instructor free advertising didn't cost him anything. "Besides, how're we supposed to come back if it's a Chloe catered gym?"
"Back?" That sounded promising.
Adrien rubbed the back of his neck and couldn't quite look at her but he smiled. "Since our first date was cut short I was hoping we could try again."
Kagami gazed at Adrien as he fidgeted. "Just the two of us?"
"Y-yup!" Adrien's face burned.
"Good. You're crush on Nino was distracting."
"Wh-what!?" Adrien spluttered.
"... You're crush on Nino? I thought everyone knew. Personally, I prefer Alya but-"
"I don't- That is- I..." Adrien's shoulders slumped. "His eyes are so beautiful, it's like he stares into your soul."
Kagami's hands hovered awkwardly. "I am sorry. I thought you knew."
Adrien buried his face in his hands to muffle his yelling. "I thought I only had the one thing! This is... I don't even know how many things this is!"
Reaching for his hand again, Kagami squeezed it reassuringly. Back straightening as his grip turned out stronger than she expected.
He peeked at her through the splayed fingers covering his red face. Breath speeding up. "I... I don't..."
"You don't have to say anything. I know it is not easy to come to terms with."
Nodding gratefully, Adrien slowly took his hand away from his face. Taking deep breaths.
Kagami relaxed as Adrien did the same. This wasn't what she was expecting. But that wasn't necessarily a bad thing. Turns out, Kagami had been aiming at the wrong target too.
Adrien's grip eased as he looked up at Kagami. That was... certainly a lot. But Kagami hadn't turned away from him. Only a handful of people had ever seen him so vulnerable. And two of them preferred to pretend otherwise. But Kagami didn't pretend. And Adrien admired her for it. He smiled, wobbly and honest.
"Thanks... Ryuko."
------------------------------
In case it's unclear the two people Adrien's talking about are Gabriel and Nathalie.
*Rewatches Frozer (again) for this fic* ... If my friend fell and they said they didn't feel well I'd check up on them too. IDK why the the fandom- I mean, Plagg, is so hung up on that part.
I have taken liberties with the production of Camembert for this fic. Please, forgive my transgressions cheese enthusiasts.

🌕🌖🌗🌘🌑🌒🌓🌔🌕
We were laughing about what the topic of our conversation was. About how we ended up in here instead of attending 7th period. We were seating down at the sand while the sunsets. He we’re holding my hand while telling sweet things to me. Then he stops and stares at my eyes.
 "Hello? Earth to Y/N? Are you having a stroke or something?" Hitoka said while waving her hand in front of my face.
 I pushed her hand away from my face. "Yeah I'm fine." I said with a bit of annoyance in my tone.
 "You were daydreaming weren't you?" She said while getting something from her bag.
 "I was at the middle of daydreaming but you suddenly interrupted my moment." I rolled my eyes at her. "Why did you interrupted my daydreaming huh?" I accused her like she just committed a crime.
 "Well while you were at the middle of your daydreaming half of our classmates is already eating their lunch." She pointed out. Now holding her wallet in her left hand.
 "Oh" I replied. I also reach for my wallet in my bag. "The teacher didn't give any homework right? She just said that there's going to be a new lesson tomorrow." I asked her just to be sure. I wasn't entirely zoning out of course. I care about my grades. That's the only thing I can try my best about something. Knowing I don't have talents, gifts or passion. I really admire people with talents and passions they do their best about something they truly want.
 "Let's go" We started walking out of our classroom and straight to the cafeteria. I just ordered a sandwich since I have a water bottle in my bag and I don't really like drinking soda and coffee. Yeah I guess I'm weird. I was looking for Hitoka and I can't see her anywhere. I waited for 5 more minutes for her but I still can’t see where she's at. So I went back to our classroom.
 "Where were you?" I asked after seeing her sitting at her desk already eating her lunch. I sat down at my desk which is beside hers.
 "Have you thought of a club to join yet?" She asked me before biting down at her sandwich. I removed the plastic that is covering my sandwich while I think about her question.
 "A club? No I haven't what about you?" I actually have two in mind but I'm not that good in neither one. It was either the Arts Club or Dance Club. I love designing especially painting and I also love to dance but again I'm not great at neither of them. I wasn't great at sports either but I do love playing badminton and volleyball. If you were to compare me to players, dancers or painters I'm nothing.
 "I wasn't really thinking of one yet until this beautiful and sexy girl came up to me asking if I want to be the manager of a volleyball team. I think she's a 3rd year." She explained. So that was why I couldn't find her anywhere earlier. A 3rd year were asking if she wants to be a manager of a volleyball club.
 "Woah a beautiful girl I want to be friends with her. Wait, manager of a volleyball team? What do they do? I didn't know volleyball teams have managers." I replied after I swallowed my sandwich.
 "Yeah neither did I." She said before taking a sip from her soda drink.
 "Are you thinking of trying it out?" I asked her. She could join the Arts Club too since she's great at drawings and digital arts.
 "I don't know since it's a boys’ volleyball team." She said.
 "Boys’ volleyball team? You're going to be a manager of a boys’ volleyball team?" I asked totally surprise that it was a boys’ volleyball team.
 "Yeah" She mumbled.
 "I'm not against it or anything I mean, that's your life you can do whatever you want with it but If you decided to accept being a manager of a boys’ volleyball club and they turned out to be jerks. I'm telling your mom and pulling you out of that club, I swear." I proclaimed, dead serious.
 "Woah chill." She laughed awkwardly. "I'm still thinking about it. Of course before I agree I'll check out the people in that club first." She added.
 "Okay good." I replied. After that the teacher entered the classroom and started discussing the lesson.

We're walking home from school when my phone buzzed.
Tumblr media
"Is that the guy you met on a discord server?" Hitoka asked trying to look at my phone.
 "Yeah, why?" I answered. Putting my phone back in my pockets. I just suddenly got invited into a server and I accepted it, it’s not like I have something better to do. We played together for hours he was really fun to play with though he's a little quiet but when the game starts that’s when he starts shouting nonsense.
 After a couple of weeks playing with him. He asked if I have a twitter account. I gave it to him but of course it’s not my main. I think the account he gave me is also not his main maybe a dump account or something because I don't see any photos of him posted in that account. We’re both playing it safe.
 "Nothing. You don't really feel comfortable with having online friends." She replied. Eyes looking straight ahead.
 "Yeah that’s why I gave him my dump account. We both don't know the appearance of each other." She's right I don't like making friends online. I don't like the idea of being friends with someone I don't know. That someone might be a 40 years old dude trying to sell my organs at the black market we may never know.
 "That's good but you know each other's voices right?" She questioned, looking at me waiting for my response.
 "Of course, how else would we communicate while playing a game." I said avoiding her gaze. I can see from my peripheral vision that she's looking at me while raising her eyebrows. "I may or may not know that were both living in Japan."
 "Y/N!" She yelled while looking at me with disbelief. She now stopped walking and is waiting for my explanation.
 "What? He told me that he's living in Tokyo that was it!" I explained defending myself. I also stopped walking and looked at her.
 "You didn't tell him that you live in Miyagi?" She said interrogating me.
 "Duh, of course not! I changed the topic after that." I answered. "I'm not that dumb." I rolled my eyes and started walking again.
 "Good to know." Hitoka said in relief and catch up to my pace.

Jim’s Best Friend
Part Five - Halloween Deceit
Tumblr media
Word Count: 1458
Author’s Note: Well, the last chapter was rough. Going to post this and chapter six tonight, since they are both a little short. Enjoy!
WARNING: continued discussion of assault and domestic abuse.
Halloween, 2005.
"Downsizing?" Michael looked into the camera, pulling a face. "Yah, Jan called this morning... She's expecting a name. I have to let someone go today."
-
Halloween is always fun at Dunder Mifflin. The whole office dressed up, there's always a party hosted by Angela and a few of the girls, and even though the cobweb decorations had disappeared mysteriously overnight, the ambience of Halloween still remained.
Halloween fell on a Monday, so the usual boring start to the week was a lot more fun. Pam had stocked up her desk with candy, and had dressed in all black with cat ears and painted on whiskers. Everyone in the office had dressed up, from Michael with his second head, to Devon as a hobo, and Kevin as a superhero.
But 9 am rolled around, and Jim, dressed up as '3 hole punch Jim', couldn't help but notice that Y/N, who had never been late, wasn't at her desk. He and Pam shared a look, and she pulled out her mobile, calling Y/N's number.
Straight to voicemail.
"Maybe she's getting Halloween supplies?" Pam suggested, and Jim shrugged, glancing at Dwight in his Sith Lord costume, looking like a shrivelled prune with the makeup he had decided on.
9.15, and still no Y/N. Pam tried her phone again, and was once again met with a cheery answering machine message.
9.48. Nothing. Pam suggested they take their minds of it by pulling a major prank on Dwight, applying to jobs on his behalf.
10.34. More nothing. Pam received a call though, asking for a recommendation for Dwight Schrute, and Jim pretended to be Michael.
Jim and Pam were starting to get seriously worried when the front office door opened at 10.58, and Y/N walked through the door, in a light blue turtleneck and jeans, and with her face beaten up.
"Oh my God, Y/N." Jim ended his call and ran over quickly.
"Relax dude, it's special fx makeup." You reassured him, trying your best to believe the lie. "I thought I'd go all out this year... But then I couldn't find my Halloween costume, so I now look like... I dunno, mugged individual?" You joked, walking over to your desk, using all the energy you had not to wince as you sat down.
"That doesn't explain why you were late." Pam said from behind reception, and you held up a slip of paper.
"Doctor's appointment. I thought I had emailed you last week?" You asked, and she shook her head. But with both your friends believing the cover story, you set about work for the day, trying your best to avoid the pain in your side or the pounding in your head.
Come 2 pm, Jim counted that you had taken four extra strength Tylenol, and drank three full bottles of water. No coffee like usual, no unnecessary trips to talk to Pam or him, no come backs for Dwight's monologue about Star Wars.
He wasn't sure if you were just suffering from a major hangover, or if it was womanly problems or something else, but he didn't like seeing you out of it.
He was going to say something, but instead headed over to chat with Pam, the pair watching Dwight pick up the phone. The amusement was satisfying, even if temporary, listening to Dwight fight about his martial arts credits with some recruiter for Cumberland Mills.
"You know, you should be applying for that job." Pam said softly, and Jim pulled a face.
"But it's in Maryland..."
"I know, but you are so much more qualified than Dwight, plus it's double what you get paid here I mean..." Pam shrugged, smiling a little. If anyone should be getting a pay rise in the office, it was Jim. She knew it. He had more talent than half the office combined, including Michael and Dwight.
"Right." Jim said quickly, walking away from her desk and stopping only when he was called into Michael's office.
Once Jim was in the office, Pam decided to take her coffee break, and fetched a cup for Y/N too. She walked over, placing the cup beside you, noticing you filling out some paperwork with no real motivation.
"I swear, I keep looking at you and thinking the makeup is real. Wow!" Pam complimented as she sat on your desk, sipping her coffee. You smiled, taking the mug and sipping it lightly, trying your best not to disturb your busted lip. "Dinner was great fun on Friday, right?" Pam continued chatting, and you nodded weakly.
"I'm sorry Pam, I'm just not feeling great today. Is there any chance we could talk tomorrow? I've got this killer headache." You confessed, and Pam frowned a little but nodded, heading back over to her desk.
The rest of the day passed in a blur. Supposedly Jim almost got fired, as did a number of others, and by the time the work day was over, Devon had been let go. The rest of the office, besides Creed and Michael, were invited for drinks with him, and all agreed, packing up and abandoning the office party Angela had planned out for them.
"You coming Y/N?" Jim asked, and you nodded slowly, gathering your things and following the crowd out but with the elevator full, you and Jim headed down the stairs. You both stayed quiet for a few moments, and you chewed on your lip out of habit.
"Can't believe Michael tried to fire Creed and gave up." You spoke up, and Jim nodded.
"It's crazy... He's lost it a little that past few months." Jim agreed, glancing over at you and promptly stopping. You stopped too, about two steps down, and looked up.
"Jim, everything ok?" You asked, and he walked closer, running his thumb across your chin and moving it back to show blood.
"Didn't know fx makeup could bleed, did you?" He asked, and your hand shot up to cover your mouth. "Jesus Christ, Y/N! Why did you even come in today?! You should be in a hospital." Jim said, clearly mad, and you took a few steps away from him. He noticed and looked into your eyes, like he was trying to find your soul.
"What happened?" He asked quietly, and you couldn't stop your lip from trembling.
"Brian..." It was the only word you could get out before you broke down in tears, falling to the stairs and sobbing uncontrollably. The entire weekend you had lay on your apartment floor, only moving to use the bathroom and grab a fresh six can pack from the fridge. You had only showered that morning because of work, your doctor's appointment. You received the good news that, while the damage was going to lead to a lot of bruising, no internal bleeding was found, no problems with organs or anything.
Jim rushed to your side, lifting you into his arms and holding you close, letting you cry it out before he even tried to move you. He picked you up bridal style, carrying you to the front door, when you insisted her out you down so as to not draw attention. Poor Richards was only a walk away, and at least a few people would have waited for the pair to join.
It turned out to be Pam and Oscar, who stood chatting by the front door.
"Hey Jim, Y/N." Oscar called, frowning as you walked towards Jim's car. Pam excused herself does a second, running over and catching up with the pair of you.
"Jim, what's up with Y/N?" Pam asked, hands in her jacket pockets to retain warmth. Jim looked over, and called back to Oscar.
"Head on without us, we've got something to do first." Jim said with a fake smile, and Oscar shrugged, walking along to Poor Richards.
"Why did you-" Pam asked, but Jim cut her off.
"It wasn't makeup Pam... Brian did that to her..." Jim said quietly, Pam's hands flying up to cover her mouth.
"Oh God..."
"I'm taking her to my place, then the police station." Jim decided, and Pam shook her head.
"Roy and I will take care of her. Drop us off at our place and you head over." She insisted, jumping in the back seat with you. "Hey sweetie, ready for a quiet Halloween night in?" Pam asked softly, and you just rested your head on her shoulder, which soon became damp with tears.
"Thank you guys." You said softly as Jim got in the car, starting the engine and heading towards Pam's place.
"What are friends for, Y/N?" He replied, and the last thing you remember was falling asleep cuddled up against Pam, the midnight blue sky twinkling with stars above through Jim's car skylight.

OHSHC Rewrite: Episode 2
The Job of a High School Host!
Host Club x reader
Summary: Y/n learns the duties of a host.
Word Count: 4.9k
Episode Masterlist
Tumblr media
You've been a host for almost two weeks now. It's been interesting, to say the least. Tamaki and the twins have been trying to get you into a dress since you put on the school uniform, but you cleaned the male uniform and refused all their demands.
Maria got letters from your friends back in y/c, to which she wanted to surprise you by putting them in your bag. You didn't notice them at school, and you didn't notice them when they were sticking out during homeroom.
But Hikaru and Kaoru did. Once the class was over, the three envelopes fell out of your backpack, though you kept walking. They looked at each other and nodded. Hikaru them and went on and they both went on with their day.
After doing your homework you rushed into the club room, only to see very real tropical decorations everywhere. The hosts had luau outfits on as well. "Welcome."
"This is different." You stated as you stepped in, looking around.
"Of course!" Tamaki posed as he talked. "It might be early fall but here at the Host Club we'd like our guests to feel as if they're in a tropical paradise. And plus, our heating system is... perfect!"
You gave him a slight look at his bragging, to which Kyoya smiled a bit. "Do you have a problem with the way we run our club y/n? Remember, you still owe us 8 million yen."
You set your bag down on your spot. "Charming." You said sarcastically, passing by him and giving him a sly smile. "I feel very free to speak my mind, really. So was this tropical island thing your idea?"
"All ideas dealing with the host club events come directly from the king. Although I will admit to casually slipping a Bali pamphlet onto his desk." He kept his smile as he continued writing in his book.
"Of course. Well someone should tell the king that he's really clever." You patted his arm before going and sitting down with your clients. "Good afternoon ladies—"
The twins each blew a whistle and marched over to you. "Hold it right there!" They said in unison. "Who's Julian?!"
You turned over to them, a bit surprised at the mentioning of that name. "What do you mean?"
"Three envelopes fell out of your bag, and one was from a boy named Julian." Kaoru said.
They then got very close to you, asking, "So who's Julian?!"
"An old friend." You shrugged, putting out your hand for the letters. They gave them back to you, but also gained the attention of Tamaki.
"How good of a friend is he?" He zoomed right behind your couch.
You didn't know why Tamaki was so territorial of his friends, but you knew there must be a reason. That didn't mean you couldn't still have fun with him. You fake sighed lovingly. "He's the best."
"Is he... handsome?"
"He has an adorable face. I love it so much!"
"You love it?" You gave you his puppy dog eyes.
"Yup."
"Do you have... feelings... for him?"
"Oh, I'm only totally in love with him."
"WHA~T?!" He then wrapped you in a hug. "But you're my little girl~"
You sighed again. "Yeah. It's too bad you're more his type."
"Huh?"
He blankly stared at you, and you bursted into a fit of giggles. "He's gay, so calm down."
"Oh." He then stood up and cleared his throat. "Well then, that's one less man to worry about. You don't know how many evil boys there are in the world, so you have to be careful."
"Yeah, I should also be careful of weird people who call themselves 'daddy'." An arrow struck through Tamaki as you walked over to the twins. "Thanks for holding onto these for me." Your smile made them blush. "And thank you for not opening them, since you guys are pretty nosey."
"We don't know what you're talking about." They both said as they shrugged.
"But y/n," Kaoru started saying.
"Why don't you open them for us?" Hikaru finished.
You scoffed. "Please guys, I'm working." You then turned to your clients as they sighed, smiling. "I'm sorry girls. What did you want to talk about?"
"Well, we were wondering if you were going to dress up in something tropical."
"Do you all want me to?" You asked, unsure if you wanted to go through with that.
"Yes!" They said happily.
Tamaki then appeared with a smile. "I already made you an outfit y/n. And look, we're a pair! Isn't it cute?"
You frowned. "You know I don't really like skirts."
He then showed you his big watery eyes. "But Kyoya gave you a dress and you accepted it no problem."
"He was doing it to be nice. You're doing this because you want to see me in a dress. That's weird."
He looked like he was going to burst from anger. He then pushed the outfit into your hands. "Just go change!"
You then changed into the shoulderless top with the long skirt, which also accompanied a lot of jewelry. You then went out and tried to discreetly go back to your clients. "Oh my goodness y/n, you're so cute!" One exclaimed.
"Y/N~" Tamaki jumped over to you and crushed you into a hug. "Everybody, look!"
"Let's not please." You whispered. Your face went red as you frustratedly looked to the ground.
"Wow." The twins said, grabbing your arms.
"Who knew y/n," Kaoru said.
"Could be such a girl." Hikaru finished.
"Looks cute." They said, giving you a thumbs up.
"Please stop drawing in more attention." You said quietly.
"Takashi~ look!" Honey dragged you over to them. "Doesn't she look adorable?"
"Yeah."
Tamaki and the twins had evil stars in their eyes as they inched closer to you. You didn't notice the blush on Mori's face when you went to go hide behind him. The three then shouted, "Give her to us!"
Mori shook his head and took your shoulders, guiding you to your couch.
"Thank you senpai." You said quietly. You then put your hands over your face. You peaked at your smiling clients. "Okay, I did this for you guys."
"How do you feel in cosplay?"
"Exhausted!" You put your hands to your side quickly only to begin shaking your arms, hearing the jewelry jingle as you moved. They began to giggle at your innocent and child-like movements. "Jeez, what's with this?"
"Y/n, you forgot your crown!" Tamaki stuck it out towards you as an offering.
You took a deep breath and drank some tea, not looking at him. "If it's worth more than me I'm not wearing it."
He gave you an angrily confused look. "What's that supposed to mean?"
"I'm not putting something ridiculous and way too expensive on my head. I don't even feel comfortable in this. It feels like I'm lowering the value of it by just wearing it." Your tone was a sarcastic one, which caused smiles from around your area. Though it was a joke, you were only half-kidding.
"Excuse me." A girl came up to you and said. "I believe we're supposed to be switching hosts now."
"Oh, you must be my next appointment." You grinned, waving to her childishly even though she was right in front of you. "It's nice to meet you."
She then grabbed your chin and brought your face closer to hers. "I've just decided. You're going to be my new favorite host." This seemed to effect Tamaki.
Once the club finished everything, you walked over to go change until Kyoya stopped you. "Your words with Tamaki seemed to amuse some of the guests, and many of those guests have requested you."
"Cool. I guess my clownery is likable." You chuckled and nodded.
Clownery. What an odd made up word. He thought about what his clients told them about you. You spoke with slang, though it almost as if you didn't realize it. They said that they found it adorable. Your speech being adorable. It was an interesting thought, in its own way.
Once you put back on your uniform, Kyoya instructed you to make Tamaki some instant ramen. You did so and finished cleaning. Once you finished that you sat down and noticed that Tamaki was irritated.
"C'mon boss, quit eating that commoner's ramen and help plan the party." Kaoru said.
"What's up with him?" You asked.
"He's just upset with Lady Kanako choosing you." Kyoya said as he typed away on his laptop. "She's had the illness for a while now though, so I don't know why he's too surprised."
"What disease?"
"The host hopping disease." The twins said.
You giggled, grinning. "So he's jealous that I stole her from him."
"Shut up! I couldn't care less!" Tamaki yelled. "That's it, my patience has run out. It's time you started dressing like a girl!"
"That's really what's bothering you?"
"I just don't get it. How can you be so popular with the ladies when you yourself are a lady?!" He then went into his private chest, digging though it. "Now you listen to daddy. DADDY WANTS YOU TO GO BACK TO THE WAY YOU WERE AND KEEP WEARING SKIRTS!!"
He brought out a huge framed photo of you in a high and tight half pony tail, which contrasted your usually messy pony tail. You were wearing a cropped long sleeved dark gray shirt, with a black skirt and dark panty hose under.
"DON'T GO BLOWING UP MY PHOTOS WITHOUT ASKING ME FIRST!!"
He hung it up on the wall and began crying. Everybody crowded around it.
"The more I look at this photo the more amazed I am." Kaoru said. "How did you go from that to wearing suits?"
Everyone turned to look at you. "I used to have a neighbor who owned a Burlesque lounge. Sometimes she needed someone to cover a waitress shift, and I would do it. This was the most covered up she would allow me to be though."
"I see." Kyoya said. "Those places are known for having women reveal a large amount of skin."
"I wore that stuff cause I had to. I feel more comfortable not showing my legs. I don't care if I dress like a dude sometimes."
"A GIRL SHOULD NEVER ADDRESS HERSELF AS A DUDE!!" Tamaki yelled. "MAMA~!! Y/n's using those dirty boy words again."
"I hate to break up this interesting conversation, but do you have any formal dancing experience?" Hikaru asked.
You turned and smiled nervously. "No, but I don't have to go to parties and stuff, right?"
Tamaki's eyes began to shine. "I absolutely forbid that. You must go to every event hosted by the host club if you want to pay back your debt! If you fail to do so, you'll be demoted back to errand boy" He then got a lot happier. "And that also means you have to wear a dress at the party!"
"No it's cool, I have a formal guy outfit." They all stared at you. "What? I got it when I had to go to a wedding."
"Why won't you wear something like thi~s?" Tamaki said with tears in his eyes.
"Cause it was for a job."
"This is a job!"
"No, this is indentured servitude. There's a difference. Slight, but it's there." You then briefly thought. "Oh, I guess that also means I have to learn the man's part since I'm a host."
Kanako was instructing you what to do, and you were getting the hang of it quickly. "You're quite a fast learner miss y/n."
"And you're quite an exceptional teacher Miss Kanako." Your gaze went to Tamaki, who looked sad. He wanted to teach you, but was too tall to be in the girl role. He glanced over to you, and you smiled and waved. He hesitantly gave you a small smile and waved back. Because of this you weren't paying attention tripped up the both of you. "I'm so sorry Lady Kanako!"
She pulled you closer. "That's quite alright."
"You're very forward." You smiled down at her before rolling to the side and pulling the both of you up. "C'mon, let's get you some tea."
You brought her tea as she happily held onto the cup. "You have a new order for tea sets I see. The handy work looks like it's Genorie."
"You have a keen eye mademoiselle." Kyoya said as he passed by.
"Such a pretty color." She gazed into the tea cup with a smile. "How lovely."
"Woah, you seem to know a lot about tea sets, huh?" You asked. This, unbeknownst to you, gained Tamaki's attention.
"What? Of course not!" She said shakily, blushing. "What ever would give you that idea?!"
Just then someone walked in with a box in hand. "You ordered a new tea set?" He asked Kyoya as he walked over to him.
"Yes we did. Y/n, come over and grab these." Kyoya said.
You nodded and smiled at him as he gave you the box. You opened the lid and looked at the set. "Wow, these are really nice. Are you an expert on things like this?"
Kanako began laughing. "Oh y/n, you're so out of the loop. It can be pardoned though." She turned back with a teasing smile. "After all, he doesn't look like an heir to a first class industry empire."
His facial expression changed as he looked at her. You noticed but decided not to say anything.
"The Susushima family has dealt mainly with table wear." Kyoya explained. "They are, in fact, a first class company."
"I think that's so awesome! You seem to have a lot of passion into what you're going to be doing, which is very admirable." You told him with a small smile.
He turned to you and bashfully smiled. "You think so? I'm honored. Well, see you all next time."
After he left and you walked back to Kanako with the box still in hand. "He's pretty handsome, don't you think?" You asked in your native language.
"Um, pardon?"
"Oh, sorry." You cleared your throat. "I'm asking if you think he's attractive."
She blushed profusely and nervously sipped on her tea. "I don't know! I suppose!"
"I get the feeling you two know each other."
She spat out her tea and began to panic again. "What would ever give you that silly conclusion? I have no idea what you're talking about! Anyways, take care!" She quickly left.
You stood up right before Honey jumped onto your back, almost knocking the box out of your hands. "Y/n-chan~! Guess what? They do know each other! Suzushima-chan is Kasuga-chan's fiance."
"Woah, really?"
"Kyoya," Tamaki said. "What do you know about this?"
He looked in his book. "They were childhood friends. Their parents set up an arranged marriage between them. I didn't find this information of any importance so I disregarded it."
"And what do you know of Suzushima?"
"Toro Suzushima. Outstanding grades, bare social status. Ordinary looking. He's reliable, in case of persuasion to place blame."
"He doesn't have much presence and is faint hearted." The twins said.
"In order words, he's boring." Kyoya closed his book.
"Wow," You said. "Who knew you guys were so cold to other men."
"We don't have any use of him so there's no reason to be nicer in describing him." Kyoya explained.
"Interesting philosophy." You said teasingly. "I can feel the kindness radiating off of you."
"Suzushima is a good boy." Honey said, on top of Mori. "Right?"
"Yeah." Mori replied.
"Alright men! It's time for a plan!" Tamaki announced. "It's our job at the Ouran Host Club to make every woman happy!"
When Tamaki finished explaining his plan, everybody packed up and left, leaving only Kyoya and you. He had just finished on his laptop and was packing up his things. You walked behind him. "Senpai, is it okay if I ask you a question?"
"Is it about what I said earlier?" He didn't turn around.
"Kind of. I mean, if we're talking about the same thing." You kept your voice steady and light.
"Was it what I said about not needing Suzushima?"
"Woah, no. Not at all. I was thinking about how you did a background check on him."
He paused briefly. "I see. What of it?"
Your voice unintentionally shrank. "Did you do one on me?"
"Yes. A few days ago, in fact. You fail to mention your brother when people ask about your history." His voice was so calm and normal. It made you feel very exposed.
"Everything I've said isn't a lie." You managed to say firmly.
"I know that as well. I understand your situation and I respect your reasonings for not talking about him. You've been through quite a lot, and you have a right to privacy."
"Please answer this next question honestly." His silence meant that he was still listening. "Do you think of me any lower or less, I don't know, appealing, now that you know everything about me?" You then nervously chuckled. "Unless it was already that low to begin with."
"I assure you that my views of you are of a hard working person who seems to make many people happy. Not wanting people to know certain things about you and having certain insecurities do not waver what I 'think' of you."
You let out a breath and grinned, hugging him from the back. He widened his eyes, but didn't tense nor pull away.
"Thank you Kyoya senpai. This really means a lot." You then let go of him. "Okay, I need to walk home before it gets dark. See you tomorrow." You then quickly went to the door. "Sorry if that hug was weird for you!" You called out as you left.
His opinions mattered to you. It was an interesting thought, in its own way.
As you were getting ready for the party, Maria came into your room. "Can't you be at least a bit girly?"
"Funny, that's really funny Maria." You turned to face her and sat down. "You're quite the tomboy yourself sometimes."
"I'm serious y/n/n. You should try a little makeup. You'll look nice for all your friends. One of them is bound to fall for you." She said in an offering tone.
You chuckled and shook your head. "They're all just friends. And I shouldn't have to try to impress anybody."
She sighed, going over to your nightstand and opening a drawer. She took out a black box and opened it, revealing the earrings you got back after your father was imprisoned. "At least wear one of your mom's earrings. They all look cute on you."
You looked in the box. She loved to collect them. "I don't know, maybe."
She grabbed your cheeks and smushed them. "Think about it." You grabbed her cheeks and did the same. "I also have something to tell you."
"Good or bad?"
She hesitated before quickly saying, "My sisters are coming for a few days to visit." And then sped walked out of the room.
"What?!" You followed her. "Please tell me Linda's son won't be coming too." She gave you a look, and that was all you needed to know. "Oh my gosh, I'm going to my club. That's gonna be my safe space for now."
"At least you have a safe space. I'll have to deal with Linda 24/7."
You then went back into your room and hesitantly grabbed a pair of earrings, putting them in your pants pocket. "I gotta go. I should start walking now."
She stopped you. "Take off the blazer at least." You took off the blazer with a pout. She then pulled off your messy ponytail. "Do something better with your hair too." You tied up two messy double buns. "There. You look adorable. Go."
You got there and joined all except Tamaki at the second floor in the auditorium. "Welcome, my little lambs," Tamaki said from the third floor. "To a magical night of your lives!"
Kyoya then spoke up. "As always ladies we are here for your enjoyment. Dance to your heart's content. The best dancer will be decided among us hosts and will be crowned queen. As a reward the queen will receive a passionate kiss on the cheek from our king, Tamaki Suoh. Good luck to all you."
They all began cheering, and you snickered over the stupidity of the 'prize'. The twins came over to you and began playing with your buns.
"These are cute." Hikaru said.
"You have a raggedy yet carefree look. The hairstyle compliments you." Kaoru told you. "Hey, have you ever been to a party before?"
"Not formal parties. Only block parties on my street."
"Well, since you're here y/n, you might as well enjoy yourself." Kyoya said. "We have quite the spread of desserts."
You then innocently asked, "Like squishy ice cream?"
"SQUI—"
"—SHY—"
"—ICE CREAM?!"
Tamaki flipped down to your floor and pointed to Kyoya, who was already dialing a number on his phone. "Kyoya! Order some squishy ice cream right away!"
"Two orders of mochi please." He said to his phone. The twins smothered you in a hug as your face burned from embarrassment. You felt like such an idiot foreigner right now.
In the meantime you danced with some girls, being flamboyant and silly when dancing with them. There was one girl who tripped over your shoes and almost fell until you caught her. She wouldn't stop laughing loudly, and it caused you to laugh as well. Others wanted to talk, so you danced regularly with them.
As you took a break from dancing with some girls Kanako approached you. "There you are y/n, I've been looking everywhere for you. May I have this next dance?"
"It would be my pleasure Lady Kanako." You began to dance with her. "You're so formal. It's really fascinating to me."
"Your expressions and slang are fascinating to me as well." She said.
"Kasuga-chan's here!" Honey announced.
"Honey, Mori," Tamaki said. "Commence with the operation."
Both nodded before swiftly grabbing you away and dashing to an empty room with the twins and Kyoya. "Did you guys really have to be so forceful?"
"Nevermind that, go and change." Hikaru shoved a bag into your hands and pushed you into the changing room.
"Remember y/n, we only have 37 minutes before the climax of the night," Kyoya said. "And a little accident might make the evening more interesting."
You saw a tube of concealer on the small table when you went in. You knew Kyoya left it for you, and it made you smile. You quickly changed into the dark purple dress and put concealer on the scars of your legs. You then remembered the earrings in your pocket and put them on. They were rose gold hoops with what looked like flower petals on them.
You then went outside, where the twins quickly put on your makeup. Kaoru then gently touched one of your earrings. "We didn't put these in the bag. Are these yours?"
"Yeah." You quietly said.
"They compliment the dress. It was good that you brought them." You smiled at him, causing him to blush and look away.
"Y'know," Hikaru said as they finished up. "I know the boss wants to stick to the strategy, but this is..."
"What are you all doing standing around here?" Tamaki asked as he came in. "The guests are wai—"
You stood up and faced him. You then began walking as the boys stared at you. "You look cute!" Honey stated.
Everyone blushed but Honey and Kyoya, who were both smiling. "My face feels heavy." You pouted as you kept walking.
"Hurry up!" The twins called out as you kept walking.
"Yeah, I got it." You muttered. As you left, the twins and Tamaki began to fawn over you.
You walked into the room they told you to. Suzushima turned around with a surprised look. You timidly smiled as you walked over to him. "You're not at all what I pictured from the letter you wrote me."
You kept your smile on. "Really?" He nodded. "Can I actually see the letter please?" He then gave it to you, and you read over it:
I'm in love love with you! From the first day I laid eyes on you I've been head over heals in love! Tee hee! All these feelings I have are harpooned to my heart as they keep whipping around my mind like the restless waves! When the special day comes, I want to randezvou with you on Noah's arc! I do I do!
You wondered who the hell would write such a stupid letter. It was actually a collaborative write with Kyoya and the twins. "Excuse me," Suzushima interrupted your thoughts. "Have we met before?"
"No! It's um, the first time we've ever talked!"
"I'm flattered by your letter, but I'm afraid I can't return your feelings." He said. "My heart has been taken by somebody else."
"My apologies! I didn't realize you had a girlfriend."
"No, she's not my girlfriend. I don't even think she's even interested anymore." He looked very sad.
"Well I don't know about that. Your calming presence is a joy to be around, and I'm sure she'd agree." You offered.
He sighed. "Thank you, but honestly, I'm sure she'd be better off with someone more self confident. That's why I'm leaving next month to study abroad. Hopefully become a better man for her. Maybe it's selfish, but I hope she'll wait for me."
"I won't lie to you, it's a little selfish." An arrow went through him. You squished your index finger and thumb. "Just a little. But Toro, if she really is the love of your life then I'm sure she'll still love you just as much as she probably already does."
He was about to say something as he reached out for you, but you heard the door open. You didn't turn so she wouldn't see your face. "Oh, I'm sorry to intrude." You could tell she was crying. "I'll just leave you two be."
You heard her heels and knew she was running away, and he ran after her. "Kanako, wait!"
You then walked next to Tamaki. "We didn't make things worse, did we?"
"He did run after her. He needs to learn how to be more sure of himself."
You were both walking back when you tripped again over your heels. Tamaki interlocked your arms together. You looked up at him. "You really need to learn how to walk in heels. They look so lovely on you, and it'd be a shame if you tripped and hurt yourself."
You smiled and nodded, leaning on his shoulder. You then tripped again, only for him to hold onto you and prevent you from falling. You giggled, followed shortly by Tamaki chuckling with you.
You both went over to the balcony. The lights hit, and you saw Kanako and Toro. "Let us join together and announce that this couple has been chosen for the final waltz of the night." Tamaki announced.
He said something to her, squeezing his eyes shut and asking her for a dance. You snickered. "Why are you laughing?" Kaoru asked.
"I know he's trying his best, but he looks kinda goofy right now." All the hosts looked from you to them and smiled. "They're awesome together though."
"May this awkward couple be forever blessed!" Tamaki exclaimed.
Kyoya then stepped forward. "And now for the grand prize, a kiss from our royalty."
"Y/n with step in for Tamaki." Kaoru said with a banana peel in his hand.
"And the kiss with be for Toro Suzushima." Hikaru added with another banana peel in his hand.
Tamaki was shocked, and you turned to Kyoya. "I'm not gonna—"
"It'll lower your debt by a third."
"I mean it is just a peck." You smiled and headed down.
"Wha..." Tamaki said.
"Also," You said as you began walking down the stairs. "You guys need to work on your love letter skills, because that was embarring for me to read."
As you went down Suzushima saw you and gave you a surprised expression. "You..."
"Y/n," Kanako said. "Were you the girl with Toro?"
"Hi guys. We just needed to give you two a gentle nudge. I promise I'm not in love with Toro. And I'm really sorry and embarrassed they gave you that stupid letter. I didn't write any of that." You smiled at them.
He nodded. "Thank you."
You then looked at Kanako. "May I?"
"Sure. It'll mark the beginning of our relationship."
Up from the balcony, Tamaki was reaching out for you weakly. "I wonder if this is y/n-chan's first kiss?" Honey thought out loud.
This made Tamaki snap, and he began running to you. "Wait y/n~!"
He slipped on the twins' banana peels and accidentally pushed you, causing you to kiss Toro on the lips instead. Kyoya did say that a little accident would make the night a little more interesting.

Carry You Home Pt.1 | JJK [M]
Tumblr media
↬ Pairing: Jungkook x OC [Dami]
↬ Summary: When Jungkook took a job in Syria to be a diplomat’s detail, he didn't expect to be assigned to her daughter, and he didn't expect to get along with her daughter so well. During an outing, Dami is taken and Jungkook doesn't know why or by who. Jungkook knows time is of the essence so he enlists the help of some friends with the right type of skills and does anything and everything he can to bring her home because it's no longer about his job...it's personal.
↬ Word Count: 3k
↬ Warning/Rating: None/M
↬ Genre: Action/Angst
↬ Part: 1 | 2
Jungkook flashed his badge to the guards at the gate while sitting in the black SUV he had been assigned while working at the Korean embassy. He didn't get it because it stuck out like a sore thumb and was too flashy to blend in, plus being in a place with mountains of sand made it impossible to keep clean. Not that it mattered, it wasn't his vehicle.
"You're clear." the guard in military fatigues handed him back his badge and waved him through the gate. The nice regal looking house stood before him as he pulled the car up to the front so the passenger side faced the door.
Jungkook stepped out slipping his shades on. He had truly come to hate sand. It got everywhere and when it would get windy or when sandstorms would hit, it was impossible to get clean. Being military detail for the Korean ambassador in Syria hadn't been his first choice, but with his mom, in need of money for her treatments there wasn't much option. Syria offered the most money for the least amount of time. No one stayed long and the risk factor was pretty high with things only getting worse as time went on. But he needed the money and luckily the family he was assigned to wasn't awful.
He walked inside the house and took his sunglasses off and slid them on the neck of his shirt. He nodded at the security detail that was on their way back outside, completely drenched in sweat. He definitely didn't envy them. He walked towards his first stop, which happened to be something he always looked forward to. He knocked on the door frame and peered in.
"Jungkook! I didn't know you were working today." he waved him inside with a warm smile.
Jungkook felt himself smile back, "Morning Mr. Yeo, I was requested by your wife. Apparently, Dami wants to go into town today and she asked if I would take her instead of the detail on duty."
He nodded, "Yes, Yeo-ah has been more worried lately. Of course, she can't tell us why, but she has tried limiting the time we're away from the house. Which of course Dami is giving her hell about."
"I would expect nothing less," Jungkook smirked.
"Yeah, I guess you wouldn't." He laughed.
"I'm going to head upstairs and save your wife the torment. When I get back, I'd like to talk to you about the book you lent me." Jungkook stated and Mr. Yeo beamed.
"Yes, of course!" Jungkook nodded and left the office. There were positives to the Yeo family, one being that Yeo Dongsoo happened to be a university professor of history and ethics. He worked remotely and mostly did online classes so he could be with his wife Minseo. Then there was their daughter Dami. Both of them had a rough start and constantly butted heads but within a few months, they started to consider each other as friends. So, it made working long hours a little more tolerable.
He made his way up the stairs and heard the godawful bubblegum k-pop music Dami listened to. He poked his head in and saw her drawing in the sketch pad he had bought her for her birthday last month. He walked in and turned the stereo off.
"Hey!" he watched her head pop up and minor annoyance graced her features.
"I'm doing you a favor in saving your ears from that god-awful racket." he walked over to her desk and sat down in the chair facing her, "I really need to get you into real music. American classic rock will speak to your soul Dami, I promise you."
"No thanks, I'll stick to my shitty pop music."
"Well in the car, I'm manning the radio. Last time will be the one and only time you touch the stereo in my car ever again."
Her face lit up, "Mom's letting me leave?"
"Looks that way, so get your shit and let's go." She scrambled from the bed and started searching for her shoes, "Where are you wanting to go?"
She smiled at Jungkook, "Jason wanted to meet for lunch in town."
He tried to hide his grimace. Jason was an American politician’s son and Dami and him had met at one of those fancy dinners for diplomacy and all of that. Jungkook couldn't stand Jason, everything about the guy just rubbed him the wrong way. He had tried to talk to Dami about it but it had ended in a fight and since then he kept his mouth shut and just made sure to keep an eye on him. Along with a threat that he would break every bone in Jason's body if he tried to pull anything with Dami. Jason had made the comment that Jungkook was in love with Dami, which was absurd. They were friends and enough of an age gap, that while legal, is only borderline socially acceptable. He also works for her parents and the Korean Government so with that whole list and the fact that they were just friends made his claim baseless. "Ready?" he asked as soon as she had her shoes on.
"Yup!" She smiled and followed him out the door and climbed into the passenger seat of the car. Jungkook pulled out of the gated estate and pulled out onto a paved road and headed into town.
He popped her hand when she tried to reach for the stereo, "Hey I wasn't joking. You lost DJ privileges." She stuck her tongue out at him and he rolled his eyes, "real mature Dami."
It didn't take very long to get into the busy part of town where Dami had chosen to meet up with Jason. Jungkook knew she tried to butter him up by choosing to eat with Jason at his favorite lunch spot. He found a parking space a little further down from the actual restaurant and parked the car. Both of them got out and started the small walk.
"Hey," Dami said softly looking over at him, "I wanted to thank you for taking me. I know Jason isn't your favorite person."
"My opinion doesn't matter. If he makes you happy then I can tolerate him." He gave her a smirk and she rolled her eyes but a smile followed.
Once her eyes fell on Jason, she hurried forward to greet him with a hug. Jason swooped down and gave Dami a passionate kiss before tilting his head back up, "Jungkook." he nodded towards his direction. It put him on high alert because of how territorial Jason was with Dami. He eyed him but nodded back.
"Dami I'm just going to sit over there," He pointed to a few tables down. He would be far enough away to give them privacy but close enough to keep a watchful eye on surroundings. The small restaurant had a patio in the front with tables and umbrellas that gave a brief relief from the beaming sun. He pulled out his phone and decided now would be a good time to write back to some emails from his mother and brother. He never spent too long with his eyes on his screen and always made sure to take a detailed sweep of the surroundings before going back to his phone. It was something had become second nature to him after being in the Special Forces. He made sure he was always aware of his surroundings. Once he was done he slid the phone back into his pocket and watched the two of them.
Jungkook never understood the appeal of Jason. He had to hear about how perfect he was and it irked him because no guy was perfect and they all wanted one thing, no matter what they told you. He had spent enough years in the service to read situations and read people. It was part of his job, a job that he was very good at. He had kept a watchful eye on Jason from the beginning. There was something that never sat right with him. Jason had issues with Jungkook since meeting with him and he never understood why. It had come across as jealousy until recently. He had started to look venomous at Jungkook every time they crossed paths. Jungkook noticed Jason trying to turn conversations to political topics, something he knew Dami detested. It wasn't long before Jungkook also noticed he would talk about Mr. and Mrs. Yeo and attempt to hold conversations that, to Jungkook, seemed like he was trying to fish for any information she was willing to divulge. Which wasn't much.
He was snapped away from his thoughts when he noticed the both of them stand up and Jason throws some money on the table. Jungkook stood up as well and weaved his way through the patio over to them when he noticed they had started to walk away and continued to put more distance between him and the two of them. He tried closing the distance between them but it seemed every person on the sidewalk felt the need to bump into him making getting to her a little harder. Once close enough he put his hand on Dami's shoulder and turning her towards him, "And where do you think you're going?" she knew better than to just take off.
"Jason wanted to show me a hole in the wall shop a few streets over." Dami bit her lip knowing she probably should have told Jason to wait for Jungkook.
"Hey, I've got her. She'll be with me." Jason interrupted grabbing DAMI's hand and pulling her closer to him.
"Not a chance in hell." Jungkook shook his head.
"I'm more than capable of keeping her safe from whatever dangers you Korean’s think is out here." Jason's slightly aggressive tone had Jungkook's training heighten his senses.
"Where she goes, I go," Jungkook said flatly.
"Dude, what is your problem? It's two streets over. She'll be fine." he pushed.
Jungkook felt the anger and annoyance start to bubble up in his chest, "I said no." his voice was low and he made sure to pronounce every single syllable. There was no way in hell Jungkook would let Dami take a walk without him. He knew more about the volatile dangers within their area than Dami did, but he had to keep it that way. He hated keeping information from her, especially when it would stop her from making rash decisions. Secrets were the one thing he hated most about his job.
"Look, you know Jungkook has to come. But he can stay a little further back so we have some privacy. Jason, you knew this was a thing from the beginning." She looked between them.
Jungkook shot her a look. She knew that he wasn't happy with her suggestion but her eyes pleaded with him and he fought within himself. He knew he shouldn't but he also knew she hadn't been out much lately and he didn't want her to feel like she was being smothered. He relented but his senses went on high alert. "I'll be a few paces behind, but that's it." He stared down Jason.
Jason's face was filled with anger and annoyance, but he also seemed panicked. Jason tugged on Dami's hand motioning her to continue walking. He pulled out his phone and was typing quickly his mouth in a straight line. He gently pulled on Dami's arm forcing her to walk faster which caused Jungkook to have to walk at a quicker pace. His eyes were sweeping the surroundings because something didn't feel right and he could feel it deep in his bones. He came to a group of men arguing and tried his best to go around them but each time it was as if he was being held up and lengthening the distance between Jungkook and Dami. His eyes scanned and came to a stop on a van. It was nondescript and he had remembered seeing it parked up the street when they had sat down at the restaurant and had kept an eye on it. He remembered seeing the tape that was around one of the side mirrors and the person in the driver seat had sat in the van but never moved or made any indication he was going to. This had put Jungkook on high alert, and he started watching people as discreetly as he could and hoping he could close the gap between him and Dami.
Jungkook reached behind him where his gun had sat all morning. He carefully turned the safety off just in case things went south and he needed to reach for it quickly. He made sure that the shirt that he wore laid back over it so it was hidden from view. He noticed Jason starting to look around and up and down the street. Jungkook heard the van before he saw it and he started rushing to close the distance between them.
“DAMI!” he yelled.
She turned to look at him while the van came into view and screeched to a halt right beside her. Jungkook broke out into a run and was weaving through people. He drew his gun with it pointed to the ground and watched as if it was in slow motion as the door slid open and someone reached out grabbing her. She fought back and went on the defensive just as Jungkook had taught her. She yelled for Jungkook and he pushed himself even harder and broke through the people. He stopped raised his gun and shot the guy's wrist that had a hold on her and felt great pleasure in hearing his howls of pain. His stomach dropped when he saw Jason start to fight her, forcing her into the van. She kicked at him and continued to yell. Jungkook couldn't take another shot without risking hitting her. She kicked out and came in contact with Jason's stomach causing him to bend over. Jungkook took that moment to line up his shot.
Two men rushed him from the alley with knives in hand. By instinct, Jungkook elbowed one in the face disarming him and kicking the knife away and the other came at him forcing Jungkook to pull the trigger as the guy had been ready to throw the knife at him. The man slumped to the ground. His momentum had been slowed and he called out to DAMI. Jason looked back at Jungkook and brought his elbow to her face and her body went limp. She disappeared into the van and Jason followed. Jungkook raised his gun and aimed for the tires as the van drove away but he was never able to get a clear shot.
"Fuck!" He yelled and within seconds he was running back to the SUV that was parked around the corner. He knew he didn't have long before he would lose them. He yelled for people to get out of his way and pushed the ones that didn’t move fast enough out of his way. He rushed to the driver side and climbed into the vehicle and started the engine and throwing it into drive not even bothering to check his mirrors the shift to drive was quick and gravel shot out from under the tires as he shot down the street with his seatbelt swings beside him, completely ignored. He ran a stop sign and turned right cutting off a car and speeding through the makeshift downtown area hoping to close the distance between him and the piece of shit van.
Jungkook pulled out his phone and held down the number three and turned it on speaker and tossing it on the dashboard as he weaved in and out of traffic. Within two rings he heard a voice that made him want to yell in triumph.
"What Jeon? I'm busy trying to get laid." a familiar voice floated through the speakers.
"Yoongi I need you to track a phone for me." He rushed out and laid on the horn when someone got in his way.
"Jungkook I'm kind of in the mid-"
"Yoongi, please! Someone took Dami and I'm so far behind them I'm not sure I'll be able to find them without it." He begged because his job was to protect her and he had failed.
"Alright, hold on." He heard shuffling and a muffled voice, "Okay what's her phone number?"
"96356891224 and I need it now Yoongi."
"I know Jungkook, I'm working on it. The internet isn't exactly top-notch out here."
"Yoongi," he warned. He didn't care if Yoongi was older he didn’t have time to care about coming off as an asshole.
"Okay, it looks like she's about ten kilometers west of you."
"West?" he was confused. He couldn't remember any threats that were west of their area.
"Yeah, it looks like they might not be on a road anymore."
Jungkook cursed, "Is there any way that you could try and keep her on GPS and try to keep me on course to intercept them? I'm sure I could probably ch-"
"The signal dropped."
"What!?"
"I mean it could be a satellite thing, but it's unlikely. My guess is they ditched the sim card." He could hear the sound of Yoongi’s typing.
Jungkook punched the steering wheel and yelled, "Goddammit!" He pulled off the road and punched the wheel over and over.
"I can keep an eye on her number and let you know if it pops back up." He said sympathetically.
"I'm headed your way." He shook out his hand and turned the car around heading towards Yoongi’s house and hoping that he could help and give him something to go on. At this point, he didn't have much information and he didn't want to call the Yeo’s yet without having more information and a plan on how to get her back.
AN: Pulling this from the depths of my writing folder and figured I could go ahead and post for the first chapter since I already have a few written. like, reblog, smile, all that good stuff.

Tumblr media
The party hard senior who was still true to himself and his friends
He was so ready for the real world, but still made sure he was in tune with where he came from.
Always made sure his younger friends had someone to go to for advice on their years to come in hell highschool
Tumblr media
Doesn't openly show affection towards his friends because they're in younger grades (at least in public)
Still makes sure they're comfortable and knows they're wanted around...even if it's just to hang out in the Senior parking lot and brag to all the other under classmen
Doesn't mind being looked up to as a role model because it makes him rethink everything he does and how it would look to his friends
An overly fatherly figure sometimes
He tells one of them to go home and finish homework before coming to hang out
Tumblr media
Yet he still hangs loose and let's the boys drive his baby car for the monthly road trip they take together
Makes sure they all are okay at all times and they're not hurt
Still does the head count in secret and has a mini heart attack when Hyuck runs to the bathroom without saying anything
Tumblr media
"A music video?" Mark asked, just to make sure he didn't misunderstand.
The boys had hopeful gleams in their eyes and a pleading expression across their faces.
"Yeah okay sure," Mark said and they got ready to celebrate.
"over my dead body." Mark slammed his locker closed and they all groaned -- drawing attention from other seniors walking down the Senior Hallway.
"Oh come on. We're only going to the train tracks to shoot one scene. And then you can drop us off at home and go on your way and go to your old man job or something." Hyuck waved off the last part.
"No! The train tracks?! Get out of here!" Mark said and they all bummed out.
Mark began walking away but came back to justify something.
"And making floral arrangements at the flower shop is not an old man job! It's art!" Mark said to Hyuck's face and stomped away.
"Yeah, for women in their 70's!" Hyuck screamed one last attack.
~~~~~~~~
"One scene. 20 minutes. Then you're all going home." Mark said as he walked by the lunch table filled with his friends.
"I got a date tonight." Mark wiggled his eyebrows.
All the boys slapped him on the back except one;
"So I guess Grandma Edith from the flower boutique finally returned your calls?"
Everyone snapped their heads to Hyuck who sat their sassily with his chin resting in his palm.
Mark cocked an eyebrow, "what did you say?"
"He said he wishes you luck and we'll see you at 8." Renjun said as he got up and dragged Hyuck out of the Cafeteria by the ear.
Tumblr media
"And now a speech from an Honor Graduate: Mark Lee." The principal introduced
The crowd was quiet except for the 6 other boys sitting in the crowd that were being too loud.
"I KNOW THAT GUY!!"
"HE'S MY BEST FRIEND!"
"GET OFF THE STAGE!"
"DON'T FORGET US MAN!"
Mark motioned for them to shut up, and everyone chuckled at his actions.
"Friends, faculty, families, and everyone else who is present today: Welcome. Welcome to the last day of this chapter, but the beginning of anew." Mark read and everyone smiled and were waiting for the intelligent man to continue.
"Ya know...I never thought I would be standing on this stage giving this speech. I didn't even think I would finish highschool at some points." Mark admitted
"But I can thank today to my teachers, family, and most importantly my friends." Mark said motioning to the different mentioned people.
"Yes, the group of boys who decided it upon themselves to make themselves known before I could even begin talking...those boys." Everyone chuckled.
Hyuck, Renjun, and Jaemin held up hearts while Jisung tried to hide himself from the attention.
"Now you're probably thinking: Mark...why are you friends with under classmen?? You're a senior...right??" Mark said and some actually wanted to know why.
"Well...at some times I wonder that too...but then I realise that I would be lost without them." The boys perked up, hearing Mark finally talk about how much they mean to him.
"They found me and leeched onto me when I couldn't find myself. I was cutting class, skipping school in general, and getting in fights...I'm not proud of it...but I'm proud of myself for admitting it; because their are some people who want to bury their high school life so deep inside their memories that they can't remember things even if they wanted to."
"...they lose themselves more..."
"But I found myself again...thanks to those 6 dorks sitting right over there." Mark chuckled, and everyone could see the gloss in his eyes.
"They taught me that I need to look after them...but also myself." Mark cleared his throat.
"They taught me patience, leniency, and discipline." Mark counted on his fingers.
"I went from letting them drive around with me at 2 in the morning to not letting them get near my car without getting their homework done."
"And I realized how much I rubbed off on them...but much more how they rubbed off on me."
"Because I sometimes forget that I am an 18 year old in highschool and not a 28 year old dad." Mark scratched his neck as everyone laughed.
"But sometimes we need to come from a rougher past to set out on a steadier future." He got more serious.
"Nothing will be easy in life. Not even pumping gas, have you seen those prices?!" Everyone laughed again.
"No but really. I'm not promising an easy future for any of us." Mark was talking in a room full of a people, but made eye contact with his closest friends.
"We're all going to a hit a bump in the road that we were never prepared for...but we need to strap in and understand that these 18 years is what have prepared us for those types of things."
"From cramming for Mr. Kim's bio test an hour before, to cramming a stock write up to have it on your boss' desk in 20 minutes...everything shifts."
"But we adapt, overcome, and conquer these battles...for there are people around you to help you when you feel like you can't get up again."
Hyuck quickly wipes a tear as he blames it on allergies.
Hyuck: "That damn pollen."
Renjun: "...this is a winter graduation..."
"There's someone just a shout away..."
"...just don't forget the way I called you. Because I hope it always stays like this..."
Applause erupted as Mark took his seat again.
~~~~~~~~~
"Mark Lee. Attending Seoul National University in their English Language and Literature Department."
The 6 groups of boys start crying together.
Mark was supposed to be studying in the States...but this was unlike anything they could've asked for.
They got on their feet and cheered as loud as they could for their friend walking across the stage.
Tumblr media
"Well I guess this it." Chenle said as he closed Mark's trunk.
"Dude...I'm moving closer to all of you." Mark rolled his eyes as he made sure it was fully closed.
"Can you not let me have one moment?!" Chenle argued and Mark couldn't help messing up the younger boys hair.
"I'm gonna miss seeing you guys crowding around my locker." Mark pinched Jeno's cheek.
"Then I guess we'll crowd your apartment till you get home..." Hyuck shrugged.
"You leave us with no choice." Jaemin added on and everyone played along.
"Haha. No. Didn't say that." Mark laughed as he put a hat on his head.
"So what's your roommate's name?" Jisung asked and Mark shrugged.
"Wong Yukhei, but I've been texting him and he goes by Lucas." Mark fixes his hat in the window of his car.
"Seems...fishy." Renjun raised is eyebrows.
"No. No conspiracies. He's my age, he's from Hong Kong and he's in the physical fitness department. He's a regular boy." Mark cut Renjun off.
"...that's what the government wants you to think..."
"Huh?"
"Nothing."
Mark rolled his eyes and looked at his friends.
"I'm not replacing you guys, if that's what you think." He said and they stayed silent as they looked at each other.
"I'm still gonna drive you guys everywhere and boss you guys around to do homework. Makes sure Renjun flosses near his braces. Makes sure Jeno wears a mask around his cats. Make sure Hyuck never stays up too late. Makes sure Chenle never loses his awesome laugh. Makes sure Jisung stays the same mochi mouse he is now."
The boys started looking up on the situation.
"I'm here guys." Mark said and they all attacked him in a sudden hug.
"And I'm not going anywhere."

Chapter 3:
It was near the evening when Chen returned with a bag of clothes for her to take her to his place, where she was going to be living from then on as a maid.
Chen had blindfolded her before sitting her in the car, something about not keeping any trace. The entire car ride home was quiet, she felt stuffy sitting beside this terrifying mafia person but she concentrated on her breathing, not wanting her anxiety to get the best of her.
When they arrived, Chen opened the door for her and held her by the arm as he guided her, more like tugged her, up the porch stairs and into the house. Once inside, her blindfold was opened and she blinked a couple of times to adjust to the light before looking at awe at the 2 story mansion she was standing at the entrance of.
'I have to clean this place every day? This house is huge, I'm just one person!' She thought as she trailed her eyes over the place.
The entrance led to a drawing room, with stairs on either side of it, leading up to a hallway that lead to other rooms (she assumed). To the right of the living room was the kitchen and to the left was 2 more rooms.
As Minhee was looking around, two men who looked like security guards with guns on their sides came up to Chen and she overheard him telling them that if she were to leave the premises of this house without him, she was to be captured or killed. Her heart lurched at this and she heard Chen say, "You understand what will happen to you if you leave the premises right?" She nodded. 'That's right. I can't forget where I am, no matter how normal he seems, " she thought to herself.
After the guards left, Chen closed the door and said, "Come, I'll show you your room and your work."
She followed him to the left, where the two rooms were. He pointed to one of the rooms and said "This leads to a panic room. Don't even try entering it; it's locked with a code."
Then he pointed to the room next to it, "This is your room, it has a bathroom attached to it, " she opened the door and entered to see an empty room aside from a closet and a carpet.
"Oh yeah, there's no bed yet. Nobody stays here. I'm gonna get you a bed tomorrow, or whatever, just stay on the floor or something." he said, like it was the least of his concerns. Which it probably was.
"There are two rooms on the left upstairs, one is my bedroom and the other is my study, those are off-limits, don't go in there and clean it only when I'm present. Am I clear?" he said as he looked her in the eyes.
"Ye-yeah," she replied, a bit nervous.
He nodded and then turned around, going out of the room.
"Follow me," he said and started leading Minhee towards the stairways, past it, he lead her under the stairways, there, she noticed, was a door, hidden underneath the darkness.
He punched in a code hidden on the ceiling and the door opened, and she followed him inside. A strong stench polluted the air and she internally gagged at the smell. It smelled like..blood, she realized with horror, so much blood, and as soon as Chen turned on lights, she physically recoiled at the sight.
Blood was everywhere, complicated metal instruments, which she could only assume to be torture devices, were strewn about the floor, some stained with blood and metal chains hung from the wall. A cold shiver ran down her spine when she heard Chen chuckle beside her as he said, "Ah look at you, so scared," he took a step towards her and she stepped back, struggling to breathe through the fear she felt at the eerie look in his eyes.
Her back hit the back of the wall and she started panicking slowly, her breath coming out in short gasps as he got closer and closer, till he was an inch away from him, and whispered in a stone cold voice, "Welcome to the torture chamber. If you dare betray me, this is where you will end up, got it?"
She nodded, her heart running a mile a minute. Thankfully, he stepped away from her before she had a full-on panic attack and said, in a lighter voice, "For now, you're only here to clean. So get to it."
And with that, he left the room. She stood there for a couple of minutes, just catching her breath before she decided she should get to cleaning this maniacal place. At this point, she was more afraid of betraying Chen or accidentally doing something wrong, than anything.
She really wanted to live, she realized when she went to the kitchen to look for cleaning supplies. She wanted to live without getting beaten up all the time, and she wanted to eat well for once in her life, and she wanted to do a good job at her work so that one day, she could go into the outside world and explore it. Surely, he would let her do that one day, right? She hoped for it anyway.
She scoured the entire kitchen but could not find the exact cleaning products she needed so she ventured upstairs to find Chen.
She didn't know if he would be in his bedroom or his study so she just stood out in the hall, looking between the two closed doors, not knowing which one is either. Hesitantly, she knocked on one and exhaled in relief when she saw it was the study after hearing a "Come in" from him.
"What do you want?" asked Chen, not looking up from whatever he was reading in a file on his desk. She swallowed thickly, she really didn't want to disturb him, he looked like someone hard at work.
"There are not enough materials for me to clean the-" she broke off, not knowing what to call the room, "the chamber.." she trailed off. He looked up at her, his expression unreadable.
"Oh. The previous cleaner used to use his own material," he said, getting up from his chair.
"Oh..what happened to him?" she asked timidly, wondering why he needs her then.
"Oh, he just died in this turf war a couple of weeks ago. Can't really trust anyone outside the business so I didn't get around to hiring a new cleaner yet." Chen explained, so casually, she couldn't help but feel a bit shocked.
"Anyway, list what you need here, and I'll get them on my way home," he said, handing her a pen and paper as he started putting on his jacket.
She nodded as she hurriedly scribbled out the names of the products.
He took it from her and then started putting it away in his pocket as she turned to leave when he said, "I'll be home late, so just go to sleep or something, clean tomorrow." And then he paused as she nodded before adding, "I'll get you a blanket."
She gave him a grateful smile and a thank you before leaving to her room. He later got her a blanket and a pillow before leaving the house, locking the door after him, which reminded her, yet again, that she was a captive in here.
Sighing, she decided she would mull over her thoughts later and lied on the hard floor, wincing a bit because of her wounds that were still barely healed. 'At least the carpet can keep me warm,' she thought before closing her eyes, and instantly falling asleep.
She didn't know how much later it was when she heard the door to her room close, the sound of which seemed to have awakened her. She sat up with a jolt, immediately alert as fear raced through her mind. For a moment, she thought she was still in her foster home, and her foster father was coming to beat her up again. Then she remembered where she was and breathed a sigh of relief before feeling alarmed again. 'Who was at my door then..' she thought as she looked at the clock on the wall. It had only been about 15 minutes that she fell asleep, Chen said he would be late, so it couldn't be him, right?
Slowly getting up, she looked out the window and saw the place where his car was supposed to be, to be empty. Now she was definitely sure it was not him, and she crept up slowly towards the door, putting her ear against it in an attempt to listen to whoever was outside.
Her heart started thundering in its rib-cage when she heard a man's voice talking to someone, she assumed, on the phone as she could only hear his voice.
"Yeah, I am just getting familiar with the place," he said in a low voice, but not low enough for her not to hear.
"This is a large house dude," she heard him speak once more before moving to somewhere further in the house, away from her earshot.
Not knowing what to do, Minhee slowly crept back into her makeshift bed on the floor and tried to stay calm. She decided she will stay awake till Chen got home and inform him about this intruder. She just hoped he would be back sooner. And she really wished she had something in the room for protection.
However, soon she heard the front door close, and no sound of Chen's car arriving, so she just laid in bed, waiting but somehow a bit relieved since the intruder had seemed to leave the house.
It was about 2 hours later when the sound of a car engine woke her up from her half-asleep state; the adrenaline had kept her awake for the first hour and a half before she started dozing off. She looked out the window to see Chen locking the car door before heading towards the entrance of the house, and she leapt out of bed to meet him.
As soon as he locked the door, he found her in front him, her face nervous and he asked, "I thought I told you to sleep?"
She nodded frantically before going closer to him, as if it was a secret she was telling him, "When you were gone, I think someone entered the house. I heard from my room someone talking on the phone saying the house was huge and-"
"Are you sure this wasn't from outside the place?" he cut her off, a sceptical expression on his face. She shook her head, "I woke up from the sound of the door to my room closing, and I heard him walk around the house saying he was getting familiar with it. I also heard him when he left," she finished.
Chen frowned, 'How could that be? I locked the door from inside,' he thought.
"There are guards around the house, if you really think there was someone, I'm going to tighten the security here. So if it was a ploy of yours, your chance of escaping just got lower, I'm going to be keeping a very close eye on you. Keep it in mind."
Minhee looked at him with wide eyes at this as he got up the stairs and disappeared.
'How could he think it was me? Why would I even..' she thought, her head jumbled up at the words of his distrust towards her. It took her a long time to fall asleep that night.
A/N: I know there wasn't much in this chapter, but this is really a warm up before good stuff start happening. I hope you like them :)
