Okay, Unfinished Business 13x20 THEE Gabriel master thesis of episodes for his characterisation tells me one very important fact about him, and that’s that he is an unreliable narrator.
This is perhaps not even his fault, years and years of suffering the worst kind of abuse it’s hard to think clearly about much at all, let alone the intricacies of what happened to put you where you are and trying to understand other perspectives. It’s hard when you’ve spent a near decade (or undisclosed amount of time being shifted between Earth and Hell) with only the worst kind of torture at the forefront of your mind.
Or maybe, he does know. He is the trickster in every way that matters regardless of if he’s the original Loki or not. I’d find it pretty hard to believe that the trickster who haunts Sam Winchester’s nightmares would be unaware of the irony of his situation and the symbolism of his own torture, I imagine that makes the punishment all the more humiliating and bitter. Gabriel is also a show boat. A peacock. He’s always paraded himself around as tough and unknowable, he’s also a known liar and both of those traits work together to create a very convincing story in whatever episodes story it is he wants to tell. But he is a liar.
What sounds better? Gabriel ran away to hide under the skirt of his pagan friends?
Tumblr media
Or, Gabriel was living a luxurious life where he was pampered and beloved;
Tumblr media
(That’s right, the pornstars obviously)
That these so called friends wined and dined him, fed him his fill, and then when he was at his most vulnerable after they’d made well sure he felt comfortable enough to let his guard down- THEN, and only then, did they strike out against him. He could have never seen it coming. The ultimate betrayal.
Gabriel can’t keep his story straight the whole episode. He opens with a bold faced lie (can you spot the resemblance to any other lies so far?)
Tumblr media
He knows this looks bad. He’s already so fragile, and he knows the Winchesters want him for his grace so I can’t imagine him knocking on their door for help was a decision he came to easily. So these two men who are bigger than him, stronger than him, and have a bone to pick with him, bring him into their motel room while he’s bleeding his guts out and can barely stand. He peacocks. I’m fine, “you should see the other guy”, wink wink. God forbid they know he’s weak, god forbid they think he’s any more pathetic than they already do.
He’s guarding his very fragile ego right now, frankly, it’s the only thing he has left.
I don’t doubt for a moment that Loki’s POV is any less clouded by his own personal prejudices and ego, they’re very much the same after all. Loki was in that cave, Gabriel did rescue him.
Tumblr media
These are facts. That doesn’t change that Loki freed Gabriel from a cave of his own and saved him from his family as well.
Tumblr media
They are equals in this fact. But neither willing to admit to it. Loki I understand, he’s given very little time to plead his case and so he gets right to the point. I saved Gabriel’s life, he killed my father.
Gabriel however, has plenty of time to explain himself and wastes it spinning a story in which he can both simultaneously look cool and still find himself to be the ultimate victim in. He wastes time keeping the Winchesters in the dark and it could have cost them their lives when they ran in after Gabriel without the whole story. Lucky for them, no one here cares about the Winchesters lol Loki is as occupied with Gabriel and he is with Loki. But they could’ve been hurt!
I’m not saying Gabriel doesn’t deserve catharsis, that he shouldn’t get to kill Loki and his children. I don’t need to, Gabriel does-
Tumblr media
Maybe that was the tricksters best trick so far, that Gabriel managed to warp his own memories and perception of what happened to fuel his own survival, and now that he’s out and the world is real again he can’t make himself let go of what he had to tell himself. That Loki was unnecessarily cruel. That Loki snapped out of nowhere. That his closest confidant sold him out for money of all things. He can’t let himself remember it was more complex than that, he tells himself he needs this, because if he doesn’t he’ll have to admit that under all this peacocking and lying he is that weak and broken and scared. If Gabriel has to sit down with the reality that he’s never going to be that cool and sexy guy who gets everyone he wants and couldn’t care less, he’d probably want to kill himself (which is what really starts to get him down in the following episodes because guess what, killing Loki didn’t fix anything he’s still broken, :( always will be)
I think he believes if he can lie hard enough, this fabrication could be real. It can be real to him at least, so he doesn’t have to face the humiliation of either admitting to his own stupid naïveté and he didn’t see the obvious coming, or that he knowing and wilfully begged Loki for a place by his side and got throw down hard for his cowardice. But it’s not like there’s anyone left to contest his story now.

The Avenger's Initiative, Chapter 8

Tumblr media
Loki’s POV
"You're on your own," I chuckled, watching Steve leave the room on the small monitor. I turned to the young maiden on the cot, "while I'd love to say it's been charming getting to know you, you aren't much of a talker. And I don't feel like lying, not to someone who is off the board, anyways."
She didn't fight me this time as I went towards the stairs. Once I hit the second floor, Steve was pushing past me. He had sheer anger in his eyes. I smiled to myself.
"Morning Cap," I chuckled, "how's it-"
"Shut up!" he growled, hitting the stairs to the attic.
I love a little chaos in the mornings.
Making my way past the main floor and into the basement I could hear Thor still taking out his aggressions on the one they called 'Cassie.' Only it didn't sound like it was a lesson he was teaching her, since I could hear fairly loud moans of pleasure erupting from her throat. At the end of the hall, I looked up to the camera, "if either one of you are done tearing the heads off of one another do you mind buzzing me in?"
After a pregnant pause, the door clicked, and I opened it. Sam was staring at his maiden, while the other three glared at him. Closing the door, their daggered eyes pointed towards me.
"Sounds like the feisty one is enjoying her time with my brother," I chuckled, biting my upper lip, "would you care to take your maiden for some exercise?"
"Can't leave them alone."
"Yes, I do suppose that's right," I nodded, "maybe that's why I came down. Think of that, Wilson?"
His eyes flicked angrily at me, then towards his maiden, and his features softened. I felt my nostrils flare in disgust as he'd become almost attached to her in such a short time as she was to him.
Weak-willed pathetic humans.
Without another word to me Wilson undid his maiden's bonds, and they made their way outside of the room. I took a seat on the barstool that was to the right of the door. Taking my time, I looked at the three remaining women in the room.
The one that they had called Danielle had been part of the first group. Her wavy blonde hair was identical to that of her twin sisters. The only real difference I could spot was a small beauty mark right at the peak of her brow. The one they called Mackenzie was mark free. Neither one of them seemed outlandishly beautiful or special in any way. Looking at Danielle I could see that her thoughts were pretty mind-numbing. She was trying to remember how long that they had been down here.
"Four weeks," I answered simply, bringing her out of her own thoughts. She looked at me and furrowed her brow, "You've been down here for four weeks. They'll probably transfer you and Brittany to separate rooms soon enough...if you are deemed ready."
"What?" she asked, "how did you-"
"Don't engage," the raven-haired beauty growled from the corner. I turned my attention to her. She had long black hair and piercing green eyes. A few small piercings adorned her. Her ears and one directly above her lip. What did they call that? A Marilyn Monroe? She glared at me with a sense of knowledge, "that's Loki. He and Thor are from Asgard...he can look into your mind.  He’ll try to trick you."
"Oh, I can do many things, my sweet pet," I smiled, finding myself drawn to her. The magnetism couldn't be ignored, even through a deathly glare and slight snarl towards me. I got out of my seat and snapped myself in front of her. I let my hand brush against the side of her cheek, "I would love to be able to show you."
"Didn't you hear me earlier?" she asked, leaning forward. I looked at her curiously as I felt myself wanting to kiss her already. She batted her eyes at me, and I leaned in closer. When our lips were almost touching, she whispered, "I'd rather fuck your brother!"
My smile fell and I backed away from her. I felt my nostrils flaring as I tried to handle her insult and she could sense that she'd already gotten under my skin with her comments. She smiled and puckered her lips as if to blow me a kiss, just to add insult to injury, “I would say you look a little green…but your ears are tipped blue, Jotun.”
Huffing, I backed away, throwing a faux smile onto my face as I tried to calm myself, "no matter. You still haven't followed instructions given by goodie too shoes Rogers, so you'll find your fate with my brother soon enough. Though from what I hear, Thor's not as gentle with Midgardian women. Us gods often forget we can be far more powerful than you mortals...you know too much power and strength."
"Did it skip over you when they doled it out?" she taunted. Just as I turned to retort, Thor came back into the room carrying the first girl. She was passed out, and her clothes were torn, “or are you just weaker because you’re the runt Jotun your father abandoned.”
"Oh, brother," Thor greeted happily. I groaned internally. He was like a stupid golden retriever, always happy and excited to see me for whatever reason, "I didn't know you were coming down today."
"Sam is exercising his maiden," I said shortly. Thor nodded and put the woman down, tying her back in her place, "I suppose you've exercised this one enough?"
"I know not of my strength," he chuckled, as if we weren't in a room of abducted women, and rather at some Midgardian bar. He looked around the room and he remembered the earlier scenario with my raven-haired beauty, "the other one. Has she taken her vitamins?"
"No," she spat, looking directly at me, "I'm not taking this stupid crap. I've done work in pharmacology. I know what those are."
"Then you'll know that they are good for you," Thor grinned. He picked up the remaining cup of vitamins and offered them to her, "here. Take them and we'll have no problems."
"I'm. Not. Taking. Them," she growled, kicking the cup out of his hands. He chuckled as she tried to kick at him as he got closer, "GET OFF!"
"Oh, you are going to be a fun one," he chuckled, untying her and subduing her as though she were nothing, "I can tell."
"Wait!"
Thor looked back at me from the door, "What is it brother? Can't you see I'm to exercise this one now?"
My mouth opened but the words failed to come to me as she continued to try to get away from him. She wriggled in his grasp, and he smacked her ass hard enough for her to yelp.
"Alright little one. It's your turn." Thor roared as he opened the door to a separate room. The door slammed shut and there was a crackle of electricity down the track lighting.
"The two remaining coherent women looked at me. Both of their features mimicked one another and the one known as Mackenzie smirked.
"You. What are you smirking at?" I growled, feeling my anger as she started slightly laughing at me.
"You just going to let Thor walk all over you for the rest of your life?" she taunted.
"What are you talking about?"
"It's obvious that your crazy psycho ass likes her," she scoffed, "I mean really. You were going to kiss her in a dungeon where other abducted girls are."
"Yeah, it was kind of creepy," her sister added in, "but it fits I guess."
"Definitely fits something Jade would do," Mackenzie agreed, "too bad she's in there fucking your brother."
My stomach worked itself into a knot as I tore myself from the room and ran down to the room that Thor had taken Jade into. Practically ripping the door off the hinges, I saw Thor had cuffed her to the bed and had ripped her pants off of her already.
"Brother! Why are you here?"
"Let me take care of this one," I began. Thor raised a brow at me, "she purposefully didn't take the vitamins once she found out that you were taking care of the girls. She obviously has some sort of affinity for you."
"Well of course she would," he smiled proudly, "I am the god of thunder."
"Would it really be a punishment though?" I asked, "if you were to do it?"
"I suppose not," he sighed. He looked towards Jade and smirked. Holding his hands up he let small sparks of electricity flow between his fingers, "however. If you are bad again, I may just have to punish you in another way."
"Is it really punishment?" she asked with a teasing wink. He sent her a half smirk before turning back to me. Looking at Jade, she sent me another one of her little kisses as if to mock me.
"Brother, be careful with this one," Thor chuckled as he clapped me on the back, "she is a very playful one.  I feel like she would have even you left in a circle of confusion."
“You’re no longer needed brother.  Go watch the other girls.”
Thor smirked, “as you wish brother!”
“Wait?” she asked.  Thor smirked even more, “what about my offer?”
“Fret not, lady Jade. I will think of your offer," he chuckled as he hit the door, "show my brother a good time and I most certainly shall consider it."
And with that he was out the door.
My eyes turned back to Jade, "what was he talking about?"
"None of your business."
"Have you already forgotten that I can simply look past your lies and into your mind?" I asked.
"Then why haven't you? Are you afraid of what you'll find?" I felt my anger burning but I pushed it back. She smiled, seeing the small amount of magic coming off my fingertips, "oh, does Prince Loki lose the ability to control himself when he gets flustered?"
I growled, rushing at her. Thor cuffing her to the bed had caused her to lose her ability to move away from me. Grabbing her face, I forced her eyes to look into my own.
"Do you know what I could do to you?" I seethed, "With a simple thought I could turn your brain into mush. I could gut you like a fish and not even give your mutilated corpse a second thought, Jade. I could turn your worst fears into the harshest realities. Do. Not. Piss. Me. Off."
"Do it."
I continued to stare her down. Neither one of us refused to give up and she leaned her face against my hand more urgently.
"Do it."
I wanted to yell at her. Wanted to scream at her. Make her plead with me not to hurt her. But she just glared at me. As though she genuinely hated me. There was no fear. There was no terror. Just pure anger.
"If you won't tell me then I'll find out," I whispered. She seemed to understand that I would go into her head and suddenly it melted away, "just remember, my pet. You asked for this."
Tumblr media
Jade’s POV
The lights crackled as he threw me down on the bed and tore my pants off. Before I could react, he had somehow managed to bind me to the headboard. Looking up I saw fuzzy black cuffs around my wrist.
"This how you normally show a girl a good time?"
Thor chuckled. His hands reached over me to tighten the cuffs and as he finished on the one further from him, I closed my eyes, inhaling the scent of him. He smelled like a spring afternoon after a fresh rain and a campfire. I smiled thinking of nights when I was a kid at summer camp, and suddenly felt his lips softly brush mine, "you are funny. Young maiden. Are you not afraid after seeing how I returned your friend?"
I opened my eyes and saw that his dark blue eyes were almost stormy. He was trying to intimidate me.
"No."
He backed up a small amount and looked me in the eyes.  His brow furrowed, "no?"
"I have a proposition for you though," I admitted quietly. He looked at me in confusion as he backed up another step, "my friend...the one that isn't with us. Is she really, okay? Or is that just what you want us to believe."
"Lady Mira," Thor nodded, "I have seen her. She has a jaw that has been broken. Dr. Banner had to come with us yesterday and re-set it. It had healed improperly. He left after it was set. She will be fine in a month or two."
"I need to know that she is alive though," I said quickly, looking from him to the door, "it's my fault that she agreed to come up here with them. Mackenzie will say it's hers, but I told her that coming up here would get her away from the city so she could forget Jack and the fact that Cassie is sleeping with him now."
"What is your proposition, Lady Jade?"
"Take me to her," I pleaded, "take me to see Mira. To make sure she is really alright."
"And what would I be getting?"
"I'll do whatever you want," I said even quicker, "you probably know of a way to get to her. You're one of the main six avengers. I don't think any of them aside from Captain America outranks you...I-I need to know my best friend is alright."
"That is an interesting proposition," he smiled, "you'll do anything that I ask?"
"Anything."
"And what is to stop me from taking it right now?"
"I know a lot of things about you Thor. Just like I know a lot about all of the Avengers. You are vain, much like your brother. The ability to have ownership over someone is very enticing. But for them to give you ownership over them-"
"I see where you are going, Lady Jade," he nodded with a smirk, "and this arrangement would end, when?"
"Whenever you saw fit."
"And what if I didn't?"
Then the door ripped open, and I saw him. I smiled, looking at Thor. Right on time.
Tumblr media
Loki’s POV
Letting go of her, she gasped. I backed away and gave a heavy sigh.
"You did this on purpose?" I asked, "you-you knew that I would come in after you..."
"Sounds like you're accusing me of something," she said sweetly, "and you know. Sam said you don't want to go around accusing people of things or go and speculate. It puts them in a real bad light."
"What?" I asked, "but ho-"
"I know you Loki," she replied, looking at me from the position of power. She scooted up so that her arms could rest a little easier and she leaned against the headboard, "you like what you can't have. More than that, you like believing you're the smartest guy in the room. But sometimes...you aren't. That's when you learn about oversight."
My nostrils began to flare in anger as she bested me, "you don't know what you are messing with. Who's to say that now I know your plan with Thor I won't let him do it?"
"Still can't shake those villainous attributes," she smiled, "it's cute. You know. Gonna go foil big brother's plans because yours aren't as good.   Is that how you make your failures appear as less than they are?  If someone fails just as much as you, then suddenly your failures aren't as big?"
"I don't want to talk to you," I lied, shifting away from her.  She nudged me with her leg and a giggle rose from her throat, "stop that."
How had she managed to hit the nail on the head like that?  How did she know so much about me already?
"Loki," she purred. I closed my eyes and pretended not to hear her. She continued to say my name in the sweetest of tones. It was like she somehow managed to coat her voice in a sultry sweetness, and I wanted nothing more than to give in, "come on. Don't be mad at me. I can see it in your body language you don't want to be. Talk to me."
My jaw ticked.
"You wanna know what your tell is?" she asked, "how I know you aren't mad at me?"
"You don't know anything about me!"
"Your nostrils flare," she replied, ignoring my prior comment, "and when they do, you get this slight glisten along the ridge of your nose, almost as if it's turning a silver blue. You're a frost giant.  I know that.  And while you manage to keep it under control, I can see that you are flustered...and when you're flustered you can't put the background energy into keeping your façade.  Like with how your ears tipped blue in the other room."
I huffed and turned towards her, "you don't know anything about frost giants. And you certainly don't know anything about me. Now let me just get through enough time in silence with you so that it makes it seem like I punished you."
"But Loki?" she purred, "wouldn't you rather spend your time convincing me to make a deal with you instead?
I looked at her dead in the eyes. She could see through me like I was a piece of glass. She could see the jealousy over her attempt at a deal with Thor. She could see that she'd already managed to get under my skin. She could see that I wanted control. And she was literally giving it to me on a silver platter.
"I'm listening."
"You can see inside people's minds," she said simply, "Mira's jaw was reset which means she won't be able to talk to anyone, and probably hasn't since it was originally broken. I want time with her. I want to be able to communicate with her so that she doesn't have to talk."
"I couldn't just give you the ability to reach inside her mind," I replied, shaking my head, "I don't know what you are, but you already know how to push buttons. I'm not giving you any help to further that."
"Then let her communicate to others without speaking," she pleaded, "I know that it's probably killing her being unable to talk to someone...even if she does hate you monsters."
"First of all," I said quickly, "we aren't monsters. Once you learn that...well it's a lesson learned in time. But secondly, if I were to do something like that, it would only last until she was able to speak. Once she spoke the connection would be severed...and thirdly, the amount of power that would take would make my life extremely mundane. I wouldn't be able to do certain things because I'm concentrating energy on helping her."
"I'll let you have me," she replied without any issue, "I see the way you look at me. You say I know how to press buttons...well imagine what happens when I press the right ones."
"You'll agree to be mine?"
"Until you change your mind otherwise," she nodded, "Completely and only yours."
"Why are you offering this? You know, I know you are aware of the long-term implications of this. I could ask for you to marry me. To give me children and yet you are somehow complacent with that and okay with it?" I asked, "you mentioned that it's your fault that she's up here but very few friends would do this for someone else...you are offering up your life for what?"
"She's my best friend," she said simply, "and if you knew half the shit she went through in life and you were in my position, you'd probably do the same."
Tumblr media
Jade’s POV
"I accept."
"What?"
Loki had been sitting beside me as I was bound to the bed for god knows how long, refusing to look at me. But now, as he stared into my eyes, I could see that he was being truthful.
"I accept your offer, Jade," he began, "but you have to understand what this means."
"I know."
"No," he said, shaking his head, "you don't. If you go through with this, I'm claiming you as mine. There is no going back. There is no getting out of it. I will perform some very serious magic and you will be unable to tell those around you of your predicament. If anyone asks your mind will force you to say that you care for me and that you chose this until I believe it enough to release it. And then I will keep you until I tire of you."
"Okay."
He watched me for any signs of fear, but really all I felt was relief. I'd chosen to go on something that we could bond off of. The mutuality of wanting our chosen families to love us, and though the gears ground in his head, I could see that he wanted it and in less of a contractual way.
"You will be only mine," he repeated, "I will tell the rest of the guys that I am claiming you and they won't even look in your general direction for comfort."
"I understand."
He took a deep breath, and I could see the blue line on the ridge of his nose appearing, "you don't know what you are agreeing to."
"Why are you trying to talk me out of it, Loki?"
"I'm trying to make sure that you are informed is all," he said simply. He snapped his fingers, and the cuffs were off my wrists. Taking them in my hands, I rubbed at the sore, slightly agitated skin, "I don't want you trying to change your mind once I eventually take you back to the city."
"You don't think you'll grow tired of me by then?" I asked. He smiled and the ridge from his nose disappeared.
"No," he replied, looking down and licking his lips, "I do not believe that I will be tired of you by any means by that time."
"So, we have a deal," I confirmed. He nodded and moved beside me on the bed, "I'll be yours, and you help Mira."
"Yes, my pet," he nodded. He leaned forwards and I waited until our lips were almost touching before placing my finger against his lips, "I thought you agreed?"
"I need to know that you can fulfill your promise," I began, "take me to her...let me see her."
"Very well," he nodded. He snapped and on the television a video appeared. The camera showed Mira on a cot. Captain America had her in his lap and he was soothing her. His hand went up and down her side and thigh as she slept, "is this what you were expecting to see?"
"You're safe, my sweet little bunny," he whispered to her, "I'm here. No one is going to hurt you...I promise."
In the corner I could see Bucky glaring at them both from his spot at a desk, where multiple monitors were situated, all with views of the different rooms.
"But how do I know that it worked?" I asked, "she's sleeping."
"Fine," he sighed. He snapped again and she tiredly woke up. Steve tried to coax her back into his arms, but she went over to desk where the cameras were, "bottom left."
"What?"
"I'm telling her which screen to look at," he said dismissively. I saw Mira point to the screen that had Loki and myself on it. Loki winked at me, and our screen got larger. Then he turned to me, his hand rested on my bare thigh, "say what you want to her."
"Mira," I said out loud. I looked at the screen, and it changed to a view of her and Bucky at the desk. Her eyes went wide, "Mira, can you hear me."
'Jade?' she asked, "Jade is that really you?'
I nodded, feeling the tears coming to my eyes. It was like I could hear her inside my head. Tears immediately pricked at her eyes as I responded.
"I-I can hear you," I said quickly, feeling the tears spill over, "Loki-he he gave you some of his magic so you can communicate...you can talk to any one of us now."
She looked back at Steve and his eyes went wide. He ran up to her, "Bunny, I can hear you."
And then my television screen went black. I looked back at Loki. He began to wipe the tears from my cheeks, "see my pet. You need not worry. Your little friend is quite alright...and as promised, I'm fulfilling my side of the bargain."
"Let me see her again," I pleaded, "I-I didn't get to talk to her.. I didn't get to-"
"In time," he said shortly, cutting me off as he began leaning towards me again, "now I believe it is your turn to show a gesture...an act of faith and good will."
Sighing, I closed my eyes and bowed my head. I didn't want to do what he was asking. He didn't give me enough time with Mira. I didn't get to tell her how sorry I was.
I felt him lifting my chin. Opening my eyes, I gasped as his lips met my own. It sent shivers down my spine as his cool breath mixed with mine. Deepening the kiss, I felt him lick against my bottom lip as if he were to ask for my permission.
I pulled away harshly.
"Pet," he whispered, "I thought I asked for an act of kindness."
"That's all the kindness you'll get." I hissed, sliding my body away from his. He tried to reach out to me, but I slid off the bed.
"Oh pet," he tisked, "are you upset that I cut your visit short with your friend? Come here. Come back and give me a reason to let you see her longer. Show me that you want to see her again."
"Loki," I warned, "I don't want to play this game."
"Oh, but why not?" he asked with a smirk as he sprawled himself out across the bed, "it's quite fun when you are the one getting flustered."

Here, we go again,
Tumblr media
POV: What would have Loki written if he was a poet?
A/N : So basically, I was surfing through videos on YouTube, anything featuring 'Loki' to be precise when I stumbled upon a video, a playlist actually which had the 'Safe and Sound' track along with Loki's life playing like a movie reel and just like any normal person with emotions and a heart that beats for Loki, I teared up. I cried. I sobbed so hard rocking back and forth. And then my writer senses started tingling me. YOU HAVE TO PEN THIS DOWN. Heheh.So I did.
This is a poem inspired by Loki. Or you can this happens when Loki is inspired to write a poem?
This may be good from one's point of view or bad from others or maybe even worse from some else's? But guys, I teared up. Loki, I will protect you baby, be my baby. Pleash!
~Love and Loved~
I lied and lied A thousand times For years and years I thought it was mine Born to love and be loved I thought that's how it's like But now, I am lonely and misunderstood Thrown off and shoved aside.
Was I wanted? If I was Why'd you let me go? Let me slip me into the darkness You told me, you'd hold On to me, till the end of time For years and years I thought it was mine Born to love and be loved I thought that's how it's like.
I did everything I could To prove a point Fought and lied, killed and died I did what I thought was right But now, I am lonely and misunderstood Thrown off and shoved aside.
This pain kills me slow I won't let it show My dried tears I'd conceal with A smirk, I will deal My mischief, tricks and illusion Will carve me a way, into the stone The season changes and so will my heart Before it breaks apart, this time, I'd know that it's facade For years and years, I was wrong when I said Born to love and be loved.

Fox - Chapter 81
Series Masterlist
Main Masterlist
Honestly, I think I’ve posted this chapter before, but I couldn’t find it on my masterlist lol, so I’m going to post Chapter 81, and then 82 in a few minutes!
Tumblr media
Previously on Fox:
Fury exhales. "Agent Romanoff, would you kindly escort Dr. Banner back to . . ."
"Where?" Banner questions. "You rented my room."
"The cell was just in case . . ." Fury begins.
"In case you needed to kill me," Banner finishes. "You can't. I tried. I got low. I didn't see an end. I put a bullet in my mouth and the other guy spit it out. So I moved on. I focused on helping other people. I was good. Until you dragged me back into this freak show and put everyone here at risk." The inhabitants of the room tense, and (Y/n)'s hands catch fire.
"Dr. Banner," Rogers says, and Banner turns to the soldier, "put down the scepter."
A computer beeps, and everyone seems to snap out of the argument. (Y/n) shakes the fire from her hands.
"Got it," Stark says.
"Sorry, kids," Banner says. "Won't get to see my party trick after all."
"You located the Tesseract?" Thor questions.
"I could get there the fastest," Stark says.
"The Tesseract belongs on Asgard," Thor says. "No human is a match for it."
(Y/n) raises an eyebrow.
"You're not going alone," Rogers says, grabbing Stark's arm.
"You gonna stop me?" Stark asks.
"Both of you, I swear," (Y/n) mutters.
(Y/n) ignores the bickering and moves over to look at the monitor over Banner's shoulder.
"Oh, my god," (Y/n) says, peering closer at the monitor.
3rd Person POV
One of the engines blows up, sending (Y/n), Natasha, and Banner crashing through the floor away from the others.
(Y/n)'s arms wrap around Natasha, her back hitting the ground and dazing her for a moment.
The agents in the main control area are panicking, rushing around and trying to find the source of the explosion.
"All hands to stations," one of the agents says on a PA system.
(Y/n) pulls Natasha to her feet, backing up slightly as the Hulk explodes from behind a different wall.
"Run!" (Y/n) pushes Natasha behind her, facing the Hulk herself. Natasha glances at her wife. "Run!" (Y/n) says again. The Hulk roars and (Y/n) shifts her weight slightly. " I might be an idiot," (Y/n) mutters, allowing her hands to light on fire.
"You usually are," Natasha mutters, running down the hall.
(Y/n)'s fire doesn't seem to do anything to Hulk because as she shoots a blast, he simply grabs (Y/n) by the waist with one hand and throws her down the hallway. (Y/n) rolls with the momentum, finally skidding to a halt on her two feet.
Every other step makes a clanking sound against the metal as (Y/n) runs towards the Hulk again, allowing Natasha to get as far away as possible, but before she can reach the Hulk, another figure crashes into Hulk.
"That made my job easier," (Y/n) says, leaving the Hulk to Thor.
"(Y/n)," Fury says into the COMMs. "I need you with Coulson in the detention module."
"Copy," (Y/n) replies, allowing herself to summon a jet of wind to propel her through the hole the explosion had made.
(Y/n) sprints through the Helicarrier. It's not as though she would make a mistake. She built the Helicarrier. She knew it like the back of Natasha's hand.
A bomb rolls in front of her as she makes her way through the main command center.
(Y/n) tackles Maria out of the way as the bomb explodes.
"Thanks," Maria breathes as (Y/n) helps her to her feet.
"Gotta keep Auntie Maria safe," (Y/n) replies.
"Are you almost here?" Coulson's voice comes through the COMMs.
"Heading down the stairs," (Y/n) replies, leaving Maria's side.
. . .
Thor dives at his brother as the detention cell opens, but Thor passes straight through Loki.
"Are you ever not going to fall for that?" Loki asks his brother.
Thor angrily hits the glass with his hammer and the glass cracks, making the whole cell shift in it's hold.
"The humans think us immortal," Loki says, moving to the control panel. "Should we test that?" he questions.
A guard grunts as (Y/n) knocks him the ground.
"Move away, please," Coulson says, standing in front of his daughter, though (Y/n) was standing a little to the right. Coulson lifts his gun at Loki.
Loki takes a step back from the panel.
"You like this," Coulson says, lifting his massive gun a little more. "We started working on the prototype after you sent the Destroyer. Even I don't know what it does." The gun makes a whirring sound as it powers up. "Do you want to find out?"
(Y/n)'s fingers crackle with electricity and it pops along her shoulder.
(Y/n)'s body is shoved forward as the Loki in front of her and her father disappears.
The spear goes through (Y/n)'s stomach and straight through Coulson's heart.
"No!" Thor cries as the spear is removed.
Coulson slumps against one of the walls, blood leaking out of his mouth while (Y/n)'s body just falls to the floor.
(Y/n) groans a little as her healing abilities begin to heal her insides.
Loki makes his way back to the control panel and (Y/n) stares up into her father's face. She knew she would be okay soon, but if she didn't heal herself fast enough, her father would die.
A tear slides its way down (Y/n)'s cheek as she tries to push herself up. Coulson just shakes his head, meeting his daughter's desperate gaze.
Loki presses a button that opens the air trap; he presses another button, and Thor's detention cell drops, taking the Asguardian with it.
. . .
Natasha grunts in pain as a mind controlled Clint punches her in the face.
In response, she grabs the archer's arm, forcing it back behind him. Natasha shoves Clint's head against a metal bar and he slumps to the floor.
Swaying unsteadily, he rises to his knees. "Natasha?" he questions, his eyes still a mind-controlled blue.
Lunging forward, Natasha punches Clint in the face and he falls to the catwalk, unconscious.
. . .
"You're going to lose," Coulson says as Loki begins to walk away.
The Asguardian turns to face the dying man. "Am I?" he asks.
"It's in your nature," Coulson replies, and (Y/n) struggles to lift herself again, but she falls face-first onto the catwalk.
"Hmm," Loki replies, ignoring (Y/n). "Your heroes are scattered. Your floating fortress falls from the sky. Where is my disadvantage?" he questions.
"You lack conviction," Coulson replies.
"I don't think I -" Loki begins but Coulson pulls the trigger on his gun, shooting a bolt of extremely hot fire at the Asguardian, who flies across the room and through a wall.
"So, that's what it does," Coulson says, his eyes glazing over.
(Y/n) lets out a pained cry as she pushes herself to her knees, and then her feet. Clutching her still healing stomach, and sliding down the wall beside her father.
"Dad!" (Y/n) cries, leaning forward to place her hands over his bleeding wound. (Y/n)'s head swims as her healing properties transfer to Coulson.
Coulson presses a hand to (Y/n)'s chest, pushing her away gently.
There wasn't a lot of force needed, as (Y/n) was so unsteady; falls back, far enough away that she wouldn't be able to reach him again.
(Y/n)'s healing properties take over again and the pain returns. Yes she healed, but that doesn't mean she didn't feel all the pain.
(Y/n)'s head hits the floor and she passses out from pain.
Fury crouches down in front of the young mother, checking for a pulse. He relaxes a little when he sees the layers of skin knitting back together.
Fury turns to Coulson, leaning over his old friend.
"Sorry, sir," Coulson says. "The god rabbited."
Fury's expression is full of pain and sorrow as he lifts the massive gun off of Coulson's lap.
"Just stay awake," Fury tells his agent and friend. "Eyes on me."
"No," Coulson replies, "I'm clocking out here."
"Not an option," Fury replies, meeting Coulson's eyes.
"It's okay, boss," Coulson tells his old friend. "This was never gonna work if they didn't have something to . . ."
Fury's jaw tightens as Coulson's body falls still.
He takes a step back, picking up (Y/n)'s limp body while medical agents swarm around Coulson.
"Coulson is down," Fury says into his COMMs, and Maria's face washes over with pain and she pushes away the doctor tending to her wounds.
"A medical team is on its way to your location," an agents replies.
"They're here," Fury replies. "They called it."
. . .
(Y/n) is numb, her head in her hands as she stares into the clouds outside.
Tony Stark and Steve Rogers are sitting at the table as well.
Fury is standing at the top of the table, holding something in his hands. "These were in Phil Coulson's jacket," Fury tells the three.
Maria walks over, placing a supportive hand on (Y/n)'s shoulder and squeezing gently.
"I guess he never did get you to sign them," Fury goes on, throwing Coulson's Captain America trading cards onto the table.
(Y/n) looks up, pulling the cards towards her. Her expression saddens even more at the blood stains on the cards.
"We're dead in the air up here," Fury goes on as (Y/n) flicks through the cards. "Our communications, the location of the Cube, Banner, Thor . . . I've got nothing for you. I lost my one good eye," he continues as Stark's gaze falls on his saddened daughter. "Maybe I had that coming. Yes," Fury rounds the table, "we were going to build an arsenal with the Tesseract. I never put all my chips on that number, though, because I was playing something even riskier. There was an idea, Stark and (Y/n) know this, called the Avengers Initiative. The idea was to bring together a group of remarkable people, to see if they could become something more. To see if they could work together when we needed them to, to fight the battles that we never could. Phil Coulson died still believing in that idea." Stark wrings his hands together. "In heroes."
Now, (Y/n) knew exactly what Fury was doing, using her father's death to push the others forward, and at first, she's angry, but then she realizes it's exactly what Phil Coulson - her father - would've wanted - to see Loki's ass handed to him. And she knew, she'd heard snippets of her father's last words.
Then, Stark gets to his feet, walking away, leaving the two captains alone with Maria and Hill.
"Well," Fury says, "it's an old-fashioned notion."
. . .
Clint Barton is still dazed. He shakes his head, trying to clear it but everything is still ringing until a minute or two passes.
"Clint," Natasha says, having come to stay with the archer at (Y/n)'s insistence - though it hadn't taken much convincing, though she was still worried about (Y/n). "You're gonna be alright."
"You know that?" Clint asks, chuckling bitterly. "Is that what you know? I got no window. I have to flush him out."
Natasha rises to her feet, moving over to pour the archer a glass of water. "You gotta level out. It's gonna take time."
"You don't understand," Clint continues, his arms shackled to the bed. "Have you ever had someone take your brain and play?" he questions. "Pull you out and stuff something else in?"
Natasha raises and eyebrow, sitting down beside her friend.
"Do you know what it's like to be unmade?" he goes on.
"You know that I do," Natasha replies, helping her friend take a sip of the water.
"How am I back?" Clint asks, looking over into Natasha's green gaze. "How'd you get him out?"
"Smacked you real hard on the head," Natasha replies, her eyes gleaming with amusement for a moment.
"Thanks," the archer replies. "Natasha," he begins as Natasha unstraps his wrists from the bed, "How many agents did I . . ."
"Don't," Natasha interrupts. "Don't do that to yourself, Clint. This is Loki. This is monsters and magic, and nothing we were ever trained for."
"Loki, did he get away?" Clint asks and Natasha nods in reply.
"I don't suppose you know where," Natasha says.
Clint shakes his head, "I didn't need to know. I didn't ask."
Natasha rises from the bed to look out the window of the room.
"He's gonna make his play soon, though," Clint goes on. "Today."
"We gotta stop him," Natasha turns to face the archer again.
"Yeah? Who's 'we'?" Clint asks, taking a sip of his water.
"I don't know," Natasha admits. "Whoever's left."
Clint nods, "Well, if I put an arrow through Loki's eye socket, I'd sleep better, I suppose."
A smile creeps it's way onto Natasha's face at the comment. She sits back down beside Clint. "Now you sound like you."
"But you don't," Clint replies. "You're a spy, not a soldier. Now you want to wade into a war. Why?"
"He killed Phil," Natasha replies. "And (Y/n)'s planning on going after Loki. I go where she goes."
"That's a pretty good answer," Clint replies.
. . .
"It's time to go," Steve Rogers steps into Clint's med room.
"Go where?" Natasha asks the super-soldier.
"I'll tell you on the way. Can you fly one of those jets?"
"I can," Clint replies, looking up from the pitcher of water.
"Then suit up," Steve replies.

Touch Starved Series: ✨Loki✨
Tumblr media
Loki x F!Reader
Warnings: none, unless you count alcohol use?
Theme: A bit of angst, touch starved Loki, Loki being SadBoi, Y/N helping, (emotional!)hurt/comfort
*Your POV*
Since arriving at the Avengers Tower, You could compare Loki’s transition into the team like a rescue cat getting used to their surroundings. At first, he never left his room, only venturing out late at night for food and a walk when he was sure everyone was asleep. Then, he began to venture out during the day, never staying long enough to start a conversation with anyone; and at one point actually hissing at Tony when he attempted to talk.
He was now within the third stage of acclamation in which Loki had begun to sit in the corner of the room and watch the team. Although a little unnerving, You were relieved to see the god of mischief outside of his rooms.
You watched as Loki stared out the window, his expression blank as he refused to acknowledge anyone in the sitting area as they began to file in.
‘Will you be joining us Brother?’ Thor’s deep voice boomed as he entered the room. Loki glared.
‘Join you in what, oh mighty Thor?’ Loki replied, his voice like black satin. Thor smiled, wandering through the open plan kitchen as he spoke.
‘It’s games night Loki! A grand evening in which we play Midguarian games and drink far to much’ Thor said excitedly, retrieving a beer from the cooler as in emphasise. Loki snorted.
‘As much fun as that sounds brother, I think I’ll politely decline’ Loki said, bowing his head in mock sincerity. You shrugged.
‘Looks like we’re playing uneven teams’ You chime in, taking a sip of your drink as you look at the raven haired god. Loki almost growled.
‘Fine, I will play once to fix the odd number, then you’ll have to figure it out for yourself.’ Loki grumbled, rising to his full hight before stalking over to stand beside you. You try your best to hide your smirk as you, Loki and Thor make your way over to the rest of the team.
‘Loki, joining us I see! Very good. Y/N is a sore loser sometimes, so having a teammate may help her odds’ Clint says with an evil grin. You glare at him as you drain the last of your drink.
‘Fighting talk for the guy who ended up streaking as forfeit last time’ You reply, your grin widening as Clints face contorts with embarrassment.
‘As much fun as all of this conversation is, could we please get on with this game of yours? It’s just a have a book calling my name and I’d hate to be late’ Loki drawls, his expression dripping with sarcasm.
‘I agree with Mischief, let’s play beer pong!’ Tony quips, ignoring the glare he received from Loki at his nickname for him.
‘Beer pong?’ Loki says, his brow thick with confusion. You smile.
‘Yeah, so the rules are you have to bounce the ball into a cup on the other side of the table. If you get it in, the person you’re playing against has to drink what’s inside the cup and the same for if someone gets the ball in on your side. But don’t worry, I’ll take your drinks if you don’t want them’ You reply smiling at the god as he processed the rules. After a moment, he nods.
‘Alright, let’s get this over with them’ Loki said with a slight grimace
*Loki POV*
This game was annoyingly enjoyable. With each successful land of the small white ball into the red cup- the avengers would erupt into a chorus of cheering or booing (depending on the team) Being split into two groups, then paired off with Y/N for later in the game; Loki tried to feel angry at being tricked into playing longer to keep the pairs even, however his silent enjoyment of the game had overpowered every other feeling.
True to her word, Y/N had drank the contents of every cup designated for him, but thanks to the other players seemingly awful aim, the extra alcohol was minimal, her cheeks just beginning to show the hues of pink as she watched the other team play.
During the final rounds (which consisted of whichever pairs were left standing) Loki took to drinking his forfeits, attempting to join in on the collective merriment.
Loki had the final throw, his aim to get the ball into Tony’s final cup unwavering. Taking a steady breath, Loki took his shot, grinning with glee as he heard the ball land into the drink. The cheers that came from the half asleep team only partially drowned out Tony’s slurred accusation of using magic to cheat- however every sound went dead in Loki’s ears as he felt Y/N wrap her arms around his neck and pulling him into a tipsy hug. Loki froze, his hand up at his sides in sudden surrender from the shock of the contact. His mind barely aware of Y/N’s shouts of ‘we won!’ as she held him close.
Loki’s fight or flight was broken, instead of pushing the girl away, his arms betrayed him as he slowly circled them around Y/N’s waist, holding her there, the second lot of contact feeling just as divine as her arms around his neck felt. Before he even had time to process, the experience was over, and the cold air that hit Loki as Y/N moved away to taunt Tony felt like ice.
With a cough Loki made his excuses to leave, turning quickly on his heels and sweeping quietly out of the room. His speed never faltering until he was safely back in his rooms. Was it the alcohol? No, it couldn’t be, he’d barely had any…
Loki stared at nothing, his mind a blank as he continued to process the absent feeling he had in his chest. He didn’t understand. Loki knew he’d always felt like something was missing, multiple something actually, but he’s never felt so sure of what one of those things was until now. Touch. He was missing physical touch.
Loki thought back to his life on Asguard. Racking his brain for instances in which he was hugged, or even touched with intention to comfort. Yes, his mother would reach for him, but rarely did her hand ever actually connect with his face, or his shoulder. And though he had maids, he’d turned to magic to dress himself early on after finding the maids hands felt like burning upon his skin when they accidentally touched.
The small sound of water dropping onto the hardwood floor alerted Loki to the fact he was crying, his body betraying the grief he seemed to feel for himself.
‘Loki?’ A soft voice came from the closed door, causing Loki to rub furiously at his face before turning to the shut door behind him.
‘Yes?’ Loki said, his hand on the door handle never moving as he spoke. He listened as feet shuffled outside his door.
‘It’s Y/N. Did I upset you? You left really fast and Wanda said you looked like you’d seen a ghost…’ Y/N said, her words trailing off. Loki cracked open the door.
‘Y/N…’ Loki said, his voice rough as he peered through the slim gap in the door. Y/N frowned.
‘Loki… are you upset about something?’ Y/N asked, her voice filled with concern. Loki laughed bitterly.
‘I wasn’t, however I seemed to have realised something rather tragic about myself, so now if you’ll excuse me, I have some self loathing to do’ Loki said, trying his best to put as much strength into his voice as possible. Y/N pushed her foot into the door, jamming it open.
‘Loki, let me in please. You’re worrying me’ Y/N said, her face pleading. With a grunt Loki gave in, releasing the door and letting it swing open as he made his way to his bed.
Y/N shut the door quietly behind her. Her nervousness almost audible as she stood awkwardly by the door.
‘What’s wrong Loki? Did Tony offend you? Because honestly he’s all talk on a good day so you definitely shouldn’t listen to him when he’s dru-’
‘No Y/N, it has nothing to do with Stark and his ramblings’ Loki said, interrupting Y/N mid sentence. He paced the length of his bed almost frantically as he waited out this awkward interaction.
‘Then what is it Loki?’ Y/N asked again, her concern so evident in her voice Loki couldn’t take it anymore.
‘You hugged me Y/N! Are you happy now? You hugged me completely without prompt or ulterior motive and it made me realised just how unwanted I am.’ Loki booms, his voice loud but not shouting.
Y/N stared.
‘You hugged me, and it made me feel like one of the holes in my chest had been filled. And when you pulled away…’ Loki took a breath.
“ It felt like I’d drowned in ice water. Your casual affection for winning a ridiculous game made me realise that I’ve never been touched unless I’ve initiated it first. So I’m sorry if the realisation made me want some time to myself Y/N’ Loki finished, sinking onto the end of his bed with a sigh; his head landing in his hands with a heavy sound.
Soft footsteps began after a moment, the gentle padding of small feet becoming louder as Y/N approached the bed. Loki felt the bed sink as Y/N got up and disappeared behind Loki.
‘I’m not sure how my outburst could be seen as an invitation to stay Y/N but-’ Loki began, lifting his head to looked at the young avenger. Before he had chance to turn around, small hands appears in Loki’s periphery as they lightly tugged on the gods shoulders.
‘Lie back Loki’ Y/N said, her voice soft.
‘I’d really rather be left alone Y/N’ Loki replied.
‘Just trust me a minute, please’ Y/N replied, her hands tugging on Loki’s shoulders once again. With a defeated groan, Loki succumbed; falling back until he was staring up a Y/N. Loki tried his best to act natural as he shifted his head, acknowledging more and more that he was in fact laying on Y/N’s legs.
‘What are you trying to achieve Y/N?’ Loki asked, looking up at her face with an unsure expression.
‘Loki. What you’re describing is what we on Midguard call being touch starved. It’s where you’re body craves the touch of another person’ Y/N replied, looking around the bed as she tried to get comfortable.
‘I don’t understand’ Loki replied, frowning.
‘You want human interaction Loki, so I’m going to give it to you. Even the god of mischief needs to feel physical touch sometimes.’ Y/N said, grabbing the book off Loki’s nightstand as quickly as possible as not to disturb Loki’s head.
‘What do we do now?’ Loki asked, his voice awkward.
‘We’ll, I’m going to sit here and read, aloud or in silence is up to you, while you stay where you are and hopefully acclimatise to this level of touch. Because I’m sorry to say Loki, the only cure to touch starvation is to well, be touched’ Y/N said simply, opening the book and beginning to read.
*Your POV*
Loki let you read in silence, his eyes staring up at the back of the book as you read. The god of mischief felt as stiff as he had when you’d asked him to lay back, his head never moving as he seemed to calculate his every breath. In an attempt to calm the god, you rearranged yourself, propping the book you’d taken from his nightstand on a nearby pillow as you used your now spare hand to lightly stroke Loki’s hair. Loki seemed to freeze even further from this touch, but you continued anyway, hoping Loki would begin to get used to the ideas of someone wanting to touch him.
After a while, Loki’s breathing began to even out, his every muscle relaxing as he seemed to give into his subconscious desire. You only realised he was asleep when he rolled over, his long body curling itself closer to yours. Closing the book, you stared down at the sleeping god in your lap, marvelling at the look of peace on his face.
You were unsure of what to do moving forward with the god of mischief; but you knew one thing for certain. He needed someone to be there for him, someone who will seek out his affection rather than shy away. And you were happy to be there for him, one touch at a time.
A/N: Hey! This is my first fic in the touch starved series and I hope you guys enjoyed it! This can be read as ether the beginning of something romantic or platonic- that’s completely up to you!
See you guys in the next fic ❤️

Insecurities - Part Two
Tumblr media
Summary: After a horrible fight with Loki (in part one), you go over everything the two of you have been through. Was the relationship doomed to end this way? Or would the God of Mischief pull out a wondrous trick to save the relationship?
Warnings: Insecurities, mention of an eating disorder, and angst.
A/N: The long awaited part two is out! Thank you all for being patient with me. I hope you all like this. I’m SO picky about my writing and want it to match up so badly to the first. It gets a little ridiculous at times, not gonna lie. But, I hope this is what you all want! I tried to throw in some fun twists too. If you notice any lyrics or tv show references, you’re cool. Even if you don’t, you’re cool. Love you all ♥ Gif above is not mine.
Word Count: 1763
Y/N = Your name. POV = Point of view.
Part One
~~ Previously ~~
In his hand lay a gold chain that held a gold snake with emerald green eyes. Underneath the snake in cursive, small writing was Loki. He hadn’t realized what the necklace was, he was just looking for things to be mean about. Regret and sadness overwhelmed the god as he looked up to see you no longer in front of him or anywhere to be seen. Taking one last look at the necklace, he realized you had always kept a piece of him with you. You came up to him tonight trying to lighten his mood, being sweet, loving, and caring as always and he took that and squashed it. He needed to make this up to you, to show you how much you mean to him. You’re the love of his life, the only love of his life! But how will he make it up?
~~ Loki’s POV ~~
Looking around the party, Loki spotted Natasha and Thor talking. With a quick pace, he made his way over to the two. “Hey guys. Did you see where Y/N went by any chance?” Loki tried to ask casually but it came out more sporadic than he wanted.
Giving Loki a questioning look, Natasha shook her head. “No.. Why? What have you done now, Loki?”
His shoulders dropped as he rolled his eyes. “Why must you always think I’ve done something?”
Thor let out a chuckle, patting Loki on the shoulder. “Because you always have done something, Loki. Remember all the times you’ve stabbed me?”
An exasperated sigh came from the God of Mischief. “Now is really not the time guys! I need to find Y/N! Yes, okay I messed up. I need to fix it.” His words came out quickly but sincerely as he looked at the two with desperation. “Please.”
With a glance to Thor for approval, Natasha reluctantly nodded. “Alright, we’ll help you. Just tell us what you did first.”
Loki told Natasha and Thor everything that happened and what he said to you. It hurt to relieve it again but he was desperate.
“What the fuck, Loki…” Natasha spoke first, Thor still stunned from what he had just heard. “You do know she had an eating disorder right?”
Thor quickly spoke up before Loki could speak. “You know, I always knew you were a bit evil but I never thought of you as cruel, brother.” The God of Thunder said before walking off to find you himself, worried you might do something.
Watching Thor walk off, Natasha looked back at Loki with daggers for eyes. “You fucked up…” As she turned to leave, she sighed. “Try the balcony or roof.” Her words almost came out in a whisper before she walked off, knowing this had to be left between the two of you.
~~ Y/N’s POV ~~
Leaning against the wall, you focused on your breathing. When you glanced up to the side, you caught a glimpse of your reflection in the window. Your makeup was a mess along with your hair that had been once done up so perfect that night. A million thoughts ran through your head still, but one consistently stayed. You did not deserve that.
With a loud swoosh then a thud following, the door was swung open and slammed against the wall. Before you had time to question who it was that had found you, his voice spoke out, soft and gentle, yet full of care and worry.
“Y/N?” The god spoke, his eyes landing on you.
“What did I do to deserve this, Thor?” You couldn’t help but question the older god, your eyes looking out over the view of New York City below you.
“Nothing, Lady Y/N!” He was quick to say, making his way over to you to comfort you. “Nothing at all… My brother’s an ass for what he’s done to you.”
You felt a wave of relief wash over you, hearing Thor tell you that meant a lot. It helped quiet the nasty thoughts in your head. But as quickly as the relief came, the knots in your stomach and overwhelming feelings came back. “I’ve never seen him look at me that way, Thor…” You said quietly, just above a whisper. “It was like he was absolutely disgusted with the sight of me.” Tears came to your eyes again as the images of the looks Loki gave you rushed back into your head.
Thor let out a soft sigh, completely lost on what to say to you. He couldn’t even understand Loki half the time he did his mischievous things but this? This was a whole new low for his brother and a place he never thought he’d see Loki go. Thor knew Loki loved you. Everyone knew it. He looked at you like you hung the stars in the sky and the sun rose just for you.
“It has to be something that happened in Asgard…” Thor said more to himself than you, shaking his head as he followed your gaze to the city below. “Something had to have happened with our Father when I wasn’t there. It’s the only thing I can think of that would twist Loki so harshly into acting this way.”
In a soft voice, you said more to yourself as you watched the city lights and cars, “Should've never said the word "love"..” You felt Thor’s eyes on you as you spoke. Shaking your head, tears filled your eyes as you thought of all the times you had been there for Loki on his bad days, tried to not get in trouble with him although he had a habit of sometimes taking his problems out on you. You tried to be the best you could be for him and suddenly it wasn’t enough? How was that fair? “I'm sick of all the games I have to play.. I'm tired of being careful, gentle, trying to keep the water warm for him.”
“Y/N…” Thor’s voice spoke a bit more firmly than he had at all tonight, his eyes still looking at you but you paid him no mind.
“I have to be so precise in everything I do. I need to make sure he’s in a good mood when I propose we do anything. If he’s in a bad mood, I’m usually on the receiving end of it unless I can get out of his way in time.” You started, the words just falling from your lips as your mind tried to keep up with what you were saying. “It’s like this is all a game and I haven’t been told what the rules are.” You looked at Thor after you finished and you saw a glimmer in his eyes that you had only ever seen when Loki was pretending to be someone else.
Your face fell as you looked into “Thor’s” eyes. “Seriously Loki?” Your voice was quiet but clearly annoyed. “You really couldn’t face me yourself so you had to disguise yourself as one of my best friends?” With a look of disgust, you shook your head and looked away as Loki let the illusional fall and he returned back to himself.
“Y/N… I’m sorry.” His voice was gentle, wavering ever so slightly. “I was wrong for what I said to you.. I was angry because Odin had said I was no good for the throne, I would never amount to anything more than being a cold, heartless monster… And I just let his words get to me… Once again.” The last part was said quietly but you heard him.
You knew Odin was horrible to Loki. He always had been, which infuriated you towards Odin, but that was no excuse for Loki to treat you like he had. If Loki had just told you, you would have understood and been there for him but he went about it all wrong. “You can’t let him make you into something you’re not, Loki…” You said, looking at him, hesitating for a moment before making eye contact. “You were never a monster and you never will be. It doesn’t matter where we come from or what we are. What matters is what we do. If we choose to do right by others and ourselves.”
“How come you always know what to say?” Loki said with a soft grunt, scrunching his face momentarily before looking back at you with those warm, beautiful eyes you’ve come to love.
A soft laugh left your lips as you shrugged. “I guess I just tell people things I wish I had heard when I was going through things.”
A pained smile ghosted his lips as he brushed a strand of your hair behind your ear. “I’m so sorry, Y/N. I promise you I will do better by you. I love everything about you, and you know I’m not a guy who says that lightly. I’ve faked everything my entire life, and I thought love was just something mortals felt, but you have a hold on my heart that I could not break if I wanted to.”
A soft smile broke across your lips as you looked up at Loki, seeing nothing but sincerity and love in his eyes. “I love you too, Loki.”
Wrapping an arm around you, he used his magic to put a blanket around the both of you to keep you warm. “When you’re ready, I want to know everything about you, Y/N. Everything you’re willing to share.”
“Really?” You couldn’t help but feel a little surprised by this and peered up at him through your lashes.
“Really. I want to understand you the way you understand me. I love you more than life itself.”
A smile plastered across your face as you blushed, snuggling into God's chest. A soft “okay” was given from you as you two cuddled under the stars while watching New York City, the city that never sleeps, bustling beneath you both.
That night you did tell Loki everything. You were both up till the early hours of the morning talking, having moved inside onto the couch that was long forgotten by the party. You both fell asleep in each other's arms and no one dared wake either of you when they found you both in the morning.
Thor had to pull Natasha away from hitting Loki over the head with a frying pan while he slept, telling her that if you forgave him, it was for a good reason. But if Loki ever hurt you again, Thor would be the first to unleash Natasha on him.

mr. & mrs. smith
Tumblr media
pairing ~ loki x f!reader
summary ~ after a new member is introduced to the team, loki begins to imagine a life beyond the tower, not unlike many times before, but his daydream receives an interesting addition, you.
warnings ~ avengers(?) loki, (like living in avengers tower loki, cus that mess is my gosh darn favorite), so i suppose 2012 avengers era (what a classic! self-indulgent yes, but still, my freaking favorite), mentions of reader being a science gal but nothing in-depth, reader gets kind of sad, so angst? but like, happy ending so no worries, description of injury on a mission and patching up a not so nice injury, blood, kind of possessive loki, mostly fluff! let me know if i missed anything!
word count ~ 5.2k
a/n ~ i’ve had this sitting in my docs for forever, but, let me give quick rundown. okay so i freaking love this song and had always thought it was so adorable for loki, i also had some zemo thoughts, as well as bucky, so if you like this concept let me know! it’s so gosh darn cute, it’s obviously not required to listen to this song (mr and mrs smith from the tv show ‘smash!’), but do i recommend giving it a listen, HECK YES! this is primarily from loki’s pov because why not, kind of super ooc loki but again, what is fic if not denial persevering. i really love this concept so much, like wow, too cute, i’m thinking of doing some spooky things for spooky season (nothing too spooky though!), but feel free to hope in le ole ask box and let me know what you guys think/would like to see! requests are i guess(?) open! I know i haven’t been writing like, longer things, but i hope too soon! I hope you all enjoy!
.....................................................................................................................
‘I’d gladly disappear if it might guarantee a view of, no one but mr., no one but mrs. smith, and you.’
Loki grumbled as his brother’s thunderous knocking pulled him from his sleep for the third time this morning. He knew there was a meeting, everyone had made sure to remind him all week,
‘Brother, you’re a part of the team! They want you there!’ Thor exclaimed, if Loki hadn’t had his strength, he was almost sure that with the force at which his brother had pulled him into his side, he would have broken a rib.
He attempted to escape Thor’s tirade of misplaced excitement to return to his room, only to be interrupted by another, albeit, a bit less enthusiastic.
‘Better yet, Steve wants you to be there, new recruits.’ Natasha commented, strolling into the kitchen
Like that was going to make him any more excited for this meeting.
He begrudgingly opened the door, “I’m awake.” He all but growled, his brother’s obnoxiously oafish smile faltering at the sight of his anger.
Why is he so enthused about this meeting? Loki thought. Usually, Thor was almost just as irked about the early morning meetings as him, almost. But today he seemed too excited, not just ‘Steve said the meeting will end early today’ excited, but an excitement Loki himself was all too familiar with, a rush he often felt when he had pulled off something particularly mischievous within the golden palace of his younger years. He squinted with suspicion at the realization. Was this all a trick? He scoffed at the thought, the beginning of some sort of ‘passive revenge’ plot for all he had done to them?
“Come, we’re already late,” Thor said softly, pulling Loki from his own spiraling thoughts
“Let’s get this over with” he replied, pushing past his brother, he couldn’t help but notice the smug look he wore, what did Thor know?
....................................................................................................................
Everyone came to a halt once the two entered the room, the already stuffy board room being filled with a tension Loki did not care for. Every seat was filled with the usual suspects, Clint leaving a seat open beside him for his brother, and as Thor apologized his way to his seat, Loki found himself content standing in the back corner, making a show as he crossed his arms across his chest.
“Alright, now that we’re all here…” Steve smiled, looking across to Thor
What was going on? Should he just leave now? Before all the confetti and tar and jokes and endless nicknames and-
“I’d like to introduce one of our new recruits who’s going to be working with Bruce down at the lab”
Suddenly, you rose from your seat, it wasn’t a far journey to the Captain’s side, as you sat in the very first chair, how had he not noticed you?
Steve introduced you, looking around the room, Loki noticed the shy smiles and cocked eyebrows exchanged by the rest of the team.
“That’s me!” You softly interjected, receiving a flurry of good to have you’s and welcome to the team’s in response, though Loki couldn’t bring himself to say anything.
Is this why everyone was so excited? You?
As far as he could see, you were completely human, nothing out of the ordinary. Your smile, much too bright and wide and welcoming, just like every other Midgardian he had come across. Your hands twitched against your soft curves as you did your best to not to seem nervous, and that certain way your eyes glinted with a sort of excitement and hope he could only ever hope to feel one day, filled with a kind of passion for life that he had, until now, only read about in his mother’s fairy-tale storybooks, yes, completely average.
“I’m excited to work with all of you, and…” You sighed, what else could you say to this group of miraculous people without sounding so out of place? “... and thank you!”
He watched your eyebrows furrow, as if you were wincing at some terrible joke. He found himself wondering what your laugh would sound like.
“Well, I don’t know about you guys but I think it’s about time we give her a tour around!” Tony exclaimed, almost jumping out of his seat as he reached for you, rushing you out of the meeting room so quickly Loki barely had a moment to process what had occurred.
As the rest of the team trailed behind, he found himself still planted in his corner
“So, what do you think?”
Loki rolled his eyes, what was he to say? What did Thor want him to think? The rest of the team? Why was everyone watching him so closely today? Did they think he would hurt you? The very thought of that-
“She’s intriguing isn’t she?” Thor smiled, his eyebrows raised, as if he were trying to pull something out of Loki
“What would you like me to say, Thor?” Loki spat, why was everyone acting so especially strange today? “She’s completely... human.”
.................................................................................................................
It took a lot to catch the God of Mischief off guard, let alone frighten him, but it seemed you had done just that.
“I’m so, so sorry” you mumbled, frantically searching his body for any damages
“May I ask what you are checking for, exactly?” Loki replied, too confused by your rapid movements to think of pulling away from your touch, you had just caught him off guard is all, he was still very confused at what had even happened, if he simply had been more prepared then he wouldn’t be allowing you to fuss over him like this. Absolutely not.
“I fell into you pretty hard, I just want to make sure you’re okay…”
Did you really think you could hurt him? Did you not know?
“Oh, God… My first week…” he heard you whisper to yourself, shaking your head frantically
“I can assure you, I am perfectly fine” he laughed, how long had it been since he had done that?
He almost got whiplash from the speed at which you turned your head up to look at him, facing him with a brilliant smile
Had he been the cause of that?
Content with your examination, you casually slid your hand over his arm, just to make sure
How long had it been since he had felt that?
“Well if you ever need a check-up, you know where I’ll be!”
“Thank you…” He barely had any time to reply before you ran off to the lab once again, but as he called your name, he could have sworn he saw your steps falter for a moment, though you didn’t stop. He smirked to himself
‘She’s intriguing isn’t she?’
..................................................................................................................
He hadn’t seen you since, it had been a few days, and he, begrudgingly, felt himself begin to worry for you. How had the rest of your first week gone? How has everyone else been treating you?
He looked around the living area, hoping to see you reading a book on the couch, maybe even making yourself a cup of coffee or hot chocolate in the kitchen, yet he saw no sign of you. Everyone else was always there in the mornings, where were you?
Loki heard a deep chuckle from behind him, he didn’t need to turn around to discover who it was.
“Yes?” Loki questioned, it seemed that every soul in the tower was aware of some long-running joke except for him, and frankly, he was becoming weary of the knowing looks and mocking smiles that had been going around recently.
“You seem to be looking for someone…” Thor replied, a certain much-too-aware tone laced within his simple response.
Loki didn’t even have a moment to reply before his eyes landed on your soft form, bare feet tapping across the kitchen tile, closing your eyes slightly before throwing your arms above your head and stretching.
He couldn’t help but smile at the sight of you. You carried such a peaceful aura as you journeyed throughout the chaos of the kitchen, instead of fighting with Clint or Sam over who got to use the coffee maker next, you just waited, quietly drumming your fingers against your mug of choice as you observed the rest of the team, smiling to yourself as you overheard the jokes of your teammates that didn’t require caffeine to be energetic in the morning.
What were you like in the morning when you were alone, before the lab? Before the Avengers? He could almost guarantee it was much less chaotic. Did you have something like Tony’s fancy coffee maker at your apartment? Or did you stop by a local coffee shop on your way to work? He could imagine you as someone who may have enjoyed a cup of tea more than anything, humming whatever song was currently stuck in your head as you poured the steaming water into two mugs.
He could imagine you on rainy days, standing by your window, smiling quietly at the sound of the rain, not unlike how you were now; calm and content, eyes shining with a silent joy at the thought of staying in all day. Were you frightened of thunderstorms? A sly smirk crept onto his lips at the thought, as silly as it was, he kind of hoped you were.
“Good morning”
He could imagine the softness of your voice in the morning, mixed with the slight scratch of a restful night.
“How’d you sleep?”
Except he wasn’t imagining it.
He looked to his side to find you, when had you snuck up on him? Your eyes wandered across the vast living area, scanning almost, like you were making sure every vase and TV remote was in its place, making sure Sam and Bucky didn’t kill each other, making mental notes to blow out any candles that were left unattended on the kitchen counter, making sure that everyone was safe.
“I slept…” He couldn’t remember the last time someone had asked him how he had slept. “... Well” he quickly responded, he hoped you couldn’t sense his lie, though you had done nothing to exhibit any sort of untrustworthiness, it seemed his heart wouldn’t allow for him to tell you the truth. He ached at the thought of adding on to your presumably already quite large stack of worries, but the selfish part of him wished he had told you, then maybe you would gasp and tell him your secret recipe for some sort of passed-down-from-generation-to-generation tea that had always helped you fall asleep as a child.
His eyes finally met your own, your warm, sleepy smile awakening a feeling within him that he chose not to name for the moment.
His own tongue felt heavy in his mouth as he spoke, “And yourself?” he asked, his brow furrowing at your heavy sigh.
“Just getting used to-” you waved your unoccupied hand around the room, almost slapping him in the process, a breathy chuckle escaping your lips, “All this…”
Loki couldn’t help but notice the hint of sadness that accompanied your reply, he wondered if you even liked it here at all, he agreed that living with the constant clashing of personalities that were your teammates could be overwhelming at times, but you seemed to coexist with them so gracefully.
He hummed in agreement, in truth, he didn’t think he could ever get used to ‘all this’, everyone, no matter how much he attempted to prove himself, still seemed to see him as the monster they first encountered him as, he winced at the thought that you may have initially became acquainted with him then as well.
A large clatter interrupted his thoughts, turning, he saw you shake your head disapprovingly, “Would you like to, maybe, join me in the lab?” you asked
“Thor! Can’t you just, shock it back to life or something?” Clint yelled
Loki shook his head, “absolutely.”
...............................................................................................................
Loki couldn’t recall how long you two had sat in the lab talking with each other, but enough time had passed that he started to become increasingly concerned with the thought of when Bruce would interrupt your time together.
Once he had gotten you to talk about yourself for a bit instead of just asking him questions, (though he had to admit, it pained him slightly to stop you from wanting to know more about him) he reveled in your intelligence, your ability to throw just as quickly as you were able to catch his own facetiousness, you seemed genuinely interested in his stories, and though he had told them all before, at the very least a thousand times, it suddenly seemed as if he were telling them for the very first time.
You laughed, throwing your head back as you carefully set your now empty mug on the metallic bench. “So you can just do that? With-”
“Magic.” Loki smugly replied, opening his hand, he revealed small fireworks appearing from his palm. If he had been an outsider during this moment, he maybe would have thought you had been hypnotized by him with the way you stared at the colorful bursts.
Your lips parted, a silent ‘wow’ slipping past as you continued to be mesmerized by his skill. “Who taught you all this…” you murmured, so quietly, that if he had been any further from you he wouldn’t have been able to hear you, when did he get so close to you?
“My mother, Frigga…” his smile softened as he closed his palm, “Queen of Asgard…” He sighed
“Tell me more about her”
He was struck with a combination of feelings he was unsure what to make of, the only thought he really understood at the moment was that he was suddenly compelled to cradle your face between his hands and thank you.
“... If that’s okay?”
He looked up at you, a shadow of concern shading your features, had you thought you offended him?
“She seemed amazing…”
You reminded him of her, she would have adored you.
................................................................................................................
You two had fallen into a routine of sorts, Loki would wake up and venture into the kitchen, you would appear soon after to make whatever morning beverage that had struck your fancy that particular morning, then, the both of you would escape into the lab, Loki telling stories of his childhood as you cleaned up whatever was leftover from Bruce’s experiments.
What Loki began to live for though, was the moments when he found you deep in concentration, conducting an experiment of your own, your eyes squinting as you scribbled numbers down on your notepad beside you. He knew you were still listening to him though, throwing him an occasional smile or laugh. His proudest moments were when he made you lose your sharp focus, moments when you laughed so hard at his brother’s misfortune, you ended up having to clean up even more of a mess before you closed the lab for the day.
“Thanks” You smiled, frantically wiping up whatever fluids you had managed to spill across the floor
“Your secret’s safe with me” he winked
Loki felt so comfortable with you, he didn’t know how you did it. You never treated him like a prisoner, or ever talked to him as less than, or made him feel like nothing else but an accessory to his brother, around you, he was Loki, nothing more, nothing less.
Yes, nothing more.
He liked the person you seemed to pull from him when you were around, and it seemed that so did everyone else in the tower. Loki couldn’t tell if they were all experiencing the effects of being around you, or if Tony Stark was just genuinely being nicer to him.
“Loki” he heard Bruce grumble from the door
“Just helping your darling assistant!” he called from the floor, darling? He quickly gathered the rest of his paper towels and shot up, practically running from the trash can to the door, when did you become darling?
He had called other people darling, right? It was just a term of endearment. Mortals used it all the time with everyone! You weren’t special, not one bit, and he should absolutely not be this worried about you taking that the wrong way, you were kind and understanding, Loki was quite sure that you wouldn’t think twice about what he had said, just as he was quite sure he’d be thinking about it for the rest of the night.
...................................................................................................................
Loki wasn’t doing it on purpose, avoiding you, you had just become so busy and he would have hated to disturb you, but as he trudged into the board room once again, he couldn’t tell if he was looking forward to seeing you, or if it would just be easier to return to his room with his tail between his legs.
“Loki!”
He paused in his journey to the back corner of the room, scanning you, he noticed you didn’t hold even a hint of anger or disappointment in your gaze, but even more significant, was that you had saved him a seat. Loki tilted his head, questioning, were you really not mad at him? You hadn’t seen him for days, and yet it was like nothing had ever happened.
As he found his place beside you, you leaned into him, “I missed you” you whispered, quickly returning your eyes to Steve as he discussed the details of some upcoming mission he couldn’t bring himself to care about.
Loki was frozen in place, a strange warmth blooming within his chest, he smiled softly, leaning into your chair “I’ve missed you too” he replied, quickly sitting back in his chair, though he pretended to nod and seem interested in whatever words were being exchanged between the others, he found himself sneaking glances at you. Loki ignored the sly snickers from his teammates, he didn’t mind them, the sounds of stifled laughter no longer bothered him, for once, he was content with the knowledge of just one person caring for him, enough to miss him, the opinions of the rest of the Avengers no longer mattered to him. Until he heard your name,
“Welcome, officially, to the team”
What was that supposed to mean? She’s been doing her part ever since she-
“Nothing too dangerous, just an in-and-out deal” Tony added
No. They weren’t sending you on a mission, they couldn’t be. You belonged in the lab, here, with him. You worked so well with Bruce, you were doing such good work here at the tower? What had compelled them to send you out there?
Loki turned to look at you, a weary smile gracing your face, you were scared.
“Thanks, guys…” you softly replied,
“And where will I be?” All but tumbled from Loki’s lips before he could stop himself, he prayed to anyone who would listen that they would be including him on this one mission, maybe he could even convince them to send himself in your place.
“We’ll need someone to hold down the fort with Thor” Natasha replied, “It’s nothing any of us haven’t done before, she’ll be fine” she added
Was she trying to comfort him?
Before he could even think of what he was doing, his hand fell upon your thigh, his concerned eyes meeting yours.
“I’ll be fine” you smiled, “And I’ll be right back in the lab before you know it!”
He watched you reluctantly pull from your seat, head down as you followed the rest of the team back to their rooms to get packed, finding himself reeling once again as he sat in the room alone.
It wasn’t that he thought you would be torn to pieces on the field, he was more than sure you’d be able to hold your own alongside the rest of them, it was just that, he didn’t want you to. You belonged by the fogged windows of the tower when it began to storm, no, not the tower, maybe a cottage in the middle of nowhere, a kettle whistling in the kitchen. A kind smile lighting the dim room. A notepad readily available on the counter in preparation for any last-minute thoughts on any experiments,
“Good morning”
“Good morning my love.”
“How’d you sleep?”
He couldn’t remember the last time something had seemed so clear to him, you made it so easy to imagine a life beyond all this. You deserved a simpler life, a rush of anger flooded through him as he thought about how his teammates had robbed you of whatever life you had before intergalactic threats and monsters.
You deserved to be happy.
.......................................................................................................................
It had been a week, one full week without you, and Loki had begun to feel more like the prisoner he first entered the tower as.
He couldn’t bring himself to even read, too caught up in thoughts of if you were doing okay, if you were safe, if you were taking care of yourself just as much as you took care of the others.
On days when you managed to shoot him a quick text, he found his stride felt a little lighter,
‘Still all in one piece! See you soon! :)’
‘Hope ur doing good, don’t let thor drive you too crazy before I get back!’
But those moments were too few and far between for his liking. He found his mind drifting during even the simplest of tasks, and unfortunately, Thor seemed to notice.
“I’m sure you have nothing to worry about! She’s more than proved herself to be just as fierce as the others!” His hand coming down to pat Loki on the back
Was it really that obvious?
“And what makes you think I’m truly that concerned?” He questioned, secretly hoping Thor would just tell him if his own face was really that telling in his affections for you.
Affections for you. Was that was this was?
Loki began to realize it may have been more than that.
Thor shot him a knowing glare, perhaps that was all that needed to be exchanged.
A dull murmur emerging from the hallway had both men turning their heads,
“You’ve returned!” Thor bellowed, his voice bouncing off the walls of the empty living quarters, “All in one piece, I hope?” he questioned as both brothers met with the rest of the team.
Quiet thanks were exchanged, all of them too tired to do any more than pat each other on the back and return to their quarters. He searched the group for you, his heart beating a bit faster as he noticed your absence.
“Where is she.”
The team stilled, no one daring to say a word,
“Where is she?...” He repeated, softer this time, he could have sworn he felt his eyes begin to water, but he tried not to dwell on it.
“The lab” Steve finally broke the deafening silence, “She got-”
Before anyone could tell him anything else, he was already rushing downstairs, she was safe, she was back, nothing had happened.
“Hey Loki”
He sighed, standing by the doorway, he took in the sight of you, eyes glistening in the dim light of the lamp on your desk, your hair slightly out of place, the shadow of dark circles a result of anxious, sleepless nights on the road. Your hands worked majestically over the gauze, wrapping it delicately around your upper thigh-
You had been hurt
A quiet gasp left his lips before he rushed over to you, his hands anxiously roaming your form as he did his best to suppress his panic. His heart ached when he finally glimpsed the crimson liquid that bloomed from under the dressing.
“Loki… I’m fine” feigning a weak smile, “I promise”
“You don’t look it.” He replied, shaking hands doing what they could as he took over in wrapping your leg. He shook his head, you shouldn’t have been there.
“Well, it was nice to feel like I was really a part of the team…”
Had he said that out loud? He looked back up at you, you were crying.
Before he knew it, his hands had moved to your cheeks, thumbs delicately whipping away tears as they spilled. You deserved to be happy, you deserved so much.
“You are” Loki replied softly, “Since the moment you were first introduced... I don’t know what they were thinking…” he trailed off, you were now sobbing, heaving breaths shaking your frame while he still cradled your face.
“I don’t know what I was thinking” you managed to sputter between cries, “I should have said no, I don’t belong out there”
And then you held him, your arms weaved their way around his waist, pulling him to you, tears already beginning to form a wet patch on his shirt.
Loki stood there, astounded for a moment, the pain in his chest from witnessing your distress dissipated. You were hurt, both physically and emotionally, and in your time of need, you reached for him. It seemed you were just as comfortable around him as he was around you, a small smile stretching onto his lips. He slowly wrapped his arms around your form, feeling you melt against him.
“You-” he found himself lost for words, how could he explain to you just how wonderful you were? Did you really not understand how much an impact you had on everyone? The impact you had on him? “You do belong here, there was never a glimmer of doubt in my mind that you didn’t”
Sniffling, you looked up at him, noticing he wasn’t even looking at you, it was as if you were witnessing a private conversation he was holding with himself, confessing something not meant for you. He continued, still staring across the lab.
“Though what I believe you don’t realize, is just how much you make others feel like they belong. How many years some of them wandered around the tower… So suspicious of each other”
Something in his tone told you he wasn’t just talking about Natasha and Bucky.
“You make everyone feel so… at home.” He looked down at you, “And that’s something I haven’t felt, in a-” he sighed, had he really ever felt that way? “I don’t know.”
“Sometimes it just feels so,” you shrugged “not like that” not like home.
What he would do to make you feel just as at home as you made him feel, and before he could protest, the words flew from his lips before he even had a moment to question them.
“It could” he muttered, “It could feel like home.”
You raised an eyebrow at him, and he resisted the urge to pull you back into him as you slid your arms back into your lap,
You were so, human, perfectly human. The way you cared so much, how even when you were in pain, you still entertained his ramblings, truthfully, he wasn’t used to someone giving him this much attention, and it was just so utterly human of you, it was just so, you.
“Loki?” You pressed, and he swore he could just die right then and be content, your hand had found its way onto his cheek, your thumb slowly tracing nonsensical patterns into his skin.
“The tower, if you would let me, I would do my absolute very best to make you feel like you were at home, before all this.”
“Loki, I don’t-”
“Or we could just leave” he quickly cut you off “Leave the tower entirely” he seemed to stand a bit straighter, a rush of confidence surging through him, “Pack your things and leave, I’ll leave a note and we can go anywhere you’d like, anywhere that you’d like to go, London, Amsterdam, we can go back to your apartment if you’d like” he was beginning to sound frantic as he pulled his face away from you, opting to grab your hands instead, “Anywhere…” he whispered, his wild eyes searching your face for an answer, he found himself blinking back tears, “I’d go anywhere with you.”
Loki took a deep breath, finally realizing what he had said, there was no way he didn’t just ruin everything, how could he be so selfish?
Then it was you comforting Loki as tears flowed freely down his cheeks, “I’d go anywhere with you” he repeated, barely above a whisper, “I’m so sorry” he attempted to collect himself before you pulled him out of his thoughts
“Loki, why are you sorry?” You laughed,
Why were you laughing? Had he really humiliated himself so horribly that you were laughing at him?
“I would go anywhere with you,”
He couldn’t have just heard you correctly.
“But we don’t have to leave the tower” you seemed so unsure of yourself, were you crying again? “Loki,” you took a deep breath, as if you were steadying yourself before continuing “you make this” you gestured aimlessly around the lab, “you make all of this feel like home.”
He couldn’t contain himself anymore, the feelings he had felt around you finally had a name, and he now understood why everyone had seemed to be keeping a secret from him. It was you. The knowing looks his brother had exchanged with the others during your first meeting, the stifled snickers as Loki barely held himself from protesting you joining them on the mission, everyone knew.
‘She’s intriguing isn’t she’
He didn’t know if he was angry or thankful, had they recruited you just for him? Were you only hired to be nothing more than a babysitter for him? He remembered the nerves that radiated from you during your first introduction. Or had they just known that he would fall for you eventually? Your brilliant smile and sharp intelligence had to have struck them just as much as they struck him initially, was Thor to blame for all this? Was this his plan all along?
He couldn’t tell if it was fear or gratitude he felt at the realization, though he was too preoccupied to give it any more thought when his lips found yours in an instant, and just as quickly you two had settled into your morning routine, this felt just as comfortable, just as right.
“So,” Loki said breathlessly, placing his forehead against yours, “Where to?”
..................................................................................................................
“Good morning” you grumbled from your pillow, sighing contently, there were no early meetings today, nothing to do, no urgent matters to attend to, you could stay in for as long as you’d like. A sleepy smile crept its way onto your face, a little slice of normalcy for a change.
“Good morning my love” Loki replied, wrapping his arm just a bit tighter around your waist
“I’m not going anywhere you know?” He barely left you an inch of wiggle room, only squeezing you closer to him as you attempted to slide out from his hold on you, not that you actually wanted to be anywhere else.
One day, he would take you away from all this, he would talk to Stark and Rogers before, he knew how you’d worry if they didn’t know where you were. He had often dreamed about life outside of the tower, though he never could have foreseen the white picket fence and perfectly trimmed yard that now plagued his daydreams, in truth, he never could have foreseen you at all, yet here you were, staring up at him with every ounce of love you had in your body. He promised himself that you would never have to worry about anything again, at least nothing like what he found you worried about now. Before, when he had imagined you dancing around the kitchen, humming off-key as you poured the both of you a cup of tea, it had seemed a bit like a distant dream, like a memory from his childhood he could barely recall, but now, lying beside you, it didn’t seem so far off, like his dream was just barely out of reach, but as he listened to your quiet breathing, feeling your warmth against his chest, he realized something, it was all right here.
‘Nothing can beat the view, for as far as the eye can see there’s, no one but mr., no one but mrs., smith, and me.’

Warning: Child neglect, swearing, angst, death
Summary: After being kidnapped by Hydra, Y/N does some reflecting on her home life. Especially her relationship with her father

Tumblr media
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You never thought your life would end like this. Alone, trapped in a Hydra cell, full of anger and resentment for the one man who was never supposed to break your heart. Of course, up until now you had been pretty optimistic your father would realize the error of his ways and miraculously spend years making up for years of missed recitals, ignored achievements, and multiple other offenses. You always forgave him because, hey the man was a member of the Avengers, what should you expect having Tony Stark as a father?
But right now, as you lay on the cold, damp floor, writhing in pain from whatever glowey nuclear shit those assholes injected you with, you can’t help but remember the mistreatment and neglect bestowed upon you by your father.
It was, it was September Winds blow, dead leaves fall
You’ll always remember that September day. The day your entire life had changed
You were only eight when Loki tried to take over New York. You and your mom were coming home from the store when all of a sudden, people around you started to panic. Looking up, you saw a large portal in a once clear blue sky. Creatures appeared out of no where, destroying anything in their way. Your mother, terrified, took you by the hand and headed for a near by building. But, it seemed that others had that idea as well. Before you knew it, your vision was overwhelmed by the bodies of citizens trying to escape the chaos outside. After a few seconds, you found yourself in a crowed parking garage and no idea where your mother was.
You never saw her again after that.
After three days of searching, the police declared her dead and you were sent to live with your godmother, Pamela Isely.
She was good to you. She held you through nightmares, told you stories about how your mother and her met, and even taught you how to take care of plants. The only complaint you had was that she would usually leave you alone every once in a while and come back with a lot of money, and occasionally, a loud blonde woman in a clown costume would come through the window and pinch your cheeks too hard. Other than that, you got adjusted to your new life quickly.
Four months passed and your life changed again. It was a cold September day, and you had just got home from school. As you walked into the apartment, you immediately felt a tension in the air, and you saw a man at the table with your Aunty Pam, who looked extremely uneasy and pale. They stared at you until your Aunt spoke.
“Y/N...you’re going back to New York.”
Those words alone made the floor fall from underneath you. You had just settled down. You finally felt comfortable without your mother in the world and now this?? Then the man cleared his throat, causing you to snap back into reality.
“Y/n, my name is Tony Stark”
 You knew that name, he was the man in the metal suit who helped save New York. You didn’t care at the moment though, you just wanted to know why you were leaving your aunt.
Ignoring Tony, you looked at your aunt and whispered,
 “ Did...did I do something wrong?”
Immediately, Pams eyes filled with tears as she quickly gathered you in her arms and responded with a loud,
“Oh no, darling of course not”, She then proceeded to tell you the uncomfortable looking man at the table was in fact your father, who up till now you had never met. In fact, you never even fathomed the idea of having a father as your mom had always told you that you were a gift from some fairies she helped. You turned to the man who quietly sat at the table and looked over the man who was said to be your father.
He was definitely a handsome man. He wore a fancy looking suit and some tinted glasses even though he was inside. His hair was dark brown and messy, as if he was tugging or running his fingers through it. His skin looked to be am olive color but it was hard to tell as he looked kind of pale in the light of the small apartment you called home. You thought it was odd he hadn’t said anything other than introducing himself.
“ Is it true? Are you really my dad?” You asked in a quiet voice.
He finally spoke, “Yeah kid, I’m your dad”
To you, I did surrender
Two weeks, you didn’t call
It’s been two weeks since you were taken by Hydra. Two weeks since you were injected with that mystery substance. You didn’t die, at least you don’t think you did. But you didn’t exactly feel alive either. You were colder than usual, like your body temperature lowered. You slept longer than normal especially the first three days after you were injected. The guards had to wake you up just to get you to eat. But the most worrying symptom of all is that your eyes were the same shade of neon blue as the liquid that was injected into your body. And everytime your eyes turned blue, something weird would happen.
For example, the first time you noticed your eyes were blue, you woke up from the first long sleep.The second time, you thought you heard voices, screaming in agony and despair.This was odd because you were the only one in that cell block. As you came back to reality, you realized that you could see other ghostly figures in the once empty cells, and that you were floating three feet above your bed.
Within the two weeks you were in that cell, you learned that that day you were injected, your heart did stop for an hour until you miraculously sprung back to life with a loud gasp, scaring the absolute shit out of the Hydra guards that were tasked with disposing your body. That would go through physical changes as well. Your once brown skin would change to a pale ghostly blue. And your black kinky hair would change to a shocking neon blue to match the color of your eyes.
For two weeks, you learned the ins and outs of your newfound powers. Two weeks of being pushed to your absolute limits by power hungry scientists. Two weeks of learning the names of the dead around you in those cells.
It took two weeks, to realize that your father truly didn’t care about you.
And looking back on it, you should’ve known
Your life, goes on without me  My life, a losing game
It had been a year since you had moved into the Avengers Tower with your father. It had taken you a while to warm up to the team and for the team to get used to having a child around. But once you all got to know each other, it was like having multiple aunts and uncles. Especially because you were around them more than your own father.
Unfortunately, once you had settled in and gotten to know everyone, Tony had locked himself away in his lab. Tinkering on a new project for weeks on end, ignoring his responsibilities as a new father.
Now, this didn’t really affect you till you started school. Tony had forgotten to pick you up multiple times, causing you to wait for hours on end till either Steve or Pepper realized that you hadn’t come home and rushed to the school , only to see you waiting on the front steps talking the ear off of the unlucky teacher who had to stay behind to wait with you.
Of course word got around that Y/N Stark was being forgotten at school everyday, thus prompting the kids at school to taunt you everyday after school.
“Where's your daddy Y/N??”
“I bet he leaves you here so you can get kidnapped so he doesn’t have to look at you”
“Your own dad doesn’t even love you”
Once you got to middle school, you joined as many after school clubs to hide the fact that there was no one to pick you up. And a small part hoped that it would be enough to gain your fathers attention. But it didn’t happen.
“Daddy! I made the volleyball team!”
“hmm, oh that's great kid, can you pass me that wrench”
“Dad! I’m in the robotics club”
“Y/N I’m really busy right now”
“ Hey dad...can you help me with--”
“Not now, go ask Pepper”
No matter what you did, you could never get his attention long enough. Nothing you did was good enough. You never got so much as a “welcome home” or a “ have a good day at school kiddo”. And you were fine with that. You were, because you knew that even though he didn’t show it, Tony Stark really did love you.
But you should, you should not doubt me You will remember my name.
After learning the extent of your powers, which included; flying,the ability to talk and see the dead, energy blasts, floating through walls, and the ability to shut off your powers at will. You decided it was time for you to make plans to escape.
You’d like to think that you were really good at pretending.
You did it on a daily basis, really. You pretended to be happy, not to notice Tony’s neglect, like you didn’t see the pity glances the rest of the team gave you. So convincing your captors that they finally broke you down wasn’t really a challenge.
“....fine..i’ll help you” You said in a tired weak voice.
The two guards were startled at first, not expecting you to speak so suddenly
“You..what?” The younger of the two asked in a suspicious tone.
“I said I want to help you” you repeated a little louder.
The first guard looked to the second, obviously confused at your sudden change of heart. They had a silent conversation with their eyes, as if debating on whether this was a trick or not. Finally, the older of the two turned to you and said,
“This better not be a trick, Stark.”
And with that, he started to unlock the door to your cell.
“Okay, now I can either fight them now  and make a break for it, or I can wait till i get to the--”
Your thoughts were cut off by a loud wailing, piecing your ears and automatically giving you a headache. Wincing in pain you look around the empty cell blocks and try to locate the spirit that’s making all that noise. When you see it, your heart breaks. It’s a young boy, around your age. The first thing you notice about him is that he had white hair, kinda Danny Phantom. As you continued to stare at the boy, his head suddenly turned and you both made eye contact, the movement startling you enough to make you jerk in the hold of the guards
“ HEY, eyes forward!” shouted the older guard. “There's no way out, if that's what you're looking for’ He said in a smug tone.
“I said I wanted to join you, why would I want to escape?” You reply, irritation dripping from your words.
“Just don’t pull any tricks kid.”
God does he have any other lines, you think to yourself mentally rolling your eyes. Sounds familiar.
Oh Ember, you will remember
Oh Ember, one thing remains
“Y/N I’m busy, go as--” “I know, go ask Pepper”
“Oh kid, I’m sorry I forgot” “ yeah, I know”
“You’re on the volleyball team” “ yes dad. For four years now”
“Y/N! I’m gonna be in the lab with Peter so try not to bother us.”
“Y/N me and Peter--”
“Good job, Peter”
“Hey Peter--”
God were you tired of that name. You never ever felt the feeling of envy and anger as much as you did when Peter came into your life.
In fact, you were still healing from almost losing your family you found in the Avengers. Your dad didn’t want you around the “traitors” as he privately called them, so you were secluded. Watching them from afar and yearning for the comfort of hearing Steves pre-war stories, helping Clint pull off the most ridiculous pranks, helping Wanda teach Vision how to cook, and most of all you missed talking to Natasha. She reminded you of your aunt Pam, mainly because they both had red hair. You hoped that your father would understand this loss and step up now that you really needed a connection, but no. He decided that Peter Parker deserved all his attention. So you stopped trying as hard.
Oh Ember, So warm and tender You will remember my name
You walk into a room with a singular table and no windows. Sat at the table was a bald man writing in a notebook. The two guards lead you to the table and make you sit opposite of the bald man. He looks up at you and smiles.
“So, Ms. Stark has finally decided to comply?” He asks in a smug tone. You roll your eyes and answer back in a sarcastic tone,
“Yeah yeah, just cut the crap and tell me what you want me to do.”
The bald man just smiles and looks at you, as if trying to read your mind to figure out your motives.
“Well”, he says, leaning back into his chair. “Lets get down to business.” He then proceeds to talk about the process of join his team and what you will be doing. But you don’t hear a word of it. Because you were going to escape this hell hole one way or another.
“Well then, lets get you changed.” said the bald man. “Yeager, Jennings, take our guest to to her new room.
“Huh so they do have names.” You think, as they pull you out of the chair and into the hallway. Walking back into the cell block, you make eye contact with that white haired boy again. He’s quiet as he watches you walk back to your room, then he disappears.
You finally get back to your cell and notice a pair of black spandex, black halter top, grey boots and some black gloves on the floor. Changing into them, you take your hair into a pineapple with a hair tie they had given you. Looking into the piece of metal you used as a mirror, you changed into your ghost form. Suddenly, you hear a male voice behind you.
“Don’t let them know you can do that.”
You startle and turn around, only to see none other than the white haired boy. He looked equally as startled as he realized you can see and hear him.
“Why not?” you asked, changing back to your normal self.
“Because, they won’t ever let you leave.You’re already the first one to survive the injection. If they realize you can go ghost, they’ll do everything in their power to control you.”
Your mind flashed to Bucky. How Steve told you that they kept him. Brainwashing him over and over till he just became a weapon. You were not going to let them do that to you. You looked back at the boy.
“Can you help me get out of here?” you asked hopefully. The boy looked at you and said,
“Well I’ve got nothing else to do.” You let go a sigh of relief. You were about to say something when you heard Yeager and Jennings walking down the hallway.
“They’re coming” You whisper, “ what do I do?”
“This base is small. All the people here are the only ones who know about it. They’re all going to be in the training room you’re being taken to. Wait till you get there, phase into the floor to the basement and blow up the heater. That should cause the whole building to cave in”
You again don’t get to respond, as the two men finally get to your cell and unlock it. You walk out of the cell, head held high and allow them to lead you to the training room. Despite the look of confidence, you were dreading the next few moments.
“So how come I’m the only one here?” you ask, even though you know the answer. The older guard looks at you and says
“You’re the only one who survived.” You fake a look of shock and look forward as if the news made you uneasy. And it did. It made you mad that these people didn’t care that they were murdering innocent people. They couldn’t hear the cries and the wails of agony these poor trapped souls emitted. In a way, it was ironic. Back at the tower, you were the poor soul nobody could see. And now you were surrounded by them.
Your heart, your heart is rendered Your loss, now bear the shame
This was the last straw. There was only so much you an take before you broke and this was it.
 Tony didn’t intend for you to hear it, but god did it hurt all the same. One phrase shattered your whole world.
“You know Spiderling, your kinda like the kid I always wanted to have.”
An tense silence filled the common room. The first time in months you were able to see th eteam and they had to bear witness to this. Of course they did, who else would give you that stare full of sorrow and pity. You barely even noticed though. You were too busy looking at the “heartwarming scene.”
“that's such bullshit” Oh, how you wish you had a camera if only to capture the look of pure “oh shit” painted on Steve's face.
“What..what was that kid?” Asks your father. You turn to him, a fury in your eyes that nobody has ever seen.
“THAT IS ABSOLUTE BULLSHIT.”  You scream. “ FOR EIGHT YEARS I HAVE TRIED SO HARD FOR YOU TO LOVE ME. EIGHT YEARS I JOINED CLUBS, GOT THE HIGHEST GRADED IN CLASS AND FOR WHAT?”
Tony and Peter look at you in shock “Y/n..wha..what are you talking about?” Peter asks in a baffled voice.
“Oh eat shit Peter! You know exactly what I’m talking about! Do you not find it weird, that your new mentor spends every single second of free time he has on you and not with his daughter?? Or are you so needy for some sort of parental validation that you don’t even care??”
Deep down you know it’s not Peters fault. Hell, you two probably could have been good friends if your dad wasn’t such a tool.
“Hey kid, I don’t know what's gotten into you, but that was way over the line.” Said Tony in a stern voice. Your eyes harden.
“Oh, did I hurt your poor little spiders feelings?? I didn’t even know you cared about other peoples feelings Tony? Or is it just your daughters that you ignore ?”
“What are you talking about? I don’t ignore you, stop being so over dramatic.”
OVERDRAMATIC?? DO YOU REALIZE THE ONLY THING YOU KNOW ABOUT ME IS MY NAME??” You are now sobbing. “ Do you even know my favorite color? How old I am?”
Tony looks at you, eyes wide.”Y/N...” You cut him off
“Just forget it. I understand now. I will never be important to you. Not like Peter apparently is. I just wish it didn't take me eight years to figure that out.” And with that, you run out of the room, tears running down your cheeks and ignoring the calls of your father, the team, and Peter.
You run for a few blocks and cry in an alleyway. not the smartest idea but you were too upset to care. And as you cry, you don’t notice the dark shadow behind you before its too late and the world goes dark.
Like dead trees, in cold december  Nothing but ashes remain
The hydra base was now engulfed with flames.  Your body was tired from phasing through the walls, and your head hurts from those energy blasts. But one thing brings some happiness in your heart as you watch all the souls that were trapped there realize they are free. All but one, the white haired kid. He walks up to you.
“So you did it.” He says with a smile. You smile back.
“Yeah I did.  Thanks to you.”
“Blue suits you.” he says with a blush. You squint at him for a second and let out a chuckle.
“Thanks” ,You’re both silent for a few seconds, watching the souls leave. You speak up again.
“Why aren’t you leaving like them” You question him.
“I don’t know, I guess my time here isn’t up.” he says looking out at the horizon. You nod and look at around trying to figure out where you are.
“So, what are you going to do next” he asks. Your body stiffens as you are filled with resentment.
“I’m going to visit my father.” You say, eyes glowing a neon blue.
You will remember my name.
That's Immortality, My Darling
Requested by: Anonymous
Word Count: 2010
Pairing: Loki x fem!black!reader
Warnings: Odin
(Y/N)'s POV
I groaned as I rolled over, trying to block out the light filtering through the room. It wasn't going anywhere, so I sat up and rubbed the sleep from my eyes. "Loki, I thought I told you to close the blinds before you went to bed last night."
"Sorry darling, it must've slipped my mind. Did you have a good slumber?" Loki asked as he pressed gentle kisses along my shoulder. I nodded, letting out one final yawn before standing up and stretching. "I'll make breakfast while you shower. Waffles sound good?"
"Yeah, waffles would be perfect. Thanks, Love." I bent down and gave him a quick peck on the lips.
----
Gods that shower really woke me up. I thought to myself as I brushed my hair into a bun. Good, it's growing. Maybe I should get it locked up so I don't have to do much to it anymore.
"Darling, you've been in here for a while. Is everything alright?" Loki called from the other side of the door.
"Yeah, everything's fine." I said as I opened the door. Loki was standing there, his hair still a mess, but he was wearing sweatpants and a black t-shirt. "Breakfast ready?"
"Yep." Loki wrapped his arm around my waist as we walked to the kitchen. The smell of vanilla and coffee filled my nose, causing me to let out a long sigh. "Sit down, I'll make your plate." I nodded and sat down at one of the bar stools in front of the island. Loki sat a plate of waffles, strawberries and bacon in front of me, as well as a steaming cup of coffee.
"I thought you didn't know how to use the coffee machine?" I joked as I took a sip of the coffee. Perfect.
"I don't, I don't have the patience to learn various Midgardian technologies. I made it using my magic." He explained as he sat beside me. I rolled my eyes, flicking a strawberry at him.
"Y'know, if we're gonna spend the rest of our lives together, you should probably stop shitting on one of my people's greatest achievements." I said as I took a bite out of a piece of bacon. Loki's face fell for a split second before going back to normal. I still saw the look he gave me at my words. "What's wrong?"
"We won't be together for the rest of our lives. At least not for the rest of mine. You'll die before me." He said softly as he traced random patterns on the island counter. I sighed, turning my body so I was fully facing him.
"Loki, look at me." I said as I lifted his head so our eyes met. There was pain hiding behind those beautiful blue orbs, but there was a lot of doubt as well. "You know that that doesn't bother me. I've come to terms with the fact that I'll die before you. Don't let it bother you too much. As long as I get to spend the rest of my days with you, I'll have lived a fulfilled life. Understand?"
"I understand (Y/N), but it still hurts that I'll have to live without you. You've made me a better person. I'm sure this is probably selfish, but I don't think there's such a thing as a life worth living without you."
"I know, but there's nothing we can do about it." Loki looked down, not saying anything before nodding and cleaning our plates.
----
Loki's POV
There's nothing we can do about it.
(Y/N)'s words from breakfast that morning had been playing in my head for about a week now. There is one thing we can do. If only I didn't have to ask him for permission.
"Loki, Thor should be here any minute. Are you ready to go?" (Y/N) asked as she walked into our room.
"Ready as I'll ever be." I said as I grabbed her hand and pulled her to the living room. It was time for Thor and I's annual visit back to Asgard, and this time I decided to bring (Y/N) with me. She'd always wanted to travel, and there is no place better to start than my home planet.
A knock on the door alerted us to my brother's presence. (Y/N) opened the door to reveal standing there, an annoyingly large smile and traditional Asgardian armor on. "Lady (Y/N)! It's great to see you again! I do hope that my little brother is treating you well." Thor said as he hugged (Y/N).
"Of course he is, if he wasn't you know I'd beat his ass." (Y/N) said as she pulled away from the hug.
"Are you two done? Because we need to get going so mother doesn't worry." I said as I wrapped an arm around (Y/N) again. Thor nodded, and we made our way to an empty field so Heimdal could open the bifrost for us. I hope he's become kinder than the last time I saw him.
----
"It's good to see you Heimdal." Thor said as we stepped out the bifrost.
"Good to see you too, Thor. And you must be (Y/N), Thor and Loki have told me so much about you." Heimdal said as he turned towards (Y/N).
"Nice to meet you."
"You as well. The three of you should get going, the king and queen are waiting for you."
As we walked along the bridge, I noticed (Y/N) looking around in awe. So adorable. I tapped her on the shoulder, causing her to look up at me with the most amazing sense of wonder. "I told you that words couldn't do this place justice."
"I knew it would be beautiful, but this is just… I can't even find the words to describe it." She said as she continued looking around.
"If you want, later I can take you on a walk to explore the villages. They all have their own signature thing, whether it be food or clothes. You'll absolutely love it." I explained as I placed a kiss on her knuckles. She giggled and held onto my arm, laying her head on my shoulder.
The guards opened the gates to the castle, mother and Odin waiting there for us. (Y/N) let go of my arm so I could properly greet them. I walked up to my mother and gave her a hug.
"Oh how I've missed you Loki. Have you been eating enough, you seem thinner than usual." Mother scolded as she looked over my body, shaking her head at my supposed weight loss.
"Mother, I'm fine. I assure you that I have been eating properly, (Y/N) makes sure of that." I said once she released me from the hug. (Y/N) walked over to us, bowing slightly towards my mother.
"Oh dear, there's no need for formality. Anybody who can see behind Loki's cold exterior shall be considered family." She said as she pulled (Y/N) into a tight hug. Hopefully she will be soon. I left the two of them to talk while I talked to my father.
"Father, can I speak to you for a moment? Alone." I asked quietly. (Y/N) doesn't need to hear this conversation if it doesn't go in my favor.
----
(Y/N)'s POV
"So you and Loki have been together for 3 and a half years, correct?" Frigga asked as we sat on one of the benches in the entryway.
"Yes ma'am."
"So you started dating him even after everything that happened in New York?"
"Yeah, but he's changed so much since then. He seems more… at peace with himself. He's a lot nicer to other people, and he's more willing to help the Avengers."
"Well, I'm glad that he's changed for the better. He seems to be very happy with you. I won't keep you long, let's go find the boys so they can show you around." She said as she stood up. I nodded, following her in the direction I presume the boys went in. The farther down the hall, 2 voices got louder and louder. What's going on?"
"... This one thing! Just the one! After all you have put me through, this is the least you could do." Loki yelled. "Why don't you want me to be happy?"
"You knew the consequences of falling in love with a mortal! It is not my responsibility to right your wrongs, Loki. You made your bed, now lay in it. That is my final word." Odin yelled back. Are they talking about me?
"But I love her! I've finally found someone that I want to spend the rest of my life with, and you won't let me. Why?"
"Because you-"
"Enough, both of you! You two have been so caught up in your arguing, you haven't realized that Mother and (Y/N) walked in!" Thor interrupted, pointing at me and Frigga. Loki turned and gave me a sad look, but Odin didn't move a muscle.
"What is all this fuss about?" Frigga asked as she looked between the 3 of them.
"Loki is being a foolish child." Odin finally said, finally turning his attention towards his wife.
"Oh I'm sorry, I didn't realize wanting to marry the girl I love made me a foolish child." Loki shot back with all the venom he could muster. Marry?
"Odin, if Loki wants to marry (Y/N), you should let him. They are clearly deeply in love."
"How do we know that this will last? This could easily be another one of his tricks in search of power."
"Father, I can promise you that those are not Loki's intentions. He's proven time and time again that he loves (Y/N) very much. Please, grant him this one happiness." Thor attempted to reason. Loki looked at his brother, giving him a small smile. Over the past few years, they had finally built a proper sibling bond, so I'm sure that Loki was very grateful for his brother's input.
"Father I promise, I have no ill intentions attached to wanting to marry (Y/N). Please, give us your blessing." Loki pleaded.
"Fine! But if anything happens, it'll be the three of you all's fault!" Odin shouted as he pointed at Thor, Loki, and Frigga.
----
"I'm so sorry that you had to hear that darling. I was hoping he would say yes, but I should've known he would be difficult." Loki had been apologizing to me the whole way back to our room, but I kept assuring him that it was fine.
"Loki, I told you it's fine. It's not your fault." I said as I gave his cheek a quick kiss. He nodded and sat on the bed. "However, it would've been nice to know that you were proposing." I joked as I sat next to him, laying my head on his shoulder.
"Oh don't act so surprised, I know that you knew. You always know what I'm thinking before I have the chance to think it myself." Loki said as he rubbed my shoulder.
"You're right, but I still want you to ask me officially. And give me a ring." I held up my hand, turning it over. A small one would be nice.
"Once we get married, you can have all the jewels and rings that you want." Loki kissed me on the forehead, laying us down on the bed.
"I don't need jewels to be happy, love. All I need is you."
"And we'll have the rest of both of our lives together."
"What do you mean?" I asked as I looked up at him.
"Us getting married means that our lifespans are connected. That means that when one of us dies, the other one won't fall far behind." He explained as he pushed my hair out of my face.
"I should've known that you would find a way for us to be together for as long as possible."
"For you my darling? I'd search all 9 realms and beyond to find the answer."
Loki x Reader - Married in Secret ENDING 1
Warnings: Fluff Word Count: 1K Summary: Read part 1 first! This is choice #1 of three possible endings you can choose from.  Author’s Note: This won’t make sense unless you read the [main part] first :)
YOUR POV
Loki had insisted on keeping his surprise a secret, which only added to the fun. With a simple magic trick, Loki had managed to get you through the palace and into a carriage without being noticed. Magic really did come in handy from time to time.
Through the curtains that kept you hidden from outside view, you peeked just to get an idea of where you were going. You saw tall trees as far as your eyes could carry and the road beneath you felt bumpy. It was clear you were in the woods, which was nice. Asgardian nature had always fascinated the both of you. The song of the birds was beautiful to listen to, and being surrounded by such lush plants was calming to the mind. Some peace and quiet after the past few days would be a great treat.
“Someone’s curious,” Loki noted as you closed the curtain again. You were sat next to each other, which allowed you to lean onto his shoulder.
“Can’t help it,” You defended yourself, “You always have such creative ideas. I have no idea where we’re going.”
Loki ran his long fingers up and down the side of your arm. It was quite comforting to feel his touch. “Good. Then it will truly be a surprise.”
                         Eventually, the ride came to a halt. Loki got out first and he offered you his hand to ease your exit. As you stepped outside, you were met with fresh air that felt cool against your skin. You held your dress with your other hand to keep it from touching the ground. It was already dark outside and you could see all the beautiful, twinkling stars above you clearly. Fireflies were flying nearby which caught your eye.
Then you saw the cabin in the middle of the woods. There were flickering lights on the inside and the outside. Candles had been lit from the road all the way to the tall doors and you noticed yet another path of flowers. It was absolutely magnificent.
“Loki...” You didn’t know what to say. How had he managed to pull everything off without your knowledge?
“Do you want to see the inside?” He wondered calmly. By now, the carriage was getting ready to leave you all alone for the next couple of days. This was going to be your little getaway - a honeymoon of complete and utter privacy.
“Are you kidding me? I’d love to!” You wanted to run inside already to see the place. So far, everything seemed magical. No one was there to see you, which meant that you could kiss him and hug him as much as your heart desired to. If you hadn’t been so awfully keen on seeing what he had up his sleeve, you would’ve already pounced on him with your affection. But patience was key.
Loki opened the doors with ease and revealed what was waiting on the inside. Dozens of candles were lit all around the place. You saw a big living room and a kitchen area. The fireplace was lit and there were several blankets on the couch and the wooden floor. You also noticed bottles of wine and trays of fruits and berries, waiting to be devoured.
The mighty kitchen table was full of desserts, snacks, foods and drinks. The trail of flowers continued on the inside. There was a smell of burnt firewood and sweet roses lingering in the air softly, which gave the space a romantic feel. There was so much going on that you could hardly notice everything at once.
It was absolutely brilliant.
Loki came up behind you and gently grabbed your hand, spinning you around so you would face each other. The way he treated you made you feel like a queen. He was so gentle when he wanted to be.
“It’s all for us. I’ve cleared our schedules for the next week. No one can bother us for days,” Loki’s words were like music to your ears.
Knowing that you could get some peace allowed you to relax on the spot. You wanted to melt into his touch already.
“I love you,” You didn’t know what else to day. That day had been wondrous and it was only getting better. It was so emotional for you. You were married and you were on your little getaway. This was the beginning of something great.
“I love you too,” Loki cupped your face like he had done so many times before. He knew your body and your heart like no other. “You’re the best thing that has ever happened to me, Y/N. I hope you know that.”
Was he trying to make your heart melt? If so, he was positively succeeding.
Unable to find the right words, you decided to show him how much you cared. Your arms wrapped overs his shoulders and you held onto the back of his head, pulling him closer to you. By now, you heart was beating a little bit faster. Anticipation was running through your veins. You wanted him.
When your lips collided, everything else seemed irrelevant. Loki tasted sweet and you were quickly drunk on him, you wanted more. No, you needed more. The kiss deepened when you tilted your head, giving him better access to graze your body and lips.
As you got lost in the kiss, Loki’s skillful hands caressed your dress. He was quick to find the buttons that kept the fabric wrapped around your body. He couldn’t wait to take it off of you, but he had to be patient, so he stopped himself from unbuttoning it. For now.
Loki pulled back from the kiss and smiled when he saw the needy look in your eyes, “patience, my dear.”
“What for?” You whined, willing to rip the dress off already. But you knew Loki liked to take his time with you. He knew how to push you to the edge and make you a mess before him. You couldn’t deny that it was plenty of fun.
“We haven’t eaten yet. There’s plenty to choose from,” He walked away from you and approached the table. You could only watch as he grabbed a bottle of red liquid, which you assumed was wine. “Would you like a drink?” Loki wondered oh-so innocently, as if he didn’t know what he was doing to you.
Two could play that game.
“Oh, that would be delightful,” You gave him a sweet smile and you walked over to him, taking a seat on the cushioned chair. You crossed your legs and leaned against the table, never taking your eyes off of him.
Loki poured two glasses of wine, one for you and one for him. As both of you had a glass in hand, he cleared his throat and declared, “for us.”
“For us,” you repeated and clinked his glass with yours and then tasted the luxurious drink.
This was only the beginning of not only a magical week, but the rest of your lives as husband and wife.
Note
I was wondering how honest Loki was in that conversation with Mobius at the end of the episode. He definitely doesn't like hurting people (applause for this quote. Now, no one will be able to say that Loki is a sadist and psychopath). However, these words about trick and illusion. I feel a lie here. It's true that Loki has masks. However, this is a mask of self-confidence, not of harming weaker beings. Especially since he used the same words for TVA earlier.
I say he is pretty honest about what he says and believes. That moment meant to show who Loki really is, and how he thinks when he lets all his masks fall, when lets go of projection and misdirections and lets his vulnerability shows.
I liked that all through his interrogation with Mobius he couldn't watch the scenes from Avengers. I liked that they explicitly showed his reaction and he also said it twice, emphasized that he doesn't enjoy hurting people. Obviously we've known this since the beginning. But it was a nice confirmation against the people who say Loki is a sadist and a psychopath and missed his tears and the horror on his face when he watched the destruction of NY and rejected Thor's offer to join him, because he thought he didn't have a choice while The Other was in his head. But also this fact about him, is apparent in other moments of his story. In the way he protects Jane, even in the way he fights enemies. He is fast and swift and doesn't inflict unnecessary pain.
However, these words about trick and illusion. I feel a lie here. It's true that Loki has masks. However, this is a mask of self-confidence, not of harming weaker beings. Especially since he used the same words for TVA earlier.
Yes and No. There isn’t a lie, but also his masks aren’t about hurting people. Let me explain what I think Loki meant.
Loki: "I don't enjoy hurting people. I don't enjoy it. I do it because I have to, because I've had to. Because it's part of the illusion. It's the cruel elaborate trick conjured by the weak to inspire fear."
Mobius: "A desperate play to control."
From out-universe POV let's hope that the narrative doesn't mean that Loki's been going around, hurting people and inspiring fear so he can feel in control(although from what MW has said I'm not really optimistic that this wasn't their goal).
Let's analyze how it makes sense from in-universe POV. During the interrogation, Mobius was mostly focusing on Avengers' events to show that how Loki hurts people. And what Loki says here mostly makes sense if we consider what's been going around in that movie. Because we don’t see this behavior from him in other movies.
In Avengers, Loki has a role to play, a villain, a conqueror. But he is also not in control of his situation. He doesn't realize it, but his mind was influenced by the mind stone to magnify his negative feelings about Thor and Earth. He is also under duress, because he is being threatened by Thanos and The Other. In that situation he is desperate for control. So he tries to feel in control by inspiring fear, but also through all those scenes you see that Loki uses projection in talking to humans. His talk to Fury, the people who he made kneel and Natasha are all a reflection of his own emotions about himself and how he feels about his situation. He speaks to Fury about freedom being a lie, as he never really felt free, specially now under the threat of Thanos. His speech in Stuttgart can be a repeat of what he was heard about himself during torture by Thanos. They’re eerily similar to the way Ebony Maw talks with Thanos and about his goal. And we know Ebony Maw could magically torture Loki too. His talk with Natasha can be interpreted in many ways. So Loki uses projection in his speech as a defense mechanism(but maybe projection is not exactly the right word because as we know Loki is aware of what he is doing and how the things he says applies to him as well).
Loki also knows that his attempt at control, the mask he chose for himself in Avengers, a confident and powerful conqueror is an illusion. We see how his confrontation with The Other unsettles him, how what Coulson says about him lacking conviction anger him, and how the destruction of NY horrifies him.
Illusion for Loki is not only a magical weapon, it’s what he’s been using literally and metaphorically to protect himself. As he makes false images to trick his enemies to attack them instead of him, he uses projection and masks so no one knows his vulnerabilities. Sometimes he even uses illusion instead of those masks, like when he hid himself and the state of his cell under an illusion after Frigga’s death. Loki knows better than anyone that the illusions he use are lies.
So when during interrogation Mobius pressures Loki to be honest, Loki answers with another projection, which is also true about why he acted that way in Avengers.
“I know what this place is. It’s an illusion. It’s a cruel elaborate trick conjured by the weak to inspire fear. A desperate attempt to control. Now, you all parade about as if you’re the divine arbiters of power in the universe.”
And in the end, when his masks are gone, when he is talking honestly, he shows that what he meant was not just about TVA but also about himself.
It was no secret that Tony Stark loved to make a grand entrance to everything he does. This morning was no exception. The time was around 8:15 when Tony practically kicked your door down to rip your blinds open. Sometimes you almost felt as if he was just another father figure in your life.
“Rise and shine!” he announced, forcing sunlight into your room. “We have a big day today, Y/N, c’mon!” he spoke as he continued to shake you awake. You lazily blinked open your eyes, groaning when Tony ripped your blankets from you. You already knew what he was here for.
“Alright, whatcha got for me?” Tony asked as he looked for the paintings he had requested the night before. You sighed.
“A headache, that’s what I have for you.” you replied, shoving your face back into your pillow.
“No, you’re not allowed to have a headache.” he simply stated. “Let me guess, you don’t have any paintings picked out?” You sat up on your bed, rolling your eyes when you saw Tony standing in the middle of your room with his arms crossed like a child.
“I can pick some out in literally five minutes, Tony, just let me wake up.” you said waving your hand at him, hoping he’d be satisfied with your answer.
“Yeah? Well make it quick, I don’t have all day.” he argued, walking towards your door. “By the way, breakfast is ready.” Tony said in a sing-song voice before leaving your room. You simply hummed in response, rubbing the sleep from your eyes. Today was going to be difficult, you already knew. Even though you were agreeing to spend your time with bidding paintings at the party, you still had your heart set on sneaking Loki in somehow. You were just stumped on how you would get that to happen.
~
After a morning of much needed breakfast, you got ready to face the day. Tony had asked both you and Natasha to go to the store to pick up a long list of supplies for the party. So there you stood, scanning the store’s large selection of alcohol bottles, not knowing which one Tony would want.
“What does he have on the list?” you ask, turning to Nat. She quickly scanned through the dramatically large catalog and shrugged.
“Just whatever looks good, I guess.” she replied before looking back to the shelves. Without another word, Natasha settled for three huge bottles of vodka. You don’t argue, seeing as you were just as clueless as to what Tony would want. “So tell me, what’s been going on with you?” she asks suddenly. You both proceeded to explore the store for whatever else the list requested.
“Oh, you know.” you paused. “The usual.” What ‘the usual’ was, you had no idea. Your life hasn’t exactly been normal since Thor had brought Loki into the Avengers Tower.
“Like what, painting pretty pictures and babysitting gods?” Nat laughed, plopping a case of Coca-Cola into the shopping cart. You were about to protest against her teasing when you realized that truly was what you have been doing for the past two days.
“Yeah, pretty much.” you admitted with a sigh. Natasha chuckled, before a moment of silence.
“How’s Loki?” she asked suddenly. The question made you tense up. It wasn’t that you hated talking about Loki, just something about him made your mind go blank.
“He’s fine.” you replied plainly. You then noticed Nat raise an eyebrow at you as if she knew that you were hiding something. Which she did, of course. You opted to continue, not seeing a point in lying to your friend or yourself. “He’s not as awful as everyone claims him to be. I think he’s just misunderstood.” you persuaded. Natasha nodded, listening intently.
“What makes you think that?” she questioned. That’s when you realized Natasha only knew the Loki that had invaded New York city, much like everyone else. She only saw the villain of the story and not the god that you saw up on the hill. That’s when you began to pour your heart out.
“Yesterday when I took him outside, I saw a side of him that I don’t think anyone else has seen before. He told me stories about Asgard and it sounded like so much more than just some ancient legend. It seemed so normal. He seemed so normal.” you explained, almost passionately. “I don’t know, Nat. I think he’s actually really sweet.” you admitted. Natasha’s eyes went wide.
“Oh my god, Y/N, you like him!” she gasped. Your heart practically stopped at her accusation. There’s no way that you had feelings for the God of Mischief.
“Oh my- absolutely not!” you stammered. “I’m just simply being kind!” you insisted. You could feel your face burning, undoubtedly displaying your embarrassment.
“Y/N, you cannot like Loki, that’s insane!” Nat declared. You could practically feel the stares from the other people in the store, considering how loud the two of you were being.
“I just said I don’t!” you corrected her.
“But you most certainly are lying!” Natasha accused, halting the shopping cart.
“I’m not.”
“Say that to me with a straight face then.”
“Nat, PUSH. THE. CART.”
“HA! I knew it!”
You both continued to bicker and squabble for the rest of the shopping trip. It wasn’t until you and Natasha reached the checkout line that the childlike arguing returned back to its normal conversational tone.
“Oh god, what will Tony think?” Natasha said with a gasp. You groaned, covering your face with your hands. The longer you listened to her babble on about Loki, the more you realized she could be right. You admit, Loki was a fairly attractive person. Plus his gentlemanly charm didn’t help your case much. Oh, who were you kidding? Loki was downright gorgeous and you knew it. No matter how much you tried to convince yourself otherwise, you knew that you were slowly catching feelings for the god.
“Tony can’t know, he’d have a fit.” you spoke almost in a whisper, as if Tony was listening to your conversation.
“Oh, so you admit it? You do have a crush on Loki?” Natasha asked eagerly.
“N-no! Well, yes, but you can’t say a word about it!” you pleaded almost in disbelief at what you had just admitted. You had a crush on the almighty Loki and there was no denying it. Natasha simply giggled like a school girl.
“Don’t worry, your secret is safe with me.” she assured you. Except the way she continued to smile about it the whole car ride home showed that she was going to have a difficult time keeping your secret.
“Wipe that smirk off your face, Romanoff, nobody can know!” you suddenly said as she drove the two of you back to the Avengers Tower.
“I’m sorry, I just have to say it.” she started. You shook your head, knowing this conversation wouldn’t end anytime soon. “You should try to make a move tonight.” she suggested, giving you a smug smirk.
“Oh c’mon, you know he’s not allowed at the party.” you claimed. “But I have been thinking about ways to sneak him in tonight.” Natasha mocked a gasp.
“Y/N, how scandalous of you.” she poked fun at you, causing you to giggle. “I must say though, I think you can absolutely do better.” she suddenly stated, making your jaw drop slightly.
“What do you mean?” you asked, slightly put out.
“Loki is a mass murderer!” Natasha indicated. “Not to mention he’s tortured our friends and acts like a complete asshole.” she continued. You wave your hand at her in an attempt to silence her.
“Like I said, he’s changed.” you defended. Natasha didn’t respond, leaving you two in silence. After some time, you thought of your task to sell your paintings at the party. You decided that it could be best if you were to just leave Loki in his room. Plus, it’s not like everything Natasha had said wasn’t true. Perhaps it's for the best that you don’t get too close with the terrorist of New York.
~
Third Person POV:
Loki watched his brother pace the floor as he sat on the bed, pondering ways to sneak himself into the party. The longer they allowed time to pass by, the more hopeless Loki began to feel.
“We’re short on time brother, this won’t work.” Loki sighed. “I say we just go with my idea.” he suggested. Thor gave him a stern look and crossed his arms.
“Loki, we are not going to tie up one of the party members to disguise yourself as them.” Thor lectured his brother. Loki scoffed at Thor’s statement. After a bit more pacing, Thor snapped his fingers as a scheme formed in his mind.
“But perhaps disguises are not such a terrible idea after all!” Thor quipped with a large grin. Loki raised his eyebrow at Thor, signaling him to continue with his thought. “Think back to when we were children. That trick you always played on me when you would transform yourself into a snake just to stab me.” Thor explained with slight annoyance in his voice, remembering those times of his childhood.
“If you’re suggesting I slither into the event as a snake, I don’t think the midgardians would be too pleased with serpents being let loose in the building.” Loki glared at Thor, thinking it was a poor idea.
“Yes, but that’s only if you are caught.” Thor urged with a devious smile. He knew his younger brother was always up for a challenge and this task seemed perfect for him. Loki gave the thought a second chance before chuckling to himself.
“Excuse me, brother.” Loki sighed, standing up from the bed. “I have a party to attend.”
~
Stark’s party was full to the brim with people. You had already known ahead of time that the event would be completely packed, yet the amount of people still managed to astonish you. So there you were, greeting people as they walked in. You gave warm smiles and shook hands with the ones who offered it. After some friendly greetings, you were approached by Tony who had ushered you away from the entrance. You expected nothing less from him.
“Alright Y/N, this is your deadline. Where’s the paintings?” he asked, feigning impatience.
“Relax, Tony, I’ve got everything set up by the bar.” you advised him, gesturing towards your stand which displayed the art.
“Oh good, because I’ve already promised like four people that I had museum quality shit here.” he shared quickly, walking towards your platform. You roll your eyes and dramatically sigh at Tony.
“Of course you have.” you said, following him. “Well I suppose I should get to work then.” you said, observing the line of people in front of the small stage.
“Good thinking. Thanks again, Picasso.” Tony thanked you, giving you a quick pat on the shoulder before sauntering over to a large group of people. You took a step onto the platform and strolled over to the small microphone displayed on a stand for you. Everyone took note of your presence and gave their full attention to you. You looked out to the crowd before sighing. As much as you weren’t in the mood to converse with a large amount of people, you always had an open heart for Tony.
“Hello, everyone!” you greeted into the microphone. “My name is Y/N and I am the creator of these paintings presented before you today. Let’s just start with a little bit of browsing, shall we?” you suggested, hoping the crowd would see eye to eye with your proposal. Much to your relief, they did, nodding their heads with agreement. “Great! Bidding will start in ten minutes.” you announced before turning the microphone off. You sighed in relief, happy you had extra time for yourself. In all honesty, you just needed time to get a drink. You were convinced you could never survive a Stark party without some sort of alcohol to give you an extra confidence boost. As you made your way to the bar, you were halted by no other than your friend Thor. He was dressed quite dapper, yet casual enough to give him easy mobility.
“Ah, Y/N! So lovely to see you.” he greeted, with a beer bottle in his hand.
“Thor, it’s great to see you too.” you nodded at him with a cordial smile. “You look striking tonight.” you complimented.
“Oh, you’re too kind. You look very well put together yourself.” Thor chuckled, giving you a friendly wink. You were wearing a nicely fitted red dress that fell right above your knees with lace to give it alluring details. You also wore black heels to give you an extra two or so inches.
“Thank you very much.” you blushed, giving him a curt nod. You began to walk away to retrieve a drink from the bar, but it seemed Thor had different plans. He quickly stepped in front of you, halting you in your tracks.
“One more thing!” Thor announced. “I believe my drink requires a refill.” he explained waving his empty bottle almost nervously. You chuckle lightly, wondering why he was telling you this.
“Are you asking me to get you another beer, Odinson?” you snicker. Thor’s eyes widen as he begins to stammer for the right words.
“No, no! My apologies, I’m perfectly capable of getting my own drink. I’d just like for you to join me.” he specified, gesturing towards the bar, awkwardly smiling.
“Oh!” you exclaimed in delight. You felt having your friend to accompany you would help ease your mind. “I’d like that, thank you.” you said as you started to walk. Thor followed closely next to you with a beaming smile.
Everything was going perfectly.
Once you reached the bar you took a seat on one of the tall bar stools. You were scanning the menu when Thor set his empty bottle on the counter before taking a step away from the bar.
“Please excuse me, Lady Y/N. I believe Stark has called for me.” Thor stated quickly. Confused, you turned to look at the large mass of people Tony was talking to. You could’ve sworn Tony hadn’t even paid attention to anything but his guests. Before you could question anything, Thor had already quickly turned to walk the opposite direction. You sighed, turning back towards the bar when you realized there wasn’t even a bartender to tend to you.
“Well this was useless.” you muttered to yourself. As you were about to stand from your seat, Thor’s beer bottle began to shake. You froze, thinking your eyes were just playing tricks on you. Suddenly, a small snake began to crawl out of the bottle and onto the counter. You gasped, jumping from your seat in shock. Surely you were imagining things. The green scaly creature paused to curiously look up at you then turned to slowly slither down the opposite side of the bar. You approached the bar once more, peeking over the top of the counter to search for the snake. Then with a green glow, the snake quickly transformed into the one and only Loki Laufeyson. He simply sighed, brushing off his gorgeously tailored black suit and looked up at you.
“Good evening.” he greeted casually. Your mouth hung open, completely caught off guard at what you had just witnessed.
“Loki, you- how- you aren't supposed to be here!” you stumbled your words in confusion.
“Yes, but was it not you who said I shouldn’t be cooped up in my chambers all day?” Loki snorted playfully. You had no possible way to protest. Instead you resorted to looking around to make sure nobody was looking in your direction. This earned a barely audible groan from Loki. “I presume you wish for me to change back and slither my way back to my room then?” he questioned.
“No!” you declared maybe a little too quickly. “It’s okay, you can stay.” you said trying to remain calm. Loki smiled at how flustered you were, finding it almost amusing.
“Verywell.” he settled calmly. “Now, my lady, may I offer you a drink?” he suggested with a tone that gave you uncontrollable butterflies. You blushed at his offer with a nervous smile.
“I think a red wine will suffice, thank you.” you replied as naturally as you possibly could. Though of course it was a difficult task trying to keep calm. Loki just nodded and turned to prepare your glass. You couldn’t help but look over your shoulder to be sure nobody was watching you. You knew that Stark practically had eyes everywhere, not to mention anybody could easily take a glance at Loki and recognize him from New York. Because of this, you spoke the first thing that came to your mind.
“Loki, we have to get out of here.” you uttered straightforward. He paused pouring your glass of wine to give you a puzzled look. “Tony is bound to realize that you’re here. Plus the bartender could come back at any moment.” you told him, quickly standing to your feet. Loki just nodded before setting the wine bottle down with a slightly disappointed sigh.
“Lead the way then.” Loki said almost in a testing tone. Without another word, the same green glow from earlier masked over his body and changed him back into his serpent form. Loki snaked back into the beer bottle that he had once emerged from, hinting for you to carry him as Thor did. You grabbed the bottle from the counter and turned to walk from the bar. Where you were headed was beyond you. At this point, you were simply just trying to get away from the crowd of people. As you walked, you looked down at the empty beer bottle to be sure Loki sat comfortably in his glass container. He simply looked up at you and poked his tongue out at you in response. As a result of not watching where you were walking, you ended up walking right into a woman’s body, nearly knocking her over. You gasp, taking a step back from the mystery person.
“I am so sorry!” you exclaimed before quickly looking down into the beer bottle to affirm Loki was okay. Though what you were not expecting was a familiar voice to respond to your apologies.
“Well would you look at who it is.” the woman spoke with a chuckle. “You were always quite a clumsy girl.” she remarked. When you looked up to identify the woman, you couldn’t help the gasp that escaped your mouth.
“Alice Weaver!” you exclaimed. You didn’t know who to expect the woman to be, but it certainly wasn’t her. Alice was a girl you had met back in highschool. She had insisted on devoting her teenage years to making yours miserable. It had started when her boyfriend at the time had broken up with her and he attempted to use you as a rebound. Her jealousy for you has been undying ever since.
“It’s so nice to see you again, Y/N!” she grinned, her shrill voice dripping with sarcasm. “How have you been?” she asked.
“I’ve been fine, thanks.” you said, shifting from side to side. You made an attempt to walk past her, but of course she quickly stepped in front of you before you could make any distance.
“Oh good!” she quipped as she looked you up and down. She then caught sight of the beer bottle in your hand. “I never took you for a beer drinker, though.” you panicked a little, hoping she wouldn’t see the small snake hiding inside of it.
“It’s for a friend.” you quickly whipped up an answer. Alice scoffed.
“That’s what they all say, isn’t it?” she questioned, keeping her seemingly sweet smile on display. You gritted your teeth. In all honesty, you were still in shock that she was even here in the first place. “Anyways, I’m sure you’ll be thrilled to hear that I’m actually staying at the compound until tomorrow. I’m here to assist Stark on research.” she went on. You listened in disbelief.
“Research?” you asked plainly, your throat running dry.
“Yes of course, I’m studying engineering and physics.” Alice gushed.
“Wonderful.” you spat as friendly as you could possibly muster. You went to take a step and she walked in front of you yet again.
“Oh, Y/N, shouldn’t you be over there bidding those… pictures?” she said, pointing over towards your stand. “Here, I’ll hold this for you!” she said quickly snatching the beer bottle. You gasped trying your best to grab it back.
“Wait, no! Alice, I need that!” you yelped, struggling to grab the bottle back. You were suddenly pulled back from her, leaving you empty handed.
“Y/N, what the hell are you doing?!” Tony whisper-screamed to you, retracting you from Alice. “I have a group of very unhappy people waiting for you. Now stop bugging my student and do your job.” he exclaimed before softly shoving you towards the small stage. Now you were panicking. Tony Stark and your high school nemesis were in possession of Loki and you couldn’t do a single thing about it. So there you were, nervously walking up onto the stage and turning the microphone on.
“I am so sorry for the delay everyone, I ran into some issues.” you spoke to the crowd nervously. “I suppose I’ve kept you all waiting long enough, let’s get started.” you clapped your hands together, trying to seem as normal as possible. As you continued to speak out towards the crowd, you watched from afar as Tony and Alice continued to talk. You could tell by the way the two kept glancing over at you, they were certainly speaking of your behavior. You shakily sighed, going to grab a painting to exhibit it on the easel. Once you were back in front of the microphone you opened your mouth to speak but was abruptly interrupted when you felt something crawl down the back of your neck, causing you to squeak. This earned a suspicious reaction from the people in the crowd. You quickly recomposed yourself when you heard little snake hisses behind your ear. Loki. You were immensely relieved that he managed to sneak out of the bottle. He must have quickly slithered up your arm and up your back when Alice had grabbed the bottle from you. Although you were beyond grateful for his escape, feeling his cold scales on your bare skin made you shutter. You quickly cleared your throat.
“Excuse me, I just am not myself tonight.” you managed to squeak out. “A-anyways, do we have any takers for this piece?” you stuttered out. As you continued to make biddings for your painting, you could feel Loki leisurely slither down your neck and into the back of your dress. You slightly jumped at feeling Loki enter the back of your dress, making your heart race. “Sold!” you nearly barked out, hoping it would get Loki to cease his crawling. It didn’t. He continued down your dress until he rested over the back of your bra. You began to walk as casual as possible to your next art piece. As you bent down to pick it up you felt Loki crawl to the side of your dress towards the cup of your bra. After picking it up, you subtly brushed your bicep over your side, hoping to halt Loki’s movement. With your luck, this seemed to only spur him on. Loki then made haste to sneak into the cup of your bra, causing you to gasp.
“Can we hurry it up, please?” a very impatient man nagged from the audience. You groaned in response, not entirely sure if it was from the man’s remark or Loki.
“M-my apologies, sir.” you apologized, clearly annoyed yourself. “I guess I just have a chill I can’t seem to shake.” you admitted to the audience, but mostly directed towards the small snake currently resting in your bra. You felt him nestled comfortably against your skin, finally stopping to rest. “Next up is one of my personal favorites. Do we have any takers?” you spoke out to the crowd. You continued the bidding, trying the best you could to ignore the fact that Loki Laufeyson, the God of Mischief was presently relaxed in the cup of your bra as a snake. As you continued speaking, you felt him hiss from time to time causing his small forked tongue to brush the skin of your sternum. You swore it made your breath hitch everytime. This continued until every single piece was presented to its new owner. By the end of the night, you ended up with a large amount of cash though you didn’t seem to care much about that. While you granted the very last person your last painting, Stark approached with a drink in his hand. You whined to yourself upon seeing him. You were far too flustered to even deal with his snarky remarks.
“Congrats, Y/N! You got the job done.” Tony joked. You leered at him, walking off the stage.
“Tony, not now.” you said, trying to walk away.
“Oh don’t be such a sour puss, you got loads of cash.” he continued to provoke. “Hold on, I got one more thing for you.” You felt your body stiffen. You sigh, turning on your heels to face Tony.
“What?” you asked plainly. Tony flashed you a smile as he handed you the drink he had come to you with. Whiskey on ice.
“For you, it’s on the house. Just a ‘thank you’ for tonight.” he said, sounding truly genuine. You couldn’t possibly stay mad at him, even if it was Tony Stark. You took the glass from him and returned the smile.
“You’re welcome.” you smiled. Just as you were about to take a sip of your much deserved reward, you felt Loki abruptly start to move again. He began to creep his way out the side of the cup of your bra, passing into the opposite one. This resulted in a yelp that had been caught in your throat all night, startling Tony.
“Y/N, are you-”
“Loki!”
“What?”
“I have to check on Loki!” you quickly shouted setting the drink down. “H-he’s been in his room all night!” you swiftly made an excuse. Thankfully, your excuse was adequate enough for you to get out of there. You swiftly speed walked to the nearest bathroom avoiding any more interruptions. The quicker you moved, the more agitated you could feel Loki getting. As you made your way to the bathroom you could feel him continue to slither around your bra. Once you finally reached the bathroom you slammed the door shut and pulled the hem of your dress away from your chest.
“OUT!” you screamed. Loki listened, crawling out of your bra and down your leg. Once he reached the floor, his magic glow covered him once more, turning him back into his godly self.
“Well…” he panted, clearly shaken up from how speedy you walked. “Could you have moved any faster?” he nearly growled. You could feel your anger rise and your patience snap.
“How is any of this my fault?!” you shouted at him. “What in the hell were you doing, going into my bra like that?” you asked. Loki rolled his eyes and scoffed.
“Oh my apologies, in case you didn’t notice, I had nowhere else to go!” he snapped back. You loudly groaned as you covered your face with your hands.
“Tonight was a disaster, all thanks to you!” you argued, pointing a finger at him.
“Me?!” he barked, causing his voice to echo throughout the bathroom. You jumped at his sudden loudness. “I put all my efforts in sneaking into this awful party just so I could simply serve you a drink to thank you for your generosity from yesterday.” he spoke loudly, slowly approaching you. His words shocked you. You hadn’t realized that Loki only wanted to attend the event just so he could show you some kindness. Your face fell, almost feeling sorry.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t realize.” you said in a softer tone. Loki remained irritated, taking another big step towards you so there was almost no more space between the two of you. Your breath became ragged.
“Perhaps next time, at least make an attempt to stay calm and keep yourself from squirming.” he requested bitterly.
“You want to speak about squirming?!” your voice raised again. “How about next time, you don’t go into my bra!”
“Oh, don’t be so dramatic.” Loki rolled his eyes. “Your breath betrays you, Midgardian. If I didn’t know any better, the hitch in your throat would tell me that you rather enjoyed it.” he mocked. You could feel your face burn a bright red, embarrassment flooding your emotions.
“Y-you disgust me!” you spat out. Loki snickered almost as if he was purposely trying to provoke you.
“There it is again.” he pointed out. “You get flustered so easily, it’s almost pitiful.” You remained silent, stunned by his remark. He continued to stare at you, his face dangerously close to yours.
“I hate you.” you whispered. What happened next was completely out of your control. Instead of getting anger out of Loki, your statement sparked something uncontrollable. He swiftly grabbed your hips and crashed his lips upon yours, sealing you both in a passionate kiss. Before your mind had time to register what was happening, he pulled away, removing his hands from you completely. He examined your face, searching for any sort of restraint. Realizing what he had just done, he became worrisome.
“My most sincere apologies, I-” you quickly cut him off, pulling him back into yet another searing kiss. Your heart was pounding out of your chest as the kiss grew hungrier. His hands traveled up to your face to pull you in closer, making your breath quicken. Your mind was racing with all sorts of emotions, but you knew one thing was for sure: you didn’t want this moment to ever end. But it did. You both quickly pulled away from each other when the door to the bathroom swung open. Your head snapped to look at whoever entered the bathroom and your heart sank when you realized who it was. Alice Weaver stood at the door, looking both you and Loki up and down. She laughed in disbelief at what she saw in front of her.
“Am I interrupting something?”
