We keep checking every single moment hoping that the person responds.... . We chase people because we feel they have something we dont, or we think life will instantly be better if we have them in our lives... . It is silly when we consider that the future is almost completely unknown and unpredictable... .⠀⠀⠀⠀ Then I thought, what’s even worse than the unknown, is remaining in the same familiar environment that I'm trying to escape. ⠀⠀ .⠀⠀ Think about it... ⠀⠀ .⠀⠀ The routines that we’re used to. Habits we repeat on autopilot. The people we see and talk to regularly. The stress, anxiety, frustration, and all these emotions we feel day-to-day literally become addictive...⠀ .⠀⠀ I’m a huge believer that the best days are ahead of me. But how can I create a better future that transcends my emotions if I’m always feeling negative? ⠀⠀ .⠀⠀ It’s impossible to think greater than we feel. ⠀⠀ .⠀⠀ As hard as I try, I fail miserably every time I try to think about the blessings and gifts of life when I feel stressed about my finances or my future. ⠀⠀ .⠀⠀ Yes, you read that right. I worry about my future EVERY SINGLE DAY... Just like you do. ⠀⠀ . ⠀ It's hard for me to even write this because it cuts so deep to the things I think about everyday. ⠀⠀ . ⠀ But I can't expect to create something better until I feel better. Just think about the words "joy," "gratitude," "peace" without feeling a tinge of those emotions. . .⠀ You can't, right...?? ⠀⠀ . ⠀ To create something better than our present reality, I’m convinced that we need to think and feel differently. ⠀⠀ .⠀⠀ I often experience this loop of worry, which leads to anxiety, which leads to stress—but they are all feelings of the past. It's as if I'm reliving the past over and over again. That to me is even more terrifying. ⠀⠀ .⠀⠀ I can't change something that hasn't happened yet... But I can definitely change the past by the changing the way I look at it... . Peaceful, grateful, joyful… I imagine that’s how I’ll feel when I become the person I’m meant to be.
