Fools - T.N
Tumblr media
in which the only Hufflepuff friend in the group of slytherins develops a crush on Theodore Nott— something only fools do.
fem!hufflepuff reader, bff Pansy, use of euphemisms and teasing yn for being innocent but sfw, reader is very emotional, jealous theo, 2800 words
Tumblr media
"Y/n!!"
After a year, you'd think that people would get used to seeing the same Hufflepuff go over to the Slytherin table, but alas, half the Great Hall turned to watch you approach the table and take a seat next to Pansy.
She sticks her middle finger up behind your back, aiming it at all of the people who are still staring, and they quickly turn away. It was an unlikely friendship, but she was not going to let anyone make you feel bad about it.
"About time you get here," Draco huffs, "I've had to hear Pansy's 'girl talk' while you were sleeping."
You smile sheepishly at him, you had taken your sweet time this morning, hitting snooze a few times before listening to your favorite record and doing more singing than actually getting ready— resulting in you being extra late to breakfast.
"Sorry, Draco."
"Don't apologize yn, he doesn't deserve it."
You can hear the teasing lilt in Theo's voice from across the table, and Draco throws a handful of grapes at him.
"Whatever," Pansy turns her back to them, "did you hear, apparently the Hufflepuff chaser has a crush on you."
Your eyes flit between her face and your hands, and you wonder where she got her information from.
The boys around you seem to perk up at this, and Draco chides Pansy for deeming that piece of information unimportant compared to all her other, much more useless, girl talk this morning.
"Where on Earth did you hear that?" You cut in, not enjoying the way everyone is suddenly interested in your (nonexistent) love life.
"From a very trustworthy source," is all she'll give away, and you cringe.
"Can we change subjects, please?"
Theo narrows his eyes at you, as if he's searching your face for something.
"You don't care about it then? You're not jumping at the chance to ride his broom?"
The Slytherins around you snicker at his euphemism, but you go bright red.
"I- what! Why would you say- no!"
This only makes them laugh harder, but Pansy collects herself enough to place a reassuring hand on your arm.
"Don't worry, we all know our little puff would never."
You slap her hand away, upset at them treating you like a child.
"Well if you guys are only gonna tease me, I'm gonna go back to my own table."
"Y/n, we didn't mean-" Theo starts, but he's still got a smirk on his face, so you ignore him, leaving before he can try and stop you.
You take a seat at your own house table, and the Hufflepuffs around you immediately welcome you into their conversation.
You don't know why it bothered you so much. They were right, you weren't going to be "riding someone's broom" anytime soon, but hearing the way they talked about it— like you were just some silly, innocent baby— really bugged you.
If you were being honest with yourself, you also knew that deep down you've been repressing feelings for Theodore, because you knew enough stories about him to know it would never work. He was a heartthrob, and had no issue finding girls to entertain him at night— to him you were just a little girl. That conversation was just more proof. There's no way he'd be interested in you.
You unintentionally make eye contact with Zacharias Smith when you finally get out of your head, but you immediately look away, turning back to your friends just as Hannah asks about your Christmas plans.
You don't see your Slytherin friends again until Charms class, and Pansy immediately brings up what happened at breakfast.
"Hey, I'm sorry about that. I don't want you to feel bad, that's just how we are."
You give her a tight lipped smile, shrugging your shoulders. You've realized that most of the anger came from the realization that Theo probably saw you as a child, not actually their teasing.
"No biggie, it's forgiven."
She eyes you suspiciously but decides not to question it, instead starting to talk about her next party idea until she gets shushed when Professor Flitwick starts explaining directions.
You use the quiet moment to sneak a look at Theo, who's leaned back in his chair smirking at something Draco said next to him.
Pansy turns to you and you quickly shift your focus, but it appears she's already seen you. She gives you a raised eyebrow, and you play dumb, looking back at the teapot on your desk and trying to give it legs.
"What was that about back there?" Pansy asks as the two of you walk out together.
"I know it took me forever to get those stupid legs," you cringe, hoping to throw her off course.
"No I meant your staring."
You try not to look guilty, just shrugging your shoulders and explaining, "figured the boys might have figured it out faster. Should have known better."
She grins at that, muttering "you really should have." But something tells you she doesn't quite believe your story.
Your thoughts are only confirmed the next day when she invites you over to her dorm and then immediately suggests the two of you take veritaserum to play a game of truth or dare.
You let out a sigh.
"I'm not doing that Pans, just ask me whatever you want to know."
She grins, "you know me so well."
"Unfortunately," you tease, and she slaps your arm but asks her question anyway.
"Do you have a crush on Draco?"
Her face drops into confusion when you start laughing hysterically.
"That's what you thought? Merlin, you had me scared for no reason. No Pans, I absolutely do not have a crush on Draco."
She lets out a small sigh of relief, but you can tell she's a little peeved you laughed at her.
"Well what was I supposed to think? You got all grumpy yesterday when we were teasing you about your love life, and then the staring. It was either that or you're secretly in love with Nott, which, lets be for real."
She leaves it at that, but your cheeks flush pink. Be for real what? Be for real, he'd never want you? Be for real, what universe would the two of you work out? Be for real, he hates you?
The thoughts keep coming one after another, and suddenly your vision is blurred.
"Hey, woah, what's wrong?"
You cursed Pansy for being so observant.
"Nothing, I think my allergies are acting up." You say, but there's sadness in your voice, and there's an inch of snow outside, which isn't exactly pollen friendly.
"Don't lie to me y/n."
"I'm sorry for being so stupid and emotional." You cry, and Pansy rubs your back slowly.
"Hey, there's nothing wrong with being emotional! You don't see us do it much, but a lot of that's got to do with how we were raised. I wish I felt things as deeply as you do."
Your tears seem to slow, and she smiles.
"Now as for stupid, that depends on where that fit came from."
You look up at her in embarrassment, more hot tears threatening to fill your eyes.
"I... what did you mean?" You ask instead.
"Huh?"
"When you said be for real about me secretly being.." you couldn't bring yourself to say it, as if saying the words would make it true and something you could no longer push away and pretend wasn't there.
Realization dawns on Pansy's face, and she immediately wraps you up in a hug.
"Oh yn, it all makes sense now."
You continue to cry, and she looks at you with what you assume is pity in her eyes.
"I know, I'm such a fool! I know it would never happen, I know half of Hogwarts has a crush on him, I know he'd never want a girl like me." All of the things you'd been keeping to yourself and secretly thinking come spilling out of your mouth, and Pansy rubs your back while you continue to cry.
"Hey don't talk like that! Theo doesn't care about those people, and I know he cares about you. Not to mention, "a girl like you"? You're the exact type of girl that Theo needs. He practically never smiles the way he does when you're around. Just calm down okay?"
You nod through your cries, finally settling down as Pansy throws a magazine at you and the two of you lay across her bed.
Unknowingly, you end up falling asleep, tired from the amount of crying you did. Pansy notices but decides not to wake you, heading down to the common room where the guys would be getting back from quidditch practice soon.
When you wake up the room is dark, and a quick looks around reminds you you're in Pansy's room and not your own. You check the bathroom attached to the dorm, and when no one is in there you head down to the common room, assuming that's where she's gone to.
The whole group is sat on leather couches and armchairs when you make it down the stairs, and you rub the sleep out of your eyes as you approach the group.
"There's our assonnata bella," Theodore purrs, and you immediately flush even though you only understand half of his phrase. (sleeping beauty)
"Sorry for falling asleep." You apologize as you take the seat Pansy offered you, coincidentally landing between her and the reason for your crying.
"Stop apologizing so much," Theo whispers in your ear, and you refuse to look at him in fear of him seeing exactly the effect he has on you. Instead you continue to look at Pansy.
"No biggie, you needed it after that." She says, and you nod.
"After what? What happened?" Draco asked, ever the nosy weasel.
Pansy looked at you, obviously waiting for you to answer so she could go along with whatever you say.
You consider lying, but figure there's no point. They all know you're an emotional person, no one would find it unusual.
"I- uh- cried a little bit. Tired me out."
The boys (that you can see) all nod their heads in understanding and decide to switch topics, finally letting you relax.
However, since you'd turned your back to Theo, that now meant when you leaned back to get comfy you leaned directly into his chest, as he had one arm on the back of the couch behind you.
"Oh I'm so sorry!" You whisper, shooting back up and speaking only to him in an attempt to not draw attention from the others.
"Don't be silly," he says back, pulling your shoulders so you're back in the relaxed position against him, "you're welcome in my arms any day ragazza dolce." (Sweet girl)
You flush red again, but this time you do look up at him, a teasing glint in your eyes.
"You know I have absolutely no idea what you're saying, right?"
He grins, "that's part of the fun."
"Whatever," you turn back away from him to look at the group, your head resting right over his heart, "as long as you're not calling me a troll."
"I promise I'm not." He says, ruffling your hair before the both of you rejoin the main conversation.
"Zacharias Smith was at our practice today," Draco tells Pansy, and she looks at him in surprise.
"Really? Maybe he was looking for yn. She does sometimes keep me company in the stands."
"Oh he definitely was." Blaise smirks, and you feel Theo tense behind you. "Walked right up to Theo and asked where the pretty little one we're always hanging out with was."
"What?" Pansy shrieks, looking over, although you're unsure if the intentional target was you or the boy behind you. Her eyes momentarily widen at seeing your position before she notices something and smirks.
"Theo," she drawls, "I didn't notice those cuts on your knuckles earlier, is that new?"
Everyone turns to look at Theo, and you sit up in alarm, turning to look at his hand that's laying behind your spot on the couch.
"Theo! What happened? Why didn't you go get this checked out?"
He averts his eyes from your gaze. "Just wasn't thinking about it," he shrugs.
You frown. "How could you not be thinking about it, that looks painful!"
He shrugs again, grimacing when you grab his hand, insisting he let you heal it.
"Just let me go get my wand okay? I left it in Pansy's room."
You get up to leave, and with your back turned you don't see Pansy whisper to Theo and then him get up and follow you.
"I'll just come with." He announces, following you back to your friends room.
You try not to think about the intimacy of being alone with Theo while you tend to his wounds, trying once again to shove all your feelings down far in your heart.
Thankfully none of Pansy's roommates had come back, and Theo sits on her bed while you grab your wand from her nightstand before standing in between his spread legs.
"Give me your hand."
He complies, and you try not to blush at the warmth of his, much bigger, hand resting on your own.
"This is nasty Theo, did you punch a wall or something?" You ask, beginning to heal a few of the cuts. Luckily most of them were clean from where he'd washed them when he showered after practice, but they were scabbed over and his knuckles were blue with beginning to form bruises.
He lets out an amused huff of laughter and you stop your ministrations, looking up at him immediately.
"Tell me you didn't actually punch a wall."
He shrugs, "it was either that or Smith, and I know you don't like when I get into fights."
You feel yourself heat up. He didn't hit someone because of your preference, and the person just happened to be the guy who supposedly has a crush on you.
"Well I'm glad you didn't send my housemate to the hospital wing at least, although I wish you wouldn't have hurt yourself," you sigh, continuing to heal his hands.
Out of nowhere he pulls it away.
"Theo?"
"Look, I-" he cards a hand through his hair, contemplating his next words. "I didn't like it that Smith came looking for you. Especially that he asked me."
You look at him in confusion, "what? Why?"
He looks distraught, but he can't help the crooked smile that etches itself on his face.
"You're damn oblivious, you know that?"
You continue to look at him, no thoughts behind your eyes.
"Uh, I mean I guess? I've been told that a few times, though I'm not sure how it's pertinent to this situation."
Suddenly Theo's hands are on your cheeks, and his face is inches from your own.
"What- what are you doing?"
"I want to kiss you." He states plainly, as if it's the most normal thing in the world— as if the five words didn't have you spiraling out of control.
"Wait- do you want to kiss me because you think I'm like pretty or do you want to kiss me because you like me?"
You'd never even thought he would consider you pretty, but at his words you had to rethink a lot of things you thought you knew.
"I like you, amorina." (Little love)
"Really?" You know you should be celebrating, but you can't help the doubt that creeps into your mind. "You don't think I'm a silly, innocent, little Hufflepuff?"
He grins, "you can be my silly little Hufflepuff. And no I don't care that you're not jumping at the opportunity to go broom hopping."
You can't help but laugh a his phrasing, but you're glad he knew what you meant.
"I like you, amorina, I don't care about anything else, as long as I get you."
You smile, and Theo swears he could die happy if it's the last thing he sees.
"Well in that case, I want you to kiss me too."
He can barely hold back his own smile as he places his lips on yours, cradling your jaw with one hand while the other holds your hip.
He kissed you gently, not at all like what you'd expected, but you feel his adoration flowing out of it, and you can't help but break it to let out a giggle.
"And to think I was crying over you a few hours ago."
He grins, standing up and grabbing your hand to walk back down to the common room together, where your friends were waiting for you to go to dinner.
"No more crying over me okay?"
You nod your head, and he pulls you in for one more kiss before you rejoin the rest of your friends.

Hyunjin: Age-Restricted (Part Eighteen)
Tumblr media
Characters: Hyunjin x female reader (ft other skz members)
Genre/warnings: nanny!reader, ex-porn star/neighbor!hyunjin, generally inexperienced and painfully shy virgin!reader, fluff, humor, mentions of porn and sex work, hyunjin is stupid in love and also has a thing for tall girls (it doesn't necessarily say reader is taller than him but he does beg her to wear heels so interpret that how you want), hyunjin is very much not straight, lots and lots of flirting and teasing, mentions of kinks and stuff but no smut happens sorry <;3 (minors dni!!!)
Word count: 6,074
Summary: You think it’s luck when the new family you nanny for is so stupid rich that they rent you a fancy new apartment just so you can live closer to them. You think it’s luck when the guy across the hall is the most beautiful person you’ve ever seen in your entire life and makes an effort to talk to you. But that’s just about where your luck runs out, because Hyunjin is more out of your league than you could ever imagine, and you’re just some hopeless virgin who never had good luck in the first place.

He knew you’d have questions. Hyunjin expected nothing less, but you made sure to tell him you were curious but would only ask questions if he was comfortable with it. Considering you found out everything about him when he’d ended things, you never really got a chance to ask him anything. But he was 100% okay with answering any question you had, and he planned on being fully open and honest.
That first night that Hyunjin apologized, he was fully prepared to go home alone, but you told him he could stay. Even if you were mad still, you missed him. And that was where your questioning started.
“So then how did you get into porn?” was your first question, and it was the one he expected to be first.
He had gone to his apartment to change into clothes to sleep in, and the two of you were laying in your bed, inhumanly close. You missed each other and he didn’t know how to tell you that he still didn’t feel close enough even with your entire body on top of his without sounding weird.
“Changbin,” he stated simply.
“So you both got into porn when he said he was gonna do it?” you assumed.
He nodded, “I also really needed money, aaaaand I was basically going nowhere. I really liked art and I wanted to be an artist, but getting into that industry is fucking hard, so I just…went for porn. It was pretty easy for anyone to get into, anyway – at least in that area of Vegas. There were so many sleazeballs looking for amateurs.”
“So how’d it go in the beginning?”
“Honestly, shockingly well,” he scoffed. “I don’t mean to, like, sound like I’m bragging, but I kind of took off almost instantly. Directors and producers and shit were saying I just had the perfect face and a good body, and everyone wanted to have me in their videos. It was actually really overwhelming, but I needed all the money I could get so I just ran with it.”
“That actually sounds kind of terrifying,” you nodded.
“Oh, I think you would’ve gone into shock and died,” he nodded along with you.
You narrowed your eyes at him and he just grinned.
“Anyway,” you stated.
“Anyway,” he laughed.
“What about Changbin?”
“He was only a little salty that I was getting more jobs than him, but he worked his way up there. Plus, I paid most of our rent so he couldn’t complain that much.”
You suddenly realized something, letting out a gasp, “Wait, were you the mutual friend that got him and Kit together?”
“Yup.”
“What happened?!” you squealed.
“‘Kay, so as I said, I got popular fast. I caught the attention of bigger producers and directors who worked with bigger names. Big names like…”
“Kat Valentyne,” you finished, saying her name with pizazz and doing spirit fingers to really sell her porn name.
He laughed and rolled his eyes, his laugh making you shake as you laid face-down on top of him, “She’s been a big name almost since she started. Word got out to the people she went to school with that she got hot and was in porn, so it got spread around along with old photos of her, so it kinda made headlines online.
“But anyway, I got cast in a scene opposite her, and I knew–”
“Hang on a minute,” you interrupted him, and that was when he realized what he’d just given away. “So you mean to tell me that you fucked Kit?”
He was quick to point a finger at you and look you dead in the eyes, “I never had feelings for her and I still don’t. Never will.”
“No, Hyunjin–” you sighed and shook your head. “You’re telling me that you were mad that she only flirted with me and looked at me a certain way, but you already had sex with her?! That’s not even fair!”
All he did in response was roll his eyes before continuing, “Anyway, so I knew Changbin had a fat fucking crush on her since forever, so I figured I’d throw his name out there. I showed her a couple photos of him and she thought he was cute aaaaand yeah. Rest is history.”
“I still can’t believe you got mad when you had sex with Kit…” you mumbled.
“Are you even upset that I had sex with her or just that I got jealous over her?”
“I know it was your job,” you scoffed, waving away his concern. “I trust you. I mean, she’s also dating your best friend.”
“I also just don’t want to date her,” he added.
“But how come you get to fuck her, but god forbid she look at me the wrong way?” you huffed.
“I think it’s suddenly bedtime,” he told you before he pulled the covers up over your head, and then rolled over on top of you.
“Hwang Hyunjin!” you squealed between laughs.
“Can’t hear you, goodnight!”
-
Hyunjin wanted to do the proper thing: take you on a fancy date. And what better way to do that than using your ex-boss’ certificate to go to that fancy restaurant? It seemed like a very fitting way to celebrate the two of you making up.
Unfortunately, the only fancy thing you owned was your old prom dresses, so that meant shopping.
As far as you could tell, Hyunjin would be an expert at fancy. While you mostly ever saw him in t-shirts and sweatshirts – you had still seen him in other clothes like jeans, button-ups, and such – they were always expensive. So he must’ve owned fancy clothing, right? He must’ve known what rich people considered acceptable since clearly the dude was loaded.
You were pretty sure you’d never seen someone look so goddamn good in just some black jeans and a baggy button-up shirt with one half tucked in, but Hyunjin was just another level. You were wondering if he was even human, actually. Maybe he was actually an android or something.
“You’re staring,” he noted as you watched him brush through his dark hair before leaving the apartment.
“Yeah,” you nodded.
He just laughed, eyes turning into crescent moons.
You missed his smile.
While you were browsing through clothes at a store you felt far too out of place in, Hyunjin mentioned, “Pick out whatever you like. I’ll cover it.”
“Um, no?” you turned around to tell him. “You’re already paying for my apartment – which, by the way, still stop.”
“I can afford it, don’t worry about it,” he promised, waving the worry away.
Which then sparked more questions about him.
“Did you just make a ton of money back then?” you wondered.
He shrugged, “More than most. I did save most of it, but– …Actually, we’ll talk more in the car. I gotta take you somewhere for you to get it.”
“Get what?”
“It.”
You made a face at him and rolled your eyes before going back to looking at dresses, “So, uh…what’s considered…fancy?”
“Do you want form fitting or more flowy?” he asked as he started perusing the racks as well.
“Do you also want to pay for my shapewear?” you asked sarcastically.
He shrugged, “If you think you need it, I’ll buy whatever you want.”
You frowned, obviously not happy with his answer. But again, he grinned back at you.
-
Dress and shoes acquired, you were back in Hyunjin’s car, driving to an unknown location. All he’d said was, “I’m gonna show you something.”
You didn’t plan on getting shoes, but Hyunjin was quick to ask after picking out a dress if you had any shoes for the occasion. You’d said something about wanting to find just a cute pair of flats, but Hyunjin turned to face you with wide eyes.
“Please wear heels,” he begged, clinging onto your arms for dear life.
“I never wear heels,” you told him. “I’ll be too tall.”
“No you won’t,” he stated very seriously. “Wear. Heels.”
You did end up getting a pair of heels that you were totally not persuaded to get due to the fact you were very positive that Hyunjin found it hot when you were taller. As if he wouldn’t have bought them for you anyway because he liked how you looked in them. If the way he eyed you up and down and almost drooled on the marbled floor was any indication.
“Soooo,” Hyunjin began, one hand on the wheel and the other resting on your thigh, “have you ever noticed anything in my apartment?”
“Are we talking about the mirrors?” you asked.
“You need to get past the mirrors, baby.”
“So that’s a no. What was I supposed to notice?”
He chuckled, “Maybe something on the walls…?”
“Art!” you gasped, recalling the times you’d been over and noticed that large canvases were always evenly spaced across the walls of the hallway, and a few were put in his living room and his kitchen.
He nodded, “Very good. What about the art?”
“It’s…there!” you pointed out, much less enthusiastically. “It’s on the walls!”
Thank god he was stopped at a stop sign because he looked at you with an unamused look for a painfully long time.
“Hyunjin, when have I ever had time to sit in your apartment and look at the art?” you asked him, trying to prove a point. “We were usually in your bedroom, and even when we were on the couch, we were cuddling and watching something or laying down and watching something, or we weren’t even watching anything because we were doing other things!”
He scoffed with a wide smile and asked, “You can’t even say making out? You have to say ‘other things’?”
“What about the art, Hyunjin?” you asked sharply, wanting him to move on from the route he was about to take.
After a bit of laughing, Hyunjin replied, “Most of the art has the same signature.”
“That’s so interesting,” you deadpanned, still not getting it.
You also weren’t paying attention to where he was driving, but he finally pulled into a lot outside of what looked like another apartment building. He put the car in park and pulled out the key before he looked at you again. Again, he was unamused.
He eyed you up and down before noting, “You’ve gotten more sassy, huh?”
“I’m not trying to be, I just don’t understand!”
“Come on, babydoll,” he patted your thigh before he got out of the car. “I’ll show you.”
He took you into the building and into an elevator. You noted that he stuck a silver key from his keyring into a keyhole in the elevator, turned it, and pressed the button for the top floor. You and Hyunjin waited side-by-side at the back of the elevator. He was on his phone while you were watching the numbers on the LED screen above the doors.
“Have you talked to Kit or Changbin?” you asked him.
“They know everything,” he nodded, still not looking up from his phone. He assumed you were asking because you wanted to know if they were caught up. “I told them after you fell asleep last night.”
“After I was suffocated,” you corrected.
“Don’t be dramatic,” he scoffed, finally looking at you to smirk.
“Oh, says you of all people.”
“Touché.”
Finally, the elevator dinged, and the doors opened. The top floor seemed to be a penthouse, but it was all open space with large windows all on the back wall. The rest of the walls were exposed brick and covered in half-finished and fully-finished paintings. Scattered around the space were easels that either held canvases, white stained drapes, or nothing at all. There were a handful of stools around the area, and lots of art supplies. There were two large desks on either side of the room, with more art supplies and sketchbooks and canvases.
“Since we’re being completely open and honest now,” Hyunjin smiled at you, gesturing with an arm to the space while he guided you in with the other around your waist, “welcome to my studio. This is how I’ve made so much money.”
You looked at him, eyes bugging out of your head, “What, you’re some huge artist?”
He pointed at a painting that seemed to be finished, leaning up against the wall as it stood on the floor.
“There’s the signature. On most of the ones at home.”
You walked over and bent down to get a closer look. It looked mostly like a bunch of scribbles, but you could make out a large S and a large H.
“No offense, but what does it say?” you ask. “There’s no S in your name.”
“Sam Hyun,” he replied. “When I lived in Vegas, I went by Sam Hwang, and my name is Hyunjin. I combined the two.”
You turned around to face him again, head tilting slightly to one side as you studied him, “You actually do look like a Sam…”
He shrugged, “Thanks, I think.”
“It’s a good thing. Sam’s not an ugly name, y’know? You could’ve been something ugly like…Frank. Or you could’ve been a Kyle.”
He gave you a strangle look as he chuckled, “What’s wrong with Kyle? It’s a common name, no?”
“Kyle itself is a red flag,” you stated knowingly.
“Would you still love me if my name was Bartholomew?” he asked suddenly with a giggle.
“Fuck no,” you replied immediately.
“Just take a fucking guess what Changbin almost made his stage name.”
You gasped, “You’re kidding.”
“He’s so fucking lucky we went back to Vegas for our first auditions because he met one of my old buddies names Xavior and thought his name sounded cool, so he used that as his stage name instead. But he was dead set on Batholomew.”
“Why?” you asked with a disgusted face.
“His mind works in mysterious ways,” he shrugged.
“So…Kat Valentyne and Xavior…something?” you asked.
“Xavior Chang,” he scoffed. “He couldn’t come up with a second name but he didn’t want to copy me and use just one – even though I told him I didn’t think he was copying me, but whatever. But honestly, after the movie with him and Kit, she kept slipping up and calling him Binnie so now that’s basically all he’s known as now.”
You nodded slowly as you started to look around the large space. Hyunjin just stood and watched you, hands in his pockets.
“So…how did you come up with Sam Hyun?” you wondered. “Why not just use your name?”
“Because I was in porn and I was afraid of ever being connected back to it,” he explained. “Anyone could google my stage name and find out my real one. With being an artist, I wanted absolutely everything to be separated from what I was doing during the day. Nobody had a face to the art, either. Sam Hyun is untraceable. As far as anyone knows, Sam Hyun is my real name. Separate from Hwang Hyunjin, and therefore, separate from Jin.”
“So…you’re like Banksy.”
“Yeah, like Banksy.”
“So how’d it happen, then? The switch between porn and art?”
“I was doing art at the same time, but more as a hobby. I kind of gave up when it never took off. But one day, out of nowhere, I got really lucky. Something I made got noticed at a show by some big name and they offered a lot more than it should’ve been worth, honestly,” he laughed like he still couldn’t believe it. “That just kinda…put my name on the map, I guess. And once I had that break, I left the industry and focused full-time on this.”
A small smile broke on your face as you looked at him, “That’s kinda sweet. You get to do the thing you actually love.”
He nodded, “I got very lucky. Still am very lucky.” he added the last part with a warm, happy half-smile at you, just looking at you with the most lovesick expression anyone had ever seen.
You started looking around again, wandering between easels and canvases, looking around at everything Hyunjin had made. You never knew he could draw, but fuck, was he talented. It was mostly people and a handful of scenery pieces thrown in there, but everything you saw was so insanely good.
You hadn’t noticed Hyunjin had wandered over behind you as you studied a seemingly random couple he’d drawn, their bodies filled in with a watercolor sunset, until he softly asked, “Do you wanna see something?”
You looked at him to silently say you were paying attention to whatever he wanted to show you, and he guided you over to an easel that was covered by a white drape. It was obvious that there was a large canvas underneath, but you weren’t going to uncover anything that was covered. That would be rude.
Hyunjin reached up to gently pull the sheet off so as to not knock over the painting. Your mouth fell open as your eyes widened in awe, seeing the portrait of you and Hyunjin. It was done in the same exact style as the piece you were just looking at – just the messy-on-purpose black outline from the shoulders up, and being filled in with warm tones that blended together – but this was very clearly supposed to be you and Hyunjin staring deeply at each other. Your lips were only inches apart as one of his hands cupped your cheek, looking at you with his signature smirk, but even in a picture, he was able to capture the way he looked at you like you were the entire universe. And you looked back at him in a way that very much mimicked how you looked at the piece: in pure awe. Your eyes were wide and your lips were parted, your hand holding lightly onto his arm just a couple inches down from his wrist. The colors used to fill in your bodies were similar to the first painting but the reds, yellows, and oranges were put in different spots. It was somehow more pleasing, but maybe you were being biased.
“The one you were just looking at was based off of this,” Hyunjin explained to you softly. “I made this one a while ago, but when things got…really shitty between us, I tried to replicate it to sell it. As you could probably tell, I gave up. Wasn’t as good as the original.”
“Holy shit, Hyunjin,” you breathed, unable to take your eyes off of it.
“If you think this is insane, you should see my most recent sketchbook,” he chuckled. “You’d probably think I’m a psycho.”
Your eyebrows furrowed as you realized what he’d said before, looking back at him, “Were you going to sell this?”
He scoffed, “Absolutely not. I was gonna keep it, but I like the style of it and thought it would sell well. But this is priceless – even if it’s half a self portrait.”
You frowned at him and lightly whacked him in the stomach, making him laugh, “You’re literally a God, you freak.”
“Yeah, well,” he sighed as he draped an arm casually around your shoulder, “you really are your own biggest critic. Drawing myself took the longest fucking time.”
“You definitely look at me like that,” you promised, pointing at him on the portrait. “And I definitely look lost all the time like that.”
“You’re not lost,” he scoffed again, rolling his eyes. “I’m literally right there.”
You started laughing, “That was stupid cheesy.”
“The cheese gets worse, don’t worry,” he promised with a smirk as he started to lead you over to one of the tables. He brought you to a closed sketchbook that looked much less beat-up than the other ones. “This is my newer sketchbook. I got it a little bit before I met you, actually.”
He gently pushed you forward to stand at the table and open it. You flipped it open and started going through it slowly, seeing him use different mediums to make different things. It was mostly people – people you’d never seen before, but a couple that you’d seen at The Brooke. But after about 5 pages, you flipped the next page to see you, holding a moving box. It was a charcoal sketch from your thighs up, and it was only somewhat shaded. But it was very clearly you, laughing as you carried the cardboard box.
The next page was you again, but from the side, and only from your shoulders up. Your expression was neutral and you seemed to be looking at something. The next page was, again, you, smiling with your eyes closed. The next page was you, and the next, and the next, and the next.
“I like to draw people that I see,” he explained. “Clearly, I saw you once and couldn’t get you out of my head. I’ve drawn you a lot since I’ve met you.”
You kept flipping, and every single page was you. But then you got to the last few sketches in the book, and you only looked sad. You looked disheveled or upset. There was even one of you with tears on your cheeks with your eyes casted down.
“I kinda never stopped drawing you,” he admitted quietly. “Even when I was mad at you, I still thought about you all the time.”
There were a couple drawings of you scattered in the sad ones where you looked happy again, and it tugged at your heart. Even when you were both upset, Hyunjin seemed to still think of you when you were happy, like he wanted to see it again.
The last 10 pages or so were still blank, so you closed the sketchbook again and turned to face Hyunjin, cheeks feeling hot from seeing how often he drew you. He could tell you were flustered and grinned widely at you.
“I’m pretty cute, huh?” he asked with a modest shrug.
“How come I never knew you could draw?” you asked him, poking his chest with your finger.
“Changbin and Kit have seen me doodle on stuff here and there, but they don’t know about all this,” he explained. “This is top secret. Nobody knows about it because I don’t want there being any possible ties between Sam Hyun and Jin, y’know? They’re both me, but nobody else knows they are. I want to make sure it stays that way. But since we’re working on honesty, I figured you’d be a good first person to tell.”
You nodded, “I won’t say a word.”
“I’ll make sure you don’t,” he promised with a mischievous grin before he leaned in and pressed his lips to yours.
-
You’d never seen Hyunjin dress up before, but boy did he dress up. There was a lot of black, but a lot of chains and silver and mesh. Everything just looked expensive and extravagant, and despite having Hyunjin help you pick out what to wear earlier that day, you somehow felt severely underdressed beside him.
Despite that, the way Hyunjin looked at you made you feel like the best looking person at the restaurant. When you first got dressed and you were doing your makeup in his bathroom, he was sitting on the counter by where your makeup was spread out, going between looking at his phone and glancing up at you with a soft smile.
But when you put on the heels, he was gone. His eyes only left you so he could drive, but he kept stealing glances. He looked at you probably the way you looked at him. Like you were God and had descended down in front of him. You weren’t even sure if you’d make it to the restaurant because you were almost positive there were a couple times he almost passed out.
“You’re oddly quiet now,” Hyunjin mused as he looked over the menu with you – he had to help you with some things because you’d never had a lot of the food they offered. It was all fancy stuff with big words.
You glanced away from the words that didn’t even seem like real words to look at him, “What do you mean?”
“You’ve rambled off so many questions today and now you’re dead silent,” he chuckled. “Feeling okay?”
You felt your cheeks warm a bit as you mumbled, “I’m not gonna ask those questions out in public, Hyunjin.”
He chuckled and rolled his eyes, “Oh, as if anyone is listening to us. They’re all talking about business and nannies and vacations and shit that’s important to rich people. Dates are meant for talking to get to know each other. You should feel comfortable asking me anything.”
You knew he was right about dates being made for getting to know each other, but you still felt nervous to ask questions about sex and porn where people might hear it. What if some rich person overheard and thought you were weird and got you kicked out?
It took a couple minutes of silent internal encouragement, but you finally asked in almost a whisper, “What…kind did you do…?”
His laugh was louder than your words but nobody seemed to notice, “Both. Gay and straight. Does that bother you?”
You shrugged like he told you it was a little cloudy outside, “Not really. I mean, unless you prefer guys, in which case, that would make me kinda insecure probably.”
“My preference is you, dummy,” he told you with a playful smile.
“I meant…sex-wise,” your voice got quieter on the last word, which made Hyunjin laugh again.
“No preference there.”
“Okay, maybe this is a dumb question–”
“No dumb questions.”
“Sure. How did you, like…not fall in love with every single person? I get it’s mostly acting and stuff but that’s some serious acting. I would be convinced everyone actually loved me and cared about me and would catch feelings everyday.”
“I learned how to separate my feelings from my work,” he explained. “To me, sex was just sex, and my feelings were basically shut off when I was doing it. But that was only when I was working. It’s different with you.”
“We’ve never…done that,” you reminded him.
“I mean with everything else. We’ve done other stuff. Unless you forgot about that when we were mad at each other,” he smirked.
“Trust me, Hyun, I remember,” you promised.
“Are you sure?” he asked, his smirk growing and making you feel things you did not want to feel in the middle of a restaurant full of a bunch of important and rich people. “Because I don’t mind jogging your memory.”
-
Despite the first conversation at the restaurant, the rest of the date was the most romantic experience you’d ever had. You were starting to learn that despite Hyunjin’s line of work and claiming he could turn off his feelings, he was a true hopeless romantic – not that you didn’t know before, but now it was painfully obvious. He ordered for you, held open doors for you, and asked a lot of questions about you. The two of you had already caught up on new happenings since you last spoke, but now Hyunjin was asking you questions about your future. What field were you going to look for a job in? Have you considered going to school for something? How did you get into nannying in the first place? Did that mean you wanted kids?
You learned more about him, other than just his previous job. You learned more about his friendship with Changbin, his life in Las Vegas, and everything outside and in between. How he got out of the industry and how he found himself living at The Brooke and befriending the two bellhops who worked the night shift. More about his early life pre-porn and even some stories from his life while he was in that industry, but about stuff that was separate from it.
You felt like the whole time, his eyes never left yours. You weren’t even sure if he ever looked down while eating his food to see what he was picking up with his utensils, but his plate was cleared by the end of the date.
To be fair, you weren’t sure of many things because Hyunjin kept refilling your wine glass whenever it was empty. He got some fancy bottle brought to the table in an ice bucket and while it was meant to share, you weren’t sure if he had any of it or if you’d drank the whole thing. You saw him with a glass but then you were too lost in his eyes to notice much else. When his stare got too much and you felt nervous like you had to look away, you looked down at your own food instead of focusing on whatever he was doing.
Back in the car, Hyunjin drove with a hand on your thigh and the other on the wheel. Despite your tipsy state and him teasing you about forgetting the things you’d done together, he was being a complete gentleman. The most he’d done was just then as his warm palm rested on the exposed skin of your leg.
“I have a follow-up question,” you announced suddenly between Hyunjin humming along with the music.
“Yes, angel?”
“Can you elaborate on the ‘sex without feelings’ thing?” you asked.
He chuckled and glanced at you, “How long have you been thinking about this?”
“Just now. Just going over stuff in my head, y’know?”
“How much wine have you had, my love?” he continued to laugh.
“Whatever you didn’t drink, I did,” you stated surely.
After his laughter had died down, though, he replied, “The people I worked with, I never had romantic feelings for. When I was starting out, it happened a couple times until I learned. I had a couple…situationships, I suppose during my time in the industry, and I didn’t try to disassociate from my feelings because obviously they were supposed to be relationships. But with them, it always felt like they were trying so hard to make it like a scene that I just auto-blocked it all out anyway. It kinda sucked.”
Your eyes widened slightly as you looked over at Hyunjin, “That doesn’t happen now, right?”
“Absolutely not, angel,” he looked back at you with a soft smile before looking back at the road. “With you, everything is so much better than any sex I’ve ever had. Feelings really do make it. I actually get turned on and everything feels more intense. It just feels… I don’t know how to explain it other than everything is better because there’s feelings. I can’t not feel things for you, _____.”
“Awww,” you giggled as your cheeks began to warm. “Shut the fuck up, you’re too cute.”
“Not to say,” he quickly added, “if you did want to do anything a little…raunchier in the future, that I would hate it. I think in that case, it would be okay because the feelings are still there. It was just with those people, they made it seem like they only saw me as Jin and not Hyunjin, if that makes sense.”
You nodded, “No, I get that. That does make me feel better, though."
 The two of you fell into a comfortable silence for another moment until you thought of another question, shyly asking, "So, um…what’re you…into…?”
You could see the smirk growing on his face as the streetlamps flooded through the windshield as he drove, “I’ll do just about anything if that’s what you’re asking.”
“But what are you personally into?” you pressed curiously, though you were sure Hyunjin would be able to tell how flustered you were. “Like, if you didn’t have to worry about your partner.”
“Hair pulling,” was his immediate response. “I love having my hair pulled.”
You eyed his hair as it currently was. He kept it on the long-ish side and it was almost always half-up. Even in the one video of his you saw, his hair was at his shoulders.
“Yeah, that math adds up,” you nodded. “I think you like dirty talking, too.”
He let out a laugh as he glanced between you and the road, “What’s that supposed to mean?”
You were smiling, too, because of his laugh as you replied, “You would always talk a lot to me. You’re just really vocal.”
“You react well when I do talk to you,” he pointed out before he leaned over toward you, his lips almost brushing your ear. “You like the dirty talk, _____.”
A shiver went down your spine as he pulled away, and you were pretty sure Hyunjin noticed from the way his smirk widened and his chest quickly rose and fell like he scoffed. But he didn’t say anything about it, and you were too shy to confirm or deny. So he went back to quietly humming along to his music.
-
Both Felix and Jeongin were behind the counter when you and Hyunjin returned back to The Brooke. When you left that evening, it was only Jeongin who was punching in for work and making a comment about how dolled up the two of you were. When you came strolling into the empty lobby with your hands intertwined, Felix’s jaw was just about on the floor as Jeongin started smirking.
“Nice to see the two of you still look presentable,” the younger boy noted. “I thought for sure Hyunjin was gonna pounce at some point.”
“I don’t blame him,” Felix choked out a laugh as he started to regain his composure. “Either of you. You both look incredible.”
Your face had already been warm from the wine and Hyunjin’s compliments, but Felix made it feel hotter, “Thanks.”
“What’s the occasion?” he wondered.
“Make up date,” Hyunjin stated, stopping at the front desk to chat with them. “We went somewhere nice for free, thanks to _____’s asshole ex-bosses.”
Jeongin nodded, “You love to see it.”
“Now,” Hyunjin released your hand to place his hands on your shoulders, “I need to get this one to bed since she drank almost an entire bottle of wine by herself.”
“You kept pouring!” you insisted.
“But you kept drinking,” he countered with a playful grin.
“You can’t start gaslighting her when you just got back together,” Jeongin told him with a sigh and a shake of his head.
“But it’s official now,” Hyunjin pointed out with a wide grin that made his eyes crinkle.
Felix nodded in understanding, “Oh, then it’s totally okay now.”
“See ya later, guys!” he chirped as he turned you and started leading you toward the elevators.
“Don’t be too loud, please!” Jeongin laughed after the two of you. “I don’t feel like getting a ton of noise complaints tonight!”
That’s where your mind was, actually. Hyunjin had done this big gesture for you. He made an entire day out of it, too. He brought you to his gallery and showed you all of the art he made, and half of it was of you. He brought you shopping and got you expensive clothes and accessories for the fancy date he brought you on. This all must’ve been leading up to him taking your virginity now, right? Hyunjin definitely seemed like the type of person who wanted to make that something big and romantic and special. You half expected to go into his apartment and see rose petals leading to his bed.
Even if it wasn’t that far, he’d probably want to do something, right?
But instead, he stopped with you outside your apartment. You looked up at him in confusion, “Are we staying at my place?”
“You are,” he chuckled.
“What?”
“_____, it’s our first date,” he explained, still laughing softly at your confusion. “I’m doing things traditionally. It seems right. So you sleep here, I sleep over there, and I’ll see you in the morning, okay?”
You pouted but mumbled an, “Okay…”
Did you feel disappointed? Kind of. But did you also feel relieved? A little bit. You were pretty sure you were wearing some ugly cotton thong you’d gotten at the department store, anyway.
Hyunjin kissed your pouting lips, which brought a small smile to your face as he beamed back at you, “Goodnight, _____.”
“Goodnight, Hyunjin,” you replied before turning to unlock your door.
And once you were inside, you had to call your friends to tell them everything.

Desert Rose
Chapter 9 ~ Sophia?
✧ Pairing : Daryl Dixon x Rose
✧ Era : Season 2
✧ Word Count : 5k
In this chapter ~ After processing the panic and loss the group members had faced, they found themselves held up on a highway as one of their vehicles unfortunately broke down on their way to find sanctuary somewhere else. Though in the midst of searching through the other abandoned cars that lied there, a sudden herd of walkers began to tear through the space. But that's not the only thing that goes wrong as someone suddenly disappears.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It had been a whole week, seven painfully long days, and we were still on the road, trying to find some place to stay since the CDC quite literally went up in flames. I found myself feeling better now that I processed everything the past couple days, assuming it was just the initial shock that made me so reserved. I began to keep my head up in hopes that it would bring us some kind of luck when finding a place. Though the last week hasn't felt very lucky.
And the whole Daryl situation, I pushed it out of my mind completely. I'm a big girl, I wasn't going to mope around about how a man hurt my feelings, hell no. Especially since he hadn't really been that much of an asshole since then so that was a plus. I didn't dwell on it.
All of a sudden I looked back up when hearing two honks coming from the RV, causing all of us to slowly pull over to a stop right behind the giant vehicle. The group made their way out of their parked cars to crowd around where Dale was standing as he opened up the gas tank.
"I'm almost out of gas." he informed, "There doesn't seem to be anywhere we can fill up for a couple hundred miles"
Shane sighed heavily before looking around to the many vehicles we still had, lined up perfectly on the side of the road, "Well, what if we siphon the gas from a few of these cars and narrow it down a bit?"
Everyone seemed to quickly agree with that idea, mostly because we had pulled over in the middle of nowhere and the quietness that lingered made people grow uneasy. We all decided on keeping the RV, Carol's car, and Daryl's pickup for the time being, cramming into as few cars as we could. Everyone began to venture back to move our things and get situated in the new vehicles, when I noticed Daryl in the bed of the truck taking his brother's motorcycle out of the back.
My brows furrowed, "What are you doing?" I asked him.
He stopped to glance up at me, "M' gonna use the gas in the truck for the motorcycle, it don't run out as fast."
"Oh, okay." I replied before swinging the passenger door open.
I could hear Daryl start to pick up the bike again to move it slowly and carefully down to the ground, while I gathered all my things from the floor of the car. The door closed with a slam behind me as I made my way to the RV, going to ride with Glenn and the others.
"Where do ya think yer goin?" I heard Daryl call from behind me.
I turned around to face him again, "The RV." I stated, "You're not taking the truck anymore."
He smirked at me, "Well, there's two seats on a motorcycle, don't know if you realized that." he said smugly.
I rolled my eyes, "I'm aware."
"Then why you goin to the RV?" he asked.
I stayed completely silent as I shrugged, not wanting to give him the real answer. I knew he would probably poke fun at me if he knew the real answer. But also my silence was the only answer he needed as his smirk only grew, the wheels turning faster in his big head.
"Yer not scared? Are ya?" he asked as he tilted his head.
I scoffed, "No."
He then gave me a pointed look. I caved. "Okay, fine, maybe a little." I admitted.
Then he started to quietly chuckle to himself, ducking his head to the ground to try and silence them, "I've never ridden on one before, alright?"
"It's simple...all ya gotta do is hang on. That's it." he said while starting to siphon the gas into the bike.
My mind pondered over it as I watched him. I did trust him, but I never really liked the idea of riding on a motorcycle, no matter who was driving it. It made me uneasy, seeing the thing was nowhere near safe in my eyes.
But after debating with myself for a few painfully long seconds, I finally muttered. "Fine."
I saw him look up and smile at me in victory before I turned around headed into the RV to put my bag and the rest of my shit in there. Though a few short minutes of everyone siphoning gas and getting adjusted into the different cars, it was time to hit the road again to try and find a safe place to stay for a while.
I dreadfully made my way back over to Daryl, where he was already sitting there waiting to go. He sensed immediately how nervous I was, only giving me a subtle nod in reassurance as he waited for me to get on. I sighed deeply to myself in regret, before slowly getting on right behind him, placing my arms hesitantly around his waist, trying to ignore how fast my heart was beating. I couldn't tell if it was because I was getting on a death machine or because of how close I was to him...or both.
He tensed a little when I wrapped my arms around him without warning, but I felt him slowly begin to relax after a moment. Once he saw the RV moving, he started the bike up and revved the engine loudly a few times before we started moving to catch up with it.
I felt him then subtly glance back at me, almost as if to make sure I was okay before doing something that would make my stomach flip.
Suddenly, we started going much faster and he began to smile before bringing the bike up quickly to do a fucking wheelie. I yelped and tightened my arms around his waist, tightly shutting my eyes and all I could feel was his laughter vibrating through his body at my reaction. I hit him on the chest, and I could practically feel the cockiness radiating off of him. Asshole.
We drove quickly down the long roads, the wind whipping me in the face for what felt like days as I clung to Daryl the entire time. I hadn't really opened my eyes the entire time he drove, only wanting to get it over with faster before I never trusted him again. The small wheelie he did almost made my heart fly out of my ass.
But my face scrunched in confusion as I felt the man slow down drastically, taking a chance to open my eyes the smallest bit to see what was going on. Though my eyes widened at the sight, seeing we had come across a highway with a shit ton of cars scattered all over the place. Everyone else seemed to notice at the same time what we were dealing with, slowing down drastically once we saw how many there were.
Daryl realized quickly that the RV was too big to get through, and he picked up his pace again to drive around and align himself with the window to talk to Dale.
"See a way through?" the old man asked.
Daryl nodded briefly before we got in front of the vehicle to lead the way. He swerved through the narrow path gracefully, gliding past them carefully as he tried to lead them as best as he could. It was all going fine, until we heard a loud pop and two honks come from the RV, the rest of us pulling over to see what was wrong. Daryl and I got off the bike once it came to a stop and he shut it off, turning back to see Dale came out of the RV looking pissed, popping the hood of the RV.
"I said it didn't I? A thousand times I said it, dead in the water." he ranted out loud.
"Problem Dale?" Shane asked.
"Oh, just a matter of being stuck in the middle of nowhere, with no hope of-" he cut himself off suddenly once he glanced over to see I was looking through one of the abandoned cars. "-okay that was dumb." he finished.
"Can't find a radiator hose here." Shane said.
Daryl came over to where I was and glanced through the window, "But there's a whole bunch of stuff we can find." he said.
"We can siphon more fuel if anything." I said.
"Maybe some water." Carol suggested.
"Or food." Glenn piped in.
"This is a graveyard." Lori stated nervously, glancing around at all the cars and noticing the bodies that lied in some of them, "I don't like this." she concluded.
I just stared at her, glancing towards everyone else who seemed to be thinking the same thing, before we all collectively dispersed to see what supplies we could find despite her subtle protests.
"Yeah alright, spread out see what you can find." Shane said awkwardly as he watched most of us walk away.
I headed towards as many cars as I could, looking through every place to make sure they were completely cleaned out before moving to the next. I ended up finding some water bottles, a few canned vegetables, some shirts, and a larger sharp knife that looked almost brand new. Maybe this highway is what we needed as we already seemed to be running low on supplies. I'd say it wasn't a total setback.
After making a few trips back and forth to the RV and back out towards the highway to drop off the things I found, I settled on searching another green car for anything new. My eyes stayed down as I searched, though feeling someone walk up to me as I picked through the backseat.
It was Rick who made his way over, leaning up against side of the car, "Hey, how you doing?" he asked.
"I'm good," I smiled. "Why do you ask?" I questioned as I dug through some older boxes.
"Well, I know you were a little shaken up from the CDC...just wanted to check up on you." he replied.
A smile broke out onto my face. Well, that's adorable. "I mean we all were shaken up about it." I said, and he nodded in agreement, "But I'm fine, just trying to get past it. How are you doing after all of that?"
"As good as I can be. It was a lot but...I'm thinking we'll be alright, hopefully find a place sooner than later." he shrugged.
I could tell there was something else on his mind, something more than what happened at the CDC, but I wasn't going to ask. I figured if he wanted to tell me about it, then he would eventually, but not now. Not when we were currently stuck here for however long Dale took to fix the RV.
But I nodded at what he said and watched as he walked over to another nearby car to look through it, just as I slowly went back to mine. I was slightly disappointed to find there was nothing worth taking so I stepped back with a sigh, my eyes searching around absentmindedly to find a different car.
But I didn't make it very far before a pair of arms wrapped around my waist, while their hand went over my mouth knowing I would scream. I turned back in panic, only to find Rick was the one holding me, with a frantic look on his face. My hand rose to push him away from me, but he quickly put his finger up to his lips. That caught my attention as he slowly removed his hand from my face, and ushered me under the car right next to us.
I grew very confused as we both slipped under the car, until I heard the walkers, a lot of them, slowly making their way down the highway and through the cars, seeing the amount passing us just through the small opening visible under the vehicle. My hand instinctively grabbed Rick's in shock as I covered my mouth so I wouldn't attract any of them towards our hiding place, and prayed that a group this big wouldn't find any of us. Rick looked over at me and slowly placed his other hand on top of mine, to try and calm his nerves a bit as his breathing picked up drastically from the shock.
All I could think about at that moment was all the others that were scattered around the large space. I knew all of them were smart enough to hide, to get out of sight, but still anything could happen. Especially when it came to something as big as this.
It felt like ages before the last few walkers made their way past us, both Rick and I letting out a sigh of relief once they slowly seemed to continue to move along down the endless highway.
But all the tension seemed to rebuild in a second when we heard a scream. An ear-piercing scream. I whipped my head in the direction of the sound to see Sophia being chased by two walkers off of the highway, towards the tree line and into the woods just to the right. Rick didn't hesitate. He let go of my hand quickly and scooted out from under the car as fast as he could, booking it towards the woods to save her as he pulled out his gun.
"Rick, wait!" I whisper yelled, but he was already too far away to hear me.
Letting out another breath, I got out from under the car to see if everyone else was okay. The walk was long and almost painful as I made my way back to the RV where I assumed they would meet up, the anticipation was beginning to kill me. But finally, it began to come into view, as I seemed to be the last one to make it back as all eyes immediately went to me once they sensed movement coming towards them.
Carl was the first one to rush over to me the second he saw me, his feet slapping loudly on the ground as he ran forward to tackle me in a hug. I couldn't help but smile as I bent down to hold him tightly, making sure he was alright before moving down the line. Glenn didn't hesitate to wordlessly pull me into his arms, breathing a sigh of relief as he seemed to still process the shit show that just went down.
My eyes then opened and found Daryl over Glenns shoulder, and he slowly made his way up to me. I managed to slip out of Glenn's hold as the man approached me slowly, hesitantly placing a hand on my shoulder and squeezing it a little.
"You good?" he asked.
"Yeah, you?"
He nodded as he slightly chewed his lip, and then did something I didn't expect him to do. He gave me a side hug and rested his chin on top of my head for a second or two, before ducking his head and moving back to grab something from his bike.
My eyes softened as I watched him for a moment as he walked away, my heart fluttering the smallest bit at the action I never would've guessed he would dare to do. I found myself smiling knowingly to myself. Maybe, just maybe, he cared a bit more than I realized.
But my smile seemed to vanish in a split second when I caught sight of Carol who was sobbing in Lori's arms for her daughter. Her head continued to lift up from time to time to watch the woods ahead of her in anticipation, but there was nothing. Nobody else said a word as we all silently waited with her, watching to see Rick coming up over the small hill with Sophia safe in his hold.
It felt like hours had passed before everyone seemed to perk up the smallest bit of something rustling in the trees. Rick emerged from the woods looking absolutely exhausted, but when I saw he didn't have Sophia, my heart broke even more for Carol.
"Where is she?" I asked him almost immediately.
"She didn't make it back up here?" he asked with concern in his voice.
We all shook our heads.
A crushed look passed over his face, but didn't linger for long as he racked his brain for what to do next. He quickly ushered me, Daryl, Shane, and Glenn to help go back and look for her to have more eyes on our surroundings. We didn't seem to make it very far into the woods before Rick stopped walking and pointed to a small tree trunk where he had told her to hide.
He stated that this was where he left her and the last place he saw her before he left to take care of the walkers. But upon looking around the area, she was absolutely nowhere in sight.
"Sure this is where ya left her?" Daryl asked first, looking around the hiding spot for any sign of her.
"I left her right here. I drew the walkers way off in that direction," he pointed east, "Right up the creek."
"Without a paddle...seems where we've landed" Daryl spoke.
Rick then sighed stressfully, "She was gone by the time I got back here, I figured she just took off and ran back to the group. I told her to go that way and keep the sun on her left shoulder."
My eyes stayed pinned to the ground as he talked, trying to see if I could find any of her tracks when I noticed Glenn was conveniently standing in the way. I opened my mouth to say something, but Daryl quickly beat me to the punch as he noticed too.
"Hey short round, why don't ya step off to one side. Yer mucking up the trail." he snapped.
Glenn looked down as soon as it was drawn to his attention, awkwardly moving to the right side to be out of the way as he muttered an apology. I continued to move around him, trying to make out which way she went with all the other tracks surrounding her trail which only made it more difficult.
"Assuming she knows her right from her left." Shane suddenly muttered.
My eyes snapped up to fix him with a glare, "Are you fucking serious?" I asked.
"Oh, I'm dead fucking serious." he snapped.
"Hey, hey, enough, she understood me just fine." Rick stepped in before I could say anything else.
Shane huffed and continued, "Kid's tired and scared man. She had a close call with two walkers. Got to wonder how much of what you said stuck."
"Well, I got clear prints right here." I announced as I pointed to the ground, "She did like you said, headed back to the highway."
When I was only met with silence, I looked over my shoulder to see they all had their eyes on me with a somewhat shocked expression. Daryl then came up behind me to see if what I found was actually true, his eyes glancing back to me slightly impressed.
"You can track?" he asked me.
I nodded as if it was obvious, "Yeah, my dad used to take me and my sister hunting all the time. How else do you think I survived that long on my own? Luck?" I asked.
He only shrugged, "Guess I learn somethin new about ya every day." he said as he nudged my shoulder.
I smiled with my eyebrows raised before we headed off to follow her trail. From what I could see they weren't as fresh, which meant she was further away than I originally thought, causing the disappointment to resurface. It fell silent between all of us as the rest of the men followed behind Daryl and I. But I noticed that she started going a completely different direction towards the left after only a few minutes of following the path she left behind.
"She was doing just fine till right here, all she had to do was keep going. She veered off that way." Daryl said.
"Why would she do that?" Glenn asked.
Shane shrugged, "Maybe she saw something that spooked her, made her run off."
"A walker?" Glenn questioned.
"There's no other footprints but hers." I replied.
Rick piped in, "How about you and Glenn go back up to the highway," he said to Shane, "People are going to start panicking. Let them know we're on her trail doing everything we can. But most of all keep everyone calm."
"I'll keep them busy scavenging cars. Keep them occupied." Shane nodded.
After the two of them quickly went off, it was silent between us once again. I knew we all had the same exact question on our minds, but no one dared to say it out loud as if putting it out into the universe would change everything. I could tell Rick felt extremely guilty for leaving her in the first place, but how could he have known? It was just an accident and something that he couldn't control.
"Tracks are gone." Rick suddenly stated, looking towards the ground with furrowed brows.
I shook my head, "No, they're just faint. She came right through here." I said, pointing through the small bushes she pushed through.
"How can you tell? All I see is dirt and grass." he replied.
I just blinked at him while Daryl spoke up, "Ya want a lesson on trackin, or you wanna find that girl and get our asses off that interstate?"
Rick seemed to sallow his words as he nodded, keeping quiet as we both followed Daryl deeper into the woods. We walked for a little bit longer, staying low to the ground, before we heard the familiar moans from a lone walker approaching.
I stepped up immediately, getting my knife ready as I spotted it through a few scattered trees. My arm raised as I threw it straight at its head as soon as it started to take notice to us. A sigh left my lips as I walked over to it and pulled the knife out, wiping the blood off on its shirt before putting it back into my belt.
"This walker fed recently." Rick stated as he got low to the ground to examine it.
I tilted my head as I looked down at it, "How can you tell?" I asked.
"Skin under the fingernails." Rick listed, "And in its teeth."
"Only one way to know for sure it's not her." Daryl hinted as he then glanced towards me, "Can I use one of yer knives?" he asked.
I began to reach from my smaller one, but then remembered what I found earlier in one of the cars. The knife was very sharp and bigger than my throwing knives, having a few little divots in it towards the handle that reminded me of a key. In my mind it would work better than the duller ones that I had that desperately needed to be sharpened.
I reached behind my belt, "Here." I muttered before pulling it out and handing it over.
He took it from my hand and did a double take when he saw it, "This is new," he stated to my surprise, "When'd ya get it?"
"In one of the cars. I thought it was a good find." I replied with a shrug.
He nodded and didn't waste any more time before he raised the weapon in the air, bringing it down harshly and beginning to cut the walker open. The smell was always the worst part about these things and it's something I'll probably never get used to. I stood off to the side as I watched the scene in slight disgust, scrunching my face up at the sounds.
They looked inside the walker for a few long moments, fishing around through its dark guts before finding out that it wasn't Sophia and just a random animal. How they could tell the difference, I had no fucking idea. But at least it wasn't her.
Relief seemed to fill us once we knew for sure she was still alive out here. But we needed to start heading back, knowing it would be nearly dark by the time we made it back up to the highway.
The last thing any of us wanted to do was leave her out here for the night, but we didn't really have another choice. We wouldn't be able to track her down in the dark and would only be going around in circles hopelessly until the sun rose again. So, we made the tough decision after debating for a few minutes, to head back and give the news to the others.
As we trucked through the woods, Daryl started asking me when I started to learn how to track suddenly out of the blue. I actually saw him get a little excited that someone shared the same interest as him, even if he tried to not show that he was, I knew. It was almost amusing seeing him talk about the things he liked to do most, and I answered every question he threw at me.
We seemed to get lost in the conversation until Rick announced we were almost there, barely being able to see the road through the trees. I was a little disappointed that our talk seemed to get cut short and by the looks of it, so was he. Now the guilty feeling was just washing right back over me the second I saw Carol's disappointed and fearful face.
Her face dropped the second she saw us appear from the woods, "You didn't find her?" she asked almost instantly.
"Her trail went cold. We'll pick it up again at first light." Rick said.
"You can't leave my daughter out there on her own, to spend a night alone in the woods." she continued, her voice breaking towards the end.
"Out in the dark's no good." Daryl advised, "We'd just be trippin over ourselves. More people get lost."
"I know it's hard but I'm asking you not to panic. We know she was out there. We have to make this an organized effort, Daryl and Rose know the woods better than anybody. I've asked them to oversee this." Rick said as he placed a hand on her shoulder.
Carol's eyes then trailed down to the blood splattered lightly on Daryl's clothes, "Is that blood?" she asked frantically.
"We took down a walker, but we know it wasn't near Sophia." I spoke.
"How?" she asked me.
"We cut that son of a bitch open, made sure." Daryl said.
Carol's sadness then slowly started to turn into anger right before our very eyes as she looked at Rick, asking him how he could just leave her alone like that. I knew he was trying to stay calm with her, but I could also clearly see he looked stressed enough, not needing a guilt trip from the sobbing mother. I just stayed completely silent as I looked down at my feet, while they only seemed to go back and forth with each other.
But the conversation ended with her voice still saddened and broken, "My little girl got left alone in the woods." she said in disbelief before turning away from the man, not daring to say another word.
That's when I started to feel even more terrible, feeling like I didn't do enough to help her. Maybe I should've gone with Rick, or maybe I should be out there right now continuing to look for her.
Not knowing what to do at that moment, I just walked off, away from everyone. I heard my name being called by Glenn, but I ignored him, I just wanted to be alone for a little while. I knew he would understand when I explained everything to him in the morning, but for now I just wanted to be left by myself as I processed one blow after another.
I made my way to sit down on the hood of one of the abandoned, rusted cars I looked through earlier that day and just tried to decompress after everything. How it all seemed to happen so fast; just like that she was gone. How easy it was for her to just get lost in hardly any time at all while Rick turned his back for only seconds. It only made me worry more that we didn't find anything other than the trail she left behind, and even that went cold.
I then found myself rolling my eyes at the heavy footsteps that slapped loudly on the concrete, making their way over to me.
"Just leave it alone Glenn, we'll talk tomorrow." I muttered, not turning to face him.
"It's me."
I glanced over my shoulder to see Daryl standing there looking a little worried, while I still said nothing. He took my silence as somewhat of an invitation as he hesitantly made his way to the hood of the car and sat down by me, looking above him at the night sky. I silently appreciated these moments I had with him, simply because he understood when I didn't want to talk. He would just sit there and not speak unless I started to first. He had only done it a few times, but each time I seemed to appreciate it more and more.
"Aren't you going to say anything?" I joked, referring to one of the last times we sat like this.
He huffed a small laugh before turning to face me, "Nah, just wanted to make sure yer okay."
I smiled at him and scooted a little closer before I let my head fall onto his shoulder for some type of comfort. He tensed a little bit but not even a second later he began to relax. We didn't say anything else, just sat there listening to our surroundings and staring at the hundreds of cars still scattered in front of us.
That was until I heard a small "oh." come out of his mouth like he forgot something. I looked over to see he had pulled out the new knife I gave him earlier, dangling it in front of my face trying to give it back. I lifted my head slightly and shook it, leaving him looking at me in confusion.
"Keep it." I said simply.
His brows pulled together, "Ya sure?" he asked.
"Trust me I've got plenty." I assured.
He smiled at me in appreciation before putting it back wordlessly while my head fell back on his shoulder, only this time, he didn't tense.
~ Thanks for reading!

Toga's quirk is emotionally driven--just like Touya's and Tomura's.
Thinking about how Toga was so sure that this was such a moment of clarity for herself.
"I'm going back to the League" and "My confusion is cleared away". One statement was a matter of fact, she was running back. The other was not, as she wasn't satisfied with the answer she got from someone she thought might listen and try to understand her, but then didn't. But at the time, she was sure she knew what she wanted and was going back to what she knew, was familiar with, and was convinced she wanted--for the time being.
Tumblr media
I think the above panel is being pulled into question here. All that confusion she thought was cleared away obviously wasn't.
Toga: I want to be more like the people I love
Also Toga: I can't become them even though I love them
Tumblr media
Her quirk--emotionally driven--is not allowing her to go full force. It's similar to when Tenko couldn't decay everything in sight before uncovering his memories. He was being held back, he didn't want to decay everything (he didn't know this though) and uncovering his memories, rather than leading to actual clarity, just led to a bunch of self-deprecating lies that enabled him to go full out with decay.
Toga--again, quirk emotionally driven--can't go full force with hers using Twice's, but also couldn't even do it with just her own when trying Touya and Tomura before the final battle.
Her heart is screaming at her that she doesn't want to be like them, even if she loves them. And that she also doesn't fully want to be like Jin either, even in her attempt to simulate bringing him back to life. For Toga this is devastating--because it's her being forced to face the fact that she's unhappy, evidenced by her not wanting to be like the friends she loves.
It's devastating because if she isn't happy with what she DOES have, then what can she do and what chance does she have at a happy life?
If she doesn't want to be anything like the friends she has, then what does that mean for how she feels about the situation she and her friends are all in? It's all very telling. She's unhappy, and she already knew this but she was trying to run away from that fact. But this is making it to where she can't anymore.
Tumblr media
"Why can't I become Jin?" Well, what is it about Jin that she was wanting in this moment? I think there are several answers to this but I've narrowed it down to two that make the most sense to me.
Jin loved the League, there is no doubt about that. She's confused because her love right now isn't enough to use her emotionally driven quirk the way she was able to for Ochacko, and for part of JIn's quirk. Perhaps she's wanting to be like the part of JIn who loved the League wholeheartedly and was happy with them. But the issue is, that was a one-sided feeling and Toga (and the everyone else) knows it. She loved Jin just as much, but she was not happy. She didn't share the sentiment of having a happy life just because of the League. None of them felt that way. Jin was the only member in their group truly motivated by love for his friends. The rest are motivated by anger, revenge, self-hatred, and unreliable self-narration, Toga included. But they are also motivated by wanting something better for themselves too, meanwhile Jin was not looking for anything more, anything better, because he was happy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
That isn't the case for the rest of the LOV, hence why Toga can't fully become him, because even though he was happy, his happiness is not the happiness she wants.
The other thing I'm left to assume she strongly wanted was to basically try to bring him back. Now, Toga knows he's gone. But she is acting out of revenge, and using Twice's blood to enact revenge is her way of letting Twice take revenge for himself. Toga's grief left her broken and I can only assume this image means she wants to be him in order to bring him back—despite knowing it’s not possible.
Tumblr media
But even trying to bring him back, she is still being forced to realize what she really wants, which is why she can't use his power to the fullest extent.
Either option works, both options work. Either way, Toga can't run from her truth anymore.

ronancetober - day two: monstrous [featuring a piece of my fic in the cold clear light of day down here, everyone’s a monster]
Robin's been aimlessly running in Max's direction for a while when she realizes they've all begun to naturally split off. She hopes in vain that no one is doing anything stupid (ahem, Max), but her animal instincts overpower her anxiety, and Robin finds herself running deeper into the forest, enjoying the peace. The night is quiet, dark and unmoving, which is why when the stick cracks beneath someone's foot behind her, Robin instantly hears.
She freezes where she's standing-- even if she is a huge wolf, if there's some idiot with a gun out here, Robin still might take a beating. The scent on the air is familiar, but it's not one of her pack, Robin doesn't think, and she's confused when her wolf pushes back against that thought.
Oh, fuck, she thinks, the anxiety swirling back to the front of her consciousness, it is someone from her pack, just not a wolf. Nancy. (So it is, Robin thinks for a moment, the passing thought making her smile internally, some idiot with a gun. Her idiot with a gun.) When she turns toward Nancy, she moves slowly, hoping to convey that she isn't a threat, and is tied between joy at seeing Nancy (which is partially her wolf and partially just her natural state) and terror at the circumstances in which they've found themselves. Nancy is clutching one of her guns, aimed dead at Robin's chest, and staring her down steadily.
Robin sits back on her haunches rather than come any closer to Nancy, tries to look as much like a big lost dog and as little like a horrible monster as she can. Nancy narrows her eyes, shrewd.
"Don't come any closer," she tells Robin, and Robin is, frankly, a little offended. It's an unnecessary remark, given the fact that she's currently in sit and stay mode. And then Nancy steps forward, disobeying her own orders. "What are you?" She asks, and Robin tilts her big wolf head in a way she hopes conveys very cute, right? and not I'm going to eat you.
And then, the strangest thing happens. Nancy Wheeler puts down her gun. Robin eyes her, somehow more nervous now that the girl has let go of her weapon, and tries to sit perfectly still. If she was still human, such a task would be impossible-- Robin is never not moving-- but shifted, she has more physical control, a better understanding of her mass in space. She stares at Nancy as the girl examines her.
"You look so familiar," Nancy murmurs, and Robin thinks yes, that's it, that's my girl, using her evidence. "But I've never seen something like you, have I?" She asks it thoughtfully, like she's running through all the reasons a big wolf might be here at Skull Rock, a big wolf who seems patient and polite and oddly recognizable. Robin just waits. Nancy's looking at her so carefully, so purposefully, that she's sure the girl is just a moment away from realization.
"A werewolf," Nancy says, sounding remarkably calm, "that's what you are, huh, girl?" Robin thinks if she was still human, she might blush, but instead, she just averts her eyes, blinking slowly as she stares at the leaves piling on the ground around them. She doesn't see Nancy stepping forward, but she hears the crush of dirt and rocks beneath her feet, smells the familiar warmth of the girl getting closer. It still startles her when a small, soft palm comes up to the side of her face, almost gentle. Robin, unable to help the instinct whether human or wolf, leans into Nancy's touch. They're so close now, Robin thinks, Nancy's extending a great deal of trust to her without even knowing for sure who she is. But of course, Nancy knows. Nancy knows the same way Robin knew before she turned around in the woods that she was safe-- because they mean so much to one another, rely on one another so intimately, that it just makes sense.
"Robin," Nancy says softly, running her hand through Robin's fur, "it's you, isn't it?"

My Number One Hero - Katsuki Bakugo X Female Reader
Tumblr media
Title: My Number One Hero
Katsuki Bakugo X Female Reader
Additional Characters: Tsuyu, Ochako, Momo, Mina (Mentioned), Kirishima (Mentioned), Denki (Mentioned), Sero (Mentioned), and Izuku (Mentioned), and Osake (OC) (Mentioned)
WC: 2,372
Warnings: Slight suggestiveness, Osake doesn't keep his hands to himself, threats, fighting, punching, slight angst, mentions of death (but no one dies), and Bakugo saves the day
Rolling your eyes, you rested your hand on your cheek. Over at another table, some guy you only knew by 'Osake,' was staring at you. Like he usually did. It... Unnerved you. He had asked you out many times before, but your answer was always the same. No.
He was somewhat cute; however, his personality left much to be desired. But that was beside the point. It didn't matter anyway, you were only interested in one person. Katsuki Bakugo. Bakugo was loud and rude, but he was fiercely competitive. It was one of the things you liked most about him. His determination. His want and need to become... Well, in his words, the best and number one hero.
Katsuki Bakugo hated you. That was why you had no choice but to keep it a secret. Well, you thought he hated you. He hated everyone. But, he wasn't as mean to you as he was to the others. Maybe because he liked you? No, that couldn't have been true.
You shook your head clear of those thoughts and pushed them away. There would be time for all that later. You went back to trying to eat your food, but Tsu nudged you gently in the side, grabbing your attention.
"He's been staring at you all lunch, Y/N." She observed and you nodded, sighing again.
"I know."
Ochako giggled, nodding, "He seems to really like you... Isn't he in the General Education class?" She asked and you nodded, not even sparing the guy a glance.
"Yeah."
She smirked knowingly, looking over your shoulder, "Well then, go say hi!"
"Why?" You asked, looking back at her, eyebrows furrowed.
"Because you should have fun... Not being cooped up in your room studying or whatever." Momo spoke, pointing a chopstick at you.
You shook your head, "Not my type."
Momo rolled her eyes, shaking her head, "It seems that no one here is your type..." She muttered, but you ignored her.
You sighed, looking at Bakugo, he was eating with Denki, Mina, Sero, and Kirishima. The four were talking and laughing while Bakugo just ate his food, a frown on his face, and eyes narrowed.
Glancing down at your own bowl, you frowned, "I'll see you guys later." You murmured, pushing your tray aside, leaving your unfinished meal behind. Standing, you grabbed your bag and left the cafeteria without any fanfare.
~~~
Bakugo watched, confused and concerned as you left the cafeteria. You looked sad, maybe even annoyed. Bakugo bit his lip, not taking his eyes off you until you were fully out of sight. He had known you for a long time. You lived in the same neighborhood that he and Deku lived in. He talked to you only a few times until school started. After that, Bakugo paid more attention to becoming the number one hero. But, that didn't stop him from having a crush on you.
Bakugo thought you were amazingly strong. Your quirk was incredible, to say the least. Not only were you a great and talented fighter, but you were also beautiful, perfect in Bakugo's eyes. You were kind, sweet, and very dedicated to your studies. At first, he ignored his feelings for you, thinking that they would slow him down, but only recently had he realized that they only made him stronger.
Bakugo turned his eyes back to the rest of his group. They were busy talking about some video game or whatever, he didn't really care. He was going to get back to his lunch, but he paused when that Osake kid got up from his seat, a smirk on his face. His friends from his table cheered and clapped his on the back, before he left towards where you had gone. Glaring at the back of the guy's back, Bakugo got up suddenly, ignoring his friend's worried questions and confused glances.
~~~
You headed towards your dorm for the day, glad that you didn't really need to go to the rest of your classes. You fumbled with your uniform with your fingers, feeling a bit anxious. You let out a deep breath, only feeling a smidge better. Once you were almost to the exit, a voice called from behind you.
"Hey! Y/N! Wait up!"
You sighed, hearing Osake's voice.
You tried to walk faster, but you decided to stop. Better to get it over with than to run away. If he tried anything, you'd beat him up. You didn't care if you got detention or something. You weren't going to put up with Osake any longer. Turning around, you crossed your arms.
"What do you want?" You asked, already annoyed.
"I just wanted to talk to you, angel." He spoke with a smirk, stepping closer to you.
Cringing, you glared at him, "Don't call me that."
He laughed, "Oh come on, don't be like that. I'm just trying to be nice!"
You rolled your eyes, "What do you want, Hensho?" You asked, and his eyes widened a bit before he went back to his normally cocky self.
"I wanted to ask if you wanted to hang out sometime?" He asked and you immedently shook your head.
"No. That's not happening." You said, but Osake scoffed..
"Come on, it's just one date." He tried again, getting slightly annoyed, but his hid it with his cunning smirk.
He slowly stepped forward, making you step back, your back hitting the wall. Your eyes widened a little, realizing that you were trapped, and it didn't seem like there was anybody around to help you.
You felt a hand on your arm and looked up at Osake, "Just say yes, come on... It'll be fun."
You looked away, hating the way he said the last sentence. The way it dragged along his tongue, like there was a hidden meaning behind it. And, you were sure there was one. Looking back up, glaring fiercely at the boy before you, you spoke.
"No."
Osake's half-lidded eyes narrowed, before he grabbed onto your arm again, and leaned down slightly towards you.
"Come on, it's just one date."
You were about to reply when you heard stomping. Looking over, you watched as if it was all in slow motion, as Bakugo came charging over, punching Osake straight in the face. Osake stumbled backwards, as Bakugo's fast make impact with his face, slamming him down into the ground with a loud thud. You watched in awe and shock as Bakugo stood up, breathing heavily with anger. Osake was unconscious on the ground, his nose bleeding. Yep, it was definitely broken.
Huffing, Bakugo finally spoke, "She said no." Talking down to Osake's unconscious body on the floor.
Bakugo turned to you, giving you a once over, "Are you okay?" He asked and you nodded, mouth still agape.
"You saved me..." You mumbled, still in complete awe.
Blushing, Bakugo nodded, rubbing the back of his neck, "Yeah... So? No thank you?" He tried being tough, but you didn't seem to notice.
"Thank you, Bakugo." You spoke before looking down at Osake on the floor. "I think you killed him." You joked, looking back at him and he chuckled.
"Yeah, whatever. Hopefully, that taught the creep a lesson." He spoke and you basically melted.
"I know one thing for sure..." You began softly, and Bakugo turned to you, noticing your smile.
"What's that?" He asked, and you just smiled up at him.
"You're definitely going to be the number one hero." You spoke, and Bakugo's eyes went wide, his blush darkening.
Oh, he was in love.
"Really?" He asked, softly from shock and you nodded.
"Yeah, absolutely, you're like the best fighter I've ever seen, you're smart and determined. You have the means and ability to do what it takes to achieve your goals. It's really admirable really." You spoke, looking up at him as he stared down at you.
Bakugo felt something warm spread through his chest and butterflies to erupt in his stomach. Hearing you compliment him made him unbelievably happy. It was crazy what you did to him. His heart was beating so fast and the palms of his hands felt sweaty. More sweaty than usual.
"Are you serious?" He asked and you stuttered out a laugh.
"Why wouldn't I be?" You asked as if he had asked a silly question, and he had.
Bakugo bit his lip, his red eyes staring into yours. You looked up at him, smiling widely and Bakugo could feel his heart begin to race. It was growing harder to breathe, his mind seemed hazy. It was awkwardly silent for a while, before Bakugo spoke, clearing his throat.
"Um... While I'm here... I wanted to know if..." He trailed off, looking away, his face red, but you pushed off of the wall, stepping closer to him.
"Yes..?" You asked, wanting to know what he wanted to say, but you had a feeling that you already knew.
Rubbing the back of his neck, he sighed, "Well... Do you want to go out sometime?" He asked, and you couldn't believe what you were hearing.
Or seeing for that matter! Bakugo looked shy, awkward, and honestly... Adorable.
"A date with you?" You asked with a small smirk, noticing his cheeks flush more as you grew closer to him.
"Yeah... With me." He replied, and you nodded, your smile never faltering.
"I thought you'd never ask." You giggled and Bakugo let out a breath, a small smile on his face.
But as soon as the smile arrived, it quickly was replaced by his usual smirk.
"Cool, I'll text you." He spoke and you nodded, feeling very giddy as Bakugou slowly backed away, almost stumbling over the still unconscious Osake as he stepped back.
You watched him leave, feeling a sense of joy, happiness, and excitement. You felt like you could do anything. You were invincible.
~~~
It was almost seven and you and Bakugo were walking hand in hand back to the dorms. You two had spent the night eating at a nearby diner before walking through a park, talking and enjoying each other's company. At the end of your night, the both of you sat on a park bench, looking up at the stars above. Which, was where you also shared your first kiss.
It was amazing.
You had been nervous at first, but after you kissed him, it felt like everything was right. Bakugo's lips were soft against yours and you instantly forgot about your nerves. You raked your hands through his surprisingly soft hair, pulling him closer to you.
"I've wanted to do that since we met." You confessed, moving your hands down to his shirt, gripping onto the fabric tightly.
"Me too." He spoke softly, his breath tickling your face gently.
Bakugo's lips brushed against yours again, and this time it was you who pulled him closer. You moved your hands down to his waist, feeling his body heat. Bakugo brought his hands from your waist up you hold both of your cheeks, caressing your smooth skin underneath his fingertips. You moaned softly, feeling your heartbeat quicken.
Smiling, you felt as if you were on cloud nine, looking up at Bakugo as you two walked down the halls. He noticed your stare and smirked, tilting his head down to place a quick kiss on your head. Giggling, you pulled him closer to you by his arm, leaning your head on his shoulder. But, sadly, the moment had to end.
"Really, you're going out with that jerk?"
Looking to the side, in an adjoining room to the hallway, were Osake and his friends. Osake stood up and walked over, glaring at Bakugo, who just glared right back.
"I thought I knocked some sense into you." Bakugo spoke, voice deep.
Osake scoffed, ignoring his comment, "You're dating her now?" Osake spat, his voice full of hate.
"I am." Bakugo spoke, trying to calm down, but it was hard.
He really wanted to punch Osake's face in again.
You could feel Bakugo's hand start to warm up, not too hot, but you looked up to Bakugo, slightly worried. You didn't want a fight to break out.
"She belongs to me." Osake spoke, and Bakugo's eyes widened, he grabbed your hand firmly, "She belongs to no one."
Your heart raced at Bakugo's words.
"Really? Okay, let's take this outside. I can beat you. There's no doubt that I can." Osake taunted, looking down at Bakugo.
"Let's do it then." Bakugo replied, and you looked to him, shaking your head.
"He's not worth it, Katsuki. He'd lose anyway. Just a waste of stamina." You spoke and Bakugo hummed with a quirk of his lip.
"Fine." He replied, turning away from the boy and continuing your walk back to the dorms.
Osake scoffed, "That's it? You're just going to back down?"
"Yeah." As if it were obvious.
Osake laughed, "Are you kidding me?! You should have just fought me!" He shouted, but Bakugo didn't answer.
You and Bakugo kept walking, ignoring Osake and finally making it back to the dorms. You bit your lip as you finally made it to your dorm room. Stopping at the door, you turned to look up at Bakugo, worrying your bottom lip.
"Do you... Want to stay the night?" You asked, and Bakugo smirked.
"Hmm maybe, what do you have to offer?" He asked and you, took both his hands into yours, looking up at him through your lashes.
"I have Super Smash Bros on the Nintendo..."
Bakugo immediately perked up, "You have a Nintendo?"
"I do! It's on my desk." You spoke and Bakugou pretended to think for a moment.
"Hmm, alright. I'll stay." He spoke, grabbing your wrist and pulling you into your room.
You laughed and followed him inside. He shut the door behind him, locking it and turning to you, kissing you once more. He pulled back with a smirk on his face as he stared down at you with half-lidded eyes.
"I'm gonna beat you."
You scoffed, jaw dropped, "Oh, I doubt it." You spoke with a laugh.
Bakugou just sighed, looking down at you with complete admiration in his eyes. He was really good at the game, but he was going to let you win... At least once.
The moment I saw these, I knew the exact two scenes from longfic I wanted to share.
⭐ share a snippet where a character is the best at something
Chapter 17 in the arcade where Kat (OC) decides to show off her Guitar Hero skills after a pair of jerks try to belittle her and Marik.
-----
“Hey lovebirds, take your sweet-talk somewhere else. You’re standing in front of our game ,” one of them said in a snobbish tone.
“ Your game? Sorry, I must have missed the plaque that said it belonged to you,” Kat commented sarcastically while looking towards the pair she deemed to be nothing more than jerks.
“Sweetheart, this game is for hardcore gamers only. Your wanna-be boy-toy doesn't fit that description,” he continued rudely.
Marik scowled bitterly and opened his mouth to say something in defense, but Kat pressed her hand against his chest to indicate that he should remain silent. “You know what, I changed my mind. I want to play this game,” she stated, acting smug.
The two guys laughed in mockery. “Oh please! A tiny girl like you ….playing a game like this !” the other choked out between fits of laughter.
Kat released Marik’s arm, picked up the controller, looked the laughing pair dead in the eye, then selected the ‘Expert’ difficulty. She then scrolled through the songs, stopping at one in particular while sporting a wicked grin.
“Oh look, she thinks she can play ‘Through the Fire and Flames’!” the first one continued to laugh. “Sweetheart, no one can beat that! There’s no way you’ll even stand a chance!”
Marik hadn’t heard of the song, but guessed based on their reaction that it wasn’t an easy one to play. He wondered if she had chosen the song as pure irony because of her status as a flame elemental. As soon as she selected ‘Start’, he quickly discovered there was more than irony in her song choice. As she hit the 100 note streak in the first ten seconds, he realized this song was pretty much one giant ‘Fuck You’ to the two jerks. Compared to the song that the group before them had played, this one was insanely fast paced, with continuous strings of notes flying down the screen. Not only had Kat started singing along with the lyrics (making Marik realize she knew this particular song pretty well), but she was barely looking at the screen. Instead her eyes were closed half the time as she fully got into the rhythm of the song, clearly enjoying herself. She acted as if she was holding an actual guitar in her hand, and not a controller.
He looked over to see the pair that had ridiculed them staring, their faces flushed in embarrassment and jaws nearly on the floor. He also noticed that people were stopping to watch, forming a small crowd. As soon as she finished with the song the words ‘ YOU ROCK! ’ surrounded in flames flashed across the screen, followed by a detailed list that showed she had scored 100% across the board. Kat calmly placed the controller back on its stand, looked the pair of jerks dead in the eye one last time, grinned devilishly, then held up both middle fingers while walking away backwards through the crowd. Marik couldn’t help but laugh at the sight and followed after her, not even bothering to look back to see everyone else’s reactions.
🍇 share a snippet with food(or the palpable lack of food)
Chapter 55. I have dubbed this chapter 'Burgers are Salad' for a reason. Also, to avoid confusion, Yamima is called Malik in longfic (since this is a heavy Marik and Malik chapter...and yes, I have to really pay attention when writing chapters with these two interacting). Additionally, in this AU, Malik existed during Atem's time (and is an elemental like Bakura and OC) and wasn't created by Marik (it's very convoluted and explained in story).
-----
“Did you seriously just order a bunch of pork dumplings and nothing else?” Marik asked in repulsion as he stared at the pile on Malik’s plate.
Malik narrowed his eyes and glared across the table at the young Tomb Keeper. “You don’t hear me complaining about what you chose to order.” He didn’t blink as he shoved an entire dumpling in his mouth.
Atem remained silent, content to stay out of the line of fire between the two as he ate his bowl of ramen.
“I grew up underground where meat was scarce. Even when it was available, everything had to be used immediately or it went to waste. I never liked the idea that an animal's only purpose in life was so that it could be slaughtered,” Marik stated bitterly.
“Reality check: That is their purpose. Why do you think they exist?” Malik questioned pointedly.
Marik scowled. “I could ask the same thing about you.”
Malik opened his mouth to reply, then quickly closed it, his eyes shifting back and forth as he contemplated the point. “Fair enough,” he said with a casual shrug.
“I swear, you’re as bad as Bakura when it comes to meat. At least Kat has the decency to limit its consumption in front of me,” Marik stated irritably.
“Fine, next time I’ll get a salad. Would that make you happy?” Malik asked, appearing annoyed.
“ You would eat a salad?” Marik asked skeptically.
Malik grinned. “Oh absolutely! A grilled angus and portobello salad with swiss, grilled onion, and untoasted croutons, topped off with a nice and creamy garlic pepper dressing,” he said sarcastically.
Marik’s face fell. “That’s called a mushroom-swiss burger…”
Malik popped another dumpling into his mouth. “It has lettuce, therefore it counts as a salad,” he argued casually.
“You’re being annoying on purpose, aren’t you?” Marik asked flatly.
Malik smirked sarcastically as a reply.
hey! this is chance & here’s week 3’s prompt. share an excerpt that you’re very proud of from any of your wips.
This is probably my favorite non-physical interaction between my OCs Doctor Ardus, a Dreen (an alien species of my own invention), and Doctor Nina Ma'atanoa, a human. You can find the COMPLETE book here (links to Wattpad) and read it for FREE!
Ardus waited a few moments more before he backed away from the group and walked over to the human woman. She acknowledged him with a glance. Folding his arms over his chest he said, “Nia is presenting a lifesaving discovery that would have been impossible without you, and yet you are standing over here alone.” He leaned forward, looking down at her face. “Are you all right?” he asked softly.
Nina looked up at Onu's Table, silent for a few moments. Thoughtful. “It's hard to be excited when people could get hurt.”
“I understand that.” Ardus straightened. “We had a similar event a few months before you arrived, and it turned out to be nothing.”
“A lot of people died the last time a package like that came here.”
Ardus shuffled his feet, his clawed, semi-webbed toes clicking on the floor. “True, but no one in this room believes you had anything to do with that. I know you had nothing to do with it.”
“That doesn't stop everyone else from staring.”
He smirked. “They stare because you are half their size.”
“They stare because I'm human. Because I'm the same species as the people who destroyed that cargo vessel, killed and hurt all those Dreen.” She reached out and straightened a glass cube that encased a piece of chromium the size of Ardus's thumb, pushing it into place with the tip of her finger. Her voice had a hard edge to it. “They stare because a few idiots made my whole species look like murderers, and they wonder if I'm just like them.”
“But you are not.”
“Basic survival instincts tell us to avoid the things that look like things that have hurt us in the past, even when logic tells us otherwise. It's hard to separate the individual from the species when life or death are on the line.”
Ardus listened. The lockdown hadn't upset her as much as the idea that her own people might be the cause, he realized. “You feel guilty for the actions of others?”
“Yes.”
“Why?”
“Because it's stupid.” Nina huffed into her mask. “Hurting people is stupid, hating people because they're different is a waste of time. I never understood it.” She picked up a cube containing a twisted lump of copper, turning it over in her hands. “I always thought that being different was a good thing. If everyone was the same, there would be no new ideas, no art, no music, just the same everything over and over.”
Ardus took a cube with a lump of vanadium. He held the cube up to the light and admired how the vanadium sparkled. It was the same color as her eyes, variations on steel and storm and silver. “I agree.”
“Why is it so hard to accept that Dreen exist?” Nina continued, setting down the copper and picking up osmium. “Why do they see you as a threat? All you want to do is meet us, learn about us, work with us, and my people have to go and do something stupid.” Ardus watched Nina's fingers clench around the cube before she set it down, her hands balling into fists. He looked at her face and saw her brow furrowed, her eyes narrowed. Though her voice was too quiet to carry, Ardus heard bitter anger in it. He marveled at her fury, her frustration. She cares so much, like someone else I knew. Something in his chest knotted. “Doctor,” he gestured to the nearby table littered with pipettes, glass tubes, manuals and equipment, “come, sit with me.”
“Hmm?” Her forehead smoothed and her eyes widened as she looked up at him. Ardus pulled out two chairs, settling himself into one. He watched her climb expertly into the Dreen-sized chair, using the brackets as ladder-rungs. She turned and sat, her feet hanging more than two feet above the floor, ankles crossed. “Okay, I'm sitting. What is it?”
For a moment, all he could think about was how cute she was, how small and dainty. With an effort he dragged his mind back to the subject, away from her eyes bright with anger, her little face pinched with worry. He glanced over at the others, none were looking in their direction. “I have a theory. Perhaps my opinion is not worth much, and I have no means of proving it, but it brings me comfort. I think that once a species evolves to the point where its environment no longer poses an existential threat, we invent problems to satisfy the fight-or-flight instinct. Threats to one's safety are perceived regardless of whether or not the threat exists, so strong is the desire to survive. We may see the arrival of a new species as competition for resources, a threat to our existence, rivals for power and authority. However, we cannot simply shed the parts of our brains that control these responses, but we can override them with reason. At that point, evolution becomes an individual choice rather than a species-wide affair, affecting all who survive and propagate.”
“You're saying,” Nina's eyes widened, “once a species becomes advanced enough for reason, higher thought, self-awareness, empathy, we can choose to ignore our instincts, decide to not fear the unknown until we have a reason to, to embrace the different and the strange. We have the ability to choose to transcend our animal natures – fight or flight, competition for resources, defending territory – and go beyond the fear response, to move past phobia and into acceptance. Doing so advances the species faster than natural means, because one can make a choice faster than their environment can change them.”
Ardus could not resist a smile. He spread his hands. “That is it, precisely. It may be that my species is older than yours, that we came to this same divergence millennia ago, but it would seem that we Dreen have already made the choice to evolve beyond our baser fears. But, as you have already seen, the fear is still there. Whether we are capable of higher thought or not, we still maintain the simpler brains of our ancestors deep below our more advanced minds. We are still driven to protect ourselves from danger.”
“Can you blame them?” she asked. “Six humans show up, half your size, and blow up a shipping vessel with enough explosives to knock a small moon out of orbit. That would be like Meem's bluebacks going on a rampage and taking out everyone in this facility and most of the city down the beach. I'd be scared to death every time I saw one after that. What about you? It can't be easy working with us after...after that.”
Ardus shrugged. “I sympathize with those who lost loved ones, but I refuse to settle the blame where it does not belong.” Even as he said it, Ardus felt a twinge in his chest. “Perhaps the greatest contribution you can make to the Dreen-human alliance is to show your people that such an option exists. After all, you have already made the choice to come live among creatures much larger and stronger than yourself,” he gestured towards himself, indicating his size and claws, “in spite of the obvious hazard to someone of your stature.”
To his satisfaction and relief, Nina smiled. “I don't know about Dreen, but where I come from ignoring your common sense can get you labeled as either strange or an idiot.”
“I have been called worse.”
The spark had returned to her eyes, and now her mouth curled in a smirk. “You've been called worse than an idiot?” Ardus gave her a narrow-eyed smile, but no answer. Instead, he threw a look over at Nia's workstation. He caught the tail end of Nia's watchful eye. What? I am doing nothing wrong. “Perhaps we should rejoin them,” he said, turning back to the human. She was staring at his clawed fingers in his lap. “Doctor?”
“Hmm? Oh, probably. I'm sure Nia wants to tell me all about the exciting things she's done with my blood.” Ardus watched her slide forward in the chair, her apron and her dress slipping higher on her thighs. “Would you like some help?” Nina paused, her eyes flicking over to the other Dreen. “Um... I think I'm all right.”
I should think more than just all right. Ardus waited for her to pitch forward, his hands itching to catch her. Instead, he curled his fingers and pressed his claws into his palms. Once her feet were safely on the floor he stood, waiting for her to lead the way back to Nia's terminal. He stayed a few steps behind, admiring her hips from a clandestine angle. Just looking, nothing more.
Hi! I'm with Hadcanon again! What about the evil Jian Yuelou? Everyone is alive, Zhan Junbai is good and happy with her husband Yu Tangchun. Bai Jinbo reconciled with his wife and realized that she sincerely loves him. So, at one of the receptions, some official from Hong Kong / or Shanghai / seeing Chen Yuzhi began to show him signs of attention. Yuzhi at first talked sweetly with him, but the interlocutor began to get impudent and tried to hug him in every possible way. Yuzhi politely asked not to do this, but the official did not even think to stop and he was annoyed by the doctor's disobedience. Everyone who saw what was happening tried to stop the insolent man, saying that if Chen Yuzhi's husband saw it, then he was finished. The official didn't believe it and forcefully grabbed Yuzhi's wrist, causing him pain. Zhan Junbai saw this and hurried to Yuzhi's aid. He doesn't like that some scoundrel is bothering his friend and he doesn't want to see his house in the blood of this suicide/he knows the character of his friend, thank you very much/ Yuzhi slapped the official in the face, because this impudent man did not understand the words. When the enraged official wanted to hit the doctor in response, Jian Yuelou, angry as the devil himself, appears. And everyone around is like this: let's remember the idiot, I'll send flowers to his grave, I need to call the morgue. Jian Yuelou did not appreciate that his husband was being molested and ordered him to leave very harshly. The official could not believe that some policeman was ordering him and threatening to fire him. Jian Yuelou only raised an eyebrow. When the insolent man pulls his hands towards Yuzhi again, Yuelou punched him. The official is in shock and calls on others to witness that he was attacked. But everyone just pretended that nothing had happened 😁 Zhan Junbai tells him that if he doesn't disappear, he will provide Jian Yuelou with an alibi if the policeman wants to kill him. The official is furious, but none of the residents of Jingcheng will go against these two. Besides, everyone loves Chen Yuzhi and no one liked the way this scoundrel molested him. The official is promised that he will be provided with problems. But he is furious and does not want to listen and again tries to reach out to Yuzhi. Zhan Junbai at this moment just🤦Jian Yuelou grabs his hand and almost breaking it, drags him to the exit. Yuzhi wants to stop Yuelou, but Junbai won't let him. If a living official in his city is trying to cause trouble for Jian Yuelou, but his boss, when he found out what happened, just laughed, saying, are you seriously going to fight the Jingchen Demon? The government values Jian Yuelou too much, he is the best in the fight against drugs and they forgive him a lot. And his best friend is the Minister of Finance, who are you going to fight with? And Dr. Chen has treated so many influential people, his patients will give you a nightmare in reality.
I rolled up the whole sheet again😁
*gasps and makes grabby hands* Give it to meeeeeeee
Everyone knew about Jiang Yuelou
Everyone knew about him and his love for his husband, Dr. Chen Yuzhi while also knowing about his disastrous temper if Chen Yuzhi was ever bother, harassed, annoyed, or harmed
So, when they all saw an inspector from Hong Kong get…a little too close to Chen Yuzhi at a banquet…they knew shit was about to go down
Chen Yuzhi, on the other hand, didn’t think too much about the inspector (he had overly affectionate patients every now and then so he was used to it) but when the inspector got a little too…handsy, he would say, that’s when he started to get annoyed
“Sir…kindly do not touch me like that”
The inspector raised an eyebrow
“Why not? I’m just being friendly”
Chen Yuzhi narrowed his eyes
“I don’t know if you noticed, but I’m married.  And my husband wouldn’t exactly appreciate you touching me like this”
The inspector, however, just laughed and wrapped an arm around his waist, pulling him close
“I’m not scared of your husband…I doubt he’s that terrifying”
“That’s because you don’t know who his husband is”
Both Chen Yuzhi and the inspector turned to see Zhan Junbai slowly walking over to them, Yu Tangchun at his side
The inspector huffed
“And who is his husband?”
Yu Tangchun chuckled
“A demon”
The inspector stared at him in surprise before he barked out a laugh
“Now that’s a funny joke, Boss Yu.  A demon…hilarious”
While he was distracted by Zhan Junbai and Yu Tangchun, Chen Yuzhi tried to slip away and find Jiang Yuelou, but the inspector realized what he was doing and just grabbed his wrist, stopping him
“Now where do you think you’re going, Dr. Chen?”
Chen Yuzhi’s eyes widened, as did Zhan Junbai’s and Yu Tangchun’s, before he growled and slapped the inspector across the face, startling him as Chen Yuzhi yanked his wrist out of his grasp
“Get away from me”
The inspector looked at him with wide eyes before he growled and raised his hand
“You fucking bi—”
Before he could strike, however, his wrist was grabbed with such force that he nearly lost his balance, making him look over his shoulder to see a man dressed like a gangster standing there, his eyes cold
“You dare”
The inspector looked at him before he huffed and wrenched his wrist out of his grasp and turned to face him
“And just who are you?”
Jiang Yuelou smiled
“Commissioner Jiang Yuelou of the Jing City Police Department”
His smile then fell as his gaze turned deadly
“And Dr. Chen Yuzhi’s husband”
The inspector just looked at him before he laughed, not understanding the severity of the situation while around them, everyone was whispering to themselves, wondering just what Jiang Yuelou would do because again everyone knew about Jiang Yuelou
They knew about his temper and how short and volatile it was
But they also knew that it was nothing compared to the rage that he exuded whenever his beloved doctor, who was also a beloved doctor of Jing City, was hurt or bothered or harassed
Any fool that dared to slander Chen Yuzhi was honestly a dead man walking because the minute Jiang Yuelou got word, he was like a bloodhound, hunting the poor soul down until he found him
What he did with them, no one in Jing City ever knew…because no one in Jing City, no one in their right mind would go after Chen Yuzhi or say anything bad about him
Because how could you?
Chen Yuzhi was the sweetest, most caring doctor in Jing City
He treated people, criminals and non-criminals alike, with the utmost kindness, he gave money out of his own pocket to charities and to those in need…hell, if Chen Yuzhi could give you the shirt off his back, he fucking would
He was too nice
And although some people tried to take advantage of his kindness, Jiang Yuelou and the city wouldn’t let them
Even now, Jiang Yuelou and the city would not let this bastard get away with bothering Chen Yuzhi
They would not allow it
The inspector then looked at Jiang Yuelou before he smirked and stepped forward, getting in his face
“So what if you’re his husband?  What are you going to do to me?”
Jiang Yuelou shook his head
“You really don’t want to know, so I suggest leaving him alone so you won’t have to find out”
The inspector barked out a laugh
“I think I’ll do whatever I want”
He then turned and grabbed Chen Yuzhi, grabbing him hard enough to make him cry out and that was it
That was the straw that broke the camel’s back because before anyone could do or say anything, Jiang Yuelou swung, punching the inspector straight in the face, sending him to the ground
Everyone stared at him in shock, as it was still shocking every time, but they knew in their heart of hearts that the inspector deserved it
He hurt Chen Yuzhi
He was going to pay the price
The inspector then pushed himself to his feet and looked around, looking for any witness, but everyone had gone back to their own conversation, leaving him completely alone
He then blinked in surprise before he turned and glared at Jiang Yuelou
“How dare you.  Do you know who I am?  I can have you fi—”
Before he could finish his sentence, Zhan Junbai stepped in front of Jiang Yuelou and raised an eyebrow at him
“I think you’ve caused enough problems here already…kindly leave or else I will let Commissioner Jiang have his way with you and trust me, you will probably either end up in a hospital or in a ditch…so if you want to live, leave”
The inspector looked at him before he huffed
“Fine”
He then turned and walked away, but as he walked away, he reached out and grabbed Chen Yuzhi by the wrist, beginning to drag him away, much to the horror of everyone in the banquet because obviously he wanted to die and taking Chen Yuzhi was just asking for Jiang Yuelou to murder him
“Let me go!  Let go! Stop!”
The inspector, however, didn’t listen and continued to drag Chen Yuzhi, causing him to growl low in his throat before he raised his arm and chopped the inspector in the back of the neck, sending him to the ground
As soon as he hit the ground, Chen Yuzhi huffed and took a step back, rubbing his wrist as he glared down at the unconscious inspector
“Unbelievable”
Just then, Jiang Yuelou walked over to him and looked at him in concern
“Yuzhi. Are you alright?”
Chen Yuzhi looked at him and nodded
“I’m fine”
Jiang Yuelou then reached out and took his wrist in his hands, looking at how red it was, before he let out a growl and turned to look at the inspector
“Bastard”
“Yuelou, no.  It’s fine, I took care of it—”
Jiang Yuelou, however, didn’t listen and released his wrist as he walked over to the inspector, reaching down to grab him by the back of his suit before he began to drag him away, Chen Yuzhi staring after him with wide eyes
“Jiang Yuelou!”
He then made to go after him when Zhan Junbai walked over to him and placed a hand on his shoulder
“Let him go, Dr. Chen.  I’ll make sure he doesn’t kill him”
Chen Yuzhi huffed but didn’t argue, watching as Zhan Junbai followed after Jiang Yuelou, just as Bai Jinbo stepped over to him, a small frown on his face
“Are you alright, Dr. Chen?”
Chen Yuzhi looked over at him and nodded
“I’m fine…I just hope that Jiang Yuelou doesn’t get in trouble for this”
Bai Jinbo shook his head
“He won’t. Besides, that official started it first…he should have known better”
Chen Yuzhi hummed as Bai Jinbo looked at him
“Let me escort you home”
Chen Yuzhi glanced at him before he nodded, both of them heading out while the banquet continued as if nothing had happened
Later that evening, when Jiang Yuelou returned home, Chen Yuzhi ran over to him and looked him up and down
“Are you hurt?”
Jiang Yuelou laughed
“Me? No.  I’m fine”
Chen Yuzhi looked at him before he huffed
“You didn’t have to do that…”
Before he could finish his sentence, Jiang Yuelou cupped his face in his hands, making him look at him
“Yuzhi. He was bothering you.  He was harassing you.  I absolutely had to do what I did.  Nobody gets to treat you like that and thinks they can get away with it”
Chen Yuzhi looked at him before he laughed softly and reached up to gently grasp his wrists
“Are you a gangster or are you a police commissioner?”
Jiang Yuelou smiled
“Maybe I’m both”
He then leaned forward and gently rested his forehead against Chen Yuzhi’s
“But what I do know is that I am your husband.  And that I love you.  And that I will not let anyone harm you”
Chen Yuzhi smiled and gave his wrists a squeeze, humming softly
“I love you too.  My devilish husband”
Jiang Yuelou laughed softly and pressed a soft kiss to his forehead before he hummed as well
“I will gladly become a demon for you, my love.  Gladly”
And he would
Jiang Yuelou didn’t mind owning up to the name “The Demon of Jing City” if it meant 1) protecting his husband and 2) protecting his city
He would become a demon for Chen Yuzhi and he pitied the fool that tried to harm his husband in any way…because he would show them hell
Hi!! If isn't too much may I ask number 1,11,20,48,69 and 77 for the author ask? Thank you!=)
It is certainly NOT too much to ask! *rubs hands together* Let's do this.
Fanfic asks over here!
1.Do you daydream a lot before you write, or go for it as soon as the ideas strike? Oh I definitely daydream a LOT before I write like god. It's really only when I've been thinking about the idea nonstop for like a week straight that I think I should maybe start writing it soon lol. Even the occasional very rare couple that I get the need to write asap was still only done after half a day of daydreaming the plot and scenes sdkjfhkjdshf. (And for those that are rightfully thinking 'but Lisa, what about the stuff you wrote for past June's when you had to bang out as many ideas as possible?', even those ones I liked to think of an idea for at least a couple of days ahead of when it had to be posted so I could stew on it for a bit) 11. Do you write scenes in order, or do you jump around? Okay, now the correct answer to this is supposed to be the last one. It's the best way of writing hands down and helps you stick with the flow and helps to reduce writing blocks. But my actual answer is that I write everything in order lol. I literally cannot write a scene later in a fic without knowing what exactly the scene just before it was. I need to know what emotions are going into it. Obviously I daydream random scenes out of order in my head, but thats more so I can remember them for when the time comes that I can finally write it down. And yes, sometimes I do get an idea for a scene that would have been perfect earlier on so I inject it and edit the ones afterwards to match, but other than those times everything is written in order because I physically cannot make make myself do otherwise.
20. Do you prefer writing AUs or canon fics? I don't know if I have a preference honestly, I greatly enjoy both. Though I do suppose it depends on what fandom I'm writing for. Any of my Tales of Phantasia stuff I tend to keep canon because it's easiest for me (and being able to play in an actual fantasy world with magic and everything is just so fun), but most of my Until Dawn fics are more AU based now that I think about it. But I think that's mostly because writing canon ud fics means that it's gonna be very hard to write anything that doesn't rely on angst (for obvious reasons lol), so writing a fun fic about shmoopy pining and three nerds just being terrible dorks almost always means it's gonna have to be an AU unfortunately.
48. Who is your favorite character to write for? Has this changed since you’ve started writing for that fandom? Oooooh, this one's a tough one. Mostly because it's impossible for me to narrow it down furthur than Josh, Ashley, and Chris lol. Though I do find it a little harder to get in Josh's head then I do Chris and Ashley admittedly, which is why I have very few fics with him as the view point character. And as for if it's changed? Kind of, I guess? I always knew that Chris and Ashley were gonna be my main favs from the beginning, but for some reason I didn't realize how much fun it was going to be to write them AND Josh together until the first time I did it... which was the very second fic I wrote oops.
69. What are your favorite fics at the moment? ...And this question just got harder all of a sudden lmao. Unfortunately there's not much new going on in the Until Dawn fandom at this time, though as everyone here knows absolutely everything by @queenofbaws is always going to be top contender lol. Antagonish is probably my fav for newest things right now, if only because it's super clear that she is having the absolute time of her life finally being able to write about her favourite things: old men. (As for other fics, got back into the PJO fandom again just recently because of the casting news and I can never turn down some Vex/Percy ala critical role campaign one, but nothing that's jumped out and made me go 'oh my god this is AMAZING' :/)
77. Why do you enjoy writing fanfiction? I've always been aware that I'm not the most creative person out there, but thanks to ADHD I'm always daydreaming and lost in thought, so I gotta get all these ideas out somehow! And, even though I sometimes think that I can't do the ideas I have justice, I do think that the ideas themselves are good so I want to share them! The fact that other people may hopefully have as much fun reading it as I did writing is only a bonus baby!
"A Half-baked puppet" aka: what was Touya talking about in 351?
In 351, Touya really tears into Shoto (both physically and verbally) and I've seen a lot of confusion over the verbal aspect of things. What was the driving factor behind his words? What exactly got him so upset? Let's figure it out:
This chapter is kind of hard to read because Shoto and Touya discuss a million topics all at once, so let's narrow it down to the single conversation that leads to the "half-baked puppet" comment. I think the key to Touya's frustrations comes from these lines:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
His annoyance seems to come from the fact that Shoto has the perfect body and was given everything needed to succeed (a good school that would promote him) and yet, in Touya's eyes, he seems to think Shoto "wasted" these opportunities by continuing to depend on others rather than using them to make something of himself.
"You sure don't capitalize on it" = you just copy dad and do everything he says. You have not done anything on your own to use your powers to their fullest potential. You are wasting such a good power by being someone's puppet, rather than making something of yourself.
Remember: all Touya ever wanted was to be seen and to be a good hero who surpassed All Might. I'm sure at some point it crossed his mind that, if he had the perfect quirk and body, he'd have easily accomplished this goal. Instead, he's had to work, struggle, and burn himself to get to the point he's at.
Shoto, meanwhile, had everything Touya wanted, but did nothing with it; he just copied Endeavor. He worked at his dad's agency (both during the Stain incident AND during work studies, which Dabi actually saw thanks to Hawks' footage), he uses his dad's moves, he even has a similar costume. Let's not forget this beauty from 345:
Tumblr media
Touya believes Shoto has "taken the easy way" by letting everything happen for him without doing anything himself. Dabi saw Shoto as a puppet molded by Endeavor, and as such he doesn't think Shoto has done anything beyond what his father arranged. Meanwhile, Touya had worked hard to improve his flames despite being a "failure".
The irony, of course, is that Shoto has done things on his own, Touya just doesn't know because it was never publicized. For example, Shoto's choice to intern/work study with Endeavor looks very puppet-esque on the surface. It's only after Shoto explains his motivations that you realize this really was an independent choice. Touya never saw this because of course he didn't. None of Shoto's internal conflict was put on the news, only the end result. He only ever saw Shoto following dad around during internships, not the reasoning behind this.
The other irony is that Touya is the one copying Endeavor. Yes, Touya has 100% trained himself and improved his power on his own, but he is entirely reliant on copying Endeavor's moves. Every named attack Touya has ever done in the series has come from Endeavor. This does not mean Touya has been "depending on everyone else"; Touya still had to work super hard on his own to get to this point, but he is very much influenced by his father.
Basically: Shoto was trained by Endeavor and has to work to be individual, Touya had to train himself and chose to be more like Endeavor. They're opposites.
Yet Shoto agrees that he's "half-baked" because, to an extent, Touya is right; Shoto has taken his situation for granted (i.e. his perfect body and quirk). In 351, Shoto acknowledges Touya in this exchange:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shoto's response to "you'll never make a damn thing of yourself" is "You're not wrong about me. I took the long way around, and was full of doubt all the while." I believe "the long way" in question here is that Shoto did indeed act as Endeavor's puppet for the majority of his life. He was on track to never making anything of himself. He was full of doubt because he knew he didn't want to be like his dad (and this manifested in his stubbornness to only use ice) but he didn't know what else to do. It wasn't until he realized "it's his power" that he realized he could be the kind of hero he (Shoto) wanted to be.
Tl;dr From Touya's perspective, Shoto was a puppet who had everything handed to him and never had to work hard to get to where he is, yet squandered this by (seemingly) never working to be anything more, whereas Touya has had to fight constantly (both against enemies and against his own body) to be where he is today.
Tumblr media
you realize it now.
after living side by side with mr. choi soobin and his son, beomgyu, for a couple of weeks, you’ve started to realize something quite interesting.
1. your mother has a liking for tall lean men.
2. she also has a liking for trying to set you up with the tall lean mens’ son.
now, you wouldn't say you're exactly opposed to getting close to beomgyu. he's conventionally attractive and he seems like a nice boy but you're very much more attracted to the one who created him. it made sense after all.
"give these to mr. choi for me?" your mother all but shoves the roses and chocolates in your arms. you look down quizzically at such gifts. "it's not valentine's day.." you trail off.
you have a strange feeling that soobin would be put off by such acts, not seeming to be as out there as your mother. she doesn't care.
"it's fathers day..well it was...yesterday," she shrugs, fixing her bombshell red lipstick. why was she doing herself up? well a certain mr. choi was coming over.
despite the fact that your own father was out of the picture, that didn't stop your mom from wanting to celebrate every holiday in existence. unfortunately, the only willing father in town to partake in your mother's antics was mr. choi.
he liked to rile her up, you notice. soobin liked to toy with your mother's clear affection towards him, just as he did you. he also liked to throw it in your face sometimes. you didn't say what you observed but you knew he liked to make her feel wanted by a much younger, much more handsome man.
without another word, you decide to give the outlandish gifts to your neighbor. you sigh, looking down at the gifts. some assorted chocolates, nice flower arrangements, and what seems to be a sealed note? you want to roll your eyes but a part of you wonders if soobin would really like these kinds of things.
when you get to the door and ring the bell, the door swings open and there's stands the man himself. he's more put together than you at the moment so you feel out of place even at the front step of his house.
"always a pleasant surprise~" he smiles. his eyes trail down to the gifts in your arms. "for me?" his eyes grow wide and his pouty lips, the ones which you suddenly can't stop staring at since they seemed to be stained cherry red, lay slightly agape.
"from my mom," you deadpan, holding the gifts out. "she's generous~" "overbearing," you correct. "we seem to have different views then," he shrugs. "where's my gift from you though? this can't be all," he ponders in faux thought.
you smile shyly, looking down in embarrassment. "what did you get me baby?" he teasingly leans down closer to you to properly see your face. "could it be perhaps-"
before soobin can place a hand on you, beomgyu comes from downstairs. he's looking sharp, which suits him a lot, you admit. his hair is parted, giving you a teasing view of his forehead. regardless of the fact that he's wearing casual clothes, a stark contrast from his father who dawns an all black attire, beomgyu still manages to make it work for him.
"we'll be seeing you at the dinner," soobin clears his throat, noticing your apparent staring at his son. you can tell that he feels off put by your slight attraction to beomgyu. however small or minuscule it may be its still there to him.
the dinner goes almost exactly how you thought it would. soobin and your mother hit it off, talking about whatever they could to distract themselves from their children for a while. to your surprise soobin barely interacts with you. he seems too occupied with entertaining your mom to pay you any mind.
you're not sure why but this bothers you. beomgyu is occupied in the bathroom at the moment so you can't help but glance in their direction every couple of seconds. your mom is currently leaning against soobin's broad shoulder, laughing at something he's previously said. so he’s a comedian.
you watch as he looks down at her with a satisfied smile on his face. you bite the inside on your cheek and as if on cue, soobin looks up in your direction and smirks. it's almost as if he's taunting you. you bite down harder until you taste something metallic in your mouth.
you're not sure where this feeling of jealously is coming from and you know it's not healthy but you can't help it. maybe you've gotten too attached to your older neighbor in these past couple of weeks.
beomgyu comes out of the restroom with a sigh, walking back into the living room where you are. he can feel a weird tension in your general area but decides not to comment on it. suddenly you stand up, catching beomgyu off guard.
"come on beomgyu!" you say loud enough for everyone to hear especially soobin. the man in question practically pauses in speech midway to look over at you and his son. he eyes you both, mainly giving you a glare that will be engraved in your mind but you don't care. he needs a taste of his own medicine.
"come on let's go to my room, i need to show you something~" you urge him along. meanwhile, you say those words while staring straight at soobin. you hear your mom assure him that it's ok, "the kids are doing their own thing." you knew you were being childish and petty but if soobin wanted to fuck around with you this is what he would have to deal with as well.
you drag beomgyu along to your room who seems quite eager to be in this position. all he knows is that there's a weird tension between you and his father but that's as far as his knowledge goes.
when you both arrive at your room you close the door behind you and lean back on it. "is everything alright?" beomgyu hesitantly asks. you sigh, ushering him along to sit on the bed with you. he looks around subtly at all the little items in your room. everything seems to reflect you well, in his opinion. "well.." you try to stall.
you look up at him through your lashes. "you like me right?" beomgyu stares at you with wide eyes, "i-i mean yeah?" he stutters at your boldness.
"then lets try something," you smile at him, casually pulling your shirt over your head. "let's see how long it takes for your dad to come see us in this position," you say to yourself.
soobin doesn't need to be a rocket scientist to know what's going on here. he knows you're being a brat on purpose but he doesn't care because it makes it all the more fun. he will say he's surprised that you're using beomgyu, his own son, to get to him.
at first, he was getting annoyed with how you seemed to take a liking for his son which is why he wanted to rile you up by seeming extra interested in whatever your mom had to say. now, however, he knew he had a plan for that. you were not going to outsmart him, he wouldn't allow it and he would just have to put you in your place.
"excuse me but i need to use your restroom," soobin makes up a bullshit excuse to get to where you are. "oh of course!" your mom nods at him, instructing him towards the one upstairs. perfect.
"ill just finish up the dinner then!" your mother offers. "great that's enough time to put this slut in her place," he thinks. he smiles at your mom heading for upstairs.
"beomgyu you look like you just saw a ghost," you chuckle lightly, looking down at him. "y/n," he groans at the sight of only seeing you in your bra. he reaches up to grab your breasts, fondling them as delicately as possible. "you can be rough," you offer.
without even bothering to knock on the door, soobin opens it to see you both on the bed in a lewd position. you shirtless on top of beomgyu. he sucks his teeth when you both look back in alarm at the door being burst open. "y/n," he chuckles, almost sadistically.
you can already see the look in his eyes and suddenly you feel bad for not only yourself but beomgyu as well. you try to subtly grab your shirt again in shame but soobin's glare stops you. "what do you think you're doing little slut?" he folds his arms over his chest. not even caring that beomgyu is in the room, he walks over to you and grabs your hair causing you to yelp in surprise.
"s-sir.." soobin narrows his eyes at you then they flit over to beomgyu. "sit over there," he motions to the beanbag in the corner of the room. "i want you to learn something from this." without another word, beomgyu scrambles over to the seat, his heart beating in fear and excitement strangely.
you feel heat rising up your neck and to your cheeks as well as your dripping pussy. "don't be embarrassed, im sure this was your plan all along," soobin tsks, shoving your face down into the sheets. you breathe out when he rips the skirt and underwear from your body without a second thought. the racy thong that was supposed to be his surprise for father's day discarded in a second.
"soobin-" a smack to your ass. "that's not my name."
he doesn't even give you a chance to correct yourself, messing with your sticky juices before entering his cold fingers into your hole. you try to stifle your moan by burying your head further into the sheets.
"god you're so wet," soobin comments. he slowly moves his finger in and out for a while, practically torturing you with how meticulous and slow he's being. "please," you whine pathetically. "please what?" he slows his movements to stare at you with a raised eyebrow.
"please f-fuck me, please, i need your cock," you beg shamelessly. beomgyu breathes heavily, trying to forget about his growing boner but not being able to ignore it. he painfully wants to do something about it but he's not sure if he's allowed to touch himself.
he opts for subtly dragging his hand to his clothed crotch and palming himself through his pants, as uncomfortable as it is. in the meantime, soobin rids himself of his own pants, shaking his head.
he lightly smacks your throbbing pussy and you jolt. "do you seriously think you deserve it? fuck, look at you, can’t wait to be fucked like a bitch in heat~" you whine, wiggling your ass wordlessly in his face to hopefully get what you want.
soobin rubs your clit with narrowed eyes, making sure beomgyu is watching. he could care less that beomgyu is touching himself. he drags some of your cum from your hole to your clit and sighs. "alright then.."
he aligns himself with your hole and without another word slips his cock in with ease, completely bottoming out.
you want to scream at how big he is but you're only left with ragged pants as you know you're unable to make any loud noises. it seriously feels like you could be torn apart at any minute but you love the feeling of soobin’s cock filling you out.
"you're so tight seriously," soobin breathes. he can barely move at first. the way his dick fits inside of your pussy perfectly. he almost wants to comment about how you were practically made for him. he's sure if he flips you over right now, he would see the outline of his cock in your womb.
after waiting a bit for you to adjust to his length he finally starts moving. "shit-" he breathes. you have to grip the sheets to stop yourself from yelling. soobin's hands find their way to your waist and when you look to the side just for a split second you can see beomgyu fighting for his life to not moan out loud.
"look beomgyu-" soobin says in between jagged breaths. "if you wanna fuck around with his pathetic slut this is how you treat her." a moan gets caught in your throat when soobin pounds into you at once. "ah- i-" a part of you wants to apologize and is trying to but he won't give you a chance to speak.
"isn't that right my slutpuppy? did you have something to add?" at the sound of the nickname your walls tighten around him and he sends a harsh smack to your ass. "you're enjoying this aren't you?" he rolls his eyes and sighs heavily.
soobin thrusts start getting faster and faster, beomgyu watching with his mouth agape at his father kissing and sucking at your neck to muffle his own moans. beomgyu can only bite his lip and noises from his throat barely pass his lips as he reaches his high.
soobin growls at seeing your eyes focus on beomgyu so he starts slamming his cock into you at an animalistic pace and you think you might break.
beomgyu bucks into his hand as he cums from the sound and sight of skin slapping added with the tiny noises you'd make. not too long after you feel yourself shudder, unable to warn soobin that you had come you squeeze your eyes shut and let out a whine instead.
"fuck- ok baby," soobin understands as soon as your walls squeeze around him. he pants a couple a times and as soon as he reaches his high he pulls out, pumping his cock to let his cum shoot out on your ass.
"s-sir," you moan. "shhh it's ok." soobin sighs heavily, coming down from his own high to tend to your broken state. he looks over at beomgyu, who's head is lulled to the side as he gazes at your sweat and semen covered body.
soobin sucks his teeth deciding not to say anything to the boy and let him chill for a minute. he shrugs his pants back on and carries you in his arms to the nearest bathroom.
you cozy up to his warm embrace, letting out a sigh. "baby we need to clean you off.." you hear him whisper. you almost completely forget that there's a dinner that's supposed to be happening and you cant just go to sleep with soobin like you'd want.
a sudden coldness hits your body and you shiver. "ok," you agree. his cum is already starting to dry on you and you want nothing more than to be cleaned like he offers. you're not sure how you'll explain your change of clothes to your mom but you're sure you'll come up with something later.
no words need to be spoken after what happened and you're glad because you're not sure what to say. soobin doesn't seem keen on talking at the moment either, too focused on cleaning you off, so you decide to stay quiet.
it's silent in the bathroom until you both hear your mother all out. "dinner's ready!"
you chuckle, breaking the silence as soobin looks up at you with a questioning eyebrow. “happy father’s day.”
Dear Father [Genshin Impact/Diluc x Reader]
Tumblr media
Synopsis: Wherever you are wherever you may be, even if you are beyond my reach, I only wish to see you again. -from a letter lost in the wind.
(A story where you and Diluc somehow managed to meet Crepus)
Genre: all fluff
"I know how late I am to father's day but here's my father's day take on Genshin Impact! Just let Diluc be happy for once T_T Mihoyo pls."
============================
Discovering Master Crepus' old belongings was like wandering in a domain surrounded by ancient artifacts. Each piece holding the memory of someone you've never met.
The paintings. Master Crepus loved to paint. Typically birds were the main muse of this portraits since they deeply embodied Mondstadt's values for freedom which shows you how much he cherished this city just like his son did. In almost every hallway you walked through there was a collection of his paintings, some belonged to another artist but the majority was an original work. Diluc didn't have the heart to sell them.
Elzer. He was one of the oldest workers who served under the Ragnvindr name, ever since Master Crepus had appointed him during his earlier days. You were told that he treated everyone, both staff and noble, with equal respect. Almost all the denizens of Mondstadt knew this man for he was not only noble in riches but also in the soul.
"I'm sure he would have loved to meet you in person. Now that I think about it, you and Master Crepus are quite similar. Haha, it seems that Master Diluc was selective in terms of who he wanted for his future bride."
Elzer adds with a light chuckle but the statement only made you more curious. A man who affected the lives of so many others, he must have been a wonderful person.
Diluc. The bloodline Master Crepus left behind after his death, a piece of himself and the heir to the whole wine industry, his son Diluc. Although you could see the resemblance in appearance, both of them were men of prinicples and values, putting Mondstadt first before anything else and you suddenly realized if that was the reason why Diluc was so protective of this city. As if, it were everything he had? You could tell he loved Master Crepus very much, not because he said so, rather the painful expression buried deep within his crimson glare whenever someone brought up the topic. Diluc was skilled in hiding himself, it's something he practiced over the years of working alone, though he lowered his guard as long as you were the only one present.
Even so, he had many conflicts still wringing him internally and you didn't want to push him until the day he felt ready to personally tell you himself.
But it would be nice if he opened up, just a little bit.
There were times when you would worry since Diluc had the tendency to hide his feelings for the sake of not troubling you. He wanted to keep life simple and bright, bringing the best to the table while making sure that you lived safely out of harm's way. You couldn't seem to get him to understand that as lovers, you would be happy to help him, in anything. Unconditionally. It was natural for you to feel the need to force yourself in every once in a while and there was nothing more you wanted to know than the story of the man who raised him.
You would even jest on the idea of what it fel like to meet Master Crepus in person. Were you able to reach his standards by any chance? Would he have liked you just as everyone claimed? Of course, they were only silly indulgent thoughts so you quickly dismissed them in the end. Bringing back the past was impossible no matter how badly you wanted it. You closed your heart on that possibility.
On a lovely evening, while you and Diluc were taking your time off Angel's Share to make a stroll around Mondstadt's quiet streets, a strange merchant called over to you. She displayed various antiques ranging from different sizes to designs, none of them seemed to haven been carved in the same place but distinct cultures throughout Teyvat. The only thing they had in common was that they were all equally beautiful to the eye.
However a particular item of what looks like to be a heart locket snatches your attention and you instantly became mesmerized, allured by it's mysterious charm.
"Ah, the locked heart caught your fancy, my lady? It's said once you open it, you will be set free."
"It's magnificent..." you muttered, staring unabashed at the shining surface.
Diluc who was observing from behind folded his arms and tilts his head, "How much is that?"
Although you intended to simply inspect the choices, your lover immediately offers to pay. They all already gave the impression of a hefty price and you didn't want him to spend his fortune on things that deemed unecessary. Still, this wasn't the first time it happened. Diluc would always insist whenever you protested against him from buying anything, it was just a way of expressing his affections towards you. Mora was never a problem and you were priceless. That's how he sees things. You had to remind yourself to be careful when stumbling upon a bustling area full of salesmen next time.
"Five hundred thousand mora."
He purchased it without hesitation.
On your way home, Diluc noticed that something was amiss. You couldn't tear your gaze from the locket as if it had hypnotized you by the golden smooth surface. He had to ensure you didn't run into anyone by accident, tugging your arm closer so that it gave him an opportunity to lead you where you yourself could not. Surely it must have been the appearance but instead of being drawn by, you were drawn in. Completely.
I wonder...what will happen if I open it?
"(Y/n)?" Diluc narrows his eyebrows together. Did you like it that much? No, he knew you weren't the type to be so etranced by jewelry, this was certainly different. Even the merchant seemed a little suspicious when she approached you and Diluc couldn't ignore the heavy sense of aminosity that was emitted around her aura. He couldn't think within her presence but now that his mind was much clearer, he was able to use his skillful judgements.
"Wait...! Don't open it yet-"
However, he was too late.
The wind picks up at an alarming speed and you both brought up your arms to block the debris that had flown in the way. They swirled in non-stop motion until your worlds were engulfed with not even the sky in sight. Amidst the turmoil Diluc latchest onto you and holds your body close his chest as he was determined to protect against any force that dared to hurt you. Something heavy knocks his head and he winces, tighting his hold even further. Your voice could hardly be heard with all the noise that rung around and eventually you discovered the the world wasn't disappearing. You both were.
The last thought you had was the image of Master Crepus and you didn't know why.
---
"Diluc? Diluc?"
He faintly heard his name through a series of echoes. Diluc fights to regaind concousness, feeling your grip upon his shoulder while trying to urge him awake.
"Diluc are you alright?"
Your worried face was the first thing he sees other than the fog that looms above. Diluc blinks a few times in an attempt to ease his migraine, using one arm to force his body into a seating position as he allowed himself to be supported by you at the same time.
"Does your head hurt?" You ask, palming gently against his forehead to feel the heat. Even if her was usually very warm, there was no unusual rise in tempurature, something must have hit him instead, "Here, maybe this will help."
Bringing out your hand you concentrated on generating the water through your fingertips. Having a hydro vision meant you were capable of healing magic which Diluc appreciated since he often came home late at night with injuries hidden behind his sleeves. But nothing came out and he became even more suspicious of the situation.
"Eh? What's going on?" You blurted out, patting down your clothes and your pockets, "My Vision, it's gone too!"
"Mine as well," Diluc flexes his fingers to test his own element, "It seems that our powers were sealed once we entered this domain."
"A domain that prevents you from using a Vision? That doesn't sound very comforting," you scratched your head, suddenly remembering the cause of your current problem, "The locket...it's all starting to make sense now. Ugh, I should have listened to you earlier, I'm sorry Diluc."
"No (Y/n), you don't have to apologize," he interjects and you returned a curious glance, "I should have stopped you the minute I discovered there was something strange. I was too careless."
"You felt that too? I thought I was the only one," your tone and face mimics one of surprise. The fog continues to dance around, enclosing the two of you to the small area. You lifted your head and looked above in deep contemplation, "When I saw the locket I couldn't tear my eyes off of it, like something was pulling me in. Like...there was a spell casted on it."
"What do you mean?" he asked in an inquisitive manner.
You nod, "I can't put my finger on it bit Ifel that the locket wanted me to..." balling your fist upon your lap, you stared intensely at the floor as if drilling holes into them while digging into the depths of your mind for any specific clues. Initially you thought the locket was so captivating that you were simply charmed by it's craftmanship. But tere was more than that, you began deciphering, there was also a need for fulfillment. A yearning desire, "to know. The locket was calling me to know."
'Once you open it, you will be set free.'
"To know..." you trailed off. How strange. No matter how much you tried to rationalize, you were always brought back to the same square as if the locket knew exactly what you wanted. What you were lacking. Because the one thing you wanted to know most about was the person you've never met, "Someone very important to you."
The fog dispersed.
Diluc instinctively puts an arm in front of you defensively as he scanned his quick and thorough eyes around the area. It didn't take long for him to know exactly where everything was. In fact, the abrupt change isn't what puts him on high alert, but it was how familiar everything looked to the point he evaluates if there was any reason to be skeptical or if he should be breathtaken.
"What a beautiful house," However you didn't recognize it. Diluc knew because he had yet to meet you during the time he lived in this estate, "I wonder who does it belong to?"
"Father's old mansion...how?" Diluc breatlessly mutters, as if seeing the supremecy of Celestia for the first time. When years passed after his father died, he chose to sell off the majority of his belongings, the mansion being on for example. Currently it was in the possession of a well-known business associate that used to be a friend of Crepus. The mansion would likely have looked much different due to the renovations it gone through but Diluc remembers the picture as if this were yesterday. Everything was in tact. The vine yard, the gazebo where they drank tea, the hill that he and Kaeya used to race on when they were kids-
Revelation burns in his pupils as his eyes expanded.
"Welcome home, my son."
Both you and Diluc fall wordless at the sight that appeared like a miracle's blessing. Crepus stands at a distance, the graceful smile complimenting his warm features. He looked exactly how the court artists portrayed him in the Ragnvindr's family picture. Sharp face with gentle eyes and an aura that was as pleasant as what Elzer described.
"So this is why the locket was calling to us," you whispered, "I guess the mora really was worth it after all."
"...Fa...ther...."
You snuck a glance at Diluc. From behind the resemblance was as clear as dawn, like you were staring at a carbon copy of Master Crepus himself. Almost. He was a less hardened version of Diluc during uncommon situations. It made you think just how much you didn't know before his father passed away. What kind of person was this man during his days as a knight? You never had the chance to know.
"Father is that really you?" Diluc couldn't help his voice from trembling, paralyzed in place when he could hardly make sense of what stands in front of him. The person he longed to hear from, the person who left the world too quick, Diluc was afraid to get his hopes up in case his father suddenly disappeared and everything was just an illusion conjured by his mind. He was already used to being betrayed and dealt with disappointment too often. Which is why he learned to trust only himself. But, right now, can he really trust himself?
Feeling your hand gently on his shoulders, Diluc was brought back to reality. You smiled with warm reassurance that bled into your voice, "It's okay Diluc. Go, I'm here for you."
There was the faintest light shining in his eyes as emotions swell in his chest. Ever since you came Diluc never had to feel alone anymore, truly, you were the light that was brought back into his eyes, to his life when he gave up the thought of seeing it again. If he couldn't trust himself then at the very least, he could trust you.
"Thank you," he embraces you wholly like you were everything, and you were, before letting go and taking off to the otherside.
The air hits him in a rush and knocks the ones out of his lungs, "Father!" Diluc yells with tearful eyes. For the first time in a long while he was finally letting his feelings run free, "Father!" A name that felt foreign upon words that is pushes him forward, wanting to claim the truth that was smiling from afar.
"Father!"
Crepus lifted his arms and openly catches Diluc when he crashed into him. Here. He was here. He certainly was.
"Haha its been a while hasn't it my son?" He begins, encasing Diluc in a hug like he did the day he turned eighteen. Crepus was a tall man and his genes seemed to have went through. Back when they were younger, Diluc managed to only reach the blade of his shoulders, just barely. Now they were practically the same height, "Look how much you've grown over the years. There were so many things I planned to say but I don't know where to start."
Seven years. That was how long Crepus spent alone with his thoughts. He saw what happened through that time span, the truth about the Knights and Kaeya's origins. To say that none of that bothered him would be a lie. Especially when his son was the most impacted throughout all the events.
"Father I...I-" Diluc tries to speak but the words dissolved the moment it reached his tongue. He wasn't the type to be very good at expressing emotions. None of it could simply be communicated by sentences. For him, actions spoke louder yet somehow, they still wouldn't be enough. Nothing can comprehend the weight of seven years.
Crepus seemed to have understood and fills in the gap instead, "I have also missed you and Kaeya. More than I can even say. It must have been so hard for you both to endure it all by yourselves. Life hits us when we least expect it but despite that, you still chose to persevere."
Diluc clenches his hold, face buried in his shoulders and mouth quivering as he barely answers, "Yeah."
"You're both my pride and joy no matter what happens, as a father I cannot be more proud," before knowing, everything that was said came out naturally from his spirit. Crepus may have his own set of things to share but he knew what Diluc needed the most, "So please don't stop relying on one another, don't always think that you have to do everything alone. Stength is a virtue. However, its okay to let go and allow new people to come into your life. I don't need to be avenged, as long as you and Kaeya are happy, its all I ask for."
As if the world had been lifted from his shoulders, Diluc allows himself to break just this once. On the outside, he was known to be an unstoppable force, the Mondstadt tycoon, the uncrowned king and a hero who serves at night. But here you saw only a boy who dearly missed his father as he hugs him tightly. Although you couldn't hear their conversation clearly, just watching them from where you stood was enough to make your eyes glisten from pure happiness.
"You finally chose to open your heart, right Diluc?" You quietly note to yourself, "You don't have to carry everything by yourself anymore, you're free."
'Once you open it, you will be set free.'
He was able to dwell in this one in a lifetime experience, all because you unlocked the heart and dispersed the fog inside.
They spent a good amount of minutes bringing the distance back together after being seperated for so many years. You made sure to make minimal movements in the consideration of their time. It was only temporary until Crepus noticed you standing in the distance and he gave you a quick glance. Your whole body tenses in response, suddenly feeling guilty as if you were a third wheel who didn't belong in the moment between two family members.
He's staring at me. Diluc's father is staring at me! Your thoughts panicked along with your thrumming heart. What should I do?!!
"I see you've brought someone along with you," He comments, the playfulness rising in his tone, "She seems to have been waiting for quite a while already. If you don't mind, may you do the honours of introducing her to me?"
Diluc turns to see you stiffened in place with your hands tightly clasped below your stomach and heat pooling from your ear to your cheeks as you dipped your head down. His father was a kind man and he couldn't understand there the discomfort came from, yet found it endearing nonetheless. Diluc walks over to you and extends his hand, silently urging you to come with him. You complied, albeit hesitantly at first.
"It'll be okay my love," he whispered softly, causing you to be taken aback by the nickname he called you by. Diluc often reserves them for special instances and this was one of them, "Whatever the staff told you about my father, they're the truth. Trust in their judgement. Trust in me."
"Diluc..." you say, voice fading. You knew him to be someone who always kept his word and someone who would never lie to you. Taking in a short breath, you nodded, "Alright, I will," and followed his lead.
There was once a time where you indulged in the idea of facing Master Crepus in person. But never did you prepare yourself for the amount of pressure it came with. Now that you were together with his son, there was a high chance that he would also become part of his family too, sooner or later. You weren't just meeting Master Crepus. You were also meeting your future father-in-law.
"Father, this is (Y/n)," Diluc starts the welcoming exchanges. You felt his hand squeeze yours gently. He turns to you so that you caught glimpse of his face, seeing the reverance in his gaze that was hinted among his handsome features, "She's the woman I fell in love with and I would do anything to make her happy. I cherish her more than anything else."
"D-Diluc!" you flushed, your embarassment as red as his own hair. But he wasn't bothered by it in the slightest.
"I only speak the truth."
Master Crepus lets out a content chuckle, drawing both of your attentions back to him, "He can be surprising poetic sometimes but I'm sure that he got it from me. Even my wife reacted the same way," he reminisced shortly before sighing, "In truth I already knew that you were together. Staying in the after life gave me the chances to watch things from an omniscient standpoint, I was sincerely worried how Diluc would handle things when I suddenly left, I hope you don't mind. If you do, I apologize for making you uncomfortable."
"N-Not at all!"
"Haha, you're very kind. Thank you. I'm glad that my son was able to find a woman like you to be his fated partner. As a parent, it brings me great reassurance," Crepus remarked, "I know he can be stubborn and a little too headstrong when it comes to making decisions. It really must be a handful for you to deal with at times but I promise you that he means well. So please continue to watch over him in my stead, take care of my son while I'm gone."
"You can count on me," you beamed, "I'll give it my all."
"You have my gratitude (Y/n)," Crepus replies and turned to Diluc, "And listen to her every once in a while. I may have been the previous owner of our wine industry but even I always make sure to get me sufficient amount of rest. Son you know its bad to get two to three hours of sleep every day."
You blinked, "Two to three hours?"
Diluc clears his throat, "I understand Father. You don't have to say it."
Oh I think he does.
With a satisfied grin, Crepus took both of your hands together in his and gave you his blessings. The man once considered to be an artifact through the vast mansion was going to be part of the memories in your life. All of your expressions held as much happiness as the future can become now that he gave you the closure you both needed.
Operation: Dairy For Dazai
>>>a dazai osamu x reader<<<
request: "omg i love your post about Dazai and his possibility of having lactose intolerance hahaha, i wish you could do a fanfic out from that"
a/n: um this is such a great idea??? this was so much fun to write omg i hope y'all like it! also i know dazai doesn't necessarily drink coffee with milk and sugar/creamer, but for the sake of the story he does! also sorry if the gif looks weird, i couldn't find his weird little run anywhere else.
synopsis: no one has seen dazai drink milk or consume dairy of any kind...it's up to the agency to figure out if dazai is lactose intoleralnt or not!
warnings: one swear word, dazai not being able to handle dairy
Tumblr media
"hey atsushi, you ever notice that dazai doesn't consume dairy?"
"what do you mean, y/n?" atsushi asks, glancing up at you from the computer.
"think about it. have you ever seen dazai drink milk? eat cheese? buy ice cream?" you press on, raising your brows.
atsushi takes a second to think before responding with, "now that you mention it, no i haven't...why are you asking anyway?"
"i think dazai is lactose intolerant."
you now have atsushi's full attention as he rolls closer to your desk and furrows his brows. he looks around the room for the brunette you're talking about before turning back to you, "you think so? i don't know...maybe it's like a dietary thing."
you deadpan, "you really think the man who goes out of his way to try new attempts at committing suicide--the one who came into the office with a hallucinogenic mushroom from a random mountain--is concerned with his own nutrition?"
atsushi goes silent and nods his head in agreement.
"come on, atsushi. i mean, why would that be the one thing out of his entire diet that he'd choose to cut out?"
"that's true, i've seen the kinds of things he eats...but why is this something you're interested in?"
"because, atsushi, the thought of THE dazai osamu even having one slight weakness--and the fact that it very well may be dairy, of all things-- is amusing. you don't find it interesting? that he can survive things like bullet wounds and getting kidnapped without any problem, but a glass of milk could completely ruin him?"
atsushi was beginning to take interest in what you were talking about. you had a point, he couldn't deny that. they don't know much about dazai and his life as it is. just as it began clicking in his brain, kunikida walks over to your desk to tell you both to get back to work. at the sound of his footsteps, you turn towards him and before he can say anything at all, you ask him the same question as atsushi. kunikida has a smiliar reaction and response to atsushi, which just adds to the curiosity of dazai's possible dairy problem.
"i don't pay attention to that idiot's diet anyway, nor do i care." he says matter-of-factly.
anyone could tell that kunikida was slightly interested, just by the way he was continuing to linger by your desk as you continued talking about it with atsushi. soon enough, tanizaki had joined the conversation; then ranpo and kenji, and soon everyone in the agency other than fukuzawa. everyone was huddled around your desk, sharing memories of dazai's lack of dairy consumption. it was then decided that this theory of dazai being lactose intolerant would be put to the test when dazai returned to the office.
ranpo had come up with the idea, it wasn't too elaborate but a simple plan that could trick even the likes of dazai into drinking a glass of milk. during the discussion of dazai's dietary habits, it was also brought to everyone's attention by kunikida that it seems dazai doesn't have a high spice tolerance either. with that in mind, the plan was for the agency to have a joint dinner tonight, with curry on the menu tonight; spicy curry to be exact. dazai always flirts with you in the office, so it was your job to distract him by indulging in his pick-up lines and such. once he takes a bite and realizes it's too spicy for him, he'd try to find water to alleviate the pain, but coincidentally there is no water in sight. because of this, he'd be forced to drink the glass of milk you hand him. of course, if this didn't work, for dessert you'd give him a cup of coffee with milk and sugar (he uses non-dairy creamer in his coffee anyway).
you and kyouka set up a table to put the bowls of curry on, while atsushi and kunikida began bringing in the curry. tanizaki, naomi, and ranpo were in charge of getting the desserts to really sell the image of a nice gathering. kenji and yosano were in charge of tinkering with the water pipes to close off any possibility of access to water. this task was treated with such care, as any mission brought into the agency would be. each and every one of you were interested in learning about this side of dazai; are you going the extra mile for such a minuscule detail of someone's life? yes, but will it be amusing to find out the truth? also yes.
soon enough, dazai is spotted out the window. the truth is about to be revealed, and you are all nervous but excited.
"remember guys, act natural! operation: dairy for dazai starts now!" you exclaim quietly.
you can hear everyone take a deep breath and begin "talking" amongst themselves as dazai walks in. he stops in his tracks as he eyes the table holding all the bowls of curry and widens his eyes in surprise.
"oh? what's this?" he asks, gesturing to the table.
"y/n suggested having dinner in the agency tonight, so we got some curry and desserts." atsushi explains.
"have a bowl, dazai-kun." you smile at him as you hand him the bowl of spicy curry.
"ah, you're too nice, my belladonna!" he exclaims and grabs the bowl.
so far so good, you think.
you can feel the tension in the room as everyone waits for dazai to take a bite. the conversations carry on amongst people, but no one was truly paying attention to what was being said. the gazes of each member of the agency shifted to dazai as he raised the spoon up to his mouth. you could hear the sound of everyone in the room holding their breaths, even kunikida was sweating.
once the spoon had been placed in his mouth, everyone froze in place. you and atsushi tried to pretend to not be paying much attention to dazai, but it was so hard not to when all of a sudden he stopped chewing. you both slowly turn your head towards him and see his eyes go wide once again. he hurries to the nearest trashcan and spits out the spoonful, quickly turning and looking for a cup of water on the table.
"w-what's wrong, dazai-san?" atsushi asks, also sweating.
"h-hot! spicy curry! atsushi-kun, i need water! please!" dazai exclaims.
you run to the table and pretend to look for a cup of water before grabbing the glass of milk and hurrying towards dazai.
"sorry dazai-kun, i couldn't find any water, but i heard milk helps with the pain!" you hold out the glass of milk.
it feels like time stops as dazai sits there, breathing shallows breaths in attempts to stop the fire in his mouth, and contemplating whether he wants to try his luck with continuing to gasp for air or drinking the milk. he hates suffering, after all. in his mind, all that matters at this moment is extinguishing the flames dancing on his tongue. he grabs the glass, just as planned, and drinks a couple big gulps. everyone is now turned to him, asking if he's okay.
"i'm...fine." he says between pants.
now it was only a matter of time. the dinner continued as normal, but dazai wasn't as social as usual. he sat down with you and atsushi as you continued to talk about different missions.
"oh yeah, dazai-kun, do you remember--" you turn to look at him but realize he's staring at the ground intently as sweat beads on his face, "dazai?"
he blinks once and tries regaining his composure as he looks up at you with his usual smile, "yes, belladonna?"
"are you feeling alright?" you ask with concern laced in your voice.
"of course i am!" dazai tries to reply cheerily, but his bright tone is cut off by a rumbling in his stomach that makes his face twist.
he tries replacing his expression with a smile again, but it looks more pained as another low rumble emits from his body. at this point, everyone in the office is stealing glances. he looks back at the ground as his eyes widen yet again, and only two words are uttered before he takes off running to the bathroom:
"oh shit."
everyone stares at the door, processing what just happened. it was so silent, the only sound you could hear was dazai's rapid footsteps echoing down the hall.
"i knew it." you smirk a bit to yourself.
but your feeling of victory is brief as the horrid smell invades your nostrils. your poor co-workers get assaulted by the same stench, and you all are forced to evacuate.
operation: dairy for dazai was a success, but at what cost?
------------------------------------------
BONUS: how chuuya found out about dazai's lactose intolerance
chuuya was the only person who knew of dazai's problem with dairy, but the way he found out was purely accidental and scarred him.
the event took place when they were 17, and they were both stopping for a drink at a local cafe after a mission. the mission wasn't too bad, but it was early in the morning and chuuya wanted coffee. dazai told him it would stunt his already lacking growth, so chuuya wasn't in the greatest mood; he never was around dazai.
"i wanna sit down so you can order for me!" dazai claps his hands together.
"hey! i don't wan-" chuuya begins to protest but dazai cuts him off while walking away.
"you know what i like!"
chuuya grumbles in annoyance as he heads to the counter and orders two drinks. in his fit of anger, he accidentally ordered two coffees with milk and sugar, but failed to notice as he brought the cups to the table dazai sat at. he narrows his eyes as he sets the cup down in front of dazai and sits across from him. chuuya stares out the window to try and tune out dazai when he hears dazai ask him something quietly.
"is there...milk in this?"
chuuya scoffs and replies, "what's wrong, can't handle a bit of milk?"
he was obviously joking, but the sound that emits from dazai's body in response makes him realize it was no joke. dazai quickly stands and runs to the bathroom while chuuya sits there in disbelief, but with the hope that the rest of the day won't be ruined because of it.
that was wishful thinking though, as they frequently had to stop at public restrooms on their way home and chuuya had to deal with the rancid odor that followed dazai as closely as his own shadow.
SORRY
SUMMARY: when a game in a interview show up, Tom can't keep his mout shut.
A/N: this is my first imagine of tom omg i love him so much. as always, english it's not my first language so i hope this is good! take care of yourself pls! (gifs not mine)
Tumblr media
"baby, remember we can't get together." you said while on the screen of your cell phone you watched your boyfriend brushing his teeth.
"why not?" he removed his brush from his mouth to ask.
"because everyone will know that we are together." you let out a sigh.
"they won't know." he shook and spat into the sink before speaking back to the screen. "let me go for you." he said with a pout.
"Thomas." this time, your voice was a little more serious.
"fine darling, but don't call me Thomas, it feels like you don't love me anymore." the latter put a smile on your face.
"I will always love you, dumbass." you rolled your eyes and got out of bed when you heard someone ring your doorbell. "It's probably Lizzie, so i have to hang up. love you." you said something hasty and waited for me to say it back to you, as soon as the "love you too" left your boyfriend's lips, you hung up the call.
when you opened the door, Elizabeth was behind her in a pretty light blue dress and her hair was tied in a ponytail. "hey, girl. Scarlett is in the car so we should go right now." she said something hastily and took your hand to get you out of your apartment.
Tumblr media
as soon as they got to where the interview would be recorded you were able to locate several of your colleagues, however, Tom was not there.
"does anyone know where the fuck is Tom Holland?" you ask.
"I told you that the kid was a problem." Sebastian said as he sat down in a chair next to Anthony.
"I'm here!" your boyfriend's unmistakable voice echoed throughout the place, forcing you to turn to meet his gaze. he looked handsome as hell, he was wearing a black pants, a white shirt and a black jacket.
"who invited him? damn, now the whole interview is ruined." Anthony said sarcastically, causing a laugh from some.
"so funny, Mackie." your boyfriend rolled his eyes and sat down, not before checking you up with his eyes. Tom sat on the edge, next to Lizzie. you really wanted to sit next to him, but the only available seat was between Sebastian and Scarlett.
when you sat down, you felt a vibration and you quickly picked up your phone to find out what it was that made it vibrate. It was a message from Tom.
TOM: you look so gorgeous, stop being so cute or i will die.
YOU: shut up.
TOM: i'm being serious. i just can't believe that you are my gf like omg lucky me.
YOU: you're making me blush, stop it
TOM: only the truth darling ;)
i love u so much.
YOU: love u too. now shut up, the interview is getting started.
as soon as the two of you leave your phones, the two of you found each other to smile at each other before the interview started.
"I see what's going on" Sebastian commented, pulling you out of your bubble
"huh?" you asked without understanding what he was referring to.
"you and Holland." when he spoke those words, you felt your body go numb with nerves.
"what do you mean?" you asked trying to hide the nerves that began to run through your veins.
"you two are plotting revenge on Mackie and me for bothering you so much." hearing that gave you a sigh of relief.
"yeah, totally." you said with a smile, relieved that it was not what you thought.
soon the interviewer entered the room, giving them indications of the game they would play. "so, i'm gonna say let me see the last picture in your camera roll and stuff like that." he explain quickly so that all of you could understand.
"but what if i have a nude?" you asked at random.
"you have nudes in your phone? alright dirty girl." Scarlett commented in surprise.
"no, i mean-"
"It's alright, you are on your 20's and it's understandable, don't worry about it. actually, don't share it with every guy you meet." Sebastian said next to you.
"wait, i don't-"
"just don't show it for the good of the community, got it? yeah? I want to suppose so." Anthony looked at you and said.
"leave alone the little girl, I'm sure she just ask for curiosity." Elizabeth jumped into the conversation and defended you.
"that's why you're my favorite, Liz." you blew her a kiss in the air.
"I'll make sure that didn't hurt, but okay." Tom said hiding it with a cough.
"shut up, Tom. you can't talk, surely you also have photos on your phone with your stick in the air" Anthony said with some disgust.
"did you just called his dick, stick?" Scarlett asked with a laugh.
"oh man." the man next to you shook his head. "just don't put that in the interview and let's get started."
"alright, alright." the interviewer said with a laugh. "so, we are going to separate all of you, in that way some teach one thing and the others another, it's that okay?" he asked and everyone nodded.
"wait, so if I show my first picture, Lizzie won't?" Tom asked and pointed to the girl next to him.
"no, in that case she is going to show her last photo." answered the question. "so, Tom, Scarlett and Anthony are the team one, and Lizzie, Sebastian and [Y/N] are team two. got it?"
"yes, sir." you said and took out your phone to be able to show what they ask of you.
"right, team one let's see your last picture." the guy in front of you ordered and the three people that made up that team began searching his gallery.
"mine it's really boring." Scarlett warned when she saw her last photo. "it's a glass of water." she said simply and showed a photo.
"mine is a selfie of Lizzie and i." Anthony said with a smile and showed his screen, in which the photo of the two actors stood out.
"we look good." the semi blonde said and nodded.
"what about yours, Tom?" you asked curiously and leaned forward a little to get a better look at it.
"it's ridiculous." he said and placed the palm of his hand on his forehead while showing the photo.
"why you have a picture of a tea bag?" Sebastian asked in confusion.
"because there was nothing left!" Tom said and shifted a bit in his chair so he could be face to face with all of you. "so i send this picture to my mom so she can buy more for me."
"the fuck, Tom? just go to the store." you tried to sound like his friend
"no because i want this kind of tea, i don't like others." he said with a grimace.
"and what about your juices? I thought those were your favorites." Anthony asked and rested his right cheek on his hand.
"yeah but, I like tea better." he shrugged his shoulders and smiled.
"let's continue!" the interviewer interrupted and read one of the letters in his hands. "let's see, team two i want to see your last note."
"i'm scared" you start giggling while entering the notes app.
"i can't say it." Sebastian said quickly and turned off his cell phone.
"hey, why not? show us." Scarlett insisted and crossed her arms.
"because it's a list of possible gifts for [Y/N] because her birthday is coming up." when he said this, the two of you quickly turned to look at each other. you folded your lower lip and moved closer to him so that you could hug him properly.
"yeah, so much love but i want to see the tea, darling. show us." Mackie interrupted the moment and clapped his hands to hurry you up.
"my last note says 'new angel by niall horan'." you said something confused without understanding why your last note said that. "um, what?"
"oh!" Lizzie interfered and headed towards you. "maybe it's because it was the song that was playing on the radio and you said you were going to write down the name to add it to your playlist."
"oh" you exclaimed extending the o. "yeah, i remember now."
"so, my last note says 'two and a half cups of rice'." your friend frowned at not understanding. "yeah, i don't remember that."
"let's continue with the team two, show us your last text." the interviewer ordered with a smile and those of team two quickly got into the messaging app.
"oh, this is a funny one." Sebastian said "damn it, i'm gonna burn everything because you are not going to the interview with Mackie and i." he read his last message without removing the smile from his face and then looked up. "I sent it to Evans."
"oh i see the favoritisim here." Scarlett said with a small laugh and looked at Sebastian.
"I'm going to an interview, we can hang out tomorrow." Lizzie read with narrowed eyes so she could see better. "yeah, my best friend wanted us to go out for a drink but work comes first, i guess." she grimaced and shrugged.
"oh, I'm so eager to see the latest message from [Y/N], she has the juicy stuff." Anthony said with a laugh and pointed at you.
"oh my god, may the lord save me." you said while entering the message app. you widened your eyes when you saw that the last message you sent had been to Tom, you tried to get into another chat, but Sebastian discovered you.
"hey!" he said quickly and stopped your hand. "without cheating."
"well, mine says love u too. now shut up, the interview is getting started." when you finished reading, you felt your cheeks begin to turn a crimson color.
"I wonder who you sent it to." Lizzie said and touched her chin pretending to think.
"is it that boyfriend of yours?" Sebastian asked and you nodded slowly.
"wait, do you have a boyfriend?" the boy asked you in amazement and you nodded again while covering your face with your cell phone.
"let me tell you something about this girl." Mackie interrupted everything and when he started talking, you knew you were going to be embarrassed. "she has a boyfriend, but she doesn't show it. upload photos to her social networks and cover the boy's face."
"even we don't know who it is." the blonde said. "we are creating a team of spies to discover the identity of her lover."
"I'm afraid that all of you may never find out." you said very sure and pulled the phone away from your face.
Tom hadn't said a word since his shift started. he was simply looking at you with eyes of love because he could not be near you. he hadn't realized that you had read his last text message, he was lost in how good you looked.
"Tom?" Elizabeth moved the boy a little, pulling him out of his bubble.
"um, yes?" he answered something lost, not understanding what was happening around him.
"read us your last text message, prince charming." Stan annoyed him and ordered him at the same time.
when you noticed that your boyfriend looked a bit lost, you begged not to read the same message and everyone would realize what was happening between the two of you.
"alright." the brunnette took out his cell phone and entered your chat. "love u too. now shut up, the interview is getting started." he looked up and smiled at his companions. "it was from my girlfriend." at that moment, you felt your cheeks burn and your body completely paralyzed. Tom had publicly exposed the relationship.
"wait a damn minute." Anthony said and looked at Tom and then at you.
"i knew it!" Scarlett got up from her chair and did a little victory dance.
"this is too much, i can't believe it." Sebastian put a hand on his forehead. "how can you lie to me!" he yelled at you and shook your shoulders making you laugh.
"um, hi?" Holland said without understanding. "what's going on?"
"just don't talk, i think you already said a lot." you told him and covered your face with both of your hands.
"what do you mean?" he asked again.
"you, Thomas Holland." Elizabeth turned so she could face him. "you just made your relationship with [Y/N] known" when the brunette processed these words, he quickly leaned in to look at you.
"sorry?" he said with an awkward smile and shrugged.
