Emma: "This is Daniel, the coolest android in the world! Say hi, Daniel!"

Daniel: "Hello!"

Emma: "You're my bestie! We'll always be together!"

The thing is, Emma probably didn't even know anything about her father's plans to replace Daniel, and it is really possible that if she had a chance to get to know about it before Daniel, she'd be the one throwing a tantrum, potentially preventing anything that happened instead. Aside from just Emma, it was repeatedly mentioned throughout the game that kids actually love androids. For example there's this dialogue at the station that Markus can overhear:

Little girl, visibly upset, hugging herself: "Are we really going to get rid of Mandy?"

(Probably mother): "Grandma says it leaves her nothing to do, sweetie."

Little girl: "But she's so cool!"

Mother: "I know, honey."

Not only kids think they're cool, android-only band Here4You is even hitting the charts as one of the most popular among youngsters, whereas adults find them really creepy and soulless. Another overhead dialogue from the same chapter:

"I heard that android boyband is going to win sone music prize"

"You mean Here4You? God, they're so creepy.

"My kids don't listen to anything else."

From adult's POV this attachment is interpreted as just another form of phone/internet/social-media/[insert anything else young people are accused of liking too much]-addiction, because most of them are too angry at CyberLife to comprehend that their kids may actually like androids for who they are as people in their lives, for being their safe space of a kind, and not because they're just addicted to that fancy toys to play with (although there probably are some kids who'd see them exactly this way. There always are.)

It was truly a misfortune that Daniel got so overwhelmed by the news that he instantly became fatalistic instead of pausing to really think about it first, to maybe consider that this decision may not have been a collective one, and there's still a chance -- maybe a small one, but still the one worth looking into -- to cancel it by talking, asking Emma about if she knows (because she probably didn't) instead of instantly going for the gun to take revenge on everyone as equally guilty. Instead of asking, he instantly assumed the worst – that Emma's opinion in the matter will be the same as her father's, and that was his main mistake. Daniel must have had really good relationships with the whole family including the father who as it turned out didn't think of him as a person, but rather a replaceable object – something Daniel never expected or even considered before, which, by the way, only further implies just how much he was actually loved for this information to be this unexpected and this world-shattering. He never saw it coming AT ALL (and in a generally anti-android society it really is telling) so this unexpected truth basically overwritten everything he ever knew about his life and world as a whole, making him feel like a fool for not seeing it earlier.

In this sense he's really similar to Connor when he realised that CyberLife never loved him, that he in fact is NOT special, not an exception from the rule, and was only used as an expendable object. There really is a parallel here. Except for Connor this knowledge didn't came with an anger, but with guilt for his previous actions (and, you know, Connor was actually right about it while Daniel could have potentially made a mistake in interpreting it the way he did)

So "Daniel never saw it coming because he was only surrounded by love" is one theory, but now I wanna consider a different one, being –

He was never going to be replaced on the first place,

Philips family is just insanely rich and John decided that he can afford to buy one more android, because why not? The one they have is great, and their enormous apartment with giant gold statues of Buddha and big-ass pool area would benefit from another pair of hands. It's possible that this decision wasn't even planned, but just an impulsive purchase done by someone who's so rich that spending nearly 10K is not a big deal.

And in this case, maybe Daniel's suspicion accumulated over a period time of him hearing how other androids are talked about outside of Philip's family and always thinking "For me it's different – they actually love me for who I am and will never replace like that. They're not like those other people, they're different, I'm different." And then him seeing that purchase was just...the last straw that was needed for him to apply all those previous already existing suspicions to his own situation and finally consider that they might actually apply to him, resulting in him drawing those depressing conclusions that if true would mean that his whole life has been a lie that he was just too stupid to be able to see through.

So there's at least a small chance that it was all a result of just a big misjudgement and/or could be avoided if dialogue was Daniel's first choice of action instead of him getting blinded by his anger and urge to take revenge on those who -- at least from his immediate understanding of the situation -- betrayed him.

Lio isn’t sure what to think about the newborn baby swaddled in the living room. Lucie is gone at a follow up doctor’s appointment for some post-birth concern she had. So Connor and Lio were on baby duty. Lio thought he was coming over for video games, beer and pizza. Instead, he is greeted by a passed out Connor. The new dad is resting in an exhausted sprawl on the leather couch next to the bassinet.

Stella’s little face is contouring into a cry. For some reason, panic briefly bubbles in Lio’s chest. What does she need? He should wake Connor up. Or maybe call Lucie and ask what to do. Hesitantly, he reaches for the side of the bassinet, gently moving it back and forth on it’s wheels. Stella’s face smoothes out, but she continues to wiggle with her mouth open. Lio looks to the left of her head, seeing a teal nook. He picks it up, gently resting it against her bottom lip. She awkwardly moves towards it, trying to get it in her mouth.

“There you go.” Lio murmurs, sitting down next to her bassinet. Lio doesn’t really care for babies, but Stella Wood is the coolest one he has ever seen. Meeting Stella in the hospital, sitting next to Lucie as he looked at what his two best friends made, it changed something in him. He doesn’t want to be a dad by any means, but he certainly could understand the dumbstruck look on Connor’s face when he met him by the nurses station.

“Lee, she’s…” Connor ended up shaking his head with a dopey grin. How could he describe her? Lio agrees with that wonder as he stares down at her now.

Stella settles down. Lio decides to leave Connor asleep, setting up his Xbox and putting his headset on, one ear off incase Stella wakes up. He’s five minutes into his first Chel Game when he hears her whimpers again. Glancing at Connor, it’s clear he’s still passed out.

“It’s okay.” Lio murmurs, reaching in to put her nook back in. Stella spits it out, crying a little harder. Lio tosses his gaming stuff to the side, standing to pick her up. He supports her head, bouncing her lightly in his arms. “It’s unfortunately how much you look like your dad.” He jokes. “You have Swiss blood in you, kid. You should look like us.”

“She’s more American than Swiss.” Lucie points out behind him. He startles a bit.

“When did you come in?”

“Just now.” She chuckles, tossing the keys.

“Con said you were at the doctor. Are you okay?”

“Yeah, just a slight infection in a milk duct.” Lio grimaces. Lucie shrugs. “You asked.”

“Yeah…” He trails off, shaking his head.

“Has Con been sleeping the whole time?”

“Yeah. He let me in and passed out on the couch. Hasn’t even touched that beer.”

“He’s been doing late nights since he has been home this week.” Lucie murmurs, pushing Connor’s hair off his forehead. She drops a gentle kiss there afterwards. “I can take her.”

“Um, no it’s cool.” Lio says, holding Stella close. “Kinda like hanging out with her.”

“How about I change her and then you can feed her?”

They agree to that. Lucie disappears. Connor starts snoring on the couch. Lio takes a few more sips of his beer. He watches Lucie in the kitchen get Stella’s bottle ready. It’s like her daughter knows food is coming because she begins to fuss.

“Do you still want to?” Lucie asks as Stella’s shrieks heighten. Lio nods, holding his arms out like Lucie instructs. “Now brush the nipple from side to side in her mouth.” They pause, waiting for Stella to take it. She does, then contently begins to chug down her milk. Lucie and Lio share a smile.

“Luc I can’t believe you’re a mom.” He chuckles. “You have a kid with Connor Wood.” Lucie grins, looking over at Connor asleep.

“I’m pretty lucky huh?” Lucie’s eyes find her daughter, watching her eat. “Thanks for coming over. I know we haven’t been around much. This has been a big change.”

“It’s okay. You know I’m here to help.”

“I… didn’t think babies were your thing, honestly.”

“Babies aren’t, but yours is.”

“I love you, Lee.” Lucie pouts, then leans down to press her face against his shoulder in a hug. “I’m going to take a shower. Do you want me to wake Connor?”

“No. Jelly Stelly and I will be okay.”

“No.” Lucie shakes her head at the nickname. She reaches up for her hair clip, pulling her hair down and stretching her neck.

“Yeah it’s bad. I’ll keep working on it.” Lio assures. Lucie disappears down the hall. Lio watches the baby’s face, listening to her suckling and grunting, finding it entertaining. “I love you, kid. I’ll never let anything hurt you. Uncle Lee is head of security around here. We’ll let your dad think he is though.”

I would’ve liked Ithan to have a crush on someone who is an introvert. Maybe a third roommate to Danika and Bryce. She wouldn’t be spending much time with Danika’s pack as she is socially shy, and rather sits in her bedroom alone; eventually she and the pack would say hi to each other since it’s a small apartment. It’s not that she doesn’t like them, she just doesn’t feel comfortable around many people. Especially when they are literally the coolest pack of werewolves in the city and she is just a mortal. It’s not that being a mortal is something she should be embarrassed of, yet she would think so.

Everybody knew about Connor and Bryce, but so little knew about Ithan’s feelings for her.

They study in the same university. Everybody knew Ithan. For countless times she encouraged girls talking about how much they want him all around the campus. Though she doesn’t share the same feelings towards him, she would find it pretty understandable. There were times where she thinks he’s attractive, but he was out of her league. At least that’s what she thought. Sometimes, she would find herself dreaming about him. She would do that quite often. This thing where she dreams about her and a random guy she found cute. She wouldn’t take it seriously though, it’s just that she daydreams a lot. Thus, she had always thought that Connor was hotter anyways.

Everyone warned Connor of the setbacks of being a parent while still pursuing his education, especially something as complex and time-consuming as law

However, no one told him of all the benefits it would have too

Probably cause no one knew his friend group like him

Aka his second family

It used to feel odd to think of them like that, considering their rocky start

But now he considers them his and his daughter's second family with confidence

After all, they're more often at the Keating house than they're at their own apartment

Little Lucy wouldn't have it any other way, that's for sure

She's aunt Michaela's princess, getting pampered and doted on by her constantly

Michaela could definitely put Connor in his place with a single sentence and without the bat of an eye

But she's wrapped around this toddler's finger and she's not afraid to admit it

Uncle Asher's always got her in a fit of giggles and smiles, giving Wes and Frank a run for their 'best uncle' positions

Speaking of the latter two

Wes is the best babysitter of the group, closely followed by Laurel

He's the only one who knows when to turn down Lucy's outlandish kiddy ideas, albeit with a heavy heart

But that doesn't mean the toddler loves spending time with him any less

Uncle Frank takes her out for drives when he runs errands (only safe ones, of course, he'd never put the kid at risk)

Lucy loves riding in the front seat and, although slightly illegal and definitely prohibited by her dad, Frank does comply an let her take up the passenger seat

It's their little secret

Speaking of little secrets...

Auntie Laurel is her partner in crime

Whenever she gets in trouble, she knows who to call before anyone else finds out

Connor's also started picking up on the few Spanish words Lucy's started dropping left and right

No curse words yet, Laurel makes sure to answer phone calls as far away from the toddler as possible

Auntie Bonnie is the opposite of uncle Asher

And Lucy's taken her as a personal challenge

What exactly does that mean, you might be wondering

Well, the toddler has taken it upon herself to get the strict and stoic woman to at least crack a smile, maybe even elicit a laugh from her every now and then

Who wouldn't cave at the girl's cuteness?

And then there's granny Annalise

Ever the professional badass lawyer she is, no one could ever imagine her to be swayed from her work

Well, believe me when I tell you, all it takes is Connor's car pulling up in the driveway and the shout of Lucy calling her name for all her work to become Keating 5's problem while she takes her granddaughter out for ice cream or brings her to a theme park

She definitely wins the coolest grandma award, no questions asked

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Review - Contains Spoilers

Came out of DS2, and it ended up being quite a trip. Have to say that its a movie that left an impression on me for sure and a good one. I wouldn't call it one of the best MCU movies but its definitely one of the most memorable and unique ones. Definitely a film that felt different in a good way. But its not without its flaws.

The film is one of the few where I feel that watching in 3D really helped enhance the experience. The visuals are definitely really cool and all the action scenes are hugely enjoyable to watch. From a story perspective, this film is a lot like The Terminator. Wanda being The Terminator, America Chavez being Sarah Connor, and Doctor Strange being Kyle Reese. There are some visual cues that are reminiscent of the movie as well. Wanda is a legit terrifying villain in this movie. Probably one of the best villains in any MCU movie. WandaVision definitely does enhance the viewing experience of this film from that perspective. There are lines and musical cues that are directly from WandaVision and her whole plot is related to her trauma. The story isn't all that complicated, and that's a good thing in my opinion. Its just about Strange trying to protect Chavez from getting killed from Wanda and that leads to a trip through the Multiverse. One of my fears was that this film would feel like a Wanda movie and less a Doctor Strange and I'm happy to say that's not the case. Doctor Strange is really the anchor of the film and his character goes through quite a journey and has a fairly fulfilling character arc. I feel this probably the most likable Strange has been in the MCU. This film really humanizes him quite a bit. As I mentioned before, there are some really cool bits in this film. The coolest of which was a musical note based fight with two Doctor Stranges. That was pretty awesome. The finale was also pretty sweet with Zombie Defender Strange. There are some very dark and spooky sequences where Wanda lays waste to everything and everyone that comes in her way. Honestly, the action scenes are exhilarating. One of the things that I was initially disappointed with before watching the film was the runtime. I expected the film to be longer, but having watched the film, it makes a lot of sense. Because the plot is not overly complex and the setup for the villain is already accomplished in WandaVision, it makes sense for the run time to be 2 hours. While I loved the trippiness of the visuals and the action, I think more of it would be too much of a good thing and would have gotten overwhelming and repetitive. I think the film manages to use the time effectively and given some closure to the Strange and Christine relationship and establish a pretty affectionate mentor/mentee relationship between Strange and Chavez.

There are issues with the film, like I mentioned earlier. While Wanda makes for a terrifying villain, the film doesn't quite earn her turn to the complete dark side. While on one hand, there are references to the Darkhold having corrupted her mind, but on the other hand, Wanda seems to be completely aware of the things she's doing. The end of WandaVision didn't really imply that she was this unbalanced. As it stands, I'm not sure where else the MCU can go with her, because she's about as evil as she could have gone, but she also then had a redemptive moment at the end. They can't go back to her being evil because that would make the end of this movie pointless, and I highly doubt she's dead. The Strange and Christine relationship is also a big crux of this film. While I think there is a very affectionate chemistry between Cumberbatch and Adams and the What If episode about them went a long way towards making that relationship stronger, the the film is depending on an emotional investment in that relationship which the MCU has never really earned. Then there is the use of the cameos in the film, which probably represents my biggest disappointment with the film. I was spoiled on the cameos before the film, so I didn't have wild expectations going into this about other unexpected appearances, but what was disappointing is that the film has some high profile appearances of actors playing major characters, all of whom ended up looking really stupid and going out like punks. The whole storyline about Strange being on trial didn't really hold up in the first place. They were basically judging him for another Strange's actions, despite the fact it did seem that, despite his mistakes, Strange was really the key to defeating Thanos even in their universe. The level of distrust and some of the arrogance shown by Captain Carter and Captain Marvel and the stupidity shown by Mr. Fantastic and Black Bolt and the rest just makes their appearances very disappointing. I mean, its really cool to see Patrick Stewart as Xavier and Krasinski as Mr. Fantastic but they really get nerfed. Surely Xavier could have put up more of a fight in Wanda's head or done something and Mr. Fantastic could have done more than just get shredded. Captain Marvel and Captain Carter were oddly unlikable and they went out like punks as well. On top of that, there is a layer of conflict between Mordo and Strange in our universe which we have never seen on screen and apparently happened between movies, which this movies depends on to have tension between our Strange and AU Mordo. Its a weird choice and again seems unearned.

The performances in the movies are all outstanding. Elizabeth Olsen is getting a lot of plaudits for her work and its well deserved. She's superb and pretty scary and yet there is a layer of sympathy that you have with her right at the end. Benedict Wong as Wong is wonderful, with a genuinely substantial role. Rachel McAdams is always lovely to have although she is still not used to her full potential and it doesn't seem like we will see her again. Xochitl Gomez as Chavez is quite likable. Ejiofor as Mordo, Stewart as Xavier, Krasinski as Mr Fantastic, Hayley Atwell as Captain Carter, Lashana Lynch as Captain Marvel, and Anson Mount as Black Bolt are all welcome presences. But the film's real anchor is Benedict Cumberbatch. I think people will underrate his work here because his performance is subdued and understated compared to Olsen's more overt villain character, but he carries so much of the weight of this film. There is a hidden pain in this performance. He has to play it as a man who is keeping it all bottled inside. And despite that you really feel he's going through a journey and he adds quite a bit of humor to the proceedings.

Overall, Sam Raimi definitely bring a distinct horror touch to the movie. I will say that he, along with Taika, Gunn, and Chloe Zhao, are the directors whose distinct touch is very much apparent when watching the movie. I can imagine this film is not for everyone. Someone not caught up on WandaVision or Doctor Strange's journey in the MCU so far, may not connect with this movie much and find it cluttered. For me, I really enjoyed it. I give it an 8/10 on first viewing. I'll probably give it another watch next weekend.

Also, I would say that a non comic follower would have zero idea who Charlize Theron is playing in the mid credit scene. Could have included an "I'm Clea" in the scene. Also, the post credit scene is an epic troll. Got a big laugh out of that. Basically similar to the Captain America one from Homecoming.

There was a meeting because Daniel and Ekaterina were introducing their newborn daughter Monique. Marcel and Katina were looking at her daughter with disappointment, while Diane and Jeff were happy to see her granddaughter.

Jeff (Congratulating his eldest son): Congratulations Daniel! The baby is a very healthy girl! Diane, darling, our granddaughter is almost the same as you!

Daniel (Hugging Ekaterina): Thank you very much dad, darling... Why don't we better let Monique rest?

Ekaterina: Sure, dear...

The two left the house so they could talk a bit.

Ekaterina: Daniel, we can't give our daughter up for adoption... I know we can't raise her, but we can't do that to her...

Daniel (a little confused): But Ekaterina, my parents can take care of the baby for us, but they are very old, and what about your parents?

Ekaterina: My mom offered to raise Monique.

Daniel (smiling): Honey, that would be a good option!

At that moment Alexander arrives, who was a little agitated.

Alexander: Hello Daniel, hello Ekaterina! You must listen to me, please, I have super important news!

Ekaterina and Daniel: Hi Alexander! What happened?

Lola (interrupting the moment and leaving with Gabriel Green): Ekaterina, they call you on the phone!, a certain Connor Weir!.

That scared Alexander a little, who ran after his ex-girlfriend.

Ekaterina (Ending the call with Connor): We'll see you at 20:00 PM!

There was something in that call that worried Alexander too much, and he couldn't continue talking to Ekaterina.

Later

At a downtown restaurant, Geoff, Ekaterina, Connor, Samantha and Ramir were having an outing with friends.

Ramir and Samantha: Ekaterina, Geoff is the coolest man you will meet, he is super talented and super attentive! We would be very happy if you were with him and Geoff would also like you to be his girlfriend! yes Geoff?

Geoff (blushing a little): Yeah hehe, well guys, what are you planning to do this weekend?

Samantha: Since Connor and I have graduated, we have thought about traveling to Twikkii Island! By the way Ramir, have you talked to that girl you told us about?

Ramir: I've talked to her again! Her name is Ana and she's very pretty!

Dinner passed and everyone was enjoying it, except for Ekaterina (who wanted a beautiful diamond ring that a very familiar woman had), she couldn't stop looking at the ring, which caught Geoff's attention.

Geoff (Thinking): "It seems that my beautiful Ekaterina is attracted to something... I think she should buy her what she wants and thus win her heart"

Later, after Connor, Ramir, and Samantha had left, Geoff started flirting with Ekaterina.

Geoff (Caressing the blonde): Did you like dinner? I had a great time with you!

Ekaterina: Yes hehe, anyway, you're super cool Geoff!.

Geoff (Getting a little closer to the blonde): Do you want to know something? I love you Ekaterina, I would do anything to be with you... And for that...

At that moment Geoff kissed Ekaterina, that impacted the Blonde too much, on the one hand she felt that she was being unfaithful to Daniel, but on the other hand she felt fascinated by that kiss... Why did she feel that way?

Geoff (Smiling): Do you want to be my girlfriend, Ekaterina?, she swore to you that I will be a good boyfriend for you!!, I will be there for you when you need it!!.

I can't reply on the post and don't want to reblog it again, but I'm not forgetting Daniel. Unfortunately the only thing we see of Daniel pre-deviancy is him saying hello into a video. It doesn't give us any sense of who he is as a person. That clip is about Emma's attachment to him because he's "the coolest android in the world", but all he does is say hello when prompted, with reasonably good cheerful affect. It contrasts sharply with what we see, which is him dangling Emma off the roof, and the game doesn't really go into whether that brief clip was the real Daniel or just an act provided by his programming.

We get a sense of what he wants, and what he values from his actions as a deviant, because apparently just the threat of being torn away from his family and discarded was enough to send him deviant. But the game arguably portrays his deviancy as a bad thing and him as a villain instead of it being a tragedy that he was driven to this desperation. (Mileage may vary on that one based on personal experiences; "you lied to me, Connor" is gut-wrenching, but it's also one possible ending out of all of them, requiring absolute success in manipulation from Connor, and the only ending that hits that way. In the rest of them, he HAS to die for Connor to save Emma so his death feels justified.)

Okay, that's fair, the clip doesn't give us a lot. I was just thinking about how what we learn from his words and actions paints us a picture of how he reached this point. And how he had some really strong personal opinions about his life and place in the world long before deviancy. Otherwise, his reaction wouldn't be this. 100% he's not the first android who got replaced, but he's the first one to get revengeful about.

And, him being a villain? Oh boy, you know me, I fucking love him being a villain. I disagree with him being only a victim in this, which is not to say his story isn't tragic (it is).

But it's his decision to go for a revenge instead of escape. It's his decision to drag Emma (who may not even know about the new android) to the rooftop and use her as a hostage with him being perfectly capable of going through with his threat and fall back dragging Emma down with him. Even though he supposedly loved her, his hatred and resentment is stronger. He thinks she deserves it. Because she (her family) hurt him, and he ain't gonna let that slide. It's not the fear of death that motivates him, not self-defence but pure rage. He took the gun and instead of escaping with it he goes straight to the person who wronged him and kills him when he isn't expecting.

And his rage and hatred extrapolates far beyond Philips family.

He objects to Connor helping a human that has nothing to do with Philips family and pose no threat to him anymore, so it's just a question of whether his life (one more to the list) will end as result of Daniel's actions. Daniel later says that he didn't want to hurt anybody, and yet here, when he has a chance for making his actions less murderous for the outsiders, he objects.

"All humans die eventually. What difference does it make if this one dies now?"

Ah, what a line! Compare it with Traci's words about how she only killed out of fear of being next.

When Connor pushes Emma away, what does he do? Once again, he chooses revenge, but this time aimed at Connor. Not even a human, but just another android doing his job.

Daniel story is tragic, but his actions, even though done in panic and shock are still his actions that he chose himself. And I think we should let him own them. He attacked first. When he was cornered he made sure to drag others with him.

Sorry, I dwelled away from original topic. Revengeful Danial is just my fave, and I prefer his actions to be viewed as his own choices and not something universal any deviant in his place would do.

Oceans Eleven. Bria was on the set of one of the coolest movies ever. That was how she saw it. She was able to watch from behind the camera and it looked so cool! Even when the actors had to film the scene over and over. She got to watch George, her father, Matt Damon, and Julia Roberts work. Steven Soderbergh, the director even let her hold stuff for him. That was her way of helping. The cast enjoyed having her on the set and they always made time to talk to her.

In the afternoons, she went to Brad’s trailer and took a nap. Her baby made her more tired than usual. Having a nap re-energized her. George and Matt were both told about her pregnancy by Brad. They were both asked not to tell anyone because she didn’t want the entire world to know. They promised. They were heartbroken to learn that her pregnancy was the result of an assault.

She was keeping her baby. Brad didn’t think she understood the situation because she was too young. She thought babies were stuffed animals or dolls. He would be there to help her. If he wasn’t, he didn’t know if she could handle being a single mother. She didn’t have the maturity to handle a baby by herself. As a child, she shouldn’t have to worry about becoming a mother. She should worry about whatever fourteen-year-old girls are worried about. Boys? Makeup? Fashion?

Yeah, it was going to be hard for her to adjust to taking care of a baby. They had no doubt she would do the best she could as a mother. She would not be perfect because she would make mistakes. That was understandable. Mistakes were common. The most important thing was that her baby was well taken care of.

She and Brad were going over ideas for names. Margaret, Morgan, Emma, Catherine, Jessica, Abigail, and Sophie were all girl names she liked. For boys, she chose Bradley, Thomas, Matthew, Connor, Daniel, Michael, and David. They were good names. Morgan was gender-neutral, so it could be a girl’s name or a boy’s name. She thought about that. Morgan Bradley or Morgan Catherine. Yeah, those would work. She wrote those down in her notebook.

She had plenty of time to choose a name. It would help to find out the gender of her baby. They would hopefully be able to find out at the next appointment. She was looking forward to not being sick anymore. He laughed. Yeah, he could tell that morning sickness wasn’t pleasant. He had a lot of sympathy for her. She ate small snacks whenever she was hungry.

Her stomach couldn’t handle very much food, so she ate only what she could. She drank Gatorade to help with her morning sickness and to keep her hydrated. It tasted better than regular water. Las Vegas was hot, even for February. It was cold during the mornings and nights.

“My name is Bria and I have no idea what the hell is going on.”

Barry Watson, who was filming a cameo asked her what she was doing. She was trying to figure that out. Brad laughed. They had introduced themselves and he asked if he could join them at the picnic table. Yeah, go ahead. She munched on the chips she got at craft services. No, they weren’t fruits or vegetables but they were delicious! She did try to argue that they were made from potatoes and those were vegetables.

It wasn’t the same thing. What kind of potato chips were they? They were sour cream and onion. No, they were not vegetables. She would have vegetables later during dinner. Wasn’t she going to be full? No, she had several snacks during the day.

“We need someone who can teleport in an invisibility suit into the vault of the bank. Because then, nobody will know who robbed the bank. They won’t be able to figure out how they got in and out because they won’t have to break into the vault.”

“That’s a great idea. How would we build a teleportation machine”, Brad asked.

“Science fiction. That would be so cool if you could teleport. Then, you wouldn’t need a plane or a car or anything like that. If you want to go to someone’s house, you don’t need someone to drive you there.”

“That would be very cool. It would save on gas money”, Barry said.

What about the invisibility suits? They were so you could do whatever you wanted and not get into trouble because nobody could see you. That was how they could get the money from the vault. They could even do it in the middle of the night when nobody was around. That would be helpful. It would make the movie a lot shorter. Brad laughed.

“Except for one thing I forgot. Don’t give the invisibility suit to George because he will use it to prank you. He will sneak up on you or something or sneak into your trailer and leave something for you.”

“Are you going to get him back”, Brad asked.

“I’m working on it. I have four months to think of something.”

Did he pull a lot of pranks? Oh, yeah. Brad had been his victim more than once. His pranks were mostly harmless. It was just his personality. Four months. That was enough time to think of something. Maybe she would rearrange the stuff in his trailer or leave something like a bucket of water above the door. Then when he opened it, he would be soaking wet. She had to think hard because it had to be perfect! After fourteen years, she was going to prank the prankster!

After finishing her chips, she threw the bag away in the garbage bin before coming back. How was her stomach? It was good. She didn’t feel nauseous? No. She took another drink of her Gatorade. The sun was making her warm, so she took off her jacket.

“I’m not having another baby until I’m thirty years old!”

“Good! Don’t have another baby until you are ready and you have a stable career.”

“I need a job and money and a car and a mortgage”, she said dramatically.

“Do you even know what a mortgage is?”

No, Barry explained it to her. It was like a loan from the bank to buy a house, plus interest. You have to pay that money back every month. Brad would help her look for a job that would hire fourteen-year-olds. Maybe she could work at a recording studio as a volunteer. That meant she wouldn’t be paid. Or she could volunteer at an animal shelter. That might be dangerous for her, though because she would want to bring all the animals home with her.

“We can adopt every cat and dog”, Bria said.

“No, we are not.”

Barry laughed.

After recharging her energy battery, she was ready to move around again. What did she think about working at a recording studio? That would be so cool! Brad would look into it, then. She got up and bounced around. He told her to bounce over and get him water. She did. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Barry asked if she was always that energetic. Yeah, her hyperactivity was just starting. She had endless nonstop energy. He laughed.

Can we get some dream smp fandom positivity posts? As someone who posts mostly analysis and has never once had someone say anything rude in response, I think we perceive the fanbase as more toxic than it is because of a few outspoken individuals. Y'all are pretty chill and I like you.

In no particular order-

I love that Eret’s fans come up with such cool theories, I swear she could give you two sentences of lore and I could see three five page essays on what it could mean about their character within an hour and each of them is unique, intricate, and makes logical sense.

I love the compilations Foolish fans make of him doing ridiculous things on stream, he’s a fun guy that never fails to make me laugh and everything I see from them embodies that energy to me.

I love how creative Hannah’s fans are, you take the awesome ideas she has and turn them into the most amazing designs and concepts.

I love that Techno’s fans might write a ten page essay about his character or just say they enjoy watching him do crime, and you never know which it will be because both come from the same people.

I love how Philza’s fans embrace everything he does with so much enthusiasm. His chat is a flock of crows? Excellent, they can work with that, you will see fifty incredible pieces of art and a hundred theories in the first hour and they’re just getting started.

I love that Niki’s fans are so careful to pay attention and not miss any details. It has been ages and I still see occasional mentions and theories about the “Dear Friend” letter.

I love that Fundy’s fans are very empathetic, they love to find and elaborate on the connections between characters and that’s pretty cool!

I love Tommy’s fans for their energy. They seem passionate about making things right and hopeful that no matter what your situation is things can get better. I’ve seen so many breathtakingly emotional art pieces from this side of the fandom.

I love that George’s fans unapologetically simp for him but then catch me off guard by making deep insights about his character.

I love how Bad’s fans are as genuinely sweet as he is, they’re willing to really look at everything that makes up a character and see the tragedy of it and have compassion about things. And some just want to see an egg rule the server, c'mon, it would be funny.

I love the running gag with Skeppy fans of making Skeppy critical posts, y’all are hilarious.

I love how Purpled fans play up his lack of lore as him being an incredibly powerful cryptid, and they’re right. He totally carried the wither fight on Nov 16th.

I love the balance Quackity fans have between a love of humor, justice, and darker topics. I think like Quackity they are often underestimated and thought of as the jokester side of the fandom to an extent, and then I start reading things they write and it’s well thought out and insightful.

I love that Tubbo’s fans love chaos, cute things, or both to an unhealthy extent. Seeing anything from them reminds me of princess unikitty in all the best ways, and then they turn around and throw a super in depth meaningful analysis at me in the next breath.

I love everything about Sapnap’s fans. Y'all are perfect. The writing and art from the born in fire line? Gold.

I love how Jschlatt fans are generally chill and just enjoy whatever they want to. Their favorite Manburg president was the one who publicly executed his right hand man and gave Dream a resurrection book for firepower, and he looked good doing it.

I love that Callahan has fans. You people are dedicated and I respect it. The fact that Callahan was one of the first names to pop up when everyone was trying to figure out who Harpocrates was even though he rarely involves himself with plot? Your influence knows no bounds.

I love that Alyssa’s fans are simply too powerful. She hasn’t played on the smp since way before I started watching and there are still people defending her barn and drawing pictures of her.

I love that Antfrost’s fans have taken so many ideas and just ran with them and made them awesome. Like him practicing magic? Perfect, he now carries potions and gets a wizard hat.

I love that Dream fans look at a character who has been portrayed as pure evil from many points of view and understand that Everyone has motives based on their situation, even if it isn’t handed to us in an easily understood way.

I love how Jack’s fans are so ready to support any action he takes. Crawling out of hell? Incredible. Killing a child? Good for him! Go team Rocket. Grieving the same child? Learning healthy coping, he’s the coolest.

I love that Connor eats Pants fans are the most reasonable people in this fandom. This is terrifying. Thank you for your service, you always make me smile.

I love that Punz fans unapologetically just love their capitalist mercenary. As they should, his presence always tips the scales and everything he does brings more depth to the characters and plots he interacts with.

I love how much Ranboo fans love complexity. Most of them aren’t afraid to admit that their favorite characters are flawed, because aren’t those flaws what make them interesting and relatable?

I love the variety of Hbomb fans. Half of them may be embracing the cat maid bit while the other half goes on about how impactful and cool L’cast is, but they’re all super chill.

I appreciate that Puffy fans take the time to understand so many perspectives. So many posts I see involving her tie in lore from other characters and find interesting ways to connect them and build them together, kind of like Puffy herself.

I love that Wilbur fans seem to approach the story like they’re solving a puzzle, carefully piecing together details from months apart to figure out how and why everything goes down.

I love how hard Ponk fans work to spread awareness of how awesome he is. Ponk says and does wonderful things and is very fun to watch. I never would have tried his content without them.

I love that Karl fans saw him wanting to be involved and started coming up with such cool ideas around his character that they actually made them canon. Correct me if I’m wrong, wasn’t the time traveler thing a fan theory at first?

I love the creativity Sam fans have with his design and their willingness to discuss complex moral issues. Sam is involved in some heavy lore stuff but he and his fans keep things entertaining and calm.

“You’re my best friend” were Dick’s words. He could never decide if he took comfort in them or not, unsure of the context in which his soulmate would say them. As he got older, he learned to love them. The words stretched up his right leg, and his mom had told him it meant his soulmate was a runner. In his teenage years he found Wally west who said his exact words just minutes before Dick had said his own “I would do anything for you. Anything.” Which were written right over Wally’s heart.

“You are the coolest person I’ve ever met” were Cass’s words, written on her chest. She didn’t know what they meant for the majority of her life, only learning what they meant and what they were when she was deep in her teenage years. She carried the secret silent fear that her soulmate had already said her words, and she would never know. That was, until Stephanie said them one night in the Clocktower. She had said Steph’s words a month before without knowing it, and Steph was delighted to show her the words “my Batgril” written on the back of her hand.

“I hate you so much” were Jason’s words. He never understood them. If these were supposed to be the words his soulmate said when they fell in love with him, why did they express just the opposite? His father had used the words against him. Had told him even his soulmate would hate him. All the pain the words on his bicep had caused him, he was more than shocked when they were said by Roy on a night of hanging out as a joke, and even more shocked when Roy had shown him the words Jason had said to him two years before on his inner thigh reading “You’re Roy Fucking Harper, you are so much stronger than this. I know you can beat it.”

“You know you want me” were Tim’s words. They went along the under side of his jaw, into his hairline, and he hated them for so long. His soulmate was clearly arrogant and not worth his time if those were really the first words they would say to him after falling in love. Or that’s what he thought, until Kon said them, and Tim knew he was only saying them because he wanted a Tim to want him. Kon’s words delicately written spiraling down his arm, around his wrist, and to his hand was Tim’s immediate response of “you’d be an idiot if you thought I didn’t.”

“Gotham doesn’t deserve a light like you” were Duke’s words. Duke had ignored the words on his bicep for most of his life, knowing he had no interest in finding a romantic partner. Jason had once commented that his soulmate might be an archer like his, but he had begged thought about it farther than that. Then Connor had whispered his words while they were lying awake on the floor, their teammates snoring around them, and he wondered what he was supposed to do. A few years later, after Duke had found proper closure for his parents and fully settled into his new life, he finally said the words that stretched vertically down Connor’s back. “I’m ready now. I hope you still are too.”

“I believe in you, please just believe in me” were Damian’s words. He hadn’t known what to think of them for a very long time. They were not bad by any means, but knowing the line of work he would be in, they were not good either. In reverse to Tim’s, Damian’s words written on him chest were actually the response to the words he would say to Jon when he was fifteen, after Jon had finally gotten back to the right age and come back to him. “I can’t lose you again,” was written across Jon’s collarbones.

“If you think I’m ever letting you go you’re insane” were Barbara’s words. They were written so they circled her stomach, the end and beginning meeting at a point above her spine on her back. She had been devastated when woke up in the hospital, sure the bullet had ruined her words as well as her legs. The only relife in the hospital that day was when she realized her words had been perfectly spaced so the bullet didn’t touch them. Dinah said the words to her in response to Babs’s words that wrapped around her throat saying “please save yourself. I’ll be okay.”

“I love you and I hate it more than anything” were Bruce’s words. They started on his ring finger and made their way down to spiral around his wrist. The words had brought his family pain for a long time, but he had learned to become indifferent to them by the tenth anniversary of his parents’ deaths. When Jason trustee him enough to show his words, Bruce hand pulled off his glove and done the same him hopes to bring his new son comfort. He knew who his soulmate was, had for five years by that point. While he had been toweling off after a shower on Watchtower, he had seen Hal’s bare back and knew. The words “you’re Hal Jordan. If you can’t do this, then do no one can. I believe in you” were written in a way that almost formed wings on his back. Bruce remembered very clearly when he had said those words to him on the mission earlier that day. Hal didn’t say his words until a couple years into Tim being Robin.

- steph ends up with a service dog, courtesy of her mom, who proposed the idea and helped her with all the nescariky paperwork

- upon steph’s request, crystal opens up a bit about how and why she ended up dating Arthur and why it took so long for her to cut him out of her life (mostly bc of lacking the resources and fearing Arthur retaliating and hurting Steph or something) and how Arthur physically abused her and it kinda drove her into drugs and while Arthur’s out of her life and she’s clean and is financially stable, she’s still affected by Arthur’s past actions, and it helps Steph kinda see stuff from her mom’s pov and helps her get some closure from her childhood a bit

- crystal is vv accepting of steph being nonbinary

- Steph and Tim start up a compilation of stuff on Orpheus for a memorial, and the memorial helps steph get in touch with relatives and/or friends or orpheus and she and them swap stories about the man (let’s pretend Steph actually knew orpheus somewhat/interacted a bit w him), and it feels like getting a bit of closure for Steph

- Steph leaves Gotham for a bit in order to reflect n stuff and she encounters huntress, black canary, connor hawke n other people who either met her and mourned/missed her when she died, people who knew the people who had met her, or had just heard of her through the grapevine and it helps reassure her that yeah, her death did matter, people did miss her

- dick and Steph often babysit Damian’s pets when he’s on a mission or busy or something and Steph ends up gaining the reputation of a cool older honorary sibling and Steph ends up training w dick as well enough that her influence is visible in his fighting style

- cass and Steph end up starting the beginning of patching stuff up when they’re working on a mission together where either one or both of em ends up fear gassed and they end up opening up to each other to address the stuff that happened while they were on the fear toxin.

- cass has picked up baking as a hobby and much to the amusement of most of the batfamily, videos of the feared orpheus walking into a convenience store or grocery store in order to pick up baking supplies for has become a thing

- post steph’s redemption, there’s a mission where stephanie ends up having to interact w a bunch of kids to rescue them or something and while the kids are a bit hesitant at first, none of them are scared and as a matter of fact, by the end of the mission a bunch of kids are asking for piggybacks from orpheus and just generally think she’s one of the coolest and steph is totally not crying (she is) bc she’s realized kids are no longer scared of her like they used to be pre her redemption

thinking about a full and properly modded server with all the members of the dream smp, with like mo creatures, mr crayfish, bibliocraft, biomes o’ plenty, decocraft, CIT resource packs, THE DOG ONE THAT STACYPLAYS USED IN DOGCRAFT and the ones that add all different types of foods like pies and sandwiches and soups and all that fun stuff!!

and it’s a mostly “normal” server, in which there are no tyrranical governments or roleplay nearly as angsty as the dream smp. i’m basically thinking origins smp but softer, with more roleplay, and billions of mods that used to be popular back in the shadowcraft and dogcraft days. it would be more of a “found family of people that all left their previous homes for various reasons that they slowly get into detail with as they become closer to the others and they all develop a big family dynamic, but there’s occasional conflict since they can never get along for long periods of time.”

i’m sorry just iMagine all the possibilities???

tubbo would own ALL the animals like he’d just run a huge fucking zoo and live with all the animals hes tamed and he’d have like 80 dogs and all the bees on the server. not to mention his house would be absolutely DECKED with cute decor stuff. he’d have a huge portal hub for all the different dimensions that would be added to the game. he’d probably dabble in some witchcraft mods too with ranboo!!

wilbur would take mass advantage of bibliocraft and fulfil his dark academiac dreams by living in a nice tudor home in a plains biome with a gigantic library and a pond out back with fairy lights and some wheat fields. but underground he would have a gigantic lair where he grows sketchy plants he gets from tubbo that’re from other dimensions, and he makes potions and also collects various crystals and rare ores to sell illegally to other people.

niki and hannah would build a cottagecore village together with lots of eucalyptus and wisteria logs!! they’d do a lot of exploring to find all the cool biomes so they could collect all the flowers, crops, and trees possible. they would probably have a green house shop at spawn, as well as a cafe/bakery. despite their soft aesthetic, they would actually be two of the richest people on the server, and no one would fuck with them since they had some of the best modded armor and weapons from all of their travelling.

puffy would really like oceancraft, and also spend a lot of time travelling. she often bunked with niki and hannah, and occasionally with bad and skeppy in their own area. she just hung around spawn mostly and had a simple ocean monument inspired house on the shore, so she could access the sea easily for her distant travels. she would also love getting into the weirder parts of the mods, like the shape shifter mods and would have a massive collection of all the inverntory pets.

dream, george, and sapnap would band together and make a huge underground lair inside of a mountain that they put no effort into making pretty, but somehow doesn’t look like shit? sapnap would have a room dedicated to all the armor sets he set out to forge, and would have great pride in them. george would like indulging in the food aspects, like harvestcraft and mo’ foods. dream would try dabbling in the prank/security mods and have minor success, aside from the few holes he blew into the mountain and sets of armor he accidentally blew up which sapnap would never let him live down. he’d also probably do a lot of collecting and make various mob farms to get lots of cool loot to sell in spawn.

tommy would also collect lots of cool stuff, except he wouldn’t actually go out and find the materials for armor, fight mobs, or explore caves, no he would steal it. he commissioned sam to build a gigantic, overly complex and fancy house insisting it has as much detail as possible (im talking chisel mod, carpenters blocks, decocraft, mr crayfish ALL OF IT) but he never actually stays in it bc he prefers the stupid dirt mound he lived in on the first night (mainly bc he doesn’t feel like moving all of his stuff from said dirt mound into his giant mega-mansion and sam refused to do it, no matter how much money tommy offered him). he’d also wreak havoc, yk, stealing and hiding pets, burning houses, destroying crops, setting elaborate traps that don’t work but are just annoying to clean up. despite being chaos incarnate, he’d probably have a big farm and make cool foods and have a bed and breakfast at spawn.

fundy, sam, ranboo and tubbo would all really like diving into the red stone packs (obvi) like industrialcraft and all those prank/trap mods. they would start up a business to make elaborate redstone machines for people, and would have some of the coolest houses on the smp. they’d live in a huge treehouse colony in a jungle, and they’d have elevators and secret doors and a hidden vault underground. it would look amazing, and they would spend hours working on it, and it ends up being the prettiest build on the server.

ranboo, much like tubbo, wouldn’t live just in the jungle colony. he would also have his own base a couple hundred blocks from tubbo. it wouldn’t be super big or fancy, but he would decorate his house really nicely, and probably base some of the interiors off of other video games or something. he would collect lots of cats and dogs as to all keep him company in his house. he’d have some OP armor and tools, but be really humble about it? he’d like collecting the mob backpacks and have them all on display in his house in the woods.

bad and skeppy would live in a mesa where they would have a massive modern base where they test airplanes and helicopters n cars n shit. bad would def try to collect a bunch of animals, especially dogs (they would all be named after members of the smp based off of the vibes they give him). skeppy would be one of the richest bc he keeps all of his rare/expensive items in a hidden vault literally hundreds of thousands of blocks from his base. skeppy would definetly take advantage of the extra blocks and supplies for trolling.

ant would obviously collect cats, like the ones that you can pick up and they like wrap around your neck? and they have those adorable cat beds and smack you when they’re hungry? yeah he’d have a whole fucking army of them and whenever they’re hungry he’d just unleash them on anyone nearby just to piss them off. he wouldn’t have actually wanted the cats at first, since he thought it was just ironic and lame, but after he tamed his first one he just liked the company. he would build a whole separate house for his cats so that they could stay away from the workspace in his house where he would look into dinosaurs with jurassicraft.

connor would be a wandering vagabond who collects those cool mob backpacks and keeps all of his stuff inside of them and never settles down because he doesn’t have the money to commission someone to build a house and he’s just too fuckign lazy to build one himself lmaoo he’d end up rooming with tubbo for a while, just because he has multiple homes and has plenty of room spare.

schlatt would elect himself as leader (but not in a dream smp kinda way) he’d tax everyone and use the money to commission like forty vacation homes that he never lives in because he’s never active. he also likes to just fuck around and annoy people by breaking all the windows in their houses and stealing their doors, but no one can do anything about it bc he’s technically they’re leader and he probably somehow got access to creative mode. he definitely abuses his power, but not to a concerning extent. he’d just boost the price to buy land in the shopping district by ten diamonds every month and piss everyone off.

WEST SIDE STORY 2021

Just stumbled into watching west side story cz it appeared on Disney+ and I am obssessed with how intricate the conflict and characters are. (Specifically, the supposed side characters Riff and Anita.) - p.s. spoilers ahead!

Everyone is just,,, so flawed and so human? Like, I think we can all agree that The Jets' ideologies are pretty fucked up - beating people up for working in your country is just abhorrently wrong - but at the same time the story lets you understand them:

They're kids who were born at the bottom of the social ladder, and then failed to climb up despite their race being in their favour - so what does it say about them, that these immigrants come in and take what they think is their "territory"? This does not justify the way that they act, but it certainly shines a lens of understanding on these rotten boys.

They're still disgusting as a whole, don't get me wrong - the part where they assaulted Anita pretty much cemented that for me - but you sympathize with the situation society borne them into, and the hole they refused to be dug out from.

Core example? Riff, played by the talented Mike Faist (who is also original Connor Murphy for Dear Evan Hansen which is SO cool to see).

That boy, I am constantly torn between wanting to slam that guy in the head for being an asshole, or to hold his hand gently for being broken inside.

Which is a problem, because that kid doesn't want help. He thinks he's "born to die young", has careless regard for his life which he gives proudly, all for the responsibility of being The Jets' gang leader which he takes on only in the absence of his close friend Tony who just got out of jail. He's manipulative, dismissive and he doesn’t respect that Tony is trying to be better in his life because if Tony moved on, where would that leave Riff? He clearly just wants Tony to be on his side like they used to. The strong attachment bond between these two is just heartbreakingly obvious.

Even at the very end, when he tells Tony, "It's okay." after being stabbed in the side - you have to wonder, did he say that to comfort Tony, or because he knew that Tony would finish this fight for him over his dead body (quite literally.)? It's clear that he does care for Tony - when Tony started punching Bernardo in the same way he got convicted for - there's this flash of "He doesn't want to do this" in Riff's eyes and he lets him go to take on Bernardo himself, ultimately leading to his death. But was this planned on his part? Was he so sure that even if he did not win, Tony would have his back? Or did he do it just to protect his brother's pride? To protect his own pride?

.... seriously, who knows with this asshole. Such a complex character. gah.

And on the Sharks' side, you see Bernardo, this Puerto Rican gang leader who is just as hot-headed as Riff, the protagonist to Riff's antagonist or vice versa, depending on which side of the story you're standing on. He's just as vehement with this want to protect his family. The part in the beginning where he just started singing in Spanish with his gang in solidarity, was the coolest freaking thing I've seen this entire week. And when he plunges that knife into Riff, you can see this, moment of regret and understanding pass between these two poised fighters and it's just... they're just so young, so rash, so stupid and none of them expected to take someone's life even though they shout for a fight.

And you can also understand their struggle. Having to work their asses off in a foreign country, where industry is booming compared to their homelands - you understand and respect the hustle, the fevered need to protect where their efforts have brought them.

Honestly the character I esteem most on the Shark's side is Anita, Bernado's love interest.

She's so driven, so sure in her work here in America and above all, she has common sense. She knows fistfights don't stop anything, she understands when Bernardo's younger sister Maria loves a white man Tony - up until that white man KILLS HER BOYFRIEND. And even then she can find it in herself to understand Maria, and help her escape, and she was GOING to tell Tony where Maria planned to meet him - until the Jets without Riff or Tony, assault her like the disguting pieces of dogshit they are.

And the killer line that she sends? She tells Tony that Maria is dead, and honestly that was the biggest play she could have done in her position. Hurt him the same way he hurt her. Have Maria leave him, or he her.

Which brings me to my next point in the story. Tony and Maria's romance was so.... in characterly dumb. They're so fricken smitten with one another and I'm gagging on the sidelines but at the same time, I get the infatuation. It's stupid, and it's insane but I get it.

But seriously Maria, Tony just stabbed your brother who also happens to be Anita's lover - don't you think you're asking a little much from the person who just suffered a loss of a love while you try to preserve yours? Like, Tony dying, it's sad and all but like... sorry, you kind of had that coming.

But it's okay that they're blinded by emotions, because this isn't a story about glorified romance or violence. It's about conflict, and the ugly beautiful things that makes us human.

And I think that's the biggest takeaway for me in this story. Because I can't sing, I can't dance but I love stories that strikes core to me, and from West Side Story, this is the strike it gave me:

They're all flawed. Stupid. Prejudiced. Rash. Disgusting. But there is always reason for those flaws, reason that they are the way they are, a glimpse of understanding. They're just... human. Conflicted, emotional, foolhardy human. That's the poetic tragedy of it all.

And I love that

Tamaki Amajiki X FTM Reader

It’s your first day as an official sidekick at the Fat Gum agency, and you can’t breathe, and you don’t think it’s from your binder. You take in the entrance to the building with awe

This is it! You’re really a hero now!

Bounding into the building with all the excitement of a 5 year old in a candy store, you make your way to the receptionist. As soon as she acknowledges you, you say, “Hi! I’m Connor! my hero name is Magpie. I’m Fat Gum’s new sidekick!” “Oh! Fat Gum told me to expect you today!” She said. With a few quick keystrokes, she checks you in, and directs you to the elevator across the lobby. “Head right on in there, and go to the 9th floor. He should be in his office. I’ll let him know you’re heading up!” Smiling and thanking her, you head to the elevators, and make your way up. You bounce on the balls of your feet in nervousness. Although, you have of course met Fat Gum before and even worked with him, this is your first official day as his sidekick, and the pressure is starting to get to you. Before you can think about that more though, the elevator doors open, and you’re greeted by the double doors of his office. Walking up, you hear the voice of your new boss followed by a much quieter, almost nervous voice. You give a polite knock at the door, and you hear the voice of Fat Gum welcoming you in.

Peaking your head in before the rest of your body follows, You see the huge smiling face of Fat Gum of course, but you look to the side to see the face (or well, the cowering hood of) what could only be the pro-hero Suneater. You’re a huge fan of him. He graduated 2 years before you, but you know how incredible of a pro-hero he is from the work he has already accomplished as a sidekick only 2 years into his pro-hero career. You immediately begin staring at your shoes to avoid any possible eye contact, and Fat Gum speaks up. “HEY MAGPIE! It’s a pleasure to see you again! Are you ready for your first day of real hero work?” You immediately look up smiling, and your excitement is back. “Absolutely sir! I am beyond excited and honored for the opportunity to work alongside you and the amazing Suneater” You bend into a respectful bow, so you don’t get to see the bright red blush spread across Suneater’s face. “A-Amazing?!” he says before stepping a little behind where Fat Gum is sitting to shield himself from you.

Raising up from your bow, sheepishly glance up and say “of course… I’ve seen you on TV working with Fat Gum. You may have only been a hero for 2 years, but you definitely shine out there on the field!” Your compliment makes Tamaki inch his way entirely behind Fat Gum’s form.

Fat Gum chuckles and introduces the 2 sidekicks “Suneater, this is Magpie. His quirk allows him to seek out helpful objects and seal them away in a pocket dimension he calls his “nest” that he can pull from later on. While those objects are in the nest, they are frozen in time, so they do not alter or decay. He does have to make physical contact with the object though to seal it away. And Magpie, this is Suneater, and by the sounds of it you already know what his quirk is”

“Yes I do sir! I must say, manifest is one of the coolest quirks I’ve ever seen!” Your compliment once again strikes Amajiki right in his quivering heart. In a brief moment of courage though, he squeaks out “Not as cool as your quirk though. I’m sure it’s loads more helpful in battle than mine is.”

To quickly stop Amajiki from degrading himself further, Fat Gum steps in and says “You both are very powerful heroes, and you have your own strengths. This is why I will be partnering you two together! Suneater here will show you the ropes, give you the tour, and you will be going out with me on patrol starting in an hour.” Because he is hiding behind Fat Gum. You don’t have the pleasure of seeing Amajiki’s brief panic about having to be around you. Not because of anything you’ve done, but solely because of how attractive and cool you look. Amajiki is startled from his thoughts though by Fat Gum saying “Suneater, do you mind if Magpie and I have a moment to speak before you guys start the tour?” Amajiki immediately nods his head and rushes out of the room. With a slight chuckle, he turns his attention to you.

“Now Connor, I am aware of your… condition, but I want you to know that you will have nothing to worry about here. Our locker rooms have stalls in which you can change and shower comfortably, and of course you will be allowed to use the men’s locker room. As for who else will know about your status, that is entirely up to you. It is not my information to share and it is frankly no one else’s business whether or not you tell anyone. I don’t want you to be ashamed though. This is a safe place for you, and I will make sure you are welcomed by everyone, or they will have to answer to me. Understood?”

With Fat Gum’s speech, you are moved near tears. Being trans was something you seriously worried about when starting your hero career, and to see Fat Gum so supportive, it feels like a weight is off your chest.

“Th-Thank you so much sir. I’d really like to keep it a secret. At least for now. I’ve spent so long trying to pass. I’m just not sure I’m ready to deal with ignorant people again”

Fat Gum nods his head in acknowledgement, and says “alrighty then. So long as you know you’re safe here, I will support you in whatever decision you make.”

“Thank you sir”

“Of course! Now get outta here. Go meet up with Suneater, he’ll show you around, and then meet me down out front for our patrol in an hour”

With a new found pep in your step, you make your way out to a waiting Amajiki.

“Hi Suneater. Shall we get started?” “Y-Yeah. Let’s go”

After a mostly silent tour, except for Suneater quietly saying the names of each room you go into, you make your way out the front of the building to begin your first patrol as a sidekick!

~ <3 ~ After an uneventful patrol, and some necessary paperwork, you make your way to the locker rooms to shower and change. Luckily, because of the odd time, there was no one in there, so you didn’t even have to worry about anyone else bothering you. You grab your change of clothes, and make your way to a shower stall.

You work your way out of your hero costume, and the specialty binder attached to it. It was made specifically so you could exercise in it, and it's fitted into the suit itself, so it isn’t suspicious. It really makes you feel like your chest is really as flat as you want it. You quickly shower and start to put on fresh clothes only to find that your regular binder isn’t there. You search around for it, but nope, you definitely left it in your bag. You carefully listen in to the rest of the locker room, and after double checking to make sure you don’t hear anyone and even calling out “hello?” into the locker room and no one answering, you decide to make a mad dash for your bag not wanting to put your dirty hero costume back on after showering.

You make a stealthy speed walk out of the shower stall, round the corner to your locker, only to come face to face with a half naked Amajiki. You both scream simultaneously out of shock and mortification, and you grab your bag and run back to the shower stall, but there’s no denying that you watched him glance at your obvious chest before he looked away.

Mortified, you sink to the slightly wet floor and you begin to hyperventilate

Oh my god He saw He knows He’s gonna hate me What if he tells everyone? What if they hate me?! I can’t believe I actually thought I could be stealth here and have it work out.

Your thoughts start to spiral darker and darker as tears begin to make their way down your cheeks, and you hate yourself more and more.

Tamaki is standing still in a daze when he hears you crying in the showers. This snaps him out of his stupor, and he has a thought process of his own.

Why is he crying? Was I really that gross to look at? Wait Did he have breasts? Why would he have breasts? OH MY GOD I JUST LOOKED AT HIS BREASTS Is he… trans? Oh my god I’ve messed up. I have to fix this.

Gathering what shred of courage he has, he makes his way to the showers. Knocking on the door, he whispers out “Connor?” After hearing the cries muffle into sniffles he continues “Are you trans?”. With this the cries start back up again. Amajiki panics and begins to ramble “I-If you are trans that’s totally ok! Th-That’s your b-business! But y-you should know th-that I don’t think any less of you!! You’re still more of a m-man than I’ll ever be!!!”

With that, the cries are back down to little sniffles, and a broken “what?” comes from behind the stall door. Amajiki hears shuffling from behind the door, and the sound of the lock clicking. The door creaks open, and he sees a disheveled Connor peeking from the crack in the door “you can’t possibly mean that. I don’t even have a man’s body” Amajiki’s eyes widen and he gets a look of determination on his face. “Of course! You’re more of a man than I’ll ever be! You’re more handsome, stronger, more quick witted, and manlier than I could ever be!”

More tears begin to stream down Connor’s face, and he crashes into Amajiki, wrapping his arms around him. Amajki freezes for a moment before carefully wrapping his arms around him. The two stay like that for a moment before Connor says “Don’t you EVER put yourself down like that. You don’t deserve it. You are so much stronger than you believe and a better person than most, so don’t you ever believe otherwise!” A quiet “I’ll try” comes from Amajiki before the two separate from their hug. Amajiki lowers his eyes, and Connor quietly asks, “Do you really think I’m handsome?” Amajiki looks up in surprise and says “O-Of course! H-How could anyone n-not believe that?!” Connor with a blush on his face says “Well you’re incredibly handsome too. You should know that.” With a bashful silence falling over the room, Connor is the first to speak up.

“H-Hey Suneater-” “Amajiki” he interrupts “call me Amajiki… please” With a smile on his face, Connor continues “Well A-Amajiki, would you like to come get dinner with me? I know an amazing ramen restaurant not far from here.” Amajiki’s eyes widen, and a blushing grin covers his face “I’d like that very much, but only i-if you’re sure about that! I-I’d hate to bother you.” “You could never bother me Amajiki. So it’s a date?” you offer shyly. Amajiki looks down “a-a date… I’d like that.” So after finishing packing away your respective things, you guys begin to make your way to the ramen restaurant, side by side, and excited for what’s to come.

You think this might be the best first day at work you could have had.
