The thing about Dick Grayson is that he has such a unique quality that just draws people in and holds them captive.

He has a charisma that's intense. People from all walks of life find themselves just constantly looking at him for friendship, advice, love, guidance, and just something that calls them to him.

It's the impact he has on people that's astounding.

They love him so much and they respect him so much that his absence is like a huge gaping hole in their chest. People feel lost without him because they've come to rely so heavily on him. Gar and Steel literally only joined because Dick asked.

This is something Roy catches on to and is well-aware of. He practically hounds Dick into creating the Outsiders with him.

Raven and Lanterns

I don’t know how many people know this but Raven isn’t just an Empath. She actually eats emotions. So it’s been a bit frustrating that we don’t see much interaction between them. Like Raven is very controlled and been trained to only consume things like fear and sorrow but COME ON! It’s gotta be REALLY HARD to stand there while a 5 star meal like Hal Jordan or Sinestro walks by and you can’t even take a nibble.🧐🤣😋

Plus we don’t even know what emotions taste like for Raven.

Does Lust taste like Chocolate and Joy like Waffles?

What does Hope or Love taste like?

Murmerings of requited love emanated from the dining room. Morty, listening in the kitchen, realised that his daughter had a new beau.

Sandra had drawn on her fine upbringing and selected discerningly from the village's wellspring. Hal Capp not only carried the name but the knowledge of which silver piece to raise first at luncheons. The previous boy had no such notions - but it seemed he was forgotten as Sandra embraced puppy love anew.

The young gentleman took his leave later that evening, and the family took a private supper. (That is to say, the children partook; Morty and Stella observed, citing their afternoon high tea as nourishment aplenty). Xander, their youngest, appeared at the dining table in a midnight blue dress. It was adorned with golden sunrays and moonbeams, speckled with starlight, and pulled together with a vintage corset plucked from a suitcase in the attic.

"I have something to tell you," Xander said suddenly. "But... I'm a bit nervous, so, I'm going to say it looking at Bonnie, if you don't mind."

Four Roth heads swivelled towards the small brindled pup. She trotted past and stuck out the tip of her tongue in acknowledgement.

"I'm non-binary." Xander's immediate exhale and fork drop displayed their relief.

Three Roth faces directed their lit-up affirmations towards Xander. Stella rose to retrieve a champagne bottle to pop. She would have done that regardless - Sandra was on the precipice of moving to Mission University, securing lodging with the Capp heiress - but there was an extra toast to make.

Earth vs. the Spider (1958)

The only times Earth vs. the Spider isn’t predictable is when it forgets about basic storytelling rules and logic. Made on the cheap, featuring lousy special effects, with a misleading title and characters so unfazed by what’s going on you'll wonder if they're on drugs, it manages to become “so bad it’s good” thanks to its brisk running time.

When her father disappears one night, Carol (June Kenney) investigates with her boyfriend, Mike (Eugene Persson). Near his wrecked truck, they find a cavern and inside, a gigantic tarantula. With the help of science teacher Mr. Kingman (Ed Kemmer) and the initially incredulous authorities, the small bands together to defeat this threat.

The film’s title implies the spider is a threat to all mankind but really, it’s only after the small town. In fact, when the townspeople call for help, their efforts fail and they're left to deal with the man-eating arachnid on their own. It’s no surprise when we learn that their message didn’t reach the military because the messenger was eaten - probably the best bit of writing in this entire film.

What makes Earth vs. the Spider funny is how nonchalant everyone is. When searching for Mr. Flynn, Carol and Mike discover two human skeletons in the tarantula’s cave. Do they scream? Do they even seem surprised? Hardly. They don’t even bring these bones to the attention of the Sheriff when trying to prove there's danger in the cave. Later on, the spider is killed (or is it?) and brought to the high school for study. Its corpse is lying belly-up in the gym but the local cool cats need a spot to practice their instruments. Is the deceased eight-legged freak going to stop them from having a good time? No. In fact, their practice turns into a full-on school dance until their music wakes the thing up and it starts tearing the building apart! Finally, with the creature’s rampage resumed, you’d think Carol and Mike would you know, run for the hills, seek shelter, etc. Instead, they wander back into the cave so the lady can get the necklace she misplaced. I know it was the last thing her father gave her, but wouldn’t you rather live?!

Between the 40-year-olds pretending to be teenagers (Troy Patterson as Joe has to be the worst offender) and the hairy sticks being waved in front of the camera (they’re supposed to be spider legs), you’ll notice some of the most unhelpful authorities ever featured in a giant monster movie. It’s like the Sheriff doesn’t care that everyone he knows could soon be spun into silky cocoons. He basically leaves it up to Mr. Kingman - a high school teacher - to get this disaster resolved and only begrudgingly helps out. The teacher’s solution? If you don’t see it coming, I don’t know what to tell you. It’s foreshadowed as subtly as a 30-foot case of arachnophobia skittering down Main Avenue.

Everything wrong with Earth vs. the Spider makes it very easy to make fun of and before you run out of spider puns, the movie’s over. It offers unintentional silliness all the way to the end, which is one of the most inconclusive final moments I’ve seen in a while. In any other movie, it would be a setup for a sequel. Here? It’s just proof someone wasn’t paying attention. I won’t say it’s a “have a good time at its expense classic” but if you put in the effort, you can enjoy yourself plenty. (July 27, 2022)

Garfield Logan - For him, I can see him paling around with all the Wolvies, in particular Laura and Logan themselves. He looks up to Logan no doubt for the latter’s coolness factor and in turn Logan looks at this green fella with some uncertainty for how overtly excited he is but he finds it charming. Also no doubt Gar can shift into an actual Wolverine if Jonathan the Wolverine needs anything
