Hey uh sry to bother you but can you do a Mc who is TERRIFIED of the demons and every time they are threated, put in danger, attacked and killed, they don’t forgive and avoid them even more. They run away from them, in constant fear and paranoia and they hide in their room and barricades the door. They now carry a weapon like a knife or something and stay up with it because they are paranoid that they will break in and kill them. How are the bros gonna fix this?
Oh I'm gonna love figuring this one out. Let's see how far these demons will really go to fix this one. God I can feel this MC's fear and anger in my heart.
Edit: This became so long I had to divide it into two parts. The Headcanons or reactions of individual characters will be in the next part.
Also I'm so sorry for all the delays in answering asks btw. Its been super busy and overwhelming to write like I used to. I get so many lovely asks but I delay writing them or sometimes can't even write them at all. I'm genuinely so sorry.
Love and Consequences
(Pt. 1) || (Pt. 2) ->
Tumblr media
Alone. You're all alone here. This was the one lesson that night taught you. Not the angels, nor the human is on your side.
They are all age old immortals who've known each other for centuries. And you are just human who tried to their very best. You risked your life each day for monsters who would watch you die without batting an eye.
If the whole realm wasn't crawling with demons, you'd have run away without a second thought . But the best you could do now was hide, keep yourself safe and locked in your room, clutching a knife in your trembling hand.
"Oh, you dumb little human..."
Your blood still ran cold at his words, at his eyes. Noone had ever looked as terrifying as he did last night. It wasn't him that scared you, though, not at all.
It was how easy it was for the rest of them to not care. To move on, to watch you be betrayed and welcome the traitor with open arms. No you couldn't stay here any longer.
There was the dull knocking on the door again. You prepared yourself.
"MC, please, you haven't had food for days, please open up and eat some-"
"Why? So you can poison me this time? Watch me struggle to hold onto dear life again?" You screamed. "Get away from my door!"
_____________________________________
Asmo backed away from the door, flinching as if you'd slapped him across the face with all your strength. He went back to the dinner table, dejected.
"They refuse to come out. Screamed at me to get away again."
"MC is going to fall seriously ill at this rate. They haven't eaten in days." Satan ran his hands through his messy hair as he dropped a stack of books to the floor. Human Anatomy and more, they were called.
"Luke tried calling them last night. MC didn't pick up his call either." Beel said, fidgeting with the food on his plate.
Lucifer's eyes widened at the news. Then he glanced up the stairs and let out a deep sigh. If the baby angel wasn't acknowledged, the rest of them were definitely done for.
"Mammon you can't keep doing this too! Lucifer, look!" Levi pointed. His eyes were puffy, nose bright red. How long had he been crying?
Mammon wordlessly tilted his plate, all his food falling on Beel's plate. "I'm just not hungry. I'm leaving now."
"You said that yesterday too. Just listen to me. Sit down and eat, Mammon." Lucifer was too tired to be stern anymore.
"Listen to you? A whole lot of good that did to us." Mammon chuckled dryly as he got up and left without another word. Lucifer closed his eyes and leaned back.
"MC really hates me now huh?" Asmo sniffled. "I'm not used to being hated. I didn't know it hurts this much..."
"Ha. Welcome to my world." Levi let out a sardonic laugh. "Have fun, it keeps getting worse."
"Can we keep some food for MC in the fridge? Just in case they sneak out of their room to eat once we're all asleep?" Beel suggested.
Satan agreed, "I don't think we have another optio-"
"MC'S NOT IN THEIR ROOM!" Mammon screamed as he stumbled down the stairs.
"W-what?!"
"The windows were open, there's a rope made of the bedsheets attached to something, everything's a mess, they're GONE!"
"They escaped through the window?!"
"THIS LATE AT NIGHT?!"
"But when did- how- but MC- all alone-"
"There's no time. Everyone get your coats, we're leaving. I'll inform Diavolo and the others. We'll split into two groups and search for MC." Lucifer stood up, rushing to grab his things. Everyone else followed suit.
"I'm guessing that doesn't include me." Belphie said bitterly, still seated while everyone else was up and rushing about.
Mammon glared red at him. "Don't you dare follow us." He was the first one out the door.
"Considering what you did to the last person who tried to include you," Satan said, putting on his jacket, "it'd be better to leave you locked back in the attic."
Belphie looked at Beel. The sight of the rest of his brothers sickened him. But Beel only said, "On their very first month here, MC risked their life to save me from one of Lucifer's deadly attacks. If you were there, they would have saved you too."

"I thought I'd find you here."
Solomon's voice almost startled you off the tree branch you sat on. He was inches away, simply leaning against the trunk, sitting on the branch under yours.
You readied your weapon. "If you dare tell the demons, I'll-"
"I have no such intention. I simply came here at Luke and Simeon's request. They've been worried sick. And believe it or not...so have I." He gave you a pained smile.
You simply exhaled and rested your head back against the trunk too. "How did you find me?"
"You brought me here once. Told me this tree reminded you of one from your backyard and that me and this tree were your little piece of home in this hellhole." He answered.
"My mistake. You're more part of this world than you ever were part of mine." You cradled the knife in your hand.
He turned quiet, staring ahead, desolate.
"You should run soon. They're almost here." It was the last thing he said, before getting off the tree. But on the road back, he kept glancing back at you.
You sat up, alert. You could see Asmo's pale pink hair and Diavolo's panicked face in spaces between the fluttering leaves.
"MC! Is that you?! MC, wait!" Someone spotted you as dropped. You dived headfirst into some dread rose bushes.
Damn your eyes, Satan.
_________________________________
"Surely you knew this would happen." Simeon's voice was low but held repressed anger, about to overflow.
Barabatos sighed and shook his head. "I assure you, I did not. I donot look through the time portals as often as you think."
"Could you not look to see where MC is right now?" Luke shouted, turning around. He was running far ahead than anyone else.
"I did try looking, Luke. I'm afraid it showed me nothing. Someone is obscuring MC's presence with powerful magic." The butler replied.
There was a crease of worry on his usually calm face,that refused to go away.
"Magic powerful enough to obscure your portal? There's only one person strong enough to do that and he's been gone for the past hour." Lucifer grabbed a fistful of his hair and groaned.
"Hey look! Isn't that Solomon? And he's carrying something?" Luke pointed ahead, as the white haired sorcerer walked through some bushes with a solemn face.
"He's.. he's carrying MC! MC's unconscious!" Beel exclaimed before lunging forward at break neck speed.
"I'm taking MC home. They're too weak to spend another day here. You can meet us there, once MC's condition improves." Solomon said, coldly.
"What happened? Where did you find them?" Lucifer demanded to know.
"MC was trying to escape through the bush maze because Satan spotted them in the trees. I was waiting near the exit." He answered.
"By that time, MC looked exhausted, using the last of their strength to hold the knife close. I bent down to help them up, "Don't let them find me again. Please, Solomon." That's the last thing they said, before collapsing on me."
Silent tears spilled out of Luke's eyes. His entire body trembled with worry. Simeon put a hand on his shoulder, barely keeping it together himself.
Lucifer stared at your closed eyes and the knife you still held onto. He lowered his gaze and moved out of Solomon's way. "Get home safe, MC."
Barbatos summoned a portal without any prompting. "I humbly request you'll let us know when MC gains conciousness."
"No promises." Solomon said, before walking through and disappearing.

Part 3 : Elpis
A/N: I know that I have been gone for very long and almost abandoned these series. But I have exams going, and yesterday's paper was one of the shittiest ones I've ever written and I was feeling super down. So I came back to finish the angst, lol.
Anyways, I think it's lowkey rushed, but I hope everyone likes it :)
Also It felt so weird writing this chapters because I kept getting new ideas and I wanted to keep writing, but I didn't want to make it tooo long, though it's still pretty lengthy.
Repeating for clarity, MC DID NOT KNOW Mammon at all. She's a complete random stranger who happened to be there.
This part is going to be pretty heavy, so please proceed with caution.
Part 3 : Elpis
(Mammon x F!MC)
Warnings: Suicidal thoughts, Mammon is almost about to attempt suicide, bullying, verbal abuse, physical abuse, and mental abuse, blood, self harm, nightmares.
A LOT OF ANGST!!!
If you are sensitive to any of these, please do not read. This could be triggering.
Written in Third Person POV. Also, If there are any grammatical errors, please feel free to correct them.

———————————————————————
Simeon woke up with a gasp.
Beads of sweat lined his forehead as he desperately tried to calm his erratic breathing. It was the 6th time in a row.
He had another vision.
Simeon and Luke had temporarily returned to Celestial Realm after Luke fell seriously ill. Luke had almost recovered, but he needed a few more days to heal completely before they returned for the exchange program.
Simeon and Luke weren't aware of anything that had transpired back in Devildom in their absence, because they had left before the video was released.
But since past few days Simeon has been seeing terrible visions.
Visions of Mammon's death followed by utter chaos among his brothers, then a war with the human world. He vividly remembers seeing the Sorcerer's Society up in arms against the 6 brothers.
Solomon was there too, fighting against the brothers.
Simeon felt shivers when recalled how brutally Solomon ended Asmodeus's life after using their pact to his advantage. The entire war was a bloody mess with many dead, including Belphegor, Asmodeus, and Leviathan.
His visions never showed him the end of the war, so he never knew who won.
Wiping his forehead with the back of his hand Simeon decided it was time to talk to Michael. He needed to inform him about the visions and apologize for not telling sooner.
Getting out of his bed, Simeon got ready to visit Michael.
※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※
Michael appeared perplexed when Simeon told him about his visions.
Visions were not a part of Simeon's powers. Now he was seeing a recurring vision, that too one about a war between human and demons?
Michael sent Simeon back after reassuring him that he'll get in touch with him about this matter soon. Unsatisfied with Michael's answer Simeon reluctantly headed back to his place.
He had a sinking feeling in his stomach and he couldn't shake it off.
He cared about Solomon and the brothers, and he had grown very attached to them. These visions were like nightmares to him, and he felt absolutely helpless. He really wanted to do something to prevent all of this.
The thing that perplexed him the most was Mammon's death.
He did not know the cause of his death, he only knew that his body was found in the human realm with his heart ripped out.
Seeing his brother's body in that condition, had incurred Lucifer's wrath, equivalent to what he had seen during the war before his fall.
The brothers's had concluded the humans were somehow responsible for Mammon's death, and bathed the human world in blood. Simeon's head hurt just thinking about it.
"Father," he prayed. "Please protect everyone."

Barbatos and Diavolo had known.
They were aware of the tragedy that was about to occur, after all, Barbatos had already checked every timeline.
And unfortunately, all of them only had one outcome, Mammon's death.
Diavolo was devastated upon learning this. He had failed! He failed as the future King! How could he not protect his own subject, his dear friend Mammon?
Barbatos himself felt a little lost, his stoic persona wavered as remembered what he what he saw. Although, he never openly showed his affection for Mammon, he cared. He cared more than anyone would believe.
It was hard for either of them to digest the fact. There has to be something they can do to stop this!
Diavolo insisted on talking to Mammon immediately, but he was stopped by Barbatos, who informed him of how every effort made by them in other timelines had done more damage than help.
In one timeline, when they tried talking to Mammon about his mental health, he denied everything. He laughed it off and replied with a "Nobody can hurt the Great Mammon!"
In other timelines, if they punished the students for bullying him, they would isolate themselves even further from him and would call him a snitch or a baby. And if they tried to stop Asmodeus from releasing the video by going to the past, another video of Mammon would always surface.
In the end, they couldn't change the future.
The panic was slowly starting to set in as the time ticked.
Diavolo and Barbatos knew now they only had one option left.

The winds picked up as Barbatos chanted mantras to invoke his most powerful magic.
Diavolo stood not far away, looking at the figure at a distance with a grave look on his face, his demon form emerging as Mammon stepped closer to the edge.
The Prince of Hell had never imagined that a day like this would ever come. The guilt in his heart was immeasurable knowing he had failed his dear subject, and he had almost been too late to realize that.
Now they had no option but to do this. Barbatos was going to freeze the time on earth for a couple of hours until the full moon ended and then erase his memories from the past few months.
The next moon full as powerful as this one was three months away and that should give them more time to do something.
His eyes turned to Barbatos on his left as he stood in a trance-like state with his eyes closed, a dark aura emitting from him. He was almost done with the process.
"δεθιλΠγπξΨυΣἀἧΪΏ"
Barbatos began chanting louder, and his eyes slowly started opening to release his powers.
Diavolo turned his attention back to Mammon to check on him, and his eyes widened at what he saw. “Barbatos stop!” He yelled and grabbed the butler’s arm to break his concentration.
Barbatos fell on his knees, eyes opened wide and bloodshot, tears pouring out of them. "My Lord," Barbatos gasped, completely out of breath. "Why?"
Diavolo winced at Barbatos' state."Barbatos, I apologize. But we don't need to intervene anymore. He already has."

Silver butterflies.
They were a sign of God’s presence.
Diavolo, Barbatos and Lucifer were the only demons who knew about those butterflies. They are usually seen when someone who is about to die is about to ascend to heaven OR it meant that God was around.
Mammon, who was completely surrounded, couldn’t see the silver butterflies dancing around him.
They formed a line that was going in a particular direction. Almost like it was linking Mammon with something.
Or someone.
A human girl?
Diavolo and Barbatos watched from a distance, as girl approached the bridge. She too was surrounded by the silver butterflies.
And she could see them.
There was awe on her face as she stared at those beautiful miracles fluttering around her. The bright full moon, the silver butterflies, and the gentle cool winds made the scene look magical.
Diavolo and Barbatos watched as the girl followed the butterflies giggling, not noticing Mammon.
Until she did. Her eyes fell on Mammon's figure, still in his human form, standing on the ledge with a painfully serene look on his face. The silver butterflies long forgotten, she ran towards Mammon with wide eyes and a panicked expression.
"No," she gasped, grabbing Mammon and pulling him down. “Please, please don’t do it.”
"What da hell?" Mammon cursed. "Who are ya?"
The human who was smiling and giggling just a few moments ago, now had heavy tears flowing down her face.
"Please don't do this."
"What is it to ya?" Mammon yanked his hand out of the human's hands.
"It's not worth it, please. Don't do it." she repeated.
Mammon sighed irritatedly. "Look human, ya should go back. Ya don't know me and it's not yer place to tell me what to do."
"Please, it will hurt your loved ones--"
"I DON'T HAVE LOVED ONES." Mammon roared. "I am a scumbag, I don't deserve to live or be loved."
"That's not true!"
"What do ya know?!"
"Yes I don't anything!! But what I do know is that nothing in this world is worth more than your life. It doesn't matter who loves who. It's never going to be worth more than you!"
Mammon stayed silent.
"Why should you die for their sins? Why should you suffer because they aren't good people? I'm sorry you had go through whatever you did, I'm sorry you don't think you deserve to be loved, and I'm really sorry that you find solace in the idea of dying. But please please please for the love of God, please don't do this"
Mammon wanted to scoff at the human. For the love of God? His father who he betrayed for his wretched brother who has abandoned him now?
Karma, it's probably Karma, Mammon thinks.
He didn't want to listen to the human in front of him, after all she was speaking the truth. He shouldn't have to suffer for his brothers.
But he was tired. Mammon didn't feel like he had enough strength to be strong another day. He had forgotten how to love himself, and without love he knew he would shrivel.
Death was really the only option left.
Mammon realized that he shouldn't waste his time any further talking to this human. She was too nice for him and it's pretty late for a human girl to be out anyways.
"Look, I get what ya tryin' to say-"
"No," she stopped him from speaking, taking a hold of his arm again. " I am not going to let you do it. You better be prepared to kill me if you want me to let go of you."
"Have ya lost yer mind?" Mammon looked at her with disbelief.
"No, I have not. But I will lose my mind because of guilt if I ignore this and let you do it."
Why? Why was this human going so far for him? Pity? Guilt?
"I will be there for you. We can be friends."
Mammon scoffed. What an arrogant human.
"Yer as stupid as ya look. Ya think I won't kill ya? And what makes ya think yer sob speech is enough to not make me jump? Ya only wanna be ma friend outta pity and I don't want any of that. Ya don't havta feel guilty or anythin. The world is not yer child an yer not responsible for it. Go home."
Mammon forced himself out of the human's grip and stood up. He looked at her, as she stared blankly at the ground.
He felt bad for being rude to her, but he had no choice. Mammon didn't like pity. After giving her one last look and climbed the edge again. He was about to switch to his demon form when a thought crossed his mind
Won't the human get terrified if she sees his demon form? What if she has nightmares?
"Give me one minute," she spoke interrupting Mammon's train of thoughts. She whipped out her phone and began typing furiously.
Is she calling for help? Will I have to deal with more annoying humans?
"Done," she declared and tossed her phone to the side of the bridge. It landed sideways and you could hear it crack.
What the--?
"Can you move a little and make some space for me? " She asked Mammon, coming over to where he was standing.
Mammon stood on a small ledge that at the end of the bridge. It was the darkest corner and that's why he chose it. Although it was small, it could still hold two people.
"What are ya doing?" Mammon questioned, as the human struggled to get on the ledge.
"Joining you."
"What? Why? Human have ya seriously lost yer mind?"
"No."
"Then what hell is yer problem ?! Why can't ya just leave me alone? Was that irritating speech of yours jus' empty words? Does the same logic not apply to ya?" "My brother committed suicide six months ago."
What--??
"I was the one who found his body. It was dark when I entered his room and his legs hit my face. He was hanging from the ceiling."
Mammon was left speechless at this sudden confession.
"I often wondered you know, why did he do it. He didn't leave a letter, a note, or even gave a proper goodbye. He was my only family. I haven't moved on from his death yet. What if I had paid attention, would I have noticed that my always happy and smiling older brother was actually struggling? Did I ever notice how tired he looked or how lifeless his eyes were? If I had, maybe he would still be here."
There was a pause, as she struggled to continue.
"Maybe if I was a better sister, maybe if I wasn't such a burden, then he wouldn't have died. I feel so pathetic you know. So useless. If anything he deserved to live more than I do. He worked so many jobs to ensure we both had a roof over our heads and food on our plates. He sacrificed most of his life to make sure that my life was good, and what did I do for him? Nothing." "Hey stop. Yer not to blame for anything that happened, and ya don't havta to tell me if it's so painful--"
"No, I am telling you all of this because I want you know to that I don't a reason to live either. I had lost my will to live the day my brother died, but I kept going because everyone told me that my brother would've wanted me to be happy. I tried, I tried so hard to be happy but I couldn't. And today when I saw you on the ledge wit the same expression as my brother on the day he killed himself, I felt the world slip under my feet. If I can't stop you from killing yourself, it's going to destroy me. So why not join you? I always feared dying alone anyways."
She had successfully climbed up and now stood beside Mammon now.
"If you don't mind, can I request something? Can we hold hands when we jump?"
Mammon could tell she was trembling, he could sense her fear.
Humans truly are the most annoying species in the whole of universe.
"Tch, stupid human," Mammon grumbled and picked up the human in bridal style. He got down from the ledge and walked away from the corner, still holding her in his arms.
"What are you doing?"
"Shuddup, I'm taking ya to the mental hospital. Ya need some serious help."
"Do you know the address to one?"
"No, but ya will tell me. I know ya know."
"Fine, I'll tell you. But can we please stop at my place for a bit? I have to pick up a couple of things."
"Tch tch, Annoying little human."

Just so Tired
Summary: Mc doesn't know how much more of this they can take.
Warning(s): angst, om nb spoilers mostly L15 spoilers, cussing
Word count: 603
A/N: Just a quick angsty nightbringer drabble, I know there are a lot of these but I rly like em. I've been so very caught up in getting the last bit of school done before summer break, just a few more days and ill hopefully be able to post more again.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
They all looked so happy there, just talking to Satan and asking all these questions about his books. Even Satan began to grow more excited as he answered them, reminding you of Levi when he talked about his interests. Times like this always made your heart grow warm with love and the feeling of peace, seeing them all happy together, not fighting, bickering, and with no problems that need fixing. You always made sure to stay quiet and just watch during these times unless any of them brought you into the conversation, you didn't want to disturb them and you were happy to just watch with a soft smile and warm eyes.
You felt so at home here, well obviously, this was your home and had been for years. And there for a moment you forgot, forgot all about how these brothers barely knew you and how much of an outsider you were to them, about how they don't share the memories you have with them.
But that moment was short and you were brought back to reality not a second later when Satan went on about a book he had recently started, looking at the cover you recognized it. It was one of the first books he had recommended to you, he always talked about how much of a good classic it was. And just like that, your guard was up again and you were aware of your position in this place.
You were their attendant, not family. This house was no home to you, at least not now. You could feel your heart being ripped apart for what felt like the millionth time since that fucker sent you here. You didn't know how much more you could take.
There was a ball that formed in your throat as you looked onto the warm moment before you. You truly hated it here, you hated how you couldn't be fully open with your family, with the people that you had grown to trust and love so much. You hated that you could no longer trust them and you had to be careful with what you said. You would love nothing more than to take Beel and Belphie up on their offer of talking to them, but you couldn't, you couldn't tell them a damn thing.
That ball grew as tears threatened to spill from your eyes and it felt like you would have to choke back sobs at any second. While they were distracted you quietly slipped out of the room and slowly made your way through the house, seeing it now as a reminder of the situation at hand only helped the tears spill.
By the time you made it out the front door, your cheeks were already stained with tears and more were following. Grabbing your DDD from your pocket you dilled for Solomon,
"Hello dear Mc, what cracklin'-" Solomon paused his sentence as he heard your choked-back crying, he only sighed and reassured you he'd be there soon to pick you up. By the time he got to the House of Lamentation you had stopped crying and just staired blankly at the ground with your knees hugged to your chest.
He sat next to you on the stone stairs, allowing you to rest your head on his shoulder. "Solomon..." You spoke quietly, almost to yourself. "Yeah, Mc?" There was a silence between the two of you that setaled back in for a moment before your shaky horse voice cut through it once more, "I..I'm tired..."
The wizard sighed and placed a protective arm around your shoulders "I know Mc...I know..."
The Mark of Greed - Mammon
Tumblr media
Pairing: Mammon x reader
Genre: angst -> fluff, hurt/comfort
Word Count: 2.4K
Summary: mammon can’t help but notice that you refuse to talk about his pact mark, and he’s determined to find out why
CW: hurt/comfort, angst, violence (reader gets attacked by demons), mutual pining, self deprecating thoughts, arguing/yelling, angsty! Mammon, love confessions, misunderstandings
i definitely did not write all of this at 3am. nope. idk i had this image in my head of soft! Mammon tracing your pact mark and telling you he loves you so here it is lol. i got super carried away and ended up making this super long too oops
————
The best kept secret in the Devildom, aside from Satan’s pet cat, was your pact mark. Not just any pact mark—no, it was the shimmering gold one that marked Greed. Right from the day you got it, you knew you should keep it hidden.
Always wearing clothes to strategically cover it, lying, deflecting and giving different answers every time someone would ask. Mammon watched all this, and said nothing. Sure, it was a little funny, but it also made him wonder.
Did you hate him? Was the mark of greed as awful as he always thought it was? Was his touch so ugly and toxic that you didn’t want anyone to know about it?
Maybe his brothers were right. Maybe there was something wrong with him. You were so open about your pacts with his brothers, gladly showing them the swirling coloured patterns that marked your body. You showed them off unashamedly, proudly displaying the marks as part of yourself.
It made him jealous, really. You were his human. You were his first. His pact was your first—so why did you hate it so much? He always pegged envy as Leviathan’s emotion, but the more he watched, the more he realized his turmoil was enough to rival the otaku himself.
You first notice Mammon withdrawing after you show a demon in class your pact mark with Beel. An orange sigil just above your belly button that you displayed proudly with crop tops and bathing suits. You could feel Mammon’s eyes on you the whole time, watching you as you explained the beauty behind the mark.
“It’s not just cause he’s the Avatar of Gluttony,” you explain, fingers tracing the orange outline. “But it also relies on emotions. In this case, the comfort he brings me is like having a full stomach. It sits right at my core because he’s my support.”
You swear you see blue eyes roll to your left, but you shrug it off. He’s probably just upset because Lucifer confiscated Goldie again. Still, you can’t help but think he’s jealous of the way you’re talking about Beel.
When you walk home later that day, Mammon is short with you. He barely acknowledges you or responds to anything you say, instead he slumps his shoulders and shrugs you off.
“Mammon, is everything okay? You seem…upset,” you note.
“The Great Mammon? Upset?” He tsks, “maybe your time in the Devildom has made you dumber, y/n.”
“I was just checking on you…”
You don’t wait for him to say anything else and instead throw open the front door and stomp to your room in silence. If he wants to be a jerk, you’ll let him be a jerk.
You practically throw your backpack across the room and slump on your bed. One of your pact marks aches and the thought makes you cringe. Of course it’s that one.
Ever since you got it, you’ve tried so hard to keep it hidden. Not even telling Mammon himself where it is. I mean, if he knew, what would he even say? You could almost hear his voice in your head telling you that you’re delusional to think you could ever be with him, dismissing your feelings and breaking your heart.
You get up and sit in front of the mirror, pulling off your shirt so that you can examine your skin. There, sitting above your heart, is the golden mark of Greed. You trace it lightly. It’s always been your favorite, the colour and the design by far the prettiest. You just wish it wasn’t where it was.
When you first got the mark, when you felt it sear itself into your skin, you knew what it meant. It was a visual representation of the butterflies in your stomach and the clenching in your heart every time you saw the Avatar of Greed.
Still, you found yourself flipping through the pages of Satan’s personal collection. You honestly hoped it was just random, a weird coincidence or a mistake—but the books said otherwise. They confirmed your fear.
When the others started to make pacts with you, you worried the same thing would happen. That they would show up in the same place or worse. You can still remember the immense relief you felt when you made your pact with Levi and have the mark show up on your thigh.
Levi was so excited to ask about his mark and when you let him touch it? He almost exploded. That was the first time Mammon asked you about his mark, and it was the first time you lied to him.
You groan in frustration and pull your shirt back on, trying to blink away the image of his branding. A part of you always wanted to tell him, to show him and have him touch it. But the other part couldn’t get it out of your head that you’re just a burden to him. You’re his responsibility and that’s the only reason he hangs around you.
You only wish things could be simpler.
Mammon slams the door to his room and sinks down against it. He tugs on his white hair so hard it hurts, but the pain isn’t enough to wash away the frustration bubbling in his chest.
Why did he have to be so mean to you?
Maybe if he was nicer you wouldn’t hate him or his pact mark. Maybe if he was nicer to you he might actually have a chance of being with you.
The sound of his voice rings in his ears, echoing off his skull. He hates it. He hates how mean he was to you, and the guilt eats him up.
Finally, it becomes too much and he forces himself to his feet. He should apologize to you. Because Lucifer would kill him if he knew how mean he was being…not for any other reason.
You open the door to see him standing in front of you, fidgeting with his hands. “What’s up?”
“I—Lucifer would be mad at me if I didn’t apologize to you,” he says, eyes focused on his shoes. “‘N I don’t wanna be strung up tonight so I’m sorry human.”
“It’s fine. Just—why were you so upset earlier, anyways?”
He shrugs his shoulders, still avoiding eye contact with you. How can he tell you that he’s jealous and angry that you don’t want to show off your pact mark? It’ll make him sound like a little kid.
“Mammon, come on. It’s just me.”
He sighs, “not that I care but I don’t get why you hate my pact so much.”
You freeze, your blood like ice in your veins. All this time you’d been withdrawing from him, you knew he noticed but because he never said anything, it was easy to ignore. Not anymore.
“I-I don’t hate it.”
“Then why do you never show anyone?”
“It’s just,” you shrug, “in a weird spot. I don’t know—I don’t hate it. I just don’t want to show it off.”
“Because it’s ugly, right?”
“Mammon—“
“Why would anyone want to be marked by Greed?”
“Mammon—!”
“Imma dirty scumbag anyway. Making a pact with you was the most selfish thing I ever did. Tying you to me for life, why would you ever want that?”
“Mammon, Jesus. Just listen to me!”
The demon stops his self deprecating rant, staring at you expectantly. He doesn’t know what you’re about to say, but all he can hope is for you to tell him that’s it’s not true. That it’s not ugly, that you want to be tied to him.
Your words fail you. You interrupt his rant and suddenly your mouth goes dry under the gaze of his blue eyes and your words all fall away. Your heart beats a mile a minute, drawing more of your focus to the pact mark that connects the two of you.
You stare at each other for a minute, and then Mammon turns on his heel and storms out of the room.
It takes you a minute to process what just happened, and another minute for you to follow him. By the time you make it to the staircase, he’s already slamming the front door shut behind him.
Everything is moving so fast. The illusion that you were protecting yourself from Mammon hating you has shattered—replaced by the realization that you’ve been hurting him this whole time. You can’t think of anything except for how to make this right.
Without thinking about it, you follow him out of the door and into the streets of the Devildom. It’s dark out and you have to squint to see the familiar white hair receding into the distance. You pick up the pace, wanting to catch him before he disappears.
You’ve never been outside alone before. It’s too dangerous, they always said. But that’s the furthest thing from your mind right now. All you want is to make things with him better.
“Mammon!” You call, heading up the hill behind him.
When you get to the top, the demon is no longer in sight. You spin around to see if he doubled back to the house, only to realize it’s no longer in sight either. The horrible realization that you’re lost starts to set in and you find yourself reaching into your pocket for your DDD—only to remember you left it in your backpack.
There’s a hissing noise nearby and you’re suddenly acutely aware of how vulnerable you are here. Without thinking, you start to run back the way you think you came. You hear two pairs of footsteps behind you, they’re gaining on you. Whatever is chasing you, it’s going to catch you.
A clawed hand takes your back and hot pain erupts within you. You fall to your knees and scream, warm blood trickling down your back.
You try to get back up but you’re shaking so badly that your knees refuse to cooperate. There’s two demons behind you, only vaguely humanoid with glowing eyes and flickering tongues. They’re speaking, but not in any language you understand.
They circle around you, taking some sort of sick amusement in watching their prey cower. One of them lashes out at your chest, three claws slicing the front of your shirt and causing blood to pool down your chest and stomach.
You reach up to clutch the wounds, your fingertips brushing against the golden pact mark. I’ll never get to tell him how I feel, you realize.
“I’m sorry, Mammon,” you murmur, tracing your pact mark one last time.
A jolt of energy rushes through you followed by intense golden light in front of you. You squeeze your eyes shut, waiting until it dims to open them again. When they’re open, you see Mammon in demon form, standing between you and your attackers.
All it takes is a flick of his hand before they erupt into dust. You knew he was powerful, but seeing him in action only confirmed the fact.
“Mammon..?”
He drops to his knees in front of you, his hands frantic as they search you for injury. His fingertips fall on your open shirt and clawed chest. “You’re hurt…”
“I’m sorry, Mammon,” you mumble.
“I know.” He says, “let’s just get you home, okay?”
He scoops you up in his arms effortlessly, holding you close to him. You’re sure your blood is dripping all over him and wrecking his new shoes, but you’re too disoriented to care.
Mammon sets you down on the counter in the bathroom, “move your hand, alright? I gotta make sure you’re not gonna die.”
Without thinking about it, you move your blood coated hand off of the pact mark. Mammon slowly peels off your shredded shirt, his eyes going wide when he sees what your hand was covering.
Somewhat hidden by the blood and fabric yet unmistakable, is a golden mark. Not just any golden mark—his golden mark. His pact mark and its above your heart?
His hands shake as they brush the outline of it. “My—my pact mark is on your heart?”
You bite your lip and nod slowly, looking anywhere but at him.
Mammon is in complete disbelief. This whole time he thought his feelings were one sided, that you hated him and hated his pact even more. But to find out that it’s on your heart of all places—right as he almost lost you? He’s almost entirely overwhelmed by his feelings.
His hands shake the whole time he bandages and disinfects you, his mind only set on the branding above your chest. When he’s done fixing you up, he can’t stop staring at it.
“You got lucky that the Great Mammon was here to protect you today,” he tries to play it off.
“I-it was only cause I summoned you with the pact.”
The mention of the pact makes his head spin again. His mouth is suddenly dry and his hands sweaty.
“Mammon,” you mumble, still unable to look at him, “please say something.”
His voice is low. “Do you know what it means when a pact mark forms over your heart?”
You shake your head, butterflies erupting in your stomach.
He reaches out to trace the swirling lines of the mark, his touch featherlight. “It means I’ll always be there for you, y/n.”
His tone is serious, unlike anything you’ve heard from him before. You don’t dare move or interrupt him, wanting to hear what the demon has to say.
“It means that I’ll never let anyone hurt you,” he mumbles. “That I’ll take care of you no matter what. It means that you own me. It means that I—“ he swallows hard, looking at the floor. “I love you, y/n. Now and forever.”
You flinch at his words. They’re all you wanted to hear and yet hearing them has awakened something inside of you.
Your eyes finally meet his. “You—you really mean it?”
“I love you,” he gently kisses the centre of his mark on your body. “I love you.”
“Mammon,” you say, “I love you.”
Mammon might burst at your words. He reaches up to cup your face, planting a needy kiss on your lips. His touch is desperate, needy, way overdue. You melt into him, his taste so familiar and comforting that you don’t need to think twice about it.
Mammon smiles against you. If you had asked him a week ago, he would say that his pact with you was the most selfish thing he’s ever done. Looking at you now, though, he sees it as a sigil of his love for you, and what could be more selfless than that?
When Lucifer wakes up, the left side of his bed is cold.
It's not the most unusual thing. Lucifer was much less of a morning person that you were. He glaces to his bedside table. 8:30; it was too early for you to be out of bed on the weekend. Even if you woke up early, you'd still be tucked into his arms, or scrolling through Devilgram on your D.D.D.
Lucifer sits up, a pout on his face. You couldn't have strayed too far in such a short time.
"Beloved?" He calls, hoping you could hear him if you were in the bathroom. Lucifer says your name, this time a little louder, but again gets no response.
It wasn't your turn to be on breakfast duty... Perhaps you had a bad dream? You did tend to hide those things from him.
He closes his eyes and thinks of you. Usually, he would feel a faint warmth, like the fluttering of a moth's wings underneath his skin; it was the feeling of your soul connected to his through your pact. But now, even with all his focus, the feeling of your soul connection is nothing but a cold static.
Lucifer swallows the panic welling up in his chest and stands, quickly throwing on his clothes and rushing from his room. He starts in the basement, looking in any place a human could possibly squeeze into, desperately calling out your name. The ever-composed Lucifer, reduced to tearing the house apart when his human isn't in his sights.
He hopes that he is overreacting. He hopes that he'll find you curled up with Mammon, or on a walk outside the house.
He hopes that you are still somewhere that he can reach.
"Oy, Lucifer, what's going on?" Mammon. Lucifer takes a deep breath and tries to collect himself. If he let himself be emotional, his brothers would take that as a sign that something is very, very wrong. He would have to hold himself together, for now. "You're waking everyone up."
"Mammon, have you seen MC?" Calm enough.
"I haven't seen 'em since last night, they were with you, right?" You and Lucifer stayed up late to finish paperwork for your new student council role. "You didn't make 'em angry, did you?"
Lucifer's pout deepens. He's sure he'll age a millennia faster with how much he worries over you. "No, nothing like that. We finished up the assignments and then went to bed." Lucifer sighs, "and then when I woke up this morning, they weren't there. It's unlike them."
"You sure they just didn't go for a walk or something?" Mammon checks his phone to see if there were any messages from you.
"Mammon... try to connect to them with your pact."
Mammon closes his eyes, and repeats the same action Lucifer did only a few minutes prior.
Nothing.
Mammon instantly shifts into his demon form, fear evident in his eyes.
"I'm gonna go drag Solomon over here. He'll be able to track 'em if they're nearby, right?"
"He should be. Bring Simeon too, if he's there.". Lucifer straightens himself out. "I'll wake Leviathan and then go get Diavolo and Barbatos. Maybe they'll know more about what's going on."
Mammon nods, out the door before Lucifer can even finish his sentence.
Lucifer doesn't allow himself any more moments alone, he rushes upstairs to shake Leviathan awake.
-`♡´-
"No need to pound on the door, Mammon." Simeon smiles, but Mammon can tell he's annoyed. Giving Simeon a minute to open the door was Mammon's idea of being patient, he had half a mind to knock the damn thing off its hinges. "Is there anything—".
"Where's Solomon?" Mammon cuts him off, pushing past him and into Purgatory Hall's living room. The smell of fresh coffee fills the air; just how early did these guys wake up?
"He's still sleeping, I believe. Why are you in such a rush?" Simeon asks.
"MC's missing. Need him to find them. He in his room?"
"What?"
"You heard me!" Mammon can hardly keep it together. He didn't want to talk about it, he knew that if he started talking he wouldn't be able to stop.
He hadn't felt your soul connection so cold since... since...
"What's going on?" Solomon steps out of the hallway, still in his pajamas. "I heard Mammon yelling. What happened to MC?"
Of course he'd have been listening in. "Lucifer woke up this morning and they weren't there. Can't hardly feel their soul at all, it's like they're—".
"What do you mean?" Solomon's eyebrows quirk up, clearly not expecting to hear that. "What does it feel like?"
"Damn it, Solomon, it feels like it did when Belphie... y'know." Mammon can't bring himself to say it. It was too awful, what he did to you. "Enough talking, do your magic thing and find 'em!"
Solomon and Simeon exchange worried looks. "Alright, let me get dressed. Then we'll head off. But Mammon...".
"What?" Mammon huffs, already heading towards the door.
"I'm sure they're fine. You know how capable they are. Perhaps they just wanted some alone time."
"Yes, MC has survived a lot. I'm sure they just popped back up to the Human World or something... We'll probably be laughing about this with them at the end of the day."
Simeon smiles, but it doesn't reach his eyes. Mammon tries not to let the thought that they might be trying to placate him bother him.
-`♡´-
"You want me to watch over our brothers? Why? What's happening?" Levi sits up in his bathtub bed, disoriented from being shaken awake so suddenly.
He had heard the commotion earlier, but assumed that Mammon had done something to warrant Lucifer's ire. Lucifer searching through Levi's room while he was sleeping wasn't the strangest occurrence. Mammon did hide things in here from time to time.
"Levi, don't worry over this right now. I'll fill you in once we figure out what's going on."
"No, Lucifer, tell me now!" Levi stands, suddenly very awake. "You're worried over something, and you're never worried, not like this."
Even standing up straight, Lucifer was still looking down at Leviathan.
"Telling you would only make the situation worse." Levi hates how patronizing Lucifer sounds. He hated it when they first fell and he hated it now. "Make sure the others stay put, I'll be back soon."
Levi moves quickly to stop him from leaving. "If you don't tell me, I'll... I'll summon Lotan!" Lucifer steps forward, but Leviathan doesn't budge. "I'll really do it, Lucifer! I'm serious about this!"
It would probably take Levi a few hundred years to muster up the courage to stand up to Lucifer like this again. But watching the cold pity fade from his brother's eyes and turn into something more akin to pride was worth it.
"MC is gone, and I'm going to the Demon Lord's Castle to seek Diavolo and Barbatos's help." Lucifer says it with such a barely-maintained calmness that Leviathan knows this is serious. That you weren't sucked into a silly game or hiding out in Purgatory Hall for the weekend.
Levi feels his heart sink.
"Now, can you do as you're told and stay put? I'll be back soon." Lucifer squeezes Levi's shoulder, forcing Levi to listen. "If anything happens, call me."
He nods, but once Lucifer turns to leave, he quietly falls back into bed. Levi watches Henry swim around in his goldfish tank; you had just fed him yesterday, how did things change so much in just a few hours?
No, he can't shut down here. If something happened to you and he wasn't there to help he would never forgive himself.
You had saved him so many times before, it was time for him to be your Knight. (God, he sounded like a normie).
-`♡´-
When Mammon arrives back to the House of Lamentation with Simeon, Solomon, and Thirteen (Solomon had called her for help), the front door is blown off its hinges. Levi peeks through sheepishly at the four of them, waving for them to come in.
"What the hell happened here?" Thirteen tries to shut the door behind them, but it slowly starts to creak back open as soon as its closed.
"I told Satan what happened." Levi sighs, fiddling with the ends of his sleeves. "He went out to calm himself down. Said he'll be back by the time Lucifer gets home."
"Have you guys found anything here?" Simeon asks Leviathan. Just past Levi in the living room was Asmodeus, who was anxiously staring down at his phone.
Beel descends the stairs at the same time Belphie comes up from the basement: "I checked all the rooms upstairs, they're not up there."
Belphie shakes his head: "They're nowhere in the basement, either."
"I've been texting anyone that knows them from R.A.D. No one has seen them yet." Asmodeus blinks back tears. "This is crazy, you know! Why does this kind of thing always happen to them?"
"Well, they're not dead. So stop acting so sad!" Thirteen chimes in, sprawling herself out on the living room couch. "I checked their candle this morning myself. I can check again but trust me, I would know if they died. I'm a reaper, y'know?"
"You checked their candle this morning? Isn't that quite a walk from where you sleep?" Despite the situation, Solomon just can't help himself. Thirteen sits up and throws a pillow at the sorcerer, cheeks flushed.
"I just had some business over there, that's all." Thirteen huffs, sinking back into the sofa so she doesn't have to see Solomon's smug face. "Anyways, aren't you supposed to be doing your thing?"
"Yeah, get to it, Solomon." Mammon tugs on the back of Solomon's cape, pointing him towards Lucifer's room. "They were last seen in there. See if you can find anything."
-`♡´-
Simeon stands near the doorway to Lucifer's room with Mammon, watching as Solomon searches for traces of anything that might give them a clue as to your whereabouts.
Simeon had thought that he had accepted being human. He thought the feeling of powerlessness that was so overwhelming to him at first had finally settled; there was nothing he could do to gain his grace back after what he had done, after all.
But now? He knew even as an angel there wasn't much more he could do to find you. If he had become your Guardian Angel like he had teased so many times, he could at least feel out if you were in danger.
Cautious Simeon, always so scared to make that final jump.
He says a prayer for you, quietly. Simeon hopes that his Father would still lend his ear to his own child, no matter how far he had strayed.
"There's one strong concentration here." Solomon frowns, gesturing to an area a little above shoulder height, right beside the left side of Lucifer's bed. "but that's all I can sense right now."
"Yeah, there's gotta be something else you missed." Mammon anxiously looks around the room, checking to see for himself if anything was out of place. "Keep looking."
They both follow Solomon as he does just that. He checks Lucifer's bathroom, in the closets, in the halls by his door... Nothing.
"I just don't get it." Solomon says, eyes closed in thought. He leans against the low table in the hallways. "If someone went through all this trouble to kidnap MC, why would they leave such an obvious trace behind?"
"Who gives a shit their motive right now. Tell us that you found something that can lead us to them, Solomon." Desperation drips from Mammon's voice. Mammon needs some hope to hold on to; Simeon empathizes with that feeling.
If Thirteen hadn't assured everyone you were still alive Simeon is sure he'd be snapping at Solomon too. Solomon was a good friend, but there's something about how casual he is with everything that makes Simeon angry. Did he not love you too?
"I did, don't worry, Mammon." Solomon pats Mammon's shoulder, "Once everyone gets back, I'll explain what I found."
-`♡´-
Diavolo, Barbatos, and Lucifer arrive shortly after Solomon is done with his search.
The anxiety in the room is palpable; any news at all could set them alight. Especially Satan, who seemed to be trying to remember old breathing exercises to keep back his demon form.
"Solomon, they're here!" Asmodeus announces, and Simeon, Solomon, and Mammon come out from Lucifer's room to join everyone in the living room.
Lucifer doesn't comment on the broken door, he doesn't much care if the house itself was destroyed in the process of finding you.
"Tell us what you've found." Diavolo asks; Lucifer had informed him and Barbatos about what had happened on the way back from the castle. It had been a long while since Diavolo had seen his old friend look so grave.
Solomon comes around the couch and takes a seat by Thirteen. She scoots away.
"Well, there wasn't much left behind to find.... Which is good in its own way." Solomon crosses his legs. "Time magic was used sometime in Lucifer's bedroom last night. It appears MC has been taken to another point in this timeline."
As soon as the words leave his mouth, all eyes go to Barbatos. Even Barbatos looks stunned, eyes widening in shock.
"Time magic?" Satan stands, hands clenching at his sides. "I would like an explanation then, Barbatos. Now."
"I... am afraid I am as in the dark as you all are." The hesitation in Barbatos's voice does little to persuade the brothers. Beel stands and keeps a watchful eye on Satan. If you were here, you wouldn't want anyone to get hurt for your sake.
Diavolo stands in front of Barbatos. "Now, you all know Barbatos isn't the only being capable of time magic."
"Is it possible that someone else used your portals?" Thirteen asks. "You leave those things wide open, don'tcha? Seems like an easy target."
"I would know if anyone other than myself used them, yes. But I did not feel any abnormalities last night."
Belphie turns to Solomon. "Wait, you said time magic, what time period did they get sent to?"
"Ah, well that's a little tricky." Solomon answers with a sheepish smile. "The residual magic was strong, but you would expect more to be left behind if they went to the future. Future magic is highly unstable, anyways. It's more likely they were sent somewhere into the past, probably around the time of the Celestial War based on my analysis."
Belphie shakes his head. "You can't say 'probably', you have to be certain about this."
"Then, yes, I am certain that is where they are." Solomon answers smoothly.
The second the words leave Solomon's mouth, Mammon speaks up:
"Okay, so how do we get them back?!"
-`♡´-
With lots of loud disagreements, and a few almost-fights, they come to terms that it has to be Solomon that goes after you.
No one particularly likes that idea, but he was the only one who wouldn't completely disrupt the timeline. His past self wouldn't be in the Devildom, so he could avoid paradoxes, and he was more than strong enough to protect himself if need be.
That same day, Barbatos prepares the portal for Solomon to go through after you. But not before one last warning from Diavolo:
Diavolo's eyes are stern, hand gripping Solomon's shoulder tight enough to where it would be painful. Solomon takes a step back, but Diavolo's body follows him.
"You bring them back safe." A warning, "And bring them back swiftly. Whatever you must do to get them back... do it."
Solomon, frankly, had had enough warnings from the demon brothers, and from his old friend Thirteen to understand that his life was forfeit if he came back without you.
He supposed he couldn't fault their protectiveness, however. If your safety was left alone in the hands of any other, he's sure he'd do worse to guarantee you came back alive and well.
"Of course," Solomon rolls his shoulder, shrugging off the Prince's hold. "You know I want them back just as much as you do. Perhaps even more."
Diavolo pats his back, his usual genial smile returning to his face, and he laughs. "Oh, I doubt that."
Barbatos gestures to the two, indicating that everything is ready for Solomon to step through. Solomon doesn't feel anything but calm, for what did he have to be anxious about? He was getting to see you again.
Was it selfish of him to be happy that he would be in a time period where the one you would rely on the most would be him?
"Bring them back to us," Is the last thing he hears before he steps through the portal, and into the past.
-`♡´- Lucifer
Lucifer busies himself with his work. If he fills his schedule enough, he doesn't have time to worry about you constantly, doesn't have time for his mind to cycle through the worst of what could happen with you out of his reach.
He volunteers to take on all of your duties that you were newly appointed as R.A.D.'s newest student council officer. Lucifer doesn't want anything to get in the way of you spending time with him again once you get back.
When he isn't working, he takes care of his brothers. The House of Lamentation always becomes a little quieter when you're not around, but the silence this time is more somber.
Lucifer doesn't scold them as much, gives them more leeway when they skip classes or forget to turn in assignments. He knows they're struggling and he doesn't want to add to that burden.
He hardly sleeps unless he passes out from exhaustion. When he does, his dreams are of blame. Why didn't he just wake up when you were taken? You were right there.
-`♡´- Mammon
Mammon had to be held back by Levi and Beel to keep him from going into the portal after Solomon.
It wasn't fair that that guy got to go and he had to stay behind. He was your first man! Mammon wasn't even sure that Solomon didn't play a role in helping you disappear. He never trusted that guy.
But all he could do now was hope that he would bring you back, right? It didn't matter anymore who saved you, just the fact that you were alive and safe and in his arms would be enough for him.
Mammon misses you ardently.
He texts you about his day every day. He knows the messages won't deliver, but he doesn't have anyone else to send them too. Sometimes he'll even call your phone so he can hear your voice in the voicemail. It helps him sleep.
-`♡´- Leviathan
He's just so tired of this. He thought once your trials at R.A.D. were over, you could settle down in the House of Lamentation forever.
If anyone deserved a life full of peace, it was you. You had endured way too much hardship on their account to keep having these things happen to you.
Levi tries to maintain a normalcy for you to return to. He buys games that you had on your radar for you to play with him once you got back.
He likes looking at the pictures you both had taken together. Cosplay pics, photobooth strips, candid polaroids... precious memories that could never be replaced.
And, when he really misses you, he takes one of your school uniforms, hanging up neatly in your closet and takes it to bed with him. It still smells like you, and if he closes his eyes, he can picture you're there with him.
Though, waking up and seeing you weren't there is like losing you all over again.
-`♡´- Satan
Satan worries.
He knew what he was like right after the Celestial War. He knew what monstrous things he did when he couldn't control his anger; before he made a conscious decision to crawl his way out of his emotional stagnation and to be more than he was created to be.
He gets into a habit of hanging out with Thirteen. Satan never really cared much for her attitude, but she's the only one who would know if you were still alive.
She's tolerable, in that when they get together they always end up talking about you. Satan doesn't tell her the best stories about you, no, those were reserved only for himself.
When he is alone, he often drifts towards your room. He knows his brothers often sleep there when you're gone, so he washes your sheets and makes your bed back up when they're not there.
Satan even tidies his own room just enough so that you would have room to sleep in his bed with him when you returned.
-`♡´- Asmodeus
To have both you and Solomon taken away from him in the same day, it seems a bit cruel, doesn't it?
He's thankful for all the consolations from his friends and his fans; the well wishes are nice, but it isn't the same as hearing it from your voice.
Asmo tells anyone who will listen about what happened to you in hopes that they'll spin stories back at him. Even if most were lies conjured to make him feel better, there always are some true stories in the mix. He hears a few rumors of ancient, powerful demons that he hands over to Satan and Belphie to look more into. He was glad he could do something.
Asmodeus starts collecting things that remind him of you. Flowers that never wilt, lamb plushies, silk pajamas — there's a box in his room of gifts to give you once you get back home.
He writes down everything that you've missed since you disappeared, he has so much to catch you up on, after all! And if there's a lot of 'I love you's' and things he misses about you in between topics, he's sure you won't mind hearing them, too.
-`♡´- Beelzebub
Beel feels a little lost without you there.
You were so ingrained in his daily schedule that he doesn't know what to do with a lot of his time. You, Mammon, him, and Belphie would always hang out after school, since the four of you had the same last period.
There was no sun in the Devildom, but he didn't need any to feel warm sitting next to you three. Mammon would bring cards, and you would take turns picking out games to play.
You would usually win; he loved seeing your smile as you asked for praise for winning. Belphie and Mammon would pout, but Beel was always happy to tell you you did a good job. He keeps an ongoing score sheet somewhere in his backpack:
MC - 102, Mammon - 16, Belphie - 59, Beel - 20. He didn't care much for winning as long as everyone was happy.
He makes his way to the gardens and finds your usual spot empty. Beel waits there for a long while, but only Belphie shows up.
Beel thinks that maybe in the past, you were waiting for him in the same spot too. The thought makes him feel a little less lonely.
-`♡´- Belphegor
Belphie misses you, of course, but he really finds this whole situation odd.
Time magic. Diavolo had said that other beings were capable of it, but Belphie had never heard of anyone, besides Barbatos, that had mastered it enough to send someone back that far. Belphie wasn't the most well-connected person, but he thinks he would've heard about them by now.
Satan thinks the same thing, and so the 'Anti-Lucifer League' is postponed, and in its place the 'MC's Detective Agency' forms. Beel sits in on most meetings, and the rest of the brothers join in occasionally.
But with so few leads there was only so much they could do. But still, Belphie is determined not to give up. If you were in his shoes, he knows you would do the same thing.
He would never admit it to anyone, but he wants to hear you say that you're proud of his work. To feel you pet his head and tell him he did good, to kiss him on the cheeks for working so hard.
...And, of course, making whoever did this pay for what they did would be good, too.
-`♡´- Diavolo
The last note you left him is still taped to his desk:
A chibi of you fist-pumping is drawn on the side of the yellow sticky. There's a big speech bubble that reads: "You can do it, Dia! Knock out that paperwork!" He can't help but smile every time he sees it.
It's silly, but when he looks down and reads those words of encouragement he feels your loss even more strongly. He's sure Solomon will be back with you soon, but as the weeks roll on, he starts getting impatient.
He sends all his best men to search for whoever did this to you. Without any solid leads, it was like chasing the wind, but it helped settle his mind, if only a little.
He supposes you did spoil him too much. He forgot what it was like to be so lonely when you were around. And unlike the brothers, he couldn't just curl up in your bed whenever he wanted to be reminded of you.
Would it be so improper to move you into the castle once you got back? At least here, he would know you were safe. Nothing like this would ever happen to you again on his watch.
-`♡´- Barbatos
Barbatos knows that all eyes are on him.
It isn't hard to figure out that the brothers are suspicious of him. Mammon's crows perch outside his bedroom, Satan takes extra trips to the library in the castle, Belphie "gets lost" wandering the halls after dinner... Even Lucifer asks him pointed questions about that night.
He understands that it comes with the territory of his powers, but when has he ever done anything to jeopardize the exchange program? If he wanted to send you away would he not have done it when you first arrived? Would he not have let you die at the hands of Belphegor?
The him of today would never think of such a thing. Barbatos cared too much about your safety to let you wander too far from his sights.
He knows it is an indulgence that only he is afforded, but he can't help but steal looks into your life back in time as you try to find your way back to them.
Perhaps the others would like to hear about how you are doing, but Barbatos thinks these things are best kept to himself. He was never a fan of sharing, anyways.
-`♡´- Simeon
Luke cries and cries and cries when Simeon tells him what happened to you. Simeon holds the boy in his arms tight, rocking him back and forth to soothe his troubled heart.
He had done this many nights in the past, and he's sure he'd do it for many nights in the future.
The last time it had happened it had been when Simeon had told Luke about losing his powers. You had been there, then, and had cried as soon as you saw tears well up in Luke's eyes. Luke was less sad and more angry at Simeon for not telling him sooner. He had held you both in his arms that night, and before long the three of you fell asleep together.
Simeon wishes you were here now to hold him. To tell him it was going to be alright. But he supposed if you were here the both of them wouldn't have anything to cry about.
Michael allows Luke to stay in Purgatory Hall for as long as it would take to get you back. Simeon is thankful for the company; with Raphael and Solomon gone, and the Hall silent, it was easy for Simeon to start blaming himself.
He hears Luke pray every night for your safety, and Simeon slips back into the habit as well.
-`♡´- Thirteen
Thirteen spends a lot more time in her cave when you're not around.
What's the point of going to R.A.D. if you weren't there? It's not like she cared much about anyone else that went there. And to hear the brothers cry about missing you... She couldn't take it.
She cared about you too, but you didn't see her moping around about it!
But even worse was the fact Solomon got to go back in time to save you. Just thinking about you spending all that alone time with that shitty Sorcerer makes her blood boil; he could live a thousand lifetimes and never once deserve you.
She goes and checks your candle every morning to see if the flame is going strong. Thirteen breathes easy when she sees the bright orange flame light up the darkness.
Reapers weren't supposed to interfere directly with mortal's lifespans, but she supposed it wouldn't hurt if she poured some of Solomon's melted wax onto your candle. It's not like he would need it anyways.
Besides, this was her making up for lost time. Every day you were away shouldn't count! You didn't choose to go back in time, after all!
⚡️Solomon and mc please if you are still doing these.
"What good is this "great power" of mine? Absolutely everything slips through my fingers." - Solomon/MC
Tumblr media
This wasn’t supposed to happen.
You were supposed to be safe here in the human realm. Safe with him.
“Solomon,” your voice is weak as you call out his name, lying in the middle of the room. Blood is seeping through the bandages tightly wrapped around your wounds. Your eyes flicker as you seem to fade in and out of consciousness.
Shit. That potion didn’t work either.
“Don’t speak. Don’t move. I’ll get you fixed up.” He does his best to keep his voice calm, swallowing the panic that threatens to take over. No, he needs to focus. He needs to find the right ingredients, he needs to measure precisely, he needs to find the damn spell or potion or whatever it is that will undo the damage that’s laid claim to your body.
Books go flying off the shelves, circling in a dizzying array around the sorcerer as pages flip rapidly. He had taken you to one of his secret abodes spread throughout the human realm, all stocked with various magical items and artifacts along with numerous grimoires and journals he had collected over centuries. A treasure trove for any occult enthusiast – but currently, an archive of desperation.
“There has to be something here. It’s a complex curse, but it still seems to be human-made, though with some demonic assistance, so,” he speaks his thoughts aloud, talking more to himself than to you, “I just need to find what can neutralize it.”
Surely he can find it. Solomon has never met a curse that he couldn’t eventually break, faced a foe he couldn’t manipulate, discovered a spell he couldn’t replicate. The air fills with the noise of a sorcerer gone mad – the clinks and clanks of vials and bottles, the continuous flutter of pages turning, the hiss and bubbling of items being thrown together, the scrape of metal against glass, of chalk against wood and the crackle of fire.
“This one should work.”
It didn’t.
“Okay, maybe this one.”
Another failure.
“This one has to be it.”
No.
“Please.”
Solomon slumps beside you after his latest attempt, his face in his hands and his deep breath turns into an exasperated yet muffled yell. His hands travel up his head, fingers tightly gripping at his hair as a hiss leaves his lips.
Solomon the Wise. Solomon the Witty Sorcerer. These names and more had plagued him for so long, were ones he at times embraced and gloated over. He had been the most powerful human in existence, continuing to obtain more and more power so that he could show the angels and demons that they couldn’t control him, control humans. It wasn’t without sacrifices, without pain and hardship. He still lost so much.
And now, he was afraid of losing you.
There was no other choice. He was going to have to call upon the demons for help.
“What good is this great power of mine?” His voice nearly breaks, tears stinging at the corner of his eyes. “Absolutely everything slips through my fingers.”
“Not everything, old man.”
Solomon jolts up, eyes wide as he looks to you after hearing your shaky voice.
You let out a low groan, shifting in place before slightly propping yourself up on your elbows. “Come on, you didn’t think I would go down that easily, did you?” You wince. “Have some faith in your apprentice. I’m basically as strong as you.”
Your name leaves him in a near-sob as he scrambles up and throws his arms around you. “Oh thank the stars, you’re okay.”
“Ow,” you respond, but sink into his embrace. “I’m not touching a strange statue again for a good while after this.”
“I’m sorry,” Solomon releases you, checking over your wounds to ensure that you are now healing. “I should have known, I should have stopped you, I should have –”
“Solomon.” You stop him, brushing some of his wispy locks from his face. “It was an accident. You can’t always be there watching over me. And if it wasn’t for you, I would be in a lot worse shape.” Placing a hand on his cheek, you gaze affectionately into his eyes. “Thank you.”
He swallowed his protests. It was true that you were on a path to quickly overtake him as the most powerful human sorcerer the world had ever known. He was going to have to get used to you getting into dangerous situations, used to you wielding such power and the responsibility that came with it. He was no longer alone in carrying that burden.
With a sigh, Solomon rests his forehead against yours. “Looks like I’m going to have to make a lot more protection charms.”
Obey Me and Lonely MC
How I imagine the very few moments before MC was summoned to the Devildom
Gender neutral reader (please correct me If I'm wrong)
Masterlist
CW: angst, panicking and body pain, nothing explicit, college student MC sharing apartment, shitty college experience, lonely MC but the sad type of lonely, they're kinda depressed. Diavolo, Barbatos and Lucifer welcome MC, but they're barely there
Please enjoy!
.
You only had time to close the door before the floor under your feet started sinking like quicksand, bending in waves and violently shaking your body.
Everything beyond the entrance seemed completely normal: the wood was as hard as it could be and the tiles shone as they always did, yellow and cheap thanks to the faded lights in the apartment.
Still, nothing there was brighter than whatever the fuck was illuminating your body from underneath. Where exactly you weren't sure, but it came from below.
It was weird.
It was too much.
You threw your backpack away from you, your computer possibly breaking with the fall under the weight of multiple books, before rummaging through all your pockets in search of your phone.
There had to be someone you could call. Someone. Anyone.
The blood pumped in you ears and your fingers struggled to unlock the screen while you screamed your roommates' names with a trembling voice.
You were alone.
How in fucking hell could you be alone?
Maybe you were dreaming or hallucinating! Stress could do that to you, right? Exams had been hectic those days and your sleeping habits had been disastrous for weeks, often leaving you empty at best and anhedonic at worst. That had to be it! Your brain was malfunctioning due to sleep depravation and high cortisol levels, also causing a decrease in balance and a permanent state of alert.
You were unnecessaryly panicking because your body was tired. It was as simple as that.
You. Were. Fine.
So you let your knees give up, wincing a little when they hit the floor. Your coat, always your favourite, was warm as a blanket and taking it off felt like a herculean task.
Your body followed its own weight, leaning forward until your hands touched the wood and kneaded like it was some kind of weird bread dough before you fully laid down. You felt as if it was absorbing your energy, draining it completely and making you lose your vision.
You thought you saw red surrounding your siluette in a circle, but your mind was too far gone by then, too tired to process anything that catched your brain's attention.
It could've been seconds or hours until you opened your eyes again. The possibility of being days was also there, but how could you be sure?
Flesh hard under your skin and blood slow through your veins, there was nothing you could feel but pain and the faint smell of sulfur.
Was there a leakage in the building?
And since when did your apartment have such high ceilings? Made of stone with stained glass... You'd never seen them, haven't you? You'd remember if you did.
Someone was talking to you. Not any of your roommates, of that you were sure. The voice was too deep.
You sat like a spring, dizzy and too aware of your surroundings, adrenaline kicking in. It did smell like sulfur, but it was going away, letting your nose catch instead what was probably a really expensive cologne.
There were men around you, you realized, all staring at your perplexed expression with amusement, as if you were a new addition to the zoo. And they were tall. Like... tall tall.
One of them, dressed in red, spoke to you again, but your ears were clogged. You weren't intentionally ignoring him, you just couldn't hear a single shit. You could barely hear your own heartbeat.
Were you still alive?
"Hey... Ah!"
Your voice sounded like a whisper for only one second, but it was enough to pop your ears and make you scream and grab the sides of your head in anguish. Someone, not the one in red, spoke again in a tongue you didn't recognize and made the pain disappear like mist.
"... where you are?"
"Human"
"Human! Answer the prince!"
What fucking prince?
"What?" you finally asked in a creaky voice.
"Do you know where you are?"
The redhead spoke one final time. He seemed to be the nicest one, but you couldn't fully trust the tallest dude you'd ever seen who also had yellow eyes.
Not light brown. Yellow. Bright yellow.
"I don't know, man... Hell?"
You were being sarcastic, but the smile in his face told you something completely unexpected.
"You see, Lucifer? Barbatos? They seem to be aware of their surroundings!"
"I'm not sure that's the case, my Lord"
Hell.
You were in hell? Of course you were.
It did make sense once you thought about it. Come on! Floor sinking under your feet? And your dumbass believed it was due to stress! How could it be stress, dummy? Hell was the obvious answer!
Although conscious, you became too foggy to coherently answer any of their following questions. It sounded like they already knew what they wanted to hear and they were just making sure you also knew it.
Name, age, gender, nationality... Not even your rommates knew half of that, so how did they?
Maybe you were schizophrenic. How far could schizophrenia go?
"So, do you agree?"
The redhead with yellow eyes... A demon? Lord Diavolo. The Prince of Hell.
He looked at you with childish eagerness. Lucifer and Barbatos, if those were their actual names, didn't seem as happy.
Diavolo wasn't asking for your permission. If he actually wanted your permission, he would've sent you a letter or even waited for you in your own apartment like a creep. But you were already there. Asking that was just courtesy. Politeness.
You stayed in silence for a couple of minutes, maintaining direct eye contact with him.
You remembered your backpack, computer surely broken and library books all wrinkled and smelly, reeking of mold. The two roommates that never came to your rescue and your inability to think of someone that would come in a second just because you needed help.
You'd be an unsolved crime. A YouTube clickbait.
That seemed better than letting college steal your money and will to live before throwing you to the wolves.
"Sure, man, why not?"
Apology, With Tears
Lucifer x Gender Neutral Reader
Genre: Fluff, Angst/Comfort
Summary: Lucifer comforts you during a hard time, and reminds you that your feelings are always welcome with him
Content/Warnings: Comfort, guilt, angst with happy ending, implied venting (the source of anguish itself isn’t specified, please project whatever issue you may be having onto this fic /srs)
Like my writing? I take requests! NSFW or SFW for any fandoms in my bio!
Also, please reblog! it’s free, takes two seconds, and really helps me out
Feedback is encouraged and appreciated:)
Not fully proofread! Let me know if you see any errors!
“I-I’m sorry….”
Your voice was so small. Shockingly, terrifyingly so. For a moment Lucifer froze, unsure if he had really heard it. The words were as fragile as a single snowflake landing on the bare concrete, ready to break and melt into oblivion at any moment. They were as quiet as the coo of a dove in a raging thunderstorm, and yet they shook Lucifer to his very core.
“Excuse me?”
“I’m sorry, Lucifer…”
There was a small part of him that thought maybe the repetition would bring clarity, but no such luck. Gently he hooked two fingers under your chin, tilting your head up towards him in a slow manner so that you’d have ample opportunity to resist him if you’d like.
You did not. You allowed him to meet your eyes with his.
That was the softest you’ve ever seen his gaze.
The sharp brows that were usually taut with annoyance were furrowed just slightly in such a way that you could tell Lucifer didn’t even know he was doing it. He would never purposely let concern show so obviously, but it seems he was preoccupied with other, more pressing concerns at the moment.
Something sorrowful in the swirling red of his eyes stabbed into your heart with a pang of guilt. To know you had caused Lucifer—the chronically overworked head of house—such worry brought a heaving sob from you.
The last of your resilience disappeared like a flame in the wind. The tears flowed freely, and there was no stopping them. They ran fast down your cheeks and fell into your shaking palms and stained your shirt. They were shamefully, burning hot, like liquid fire on your face, but once they fell to your lap you could not feel them. You brought up an arm to cover your eyes, the tears soaking into your sleeve and soon after your skin.
“I’m…I’m sorry, I—“
“Please, please stop saying that, my love….”
The words are surprising, but even in your shock you can’t bring yourself to look up at Lucifer.
“Why…” He begins, at a loss for words for the first time since he can remember.
“…Why do you keep apologizing?”
You thought you’d have an immediate answer, and yet when you open your mouth no words come. That should be an easy question. You knew why.
Didn’t you?
You have to search a bit more before you even think of speaking.
“I just…I feel bad for…b-being like this—“
“Being like what?!” Lucifer interrupts, and now his confusion and desperation is showing through. He’s not raising his voice and yet his words hold a sense of urgency akin to that of a scream for help. He isn’t angry, but he is so overwhelmingly worried.
“I…I-I shouldn’t…” You have to fish around in the word pool a bit more before pulling out the right ones. “I shouldn’t be…making you deal with this, i-it’s my problem, I can handle it, I…”
The pause is heavy. Unbearably, crushingly heavy.
“I shouldn’t be doing this to you…”
It is in this moment that Lucifer’s black heart shatters into countless pieces. The larger fragments linger in their place, the smaller splinters go flying off in all directions. It is likely that he will never recover all of them. There is no way to when something like this happens. He knows that you have felt the same. You have lost many pieces of your heart along the way here.
Fortunately, Lucifer has some to spare.
“You aren’t doing anything to me, my love…” He assures you, taking your hands in his. His grip is loose, encouraging you to follow his movements instead of forcing you.
“You talk about yourself as if you are some terrible, laborious thing that must be dealt with against all will. I’m not here because I am forced to or because I feel I must, or else. If I thought this wasn’t a serious matter I would have walked out of this room long ago.”
He’s right. You know he’s right. Living with six unruly little brothers means Lucifer has a very high tolerance for emotional turmoil. You’ve seen him shoo his bickering brothers away or send an injured Mammon off with no more than a ‘good luck’ and a wave of his hand. He knew his brothers could deal with themselves.
But you? You were not them, but he still knew exactly what you needed.
“You are not some heavy burden forced on my shoulders, I choose to be here. You have nothing to apologize for because I am asking you to seek me out for help.”
A gloved thumb wipes a tear from your cheek, and for the first time you meet Lucifer’s gaze on your own. His expression is lighter somehow,  brows not pressed quite so tightly together.
“Hardships cannot be endured alone, that is a fact. They are meant to be shared. So please, no more ‘sorry.’ Apologies are for when you do something wrong…like how a certain twin keeps eating the drywall in the common room…”
You can’t help but laugh at that. It’s weak, hardly intelligible through your labored breathing, but Lucifer hears it.
The smile that crosses his lips is merely a ghost, gone in a moment.
But you see it.
It comforts you in such a way that it destroys every defensive wall you had been fighting so hard to keep up. Suddenly you’re reaching for him, gripping onto his uniform shirt with aching fingers before pulling him to you. A loud sob echoes through you as you hide your face against his chest, hot tears leaving trails down his button up.
If you were anyone else in any other scenario, Lucifer would probably be a bit appalled at how you were ruining his freshly ironed uniform.
And yet, the thought never even crossed his mind.
A tender hand strokes the back of your head, and the other ushers you up into a more comfortable sitting position in his lap.
He doesn’t shush you, or tell you it’s okay, because it isn’t. But it doesn’t have to be. He knows you will calm yourself in your own time.
Until then, he is more than content to stay right here.
a/n: goddamn this account's dead asf but an imagine would revive this place chdhfh
cw: fluff w/ a bit of angst, au not tied in the og! storyline, ooc characters, mc didn't attended the exchange program
Tumblr media
Imagine an AU where the reader doesn't go to RAD (not even in the Devildom) but instead, they met one of the brothers while that specific bother went on an errand in the human world. To set the scene, you accidentally dropped something that valuable and then that brother finally catches up to you, returning the said item to you. At first, each of the brothers weren't too fond of you since 1.) You are a powerless human, duh and 2.) You are a bit of a clutz and almost lost that one item that's valuable to you but as time went by, the more you met him, had some kind of small talk to him and by God's love, the shared interest you two shared (for ex: Lucifer's being old records/music, Satan's being cats, etc.), you two became friends and met each other often at the same park you dropped that item months ago.
Fast forward to 2 years and the two of you fell for each other, especially that brother who often came to the human world just to visit you. You and that brother were now dating and he's now open about his life, about his siblings and his fake occupation. Out of all the things he told you in his life, he will always kept that one secret he prays you'll never find out.
Is the fact that he's not a human but a powerful demon that's residing in the Devildom, not to mention as one of the avatars of sins. He didn't want to scare you and this man loves you so much to the point that he is willing to keep such secret in order to protect you.
And the fact that his other siblings are beginning to be suspicious about their brother visiting the human world so often that they began to follow him and eventually meeting you for the first time. Despite you being a human, they know that deep within their hearts that you are a kindhearted person that makes their brother very happy and accepted you when the two of you are now proposed.
Now, 5 years has passed and the two of you are now very happy and married.
Until that specific day wherein your husband's acting very strange lately to the point that you became worried about his health, even offering him to go to the hospital but he refused. Hell, even those late nights he came back as a red light shines through the window of your shared bedroom. You became paranoid, thinking that he might be seeing someone else and leaving you or something or someone is watching you and your husband in your quaint and quiet life in the suburbs.
But it looks like it was different.
Because the moment you came home from your errands in the supermarket, you screamed in horror at the appearance of your husband–horns on his head and wings/tail appeared on his body. Your husband forgot to change back by the time he got home and began to chase after you in an attempt to comfort you, saying that he won't hurt you. You lock yourself in the bathroom and began sobbing hysterically, yelling at the demon that he's an impersonation of your beloved husband, a monster and a human's worse nightmare.
He didn't force his way into the locked bathroom. Instead, he sat down by the door and reassures you that he's the same person you truly loved for all these years, the same man that gave you that item that almost got lost and the same man you befriended and get to know. He knows that you still don't trust him because all the secrets he kept from you, hell even his own siblings were demons and he didn't want his worse fear to happen right in front of him–leaving you for another person because this man loves you very very much.
After an hour of the ordeal, you emerged from the door and sees him on the floor, still sitting as to prevent you from being scared again. He, still on his demon form, opens his arms and hugs you very tightly as he apologizes profusely for keeping such secret Even though the two of you are in good terms, you are still wary of your husband, even if he's on his human form but it's okay. As long as you warm up to him being a demon and doesn't harm you, he is finally contented with you on his arms.
Not until you begin to constantly bug him about seeing his wings/tail excitedly but who are you to blame about admiring the appearance of your husband <33
the burdens of royalty
Genre/Tropes: Established relationship, MC and Diavolo are married.
Summary: the weight of both the devildom and the human world are on your shoulders. if it wasn't for diavolo, you would have given up a long time ago.
Author's Comments: diavolo has a very tough job. every time he said he adores mc or that one time he confessed his love to them i panicked because thats so much. its heavier than the brother's "i love you" because hes ROYALTY and its a lot of take in.
i also find myself thinking about what his affection means for mc in the long run. i mean, surely diavolo has suitors. there are obviously higher up demons like the brothers (and maddi, that one witch that pursued diavolo so aggressively it was...icky.) for diavolo to actually pursue mc, i can't imagine what would happen when those same demons figured that out. if they were to make their relationship official or even get married, mc would probably need a bodyguard 24/7 because demons are OBVIOUSLY not chill with humans (like every single brother threatening mc and especially belphegor, although his circumstances were different because they involved lilith.)
anyways i'll be quiet, i hope you enjoy C:
~~~~~
It wasn’t easy being you.
Your now husband would always tell you that being him wasn’t easy, but now that you share the burden of his position, does that not also apply to you?
It came as quite a shock to the entire Devildom the day your engagement was announced—to think, the Prince of the Devildom, marrying a human! The demon aristocracy would have had your head if they weren’t so terrified of Barbatos. You were called many things (a manipulator and a cheat being among your favorites. Really, the higher ups in demon society would know too much about manipulating their way up the social ladder.) It was like they could comprehend that you just wanted to be with the man you loved, and that race and position and titles meant absolutely nothing to do with it.
If nothing else, you suppose being human was the easiest thing they could target. It shielded Diavolo from most of the backlash, at any rate. The last thing you ever wanted was for the public to lose their trust in him (and never give his ideals for the three realms a chance.) The fact that he only wanted the best for them seemed to fly right over their heads, as if Diavolo was just as untrustworthy as you, the foreign soul from another realm.
You, now their ruler, too.
But that’s exactly why you had to clench your teeth and bear it, bear the shimmering dresses and horned guests and Barbatos breathing down your neck so nobody would even think of attacking you. Snide remarks about your clothing of choice were met with “my husband picked it out, actually,” comments about how delicious your flesh smelled were ignored but met with a stern glare from your bodyguard, greetings that sounded so fake and that were obviously meant to butter you up were laughed at just as falsely.
Is this what it meant to be a royal?
“I apologize, My Liege. This ball runs til midnight. I assure you that you may retire to your chambers once this is over.” Barbatos whispers, strategically whisking you away from a group of demonesses muttering to each other and staring at you.
“Thank you.” you try to smile, but it probably seems like more of a wince than anything, “My feet are killing me. And the guests are just as bad.”
He smiles back sympathetically, and although he isn’t touching you at all, you can still feel the warmth emanating from him. Though the Avatars of Sin fear him, Barbatos has always been nothing but kind to you. You wonder if it has something to do with Diavolo, or if he really is that cruel. You suppose it doesn’t matter, whether you’re naive or not, because the fact of the matter is that you have the man Barbatos is loyal to encased in an eternal matrimonial vow. There is no way Barbatos would attempt to harm you.
“I will run you and My Lord a bath once this event is over.” he promises, and you can only sigh with relief when you notice he’s lead you outside, were the amount of people is nowhere near what it is inside, “Do you have a preference for which aromatherapy scent I use?”
“Use whichever one Diavolo chooses.” you reply, knowing he’ll be just as tired.
Barbatos laughs, a sound so full of mirth it makes you happy, too.
“I am sorry if that was out of line, My Liege. I was just amused by the coincidence. My Lord said to select whichever scent you would like.” Barbatos chuckles.
You find yourself laughing too, despite how nasty the demons around you treat you every time you hold one of these balls. It’s so sweet and considerate and just so Diavolo. You wish you could hug him right now and thank him for always trying to be a better man for you. He doesn’t seem like he will ever realize that he’s enough already, which simultaneously warms and breaks your heart.
He really thinks too highly of you. You’re not that special.
Barbatos leads you to a bench and gestures for you to sit. You do so without complaint, and before you can say anything he’s on his knees and massaging your calves. You feel yourself heating up in the face (because you still feel like he shouldn’t be doing these things for you), but you’ve learned a while ago that he takes pleasure in serving people. So you let him do his thing.
Part of your flustered state is also embarrassment, and despite your best efforts you cannot stop your eyes from darting around the gardens to check if anyone is paying attention to you. Thankfully, they all seem enraptured by an illusionist hired for the event who’s stationed in front of the grandiose fountain. He keeps making wispy demonic figures swallow running humanoid figures whole.
You’re used to this.
Another servant comes by, one by the name of Marie Anne. You know her well. Diavolo has always been very kind to her, offering her a life away from the downright cruel aristocratic family she had before. You don’t know the details, and you don’t ask. It’s not your place.
The demoness curtsies and smiles, offering you a bubbling glass of Demonus. It can’t get you drunk, but it can be refreshing. You take it and thank her. Her cheeks turn pink and she curtsies again before scurrying towards the crowd of demons watching the illusionist.
It’s funny how some demons could be so kind and others so nasty. There were many similarities that they have with humans, whether they wanted to admit it or not.
You tell Barbatos that he can stop now, and he halts his motions and stands up immediately. You’re still not used to being pampered in such a way, so you thank him. He only smiles and tells you it’s not necessary.
“I believe this is why the servants are taking a quick liking to you.” he muses, “I hardly think they would be this receptive if My Lord had married a witch or a member of the aristocracy.”
“You really think so?” you say, feeling your cheeks burn again from the praise, “I…I’m not doing anything special.”
“A simple thank you goes a long way, My Liege.” he hums, a content smile on his face as he stands beside you.
You suppose he’s right. After all, you’ve only heard (and seen, you think bitterly) terrible things about the aristocracy. They’re rude and impatient and only ever think about themselves when it comes to policies that affect the entire Devildom. If they didn’t fear Diavolo so much they surely would have attempted to overthrow him by now.
Too bad, you think smugly, staring at the insolent illusionist again as he makes a smokey human child scream at a demonic creature emerging from an equally smokey closet, He would destroy all of you if you even tried.
You feel immature for the thought only seconds later. You’re a ruler. You need to get your act together—you can’t be just as bad as them.
“My Liege, it’s almost time for the first official dance of the night.” Barbatos bows to you, swooping his hand gracefully towards the ballroom, “Would you like to reconvene with My Lord?”
“Please. I thought I would never get to see him tonight.” you groan, attempting to walk off the slight cramp in your calf as you follow Barbatos back into the fray.
The second your shoes hit the shiny flooring and make that click clack sound, there are shimmering eyes drawn to your form. They snap away as soon as they look, though, and whether it’s disgust or fear of Barbatos you don’t know. It doesn’t matter though, because finally you’ll get to see your beloved after he’s been mingling with the aristocracy all night. It isn’t hard to find him either, because amidst all the other clumps of beautiful demons you can clearly see an even bigger clump closer to the center.
You don’t even have to mumble awkward ”excuse me’s” as they all step aside for you (mostly for Barbatos though, as he’s leading the way and they’ve already made it plenty clear that they do not respect you) and before you know it, you’re standing in front of your beaming husband and a rather disgruntled Lucifer. He looks about as comfortable as you do in your formal wear, though he doesn’t show it. It’s too bad you know him well enough to see past his facade and pick up on all his little mannerisms he would never allow anyone else to see.
You spare him the teasing right now.
You try not to feel self conscious as you take your place by Diavolo’s side, a soft giggle leaving the lips of the demon you kiss goodnight every evening.
“Hello, my dear.” he whispers in your ear, stooping down to kiss your hand, “I’m pleased to see that you’re well. Have you been enjoying the festivities?”
Lie. Lie until you’re alone with him and can finally be yourself again.
“Yes, it's been lovely.” you lie through your teeth, a single drop of sweat sliding down the back of your neck as hundreds of pairs of eyes bore into you, “Barbatos has been most helpful. I’m incredibly thankful for him.”
Diavolo lights up like a little puppy dog at the mention of his butler’s name, and lets another loud laugh escape him. Despite his cheerful demeanor, you can still feel the hateful glares being directed your way. In the periphery of your vision, you can see Lucifer glaring right back at the demons behind you, and that gesture alone warms your heart. You are safe with these demons. Things will get better.
Even if better is in a few hours, when you and Diavolo will be in bed and he’ll spoon you and hold you tightly and whisper words of love and affection into your ear until you fall asleep. You discovered his habit for sleepy rambling relatively quickly after the wedding, and eventually you couldn’t sleep without it. If it wasn’t for his love, you surely never would have gotten this far with interrealm relations. If it had been anyone else, you would’ve given up.
Diavolo was the definition of shoot for the stars. He truly was an amazing demon.
“My dear.” he coos, eyes crinkling at the edges as he smiles that cheesy grin you know all too well and love far too much, “May I have this dance?”
He stretches a hand out for you to take, a symbol of how you two are bridging two realms together. Some of the people here tonight may think that’s the reason you two are doing this, that it's a diplomatic display to marry each other, but they’d be wrong. You know Diavolo isn’t the type to do something like that.
It’s like the demons in this palace tonight can’t understand that you two just love each other, and that's that.
And so you take his hand.
He sighs, a blissful sound that you know only you can produce from him, and sweeps you across the dance floor. His hand on your lower back is firm and unyielding, but it’s not possessive. Even when you were still living with the demon brothers, he never once overstepped any bounds.
Part of you wished he did.
It wasn’t just him that had wanted you two to spend time together.
You suppose that doesn’t matter anymore, not when his grip is so sure, not when his heartbeat is pounding in your ears as you rest your head against him, not when the demons and demonesses are moving out of your way. You know the respect is short lived and that they are only doing this for Diavolo, but that doesn’t stop you from enjoying it for now. Moments where a demon steps aside for a human are few and far between, but with you and Diavolo working together, you hope it will become more common.
“I love you.” you whisper to him, the words quiet enough so that only you two can hear them. You aren’t ready to declare such a vulnerable thing on your own, not when these demons have the strength to rip you apart.
And so Diavolo helps you, just as he always does.
“I love you more than anything.” he declares, his voice as loud as a blaring trumpet, a sharp contrast to your softness. You feel your face begin to burn, especially when you hear a murmur ripple through the crowd, but you cannot stop the wobbly smile on your face.
“Disgusting.”
“A human? Really? How will they rule us?”
“It would have been better if we stayed with our own kind.”
“What is Lord Diavolo doing?”
The ballroom begins to buzz and you feel yourself growing less and less sure of yourself. There are tears pricking your eyes, but you will them away. You cannot let them win.
And then, you see Diavolo’s form ripple. Wings sprout from his back and horns protrude from his head and there’s an uncharacteristically stern glare on his face as he fixes his malice at who you can only assume are the perpetrators.
You feel safe.
Maybe it’s a farce.
Maybe it’s make believe.
Maybe it’s temporary.
But Diavolo’s dream is possible, and you believe in him.
You just need to endure the burdens of royalty for him—the burdens he’s been bearing by himself for far too long.

☞ Part 1 ☞ Part 3
———————————————————————
Mammon felt lonely.
He felt hurt and betrayed by his brothers. They didn't stand up for him when others mocked him. Heck, they joined in! And the reason why all of this was happening to him was his little brother.
Mammon couldn't understand why he was treated so poorly. His actions are a consequence of his sin, which he can't really control.
His brothers were worse than him at controlling their sins, so why was he the scum?
Why only him?
Was it because he loved his brothers too much that he allowed them to treat him like that? Or is he just a meek coward who can't stand up for himself?
Mammon knows.
He was not weak. He would've never let anyone treat him like that, ever. But after centuries of constant abuse and mistreatment from his brothers, Mammon had slowly started to believe their words.
His self-esteem, pride, confidence, everything had been crushed. And now those insults had become whispers in his head. Mammon believed them. He took every insult to his heart, and he remembered them.
The slander had branded itself on his mind, and Mammon was no longer in control. His thoughts and emotions had gone haywire, making Mammon a prey of the vicious voices inside his head.
Even when he was alone, the insults never stopped.
Mammon was walking on the edge of his sanity.

It was 7 in the morning, and everyone was seated at the dining table for breakfast.
"Mammon, I was informed that you've been missing most of your classes." Lucifer looked pointedly at Mammon.
It had been three days since that video of Mammon went viral, and he had been hiding and avoiding everyone to save himself from all the bullying, and humiliation.
Satan sighed hearing Lucifer's question, shaking his head in disappointment, "Mammon, you never learn your lesson do you?"
Mammon kept quiet, not bothering to answer Lucifer or Satan. He didn't want to speak to them, especially Lucifer. They were all hypocrites, Mammon had begun understanding that better now.
"Aww, poor Mammon," Asmo snickered. "He's even gone deaf now."
"Shut up, Asmo! Nobody was even talking to ya."
Mammon mumbled irritatedly, not having enough courage to say it out loud. He was the most pissed at Asmo, after all, he was the cause of all this. Mammon had always been aware that Asmo never really liked him, but this time he had crossed the line.
Mammon wasn't sure if he'll ever be able to forgive him.
Unfortunately for Mammon, Asmo had heard him and he was going to turn this into a brawl.
"What? Are you seriously mad at me?" Asmo asked, looking surprised. "It was just a harmless prank, Mammon."
Mammon's head snapped towards Asmo, disbelief etched onto his face.
JUST a harmless prank?
"Mammon you should stop overreacting. You're behaving like that annoying side antagonist from the anime called - 'Money Is Everything In This World, But Luckily I'm An Eldorado," Levi laughed.
"This is just a phase, Mammon. You should stop acting so stupid and get over it." Belphie scoffed, resting his head on the table.
Beel glanced uneasily at Mammon. "Guys I think we’ve said enough." He noticed how Mammon hadn't touched his food yet, and he was starting to get a little worried.
Mammon hadn't eaten properly these past few days, and that didn't go unnoticed by Beel.
"You didn't answer me, Mammon. Why have you been missing your classes?" Lucifer fumed. “Haven't you humiliated yourself enough? Your grades are pathetic, and they keep getting worse each time. You'll ruin Lord Diavolo's reputation blah blah blah blah......"
Mammon stopped listening, and Lucifer's lecture faded into the background. Head hanging down, tears brimming his eyes, Mammon stared wide-eyed at his lap.
He couldn't believe it. He didn't want to believe it.
How could his brother belittle his feelings and problems so casually? Did they really not love him or care anymore?
He has been getting nightmares, there were hateful voices in his head, nobody wanted to talk to him anymore, he has no money left, and he was all alone.
SO lonely, that he was thinking about ending his own life.
He found it difficult to breathe in public, always feeling disgusting stares directed at him. It made him shiver, and he knew he was developing a fear of people and crowds.
Mammon was barely hanging on a thread, and this was JUST A PHASE to his brothers?
"You're overreacting."
"Stupid."
"Get over it."
"Annoying."
"You'll ruin our reputation."
The voices in his head kept getting louder, Mammon felt his head spin. He felt like four walls were closing on him, and it was becoming tougher to breathe.
"Stop it," Mammon hiccuped, clutching his head. He wanted to leave.
Mammon was going to leave.
Swallowing the lump in his throat, wiping his watery eyes hastily, Mammon got up suddenly, causing his chair to tumble.
Lucifer who had still been talking stopped to glare at Mammon for interrupting. Even Belphie who had fallen asleep by now, opened his left eye to look at Mammon.
"Y'all are right," Mammon breathed. "I'm a fucking nuisance and I don't wanna annoy anybody with my pathetic presence anymore. I won't eat with y'all anymore and just stay in my room. So PLEASE, please I’m beggin’ y’all, just leave me alone.”
With that Mammon stormed out of the dining room, leaving his wide-eyed brothers speechless.
"Come back, Mammon. Don't you dare leave when I'm talking! You are not allowed to go, Mammon. Sit down!" Lucifer yelled after mammon, his eyes burning in fury.
For once Mammon didn't feel scared or compelled to obey Lucifer.
It was the last straw.

"Ah, Mammon! Come in, come in. I've been waiting for you." Diavolo smiled warmly at him.
Mammon hesitated before allowing himself to follow the butler inside Diavolo's office in RAD. Barbatos guided him to the guest couch, though Mammon chose to go to the Prince's desk, and dropped on his knees in front of him.
"Please, Lord Diavolo, I'm beggin' ya. Please allow me to access the human world." Mammon pleaded, folding his hands together.
Mammon had made up his mind before coming here. He would do anything, ANYTHING, to get Diavolo to agree to let him go to the human world. Mammon was ready to become a servant for him or pledge his loyalty to Diavolo. He was willing to go as far as selling his soul.
He just wanted to end everything, and it had to be done in the human world.
"Mammon!" Diavolo jumped in surprise, rushing towards him. "Please get up," Diavolo urged, grabbing Mammon's shoulders, and helping him get up.
Barbatos who was surprised too hurried to aid his lord. If anyone would’ve stared closely, they would’ve seen the sadness in the stoic butler's eyes, as he stared at Mammon’s back.
"I grant you the permission to enter the human world, but first you need to tell me why you want to go, and for how long," Diavolo questioned.
Diavolo’s words were both a relief and a source of panic Mammon.
"Ahahaha ya see," Mammon laughed nervously. "I just wanted to try modeling in the human world too. I need a lil' bit of extra money to repay some of my debts y'know."
That wasn't the entire truth but that wasn’t a lie either. Mammon had decided to pay back all the money he owed to everybody, before he took his final breath.
He lived like a scumbag, but he didn't want to die a scumbag.
"Is that all?"
Diavolo looked skeptical after hearing Mammon's answer, and so did Barbatos.
"So I am assuming today is not the only day you want to go," Barbatos asked.
"Yup," Mammon confirmed.
"What about RAD?"
"I'll manage. I promise."
"Is there any other reason why you are going?"'
"Huh? What are ya talkin' bout," Mammon pretended to be confused.
"Is modeling the only reason for your trip to the human world?"
"Ahahahaha, of course, I'm only goin' for modeling. What else will I do in the borin' human world among stupid ol' humans," Mammon lied, forcing a fake laugh.
Diavolo narrowed his eyes before a large smile enveloped his features. "Alright, Mammon. I'll have Barbatos open a portal, in the meantime why don't have some tea with us. Also, you can stop by whenever you want to visit the human world, Barbatos will help." Diavolo assured.
"Thank you, Lord Diavolo." Mammon beamed.
Picking up his bag which was still on the floor, Mammon made his way outside, not leaving before flashing a genuine smile at the duo.
Diavolo's expression hardened as soon the door closed behind Mammon. "It seems that matters are worse than we thought."
"Yes, it seems so," the butler agreed. "I doubt he approached Lucifer for permission."
"Indeed. Barbatos?."
"Yes, my lord."
"I want you to check the future," Diavolo commanded. "I'm worried about Mammon. He was lying when he said he's going to the human world only for modeling."

Mammon took a deep breath, as he stood on the railing of the bridge.
He had just gotten back from paying his last debtor after getting done with his various jobs. It had been two weeks since Mammon started working part-time in the human world.
He had earned enough to repay every debt he owed. Since Mammon was so handsome, he never had any trouble getting jobs in the human world.
He would return to devildom when he would be done with his jobs in the human world and then go back to HOL. For those two weeks, he attended all classes daily and even ate with his brothers a few times (only because beel insisted).
Mammon pretended to be fine. And boy was he an expert at pretending
He acted goofy and happy like he used, even accepted punishments from his Lucifer, spoke normally with all his brothers, and ignored every insult thrown at him.
Deep down, Mammon was always conscious of the fact that his time was nearing, aware that he didn’t have very long to live.
And somehow that had given Mammon the strength to endure everything.
Now those hellish and agonizingly long two weeks were finally over, and here Mammon was, standing on the bridge located in the town where Lilith had died as a human.
The reason why Mammon chose the human world as his last destination, was because he wished to depart from the same place his baby sister took her last breath.
His last dying wish was to meet Lilith before his soul was sent to the corner of hell where no demon would ever want to go. But that was the price he was gonna pay for killing himself.
He’s a demon and he can’t die easily, so Mammon had thought of another way.
He was gonna jump from this bridge, and rip his heart out while falling.
It was guaranteed he would die almost instantly if his heart is ripped out, and although that would be very painful, Mammon knew that was the only choice he had.
Mammon had tried cutting himself and tried to bleed to death, but he only managed to pass out for a few hours, waking up later to find his magic had stopped the excessive bleeding. He even tried to find poison pills but he was shooed away from everywhere. Then he attempted to drown himself and even hang himself, but each time his defensive magic interfered and saved Mammon from dying.
It took Mammon 8 days of searching in human libraries to finally find a book that explained how a demon could die. And he confirmed what was written, by searching through Satan’s books about the same.
Finally the day, the hour was here.
It was a full moon, and Mammon’s powers were at their highest. He was already at the bridge and he was readying to release his claws.
Oddly enough, Mammon felt at peace.
He was sad, yes, but more than that Mammon was happy. He was going to be free.
Mammon was finally going to be free!
With a tranquil smile on his face, Mammon stepped closer to the edge and raised his hands.
Goodbye brothers. I hope y’all will be happier without me.
“NO!! STOP!!” Somebody screamed, and Mammon felt two hands grab his jacket, pulling him off the railing.
Mammon closed his eyes and groaned loudly as he fell, feeling an immense amount of anger bubble inside him.
WHO DARED TO STOP HIM?!
Ready to attack Mammon open his eyes to meet an unfamiliar pair of teary eyes, that were full of desperation.
“Please,” she whimpered, tightening her hold on Mammon’s arm. “Please don’t do it.”

YAYAY FINALLY DONE WITH PART TWO!!
This was really long and intense, and because I wrote this so fast, it is not proofread. So I apologize if it's disappointing.
Originally I was going to give Mammon a sad ending, but our lovely boy Mams is too precious and I couldn't do that to him in my very first fic.
So expect more fluff in the following chapters, because Mammon will get the love and support he deserves.
Reblogs and comments are appreciated. Please let me know your thoughts on how you feel about this.

LOVE your works !!!!!! i adore how everytime u write, it just kind of turns into a very subtle character study (at least that's what i'm getting) it's vvv nice and the kind of writing im into <33
it's gmt for me so idk if i'm way past the cut off and this might be an odd request btw but a reader refusing lucifer and belphie's offer of a pact after yk... everything lol. it's up to u if the reader eventually accepts but i want it to hurt 🤌🏻
Thank you so much, that's so sweet. I hope you will see your request since I'm taking so long, and I hope you like it. I hope its got enough angst and hurt. I think they have two different types of hurt in it. Lucifer's has more of his pain and Belphie's has more of the reader's pain.
Rejecting their pact offers
(Lucifer x gn!MC) (Belphegor x gn!MC)
(Slightly suggestive for Belphegor) (angst) (hurt; pain; implied physical and emotion harm to reader; slight yandere!Belphegor; Belphie is really creepy in this with some non-consent elements regarding touching/kissing)

Lucifer
You dreaded spending time alone with Lucifer, so you were displeased to receive a message from him – and even more unhappy that it had arrived, coincidentally, just as you had finished your assignment, when you were looking forward to being able to unwind. Your hopeful plans were crushed by an arrogant invite:
Lucifer: Meet me in my study once you’re free. Alone. Don’t keep me waiting.
Your first instinct was to pretend that you were busy all night and didn’t have time for whatever he wanted, but you knew you wouldn’t enjoy your night if you were constantly on guard and worried about your leisure being interrupted. You could pretend you didn’t read it – after all, you turned your read receipts off specifically because of Lucifer. You could wash up and head straight to bed, sacrificing your free time for the sake of avoiding Lucifer. But avoiding him would only result in his nagging the following morning, and he had already ruined your night, so you might as well safeguard your morning peace by appeasing him. Hopefully whatever he wanted would be quick and painless. With a sigh, you reluctantly dragged yourself in the direction of his study.
You knocked at the door despite it being open ajar.
“MC, please enter,” Lucifer spoke up. He knew it was you; his brothers never knocked. You heard the shuffling of paper and the creaking of his desk chair as you opened the door fully. “You’re slightly earlier than I expected. I’m glad to know that your studies are not giving you any trouble – or at least, I suspect that’s why you’re here so soon.”
“Yeah,” you answered him shortly. He seemed flustered by your presence – which would be entertaining outside of the current situation. You stood in the doorway, watching Lucifer collect his papers and tidy his workspace before walking over. His looming figure inched closer, but you stood your ground. “Did you need something from me, Lucifer?”
“Right. Please take a seat. Can I pour you a glass of Demonus? I’ve acquired a new bottle from Diavolo, and I’ve been looking forward to trying it. I’d like to open it with you.” Lucifer walked over to his bar; pulled a bottle from the very back of the top shelf, hidden behind a taxidermy raven; and grabbed two clean glasses.
“No thank you. I’m fine.”
“Oh.” The sound left him so quietly, you weren’t certain he had intended for you to hear it. He put one of the glasses back, hoping you wouldn’t notice, and poured himself a drink. “Suit yourself.”
“Was that all?” Your eyes wandered the room. You hadn’t been in here for a while, and the last time was not particularly ideal.
“Of course not!” Lucifer looked away indignantly. “I wouldn’t call you to my study just for a drink. I have something important to discuss.”
“Alright.”
Lucifer took a sip of his drink before speaking again; his subtle delays – the slow draining of your time and patience – annoyed you. “You’ve impressed me over the last few months, and you’ve managed to make pacts with each of my brothers. I believe you’ve proven yourself worthy of a pact with me. That is, so long as we make one thing clear: if we form a pact, I own you. I don’t care who else you’re entangled with, you’ll be mine.”
“No. I’m good.” You shook your head to accentuate your response.
“What?” Every muscle in Lucifer’s body tightened, and the glass in his hand formed a superficial crack. His eyes widened. Shock and anger fed off each other as Lucifer sat there speechless.
“I don’t trust you,” you admitted. Somehow, you were thrilled to finally have the opportunity to tell Lucifer how you truly felt.
“After everything we’ve been through together?” Lucifer scoffed. He thought he had proven himself to you. He’d come so far since the last time he had tried to hurt you. He thought you were both past this – that you meant more to each other by now.
“No, Lucifer, after everything you did to me.” You sat up from the chair, rage rising with you. You had done nothing but try to help him and his family, and he had done nothing but hurt you. Even when he had saved you, it was usually for his own selfish reasons. By the time he had developed this strange infatuation with you, you had no trust left to give him. You had no foreseeable interest in furthering a relationship with him – especially not after the pompous way he asked you.
“MC, please, be reasonable. You know very well why I reacted the way I did at the time. You’re a part of my family now,” Lucifer pleaded with you desperately, trying to show you his version of reason. He grabbed your wrist and clung to you tightly, afraid to let you leave. “I won’t hurt you like that again. I promise. I adore you much too much.”
“Lucifer,” you half-sighed, half-winced, “let go. You’re hurting me right now.”
“I’m sorry,” Lucifer apologized. He quickly let go of you and brought his hand back to his chest, wide-eyed and terrified. “Please. . . I’ve never offered this to a human before.”
You could hear the heartbreak in his voice, it trembled on his vocal cords and shook his breath. It was his last resort to persuade you: to show you that he had never been this vulnerable, and he didn’t know how to handle your rejection. You knew he needed you to accept his offer – or at least consider it. Anything except rejection would be survivable.
“Please?” Lucifer begged softly; his cheeks flushed with shame.
“Just because I’m your first and you might have changed, it doesn’t mean I have to accept your offer.”
Belphegor
You could have sworn that you had locked your door before heading to bed last night – and no one could blame you for still feeling a bit cautious after the events that occurred a few weeks ago. Yet, you were disturbed by the creaking of your bedroom door – if it hadn’t been unlocked before, it certainly was now. The soft shuffle of exhausted demon feet creeped towards your bed. You gulped and inched closer to the wall, hoping your eyes would adjust, and you would see Mammon. Maybe he had a nightmare. Or maybe it was Asmo, and he was lonely. Maybe Beel got lost on his way back from the kitchen – and hopefully not on his way towards the kitchen.
“Sleepy,” a soft voice muttered, and your hope plummeted. Fear spiked, prickling up your spine as you felt Belphegor crawl into bed next to you. His hands pat the bed gently, searching for your body, feeling for your warmth. He whined, “MC, hold me.”
“Sleep in your own bed, please.” You tried to sound firm, but your voice trembled at the last word. Maybe it was fear, but maybe your own lips could hardly stomach the thought of begging a demon like Belphegor to let you sleep in peace. After everything he did, why did he think he had the right to break into your room in the middle of the night and crawl into your bed?
“Too far now, and I want to sleep with you.”
Against your will, Belphie wrapped his arms around you and pulled you close, resting his head on your shoulder. He nuzzled into you, taking in your scent with a deep, calm inhale. A gentle hum left him.
It was infuriating, the way he relaxed against you while your body tensed with an overflow of negative emotions: anger, annoyance, anxiety. It wasn’t fair that he could drift peacefully to sleep, clinging to you, after everything he did. You wished he would stop – that he would let you go and return to his room, shutting the door on his way out. You’d make sure it was locked this time; you’d double check it and put a curse on it if you had to.
“I was thinking,” Belphegor hummed mindlessly without even opening his eyes. He practically sounded happy. “We should make a pact.”
Your blood boiled, and you stared at his restful form in the dark. “No, Belphegor. I don’t want a pact with you.”
“Why not?” he started, eyes shooting open to stare at you in disbelief for a brief moment before he remembered. He lowered his eyes and attempted to bury his face against your arm. “Don’t answer that.”
“You know why.” There was spite in your words – so bitter that Belphegor couldn’t ignore it even if he wanted to.
Suddenly he felt he had to do something, and before you could understand what was happening, Belphie had tackled you, pinning your hands down at your sides and straddling your lap. The dim glow of his amethyst eyes soaked up all the light in the room when he stared down at you. His grip on your hands wasn’t tight, but a familiar fear clawed at your throat, cutting back your desire to protest.
“Hush. Relax. I’m not a threat anymore. I love you. I want you. For fuck’s sake, if I was going to hurt you again, I would have done it already, so please, please don’t be scared. I need you. Come on, accept a pact with me, please?” The light from his eyes disappeared from your sight as he dipped down. You felt him kiss up your neck lazily, his warm breath tickling your skin. From anyone else, this might have felt loving and affectionate, but from Belphegor, it seemed cruel – as if he was kissing where his hands might have bruised like some panacea that came too late. “Please? Don’t make me keep begging.”
“Get off!” Your voice came back to you in a frightened yelp, still hushed in the dark of night. You struggled and writhed beneath him. The panic was setting in.
“You’re scared?” Belphie questioned, almost surprised by his effect on you. He pulled back to meet your eyes, but you had them shut tight. “Hey, look at me. I told you I loved you. Don’t be scared.”
“Let me go, Belphegor.” You lifted your arms slightly, only for him to force them back down.
“Form a pact with me,” he insisted. He kissed just above your collarbone, allowing his lips to linger on your skin. “If we had a pact, you could control me. I can feel your pulse pounding; I know you’re scared, but if we make a pact, you’ll never have to be afraid of me again.”
“I’ll scream, Belphegor. I swear,” you warned.
“Shh,” Belphegor let go of one of your hands to cover your mouth. He held your gaze with a delusional sweetness. You felt tears prick the corners of your eyes, praying for someone to barge into your room and end this. Belphegor cooed, “I promise I won’t ever hurt you again. I know that will take time to prove, but I need you now. I need that connection to you. I crave it, and I can’t let my brothers be the only ones to stake their claim on you. And until you want me and trust me, a pact will give you reassurance. You’ll never have to worry about being alone with me. If I act out, I’ll be under your spell – in more ways than one. I just want to keep you safe. Can’t you understand that? Make me yours.”
You knew he had a point about control, but it didn’t make you want him. Still, when he removed his hand from your mouth, the fear and anxiety that remained spoke for you. “. . . Fine.”
“Yay.” Belphie giggled and kissed you sleepily, caressing along your cheek and neck. He hummed and stared down at you, trapped beneath him. With your eyes finally more accustomed to the darkness, you noticed a faint blush on his cheeks as he bit his lower lip. “You know, I’m not so tired anymore. Let’s stay up all night and make the pact more official. I’ll even let you mark me.”

Pacts - Mammon x MC
Part 3
Haven’t Read The Beginning? : Part One - Part Two
Tag list + Author’s Note at the end
Tags: Angst w/ eventual comfort, Mentions of Death/The Fall, Mentions of anxiety/anxiety attacks
——————————————————————————
Okay… Deep breaths. Just like Lilith taught ya.
In.
Out.
In.
Out.
In
In
IN!!!!
“Mammon, what’s wrong! Hey, Mammon, come on, come back to me.”
If only the simple snapping of your fingers in his face and the feeling of you grabbing his shoulders could bring him down from the panic he was now feeling.
This should be easy. He can remember another time, a simpler time, a time long gone by. One where his sister still lived and smiled and breathed. One where she taught him things like expressing your feelings and sharing your emotions with others. One where she showed just how important family and friends and lovers could be…
He was never good at it. Of course, that was his own personal opinion. But whenever he did Lilith would smile that blinding smile and glow and tell how much of a natural he was at it.
He’s flirted, sure, he’s put on the charm and picked up various angels and demons and humans and who even knows what to fulfill his more primal desires. He’s taken lovers and partners and been a part of a couple, or thruple…or even quadruple, some of which lasting for years or even decades.
But ever since the fall, ever since he lost his home, his friends, his sister, his life; and was left to pick up the pieces with the other six who swore themselves to damnation for the rest of existence? He can’t say that he’s been interested in another being. At least not like this.
You. You. The human. The stupid exchange student he was unceremoniously shackled to. The one he had no choice but to watch over. The one that seemingly didn’t care that they were thrust into hell. The one that defied his all powerful brothers, whether out of bravery or innocence or down right stupidity. The one that calls him silly for wearing sunglasses inside and hums to themselves when they’re really focused and explores the Devildom with curiosity rather than fear and is too friendly for their own good and looks at him with big, bright, beautiful eyes that nobody has ever looked at him with before and tells him they really like hanging out with him and and and…
Everything stops. Everything goes blank. The only thing Mammon can feel is a weight, one that’s made it’s way around his body. It’s comforting and warm and all consuming and it’s…
He opens his eyes he didn’t realize he had screwed shut, only to find you clinging onto his form, arms wrapped around him. Your face tilts upwards from where it was buried in his chest, your expression painted one of concern.
“Oh god- I mean, oh gosh? I think. Are you okay?”, you question, tone laced with worry. “I have anxiety attacks too sometimes, I know it sucks. Do you need space? Or maybe water? I don’t know how it works for demons but that usually helps me.”
Mammon feels the blush beginning to spread across his face, knowing the position you’re both in looks compromising. He can’t remember the last time he has someone make such a fuss over him, and of course it’d be you, while he’s trying to sort out his feelings no less! You make it extremely hard to think, but he’d be lying if he said he didn’t absolutely enjoy every second you made contact with his skin.
“N-Nah, ‘m good. I guess it’s…just a lot to explain ‘n all,” he mutters, playing with a loose thread he found on your shirt collar.
“Well, then let’s start from the beginning. The pact, right? We formed it like normal, well… as normal as forming a pact with a demon can be, right?
“Right.”
“And the placement of ours… that doesn’t normally happen right- or at least, it hasn’t happened to you?”
“Right. Hasn’t happened to me before, or any of ‘m brothers. I dun’ even think Solomon’s got one there, and he’s covered in ‘em. It’s….rare.”
“Rare? How’s it rare?”
“Well…cause it means somethin’. Somethin’…. important.”
He continues pulling at the loose thread, looking anywhere but you, his face a brilliant shade of red.
“All pacts represent a bond right?”
“Yea.”
“A shared bond? Between the former and formee.”
“Yea.”
“And so a bond formed over my heart means something…else?”
“GAH! DO I HAV’TA SPELL IT OUT FOR YA DUMMY!”
Mammon jumps up from his seat and out of your arms before shoving his hands in his pockets, turning his back towards you. He brings a shaky hand up to wipe his face.
“Tch. Can’t believe ‘m sayin this out loud”, he mutters under his breath, before turning around.
“Human, I…I like ya! Okay! There, I said it, ya happy dammit?!”
It was now your turn to blush furiously, watching as he brings his shoulders up and winces, almost like he’s waiting for something bad to happen, almost like he’s bracing for the worst.
“You…like me?”, you ask, shocked at the bluntness of his confession.
“Don’t make me repeat myself!”
You sit dumbfounded, letting the feeling of his feelings wash over you. He watched the gears turn in your head and thinks that if you think any harder, your brain is going to explode. Ya know, fragile human stuff ‘n all.
“But…Mammon, you said you didn’t like me being around you. You said that it was an inconvenience to be near me. You even said the pact mark was a blemish.”
Mammon freezes. Fuck. For once, the outspoken second born doesn’t have a response. He stares at you, eyes wide and wild, a deer caught in the headlights.
“So, you throw insults at me, tell me to leave you alone, and now you tell me you like me?”
“I-”
“Mammon, what am I supposed to do with that? You constantly treat me like an annoyance, you threatened me my first week here, hell, you just decided it was fine if I was seen with you outside of R.A.D., and now all of a sudden you like me?”
“MC-”
“I…I don’t know what to say, Mammon. Honestly, I don’t know…what you want from me here.”
His fists ball in his pockets as he starts to tremble a little. He bites his lip and turn his head, not wanting to face you for this next part. Even if you denied it due to the hurt he caused, he knew the undeniable truth; It sat right across your chest.
“Ya don’t gotta say anythin’. I already know how ya feel about me.”
“Mammon-”
“No, I do. Ya don’t have to say it. An’ I’m sorry for bein’ a jerk, alright. I just…I can’t…I’ve been…I mean…It’s cuz’…tch!”
He turns again to compose himself. You almost expect him to leave, to run towards the door and walk out, sulking by himself. You can’t say you’d blame him, you’d probably find yourself doing the same if someone responded to you the way you had just to him. Sure, you liked the second born, but he made it so hard with the way he flip flopped his feelings towards you. You don’t have long to mourn the budding friendship you were having with the avatar of greed before he makes his next move.
He shakes his head and turns back to you, his trademark cocky smirk reappearing across his face. There’s an expression in his eyes you can’t quite place, and he steps forward, crouching down to your eye level. There’s a new determination to his swagger, one that makes your heart beat speed up and your body run hot.
“MC, I know how ya feel about me, ‘cuz pact marks only form there if ya both feel the same way.”
Before you could process the thought, his lips are on yours.
You don’t have time to react, he’s doing that for you. One hand comes up behind the back of your head to fist your hair as he brings you closer to him, deepening the kiss, though he still leaves space for you to push him away, enough where if you truly didn’t want this, you could escape his grasp.
It’s tender, you think, the way he holds you. The way his lips move across yours is a softness you’ve never felt before, and it takes your brain a second to catch up and begin kissing him back. As soon as you do, you feel his lips stretch into a smile. This, a stark contrast from the sides of himself he’s been showing you thus far.
After a minute or so, he pulls away from you. “Ya have no idea how long I’ve been wantin’ to do that.”
“Based on what you’ve told me”, you muse with smile, “It looks like it’s been…hmm…I dunno…about as long as I’ve been here?”
“Shuddup.”
You can’t help but laugh at his childish reaction. No matter if he was insulting you like a kid on the playground or kissing you like you were his only way to breathe, he was still Mammon.
“So what does the pact mark on the heart mean in scientific terms?”
“Scien-what?”, He gawks, clearly stumped at your question. You stifle another giggle.
“I mean, if I asked what it meant to a teacher or, say, Solomon, what would he say it meant?”
Mammon sighs at the question. You really were gonna make him repeat himself, huh. “It means that I like ya and ya like me, okay?”
You seem kind of bummed at this answer. “Aww, is that it?”, you question.
“Whadda mean is that if? Whadda ya want, it to mean we’re soulmates or somethin’?”
“Does it?”
“…”
“Mammon?”
“…”
“WAIT! MAMMON! DOES IT?”, you wildly smile, eyes bright in shock.
“S-Some old folktales may say-”
“I’M ASKING SOLOMON!”, you declare, jumping out of his arms and speeding towards the door
“Oi! No ya don’t ya little nightmare!”, he screams running after you.
He’d let you win this race, of course he would. And the one after that. And the one after that.
Besides,
He had the rest of your life to catch ya whenever he wanted.

Hello! Congratulations of 4000+ followers! Y'all do amazing writing, and its been really cool to see the blog grow overtime
For the event, may I request⚡️with Diavolo and yes on MC! Thank you so much, and I hope y'all have a good day
Thank you so much!! ;//u//; And also thank you for sticking around for so long -- it really does mean a lot! 💕
"What good is this "great power" of mine? Absolutely everything slips through my fingers." - Diavolo/MC
Tumblr media
You hadn’t asked for this power.
No, it was something that had been thrust into your hands, into your very being as the trajectory of your life changed the instant you opened your eyes and found your gaze held by pools of gold in an unknown and dangerous world. It was that one moment that began the unraveling, the revealing of all that you were and to be.
It seems like such a distant memory now, that first day in the Devildom.
No, you hadn’t asked for this power, but you didn’t refute it either. You had welcomed it, reveled in it. You had been plunged into a world of magic and monsters, angels and demons, witches and sorcerers – and you, a mere human who had been oblivious to the very real existence of this world in the shadows, were considered to be one of the most powerful mortals among it.
And yet, as of late, you had been feeling absolutely powerless.
“Love, you’ve barely touched your food.” Diavolo’s gentle voice brings you out of your thoughts, and you look up now to meet those same golden eyes you first held all those years ago. His gaze flickers to your hand, where you’ve been fidgeting with the Ring of Light. The one thing stopping your very existence from ending the world as you knew it.
“Sorry,” You give him an apologetic smile as you lift your fork, letting it slowly sink into one of the vegetables on your plate. “I guess I just have a lot on my mind.”
“Care to share?” He’s worried. “You know you can tell me anything.”
“I know.” A sigh, and you set your fork down as you lean back in your chair. You try to find the words, your emotions half-formed on your tongue. “It’s just…with everything going on, I feel rather…useless.”
“Useless? You?” Diavolo nearly scoffs, leaning forward in bewilderment. “What makes you think that? Surely, we’ve all told you how you’ve done so much for us, for the Three Realms.”
“Have I, though?” You feel your throat begin to tighten, so you try to force your feelings down. “Everyone says that, and sure, to some extent I’ve played my part. But,” Your fingers tighten around the napkin in your lap. “You all have helped each other. I’ve just been a conduit, and sometimes I…I’ve been more of a problem to solve than a solution.”
“That’s not true–”
“But it is!”
Your voice cracks then, and you realize you can’t keep down the swirl of doubt and agony any longer. Before you even feel the tears pricking at the corner of your eyes, you find Diavolo now right beside you, holding your hands in his.
“My love, you hold more power than you can even begin to imagine.”
“And what of it!” You hastily remove your hands from his grasp, waving to the air around you. “What good is this ‘great power’ of mine?” The tears have escaped, and there’s a pang in your chest. “Absolutely everything slips through my fingers. I’ve barely begun to understand it and…and I don’t even know if I could save the very ones I care about from those that wish them harm.” Your eyes flicker to the ceiling, and you try to blink back the salt that hasn’t already slid down your cheeks. “I’ve come closer to destroying everything with it!”
The silence that follows your outburst is heavy. Diavolo examines your visage with a somber expression, his lips that so often are curved into a grin now taut and straight. It feels like ages before he finally speaks.
“It’s a terrible feeling, isn’t it?” You don’t know if you’ve ever heard his voice so low before. He was a demon who could make a whole room shake with his jovial laugh. “There are days where I, too, feel utterly powerless.”
“You?” Grasping at that napkin again, you bring it up to dry your face. “But–”
“I’m the ruler of the Devildom? One of the most powerful beings in the Three Realms? Yes, my dear. All great power comes with its golden chains, with its obstacles.” With a heavy sigh, Diavolo looks around the lavish dining hall you were both seated in. “A faction of the House of Lords continuously tries to undermine me, scheming behind my back to try and throw me out of my position.” His gaze now falls onto a painting on the distant wall, brushstrokes capturing war and fury. “The Celestial Realm tests my patience, mocking me at times as they play their own games, mainly of semantics.”
He turns his attention back to you with a sad smile. “They’re all waiting to find a crack, see what will bring me down to my knees. They’ve nearly succeeded at times. Made me feel like I was just a child playing at king. Made me feel that no matter the power I possessed, they could still pull the rug from under me.”
His hands find yours again, and this time you let them stay.
“But what I found is that despite it all, despite all the power that I possess, what really puts my feet on solid ground is having those who still stand by my side through it all.” He looks deep into your eyes, and once more you’re captivated by that calming gold.
“And you, darling, have some of the best by yours.”

Jealousy, Jealousy (Part 1)
Solomon x F! MC
Long Slowburn, Angst to comfort, Rough language and behaviour
Tumblr media
"I'm resigning as your apprentice, Solomon." The conviction in your voice was clear. You had clearly contemplated it for some time.
"You're... you're not even close to ready for higher level magic MC-" Solomon was clearly caught off-guard. More shocked than displeased.
"I don't need it. I don't need anything to do with magic or being a sorceror. I just- I'm done. So thank you for everything so far, but you won't need to waste your time with me anymore." You barely met his eyes before you walked out.
💮
This was two days ago. You were careful to tell him on a Friday, so you could avoid him for the weekend.
Mammon and Asmo both asked you whether you'd like to go out with them, but you refused. You didn't want to run into him on the streets either.
A part of you felt guilty for doing that to him. He did deserve an explanation atleast. But what could you possibly tell him?
I can't be around you anymore because I'm desperately in love with you but you already seem to have someone else.
No. It makes no sense. It sounds so juvenile and conceited, you shake your head and bite the inside of your cheek. You cringe at how strange and tense your next interaction with him might be.
But that wasn't a good enough reason for Lucifer to let you stay home. So you took a deep breath and left for RAD.
💮
To your relief, you had no classes in common in the first half. At lunch you sat alone, in a place where you'd usually never sit. Further lowering the chance to see him. So you ended up with a friendly bunch of Succubi from your classes.
They were complaining about how the assignments were too long to complete in one week and you wholeheartedly agreed. While one of them was mimicking the professor's stern voice, another one screamed.
She was holding up her phone and squealing in excitement. You peered at it. Asmo posted a new Devilgram story.
Of course.
You feigned interest to match the energy of these excited fangirls. But honestly you'd lost your appetite, listening to the conversation.
"Oh look, isn't that Solomon in the back? Oh he looks extra smoldering today. I wonder where he's staring so intently?"
"Yes yes that's definitely him. They're always together aren't they? Like an old married couple haha!"
"Solomon stays in Asmo's room when he stays at HOL, doesn't he? Oooh I wonder what sort of kinky things they get up to in there?!"
Asmo is incapable of loving him. He has known him for centuries and yet doesn't know anything about him. Even simple things like his favourite work of fiction or his music tastes. He has never taken interest in what Solomon's works or passions.
"Oh but I've heard Lucifer is more Solomon's type. Did you know he's been trying to get a pact with him since the last century?"
"Oh yeah I've definitely seen them around too. There's even fanart of them in the RAD fansites now ahaha!"
"They are totally like rivals to lovers. Did you see the magical duel they got into once? They are so equally matched!"
Lucifer cannot stand the sight of him, let alone trust him. He always told me how dubious and shady Solomon was, literally asking me to shut him up and keep him away once I became a sorceror.
You couldn't sit and stew in this conversation anymore, painfully close to puking out all the contents of your stomach. But they caught you trying to leave.
"What about you, MC? As his apprentice who do you think suits romantically Solomon?"
Me.
You wanted to scream it. But you didn't. How selfish and conceited of you. Who the hell were you decide? And it's not like people were not allowed to have their opinions on it. You couldn't in your right mind, judge them for simply making the most logical assumptions.
"Haha I honestly couldn't tell. We never really talked about things like these." You laughed awkwardly before excusing yourself. The bell rang just in time. You headed straight to class.
💮
You were clutching your books to your chest. How did things turn out like this? You were sure to be as fast as possible. How did all the seats get filled up? And why was the only empty seat next to Solomon?
"MC, please come in and sit down. We need to get the class started." The professor said, impatiently. You nodded in apology and headed in the direction of your doom.
You could feel his eyes on focused on you, sending chills down your spine. But you didn't dare glance more than once. It didn't help that this was a double period.
And anytime your hands or elbows accidentally touched, you flinched, muttering soft apologies and tried to move your seat away. But somehow your seat was being pulled back into place again.
"The next assignment is to be done in pairs. So everyone partner up with person you're sitting next to and finish it by next class. Class dismissed."
Oh, just my fucking luck.
"I'll come by the House of Lamentation at 7:30 tonight." His voice was icy as he got up from his seat, moving back so you get out of class first. On your way home, all you could hear was the sound of your heart pounding wildly.
💮
You were suprised that the house was still empty at 7. You texted the brothers asking if something happened.
Satan texted back about how there had been a sudden increase influx of student requests and the student council has too many of them to review.
Beel texted you to eat without them cause they might have to stay in school overnight. You felt your anxiety rise. The thought of being all alone in the house with Solomon...
The doorbell rung exactly at 7:30. You opened the door and welcomed him in. The coldness never left his eyes. His footsteps were deliberately slower and more weighted as he followed you to your room.
"I've set up the initial requirements of the experiment, so if you have the magical items and extracts, we can just get started right away-"
SLAM!
The door shut and locked loudly behind him. You thought you could get away with pretending everything was fine but clearly he had different intentions.
"I believe you owe me some explanations, MC." He walked over to the bed, grabbing your wrist along. You could feel the repressed anger in his grip. It scared and excited you all at once.
You found yourself cornered against the wall behind the bed, your ankles binded together by his glowing ropes. Struggling was useless. He leaned forward until you could feel his hot breath on your lips.
"Sorry about the extreme measure MC, but you have a rather unpleasant habit of running away from conversations."
💮
To be continued....
