A/N: crack fic with minor foreshadowing ooh spooky. anyways theres a lil heartfelt moment in there cuz im a loser who likes heartfelt moments. enjoy. (lmk if i missed any warnings)

Last night, you got to spend your first night in your own room! This may not seem like huge thing to most, but when you've been sharing with a group of twelve year old boys..you loose your mind a bit.You sit up and stretch with a huge yawn. For once in your life, you've managed to get a peaceful nights sleep, which meant you could probably do something productive with your evening. You go to your dresser and choose a lovely f/c outfit that compliment your scales beautifully, and then walk to your door so you can go downstairs and eat some food. Maybe you would even do today's homework-

THUD

You stumble backwards, nearly falling on your ass. What the fuck? You try and walk forwards once again before you realize the problem: your wings. Sometimes your wings wouldn't fold if you kept them folded for too long, which has never proven to be a problem because you could always squeeze through the doors. This is apparently not the case in your new room. You stare at the door before trying to turn sideways and walk through the door- except your room wasn't big enough to turn fully with your wings expanded.

What the hell do you do? Do you yell for Kurt to get his ass in here and teleport you out? Or do you wait for Logan to realize you're not in class and go looking for you? You stand there for ages before eventually looking out the window. The stars were out tonight, which meant you would be able to convince Logan to skip class and look at the stars instead. If you could get out of your god forsaken room-

Logan sighed for what felt like the hundredth time this minute. Y/N was late for class by an hour, which by itself was unusual, but no one has seen Y/N all day- they usually at least try to leave their room during the morning. He gave up on waiting and decided to look for them- first thing first, their bedroom. They could've just overslept and are still tangled in about a million blankets (Logan commented that it looked like a nest, and Y/N's response had been "Fuckin' duh.")

He reached their room and knocked three times, and immediately heard an exasperated "Fucking finally! Open the door!" Clearly confused, Logan opened the door to reveal Y/N standing on their bed with their wings expanded, taking up most of the room. "Kid...what the hell happened?" the teen grinned at him and shrugged, simply responding "I got stuck here for two hours 'cause my wings wouldn't fold. Can you get Kurt to teleport me out?"Logan nodded and took one last glance at them before heading off to the end of the hall where Kurt was.

"..So, that's what happened to my wings earlier. It doesn't really hurt, but keeping them folded up all the time does." the teen said nonchalantly. Logan looked at them with a raised eyebrow, "You would think you would have the common sense to stretch them or, you know, fly, but I guess not." You shift uncomfortably and laugh a little " Yeah, I probably should stretch more often." The older man looks at you for a moment but decides to not comment on your wording.

The pair sits in silence for the next while, quietly admiring the stars. You look at Logan momentarily, wondering how different your life would be if you hadn't come to the school. You would probably be deep in a forest, far away from any civilisation. You wouldn't have your amazing friends, any good role models...you would be alone.

Thank fuck you're not.

i thought it would be fun to share what i’m reading for pride :-)

i have been a lifelong fan of elliot page, one of my first celebrity crushes (alongside anna paquin in xmen) & if you’ve ever watched any of his other work like gaycation or there’s something in the water, you know he is very articulate & deliberate with his words & that definitely translates into his writing as well. i’m about halfway through and really enjoying it, his writing is again very deliberate and snappy, and i like how he reflects on the history of where he grew up and interweaves it with his childhood & present day. one of my favorite passages so far is when he's reminiscing about playing pretend as a boy:

"Those were some of the best times of my life, traveling to another dimension where I was... me. And not just a boy but a man, a man who could fall in love and be loved back. Why do we lose that ability? To create a whole world? A bunk bed was a kingdom, I was a boy."

i’ve read this collection many years ago as a teen/early 20s and it’s actually been really hard for me to reread. i got through the first 3 chapters and had to set it aside because it was really affecting me. maybe because i’m older… anyways, not sure if i’m going to finish this reread since i don’t really think i’m in the right headspace to handle it. however there’s a lot of Leslie Feinberg’s writing available online, i’ve shared some previously and you can find them here :-) sbb is also available for free on hir website, and i do still recommend it, just be aware of the content before you start reading.

i've read some of the essays in this anthology previously, but i have a really hard time reading the scanned pages on my laptop (hurts my head) so i bit the bullet and ordered my own copy from a used bookstore. it was suspiciously cheap compared to where i've seen it elsewhere, so fingers crossed it's the real deal. i'm excited because the shop noted that it had previous wear & potential writing in the margins from the previous owner and i look forward to seeing the thoughts of the person before me :-)

i really like reading older lesbian literature, though it makes me sad sometimes that a lot of the lesbian bar culture no longer exists. i wish i could go back and talk to some of the women and butches that lived through it.

i'm excited to read this one and get my own copy eventually. a lot of the butch literature i've read has been from white butches (primarily leslie feinberg & ivan coyote) & i look forward to reading a new perspective. kitty tsui is also another butch whose work i really like, she has an essay in the persistent desire and i know that one has made the rounds on tumblr before.

anyways just felt like sharing ! i haven't been able to do anything for pride this year so i'm trying to fill the void a bit with reading a lot of gay/lesbian literature. hope you all are having a safe and happy pride :-)

"Christmas Morning"

A/N: merry fucking christmas *tears down calendar that says it's June* sorry to everyone who requested fics that i blatantly ignored, i have had an excruciatingly stressful year, and i feel like if i wrote said requests they wouldnt turn out the best they could be. It was early on Christmas morning. Scott had woken you up at 6am and dragged you down the stairs to open presents with the rest of your friends. You decided that your present to him this Christmas was not murdering him for this act of treachery (and a small painting of Scott depicted as one of Snow White's dwarves).

You curled up on the couch with your loving dog Edo, half asleep, as everyone exchanged gifts. A pile of presents and wrapping paper were slowly building up on the floor. So far, you had received a pair of fuzzy socks that Kurt had crocheted, the Twilight book series from Jean, a Snow White colouring book from Scott, and a new glitter-pen stationery set from Jubilee. Among those gifts you also had a thick leather-bound notebook from Professor McCoy, "The Art Of War" by Sun-Tzu from Erik, and a pair of novelty dice from the Professor. You weren't sure why you got that last one but you appreciated it all the same. As the group surrounding you chattered and joked, your gaze drifted towards the door. Logan had gone on a trip a few weeks ago, with the promise of being back before Christmas. So far he had yet to make an appearance, which was worrying you, but you tried to focus your thoughts back to your friends.

As the day went on, you found yourself glancing over to the door every few minutes, hoping Logan would walk in at any minute. You were currently trying to distract yourself by playing with Edo outdoors in the garden, despite the freezing cold. It wasn't working as well as you had hoped, as your mind still wandered and worried about Logan. Plus, your hands were getting numb.

As you throw a ball for Edo to catch, you hear someone walking up behind you. You turn, and are greeted with the site of Erik Lenhsherr, who has a mixture of a kind look and a "What the fuck are you doing out here in the freezing cold on Christmas?" look on his face. You knew Erik pretty well, despite the fact he had only moved into the mansion a few months ago, and the pair of you shared many pleasant conversations (which were all almost entirely about philosophy, western literature and cat memes.) You turn back around and watch as Edo runs up to you, a happy expression adorning his features.

"Might I ask why you aren't inside with everyone else?" Erik asked, watching Edo drop the ball in front of you, before his gaze turns to you. You pick up the slimy ball and pelt it across the yard. You watch Edo sprint after it, then deciding to say "Just thought I should appreciate nature at it's finest, s'all." You hear Erik sigh, and you turn back around to face him. His smile was gone now, instead replaced by creased eyebrows and a downturned mouth.

Erik shifted his shoulders, pondering what he should say, then sighed again. "I know you miss Logan, Y/N." Your gaze turns to the frost tipped grass as Erik continues, "And I know it's hard not having him here with you on Christmas." Erik pauses before saying "But I also know that if Logan were here, he wouldn't want you outside in the freezing cold, especially not alone." He paused again, then simply said with a small bit of worry evident in his voice "Come back inside, Y/N." You watch as Edo drops the ball further away and chases a bird around. You bite your the inside of your cheek, thinking for a moment, before agreeing "Ok." Erik smiled and patted you on the shoulder. "I'll see you inside." He turned and started walking away, then called after him "And put some gloves on!" You huff a small laugh and then whistle for Edo to come over.

It was now the late evening. Most of the younger kids had gone off to bed a while ago, so the living had the older kids and some of the teachers inside. An old re-run of 'Home Alone' was playing on the crappy TV that looked like it was around longer than Logan. Edo was curled up beside the fireplace, a content look on his face. Jean and Scott were leaning against each other on the couch, talking quietly amongst themselves. Jubilee and Kurt had gone to bed as they both apparently wanted to keep on track with their "sleep schedule", and wouldn't stay up for just another half hour. What a bunch of losers, you thought as you pulled on the socks Kurt crocheted for you.

You walk out of the living room, wandering down the hall towarss the main entrance. As you round the corner, you see the door open and Logan step in, covered in snow and rain. Your once bored expression turns into one of pure glee as you shout "LOGAN!" before barrelling into the man. Logan lets out a small 'oof' as you hug him, you wings wrapped around him. He hugs you back and says in his usual gruff manner "Missed you too, kid." You release him from your death grip and grin up at him, bouncing on the balls of your feet. "I have a present for you!" Logan raises an eyebrow, but before he can question the gift, you grab his hand and start dragging him towards the living room. As you walk, you ask Logan about where he went, and what it was like, and did he see any cute dogs, and did he take any photographs. He tried to keep up with your rapid fire questioning- that he was somewhat used to, after over a year of knowing you- when you arrive in the living room.

As the rest of the room greet Logan and make conversation with him, you walk over to the far corner of the room where you stashed your present for him during the morning. You fished out the present from behind a few books, which was brightly wrapped in pink wrapping paper, and had a pink bow stuck on top. As you turned around (nearly knocking over a vase with your tail due to your enthusiasm) you caught Erik throwing a questioning look at the present. In return you stuck your tongue out at him, to which he rolled his eyes and turned back around to Charles. You walked back over to Logan, who was standing near the fireplace, and stood in front of him. Logan looked down at you and raised an eyebrow when he spotted the present.

You thrust the present into his hands before holding your own behind your back. You smiled, slightly nervous, and said cheerfully "Open it!". Logan carefully unwrapped it, to reveal a mug. He turned the mug around and read the print on it, and laughed heartily. You grinned and laughed a bit yourself. "I'll use it everyday." Logan said, smiling down at the mug. The mug in question read; 'May contain Whiskey, Vodka and/or Beer' You had found it in a novelty gift shop a few months prior and thought it was perfect for Logan.

As you two talked, Logan thought about how grateful he was to have a little brat like you in his life. Sure, you could be a pain in the ass- especially when he was trying to teach you Maths- but you were a sweet kid. He didn't know where he'd be without you, his reminder to keep going and stick around. Meanwhile, you thought about how your life had been tipped upside down like a glass of water when you first entered the school, and then how quickly it was refilled. Your life had become so much better as you built your new home, your new family, that you loved so dearly. You were eternally grateful for your family, and hoped it would stay this way forever- filled with hugs, dogs, jokes, happiness and cat memes. Though, as you were surrounded by your loved ones chattering away, you had the dreading sense of feeling it wouldn't.

Opening commissions

Hello! I’ve decided to open fic and art commissions. Rather than use my old post I’d thought I would make a new one as my situations changed and I’m adding a couple more fandoms to the list. I will link my Ao3 so you can check out my writing style

Pricing starts at £7 for a 1k-2k fic and I am happy to do longer fics. If you want a follow up fic, I am happy to figure out pricing for that as well.

I am happy to do x reader fics for all types of reader as well as OC inserts or just fics for OCs however in order to get the best result communication will be needed so I can guarantee I portray your character accurately. Very happy to do trans and queer characters as a trans and queer person myself as well as poly ships as I’m also polyamorous

I am happy to write anything apart from explicit smut and anything I deem Dead Dove Do Not Eat. Of course the definition for this tag varies among people so if you have a request but aren’t sure if it fits or not do reach out and we can figure it out together! I’m very flexible. I am also happy to write triggering topics as long as it’s exploration not glorifying. If you’re unsure, ask! No judgements from me. I can also do complete fluff fics if that’s what you’re looking for! Doesn’t always have to be angsty ;)

I will write many characters in the dc comics fandom including the batfam, the Gotham rogues, the arrowfam (I can do both RHatO!Roy and Roy Harper), teen titans both new and the fab 5, and various others so do ask! Even if I haven’t read the characters comics as long as I feel I can gather their character from meta analysis I’m happy to write them

I can do criminal minds up until the end of season 6 so characters and development after those seasons will not be taken into account when writing

For stranger things I will write nearly any ship as long as it’s not DDNE and will write for all characters. The only one I struggle with is steddie as it’s just not my ship, but I’m happy to give it a try as I love both characters individually. I will only write Chrissy x Eddie platonically. I’m happy to write the characters as any head cannoned sexuality or gender identity as long as it doesn’t erase any explicit representation from the show (I.e making Robin or Will straight). Poly ships are welcome (and awesome)

For umbrella academy I can do all seasons and the first two volumes of the comics and are happy to combine aspects of both for fics. I won’t do fics focussing on any incest ships however will write fics that discuss and mention Allison x Luther as long as it’s not in a way that approves of the relationship. Luther x Sloane is fine as is Diego x Lila. I will not write fics that completely vilify Allison, despite her actions in s3 she does not deserve to be completely villanised. These are nuanced characters and will be treated as such!

Will do bbc merlin! I don’t think any extra info is needed for this one!

Can do bbc Sherlock, however, while I have a good grasp of the characters, I’m a bit fuzzy on the events from the show so will need to refresh if requested!

Will do MCU bar ms marvel and agents of shield as I haven’t seen them yet but including defenders. Once again no incest ships but happy with whatever. Also happy to write fics with comics!wanda instead of the whitewashed mcu version. (I will write that version as well as I know she’s a beloved character in her own right) can also do xmen because those movies are the best.

Much more limited in my marvel comics knowledge but can confidently do black widow, Jessica jones, Clint Barton, daredevil and Wanda. As I said with dc, will try any character as long as I feel I can gather a good understanding of them from other sources

Julie and the phantoms! Headcannons welcome but won’t change cannon sexualities such as Alex!

Newsies including 1992 movie. Make sure to specify if you want one or the other or a combination. Go crazy with head cannons (if you don’t, I will)

I will do reader inserts for all these fandoms

i can see how a lack of experience with xmen extinction plotlines would make you see this as a great tragedy

the truth is that's far from the worst that has happened to mutantkind and yet, they still managed to crawl away from those instances:

genosha was subjected to a worse fate than krakoa even tho they were on the same scale, that being an island populated by most of the mutant population found on earth

then you have m day where mutants were depowered, leaving less than a thousand on earth and that was the neural state across all realities. being depowered wasn't the tragic part tho, it's what came after: all those depowered mutants were killed, adults and teens alike, by the purifiers just as they bade farewell to their friends while moving back to a civilian life

you wanna know what's so different with krakoa? it's not that all mutants were affected (there are large groups like sabretooth's exiles outside of krakoa and still on earth that should be fine as they aren't on land and stray as far away from krakoa and its portals as possible) or the number of casualties (...do we actually have a number for how many mutants there are on earth currently? not in space or in another dimension or where else. on earth only. it's hard to guess how big the gala fiasco was following so many extinction events happening in such a short amount of time already) or even that it happened to mutants on earth (sos from a few months back had all of earth's mutants fall under sinister's control, which is hands down a worse fate, and most of arakko's exploded with their planet)

krakoa is different because of how frustratingly predictable and subsequently preventable it was as a "tragedy" contrary to the past examples even tho it was eerily similar to them on a few aspects. it was predictable for the characters in the story and for readers because mutantkind completely falling during the third hellfire gala was announced last year. the teasers for all the comics that were supposed to come out in the second half of this year also told us mutantkind was going back to being on the brink of extinction following the gala after their island was gone. there's no surprise and the way it went down was actually so lazy and low effort if you followed the characters on krakoa for this long

Thank you for the overview!! I'd love to read some of the other events sometime too cause I know they're so crucial to Marvel history. Right now I try my best with this Krakoa arc.. I read to stay in the know but I'm not really enjoying myself 😅

What I try to look forward to are the side series that are supposed to come out (literally starting this month I think) that tie in with the Fall of X.. I do like following characters in the aftermath of a disaster rather than during. I've already read X-Men #25 which tried to show the state of the world a few weeks after.

Gravitational Pull (Charles Xavier X Teen!Reader) *PLATONIC

Characters: Charles Xavier X Reader (also Logan Howlett, also platonic)

Universe: Marvel, Xmen

Warnings: Hints of violence and injuries and possible death, mention of discrimination

Request: Hi! Can you do a charles x r where reader gets rescued by wolverine and taken to the x mansion where they are enrolled. But they have mega dangerous gravity manipulation and a super short and violent tempers, and Charles has to get the r too calm down at different points in the day when he senses their anger. 💟

“Now, does anyone know why some people can have two parents with the X gene and not develop their own mutation?” Charles asked the class in front of him. A few hands raised, and Charles smiled lightly, before pointing to the boy in the back who he knew hadn’t asked a question yet- he wanted it all to be fair and for all the students to feel included.

“Is it because it’s recessive? It’s like eye colour or hair colour?” He answered in more of a question.

“Correct! Very good. It’s exactly like that. Having two parents with the recessive gene does increase the chance of the child developing a mutation, but…” Charles’ speaking slowed as his gaze seemed to go distant. The students in his room grew confused, whispering to each other before growing concerned when he snapped back to reality, a serious expression on his face. “Everyone very calmly head downstairs to the bunker.” He instructed.

“Is it Y/N?” Someone in the back said. Charles didn’t answer, instead focussing on passing the message around the school while also giving instruction to avoid a certain hallway- where you were located. Everyone got up from their seat, and started heading out the room, and Charles followed after them, but separated to head in the direction of your location. As he got closer, he heard the wooden walls creak under stress, a lightbulb behind him blowing out, and Charles felt himself grow heavier like his clothes were soaked in water, and as he turned a corner, he saw you.

You stood with power, your hands low, palms open and pointed to the floor, and head low. Charles knew that the stance was to stop your own body from collapsing under the gravitational pull it was under, and yet your hair and any loose jewellery seemed to float in the air like it was in water. That was immediately concerning. Charles knew that with a wave of anger, you could accidentally rip yourself apart, and who knows what else. He tried to assess the situation, and as he did, he saw at the other end of the hallway in the direction you were facing, Logan appeared, gripping the corner of the wall and pulling himself up. “Y/N, can you untilt the hallway please?” Charles asked politely. A slight tilt to your head told him you heard him, and suddenly Logan went from standing on the wall to hitting the floor with a thud and a groan. “Thank you.”

Charles had a special connection with you specifically for this reason. A mental link, allowing him to feel your rage. It was an arrangement that you had essentially begged him to do the day Logan brought you here. Admittedly, Charles didn’t know how Logan found you, he just left one day for his usual trips for months at a time, but came back just weeks later with you, telling Charles you needed all the help he could give, and he was right. Gravitational manipulation, especially to this extent, could be catastrophic. When you were getting settled in with a check up with Hank, Charles had tried to gather some information on how strong you were, and Logan had given some examples of what you were capable of. “Cars become filled with helium, houses implode like submarines going to far down, and people are dolls waiting to be pulled apart.” Charles didn’t ask if these were just an exaggeration of what you could do to get his point across, or something he’d actually witnessed you do, and Logan had essentially threatened him to never look in your head and try and find out. He hadn’t, and he had no intention to, though you gave several counter that told him all he needed. The natural isolation, the genuine and often emotional apologises after the most minor hiccup with your mutation, your willingness to have him have access to your head at all times… and these outbursts of anger that triggered these major incidents… no one just has these, something triggers these behavioural issues, and while he didn’t know what it was, what he did know was that he could help. On top of the mental link to sense your anger, he also had your continuing success that if you were ever too angry to calm down, even with his and Logan’s help, he had your full permission to knock you out… and if worse comes to worse… put you down. Charles had agreed to this, but had his fingers crossed at that last one. He knew he’d never let that happen.

“Alright Y/N, take a deep breath and tell us what happened.” Logan asked you, getting up off the floor with a bit of a struggle. Charles watched your shoulders rise with a sharp intake of breath.

“Some assholes have been picking on some of my friends when they went shopping earlier.” You started. Immediately, Charles understood. You were one of the older children attending the school, graduation in your near future and you were looking at future plans. You were also extremely protective over the younger children, or even kids your age, or even adults. If there was an injustice, especially when someone was targeted for being a mutant, you cared, and you cared greatly. It was the source of a lot of your outbursts- that, and people prying into your past or trying to get a rile out of you. It never ended well, but with these, Charles knew how to calm you down rather easily. “I mean- they were just trying to have a normal life for a moment! They wanted to have fun and those jerks made Emily cry and now Nathan doesn’t want to go out anymore!” You huffed, turning to face Charles. Charles felt the air around him become even heavier and he struggled to breathe for a moment.

“I understand, Y/N. I know.” He assured, hiding his discomfort. “Is isn’t fair. We’ve been dealt a bad card in life… but do you remember what I said?” He inquired. With that question, Charles felt his arms no longer being pinned to his chair, as you looked to the side with a sigh.

“We have bad cards, but if we use them wisely, we can still find a way to win… Behave, keep a smile on our face, don’t let them break us… and be kind.”

“That’s right.” Charles confirmed. “Our reputation is fragile. If one of us slips up, then everyone else pays the price. We be kind and open, we offer to teach, and we set an example. When we use our powers in public, we have to be sure we use it for good. That’s why we have the Xmen.”

“I know… I know. But… what can I do? I’m just a disaster waiting to happen.” You shrugged with frustration.

“Not necessarily.” Logan spoke up, walking closer to you, until he had a hand on your shoulder. “I’ve seen what you’re capable of. With a bit more practice, possibly in controlling the area of effect and the scale of effect, you could do some real help. You could lift vehicles or rubble off of victims to save their life- or stop accidents.
