“Everybody has a secret world inside of them. All of the people of the world, I mean everybody. No matter how dull and boring they are on the outside, inside them they’ve all got unimaginable, magnificent, wonderful, stupid, amazing worlds. Not just one world. Hundreds of them. Thousands maybe.”
— Neil Gaiman (via quotemadness)

In Greek myth, the children of Leto are Apollo and Artemis — the shining twins. He is the god of the sun, archery, poetry (!!), healing, and many other things; she is the goddess of the moon, hunting, and animals, among others. Basically they’re both multi talented and very badass. 🌞 🌝 🏹

Cheat Sheets for Writing Body Language
We are always told to use body language in our writing. Sometimes, it’s easier said than written. I decided to create these cheat sheets to help you show a character’s state of mind. Obviously, a character may exhibit a number of these behaviours. For example, he may be shocked and angry, or shocked and happy. Use these combinations as needed.

Who are you?
You, mortal, crowned gifted mind;
cloaked in blue.
What stories shall you weave in
rhapsody?
What symphony born within -
Do you sing
but for a soul audience?
Silenced doubt.
Or does your voice carry high -
Free to breath -
Truth, fears, shared to peers beside.
Perhaps both;
You're the quiet and the noise
echoing;
Soothing keys; discordant strings.
Remember
the passion, yours, as it rings;
"Again, sing."

Life's Rule of Hue
Varied shades walk throughout life;
Trod the same path yet face different strife.
Be lighter; you're richer.
Be darker; fall farther,
Surrounded by dust, dressed in dirt,
Yet fair claim marble, donned in silken skirts.
An unsaid rule that keeps souls collared,
Known to to all but the colored:
Color defines;
Skin dictates life.

"How does an angel with
no wings learn to fly? "
~
Whose hands are full
always fluttering and fretting
yet still clinging to her children,
whispering lessons to get by.
~
This angel is strong;
flying high by my side,
~
Bleak days - they fade,
to falter - she'd pick herself up
and push on with life,
head always high.
~
Now that I'm older
and the world moves so much faster
~
I wish to hold her hands and take her
to places she'd seen only in dreams,
grant the wishes of her years younger,
without any reasons why besides to share with her a message of mind:
~
"Thank you
for loving me;
~
for accepting me, faults and all;
for placating me, when the dark swallowed me whole;
for encouraging me, to dream, to fly;
for being with me, flying side by side."
~
Wingless angel, what are you?
Kindness and compassion -
~
two of the most important things in life,
without which we'll never know
how to love; how to be kind; how to build a bond
like ours - you and I.
~
Dear wingless angel,
continue to fly by my side.

The gods of old do not fade,
Rather they still linger here present day.
Simply turn towards a mirror and look upon your face.

Civil War
It's only one mistake,
Another failure added to the pile.
a momentary loss
Another knot in Fate's cruel string
brought by one bad day.
running on and on down life's mile.
This is not the end,
Patience thinning for the curtain close.
so put on a smile.
Wipe the lie that fails to match the eyes.
Tomorrow - try again.
Empty words heard too many before.

According to hymn and rhyme,
Angels exist only in heaven on high.
Yet I must disagree, for I oft meet
Heavenly souls striding along the mortal streets.

The Worst Critic
The world is holdings it's breath;
Watching, waiting,
A crowd unseen but to me,
Asking
"What comes next?"
.
Will she fall?
Will she rise?
Will she give up -
Again? Mark it in thin lines.
Self-made judgement echo within a bleak ivory hall.

We have calcium in our bones, iron in our veins, carbon in our souls, and nitrogen in our brains. 93 percent stardust, with souls made of flames, we are all just stars that have people names.

I thought that I could make you proud,
Stiffen my back,
Face the crowd;
Sing your songs and dance to your tunes,
I thought that was all I had to do.
Weather the jeers and the sneers,
Swallow down my tears and choke back my fears,
I thought that was all I had to do.
All for you.
But I was wrong
To bend and break my bones for your songs,
Weathering words of hurt and scorn,
Yours that scream of how I shouldn't have been born.
I thought that I could make you proud.
But I know see that goal will never be;
Too far for me to reach.
You - the forever empty seat.
So I see now,
'Tis time to take my leave
of you; and take my final bow.
