Hey guys! I made playlists for both Phoenix and Miles! (Explanation for certain songs and rant under the cut)

There's some songs I couldn't add to Miles' playlist (Like the song "Decree Of A Prosecutor" from Turnabout: The Musical) that I really wanted too, but they weren't on Spotify. I got some other songs in there to make up for the ones I couldn't get in there, though.

I tried to do a thing where the songs go in the order of their lives? Like, in chronological order from when they were kids to present day? I thought it'd be cool and it's much easier to wrap my head around than just placing songs on the playlist. I like it having an order.

I also did a thing where some of the same songs are on both their playlists, and where a lot of the same artists are on both playlists because I like symbolism and shit. Some songs I took from other's playlists cause I wanted to make them have an equal number of songs and some I took from animatics and shit too.

Also, a lot of these songs aren't on a lot of the regular Miles and Phoenix playlists you see... BUT I LOVE THEM AND THEY FIT PERFECTLY OK? I also tried to do a thing where I put songs that I personally think they would listen too.

(Also lmao I took some of these songs from Stan and Ford's from Gravity Falls playlists on Spotify cause they really work together like...)

I wanna talk about their songs soooo badly guys.

I'll talk about a couple of them cause I wanna so badly.

Phoenix's Playlist:

I had an easy time finding songs for this motherfucker, and a lot of them are really good. There's a couple of songs I wanna explain though.

"The Great Pretender" is the most fucking Phoenix song ever. Like, holy shit. Kind of theater kid esc because "Pretending" yk? And it feels like he's always putting on a show and shit I don't know. Perfect.

"My Girl" and "Count On Me" are Pearl and Maya songs respectively. I see a lot of people do this thing where they make playlists for characters and only put songs based on the romantic relationships with that character and like. Uh. No? What about their family? What about their friends? People forget about that a lot and I don't like it so "My Girl" is kind of a Pearl being Phoenix semi-daughter song and "Count On Me" is a Maya best friend song.

OK SO, also "Poison" from Hazbin Hotel is on here and listen, I don't know if Phoenix would listen to this song BUT GODDAMN DOES IT GO WITH HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH KRISTOPH PERFECTLY. I put a lot of Krisnix/Kristoph songs on here ("Vampire" and "Wolf In Sheep's Clothing" mainly) because holy shit I love toxic tragic yuri.

Oh also, "Never Ever Getting Rid Of Me" is the most Phoenix/Feenie song ever. Everyone always goes on and on about how "When He Sees Me" is a Miles song and it is BUT NOBODY IS TALKING ABOUT "Never Ever Getting Rid Of Me" GIRL IT'S RIGHT THERE HOW DO YOU NOT SEE IT?

Miles' Playlist:

My boy's playlist get's soooo sad. Swear.

Ya'll don't get how much "The Run And Go" is SUCH a "Turnabout Goodbyes" song. It's so fucking good and it fits my boy so well. Just please, PLEASE LISTEN TO IT.

"Where I Want To Be" is a huge Miles song. I imagine him signing it when he's about ready to do his whole "Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth Chooses Death" thing it's soooo good. Also it's from a musical called "Chess" GUYS COME ON.

"Business Man" is soooo him and Von Karma.

"Wait For It" Please for the love of God that is such a Miles song. You guys don't know how much Hamilton has affected my view of these gay lawyers.

"Puppet Boy" Also slaps so hard.

"Death As A Fetish" is also a really good one for him.

Oh ok, so "Dear Sister, Your Brother" is a Miles and Franziska song that I absolutely love. People don't give this song enough credit.

Ok so "Brown-Eyed Girl" and "Vienna" are Kay and Sebastian songs respectively. Love them soooo much. They deserved a couple songs on his playlists because they are his children.

"Karma" is self-explanitory.

OK FINALLY WE'RE ON TO BOTH OF THEIR SONGS.

Fucking love putting Jet Lag on both of their playlists cause it fits them soooo well.

Also "Best Worst Mistake" from If/Then is their anthem. Like. Holy shit.

I love "If You Were Gay" from Avenue Q for them. They're so stupid and it fits them.

Um anyway, that's it.

Oh also, the friendship songs at the beginning aren't for just Miles and Phoenix. LARRY IS A PART OF THEIR GROUP TOO.

Oh also the two “Family” songs on both of their playlists is just me saying “EVERYONE IN THE WRIGHT ANYTHING AGENCY AND THE PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE ARE FAMILY”.

Also guys, I soooo badly wanted to put "Objections" on here but I couldn't find it on Spotify (Go figure) I'm guessing a lot of you haven't heard it before? Or maybe have? It's a fanmade opening for Ace Attorney and IT SLAPS SOOOO HARD. It's old but soooo good guys. Guys. Ya'll need to get in on the fan songs seriously.

I DON'T HEAR PEOPLE TALK ABOUT "TURNABOUT: THE MUSICAL" ENOUGH. Not the Random Encounters musical, but like, the actual one.

i am an unrepentant jeredrew enjoyer. i think they would make the silliest bffs possible. that lucky-slice art was soooo special to me. andrew just, of course, immediately hates kevin and jean and doesn’t trust their intentions. especially because of how they meet which i don’t know if we need to get into now... the feeling is very mutual though (and kevin is salty because in his last year of college he tried to have andrew recruited to the foxes and andrew ignored the hell out of him and followed jeremy to USC instead). the antics and dynamics are very very fun to write. jean compares what andrew is to jeremy as what neil is to kevin at one point and kevin is scandalized.

"Sunmi, no! They haven't drank like that before!" You pass them their red cups. You watch as Jungkook and Jimin make faces when they look inside the cup, Taehyung damn near gags at the smell up close and Hoseok gives his cup a little shake.

"Soooo, we can't take this in two sips or something?"

"Absolutely illegal to babysit." Sunmi smiles, obviously having the time of her life right now.

"Babysit?" Jimin repeats.

"Yeah, like taking your sweet time to finish a drink or shot."

"Ah, babysitting." Jimin says, even though he has never heard of the term before besides actually babysitting [like a child or something].

"Ready?" They all nod, making you smile. "Cheers, guys!" You and Sunmi take the shot with ease, while the four are struggling in their own ways.

Jungkook making the most sour face you have ever seen someone do.

Jimin tilting his head back against their couch, eyes closed and definitely in pain.

Taehyung gagging even more that his nose is turning red?

Hoseok is yelling at the burning sensation crawling down his chest.

"You guys okay?" Sunmi cracks up. "Another?"

"Girl, did I not just say the point of this was to pace yourself?!"

"We're in their living room, Y/N. What could possibly go wrong?"

"Pour another." Jungkook says, making Sunmi nod excitedly, in approval.

"See, your boyfriend is down. Let's do it. Besides, when it comes to Delta Chi's shit, they can get a little crazy."

"Fine, but none of you are moving. You're staying right here in this apartment." You say, pouring another shot into their cups. After this, you were gonna call it quits with the drinking, absolutely 100%. Solely because you were worried for the boys and how it was their first time drinking so intensely. And so after that shot, you place your cup on the table, ready to put your foot down—

By pouring another shot, and another, until their faces were almost painted red and they're starting to stumble all over the place.

"Oh shiiiit, the world no longer feels flat." Taehyung says drunkily, burping in the process.

"Okay!" Jimin says, sloppily standing and pointing a finger. "Dance time!"

"Look, the thing with dancing is that you need to keep it chill. Don't make it look like you're trying too hard to vibe to whatever song is playing." You agree with Sunmi silently as you sit on the couch, in between Jungkook and Jimin’s spot. Sunmi watches as Hoseok gets a little aggressive with whatever the hell he's doing with his arms right now and she stands, shaking her head. "No, no." She puts his arms down. "Less tense, just go with the flow." She begins to dance to the music, Hoseok, Jimin and Taehyung following along. "Yeah, like that!" You get up to join them with Jungkook, but they start doing their own thing, breaking off into robot-pop-like dance moves, making the both of you laugh. You all continue to dance along until a more seductive song comes on. The only person to take notice really is Jungkook and he steps back a bit, unsure of how to handle this. Do this. He was hoping none of the guys would bring it up—

"Wait, how do we dance with girls?" Taehyung says, doing some hip movements with his hands in front of him as if imagining a pretty lady dancing in front of him. "Cause I really wanna try and dance with someone at least once."

"Not.. like that. Please." Sunmi lowers his hands. "You definitely won't get that one time if that's how you come off." You're still bouncing a little on your feet, making Sunmi nod at you. "Jungkook, go grab your girl." He swallows the lump in his throat, doe eyes wider than wide. "Come on, don't be shy. I'm sure you two are planning to do much worse, if you haven’t already." Right, he thinks. He always has to remind himself that Sunmi has no idea you two are faking this. He's surprised, honestly, that his friends haven't slipped, especially being this tipsy.

"Oh, uh—okay." He scratches his head and looks at you, as if he was calling for your help through his eyes.

"Just come up behind me and put your hands on my hips. Bring me close to you." And Jungkook does what he's told, coming up behind you and gently placing his hands on your hips. He digs his fingers into them, bring you close as you work your hips against his.

"See, that was pretty good. Just keep it natural, always look at the girl and read her body language, her look, if she's willing. Don't be a fucking creep about it."

"Oh, Jungkookie! You look like a natural!" Hoseok calls out, making him step away from you to sit back down on the couch. Session over, at least for Jungkook. But fuck, he could feel himself getting hard beneath his jeans and he didn't know what the fuck to do. He wants to keep you close, dance on you, have fun with you. But he definitely didn't want his hard-on getting in the way and fucking scaring you off.

God.

Though, the unexpected happens after everyone starts dancing around again and having fun to the music. You look at him behind you, sitting silently on the couch while he watches everyone and welcome yourself onto his lap.

"Oh fuck?" He says, questioningly. Now what!? His hands are up in the air because he isn't sure if this is a mistake or if you're really willing to sit on his lap right now.

"Kook." You say, pretty tipsy yourself. "Hold onto me." You say lowly.

"Right." He says, kicking himself into boyfriend mode. You keep your eyes on him until he rests his hands on your thighs. "That okay?" You nod, but there's a look on your face that he can't necessarily read and you're fucking thriving off of it. He was cute as your fake boyfriend, and you weren't gonna lie, you loved seeing him squirm under you like this. You start to grind your hips onto him, rolling them against his crotch nicely, slowly.

"Oh my god, Jungkookie's living a dream. He's getting a lapdance from his girlfriend." Taehyung watches, making Jimin drunkily cheer him on.

Surprisingly, Jungkook grips you tighter, pressing himself tightly against you to feel all the friction. He follows your movements, the pace and fuck, is he loving every minute of it. It could be because of the alcohol, but whatever it was, he was with it. You, ontop of him, in these shorts— nice, fat ass just working him like they do in the music videos.

The song stops and goes back to a more upbeat song, making you stop and laugh at the vibe change. Jungkook feels the heat rising in his cheeks, biting onto his bottom lip to prevent himself from smiling too big at you.

"Positive." As you're about to make your way off of his lap, he holds onto your hips and presses you back down. You turn to look, seeing him shaking his head at you before leaning his head forward near your arm. "Where are you going? Can't you just sit with me for a bit?" You bite your lip and nod your head, getting yourself comfortable on his lap.

"For practice?" You tease.

"Thought you didn't need me to say that anymore." He fires back, causing heat to rise in your own cheeks due to this sudden sexual tension you’re feeling. You blame it on the alcohol. However, it doesn’t change the fact that he learns quick. For damn sure.

Okay so… I had this random idea:

Imagine that it’s a free day and everyone collectively agreed that they’ll go out. Everyone (including gojo) is waiting for yuuta and dd!r and they arrived at the same time, then everyone notices how their fits are coordinated (they didn’t discuss anything about coordinating at all).

Cue everyone teasing them, especially the menace gojo. Yuuta is blushing hard while trying to explain himself, the first years are still in shock + nobara complimenting dd!r about their choice, inumaki and panda giving them hand hearts + amused maki watching everything unfold.

They get mistaken for a couple everywhere they go since dd!r walks beside yuuta while holding unto his arm since we know that she tends to get lost while he just listen to her ramble with a smile on his face, nodding along to what she’s saying. Meanwhile, the others behind them are exasperated; they literally wanted to tell them to get married already / just kiss already !!

Bonus: Yuuta + dd!r gets a *couple’s* discount on a cafe/restaurant that they’ll be eating while the others pay the regular price. Everyone is complaining about it.

Yet somehow Yuta unlocked the ability to just match up with her vibe without even trying.

But honestly, even if they weren't matching today, anyone outside of the college will still think they are together. Playlist Passing By || Kusuo Saiki x Gn!Reader Drabble

summary: You hand Saiki a playlist and run off somewhere, as he listens to the songs he comes to a realization, your confession.

author's note: no way rené's posting omg /s anyways, I really hope I've characterized Saiki properly (〃ノ∇ノ) even with the little dialogue included in this drabble + this was inspired by my music lover Saiki hcs

☆︎ a guide to reading Saiki's dialogue; 'this sentence is false.' = Saiki thinking "this sentence is false" = Saiki speaking, using his telepathic ability ☆︎

"He knew all about how you thought of him, and it was gentler, softer, less abrasive than your other "competitors"

Throughout the school day Saiki can practically feel your near-constant stare burning through him, even without his abilities. You're giving him no chance to peek through your mind, your thoughts slowing to almost Nendo's level or racing like Akechi's.

The end of the day comes by, and you ask him to stay behind in the classroom for a few minutes. When he begrudgingly stays, he sees you struggling with your bag, and you pull out a CD pushing it into his hands and rushing out the classroom, a warmth on your face his pyrokinetic ability can sense.

He doesn't hear from you after, and he doesn't see you with the other group of his "friends" at the school gate. Upon asking Kaido says you went home to study for a few tests coming up, 'an obvious lie. but if they don't wanna talk I won't force them to.' he thinks.

As he walks home, the taste of coffee lingering in his mouth from Café Mami, he remembers about the disc. "how am I even gonna listen to it?" he says out loud to himself. Once he gets home and rummages around he promptly finds a CD player stuck behind his father's empty boxes of Gundam figurines

Thank god for the headphone jack on the CD player. As he flops down on his bed and loads it in he can hear the whirring of the disc as it spins, seeing the smiley faces and flowers you drew in marker blur. The first song fades in,

"Mrs. Magic, to and fro // Please give me one last show // Loosen my mind from within // Before it starts to wear and thin"

The instrumental of the song is peaceful, and the hazy-esque singing brings an air of drowsiness to Saiki, making him feel like he's sinking into his bed. Before he can really get into it, the song fades out and the next slides in after. Maybe the songs you loaded in the disc won't be so bad.

"...That you made with plastic power // Your rhinestone eyes are like factories far away // Here we go again // That's electric-tric-tric-tric-tric.."

An energetic song, a catchy beat and a fun chorus almost makes Saiki wanna tap his foot along to the beat. He catches every instrumental piece of the song and takes note to check the song out again.

He looks over the CD case, and sees a folded note with all the songs and what they mean to you. The same doodled flowers and smiley faces are drawn into the paper, and for a second he catches himself thinking how cute the amount of effort you put into a playlist for him— before stopping himself and focusing again on the music.

"...It will take a while // To make you smile // Somewhere in these eyes // I'm on your side"

By the third song in, Saiki digs into the meaning of the mellow songs, some of the bullet points in the notes explaining how they remind you of himself, and others thinly veiled under the guise of music recommendations. In reality, these songs all had to do in some shape or form with the concept of love or admiration.

He knew how you masked your crush on him with the thoughts of a close friendship, how your body would unnaturally tense when you reprimanded yourself for your wandering mind and when you yearned a little too much. He knew all about how you thought of him, and it was gentler, softer, less abrasive than your other "competitors"

As he lay, the sun setting over the suburban neighborhood. The songs still played. And he kept thinking about it all, why all the songs you had burned onto the disc made him feel nauseous (in a good way?) when he connected their meaning to you. He let out a sigh and shifted, letting a song ring out into the emptiness of his room, Disconnecting the headphones and putting them down somewhere on his bed.

"...While the others talk // We were listening to lovers rock // In her bedroom, in her bedroom // And if you start to kiss // And the record skips // Flip it over and sit a little closer"

Alright, maybe his imagination wandered when this specific song played. The thought of you playfully teasing him after a party, tipsy and happy, being teenagers and fooling around made Saiki feel what he thought he never would've.

Saiki was alright with your attraction to him, how you would think about inching closer to him but holding back knowing he liked his space. When you would invite him to study at Café Mami but ordering dessert instead and make small talk. Your uncanny way of knowing when he needed to de-stress and get away from it all after dealing with your chaotic friend group, dragging him off with a white lie and sharing assorted candies that you now carried in your bag after finding out he was practically addicted to sugar.

Maybe you weren't so bad to hang around, and Saiki would finally admit to himself that he genuinely enjoyed your company.

As much as Tsukishima would lowkey HATE the way you always wanna make friends (not really he just likes being a shithead) he also just finds it so cute??? Like he’s like 🙄✋🏼 must you talk to everyone?? But is also like :) shes so friendly and tries so hard to be nice :) how did I find someone like her :) but he keeps that on the lowkey a bit and GOD LET ANYONE BE RUDE TO YOU WHEN HE SEES YOU AS AN ABSOLUTE ANGEL‼️‼️‼️

Tsukishima is also focused on his studies and would appreciate you being focused as well, he would hate to see you over stressed from the importance your parents put on it, and he’d always be doing/saying things to get you to relax as best as he could

So like I was saying, not a big talker, but I feel like complete silence would freak him out?? This mf always got his headphones so one of you has got to be playing music while you’re studying, but do you know what this means?

This means that a song has definitely come on that he likes and he totally was humming or even quietly singing along to himself, not really thinking about the fact you were there and can definitely hear him, and as soon as he realizes he would just look at you and shut up SO fast LMAO

Like he’d just get wide eyed and breath in and stop singing and just kind of look up at you AND HIS EARS WOULD BE SO RED (he’s an ear blusher for sure) and he’d do that WHITE BOY SMILE THING WHERE HE HAS DEAD EYES AND HIS MOUTHS A THIN LINE but he’d look so shy and embarrassed plssss and he’d just look back down to his textbook and try not to think about it

And you’d just giggle and he could only groan and be like “let’s move on 😐” BUT YOURE DEFINITELY NOT FORGETTING THAT

But study dates?? Yeah they’re important to you two

Tsukishima would also be constantly making sure you’re taking care of yourself outside of studying, like making sure you’re needs are taken care of since you have a tendency to over look them in the favor of others (which I feel like would really drive him crazy cause you’re his baby!!! He can’t stand that thought !!!)

Like if he saw you offer a friend your last snack knowing you hadn’t eaten enough today he’s slapping a snack in your possession so fast like 😐 eat this, now.

The bullying??? Yes he’d love that cause he’s just like 😳‼️ you keep up with him and he’d just love the back and forth between you two so much

Regarding your stims - he’d definitely take notice and probably do things like always holding your hand to make sure you aren’t hurting yourself too bad!

I know people have mentioned him not being that big on PDA but I feel like he’d take a neutral stance on it, like holding your hand is so innocent and if it helps you not pinch your wrists or picking at your nails of course he’s gonna do it!! It’s his way of showing you he notices and cares 🖤

5. Kiss Like A Woman - Mona: ok but once Tsuki accepts he’s got it bad, I don’t see him as someone who wastes time at. All. Like he’s like ok well she’s fucking great obviously if I like her cause I have great taste so it’s only a matter of time before someone else tries to get her attention, so I gotta act fast. However, he’s clueless so he’d think he’s being obvious but he’s not. Like he starts his habit of bringing you snacks and water on your study dates before they’re actually dates and you have no idea he likes you. And he thinks he’s being smooth like, how could you not know he likes you? But it’d be the end of your study session and you’re about to leave and he’s been wondering why it seems like maybe you’re not interested? He can’t tell so he’d just be like, “do you like me, too? Or am I making you uncomfortable? I’ve been waiting for you to let me know how you feel but you really haven’t said anything, so.” AND YOUD JUST BE LOOKING AT HIM LIKE 😳🧍🏻‍♀️ and you’re blushing hard so he’s like ok obviously she likes me? And he would kind of tilt his head in your direction and raise his eyebrows waiting for you to answer, cause he still wants to be sure. And you’d hold your books tighter to your chest and nod so fast. He’d walk over to you and kiss you on your cheek and be all, “see you tomorrow, idiot.” And walk off like a bad bitch, cause that was pretty smooth, but once his back is to you and his headphones are on while he’s walking away BOY IS BLUSHING HARDDDD CAUSE HE’S LIKE did I really just do that oh shit 🥴

6. A Sunday Kind Of Love - Etta James: when I mentioned Tsuki liked to think about love this is exactly what I mean. He just wants something so relaxed and devoted and when he gets that with you? WHEW he is not letting that go!!

7. Black Dog - Arlo Parks: ok so this song itself is more intense than for what I’m writing for it and what it inspired me BUT this is really how Tsuki feels when he sees you overworking yourself. He can’t stand to see you stress so much over something, especially if it’s school, and then see you push your own limits in the favor of others. It’d definitely be a day where you come to his house to study but when you guys get there instead of pulling out the stuff from his bag he just sets it down and walks over to you and pulls you into his chest. After holding you for a while, he pulls back and makes you look up at him with his hands on your cheeks and leans down to kiss your forehead. “Are you ok?” It’s such a simple question but it really hits home and it’s one of the first times you guys simultaneously realize how much you care for each other. And you’d just hug him tighter and he decides nap time holds a little priority over studying right now.

8. come out and play - Billie Eilish: as smooth as Tsukishima can be or as clueless as he is, he’s also a shy lover for sure. It will take him a while to be genuinely soft and let his walls down and be vulnerable and tell you how much he cares about you, he try’s to show it as best as he can cause it can be easier than looking into your pretty eyes that make him all nervous and choke on his words while he tries to tell you he loves you. So it’ll take some coaxing and you being patient, but he’ll get there eventually and become more confident with his declarations of love.

9. Pleaser - Wallows: more on Tsuki being shy LMAO he wants to tell you he loves you SO BAD but he just cannot make himself do it

10. I’m Glad There Is You - Julie London: ok you mentioned slow dancing in the kitchen type songs? Stop it this is the one - to me this is the introvert love anthem , perfect for you two right? Like you’d be playing music in the kitchen while you two are cooking and this song would come on and normally he’s not a person who shows his affection much but this song would just get to him? Like he almost wants to cry??? He just looks at you, and maybe you’re humming a little, he really can’t tell but he doesn’t care cause you’re just so bright and gorgeous and the more he hears the song, the more his heart is starting to swell thinking of you. And so he wouldn’t be able to help himself. He’d just come up behind you and lean down so his head his resting on top of yours and his arms are wrapped around you. He leans down a little farther and presses a soft but long kiss to your cheek and just whispers how he loves you and hugs you tight one more time before going back to his part of cooking dinner; as if that wasn’t the first time he was finally able to tell you that.

11. Linger In My Arms A Little Longer Baby - Peggy Lee: kitchen dancing music kitchen dancing music kitchen dancing music !! I feel like once Tsuki dances with you ONCE he’d be addicted 😶 like you just look so happy and it hits him in his gut in the best way and he’d kill to feel like that with you again 🖤

12. Sweet Creature - Harry Styles: stop I fucking love Harry styles when I say Tsuki sees you as his home I MEAN it, it doesn’t matter what happens between you two. Sure, like any couple you guys argue and it can be rough sometimes, problems can arise it’s natural. But Tsukishima would never be the type to say something he doesn’t mean or do anything to ruin the relationship, you’re his person and no matter how much you two argue he’d always be sure you know he loves you and you’re the most important thing to him, and you’re very aware of that.

13. I Think I Like It When It Rains - Willis: ok a little bit of angst! In those difficult moments, sure sometimes Tsuki does wish it was like how it was a while ago when the pining and awkwardness was still there and you would go home after studying and you’d both still be giddy and trying to calm yourselves down. Cause the pining and awkward feelings were easy to solve, but these problems are harder, they’re the ones you solve for the long haul. But once he takes a breather he knows this is so much more important and worth it, and he’s reminded of how much he really loves you.

14. I CHOOSE YOU - Adam Melchor: you really would be living in Tsukis mind rent free LMAO and while he was all grumpy at first at the fact he even wanted your attention he’s so happy now it’s so cute pls. He goes to the store and sees something you like?? Yeah he’s buying it. Hears a song you might like? He adds it to the playlist you guys share (yes you would have one from when you would study together all the time and you’ve just kept it and he always add songs to it still for you) all in all, you take up his mind 25/8 now and he’s accepted it with a smile on his face

15. this is how you fall in love - Jeremy Zucker, Chelsea Cutler: introvert love anthem #2, this is literally so cheesy and I hope it fits your taste but anyways!! Falling in love is just so easy for you guys, it’s the easiest thing Tsuki’s ever done, and he holds a lot of pride to that statement.

omg hi!! this is going to be really long I’m so sorry... I vaguely broke them up by book and sorta character/event/theme, it’s not super strict or anything but that was the logic!

I've made Spotify playlists inspired by each of the ghosts and I've made these little written pieces to talk about them. if you wanna read them, please go ahead - if not then enjoy the music!!

This is Robin's playlist:

Somebody Told Me - The Killers

Robin is a stadium rock kinda guy, I guarantee you that. I’ve said this before multiple times but I love the idea of Alison trying to find music for all the ghosts that she things they’d like and he’d totally like music where he could watch gigs and festivals of people just going mental and jumping about. (I have actually written a fic here about Robin having watched stadium rock so yeah, go read that if you’d like!)

Starman - David Bowie

I feel like this is obvious cause space boy but also I interpret the song as being about the idea of accepting change. The Starman sits above Earth and knows things that “will blow our minds”, they understand more than humans do or ever could know much like Robin who has seen more than can be imagined and is wise beyond his time.

The Universal - Blur

This song encapsulates the two primary things I drew from in making Robin’s playlist which are space and the passage of time. But yeah, it’s kinda a sci-fi-esque song that I think is quite fitting. I’ve also seen a lot of discusison about how it’s a commentary on the downfall of society under the epidemic of believing everything you read which is like conspiracy theory Robin talking about the moon landing not happening and the Earth being flat.

Space Oddity - David Bowie

Just the image of Robin as a spaceman makes me happy, I saw some fanart of the ghosts in the outfits they described at clothes club and the one of Robin was so good!! (They are all great but that one in particular is super cute). If I can find it then I’ll link it here.

Spaceman - The Killers

Again, space vibes. Not writing much for this one because it’s self explanatory but also I’m writing this while listening the playlist through and I’m still searching for the fanart from the previous song XD

Run Boy Run - Woodkid

(Found the art) That scene where Robin is running through the woods to fetch Barclay in BitN always reminds me of this song because of like the fast pace and the way it would nicely meld with his like stompy running through the woods.

Starlight - Muse

Actually not chosen for the space theme (although it helps). Basically just the idea of being so far away from those you love, I feel like it goes so underappreciated that Robin is not a few centuries or even just a handful of deacdes away from his life like all the others but he is literally MILLENIA from his family and community. He must miss them so much, I think the whole “everything comes, everything go, but moonah always there” (not a quote cause I only have until the song finishes and can’t to search for the correct line) really indicates just how lonely he must be after literally thousands of year. He spent ~40,000 alone before even Humphrey turned up???

Carry Me Home - The Killers

See above answer but add in the idea of not really belonging where you are, like I said he’s 1000s of years older than anyone else and is way more out of his time than anyone else.

Dark Side - Blind Channel

This would obviously be one of his favourites from this years Eurovision so I had to include it, again I just think he’d really like energetic music so I think it’s a good call.

Baby You’re a Haunted House - Gerard Way

I wanted to include this song in someone’s playlist because, well it’s obvious, but I think it’s a pretty decent song. But yeah, I settled on Robin because of the lyrics focussing on like having to be happy and positive in love while dealing with trauma and inner demons and stuff and I think that’s potentially very Robin cause of the fact he’s been at the house for years and watched everything come and go. He’s positive and upbeat despite the obvious trauma he’s experienced.

Love Illumination - Franz Ferdinand

Basically thought to be about the idea that destruction and boredom is all around us so we look towards things that make us happy and spark love to distract from that. (According to Wikipedia) Alex Kapranos said that he would look to the bright lights of Blackpool for that love - the idea of light and illumination being important to Robin’s distraction and boredom-aliviation in the afterlife.

The Whole of the Moon - The Waterboys

Space boy space boy space boy. Kinda about the idea of somebody seeing and understanding more than others… obvious but yeah I really like the song and am very fixated on Robin’s process of growing into a world that is so unnatural to him but picking up on modern ideas through his time.

Ghosting - Mother Mother

I felt the need to include this for someone so after much debate settled on Robin cause he’s been there for so long and it’s just a nice vibe for him.

Kidz - Take That

I know this is about protest and uprising etc but I think the idea of questioning authority and the very concept of reality and looking to turn things upside down fits nicely with Robin’s loves of conspiracy theories and his unwillingness to accept things straight off but instead question everything he sees.

Cities In Dust - Siouxsie and the Banshees

This is one of my favourite Siouxsie songs: it’s about the destruction of Pompeii and I again think that’s very Robin because, like I said, he’s experienced the destruction of everything around him. Obviously on a completely different level to the fall of Pompeii and over a long period of time but everything he once knew lies in dust but he can’t escape what the world is like now.

Teenage Kicks - The Undertones

It’s just a punk anthem and just a classic, you know?? I have no further explanation but I dare you to tell me this is not a Robin song XD

Across The Universe - The Beatles

It’s not particularly about space or the universe but the vibe is good and the line “nothing’s gonna change my world” is open to my interpretation as being like holding on to the past while watching things outside your control change.

Fly Me to the Moon - Joytastic Sarah & YungRhythm

This is an obvious choice, clearly, but I wanted to include this version because it’s more modern and more representative of Robin’s acceptance of the new world and new ideas.

20th Century Boy - T. Rex

The meaning of this song are very much up for debate, I’ve never been able to interpret it I don’t think. But it just gave me Robin vibes, maybe it’s because of the modern pop culture references which make me think of someone kinda out of their time picking up modern ideas and kind of regurgitating it - much like Robin’s instant believing of conspiracy theories etc.

Apeman - The Kinks

Obvious but yeah, caveman. Kinda nostalgic for simpler times as it lists like tons of things that are shit about todays world (nuclear war, inflation, over population) and how much easier it would be to live in a society without those things - things Robin has grown up into rather unnaturally.
