Episode 5 is hard for me to judge. I rarely enjoy zombie fiction, to be honest. It's too dark and cynical for me, and I often find myself disagreeing with the genre on both the literal and metaphoric levels. I don't agree with what these stories often think would happen if zombies existed, and I super don't agree with the messages these stories are often trying to make about the nature of humanity.
As a brand, zombies aren't for me, and that heavily influences my enjoyment of the Marvel Zombies episode.
But you know what I do like? When characters who aren't headliners get attention. I said this back in episode 1, but a lot of the fun with What If? type of stories is the ability to let the main stars take a backseat to supporting cast that don't get to carry their own stories very often.
We've got Peter Parker and Bruce Banner here, but we also have Sharon Carter, Bucky Barnes, Okoye, Hope Pym, and my personal favorite inclusion, Kurt aka one of those guys, you know the guys, who knows their names but you know the guys from Scott Lang and Luis's ex-con posse.
I'm not here for the zombies but I am here for the supporting cast getting promoted to ensemble starring roles, so let's go.

A Cure For The Plague
Summary: The survivors of the zombie apocalypse hear of somewhere that may have found a cure.
 Written for: @buckybarnesbingo
 Words: 2354
Square Filled: Y3- What Doesn’t Kill Me Makes Me Mad
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Female Reader
Warnings: Horror themes, angst, mentions of character deaths
A/N: Set in the What If… Zombies?! Episode but written slightly differently. Also be prepared for some zombie/ horror related media references.
Ever since the zombie apocalypse began, people frantically searching for a cure. What was left of the Avengers heard about a breakthrough and headed to a facility upstate by the river. Sadly, they lost friends along the way but maybe there was a chance to bring them back if this rumour of a cure was true. The closer they got to their destination, the more it resembled a jungle.
The group of survivors cautiously made their way off the train having to make it into the jungle on foot. Bruce carried Hope as she grew progressively weaker. Okoye’s hands were tight around her spear and Bucky’s finger was on the trigger of his gun ready to shoot at anything that moved, his other hand holding up the shield ready to protect. Peter and Kurt were on edge, flinching at any sound. The air had the stench of decay, stagnant water and something chemical.
“You don’t think there are any giant mutant vampire mosquitos around here that will suck out all our blood, do you?” Peter wondered out loud.
 “Not now!” Okoye hissed.
 “But…”
“Guys, Hope’s not doing so good. We need to get her inside as soon as possible,” Bruce interrupted.
Before anyone else could speak, a zombie jumped out the water and attacked. Bucky and Okoye were ready to defend but neither got the chance as the zombie was wrapped in vines and dragged to the gaping maw of the biggest Venus fly traps they had ever seen.
“It’s like that thing out of plumber brothers!” Kurt cried.
 “What the -”
 “Move, Parker!” Bucky ordered.
A hoard of zombies started creeping in. Bucky and Okoye held them off but to their surprise, the vegetation around them started attacking the zombies too, picking them off as fast as they were going down. Someone in a hazmat suit ran out of the building towards the group.
 “This way!” she ordered.
They followed the woman to an elevator, all cramming in. The ride down was full of tension.
“Can you help? She’s been infected,” Bruce explained.
“How long ago?” the woman asked.
 “About five minutes…”
 “Has she died yet?”
 “Not yet.”
“There may still be time… We have to hurry.”
Once they had reached the ground floor, she ushered them into the lab.
 “Cain! Conners! We got something!”
Two men came running to assist, taking Hope into another room and hooking her up to machines to check her vitals. One of the men tilted her head to the side and filled a syringe with some kind of fluid.
 “Let’s try 15ccs…”
The team watched as he injected the fluid into the base of her skull.
“Now all we can do is wait…”
The scientists instructed the team to wait outside as they locked the door and monitored from a distance. Every second that ticked by felt like an eternity. The EKG beeped with every beat of Hope’s heart… until it went into one continuous beep. Bucky placed a comforting hand on Peter’s shoulder as the boy tried not to fall to pieces.
“Give it another minute. If she doesn’t respond, you know what to do,” the woman instructed.
They waited with bated breath when suddenly, the steady beat returned. Hope began to move.
“What… where am I? What happened?” she groggily asked.
The three scientists cheered with the success of their experiment.
“We’ll run observations, you take them to quarantine,” one of the men instructed the woman.
 She nodded and headed off.
 “Follow me.”
The group followed her to the quarantine station where they were sanitised and had their vitals checked. Once they were given the all clear, they could be reunited with Hope and formally introduced to the people that had saved her life.
“I’m Doctor Y/N L/N, and these are my associates, Doctor Curt Connors and Doctor Dan Cain. We were giving lectures in a nearby university when the virus hit. With my work in botany and plant stem cells, Connors’ work in herpetology and regeneration cells combined with Cain’s work in neurosurgery and neuroscience, we were able to come up with a cure. I also developed the plants out there to protect us…”
The group all introduced themselves to the three doctors who then took them to the rest of the survivors who were mostly students and faculty from the university along with a few others. There Okoye was reunited with King T’Challa and Hope was reunited with Scott, albeit as a disembodied head. The scientists explained their earlier experiments were still in their infancy but they at least had some success.
“I tried to tell them about that movie where the guy brings back the dead but who would believe a talking head? I should get a job in a sideshow,” Scott laughed. “Sorry. I tend to process traumatic events by joking.”
“You know, I could probably regrow that arm of yours,” Connors stated, looking at Bucky’s metal arm.
“I don’t think so,” Bucky replied, tensing up.
“You sure? We’ve made some remarkable progress,” Connors said, wiggling the fingers of his right hand.
“Connors, leave him be. If he’s fine the way he is, then he’s fine. Not everyone needs to have their limbs regrown,” you interjected.
“Suit yourself,” he shrugged, walking off to talk with Peter.
As it turned out, Connors had given a few talks at Peter’s school.
“Thanks for that,” Bucky softly smiled at you.
“You’re welcome. For the record, I think you look great the way you are,” you smiled back.
“Hey, any chance we can look around this place?” Bruce asked, interrupting your moment.
 “Sure. Right this way.”
You showed the newcomers around the base which was built to be a bunker during the cold war era but was never used. There were still tunnels running all over the city which was convenient to avoid the zombies up top. You showed them the gardens, both the vegetable and defensive plant ones and explained to them about the complicated Haber-Bosch system that allowed you to grow plants in such a short amount of time. That was one benefit of having a group of mostly academics. The scientific minds of the newcomers understood but Bucky was a little lost. Then you took them to the site of your greatest failure so far. Contained behind glass was a zombie dressed in a red and black suit. When it saw you coming closer, it pressed itself up against the glass and licked it. Bucky turned his nose up in disgust.
“This was Wade Wilson. We thought his regenerative powers could be the key into creating the cure but instead, they somehow mutated and now we’re stuck with a zombie that can’t and won’t die. We can’t even mulch him like the others…”
“Wait a minute, you have been turning people into plant food?! That is so messed up! You don’t just feed people to plants unless maybe they’re wifebeaters!” Kurt shouted.
Bucky watched as you tensed up.
“You are in no position to judge me; to judge us. I watched some of my closest friends die. Dan had to watch his girlfriend be violently attacked. Curt had his arm torn off. We have had to make decisions that nobody should have to make… the tour ends here,” you calmly stated, trying not to let all your rage boil over.
You were shaking and your eyes shone with unshed tears. You turned and walked away before you let them see you become emotional. Bucky took one last look at the zombie licking the glass before following you.
He found you tending to your arsenal of plants. You gently spoke to them as you sprayed them with a fertilizer.
“What a good little triffid you are. Soon you’ll be big enough to go out and protect us from those nasty zombies. Yes you will,” you cooed.
 “Hey,” Bucky gently greeted.
“Oh, hello. Come to judge me like your friend?” you bitterly replied.
“I’m not here to judge you and he’s not really my friend… I just came to see if you wanted some company…”
You shrugged and continued tending to the seedlings.
“For what it’s worth, I do know what it’s like to make those tough decisions. I’ve had to take out some of my really good friends. You want to hold back because this thing has the face of someone you once cared about but you also have to remember, this thing isn’t them anymore and it won’t hold back if it gets you first…”
Bucky thought about Steve and Sam. They didn’t deserve to go the way they did and it certainly wasn’t fair that he was the one who had to face them.
You turned to look at him and saw the honesty and anguish on his face. With a kind smile, you gently placed your hand on his arm.
“Do you want to help me tend the garden? I find it can be very cathartic…” you offered.
 “I think I’d like that…”
For the next few weeks, Bucky helped you to tend the garden finding he had quite a knack for horticulture while also working with the other survivors to help strengthen the base. He also spent as much time as he could with you, learning everything about you. Bucky could really feel himself falling for you.
With a few recon missions, more survivors were found and brought back and with each successful person brought back, you were one step closer to curing this infernal disease.
 Then disaster struck.
It was the middle of the night when there was a huge commotion. Bucky woke up, instinctively grabbing his gun and shield as chaos erupted.
 “Wilson’s escaped!”
Bucky ran to the containment unit to confront the zombie Deadpool. Unfortunately, he had bitten a few of the survivors which were fast approaching. Okoye and T’Challa stepped in to fight off the incoming wave, holding them off while Bucky went one on one with Deadpool. Wade was just as skilled at fighting as he was when he was alive, making him a difficult opponent. He snapped at Bucky, his jaws biting down on his metal arm.
 “Hey, Wade!” you called.
The zombified merc with the mouth stopped to look at you. You were holding up something that was wet and red.
 “Come and get the chimichanga!”
Wade stopped, his mouth curling up to something that resembled a smile.
“Ah… Brains…” he gurgled, running after you.
 “Did he just…?”
You ran as fast as you could to avoid getting attacked by Wade and once you reached the glass cage, you threw the thing into it with a wet smack. Wade gleefully pounced on it and once he was in, you locked the door behind him.
“Did you really just happen to have a brain on hand to give to him just in case?” Bucky asked, seeing you had the situation under control.
“Of course not… it was a red dyed cauliflower. He can’t even tell the difference,” you panted.
“You can’t keep him in here anymore. It’s too dangerous now,” Bucky stated.
“I know… But what else can we do? He literally can’t die and we can’t let him loose on the rest of the world. We’ve already tried curing him once but the virus mutates and he becomes a zombie again…”
“Have you tried it with just his head? I mean, you’ve come so far in your research, maybe there’s something to it…”
Bucky’s words made you think. Wade did still seem to have some cognitive recognition and there were a few times he responded to the reagent.
 “That… might just work…”
You went with Bucky to tell your co-workers the idea.
With Bucky’s help, you were able to lure Wade to the lab with a trail of cauliflowers. You strapped him down and used the same process you did to remove Scott’s head and placed it in a jar, carefully adding the reagent to it. Starting with small doses first, you gradually added a little more each time until finally, he was normal again. Well, normal as he could get.
“Hey, you got any brains to eat? I’m starving!” he laughed. “I’m kidding. Sort of. I won’t let it go to my head though!”
“And now there’s two of them,” Bucky grumbled.
“Don’t worry about it,” you smiled, going to tend to your garden again.
 Bucky once again followed.
“Y/N, I’ve been meaning to ask you something…”
“Yes?” you hummed, carefully repotting a large sundew.
“What… what is your relationship with those two guys you’ve been working with?”
 “My colleagues?”
“Yeah… are you… dating either of them?”
“No. Dan had a girlfriend when this all started happening and is still not over her death and Curt… well, let’s just say he’s not my type…”
 “What… what is your type?”
You wiped your hands on your pants legs and walked over to him.
 “I like a guy who’s tall… strong… protective… has a gorgeous head of hair…”
 “I see…”
“Do you really?” you asked, placing your hands on his chest.
“I… I know this isn’t the most ideal place but… I’d really like to start dating you…”
 “I’d like that too, Bucky…”
“Could I… kiss you?” he softly asked.
 “Of course…”
As Bucky pressed his lips to yours, you felt the most alive since the apocalypse started.
In the days that followed, you and Bucky started dating the best you could given the circumstances. The world was still in a hot mess but as long as you had each other, you felt like you could survive anything. Maybe one day with all the progress you had been making, you could finally be rid of the virus that infected the earth.

Wԋαƚ Iϝ Iƚ’ʂ Uʂ?
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x GN!Reader
Summary: After an incident involving the Quantum Realm brings forth the Zombie Apocalypse, you are forced to comprise a team of survivors to reach Wakanda, the only human sanctuary left. But is the apocalypse really a great time to develop feelings for a Super Soldier?
Warnings: Themes of death, hurt/comfort, angst. Side/main character death?? (Not Bucky or Reader) Fire, violence. Let me know if I need to tag anything else!
Note: This very loosely follows the relative idea of the What If..? episode. Thank you to @buckylattes for sending me this idea!
---------------------------------------------
“This is day forty-nine since the apocalypse started. And Bucky and I may be the last survivors in the United States.”
-------------
The sound of the leaves crunching under your feet filled the warm and crisp air as you trudged through the forest. Occasionally, a gentle breeze would blow through the air, which felt quite nice in comparison to the autumn warmth.
"So..Steve and Tony got in some kind of fight?" Bruce stuttered out, breaking the silence.
"Yep." You confirmed.
"And..the Avengers broke up? Like One Direction?"
"Yep."
“And then got back together?”
“Uh-huh.”
"And there are zombies now?"
"Seems like it." You sighed.
“And the Avengers are zombies, too?”
“Dr. Banner.” Okoye chided.
“Sorry, sorry. It’s just—y’know, it’s—“
“Weird?” Peter Parker guessed, smiling softly. “Yeah. We know.”
You frowned at the kid’s statement. You, Bucky, and Peter were the only Avengers on Earth to not be affected. Or at least, to your knowledge.
“Go find the kid. We’re..we’re gonna need all the help we can get.” Tony had mumbled to you. Steve nodded, pursing his lips.
“I’ll call Kate and Yelena,” Clint said, looking at Natasha. Wanda grasped Vision’s hand, looking up at him anxiously.
“Anyone know how to get in touch with Thor?” Steve looked up from his feet, arms crossed.
“That’s a negative, Captain Rogers.” Vision’s voice was smooth and neutral. “Mr. Odinson does not have a communication device to contact us.”
You gave Bucky’s right shoulder a friendly and comforting squeeze before you walked out of the room. You knew Peter’s address, you’d visited his apartment before with Tony.
Before you knew it, Earth was basically gone. That was over a month ago. You’d quickly found fellow survivors and made somewhat of a team with them. Peter, Bucky, Okoye, some guy named Kurt, Sharon Carter, you, and John Walker. And now, Bruce Banner.
“We need to find a base,” Bucky said, just loud enough to be heard.
“Sergeant Barnes is correct.” Okoye agreed. “Nightfall is approaching.”
“Pete, where’s that camera thingy you recorded your video on?” You asked, looking back at him. He’d made a little movie on how to survive the apocalypse soon after you’d saved him from the hoard of zombies outside of his apartment. It was a cute video, though the circumstances weren’t exactly great, or even good. It would’ve made a good school project, though.
Part of it was about hygiene, and Bucky starred in that section, albeit unwillingly. Bucky hadn’t said anything, but you could see the discomfort on his face when Peter showed you all the finished product. Bucky had been in the shower, rotated in a way where you luckily couldn’t see anything. He’d been ambushed by Peter and Kurt, the latter being lifted off the ground by his own neck, which had Bucky’s metal fingers wrapped around it. In private, Bucky had hinted that he was uncomfortable with the clip, and you’d gone to talk to Peter about it without saying anything.
You’d explained to him that ambushing anybody, but especially a Super Soldier—particularly a traumatized one who also happened to be a veteran—in the shower was not cool. Peter had apologized profusely, going back and removing the clip. You’d asked him not to say anything to Bucky, knowing that Bucky wouldn’t have wanted attention to be brought to it.
You could tell by the way Bucky’s eyes flicked to you when Peter showed the clip to Bruce that he’d noticed.
“Oh—uh—here.” He said, pulling the small camera from a pocket before tossing it to you. You caught it with ease. The apocalypse was no place for a lack of hand-eye coordination. You tucked it in the front pocket of your backpack.
“Won’t that thing run out of battery?” Bruce questioned, and you chuckled. “No. Peter and Stark made it a while back. It runs on an extremely tiny arc reactor. I’ve been keeping logs of every day—sometimes twice a day—since two days after the apocalypse started. So..yeah.” Sometimes others would make them, but none were as detailed or formal as yours.
“Jesus Christ," Bruce mumbled out. "Oh. I just realized--I haven't properly met most of you. I'm Bruce." He stuttered, picking at his fingernails.
"John Walker, Captain America." The annoying blonde spoke up. You were surprised he hadn't already shoved that fact down Bruce's throat yet. Normally, he wouldn't shut his mouth.
"I'm sorry--what?" Bruce looked at you, brows furrowed, wanting to see if you were agreeing or not.
"Turns out the government really doesn't like their favorite child going against 117 countries. So they gave the title--and a non-vibranium dupe of the shield--to this asshole." You explained, rolling your eyes.
"Right.." Bruce processed. John looked like he was going to say something, before Bucky shot him a glare, silencing him.
"I'm Sharon Carter. Former SHIELD agent." Sharon introduced herself, and Bruce smiled at her. Peter, Okoye, Kurt, and even Bucky introduced themselves, but you mainly focused on choosing where to go.
For some reason, you ended up being the 'leader' of the group. Maybe it was because you found everybody, maybe it was because you were the one who'd been an official Avenger the longest.
"Where are we going?" Bruce questioned. He'd followed you and the rest of the group into the woods.
"Well, the end goal is Wakanda. Right now, we're somewhere in New York. Phones don't work, and we come across maps every so often. Unfortunately, it's not like people posted map-selling stands in the middle of forests. Public spaces aren't the best places to be anymore." You spun around to look at everyone, walking backward.
"Wakanda may be the last human sanctuary on Earth." Okoye filled him in. "Our force fields would prevent the..undead from ever reaching our people."
"You sure did pick an odd time to visit the States," Bruce noted.
"I swore an oath. My king disappeared along with the Avengers." She replied.
"Right." Bruce exhaled.
"There should be an old Avengers safehouse up ahead. We stayed there after that one mission in February last year." You nudged Bucky with your shoulder as he caught up to you. He nodded slightly, chewing on his bottom lip.
"You okay?" You lowered your voice, trying to at least make the conversation slightly private. He glanced at you, before giving you the smallest of shrugs.
"Come on, it should only be a little farther." You called over your shoulder, beginning to pick up the pace. The sun was going to set soon, and night was not a time to potentially fight zombies.
You breathed out a sigh of relief when you could finally see the safehouse in the distance. It was a cabin in the middle of the woods, which made it a great place to stay in an apocalypse, at least for a little while.
"There's two bedrooms, two bathrooms." You announced. You put the code into the tiny pad by the door, before stepping inside.
You let out a sigh as you set your backpack on the floor against the couch. Everyone else followed suit, John and Peter sitting on opposite ends of the old couch.
Deciding to raid the pantry and see what you had, you rubbed your hands on your face. You'd risked it and went to a grocery store a few days ago, all of you filling your bags with as many non-perishable food items as you could.
"Okay, there's peanut butter, canned corn, some dried fruit, rice, bottled water, some trail mix packs, and canned..pineapple." You listed off. "And then whatever we're carrying."
"You wanna go through it all?" Sharon asked, and you shrugged. "Not really. I'm fucking exhausted." You held your forehead in your hand, closing your eyes.
"I can do it if you want." She offered, and you nodded. "Okay. Thanks, Sharon. I'm going to shower." You told her, opening your eyes and lifting your head up.
"You should take one of the beds. No offense, but you look like you need it." She smiles slightly, and you groan. "Wow, thanks. And I'll be fine. One of you should take it."
"Y/n, take the damn bed. Share if you want. But you're sleeping in a bed tonight." She decides, and you're too tired to argue with her. You accept your defeat and sigh. "Fine."
"Wonderful. You and Bucky can share that room. Okoye and I will take the other one, and Peter can take the couch. Kurt, Bruce, and Walker will be fine on the carpet." She assured.
“How’s your leg?” She’d injured herself yesterday, falling from the roof of a one-story building.
“Hurts like a bitch, but I’ll be fine. And don’t try and distract me. Go shower.” She smiled at the end. It reminded you of Natasha, in a way. You missed Natasha dearly.
"Okay." You agreed finally, taking out any food you had in your bag before taking it to the bathroom with you. You had a few outfits, just enough for maybe three or four days, and then a pair of shorts and a tank top to sleep in. You could stretch that to a week and a half if you felt clean enough to not wash your clothes.
You showered quickly before getting dressed in your shorts and tank top, walking into a bedroom.
Bucky sat on the bed, messing with his dog tags. His hair was wet.
“How was your shower?” You attempted to strike up a conversation. He shrugged in response, clearly tired.
“Did Sharon finish seeing what food we have?”
“Yeah.” He bit his lip, looking down at his hands. “Do you think he’s alive?”
You nearly asked who ‘he’ was, but after a second you figured it out. “I..don’t know, Bucky. But Steve’s strong. You and I both know that.”
He nodded, but it was clear that he wasn’t convinced. You pulled back the covers of the bed, before laying down.
“C’mere.” You said, the only light in the room was the tiny lamp that barely worked. You made room for him in your arms. Though you and Bucky weren’t anything more than friends, you’d gotten used to sleeping like this. It helped a little, in more ways than one. It helped him with his nightmares, and it helped with your anxiety.
He rested his head against your chest, draping his right arm over you.
The two of you fell asleep like that, comfortable in each other’s embrace.
Until Bucky started mumbling something, waking you up. “What the hell..” You grumbled before you realized what was happening. Right before he started screaming himself awake, you shook him.
His eyes flew open and he gasped, gripping your shoulders tightly. You waited for him to realize that he was safe and that the ‘danger’ was gone. His eyes began to water, though he tried to blink away the tears.
“Hey, hey. It’s okay. You’re safe. Promise.” You reassured him. He let himself calm down, exhaling slowly.
“Good job. Do you..want to talk about it?”
He looked at you, unsure. “Not much to talk about.”
“I’ll always listen. You know that.”
“I wasn’t there for him.” He confessed, eyes watering again. “Steve. I didn’t..I couldn’t..” He reached for his face, wiping at his eyes.
“Bucky, none of that was your fault. None of this is your fault at all. You didn’t start the fucking apocalypse.” You began to rub soothing circles into his back.
“All I had to do was shoot.” He made eye contact with you. Your heart burned at the sight of his pink nose and teary eyes.
You didn’t really know what to say. In theory, you could say the perfect thing that comforts him immediately. But the truth is that whenever you’re actually in a situation like that, all of that stuff goes right out the window.
“Close your eyes. Okay? I know this stuff hurts, but you really do need rest.” Your mind went back to Natasha.
He nodded finally, closing his eyes. You did the same.
It was the smell of burning wood that woke you up.
You blinked yourself awake, eyes stinging from the smoke. You gasped, choking on air as you took in your surroundings. The room was on fire. You shook Bucky awake, and he took a second to register what was happening.
“Shit!” He exclaimed, kicking the blankets off the two of you.
Without thinking, he busted down the bedroom door, revealing the slightly less burning living room. Peter’s face was the first one you saw, and you raced to him. “We have to get out of here!” You screamed over the sound of rooms collapsing.
“There’s hordes of them out there!” He shouted back, clutching your arms.
“The Spider-Child is right!” Okoye called to you as she threw Sharon’s arm over her shoulder, supporting the blonde’s weight.
“Well, would you rather try and get out of here or would you like to burn to death?” John cut in. “I would rather not burn!” Kurt pointed out, and Bruce nodded beside him.
“Okay. Okay. Come on, we’re gonna bust through the side door. Are they surrounding the house?” You began to plan, though you were panicking on the inside.
“I don’t know. I only saw them from the front door.” Sharon wheezed.
“I hate those odds and I don’t think our chances are even decent, but there’s no other option. When I say go, race through that door!” You directed. Checking to make sure everybody was accounted for, you gave yourself a final nod of encouragement. John was able to get Sharon onto his back.
“Go!” You shrieked, making sure that you were the last one to bolt out.
“I see them!” Peter screamed.
“Doesn’t matter! Keep going!” Bucky commanded, but they were only getting closer.
The sound of something crashing against the forest floor made you gasp.
“They can knock trees over?!” Peter kept glancing over his shoulder.
“They are getting a bit close!” Kurt yelled out. You looked over your shoulder, seeing John struggling to run with Sharon on his back. You stopped, and when Bucky began to slow down to see why, you put your hand on his back, guiding him forward. “Go.” You told him, as you went to help John.
“You can’t carry me and I can’t run,” Sharon said darkly. “John, put me down.”
The crowds of zombies chasing you were only catching up.
“Sharon, we’re not leaving you.” Your voice raised in pitch, anxiety settling in.
“Sharon.” John panted. “Come on, we gotta keep going.” He tried to stabilize her, to keep her still against his back, but she managed to break his hold on her.
“Sharon—stop! Stop, Sharon, please!” You begged, your eyes watering up.
“I can’t lose another friend. Come on, don’t be like this.” John grabbed her wrist, but she pulled away.
“Take them all to Wakanda for me, okay?” She asked, giving you a soft smile.
“Sharon!” You cried out as John gripped your wrist, keeping you from chasing after her as she staggered into the horde of undead.
“We could’ve..that—she didn’t have to—“ You gasped, beginning to hyperventilate. “Yeah, I know, but we have to keep going.” John’s hand remained wrapped around your wrist. It felt too tight. It hurt.
“Let go of me.” You said as you sprinted with him.
“There’s only more of them!” Bruce stressed, and you wondered how he didn’t get whiplash from looking around between you all so fast.
“Go right!” Bucky took charge, and everyone obeyed. You kept pace with Bucky, knowing that he was running slower on purpose. The serum enhances his speed, so there was no reason he couldn’t have just bolted and gotten to safety. You admired his loyalty.
Everyone—minus you and Bucky—made it away from the main group of zombies before a large tree fell. It was burning. The only thing that you’d noticed was burning was the house.
“Zombie enhanced. Not good!” Bruce shouted.
“What do we do?” Peter tried to find a solution. You took a deep breath.
“Run!”
“What?” John, Okoye, Bruce, and Kurt all looked back at you and Bucky.
“We’ll find another way! We’ll find you!” Bucky agreed.
Peter shook his head, mouth opened slightly like he was about to protest. You hoped that this didn’t fuck him up too bad. He already had enough trauma.
“Come on!” Okoye filled in the role of ‘leader’. She was a general, after all. She was born for this.
You turned to Bucky, grabbing his arm and trying to find a way around the zombies. “Move! Move! Move!” Your voice went higher in pitch every time you said it. You wove through clusters of them, though you were still in your pajamas.
You ran through the woods, but it was still dark out. The moon was the only thing keeping you from not being able to see anything at all, and you were thankful.
“How fast can they go?” You shrieked as they began to pick up the pace.
“Y/n, go! I’ll hold them off!” Bucky began to slow down.
“What? No!”
“Just go!” He stopped suddenly, and you tumbled to the ground, trying to do the same.
“No! Not without you!” You howled, and he accepted his defeat, racing back towards you and grabbing you as you stood up.
Not without you. I love you.
Bucky and you ran through the dark woods, breathing heavily, palms sweating. You managed to trip over a tree root, pulling Bucky down with you. Just your luck, you managed to trip at the top of a hill, and you rolled down it with Bucky. Dirt and dead leaves crunched under you and scratched at your legs and arms, pine needles getting stuck in your hair and in Bucky’s.
“Fucking hell..” You groaned as you stopped rolling.
“This is not as pleasant as those fall candles said it would be.” Bucky breathed, and you laughed. You’d shown him some fall candles in a store you were raiding, one being Rolling in Leaves.
“Yeah. I agree.” You choked out.
“Come on, we gotta find..” He trailed off.
“They’re long gone, Buck. We’ll..just have to meet them in Wakanda.” You stood, helping him up.
“Don’t ever pull that shit again.” You said after a moment of walking. “What?” Bucky looked at you, not knowing what you were talking about. “That sacrifice bullshit.” You clarified. “Never fucking again.”
“Okay.” He said blankly.
“Promise me.”
“I promise.” He made direct eye contact with you as he said it.
“Good. We should find somewhere to stay for the night. I’m exhausted.”
The two of you walked for maybe an hour more or so before Bucky pointed something out in the distance. “There. Those are caves.”
You looked where he was pointing, and sure enough, they were caves.
Another hour later and you’d been able to sort through the bags and see what you had. Bucky had been smart and saved the bags from the fire.
“Why do you care? About..my life?” He broke the silence.
“Why would I not?” He shrugged in response. “Because you’re one of the only people I have left. And..I care about you, Bucky. A hell of a lot.”
“I care about you too.” He breathed, and it was clear he meant it. His gaze drifted down, towards your lips. He cleared his throat awkwardly, eyes shifting elsewhere.
“Bucky—“
“Kiss me.”
“I—what?”
“I want you..to kiss me.” The former Winter Soldier, one of the few Super Soldiers on the planet, wanted to kiss you. And who were you to say no? You felt the same way.
You leaned it at the same time, your lips against his, both of your hearts beating faster than they ever have before.
The kiss ended when you pressed your forehead to his. Bucky’s fingers tangled with yours, your knees pressed against his.
“If I have to be with anyone in this situation, I’m glad it’s you.” You whispered.
“Me too.”
“Wait a second. Can you check the front pocket of my bag and see if the little camera thing is in there?” You asked him, and he nodded, reaching over to open the front pocket of your backpack. He handed you the small device. Maybe it was weird to end a moment like that with asking for a camera, but you needed to be sure.
“Think it survived the fall?” He questioned.
“Let’s find out. If it does, maybe we can use the parts to make some kind of communication device. Maybe we can contact someone in Wakanda with it.” You pressed record. A small little light came on off the side of the camera, and you grinned. “It works.”
Now that you were recording, you realized that you might as well film your log.
“The safe house burned down. We got split up from the group. Sharon..Sharon’s gone.” You said grimly. “We have no contact with the rest of the group, and no way of knowing if they’re alive or not.” You spoke to the camera, eyes never really staying focused on one thing for more than a minute.
“This is day..forty-nine?” You glanced at Bucky, who was nodding. “Forty-nine. Day forty-nine since the apocalypse started. And Bucky and I may be the last survivors in the United States.”

How What if...Zombies Spidey gets to the DCU
Here's the second part of this post
This is about how Zombie!Peter (And possibly others) got to the DCU. the third part will be the HC on what he is going to be doing overther, but for now wh need to know how he got there
Also,I accidentally uploaded my original draft for this but it wasn't finished so I had to delete it so I lost all of that writing TnT
-Starting this off with more timeline explanations! Let's goooooooo
Ok so anything that happens on Earth has absolutely no effect on the rest of the universe, that means that all of the guardian movies and Thor Ragnarok happens when they originally did in the OG timeline.
"But Thor and Loki met Strange 3 days before Infinity war" SHhhhhhh, trust and listen. Since Loki really didn't want to deal with his dad, Instead of just sending him to Earth, She sends him to a different reality Earth. How? But studying the space stone of course. Not to mention he spent a good while researching and studying the aether when he was king and before they sent it to the collector. With this in mind, Loki taught himself how to access and travel to different realities (Remember this)
That means that Bruce B. gets back on Earth at the same time he did in the original, in 2018. Infinity war takes place in about a day or so and seeing as Thanos is on Earth by the end of the episode, let's say that the episode takes place over a time period of about 24-48 hours. A weekend if you will.
That, adding onto the fact I made the zombie apocalypse 7-8 months long instead of 1 month changes a few things timeline wise. Not only does it push Ant-Man & The Wasp back many months, It also means that there's a high chance Bucky's brainwashing isn't 100% gone, and that the apocalypse started around a year or so after Homecoming.
Do with that info as you please :D
-What is happening without space friends? Well...
Loki wasnt Fucking Stupid and died like and idiot here!
(Your the god of fucking mischief and yet the only thing you can think to do is a knife?!? A fucking Knife? Not even to the back as has been stated you have done in your own goddamn show, But right in the face where he can very clearly see it you short dumbass!)
N E Ways- Loki did something, yk, smart and joined up with Thanos cause like, Dude the guy was winning! Loki was gonna play a long game and work with him again to get his opening. . .Then they killed his fucking brother! Yeah this has not been a good day for him- He is sent to stalk Earth with the other dudes but he decides to stay on the ship and
Loki looking down at Earth though the ship's surveillance systems: WTF did the mortals do!?!?
Alien helper Loki asked for and somehow got: Would you like to go down there sir?
Loki getting comfortable and changing his clothes into something cozy after a very traumatic day: Norse no, Get me a bigger monitor and some food, I wanna see where this goes.
And then Loki just watches like the agent of chaos he is. (Remember this too)
What about Thor? Well Thor doesn't really die, Loki just sees the explosion of the ship and just assumes. He still teams up with half the guardians and everything still happens like the movie for him until he gets to Wakanda.
AND OH BOY LET ME TALK ABOUT WAKANDA
(The Guardians? Canon. Literally the only difference could be that maybe Peter Q. and Co. die immediately on Titan without the space roadtrip trio.)
-Wakanda? Gone
Okoye Was sent to America and everything went to hell lol.
No but Seriously, The King was gone, Okoye went to look for him, and Wakanda was left pretty defenseless. I say that the country was already compromised before she left, but it only started causing trouble after she left, so she has no clue what happened. the important thing isn't Okoye though, no the important thing is Thor. More specifically, Thor, Rocket and Groot when they get there. I can see 2 things happening.
1-they get infected immediately and all of a sudden you get a Zombified God with an axe walking around with a tree and a raccoon. All there while his brother is watching the man, he thought was dead, truly die. ( he gets the feeling that this is Karma) Or,
2- They fight the Zombies thinking they are part of Thanoses army like total badasses, not knowing what they are fighting or getting infected. All while Loki I absolutely shell shocked watching this from a 5th monster mouth agape. (Ones watching visions base with the king and witch, Twos watching the group trying to get to the base, Threes watching some old guy sitting in a park absolutely unbothered, And Forths could be the other dead people from the last post, idk, the separate continuity for the AU gets a mention lol)}
Loki in ver. 1: Absolute depression
Loki in ver. 2: Slacked jawed as he watches his brother be a complete dumbass
-So, How did they he skip dimension?
Well everything from the episode happens the same. Maybe a bit more emotional because they are closer, but every one we see die, Dies. Why? Uhh duh, angst and plot potential, why else?
and its, Everyone one we see die. Let me explain. Anyone we see get turned or killed on screen, It's death. If a character dies off screen but the situation is bad and impossible for said person to get out of, it's death. BUT, if a character is killed off screen but theoretically they could escape, they can live.
Ex For this rule: Happy is hit by a speeding car off screen that implies death= Death, Reason? He's a normal dude T'Challa is hit by a speeding car off screen that implies death= Can Live, Reason? He has the powers of the Black Panther
You Got That? cool. with that in mind, and what I can remember atm, this is the list of people who live
Peter P.- Scott L.- King T'Challa.- Bruce B.- Bucky B.- Rocket R.- Groot-Thor- Loki. Igs, if you want the guys from the more hero’s Idea to be here then you can add them ig. That's the list of survivor a
(Why aren't there more women? Idk, take it up with Disney for killing all of them)
Why these guys? Simple. Cause they all are on Earth
-Loki, being a god, takes a look at Zombie Thanos and thinks "Oh no...Oh Hellas no" And decides to do something about it.
Seriously, You expect me to believe that anything other stone then the space and reality one can send them to another reality? No, I don't think so. And who did I say studied and used these stones before? hmmm? So my proposition for you today is simple. take our god Loki with his obsession with the space stone and have him cast a spell to have every living being on the planet left, come with him to whatever other reality he's taking them to. and thus the crossover commences.
-Peter and the others are now screwed.
They all travel and end up at the same place they were in their original universe. (Omg I just realized Loki could end up at the watchtower lol)
They could be in different realities, but they all are in the same position they were before traveling
Peter: Is on plane before Dimension hopping
Peter: falling to his death after dimension hopping
Peter: Paink!
And then they get split up...hurray!
That's the end for this post. The other will be more focused on Peter But we needed This one as a way to get to the next world. Will I change some stuff? Sure, maybe later, But for now I'm pretty tired and I don't have much else to do at this point.
With that said, I hope you enjoyed this post and let me know what you think

*MCU SPOILERS*
Does anyone else feel like Sam Wilson's Captain America in the MCU is getting done dirty, or is it just me?
We finally have him going from Falcon to Captain America (suit and shield) in The Falcon & The Winter Soldier show since Steve passed the shield and his mantle to him back in Endgame. But what does the MCU do with him since that show?
Well, he starred in a mini-movie in the Disney Cruise Line and mentioned once or twice in the Rogers musical. He had ONLY ONE appearance in the What If animated series as Falcon, but only as a zombie to be killed off by Okoye. He hasn't made any other appearances since.
There is his movie, Captain America 4, but there have been issues happening with it for so long. First, it was the name change cause of how controversial it was (which I had no idea it was). Then there were the delays and reshoots. Then there's adding Sabra into the movie, who's an Israeli agent, which is a whole can of worms right there. Especially with what's happening between Palestine and Israel.
It really sucks, though, cause I wanted to see more of Sam as the new Captain America. But, all we have to look forward to in the future is a movie with many problems, and him and Monica getting an episode in What If season 3 where they pilot gundams....I'm not joking. Although, I think Monica's looks more like the EVAs from Evangelion.

Bucky found you curled up in a window seat in one of the empty cars near the back of the train. You had a far-off look in your eyes as you stared at the landscape flying by outside. Bucky sighed as he walked over and sat in the seat next to you, gently taking your hand. You looked over and gave him a small smile.
“Hey.”
“Hey, doll. You okay?”
“Yeah, I just needed to get away for a little while. Being around everyone can be a little overwhelming at times.”
Bucky scoffed. “Tell me about it.”
“And don’t get me wrong, I love the kid, but….. the way he treats this whole situation sometimes….” you trail off, shaking your head.
“I know. He’s just trying to stay positive, but he needs to learn to read the room.”
You both sat in silence for a moment before you whispered, “Hey, I’m sorry about Sam. Okoye told me what happened.”
Bucky sighed. “I mean, I feel bad of course, but I never really got the chance to know him that well. I guess he had gotten close with Steve, but honestly, I only met him a couple times. Just once kicking his ass as the Winter Soldier, and then again in Berlin. He stuck his neck out for me and I’m grateful to him, but you knew him better than I did. And besides, we technically lost him weeks ago. That thing wasn’t really him anymore, just something the virus made him into………… But I’m sorry about Happy.”
You nodded sadly. “I mean, it always hurts to lose someone else, but ever since Tony……. Well, Happy and I had gotten even closer recently. So, yeah, this one hurts a bit more.”
Bucky knew that as the SHIELD agent assigned to keep an eye on Tony when he had first become Iron Man, you had known Happy for almost ten years. You had always spoken very highly of him and thought he was an often forgotten or overlooked asset to the team. He had also been the last remaining link you had to that part of your life. First Tony, Nat, and Barton, then Rhodey and Pepper, and just a few days ago, Fury had fallen. Happy had been your last link to your pre-Avengers life and now….
Bucky wrapped his metal arm gently around you and pulled you close to his side. He knew, through everything, you always tried putting on a brave face. You never let yourself break down as you tried to be the rock the rest of the team could lean on. However, he also knew that because of this, you blamed yourself that much more for every person they lost. As you sadly laid your head against his shoulder, Bucky wished he could take some of that burden from you. He wished he could just get you to stop worrying about everyone else for a moment and just focus on yourself.
“Speaking of the kid, did I tell you he broke into my shower with Kurt last week to film one of those stupid survival videos?”
You looked up at Bucky, slightly confused. “No, I would have remembered if you’d mentioned that. Why did they want to film in your shower?”
“Apparently, hygiene is very important because zombies are attracted to pheromones produced from human flesh. However, people are, and I quote, ‘never more vulnerable than when you’re in your birthday suit’. So, Kurt ripped open the curtain while I was showering and tried one of his sneak attacks on me.”
You exploded with astonished laughter. “Wait, wait, wait…. So, you’re telling me they ambushed you in the middle of your shower? Like completely naked, all soaped up? And this is the moment Kurt tried to attack you?”
“Pretty much, yeah.”
“And you let them live? Oh my god, I’ve got to see this video!” You chuckled, a dazzling smile stretched across your face. It was the first time Bucky could remember seeing you truly happy since all of this started. Reaching out, he placed his free hand lightly under your chin as he pulled you in. When your lips met, Bucky could still feel the smile on your face.
When he eventually pulled away, you rested your forehead against his and whispered, “Thank you.”
“For what, doll?”
“For everything. For picking me up when I need it most. For reminding me there is life beyond all this pain and suffering. For just being you.”
“I’m the one who should be thanking you," he said. "You met me at my lowest point and yet somehow saw past the terrible things I had done to see the man that I used to be, that I wanted to be again. You helped me to be strong enough to face my past while also striving for my future. You gave me something to fight for, and I promise to keep fighting for you every single day, fighting for us.”
Bucky pulled your lips into his once more but while your last exchange had been sweet and tender, this one was passionate and hungry. The two of you had spent months alone together in Wakanda while Bucky was being deprogrammed but this was the first time since the virus started that you had allowed yourselves such an intimate moment. Every frantic kiss pulsed with affections that were too complex, too intense to put into words. Each caress was filled with endless love and devotion as you each tried to express what the other meant to you. As you tangled your fingers into Bucky’s hair and pulled him deeper into you, a moan rumbled in his throat. Sliding your lips to his ear, you breathed, “Hey soldier, how about we –”
A sudden scream from the back of the train brought you both to your feet in seconds. “Sharon,” Bucky exclaimed as he took off towards the sound, you close on his heels.
Bursting through the door of the caboose, the two of you stumbled to a halt. There was little you could do but watch in dismay as the dark form hunched over Sharon’s unmoving body bent to take another bite out of her neck. Even in the dim lighting, you both recognized the intruder.
“I think you’ve had enough, Cap.” Bucky said as he stared miserably at what was left of his best friend. Even with the blueish-green skin, the patches of decayed flesh, and glowing yellow eyes, Bucky could still see the man he used to be and he hesitated. Despite the comment he had just made to you about these creatures no longer being the people they once were, he couldn’t help but wonder. The entire reason they were even on this train was in the pursuit of a cure. If there was one, if they could find it, was there still a way to save Steve?
But then he felt your hand rest softly on his back and Bucky snapped back to reality. It ultimately didn’t matter if there was a way to save Steve. Right now, this virus was making him a threat to the train full of people Bucky cared about, and Bucky wasn’t going to risk losing anyone else on the small chance that a cure might eventually be found.
Besides, the Steve he knew would have never hurt him. In fact, Steve had almost let Bucky kill him when Bucky had been the Winter Soldier just because he refused to give up on his best friend. And, truthfully, Bucky was still willing to die for Steve. If his death meant that Steve would miraculously return to his former self, he would have laid down his life in a second. But the reality of the situation was if Bucky didn’t fight back, it would not only mean his death, but there was a good chance it would mean the death of everyone else on the train. Fighting one undead super soldier was going to be hard enough, fighting two would be next to impossible. So, against every instinct in his body, Bucky raised his gun at the fallen hero.
The creature that used to be Steve (it was easier for Bucky to think of it as a creature than his friend) snarled when it noticed the two fresh new victims at the other end of the train car. It raised an all too familiar shield, dripping with blood and gore, and charged towards its next meal. Bucky opened fire as he rushed to meet him. The bullets bounced harmlessly off the shield and the two soldiers soon collided in a tangle of fists and metal. The creature still had all of Steve’s former knowledge and abilities but with an added savagery to his fighting that Bucky wasn’t expecting. Several times gnawing teeth just barely missed grazing Bucky’s skin. Finally, Bucky found an opening and kicked the creature firmly in the chest, sending it flying backward.
Just then, the thing that had once been Sharon Carter lunged at Bucky’s side. Using his metal arm, he effortlessly threw her to the ground behind him. He heard a shot and, glancing back, he saw you put two more bullets into its head. However, this momentary distraction was enough for creature Steve to once more charge at Bucky, sending them both toppling to the floor. Bucky struggled frantically to keep the chomping jaws away from him, but the virus had made the creature too strong. Just as Bucky thought he was done for, you launched yourself at the creature. You cried out as your momentum sent both of you skidding across the floor towards the open rear door. As soon as you came to rest, you rolled quickly to the side to escape the creature, but it stood and began advancing on you.
“Hey!” Bucky yelled. The creature turned towards him with a growl. Ripping the shield from its arm, it chucked it hard at the soldier. Bucky caught it with ease and whirled it back the direction it came from. The creature didn’t even react as the shield sliced cleanly through its body before lodging itself in the doorway of the train. Bucky took one last look at his friend as Cap split in two and tumbled from the train. He slowly walked over to the door and looked out. “Sorry, pal. I guess this is the end of the line.”
And with that, Bucky yanked the shield from where it was wedged in the doorway. He stared down at it mournfully for a moment before securing it carefully to his back. He knew that someone had to carry on Steve’s legacy, but he had never wanted to carry the shield. He hadn’t wanted to carry it even back in 1945 when Steve had first received it or when, months later, he had been forced to use it on that train in the mountains. Right before his life went to hell. God damn, he hated trains!
“Bucky….”
He turned away from the door and his heart stopped in his chest. Your arm was outstretched and Bucky could clearly see the deep, bloody imprint of Steve’s teeth on your skin. He rushed to your side, desperately chanting, “No, no, no, no.”
“I’m sorry. He had you pinned down, and I thought I could…… He was just too fast.”
Bucky could feel your skin already becoming cold and clammy beneath his fingers, the virus circulating quickly through your body, helped by all the adrenaline in your system. He prodded the wound gently with his metal fingers. “Does it hurt?”
“At first, but now it’s just kind of numb…… and it is spreading.” You looked up at him with wide, teary eyes. You both knew what this meant, but neither of you wanted to be the first to say it.
“You’ll be fine. Do you hear me? We should be at Camp Lehigh soon and they’ll have the cure. You just need to hold on a little longer and we can fix this.”
“Bucky, there’s not enough time. The virus is progressing too quickly. I can feel it.” You gazed longingly at him, resting your hand gently on his cheek as you tried to memorize every inch of his face. At that moment, all he wanted to do was sweep you up in his arms, press his lips against yours, and never let go. He wanted to go back to the way the two of you had been just moments ago, wrapped in each other’s loving embrace. And he could see that you felt the same way. But you both knew that the virus mainly spread through saliva, and that even the smallest peck could doom Bucky to a similar fate.
So instead, you backed away from him, stopping only once you were framed in the doorway he had just knocked Steve out of. “I need you to do something for me, okay? Don’t give up. There are other people here who need you to fight for them, just as hard as you have always fought for me. I know you can do this. You were strong before we met, and I need you to stay strong after I’m gone. Please, promise me.”
Bucky stared at you, a look of longing and pain etched on his face. “Doll…. Please…. I’ve lost everyone else I love, I can’t lose you too.”
“I’m so sorry, Buck. I love you so much, but don’t you get it? You already have.” And with that, you leaned back, allowing your body to topple off of the train.

The Wakandans knew the battle was over when the obambo collectively released an earsplitting screech into the air before their skeletal bodies collapsed to the blood-soaked earth. The army watched as the evil beings shriveled up before their very eyes. Their bodies became one with the dirt in seconds, and moments later, the obambo’s poor victims returned to their normal state. Their eyes were wide with disbelief over what they had been through, and the trauma of the ordeal was graffitied across their tired faces, but they had survived being possessed.
Just like that, the Wakandans had won the war, and the feeling of a hard-earned victory washed over them. The realization hit slowly at first, but then cheers erupted around the group of soldiers that were happy to be still standing after facing Asha’s army. They weren’t sure exactly what had happened, but the important thing was that the dreadful obambo were gone.
In the middle of the celebration, the doors to the Necropolis opened, and T’Challa stepped out, surveying the carnage.
“Kumkani wam,” Okoye hurried over to him, “The enemy has been neutralized.”
T’Challa nodded, taking in the scene. He fixed his mouth to ask about the panthers when Amare rushed to his side next.
“Where is my daughter?”
“Bast said she would return soon.”
“Return? From where?”
“You found Bast? Where is she?”
Amare and Okoye spoke over each other.
“I’m not sure,” T’Challa grunted in response to them both. He was trying not to dwell on his worries, but his voice reeked of irritation. Ever since Nia disappeared with Asha, his worst fears became realized. He couldn’t bear to live in a world without his love in it, and panic flowed from his every pore until Bast reassured him of her safety. Though her words somewhat calmed him, he still needed to use the time it took to walk up from the catacombs to center himself. He’d need to lay his eyes on Nia himself to know she was safe.
The king distracted himself by taking in the scene before him. He saw the zombi clawing at the Border tribe blankets that kept them boxed in, and he noticed the bouda had all succumbed to the panthers’ teeth and the Wakandans’ weapons. His eyes scanned over the wilted obambo remains before landing on their disoriented former victims scattered about the battlefield with varying degrees of injury.
“Call for the medics,” T’Challa ordered his General. “Get these people stable, and notify their families as well.”
Okoye nodded swiftly and turned on her heels, already alerting the medics on her beads when she noticed a swirling dark cloud above the zombi that she recognized from several months prior.
“Kumkani, their souls,” she warned, and T’Challa’s chest tightened.
None of them could anoint themselves the way they needed to since Nia’s spell made their skin impenetrable, but something about the mass of souls in the air felt different from the time at Nia’s house. They felt more at ease, less frantic than before, and T’Challa realized what had happened. Their maker, the one who held their souls captive in the realm of the dead, was dead herself.
Asha was gone from this world, and they could finally rest.
---------
N’Jadaka sighed impatiently as he leaned against a column in the bowels of the Necropolis. He crossed his arms tightly over his chest, and his foot wouldn’t stop tapping as if it had a mind of its own. He wasn’t sure how much time passed before he got tired of standing and let his body slide to the floor as he stared at a blazing torch across the walkway.
“I’m getting too old for this,” he grumbled under his breath and closed his eyes, leaning his head back against the cool marble column as he tried to ignore the way his shoulder ached from fighting Chiku. The bouda had gotten some good licks in, but N’Jadaka was faster, even without the heart-shaped herb in his system. However, his body still ached. Years of being rough on it had caught up with him, and he started seriously contemplating changing his ways when he unintentionally drifted off to dreamland.
“N’Jadaka,” called a voice that he hadn’t heard in years… decades, even. It had been so long that he forgot how she sounded. Even in his dream, he felt an intense wave of sadness wash over him. How could he forget his mother’s voice?
“N’Jadaka,” she called again, and he felt a hand shake his shoulder.
His eyes fluttered open, and he blinked them into focus. That same torch from before nearly blinded him so that all he could see was her silhouette, but he knew it was her.
“Mom?”
“Wh- no… it’s me.”
Nia’s voice came through clear as day, but he had been sure he’d heard his mother….
“Are you ok?”
“Yeah,” N’Jadaka said through a yawn, “Just been a long day.”
His eyes finally focused on Nia, and he could see a mischievous glint in her eyes.
“What’s up?”
“Someone wants to see you.”
N’Jadaka’s face twisted up like he had tasted a sour lemon without warning, and he stared at her questioningly.
“Who?”
Nia stood from her crouched position, and N’Jadaka finally looked past her to the two figures that hovered just a few feet away.
“My son…”
N’Jadaka looked between Nia, Sego, and N’Jobu as if they were a complicated puzzle with no solution.
“Wh… how…”
His breathing grew rigid and shallow, so Nia placed her hand on his shoulder to calm him down.
“Sekhmet kept them from us,” she explained, helping him stand. “They were in a whole different realm.”
N’Jadaka barely registered her words. His eyes became blurry with tears as he stepped forward and closed the gap between N’Jobu and himself. He reached out, knowing he wouldn’t be able to feel his father’s touch, and surrounded himself with the cool tingly air that comprised N’Jobu. It was the closest thing he could get to a hug.
“Baba,” he croaked and fell apart in the spirit’s arms.
Sego looked at Nia and noticed tears in her eyes, so he reached his hand out to her, and she took it without a second thought.
“Let’s give them some privacy,” he said.
Nia led him upstairs to the temple’s entrance, and they sat down just inside the doors. A comfortable silence stretched over them as Nia leaned her head on Sego’s shoulder until he kissed her forehead and got a good look at her hair.
“I like the braids.”
“Ngiyabonga,” Nia responded with a soft smile. “I wanted to try something different after my hair grew out-”
Sego felt her tense next to him, so he put his arm around her shoulder and pulled her in close while the painful reminder of their predicament made Nia bite her tongue. All the grief and pain that she’d felt over his loss and tried so hard to overcome came crashing back down on her, and she buried her head in his chest to let the tears flow from her eyes once more.
“I wish you’d gone home that night, then-”
“Then it would’ve been you, and where would we all be now? Hm?”
Nia sniffled.
“It sucks, Nia, but look how things played out.”
Nia’s mind wandered to take in all the moments that led them to where they were. She thought of Sekhmet toying with N’Jadaka, and of the zombi and bouda Asha sent to kill her. She even thought back to the night she lost her best friend.
“What happened on your end?”
Sego’s breath hitched as he reflected on how he came to be in his current dilemma.
“I heard you sneak in late that night after being all fresh with your man,” he teased, and Nia nudged his chest. “Then, a little while later, the door opened again, and I saw someone heading towards you… I didn’t even think; I just acted.”
Sego cleared his throat.
“But I’m glad it was me and not you.”
“How can you say that?”
“Nia, you covered an entire army in protection magic. I couldn’t have done that.”
She had no response, her survivor’s guilt weighing her tongue down until she changed the subject.
“It’s weird that I can touch you.”
“Why?”
“You’re not supposed to be solid. When everyone else came back from the realm of the dead-”
“I never made it all the way there. That could be why.”
“Maybe… whatever the reason, I’m not going to complain.”
They sat in comfortable silence, enjoying each other’s company for several minutes until they heard N’Jadaka’s heavy footsteps approaching.
“How come you can touch him?” N’Jadaka asked as he and N’Jobu rounded the corner.
“He never made it to the realm of the dead,” Nia answered.
“Lucky you.”
The teasing smile on his face let Nia know his sarcasm was benevolent, so she smiled back.
“Y’all ready to see this mess outside?”
“Actually, son, it’s not as bad as you think.”
“How do you know?”
N’Jobu grinned and patted his son on the shoulder.
“We will explain more later. Right now, you and Nia need to join your people.”
---------
“Asha has been defeated. Bast has returned to us. Sekhmet has been imprisoned… The war is won,” T’Challa declared from the steps of the Necropolis, and the soldiers cheered. “Go home to your families. Take the remainder of the week to rest, and we will-”
T’Challa stopped himself when the Necropolis doors creaked open behind him, and his eyes found Nia’s like magnets. Dried blood spilled down the front of her skintight, white suit, but she looked otherwise unscathed as she smiled at him. Her eyes were red and swollen, which gave him pause until he noticed the next person stepping out into the light.
“How?” the king asked, his bewilderment only growing when N’Jadaka and N’Jobu came out next.
Amare flew up the steps and wrapped Nia in a hug the moment he laid eyes on her, intercepting her before she could get to T’Challa. He pulled Sego in next and cried as he held them both.
“T’Challa.”
The king looked toward the voice he hadn’t heard since childhood and smiled at his favorite uncle.
“Uncle N’Jobu.”
“Has anyone ever told you that you look just like your father?”
T’Challa bristled at the mention of T’Chaka by the man whose life he took, but he was happy that N’Jobu’s kind eyes showed no sign of ill-will towards him.
“Only my entire life,” the king announced proudly.
“Your head isn’t as big, though.”
N’Jadaka snorted, and T’Challa tried his best to stifle a chuckle when he felt a hand slither around his waist. He looked down at Nia and kissed the healed patch of scalp on her crown where Asha ripped out her braid.
“I didn’t mean to ruin your address. You should finish.”
“You ruined nothing, sithandwa.”
“Still, go ahead.”
T’Challa nodded and turned back toward the crowd, tapping Nia on the shoulder to get her to do the same. When she whipped around, her jaw nearly hit the floor. Dozens of panthers were making their way through the crowd of soldiers and gathering at the bottom of the steps. Their eyes were glued on her as they moved, and when they got close, they bowed to her.
T’Challa grabbed Nia’s hand and stepped forward again.
“As you can all see, Nia is very special. She is a descendant of Bast herself.”
Gasps echoed around the crowd as T’Challa joined the panthers in their show of respect. One by one, everyone bowed to Nia, including her father. She looked around, at Amita and M’Baku, at Okoye, at Mandla, at Sego, and she couldn't take it. The emotions overwhelmed her and flowed out of her eyes in a river of tears.
“Get up,” she fussed at T’Challa, dismissively waving her hand at him. He caught it and placed a kiss on the back before standing up and intertwining their fingers.
“It’s what you deserve, my love.” He wiped her tears and kissed her lips softly, pulling her in by her waist. “Don’t cry. Why are you sad?”
“I’m not sad, I-” Nia blinked tears from her curly eyelashes as she stared up at him.
His eyes felt like home.
Before she could stop herself, her emotions overflowed and the words she had been sitting on all day escaped her lips, “Nami ngiyakuthanda.”
T’Challa’s face slowly contorted as the realization of her words sank in, and pretty soon, he was all teeth as he grinned back at her.
She loved him, too.
And she meant it. Her heart hadn’t changed its rhythm when she said it. In fact, as the words fell from her lips, her body took on a subtle glow that grew in intensity when he smashed his lips to hers.
Cheers and whistles erupted around the crowd, but as quickly as the noise began, it ended even quicker when the king and his love vanished out of view.
---------
The two lovers pulled their lips apart when they felt the telltale sign of traveling between realms, and their masks simultaneously deployed from their necklaces. Unsure of where they would end up, they held on tight to each other as some unseen force pulled them through the in-between. Unlike Nia’s other experiences in the space between the realms, they were moving upwards, floating above the veils of the realms they called home towards another one she had never noticed before.
T’Challa couldn’t help but stare at the veils, their contrasting energy and swirling colors captivating him into silence. Even Nia was amazed at the view from above, but the view of the overhead realm was something marvelous. Every color Nia could ever imagine swirled together in a magnificent rainbow that sparkled like diamonds.
“What is that?” T’Challa asked, his voice tinted with wonder.
Before she could answer, Nia felt a tugging in her gut, as if her body carried a memory that escaped her mind. It grew and grew the higher they climbed until the feeling became a recognizable sensation.
“Bast,” she gasped.
“You feel her?”
Nia nodded and held on to T’Challa as they breached the shining, multicolored realm. They were blinded by a bright light that quickly subsided, and as they blinked their eyes, their surroundings became clear. Several gods were staring down at them from golden thrones on a semicircle dais in a massive marble temple. Statues of each deity loomed over the backs of their thrones, and there were three empty thrones to the right of the center: the farthest had a statue of Bast over it that looked as though it had been untouched in eons, the next one had a statue of Sekhmet and also looked to be unused, and the one closest to the center featured a statue of a woman with the head of a cow.
A tall man with the head of a falcon and broad, bejeweled shoulders sat in the middle of the semicircle. Bast flanked him on one side and an equally-decorated cow on the other.
“Welcome to your ancestral home, Nia,” he spoke.
“Home?”
“Yes. This is the realm of the gods.”
Nia’s eyebrows nearly reached her hairline, but she quickly translated for T’Challa. His expression matched hers, and they both lowered their heads in deference to the surrounding gods.
“Nia, T’Challa, I am Ra, God of the Sun, father to Bast and Hathor here… and Sekhmet,” Ra introduced himself with a certain heaviness in his eyes when he mentioned his middle daughter. “It is my pleasure to meet you both, but especially Nia.”
“She looks just like you, sister,” said the cow, and Bast smirked.
“She does,” Ra chuckled. “Nia, step forward.”
She released T’Challa’s hand and did as he said, walking closer so that she could see the kohl lining Ra’s penetrating dark eyes. Nia held her head high, but internally she was conflicted. Her every cell was abuzz with the energy emanating from the god realm. Not only was she feel like she was recharging simply by being there, but she was getting to meet her family. Her divine family… family that could have put a stop to all the madness before it even began. Yet, they didn’t, and she just had to know why.
Ra sensed the same tension within her that he recognized from when his own daughters dealt with inner turmoil, and he reached his hand out to her, smiling when she placed her palms in his.
“I sense you have something to say. You may speak your mind here.”
His openness surprised Nia, and she decided to take advantage of the opportunity while she had the chance.
“Why didn’t you stop her?”
Ra sighed and looked down at his bare feet.
A haughty laugh echoed across the throne room, and Nia turned towards the sound.
“I have asked him that countless times,” said a deity with the head of a jackal.
“Anubis-”
“No, answer her, Ra. Thousands of souls go missing from my realm, and nothing. Had you acted sooner-”
“I am aware!” Ra bellowed, and Anubis looked on with a smirk, satisfied from getting Ra riled up.
“Ra,” cooed a goddess with the lower body of a fish and the upper body of a beautiful woman. Her melodic voice seemed to soothe Ra, and he relaxed at the very sound of his name from her lips.
Nia wondered momentarily if the goddess was connected to the sirin in any way, but her curiosity didn’t have much time to grow because the conversation continued.
“Do not let him shake you up, brother,” said a sharp-tongued man with six arms seated to Ra’s left.
“Thank you, Anansi, but he is right,” said Ra before turning his attention back to Nia.
“My actions in the past led to a fracturing in my relationship with my two youngest daughters centuries ago. It wasn’t until today that I laid eyes on either one in centuries,” he explained. “When Thoth and Mujaji told me my youngest was missing, I… I nearly lost myself. Then to find out the culprit was her own sister? And on top of that, my eldest daughter delivered a baby for her without my knowing-”
“Baba-” Hathor began, but he raised a hand to stop her.
“I am not upset at your actions, I am upset at mine and Sekhmet’s. I should have never sent her and Bast away.” He cleared his throat and looked around the room. “You tried to tell me… all of you did.”
“Ra, it is in the past now. Let us move forward,” said Thoth across the room, and Hanuman echoed his sentiment.
“The wrongs have been righted. That is what matters,” said the gorilla god.
“What will happen to Sekhmet?” Nia asked.
“We will attempt to rehabilitate her, no matter how long it takes,” answered Kokou, his flame blazing brightly from his throne.
“And we will keep a closer eye on her in the future,” said Mujaji, and Nia and T’Challa both admired his current form which looked like a walking acacia tree.
“Nia,” Bast cooed and placed her hands around Nia’s face, “you have helped bring peace to the realms and to our family, and for that, I am forever grateful to you.”
Nia looked away sheepishly, unable to adequately accept the praise coming from her ancestor.
“I know you have done so much already, but I do have one more request of you.”
“What is it?”
Bast looked behind Nia, and her eyes fell on T’Challa.
“Come here, king.”
T’Challa made his way up the steps and stood next to Nia.
“T’Challa, Nia is going to need your help.”
“I will do what I can, but what will she need help with?”
“Ruling the magic realm.”
“I’m sorry, what?!” Nia’s eyes nearly bugged out of her head.
“Nia, I am giving the magic realm to you. Become its queen and rule it as you see fit.”
“But, I’m not royalty-”
“Nonsense!” Ra boomed, waving his hand dismissively. “You are descended from gods, my dear. You are more than simple royalty.”
“The magic realm needs you, Nia. They need a leader who can navigate both worlds, one with your powers, your heart.”
“I don’t know the first thing about being queen-”
“You will learn,” said Kokou with a wink.
Nia couldn’t believe what she was hearing, and if it weren’t for the heat radiating off T’Challa’s body next to her, she would have thought she was hallucinating.
Queen of the magic realm.
A queen.
Nia, Aziza Queen of the Magic Realm.
Nia had to let the words sink in. She’d had a title, she’d have responsibilities to her nation…
“What do I even do first? The realms are a mess right now.”
“Well, dear, your first order of business should be if you want to human and magic realms to stay open to each other.”
“That’s an option?” T’Challa asked.
“Of course it is! Especially now that the humans know of the magic realm’s existence.”
“However, there is one rule,” Ra stepped in. “The dead cannot stay.”
Nia’s heart sank into her stomach.
“Why?” she asked.
“It is not the way of the world. They are not meant to walk the realm of the living, hence why they are not fully formed.”
“Can we have some time with them?”
“I will need time to heal before I can fully clean up Sekhmet’s mess, but then they have to go home,” Bast instructed.
Nia nodded solemnly, and T’Challa placed his hand on her back to steady her.
“I know I just laid a lot on you, but believe me, Nia, I would not do so if I did not think you could more than handle it. I will be with you every step of the way-”
“As will I,” said T’Challa, kissing her temple.
“Now, you two, time to go-”
“Wait,” Nia stopped Ra before he could send them back. “I’ll be the queen of the magic realm, but I have two things I would like to ask for, in return, please.”
“Very well,” Ra gestured for her to continue.
“The heart-shaped herb… the humans have lost theirs, and I would like permission to give it to them again.”
Bast smiled at her.
“Permission granted. What else?”
“My friend, Amita. She dabbled in dark magic when we were younger and injured her hands. I have tried to heal her, but couldn’t remove the dark magic still under her skin. Is there something you can do?”
“You are sure this Amita is trustworthy?”
“I am.”
“Then yes, she will be taken care of when I have my full strength back.”
“Thank you,” Nia bowed her head to her ancestor.
“No, thank you, Nia.”
---------
Amita leaned on M’Baku’s shoulder as they watched the soldiers leave Birnin Mutata. They rested on the Necropolis steps aside the remaining panthers, Amare, Okoye, and Mandla. N’Jadaka was deep in conversation with N’Jobu and Sego about their realm when Nia and T’Challa suddenly shimmered back into view right where they left. Naturally, everyone rushed to their sides, speaking over each other, all wondering where they went.
“The realm of the gods,” Nia answered with a sly smile.
“And…” T’Challa nudged her side to get her to continue.
“And I-may-or-may-not-be-queen-of-the-magic-realm-now,” she rushed out excitedly.
“I’m sorry, say that again,” Amare asked. The shock on his face let Nia know he heard right the first time but needed to be sure.
“You are all looking at Queen Nia, ruler of the magic realm,” T’Challa announced proudly as he twirled her around for all to see the new royal.
“You’re the queen now?” Amita asked, her jaw nearly on the floor along with everyone else’s.
“I am,” Nia grinned.
Amita squealed and pulled her into a hug, knocking T’Challa out of the way. She held her tight and rocked her from side to side before letting go and looking into her eyes.
“I’m so proud of you,” she said, and Nia started to tear up.
“So am I,” said Amare.
“Me, too,” added Sego, and the two of them wrapped their arms around their favorite girl.
“Nia, it will be an honor serving you,” said Mandla with a bow.
“So what’s first on the docket, queen?” N’Jadaka asked.
“I don’t even know yet-”
“She has plenty of time to figure that out,” T’Challa stepped in, and she broke away from her family and friends to wrap her arms around his neck.
“With your help.”
“With my help.”
They kissed for a brief moment, then Nia’s stomach rumbled.
“You’ve worked up an appetite,” T’Challa teased.
“Shit, we all have. Y’all were gone two hours,” N’Jadaka fussed.
“Two hours?!”
“Yeah, girl, didn’t you know?” Amita asked.
“No, it felt like ten minutes tops.”
“Time moves differently in other realms, I guess,” said Sego.
“What did we miss?”
“The former zombi and obambo victims are healing at the hospital, and we have contacted their loved ones,” said Okoye.
“And the clean-up and burial process will start as soon as I give the order,” added Mandla.
“Good,” said T’Challa.
“Auntie’s already planning a victory dinner; we’re just waiting on your ass to get back.”
“Then let’s not waste any more time.”
The group traveled back to the palace, where they were met with open arms at the palace gates by Ramonda, Shuri, and Celeste. T’Chaka was there, of course, and when he laid eyes on his brother, he could have died a second time. N’Jobu walked up to him and said nothing, only glared at him with fury in his eyes. His anger wasn’t even over the fact that he was staring at his own murderer, but that the man had abandoned his own flesh and blood.
“N’Jobu, I-”
N’Jobu breezed past his older brother and introduced himself to Shuri while Celeste attempted to cover her family in hugs and kisses.
“Nia has big news,” Amare boasted.
“Ubaba-”
“What? I can’t brag on my daughter?”
“So, what’s the news?” Celeste asked.
“I’m in charge of the magic realm now… Bast appointed me the queen.”
“My baby!” Celeste threw her arms around Nia once more, and the new queen smiled at her mother.
The group made their way into the palace, where they broke off to go to their respective quarters to shower off the battle and change into something for dinner.
All felt right with the world as they dined in the formal dining room with the council elders from both realms, head tribal warriors, priests and priestesses, and their families. Slow-roasted goat meat that fell off the bone and onto their plates filled their stomachs along with ever-flowing wine and a smorgasbord of side dishes and desserts. Chef Omar had gone all out for the occasion, and every living being present had their fill.
Mandla and Okoye proved to be a great team off the battlefield as well as they recounted the fight with animated vigor, keeping everyone entertained and the mood lifted. When the dynamic duo eventually became too full to continue story time, Sego caught Amita’s attention from across the table.
“Thank you for being there for Nia,” he said, and she smiled back at him.
“No worries. I just wish I had known how dope she was when we were back in school.”
“Better late than never,” he shrugged.
Amita raised her glass to his words as the River tribe elder changed the subject.
“So, Nia, now that you are queen-”
“No business talk, Feli! This is a celebration,” Ramonda chided him, and he tossed his hands up in defense.
“My apologies, Queen Mother.”
Conversation flew across the table, and though Nia participated in it, T’Challa could see her mind was somewhere else. Every time someone called her name, he watched her check back into reality. She’d get lost staring across the table at Sego or picking at her plantains, so he grabbed her hand in his and brought it to his lips for a kiss.
“Feeling alright?” he asked just above a whisper.
“Kind of overwhelmed, if I’m being honest,” she whispered back. She was enjoying being around her loved ones, but she was tired and had a lot to process from the day she’d had.
T’Challa nodded and kept an eye on her as she ate, waiting until she finished her meal to stand at the head of the table.
“Thank you all for coming tonight to celebrate this victory with us.”
The table erupted in applause, deep celebratory barks from M’Baku, and whistling from N’Jadaka.
“It is late, and Nia is very tired after such a long day, so we will be taking our leave.”
“Queen Nia-”
“Please, Mandla, just ‘Nia’ is fine.”
“It is not. You are a queen, and I will address you as such! Now, Queen Nia, I would love to meet with you in the coming weeks to discuss the reconstruction of our realm.”
“Sounds good to me,” Nia said through a yawn as she stood from her seat, “I’ll call you.”
Nia kissed Amare’s and Sego’s heads before wrapping her arm around the bend of T’Challa’s outstretched elbow, and he led her out of the dining room.
“How tired are you?” he asked with his hands snaking around her waist, making her skin come alive from his touch as they arrived at the elevator bank.
“Not very.”
The elevator doors swished open, and they stepped on, his hands still glued around her waist.
“You’re my queen,” he murmured between kisses to the column of her neck.
“I’m a queen, not your queen,” Nia giggled as he nibbled on her skin.
“You’ve always been my queen, Nia,” T’Challa whispered in her ear before biting her earlobe. His hands busied themselves with caressing her stomach, and her hips, her thighs, her breasts…
“I guess I am technically Queen of Wakanda,” she caved, and he growled into her neck, pressing his growing erection into her round cheeks. His hands weaseled down the front of her colorful maxi skirt, past her panties and the tuft of curly hairs that framed her treasure trove, straight to her clit. “Mmm, baby.”
T’Challa trailed his tongue from her neck to her back and traced along the wing-shaped scars that decorated Nia’s exposed back, making her shiver.
The elevator doors swished open on his floor, and he walked her forward until they reached his door. Instead of unlocking it, he pressed her into the cold vibranium and ran his tongue down past the strings of her halter top to the dimples in her back. He pulled down her skirt and underwear, and she moaned as he took a bite of her left cheek then her right.
“T-T’Challa… baby, we should go insi-hmmm.”
T’Challa’s fingers on one hand had made their way to her dripping center and slowly circled her opening, and the other slapped her ass, making it bounce in his face. Nia moaned from the impact of the strike, and the pain radiated throughout her body, turning more and more pleasurable with every inch it spanned.
“Nobody is up here,” he rasped. “And I will hear them coming before they catch us.”
“You want it that bad?”
“You have no idea, sithandwa.”
Slap!
Nia’s eyes rolled to the back, and her teeth clamped down on her bottom lip.
“T’Challa,” Nia whined.
“Again.”
“T’Challa!”
“Mmmm.”
T’Challa’s tongue replaced his fingers without notice, and Nia’s hips jutted out, pressing his face deeper into her cheeks. He sucked on her clit, twirling his tongue around the bundle of nerves while precum dripped out of his own hardened dick into his silk drawers.
He ate her with the precision of a man on a mission to make his woman rain down his beard, and that she did. His tongue swiped up her juices, lapping at her plump folds while she keened loudly.
“That f-feels so good.”
Nia’s legs wobbled as she deepened her arch and reached back, pushing his face deeper into her pussy. She braced herself on the door with her other hand while T’Challa ravaged her. His tongue explored her hungrily while he freed himself from the constraints of his pants, stroking his length with one hand and holding on tight to Nia’s ass with the other. There wasn’t an inch of her pussy he neglected, and he drank from her when she blessed him with another orgasm.
While she was still twitching, he stood up lightning fast, and slid into her warmth, making her cry out in the empty hallway.
“Fuck, baby,” Nia hissed. She loved the stretch of him spreading her walls open and plunging deep inside, and the way his breath tickled her ear as he whispered filthy words of affirmation to her made Nia’s body tremble.
“You take me so well, Nia. Such a good girl. Always ready for me.”
“Yes.”
T’Challa’s hand wrapped around her throat and pulled her face towards his, opening his mouth and meeting her for a sloppy kiss, tongue first. He could taste the wine on her lips from dinner, and she could taste herself on his tongue as he stroked her deep, pushing her front up against the door.
“You like when I fuck you like this, don't you?”
“Mmm, yes, baby.”
T’Challa looked down between them and admired the way his dick shined with her juices.
“Got your pussy dripping for me.”
He reached around front and fingered her clit, making her hips buck back into him.
“Oooh, just like that. Throw it back on your king.”
“I’ve got a-a better idea,” Nia moaned as she wound her hips on him and his teeth sank into her neck.
“Talk to me, sithandwa.” T’Challa was struggling to keep it together with the way she was gripping his length.
“Let me ride you, baby.”
He pulled back from her neck and gazed into her eyes, burying his dick deep inside her.
“You want to bounce on my dick?” T’Challa teased.
Nia bit her lip and nodded, which prompted T’Challa to pull her lip out and suck on it as he drove into her repeatedly.
“Yes!”
“Get inside,” he growled and unlocked his door with his beads, slapping her on her ass and making her yelp. He pulled out from her, and she reached back for his hand, leading him inside the king’s suite.
Nia looked over her shoulder and admired the way his dick bobbed against his muscular thigh. It looked so delicious that she turned around and sat on the corner of the bed, pulling him closer to her face. Her mouth fell open, and the tip of her tongue flickered at the underside of his head as she led him into her warmth.
“Fuck, Nia,” T’Challa groaned, his hand resting on the back of her head, gripping her braids as she slurped up and down his shaft.
Spit and precum foamed around her mouth and dripped down her chin onto the tops of her breasts, and T’Challa needed to see more. He undid the ties on her halter top and snatched it off her body, freeing her breasts for his lustful gaze. He reached down and played with her nipples, making her hum around him as she took him down her throat.
Nia loved the taste of him alone, but the taste of them both drove her wild, and she got lost in the rhythm of sucking T’Challa’s dick. His moans filled the suite along with the loud slurping sounds Nia made around him until she pulled off of him and licked around his balls. She pressed her knuckles into his gooch while her tongue and lips took care of his sack and her other hand worked his shaft, her thumb swirling over his bulbous head.
“F-fuck, Nia,” T’Challa shuddered. “I’m almost there; keep doing me just like that.”
Nia rolled her knuckles just behind his balls, pressing into his prostate from the outside, and she felt his dick start to twitch. His breathing grew quicker, and his toes dug into his sandals while the muscles in his thighs tightened up. She quickly moved her mouth from his balls to the tip of his dick and took him in once more while he shot down her throat. Nia swallowed every drop before pulling off of him and stroking his dick, making sure she got every drop. He had more to give, so he spilled over her hand, and she licked up the mess, staring up at him with her big doe eyes.
She reached up and undid the buttons on his tunic before pushing it off his shoulders.
“Get on the bed.”
T’Challa was already sated from his release, but his dick was still hard and in her hand, so who was he to argue? The king climbed onto the bed and adjusted the pillows behind him as he sat against the headboard. Nia crawled over to him and settled herself on his lap.
“You think you’re ready for me? A queen?” Nia asked, and T’Challa’s eyes darkened with lust, making Nia giggle. “Will you let your queen ride you?”
T’Challa’s jaw tightened, and his nostrils flared.
“Answer me,” Nia whispered against his lips.
“Yes, my queen.”
Nia pressed her lips to his, and he welcomed her by parting his lips and making way for her tongue. She explored his mouth and lifted her hips, placing his dick at her entrance and squatting down on it so that it filled her up. When she was seated on his lap again, his length fully inside her, she began to rock in his lap, her hips cycloning and grinding her clit into his pelvis. Her movements were fluid as she rocked on him, and she eventually transitioned into lifting her hips and sliding back down.
T’Challa stared at her with admiration in his eyes. This woman, his woman, loved him.
“Tell me you love me.”
Nia smiled and kissed him.
“Ngiyakuthanda, T’Challa.”
T’Challa reached between them and fondled her clit, making her throw her head back in ecstasy. He latched onto her throat, and his hands gripped her hips, guiding her up and down his erection.
“Do you mean it?”
Nia placed her hands around his face and forced him to look at her in her eyes.
“I love you, baby. I mean it with my whole self. I’m sorry I didn’t see it sooner, I-” her voice cracked, and tears brimmed her eyes. “I was scared.”
T’Challa’s hands stilled Nia’s hips.
“Of what?”
“Of a few things. Being your queen, for one, but also loving someone means giving them the space to hurt you. Their actions, their words, their death-”
“Nia, I would never do anything to hurt you. You should know that by now-”
“I do.”
“I love you,” he pleaded.
“I love you, too.”
T’Challa spread his legs and thrust up into Nia with slow, precise strokes.
“You’re a queen in your own right, without me. You’re a goddess. You’re magic… Nia, I’d be a fool not to love you.”
Nia held onto his shoulders as he pounded up into her, hitting all her favorite spots while her breasts bounced in his face.
“Baby, I-”
“I know, I feel it. Let it out, love.”
T’Challa pushed Nia further up the mountaintop to her peak, where she seized up on top of him and covered him in her juices. The way her pussy gripped his length almost made him explode again, but he flipped them over so that she was on her back and dug deep into her.
Their bodies collided throughout the night as they celebrated both their victory and their love. T’Challa’s orgasms wracked through his body more intensely each time than the time before, and by his fourth, the strength of the Black Panther gave out. Nia giggled as he covered her neck with kisses and held her waist tight against him as he spooned behind her, his flaccid dick still resting in her depths.
“I’m glad you gave everybody the week off.”
T’Challa chuckled in her ear.
“That tired?”
“Mhm.”
T’Challa placed a kiss behind her ear.
“Get some sleep, sithandwa. I have big plans for you in the morning.”
“What plans?”
“Worry about that in the morning.”
“T’Challa, what pl-”
“Good night, my queen.”

My Marvel Zombies AU’s & HC’s & Ideas:
Based On the What If Episode:
* Since Peter’s webs only last two hours he probably had to either redo the sky base over and over again or they had to keep moving.
* At first Peter was probably paired with Happy, Kurt and Hope came from San Fran together, Bucky and Sharon teamed up and then Okoye came last alone and that’s how they came together.
* Spider-Man has a decent chance at winning against Thanos since he can probably easily rip the mad titans decaying arm off - Gauntlet included.
* Scarlet Witch is no longer a threat cause she’s no longer in that universe at all. (Oof what if that causes an incursion?)
* Peter, Shuri, and Scott may actually be the only hope for the world in Wakanda for now - them being the most likely to concoct a cure.
* Peter’s one of the more careful of his multiversal counterparts cause his phone isn’t cracked lol.
* Hope probably enlarged ants for Peter to hang around with.
* T’Challa takes Peter under his wing because hey he already has a little sister, a little brother isn’t anything too new.
* The Cloak of Levitation flits between Scott and Peter, mainly staying with Scott’s head for transport and stuff but Levi probably sleeps with Peter to help his nightmares.
* De facto leader of the main squad was Hope since she assumed responsibility but Bucky did a lot of the dirty/hard work, while Sharon acted like the leader but was not.
* Kurt somehow made the best food with what little they had, man was frying food they didn’t know could be fried and they loved it.
* Happy helped a lot with the cooking.
* Happy took main responsibility over Peter, but once Hope entered the picture he got displaced in the slightest. Still he worried and denied letting Peter do reconnaissance and such at the start - not trusting Hope to keep him safe but had to relent do to circumstance.
* Hope did not take needing Peter’s help lightly, terrified and ashamed because they clearly asked a lot of him. Peter making them their structures and handling the heavy stuff, not to mention his spider-sense.
* Sometimes they all got really annoyed by Spider-Man constantly recording and taking pictures but they figured his little hobby was keeping him happy so they try not to be snappy but Bucky and Sharon fail at that from time to time.
* Peter has a massive hand sanitizer collection, they all appreciate it and wonder where the hell he’s keeping them and getting them.
* Shuri, Peter, and Scott watch horror movies together in Wakanda, eventually T’Challa and the other Dora Milaje join in and start to understand Peter’s references.
* They manage to get vision back who is very confused about what happened to zombie Wanda but they have no explanation so he resolved himself to helping them advance to find a cure.

Based On the Released Show Information:
* Since we don’t see the queen herself, Xialing, assuming that she is gone: Shang-Chi becomes protective of Kamala, taking her in as a little sister figure since he didn’t get to be with Xialing growing up.
* Deathdealer notices and is like we should train her how to fight like us and Shang-Chi gets super defensive because he won’t let Deathdealer train her after he trained him.
* Kate helps Katy get better with her bow, and there ends up being so much confusing and funny/scary moments when their similar names/ skill sets get them into trouble.
* Kate has to kill Zombie Clint but timeline wise she doesn’t know him personally but it still breaks her heart she has to kill her childhood hero. (Makes sense because in the art we see his zombie corpse filled with her arrows)
* Since it seems like Shang-Chi has been bit since his arm is decaying and the rings are stopping the process, Kamala often worries about him and he worries he’ll turn and hurt Kamala so to make him feel better she crystalizes over her skin around him so if he did turn and bite her he couldn’t.
* This new gang runs into the SKRULL gang, and they all randomly expect a fight but then their like wtf would we fight let’s help eachother and they merge.
* In the What If Episode they say the Virus is brain stuff and since we see zombie Ikarus we know even as androids they have brains so, all those left alive are baffled because ikarus is not a superhero they’ve seen before but clearly his outfit designated him as one before hand.
* Kate and Yelena don’t get along at first at all, but warm up to one another.
* Alexei is actually really protective of Yelena in this setting. Doing more dangerous stuff since his armor will protect him more than her outfit does.
* Jimmy Woo is the dad of the group, especially towards Kamala and Shang-Chi
* Katy, Shang-Chi, and Kamala on more than on occasion have given their position away from being too loud
* Yelena has berated both Alexei and Shang-Chi for trying to punch a zombie in the face, claiming it’s why Shang-Chi’s arm is probably infected cause he cut his skin on teeth.
* Jimmy is weirdly competent with Death dealers throwing knives, mainly cause his magic trick practice.
* Yelena, Jimmy, and maybe even one of the SKRULLs is who figures out a signal that tells them to head to Wakanda.
* Yelena teaches Kate some moves, as does Deathdealer, but Yelena oversees that and makes sure it doesn’t get too much for her.
* RAIN CHECK I FOUND ON THE ART THING WE DO SEE WANDA IS BACK IN THEIR UNIVERSE SOMEHOW SO CONSIDER HER A THREAT
* Ghost is probably the scariest zombie, because she can still utilize her power so she is the biggest threat.
* Zombie Abomination is a great physical attacker so Shang-Chi uses the rings against him but since it’s muscle memory, abomination puts up a good fight since his lessons with Wong.
* Shang-Chi bemoans seeing abomination like “I know you! Cant you give me a break!” But since Emil is a zombie it doesn’t really matter. Just yells and attacks while Shang-Chi sighs and groans and fights.
* Zombie Okoye nearly gets back into Wakanda because she has the key with her tattoed lip.
* Kamala doesn’t know what to feel about zombie captain marvel, terrified and broken. But it’s her who has to defend against her hero.
* I’m sorry someone’s gonna laugh at zombie cap still fighting while cut in half.
* Also braggadoom is who my friends and I assume is the big guy in the back but that’s speculation since we’ve never seen him in mcu canon.
* No idea if we will see how Namor and his people will handle the virus or if they’ll have to underwater. Who knows.
Someday I’ll have even more but for now enjoy all this.

Ah, the next What If? is the zombie episode. I'm really not a zombie fan, unless it's silly music like Re: Your Brains. Zombie stuff just tends to be gory and gross and kinda boring to me. But hopefully I'll enjoy the episode anyway.
Aww, poor Bruce lands in Zombie land. No one there to greet him. Well... Levi the cape is there.
Bruce is so pleased to see Tony and the others at first and then... they turn out to be zombies. Love that cape for saving Bruce. :D Bruce's "Don't eat me!" is pretty hilarious.
Alright, so this is erring on the side of zig-zagging across the line that it's actually pretty comedic.
The Watcher is looking more person shaped. A physical manifestation of his character development.
Peter's 'survive the apocalypse' video is so in character for him. And the part with Bucky is hilarious.
Okoye - We don't need horror movies, we have American reality tv.
She's got a point.
Happy saying "blam" when he shoots the gauntlet is adorable. And now he and Sharon are gonna die. I think that's the other thing I don't like about zombie movies and horror in general. All the character death.
Well, Sharon's doing pretty well for herself, but I'm still convinced she's gonna die. :( But her saying "blam"when she turns the gauntlet on the now Zombie!Happy? Priceless.
Back to Camp Lehigh (Le High?) which feels like a trap.
Hey, Sharon made it to the train. But there's a zombie about to kill her anyway. She came so close to surviving. Oooh, it's Steve. And of course Bucky has to face him next.
Okoye - The kid has hand sanitizer.
Crosses the line so many times.
Aww, Hope. And Peter trying to help her keep hope.
And now Hope is gonna be a giant zombie. :(
Vision showing up should be a good thing... but it feels ominous.
Scott is a head in a jar.
Okoye - Don't cry, you'll fog up your jar.
So Vision may have 'saved' Scott, it seems like he hasn't been able to save Wanda. ah, okay, so Vision can't save her 'cause she's too powerful. So instead of saving the rest of the world, he just feeds her instead.
Honestly? Don't like this version of Vision. Don't feel sorry for him either. This guy could not pick up Thor's hammer anymore, that's for sure.
Well, there goes Okoye. And Vision. And Bucky. And now Bruce is running into the zombie horde... I wonder if the Hulk can become a zombie.
I hope not.
Giant zombie Hope, I called it. Scott's so sad to see her that way.
So now they're headed to Wakanda. Supposedly a safe place. I'm assuming it's not.
oh. Yeah. Thanos. What's he doing in Wakanda? He's got the green time stone, so... maybe zombie strange was destroying Wakanda with the time stone and that drew Thanos there? About the only scenario that makes sense to me, anyway.
Yeah that was pretty funny. Enough that I enjoyed it, anyway. But probably not gonna be my favorite episode.
