Reminder that Stonewall wasn’t about marriage equality. Stonewall was about police brutality. It was about systemic abuse and subordination. Stonewall was spearheaded by black trans women. As we celebrate Pride 2020, within the context of the Black Lives Matter riots, it’s imperative that we remember that.

Riots in protest of police brutality are the reason that we have more rights today. Do not forget your roots.

You can’t celebrate Pride while simultaneously condemning the Black Lives Matter riots and protests that are happening right now. Know your history.

for people who are unaware of why the riots in minneapolis started happening, here’s the facts:

it wasn’t george floyd’s protesters who started reacting violently; it was the cops.

the protest was peaceful until the cops showed up in riot gear, and started using water cannons, followed up by tear gas and rubber bullets. i got videos from friends who were there, of people screaming and running away from the cops shooting the water cannons, rubber bullets and throwing tear gas at them. they were even shooting at the protesters dragging people away to get medical attention.

speaking of medical attention, dispatch refused to provide any medical attention to the protesters. people literally had to drive their bleeding friends to the hospital because they refused to send ambulances.

cops are using non-lethal weapons in a lethal way. they shot rubber bullets into people’s heads and injured them. there’s dozens of photos of protesters with bleeding head wounds from the rubber bullets.

multiple people used police scanners and heard that there were undercover cops pretending to be violent protesters who were throwing rocks and whatnot at the police, with dozens of eyewitness accounts confirming that information.

the person who instigated all the chaos last night (it was a fire at an autozone) with the looting and burning buildings is highly suspected to be an undercover cop pretending to be a protester, because the video of him keeps getting taken down. protesters tried to stop him but couldn’t because he had a hammer and they were scared for their safety.

the cops jammed cell phone towers and cut live streams to interrupt broadcasts and to prevent people from seeing what was really going on and who actually started the violence.

the cops lied about protesters being armed and about throwing rocks and are literally trying to continue the violence happening and yet no one is holding them accountable for that.

and during all this, the cop that murdered george floyd still hasn’t been arrested. he has had more than ten complaints filed against him and was involved in three other civilian shootings in the past. and yet he’s still out free along with his three other buddies involved, probably sitting on his couch while all this chaos is happening.

so don’t get it twisted. the cops just want to change the narrative to make it look like they’re the wounded and righteous party, when they’re the ones who started reacting violently in the first place and are still acting violently. so don’t you ever forget who started this tragedy and murdered someone, and who are continuing to react to the situation with violence.

“Alright then, hear me out babe.” The slytherin started, sliding the sleeves of her cloak up her arms, whipping her hands forward as she raised one into the air. Her girlfriend lifted a brow, tilting her head as she regarded her paramour clad in black and green.

“I am already listening.”

“Shush,” the slytherin raises her hands as if listening to phantom music. “Imagine... detective pikachu as a rock oper—”

“Absolutely not,” the flower clad girl crossed her arms while staring incredulously at her girlfriend. “I think when you buzzed your hair off you buzzed some of your brain cells too. No, never. A pikachu rock opera?”

“Oh come on... it would be electrifying.” The slytherin’s girlfriend tried to keep her face straight, but it was impossible as nothing about her was straight. They both snorted a laugh, the joke horrible. “You know you wanna. Just... hear me out. A long ballad about thunder meeting lightning, the drums beating, guitar swelling, and on stage... Bam! Smoke, lightning! The man! The myth! The legend! Pikachu!”

“Your idea has merits... but it’s too weak,” the music loving girl turned back to her piano, casting a cheeky smirk and wink over her shoulder as she shaked her hair off her shoulder. “If I were to spend my talents on a Rock Opera, it would be about Princess Peach.”

There was a thump on the bench, a warm body pressing up next to her’s. Warm eyes glanced down, watching calloused gloved hands pull out a sketchbook and pencil. When she looked up, all she saw was adoration, excitement and curiousity. The soft lips she found herself kissing often during breaks were busy getting bitten.

“I have no idea what you’re thinking and I want to know everything,” those same lips pressed themselves against her cheek. “Please enlightenment you beautiful, beautiful genius.”

Hear me out: butch fine arts slytherin dating their musician trans girlfriend. Both are nerds and both are chaotic.

"No you cannot turn the bubble guppies into a musical." Her voice trimmed with exasperation. This arguement was definitely one they had just started.

"Ok but you litterally cannot stop me and I've already written a song." Her fingers started dancing across the keys. Her girlfriend in the doorway facepalmed.

"What's the plot? Wheres the story? Is it an episode is it their origin story, I need development, that's a theme song that's not story." She shouted over the loud notes.

"That's what you're for. I make the music you make the story." She smiled, stopping her playing. "We'll be the female version of Rodgers and Hammerstein."

Running a hand thru her recently buzzed hair, the slytherin in the doorway sighed, throwing her hands up in defeat. "But it's the Bubble Guppies!"

Straightening her flower crown, the girl the piano huffed. "My art is an acquired taste. If you don't like it, acquire some taste!"

A moment of silence passed. Her broad shoulders sunk in defeat. "I dont know why I like you."

"I do. It's because I'm talented."

"That you are. Does it have to be bubble guppies. Cant it be like, the backyardigans or somthing."

"I'm open to suggestions."
