24 hours of Christmas <3

Different haikyuu characters x reader

A/n: 24 different haikyuu characters and each will get a ~100 words drabble about how they spend Christmas with you! All soft and gender neutral I think (tell me if I missed something though), no warnings here! <3

5:00 am - Ushijima

"Toshi?"

You sleepily reach for him and grab his shirt. He pauses and turns to you, just a dark silhouette in the dimly lit room.

"Go back to sleep, y/n. I'll be back when you wake up." He talks lowly, but his deep voice still fills the room in a comforting way. Reassuringly, he grabs your hand, and his thumb rubs circles on the back of your hand. "I thought you'd stay with me. It's Christmas." He hesitates and thinks about this for a second. Then, you feel the bed dip under his weight, and he pulls your body against his. "You're right. I should take a rest day. And it's Christmas." He maneuvers your body until your back presses against his chest, his warmth making you feel comforted instantly. His body entangled with yours, that's how you fall asleep again with a content smile on your face.

6:00 am - Yamaguchi

Craftsmen start their days early.

And craftsmen also work on holidays.

Two things that you had to get used to after dating Yamaguchi Tadashi for years now. Your boyfriend has to work the early Christmas shift today, which is not surprising to you.

What you didn't expect, though, was to find a fully decorated table with breakfast and a sweet note when you wake up too. "Merry Christmas! I'll miss you today, my love! Enjoy your present and breakfast and wait for me until I'm home - I want to spend the day with you <3"

7:00 am - Tendou

"Babe," he grins while he presses a kiss against your lips. You can taste the chocolate on his lips; he probably stole a bit or two while preparing all the Christmas cakes at work. "Satori, why do you still have so much energy? You probably worked 8 hours non-stop." You sleepily smile back and grab his shirt weakly to pull him in for another kiss. "The thought of coming back to you filled me with energy. Wanna spend the day with you and watch cheesy Christmas movies. I have a list of the most trashy romances. Wanna get started now?"

You groan and rub your eyes. "Maybe just a short nap? And then we can get started?"

"Okay, babe. But I might eat your special Christmas cake while you sleep." He grins mischievously, and you gasp while you hastily push back the blanket and chase him to the kitchen.

"Don't you dare!"

8:00 am - Hinata

"Shoyo," you giggle while he buries his face in the crook of your neck, feeling his soft hair tickling your cheek. "I don't wanna get up, y/n. Let's stay in bed a bit longer."

"You told me that there is a Christmas volleyball match. You told me it's a great idea to go there." You softly laugh when he whines while he keeps you from getting up. "I know. But maybe it's a bad idea. Maybe we should just stay here." You know that he's not serious, so you decide to play into his game. "Yes, Tobio can tell us about it later, huh?" Hinata raises his head instantly. "No way! Y/n, we need to go. Come!" He gently grabs your hands and directs you to the bathroom, and you let him lead you with a smile.

9:00 am - Nishinoya

"Look at this!" He excitedly points towards a dolphin, and you quickly snap a picture with your camera. "I got it, Yuu!"

If somebody had told you that you would spend Christmas in the middle of nowhere in the ocean, you would have laughed. But here you are, with only Nishinoya Yuu and more fish than you could ever count around you- and you actually couldn't be happier. "Do you want to go diving later? I have all the equipment for us." You grin and nod enthusiastically.

"That sounds great!"

10 am - Tsukishima

"Did you see my glasses, y/n?"

"I didn't- wait, I got them." You fish for them on the table, and he stands perfectly still while you place them on his nose. You smile and press a quick peck to his lips, ignoring his playful snicker after the action. "I should probably get a new pair anyway. My eyes got worse lately." He sighs, and you grin mischievously.

"Maybe you'll get a new pair from Santa tonight? Do you think you've been a good boy?"

He rolls his eyes, and you whine when he squinches your cheeks. "Careful, or else you will not get anything from Santa this year too."

You freeze at his words, thinking about the beautifully wrapped gift that you have spotted under the tree.

"I'm sorry, Kei! Please forgive me! Hey, don't walk away. KEI!"

11:00 am - Sugawara

"Did you-"

"Yes, I put the salad in the car already. We're ready, y/n, don't worry." He looks fondly at you, and you embarrassedly rub the back of your neck. "I just want it all to be perfect."

"I know." He caresses your cheek and looks into your eyes. "And it will be perfect. As long as we're together, it will always be." You nod and place your hand over his, feeling his warmth against your cheek. "Let's go then?"

His hand moves to your hand and grabs it gently.

"Let's go."

12:00 pm - Oikawa

"How does it feel?"

"How does what feel?"

"Knowing that you'll get the perfect present tonight?" Oikawa smiles, and you pretend to think hard for a second.

"I don't know. You tell me?" His eyes widen, surprised, and then he laughs happily. "I can't even fight with that. You always have the best presents for me."

You playfully puff your chest, and he laughs even louder.

"That's why I love you, y/n."

"I love you too, Tooru."

1:00 pm - Kageyama

"Tobio, can you help me with the dress?"

"Yes." You hear him yell, and after a few moments, you find your handsome boyfriend in a suit right behind you. He is quick to move behind you and to close the zipper of your dress, his hands warm and skillful as he makes sure not to twist the zipper in the process.

He looks at you when he finishes, and his gaze softens.

"You look amazing, y/n."

"You too." You smile, and he leans down to peck your lips quickly.

"Let's go then?"

2:00 pm - Bokuto

His hand grabs yours firmly, and you thankfully scoot closer to him. He wraps an arm around you, and you feel warmer instantly. "You okay, baby?" You nod and smile at him, and he grins almost blindingly at you. "You look so cute, baby. With your cap and your scarf." He pecks your lips, and you grab his hand a bit tighter, already getting flustered.

"We have to hurry, though. Or else we'll be late at my sister's." He pouts cutely, and you quickly peck his lips to cheer him up - successfully. "Don't worry. We'll be on time for the Christmas dinner."

He nods at your reassurance and wraps his arm around you, and you cuddle against him while you both enjoy each other's near.

3:00 pm - Akaashi

"Keiji?" "Hmm?" he hums and raises his gaze. "You're reading a Christmas story, right?" He nods, his eyes following you curiously when you simply lay down on the couch and rest your head on his lap.

"Do you want to read it to me?"

He smiles and caresses your cheeks lovingly. "It's a funny Christmas story, actually. It needs a bit of proofreading, that's for sure, but it has potential."

You smile at him, leaning your face into his palm.

"Sounds good. Read to me then?"

"Yes, my love."

4:00 pm - Osamu

His arms wrap around you, and you smile when you feel his chest pressing against your back.

"What's my lovely wife doing here? Smells delicious." He buries his nose in your hair, and you smile while you pat his hand on your stomach.

"Just some Christmas cookies. Do you want to help me with the frosting?"

"Hmm." He nods but makes no attempt to move but continues to hold you. "Samu?"

"Just a little bit longer. Missed ya all day." He tilts your cheek and presses a slow, loving kiss against your lips, and you happily return it.

5:00 pm - Aran

"Have you seen the-"

He stops mid-sentence when he sees you with his Christmas-themed tie. You shake your head with a smile while you come closer to help him with it. "I can't believe you're actually wearing it. It's a fashion crime."

He sighs, his eyes closing for a short second while he probably regrets ever having met the Miya twins. "I'm sorry, love. It's just one night. I'll never wear it again. We can burn it after that."

You softly laugh and rest your hands on his broad chest after you finished fixing the tie. "It's okay. I will not leave you because of a piece of cloth. No matter how ugly it is." You scrunch your nose when you look at the atrocity adorning your handsome boyfriend's chest, and he laughs softly at your words.

"That's why I love you."

6:00 pm - Suna

"You're just like the Grinch." You scrunch your nose and look at your husband. He just rolls his eyes and darts towards the Christmas tree. "If I'm the Grinch, then why are there multiple presents for you under this tree?" You cross your arms in front of your chest and pout.

"Why don't you want to watch the Grinch then?"

"Not wanting to watch the Grinch makes me a Grinch?"

You quickly realize the holes in your argumentation and make an attempt to leave the room in silent shame, but Suna is quick enough to catch you and to wrap his arms around you.

"Nah-uh, no escaping from the Grinch. Come on. Let's watch it then."

7:00 pm - Matsukawa

A lazy grin is on his lips when he bites into the last cookie, his eyes rolling back at the exquisite taste.

"Don't you dare to finish this one alone! I swear to god, I'll leave you! I'll hand in a divorce, Matsukawa Issei! No more Mrs. Matsukawa, just imagine how lonely and cold your bed will be without me!" You playfully throw your hands and give him the most intimidating glare you can manage, and he is quick to surrender.

"I give up. Come here, Mrs. Matsukawa. I saved a whole cookie for you." He grins even wider when he shows you another cookie that he hid in his other hand, and you smile and sit down next to him.

"I actually love you, hubby, you know that, right?"

“Are you only saying that because you want the cookie?“

“…is it working?“

8:00 pm - Asahi

"Come here." He opens his arms, and you quickly join him on the couch and allow him to wrap his arms around you. You rest your face against his chest, and he presses a kiss to your head.

"That was a great first Christmas together." You nod and turn your face to him, only to see him watching you with soft eyes. "I think it was great too." You glance down towards the Christmas sweaters that both of you are wearing, the ones that he actually designed himself and feel your heart swell with affection and love for this man.

A great Christmas indeed.

9:00 pm - Hoshiumi

"I can't believe you beat me at golf." He sighs and falls dramatically back to the couch, and you move around the humongous Christmas tree to follow him. "It was literally Wii Sports. I don't even think the console is properly working." You lay down next to him, and he wraps his arms around you energetically. "No, babe. I just have the best partner ever. Someone who is able to beat a professional athlete at Wii Sports? That's either a Christmas miracle or pure talent."

You giggle and allow him to press a kiss to your lips.

"Maybe both."

10:00 pm - Sakusa

You place the last plate in the dishwasher and finally turn on the machine. "I'm done with the kitchen, Kiyoomi!" You yell and grab a bottle of mulled wine and two mugs.

"I finished the living room too." You hear Sakusa answer, and he suddenly appears behind you in the kitchen while you set a pot on the stove and empty the bottle into it.

He raises an eyebrow and looks at you. "Do you want to drink a glass with me?" you ask, and he nods. "I definitely need it after today." He groans, and you softly laugh. "I'm just glad that I got to spend the day with you. No matter how stressful it was." He smiles and pulls you against his body, and you happily wrap your arms around him.

"I love you too."

11 pm - Atsumu

"Not to be that person, but there's a mistletoe above us."

"And?" You put your hands on your hips and look at your blonde boyfriend with a pout. "And that means we have to kiss." He taps his lips with his finger, and you softly laugh at his cute pouty face.

"No, I meant, and why aren't we kissing already?"

You giggle when he eagerly places his hands on your hips and leans down to connect your lips with his, and you wrap your arms around his neck while you kiss him back.

"Merry Christmas."

12:00 am - Kita

"We should go to bed." You yawn and look at the fireplace in front of you, already dreading to leave the warm spot. "We could also sleep here? I can get the blankets and we'll just stay here?" You look at him with stars in your eyes at his words, and he can't suppress a fond smile at your reaction. "Sounds good!"

It doesn't take Kita long to come back with enough blankets and pillows to make you feel like you're in your actual bed. "I think that's enough, Shin. Just come here, please?"

He nods and quickly joins you under the blankets.

And that's how you fall asleep - wrapped in each other's arms while the room is softly illuminated by the fire.

1:00 am - Kuroo

You frown upon noticing that the light in the living room is still on. Slowly getting to your feet, you move towards the living room, where you spot your husband on the couch, softly snoring despite the brightly lit room. He was probably quite tired after the Christmas party at work that, unfortunately, you could not attend. Quickly dimming the light, you go back to the living room to grab a few blankets before approaching him. You set the blankets down and gently work on his tie- and he suddenly blinks tiredly at you.

"Y/n?"

"Shh, it's me—just let me remove your tie, then we can go back to bed." He hums softly, and when you caress his cheek, he turns his face towards you and kisses your palm.

It doesn't take long for you to get under the sheets with him comfortably, and he instinctively wraps his arms around you, pulling you close.

"Good night, Tetsu."

"G'night, love."

2 am - Kenma

"Merry Christmas, everyone. I'm gonna go now."

He skims through some comments, and his eyes linger on one.

"Where is y/n? Y/n will come tomorrow. If y/n's up for it, we might stream together."

He smiles at the prospect of seeing you tomorrow—finally. It's been way too long. "Y/n and I will just stay at my place tomorrow. Nothing special planned. We haven't seen each other in a while, so we just want to relax and catch up."

His eyes suddenly spot one comment from a user that is well-known to him, and he feels a blush creeping up his cheeks.

"Miss you, my kitty. See you tomorrow! <3"

3 am - Makki

"I can't believe that we played Monopoly till 3 am."

You try to hide your yawn, but he definitely notices. "It was a great gift from me then, right? We should get some rest, though; you can barely keep your eyes open."

"You're right." You yawn again, and he gently grabs your hand, helping you get up. "Come on, y/n. Enough Christmas Monopoly for today. Let's go to bed."

You nod, and he says, "I don't know if you have enough money to pay for a night with me. My cuddles are expensive." He looks at the non-existent amount of money on your side, and you playfully smack his arm.

"Hey! Careful, or you can sleep on the couch!"

"Please, no!"

4 am - Daichi

"Sawamura?" You yawn when the bed dips with his weight, and a rather cool body presses against yours. "Sorry, love. I didn't mean to wake you." You blindly press a kiss where you suspect his lips are but only find his cheek, and he softly chuckles. "Let us catch some sleep, and then we'll have our fancy Christmas dinner, okay?"

You nod and press yourself closer against him, happy that he is finally here with you in bed.

"Sounds good."

okay the question is, is it:

A) Daichi who follows Asahi around saying "back when I was your age" and describing what he did 4 and a half hours ago, or generally making a menace of himself being born "a whole year before you"

or is it B) Asahi that consistently over-formalizes his language towards Daichi because he "respects the elderly," or intentionally makes up slang and tells him he wouldn't "understand the youth,"

or is it C) Suga pretending he isn't annoyed that neither of them care that he's actually the oldest

Fun fluffy animes that I loved

This is basically a list of animes that helps get over or deal with the trauma inflicted by various animes. At the moment, I guess fellow JJK fans might need this, and prolly AOT fans on November 5. Have fun watching

Haikyuu

Short Synopsis: Determined to be like the volleyball championship's star player nicknamed "the small giant", Shoyo joins his school's volleyball club.

Episodes: 85 + 5 OVA

The worst thing that can possibly happen is either the 3rd year students graduating or you being unable to support a specific team (nah cuz bro how do you pick and root for one? I end up being happy for the team that won and depressed for the team that lost)

Two movies are coming up soon

Highschool Babysitters

Synopsis: After the sudden death of their parents on a plane crash, two young brothers named Ryūichi Kashima (a freshman in high school) and his younger brother Kotarō (a preschooler) are left orphaned and having no place to call home. The chairwoman of the prestigious Morinomiya Academy offers to take the boys into her care, giving them a new house and free tuition, on the condition that Ryuichi helps out with the school's daycare center while also attending normal classes during school hours.

Episodes: 12 + 1 OVA

Note: Plane crash seems sad but trust me, its only mentioned in the first episode, and the rest 11 is just fluffy goodness. Nothing can prepare you for the cuteness.

Cells At Work

Synopsis: One newcomer red blood cell just wants to do her job. Between bacteria incursions and meeting a certain white blood cell, she's got a lot to learn.

Episodes: 31 + 7

A good mix of science and entertainment. The episodes dont have to be watched in any specific order.

Mr. Osomatsu

Synopsis: The everyday lives of identical sextuplets who cause mischief.

Episodes: 75 + special eps + movies

Has a good amount of 18+ jokes, but its not too overwhelming. It doesnt necessarily follow a plot, and each episode is usually two different stories combined. So, skipping episodes should be fine. Also, it features very popular voice actors for the sextuplets (Geto's VA, Gojo's VA, Levi's VA, Koro sensei's VA, Erwin's VA and Haku/ Sugawara's VA), Iyami (Obanai Iguro's VA), Totoko (Shoko's VA)

The Vampire Dies in No Time

Synopsis: The story follows the famed vampire hunter, Ronaldo, who receives a job to destroy the supposedly invincible vampire lord Draluc and rescue a human boy he allegedly kidnapped.

Episodes: 24

Note: Its a hit or miss, the running gag is used constantly and gets tiring at times, but the overall anime is a good watch. I personally loved John the Armadillo

Buddy Daddies

Synopsis: Assassins Kazuki Kurusu and Rei Suwa meet Miri, a girl looking for her father on Christmas Day. Kazuki, Rei, and Miri unexpectedly end up living together.

Episodes: 12

May get dark at times, so I wont guarantee that itll be a smooth sail, but we get a wholesome conclusion so you can count on that! Otherwise VERY fluffy

Blue Lock

Synopsis: High school soccer players from across Japan gather for a controversial project designed to create the best and most egoistic striker in the world.

Episodes: 24

Isnt exactly true football, but yeah. The anime is pretty fine. It doesnt exactly go under the fluffy anime like i mentioned in the title, but you can check it out if you want.

Free!!

Synopsis: The story is centered on high school student Haruka Nanase, a gifted swimmer. After encountering his childhood rival, Rin Matsuoka from Samezuka Academy, he and his friends revitalize Iwatobi High School's swim team.

Episodes: 37 + specials and movies

This anime to me, personally is what haikyuu is. A great comfort anime which knows how to make the viewer connect with the characters. I dislike it when the whole anime gets reduced to just fanservice, like guys lets look beyond that and actually enjoy the plot.

Life Lessons With Uramichi Oniisan

Synopsis: From smoking and exercising to nihilistic outbursts, everyone's big brother Uramichi always brings up the not-so-moral side to his life lessons

Episodes: 13

This one is very real and relatable in many levels. Theres a lot of screenshots and panels available online, so you can check a few out before watching!

Obey Me

Synopsis: Brothers Lucifer, Mammon, Leviathan, Satan, Asmodeus, Beelzebub, and Belphegor are among the most powerful demons in the Devildom, serving as officers on the student council at the Royal Academy of Diavolo (RAD). However, being avatars of the seven deadly sins, their behaviors often tend toward the extreme. Their everyday antics belie their high status and fearsome reputations among others of their kind. When viewed behind the scenes, the members of this family are more lovable—and laughable—than they first seem!

Episodes: 24 + 1

It's based on a popular otome game, and can be watched as it is even if you havent played the game. The basic idea is that theyre based on the 7 sins, so their personalities are really amusing. As for the plot, its pretty wholesome.

Play It Cool Guys

Synopsis: Despite their distinctive personalities, Souma Shiki, Hayate Ichikura, Shun Futami, and Takayuki Mima all have one thing in common: though naturally clumsy, the four disguise their embarrassment from tiny slip-ups by maintaining a composed demeanor. However, it is actually the guys' airheaded natures that makes the girls' hearts throb. No matter what happens in their daily lives, the boys do their best not to lose their cool!

Episodes: 24

Each episode is barely 10-13 minutes, so it just doesnt feel enough lol. Most of their slip ups are relatable and could get a chuckle from the viewer. The art style is a little different but its good. Definitely worth watching, once or even multiple times.

Tanaka Kun is Always Listless

Synopsis: For high school student Tanaka, the act of being listless is a way of life. Known for his inattentiveness and ability to fall asleep anywhere, Tanaka prays that each day will be as uneventful as the last, seeking to preserve his lazy lifestyle however he can by avoiding situations that require him to exert himself. Along with his dependable friend Oota who helps him with tasks he is unable to accomplish, the lethargic teenager constantly deals with events that prevent him from experiencing the quiet and peaceful days he longs for.

Episodes: 13 + specials

Not gonna lie, Ive wanted to act like Tanaka. The characters are lovable and the anime is worth giving a try. An underrated gem. I personally loved the school festival episode.

Secret Santa

It's Christmas Eve in my country, so i thought of doing a Christmas special with my 2 favorites Haikyuu characters. Merry Xmas!!

Sakusa

If there’s something that Sakusa dreads about Christmas season, apart from the cold, is whenever someone wants to do a secret Santa, and when he had to participate in it. Whenever his family or his high school team wanted to do it he groaned in frustration; he just never knew what to give others, always ended up in awkward situations because of them.

Once he entered the Jackals he thought he will be completely free of them, and it would have been that way if only Hinata had stay quiet.

“So who did ya got Omi-omi?” Atsumu ask him once in their locker room

“It’s call secret Santa for a reason, Miya, is a secret” he rolls his eyes ignoring the nickname that Miya keeps using. In his pocket he has the paper that he picked with your name on it, carefully folded to keep it safe. You had been the first person he got close to once entering the team, you were witty and patient, were able to calm Bokuto and Hinata down, keep Miya in lane; he, surprisingly, feels way too comfortable with you around.

“C’mon! Is no fun without telling others! Unless ya got me?!!”

“Thank god you aren’t. Now move, I’m leaving” he says moving away from the blonde one. Despite having a week to buy your present he was already trying to think what to give you. He remembers you mentioning a speaker that you saw, some hair treatment you read about, a book that you been wanting to buy. His mind was so busy that he didn’t see you in front of him.

“Hey Omi-kun, what’s wrong?” you ask

“Eh? Nothing”

“Suure, it’s just weird that you don’t pay to your surroundings” you add with a chuckle. He glares at you softly, not actually trying to intimidate you. He noticed that you were wearing a different lipstick, how did he knew you it was different? He didn’t know, but he did notice the difference “I like your lipstick”

“Thanks! I really like this one, I literally put it in the morning and it hasn’t move at all!” you said excitedly as you show him the product, he looks at the brand and quickly tries to remember it as both of you go out of the gym.

He has an idea now.

The week pass fast and soon enough everyone was gathering around to do the secret Santa thing on Christmas Eve. He wasn’t really paying attention, he would rather be anywhere else than hearing Atsumu rumble about the shoes that Hinata gift him. The only time he paid attention was when it was your time to give Bokuto his gift, he liked watching your reactions.

“Sakusa-san, is your turn” Hinata calls him, making him finally pay attention. He takes the big box he had behind his back, goes to the center of the group with what most will call an annoyed expression (he glares at Miya when he said to be excited) “My secret Santa is Yn”

“Me?” you stand up going beside him, which made his stomach twirl in a funny way. You look at the big box in between his hand, frowning in confusion “What the hell is this Omi? Why is it so big?”

“Just open it and find out” he says shortly, pulling his mask as he feels his face start to go red. You break the wrap off and find the many packs of the lipstick that you said you liked, in all the different colors they had

“Omi! You didn’t seriously buy all of this for me?”

“You say you liked it, of course I’ll buy them for you” he looks away, noticing his teammates smirks

“Omi-Omi, ya knew that the maximum was 15000 ¥, right?” Atsumu asks “would ya have spend that much if it was any of us?”

“Shut up Miya” he says blushing even more, he had completely forgotten about the money limit, the only thought on his head was to make you happy

“Leave him alone Tsum. Thank you Omi, you’re amazing” you hug him by the waist, and even though he tense up once he felt your arms, he didn’t take them of him “Are we done now? Is there anyone else left?” You ask still comfortably hugging him

“Yeah, we’re all set, so we all going to go now, right boys?” answers Meian making the team quickly taking their things and leaving, the fastest that you’ve ever seen them leave the place

“Anyways” you chuckle “do you want to go an eat something together? Unless you have something planned for Christmas Eve, of course”

“Sure, let’s go. I wanted to spend this evening with you anyway” he says without processing the words that came out of his mouth, quickly realizing the mistake “I mean, eh…I”

“Let’s go then” you smile taking his hand and pulling him out of the gym “I wanted to spend today with you too”

Kenma

The Nekoma team, for the first time ever, was having a Secret Santa for Christmas. In the many years that Nekomata has been in the school he never seen the teams do something like this; but then again, this team was much closer than the previous ones, mainly because of Kuroo, who clearly was the most excited.

Kenma, on the other hand, had mix emotions. He chose you as your secret Santa, but he didn’t knew if he should feel excited because of that, nervous because of you, annoyed at Kuroo for even suggesting this activity, or confused because of what to give you.

He wasn’t particularly sure as of why he was feeling this way towards you; he got to know you a lot better ever since you became the manager of the team, and admittedly he liked you better than all of his teammates, but he doesn’t understand the weird twists his stomach does lately whenever you were close to him.

However, he was extremely suspicious about Kuroo when he easily guess that he got you, almost as if he had plan to help him get you a gift from the beginning. But who was he to deny help when his friend seem so excited to help him?

He knew that you liked similar games than him, and even though you weren’t particularly amazing at them, you liked seeing him play; but Kuroo had other plans for his gift despite him not being your secret santa. He made him walk around the whole mall, showing him from necklaces to flowers, claiming that it has to be ‘romantic’ for some reason.

He was walking through the games section while Kuroo was buying his own gift when he saw it. A huge cat plushie. An while it was on the more expensive side, but something was calling him to buy it for you.

(Once Kuroo saw his best friend struggling to walk with he plush he burst out laughing, he knew that Kenma was whipped but not to this extend)

Finally the day of the exchange arrived, but Kenma being himself, decided to ignore everything Kuroo say about waiting until the end of practice.

“Yn, can you come with me for a sec?” he quietly ask you once break started

“Of course Ken, are you okay? You’re quite red” you ask him while walking outside, taking his hand to stop him and pressing your free one in his forehead “you don’t have any fever”

“Yeah, yeah, I’m fine” he looks away from your eyes, holding your hand tighter as he guides you to the gym. He doesn’t look at you the whole way there, effectively ignoring your confused expression “can you close your eyes for a second? I need to go and get it”

“Sure, but what is it? Secret Santa shouldn’t be until later”

“Don’t worry about it, just close your eyes”

“Fine, fine, I’ll do it” you close your eyes as he walks towards the changing room where the plush was waiting with a bow (which the team teased him for once they saw it). He struggled to get it out, putting it right in front of you once he did

“You can open them” he says out of breath. He sees you open your eyes, which go wide at the sight of the gift, making him go into a slight panic “I’m your secret Santa, this was very expensive so you better like it”

“Ken, this is so pretty” you say in awe, quickly going towards him and giving him a hug. It took him by surprise in the beginning, but he quickly hugs you back with a smile appearing, his heart beating faster than in any game he ever played “You’re so amazing, Kenma”

You kiss his cheek after saying that a bunch of emotions appearing in his body. He finally realized that you were more than a mere friend thanks to that kiss; how did he not notice while he was buying the expensive plush? He doesn’t know, but better late than never.

Sadly, he couldn’t escape the teasing from the rest of the team, especially since you made sure to brag about it and hug it whenever you could (which despite the embarrassment he was glad he saw you so happy).

Sure, he got made fun of that day, but he couldn’t care less since he finally ended up with you.

“Hinata!” Kageyama snapped as he was pulled forward without warning, connected to his friend via oversized scarf.

“I got it!” Hinata declared proudly, holding up the chocolate he’d dropped on the ground. He began unwrapping it without a care in the world, oblivious to Kageyama’s glare in his direction.

Noya, as a joke, had given Hinata a way-too-large scarf for Christmas, which Hinata had of course worn proudly despite tripping over it several times. When the two of them had sat down to lunch, he took one look at Kageyama shivering in the cold wind and insisted they share the material for a little while. Kageyama had been secretly grateful at first, but now…

“Would you stop darting all over the place?” the setter cried as he was once again pulled forward against his will when Hinata went chasing after something the wind tried to snatch away. “You’re going to kill me!” He’d already almost choked on his milk and barely been spared from biting into his own finger instead of a carrot stick.

“Don’t be dramatic, Kageyama,” Hinata replied, sitting back up again. “Would you rather be cold?”

“At this point, yes!” Kageyama huffed. At the sight of his friend rolling his eyes, something inside him reacted automatically. He grabbed Hinata around the middle and yanked him closer, trying to get under his coat to tickle his belly and sides without looking like he was assaulting the redhead.

“Ah! W-What are you – Kageyahahahama!” Hinata squealed, realizing immediately the danger he was in but far too late to try and escape it. He giggled preemptively, squirming in the setter’s hold. “Dohohon’t be such a wihihimp! Next time I wohohon’t share my scarf with you – ah!”

Kageyama smirked victoriously. “Gotcha.”

“Nohohohohohoooo, Kageyahahahahahama! Dohohohohohon’t!” Hinata pleaded, giggling helplessly as his friend scratched and scribbled at his belly and hips as much as he could reach under his bulky winter coat.

“No fun being stuck to another person when you can’t get away, is it, Hinata?”

“Yohohohohou’re the one who agreheheheheheheed to this!”

“Oh, so it’s my fault?”

“Yehehehehehehes!”

Kageyama abandoned all pretenses and tackled his friend to the cold ground, unzipping his coat in a hurry to get to his ribs – his real weak spot. Hinata threw his head back and cackled hysterically, kicking and squirming all the while, but the scarf connecting the two of them made certain he wasn’t going anywhere fast.

It all ended up being much more fun than either of them anticipated.

The Accident - Part X

Atsumu x fem Reader

"So, that's my favorite food. Samu just makes the best Onigiri, I'm not gonna lie about that."

Atsumu grins and gestures towards the plates on the table. "But everything's good, don't worry. I helped Samu with the menu back then after we finished high school. He even added some dishes with extra protein, just for me. Said he couldn't stand how I ate chicken and protein powder all the time."

You frown at the thought of combining chicken and protein shakes, but he just shrugs when he notices your reaction. "Don't look at me like that; I was young then. Well, younger than today. I didn't know better." You laugh when he embarrassedly rubs the back of his neck.

"It's fine! I'm sure you had to watch your protein intake and your vitamin levels. I mean, you started playing a lot more intensely after school, right?"

He nods and takes the carafe of water to fill your empty glass. "A lot has changed since I started as a professional. My schedule's quite tight; I train basically every day, and I have to go abroad every other month for promotions or plays. It's kinda hard to always keep track of my eating habits. I'm just glad that Samu's keepin' an eye on me. Always grumblin' about how it's a drag to do all that extra stuff, but he still has a plate ready whenever I come." You nod and take the glass he's offering you and take a sip of the water. It has a fresh taste with all the herbs that have been added to it; you can even smell a bit of mint and lemon after you place the glass back on the wooden table.

"He sounds like a really good brother. Who's older, him or you?" You ask and look at the raven-haired copy of the man in front of you, who is now behind the counter making Onigiri. He looks good in the Onigiri Miya shirt, the logo cute and simple, fitting the whole ambiance of the restaurant. There isn't much space inside; you're just glad that Atsumu took care of reserving the table because there are quite a lot of customers inside. Yet, it has such a cozy and homey feeling that you relaxed instantly when you took a seat.

"What do you think? Be honest." He looks at you expectantly, and you debate your choices on the inside. On the one hand, Osamu seems like someone who is used to taking care of others, which makes him seem like the older one. On the other hand, you can't deny that Atsumu has a certain sense of dominance that seems like a spoiled firstborn—but you're still clueless.

"Hmm. I think that you're the older twin?" His eyes widen in surprise, and a wide grin suddenly spreads on his whole face. His eyes shine when he bursts out in laughter. "Samu! Samu, y/n thinks that I'm the older twin. Did ya hear that?" He calls for his brother, and Osamu raises his head with a scowl when he realizes that Atsumu just disturbed his peace. "Don't get cocky. She's the first to say that."

"Yeah, but her opinion actually matters. Thank you, y/n." He is still beaming when he turns back to you, the short innuendo with his brother seeming so normal to both of them that you try not to think too hard about it. "You're welcome, I guess?" You nervously laugh, hoping that you made neither Atsumu nor Osamu mad with your words. "You did well. You're my wife after all. So it's only fair that you're on my side." You almost choke on your water when he says that and nervously laugh.

"Oh, okay. Well then. Uhm, I'll start eating? I'm kind of hungry, and the food looks amazing." You still find your heart skipping a beat whenever he calls you 'his wife'—which you noticed that he does quite frequently. He definitely likes to tease you, and you have no idea how you should respond to that. Just the thought of calling him 'husband' makes you feel butterflies in your stomach—you couldn't possibly do that.

You have already snapped a picture of the food to Yachi, who insisted on regular updates of your day. She responded with a salivating emoji and an 'enjoy!' to which you sent a thumbs up, so you're more than ready to eat. "Oh, of course. Just take what ya want. Samu can make us another portion if yer finished with it."

"Thank you." You smile and take a spoon to try the fried rice. The flavor is rich and good; you can't help but let out a delighted huff through your nose while you take another spoonful. "It's really good. Osamu is great at cooking!"

Atsumu has also started eating, an onigiri in both of his hands that now looks ridiculously small. You only now notice how big his hands actually are—probably an advantage when he's playing volleyball. "Told ya. Samu makes the best food." He takes another bite and then a sip of his water. "Let's eat and then we'll talk about the appointment."

You nod and swallow your bite heavily—and you also try to swallow the nervousness while you finish your meal. The atmosphere suddenly had shifted a little after he had mentioned the appointment, the reasoning of your meet-up now apparent. You're both rather quick to finish your food, and you place your napkin on your table and look at him expectantly when you're done.

"So, do you want a dessert already, or do you need a break? Samu has a mean strawberry tiramisu in the fridge. It's not on the menu, but I know it's there." He looks at you and winks, and you laugh while you rub your tummy and lean back in your seat. "I need a short break. But after that maybe? Tiramisu sounds great." You give him a thumbs up, and he nods in response.

"So... let's talk about the visit then. About our options. Wait. Singular. We have one option." He looks at you with a neutral expression, and you find yourself nodding almost robotically. "Yes. We have to wait until the year is over until we can get a divorce."

You both sit there in silence, unsure of how you should continue the conversation.

"I mean, it could have been worse. We're lucky that there were no other grave conditions on the contract. One year will pass really quickly. And then you're free again. I'm also not forcing you to make this public; it wouldn't be good for neither your volleyball career nor my privacy. We could just keep going like this."

He intently watches you while you talk, his chin now resting on one of his palms when he slightly leans forward. "I also think it's smarter to keep it to ourselves for a while. The last name thing, though, is going to be difficult." A groan leaves your lips, and you close your eyes for a second.

"I can't believe that I have to change my last name. This is going to be a lot of paperwork." You groan again at the thought of going to the town hall and contacting your bank—and everything else. You thankfully already had the past few days to get used to the thought of changing your name to 'Miya', but it still makes the whole marriage thing feel so real. This would have a very big impact on your life at this point. All formal letters will be addressed to y/n Miya—which would definitely cause questions that you're not prepared for. But that is a problem for your future self, something you're trying to reassure yourself of to not feel overwhelmed. It will be fine. The lawyers had reassured you that it would only need a few signatures and a small fee, and then you could get divorced after the year is over—and that definitely made you feel a bit better.

"Yeah, sorry for that." He sheepishly rubs the back of his head, probably feeling guilty that only you have to do that, and you're quick to shake your head. "Don't be. I voluntarily agreed to this; this part is definitely not your fault."

He nods and takes the last bite of his rice ball and quickly wipes his hands with his tissue. Noticing that you have finished your meal too, he is quick to wave for the waitress. "I'll ask for the tiramisu. Are you fine with sharing? He said he'll only leave one portion. Greedy bastard," he groans playfully, and you giggle at his comment.

"Yes, we can share."

The car ride home feels tense.

The evening was great; you had a good time with Atsumu, and the prospect of having to part soon makes you feel uneasy, especially at the prospect of not knowing if you will ever see him again. For all you know, he could simply send you the paperwork via post and never talk to you again.

You get thrown out of your thoughts when he parks the car in front of your house, and you both sit there for a second in silence.

"Uhm... here we are." He finally says, turning off the engine, much to your surprise. That means he intends to stay a bit longer.

"Yes." You awkwardly scratch the back of your head and look at him through the darkness. Only a street lantern provides a bit of light, just enough for you to faintly see his face. He also seems to feel somewhat nervous, his eyes avoiding yours at all costs and looking at the dark screen of the radio.

"So, uhm. I meant to ask. How do you want things to go in the future? We can either keep in touch or meet exactly one year from now to finalize the divorce. What would you prefer?" You can see how his knee bounces up and down, a clear indicator of his nervousness. The words seem somewhat practiced, and you're pretty much convinced that he's been thinking about this moment during the whole car ride. You feel a lump in your throat and somewhat have a hard time coming up with an answer. What if he wants to cut ties with you but is too polite to say it out loud? You definitely don't want to put him in an uncomfortable situation by forcing him to keep in touch with you. It's bad enough already that you have to take his last name, which would probably lead to some questions. What were you supposed to say now?

"I... I don't know. What would you prefer?" You know that it's lame to answer with a question, but you only intend to offer him a way out. Much to your surprise, his eyes flicker to your face, and his knee stops bouncing.

"I would prefer for you to be happy, whatever you decide to go with." He seems so earnest and serious when he says that, that you find yourself flushing—thankful for the darkness to conceal your facial expression. Hopefully.

"Keep in touch, like eating at Onigiri Miya, for example? And texting and calling?"

"Hmm." He hums and suddenly watches you like a hawk, analyzing every single one of your expressions. "We could make that a regular thing. Samu changes the menu often; he could even put your favorite food on it, if ya ask him nicely."

You are stunned at his words. He probably knows fully well that it sounds like a cheap excuse to keep seeing you, yet he still said it.

So you decide to be brave too.

"Sounds great."

"What the heck was that?"

"What do you mean?" Atsumu rolls his eyes at the car speaker, somewhat annoyed because he knows exactly what Osamu will say.

"I saw you makin' heart eyes at her. And that phone call last week? I didn't say anything back then, but what are you trying to do? Flirting with her and breaking her heart when ya get divorced and you stop talkin' to her? She's too nice for that. Don't do that to her; she's been through enough already."

"I'm not leading her on!" Atsumu almost yells, finding himself wounded at the accusation of not being honest with you. "It's just—I don't know. Easy to talk to her. I just... I dunno. I'm not doing it on purpose; it just comes naturally. Everything comes naturally when it comes to her. Wonder if that's why I married her. Love at first sight, ya know?"

Osamu lets out a heavy and deep sigh, full of frustration. "It's fine. Just take things slow. If you wanna date her, I mean. You both skipped a few steps; I don't know if ya really have a chance."

"I'm not trying to date her. I'm just... I enjoy talking to her and spending time with her. And it's cute to see her flustered. We only got one spoon for the tiramisu, and I offered to feed her—ya should have seen her face, she almost fainted." Atsumu grins at the memory, but Osamu only sighs again.

"You're always causing me trouble. Just—be careful with her, 'kay? We still don't know if she's some kind of stalker trying to get with ya. Remember the last time a fan tried to get close to ya? Didn't end well."

Atsumu's grin slowly fades at the memory, and a deep frown replaces the happy expression.

"I know, I know. But she knows that manager from Karasuno. And Shoyo-kun. She could have met me earlier if she was a stalker. We only decided on the club last week, remember? No way she could have known. She got her hotel room booked a few weeks ago, Shoyo-kun told me that. That's too many coincidences for her to be a stalker."

"If you say so. Dunno, you just always get in trouble."

"Not this time. Not with her."

"Sure. Let me know if ya need somethin'. See ya."

Atsumu hangs up the call, his hands now holding the steering wheel tighter. There is an inner turmoil inside of him, almost the need to see you again, and that's when he forms a plan in his head.

A few minutes later, and he has safely parked the car and fished his phone out of his pocket. His fingers fly over the keyboard, and he doesn't think twice before he hits the "send" button.

Are you free this weekend, Mrs. Miya?

Chikara's Birthday Eve Eve

Haikyuu, Ennotana, future/timeskip fic, established relationship, birthday countdown

Tanaka spends days celebrating Chikara's birthday, despite his initial protest.

There was something in the air.

Excitement. Anticipation.

... Or possibly dread.

Chikara looked at Toshiko, one of the physical therapy assistants, who had been pecking away on her phone for the last 30 minutes.

The phone itself wasn't an issue. They were minutes from closing, all the patients had gone, and Chikara was finishing up his paperwork.

It was the way Toshiko tapped anxiously at the screen, sighing, mumbling, and occasionally groaning as if in pain.

"Is everything okay?" Chikara finally asked as he saved and closed the last file.

Toshiko looked up, her brow furrowed. She sighed again.

"I planned a Christmas Eve date for Mina and I." She chewed on her lip. "I really hope she likes it."

"Why wouldn't she like it?"

"We're not going to the restaurant Mina originally wanted to go to," Toshiko said. "I couldn't get a reservation. But this one has great food and it's closer to the lights display we're going to after. We won't have to walk as far."

Chikara grabbed his bag. "That sounds good?"

Toshiko stood, also gathering her things. She fumbled with her phone as she put on her coat.

"But the first restaurant has a special Christmas Eve menu and Mina really wanted to go."

"If she really likes you," Chikara offered, "then she'll like the date because you planned it."

Toshiko looked doubtful. Chikara guided his distracted coworker out of the office and closed the door.

"Making the effort shows a lot of care on its own."

Toshiko considered Chikara's opinion. She nodded after a moment, releasing her chewed lip.

"I just hope she likes it," she said in a rush. "This is our first Christmas Eve together. You're lucky you're married, Chikara-san."

Chikara looked up from locking the door. He didn't understand where she was going with her train of thought.

"You don't have to worry about romance."

"I don't?"

"Not in the same way! You're married," Toshiko said, stressing the word. "The pressure is already off." She smiled and drove the conversation forward before Chikara could question her logic. "Do you and Tanaka-san have Christmas Eve plans?"

Chikara shook his head.

"No, we don't really do anything on Christmas Eve."

"At all?"

Chikara checked the lock before putting the office keys into his bag.

"No," he said simply. "It doesn't seem necessary."

"Because you're married," Toshiko said with a nod.

Chikara decided to let her flawed hypothesis slide because she seemed much more relaxed than before. Toshiko checked her phone for the 300th time and hurried off towards the bus stop.

"Goodbye, Chikara-san! See you tomorrow!"

"Have a nice time!"

Toshiko waved as she ran, eventually disappearing into the movement of people on the street.

Chikara sent Tanaka a quick message to say he was on his way, the reply quick, warming him against the cold.

'Dinner's ready! Can't wait!!'

Chikara smiled. He did like being married.

"I'm back!"

Their dog Airi was waiting to greet Chikara at the door, wiggling and pacing with excitement as he took off his shoes. She poked her nose into the bag he carried to inspect it. His arrival received no other response, suggesting that Tanaka was somewhere out of earshot.

Airi followed at his feet as Chikara made his way inside.

The bag he carried went in the fridge. He peeked into the pot on the stove, the delicious smell of oden blooming in the kitchen.

Chikara put away his things and changed his clothes before stopping at the dining table.

A gift sat at his seat, the tag bearing only a large number two.

It was true that he and Tanaka usually didn't do anything special to mark Christmas Eve. It was so close to Chikara's birthday that an additional day of celebration didn't seem practical.

Instead, Tanaka spent days celebrating Chikara's birthday, despite his initial protest.

It was difficult to stop Tanaka once he had a plan. He had a history of going overboard for birthdays but his discovery of advent calendars pushed everything to a whole other level.

Chikara considered it a success when he forced Tanaka to downsize from the idea of 25 gifts.

The number of gifts would vary from year to year, never exceeding the maximum of 7 they had agreed on. They ranged from practical to silly, useful to absurd, and Chikara would be lying if he said he didn't adore every single one.

Tanaka seemed to love preparing the gifts which gave Chikara permission to indulge in a little extra attention, if only once a year.

As if summoned, Tanaka pushed through the sliding door, coming in from the terrace with an armful of linens as Chikara touched the gift.

"Chikara!" he said loudly, dropping the laundry on the couch. He rushed over to surround Chikara in a hug. "Welcome back!"

Chikara smiled. "Dinner smells wonderful."

Tanaka beamed at the compliment. He wasn't the best cook but he could do anything that required only boiling.

Tanaka picked up the gift, pressing it into Chikara's hands. "Open it!"

Chikara weighed the small package wrapped in paper. He was curious. There was never any rhyme or reason to the assortment of gifts in the countdown.

Among the gifts this year, he had received pens for work, a gift card to his favorite okonomiyake restaurant, and a novelty shirt that came with a corresponding one for Tanaka to wear. ("It's my birthday" and "I'm his gift”.)

The package could contain truly anything which was part of the fun.

Chikara unwrapped the gift to reveal a picture frame containing two pictures floating in a clear matte.

The pictures were similar but different. They were taken together. The colors were beginning to fade.

They were of he and Tanaka in high school, posing in a photo booth.

"Do you remember this?" Tanaka asked. "I think this was our second date. Saeko found them while she was cleaning out my room."

Chikara nodded. He remembered.

"Look at how young and cute we were," he said after a moment.

Tanaka kissed his cheek.

"You're still cute, Chikara."

Tanaka went off to the kitchen with Airi trailing behind him, leaving Chikara holding the picture frame in his hands. He could hear the sounds of Tanaka gathering things to set the table.

Chikara moved to the bookshelf, seeking a place to put his gift. He rearranged a few things and set the picture frame down among others.

He looked fondly at the pictures. He was sure there was a copy of them pressed between the pages of a book at his mom's house.

He could see the nervousness in their smiles, pressed together in the small space of the photo booth. He couldn’t remember every detail of that day but he remembered how he felt, the anxious excitement of knowing that his feelings were shared even if they were still figuring out how to express them. His gaze moved to their other pictures, to trips and dates, to their wedding, to bringing Airi home for the first time. He could see how they grew together, the nervousness gone, affection, trust, and love taking root in its place.

Chikara considered that maybe Toshiko had made a good point.

Maybe they didn't approach romance the same way.

Romance wasn't about excitement for Chikara any more. He still liked dates and trendy restaurants but it wasn't what made him feel most loved.

For Chikara, romance was reliability.

It was having a partner, not just in love, but in life. It was having someone to share things with, both good and bad. It was having someone he could count on to take care of Airi, to remind him about his umbrella when it rained, to pick up medicine when he was sick.

Someone who made him laugh. Someone who cheered him on.

Someone who still thought he was cute.

Chikara turned from his thoughts to the kitchen when he heard Tanaka shout.

"You bought a Christmas cake?" Tanaka said, carrying bowls and utensils to the table.

Chikara reached out to help him. "It is Christmas Eve."

"You mean Chikara's Birthday Eve Eve."

Chikara shook his head but couldn't stop his laugh. He set the table as Tanaka returned with the pot of oden. When the pot was safely down on the table, Chikara pulled Tanaka into an embrace.

"Thank you for making dinner," he said, kissing Tanaka lightly. He felt Tanaka's hands, still covered with oven mitts, firm against his back. "Thank you for feeding Airi."

Tanaka grinned, crowding Chikara in his arms, eager for more kisses. "Thank you for buying us a Christmas cake."

Chikara hurried to get his words out. It was important to him that Tanaka knew how he felt.

"Thank you for my gift, Ryuu."

Tanaka's expression softened, his smile home to more emotions than even Chikara could count.

"You're still cute too," Chikara added.

Tanaka laughed, bright and loud. Chikara did too, even as Tanaka brought an oven mitt-covered hand to the back of his head. Their laughter faded in favor of a kiss, long and slow, deep and teasing, filled with promise.

Excitement. Anticipation.

And possibly romance.

"You still have two more days of gifts," Tanaka reminded him. He grinned, holding Chikara close. "Wait until you see tomorrow's present."

Chikara smiled. He did love being married.

"I can't wait."
