Peter has always been protective. Of you, Ned, MJ, May and everything and anything he holds near and dear to his heart. Peter absolutley ADORES you and would literally kill for you, no matter what (or who) threatened his relationship with his princess(you). It's also worth mentioning he gets jealous when you give your attention to anyone who wasn't a family member(and even then), Ned or MJ. You were incredibly smart and when Peter showed you his web shooters, you were ecstatic to help and make new formulas. That was one of his favorite things about you. You were always willing to help.
After the villains got loose in the city and you had to help capture them, Peter's normal level of protectiveness shot up. Peter wouldn't even let you look at the villains. Even if you tried to introduce yourself and explain your intentions, Peter would just take your hand and tell you not to speak to these creatures because they're bad and he would move you behind him. They eventually began to think you were mute or just stuck up but the truth is that Peter would break their necks and sternly talk you down if you tried to speak. You could tell everyone was in a fragile place at that moment so you decided it was best to just shut up and be helpful.
When the fight in the condo happened and Aunt May died, it was like a switch in Peter's head went off. His natural instinct was to kill the Goblin and protect the only thing he had left; You. That means, his senses were dialed up to 1234 and he was ready to fight and possibly kill anything that flew or came in your direction. He was so protective, he wouldn't let you go to the bathroom without him being present. So when his variants, Ned and MJ came, Peter tucked you away in his arms, kissed your forehead and gave you a talk:
"Stay here okay?"
"Peter I'm in your arms, there's no where I can go." You said with a hint of sass.
"Y/n I don't want the sass okay? I just lost my Aunt so the least you can do is shut up and do what I say, okay?" Peter said bluntly.
You nodded and did as you were told.
"Does he always talk to her like that?" One of the variants asked.
"Usually not this bluntly but yes." MJ chimed in. MJ hated that you went from being so independent with your own thoughts and opinions, to being Peters puppy. Quiet, reserved and a mere shell of who you used to be. But there was nothing she could do. Nothing anyone could do really.
You waved at the variants and when you got to the lab, you made peter's web fluid with a combination of different formulas; each one more effective and potent than the ones Peter was making. One of the variants was impressed by your creation:
"Wow. That's strong stuff. What's in it?" He asked you.
"A hint of vibranium and I changed the measurements on the original fluid." You said, happy someone was talking to you.
"What's vibranium?" Both of the variants asked.
"The strongest substance on our Earth. It's truly amazing what it can do. It can replicate human skin, build a new body and even extract an infinity stone!" You cheered. It was the first time you felt like yourself since Peter changed.
"Wow. I don't know what infinity stones are but if they're nearly as strong and powerful as your web fluid, than it's the strongest thing in my universe." One Variant said,
"Mine too" The other chimed in.
You had prepared another speech when you were cut off:
"How about actually working instead of talking about space rocks that were blown up by the thing who slaughtered his own daughter to get them." Peter said, the anger and jealousy of you taking a liking to his variants living in his voice.
"Yes sir." You said sadly.
"Jeez man, lighten up." The brown eyed variant said.
"Yeah dude. Your girl is obviously loyal to you and only you and she is extremely smart yet she can't even have a conversation?" The blue eyed one said annoyed.
In typical true Peter Parker fashion, they stuck up for you. It seemed that was a common trait among them.
"What she can and can't have is none of your concern. Let's just get this over with so you guys can go home and we can live our normal lives." Your Peter said fed up.
"Uh Peter." Ned said shakily.
"Yeah?" They all said.
"Oh no my Peter." Ned corrected.
"Yeah?" Your Peter said.
"The computer." Ned said.
Peter made sure to do what he had to do while keeping an eye on you.
"Y/n. Come here, Princess." Peter instructed.
"Yeah." you said walking over.
"Why do you have to interact with these Peter's?" Peter asked.
"Because they interacted with me first." You informed.
"Okay so here's what's gonna happen. If I see you talking to any of these "me's", I will not hesitate to punish you later. You belong to me and only me. Understand?" Peter said in your ear.
"I understand." You said looking down.
Peter grabbed your chin and made you look at him.
"Understand?" Peter said, firmly.
"I understand, sir." you said.
"You're always such a good girl for me. Stay that way, yeah?" Peter praised.
"Okay" You said, handing him the fluid.
He kissed you and put the plan in motion. After everything was done and the variants went back home, Peter delivered the news of the spell.
A few months later
"Hello fellow engineers!" You chanted in the coffee shop.
"What?" Ned said in confusion.
"MIT's mascot is the engineer." MJ said.
"Oh yeah I should probably know that" Ned laughed.
"So have we decided on an apartment yet?" You asked.
"I think so" MJ smiled.
"Yeah. The Loft, right?" Ned asked.
"Yep" you said.
"I'll put the down payment and the first month of utilities plus the groceries!" You said.
"No no no that's way too much-" Ned and MJ started before they were cut off by some random kid.
"Hi I'm Peter Parker you don't know me but-" he started.
You quickly stopped him and said,
"Peter Parker don't you know it's rude to interrupt stranger's conversations." You said as snarky as possible. Ned and MJ chuckling behind their hands.
Peter was taken aback by your sudden edge. He had forgot you had a backbone before he became more dominant.
"I wanted a coffee not sass, sweetheart." Peter replied.
You had a look of anger plastering your face but in reality, it turned you on a bit. To have someone be so blunt with you was just the thing you wanted in life.
You whispered to MJ to give him a receipt so you could write your number on the back with a note:
"Never call me sweetheart. You can call me Princess though." The note read.
The stranger took it with a smirk and walked out.
"Y/N" Ned and MJ screamed after you told them the contents of the note:
"What were going to college soon anyway. At the very least, he'll be a good fuck."
"And if he's not??" MJ asked.
"He will be. I feel it." You replied with a smirk.

For Talk Shop Tuesday - I love Amelia Parker so I'm going to ask first, how did this OC come about? And secondly, what made you decide who she'd be friends with and who she'd be adopted by during the Snap?
Oooh great question! Honestly, this OC came about after I watched NWH. Not necessarily in relation to it at first, but...I wondered, “what if there was a Parker sibling who wasn’t Snapped/Blipped?”A little sister who had to lose her brother and aunt in one fell swoop. I wanted some post-Blip meta, and this seemed like a good place to start:
Imagine a little Parker girl who was swept into CPS pretty much right away, who probably cycled through a couple families that didn't click for whatever reason until the Octaviuses—that part was NWH-based, because I thought about the poignancy of Amelia meeting another version of her adoptive father, one who lost his Rosie long ago, and feeling pity for him, and believing in his goodness. Because how could any version of Otto Octavius be evil, when he was so very kind to a standoffish, sullen teen who had given up on being adopted before meeting him and Rosie? (I love the Raimi Octavius family so, so much, so ofc Amelia gets to be adopted and loved by their variants!)
Gwen being her best friend was because of how prominent she is in the Spidey mythos—I figured it would be a neat way to introduce her! Amelia's best friend, who then becomes agemates with the FOS trio and the others in their grade who Blipped. Gwen is romantically connected to Peter in the Spidey mythos, and here, she's platonically connected to Amelia. Even when they're separated during the Snap (Gwen’s mom moves them away after her dad Blips), Amelia misses her best friend fiercely.
As for why Norman...admittedly, I did think about just making him Harry Osborn. But when Raimi Norman dropped that line about Oscorp and Harry not existing in the MCU...it sparked an idea. What if Harry “doesn't exist”...because he was Blipped? More to the point, what if he was MCU Norman's twin brother, and he was Blipped, while Norman wasn't? He then had to go on knowing that he was a twin bereft of his other half, and that his father had lost his favorite son.
Amelia meets Norman in school (because ofc, through all of this, she is still going to school), and they commiserate, become friends. And then, when Norman meets Raimi Norman in NWH...it's a moment of “oh my god, this is me in another universe? I'm a villain? I'm evil?”
But Amelia refuses to believe that's his destiny. Norman's her best friend, who she may or may not have feelings for (she does), she can't believe he would ever be evil. It's why she's tricked by Raimi Norman and almost killed as a result...but it's also why she refuses to assign that same fate to her Norman.
Another reason for creating Amelia is because of the wonderful tension she and Peter could have. She is, ofc, the last one looped in regarding Peter being Spidey…and she finds out via the Mysterio video! Needless to say, she’s pretty pissed. That lasts throughout most of NWH…they do get their act together, but…we know how NWH ends :(
Amelia and Gwen reconnect in FFH when Gwen is visiting colleges nearby (she wants to move back so she and Amelia can live in the same city again), so by NWH, the two of them and Norman are a trio. And Gwen is waiting for the day these idiots get over themselves and confess (and she agrees with Amelia—their Norman could never be evil).
And this is how I picture our dear trio:

people wanted it(so did I) so here is my therapy au for NWH(SPOILERS)
I called it The Spider-Men AU or alternatively Spider-Bros
They are brothers
The spider really likes the Parker boys, since it bit all three
Tom is Peter, Tobey and Andrew are Tobey and Andrew because fuck creative naming
Peter’s trans, all three are bi
Peter is 15, Andrew is 17 and Tobey is 19
Tobey’s doing online college
They have bunkbeds and fouton in their room
They fight over the top bunk a lot
Peter’s dating MJ, Tobey’s dating Wade and Andrew is dating Harry
Their suits are very similar, Pete’s has black, Andrew’s has Navy and Tobey’s has blue but otherwise the same
They tell the public they’re “the Spider Men”
The public refers to them as “the small one”(Pete) “the lanky one”(Andrew) and “the responsible one”(Tobey) or more offically “Navy” “Blue” and “Black”
They call each other “little shit”(Pete) “bitch face”(Andrew) “mother fucker”(Tobey) when on the job
Aunt May knows and approves, though she gets worried about her boys
She’s very supportive
Tobey and Andrew wear their suits under their clothes, but it’s quite hard for Peter to piss in so he has to change
This leads to a lot of “PETE HURRY UP” “THIS IS CIS PRIVLAGE”
They are pure chaos
“MOTHER FUCKER WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT” “YOU’RE NOT MY MOM BITCH FACE”
*Pete misses a swing after being chased and falls in front of Andy* “nice of you to join us”
*goon gets sent rolling in the other direction* “they see me rollin’ the hatin’”
*Tobey and Peter talking about math and science and how it will help the situation, Andy knowing full well he is of the same intelligence* “y’all are nerds”
*electro does something* *all three boys sarcastically at the same time* “Gasp, shocking”
They quote vines a lot
Many people have theorized that the group are teenagers
Lots of hair fussing
When Andy sees Pete in the hall, he punches his shoulder then fusses his hair.
If there’s some kind of problem, he fusses his hair first, then punches his shoulder
They have an unspoken agreement with the old ladies that live above them not say anything when they see the boys sneak back in through the window
Tobey is the least sneaky, he makes a lot of noise
Tobey’s organic webs are an anomaly in the family
They develop the web fluid for Andy and Pete from his webs
Toxic masculinity? Never heard of her
I really wanna put Miles in this somehow but that would be few years into the spidermaning tm and I wanna start this around a few months in
Peter’s spidey isn’t openly trans because it’s nobody’s business but they agree to do an interview and the interviewer says something transphobic and the other boys are like “oh she had it coming” and Peter just laughs and looks at the camera and says, “I’m trans dumbass”
For pride month, they spider man with bi flags as capes
Pete and Andy walk to school together every day because it gives them a bit of normality
Tobey on the other hand has unlimited webbing and swings wherever he wants
None of them will admit they are hurt so they always drag each other to the hospital where they have an agreement with Dr Cristine Palmer on behalf of Dr Stephen Strange to patch them up and not say anything
They’re about to go into a big battle and Andy just grabs his brothers shoulders and says “I love you guys”
(They say it back)
Tobey refers to them as his baby brothers and Peter refers to them as his big brothers. Andrew calls them each respectively
When Pete first brings MJ home Andy gets all fake offended when he doesn’t introduce them
“Peter where are your manners young man”
“UGH MJ these are my brothers, Andrew and Tobey”
“Thank you.”
Tobey chaprones homecoming much to his brothers’ dismay
A convo that absolutely happened
Pete: “Is it still ok to kill spiders now?”
Andy: “yeah… wait”
Tobey: “OH MY GOD IS IT”
Matt Murdock is a family friend and he stops by for dinner every once and a while(very often May’s microwave dinners and taste in takeout is very good)
They throw his laundry in with theirs because he doesn’t have that much clothes(usually it’s in the same wash as the spidersuits so all the blood gets out together)
They also groccery shop for him sometimes because the stores don’t have brail
He knows about the boys being spidermen and Daredevil is seen teaming up with them on a regular basis
I like to think he has a cordinated high five with all three of them
He comes over for Christmas dinner
Along with the Moraleses(I snuck my boy in there) because they are also family friends
Wade joins the year that he starts dating Tobey ‘cause he has no family
Tobey wraps all presents that aren’t for him because Andy and Pete suck at it and Aunt May gets overwhelmed
I’ll add more when I come up with it and add the ao3 link when I write it
Request to be @ed when I post and I will try my best to

When Enough is Enough pt. I
Imagine being let down one too many times by your best friend, only to end up making some new ones in the process.
Tumblr media
Words: 7.7K
Sometimes when you had a moment to yourself, you often found yourself looking back on how easy things were when you were just in high school. College wasn't a walk in the park, but it did somewhat prepare you for the real world after school. And with you now being a nurse and Peter still doing the superhero gig, you and your best friend hardly had time for each other which left you feeling bummed about it.
But you've finally taken a much needed two week vacation and you couldn't wait to dress in sweats and drink the night away.
Grabbing some fruit from your refrigerator, you set it all out on the counter and get to work. The strawberries need washing and to be sliced, but the black berries and blueberries are fine with just a quick wash. You grab one of the beer mugs from your kitchen cabinets and fill it a little less than halfway with ice. You toss in some strawberry slices, black berries and blueberries. Then turning to the refrigerator, you grab the Malibu Coconut Rum and the Minute Maid Berry Punch. You pour about three shots of the rum into the glass, followed by another three shots of the punch. Then grabbing a Smirnoff Ice Original, you twist off the lid and place the bottle upside down in your mug.
Satisfied with your drink for the time being, you shove a straw into your mug and take it with you as you walk over to your sofa. You groan happily as you take your first sip and then settle down to binge watch some shows you need to catch up on.
Halfway done with your drink, your apartment door opens but you already know who it is since there's only one person with a spare key. Peter jumps over the back of the couch, landing next to you and stealing your mug from your hands. He takes a long sip, grinning as he hands it back over to you. "That drink is dangerous. Tastes too good to stop just at one."
"Hence the reason why I'm drinking it, Parker." You clutch the mug between your hands once more, leaning out of his reach when he makes a grab for it again. "I'm on vacation and I plan to drink until I can no longer keep my eyes open. Hands off."
"Mean. And here I was going to invite you to a party." You freeze mid-sip and raise an eyebrow at your best friend. Peter smirks. "We've both been kind of busy and now that you're on vacation I figured I'd ask and see if you want to be my plus one for Tony's party."
Your lips purse. "Hmm. What kind of party?"
"A normal one?" He shrugs. "It's just the team and close friends of the team. Everyone needs to decompress and they decided to do that with drinks and music."
"Fine. I'm game. But you're packing up the fruits and all my beer mugs, and then we're stopping by the liquor store and Quick Mart to pick up more Smirnoff, Rum and Berry Punch."
"Y/N," he chuckles. "Tony's got drinks there."
"Yeah, but does he have all the ingredients to make my favorite drink?"
"Uh, probably not?"
"Exactly. So chop, chop! Pack it up while I change into clothes worthy of being out in public."
          - - - - - - - - - -
As you ride the elevator up to the upper floors of Stark Tower, you're at complete ease. Anyone in your position would be a nervous wreck, but you've heard enough stories about them from Peter that you're not.
As the elevator dings open, you and Peter step out with your arms full of bags. Almost immediately, you're approached by Tony Stark. "Parker, you sly dog! It's about time we meet the girlfriend." You and Peter snort, and immediately try to deny his claims, but he bulldozes right over you. "What's with the alcohol? I got everything you could need here."
"First off," you muse, elbowing Peter aside, "I'm the best friend, not the girlfriend." Tony's eyebrows raise before he chuckles. "And secondly, I was already drinking this at my apartment before Peter asked me to come with him. I doubt someone with expensive tastes such as yours has Minute Maid punch and Smirnoffs sitting in the fridge."
"Point," he gestures to you. "Well welcome. Any friend of Peter's is a friend of ours. And I see you got blueberries so I want one of whatever you're making."
"Sure thing, Stark, but just know this was something we came up with in college."
Peter gestures for you to follow him when Tony gets called away and you keep close to him as he leads you to the kitchen. He finds an empty space along the kitchen island and the two of you work on unloading the bags.
"Get me three mugs of ice," you tell him. Peter takes three mugs to put some ice in as you open the containers of fruit. You earn a few curious glances, but you merely grin and nod, and continue to twist open bottles and cartons. Then once you've assembled everything, you toss the fruits into each mug and start pouring the shots of rum and berry punch into them. You put one Smirnoff upside into the first mug and hand it off to Peter. "Take that to Mr. Stark. I'll assemble ours."
Peter grins and heads off, doing as you've said.
You get the remaining two poured very easily and Peter rejoins you just as you insert the straws. Taking his own mug as you pick up yours, you clink your drinks together before taking the longest sip you can. When you need to breathe, you let go of the straw first and Peter fist pumps in victory. "Dick," you mumble.
Two females approach- one with a shy demeanor whereas the other one has a very energetic vibe about her. You're proven correct when she says, "Hey new girl, are you the one making the Smirnoff drinks?"
You nod. "Yeah."
"Mind making one for me and friend here? Stark won't share." You chuckle and nod again. "I'm Darcy, by the way, and this is my friend Wanda."
"Y/N." You introduce yourself as Peter grabs two more mugs to put ice in. "I'm that idiot's best friend," you say while gesturing to Peter's back.
"I heard that!"
"Well I wasn't whispering it." He mockingly pouts at you over his shoulder and you laugh some more.
"Damn. We owe Sam and Bucky twenty bucks."
You glance at Darcy as she begrudgingly starts pulling money out of her back pocket and you raise an eyebrow at Wanda who's grinning. "We thought you were Peter's girlfriend." Her accent makes your smile widen. "Sam and Bucky said there was no way Parker got a girlfriend as beautiful as you."
Your eyes widen and the seemingly shy girl laughs aloud. "Wait, what?" You nervously chuckle. "I'm not drunk enough to be taking compliments from pretty boys like them."
"Boys." Darcy snorts. "Don't let them hear you call them that. They'll be determined to show you how manly they are then."
Peter sets down the mugs in front of you before taking his back up. "You good here? I want to go say hi to some people."
"Go." You shoo him away. "Go mingle. I'm fine."
"Yeah, Spidey. She's good. We'll keep her company," Darcy says. "Go away now."
Peter frowns and you can't resist pinching his cheek, cooing softly at him. "I'm a big girl, Petey. I'll be around. Plus you're walking me home, remember?"
"Fine." He gently swats your hand off his face as you laugh at him. "But please stay with the girls, and don't listen to anything Sam or Bucky says. They're mean to me."
"I'll try my best. Now go away. I have drinks to make."
As Peter leaves with his drink in tow, you finish making both Darcy and Wanda theirs. They happily accept them when you slide the mugs in front of them, groaning in delight after they take their first sip.
"Come on. Lets go get comfortable with the boys and Nat," Darcy says. "Kick off your shoes though. We're sitting in the pit."
You glance around for a place to kick off your shoes until Wanda gestures you towards the corner where other pairs of shoes lie. Then following them over to what they've deemed the pit, you walk down the carpeted stairs and take a seat near Wanda as Darcy hands over some money to Sam.
"Ha!" Sam laughs. "Knew that little twerp couldn't land a lady as fine as her."
Your nose wrinkles at the compliment and Wanda laughs. "Everyone, this is Y/N. Y/N, that's Natasha, Sam and Bucky." She points to each respective individual as she names them and you nod at each of them. "Y/N also doesn't take compliments well."
"It's weird." You're quick to defend yourself, sheepishly shrugging. "I don't like being put on the spot."
Darcy plops down between Bucky and Wanda. "Well too bad. You are a beautiful woman who makes fantastic drinks." She wraps her lips around the straw to sip some more. "Janie is going to be pissed she missed these."
You chuckle and start sipping your own drink.
"So how do you know Spider-Boy?" Sam asks.
"Uh, we grew up together," you say. "I lived next door to his uncle Ben and aunt May, and when he moved in with them we were just drawn together. Been best friends ever since."
"Never once hooked up?"
You splutter at Darcy's question. "N-No!"
"You're lying." Bucky's eyes squint at you and resist the urge to flip him off. After all, you only just met him.
"I'm really not. There might've been a slight crush once upon a time, but no. No hookups."
Natasha grins at you before sipping her beer. "You're a great liar." You gasp in mock offense.
"Who didn't hook-up?" Peter lands next to you, his arm going around the back of your shoulders.
Darcy waggles her eyebrows at you and you snort. "Apparently all your friends-" Bucky and Sam scoff, "and co-workers think you and I have hooked up."
Peter laughs. "Well there was that one time-"
"Peter!"
"WHAT?!" Sam and Darcy shout.
"Knew it." Natasha preens at being right.
You swat at Peter's chest repeatedly. "Dick. I just finished telling them we hadn't."
"What? But how?!" Darcy wonders. "You had me believing you when you said you didn't hook-up. You had Bucky believing it!"
"Y/N is a phenomenal liar," Peter muses. "We got away with so much in high school."
You crack a grin then, you and Peter sharing a fist bump. "Way to make me sound like I lie all the time." Then looking out at those in the conversation pit, you say, "I don't lie on the important stuff. Just the stupid stuff that got us out of school or whether or not Peter and I hooked up. His girlfriends are usually intimidated by me so I had to convince them Petey and I never slept together."
"Are you two.. together?" Wanda then wonders, but you and Peter shake your heads. "How do you remain such good friends afterwards?"
You shrug. "We know each other's deepest secrets. We won't ever not be friends."
"Hold on. Let's get back to the lying thing," Bucky says. "Give me two truths and one lie. I wanna see if you can do that again. And stare me straight in the eyes when you say it."
Sam snorts as you and Peter laugh. "Okay. Hold on. Let me think." You take a moment to think of the three things you're going to say. When you figure it out, you meet Bucky's steely gaze head on. "I was engaged once. My sister married my ex-boyfriend. I swam with sharks where a young shark took a chunk out of my side."
Everyone seems to hold their breath and you can't help but smirk when Bucky's eyes narrow. After a brief moment, he says, "The sister and the ex-boyfriend. While you seem young, being engaged is believable. As is the shark. But there's no way a sibling would marry another sibling's ex."
Your smirk falls and Bucky grins victoriously, only for Peter to burst out laughing. You follow soon after. "If this were a drinking game, you'd have to take a shot."
"What? No way!" Sam exclaims. Bucky looks grumpy once more and Natasha looks impressed.
Peter nods. "It's true. Y/N dumped him for being clingy and not wanting her to speak to me, and he went crawling to her sister months later. They married a couple years after that."
"And you were okay with that?" Wanda frowns.
"I was fine with their relationship. It's not like I was in love with the guy," you admit. "I just hated that she moved him in with us. It made our already cramped apartment even more cramped, which then led to lots of sleepovers at Peter's."
"So that's when the hook-up occurred." You grab a couch pillow and throw it at Sam who catches it with a laugh. Darcy pats Bucky on the shoulder and Sam laughs at his expression. "Well if that wasn't the lie, what was? The engagement?"
"Oh no. I was engaged." You laugh. "For about a month before I realized I didn't actually wanna spend the rest of life with an idiot."
"The lie was the shark bite," Peter tells them. "Y/N's is terrified of the ocean. She can only make it into ankle deep water before she starts to panic."
"Well the ocean is huge!" You defend yourself. "Have you seen those documentaries with the strange noises and shadows at fuck thousand feet below? No thank you."
The group sitting around you all laugh. You decide to get more comfortable then, angling yourself towards Peter and throwing your legs across his lap. He doesn't bat an eye, instead he just raises his arms and sets them back down atop your legs, his free hand tapping a random rhythm on your knee.
The conversation flows easy after that, Tony dragging Clint, Steve and Bruce to be introduced. Once everyone is seated, the group waste no time in asking what it is you do after you refuse to offer up any embarrassing stories about a pre-teen Peter. Darcy is snapping pictures every now and then, getting your Instagram username afterward so she can tag you in a few of the ones she was posting. And when you get the notification on your own phone, you go through liking the photos and following back Darcy, Wanda, Sam and Bucky who had all followed you.
Not even five minutes after of the pictures being posted does Peter's phone ring. You hear his sudden intake of breath and you glance at the screen, your smile dimming at the name and picture there. "Take it," you murmur. He quickly glances at you and you remove your legs from his lap. "It's been what, a couple of months since you last spoke with her? Take it."
Peter grins and then hurriedly stands up, answering the phone call on his way to a quieter portion of the room. Your newly found friends look at you and you paste on a smile. "It's his on again/off again girlfriend. Darcy posted a picture of Petey and I, and I have no doubt in my mind Leslie saw it."
"So she called him?" Steve frowns.
"Yep. And if Petey's still wrapped around her little finger, he'll be leaving in five, four, three, two- and there he goes." You all watch as Peter rushes towards the elevator, a little excited skip to his run. "It never fails. She doesn't necessarily want to be tied down to Peter, but she'll be damned if Petey and I have a good time together."
"Well that's shitty," Darcy mumbles.
"Preaching to the choir, D." You go to sip your drink, only to realize it's empty. You sigh. "And I need a refill."
"Ohh. Me too!" Tony holds his mug up in the air and Darcy grabs it with a laugh.
She and Wanda follow you into the kitchen, and you waste no time in preparing all four drinks once again. Then when the three of you make it back to the conversation pit, Pepper Potts has finally joined the party. Tony is quick to make her try his drink after Darcy hands it off to him, and you can't help but laugh when she wants to keep it for herself. Tony quickly introduces the two of you and then once again Sam and Bucky are needling for anything embarrassing on Peter.
"Knock it off. I'm not going to do Peter dirty like that."
"You mean like he did you dirty by bringing you to this party and then leaving you for another girl?"
"Oh shit."
Everyone goes quiet, eyes wide as they glance between you and Bucky. "Low blow, Barnes. Just for that, you ain't ever getting anything out of me for blackmail on Peter."
The conversation picks up again, you glaring at Bucky every now and then as he smugly grins at you. Steve, Tony, Clint and Bruce end up wandering off again which leaves you, Wanda, Darcy, Pepper, Natasha, Sam and Bucky in the conversation pit.
It's been nearly an hour since Peter has disappeared, so when the elevator dings to signify someone approaching, everyone readily glances in the elevator's direction. The doors slide open and Peter practically skips out.. with Leslie following on his heels in complete and utter awe.
Pepper is too focused on her phone to see those in the pit staring at you with oh shit expressions and you roll your eyes as you finish off your drinks. "Watch it with that one," you mumble. "She's a clout chaser."
Those words catch Pepper's attention, her focus immediately on the girl then and you barely feel any regret uttering those words. You figure Pepper's used to dealing with clout chasers after dealing with Tony Stark's one night stand's so long ago, so you smother a grin when Pepper winks in your direction before getting up and introducing herself to the girl.
"Well that's my cue to head on home." Darcy and Wanda frown. You huff a laugh at them, shaking your head. "Sorry. I've had three of these," you say while gesturing to your empty mug, "so my tongue's a little loose. If she even looks at me wrong, I have a feeling we're going to have a repeat of my junior year in high school."
Sam ooh's. "What happened your junior year?"
"Got a month of in-school suspension." You shrug. "Some bitch kept making cruel remarks to Peter, so one morning I borrowed my sister's class ring and used it to beat the girl's face in. Then when we were separated and our parents showed up, the same girl had the audacity to call me a crazy bitch to her parents when we were walking down the same hallway. I jumped her again."
"Nuh uh. No way," Darcy muses. "You're so nice!"
You snort and Bucky turns around in his seat. "Parker!" You bite your tongue when both Peter and Leslie turn towards your general direction. "What did Y/N do her junior year in high school to earn in-school suspension?"
Peter barks out a laugh. "She broke the ruby stone on her sister's class ring when she punched a girl in the face. Repeatedly."
Story confirmed, Bucky turns back to you and salutes you with his bottle of beer. "Okay. I did not expect that."
Your nose wrinkles as you laugh. "I was a mean girl. College mellowed me out and real life made me a lazy bitch. I'm too stressed to be a petty asshole."
"I'll drink to that," Darcy says.
You try to stay a little longer, but out of the corner of your eye you see Leslie taking selfie after selfie. Her phone is purposely raised too high and the camera's aim is off so she can capture everyone in the background rather than herself. You quietly groan as you roll your eyes. "I really need to go or I'm going to say something and make things awkward."
The group doesn't try to stop you, instead Natasha leans forward to address you. "How you gettin' home?"
"I can walk. It's actually not that far from here."
Bucky shakes his head. "I'll walk you."
"What? No." You frown. "I'm good. You stay and enjoy yourself."
"Give it up," Natasha muses, "he won't take no for an answer. We like you. Let us keep you safe."
You glance at Bucky. "Are you sure? I can honestly get home just fine. I don't want to put anyone out."
Bucky finishes off his beer. "Nah. You're good. I need some fresh air anyway."
Seeing as you're not fighting him on it, Darcy and Wanda get up to bid you a good night. They walk with you back into the kitchen to grab your shoes while Bucky walks over to Steve to tell him what he's going to do. Darcy takes your phone to enter her and Wanda's phone numbers, and she makes the suggestion that you do this again when you're free. You agree and then they make sure to tell Bucky to keep an eye on you when you end up tripping over your own shoelaces.
With her arms crossed over her chest and staring over your shoulder, Darcy says, "You weren't kidding when you said she had him wrapped around her finger." You look to where Darcy gestures and you shake your head in disappointment. "When Bucky mentioned he was taking you home, Peter didn't have anything to say. He looked at you like he wanted to say something, but then his attention was drawn right back to Leslie when she let out an obvious huff that someone needed to walk you home."
"That's Leslie and her magical vagina for you."
Darcy and Wanda giggle, and your eyes widen. You can't believe you just said that.
Bucky swings an arm around your shoulders then, chuckling. "C'mon. Let's get you out of here before we have a girl fight on our hands." He leads you into the elevator and you flip off Wanda and Darcy who are both waving and wiggling their eyebrows.
The ride down is quiet, as is the first couple blocks on your way home. Bucky's arm had lowered from your shoulders to hooking through your own arm when you tripped over the curb.
"I didn't peg you as a quiet drunk," he suddenly muses.
"Oh you'd know if I was drunk."
"Yeah?"
"Yep. I'm a sleepy drunk. If I were drunk, you'd be carrying me home." You trip over a crack in the sidewalk, giggling, but Bucky is quick to tighten his hold on your arm so you don't fall. He laughs.
"So what? Is this you tipsy?"
"More or less. I'm a bit more bold for a little while and then I'm on the hunt for food before finding a place to crash."
"A bit more bold? You looked like you were one look away from startin' a fight back there at the tower, sweetheart."
You shrug. "I don't like her."
A beat passes and then, "Is it because you're in love with Parker?" You don't answer right away and take a moment to gather your thoughts. "And answer honestly. I really am curious. Your secret is safe with me," he tells you.
Elbowing Bucky lightly, you say, "I love Peter, but I'm not in love with Peter. He's my best friend. But I don't have to be in love with him to be jealous," you say quietly. "For the longest time it was just Petey and I, then Ned came along and finally MJ. We both had our relationships, but Peter had a habit of choosing his girlfriend over his friends, and that- that hurts."
"Have you told him how you felt?"
"He knows," you admit. "Well not from me, but Ned and MJ confronted him about it. MJ got tired of it first and distanced herself. She said she had better things to do than wait around for a friend who didn't want anything to do with her while he was getting his dick wet." Bucky snorts and you grin. "Well those weren't her words exactly, but you get the drift."
"Yeah I do."
You sigh. "Then Ned told him it wasn't cool to just drop us while his full attention was on a girl who only wanted him hanging out with her friends. Peter tried to do better for a couple months afterwards, but alas Leslie wins. Again."
"I'm sure he was just excited to hear from her after so long. At least that's what I heard you tell him."
You glance up at him, eyebrow raised. "Who are you and where is the real James Buchanan Barnes?"
"What?"
"I don't know, man. I didn't peg you as someone this talkative." Bucky chuckles and a few minutes later you're glancing up at a familiar building. "Well this is me." You unhook your arm from his, smiling at him. "Thanks for walking me. I'm pretty sure I would have either scraped my palms or busted my chin had you not been there to catch me."
"Don't even worry about it. You okay taking the stairs?"
"Pft. Too much cardio. I'll take the elevator."
"Well then I guess this is where I leave you." You mockingly salute him and he shakes his head at you. "Drink some water."
"Yes, sir. See you around, Barnes."
"See 'ya."
Tumblr media
Over the next couple of days, you don't really hear from Peter. You text him to grab some dinner with you and to watch a movie, but he ends up telling you he's busy and that's that. Darcy ends up adding you to a group chat with Wanda, Natasha and Pepper, and you end up talking to them more than your own best friend. Surprisingly, none of them are fans of Peter's Leslie. While they can admit the two of them look good side-by-side, it's obvious Peter does anything and everything to keep her in good spirits even if it means putting him in an awkward position.
Admitting you and Peter were backed into two very different corners and not talking at the moment, Darcy suggests another night of drinks. You tell her you have one more week off, but Pepper's too busy running Stark Industries and Natasha is about to go off the grid for a mission. Darcy and Wanda are free, so Darcy says she'll text you the deets.
You had reached out to Peter once more, sighing when he gave you the excuse of spending time in Stark's labs. His hesitation rubbed you the wrong way, so one text to Pepper later confirmed your gut feeling that Peter had not been by all day and, in fact, had texted Tony for date night suggestions instead. So when your night out with Darcy and Wanda comes around, you walk into the bar and quickly find them, then marching up to the table and downing one of the shots there.
You cough, cringe, and then, "Is that vodka? Fuck! You should have warned me."
"You looked like a woman on a mission," Darcy says. "Who am I to get in the way of that?"
You glower at her and then accept the drink Wanda pushes towards you. It's then you notice Sam and Bucky at the table, and you narrow your eyes at them.
"If looks could kill," Sam chuckles. "Don't worry. We're designated bodyguards and drivers tonight. Just pretend like we're not even here."
"Mhm. Move over."
Sam scoffs as Bucky immediately starts pushing him further down the bench seat they're on and you take a seat on the edge. Your knee bounces anxiously beneath the table and Bucky nudges you with his arm. "What's got you so worked up?"
"Peter fuckin' Parker." Darcy and Wanda's nose wrinkle, and you sigh. "I'm just.. so over waiting for my friend to realize I still exist. It sucks to be forgotten about until the one he's devoting all his time to drops him. Then it's like he remembers I still exist and it's back to normal as if nothing ever happened."
"I like Peter," Wanda starts, "but he isn't a good friend."
You shrug. "He's been doing this since high school. It hurts, but I've gotten used to it."
"Screw that. Drink up," Darcy urges you. "No moping tonight."
"I'm down." You salute her with your glass. "To no moping."
"Aw hell," Bucky mutters. "You girls are going to be a handful," he says as he watches you down the complete drink while Darcy and Wanda cheer you on.
Bucky and Sam, being the best designated bodyguards, keep the drinks at a decent pace so none of you over-do it. The second they notice the annoyance drain out of you and you're all lazy smiles, Sam and Bucky sag in relief.
"Okay so FMK," Darcy says. "Y/N, you're up first."
"Ugh." You groan. "Do I really have to answer?"
"Yes. But don't worry, Sam and Bucky won't be one of the candidates." You smile at their offended heys! "We don't need to feed their egos."
"Alright. Hit me!"
Wanda giggles as Darcy offers up your choices. "Tony, Clint, and Thor."
"Oooh," you drawl. "Fuck Thor because you know, he looks like he'd dom the shit out of you behind closed doors." Sam snorts and Bucky glances at you, eyebrow raised. "Marry Clint because he's goofy as fuck. That'd be a fun marriage. And sadly kill Tony because you know, he's got Pepper. Hoes before bros. You don't do that to a fellow lady."
"I think you got the saying backwards there, Y/N." Sam laughs. "It's bros before hoes."
"Is it? Is it really?" You take a long sip of your drink, eyes twinkling in the low light. "Wanda's turn!" You then muse. You look at her, smirking. "Your choices are Steve, Peter, and Bruce."
She pouts at you and you can't help but laugh. She sighs. "Kill Bruce just because he's definitely not my type." You and Darcy giggle. Wanda hums. "I'm sorry, but I'd do Peter just so it's a one and done. And then marry Steve."
You coo at her. "Wanda Rogers. It has a nice ring to it."
Wanda blushes, but then she turns on Darcy. "Your turn. Sam, Bucky, and Peter."
"Hey! We're not supposed to offer up these two idiots as candidates," she says while gesturing to said two idiots.
Bucky and Sam merely grin, awaiting her answer. When you or Wanda don't budge, she rolls her eyes. "Fine. Kill Peter, fuck Bucky and marry Sam."
"You answered that way too quickly." You laugh, Sam and Bucky's smugness not going unnoticed. "But you know, same. Cheers to good taste!" You and Darcy tap your glasses together, breaking down into giggles afterward.
Bucky shakes his head fondly at the three of you. "You girls have no shame when you've got liquor in you."
You, Darcy and Wanda all share a look before you're laughing once more.
          - - - - - - - - - -
The night goes on with Darcy asking the most asinine questions she can think of. This group of people you've only met days before now know several of your sexual preferences and kinks thanks to the giggly brunette, but it was all admitted in good fun and no one teased you about it. You also know them on a more personal level and you can't believe some of the stories that leave Bucky or Darcy's mouths.
Wanda seems to be the photographer of the night and her favorite picture to take is you getting into Bucky's personal space and attempting to earn a smile from him. You managed to get one after a couple of hours- hours spent threatening to lick his face. You ended up face to face with him, staring him down, and when he said you wouldn't.. you did. It was nothing more than a kitten lick to the tip of his nose, but it was enough to send everyone into hysterical laughter. Wanda was just grateful she managed to catch the whole thing on video instead of a picture.
As Sam and Darcy went to grab another round from the bar, you glanced around the cramped building and leaned into Bucky. "I'll be back."
"Where you going, doll?"
"Bathroom. There's always a line for the ladies bathroom so it might take me a while."
"Need an escort?"
You chuckle and shake your head. "I'm fine. Don't you worry that pretty little head of yours about me."
At his nod, you squeeze his arm with assurances that you'll be back soon before scooting out of the booth. You make your way towards the back of the bar, sighing at the line down the hallway. So taking your spot in line, you lean against the wall and immediately pull out your phone.
Scrolling through Instagram, you like the few photos Darcy and Sam have posted. Wanda even posted the video of you and Bucky, and it makes you grin as it plays over and over. Although as you look at the number of likes and comments, you kind of wish the Avengers didn't have public social media.
After nearly ten minutes of waiting in line, it's finally your turn. It's a great relief to be inside the small room and then after doing your business and washing your hands, you're on your way back towards your booth. Only you've barely exited the hallway when there's a body sliding in front of you.
"Hey." You jerk to a stop, frowning at the stranger before you. "So not to be creepy, but I saw waiting in line earlier and I was wondering if I could buy you a drink."
The guy is good looking, but under the current circumstances you just want to get back to your booth. "Sorry, but my friends have me taken care of." You step aside in order to go around him, but he reaches out to capture your wrist. You jerk out of his hold. "Don't touch me."
Though you're obviously disgruntled, the guy laughs. "Come on, sweetheart, don't cause a scene. It's just a drink."
"First off, I'm not your sweetheart." He huffs. "And secondly, this scene could have been avoided if you took no for no instead of trying to pressure me until I say yes. I was willing to let your sudden introduction slide, but now? Now this is creepy. This is actually borderline harassment!"
"Whoa. Calm down, you fuckin' harpy. All I wanted was to buy you a drink and talk."
You take a step towards him, eyes glaring. "And I told you my friends had me taken care of."
Whatever Stranger Danger had planned to say dies on the tip of his tongue as an arm wraps around you from behind. But not just any arm. Oh no. A very infamous metal arm.
Bucky's arm reaches around in front of you from your left side, his hand then encompassing your right shoulder. As Stranger Danger seems to gape in fear, you can't help but lean back into Bucky's chest as your hands reach up to hold onto his arm as it rests across your chest. "Is there a problem here, doll?"
"I'm not sure. This guy can't seem to take no for an answer and that apparently makes me a fuckin' harpy now," you say.
Bucky gently squeezes your shoulder. "Hey asshole, we still got a problem here?"
"Oh, uh, no." He steps back. And then takes several more steps back. "Sorry."
As soon as he turns tail and books it back to his own group of friends you burst into laughter. You feel Bucky's own laughter against your back and you lay your head back against his shoulder while glancing up at him. "Should I feel special? I feel special," you say. "You took your sleeve off in order to scare the piss outta some douchebag."
"Yeah, yeah. Let's get back to the table. I'm pretty sure Sam, Wanda, and Darce started recording the moment I stood up."
"I can see the caption now," you say as Bucky starts to lead you to the table in question. "Sergeant Barnes saves drunken fool from being creeped on. Ovaries are going to explode all over the world. There's going to be so much fanfiction about this moment."
"Fanfiction?"
"Uhh.. don't worry about it."
"I wasn't, but now I'm interested given your reaction."
"Oohh." Darcy perks up. "Interested in what?"
"Nothing!"
"What fanfiction is?" Sam snorts as Wanda frowns, and Darcy practically bounces in her seat. Wanda scoots down the U-shaped bench towards Sam's side and Darcy scoots down as well. Bucky nudges you into the seat and he plops down right next to you before placing his arm on the back of the seat right behind you. "So what is it?"
"They are stories written by fans."
"Darcy!"
"Usually about fictional characters, but some people write about real life people. It's almost always a fantasy of theirs."
You groan and then reach over to pinch Bucky's nipple when he asks, "You write any fantasies of your own, Y/N?"
"Shut up."
He laughs at you, placing a hand over his pec to keep you from pinching him again. "No? So you read them. You obviously must do if you know what fanfiction is."
"You know Tony pays someone on the down low to write smut about him?" Darcy admits.
"What?!" You turn towards her, laughing hysterically. "If it's on the down low, then how do you know?"
"Mama's got her ways." Sam snorts at her. "And FRIDAY is one of my bff's."
For a moment all is well and then Bucky nudges you again. "So which ones did you read?"
"Oh my god," you groan. "You're not going to let this go, are you?"
Bucky smirks. "Not a chance."
"Then fine. Yes I read some fanfiction back in my high school days. I was really into vampires back in the day, the whole fangs really did it for me, so I read a lot about the Lost Boys. And Twilight even though they didn't have fangs."
"Twilight?!" Sam guffaws.
You hide your face in the palms of your hand. "I know! But to be fair, I was all about that Jasper guy and that werewolf dude Paul. I didn't really care for the other characters."
Wanda grins. "Jasper was the most handsome of the Cullen coven."
"Yes!" You look up at her. "Thank you."
"Now that is something I will cheers to." Darcy passes you a drink and you raise it alongside hers and Wanda's. "To Y/N's fang festish!"
"Hey!"
          - - - - - - - - - -
Sam and Bucky call it a night a couple hours later when you can't quite keep your head up and move between laying your head on Darcy and Bucky's shoulders.
Between the two of them, they manage to herd you, Darcy, and Wanda into a car that was parked around the corner. However the second you were pushed into the middle seat, you lean forward and tap Sam on the shoulder. "Can we get some chicken nuggies?"
"It's three in the morning!"
You sniffle. "But I want some nuggies."
"We'll get you some nuggets," Bucky says. "Now sit back so Sam can drive."
"Yes, sir."
Darcy and Wanda giggle as you sit back, and that's the last thing you remember.
The next time you wake up, you realize you're on the floor. But given the plush carpet beneath your cheek, it's not any floor in your apartment. You groan as your temples throb and you can already feel the bile in the back of your throat threatening to come up.
"What the fuck," you mumble. Your stomach lurches and you clamp your mouth shut.
"Well it seems I missed one hell of a night out." You angle your face towards the voice, stomach lurching once again when you see Tony eating a plate of food not too far from you. "Barnes and Wilson brought you back here because you were totally wasted. They didn't want you to choke on your vomit."
You gag. "Please don't say- say that word." Tony laughs at your pain. "Where are the girls?"
He points with his fork. "Behind you. You might not be able to see them over all the McDonald's trash. You girls really packed away all those nuggets. Even Steve was impressed when he got back in."
"Ugh. I'm never drinking with them again." You roll onto your side, but the movement makes the room tilt. You stop and inhale, then exhale deeply. "Mind if I sleep it off right here? If I move I'm gonna barf."
"Knock yourself out. I'll have FRIDAY warn everyone off for a few more hours."
"Yesss. You're a good man, Stark."
He gasps. "FRIDAY, did you catch that? Send the recording to Pepper. She'll be so proud."
Tumblr media
You did not break your vow of over drinking again, instead you stuck to early evening dinner with Wanda and Natasha (when she was in town) after Darcy got called away to take some readings out in a desert. And since that night where Bucky saved you from a drunken fight, he had somehow ended up with your number and would text you randomly throughout the day. Part of you played it cool, but the other part of you was very flattered that Bucky Barnes was sending you good morning and good night texts.
Then the weekend before you are to return back to work, you decide to treat yourself to brunch before you have to go home and clean.
You're sitting on the outside patio, waiting for your food to come out as you sip on your orange juice. You take a selfie, tagging your location as you post it to Instagram with the caption that you're treating yourself to all the food you can stomach before you have to return to adulting come Monday morning. Then when the waitress comes out bearing your honey raspberry and banana ricotta toast, and your breakfast casserole, you happily sigh and thank her for the quick service. You take another picture, post it, and then dig in, laughing at the comments and texts from your friends who sarcastically thank you for the invite.
You haven't even made a dent in the casserole when a shadow falls over you. You glance up mid-chew, grinning at the sight of Bucky. "This seat taken?"
You shake your head, swallowing the food that's in your mouth before addressing him. When it's gone with a little help from your juice, you ask, "What are you doing wandering around?"
"Peter's girl was at the tower, waiting for him to finish up something with Tony," he says. You snort, already figuring out something must have gone wrong. "She was mooning over Stevie and Sam said my bitch face was too obvious, so they sent me out."
"And you just happened to find me?"
"Well you did tag your location which is something we're gonna have to talk about soon."
"Oh whatever." You playfully roll your eyes. "Now shut up and help me eat this food. I see you eying the toast." Bucky smirks and readily takes one of the toasts, eating half of it in one bite. His eyes widen as a slight groan escapes and you chuckle. "Right? It's so good. I think this is going to be my go-to place from now on."
Bucky picks up a spare fork, then digs into the breakfast casserole and you laugh at his willingness to eat your food. There's very little talk as the two of you finish the food, and only after it's gone does Bucky ask, "Is Parker still a no-show to your hangouts?"
"We actually hung out two days ago," you say, "but he was only there for ten minutes before Leslie needed him to escort her to her friend's party." Bucky shakes his head and you shrug. "It is what it is. At least I got you guys out of this whole ordeal."
"You totally got the kids out of the divorce."
You snort and then glare at Bucky for making you do so in the first place. "Shut up. Petey and I are good. He's just preoccupied at the moment."
"If you say so, doll."
Clearly done with the food and ready to move on, you wave down your waitress for the check. However, before she can hand you the small folder, Bucky snatches it and shoves a single bill in there while telling her to keep the change. You know the bill he shoved in there must have been a large one given the widened eyes of the waitress when she sees it.
"Smoothe, Barnes," you muse as you stand. "But you do know I could have paid for my own food, right?"
"Yeah, but I figured I'd pay considering I crashed your alone time." He stands as well, gesturing for you to walk ahead of him. You take off walking in the direction you know your apartment is. "So you got any plans for the rest of the day?"
"Cleaning and laundry. Apparently ever since I've met this new group of people, I've put off my household duties." Bucky huffs a quiet laugh. "I plan to clean today and laze around tomorrow before I go back to work on Monday."
"Laze around, huh?" He pauses a moment and then asks, "Want some company? I'll bring the food."
You glance up at him, right eyebrow raised in amusement before you hook your arm through his. "Bucky Barnes, a man after my own heart." He chuckles as you mockingly swoon. Then straightening up, you nod. "Sure you can come over. I don't mind."
"I'm coming over for lunch and dinner, so what are you going to want?"
"Won't the others wonder where you are?"
Bucky shrugs. "Stevie's been buggin' me to get out. He'll be ecstatic."
You laugh. "Barnes, when they tell you to get out I think they mean out and about in public. Not from one enclosed space to another."
"Baby steps."
"Baby steps my ass," you muse. "But yeah, bring whatever food you like. Surprise me."
He smirks. "Okay. Will do."

Part 1
Sometimes you found yourself wondering if you were living the life you should be.
You never had the chance to build a relationship with your mother, a relationship you were desperate for the older you grew. During childbirth due to her age and complications, she passed away. And for that reason, your father couldn't stand the sight of you. You were his second child and a girl no less, there was no need for you or the loss of his beloved wife and Queen.
Although your father died when you were just five years old, the most part of you was glad of it. You had hardly any memories of him, but you were certain you were unhappy in his presence.
Your older brother and Crowned Prince of York New, Tony, reassured you daily that your father did love you but you never quite believed him. Even when Tony had been crowned the King of York New, you were unsure he was telling the truth. You knew your brother loved you, unlike your father, it showed in his brown eyes that he did.
"It's just you and I, Little Princess." Tony smiled lovingly and softly at you as he brushed away your fallen tears.
You sniffled, burying your face in his chest. "A-Are... Are you... you, go-going to sen-send me a-away?" You sobbed.
Tony sat back on the cold stone floor of the throne room and pulled you into his lap. "No, Little Princess, no! You're going nowhere, you hear? I need you by my side. You're my Queen." He whispered pressing a kiss to your forehead. "You and me, okay? You and me."
~~~~~~~~~~
Years and years of Tony's rein passed by before you knew it, but Tony kept his word. You were by his side. Even when his advisors or council tried to have him send you away, he made it clear that you were going nowhere until you were 21 years old.
Even when he took under his wing a young orphaned boy, Tony made it clear you were staying put.
The kingdom was in chaos. There had been a attack the castle and surrounding villages, but your armies were stronger, powerful, and mighty. You had been locked away in the highest tower to protect you whilst your brother fought bravely alongside his men. They fought day and night, long into the following day.
By the time word was sent for you to be taken down to the throne room, you were fast asleep.
"Princess Y/N," A soft voice whispered as you were shaken awake.
Your small eyes blinked open and looked upon the face of the guard that had been assigned to looking after you. "Happy?" You yawned, rubbing the sleep from your eyes.
Sir Hogan, or Happy as you called the slightly grumpy man, chuckled softly. "Come, Princess, His Majesty as called for you."
"Tony is safe?" You jumped up, running for the door.
You ran as fast as your little eleven years old legs would take you and didn't stop until you reached the large wooden doors of the throne room. The guards opened the door barely in time for you to dash through them.
"Anthony!"
Tony grinned as he bent down and scooped you up in his arms, hugging you close to him as he held the back of your head. "Little Princess, I'm happy to see you."
You giggled pulling back and looking at his scratched and bruised face. "What took you so long?" You pouted.
Chuckles from the King's closest friends and Knights echoed around the room as the man himself placed you back on the floor. "My apologies, My Queen." He bowed to you making you grin. "I have someone for you to meet."
Your brow knitted together, "Oh?... the head of your enemy?"
More laughs echoed as Tony rolled his eyes as he stood. He held his hand out towards Sir James where a little boy about your age stepped out from behind him. "Princess Y/N, I'd like you to meet Peter... We're going to look after him." He smiled.
Your eyes widened a little. "... He's a boy." You pouted.
Tony nodded, "He is."
"You're getting rid of me, aren't you?"
The young boy gasped, shaking his head. "Don't be silly, Princess. Everyone knows you're not allowed to go anywhere."
You scowled at the boy. "I'm never silly..." You folded your arms and looked away.
Sir James rolled his eyes with a scoff. "Definitely your sister." He muttered so only the King could hear.
Tony shot his friend a glare. "Little Princess," Tony knelt in front of you. "This boy's family was... killed. He had no parents already, but his Aunt died tonight. There was no one left to look after him, the village was, practically destroyed... What would you have me do? Send him away? Let him die?"
You let out a sigh, looking back to Peter. "Do you like horses?"
He nodded, "I like swords too."
Your eyes lit up. "What about bow and arrows?"
Peter nodded, "I'm the best." He said triumphantly, crossing his arms over his chest.
You scoffed, "You haven't seen me, yet."
"Oh, yeah?"
"Yeah."
As the years rolled on, your friendship and bond with Peter only grew, as did the council's worries. They decided it was time Tony took a wife and gave the kingdom a Queen once more. Another feeble attempt of them trying to have you sent away. 'It's time you had an heir, there's no need to have the Princess here.' And as he always would do, Tony told them no. You were still the rightful heir to the throne whilst he had no Son and Heir.
You loathed this part of the evening, where one man tried to up the other with gifts, all to impress the King and make himself look superior to others.
Tony leaned over the side of his throne and nudged you, "Look happy, it's your... cow statue, birthday gift." He mocked the gift currently being presented to you, just as bored as you were by the process.
You lowered your face towards your lap and bit back your giggle.
"His Royal Highness, Prince Steven of Brook," The court announcer introduced the next person to present their birthday gift to you.
"King Anthony, Queen Virginia," The blond-haired Prince bowed before you.
"Prince Steven," The King and Queen greeted their friend, happy to see him after so long.
"How are you this evening, old friend?" Tony smiled.
Prince Steven smiled in return, "Very well, thank you, Your Majesty. How are you?"
Tony nodded, "About ready for another drink," He breathed out glancing down to his empty cup.
You let out a small snicker trying to keep up your ladylike facade, knowing Queen Virginia or Pepper as she was known to her close family, would scold you for being improper.
Prince Steven turned his gaze to you and bowed again, "Princess, may I say you're looking breathtakingly beautiful tonight," He teased, knowing how flustered you could get.
You smiled through your blush. "You do flatter me, Prince Steven."
He let out a soft chuckle. "May I present to you my gift?"
"You may,"
Prince Steven nodded and turned his attention to the servant waiting patiently. He took a velvet square box from the young boy and approached you. "Happy Birthday, Princess." He smiled softly at you as he handed you a box and took your hand in his and bowed to you. "I hope you find it as beautiful as I do. My only fear is, your beauty will outshine and render it ugly." He pressed his lips against your knuckles and made you blush once more.
"You're engaged, remember, Prince Steven," Tony teased, glancing over to the brunette woman who was watching the interaction like a hawk.
"Anthony," Queen Virginia scolded your brother from his other side, putting a smile on your face.
"Please ignore my brother, Your Highness... Fool," You hissed playfully at the King beside you, making him chuckle.
Prince Steven stepped back with his hands up to show no hard feelings. "I know what His Majesty can be like, Princess." He chuckled softly, "Please, open your gift, and ignore his Royal Majesty the fool." Prince Steven grinned mischievously.
Tony scoffed dramatically, making you giggle before you opened the velvet box carefully and immediately gasped, "Oh, my," You ran your fingers over the beautiful necklace that laid inside.
Tumblr media
"Prince Steven, this is most beautiful." You smiled, memories of your first time in Brook rushing back to you.
Prince Steven let out an audible sigh of relief. "Is it the same colour? As the sea in Brook."
You nodded, looking up to meet his waiting gaze. "...Yes. Thank you,"
Prince Steven smiled, "You're welcome, Princess. I'll allow you to get back to your other guests." He bowed again, "Happy 16th Birthday, Princess," He whispered before he left to be by his fiance's side.
The guests continued to present their gifts to you and the King, and although they were all unique and beautiful in their own way none were as beautiful and meaningful as Prince Steven's.
"His Royal Highness, Prince Brock of Lower East,"
Your blood ran cold and the great hall fell silent at the mention of that man's name. The dark-haired Prince smirked as he approached you, his hands clasped behind his back.
"Your Majesties," He bowed (if that's what you could call it) to your King and turned his attention to you. "How beautiful you look tonight, Princess Y/N."
You held your head high keeping your gaze fixed ahead of you. "Thank you,"
Prince Brock turned his attention to Tony, "I do hope you've taken my request into consideration, Your Majesty."
Tony's brow knitted together. "There's no need, Prince Brock. My sister is not of age yet and, I'm sorry to say this but you are not who I intend for her to marry."
You gasped loudly drawing the attention of those closest to you, turning in your throne to gape at your brother. "Tony, please-"
He held his hand up to silence you, "Present your gift to the Princess, and we'll discuss no more of this business."
"Very well." Prince Brock nodded with a tightly set jaw as he clicked his fingers at the servant. He snatched the much smaller box from the shaking boy's hands. "It seems somewhat pointless now." He stepped forwards and placed the box in your hands, letting his fingers graze yours. "But, I will buy you a thousand and more if it means you becoming my wife."
"I said, enough!" Tony slammed his fist against the armrest of his throne, it echoed around the silent hall.
"Please, my love," Queen Virginia placed a comforting hand on her husband's arm to calm him.
You scowled down at the box, opening it to find a hideous engagement ring. "I can not accept this-"
"You must. It is your birthday gift... nothing more, thanks to your King."
"Thank you, Prince Brock," You thanked him before Tony could speak, sensing he would most likely order his head to be off or something to that effect. You sighed as you closed the box up, handing it back to the servant. You smiled kindly at him and thanked him.
Prince Brock eyed you before glancing over to where Prince Steven was stood with his fiance and his trusted best friend and Knight, Sir James Barnes. "You know, it's almost unfortunate, you being here tonight."
"I'm afraid I don't follow, Prince Brock. How can my 16th birthday celebrations be unfortunate?" You scowled at the man.
"Well... on one hand, we are graced with your ever-growing beauty and charm, but if it was not for the unfortunate death of your father and King, brought on by those... we shall not mention, you would not be sat where you are." He smirked triumphantly as you visibly paled at the mention of your father.
You felt Tony shift beside you and out the corner of your eye, you saw Sir James begin to disappear away from prying eyes. Anger boiled up inside you, "HOLD YOUR TONGUE!" You shouted and raised to your feet before Tony could stop you. Silence fell over the court as you glared daggers at the prince before you. "How dare you, speak of my father? How dare you show my family and I disrespect, in our own Castle, our own Kingdom.
"The past is the past, Prince Brock, and we do not judge others today by the actions and misunderstandings of others then," You turned and moved over to the servant snatching the Prince's gift back. "If you can not show my family and I the respect we deserve and can only continue to spit evil among our celebrations then I must ask you to leave, Prince Brock, and take your unwanted gift back." You heavily dropped it into his hand.
Silence resumed throughout the great hall as King Anthony stood from his throne and stood behind you. "You heard the Princess, Prince Brock. Leave." He nodded his head towards nearby guards. "Please escort Prince Brock out of the Castle and our Kingdom." Tony placed his hand on your shoulder as the Prince was removed.
"You'll regret this, Stark!"
Once Prince Brock had been removed, you moved over to where Sir James Barnes was stood with Prince Steven and his fiance, hoping the celebrations could continue.
"Sir James, would you care to dance?" You smiled kindly up at him.
Sir James began to blush and glanced to Prince Steven who was being tugged closer by his fiance. "Shouldn't you be asking one of the princes to dance, Your Highness?"
"There'll be plenty of time for that, Sir James. But for now, I would like to dance with a kind man, I hope will be a good friend of mine one day." You smiled.
Sir James began to grin before he nudged Prince Steven's side. "Tough luck, Princey." He jabbed at the blond prince making you smile.
Prince Steven chuckled, "Have fun, Bucky." Prince Steven smiled warmly at you with a nod. "Princess,"
You nodded, "Prince Steven," You looked to his fiance with a faux smile, "Princess Margret."
Sir James lead you into the middle of the crowd as the music began to play, and slowly the two of you began to move together.
The two of you danced in comfortable silence until Sir James cleared his throat, "I must thank you for your kind and brave words, Your Highness." Sir James whispered.
"They were the truth, Sir James."
He nodded, "Still. I know what my father did all those years ago, isn't the easiest thing to forgive."
You shook your head. "But it doesn't reflect the person you are." You smiled up at him. "You're a good man, Sir James... a far better man than Prince Brock." You reached up and pressed a kiss to his cheek before excusing yourself and left through the french windows with Peter.
"Buck?" Prince Steven approached the brunet knight. "Everything okay?"
Sir James nodded and turned to face his best friend and Prince of Brook. "More than, Your Highness."
"You seem to be getting on very well with the Princess, James." Princess Margret spoke from beside her fiance with a hidden look.
Sir James nodded, "She's a very kind young princess, Your Highness."
Prince Steven nodded, "That she is, Bucky." He smiled as he turned to watch you walk out of sight into the gardens.
My thoughts...
WARNING: NWH and end credits spoilers under the cut!
So I initially went into this movie for Doctor Strange because it’s been far too long since I’ve seen my wizard husband on screen.
Anyway. With that said.
* First, Aunt May destroyed me. I hate it.
* I felt so much childhood nostalgia. I thought I would burst in the theater.
* Andrew’s spiderman saving MJ!!!! I knew it was going to happen, but it made me so emotional when it did.
* Doctor Strange was just perfect. I loved how he was such a dad the entire movie. Just his energy in this move did something for me. I’m so in love with him tbh. Although there is a few things I can nitpick that upset me, but I’m not going to get into that now.
* I love the friendship between Peter, MJ, and Ned. The scene where they comfort him on the roof. It was so sweet and well done.
* Doctor Strange getting emotional about the spell at the end just sent me. He really does wear his heart on his sleeve.
* I hated the ending. Not gonna lie. I hate that everyone forgot him. I just hate it and I feel like it makes the entire movie pointless. Seriously what was the point of everything? I don’t know. Maybe I’ll feel differently after my second watch.
* The humor in this movie was great and completely underrated. I don’t see anyone talking about how freaking funny this entire movie was. I laughed more in this movie than any other marvel movie. I loved that about it.
* Doctor Strange. That’s it.
Now let’s talk about the end credits MoM trailer.
* I’m so nervous for this movie. I swear if they fuck up my two favs (Wanda and Strange) I’ll riot.
* Wanda’s braid was cute.
* Stephen watching the woman he still loves marry someone else. Ouch.
* The floating door scene? It actually looks like Christine behind Stephen. Not Wanda. I’m so freaking confused.
* Wanda looks so good. Although I’m afraid of what they’re going to do to her character. I feel like writers love using a female characters’ pain to turn them into murderous villains (is thinking of a certain tv show that ended very badly because of this trope). Anyway, I hope they don’t do that. I will not be happy.
* Supreme Strange at the end? Super exciting.
* I’m very interested in America. I don’t know much about her, just a few things about her background and stuff, but I’m curious what role she’ll play. I love being introduced to new characters so it’s exciting.
* I hope Clea is in the movie, or at least in the end credits scene or something. I just want her in the MCU so bad. I also hope they don’t mess up her character. She’s such an interesting female character and she’s an absolute girl boss in her own right. I just hope they hire an actress who will have great chemistry with Benedict Cumberbatch because those two are intense in the comics, and the MCU tends to struggle with romantic chemistry between characters. I’d hate to see their relationship portrayed as dull or uninteresting. I want people who don’t read the comics to love them and ship them as much as us Clea fans do.
PART ONE  PART TWO
Ever since the incident at the drive-in theater, Y/N has been avoiding Peter. Whenever MJ, Peter, and Ned would walk out of school together, Y/N wouldn’t be leaning out of the window of the car smiling and waving at them. She would have the window rolled up and looked either straight out the ahead or down at her phone.
Peter told Ned about the whole situation but didn’t tell MJ. He knew she would kill him because Y/N is her cousin and their like sister towards each other.
“Peter I don’t know what your gonna do, but you gotta do it fast cause sooner or later MJs’ gonna find out and your not only gonna lose the girl you have a major crush on but also your best friend,” Ned pointed out to Peter. Peter didn’t want to admit it but he was right. He had to come out with the truth to Y/N one way or another. He had to tell her that he does like her and that he lied about the stark internship.
He had to tell her that he was Spider-Man.
“Yeah Ned, I guess you right.”
“I am right Pete. Now go get your Princess Leia,” Ned teased as the bell rang, signaling that it was time for them to leave. The two boys made their way out of the building, talking about their project they still had yet to finish. They didn’t see MJ around like how she usually is until they heard familiar voices coming from behind them.
“Here’s your schedule and your and the supply list. You can also sign up for clubs if you would like,” an administrator said.
“I’ll think about it. That you so much.” there it was. That voice. It was Y/N talking to the administrator. But I thought she was homeschooled? Peter thought to himself, trying to wrap his mind around what was going on. It’s not like it was a bad thing that Y/N was coming to Midtown, but MJ told him that she really wasn’t the type to go to school. She hated big crowds of people and was never really good at making friends.
“Ok well, I can’t wait to have you as a new student at Midtown!”
Peter and Ned looked at each other with wide eyes then turned fully around to see who was behind them, even though they already knew by the voices. “Peter…”
“Ned,” he said to the tan boy next to him. They were both in shock by what they just heard.
“Y/N’s going to Midtown?” they said in sync.
“Yes, she is,” MJ added as she and her cousin walked over to stunned boys. Ned sent them both a smile and Y/N sent him one back with a small ‘hi’. Peter couldn’t help but notice that something was different about her.
She’s not wearing her glasses.
The four of them walked out of the building together, telling Y/N about all the teachers and classes at the high school. She also explained that she was tired of being homeschooled and wanted to have something to do outside of her one personal bubble. This new information didn’t make much sense to Peter. She seemed so happy when she was at home from what he could see.
Ned said goodbye to the two girls before heading over to the bus, beckoning Peter over.
“Later MJ, b-bye Y/N.”
“See ya, Parker,” MJ responded before getting into the passenger side of the car, kicking her feet up on the dashboard.
“Hey! Feet off the dashboard dude,” Y/N yelled at her cousin. MJ mocked her expression before chuckling lightly- keeping her feet on the dashboard. “Goodbye, Peter,” she said coldly, turning back to Peter before getting into the driver’s side, pulling away from the curb before speeding off down the road.
“I miss you.”
The brown-eyed boy whispered to no one, but it was meant for Y/N. He truly did miss her. Even if they had met only one week ago, that same surge of energy raced through him. Peter knew this wasn’t an ordinary crush- he didn’t know what it was. But he knew he couldn’t afford to lose it. He felt like he was falling apart without her. He didn’t intend to be that rude to her that night at the drive-in, it just happening and he regretted it the second he did it once he saw that heartbroken-hearted look on her face. But instead of apologizing to her, he just sat there.
“Sup penis Parker!” a kid named flash yelled and he sped by him, causing Peter’s brown curly hair to fall into his face. Great.
“Hey kid, I ain’t got all day. Ya getting on or not?” the bus driver said to Peter. He slumped his shoulders and lugged himself into the bus, taking his seat next to his best friend. “It’s gonna be ok man,” Ned told Peter, trying to comfort him.
I hope so.
///
Peter was late-night patrolling as he usually did and spotted MJ’s place. Not being able to restrain himself he swung over to the building next to it. He noticed that that same room light was on that was on the first time he stopped by MJ’s on a night patrol as Spider-Man.
Looking through the window to the lit room, he saw Y/N. she was sitting on her bed, her legs crisscrossed as she wrote something down in a thick, brown, leather-backed journal.
He smiled at the sight before him. Y/N was wearing the glasses. She pushed them up on her face with her knuckle and continued them to write. Someone must have called her name because she got up from her position on the bed and left her room.
Curiosity took over Peter as he swung over the ledge of the fire escape that was right at Y/N’s window. He peered into it and used his mask to focus closely on the open journal sitting on the bed. It was a letter:
Dear dad,
I can’t do this anymore. I miss you so much. You were what made me smile every day, and you still do. But I thought I had found someone who could make me smile even more. He’s beautiful dad. He has amazingly curly brown hair and the brightest brown eyes I had ever seen. His smile made me smile just like how your smile made me smile. He was the one that convinced me to wear my glasses… your glasses. Not MJ. not mom. He did. I thought he liked me as much as I liked him, but I was wrong. And now I can’t stop thinking about what you told me: some people fall in love with the wrong people sometimes. I think he was the one dad, the wrong one. The one I wasn’t supposed to be with. But why does it hurt so much? I’ve been preparing for this to happen to me ever since you told about false love. But now that it actually happened, I cant take it. I cant let him go. But I-
The letter stopped. And anyone could tell that Y/N had been crying as she wrote it- there were tear strains covering the page.
Peter felt lightheaded. Tears flooded his chocolate eyes and he unfocused his mask from the page. He slumped down, his back not facing the window. He was hurt. It felt like everything in the world had stopped, as time had frozen. He couldn’t bear to know the fact that he hurt Y/N so much to the point she thinks it’s her fault.
He yanked the mask off of his face, his cheeks burning a shade of crimson just like his eyes. Peter ran a shaky hand through his hair, gripping it as he grounded out in frustration.
Letting go he slammed his fist against the brick behind him, yelling out in pain. But not physical pain. He felt like someone just ripped out his heart and stomped on it.
“Hello?” Peter jumped at the voice coming from inside of Y/N’s room. Nows your change Peter. Just go tell her the truth. That’s what one side of Peter said, the other side was the opposite. You cant tell her now, she’ll just hate you more. You have to wait for the right moment.
But when was the right moment?
“MJ, did you hear that or am I fucking crazy?” Y/N asked as she exited the room. Peter took this chance to get away without being seen. He made his way but to his shared apartment with Aunt May. Entering his room and sitting on his bed, tears ran down his face as he silently sobbed.
///
“Students, I need your attention,” everyone quieted down their own conversations to hear what was about to be said. “I would like to introduce you to our new student, Y/N,” Peter’s head snapped but to look to the front of the class. His eyes landed on Y/N. he couldn’t help but admire her outfit. She was wearing high-waisted but loose, flared jeans with a grey Slytherin sweatshirt and black converse- ones like MJs. her fingers were covered in rings and she has a small necklace. There was a bag draped over her shoulder and her hair was pulled up into a messy ponytail. She was holding her glasses in her hand, not daring to put them on.
Not in front of all these people. More importantly, in front of Peter.
Her head hung and she stared at her feet, twisting the ring on her thumb. The teacher told that she could take a seat at an empty chair, and just to her luck, Ned wasn’t at school that day. So she was forced to sit next to Peter. She didn’t want to argue so she took her seat and sat there quietly not daring to even glance at the boy next to her.
Half an hour went by and Peter noticed Y/N fidgeting next to him. Her hands were shaking, her ears were turning bright red and she shook the table from how much she was bouncing it. She was taking notes but the handwriting was illegible she was consistently squinting at the board, trying to read what was being written.
“Hey Y/N, are you ok?”
“Fine,” she let out shakily, avoiding eye contact with Peter. He grabbed her hand, causing her to look him in the eye. Y/N’s eyes were red, tears swelling in the corners.
“We’re going to the bathroom. Now.”
“No Peter I’m f-fine.”
Peter grabbed Y/N’s arm, pulling out of the chair and into his arms, picking up their belonging with his free arm. They snuck out the back door to the classroom he and Ned used to sneak out of.
Walking through the halls, Y/N’s breath became shallow. “Peter, peter I wanna go home. Please take me home. There are too many people in there. They were all looking at me a-and I didn’t want them to look at me. MJ. Peter where is MJ. I need-”
“Ssshhh, relax Y/N. I’m gonna take you home,” Peter said, rubbing her back. She nodded her head at him as they walked through the back doors of the school.
SORRY THAT THIS PART WAS SHORT BUT THE NEXT ONE WILL BE LONG AND I HAVE SOME REALLY GOOD SURPRISE COMING IN THE NEXT PARTS. I LOVE YOU GUYSSSSS
Dating Peter Parker headcanon pt 2
This is a part 2 to my previous headcanon I wrote so I would recommend you read it one first, (I make a few references to it) and let me know what you think!
Part 1 || Masterlist
Tumblr media
Going on a ‘proper’ date with Peter Parker would always be a little weird
and weird meaning both of you would be uncomfortable
not because you don’t like each other
but more because you are both seriously worried
Peter worried that you would not like something on the date
and you worried you would mess up
which neither are true but your both anxious people who want to make sure that they other is happy
anyways you both realized that you felt more comfortable doing dates in more familiar areas were their is less pressure
such as movie nights or walks in central park
ice skating and some art museums
and the occasional swing around New York City
Of course you could go out to fancy restaurants but you preferred each other with less strangers around
Aunt May finding out about how you two are dating by seeing you both passed out on his bed cuddling with a rom-com playing on his computer
Also Peter Parker is a sucker for Rom-coms, he loves every single one ever since you introduced him to them
Some of his favorites include 10 Things I Hate About you and The Princess Bride
But if anyone were to ask him about his favorite movie he would definitely say Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back
Simply because it help him come up with the idea on how to take down Ant Man when he was with Mr. Stark and his ‘friends’ in their little Civil War
But anyway, May would be coming back from her shift at the hospital and wanting to quickly check on Peter, but would be met with the two of you cuddling really close
and not just because its a small bed
more because you wanted to be close
but May is not one to assume so when Ned is next over she quickly pulls him aside to ask
“is Peter dating y/n?”
“Aunt May I-I don’t think you should be asking me”
“I’m going to say that’s a yes then”
“I did not say that!”
“Don’t worry i won’t tell them that you told me”
“But I didn’t!”
Also every single one of Peter’s friends would call May, ‘Aunt May’
She always tells people to just say May but secretly she really likes being called Aunt May
She also does not like Ms. Parker, she says it makes her seem old
Eventually Peter works up the courage to tell her that you are dating each other
also risking your sleepovers while doing so
which is a huge issue between the two of you
“Hey Aunt May, uh- I wanted to let you know y/n and I are dating, and we have for a little while. I just wanted you to know.”
“I’ve known for a little while Pet-”
“WAIT HOW DID YOU FIND OUT?”
“You and y/n were cuddling much closer then usual.”
Peter being all nerves for no reason and him then immediately texting you an update,
with wayyyy too many hearts
and you responding with wayyyy too many hearts too
and not the emoji hearts,
<3 hearts
because those type of hearts are just simply more special then any other emoji
Peter Parker would make music playlists for you
and about you
and about your relationship
just songs in general that remind him of you
and they are all some cheesy stuff
with a surprising amount of love songs
Whenever one of you hears a song that reminds you of the other, you immediately add it to your playlist and send a text thats like “I ADDED A SONG GO LISTEN RN”
and no matter what the other was doing, you or Peter would listen to the song right away and reply “AHHHH ITS PERFECT”
because you could always perfectly capture the perfect song for either about the other or about your relationship
and sometimes when Peter is bored and missing you, he would go through the songs that are on the playlist about your relationship starting at the very beginning
the beginning songs are filled with songs about love confession
and as your scroll to more recent songs your would slowly start to see more ‘deeper’ ones
or songs that are more about how you want to stay with each other forever and how your in love
and it always makes him smile as he presses play to listen to the playlist
Peter’s favorite time of day would be late at night
because then he would normally be finishing with patrol and for some reason you would still be awake
so either he would sneak into your apartment or you would meet him on the fire escape by his window
because you guys got some ‘boy next door’ and ‘I’m in love with my best friend thats my neighbor’ stuff going on
and you guys would stay together all night
your parents would think your just having a sleepover and its not big deal
but aunt may would raise an eyebrow after figuring it out you too are together
but in the end she trusts you and Peter so she does not mind
and every night you would be talking about your day
snuggling close together
and eventually falling asleep together
Peter Parker’s little sister
In this story Tony never died in Endgame because he deserved so much better.
-Peter's POV-
It had been a few week since the massive battle against Thanos and the world has some-what gone back to normal. The main problem was that mine and Aunt May's apartment had been taken by a small family. We had no where to go. Mr Stark had decided to start making tech again and bought back Stark tower to live in.
Luckily Mr Stark had a few extra rooms and allowed us to stay with him. This was amazing as it allowed us to work in the labs for as long as we wanted, with Aunt May and Pepper's approval, and I never had to worry about hiding Spider Man from Aunt May. It also allowed Tony to keep a close eye on me when ever I got injured, which happens quite a lot when you're in a new environment and don't know your way around. Or where the doorways are, you'd thing my spidy sense would help but apparently not. Also, a major perk to living with Tony was also living with Morgan. Morgan was the most adorable little girl anyone could ever lay eyes on. I remember when I first met her.
-The day after the boss battle-
It was the day after the battle and Mr Stark had invited me and Aunt May to eat at his lake house. When we arrived I was immediately greeted but a small child, five or so, who invited us in.
"Morgan, you can't just invite people in without asking me or mommy." Mr Stark lightly scolded the child before hugging me and my Aunt while saying his hellos.
"But Daddy it's only Peter." The child rebutted shocking me. Who was this kid?
"Morgan that doesn't matter. Anyway, meet Morgan, my five year old daughter. Morgan this is Peter and his Aunt May." Tony introduced.
"Hello Morgan. How come you know who I am?" I asked her gently.
"My daddy always talks about you all the time. He said you were basically his son, this makes you my big brother." Morgan explained making Me and Mr Stark go a bit red faced.
"Dinners ready!" Pepper yelled diffusing the kind of awkward situation as we all made out way to the dinning room.
We all took our places at the table, Tony at the head, me next to Morgan and Aunt May facing me next to Pepper. It didn't take us long before the conversation started again and soon we were all laughing and joking like old friends. Well, I guess we all kind of are.
After food we moved into the living room where Aunt May started asking questions about the battle and how they figured out what to do. Tony was telling the story of when he decided to help when Morgan came over and sat on my lap. I froze up not knowing what to do and tried to capture the attention of Pepper or Mr Stark without disturbing Morgan to no avail.
"Peter, are you really my big brother?" Morgan asked looking at me with her large brown eyes.
"I can be if you want me to be." I told her smiling. Who can deny that face.
"Can you really walk on ceilings? Daddy told me a story where you walked on the ceiling in his old house." Morgan asked with her eyes lighting us.
"I can. Wanna see?" I offered. Her large eyes lit up at the prospect of seeing me walk upside down.
"Yes please." She responded.
I smiled before moving her off my lap and walking over to the wall ready to climb up only the ceiling. Once I did I looked over at everyone and saw Morgan's eyes shining like a thousands suns.
"I have the coolest big brother ever!" She yelled and dust bumped the air making everyone laugh at her enthusiasm.
"Peter be careful. I only just got you back and I don't want to loose you to a slight fall." Mr Stark told me making me smile. He does care.
"Okay Mr Stark." I said before climbing down and touching my feet to the ground.
"After everything and you still call me Mr Stark." He sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose between his thumb and forefinger.
"Fine Dad. Is that better?" I asked sarcastically but seriously. Does that make sense? Oh well.
"Much." He smirked before standing up and ruffling up my hair.
"Daddy leave my big brother alone." Morgan scolded her father and pushed him away from me.
"Don't mess with me. I have Morgan Stark on my side." I warned everyone before picking Morgan up and placing her on my hip.
"Yeah. And I've got Spider Man on mine." Morgan added making everyone laugh.
The rest of the night was spent playing games and catching up on the last five years. Also, explaining Spider Man to Aunt May because that was something I forgot to do before hand. She almost killed me but it was okay in the end.
-Present Time-
"Peter! Peter wake up!" Morgan yelled while jumping on me. This kid could do some damage.
"Alright sergeant Stark. I'm awake." I sighed while sitting up before pulling her back down and tickling her.
Her sweet giggles filled the room for a few seconds before the sound of a camera click caught my attention. I looked up to find Mr St-Dad (still getting used to it) stood in my door way with a camera in his hands.
"Come on kids. Breakfast is ready." He informed before walking away smiling like a maniac.
"Petey I'm hungry." Morgan complained and stuck her bottom lip out, looking very adorable if I do say so myself.
"Come on them. To food we go!" I yelled before picking the small child up and carrying her to the kitchen area and placing her on one of the bar stools.
"Here are your pancakes. And here are yours." Pepper informed while placing two plates of pancakes lathered in maple syrup infront of me and Morgan. Big mistake.
Once we wolfed down those pancakes me and Morgan ran off to cause our required daily amount of mischief for the day. Target one: Dad.
We slowly and quietly walked down to the lab where Dad was working on some piece of technology. Hasn't really changed.
"Okay we need a plan. What've you got?" I whispered to Morgan.
"We could sneak up on his and shout boo really really loudly down his ear. It always scares him." Morgan whispered back.
"Sounds like a plan. Let's move out." I spoke while we continued to creep down the stairs and towards Dad, who had his back turned to the open door.
"BOO!" We yelled right down his ear before quickly running back up the stairs and to the main living area.
"Hey Pepper." I greeted before throwing myself onto a vacant couch closely followed by Morgan who jumped on me. Heavy child.
"Oof Morgan. You're heavy." I fake complained in a strained voice.
"No I not. You're super strong like uncle Steve." Morgan said matter of factly.
"Am I now? How do you know that?" I asked lifting my head up to look at her.
“Daddy told me. He told me the story about how to picked a house up 'cause a bad man threw it on you." Morgan informed.
"He did now. What else did your Daddy tell you about me?" I asked in genuine curiosity.
"You'll be sat there all day before she's even half way finished." Pepper informed before getting off of the other couch and walking out of the room.
Morgan then explained every single story Dad had told her about in my absence, even stuff I didn't tell him about like the house party with Liz and Flash. What a disaster. And my time in Berlin, he even showed her the recordings I had made. I also found out that Tony managed to take all of mine and Aunt May's personal items with him after the dusting as I call it. Things like family air looms and and cameras were stored in a spare room at the lake house, which the family still owned.
After a few hours of stories I had never felt so loved in my life after hearing how much Tony had praised me in my absence. As much as he pretends to be this cold figure to the public, me and my little sister know his true cinnamon roll centre. The big softie Stark and his two minions.
Spider-Man: Far From Home
A joint review...
Despite Becks freezing her tits off and Cass being accidentally poisoned by her housemate we managed to both write practically the same notes. And for the vast majority of the film these were quite cheery notes, which is a welcome change of late. We both had a good time. The end...
Jokes.
Tumblr media
We very much enjoyed the opening presentation, because we too have witnessed such (painfully accurate) art on social media of late (it's sort of become a problem and yet Becks can't stop looking! And then showing Cass!) but it did cause us to think of all the fan stuff there would be in that universe, and wouldn't it be weird as an Avenger to stumble across that sort of thing about yourself? In fact Cass has read some fanfic on a similar topic - (she would like to add she’s read that piece more than once, it really was very good!) Inception fanfiction (not fanfiction based on the film inception, just the concept of fanfiction within fanfiction, we'll stop now...). We too would be pissed off about having to repeat the school year. Voldemort would never. He may have had a lot of faults, but at least the Dark Lord was considerate of the education of those kids he was bothering. Another reason we HATE Thanos.
Before we embark on our European Tour, we would like to show our appreciation of Aunt May. Instead of chastising and worrying needlessly (well there may be a little need) about Peter, May has got him working the Charity circuit, donning his outfit and showing off his terrible public speaking skills, also giving Happy the opportunity to stammer adorably each time he sees her. We get it Happy, we know. We also would send Nick Fury to voicemail. It looks like a lot of fun.
I may not know much, but I know this. Europeans love Americans.
We love you Ned, and that's all that matters.
This school trip blows our minds. Why have they let Mr Harrington be in charge of another outing, when the last was so very perilous? He also seems to be going through some shit in his personal life, that Cass was oddly moved by, but Becks just found funny. Also, it’s classed as a science trip. But as Mr Dell points out towards the end, there was no science, and we didn't even see the chance for science. Science.
Tumblr media
We once went on holiday to Venice, some of the highlights included an ice cream called 'Puffo?', getting shushed by a ghost that no one believes us about but definitely happened, and an incident with multiple blankets and the guilt with which Cass shrieked ‘it’s not what it looks like!’ in much the same way Peter did later in this movie. Other than that we were sort of sad that none of these things were replicated in the film, but we did enjoy seeing places we'd also been.
Are teenage boys usually that romantic? We don't recall them being so sweet and wholesome as Peter and Ned. We definitely recall them being more on the Flash scale of idiocy. Boys are stupid, throw rocks at them (does that age us terribly?)!
Tumblr media
Speaking of boys, we now get formally introduced to Mysterio. With his magnificent cloak (which autocorrected to something quite different in Becks' notes) and his bizarre headwear. Becks questioned why he would wear a goldfish bowl on his noggin, whereas Cass went on a mind wander about a crystal ball.
Cass: What do you foresee, Crystal Ball Head?
Mysterio: Trouble!
*Becks sniggering in the background at the phrase ball head*
We also really appreciated this quote from Peter:
"I'm really strong, and I'm sticky!"
Cass had a moment but got it together as we watched the fight unfold. Lots of water, lots of damage, and a bizarre amount of green smoke emitting from ol' Mysterio. A strange choice to make. Did no one think what we were thinking? Really, no one did? No one stopped him, and were like, you look like you're powered by farts? Maybe that's the reason for the ball head.
The class stayed remarkably calm during the whole battle, they've seen too much before. We enjoyed the whole scene where they chatted on about it, Flash insulting Peter, and especially Mr Dell's explanation of the whole thing:
You know, being a man of science, witches.
Then Nick Fury comes to threaten some kids, and ruin a perfectly good holiday. Do you remember that time we used to be on Nick's side (I think as it turns out it might have just been one or two films...)? Well not any more buddy. He says that there was a time he used to know everything and we strongly disagree. He didn't know that his best friend was evil and that his organisation was riddled with HYDRA. They all looked like bad guys Nicholas, get a fucking clue! Anyway, he makes Peter dress up for a little moonlit boat trip through Venice to a convenient secret lair where he then says he may as well take the mask off cos everyone knows who he is. WHY DID YOU MAKE HIM DRESS UP NICK?! (We would like to point out we know it’s not Nick, but we're not going to stop calling him that, because we're sure he would have made the same choices, so just go with us.) He does however give us the line:
Bitch please, you've been to space.
So we will say he is not without worth. And he manages to deliver Tony's gift to Peter alright. Tony Tech as we both called it. Has anyone used that phrase before? Not that we're aware of. Did we both use it throughout our personal notes, independently of each other? Yes, yes we did.
We then find out Mysterio's name is Quentin, which made us both laugh. He then offends everyone else in the room. (In Becks’ notes it just says, fuck you smartest in the room, get fucked). Maria Hill (Becks loves Maria Hill) looks ready to slap him, and it begins the fifty millionth evidenced time we see Fury being a poor judge of character.
Then it’s away to Prague I guess, on a coach, even though we're in Venice. A slight logistical nightmare, but perhaps all the drones flew it across and nobody noticed. Another nightmare, their tiny luggage. They are away for two weeks, and can carry all their belongings in a single suitcase. Becks will go away for two nights and be at times physically incapable of lifting her suitcase from the train to the platform. (Cass has gone so far as to suggest that if Becks had been on the Titanic it would have sunk long before encountering any icebergs due to the weight of all of her belongings, but at least she would be okay having packed her shipwreck galoshes and deep sea divers helmet just in case.)
Sexualising Peter is a weird thing. We know Tom Holland is a grown up (although is he? He's a problem is what he is!) but he is playing a 16 year old boy, and it’s weird how often they make him take his shirt off. Right? Right. And when he uttered the phrase, it’s a little tight around the old web shooter, Cass nearly screamed. The more you think about it, the worse it gets. Is that what's coming out of his arms? Teenage boys are truly disgusting.
Tumblr media
This all being said, he is very relatable trying to blow up Brad. We didn't like Brad. Brad who was technically younger than them, and yet looked the same age as us. Fuck off Brad. He deserved all the drone strikes.
Then Nick Fury tells him he isn't ready for this responsibility, after forcing it on Peter, after Peter has said he wasn't ready for this responsibility. Fucks sake Nick, he's a child. Fury is a terrible manager. SHIELD clearly never enforced mandatory wellbeing training, another reason we're glad of its demise. It did let us see Quentin begin to wriggle his way into Peter's heart, and the better the rip it out later on. Perhaps in 10 years time Peter will pen a little ditty about the whole thing: Drone Strike On My Heart (10 minute version) (Peter's Version). He does have good hair though.
Tumblr media
Then we have the whole Night Monkey thing. We want to say we were really enjoying ourselves, but neither of us really wrote much at this point. Becks doesn't want to go to go to the Opera, and Cass wants to know your favourite fairground ride. Hers is the Flying Swings and Becks enjoys the teacups, but wouldn't say no to a go on the helta skelta. We would also both have a lovely time on a ferris wheel.
Peter than fucks up and Quentin explains the premise of the film, and his origin and just what the hell is going on in general, but he does it well. Very dramatic. He even prefaces it with an evil laugh, so we were fully on board. There was quite a bit of people indulging in exposition in this film. I don't think we hated it, but it was quite an obvious and reoccurring feature.
Tumblr media
Quentin also, sort of, shows he might be as unstable as Tony accused him of being. 'BUT IS THAT A BAD THING?' Becks protests, as she's highlighted his strong Virgo energy that she's very on board with. Cass tries to disagree but is unfortunately busy going a bit wibbly at him saying 'Yeah, hi Honey' to a pair of AI glasses. We are fine.
We're leaving Prague now, because of witches. Peter to Berlin, and the rest of the class to London.
We then have a very trippy sequence, where we once again ask for them to leave this poor child alone. We also get to see Quentin and the team really go to town on the dramatics. They gave Peter a chance to leave well enough alone. Just goes to show he was right to get so upset with that fella not being bother with leaving bits of evidence scattered about for any child to work out what was going on. It’s really a shame that Quentin's last line wasn't, and I would have got away with it too if it hadn't been for you meddling kids.
Tumblr media
We then have a brief jaunt in the Netherlands. Brief, but still enough time to really ruin that farmers tulip field.
We've just done something really stupid, but we can't tell you, but it was peak idiocy.
We enjoyed Peter having a little bit of support from those friendly Dutch fellas. And that Happy came to get him. And that they had the chance to be sad together. Then there's some actually science on the science trip, pity the rest of the classes didn't get any. Peter really embodied Tony here, and Happy feels that in his heart.
We’re going to take a very brief moment here to acknowledge that Peter (and Happy to some extent) have a lot of grief to work through over the loss of Tony. It is, of course, terribly sad, and throughout this film you constantly see evidence that the world is morning the passing of one of the OG Avengers. Seeing Tony’s face everywhere and being reminded of his death at every turn can’t be easy for Peter, and it is always sad to see. However, he is a brave, strong, resilient young man and he is doing his best with it, and really this is all we can ask for.
Tumblr media
Here we point out some more learning points for Thor: The Dark World, as they have managed to get the routes around London all correct this time. We appreciated that. Also, it all happened a stone's throw from where Cass works, so that was nice too. Mr Harrington yelling:
I'm doing my best Julius!
was very good. And we loved them taking cover in the Tower of London. You can tell we were just having a reet good time. Peter's little spidey shoot, MJ eyeing up the mace, Happy trying to throw that bin lid of shield like Cap, WE JUST LOVED IT.
It then got quite violent, and we once again witnessed a grown man trying to kill a bunch children. Quentin (or Jakey G as we keep referring to him as) got to say one of the most American lines we've ever heard, "Fire all the drones now!" and even in dying got to manipulate things in his own way. Remember to never use the word execute, it will come back to bite you.
Then Peter gets to have his little romance moment with MJ, it’s very cute, we support it in full, and we're just sad that Ned's Holiday Romance couldn't have lasted longer, but their amicable break up was just as adorable. AAAWWWW.
Tumblr media
We question what sort of a date flinging your new girlfriend round town for a short while, whilst she clings to you terrified, is. We assumed that was just getting them to the date but it turns out that just was the date and he was just gonna peace out on her, but the news got in the way.
BRING ME PICUTURES OF SPIDER-MAN!
Oh Jakey G, you really put the cat amongst the pigeons.
Tumblr media
10/10 for the credits, very good.
Talos not knowing what he's doing at his job - very relatable.
Is Nick drunk in space? What is he playing at? Why, Nick, WHY!?
And that’s it. Phase 3 complete. We've done it, they said we couldn't (no one said we couldn't) but we have. We've concluded our first part of the MCU rewatch, but there is more to come.
We're having a brief intermission before Phase 4. A small week or two's hiatus (we have some little personal projects that we really HAVE to get finished) but then we will return with...
The Shared Brain curates What If?...
We're very excited about this. We're imagining a tentative 5 film first season, but we fully foresee eventually watching every film these delightful actors have ever done, even the very poorly rated ones.
Thank you to everyone who has ever liked our reviews, and the even stranger of you that have reblogged them. Honestly, the little notifications of interaction that pop up warm our cold dead hearts.
We'll see you all very soon.
love Cass and Becks.
Back to You (Part One)
Based on this request: “X-Men one-shot. Pietro is getting a hot dog in the park. He sees a girl playing her acoustic guitar and singing Chris Isaak’s song Wicked Game. Heart eyes ensue.”
masterlist / part two
Tumblr media
On the day that he ruined his life, Peter Maximoff was walking through the park. He was there for something, but he couldn’t quite remember what. Not then, at least. She would tell him later. On that day, he was about to give up on figuring out just why he showed up there and go back to Xavier’s School, and then he saw her. There’s a girl sitting on a bench near him, playing some song on an acoustic guitar. It’s a familiar sight- feels like there are always performers in the area, but something about her makes Peter’s steps stray by her. Maybe it’s just because she’s really, really pretty, or it’s because she sounds so sad, and she’s looking directly at him.
If Peter didn’t know better, he’d say that she was singing directly to him, and that’s why she looks as if someone’s gone and broken her heart in two. Somehow, Peter feels like leaving now would be doing her a crime, so he waits, walking mindless circles around the paths in the park. He watches this girl out of the corner of his eye, and listens, and waits.
The song itself is quiet, full of heartbreak, all about not wanting to fall in love and how it all falls apart in the end. Later, the girl tells him that the song is ‘Wicked Game’ by Chris Isaak. Peter’s not sure why he’s thinking about this, now, either- everything about this girl seems to mess up his comprehension of time and when everything happened with her. Maybe that’s because he was -is- so utterly infatuated with her that he wasn’t keeping track of much else, but maybe it’s also because she was already there to see it all through. She knew everything, but he wouldn’t learn that until later.
That’s not the right time to say that, either. Peter needs to get this right. Even if she can look further in time and switch up all of the events before they happen, even if Y/N L/N can see him decide to approach her before he even entered the park in the first place, Peter wouldn’t have known that then. All he knew was the girl before him, the girl who was now regarding him as if having to mourn the loss of a recently departed lover.
Peter walked over to her. It wasn’t much of a conscious choice, just the feeling that he ought to do something, and so he did it. To be honest, Peter’s not sure that much of what he did with Y/N was really his choice. If she said something would happen, it was best to go along with it. Bad things happen when you falter from the prophecies.
He’s stumbling again, falling through the cracks. Peter needs to get this right if he wants to remember, if he wants to keep with Y/N’s directions. That’s the only way he’ll be able to make it through to the very end, how he’s going to get back home to Xavier’s School and his friends and most importantly, Y/N.
Peter doesn’t know this girl is Y/N L/N, not yet. What he does know is that he really should introduce himself to the girl with the guitar, and that he honestly wants to get to know her, but his feet keep dragging to a stop before he can make up his mind and force himself over to talk to her. It’s as if even his body knows that this is a bad idea, like this is his legs’ last attempt to save himself before Peter makes an incredibly important mistake.
That being said, Peter likes to pride himself on making incredibly important mistakes. This is why he dislodges the last strange shard of doubt in his head and completes the walk over to the girl. He doesn’t notice the way she almost sighs with relief when she sees him approach her, like even though she seems to know him, she wasn’t sure that he would truly go ahead and greet her.
The girl smiles at him. Peter can’t help but smile back. “Hi,” he says, feeling odd for introducing himself when this girl is looking at him with such a knowing expression, “I’m Peter.” The girl nods sagely. “Peter Maximoff.” Peter frowns. “Do I know you?” The girl’s smile falters. “I know you. You will know me, if that clears things up.” Peter stares. “It doesn’t, not really. Not at all. Do I get to ask for your name or will I learn that later too?”
The girl shrugs. “Actually, I think the time when you learn my name is supposed to be right now, so you’re good.” The strangest thing is that Peter actually doesn’t think she’s kidding or trying to be funny. She seems dead serious as she says this. “I’m Y/N, Y/N L/N.” Peter nods. For some reason, this makes sense, although he cannot explain why. “You’re a good singer, Y/N.”
Y/N grins up at him. “I’m glad you think so. I didn’t sing that song for just anyone, you know.” Peter feels like he’s stumbled in the middle of one of his fastest runs, grasping for steady footing beneath him. “Do I know you, really? Have we met before?” Y/N sighs, drawing one of her knees up to her chin. The way she looks there, nestled into herself on this park bench, makes it seem as if she’s in need of comfort, as if she’s about to start on some journey that she knows will hurt her.
“We’re meeting now. That’s what we’re supposed to do, I think.” She looks up at him now, with such piercing clarity that Peter almost wants to take a step back. “It’s my mutation. Yours is speed, mine is trying to make sense of random flashes I see of the future.” Peter looks at her in awe. “You’re a mutant, too? You can see the future.” Suddenly, it all makes sense- that’s why she keeps talking about him like she already knows him- she’s seeing the future.
Y/N nods. “It’s hard to make sense of it sometimes. I don’t know what’s in the past or the future or what’s happening right now.” She glances up at him doubtfully, as if expecting him to sigh in confusion and walk away. Instead, Peter just tosses her a casual grin and sits down beside her on the park bench. “Well, Miss Prophecy, if you know the future, where do we go from here? We’re supposed to be friends, aren’t we?”
Y/N laughs. For a second, Peter wants to slow down time again just to hear the laugh in every one of its notes, like he can track its progress just by watching the very air shimmer into gold wherever her voice touched it. “Well, I know that we talk for a while. You’ll meet up with me again, at some point. I can’t see everything, you know, just brief glimpses. There’s nothing else here, though. I think I’ve covered everything for today.”
She stands up now, stretching and starting to put her guitar back into its awaiting case. “I don’t want to stray too much from what I see. It’s one thing to see one pathway of the future, and an entirely different issue when the future starts changing and I have to keep remembering what’s actually going to happen and what would have happened before.” Peter shakes his head. “Wow. I got confused just from hearing that, I don’t know how you deal with it.”
Y/N smiles for a second, although it’s tinged with something bittersweet. “Well, in the future I have you to help me.” Peter nods, fighting the absurd desire to break out into a little dance of joy or happiness or something equally heartsick. Then another question occurs to him. “Wait- you said that song was for me, but it sounded sad, about wicked games and all that. What did I do that would make you think of that for me and not something, well, a little happier?”
Y/N’s smile runs away from her face as surely as a river down from the tallest of slopes. All of a sudden, she doesn’t look excited about the future but almost terrified, as if she dreads what must come at the end of everything. “We say goodbye. It’s not as I would want it to happen.” She shoulders her guitar case now, starting to walk briskly away. Peter’s not used to anyone being able to outpace him or leave him in the dust. Maybe it happens today because he doesn’t try to go after her, stuck behind in the wake of her desolate expression.
Peter finds Y/N in the same park the next day. She’s sitting on the exact same park bench, and when she visibly brightens to see him approach, Peter wonders if she’d been waiting for him to arrive. Maybe she saw him show up in the future. They end up spending an hour or two talking, doing nothing else except simply enjoying each other’s company. At the end, when they have to say goodbye again, Peter swears that Y/N looks even more upset than the day before. Maybe their final parting is drawing nearer than she would like.
They meet up a few more times, each time the same- happy memories until the last goodbye. At last, on the final day that they find each other in the park, Y/N only allows herself about five or so minutes of pleasantries before she looks at Peter one more time in abject despair and throws her face down into her hands. “I can’t do this.” These words aren’t directed at anyone, but Peter feels the need to address them all the same.
“Can’t do what? Y/N, what’s wrong?” When Y/N looks up at him again, her face is twisted as she tries to maintain control over herself. “It’s what has to happen, Peter, but I didn’t realize it would be so hard. I didn’t think you’d make it so difficult to lose you.” Peter stares at her, hand hovering over her back before he pulls her closer to him. “What do you mean? I’m not going anywhere, Y/N. Nothing can make me leave.” Even as he says this, Peter knows it’s not true. There’s nothing he can do against time, after all, and Y/N’s likely seen this through many times to know that.
She sighs, leaning against him. “By the end of today, my aunt is going to come visit you. She’s going to take you somewhere far away, and when it’s all over, you’re not going to remember who you are, not at all. All you’ll know is who she wants you to be.” Peter doesn’t understand. None of this makes sense. “What do you mean? Who is your aunt?” Y/N glances over at him again. This time, Peter is starting to realize that the fear in her eyes from before may not have been towards a vague happening in the past. It may take the physical form of her aunt, the one who is coming to take him away.
“She’s a witch. Her name is Agatha Harkness. She sent me here to make sure you would work for the plan, and then she’ll send you far from here, far from me.” Peter shakes his head. “Even if she tries to put me somewhere else, it won’t work. Yeah, I can run fast, but I can also run far. I’ll make my way back to you.” Y/N looks at him despondently. “You can’t run to me if you’re in another dimension, Peter. She’ll transport you there, and then I won’t be able to get you back. You’ll be put in place as the fake twin sister of this woman, Wanda, and you’ll live in her little sitcom paradise in a town called Westview. Even if she realizes you’re not real, Agatha has a backup story for you. You’re supposed to be some guy named Ralph. There’s no way you’ll be able to get out.”
Y/N drops her face into her hands again. Peter isn’t willing to let her go so easily, though. Witches be damned, he isn’t about to leave her for something like this. So, he sits forward, drawing Y/N close to him once more. “Then tell me how to fix it. You can see glimpses of the future, right? What do I have to do to break free of Agatha’s spell? Everyone has their loopholes. I’ll find hers.” Y/N nods once, then her gaze turns hazy. This must be what it takes to use her mutation.
She’s back in a few moments, face set in determination. “She’ll use a memory spell on you to keep you in her trance. All you have to do is remember who you are, and in the end, when it all breaks down, you’ll have to go to Wanda. She’ll be powerful enough by then, so if you ask her to send you back to your home dimension, she just might do it.” Peter nods, then frowns. “What do you mean, when it all breaks down? What’s going to happen?”
Y/N gives him a grim smile. “Agatha can’t hold Wanda forever. She wants to, but she can’t. Wanda will find a way to best my aunt, and then she’ll leave Westview. You have to find Wanda before that happens so she can get you out. Until then, you have to remember.” Peter nods, ready. “I can do that. I don’t intend on forgetting someone like you, Y/N.” Y/N laughs, although the sound is bitter. “I’m not sure that you have much of a choice about that. Agatha is a deeply skilled witch, Peter. I think this might be too much, even for you.”
Peter shakes his head. “I’ll find a way. She can’t hold me forever. I’m staying with you.” Y/N sighs. “And how will you do that? How can you fight back against her memory spell?” Peter gives her a lopsided half smile. “By having something good enough to remember.” With that, he leans forward and kisses her. He can feel Y/N stiffen in surprise for a second, and then she’s kissing him back. Yes, this will be hard. It might be one of the hardest things that Peter has ever done. But he isn’t willing to give up on Y/N so easily. She’s his future, his goal. If Y/N can see anything, she can see that Peter will come back to her.
meeting the fam
where y/n meets the peters second family (the avengers)
pairing: peter x fem!reader
status: just started dating
its been 3 weeks since peter and y/n started dating, they've been friends since august and after 5 months of knowing eachother, he FINALLY asked her out in new years, which couldn't be any perfect than what y/n imagined.
Peters been talking to Mr Stark about y/n the minute he had the chance to, one day Sam heard Peter not so subtly talk about his new girlfriend to his mentor.
"oh Mr Stark, she told me that she NEVER watched Star Wars because she never had somebody to watch it with, she said she knew she'd like it but she needed someone to fangirl with" Peter explains with his hands in the air while tony is fixing a device.
"and my stupid ass said I can fangirl with you, coz I'm like a Star Wars geek, and after I blurted that out, I thought she'd ditch me for good, but she didn't, YOU KNOW WHAT SHE SAID? she said she likes a man who's not afraid to say what he likes! I knew then that we would be somethin-"
"yOu lIkE a gIRl?" Sam blurts out cutting peter off.
and suddenly Thor comes behind Sam "since uh *puts a finger up* when?" *A/N: see what i did there ;)* peter looked at Thor confusedly.
"no guys, they're dating keep up" Tony says not looking away from his work
"ThEyrE DaTiNG??" they both scream, eyes wide, and mouths parted slightly.
"is it that hard to believe I have a girlfriend?" peter asks suddenly offended
"who has a girlfriend?" Steve finally entered. Sam and Thor wanted to explain the what they call 'miracle' but before they could say anything:
"peter, you old Capsicle" Bucky out of nowhere buts in.
"how'd you know?" Sam asks
"lets say the walls between the lab and mini kitchen is verrrry thin" Bucky replies stretching the 'really', peter looked at the floor blushing madly, walking slowly about to leave the lab
"now where do you think you're going, tell me more about your little Juliet, Romeo"
Peters POV
so last Saturday I was LITERALLY being harassed with questions regarding me having a girlfriend, and to shut them up about it I had to introduce them to her, which is a bit nerve-racking, but hopefully y/n agrees.
I was in the elevator trying to figure out a way to tell y/n about the news. The elevator dinged and I kept whispering different sentence trying to find the right one to use.
I took the keys out of my pocket which makes a loud jigly sound since the floor is empty and makes every noise echo, but before  Iunlock the door, it swings open revealing a very happy y/n jumping at me crossing her legs around my torso and smothering me with light kisses all over my face and neck which makes me laugh.
"well hello to you too" i laugh, kissing her nose and she laughs.
"we can use words later, now i want AFFECTIONNNN and CUDDLESSS" she screams running to my room.
"use words later huh?" I smirk putting my keys and wallet on my desk.
"not like thaatttt, what happened to the innocent shy peter?" she says slapping my arm.
"he became more comfortable with his girlfriend?" he replies shrugging his shoulders, which made y/n/n smile, knowing I'm more comfortable with her now then before.
after taking my jacket off, she immediately grabs me and pulls us to my bed. I snuggle to her side wrapping my arms around her lower stomach while she plays with my hair and kisses me once in a while.
"happy?" I mumble since my face is close to the fabric of her, well my hoodie.
"very" she mumbles in my hair
y/n's POV
I lowered myself so I can cuddle peter more, I swung my right leg over his torso and snuggled my head to his chest more, so now he would prep me with kisses all over my face or whisper things to my ear, after a few minutes of silence peters calls my name
"yeah?" I reply looking up to see him clearly, his lightly freckled face, and brown doe eyes shining from the little light coming from his lamp, he looked...nervous? I tilted my head confused to why he would be nervous right now
"babe what's wrong?" I ask, both of us sitting now
"uhh" he would still blush and stutter when I give him a pet names, I giggled softly which made him focus again.
"I was talking to Mr Stark the other day..about..you and I didnt know Sam heard me, but he did then basically the whole compound knew I had a girlfriend, I-I tried to make them stop bombarding me with questions about us buttheywouldonlystopifiintroducedyoutothemsonowtheyexpecttoseeyoutomorrow" he blurts out nervously, he obviously looked scared of what I would say but then he continued "AND I know we've only dated for 3 weeks now and its too soon but I couldn't stop them-"
"PETER! its ok I'd love to meet your second family" I say smirking in the end and he blushed. I was obviously nervous, its the AVENGERS for Thors sake, but he was too nervous I didn't want to cause more pressure for him.
"o-ok! so you're ok with meeting them tomorrow?" he makes sure.
"yess, definitely" I say smiling, he looked at me happily and lunged at me kissing all over my face.
"you *kiss* are *kiss* the *kiss* best" he says looking at me adoringly, and then we carried on cuddling which lead to me sleeping at his place.
🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸
I woke up to peter humming a song while touching my hair ever so lightly, I opened my eyes and saw probably the most handsome morning face I've ever seen.
"good morning" peter says with his raspy morning voice, he hates his morning voice he says its 'too manly' but I think its pretty hot.
"morningggg" I reply with a cheery tone, I wiggled out of his grasp which only made him hug me tighter, "pete, I need to stretch my limbs are stiff from the same position all night!" I giggle, then he finally released me from his comforting embrace.
suddenly peter had a sugar-rush-like energy and lunged out of the bed, did a couple of stretches in a funny way and went to greet his stunning aunt with a kiss on her head, before I went to greet aunt may I changed to something lighter than his hoodie, HIS SHIRT!
After changing, I went to the kitchen, greeted aunt may, and hugged peter from behind "you lookin sexy today" I whispered to hiM trying to make him blush, which worked!
"y/nnn" he whisper shouted, and hid his face.
"now would any of you like to explain why my nephew is very happy today? or is it just because his girlfriend spent the night?" may smirks. oh she definitely knows how to make peter blush.
"oh *laughs* I'm meeting the avengers today!" I say jumping slightly, may was freaking out with me and we started actually jumping up and down, while peter stared at us laughing
"well c'mon we're eating breakfast there!"
🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸
while we were walking to the compound peter sensed my nerves and held my hand reassuringly, I gave him the 'thank you' look and he smiled in return.
once we entered the compound, the cool air brushed my face lightly, there were little squeaks coming out from our sneakers while we're walking, but then peter stopped and looked at me smirking.
"F.R.I.D.A.Y?" peter asks softly.
"yes Mr parker?" the A.I replies and I was completely blown away.
"where's Mr Stark and the others?"
"Mr Stark is in his lab and the rest are in the main living room"
"ok thanks F.R.I.D.A.Y...OH and meet my girlfriend y/n" he says
"well hello there Mrs Parker" F.R.I.D.A.Y says, I looked at peter confusedly and he had the same expression and cheeks turned crimson red.
"uh hey F.R.I.D.A.Y" I say waving awkwardly to no one.
"uhm F.R.I.D.A.Y? who programmed you to call y/n  M-Mrs Parke-er ??" peter asks clearly embarrassed.
"mister stark did, along with Natasha and Sam" she replies.
"god I'm gonna kill the-"
"Pete its ok" I laugh, rubbing his arms lightly.
once we entered the main living room everyone stopped what they're doing and looked at us
"h-hey guys..uh this is my girlfriend, y/n y/l/n" peter awkwardly introduces me, the room went dead silent, no one was talking they just stared right into my soul the suddenly after a few seconds everybody spoke loudly at the same time trying to introduce themselves first.
"oh my god hi hun! I'm Wanda"
"hello there lady y/n, I am Thor the god of thunder, its a pleasure to meet you"
"oh Don't go all princely on her, she's our cinnamon rolls girlfriend, I'm Nat by the way" she winks
"the name's Clint, also known as Hawkeye"
"James Buchnan Barnes, but you can call me Bucky, doll"
"Steve Rogers *shakes my hand* welcome to the family"
once everybody introduced themselves, peter kept searching around the room, looking for someone, everybody was trying to get to know me more, asking more intimidating questions, but I couldn't pay attention because he looked worried.
so I took his hand softly and rubbed my thumb over his knuckles trying to get his attention, once he looked at me I gave him the 'what's wrong' look.
"hey guys, do you know where Mr Stark is?" Peter finally spoke, bingo he wanted to introduce me to one of the most important people in his life, pressureee, hopefully I could live up to Tony's expectations and he would approve of me,
"he's in his lab" Bruce spoke, pointing at the third door in the hallway.
Once we got to the door, Peter looked at me reassuringly and kissed my head trying to ease my nerves, I gave him a nod telling him I'm ready and he opened the door.
"M-Mr Stark?" peter said, which grabbed Tony's attention, he looked at Peter then his eyes landed on me, he stared at me for a couple of seconds like he was analysing me, then a small smile formed on his lips, That's a good sign, right?
"y/n, its great to finally meet you" he says shaking my hand.
"hello Mr Stark" I say, not knowing what to call him yet so I just decided to be respectful and call him 'Mr Stark' like my boyfriend.
"oh please not you too, call me Tony" he says.
"Tony, love birds breakfast is ready! c'mon Thor's already eating half of the pancakes- wait THOR THOSE ARE FOR Y/N GODDAMNIT" Sam shouts, panicking which makes me laugh a little, tony looked at me, then at peter like he's telling him he approves, which gives me a sense of relief.
when we got to the LARGE dining room everyone was sat in their seats waiting for us three, "finally! the son got his approval from his father!" Sam joke in his awfully attempted baby voice.
"Our baby's all grown up" Wanda says giving him grabby hands to hug him, Peter was madly blushed from embarrassment but still gave Wanda her hug
"wait I want a hug!" Nat interrupts.
"me too!" Thor said, trying to embarrass peter more, which definitely worked. I couldn't help my self from grinning, I loved how the avengers, showed him this much affection.
"well, *stands up from his seat* I wanna hug y/n" tony says in a matter-of-a-fact tone, moving from his chair and hugs me, I obviously hugged back smiling.
"wait- I WANT TO HUG Y/N"
"ME TOO!"
"guys guys, *giggles* stop harassing my girlfriend with affection I think tha'ts MY job" Peter says giving me big hug, kissing my head, I hid my red face in the crook of his neck.
"thank you" I whisper softly
"for what ?" peter replies
"for trusting me to see the most important people in your life, Aunt may, Ned, MJ, and now the Avengers! thank you" I say kissing his neck.
"oh no its the PDA! please don't tell me you guys are THAT type of couple" Bucky says making fake gag noises, which is later interrupted by Steve
"what's PDA?" he asks genuinely curious, Peter face palms and shakes his head
"welcome to the family"
have a wonderful morning/afternoon/evening/night!
C O R U S C A N T
After the nightmares began, Anakin was rarely around, only making you more susceptible to the dark side. You truly did want to tell him about what had been keeping you up at night, but how were you going to contact him when he was never around and the connection the two of you shared was seemingly cut off? You weren’t able to feel his emotions nor feel his presence. It was as if he had blocked you off, almost like he was dead, but he wasn’t. You knew that he went on more campaigns as he was barely spending time in the temple, wanting to stay as far away from you. And if the two of you ever were in the same room by sheer luck, he pretended that you didn’t exist.
On days where both Anakin and Obi Wan were gone, you trained with a girl named Xin. In a way, she reminded you of the mandalorian Sabine: intelligent, strong, and creative. She was skilled with her lightsaber, but also greatly skilled in hand to hand combat, making her an excellent training partner. When all three of them were gone, you spent time learning binary after shortly being gifted a droid. R2-KT, or Kaytee as you liked to call her, accompanied you on your walks around the Jedi temple, often telling you random facts about it or Coruscant.
As time passed, you noticed how the council became weary of your presence. After noticing the color of your saber, which wasn’t hard to miss, the Jedi Masters seemed to focus their attention on you whenever you were in the room with them. You would have liked to believe that you had begun to earn their trust, but you understood their cautiousness towards you. Hell, you would’ve probably reacted the same way if someone came to Earth using a big stone hidden in the middle of nowhere claiming that the fate of the universe rested in their hands.
The halls of the temple were empty- excluding the sentinels- as you roamed around with Kaytee at your side. It was still so surreal being in the Jedi temple. Six months ago you were on Earth, spending time with your family. It seemed so long ago since you were first introduced to Star Wars.
You were foreign to the concept of bonding, spending time with your peers. After spending almost 17 years in foster care, you learned to not attach yourself. To become cold, detached, and observant of your surroundings. With your arrival to the tower, it became a shock to you when you found out that the team spent time together willingly. Some nights they played games like Uno and Cards Against Humanity. You would always sit in the corner and watch them, not comfortable enough to be engaging with them in such a way like that. On the nights where they watched movies, you would always sit in the furthest seat away from the group. It stayed like that until Peter started coming to the bonding nights.
Due to the fact that he was still young, he stayed with his Aunt May. Only coming to the tower to help Tony with his projects. So it was a surprise to see him there, but you couldn’t help feel more comfortable knowing that someone else your age was there.
“So, what’re we watching tonight?” He asked. The team let out a couple of groans, unsure of what they were getting into. “How about we watch Star Wars? I bet you those two grandpas haven’t seen it yet.”
“Hey! Watch it, Peter.” Steve said, putting his hand over his heart to feign hurt. All it took for him to apologize was one glance at Bucky. “Sorry Mister Winter- uhh James- Bucky-- no. Sir Barnes. And Steve.”
He goes to sit down, but before he does, he takes a survey of the room. He notices you sitting alone on the couch, “Hey, why don’t you come sit closer?” He asked. You shake your head, telling him that you were alright where you were. “What about you? Have you seen Star Wars?” You quickly shake your head, you see Peter’s eyes widen and he takes off to sit in the empty spot next to you.
“OMG. WHAT? How have you never seen the movies?”
“Not everyone has the privilege to have a normal childhood. I just so happened to be one of those kids.” You informed him.
“Right, sorry.” He apologized, his hand awkwardly scratching the back of his neck. “I’m sure you’ll love the movies though.”
Peter was right. After watching A New Hope, the team had retired to their respective rooms, but the two of you had stayed up all night finishing the movies. After watching all three trilogies, you had a new found obsession, especially for a certain Skywalker. Even though some people thought that Anakin was a bad character, and sure the script was really bad, you really did love him. So when he betrayed Obi Wan to save Padme, your heart couldn’t help but break. Poor man was so whipped for the pussy :( I guess you could call it to die for.
Although your time on Coruscant was limited, you did your best to enjoy it. The six months you had spent here so far had been a gift. The environment was truly mesmerizing, and you wanted to share it with Peter. You tried not to call him often, the time difference was just slightly confusing. While six months might’ve passed for you, it had only been a month for your family back home.
You were broken out of your reverie by the buzzing of your holocom, requesting your presence in the council room. Making your way into the room, you told Kaytee to wait by the doors. You stood in the middle of the room with your hands clasped behind your back, waiting for them to address you.
“Nice to see you it is.” Master yoda said. “A task for you, we have.”
A task? What could they possibly want you to do? There was no way they’d be sending you on a mission, they never did.
“We want you to travel to Onderon. They are celebrating their liberation from the separatists. I don’t know why but Anakin and Obi Wan would like for you to be present-” Before Mace can finish his sentence he is cut off.
“I believe what Master Windu is trying to say is that they would both like for you to experience what our galaxy has to offer.” Shaak Ti answered for him. “There will be other Jedi there too, but you will be traveling on your own.” She said. “Oh, and please keep in mind, this celebration is also being held in remembrance for Steela, their fallen leader.”
“Understood, may I leave now?” Master Yoda gave you a nod, allowing you to leave. You made your way to the hangar, Kaytee following close behind you. Well, it looks like it was time to see Anakin again.
-
O N D E R O N
Your journey to Onderon is short, but you take the time to fiddle with Kaytee. Cleaning her up to make her look presentable. Weeks after you were gifted the droid, you took the time to fix her up and reprogram her to your liking. With the touch of a button, you could make her record a hologram, send her your location, or gouge out someone's eye if needed. You truly did love your droid, and you thanked the stars that Stark taught you how to code, program, and build trinkets of your own.
Kaytee lands the ship with a heavy thud, “I know you're excited to see Artoo, but we need to be careful with this ship. It’s not ours.” You told her, and in return you get a series of apologetic beeps. The door opens with a hiss, you signal for Kaytee to follow you. Stepping off, you notice all of the other ships outside of Iziz. It was like all the entirety of the galactic senate was here, which you really didn’t doubt. You felt out of place in your Jedi robes. People were arriving in magnificent, mind blowing outfits. Gowns with tails that trailed far behind them and tuxes with flowy capes. This ball was going to have it all.
The bustle of the market only intensified with the oncomers. You had to make your way to the temple before you got distracted. By the time you reached the temple doors, the crowd lessened, or so you thought. Entering the temple, you were greeted at the sight of hundreds of people. You felt blood rush to your cheeks as people began to turn and stare at you. Screw the Jedi Council for not giving me a nice outfit to change into. Just as you were about to turn around and wander through the market, you heard your voice being called out. You tried to find where the sound was coming from, only to get confused and jolt your head around violently as if you were a loth cat.
“Alyra! Over here!.” Your feet began moving on their own accord. As if you were being drawn to a presence. You come to a screeching halt in front of.. Anakin, of course it's him. Why am I not surprised that the force has literally brought me to him? Along with Obi Wan, R2, and Padme. Oh my god, wait, it’s Padme. I could kiss her right now if I wanted to. But I won’t. That would be weird, won’t it. Kissing her in front of her husband, who is my-
“Alyra, are you alright?” Obi Wan asks, breaking you out of your internal ramble.
“Yeah, I was just...trying to take all of this in. I’ve never seen anything like this.” You responded, pretending to look around the temple.
“It seems like you space out a lot.” He jokes, a smile on his face before he realizes no one else is laughing. He rolls his eyes before continuing, “Anyways, welcome to Onderon. This is my good friend, Senator Padmé Amidala of Naboo.” He turns to face her while he introduces you to her. You hold out a hand, expecting for her to shake it. Instead she walks up to you and takes you within her hold. She hugs you tightly, you can feel her protruding belly.
“It’s so nice to finally meet you! Anakin has talked a lot about you.” Both you and Obi Wan furrow your brows at the mention of Anakin speaking of you. Padme is quick to notice this and corrects herself, “I mean of what he’s mentioned to me about you today. Right, Ani?” She validates.
“Yeah, only good things though.” He testified, avoiding your gaze. It was weird that he was mentioning you to his pregnant wife, what was there to talk about? Not to mention the fact that he had been avoiding your presence for months now.
You squinted your eyes at him, “I could only hope so, seeing as though we haven’t spoken in awhile.” you accused. What in the world is he up to now?
You can practically see the gears turning in his head as he tries to come up with a comeback, before he can utter a word, he’s interrupted by Padme.
“C’mon, let’s go to your room and get you changed.” Once again, you furrow your brows.
“Changed, what do you mean changed?” You ask her.
“What, did you think I’d just let you roam around the ball in those ugly Jedi robes? Come, I’ll let you borrow one of my dresses.” She drags you away by the arm, Anakin and Obi Wan shouting at her. Something about Jedi robes not being ugly, you couldn’t really hear with Padme’s giggles silencing them. Kaytee let’s out a giggle of her own as she follows you, Artoo’s personality rubbing off on her.
Padmé all but practically throws you onto your bed as she ushers one of her handmaidens, Teckla, to bring the dresses into your room. Teckla wheels in a rack filled with elegant looking dresses, along with a bunch of different heels. All looking like they could snap your ankle in half if you walked the wrong way. The first dress she hands you is body conforming up until it reaches your knees, from there it fans out creating a mermaid gown effect. While the dress itself was very beautiful, you thought of it to be too plain for an event like this. You and Padme both share a look before agreeing that this was in fact not the dress.
However, the next dress she hands you is a proper ball gown. You slip it on, taken aback by how heavy the dress was. She walks up behind you to tighten the corset of the gown. She does her best to tighten it up without hurting you, but you can’t help let out a wheeze as she gets closer to tying it off.
“Sorry, as much as I love this dress, I also hate it. I’m so glad I’m pregnant so I don’t have to feel it stabbing me at every given chance.” She said, breaking the silence.
“How many months are you?” You asked.
“I’m six months along now, almost seven.” She finishes tying up the corset before stepping aside. “What do you think?”
“Well, it certainly is fit for an event like this and I do think it’s beautiful. But it’s crushing me with every breath I take. I feel like if I sit down, I won’t be able to get back up.”
“Right, well I can fix that.” This time she takes her time picking out the next dress. She lets her fingers brush across the different fabrics, stopping at one that caught her eye. “Here, try this one!” She suggests. By the look on her face, you can already tell that this is the one. The dress is flowy and soft looking. You step into the dress, pleased to find yourself correct. It feels like you have nothing on. Padme helps you zip the dress up, along with clasping together the leather pieces. The light blue tulle layered over the dark blue, almost purple material complimented your skin tone. The dress had a deep v-neck, showing off your cleavage. Right below your collarbone laid a strap of leather, connecting to either side of your thick shoulder straps. From those straps, a thin piece of tulle was stitched on, giving you two separate mini capes for your arms. Aside from a strap of leather covering your spine, the dress is completely backless. It feels like you could go frolicking in this dress. Who am I kidding, Padme probably went frolicking in this dress with Anakin.
“So, what do you think?” Her tone is hushed, as if she was trying to figure out whether you hated or loved the dress.
“It’s beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.” You respond. “Kaytee, what do you reckon?” The droid let’s out a series of delights beeps, showing her contentment towards the dress.
“Great!” Padmé says before ushering you into a chair. “Now, we're going to do your hair and makeup. So sit still.” For once in your life, you shut up and sit still, allowing Padme to work her magic.
“Do you know the gender?” You asked, your question breaking the silence, and while the atmosphere wasn’t exactly awkward, it wasn’t comfortable either.
“Oh no, I’d rather not. It’s not like it matters to me anyways. As long as my child is happy and healthy, then so am I. But it’s ironic because I haven’t been to a check up yet.” Padme gently pulls your hair back, leaving two pieces in the front to frame your face. It was simple, not taking any attention away from the dress.
No check up? Maybe that’s why Padme didn’t know she was having twins. “So you haven’t seen a doctor or a medical droid yet?” Your eyes follow her as she pulls makeup out of her bag, her collection vast.
“No, not really. I don’t have very much time to myself due to the fact that I’m a part of the senate. But I do my best to make sure I stay healthy for my baby and me. I also just want it to be a surprise.” Padme finds a foundation shade similar to your skin tone and blends it in.
“What if you have twins? What will you do then?” You probably weren’t supposed to be asking her questions like these, but you couldn’t help it. Maybe you should’ve asked why she had so much makeup instead.
“Well..” She sighed while blotting powder all over your face. “..I suppose if it happens, then it happens. It’s the will of the force.” She finishes powdering your face before moving to your eyebrows. Padme takes an angled brow brush and begins to fill them in, giving it a naturally fuller look.
“So, you believe in the force?”
“How could I not? I work so closely with the Jedi, I’ve seen what you guys have done. The father is very close friends with the Jedi.” Padme said, implying that the father was in fact a Jedi. It felt like you were intruding, but then again, you weren’t necessarily forcing her to tell you this. You had only met her moments ago and she already trusted you enough with her secrets.
“Really? I thought the Jedi weren’t allowed to form attachments?”
“Oh… we weren’t really together. It was sort of a one night thing. But he’s going to be in the child’s life.” She covered up.
The conversation went on like that for a while before Padme announced that she was finished with you. After finishing your makeup and adding some finishing touches to your hair, she finally stepped aside, letting you see yourself in the mirror.
The second you saw yourself, your mouth fell open in shock. You looked absolutely ethereal. Padme kept your makeup very natural to bring out your features. She also added small, white flowers into your hair. You excitedly thanked her and got up to hug her as a way to show your gratitude.
“Shall we get going now?” She offered
“Oh, if it was alright with you, I was going to stay behind. I have to contact somebody.” You asked
“Of course, I’ll see you later then.” She said before gathering all of her belongings and leaving with Teckla. As Padme arrives, Anakin notices that you weren’t with her.
“Where’s Alyra?” He asked her, eager to see what she would look like out of her Jedi robes.
“She said she had to talk to someone.”
Meanwhile, in your room you were getting ready to call Peter. Honestly, you had no idea if you had connection on Onderon, but you were about to find out. Taking off your necklace, you were pleased to see the green light, indicating that you were indeed connected to the bridge. You scroll through your contacts before finding Peter’s name. You hit the dial button and wait for it to connect.
E A R T H
Peter is sleeping when he gets a call, the bracelet on his left hand vibrating. He thinks nothing of it and almost declines the call. That is until he realizes it’s you calling on the bracelet he had designated just for you. He jumps up from his sleeping position and quickly answers your call. Peter can’t help but let out a gasp of awe the very second your face pops onto the hologram.
“What? Is there something on my face?” You move closer towards the camera and inspect your face, only to find no flaws.
“Nothing...it’s just been so long since I’ve seen you like this.”
“Like what?” Your eyebrows scrunch together, the confusion clear on your face.
“All… dolled up.” Peter’s response makes your face blush a hot red. You let out a shy laugh as your hand comes to rest at the back of your neck. He was right, it had been so long since you’ve felt this pretty. It felt good, for once you had felt good.
“Thanks, Pete. It feels good to be in something other than Jedi robes.”
“Not that I’m saying you can’t be dressed up like this, but exactly why are you so dressed up?” He pondered, he knew it wasn’t like the Jedi to go about their duties in exquisite gowns.
“I’m actually on Onderon.” You pan the camera towards the view outside of your window. “The Jedi have invited me to a celebration of Onderon’s liberation. But also in memory of Steela I believe. I really wish you were here with me. I still don’t understand why they couldn’t have sent both of us.”
“I miss you too, but you know I have a duty here on Earth.”
“Duty? So did I Peter!”
“You know I didn’t mean it like that. With me being Spiderman-”
“It’s not like they don’t have any other superheroes. I mean come on, admit it! You know more about Star Wars than I possibly could. You should be here with me.” You huff out before changing the subject, “Anyways, how are you? Did you end up fixing things with MJ?”
“I’m fine, but no, we didn’t. We both agreed that we’d be better off as friends. Besides I’ve already moved on.” He confessed, awkwardly scratching the back of his neck. It’s now or never Peter, you’ve gotta tell her.
“Oh, I’m sorry to hear about your split. But hopefully you and this new person will work out-”
“It’s you.” He says, abruptly cutting you off. Peter watches you tilt your head as your brows scrunch together again.
“Excuse me?”
“It’s you,” He repeats, taking a deep breath before speaking again, “It’s always been you. I didn’t realize it until you had left… I didn’t think I could miss someone so much.”
“Peter…. I don’t know what to say.” You uttered out,
“Please, say something- anything.” He begged, hoping he hadn’t just ruined years of friendship. Peter watches as you open and close your mouth, searching for the right words.
“...I can’t.” You say as you shake your head. “I can’t be with you, Peter.”
“Why? Is it because of my age? Come on, Y/N, I’m only two years younger than you.” He pleads
“It’s not that. You’re just not the right person for me, Peter. I know it in my very soul.”
“Oh yeah? And who is, Anakin?” He taunts, he can feel his eyes water as he watches you look away from him. “No freakin’ way. You’ve got to be kidding me.” Peter lets out a scoff.
“You’ve got to understand Pete, I love him. I really do.”
“NO! You don’t love him. You’re just obsessed with him. You think you can save him but you can’t! No one can! You can’t change his destiny.”
“What do you even know about love? You can’t tell me who I can and can’t love. It doesn’t work like that. You know nothing about it-”
“I LOVE YOU!” He screams, breaking the silence in his Queen’s apartment, surely waking up May. “Why isn’t that enough?” Peter watches as tears slowly stream down your face as he lets out a few of his own.
“I’ve got to see this out until the end, you know that Peter...I could only wish that it was enough, but it’s not. You’re like a brother to me, don’t do this to me. To our friendship...I’ve got to go now.”
“No, you don’t get to leave again-”
“I’m sorry, goodbye, Peter.” You end the call and Peter is left staring at the wall, mouth hung open in shock. He couldn’t believe this just happened to him. He faintly makes out the sound of Aunt May knocking on his door.
Without waiting for a response, she cracks open his door. She takes notice of the tears falling off of his face and closes her mouth. Aunt May is silent as she makes her way across his room, holding her arms out for him. Peter gratuitously accepts her embrace, his sobs muffled by her clothes.
No words are spoken as Peter cries his heart out, never in a million years did he think you’d be the one to break him.
Almost lost him
Pairing: James ‘Rhodey’ Rhodes x Stark!reader
Synopsis: Tony’s little sister had always had feelings for one James R. Rhodes. She’s kept it a secret for years, but will everything come out after he is injured during the fight against Cap?
word count: 2.4k+
Warnings: Brief cannon violence. Angst. Mentions paralysis. Swearing. Age gap. Also I have a specific age for the character mentioned.
A/N: This has been sitting in my WIP’s for over a year because I loved it so much and I didn’t want to end it poorly lmao. I know no ones gonna read it since he isn’t a popular character, but oh well. I love this fic and I love Rhodey so that’s all that matters.
Tumblr media
Tony and (Y/N) Stark have saved the world from terrorists once again.
“Can you believe this title?” you laugh showing Rhodey the article on your phone.
“I was there too,” he says gruffly.
“You just aren’t special enough,” you tease, sticking your tongue out like you’re five and not thirty-six.
“Not everyone’s lucky enough to be a Stark,” Tony, your annoying but lovable older brother, enters the compound’s kitchen.
Tony took you under his wing and raised you since your parents died. It was a lot for a twenty-one year old to handle, no one he knew had to take care of an eleven year old. Especially one with newly discovered powers. They weren’t much, but when emotions would get overwhelming you would have white colored beams come from your hands. This later helped Tony come up with the idea for the repulsors on his Iron Man suit, which you helped him build.
As the years passed, you got a better hold on your new found powers. The more you and Tony dug into your parents past, you started to think that your dad had either given you something when you were a baby or your mom was given something while pregnant to make you like this. Your Dad always called you special, but you never thought you were this special.
“Any progress with Steve?” you ask hopefully. You know how much Tony values his friendship with Cap, he just won’t admit it. Especially because he’s hurt.
“No,” he grunts, but tries to brush it off like he doesn’t care. You and Rhodey give each other unamused looks, clearly not believing the bullshit Tony is trying to feed you.
“I think you should try to reach out to him again, you clearly miss him Tony,” you frown at the dark haired man in front of you.
“I agree with (Y/N/N),” Rhodey speaks up from behind you. He’s closer than you remember, and you shiver as you feel the little licks of his breath on your neck as he speaks.
“You love birds can shut up now,” Tony rolls his eyes, he leaves the kitchen without anything.
Heat immediately rushes to your face and you can’t look Rhodey in the eye as you stutter out an apology for Tony’s actions. You quickly leave the kitchen before he can respond, wanting to put distance between your blushing self and the man you had been in love with for years.
--
You had hoped that the conversation in the kitchen would have convinced Tony to reach out and make amends with Steve and half of the Avengers. But things only continued to escalate, where it seemed a battle between friends was unavoidable. So that's how you ended up in Germany, with your newest recruit Spider-Man, facing off against the people you cared most about in this world.
“Rhodey!” you scream as you watch him plummet to the Earth. Time seems to slow to a near standstill and all you can do is watch, too far away from him to be able to help somehow. Your knees buckle and you hit the ground at the same time his body does. There's a scream that’s so loud it rattles the windows of the airport hanger, a scream you weren’t even aware left your own lips.
Vision tries to approach you, but you let out a sound that's between a sob and a scream as he gets closer. You’re angry, and scared, you can feel a rush of something in your veins. You ball your hands in fists, bringing them to your chest as you curl into yourself.
The sound of metal crunching together pulls you from your rocking back and forth on your knees. You see a white glow, one that you're extremely familiar with, dissipating from around two shipping containers, now crushed together where vision was hovering. If he had stayed solid, he would have been crushed. You’re shaking even more as you stare down at your hands, you had never been able to move objects before. You could have hurt somebody. You can’t dwell on it too long because Peter runs to your side, telling you that Rhodey had a heartbeat and help was on the way.
It had felt like hours since Tony, Peter, and you had landed back down in the states. Dr. Cho was working with a spine specialist and a neurosurgeon to figure out the extent of the damage. After a while, they had updated you three, telling you that Rhodey broke his spine and they were taking him into surgery. Tony had left to go fiddle with one of his suits, his coping mechanism. He left the kid with you because he didn’t want you alone.
“How did you two meet?” Peter breaks the silence.
“Hmm?” you look away from the painting in front of you for the first time since you sat in the waiting room chair, to look at the boy.
“Mr. Rhodes, how did you two meet?” he clarifies.
“That’s a long story,” your eyes glaze over as memories start to come flooding back.
“I have time,” Peter gives you a small smile, you can really see what Tony see’s in the kid. The kindness that his Aunt May has taught him is abundantly clear, you know he’s only asking for your benefit.
“He met Tony when they went to MIT together, he somehow found a way to put up with my brother's antics. I didn’t meet him until two years after Tony graduated, so I was eleven,” you let out a little laugh as you realize just how long the older man has been in your life, and in your heart. “He came to my parents funeral for support for Tony, but he became my support system. Everyone seemed to ignore me and go straight for the golden boy, but Tony became too overwhelmed quickly. He introduced me to Rhodey who was the first one, besides Tony of course, to ask me how I was. He ended up spending the entire wake and funeral with me, giving me support and effectively distracting me from my pain.”
You look over at the younger boy, who seems to be staring at you with fascination. He sees the pain on your face when you stop talking, reaching over he grabs your hand loosely. Testing the waters to see if you’ll pull away from affection like Tony has with him. You give him a thankful smile and hold his hand before continuing your story.
“He joined the military not long after that. At first I would send him care packages and letters so he didn’t feel alone when he was deployed. One day when I was writing a letter one of Tony’s flings came into the kitchen and called me a pathetic child because I was crushing on Tony’s friend after I explained what I was doing. He never got that letter, or any after that. We didn’t really talk much after that, if he came to visit Tony I’d be pleasant before locking myself in my room. I guess I was embarrassed over my school girl crush. Years passed, lots of years, before Tony went missing, James was the one that told me what happened. And in those following months he would rarely leave my side, he wanted to make sure I was okay. We were finally both adults, and we gained a real friendship.”
“That sounds like more than a friendship,” Peter sends you an innocent look. You furrow your eyebrows at him in response, Rhodey definitely doesn’t like you back. “I’m just saying, if Liz was like that with me I would be ecstatic that she liked me back.”
“He sees me as a little sister, Peter,” your heart breaking a little more knowing that you’ll never be able to be with the man you’ve loved for years. Before Peter can refute you, Rhodey’s Neurosurgeon walks into the waiting room- some guy named Dr. Strange.
“How is he?” you jump out of your seat, Peter quickly following suit, his hand falling from yours at the movement.
“He’s out of surgery Miss. Stark,” his voice coming out as cocky and full of himself, like he’s overly proud that he did this surgery. “But the recovery will be the difficult part.”
“What happened? What’s still wrong? And when can I see him?” you’re shooting out questions faster than the surgeon can answer.
“I’m not at liberty to discuss that with you Miss. Stark, and you can’t see him until he’s out of the ICU,” the smug look is still on the surgeon's face, making you grow angrier with each word that leaves his mouth.
“Excuse me?” Peter looks between you and the surgeon with wide curious eyes.
“You aren’t family,” he states matter-of-factly. “Therefore I can’t tell you and you can’t see him.”
Your eye twitches in anger as your body starts to warm, your powers start to react to the strong emotion. You take a deep calming breath, keeping you from accidentally lashing out at the surgeon.
“I suggest you rethink that answer,” you say deathly calm, Peter stares at you in awe as you talk back to the man. “And consider who paid for all of the new state-of-the-art Stark technology and equipment you have in this hospital. Things I’m sure that you used in that surgery, that I donated to this hospital through the outreach program that I created. Technology created by both me and my brother.”
“Is there a problem here?” a man’s voice comes from behind you, he sounds irritated that someone’s making a scene. You turn around to face the man, who is wearing a badge that says medical director on it. Perfect. His eyes widen as soon as he recognizes who you are.
“Actually there is,” you frown. “My colleague, my friend. My favorite person after my brother really, he just had a pretty big surgery, but your surgeon here won’t tell me any details or let me go see him. So yes, we have a huge problem.”
“I’m so sorry Miss. Stark,” he exclaims. “Why don’t we go update you in private.”
“Did I sound like a bitch?” you frown, whispering to Peter as the two of you follow the MD and the surgeon. He nods a little with a smirk adorning his face.
“But it was awesome!” you grin at the young boy, remembering the excitement you felt when you saw Tony use his name to get what he wanted for the first time.
“He’s paralyzed,” the surgeon throws the statement around like it isn’t a big deal as soon as the four of you enter a separate room. “From the waist down. There was nothing we could do.”
Your heart and your lungs seem to stop working at the same time. Peter discreetly uses his super strength to catch you as your legs give out at the surgeon's words. Tears start to pour down your face as you realize all of the things Rhodey will never be able to again. Like never being able to help defend his country again, or chase after you when you steal the last cookie that he wanted.
You can’t help but feel guilty. If he had never met you and Tony he would be fine. He would still be able to do what he loves. He never would have been put in that situation. He’ll never be able to walk again. He won’t have the opportunity to dance at his wedding or chase his children around if he decided to have either of those.
“I know it’s a lot Miss. Stark,” the MD’s voice is muffled. “But there was nothing we could have done-”
“When can I see him?” you cut the doctor off.
“I could take you to him now,” he glares at the surgeon. “He won’t wake for at least a few more hours.”
“Peter, go call Tony and tell him the update,” you look at the young boy, he gives your hand a reassuring squeeze before heading back to the waiting room.
The surgeon and the MD both ramble on about Rhodey’s condition but their voices sound muffled- like you’re underwater. You feel like you're suffocating in all the pain and grief you feel for the love of your life. He’s lying on the bed, oxygen tubing up his nose, at least ten wires connected to him, and the disgusting beep of his heart monitor reminds you how lucky you are that he’s still here with you.
The two men quickly leave you with Rhodey, but not before the MD promises that he’ll be under constant supervision and he’ll receive the best treatments they offer. Not that you're shocked to hear that with the scene you cause in the waiting room. You grab Rhodey’s hand, careful to avoid yanking the IV in it, pulling his hand up to your mouth to give it a feather light kiss. Tears slip down your cheeks as you stare at his still body, you were so close to losing him today.
The tears have stopped by the time Tony shows up close to an hour later, he had dropped Peter off at home before coming up to the hospital room. Your older brother looks as distressed as you feel, although he seems to be tryin to hide it more than you are.
“How is he?” his voice is quieter than you imagined, like he’s afraid any louder will make you crumble.
“Stable,” your voice is monotonous, and you refuse to tear your eye’s from Rhodey’s face as you respond to Tony. “About as good as he could be I guess.”
“How are you?” he cuts you off as you go to respond that you're fine. “And don’t bullshit me (Y/N/N), you’ve been in love with him since you were eleven. How are you feeling?”
You don’t respond, not with words at least. Instead you do crumble, letting out a quiet sob as you grip Tony’s hand that he was about to place on your shoulder. Tony runs his free hand through your hair and down your back, trying to soothe you like he used to when you would have nightmares after your parents deaths.
“We almost lost him today Tony, I almost lost him-” another sob racks through your body. “And now he’s paralyzed. He can never walk again, can never defend his Country again. And for what? A disagreement between you and Steve? We could have lost him Tony for something so fucking stupid.”
Before Tony can respond, a muffled voice breaks through the tension in the room. The voice is gravely, but one you love so dearly, it’s Rhodey’s. “(Y/N)?”
Ch.9
"Well this is nice…" You say as Natasha drags you along. You see currently you and Natasha are quote on quote shaking a tail. Whatever that means… "Shut up and keep moving." You stop moving and pull your arm away. "Stop Nat we've gone far enough. It was probably just a coincidence we didn't really get that far from the food truck." Finally taking the time to catch your breath. "I think we should get back to the compound. Tony and Bruce must be waiting for me." You say looking around for a cab lucky for you one stopped right before you and you got in.
The ride back to the Compound was quiet. When she's about to make her way in, you stop her. "Nat… I know that didn't go the way either of us wanted it to go but I still had fun. And again what I'm trying to say is that I would like to do things your way, candlelit, waiters, and wine. If you want to of course." You fidget with your fingers waiting for her response. "Y/n I would love to… but I like the way you do things. You're not the Wine and Dine type... I like that." She mentions as she walks back in. You quickly follow suit after she makes a comment about your blatant staring.
Once you stop on the elevator FRIDAY greets you. Telling you that Tony and Bruce are waiting for you in the lab. "Well Nat this is goodbye for now, see you around." You say stepping off of the elevator. Suddenly this weight comes crashing down on you. Remembering what Bruce told you the worry in his eyes. Dread fills your body when you're walking towards the lab. "Guys I'm back… anything good for me?" You state casually trying your hardest not to sound hopeful. "Well yes and no…" Tony states putting the tablet down. "I'm going to be honest with you… your heart is trashed, absolute garbage."
"Way to make a girl feel special." You say with a dry laugh. "But I think we can build something. And with my arc reactor technology we can make it work." He states tapping at his chest. This is where Bruce jumps in "with the help of Dr. Cho we could try and make a new cradle… and use it for its intended purpose this time around. Making a heart powered by the arc reactor." You nod taking all the information in. "Well this is good right? How long would this take." This is where both Tony and Bruce go quiet. "Y/n the process is relatively easy, what's difficult is getting our hands on the Vibranium."
"Which is basically a non existent problem at this point… Bruce is just paranoid, my contact will pan out you'll see." Tony jumps back in clearly annoyed that Bruce was disclosing such trivial issues. "Even if we do get the Vibranium Y/n there's something we don't know… If you'll even survive the transplant." Your eyes meet his and he elaborates. "Your body might not be strong enough to handle it." Suddenly the inevitability of the situation dawns upon you. "Well I'm still doing it… I'm dying anyways. What difference does it make if it's a month from now or five. I'm doing it."
"Well, let not be hasty alright. We can still look for other alternatives." Bruce tries to argue. "Look, this is Y/n's decision. She's old enough to make her own decisions. Plus the more we work on this the higher survival chances are." Tony argues. You clear your throat when you notice some visitors standing by the door. "How long have they been there?" You ask, trying to mask your anger. Pietro and Steve both give you sheepish smiles that don't quite reach their eyes. "Look Y/n we just wanted to make sure you were okay… and by the looks of it you're not."
You stand making your way to stand in front of Steve who had just taken a defensive stance. "Well you're right I'm not okay. Now what are you going to do about it Cap… Other than feeling pity every time you look at me." You say pushing your finger on his chest. "This does not leave this room you understand?" You say looking at both Steve and Pietro. "But, My sister…" You nod "Figure it out pretty boy. Now if you could leave the adults have to talk." They both sigh but take their leave. You turn and notice Tony and Bruce staring, not saying anything. You can only laugh at the sight.
As much as you did want to be mad you couldn't. You were starting to come to terms with the fact that your business was now becoming their business. "I just wanted to watch them squirm." You clarify making Tony laugh. "Well I'd say you achieved that." Bruce mentions. "I'll give them til the end of the day. What do you think?" You say looking at Tony. "How much are you willing to bet, Billionaire to Billionaire?" He asks, challenging you. "50 million dollars." He scoffs. "Don't be a prude, make it Euros." You nod. "Best money there is." You say agreeing with him. "I'll hold you to that Y/n." He says as you leave the lab.
Two days later you were busy. You'd been in contact with Bruce and Pepper. Currently you were looking for someone to mentor. Someone you could leave your legacy with. Logan was an obvious choice but you knew he wouldn't take it. "You wanna give it a break Y/n you're not going to find the perfect candidate in so little time." Logan mentions. When suddenly your secretary enters with more forms. "Ms. Krast these are the applications from Midtown Science High. There's only four. Liz Allan, Ned Leeds, Flash Thompson, and uhh Peter Parker." You sigh with a smile forming on your lips. "They've got to be here my mentee. These kids are geniuses."
You say as you look through the applications. Slowly crossing off the first two, that Flash kid and Liz. Ned and Peter it was a tough choice until you saw some of yourself in Peter's eyes. "It's him." You say under your breath catching Logan's attention. "Peter Parker… I want him, he will be the future of our company. Make arrangements. I want him to feel welcomed." You say as you start to gather your things. "Send out the acceptance letter today." You say to Logan on your way out. "Will do Boss." He says with a smile growing on his face as he reads the file. Peter didn't have it easy on the contrary he lived through a lot but he still managed to be him.
The next week went by in a blur. Your will and testament were drafted and certified. You were set on that end and now on the other front. You were currently parked outside Midtown High waiting for the bell to ring. When it does a couple of minutes pass when a fresh faced kid is knocking on your window. "Y/n Krast nice to meet you kid." You say rolling down the window. He seems a little nervous. "Come on in Peter. We're going to get to know each other a little before we begin working with the internship." He nods enthusiastically, a small smile forming on his lips. "Tell me about your Peter, I mean outside of what I already know."
"Well I'm what most people would call a nerd. My aunt may always say that's not true but it is." You hum in agreement pulling out of the school parking lot. "Well being popular is overrated anyways." You jump in. "And Ned, my best friend, we're huge fans of you and your work." He says his speed increases as he starts to ramble about how he followed your trajectory as soon as he found out who you were. "Well I'm glad you like what I do Peter but in my eyes were equals. I will teach you my ways and hopefully you'll take over once I'm dead. Keeping my legacy alive long after I'm dead." You say seriously making him settle and quiet down.
"Ms. Krast you can't be serious." He says giving you an incredulous look. "I was an orphan… I was given a chance. Someone believed in me. I guess what I'm trying to say is that you remind me of me… and I would like to give you that same chance that I was given." You say sincerely. "Y/n that's too generous… Plus I don't think that I'm what you're looking for. I'm clumsy and…" You stop the car making him look at you. "You may not be ready now or tomorrow but if you let me teach you, you will be." You say reassuringly. "Plus I don't plan on dying anytime soon." You say playfully at the end causing Peter to laugh successfully lightening the mood. "Also another plus for you after this year's audit we'll be working hand in hand with Tony Stark."
At the mention of Tony's name he lit up ten times more than you thought possible. It made you laugh a little but you understood him. "That's amazing. Me working for Y/n Krast and Tony Stark, a literal dream come true." You nod at his statement. The day went by incredibly fast. He was a nice kid, respectful and smart, a little naïve but overall sensible. You went to his favorite pizza place and talked, went to Krast Industries and introduced him to Logan. Showed him his dedicated work space. "So here's your badge, don't lose it. Umm… you'll be here every other day after school, and if you have some special dates tell Margaret the secretary and she'll make a schedule around it." You say as you're walking towards the elevator.
Peter stops abruptly turning to face you. "Thank you really." He then proceeds to rather hastily pull you into a hug. You're shocked initially but hug him back nonetheless. "Don't sweat it kid." You say patting his back. "I'll have one of my drivers give you a lift home alright." He nods. Just before you press the button for the elevator the doors open. Revealing Pepper Potts and Tony Stark. It makes you laugh internally knowing that the young boy beside you just had his world rocked. "Ms. Krast this is real right?" He asks in a high pitched voice. You nod.
"Pepper Tony, I would like you to meet my new mentee Peter Parker." You say nudging him forward. "Hi, you're Tony Stark." He says in a daze. "Yes kid I am Tony stark and you are?" Tony could literally not care less. Until you gave Pepper a look and she nudged Tony. "Alright kid it was nice meeting you." He says overly enthusiastically. Peter takes the compliment either way. "Alright Peter go over to Margaret she'll take you to the driver. We have some urgent business to attend." He nods and waves goodbye shyly and takes his leave. "Right what do you guys need." Pepper clears her throat "Well actually Tony and I wanted to invite you out to lunch."
"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's get going." You say walking off with Pepper. "You'll be pleased to know that you won our wager. They know..." Tony mentions at the restaurant. You laugh. "Told you!" Pepper gives you a look. "They're worried about you." You sigh. "Pepper, believe me I'm worried too." Tony quickly steps in. "Which you don't need to worry about too much, everything is in place. Everything panned out Dr. Cho was more than willing to help us. So whenever you want." He says again not meeting your gaze. "I was… ummm. Actually thinking we should hold off on that."
"What… why?" They both ask almost immediately. "I'm okay right now." Tony scoffs. "So you rather wait till you have another episode to undergo the procedure." You hum. "Precisely see you get it." Watching their confusion you continue. "I've got things I have to leave ready. Time that I can't take for granted." Before they could argue with you said. "I need time… I-i drafted my will a couple of days ago." You say burying your head into your hands. "It's funny really… how you get things you're willing to live for. And life just comes along and takes it from you." Your mind drifts off to Viv and David. You wipe your tears and excuse yourself. Just as you're about to leave you remember.
"Put the money in a college fund for the kid." You grab Peppers shoulder and nod. "We'll keep in touch." You say leaving the restaurant.
Three weeks later
Pretty early on you noticed Peter's jumpy behavior. It wasn't long till you found out his little secret. Again smart kid heart of gold even, but too naïve for his own good. You'd had one of your AI robots track him after he'd shown up a little dinged up. Telling him you knew took some time. You didn't know the extent of his capabilities, but you'd seen the kid walk on walls and kick some ass.
As cute as he looked in that makeshift costume you had a better one in mind. "Peter I would like to show you something." You call out from your workstation in the lab. "Ward pull up spider schematics please." You call out. "What do you think?" You say as Peter glances at his new suit. "I-i um… It's awesome but who is at for?" He said quickly. You almost burst out in laughter right then and there but you played along. "Well I was in Queens the other day and there was this mugging and some hero came out of nowhere and stopped the mugging." You say as you deconstruct the specks of the suit. Watching as peter gawks at the hologram.
"When I noticed his suit wasn't really a suit, I made him one. You think he'll like it?" Peter nods eagerly, you hum in response. "Alright then try it on, see how it fits spider boy." Peter stands there with his mouth hanging open and you could swear saliva came out. "You aren't that good at keeping secrets kid." You say handing him the suit. "I expect you to be careful, kid." Peter starts to ramble trying to explain himself and begs you to not fire him. You physically had to stop him from pacing. "No ones firing anyone. I'm proud of your kid again, just be careful." Emphasizing the last part. "I will" after all that's out of the way you and Peter spent the day testing out the specks in his new suit. Web slingers and all. Yo I didn't leave until he got the hang of it. It took a while but it was well with the wait.
The next day you wake up to the news seeing a familiar twin on the news. Not good Lagos had gone wrong, the building collapsed and Wanda was to 'blame'. You hurriedly made your way through your morning routine and raced to the compound. As soon as you make it to the common room you can tell something's off. "How is everybody?" You asked Steve who was the first you saw. "I'm assuming you heard about the incident." You don't have the heart to say yes so you just nod. "We're all a little down on morale. Nothing we can't fix." You say, giving you a small smile. You hate that he is down playing this because of your current dilemma. "It wasn't your fault." You say. As you walk off towards Pietro.
"Are you okay?" You ask this time actually worried Pietro doesn't seem like his usual self. "No...It's Wanda. She hasn't talked to anyone she hasn't eaten she hasn't left her room." He says all in one breath. He finally stopped stirring and slid down to the floor and sat. "Its my fault. I-i could've moved faster, I could've saved them." He says defeatedly. "Maybe… Maybe not" You say bluntly sitting in front of him. "You can't go back now. And I know it's a sour experience. You made the right decision." You sigh. "You made the choice that saved the most lives." He nods letting out a deep breath. "I know… I know but Wanda. If I had saved those people Wanda wouldn't be feeling like this right now." You shake your head. "You fail to realize that if you had done that you would've died along with the other victims. Wanda will come around and let me talk to her." He only nods. "She's in her room."
You knock on her door a couple of times… no answer. So you make yourself comfortable and prepare yourself. Your knock every minute or two and you're constantly yelling in your head. Half an hour goes by and nothing. You go back to mentally yelling, when suddenly you're being dragged by the collar of your shirt into the room with the doors shutting behind you. "You're stubborn like a mule." She says not sparring you a look. "Yeah well I'm dying what are you gonna do about it." You quipped smiling at her. She chuckles. Suddenly the light leaves her face. "I killed people… I put people in danger, I put my own brother I'm danger." You nod. "You also saved hundreds of people. God only knows what that gas would have done. So thank you Wanda. You're my hero." You say sending her a smile.
Right when she's about to say something a certain red friend phases through the wall. "You will never cease to amaze me Vision." You say while looking between him and the wall. "You have very good taste in clothes." You mention as you eye him. He smiles. "Vision. We talked about this, there's a door for a reason." Wanda states. "Yes, well the door was open so I assumed…" He says, explaining himself. "What did you need Vision?" Wanda asks cutting him off. "Well Mr. Stark asked me to come and get both you there is a team meeting. With secretary Ross."
