Hi I was hoping you can do an enemies to lovers headcanon between thor/reader and how that go.
Being enemies to lovers with Thor (GN!Reader) would include...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Warnings: Mentions of eating, drinking, and intoxication, Heimdall & Odin cameos lol
a/n: Hi! Thanks for being my very first video game headcanons request! I haven't gotten and answered a request in awhile and it feels good to do them again! Hope you don't mind the reader being gender neutral. And as always my readers are diverse friendly even with no specified details about the reader (which is how it should be)! Hope you enjoy! :))
If you want to be tagged in any of my content, don’t be afraid to tell me via my ask box or through messages! Just remember to be clear about what specific kinds of content, characters, and fandoms you want me to tag you in or if you want to be put on my general tag list! I’m always looking to add more people and I’d be more than happy to add you (if you wish)! :3
Tumblr media
Being an enemy of Thor is a... precarious position to be in lmao
Even if it isn’t full blown “you owe me a blood payment” kind of enemy to him
I feel like the major turn point in how you both become Thor’s lover but also how your perceptions of one another change, is how you view the everyday things that he has to deal with and how it drives him to self destruction
You didn’t care that he was a God and wouldn’t have long term issues from drinking so much, you cared about the hurt it put him through and root of the problem
Because of that he began to see the many layers that make up your own life, your character, and how you deal (or don’t deal) with things
Basically you and him become positive influences for one another and confidants to each other’s issues
Expect a LOT of bickering between the two of you like even after the two of you become lovers, it’s still a main part of your relationship honestly
Though the kind of bickering changes after you and him become official
Beforehand it could be pretty backhanded and snippy, like you were just quipping back and forth cause there was some resemblance of bad blood between you and Thor
When you and Thor become official the bickering evolves into older married couple type bickering
Overall it’s pretty light hearted and in good fun
There isn’t a layer of venom behind each word anymore but instead softness and kindness
At times Thor will playfully scold you whenever you’re not careful or just plain naive lol
When you were enemies with him, his pet name for you was basically bone head
Now it’s bone head (affectionate) :”
With the changes in tone comes changes in behavior as well
Like whenever Thor needs to jump from place to place with his godly might, he’ll give you a heads up, and cradle you carefully in his arms while he makes his leaps
Before he used to just grab you and fly through the air like the menace the is
Other things that have changed is that he will continuously invite you to have drinks with him and eat amongst the Einherjar
He hangs out with them from time to time and could use someone to keep him company
Will absolutely share his food and drink with you and if you wish, he’ll go to a more private place in order to spend quality time with you as well
When y’all were enemies, if you walked in to spend some time at the hall, he wouldn’t even so much as glance at you
And if he was drunk around you, he was a total ass, not just because he was white girl wasted but because he also really didn’t like you
Now, if he’s drunk around you, he’s still a bit mean, or mainly unresponsive
Though if the two of you are both drunk together, than that’s not a good thing for anybody lmao
Imagine being drunk with Thor and going up to the Asgardian wall where Heimdall is and just absolutely verbally destroying that man
[Heimdall will remember that]
If the two of you find yourselves within or going to a realm with a cold climate, he will put his heavy fur cloak on you to keep you warm
Won’t ask for it back once y’all leave the cold realm, you can keep it, he can always get another <3
If you asked him for his fur cloak while you two were still enemies, he’d just straight up ignore you or go “no.” </3
Another perk of being lovers with Thor is that you now have unlocked being able to snuggle with him
Yes he is as warm and fuzzy as he looks, a true bear in that sense of the word
Prefers to be the big spoon but will not grumble if you asked to be the big spoon
Gives the best back rubs for some reason ??? maybe it’s because his hands are the size of mallets and though they’re calloused, they just feel good!
Also Thor gives me bathing for hours mindlessly with his partner enjoyer type of vibe so expect that as well
And yes the two of you do take turns washing and doing each other hair <3
Or just relax with you for hours in silence if that's what you'd prefer that
Will let you pet Mjolnir as much as you like and even attempt to pick it up
He’ll even pick up Mjolnir himself while you’re holding it and lift you up into the air just to mimic what it would be like to wield it
Thor is down to let you braid his hair or beard if you wish
Usually he doesn’t have the time to care about his appearance that much and doesn’t care to call attention to his looks but if braiding his hair makes you happy, it will not deny you the opportunity to do so
He does minimal braiding on his own beard and would secretly like to have something elaborate or longer
Will totally get more tattoos if you recommend some to him or would like to see Thor with some more in certain places
You’ve always admired his tattoos and now that you’re lovers with him, you get to inspect them up close, admire and trace them with your fingers
You'll become curious about what they mean and how and why he got them and he'll be more than happy to tell you those tales
It takes some encouragement to get Thor to have some fun and actually relax for once
He’s so used to being ordered around, controlled, degraded, and having no chill time, either that or nobody caring enough to give him a break or spend genuine quality time with him
That and almost everyone around him is a major prick lmao
A lot of the relaxing is just Thor being away from everyone except for you
Quiet dinners, naps, baths, drinking & eating contests, walks, etc, are all some of the best parts of your relationship with Thor
A much needed break and acts of self care that also involves you, his favorite person in the world
Speaking of everyone else, it’s pretty amusing to see folks react to you and Thor getting together tbh
Odin and Heimdall especially since even they were pretty sure that y’all two would pretty much stay forever bitter to each other
The look on Heimdall’s face when he realizes that he’ll have to deal with Thor from now on whenever he heckles you
The look on Odin’s face when he realizes that he’ll have to deal with you from now on whenever he heckles Thor
Also Thor undeniably will come to your aid whenever an issue arises even if it’s not a big deal in the grand scheme of things
You do the same for him despite him not really caring what others think and say but the thought is what truly counts
Cause there was a time when he was the one attacking you and part of him does feel bad for his past actions
He wants to make up for that and show you through actions that he indeed thinks and feels for you differently from now on
And even you feel the same which you confide in him about
That leads to both you and Thor making vows to instead be by one another’s sides instead of against

Heizou + Candy Apples
The bright red maple leaves of Inazuma fell gently onto the ground and whisked through the quiet wind as you and Heizou walked through the streets of Inazuma City, hands and fingers loosely intertwined.
It was calm and quiet, only the sound of chatter from the other visitors filling the air. Your hands swung back and forth, a light smile grazing your face. That was until you felt a sudden pull on your hand, as if you were being dragged away.
The detective you called your boyfriend was now pulling you along with him, but not enough to hurt you. “Heizou! Slow down, what the hell-” you called out to him, confused on why he was so suddenly running.
“Aw, C’mon, Y/n! Don’t you smell that?” He laughed, not caring to turn back and face you.
“Smell what?” You said puzzled. Heizou huffed dramatically before stopping and pointing to the cart standing just a few feet away, a worker stood in front of it handing out candy apples with a warm smile on their face.
“It’s candy apples! C’mon, lets get some!” He jumped excitedly, almost as if he was a child. He was right though, they smelled really good and you were quite hungry. Besides, it was fall now and what better way to kick off the season than having candy apples together with your boyfriend.
Kaeya + Halloween Party
“Y/n! Over here!” you heard as soon as you walked into the knight’s headquarters. Your eyes searched around until you saw Amber waving at you from the opposite side of the corridor, excitement was present in her eyes.
You smiled back and walked over toward her. The two of you complimented each other’s costumes and caught up with each other for a bit. It didn’t last long before a gloved hand made its way to your shoulder and pulled you into someone’s side.
“Well, well, well,” someone said from beside you, “What do we have here?”
“Shut up, Kaeya,” you jokingly rolled your eyes.
His eyes widened and he feigned a hurt expression, “Now, that is no way to treat your boyfriend, Y/n.”
Your eyes squinted once you turned to face him, “Kaeya, you can’t be my boyfriend without a costume. Literally who shows up to a halloween party without a cosutme!”
“What? I am wearing a costume!”
“No you’re not.”
“Yes, I am.”
“Really? Because it looks like what you wear everyday,” you deadpanned. He placed a hand over his heart, the fake hurt expression from earlier once again making its way back onto his face. Amber laughed and walked away from the petty argument, you hadn’t even noticed her leave.
“No I’m not, I’m dressed as a pirate!”
You had half a nerve to slap him right then and there, instead, you burst out laughing. Some of the other knights had even looked over to see what all the commotion was, but ignored it nevertheless. You weren’t phased by it though, in fact, you were too consumed by your laughter.
“There- There is no way, you’re being serious right now!” You held your stomach as you continued to laugh.
“Stop laughing…I’m serious, Y/n. Stop laughing!”
Albedo + Apple Cider
“Shit it’s cold out here,” you spoke as you shivered, hands tucked under your armpits to try to keep warm. Albedo glanced at you, a frown making it’s way onto his face.
“Really? It seems quite warm here compared to Dragonspine,” he thought aloud. The two of you stopped walking, choosing to stand next to the fountain for a moment. It was only October, yet the air felt freezing cold as you and Albedo took a late night walk in Mondstadt’s city gates. If anything, you were happy you weren’t in Dragonspine right now.
Albedo looked down at himself, all he had on was his normal lab coat, but without the sleeves, he knew it would do no good to keep you warm. “I apologize, I do not have anything to keep you warm. Perhaps, you could take my gloves though?”
Without hesitation, you took them from his hands. It barely did anything to help though. Your teeth were chattering now and Albedo was getting more and more worried.
“Here, come sit down for a second,” the alchemist said as he guided you to a nearby bench. Luckily, it was wooden so it wasn’t too cold unlike the stone ones. You wrapped your arms around your torso, leaning forward as you watched him walk off toward the Good Hunter.
A few moments later, your blonde haired boyfriend returned, two cups in his hand. He carefully sat down next you before handing you one of them, “They were selling hot apple cider, I believe this could help to warm you up.”
You smiled and drank it quickly, almost burning your tongue. “Careful, now,” Albedo spoke again, a light laugh falling from his lips.
You sipped it carefully and Albedo moved to put his arm around you. Mentally, he made a note to start wearing an actual coat. You looked so cute wearing his gloves and sipping on the cider, Albedo smiled at the sight. He could only imagine what you would look like wearing one of his coats.
Yelan + Scary Story Telling
“…Some say he died of natural causes, but everyone knows it’s actually because he brutally murdered everyone and then killed himself, allowing him to haunt the building forever.”
“Y/n?” Yelan spoke after a moment of silence. She turned to face you, who was lying next to her in bed, only to find you with a ghostly look on your face and a frightened stare.
An hour ago, you and Yelan were supposed to go to bed for the night. However, since it was nearing Halloween, Yelan thought it would be a fun idea to tell scary stories. It turned out to not be so fun after all now that you were practically shaking in fear next to her.
Yelan smirked for a moment, proud of herself for successfully scaring you. Her laugh suddenly rang out in your ears and you frowned. “That is so not funny.”
You turned away from her and pulled the covers over yourself. Yelan’s laughter gently faded out and a quiet but warm smile grazed her face. Her eyes softened as she looked at you.
Carefully, she wrapped her arms around your waist and pulled you toward her so that your back was against her torso. “I’m sorry for scaring you, do you forgive me?”
You huffed out a sigh and turned around in her arms, gently laying your head against her chest and shutting your eyes. “I guess I can forgive you,” you sleepily murmured.
“Good,” she said quietly, “But I gotta say, your face was priceless.”
“Yelan!”
Scaramouche + Handing Out Candy
The sound of kids running through the street and the light wind sifting through the leaves was the only sound filling the air. It was nice, something calming to zone out to. A dazed look was on your face as you smiled at all the kids enjoying the Halloween festivities.
The sound someone spitting something out followed by a “Ugh, that’s fucking disgusting.” was what snapped you out of your trance. Your eyes snapped to your boyfriend who was sitting next to you, a grimace on his face and a candy wrapper now on the floor.
“Did you seriously just eat a piece of the candy? That’s for the kids, Scaramouche!” You exclaimed.
“So? I wanted to try it. Though I shouldn’t have seeing as it tasted like the worst thing I’ve ever eaten in my life,” he countered, ”I mean, seriously, what kids even eat this shit?”
You rolled your eyes at him and snatched the bowl from his hands, “C’mon, can’t you be nice for once? It’s Halloween!”
“Shut up. You taste it then and then you’ll be on my side instead of these creepy little demon children.”
“You just ate the last piece of that candy thou-” you were cut off by Scaramouche placing his lips directly on yours, the flavors of the candy now on your tongue. When he stepped back, he smirked at you, prepared for you to agree with him.
“The candy tastes fine to me,” you paused for a second, a smile pulling at your lips, “Though, maybe it’s just your breath.”
Scaramouche’s smile fell from his face in an instant, “I’ll kill you- hey! Get back here, Y/n!”
Ayaka + Full Moon
The first time you met her it was like love at first sight for you. Your hands were all clammy and your heart starting racing. She was your first crush, and you were sure she would be your last. No one could compare to her.
“Wow,” you breathed out in awe as you stared up at the night sky. You had practically whispered it, but Ayaka still heard you. Her eyes followed your line of sight and she gazed up at it too. It was Halloween and there was a full moon, it was perfect.
“You always have loved the moon, haven’t you?” she spoke, voice soft as always. You only nodded, still staring up at it. On the contrary, her eyes drifted back to you.
She had been walking you out for the night and you were just about to say goodbye. Yet, here you were, still at the Estate standing side by side. Neither of you wanted to leave the other.
Ayaka’s hand grabbed yours gently, pulling you out of your trance. She knew you loved the moon, how could she not? So, with her mind made up, she interlocked her fingers with yours and pulled you a little closer.
You hadn’t known that she liked you back, but maybe tonight you could. Maybe tonight, Ayaka could finally tell you how she felt.
Tighnari + Autumn Rain
“You’ve got to be kidding me.”
You turned toward Tighnari as you stood up from the forest ground, a confused look on your face, “What’s wrong?”
He nearly rolled his eyes at you, “It’s cloudy out, meaning it’s probably going to rain…again. And that means we have to postpone work for another day. Why does it have to rain so damn much during the fall.”
You held back the urge to laugh, “Are you serious? It’s just rain, it’s not gonna kill your work.”
The forest watcher was about to argue again but was interrupted by a small droplet of water landing on his face. He let out an annoyance laced sigh and began to grab his things. More droplets began to fall and fast — almost as fast as his mood was dropping.
“Archons, c’mon, Y/n, let’s go ba-” Tighnari stopped mid-sentence, his bag would’ve fallen off his shoulder if you hadn’t grabbed it in time. You were about to keep walking when his arm suddenly shot out and pulled you back against him, “You can’t go out there, it’s pouring and you’ll get all of our equipment wet.”
You fought back the flushed feeling you had just gotten and gently removed his arm from in front of you — it was certainly not helping the developing crush you had on him. “It’s just a little autumn rain, Tighnari. We can’t wait under these plants forever. Besides, we literally live in a rainforest.”
“No, we can’t risk ruining our equipment with the water. And I don’t want you getting sick,” he spoke calmly. You nearly felt your heart beat out of your chest.
You carefully took off your backpack and laid it against a rock, Tighnari did the same. As the two of you settled down, Tighnari began to gently smile to himself as he glanced at you. Even though the weather conditions were less than ideal, Tighnari knew it was the perfect time to finally confess his feelings for you.
Dehya + Leaves
“Archons, have I ever mentioned how much I hate being in the rainforest?” Dehya grumbled. You giggled in response.
“Only a million times,” you responded. A small smile was still on your face. It was always so comical for you whenever you had the chance to walk through Sumeru City with Dehya. It made her so pouty sometimes. She found it annoying, but you found it rather cute.
Not that she knew that, of course.
The silence between the two of you was comfortable. You had stopped walking as you stopped in front of the door to your house. Dehya hesitantly stopped, her hand dropping from your arm. You brushed over the spot, feeling a little cold now that it was gone.
You giggle softly again and the same frown from earlier returned to Dehya’s face. Your hand reached up to her hair and she leaned back a bit, flustered.
“What are you doing?” she whispered as you walked closer, her eyes widening. Any closer, and your lips could’ve touched.
But you quickly retreated and your hand retracted from her hair. You held something up to her face as you slyly smiled.
“There was a leaf in your hair.”

As the days flew by, you and Rengoku learned more about each other and your different worlds. You introduced Rengoku to different foods and he enjoyed all of them but his favorite was by far the sweet potatoes. Even though it has only been a couple of days, you and Rengoku were practically inseparable. Currently, you were fixing Rengoku’s sixth plate of sweet potatoes and he was talking about how much he liked this world better than his own.
“This world is filled with so much exhilaration and entertainment! There is so much to do and to eat, back home, it was the same thing everyday. Wake up, hunt for blood, and if we’re lucky, maybe we could get our hands on human blood but it’s not likely.”
He said as you placed the plate in front of him and his eye’s immediately lit up. He placed the potatoes in his mouth and like always, he exclaimed.
“Umai!”
You both continued talking until you eventually heard a knock on the door. You went to go get it and when you opened the door, you saw Shinobu along with a man with deep blue eyes.
“Hello Y/n, this is the vampire I summoned, his name is Giyu and he’s depressed and quiet so don’t expect him to answer if you ask him something.”
She giggled and he just looked at her and sighed. You let them inside and went to grab Rengoku to introduce him to Shinobu.
“Shinobu, I did the spell that you did and this is the vampire I summoned, his name is-“
“Kyojuro Rengoku! Oh, hello Giyu! It’s been awhile since I last saw you, how have you been?”
Shinobu’s eyes widened and she glanced back and forth between the two vampires.
“Ara? Tomioka, I thought you didn’t have any friends?”
Giyu glanced at her before turning back to Rengoku and greeting him back.
“I’ve been alright, it’s nice to see you again.”
“Anyways, I see the spell worked Y/n, how has it been so far?”
Shinobu asked as she sat down next to you on the couch.
“It’s been great! Rengoku has told me so much information about the world he and Giyu come from.”
You told Shinobu the information Rengoku told you about while Giyu and Rengoku (mostly Rengoku) talked and caught up with each other. Shinobu noticed how much you loved to talk about Rengoku and the faint blush that would creep up on your cheeks whenever Rengoku laughed or glanced at you.
“Y/n, could we perhaps go practice a spell I’ve been curious about, it will only take a couple minutes.”
You agreed and left the vampires and went down into your basement. Once you got down there and were about to grab supplies, she stopped you.
“Oh, we don’t need anything, I just wanted to ask you something without them hearing us.”
“Oh? Okay, what did you want to ask me then?”
“I noticed that you and Rengoku have grown very attached to each other and what I find especially interesting, I keep seeing you blush whenever Rengoku is mentioned or looks at you. Do you perhaps have a crush on your guardian?”
Your eyes widened a bit and you felt a warm blush form on your cheeks. You started fidgeting and were unable to directly meet her eyes.
“I don’t k-know what you are talking about or insinuating…he is just my guardian nothing more, nothing less.”
Shinobu giggled and waved you off, she obviously didn’t believe you.
“Sure sure, whatever you say Y/n-San~”
You felt your blush darken and you shook your head.
“S-shut up!”
Meanwhile with the boys, Rengoku was going on and on about how much better his life is with you in the mortal realm and eventually Giyu sighed and cut him off mid sentence.
“You like them, don’t you?”
Rengoku was shocked by Giyu’s sudden words as he was not expecting him to talk at all, he cleared his throat as he sweat dropped.
“That is uh a bold accusation my friend, I can assure you that I did not fall in love with the person I am supposed to be protecting.”
Giyu raised an eyebrow, unfazed and sighed again.
“You’re bad at lying, and I simply asked if you liked them and based on your response.”
“Y-you are mistaken! Even if I did like them, I couldn’t do anything about it because they summoned me to protect them, not to seduce them.”
Giyu shook his head when they heard you and Shinobu coming up the stairs.
“How was your spell?”
Giyu asked and before you could say anything, Shinobu said.
“Nosy are you Tomioka?”
Giyu exhaled while you and Rengoku kept glancing between them.
“I was just asking, no need to be so rude.”
“Me being rude?”
Shinobu scoffed and was about to insult him when you just awkwardly laughed and tried to get away from this conversation.
“Anyways! Why don’t we go outside for a walk or something? Maybe go get some ice cream or go look at the scenery?”
“Oooh, I would love to Y/n but unfortunately, I have some stuff to do at home, thank you for letting us stay with you a bit and I’ll see you some other time!”
Shinobu said and after you and Rengoku said your farewells to them, Shinobu yanked poor Giyu out the door.
“So you and Giyu knew each other before you guys were summoned?”
You asked him and he just stared at you with a smile on his face, he was captivated by you and was lost in thought.
“Rengoku? Rengokuuu, are you there?”
He stayed silent as a multitude of different scenarios were racing through his mind. You tugged his shirt but he still didn’t answer you and you took a deep breath before placing a quick but soft kiss on his cheek and that’s when he finally snapped back to reality. His cheeks turned a crimson red and he was extremely confused.
“Huh? Uh what was that for?”
“You were just staring at me while I was trying to talk to you and even when I was tugging you, you wouldn’t answer me.”
That’s when he was filled with embarrassment, he was so lost in thought that he completely forgot that you were there.
“O-oh, I apologize Y/n, I was um thinking about something.”
You raised an eyebrow and questioned him.
“What were you thinking about exactly?”
He didn’t know what to say and before he could prepare a proper answer, words slipped out of his mouth.
“I like you a lot.”

@daisugaweek2020 , day 1 : STRANGERS / Roommates
This one’s for all the lads I used to see daily on the train, and whom I’d only ever speak a word to when it was late, but still perfectly recognised as if we were the bestest friends.
Maybe (definitely) these two will be less of a coward than I am and start an actual conversation and become train ride buddies, and then all the time buddies (and then they kiss).

Tumblr media
[ITADORI YUUJI]
Itadori kisses your temple. He makes the effort to smile when he sees you looking, but you often catch him glancing at you in concern. After any mission, he asks what type of comfort you need, because he understands how easily it is to pretend like everything’s okay, yet still break-down behind closed doors. He likes to stay by your side after missions (if you let him), because simply spending time with you makes him feel so at ease. He cuddles with you and often puts on a show as background white-noise to help the two of you fall asleep.
[FUSHIGURO MEGUMI]
Fushiguro always manages to find you first. He likes hugging you from behind, and he uses his height to his advantage to rest his head atop yours. He stays there for a while, and sometimes, if he feels especially worried, he mumbles into your ear how relieved he is that you’re okay. Sometimes you have to drag him with you as you walk because he doesn't want to let go. Most of the time, the two of you find yourselves standing close to each other because just being near the other feels strangely comforting and safe.
[KUGISAKI NOBARA]
Kugisaki pulls you into a hug. It's a tight hug, not a gentle one. It's an “I’m-glad-you’re-safe-don’t-you-dare-die-on-me” type of hug. She walks with you back to the academy in comfortable silence, but stands a little closer to you than normal. Your elbows and fingers brush back and forth, and after a while, she squeezes your hand to make sure you’re still there. She likes spending time with you afterward, and often keeps you company. Sometimes she has you put on your favorite show or watches you work on your hobby. Seeing what makes you happy makes Kugisaki happy.
[ZEN’IN MAKI]
Maki lets her guard down. She feels safe enough with you to admit the truth of things: shit, I sprained my ankle; for a moment there, I felt really scared; I’m so, so happy you’re okay. She likes to hold you in her arms for a while, and it feels nice to have someone there to chase away the post-mission loneliness. Sometimes it feels better if the two of you spend time outside, and Maki traces little hearts onto your cheeks as you rest your head in her lap.
[INUMAKI TOGE]
Inumaki doesn’t speak much after missions. He wants to crawl back into his dorm and collapse onto the nearest available place. But with you, he makes sure to walk you back safely to your own dorm first. He doesn’t hold your hand, but he interlocks his fingers with yours as the two of you make the way back home. He glances at you every so often, and you can tell what he means: I’m so, so glad you’re safe. He always tells himself he won't do it, but he caves each time and gives you the biggest hug before he leaves. It feel so warm in your arms.
[OKKOTSU YUUTA]
Okkotsu helps bandage your wounds, and you do the same for him. The relief he feels at seeing you again automatically dispels a lot of his exhaustion, and he comforts you by easing into gentle conversations that help take your mind off whatever just happened. When he reaches for your hand as the two of you make your way home to the academy, he presses little kisses to the back of your knuckles. Sometimes it isn't the place to ignore the mission and pretend things are okay, so Okkotsu always listens and murmurs the right things to make you feel better.
[ZEN’IN MAI]
Mai immediately searches for you. She doesn’t physically show how worried she is, but you can tell. When you’re alone, she pulls you into a hug that’s so tight, it nearly stings. Later, she nestles against your side, but also makes it clear that she will do very bad things to your dorm if you tell anyone. Sometimes at night, you hear her murmur that she wishes the two of you could run away from everything because she hates seeing you hurt. She never mentions it in the morning, so you simply hold her in your arms and press kisses to the tip of her nose.
[KASUMI MIWA]
Miwa cradles your face. She runs her thumb across your skin and searches your eyes to find any signs that you’re hurt. She tells you, after a moment, that she doesn’t know what she would do without you. So she really means it when she admits how relieved she is that you returned safely. Later, she wraps a blanket around the two of you and falls asleep in your arms. If you have any band-aids, she presses little kisses to each one.
[NORITOSHI KAMO]
Kamo smiles softly at you. He feels genuine relief at your very sight, and he makes sure to tell you that. He pretends to act unbothered, but he does little things that show you the remnants of his underlying worries: when alone, he hugs you seconds longer than normal, and when he glances at you, it feels like he does it to prove to himself that you really are still there. He also likes holding your hand to trace his fingers around yours.
[YOSHINO JUNPEI]
Junpei beelines to your side. Or at least, he beelines toward you while trying to appear casual. He never knows what exactly, he plans to do, but each time he nearly collapses into you when he pulls you into a hug. It isn’t so much to make you fall, but enough to make you stumble back a little. He can't stop himself from mumbling over and over how relieved he is that you’re okay. You like to run your hands through his hair and gaze at him (because you worry for him, too). Afterward he seems more reserved, but he never hesitates to nudge your shoulder, or lean his head against yours.
[GOJO SATORU]
Before any mission, you and Gojo make plans to meet at that cafe. It feels too care-free and out of place for the moment, because to most sorcerers, it gives off major see you soon! vibes. When you arrive, Gojo likes teasing you before heading back to the academy, but he also makes certain to seriously check-in on how you feel. Sometimes, you even catch a genuine smile ghost across his lips. That soft-type of smile is only meant for you. And Gojo never says it, but he's glad you return safely. Because despite everything, the moments he spends waiting for you to arrive truly terrify him.
[NANAMI KENTO]
Nanami nods at you in respect when you regroup after a mission. You did good. I'm proud of you. When you return home, he presses a kiss to your forehead and hands you a cup of tea. While doing so, he allows his hands to linger and wrap around yours for a moment. Later, the two of you sit in comfortable silence and try to forget. Talking doesn’t quite feel right after a mission, so you like to lean your head against his shoulder, and he leans his head against yours.
[SHOKO IEIRI]
Shoko thumbs away the imaginary eyelash on your cheek. Or at least, that’s what she says this time. It changes every mission, but either way, you always find yourself gazing into her relieved eyes as she thumbs across your face. I love you, it means. Thank you for keeping your promise. Thank you for coming back. She likes tracing little patterns into your skin as she sits beside you.
[UTAHIME IORI]
Utahime lets out a breath she was holding for a while. As soon as you walk within range, she pulls you into her arms and tucks her head in the crook of your neck. She can't help but murmur over and over that she was so worried. She instantly pulls back to search you for any injuries, and she gets upset if you try to hide them from her. After a while, she tends to feel a little embarrassed and unconsciously tries to disappear, but you grab her hand before she can leave and pepper little kisses to her flushed cheeks.
[MEI MEI]
Mei Mei catches your eye and smiles. She trusts you enough to stay alive, and she trusts your abilities to get out of trouble. But it doesn’t hurt to actually see proof of it, and the relief in her gaze fills you with warmth. Sometimes she mouths little words to you from across the room: I’m glad you’re okay; good to see you; I missed you. When she finally reaches you, she laughs and hugs you tightly. She still teases you.

kiss and make up with atsumu, iwaizumi, kenma, and tsukishima
Tumblr media
— m. atsumu
being with atsumu,, it’s no surprise that you two occasionally get into a few arguments here and there
they honestly range from the tiniest little, insignificant things from what to get for dinner to whether or not pineapple belongs on pizza aka things most people probably wouldn’t even bat an eye at
you were used to it considering how atsumu is, but his personality is what you liked most about him with how he’s constantly having you on your feet —never knowing what he’ll do next
they’re quiet funny at the end of the day and that back and forth banter is just another way you two show how much you care about each other
with that being said, no matter what you two are arguing about, it’s always lighthearted and not so serious
that’s why it honestly took you by surprise how atsumu’s typically nonchalant and teasing nature whenever you guys “argue” over something was something you’ve never seen before
very rarely did you ever see this man get incredibly angry and you’ve even seen all of his games where things weren’t going right
and perhaps that’s where the root of this argument started in the first place
dating a famous division 1 volleyball player who is well loved and respected, it’s hard being able to spend the proper time with him when he’s constantly travelling or getting recognized whenever you two are out on a date
you weren’t exactly complaining about this problem to atsumu after he came back from a tiresome and strenuous day of practice as you knew that it was going to be like this when you two first met
if anything, it was just a concern you voiced out that you obviously weren’t expecting him to solve with a snap of his fingers
“and what the fuck do you want me to do about it, (y/n)?” he snapped at you, venom coated his words like tar
you looked at him with widened eyes as a mixture of confusion and utter offense melted upon your expression
atsumu was notorious for using foul language on a daily basis, but never had he ever swore at you and it’s safe to say you like to keep that same energy with him
you scoffed at him, still a bit dumbfounded, “i’m not expecting you to fix anything over night, i was just saying.”
“as if i already didn’t know how hard it is to find time to spend together.”
“so, are you just treating me like an idiot now?”
it was late, you were tired just as much as atsumu was and you certainly weren’t in the mood to argue with him anymore
before you could even let him answer, you walked away from him and entered your bedroom withy a slammed door
you hated going to bed angry, but there honestly wasn’t anymore moral within you to even continue whatever leftover conversation between you and atsumu
perhaps giving time for something this to simmer until the morning would be enough to make sure your fatigue wasn’t blurring your thoughts knowing how dangerous misunderstandings can be
a few minutes later, atsumu enters the room, eyes scanning over your figure beneath the sheets as your breathing subsided
he thought you were fast asleep, but your mind was still awake and racing with the worse case scenarios. it made it so much more difficult now that atsumu laid beside you
he would wrap his arms around you, “i’m sorry, i shouldn’t have yelled at you.” whispering in a hushed, muffled voice. you could feel the way his lips pecked at you shoulder then up to your temple
you weren’t sure if he knew you were awake or not as you swore he could’ve heard your heart pounding
without uttering another word, you turn towards him, burying your head into the crook of his neck
you were just glad his warmth was still here
— i. hajime
you believe one of your biggest flexes within your relationship with iwa is that you two rarely argue or get into childish fights
sure, there were disagreements here and there, but most of them were minuscule decisions on what outfit to where that day or what restaurant you two wanted to eat at. most of which would be decided with a harmless game of rock, paper, scissors or nose goes lmao
other than constantly bickering with oikawa, iwaizumi isn’t really the type to get into shouting contests with you unlike with his best friend (most of which is started by oikawa anyway)
because of this, you weren’t really expecting to get into a fight with your boyfriend, and yet, it wasn’t like you weren’t used to him doing so
at the end of the day, you always ended up being the moderator of iwaizumi and oikawa’s loud back and forth banter if things got too rowdy
so never in a million years were you expecting oikawa to be taking your place at this very moment
poor dude doesn’t know what to do
he’s used to third wheeling you and iwa being all lovey dovey, but now that you two were in the midst of a midafternoon shouting contest, he’s completely dumbfounded
oikawa couldn’t help but feel bad for you as technically the whole reason why you and iwaizumi were arguing in the first place was because of him
long story short, iwa was sick and tired of oikawa flirting with you all the time despite only doing it to tease him
you were well aware of this as well, playing along with oikawa’s flirts just to tease your boyfriend
you didn’t see any harm in it as you made it very clear the moment you confessed to iwaizumi that you liked him and not his best friend (who you more or less saw as a brother over anything)
“listen, i’m sorry i was only playing around.” you apologize, throat already aching from the amount of stress you had already put on it
“if you were only playing around, then you wouldn’t be flirting with him everyday!” spat iwaizumi as he flickering a harsh look to oikawa who backed a good six feet away from you two (social distancing king lmao)
you honestly didn’t know what to say as a lump formed in your throat, rendering you speechless. granted, he had a point, but how couldn’t he overlook the way you only had eyes for him? the way you would “flirt” with oikawa they always tended to be backhanded, the way you would always kiss iwa after each of oikawa’s attempts to flirt, or how you would constantly remind him how much you loved him
it hurt slightly knowing how it was all overlooked by harmless teases
regardless,, it had to stop
before you could  apologize once more and say you’ll stop, iwaizumi huffs, “just say that you wanted him the entire time and not me.” before walking away entirely
your eyes widened, turning over towards a distanced oikawa who had the same look of surprise before motioning a hand towards your boyfriend, “well, go after him!”
with missing a beat, you ran down the block to catch up to iwaizumi, spreading your arms and throwing it around him as you bury your face into his back
“i’m sorry, i shouldn’t have done that.” your voice muffled into his uniform shirt, “i only like you, iwa, you have to believe me.”
your hands that were firmly clasped together to prevent him from breaking out of your embrace was slowly pulled apart by iwaizumi, feeling his entire body turn to face towards you
“idiot,” he muses with that same embrace
— k. kenma
i don’t think argument are common between you and kenma
he’s probably too preoccupied with playing video games or sleeping to even bother starting a fight over mindless disagreements
you were glad that you didn’t have to deal with such burdens of fighting with your significant other, but at the same time, you believed that small disagreements in relationships showed just how much you cared for the other
it showed how they were looking out for you if you were to ever make a terrible decision, and yet kenma would only bat an eye at you and shrug whenever you ask him for advice
in the end, you’d end up fucking something up or get hurt
or whenever you’d ask your boyfriend what he thinks about a specific outfit, he barely spare your a glance before uttering the words, “yeah, looks great babe.”
it sounded almost crazy to say, but sometimes you wished for you and kenma to get into arguments sometimes
not ones so serious it would lead to a significant gap within your relationship, but rather the ones the led for you guys to communicate more
besides, it’s not like you guys communicate a lot in the first place
you first brought up this concern when you came over to his apartment to which he was (surprise surprise) still playing video games
you didn’t mind about his hobbies as that’s what he liked most, but sometimes you just wished he would give you the proper attention for once
“hey,” you’d call out to him in the dark room, shaking a plastic bag in your hand in the hopes it would capture his attention, “i bought takoyaki!”
and to your low expectations, kenma simply hums as he clicks rapidly at his keyboard
your brows furrow as you pondered to yourself, what will get his attention?
“i also brought my boyfriend with me!” you lied just to see if his expression would even change
and what do ya know, it doesn’t. it’s the same focused deadpan on his computer screen, “no you didn’t, your boyfriends right here?”
you were at the end of your rope
“then why doesn’t my boyfriend come over here and act like it?” you hissed, “last time i checked, boyfriends get excited whenever they see their significant other and not over genshin characters.”
now that was a bite to kenma’s ego as he finally pulled his eyes away from the screen and towards you. “what?” he says, confused.
“do you even like me anymore?”
kenma scoffs almost dumbfounded, “of course i do, how could you say that?”
“because i experience it everyday, kenma.” you confess, fighting to keep your heavy gaze onto your boyfriend as he approaches you. “every time i come by i always see you at your desk in front of your computer. you never greet me first and unless i verbally say something, you probably won’t even notice that i’m here.” you voice broke slightly
“i-i’m sorry, (y/n)—”
“do you ever stop and think of the fact that the only times we see each other if from me visiting you? if i were just to stop one day i’d figure we wouldn’t even have a relationship in the first place.” you sigh as you shook your head, “you probably wouldn’t even notice, anyway.”
almost immediately does kenma wrap his arms around you in a tight embrace, almost as if he feared that you would disappear if he were to let go in the slightest
he places a kiss on your forehead before resting his own against yours, “i don’t ever want to hear those words come from you every again, (y/n). i’m so so sorry, i’ll promise to be better.”
you melted within his embrace, feigning a smile from appearing as you quickly give him a peck before remembering that the bag of food you bought was still in your hand
“let’s start by eating before the food gets cold.”
— t. kei
unlike the rest of the previously mentioned boys, arguments are pretty common between you and tsukishima considering his nature
he’s constantly teasing and making fun of you, but all of which were just jokes not meant to be taken seriously and you were well aware of this too
it’s probably the main reason why tsuki found himself so enamored with you as you constantly matched his energy
you two were shockingly similar with your humor and your smugness, but the main differences between the two of you was you academics
it’s not surprise how tsukishima is always at the top of his class while you’re always at the bottom of it
considering this, the majority of your dates during the week with him are usually study dates or normal dates that end with the two of  you either at the library or each other’s houses studying material for the following day’s test
it was clear that in order to date each other, you both had to have patience
you weren’t exactly the fastest learner and you easily got distracted with things around you that you’re honestly surprised that tsukishima’s nonexistent patience was still up and active
besides, he loved you. he had to understand your difficulties as most of the time you can’t help it, but at the same time his personality was like treading on broken glass
usually he had enough patience to last an entire two hour study session with you, but today was oddly different
nothing was going right with tsukishima’s day and he just got absolutely annoyed with every little thing from a person bumping into him in the halls to a stain on his uniform that you could barely even notice
right now, this was the tenth time he found you tuning him out and daydreaming
his knuckled turned alabaster from the pressure of squeezing his mechanical pencil. he huffed, trying to calm himself down as he rubbed his aching temples
“(y/n), were you even listening to what i was—”
“do you think giraffes know where other giraffes are from?” you interrupted him with another one of your mindless tangents, “like considering how the pattern of a giraffe’s fur depends on what regent they’re from, do you think a giraffe from southern africa could tell if another if from western africa—”
tsukishima was at his limit, “can’t you just shut the fuck up and focus for five minutes, (y/n)?” he shouts at you, “i swear, you wouldn’t be failing if you just listened for once.”
he huffs out in annoyance, completely ignoring the way the brightness in your expression fell into a frown
you weren’t mad as you honestly couldn’t blame him. having learning difficulties and a short attention span was burdening you boyfriend so much that he isn’t even obligated to be doing this for you
he was sacrificing his time tutoring you and you’re just wasting it
“i’m sorry i can’t learn as easily as you,” you mutter softly, picking up your things quickly
tsukishima gives you a look of confusion, “w-where are you going?”
“thanks for all your help, but i can’t keep wasting your time like this.” you say as you zipped up your backpack and left
the next day you walked to school alone. usually you would be walking with tsukishima and yamaguchi, but it seemed like even tadashi wasn’t there to wait outside your house either
you weren’t able to hide your melancholy as you entered your classroom, slightly glad that tsukishima and yamaguchi weren’t here yet to see your expression
it allowed you time to pull yourself together, and yet, that time alone was cut short as the two walked in
you briefly flicker them a look fast enough that they don’t notice, but long enough for you to see yamaguchi patting his best friend on the back with encouragement
tsukishima had something in his hands, but you were too far away to construe them
you looked back down to your desk, fiddling with you pencil and pretending as if you were thinking about what to write next
it was then did footsteps approach, arriving right next to you with a presence so unwavering
you gulped, hoping that it wasn’t who you thought it was as you looked it
of course it just had to be that one lanky boy with glasses and messy blond hair to be standing by your side
he was holding a stuffed giraffe and a small white box with string neatly tied around it
“i’m sorry for blowing up on you,” he bursts out his apology, “i know you have a hard time and i should’ve remembered that you can’t help it.”
he places the giraffe plushy and box onto your desk
“it’s an masai giraffe since i remembered you liking their unique fur pattern and i also got you strawberry short cake this morning before they ran out that’s why i wasn’t there to walk you to school.” tsukishima continues explaining, “i just hope you’re not angry with me.”
you felt a smile creeping up to your lips as you shook your head, “i could never.”

Begin Again
Pairing: Miya Osamu x F!Reader Warnings: none! Word Count: ~1.6k A/N: this was supposed to be sad but clearly it’s not
Tumblr media
There’s a faint glow coming from the coffee shop that’s just opened across the street, and if Osamu looks hard enough, he swears that he saw your silhouette moving back and forth behind the bar, making drinks with a bright smile stretched across your face. He’s seen you in there everyday since the coffee shop opened just a few days ago but he’s yet to pop in for a drink. He can’t make out your face from so far away, but there’s something oddly familiar about the way you bustle around. He curses to himself silently, reminding himself that it isn’t polite to stare at others, especially a rival (?) business. So instead, he decides that he’ll drop by sometime soon to get a drink for himself, and maybe Atsumu. But at the moment, he’s busy, running his own onigiri business, and soon enough, he’s pulled back to the present when he hears the bell on the door chime, announcing the arrival of a customer.
“Irasshai— nevermind.” Atsumu’s face drops at his brother’s greeting and immediately starts protesting dramatically, not noticing that Osamu isn’t paying any attention to him. The bell chimes again and Osamu calls out the greeting, looking up to see Bokuto and Hinata run in, dragging a clearly unamused Sakusa with them. The former greet Osamu excitedly and slid up to the bar, peering over to see what onigiri he was making while Sakusa mutters apologies and immediately squints at the menu. It was a weekly occurrence, the four MSBY Jackals popping over every Saturday for some onigiri before heading out to do whatever they needed to do. By this time, Osamu had already memorized their orders and the time they came in, so the four onigiri sitting behind the counter are already labeled for each member.
“Hey, that new coffee shop is open!” Atsumu’s face is nearly pressed against the glass and Osamu fights the urge to go over and yank his brother away from it, but he remains calm and continues to press the rice in his hands. As if summoned, Bokuto and Hinata join the setter, staring intently at the little cafe across the street.
“Oh! Iwaizumi’s cousin just opened it!” Hinata grins as he whipped out his phone, fingers flying across the screen as he texts someone. Osamu rolls his eyes as the three immediately start whispering amongst themselves and he misses the way Atsumu pauses at Hinata’s rapid fire speech and turns to glance at his twin brother, who is far too invested in making his onigiri. He misses the way a mischievous grin stretches across Atsumu’s face and the way he whispers something to the other two, who are bouncing with excitement. Only Sakusa keeps Osamu company while he works, quietly asking about the new flavour that he’s just recently been promoting. With the two of them caught up in conversation, they don’t see Hinata on the phone with someone, glancing back inconspicuously at Osamu every few seconds. Clearly there is a plan unfolding and poor Osamu Miya was unknowingly at the center of it.
He starts to figure out something is happening when Atsumu brings up the coffee shop for the third time in the past hour. His brother had the day off and decided to spend it by bothering Osamu all day. It isn’t that Osamu hates his brother’s company, but frankly, he’s gotten tired of hearing the same things come out of his mouth every few seconds.
“If you’re so curious about that coffee shop, why don’t you go there yourself!” Osamu scowls, shoving a plate of onigiri in Atsumu’s face. His employees look away at his raised voice and immediately Osamu is regretting the way his voice rose because a few customers glance over at him, rather concerned.
“If you’re not going to be helpful, please see your way out.” He hisses and Atsumu snickers to himself before biting into the onigiri.
“I’m just saying, you should pay them a visit. Take a quick break, you have enough people here to hold up the business for like ten minutes.” There’s a look in Atsumu’s eyes that Osamu doesn’t like. It’s a look that warns of trouble, and yet Osamu can only think that the only reason his brother would send him over is to set him up with the barista who’s apparently Iwaizumi’s cousin.
“You know I’m not interested in anythin’ right?” Osamu gives his brother a look and the setter shrugs before shoving the food back into his mouth. But now that Atsumu mentioned it, he’s become even more curious about the coffee shop. One glance at the clock and Atsumu knows he’s got his brother hooked.
“I’m taking my break.” Osamu mutters to his employees, as he moves towards the back, “Make sure Atsumu doesn’t get anymore onigiri.” His brother lets out a sound of protest but immediately shuts up when Osamu sends him a withering look.
---------
He swears he’s seeing things. It’s clearly the cold that’s making him see things. His hand hovers over the door when he catches sight of who’s working behind the counter. No wonder Atsumu’s been pushing him to visit the coffee shop, because you’re working there. And in a split second, Osamu’s brought back to memories of late night dates in his kitchen, baking pastries and throwing flour at one another. He vividly remembers sharing an umbrella after class, your body pressed against his shoulder while you wait for the bus, teeth chattering and breaths coming out in puffs of white. And worst of all, Osamu clearly remembers the day everything shattered into pieces, the tears that slipped from your eyes and the choked sobs that you tried to hold in. He remembers the way your shoulders shuddered with every shaky breath, and the way he couldn’t look into your eyes when he claimed that he didn’t think the two of you would work when your dreams were taking you to different universities. It was a lie, and Osamu knows that his own cowardice was the reason for it all to break. Though he wishes that you would’ve fought harder, would’ve tried to reason with him more, he can’t help but blame himself. And now you’re just a few steps away, smile on your face as you serve drinks to customers and pull out fresh baked pastries from behind a glass.
He swallows the lump in his throat and pushes the door open, the chime on the door signalling his arrival. You call out a greeting and when Osamu’s eyes meet yours he swears his chest hurts. You do a double take, eyes widening a fraction before turning back to the lady in front of you, ringing up her order with a smile. It takes a bit, and he’s the last one in line, but soon enough, Osamu finds himself standing in front of you nervously.
“What can I get for you?” You sound a bit more different, older, more mature. His finger twitches and he bites his lip to stop himself from asking a million questions.
“Miya-san?” Oh, that hurts. He winces at the formality and murmurs his order and adds another one for Atsumu. He watches the way you still stay smiling as you write his orders on a to-go cup and resists the urge to ask how you’re doing. He hates that he’s thinking so much about it all because it’s been years since he’s seen you, and he knows that he’s moved on, made a life for himself, but here you are again.
“Did you know I was across the street?” He blurts out and you look up with raised brows, hands frozen midair as if you were going to fix your hair. You blink once, twice, eyes flickering past him to the onigiri shop where you see one Miya Atsumu watching, not subtle at all.
“I— yes, I did.” You admit, “My cousin told me about this place. But I didn’t know you were here at the time too!” You added on the last part quickly, heat rising to your cheeks. You would be lying if you said that you weren’t at all affected by seeing Osamu coming into your shop. You were aware that he was just across the street, but it wasn’t as if he knew that you were there as well. To distract yourself from the man standing in front of the counter, you excuse yourself quickly and move to make his drink, ignoring the way your co-worker nudges you and asks about the “cute guy” you were just talking to.
And when you call out Osamu’s name with his coffees in your hand, he seizes the moment he has.
“Can we catch up? Maybe sometime soon, whenever we’re not busy. You don’t have to of course, but I thought that maybe—” Osamu’s rambling and he knows, but that doesn’t stop the words that are pouring out of his mouth.
“Of course!” You’re cutting him off and Osamu silently thanks you for doing so before he embarasses himself even further. “Atsumu actually told me your schedule so you would be free later today?” Osamu wants nothing more than to strangle his brother and then thank him, but he refrains from tossing a distasteful look at Onigiri Miya and agrees to your proposal. And on a Wednesday in a cafe, he watches the two of you begin again.
Across the street, Atsumu is rapidly texting on his phone, a bright grin stretched across his face. When Osamu walks in and places the coffee in front of him, he wiggles his eyebrows and asks his brother about what happened. He’s only drawn back to his phone when he sees Iwaizumi suddenly spamming his phone in texts with all capital letters. And suddenly Atsumu begins to fear for his own life when he realizes he was texting Iwaizumi and not Hinata and now both him and his brother have to fear for their life.

“He keeps staring at you,” Alicia spoke, shooting a sly smile at you as she lifted her firewhisky to her lips.
You glanced around the busy Gryffindor common room, frowning a little in confusion as you wondered who she was talking about, your eyes flickering through the faces of a few Hufflepuffs, a group of Ravenclaws and a couple of Slytherins who were stood in the opposite corner, “Who?”
Alicia’s reply came instantly as she let out an amused scoff, “Who do you think? George, of course!”
And suddenly you felt like you were on fire, your nerves being set alight just from the mere mention of his name, your heart pounding at the idea of the ginger boy noticing you. You instinctively gripped your cup a little tighter, tipping the cool liquid down your throat - your third, possibly fourth, drink so far of the night.
“He’s not staring at me,” you mumbled, chewing on your lip as you played with a strand of your hair, staring down into the half-empty cup, your eyes slightly unfocused.
“How would you know? You’re not facing his direction,” Katie, who had been listening to the conversation, pointed out, nodding her head to somewhere behind you.
You so badly wanted to turn around but decided against it, not wanting to bring more attention to yourself, “I just know. Why would he be staring at me?”
“Because he very clearly fancies you,” Alicia rolled her eyes playfully, “Plus you’re hot, there’s a lot of guys interested in you, I just know you have your eye on the particular redhead sat on the couch over there.”
You wished George fancied you. Why wouldn’t you? He was tall, fit, funny. Freckles dotted across his skin, messy ginger hair that made your heart race.
At the thought of him, you turned in his direction casually, as if you were observing the room, but you didn’t fail to notice the way he was looking you up and down.
“Let’s go get another drink,” Alicia suggested, placing her empty cup to one side. You nodded, walking with her and Katie towards the drinks table, joking about something before Alicia suddenly looked at you, biting her lip.
“Please don’t hate me for this,” she grinned mischievously. “Hate you for what?” You asked, confused.
And before you knew what was happening, Alicia gently bumped into you, the force just strong enough to make you lose your balance in your tipsy daze and fall onto someone’s lap.
You were vaguely aware of Alicia and Katie running off just as strong hands gripped your waist, steadying you on the lap as your eyes widened, your head whipping up to set your gaze upon no other than George Weasley’s shocked yet happily surprised face.
***
“I’m gonna tell her,” George announced determinedly as he stared over in your direction, allowing his eyes to wander down your body, appreciating the outfit you had chosen to wear for the party that evening.
“You’re not gonna tell her,” Fred grinned, downing the last of his drink and dumping the cup on the nearest table. George glanced over at him and crossed his arms over his chest indignantly, “I am!”
“Then here, you’ll need this,” Lee joked as he pushed a full drink into George’s hands. George stared at the clear liquid for a moment before shrugging and downing it in a few seconds, before handing the empty cup back to Lee.
“Right, I’m gonna talk to her,” George said, eyes finding you in the crowd again and admiring the sight of you laughing, his lips curling up into a smile. Fred and Lee looked at each other, waiting for him to stand up or even move, however after a couple of seconds, Fred waved a hand in front of his twin’s face, “Do you think you’re already moving right now or..?”
Receiving no response, Lee prodded George’s shoulder and asked, “What’s wrong?” George looked over to Lee and suddenly grabbed another drink from the table before finishing it off too.
“Right I’m gonna-“
And suddenly, George was interrupted as he felt someone fall onto his lap, his hands moving easily to catch whoever it was, before he realised with a jolt of his heart that it was you on his lap right now.
Later on, he’d remember to comment on how cute your scared face was, and thank Fred and Lee for excusing themselves from the couch, however right in that moment, all he could focus on was the way your body was pressed against his, your face literally inches from his and he couldn’t believe his luck.
”Hello there love, fancy seeing you here,” George grinned at you, squeezing your waist.
“Oh Merlin, I-I’m so sorry George! It was Alicia, she-“ you spluttered out, stuttering slightly over your words.
“Don’t be daft, darling, no need to be sorry. Not everyday a beautiful girl falls literally straight into my lap,” George replied cheekily, pulling you further onto his lap as he sat up slightly. You felt your cheeks warm as you smiled, ducking your head down before looking back up at him, “So um...”
“So, what brings you to my part of the common room?”
“Well, I was supposed to be getting another drink but I guess I fell into a cute guy’s lap before I made it to the table,” you replied, before your eyes widened as you realised what you’d said.
“Cute, huh?” George grinned wide, his eyes glinting mischievously. “Um well I didn’t mean- I mean you’re not exactly not cute I suppose...” You stuttered, trying to cover up what you had just admitted to him.
“Don’t go backtracking now, darling! I want to know more about how cute you find me. How dashing, how devastatingly handsome,” he smirked, squeezing your waist again.
“Don’t put words into my mouth,” you pouted playfully. “I am devastatingly handsome though,” he boasted, dramatically flicking a hand through his hair.
You rolled your eyes at him, a smile tugging at your lips. “You played really well in the match today,” you changed the subject before he could tease you any more.
George grinned again, “Oh you noticed?”
“Kinda hard not to notice, considering you and Fred stole the show with how many times you hit those bludgers away,” you replied, tucking your hair behind your ear as you shifted slightly in his lap.
“Seems like you were very focused on me,” he said confidently, wiggling his eyebrows at you. You scoffed out a laugh, “I said you and Fred, don’t get cocky!”
“We all know you just mean me though. Wonder what it was like for you, watching me and my rippling biceps working hard. Bet you enjoyed the view, right?” He teased, his eyes flickering back and forth between your eyes and your lips.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” you shook your head but couldn’t help smiling as your hands absent-mindedly fell to rest on said rippling biceps.
“That wasn’t a no,” George commented and suddenly he was slowly closing the tiny gap between you, his lips just barely brushing against yours a couple of times before he moved away slightly, resting his forehead against yours, “I um- I want our first kiss to be somewhere romantic, you know? Maybe with candles, or in Hogsmeade after I finally got the courage to ask you out. I have it all planned out.”
Despite his words, you noticed his head tilting up, his lips inching towards yours, his eyes flickering again back from looking into yours and down to your lips. His tongue darted out to glide across his bottom lip as his hands moved from your waist down to grip your hips.
“You sure we can’t just kiss right here? Because... you kinda look like you wanna kiss me,” you whispered into his ear, your chest pressing against his as you leant forward.
George shifted, his breath catching in his throat as he caught the mischievous glint in your eye. The corner of his mouth curled up into a half smirk.
“Fuck it,” he breathed out.
He pressed his lips to yours properly, kissing you like it was the last thing he’d ever do. His hands ran up your back, holding you close to his chest as he licked into your mouth, your own hands running through his hair, tugging gently at the strands at the back of his neck, making him let out a small groan.
He cupped your jaw, deepening the kiss as he pulled you further onto him, your thighs now straddling his waist as he trailed kisses down towards your neck.
“I reckon you’re glad you fell for me then, right?” George’s breaths hit your neck as he moved to look up into your eyes. You smiled at him, lips swollen and hair messy from his hands raking through it,
“I guess you could say that.”

Our adorable little junior (Yandere Vice dorm heads x reader)
The dorm heads aren't open to compromise as much as the vice dorm heads who are more civil. Surprisingly I can't find any yandere fics with all the vice dorm heads simping for one darling. Despite them being more scary, manipulative, and having more husband material.
I thank @writer-akihiko for the inspiration I had in the middle of the night to bring you this.
Color coded speaking habits are based off dorm colors and what tumblr had, so keep that in mind.
💝💗HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY 💗 💝
It all started with you wobbling through the courtyard only to bump into someone. They held on to your shoulders to keep you from falling to the floor immediately.
"Woah there! Y/n? What's up with you? You were weaving back and forth through the courtyardwith every step. Your not sick are you?" A slightly worried or rather maybe that was in your head to call it slight, maybe that was a illusion in your mixed up head.
You looked up to see a tuft of green hair with a pair of glasses that reflected golden eyes, and an unmistakable clover on his cheek.
"Ah Trey, no I was just studying for magical history a bit too late last night and now I'm --" Has Trey always felt this warm and soft? What ever the case it made him the perfect pillow as you slumped over toward him, which startled him for a second before he heard your soft snores and he let out a breath he didn't know he was holding.
"Geez don't scare me like that, it's rather worrisome that you'd fall asleep like that out of nowhere." He held her up a bit more to have her leaning on him as support. He was able to see the calm sleeping expression you had on your face.
"Still so naive though, if it was any other guy how do you think they'd react to such a vulnerable girl in this situation." He had a faint blush on his cheeks as he pushed up his glasses and made his way to Heartsbyul with you in tow before lunch would be over.
Thankfully he made a few sweets yesterday giving you one would give you a bit more energy not to mention the look on your face that would light up would be worth it.
The next day Rook had approached you after classes. Before you could say any sort of greeting he dragged you off to Pomeifore without providing an explanation. When you both arrived tea was already made for some reason, and small treats like macaroons were set in the lounge.
"Mon chérie I heard from Rose Chevalier that your in need of some assistance in magical history, I could be of aid to you." She contemplated his words, wondering who he was talking about before immediately assumed Trey. That made sense as they were both in the science club.
The offer he made did sound very tempting, she needed as much help as she could get.
"Yes please I'll be in your care Rook-senpai!" That short phrase did send a few butterflies in his stomach.
She was just as cute as when she slept at night. He did take a few pictures without your knowledge and managed to distribute them out to the others but there were these other expressions he saved in his head that were exclusive for him to see.
The radiant smile and look of triumph you showed toward him when you understood the concept he told you about. It was much more lively, he couldn't choose what he liked more the vibrancy of your smile or the vulnerability of your sleeping expression. Either were just fine afterall you were such beautiful person one that could do anything and would still have shown its beauty in his eyes.
That ended another day for you.
The next had you struck with some bad luck. As your pocket had gained a hole in it. Whatever money you had for lunch had been lost too. If you traveled back to your dorm all the good stuff would be gone, but it would be better than starving so you left the cafeteria. On the way in the halls you saw Jade who inquired where you were off to when lunch just started.
You told him your dilemma and he told you to follow him. After walking all the way to Octanivelle in silence and entering the Mostro Lounge you thought if he was going to try and convince you to sign a contract, but he only asked you to sit at a booth and wait for him.
20 minutes into lunch and he came back with some food for you both.
"Ah, Jade you didn't have to do that! I can pay you back just tell me the cost and I'll-" He leaned over a little bit and held a finger to your lips with a closed eyed smile on his face.
"It's fine, why not enjoy the meal? I made it with your tastebuds in mind. Afterwards preferably after class I can sew up the hole you mentioned." He removed his finger, but it didn't stop your face from heating up and turning red to the tips of your ears.
The reaction was cute in Jade's eyes seeing you nod obediently and take bites of the food he made with an embarrassed expression. It was all too entertaining for him, such entertainment made his heart rate accelerate rapidly and he'd keep sneaking glances while he ate himself. For it was always wonderful to bask in your presence.
Yet another day came to an end and another began. It was on this day that you didn't have to worry about lunch either. Jamil handed to you a bento box. You thanked him with a big smile on your face.
Your bright smile radiated so much energy, it looked like you genuinely appreciated his effort he put into making this. Such a smile made him pull down his hoodie a bit more to hide his blush taking over his face.
"It's not anything impressive, but since you like it just ask and I'll have lunch prepared for us everyday. It's no trouble." For you was what he meant to say. If it meant seeing such an expression again it certainly would be well worth the effort.
"Thank you Jamil! Kalim always says your food is the best I can't wait to try it!" That caught him off guard, hearing his own heart pound and feeling his face rise in temperature he thanked the great seven he wore a hoodie.
He put it over his face and waved it off saying the same response he'd have for everyone else downplaying his own capabilities, but she eagerly denied it causing even more embarrassment on his part. God another thing Jamil couldn't stand about Kalim was when he ran his mouth.
* * *
That very same day that started with luck had dropped significantly and took an opposite turn to bad. The misfortune of bumping into a few Savanclaw students whom find simple reasons to get angry whether they started it or not.
Luckily before they could throw a punch they suddenly started fighting each other for some reason. From their conversation it didn't sound like they were in control of their bodies in the first place. As soon as it started they suddenly stopped and ran off with anger for one another after embarrassing themselves.
A voice came from behind her that startled her for a split second before she recognized it.
"You've got to be more careful, Savanclaw is the dorm to avoid picking a fight with, Y/n." Ruggie came from around the corner twisting his magical pen in between his fingertips before placing it in his pocket.
Before Ruggie could chastise his junior a bit more she ran up and hugged him.
"Thank you Ruggie! If there's anything you need then I'm at your service!" He didn't hug back. For one is was abrupt and when his mind actually processed feeling your warmth radiating off you on to him, his face flared up.
His ears twitched and he tried to occupy his mind with some other thought to preoccupy which only led him to recall your words.
'Anything? Doesn't she know that prey like her shouldn't just say whatever.' He wasn't denying the fact that the offer sounded so sweetly tempting to take her up on, but with the others taking their chances with you and him low on the food chain out of the five others he knew the risk wasn't worth it.
"No it's fine just watch yourself next time. I may not be here to help all the time."
How many times had a student helped you now?
The next morning Lilia had joined you.
The thing is while Lilia was regailing an enchanting tale of his past it kept you occupied in not noticing the five other pairs of eyes that had set themselves on watching mainly you. Whether it was them keeping an eye on their dorm heads, or on their way to their own class they kept their eyes trained for as long as they could before she left their sight.
Lilia had heard the details from Ruggie and out of all the vice heads he was the most free as the others were commanded to do things by their dorm heads or were their unofficial babysitters. Lilia of course was the strongest and most capable by far out of all six of them. So he had jumped at the chance of being able to brighten up your day with many of his travel stories.
Seemed like you were spending more time with the vice prefects more than usual. Though Savanaclaw had none Ruggie was pretty much the unofficial for it.
They were reliable, more so than their dorm heads at times, that could be said for mainly Jamil, Ruggie, and Lilia. But some had proved their skills far exceeded their position and it was known to other dorms as well, like Jade, Rook, and Trey.
But with all these people who adore one so much to the point of doing anything for her, it had to go bad at some point. Obsession festers for many reasons, like worry, denial, or paranoia.
In this case its deemed worry.
The very next day you were offering sweets you made yourself to the six of them to thank them for their aid the past couple of days. They were all so happy, nothing would damper their mood for the rest of day, knowing you appreciated how much effort they put in for you. Well of course it didn't last long it didn't matter who you went to see last, mainly either Jade or Jamil, or Rook too. They were the type to pay attention to the little things. Though this time they were a bit preoccupied with their own deeds. You had found Jamil last as you assumed he'd be busy with Kalim the majority of the day. He was in the kitchen as usual fixing tomorrow's lunch for Kalim and him, and her too.
He was happy to accept the treat until he noticed how you looked. You looked like you were spent. He noticed your smile, one they adored to the point of insanity looked forced. Not to mention it looked like you were wearing make up under your eyes, in which he assumed you were tired and had to hide your eye bags.
He tried to tap you on your forearm before you could go and leave, but when you froze and winced with a petrified look, that's when he began to notice something had been wrong than what he already had imagined. He was worried seeing as the state of your expression was slight fear, but it didn't look to be of him.
When he asked her to tell him what's wrong, you asked to first be brought in private to hear the dilemma. He decided his room would be best seeing as the desert of Scarabia at night got cold.
When they both entered she immediately broke down. Usually she always seemed so positive but this was the complete opposite. He tried comforting and coaxing you into telling him what happened, so he could eventually inform the others in their group chat and eventually you did. Though it made whatever self restraint he had held back within his life snap.
You told him of how yesterday a student came up and flirted with you. You politely disregarded him, but the student didn't get the memo. He had gripped your arm tight enough to cause a bruise. That's when you kneed him in his gut and once he let go, used your leg to make his head hit the floor with a blow to the neck, successfully knocking him unconscious. You ran back to your room after that without looking back. Then you thought back to all the good deeds recently the vice heads had done, and decided you'd haven't been showing enough appreciation toward them. That's why you gave him and the others treats.
He also interpreted that he had touched you where the bruise was located and given you slight PTSD in which he apologized for his earlier actions. You probably didn't get much sleep either. You told him it was fine since he was just trying to figure out what was wrong and that you were just caught off guard. No soon after you finished your statement did he ask to see the bruise in which you received.
Slowly you took off your blazer and uncovered the bandages located where your elbow was on the inner part where the skin was softer and bone was located. That made his heart stop to see the bruise you obtained. His thoughts ran rampant with the thought of what he would do to the person who did it. Surprisingly he was never usually angry for someone else's sake but you had made it that way.
He had to put on a front for you though and he told you to stay while he got a pack of ice to ease the swelling. While away walking through the halls of his dorm he was seething with rage. One would think if someone touched him it would be the end of that person's life when he released such anger.
He started to text in the chat where all the vice dorm heads would inform each other of their encounters and Y/n's problems to find solutions. He told them to gather in Scarabia at the fountain for an urgent situation pertaining to their favorite little junior on his phone, though he would have informed them through the chat, he was more focused on getting the ice pack. They agreed to meet up in said dorm that their junior was currently in to hear the details from him himself.
When he had finally made it back to his room he found the person of their obsession in question asleep on his bed with their blazer still in the same spot and legs dangling off the bed as to not have her shoes touch the covers. Hugging his hoodie as a pillow of sorts. He would have savored this sight if not for the tear streaks that were on your face and the prominent bruise in the same spot.
He gently placed the ice pack on her arm and brushed away the stray tears and streaks with his thumb. The sight was normal for him considering Rook had distributed sleeping pictures to all of them. This was realer than any picture though. Soft breaths rhythmic breaths and silky hair like an angel.Despite that you looked to be uncomfortable seeing as the arm you were using had to replace the other one that was bruised and probably hurt to bend. He softly sighed knowing he had to get ready as the others would arrive soon and that the situation would not be pretty for the misfortune planned that ignorant person who dared lay a finger on their favorite junior would receive.
When everyone had arrived in the meeting dorm all had sour moods to be called a bit late after set curfews in two of the dorms or just the time taking away from their leisure after taking care of tasks that came with their position.
"It seems we're all gathered here now, Monsieur Multi-Compétent why have you called us here in the late hours?" Rook had a smile on his face which was normal but he was intrigued and serious about the matter at hand.
"You mentioned it's urgent regarding to our little angelfish correct?" Jade as well had his usual smile, but the slightest glimpse in his eyes had a rather invited gaze.
"You sure you couldn't have just texted it to us, it woulda saved us the trouble of coming here." Ruggie grumbled.
"I know you all are busy, but tell me did you notice something off about her today?" Jamil inquired to the other five.
"Now that you mention it when she gave me the treats she made it seemed like she was off. I was focusing on some tasks Riddle gave me so I didn't think too much of it." Trey had thought back to hearing her call out to him in a lower tone of voice.
"She didn't seem too energetic either when she gave me mine either. Sebek was a bit of a handful so I couldn't pay attention as much as I liked to her and she said she had to go give out the others." Lilia remembers asking her to stay for a little longer but she put up a facade and said she had other things to do.
The others agreed on the same notion that today she lacked her usual energetic, positive, behavior. Since their dorm heads and first years put them through the wringer today they didn't have time to think much on it. Jamil was used to dealing with Kalim's mayhem and chaos since they were children and had learned to still be skeptic even if he was exhausted or at his wit's end.
"Exactly, seems as though someone laid their dirty fingers on her the day prior and now she's a bit broken down mentally." Jamil had informed them of the situation, fully going into depth and detail seeing their facial expressions change throughout the retelling.
"Right, now I know you all want to see her, I can do that but you've gotta be quiet. She fell asleep in my room because she wanted to talk in private. She and other dorm residents are asleep so try to keep noise to a minimum."
They all had no reservations about that. He guided them to his room in which he did have some irritation toward letting them in. Thankfully he hid the picture Rook gave him so she wouldn't see it unless she looked. Slowly opening the door to see the sleeping girl, they surrounded her unsuspecting figure. They examined her for a moment taking in the sight before noticing the tear streaks on her face and the ice pack placed near her elbow.
Seeing the ice pack on her arm Rook steadily removed it to give the others a glimpse of the injury. Some of them froze while others who usually weren't so expressive of true feelings like Lilia, Trey, and Jamil had a look of anger. The ones who were more prone to dirty methods and violence like Ruggie, Jade and Rook had a look of bloodlust for the person who dared to do such a thing, despite Jamil having already saw it.
They all exited the room and ventured to the common room, closer to the outside section.
"Such a poor unfortunate soul, he doesn't even know the enemies he made."
"How foolish of them to touch something that's ours."
"Oh Rose Chevalier, you've been rather silent, no objection to such acts?"
"Don't get me wrong I'm angry, Rook. It's not as if I can stop you all from doing something horrible to some idiot. Fights happen all the time at this school."
"I'm sure I could find the idiot in no time, it's much easier to catch unsuspecting prey!"
"Since you all have your 'plans' I'll go and make a potion to rid her of that unsightly injury that foo-, I mean so she won't have to feel anymore pain."
"Since that's all finished what do you all suppose we do about her?"
"We've got to keep a better eye on her."
"Yes that much is clear, but with all of us having to be so busy all at once, going about that is rather difficult."
"Especially since she's a lot more frail, if the student were a beastmen then she probably wouldn't have gotten away."
"I propose we reveal ourselves to our angelfish. She may not like it at first, but it's clear that unless we know where she is at all times then we can't ensure her safety."
"Whose dorm is best suited to keep her there?"
"I was going to offer up my own, I'm sure your dorm heads would condemn our act of unsavory deeds, but Azul is different of course. Just let me handle all the details."
"As expected of Monsieur Mastermind, fully equipped to handle the situation."
"While that is going on, Ruggie how about you bring that cretin to Diasomnia, I'd love to have a chat with him. Don't worry I'll make sure no one is nearby to hear his fate."
"Ah, okay. Better than bringing him to my dorm and having to clean up a mess."
"Oh how about you let me in on your conversation, Monsieur Curieux, and I'll bring a few things to aid in the clean up Monsieur Dandelion!"
"Trey I need a favor."
"Depends on what the favor is?"
"I heard you can change the taste of something with your unique magic. Can you cast a spell on the potion before she drinks it? She's already suffered enough a disgusting potion is an easy fix."
"That's nothing, too complicated. Hand it over to me when it's finished once it's done."
* * *
Screams could be heard within the bounds far away from Diasomnia. Near the edge of a cliff stood three people while another person was on the ground. Burned, bruised, and battered not to mention a few broken bones, and loss of some organs devoured. They were proud of what they did to say the least.
Ruggie had the most blood on him mainly around his mouth while Lilia had some on his hands, Rook had a blade coated in it and still managed to get some on him. The lifeless corpse on the ground was where the blood had originated from as they tossed it off the cliff.
Lilia had cast green flames in order to rid the evidence. It was easy for Rook to cast a spell to clean their clothes with. Now they just have to go meet up with the others.
* * *
Based off the decorum of the room, she could only assume she was in Octanivelle. That's where she had woken up, but she remembers Scarabia last. Soft covers on top of her were thrown off as she hurriedly looked around the room to see no one.
She tried to go toward the door and twist the knob only for it to not budge. Using magic as well didn't move the door an inch. Her pen was gone too, so she was limited without its usage. Not to mention first years only knew so much less you came from a country where magic usage was prominent like the Valley of Thorns then it was likely you weren't to know much before entering school.
She sighed and took a moment to sit back down on the bed she woke up on and think why she was brought here. The last person she saw was Jamil, and she was in his room last but that didn't spark anything as to how she ended up here. She hoped at least that Jamil was okay if she was here by force then he might have tried to stop the captors and got hurt in the process.
The door opened after about an hour she heard the key being inserted. It revealed Jade who stepped in the room with a smile and revealed five others who came in with Lilia slowly shutting the door back closed.
All of them she recognized were Vice dorm heads who she had spent time with the past couple of days. She didn't open her mouth yet still trying to piece things together, and the first to come to mind was that they brought her here. Connecting the dots over the past several days she spent time with them more than anyone, and they each seemed to know her problems or were curious about them.
She just couldn't understand why though. Nothing added up and when she glanced at each of them a nervous shiver came through her body.
She finally decided to speak.
"Why, .......... would you do something like this?
"Because prey like you, has to be protected."
"Such a sweet thing could easily be devoured."
"That's why your such delicate and fragile flower."
"Precious and meant to be protected like the most valuable treasure."
"Mon amour we do commend you for defending yourself but fret not,"
"Our dear little angelfish we'll fix all your problems so that you have no worries."

— YOUR throat felt scratchy as you rolled onto your back on your make-shift bed on the floor. It took multiple attempts for you to try and fall asleep, yet you had been unsuccessful.
You had been at The Right Arm for about a week now, and the recent events that had played out had taken it’s affect on everyone. Minho being captured by WCKD and Teresa betraying the whole group. Thomas was quick to plan our next move while also trying to hide how he truly felt about being betrayed by the girl he liked. His plan being to rescue Minho, keeping the promise he had made to him.
The rest of us agreed with Thomas, knowing we’d follow him anywhere.
However, we needed time to recover; to patch ourselves up and prepare for the long road ahead. It was exhausting with our future constantly being unknown. But as long as we all had each other, we were stronger than ever. The air was cold at The Right Arm, especially at night. You started to feel uncomfortable, so you sat up, leaning over the edge of the bed. Sighing heavily, you rubbed both of your hands over your face. Your eyes scanned the concrete room out of habit, glancing over your friends as they slept. Thomas, Frypan, Aris, Brenda, Jorge.
Yet your glance suddenly halted over Newt’s bed that was across the room. You knew he wouldn’t have gone far, but given everything that has happened, you couldn’t help but worry. Thinking about it even more, you weren’t even sure that you had actually seen him come to bed at all. Furrowing your eyebrows, you bent down to pull your boots on and quickly tie the laces. You were dressed in black cargo pants and white tank top. Due to the crisp air, you decided that it would be wise to tug a long sleeve shirt on over your singlet before you left.
I need some water, you thought.
The dry feeling in the very back of your throat was starting to intensify and become unbearable.
Rising to your feet, you made your way over to the open door, being cautious not to wake any of the others up. You made your way outside, noticing how the air was slightly cooler outside rather than inside that boxed room. You continue to stroll over to the outdoor kitchens, rubbing your temples in order to relieve your stress. You reached the kitchen in a matter of seconds. After you jumped the counter, you bent down to retrieve a bottle of water from one of the various crates that were littered all around the place. You jumped back over the counter once you had found one, landing back onto your feet with a thud.
Wasting no time, you twisted the cap off the plastic bottle and tipped the bottle up to your lips to take a much-needed swig of water. You willingly continued to chug the water, letting your thoughts silence for a while.
“What are you doing up, love?” A sudden voice startled you, coming from some direction behind you.
Through a mouthful of water, you screamed. Yet it sounded like a high pitched squeal. You knew who the voice belonged to, you could pick his voice up out of a line-up. However, it still managed to catch you off-guard quite easily. You turned around with wide eyes, catching a glimpse of the British blonde boy you had become close to over the years.
“Shit, Y/N! I’m so sorry!” Newt sympathized, jogging up to you and rubbing small circles into the center of your back.
His touch instantly made your skin crawl in ecstasy. And despite the warmth that you could feel radiating off his body, this simple action made goosebumps rise on your skin. You couldn’t get enough of this guy, and even if you didn’t want to admit it to yourself, your body always said otherwise. You craved him.
The eye contact was short-lived. You quickly spun back around, spitting the mouthful water out before it had the chance to get caught in the back of your throat.
“Newt! What the hell, you shank!” You exclaimed, wiping the back of your hand over your lips. You tried your best to stifle the coughs that threatened to leave your mouth. A frown was evident on Newt’s face as you lifted your gaze to make proper eye contact with him.
“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry,” He repeated a few times, and you could still feel the motion of his hand over your back.
You couldn’t stop yourself from letting out a giggle once your throat was cleared, playfully slapping Newt’s chest with your free hand in the process.
“Don’t scare me like that!” You teased, your voice raising slightly as you smiled.
Newt also let out a laugh at your actions. He raised his arms, trying to shield his chest from your hand, “Ow! Y/N, okay! I won’t do that again.”
His reaction was sweet, and you couldn’t help but flash a toothy grin towards him as he stood across from you. You lowered your hand as the air around the two of you fell silent. Newt peered over at you, his eyes scanning over your body before running a hand through his own hair.
“Are you okay?” He asked, keeping a small distance between the two of you.
You leaned against the counter behind you, screwing the cap back onto your water bottle as you nodded in response, “Yeah, just couldn’t sleep. I was thirsty.”
Newt nodded, shifting his weight off of his bad leg.
“What are you doing up? I noticed you weren’t in bed when I got up.” You were quick to add, curiosity getting the better of you.
You watched as Newt simply shrugged his shoulders, he took a deep breath in before speaking, “I just went for a walk, wanted to think about things.”
You crossed your arms over your chest as you continued to lean against the counter. You looked over at him quizzically, “Is everything alright?”
“Yeah,” Newt answered with a soft expression, “I just-I haven’t been able to get my mind to settle since that night.”
The night where Teresa betrayed us all. And most importantly, the night that Minho was captured. It’s been beyond difficult; going from seeing him everyday to him suddenly being snatched out from underneath us all.
“Me neither,” You whispered, glancing down at the ground.
Newt bit his lip, beginning to rock back and forth on his feet, “Hey, would you mind staying up with me? Just for a little while? I just-I really don’t want to go back to bed yet and, I’m gonna be honest, I really don’t want to be alone.”
His words made your heart flutter as you suddenly saw this vulnerable side to Newt that you hadn’t seen in very long time. You wanted to take care of him. You wanted to offer him some comfort, even if it felt like the world you all currently lived in was falling apart. He had always been there for you over the years, and now it was your turn.
“Yeah,” You breathed out, smiling gently towards him, “Of course I will.”
Newt nodded his head in appreciation, flashing you a quick smile. But soon, you noticed just how much everything that had happened was affecting him. Because as Newt kept nodding, you could see the glow of tears that has started to form in his eyes. The moonlight made his brown orbs look darker. He didn’t try and move his hands to wipe them away, he just kept them tucked into the pockets of his pants. As the tears escaped the barrier of his eyes, he scoffed sadly as they freely fell down the apples his cheeks.
You tilted your head to the side in response, noticing how he refused to make eye contact with you. You had only ever seen Newt cry once, way back in The Glade days.
“Oh darling,” You whispered, taking a few steps towards him. You shuffled closer until you were standing right in front of him. He still hadn’t moved a muscle, his eyes were glued to the floor but the tears kept coming. He was silent.
You reached out slowly, feeling relieved as he let you cup his cheek in your hand, you thumb moving in small and soothing strokes against his skin.
“Hey,” you whispered again, not wanting to be too loud, “I’m right here.”
Newt slowly began to cave and soon you felt him lean into your touch. He lifted his bloodshot eyes to look into yours but soon ended up closing them. He turned his head slightly to the side to place a small kiss into the palm of your hand that still cupped his cheek.
Tears slid down his face more rapidly this time as he squeezed his eyes shut. You just wanted to hold him, and so you did. You stood on your tip-toes, leaning up and wrapping your arms securely around his neck; pulling him into an embrace. He stepped into your embrace willingly, responding graciously by wrapping his arms tightly around your waist and burying his face into the crook of your neck. You could feel the distinct feeling of his breath hitting your shoulder; serving as a reminder that, in this moment, you had him safe in your arms.
                      ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
The two you had been talking for what seemed like hours. Here, the two of you sat; side by side, in the moonlight, leaning back against a rock. The whole time, Newt had been tracing patterns into the dirt beneath you while he opened up about what has been going on in his head.
The air around you fell silent once again after a few more minutes of chatter.
The sudden sharp sound of Newt breaking the stick in half that he was using to trace patterns into the sand rippled through your ears. You observed him quietly as he disposed of them, throwing the two pieces a few feet ahead of where the two of you sat.
“Hey thanks, for being there for me,” Newt spoke up, rubbing his palms together before continuing, “For always being there actually. You’ve never let me down. Always keeping me stable.”
You turned to gaze at him, grinning from ear to ear, “I’m always gonna be there for you, Newt. You mean a lot to me.”
For the first time in a while that night, a smile formed across Newt’s lips in reaction to your words. A small chuckle erupted from him as he turned his head to look into your eyes, “I’m glad we both feel the same way about each other then.”
Silence washed over you as the pair of you continued to hold an almost intense glance with one another. Yes, it was intense. But there was something else about it. A sense of longing, a yearning desire. Both of you could feel it.
Soon you found Newt furrowing his eyebrows, breaking your gaze to look down at the ground.
“Are you scared?” He questions out of the blue, glancing back into your eyes, “Of the future and what’s to come.”
You sighed heavily, taking a short moment to think hard about the question you had been given.
In the end, you nodded, beginning to twiddle your thumbs, “Yeah, I think I am. I’m scared of what could happen. I’m scared of losing more of my friends. I worry that we might not ever have a home. I’m scared whether we’re going to find Minho or not. I think I’ve been scared this whole time, I’ve just never realized it until now; after all we’ve been through.”
As you were talking, Newt’s hand had found it’s way to yours, lacing his fingers with your own in a shy kind of manner. You squeezed his hand gently in response before finishing, “I’m scared of being alone in this crazy and insane world we’ve found ourselves in. I’m scared of losing you and having to go on by myself. Apart from the others, you’re all that I have left. And I don’t ever want to lose you. Ever.”
A sudden wave a nervousness came over you as you had just realized how much you had admitted to the boy next to you. Just how much was there, out in the open, awaiting his response. His fingers were in yours with one hand, and you soon felt his other hand reach over to lightly trace patterns into the back of your palm that was exposed. You could now feel his touch on either side of your hand, and the very feeling heightened your senses.
Finally he turned to look at you, meeting your eyes in a way that you had never noticed before. It was love. And that was the moment when the two of you noticed just how deep you had fallen for each other.
“Look, I don’t know who I was before the maze, none of us do, right?” Newt states, watching you as you nod in agreement, urging him to continue, “But I’m so glad I’ve been able to become the person that I am with you. I’m so glad you have been able to make me experience and feel things again. You bring out different parts of me that I never knew existed. This life is the only one I’ll ever remember, and the fact that you’ve been and will be apart of it just-it just makes me feel....happy. Like, really happy. It makes me want to work for our future. A reason to keep going.”
His words were like music to your ears. It’s like a surge of electricity went through you as you sat in awe. Now knowing you could continue on this crazy journey with your friends and Newt by your side, being more than a friend to you. A lover, a companion; it meant everything.
“You’ve made me feel things the whole bloody time I’ve known you,” He finishes, letting out a breath he hadn’t quite realized he had been holding in.
His shoulders rose and fell with each shuddered breath he now took. He was surprised beyond belief when you giggled, slipping your hand away from his grasp to situate yourself in his lap; straddling him with your legs either side of him. Nervously, Newt lifted his hands to rest on your hips, glancing up at you as his breath hitched in the back of his throat.
You grinned, staring down at him as your bit the inside of your cheek, admiring how attractive and handsome he was. Placing your hands gently on the sides of his head, you saw Newt close his eyes momentarily as you ran your fingers through the hair at the nape of his neck, “I’m so in love with you, Newt.”
The corner of Newt’s mouth tugged up into a smirk as he soon relaxed underneath you. The butterflies that were going around in the pit of his stomach were almost too much for him to handle. He continued to stare up at you for a few moments, making you chuckle as he continued to smirk.
“What are you thinking, huh?” You asked, your hands lowering to rub comfortingly over his chest through the material of his brown long sleeved shirt.
“I feel,” Newt ushered, pulling your body even closer by moving his hands from your hips, all the way around to your shoulder blades, his hands not once breaking contact with your warm skin, “....like I wanna do this:”
He leans forward, pressing a chaste kiss to your right cheek. Almost as soon as his lips meet your skin he’s pulling back, doing the same to your left cheek. You instantly crave his touch, his lips. Newt could almost sense your eagerness, so he continued.
“Right here,” He whispered as he hovered his lips over your own, “Is that okay?”
You were stunned. It’s like you had momentarily lost the ability to speak. Not trusting your voice, you held his gaze for a few moments longer before nodding, giving him permission to finally kiss you after all these years. The kiss was slow and sensual. Newt didn’t want to slip up or make a mistake. This was the first kiss he’s ever had; well, from what he could remember anyway. But he wouldn’t want to kiss anyone else but you. You were all he ever wanted, for the rest of his life. He knows that for sure.
He’s the first to pull back gently, delicately pecking your puffy lips once more while keeping his arms firmly wrapped around you. Before pulling him back in for another kiss, you heard him whisper against your skin, “You’re all that I have too, and I promise that I’m never letting you go.”

Hi I just read you’re tsukishima story and it was so cute omg but I have an idea
Let’s say y/n has a huge crush on tsukishima since they were children right. But tsukishima never rlly liked y/n in that way. So he would always like be kinda aggressive but like not in the physical way, like he would be cold to her whenever y/n would constantly say something abt them dating. In reality he did like her but he didn’t realize it. Then suddenly a new guy shows up, he’s like really handsome and he’s in a small band, he plays the bass. Y/n actually listens to that band and she was so excited so the two of them click really easy, that’s when she starts being distant with tsukishima and stops the talks abt them dating, tsukishima starts to miss everything y/n would say to him and he wanted to get y/n back, but when he tries he sees y/n and the guy sharing a peck 😔‼️ sorry if this was longgggg ugh
a/n: ahhh! I’m glad you thought so, haha! don’t worry about the length, specifics are always welcome! <3 this is a really good idea! i think it ended up on the longer side, but yk, more content is good? i also ended up naming him, so it’s easier to refer to him. i keep holding on to highschool settings i’m sorry LMAO- i haven’t finished season 4 and i’m not reading the manga yet :( but anyways, here’s a bit of angst/unrequited love to balance out my recent fluff posts !
asks/requests: open !

warnings?: some angst/unrequited love
worth a try.
- TSUKISHIMA KEI -
growing up with tsukishima had been a whirlwind of experiences. ever since you had moved and transferred to his school the last year of primary school, you’d been drawn to him. the tall, blonde kid with glasses. you found his pride in volleyball admirable, and you even found him to be so much cooler than you ever would be.
you originally didn’t know anybody when you first moved, but you fit right in with both tsukishima and his own friend. it was a strange combination, but it worked somehow. while tsukishima was rude, and yamaguchi timid, you were loud and energetic. you were lively. you challenged him just for the fun of it, you poked and prodded, just having fun being around him.
you were his self-declared best friend.
looking back on it, you probably always had feelings for tsukishima. back in those days when you tried to get into volleyball yourself. wanting to be like him, you tried your best, but you weren’t all that good. he would make fun of you for it, but you weren’t bothered by settling for being supportive of him and your freckled friend. You were just as passionate as they were about it.
you were even there when that passion jaded. watched as he stared at his brother from across the game.
it was when you started junior high, that you came to the conclusion that you were in love with your friend. but unlike most people, you did nothing to hide it. why would you? you were always open, always honest and straight to the point. you just weren’t one to hide that.
“go out with me, tsukki!” you poked his side with a cheeky grin, your eyes bright. your friend wasted no time in rejecting you.
“no.”
“aw, you sure?”
“i would never date somebody so stupidly annoying.” you shook off the blatant insult, laughing instead with your hand on your neck. a small thing you picked up from your other friend. yamaguchi.
“you’ll come around one day!”
“i doubt that.”
it went on like that all throughout your remaining years until high school. a constant back and forth that became a schedule at that point.
it was decided that tsukishima would be going to karasuno, as would yamaguchi. and so would you. you would go where they go, you’d never thought about leaving them both. you’d stay with them as long as possible, holding on to their friendship like it was your lifeline..
and holding onto tsukishima even more so.
you were there with them on the first day, when they joined volleyball club. that first practice match against aoba johsai.
you weren’t always watching their practices, since you had your own club duties to attend to of course. but you always made sure to stop by the clubroom while the boys were getting ready, just to say hi to everyone and to a certain someone.
“hey, hey!” you poked your head from around the door, waving a hand. the team greeted you cheerfully enough, minus tsukishima. who looked annoyed to no end.
“tsukki, wanna go grab something to eat after your practice? i know a really great spot!”
he didn’t even look at you, only giving you the middle finger.
you laughed, shrugging. “worth a try.”
the first time the team had witnessed your very forward approach to asking the extremely salty and crude boy out, they were surprised. the way he turned you down so effortlessly too, threw them off. the added shock of anybody even liking him was the cherry on top.
“is this normal?” sugawara asked, a chuckle falling from his lips. asahi was beside him, sweatdropping at the sight of your affectionate display, and tsukishima’s obvious lack of reciprocation.
yamaguchi smiled awkwardly, nodding. “well- yeah, actually. It’s been happening for years.”
“i’d kill to have somebody all over me like that! lucky bastard!” tanaka held his fist up dramatically, as if clenching his heart in it. he even had a tear in the corner of his eye.
“well then, i’ll be on my way! good practice, everyone!” you chirped, finally leaving them.
“l/n’s got some serious determination.” tanaka whistled.
“misplaced determination. they won’t shut up about dating, it’s annoying.” tsukishima didn’t sound as impressed as his loud senpai was.
yamaguchi tilted his head to the side. “really? i would’ve thought tha-”
“shut up.”
a small laugh. “sorry, tsukki.”
it would forever continue, it seemed like. you never thought you’d give it up, you always knew that you liked tsukishima. your heart would pound, your stomach would feel fluttery. but even though you’ve been with him since you were children, it didn’t seem like he’d grown to feel the same. it would get you down sometimes, his mean and harsh words whenever you’d bring it up. either casually, or intentionally.
you couldn’t help being so hopelessly whipped!
you were walking down the sidewalk with yamaguchi and tsukishima, humming along to a new song that had been dropped recently. you were so into it, strumming your fingers like you were the one playing in the recording. tsukishima watched you with critical eyes, but yamaguchi watched as if this was entertaining.
“new song, l/n?” yamaguchi asked you, and you paused the music. you nodded right away, grinning.
“yeah! there’s this kind of new band I found a bit ago, i think around the time you guys met nekoma for that first practice match? their music is so cool!” you could go on and on about them, to be honest. they may be small, and very underground, but you liked them anyways.
“wahh, they sound cool- right, tsukki?” yamaguchi and you both looked behind at him, faces expecting the same sentiment.
he only scoffed.
you roll your eyes playfully, sidling up to him for the first time today. “you want to go get some ice cream, tsukki?” you wished, hoped for him to just say yes for once. your heart was begging at this point.
“get out of my face, l/n.” he said coldly.
with a defeated sigh, you walked a few steps quicker, before unpausing the music. the humming resumed, and yamaguchi glanced back and forth between you both with a weary expression.
“you could try to be a bit nicer, tsukki-”
“they can’t take a damn hint, it’s not my job to be nice about it.” He said stubbornly.
yamaguchi sighed himself, nodding along. there wasn’t a point in continuing the topic; he always shut it down whenever yamaguchi brought it up. he’s never been so aggressive about something before.
interhigh had come, taking up your friend’s time with it. you were upset that they’d be so busy now, but with the new tournament coming, came a new student.
he was friendly, and cheerful, and honestly probably one of the most charming people you’ve ever met in your life. he even looked familiar to you, like you’ve seen him somewhere before. you couldn’t figure it out, so you just opted to the conclusion you must have just passed him down the street at some point. or some strange case of deja vu? either way, he was in your class now.
you were just coming back from the bathroom, your earbuds plugged into your ears like they usually were nowadays.
“l/n, please take your earbuds out, it’s class time.” iour teacher scolded you gently, and you pouted a little. It was just getting to a good part-
you had tugged on them a little too hard, and instead of just getting them out of your ears, they came out of the headphone jack completely.
you were embarrassed as your new favorite band’s music started blasting out of the phone’s speakers, and you hurried to turn it off. You were blushing, laughing at yourself as you went to go sit back down.
ahh, dang! everyone heard that! you were just laughing at yourself in your head now.
there was a tap on your desk, and you turned your face towards the hand. it was the new kid, and his face looked bright.
“you listen to my band’s music?” he whispered to you, his face beaming, and you gasped quietly.
“is this you?” you pointed at your pocket, where your phone rested. he nodded.
“that’s so- wow, i go to school with one of the people in my favo-”
“l/n, do you have something to say about the lecture?”
you shook your head violently, holding back a huge grin. “n-no, miss!” your teacher sighed, and continued past the interruption.
the looks you both shared didn’t go unnoticed by tsukishima.
everyday now, you were hanging around the new kid. you had come to learn his name, which was ishiwaka teruo. you both had hit it off instantly, it was like you guys had known each other forever, and not just a few weeks. it was almost like some crazy twist of fate, or luck. you guys were both alike in a lot of ways, held similar passions, too.
“see you, ishi!” you waved a hand, grinning as he waved a goodbye back. you guys didn’t take the same way home, so he ended up leaving the opposite direction, while you walked with tsukishima and yamaguchi. you were humming again, one of ishiwaka’s band’s songs.
“you seem pretty happy, l/n.” yamaguchi chuckled, watching as you danced a little.
“oh yeah, you bet! ishi actually invited me to sit in for one of his practices, isn’t that so cool? he plays the bass, and he even offered to teach me a few chords. i don’t really mess with instruments, but-”
“can you shut up about him? all you do is just yap on and on about this guy, hanging out with him isn’t enough for you? what’s so special anyways?” his tone was harsh, and condescending. “if you’re just going to talk about him all the time, i’m not walking with you guys anymore.” your eyes widened as soon as you heard what tsukishima had just said. your heart was pounding, like it had been caught in the act of something terrible. you even felt slightly ashamed.
“wow, nice, tsukki. sorry for being excited about something.” you muttered, clutching your bag straps tight. what did you expect at this point? he didn’t like you as much as you thought, if he was so ready to just leave you behind. yamaguchi sensed the tension between you both, which made him uncomfortable.
you were all quiet for the rest of the way home.
interhigh came and went, the loss against aoba johsai stung the volleyball team, leaving their spirits broken, and cracked. you hadn’t been to the game that day, busy with a certain band member. and your missing presence hadn’t been looked over.
“where were you?” tsukishima had confronted you in the hallways, while you were walking with ishiwaka to the water fountain. it was break, which meant he could freely talk to you now.
you looked away from him, a nervous air around you that wasn’t like you at all.
“i’m sorry i couldn’t make it, tsukki- i heard that you guys lost, and i’m really sorry i couldn’t have been there!” your words were careful and slow, like you were thinking on how to say the right thing to him.
the blonde closed his eyes, and looked off to the side. he didn’t look pleased in the slightest. “were you with your precious band member? like some kind of groupie.”
ishiwaka raised an eyebrow, and you just shook your head. tsukishima was really doing this right now? you said sorry, what else were you supposed to say?
“you know what, yeah. i was with him. it’s not like..it’s not like i have to be around you or yamaguchi every second of the day, okay?” you sighed. “look, i’ll make it to your next practice, and skip my club activities. is that fine?”
he hesitated, before giving you a curt nod. you smiled in relief. “great! i’ll see you then. now, about that specific measure-”
you had left him behind, and tsukishima had been hit with a realization.
you hadn’t mentioned going on a date at all. not today, not even within the past few weeks. was something wrong with you? he’d gotten so used to that, but now even that wasn’t a constant.
it was like you were slipping away from him, day by day.
and he realized that he didn’t like that.
as the days went on, thoughts about this ran rampant through his mind. it was maddening, he was trying to focus on school, and now, as he was walking to the clubroom, volleyball. he was scarily silent, and yamaguchi caught onto it right away.
“tsukki?” he asked quietly, not wanting to push. but he wanted to know. ever since tsukishima had come back from break that day, he’d been acting strange. he was even saltier, if that was possible.
“am i not enough for l/n?” he spit out the question, like it was a disease.
taken aback, the freckled boy could only blink. the two stopped walking, looking right at each other now. “what?”
tsukishima barked out a laugh, running a hand over his face in frustration. “you heard me, yamaguchi.”
yamaguchi’s jaw dropped. “do you miss them?” was he for real? was this jealousy actually coming from tsukishima?
“hell if i know.” he muttered. but he knew the answer, and that’s what upset him.
“i knew it. tsukki, why did it have to be now, though?” he shook his head in disbelief. at the utter obliviousness of this boy. yamaguchi knew himself that there was something there in tsukishima, something resembling feelings for you. but of course it was when you were no longer always around that he saw it.
“what?”
“l/n isn’t a puppy anymore, they’re not following after you. if you haven’t noticed, they’ve given up. you need to do this yourself, and fix it.” yamaguchi stated. he wouldn’t be lying if he said that he’d been frustrated with the back and forth between you both, it was so obvious to him, but apparently not obvious to tsukishima. or you, for that matter.
“i know that.” he muttered. he would have to confront you about this. was he stupid? why didn’t he get this before?
“then do something about it.”
tsukishima was quiet.
it was decided by him that he’d catch you outside of practice, since you said you’d be coming to watch. it was a quick, and impulsive decision from him, but he needed this to be figured out. his head was at it’s most unclear, and that was affecting him.
you were affecting him.
he looked around the outside of the gym, trying to see if he could spot you coming. it took a minute, before he saw a figure off to the side. it was you, he could tell by that bag anywhere. he stepped out, only to be met with the full picture.
you were with ishiwaka, and you were kissing him.
tsukishima hurried back into the gym with a stone-cold expression. oh. so this is where he stood now.
no longer at the top of your list, no longer important.
you walked into the gym, beaming. it angered tsukishima, more than he should have been. he yanked your arm, and held you by them with a vice grip. you looked up at your friend with nervous, maybe even scared eyes. you hadn’t seen tsukishima like this before.
“what is he to you?”
you blinked. “wh-what?”
“who is he to you? that little bass player.” his eyes were searching yours, for anything, anything that he could hold on to. you didn’t respond, only looking away from his intense stare.
your eyes didn’t hold that same look that they used to whenever you looked at him.
he had his answer. and he didn’t like it. so he let go of you, maybe for real this time. things had changed so much, right under his nose. and he had let it happen.

traitor
Summary: It was only one night, no strings attached, just two friends working through their grief together. Steve went to live his life with Peggy and within two weeks of returning, he peacefully passed. Unimaginable things happen everyday, jokes have negative consequences, and protection doesn’t always protect from the possibility… the possibility of carrying a child. He would have stayed if he knew, everyone agrees with this, so why is the world calling Steve Rogers a traitor?
One-Shot (with a happy ending)
Pairing(s): Avengers x Fem Reader; brief Steve Rogers x Fem Reader
Tumblr media
Warnings: Unexpected pregnancy; serious talks about abortion; brief mention of suicide (if you squint); mentions of Endgame deaths; strong language; minor descriptions of actual birth; ANGST but with a happy ending! This is purely fanfiction.
Word Count: 6,600+
A/N: So, Olivia Rodrigo’s album just came out and dude, jfc every song is magical. like... wtf. This is essentially a ‘song fanfic’, but ehhhh not quite. The lyrics don’t match the fanfic lmao but the melody does??? idk this is a shit ton of angst, be warned. It was from a request I got a while back, so this is kind of a request fanfic.
~
Up until the moment Steve pressed his soft lips to yours, you were certain you had never experienced such a wonderful sensation of magic. You had been witness to actual magic, to beings from other worlds, and yet Steve’s gentle touch was enough to erase any other image, to completely overpower your senses, a kind of magic that dug deep into the trenches of your heart and settled in its new home.
No, you and Steve were not a couple. There were some flirty remarks over the years, some fantasies that lay dormant, but there was never the craving to actually act upon them. But when half the world disappeared and the remaining Avengers came up with a plan five years later, the loss of a teammate prompted the sudden push of two touch-starved individuals. The rest of the team had gone to sulk in their own corners of the compound, some hard at work at constructing the final piece to the puzzle, and you and Steve ventured off to the kitchen. Two cups of tea each, silent but heavy tears mixing in with the sugar and milk.
You were the first to break, shoulders crumbling and knees rocking under your weight. You fell to the floor, sobs and hiccups forming into a full-blown attack, your hands scratching at your neck. Steve fell beside you, pulling you into his chest and rocking you back and forth. He cried too, the final words of his best friend ringing in his ears like a dreaded song on repeat. See you in a minute. See you in a minute. See you in a minute.
Time was irrelevant, you had enough of counting time, estimating it, time-traveling through it. If you could sit there all night, all week, another five years huddled close to Steve Rogers, then so be it.
‘I can’t believe she’s gone,’ you had sobbed.
‘I can’t believe it either. I can’t,’ he had cried back.
You had simply lifted your head and turned his face toward yours, searching his eyes for any hesitation before you had leaned in first. He had returned the intimate gesture almost immediately, gripping you tightly. Tears dripped in between your moving lips, sobs caught inside breathy moans, grips becoming tighter and tighter as each of you shared your first time together. No other partner up until that point had ever pulled such a pained but grateful cry from your throat, no other human being had ever made you feel so safe and peaceful.
The final battle was over, you had lost yet another teammate, but the world had a chance to start over. And Steve had pulled you aside a few days before he returned the stones, letting you know that he wasn’t coming back the same man. He had been so scared of telling you, of possibly betraying you, but when your palms cupped his cheeks and you gave him a kiss on the lips with a soft whisper of ‘Be with her. Cherish her. Be happy. We’ll meet again’, his worries instantly shattered. He could only rapidly nod his head, grabbing your hands that were soaked in his tears, and kissing them until he said his final goodbyes.
And he returned such a different man, but with a smile you had never quite seen before. Yes, he was older and you only had a few seconds to actually process that, but he was happy. He had been happy. He finally lived the life he deserved.
Sitting in that pew two weeks later, both sad and happy tears streaming down your face, you felt at peace for the first time in a long time. You simply gripped Wanda’s hand as they carried the casket down the aisle, a sad melody drowning the church.
`
The first round of sickness hit you the day of the funeral, but you obviously didn’t think much of it. It was the fits of sadness and grief, the hot coil in the middle of your stomach, you thought. It had to be. It wasn’t until your breakfast was regurgitated into your toilet only a few minutes after enjoying it that you were suddenly worried.
You sneaked to some liquor store a subway ride away, careful of not leaving a trail. This was embarrassing, it was insane, it couldn’t possibly be real. You gave the cashier your money and ran to the stall provided, peeing on the stick the best you could before placing it on the dirty sink in the corner. You patted your hands on your thighs repeatedly, careful to not touch any other thing in a goddamn liquor store bathroom.
‘Friday?’ your voice was so defeated, tears already stinging your eyes.
Your little bluetooth sprang to life, ‘Yes, Y/N?’
Your bottom lip was trembling wildly, hands now shaking. ‘Can you stay active with me while I read the results? I can’t… I can’t be alone right now.’
‘Yes, Y/N. Anything you need, I’m here.’ You sobbed openly, thanking her under your breath. ‘Are you sure you don’t want me to contact anybody else?’
‘I can’t face them. I can’t face them if it’s positive, Friday.’
‘Okay, it’s alright,’ her voice was so delicate, so quiet and reassuring. ‘Just keep talking to me, Y/N. I think the results should be ready now.’
You inched closer to the test. ‘I’m scared, Friday.’
‘I know,’ Friday sighed, ‘But you will get through this. No matter the result.’
Grabbing the small device from the sink, you swallowed so much saliva that it actually hurt. The plus sign was so clear, so evident in its visibility, and your ears only registered the loud cries escaping your painful lungs because Friday was practically yelling in your ear.
‘Please, calm down Y/N! Your heart rate is too fast-” she was stuttering, an AI was stuttering. ‘I’m calling for help. You need someone to be here with you. I’m sorry.’
It took ten minutes. Ten minutes of banging outside the bathroom door from the cashier, ten minutes of blurry vision and a strep throat. Sam broke through the door as quickly as he could, eyes flying around the small bathroom until he saw you huddled in the corner, a pregnancy test clutched in your small hand. He crouched down beside you, hands extended but not exactly touching you, and eyes trying to lock with yours.
‘Y/N, Y/N?’
Just the sound of his voice, the voice of someone who didn’t need this added pain in their lives, it was just too much. Another weight added to your shoulders.
‘I don’t know why,’ you choked out, ‘I’m so sorry.’
Sam’s face contorted into a pained expression, eyes brimmed with salty tears. ‘What are you talking about? No one is blaming you for anything. You’re safe, I’m here.’
You shook your head violently, ‘I didn’t mean to.’
But as quickly as those words left your mouth, the pounding in your head had become too unbearable. You collapsed into Sam’s arms.
`
You woke to a single doctor who was monitoring your vitals. She was just sitting beside your bed, clicking random buttons on the screen in front of her. You whimpered slightly, the bright lights temporarily blinding you. The doctor quickly stopped what she was doing and removed the tube from your nose, allowing you to breathe on your own. You ignored the weird scratch that caused, and asked her the question you needed to have answered by a true medical professional - not a liquor store device.
She confirmed what you already knew. There were no ‘congratulations’ or even ‘I’m sorry’s’, just the fact that you were pregnant and it was very early on. There were still options for you, it was healthy so far, you were healthy so far-
Wait, options?
The team were all huddled outside, nerves all over the place. They didn’t know what was going on. Sam knew but it wasn’t his information to pass on. It wasn’t until Bucky’s angry demeanor actually turned violent, a hole forming through the hospital wall. You were all on a private floor, completely displaced from the reality down on other levels, so any freak-outs were only slightly justified. Slightly.
‘Sam, you gotta tell us. I made a promise to Steve, Sam! I promised to take care of her!’
Bucky’s words gripped Sam’s heart in a metaphorical vice. ‘She’s gotta tell you guys, man. It’s not my place.’
You had curled in on yourself, the doctor’s words echoing louder and louder.
‘Abortion is an option. At this rate, it would be quick and safe. I can promise you that. It’s your choice.’
You wanted to die. You wanted the world to swallow you up and bury you alive. You wanted to disappear. If you had died in the snap, this wouldn’t have happened. It wouldn’t have happened.
The ride back to the compound was a quiet one, with Sam driving you and the radio on low volume.
‘Are you going to tell them?’
You bit your lip, ‘The doctor said I had options.’
Sam’s breath hitched and he tried to mask it, but you had heard it. You felt guilty, disgusting, like you betrayed Steve and the rest of the team. They had just lost him, you had just lost him, and you were carrying his child. And if Steve would have known, he would have wanted it. He would have encouraged you to have it, he would have been so happy, he would have been such a great fa-
‘The choice is yours, Y/N.’ He glanced over at you, ‘Can you at least tell me who the father is?’
The wrecked sobs were like second nature now, choking you with their strength. ‘I’m so sorry!’
Sam pulled to the side of the road and quickly took off his seatbelt, sliding over in the connected front seats to pull you into his chest. ‘Shh, hey. We are not going to be mad at you. Everything’s going to be okay. It may not seem like it now but-’
‘Sam!’ you cried, clutching his shirt in a tight fist. ‘I swear it was an accident! Steve didn’t know! He didn’t know, I swear he didn’t know!’
Sam’s mouth dropped open, an almost embarrassing noise of surprise sounding from the depths of his soul. He ran his hands through your hair, eyes rapidly searching for a single viewpoint. But he couldn’t focus on any one thing, not when you were shuddering against him and apologizing nonstop.
Steve didn’t know.
`
The team had reacted in a similar manner. They so desperately wanted to wish you a congratulations, it was the norm for this kind of thing. Especially with such a rough few years - bringing life into this world could be considered an ultimate blessing. But this was Steve’s child, his baby, his only baby in this timeline. It was a part of him, something he had unknowingly left behind.
The team took a few days. The pain of losing Natasha, of losing Steve, of losing Tony. The gift of life. It was just too much.
And you found yourself in front of Wanda’s bedroom door, hands clutching your night robe closed and knees wobbly. She brought you tea, she laid underneath the covers with you, she spooned you until you stopped crying.
‘We weren’t together.’
‘You weren’t?’
You sat up, muscles straining due to your thousandth crying session that week. ‘No, it was one time. It was a mutual thing. We just… felt safe. And we made love.’
Wanda shut her eyes briefly, only to open them for two parallel tears to slip. ‘That sounds beautiful.’
‘We used protection. It really was an accident.’
Wanda interrupted, ‘No, don’t try and justify yourself. It happened. It’s done.’
You whimpered, reaching out to grab her hands. ‘I feel so guilty for even talking to you. I don’t know how you did it. I’m so selfish to be pouring all this on you-’
‘Hey, hey,’ she whispered, ‘But I am the only one who can truly understand. I have lost more in my lifetime than anybody ever should. But I am going to help you get through this, Y/N.’
You pulled her into a hug, ‘I missed you so much. I’m so sorry, but I can’t do this.’
Wanda slowly pulled away, eyes cloudy and touch of red twinge flying in her irises. ‘Alright. I won’t leave your side. No matter what you decide.’
The chair was cold, the room was cold, no matter how inviting the hospital tried to make this room. It was decorated in the most neutral colors, so delicate in its designs, pamphlets and books scattered on every available surface. It was made to make the pregnant person feel secure, to feel comfortable in the hands of their doctor, but it just made you sick.
And when the doctor asked if you would like an ultrasound first, that it wasn’t actually necessary for you to view it, you found yourself saying yes. You were at six weeks, it would be there. Wanda clenched her eyes shut, because even if you were strong enough to do that, she wasn’t. But she was here to hold your hand. She would hold your hand no matter what.
It was the size of a grain of rice. That fuzzy, white figure off a little to the right of your uterus was the size of a grain. A literal grain of rice. The monitor shifted and the doctor cleared their throat, the slimy device absentmindedly being circled around your lower abdomen.
‘Oh my god,’ you whispered, eyes locked on the place the doctor had their finger. Wanda brought her hand up to her mouth and looked away.
That’s when you heard it.
The steady rhythm of a strong heartbeat.
Your chest started heaving, tears staining your cheeks as you listened to the beautiful sound.
‘I’m so sorry,’ the doctor mumbled, ready to pull the monitor’s plug to end the live video but you gripped their arm before they could.
‘No, no!’ you yelped, the heartbeat still sounding, so early in its actual life that this was for sure Steve’s child.
You turned to Wanda, face contorting into one of agonizing regret. ‘I can’t do this. I can’t do this to Steve.’
Wanda gulped and took in a ragged breath, ‘Y/N, Steve’s not here.’
‘No,’ you whined, head turning back to look at the monitor. The monitor with yours and Steve’s child on it. ‘This is the only real part of him we have left, right?’
Wanda opened her mouth but shut it again, unable to formulate a proper response.
‘This is Steve’s child,’ you stated, sucking in a breath through your sobs. ‘This is my child.’
The team was alerted of your decision the minute you walked into the common room. They had known what you left for, dread itching in their souls and morals twisting greedily, but they hadn’t stopped you. They couldn’t do that to you.
‘Hi,’ you mumbled, placing your things on the counter. Everyone kept their heads down, lumps growing in their throats as each second passed. ‘I’m okay.’
Clint was the first one to speak. ‘Did everything go well? Did they hurt you?’
You smiled with your teeth for the first time in weeks, ‘No, they didn’t hurt me. They didn’t even touch me.’
For a few seconds, no one caught on to your words. But Bucky was the first to register them, to etch them deeply into his brain, to stand from his seat and walk to you cautiously. ‘You decided-?’
You smiled wide now, happy tears falling over your strained cheeks. ‘I’m having a baby.’
The team erupted, cries and cheers deafening you. Bucky stumbled over and hugged you close, arms wrapped over your shoulders and face buried in your neck. He had to bend his knees to keep that position. He weeped into your shoulder and thanked you repeatedly, his own body rumbling with broken sobs. You held him close, fingers digging into his shirt and the skin of his back.
‘We promise, Y/N,’ Sam said off to the side, waiting for his turn to hug you. ‘We promise to take care of you and this baby.’
A few more long-awaited congratulations were shared. ‘Guess I’m on desk duty for the next nine months, huh?’
Bucky held you tighter.
`
The first four months were certainly eventful. Wanda insisted on taking pictures of you every few weeks. She had you model with a nice tight shirt to show off your growing stomach, different props in your arms as the weeks passed on.  Flowers, sporting equipment, random Avengers inventions, signs that read the number of weeks you were at. You even did couple shoots, with your teammates posing behind you with their hands on your stomach and an equally bright smile.
She had them printed out and framed, the compound common rooms now littered with random photos of you and your growing child. It was like a timeline, a museum considering you would catch someone inspecting the photographs. This time it was Scott, casually eating his cereal and balancing it in his hand as he walked the hallway. He had this silly smile on his face the whole time, milk dripping from his bottom lip. In his photo, he was posed behind you with a giant smile, back arched and head thrown back while you were trying your best to arch your back as well. And then he saw you watching him, eyes falling from your face to your stomach, and that silly smile growing wider.
Happy insisted on doing yoga with you every other morning, his chosen playlists actually Tony’s. Half expecting the songs to only emit the essence of rock and roll, you were surprised when the playlist only contained acoustics. Happy winked at you, ‘He was a man of taste, Y/N. He, too, had those sad driving songs.’
Peter was hesitant to visit at first. He was still mourning Tony, as you all were, and seeing everyone again was certainly a hard thing to do. But he managed, and the moment he saw you there, trying to balance a plastic bottle on your tiny stomach, he burst into a fit of giggles.
‘Oh, oh! I almost got it!’ you encouraged yourself, stomach not yet protruded enough to quite get it.
Peter rushed over and caught the bottle as it slipped, ‘You’ll get there. How do you feel?’
You grinned at the kid, ‘Like I’m pregnant.’
Peter chuckled, ‘I wouldn’t know, so.’
‘It’s weird,’ you admitted, turning back to your abandoned bowl of fruit. You popped a piece of pineapple in your mouth, ‘But I just remind myself that they’re gonna be an angel when they come out.’
‘All slimy and angelic.’
You swatted at Peter, ‘They’re healthy. That’s all that matters.’
Peter placed his hand on your stomach, half-expecting something to happen. ‘I can’t believe you’re having his baby.’
You bit your lip, willing yourself not to cry. Steve should be here experiencing this. ‘Me neither.’
`
The next month had come so quickly. Your friends - your family - made sure to keep you occupied. Whether it was to shop, to nap together, to eat together, to exercise together, anything, they were by your side. It was so overwhelming at times, but not wanting to scare anyone, you took time for yourself whenever you could. You’d settle in your room, in a nearby cafe, in Natasha’s room, and just sit and breathe. With one hand on your stomach, you couldn’t possibly fathom the luck on your side. It always tore your heart in two when you realized Steve would never meet his child, absolutely mutilated it. But the realization that this child was going to have such a massive family, your family, uncles and aunts who would die for the kid - that realization was sometimes too much.
The thunder from outside startled everyone. The quiet night everyone was having was suddenly interrupted by the appearance of a certain god, hair now cut and beard trimmed, running into the common area. He was practically hyperventilating, his quick pace halting as he scanned the room. ‘Is it true?’
‘You got my message?’ Wanda asked, shutting off the water from the sink.
‘I’m sorry, I was away. I just got the message and-’
Thor lay his eyes on you, your obvious stomach, and he started crying softly. ‘It’s true?’
You smiled at him, opening your arms for an embrace. But Thor fell to his knees in front of you, forehead resting on your stomach. ‘This is a miracle.’
‘It really is,’ you laughed, wiping away a few stray tears. ‘The condom broke.’
Laughter sounded almost instantly.
Thor looked up at you, eyes red and eyebrows furrowed. ‘He didn’t know?’
You shook your head, ‘No, Steve didn’t know. I promise.’
Thor nodded, believing you. He stood slowly, encasing you in a tight squeeze. He hadn’t changed much since you last saw him, but he did seem to be drinking less. ‘After so much loss, the Heaven’s send us a gift from a beloved friend.’
`
Bucky seemed to be the happiest. Although he shared your beliefs that Steve should be here to experience this, to cherish this, to be the father he had deserved to be, Bucky couldn’t help but feel grateful that you decided to keep the baby. He knew he needed to stop relying on Steve to fix his mind, this he had to do on his own, but the bundle of joy inside of you just added to his undying love for his best friend. This was a piece of him, a true half of Steve’s heart that would soon be breathing air and opening its eyes.
He was currently laying beside you, just woken up from a nap and lazily drawing circles over your clothed tummy. You were still asleep, deep breaths a little ragged since you were twisted slightly to your side. You had given up trying to sleep on your back nowadays.
‘Hey there,’ Bucky whispered, a funny smile forming on his face because he can’t believe he’s talking to your literal stomach. ‘You know you’re a miracle, right?’
There was no response, obviously. But Bucky just positioned himself to lean on his elbow, temple resting in the palm of his hand. ‘We’re going to love you so much. Steve would have loved you so much.’
He placed his metal hand on your stomach, careful not to apply so much pressure. He was hesitant though, the metal hand now from Wakanda but still something he didn’t entirely trust. Still, he rubbed smooth circles on your side. ‘I already love you so much.’
Kick.
Bucky widened his eyes, a hitch in his breath. Was that real?
‘Did you just respond to me?’ Bucky asked, a little laugh escaping his lips. ‘Should I say it again?’
Nothing happened for a long while. He switched hands, rubbing a little deeper now. It was a free massage for you, anyway.
Bucky bit his lip and looked up at your face, still peacefully dreaming. He leaned closer to your stomach and repeated his earlier confession. ‘I love you.’
Kick.
Bucky shot up from his spot on the bed and covered his mouth, a loud laugh accidentally escaping and startling you awake.
‘W-What?’
‘They kicked! They kicked!’
‘Seriously?’
Bucky was shooting through the stars, because even though it was a long shot, he felt like somehow Steve was telling him he loved him back.
`
Sam’s leg bounced madly as he watched the doctor slick up the generator. You repeatedly tried to calm him, tell him that it would be quick and simple, and there was nothing to be worried about.
You were six months now. Belly now protruding to the point where you could only see the tips of your toes when you glanced downward, and the baby was positioned farther into your back. If anything, you were having a giant freaking baby. He was a product of a super soldier.
You remembered having that scary conversation with the doctors, your whole family beside you as they heard and relayed the information.
‘Your baby is perfectly healthy. The serum isn’t affecting it. His lungs are forming less quickly than the other organs but there’s no serious worry.’
Bucky had literally cackled at that, confusing everyone in the room. ‘Steve and his shit lungs.’
But now you were finding out the sex. Only one person was allowed in the room this time, and Sam had literally begged you with his eyes to choose him.
‘Are you two ready?’
You each nodded at the doctor, waiting for the monitor to spring to life. After a few seconds, the heartbeat was detected. You gripped Sam’s hand in yours, a quiet ‘thank god’ passing through his lips.
Then the giant image of a literal baby appeared on the screen. It was so surreal. It resembled a quick sketch, like one Steve would have casually drew, and you couldn’t help but imagine him drawing that very image from memory.
‘Y/N, I-’ Sam cleared his throat, smiling at you.
‘Would you like to know the sex of the baby?’
‘Yes, please,’ you answered, gripping Sam’s hand harder.
The doctor moved the generator a few times more, hitting the spacebar on the computer to capture the image. ‘Congratulations, you’re having a boy.’
You shuttered a tiny laugh as Sam flew out of his seat, arms extended upward for a moment before he brought his hands down to kiss them over and over.
‘I’ll print this out for you,’ the doctor smiled, leaving you and Sam to celebrate.
`
Everyone had gathered later that night to find out the news. You had printed enough copies for everyone who wanted one. Bets were placed, a multitude of gifts already mounted in online shopping carts.
‘Don’t keep us waiting!’ Rhodey shouted, champagne bottle at the ready and propped up on his thigh for when you made your announcement.
Sam was standing beside you, a massive grin plastered on his face. You rolled your eyes at him and urged him on, telling him that you were fine with him saying it. Sam didn’t need to be told twice.
‘It’s a boy!’
Pop! Drinks were poured and hugs were shared, with even Friday coming over the monitor to congratulate you.
Even in the midst of all the excitement, you felt a little empty. But you enjoyed your pre-baby shower, happy that everything was so unbelievably working out.
It was midnight when you alerted Friday to call Happy to your room. You needed a ride.
Happy was slightly irritated at being woken up, but once you told him where you were heading, he obliged. The ride was silent, comfortable, with Happy glancing at you once in a while to make sure you were okay.
You walked across the grass slowly, hands resting on your stomach and just a little waddle in your walk. You flashed your phone light over the headstones even though the headstone you were looking for was in a secluded area. Happy trailed you, keeping a respectable distance.
You stopped in front of the small building, the fence somewhat blocking your path. But there was no security around, and even if you were caught on camera, your face let everyone know who you were and your connection to Steve. You had no worries.
You broke the lock easily and opened the door. It was almost entirely marble, a good deal of Steve’s actual aesthetic. So simple, not overly patriotic, and secluded. He had refused to be buried in Arlington.
You sat on the bench provided, the three names in front of you standing out like they were begging to be read out loud. So you complied.
‘Sarah,’ you muttered, smiling as the name rolled off your tongue. ‘Thank you for sending everyone a literal angel.’
You muttered his father’s name as well, but felt no personal connection to it. You spent at least ten minutes building up the courage to utter his name, to say his name in front of him again. He was buried right underneath your feet, his name the only thing for you to see.
‘Steve,’ you sighed and rubbed your stomach. ‘Steve.’
You sobbed silently and watched as the tears fell on top of your resting hands. ‘I don’t regret it.’
You were met with silence. ‘I don’t regret any of it. God knows why he did this. But you lived your life, and I just can’t believe I have to bring life into this world without you here.’
‘It’s a boy, Steve. A lovely little boy.’
You brought your hand up to your mouth to bite the side of it, throat clenching. ‘Everyone is so happy. I am, too. I promise you.’
You lowered your hand back to your stomach. ‘I just wish that you could feel that happiness.’
The moonlight moved slightly, shining on his name brighter now. ‘He’ll know about you, don’t worry about that.’ You laughed.
You didn’t want to keep Happy waiting. You stood from the bench slowly, feet sore. You walked closer to him, wishing you could easily bend down and give him a kiss. But you physically couldn’t right now, so you blew him one instead. ‘Thank you.’
`
Somehow the rumor got out that an Avenger was pregnant. And when Wanda was seen outside without a large stomach, all fingers were pointed at you.
The news went ballistic, most positive and raving, while others pondered just who had gotten you pregnant. You had been seen with everyone in paparazzi photos, so no actual conclusion had been made.
Until a picture of you at Steve’s gravesite was leaked.
It was constant bombardment, timelines were stitched together, magazines and their headlines were having a field day. Rhodey had tried to cancel these news stories, to threaten lawsuits, but to no avail. The world was now cursing Steve’s name - ‘how dare he leave her while pregnant?’, ‘how could he leave her pregnant and for another woman?’, ‘did he even know?’
The team had done everything in their power to try and clear yours and Steve’s name, but no one was having it. Steve’s love story was now tarnished, with many calling him a traitor and a deadbeat. It was no use.
You struggled to climb the stairs, inwardly cursing the staff for not installing a ramp instead. The flashes were blinding, the lights were hot, and the various microphones placed on the stand were comical.
Everyone hushed, looks of sympathy and pity slapping you in the face.
‘I know what you’re all thinking and what you’ve all been saying,’ you started, eyes wandering to the far corner of the room where your team were huddled. ‘But I need to clear a few things up.’
‘Steve didn’t know.’
The crowd erupted, questions flying at you like fast bullets. They were silenced after a few moments. ‘We shared a moment with each other before we brought everyone back. I didn’t know I was pregnant until after his funeral.’
The crowd murmured amongst each other. ‘He told me he was planning to stay in another timeline. To live his life. I encouraged him. He did not leave me alone and pregnant. He truly didn’t know.’
You finished, they didn’t deserve a deeper explanation. You ignored their calls for questions, some even trying to crowd you at the doors. But you pushed through them, cradling your stomach with a newfound sense of pride.
`
It was time.
You sat up in your bed and quickly wiped away the hard crusts from the corners of your eyes. You sat there for a few seconds before you felt another harsh twinge. ‘A-ah!’
You didn’t know why you paused, legs now thrown over the side of the bed. They felt like menstrual cramps, it could be false labor. You let out a heavy breath and pushed yourself up, legs wobbly. But the moment you did, it was like something snapped. Your legs were wet and a tiny puddle had started forming on the floor.
‘Friday!’
The lights in your room turned on immediately, ‘Y/N, is it time?’
You moaned at the uncomfortable cramping, ‘Yeah, I think it is.’
‘I’m waking and alerting the team right now, Y/N. Sit back down, please.’
You listened to Friday, sitting at the edge of your bed for a few moments before you realized you had to pack a bag. You shuffled across your room and grabbed the duffel bag Scott had left for you a few days ago. You packed a pair of socks, sweats, underwear, vaseline and your toothbrush, hairbrush, and phone. You zipped your bag just in time for both Bucky and Sam to throw open your door, Sam struggling to put his shoes on and Bucky slipping on a jacket inside-out.
‘Y/N, is it really time? Are you ready? Are you okay?’
You ignored the cramping in your back and laughed at them, ‘Yes! My water broke, I’m in pain, it’s time.’
With both Sam and Bucky at your sides, they held onto you as you all stumbled down the hallway. Thor was already waiting with the elevator open, the biggest smile on his aging face.
‘Wanda and Bruce are preparing the room. Scott already called the doctor. Clint’s in route,’ Bucky reassured. The three men huddled into the elevator with you, all instructing you to breathe and to squeeze them if you needed to.
But even though you were in pain, albeit not as extreme as it was going to inevitably get, you were so incredibly happy. They were all so loud, so chaotic, and you were as calm as a cucumber.
The elevator dinged. ‘Good luck, Y/N,’ you heard Friday call after you. You pinched your eyes closed, the thought that Friday was ultimately a part of Tony’s consciousness - Tony was wishing you good luck.
The pressure in your hips was starting to build and you didn’t know how long this would actually take. Some people had quick births, some people lay in labor for hours, some for a day. But it seemed like this was going to be pretty quick, because your next scream was completely involuntarily.
Bucky winced, leading you to the bed Wanda had just lay sheets on. ‘You’re doing great, Y/N. Absolutely perfect.’
You laughed at Bucky and gripped his hand in silent thanks before slipping into the bed and trying to get comfortable. Before you could truly feel like you made it, like the first hard step was done, you sat up quickly.
‘Wait, wait! Nat’s sweater! I was gonna wear Nat’s sweater!’
Thor was already out the door, ‘I’ll get it! Don’t worry!’
You smiled at the ceiling, beads of sweat now rolling down your forehead. ‘Oh, this hurts!’
It was an hour. Once you shimmied into Natasha’s purple knitted sweater, you lay there trying to control your breathing. Everyone had piled into the room one right after the other. The room was big enough, spacious enough for even Bruce to roam freely. Although you were in an immense amount of pain, you still focused on your team.
Scott was on his third cup of coffee, sipping excitedly as he conversed with the others. Bruce was constantly checking your vitals and wanting everything the doctor was saying repeated. Wanda was beside you, a hand gripping yours and the other running ice chips along your lips. Bucky was on your other bedside wearing one of Steve’s sweatshirts because it still smelled like him. His logic was that if he was wearing something of Steve’s the first moment he held your baby, then the first thing he smelled would be the remnants of his father.
And Thor was practically speechless, silent in his own little corner and feeling like the god’s really did bless everyone in this room after such turmoil.
Clint arrived with Peter trailing behind him just when the doctor instructed you sit up - you were at ten centimeters.
‘You gotta push, Y/N! You gotta push when the doctor says push!’
You yelled until your lungs gave out, head almost rolling back but Sam held it in his palm. ‘C’mon, Y/N! You’re doing great!’
You usually had perfect pitch when you sang, never faltering when it was time to hit a high note. But your voice was cracking at the most unusual times, throat rubbed raw as you felt your hips splinter open.
‘He’s crowning!’
Wanda traded places with Sam real quick, deciding that she wanted to see the baby when he was finally out. Bucky had a death grip on your hand, tears flowing freely and a smile to match Thor’s.
‘Push, Y/N! Push!’
‘I’m-I’m! I’m sorry! I can’t!’
The doctor was working her hands around the head, trying to ease the baby out easier. ‘Trust me, Y/N. One more big push and the shoulders will be out. That’s the hardest part.’
The doctor’s words were starting to drown out, and your head lolled back again. You felt tiny smacks on your cheeks, ‘C’mon, Y/N. You can do this. Everyone believes in you. You’re so goddamn strong, Y/N!’
That was Bucky’s voice. Bucky.
You opened your eyes, delirious for a second. ‘Steve?’
Bucky whimpered and nodded, bringing your hand up to his lips and pressing kisses all over. ‘He’s here. I feel him, Y/N. You can do this.’
And you could feel him. You could see your family but you could feel him. It was so light, like a gentle whisk across the cheek, a promise that this truly was a miracle.
You screamed as you pushed under doctor’s orders, feeling numb and abused but satisfied. His shoulders slipped out and along with them came his arms and torso, legs and all ten toes. The doctor caught him quickly, lifting him up vertically to let you see him. He was already crying.
‘He’s here!’
You sobbed and smiled widely, laughter rattling your chest as the team bombarded you with quick hugs. Sam remained at your side, his eyes motioning for Bucky to go see the baby.
‘Who’s cutting the cord?’
You looked around the room but you knew. You answered the doctor’s question. ‘Bucky.’
Bucky was truly confused. Not because of your decision, but because he couldn’t possibly be worthy of this. His hands, those hands that had killed so many people involuntarily, had almost killed Steve, those hands were now gripping a pair of medical scissors to cut the symbolization of new life entering the world. He turned to you for permission one last time, before he gripped the cord in his hand and cut where the doctor pointed.
His shoulders felt a million times lighter. Like he was set free all over again.
They cleaned the baby up quickly and swaddled him. The doctor placed him in your arms, all warm and utterly safe, to look back up at you with the same blue eyes as his father.
You sobbed happily, brushing your fingers delicately along his pink cheek. ‘Hi. Hi there.’
He was no longer crying, just staring up in pure astonishment at the various faces staring back at him.
‘Y/N, he’s beautiful,’ Clint said, tissue already in hand.
‘I can’t believe you’re here,’ you spoke softly.
‘Do we have a name?’
It was like everyone said it in unison. ‘Steve.’
You snuggled into the bed and Natasha’s sweater, somewhat aware of the doctor still fixing you up down there. You would try feeding later, but for now your newborn needed to be passed around the group and be awed at.
You carefully guided him to Bucky, holding his head gently in your palm. Bucky took him, arms instinctively curling in the correct position. Once Bucky had him in his arms, it was like everything that happened in the world was worth it. Absolutely everything.
Bucky watched in fascination as the baby curled deeper in his chest, little fist clutching Steve’s sweatshirt. He took the sweetest little intake of air…

How the monster trio plus law feels about their someone constantly comparing themselves to Nami, Robin or any woman who is considered “attractive”
Monster Trio + Law With An Insecure! Fem! S/O
Tumblr media
a/n : oo, my heart— but I mean, Robin is gorgeous though.. SO SORRY for the delay and I truly hope you like this!!
I feel like I already did a request similar to this though.
Summary : how the monster trio and law react to a insecure female significant other.
-
Law
Already knows what you’ve been doing, it’s obvious when he can see you often staring in the mirror or over at Robin and Nami, and then yourself when he was with the straw hats.
He most definitely doesn’t understand the importance of looks, and much less on why you even care if you weren’t like the other women.
Law actually doesn’t appreciate you doing that, because he can tell it’s taking a toll on your mental state and health and obviously, as a doctor, he doesn’t like that.
He would literally be having a scowl on his face when he sees you doing it again and finally confronts you about it.
“Why are you so concerned with appearances? Regardless of another woman’s appearance, I chose you for a reason, did I not? I think you are more than beautiful enough for me. So stop doing that and come here.”
-
Luffy
He’d be pretty oblivious to the fact that you’re doing that, it wasn’t until that Usopp brought it up did he realize.
I mean, he did see you constantly lingering your eyes on Robin and Nami, even Hancock and the other women that you’ve come across on your adventures, but he mostly just thought it was because they were also girls and you know, it was a girl thing.
When Usopp tells him, his brows are just furrowed and he’s confused. Did it really matter if you weren’t like them? He thought you were attractive already! Why didn’t you feel the same about yourself?
He likes you, he likes your face, your smile, your body because it’s nice to cuddle, everything. That’s why he’s dating you after all.
So Luffy confronts you, to make you listen.
“I don’t care what other women look like. They don’t look like you. I think you’re attractive. You look perfect to me! Like.. tasty meat! So stop comparing yourself to Nami or Robin or anyone else! I love only you, for everything you are!”
-
Sanji
Sanji isn’t blind, so he also have noticed you’ve been more quiet and often keeping to yourself lately. He can see you constantly glancing around at the many women through islands the crew visited.
It didn’t take a genius to see what you were doing or what you felt, and it breaks his heart a bit. Don’t get him wrong, the other women are very beautiful and attractive to him too, but he would die for you. He chose you out of many women for a reason.
He’d try to subtly make you realize your beauty by complimenting you more often. He’d make all your favorite snacks to cheer you up and help you realize that you are very beautiful and attractive as well.
When Sanji sees that you’re still feeling pretty insecure, he finally decides to talk with you about it.
“My dear, I think you are absolutely stunning already. Please don’t compare yourself to another woman again. I only have eyes for you, the person I get to wake up to and treat like a Queen everyday of my life, it’s a dream. I truly believe you are gorgeous, like a goddess. So love yourself and don’t look at other women in envy, alright, my love?”
-
Zoro
This man is observant but he can definitely be clueless. However, when it comes to you, he knows damn well what you’re doing, especially when your eyes are traveling back and forth to yourself and the women the crew comes across. It doesn’t help with how quiet you’re being which is unusual enough.
Honestly, it kind of annoys him. Why do you have to do that? He wasn’t one to focus on appearances so he didn’t understand why you even cared so much. Plus, he really hates when you’re insecure because it makes him sad :<
Zoro will literally but subtly try to keep you away from the women, just so you’d focus on yourself and not think about the differences from you and the girls. He’d distract you from your negative thoughts by making you cuddle and sleep with him or maybe train alongside him.
Eventually, when he knows you’re still doing it and feeling bad about yourself, he makes you realize and face the truth so you stop.
“Would you stop that? I can see you keep staring at the others. Look, I like you already, I confessed to you and no one else. You’re mine and I love you just the way you are. Quit comparing yourself to other women we see. I get to see your beautiful face everyday, why would I want anything else? Maybe I should buy you a small mirror so you can keep looking at yourself to know you’re pretty.”
-
A/N : again, apologies for the long wait! Hope you like this! :) this doesnt seem great. :(
Also, I didn’t realize their dialogue got longer each person lol—

Kung Lao x Fem!Reader
Warning: Contains major spoilers from Mortal Kombat 9, including quotes from the actual script. :) kinda follows the canon but also doesn’t considering this is an x reader ‼️Not Proof read yet‼️
Tumblr media
AN: words of affirmation and acts of service love language goes brrrrr
Summary: Kung Lao is devastated that his best friend and the girl he loves get to complete in the tournament without him, so he does what any sane person does: sneaks his way onto the island and challenges Scorpion in an attempt to impress the reader :D
“We’ll be back before you know it, Lao.” (Y/n) said, placing a hand on Kung Lao’s shoulder.
He chuckled nervously and nodded, trying his best to seem at ease but the uncertainty in his eyes gave it all away. It didn’t matter how long they trained or how prepared the elder monks thought (Y/n) and Liu Kang were. (Y/n)’s attempts at comforting the young man were fruitless.
It wasn’t just that he was worried for his childhood friends’ safety. There was no denying that was definitely one of the reasons he was reluctant to see them off, but aside from that he was envious. And how could he not be? The two of them were chosen by the elder monks to represent their section in the tournament where some the greatest fighters would be present.
Sure, he always knew the elder monks would choose (Y/n). She was the perfect fighter in his eyes. (Y/n) was clever, cunning, and quick on her feet. It just made sense that she’d be the first choice.
However, that left that second slot open for debate, and the primary candidates were Liu and Lao. Now Kung Lao promised himself that no matter what the elder monks decided, he wouldn’t let that drive a wedge in his relationship with his cousin, and he’d been fairly true to his word so far. He was proud of Liu, really.
But time went on and Raiden suggested that it’d be best for Liu and (Y/n) to train together in private, allowing them to grow accustomed to each other’s moves, strengths, and weaknesses. This would come in handy if the two of them should ever find themselves in a position in which they had to fight opponents together. Of course, Liu and (Y/n) already had established a close friendship, but there was nothing wrong with a little refining.
Lao had no problem with this, that is, until the tournament grew closer, and he began to see less and less of the duo. (Y/n) in particular almost seemed to be avoiding him, but Kung Lao knew her better than to assume that was the case. Yes, Liu Kang and (Y/n) were close, but not as close as Kung Lao and (Y/n). The three of them were the best of friends since childhood, but Lao always felt like there was something special between him and (Y/n) that just wasn’t present in her relationship with Liu.
(Y/n) had her fair share of sneaking out, having midnight conversations, and causing mischief amongst the other pupils, with Liu, sure, but it was Kung Lao she always turned to when in need of comfort. Somehow (Y/n) preferred to talk about her problems with Lao, and boy did he love it when she did. It was like seeing a completely gentler, more authentic side of her.
Because of this, Lao simply noticed things about (Y/n) no one else did. He knew what made her happy, and when one night she expressed how anxious training made her, he began to go out of his way to do some of her daily chores along with his own or do little things such as make her a snack. Of course, his pride would never allow his to flat out tell her he’d be doing all of this just because.
No, it was always,
“I just happened to make too much to eat by myself.”
Or
“Don’t look too deep into it. If I didn’t do your laundry for you, you’d probably let it lay around your room. Then you’d have nothing clean to wear and you’d start stealing my clothes.”
Soon enough, Lao’s thoughts were flooded with nothing but (Y/n), and everyday he was forced to remember that she and Liu Kang were spending more and more time together, and eventually would be sent off to potentially die. This not only rubbed salt in the wound of not being chosen, but created a new fear for the poor young man.
God, what if (Y/n)’s opponent didn’t spare her? Would Liu Kang or Raiden interject? Kung Lao knew he would. He’d do anything to keep her safe. Hell, he’d throw away his pride and get on his hands and knees to beg if it meant saving (Y/n).
Was that why Liu Kang was chosen and not him? Because he was a better match for (Y/n)? Did the elder monks think he was more capable than him than much? Or was it (Y/n) who chose Liu Kang to fight beside her?
Now here he stood before her, soaking in her presence potentially for the last time. (Y/n)’s hand lingered on his shoulder a little longer, then she signed and took both of his hands in her own.
“What is it?” She asked, looking up expectantly.
Lao blinked, “What?”
“You’ve got that look on your face. Y’know the one that screams ‘I’ve got something to say, but I’m a wuss so instead I’m going to dwell in my room immediately after you leave,’” (Y/n) teased.
Lao half smiled and pulled his arms away. “It’s nothing, I’m just worried for you two.”
(Y/n)’s face softened and she offered him a small smile. “Hey, don’t worry about me. Liu Kang’s bad temper, maybe, but I’m sure I’ll be okay out there.” She opened her arms and embraced Lao, which he quickly accepted.
“After all,” (Y/n) said pulling away slightly and flicking the tip of Kung Lao’s hat, “I trained with the best.”
“We’ve got to get going!” Liu called out from a few feet away at the enterance of the temple.
With that, she placed a small kiss on Lao’s cheek and ran off to join him and Raiden.
“You better return in one piece!” Kung Lao called out jokingly.
“If I don’t, you better build me a cooler body!” (Y/n) laughed, waving her hand over her head.
With a flash of light, the three of them were gone.
___
So far the introduction to the tournament was running smoothly. (Y/n) had managed to hold pleasant conversations with a few other competitors, including one by the name Johnny Cage. (much to Liu Kang’s distain. Apparently Johnny had accidentally disrespected Raiden and was under the impression that everyone there was just really into roleplay. But aside from being a little arrogant, (Y/n) didn’t mind him.)
(Y/n) had been selected to do a quick demonstration fight against none other than Princess Kitana, who put up a good fight but in the end didn’t stand a chance against her. While the princess laid half on the ground, (Y/n) was given the option to either finish her off or spare her. Despite (Y/n) choosing mercy, Kitana didn’t take this defeat well, but did her best to maintain her composure as the two retreated inside to tend to their wounds.
“...Why did you—,” Kitana began in a low whisper. (Y/n) turned to her and helped her hand, palm out, in front of her chest.
“You’re an excellent fighter. One with true talent, princess, believe me.” (Y/n) chuckled, “To take a life such as yours would be a waste. Don’t let one little defeat become a deterrence.”
The ghost of a smile graced Kitana’s lips. “You know, you’re a fool to be so kind to your enemies. The next time we meet might not be under such pleasant circumstances.”
(Y/n) huffed, “A fool, yes, but at the very least I’ll be remembered for it.”
———
The fighting continued on without the two girls for a while until Shang Tsung granted an intercession. (Y/n) made her way to Liu Kang’s side and nodded at him. He glanced down at her neatly bandaged hands and huffed in amusement, knowing damn well that when they returned home, his companion planned on showing off her “battle scars” to Kung Lao in an attempt to impress him. As they waited for the next match to begin, Liu Kang filled her in on what she’d missed during the Johnny Cage versus Reptile fight.
“I wish you could of been here to see it, (Y/n). I got second hand embarrassment from how arrogant he sounded.” Liu rolled his eyes.
(Y/n) stifled a giggle and covered her smile with her hand, but as she did this, she noticed one particular bodyguard’s eyes watching her intently from behind his helmet.
He was a bit of a distance away, but somehow it felt like his stare was burning through (Y/n)’s skull, and the very thought of that sent a chill down her spine. She awkwardly cleared her throat and turned to face the other direction, her fingers slightly latching onto Liu Kang’s arm defensively.
The rest of the day was nothing short of eventful. Raiden had requested that she accompanied him into the underground sections of the island, where she became acquainted with Sonya Blade and Jax, and even got to witness Sonya fight a man named Kano. Johnny Cage and Liu Kang eventually joined them, and there they established a sort of team while Raiden explained the severity of losing the tournament.
Afterwards Sonya and (Y/n) parted ways with the men and accompanied each other to their designated bedrooms, which, luckily, were located across from each other. As they walked, the two women got to know each other a little better. Sonya told (Y/n) more about how she came to meet Jax, her life in the army, and how she eventually ended up on the island. In turn, (Y/n) told her about her life with the White Lotus Society and Raiden. They went back and forth, trading silly childhood and training tales until they came across a certain mural in one of the main hallways.
(Y/n) paused in front of it and smiled fondly at the depiction of a man standing victoriously over his enemy on a great cliff or something of the sort.
She turned to Sonya and smiled excitedly. “The Great Kung Lao,” she explained, “He’s a legend back home. Truly one of the greatest fighters the White Lotus ever produced.”
She proceeded to retell the story of Kung Lao’s victories back in the day, and Sonya listened intently.
“So that’s your motive then, huh?” Sonya chuckled.
(Y/n) raised an eyebrow, “What do you mean?”
“Well I’ve got my mission to save Jax, Cage wants his fame... what about you? What’s your motive? Aside from the monks selecting you, that is.”
(Y/n) glanced back up at the mural, then back to Sonya. “A descendent of his— the great Kung Lao, I mean.” Suddenly (Y/n) felt incredibly shy and began to fiddle with her hands.
“Liu Kang?” Sonya tilted her head.
“No!” (Y/n) exclaimed, laughing slightly, “A friend of ours, actually.” As she spoke, her tone was laced with a certain fondness.
Sonya smiled, “A friend?”
“Yes, Miss Blade. A friend. Anyways, he helped me create all of my best moves. I hate to admit it, but I basically modeled my fighting style after what he taught me when we were kids.” (Y/n) faintly blushed and smiled to herself.
“So... that’s it then? You want to impress him?”
“I mean— I just—,” (Y/n) struggled to find words, “I mean of course that’s not all of it. Of course I’m here to protect the Earthrealm first, but...”
She glanced up at the mural once more.
“I don’t know, I want him to see how much I’ve improved recently.”
Truth be told, (Y/n) had always admired Kung Lao growing up, but it wasn’t until around their late teens or early twenties that she’d began to admire him a little more than usual. And because of that she’d begun to lose her focus around him. Sure, he had always been terribly strong, smart, and witty beyond compare, but as they grew (Y/n) began to notice how charming he was or how nice he looked without his gear on.
Or even how differently he treated her compared to everyone else.
———
The next day the fighters returned to the island’s arena. Shang Tsung and the monks took to their spots while Quan Chi stood at the foot of the throne.
Liu Kang and (Y/n) exchanged anxious glances At eachother. After the events of last night, (Y/n) could tell her friend’s nerves were a little shaken, despite how composed he seemed. She silently patted his back as a masked guard crossed his arms and moved a little closer to where they stood with Raiden.
“Kombatants! the next match will now begin!”
In a burst of flames, Scorpion teleported into the center of the arena. Everyone gasped in awe, and (Y/n) and Liu Kang shared looks of pure admiration.
“Scorpion!” Shang Tsung called out, “Specter of the Netherrealm! Resurrected by the sorcerer Quan Chi! Who among you is worthy of this challenge?”
“Where is the Lin Kuei Sub-Zero? He killed my family and clan. I will have his head!” The masked man snarled.
Without order, the mask guard standing closest to Raiden promptly walked to the center with Scorpion, discarding his mask and armor as he went.
“I accept the challenge!”
(Y/n)’s face fell. She knew that voice, and it definitely wasn’t Sub-Zero. She looked up at Liu with a worried expression, and he returned her stare with his own.
“Kung Lao?” He whispered as he turned back to the two men standing before them.
“Nevermind the Lin Kuei. Now you face a Shaolin.” He announced.
“Kung Lao, what are you doing here?” (Y/n) muttered under her breath.
The man ran two fingers over the brim of his razor sharp hat and turned his vision toward where (Y/n) stood with Raiden and Liu Kang. He pointed directly at the girl.
“(Y/n).”
Oh god.
“I dedicate my soon to be victory to you, my most prized companion.” He said firmly.
She looked around the arena at the other fighters with a mortified expression and caught Sonya and Johnny hiding their smiles under their hands.
“Please don’t do this, Kung Lao.” (Y/n) begged, sweat beginning to form on her temple from the sudden embarrassment she was feeling.
It has to be done.” He said, assuming a fighting stance.
“All this nonesense to impress (Y/n) (L/n),” Scorpion huffed, “You will regret your impulsiveness.”
The fight commences, and although Kung Lao is a master of the Shaolin arts and a great fighter, his attempt at overpowering someone who’s spent years trapped in the Neatherrealm soon proved to be futile. (Y/n) could feel herself cringe at every severe blow Scorpion landed to Lao’s torso until he ultimately beat him into an unconscious state on the floor.
(Y/n) tore away from the crowd and rushed to Lao’s side, swiftly but gently lifting his torso onto her lap, cradling his head in her arms as his hat laid in the dirt beside them. Scorpion looked down at her, the pity in his eyes seemed almost unbearable to (Y/n).
“He is not yet a warrior. I apologize, (L/n), I did not mean to cause you embarrassment.” He nodded.
(Y/n) shook her head and let out a small laugh. “Don’t be sorry, Scorpion. There’s no bad blood between us.”
“Kung Lao!” Liu cried out shortly after as he jogged over to aid them.
He thre Kung Lao’s arm over his shoulder and housed him up, carrying him out of the arena as Lao came to. Raiden and (Y/n) followed shortly behind.
“Listen when your elders speak!” He scolded, “You could not win this fight! And lost it at the expense of both you and dear (Y/n)’s expense!”
“Master, please, that’s enough. He meant no harm.” (Y/n) defended as they entered the main hall.
Raiden sighed angrily, “Take him to the nursery and get him cleaned up.” With that, he turned back around.
———
“Are you sure you want to tend to his wounds by yourself? It’d go a lot faster with my help...” Liu Kang said as he stood in the doorway.
“It’s fine, Liu,” (Y/n) waved him off, “It’d look bad if both of us weren’t present during today’s fights.”
(Y/n) turned around and subtly motioned to Kung Lao, who was spread out on a bench, and shot Liu an expecting look that said, ‘Get out, dumbass, I want to speak with him in private.’
Liu Kang mouthed a silent ‘oh,’ in realization and nodded. “I’ll leave you to it, then. Take care of him, and I’ll be back later to check on the two of you.”
He eagerly left the room and shut the door behind him, leaving the two together in awkward silence.
(Y/n) sighed and turned to the cabinets to retrieve a towel and bandages.
Kung Lao sat up and huffed in annoyance, “Why must the two of you talk about me as if I’m not here, (Y/n)? I’m perfectly capable of tending to myself, you don’t have to stay.”
(Y/n) furrowed her eyebrows together but said nothing. She continued on gathering her materials and laid them out on the counter beside them.
“Are you upset with me? Is that what this is?”
Still nothing.
“What? Do you want me to apologize? Look, I’m sorry if I embarrassed you, (Y/n)—,”
“Why are you here, Lao!?” She interrupted sharply.
He scoffed, “Proving I’m equivalent to Liu Kang.”
(Y/n) shook her head angrily. “Why!?” She dipped her small towel in a bowl of water and squeezed it. “You don’t have to prove anything, I don’t understand.”
“Of course you don’t—,”
“Then help me here, Lao. Explain— Did Raiden... or the elder monks— did they say something to you?”
“That’s not it.” He glanced down.
“Did something happen? I don’t—,”
“It’s you, (Y/n). You’re the reason.” He blurted.
The room was silent again.
“Oh.”
(Y/n) slowly turned around and made her way over to Kung Lao, beckoning for him to give her his arm. She avoided his gaze as she placed the damp towel over a large gash in his shoulder.
“I’m very sorry then... Whatever I did, I didn’t mean to make you feel this way.” The heartbreak in her tone was prominent.
Kung Lao sighed, “No— sorry, I didn’t mean it like that. It’s my fault.”
(Y/n) paused, “What do you mean?”
Lao timidly placed a hand on her shoulder. (Y/n) looked up at him in confusion and scanned his face. He was giving her the same look he had on the morning she left for the tournament. The one that made it seem like he desperately wanted to say something but didn’t know how, or couldn’t muster up the courage to flat out say it.
Kung Lao groaned and burried his face in her other shoulder.
“I like you.” He mumbled, “There, I finally said it. It’s foolish, isn’t it? That I did all of this just because I wanted you to admire me back? I knew the elder monks didn’t choose me for a reason. I’m sure I couldn’t have handled the tournament, anyways—,”
“That’s not it at all!” (Y/n) cried, gingerly wrapping her arms around his torso, “It’s my fault you weren’t chosen, I’m sure of it.”
“I don’t understand,” He said, looking up.
(Y/n) sighed, “It was originally supposed to be us two. At the tournament, I mean. The elders said our fighting styles complimented eachother the most out of the three of us. But then I started to slip up during training whenever you were around. I’m sorry, I thought they’d replace me with Liu Kang, but—,”
“They replaced me instead...” Kung Lao finished.
“You are no lesser of a great fighter than Liu Kang. It truly is my fault, Lao.” (Y/n) confessed.
Kung Lao blinked and was silent for a moment. “So... you were slipping up because...?” A cheeky smile slowly made its way onto his face.
(Y/n) signed and hid her face in the crook of his neck.
“I like you too, you idiot monk. I always have.”
Kung Lao laughed, “Why didn’t you tell me!?”
“What didn’t you tell me!?” (Y/n) argued playfully.
“What? Was doing all your chores and things not enough of a sign for you?”
“Well, clearly they weren’t. Otherwise I wouldn’t have been so stressed over the matter.”
“Oh goodness...” Kung Lao chuckled.
They two sat there, holding each other, for a moment until (Y/n) pulled away.
“I have to finish cleaning your wounds, Lao.”
He nodded and sat up straight, removing his shirt so (Y/n) could clean the wounds on his chest.
As he looked down at her hands, gently pressing the towel to his wounds, applying the medicine where needed, and wrapping them up neatly, his eyes couldn’t help but trail over her lips. This wasn’t the first time, naturally, but know that he had confirmation that she was finally his...
He swooped down and captured her hips with his in a chaste but sweet kiss that lasted no more than a few seconds. (Y/n) stared up at him in surprise.
“Too soon?” He half laughed.
She shook her head, “Not at all.” (Y/n) wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him back down for a real kiss.
Their lips locked softly once again, and the two of them could feel the sense of pure joy and excitement building up in their chests. (Y/n)’s eyes fluttered closed as Kung Lao deepened the kiss. As Lao moved his lips against hers, it tasted sort of metallic from the dried blood that remained on Lao’s lips beforehand, but (Y/n) didn’t seem to mind.
When they finally pulled away, Kung Lao rested chin on top of (Y/n)’s head.
“You’re a fool, Kung Lao,” (Y/n) said endearingly.
He kissed her hair and let out a small laugh.
“For you, perhaps.”

A Drunk Man’s Actions Are A Sober Man’s Thoughts (Loki x F!Reader)
Hey guys! I hope you’ll enjoy this short Loki fic!
For Context: This takes place sometime before Thor 1, so that’s why I referred to Loki as an Odinson, not Laufeyson.
Word Count: 1.2k
Warnings: alcohol consumption
It felt like there was always a celebration going on in Asgard. Whether it was a resolution of a fight between Sif and Loki, or maybe Thor and his friends had won a battle against some foes. No matter the day, someone was celebrating something.
Today's occasion? The 500th wedding anniversary between Odin and his gorgeous wife, Frigga. They had invited all of Asgard to the palace for a grand feast and a night of drinking plus dancing.
You were very much looking forward to the event; it gave you a chance to dress up and forget about any and all problems in your life. Besides, seeing the youngest Odinson dress up was always a treat.
You and Sif were currently in her chambers, picking out outfits from the vast selection of fine Asgardian fabrics that Frigga had brought you two.
"What about this one?" Sif asked, stepping out of the bathroom to reveal herself in a royal purple gown.
You smiled brightly, nodding your head rapidly, "that's it! That's definitely the one!"
She returned the smile and pulled her hair out of it's signature pony tail, sitting down on the bed, "okay (Y/N), it's your turn. Pick a gown," she declared, gesturing to all the options.
They all looked so beautiful and were to your liking, but a certain forest green one caught your eye; it had the perfect amount of lace, it was flowy, and it was cut at the perfect length.
Lady Sif smirked at the colour choice and watched as you entered the bathroom, closing the door to have some privacy while you changed. When you came out, she had no words; your beauty literally made her speechless.
"(Y/N)...." she trailed off, making you freeze. Was it bad?
"It's perfect for you! You're definitely gonna catch the eye of a certain someone-" she cut off her sentence with a squeal as you slapped her shoulder, claiming you had absolutely no idea what she was talking about.
The two of you finished getting ready and made your way to the dining hall, taking the seats you sat in everyday. Eventually, everyone was gathered at the table, both Odin and Frigga giving excellent greetings and speeches towards each other; Frigga's was so moving it brought a few people to tears.
Throughout the boisterous and eventful dinner, you kept taking glances over at Loki, who was seated next to his mother with his brother next to his father. What you failed to notice is that Loki knew you were watching him; he always seemed to look over at you when you were already looking away, a blush on your cheeks as you talked to Sif.
He smirked slightly and took another swig of his chalice. He had no idea what was in it, but what he did know is that he wanted another. And maybe another...
When everyone had had their fill of the delicious meal, it was time for the after party; the chance for everyone to sing and dance and drink the night away. You enjoyed dancing, but Sif wasn't much of a dancer, so the two of you hung out by the corner, drinking your drinks while chatting quietly.
Loki watched you from across the room, blindly accepting another drink from his older brother, who had a mischievous smirk displayed. The youngest didn't have a clue as to why, but he also didn't really care; Thor was a strange man in his opinion.
Normally Loki would just watch you from afar, but something about tonight felt different. With a new carefree attitude, he sauntered over to you, chuckling quietly when he saw your panicked expression and your rapid whispers to Sif. When he got to you, Sif quickly excused herself, sending a knowing look to Loki; one that said 'show her a good time but watch yourself.'
He nodded at her, his way of silently thanking her.
"It's good to see you, my dear. I was waiting for our paths to cross tonight," he declared, making you cough on your drink.
My dear? That was new. You took a good look at his face, noticing the way his pupils were dilated, the harsh blush on his cheeks, and the goofy smile on his lips. You also took notice of the way his body swayed slightly; almost as if he couldn't keep his balance.
"Loki..." you trailed off, "....are you drunk?" you asked, making him burst into laughter.
"Oh (Y/N), my love. My darling, my goddess.....that's actually a good question. Am I? Who knows!" he exclaimed, loud laughter escaping him.
You tried to hold back any comments; it was very strange seeing Loki so loose and carefree at a party. Suddenly, a slow and melodic song came on, the youngest Odinson recognizing it immediately as his parent's wedding song.
He turned back to face you, holding his hand out, "well then, shall we, my queen?" he asked, ignoring the way your cheeks exploded into redness.
You couldn't say anything; you were so star struck, so you simply nodded, placing your shaking hand in his. He eagerly yet softly led you to the dance floor, ignoring the shocked looks from the other guests and the smug looks on Thor and Sif.
With some trouble due to Loki's intoxicated state, the two of you managed to waltz around like everyone else, genuinely having a nice time. The only rough patch was when Loki stumbled over his own feet, making you bump into Frigga and Odin. With a quick and quiet apology, the two of you continued your dance.
When the song changed to something more slow, you settled for swaying back and forth in his arms.
"(Y/N) my love, did I ever tell you how absolutely ravishing you look in that gown?" he asked, mumbling into your ear.
You tensed as he continued, "truly the most beautiful woman in all of Asgard and the Nine Realms."
You couldn't help yourself, you blushed a deep red. However, you knew you had to put a stop to it, "Loki, you can't say stuff like that..."
He grabbed your chin, making you look up into his stunning eyes, "and why not, darling?"
You forced yourself to look anywhere but him as you said, "you're drunk. By tomorrow, you're not going to remember or mean any of this," a quick breath escaped your lips when you finished.
As you gained the courage to finally look back at him, you saw that he looked....hurt; almost betrayed.
"(Y/N), do you really think that?" he asked nervously, his tone completely serious.
With some hesitation you nodded, prompting him to stop swaying the two of you. He shook his head, cupping both your cheeks and stroking them with his thumbs.
"Well..." he began, a nervous yet excited glint in his eyes, "as they say on Migard: a drunken man's actions are a sober man's thoughts."
You were about to ask him what he meant by that, but you couldn't speak as you suddenly felt a pair of lips on yours. Your eyes widened as you realized Loki Odinson, the prince of Asgard, was kissing you. It didn't take you long to kiss back, the two of you pouring your frustrations and affection into it.
When you pulled away, the two of you were breathless, panting slightly. You shared a smile and leaned back in, your lips meeting again. You didn't know what tomorrow would bring, but you decided that living in this moment for right now was perfectly fine with you.

(continuation of the convos last chap cause i couldn’t fit it in lmao)
atsumu’s chest heavy feeling upon arriving at the last and final train station in tokyo filled him with unnecessary unease. an abundance of worry had crashed upon him in a blasting flurry that even the early onset heat of japan in the spring was the last thing on his mind to complain about.
there were many things that could go wrong with such a flawed plan birthed from suna’s spontaneity. for one, you could very well reject atsumu the moment he finally came into your reach (this was the worse case scenario for him) and it could honestly evolve into something worse knowing his parents would beat his ass if they were to find out he took this trip with nothing but his phone, wallet, his brother, and a friend.
yet at this point, he had nothing to lose.
he was already in tokyo and wasted half his day coming all this way, there was definitely no point in going back and have all his efforts go to waste. if anything, you were atsumu’s pushing force, the strong current that pulled him along with the tides just to see you. he only needed one reason and that one reason was you.
a weary sigh emitted from his lips as osamu’s patted his brother’s shoulder with his free hand whilst the other was carrying a picnic basket. call it twin telepathy or just being plain observant, but the cacophony of atsumu’s erratic thoughts were evident upon his expression for osamu to notice. hell, even a random stranger with half a brain cell would know that the setter was going through some internalized anxiety.
this was osamu’s only way of comforting him as the only thing that would completely wash away atsumu’s fear was for you to take him back.
the feeling of dread didn’t cease for atsumu as it continued in a raging downpour on the way to the convention center in shibuya. the event had already started hours ago and the boys had no idea where to find you—not even kita who was great at taking the lead—he was captain after all.
by the time the four volleyball players entered the largely crowded convention center, they had no other choice but to breathe out their hopes in finding you in the midst of chaos.
by the time the four volleyball players entered the largely crowded convention center, they had no other choice but to breathe out their hopes in finding you in the midst of chaos.
“alright, the plan is...” kita huffs as his eyes scanned the bustling crowds that messily serpentined through booths. his gaze met back to the boys who surrounded him with intent written to their faces. a bittersweet smile melted upon his lips as it reminded him of giving pep talks right before games... no doubt he was going to miss it.
“i suggest we split up and find her,” osamu adds in first.
kita shakes his head, “this place is gigantic, it’ll take ages for us to even call and find each other if we do.”
“or i could steal a mic from somewhere and pretend y/n’s a lost child or something...”
“we’re not doing that, suna.”
“damn,” he sighs as he looked down in faux defeat.
a shaky sigh left atsumu’s lips again, “let’s just stick together and try and find her.”
with that the four of them delved into the crowd.
the convention center was certainly bigger than atsumu thought, and he certainly didn't remember the walk from the entrance of the event up towards the dense middle area where he was right now. perhaps it was the simmering and leftover fervor upon entering that his mind was too clouded to even know where he was going. at this point, he wasn't even trying to find you anymore, instead, he wandered the labyrinthine array of booths in self-indulgence until each turn appeared the same and he was back to the same spot he started.
where were you?
atsumu was at the cusp of giving up. even osamu who was supporting him the entire time was starting to complain. with the aching in his arm from carrying a heavy picnic basket of all the foods he made for you and his brother was weighing him back. even suna who was carrying the picnic blanket was sweating just by holding it.
“guys,” the setter sighs in defeat. “i think we should call it a day and—”
suddenly a hand wrapped around his bicep, pulling him aback and capturing his attention. atsumu whips his head around only to look down upon a familiar face. a face that filled him with constant warmth and caused his heart to immediately quicken by the millisecond.
it was sudden. too sudden for you to even comprehend that the moment you spotted atsumu’s familiar figure looming over in the crowd, it was game over for you. your legs started walking by themselves as if they were being controlled by your heart rather than your head.
it wasn’t like you to do this, anyway—this confrontation. if anything, you were the type to pretend you didn’t see atsumu’s face, to turn back around into the crowd and act as if nothing had happened. but there was this aching in your chest, an abundance of tightness until it squeezed every last bi of unspoken truths out of your lungs.
was it guilt, sadnass, or anger? love?
you weren’t entirely sure, yet its dissonance couldn’t be ignored. even if you did try and avoid atsumu, you’d end up right in front of him either way.
“what are you doing here?” you asked, the tone in your voice and even to your expression was unreadable to atsumu.
he had no idea if you were excited to see him or if you were completely shocked and wanted him to leave immediately.
atsumu hoped it was the former.
“i–um...” he tried forming the words upon his tongue, but his thoughts were moving too fast for him to even comprehend what he was going to say to you.
hell, he even rehearsed what to say for this exact moment the entire train ride here to tokyo, yet he was completely slipping up.
his usual confidence and somewhat cocky attitude was nowhere to be seen. and it’s even crazy to think that you’re the only one who can make him act this way.
your grip on his upper arm tightened by the slightest bit when atsumu didn’t answer, “i’m about to present, tsumu, i don’t have enough time...”
tsumu?
you still call him that? even after all that happened?
if only he could just melt into your arms right then and there. he was so close to finally alleviating that yearn, but your comforting warmth left his body the moment you let him go.
“i’m here to apologize.” he swiftly answers as you were about to turn your heel, “...even though i’m three weeks late.”
your eyebrows furrow slightly as you teetered your weight back in forth, your nerves building up. atsumu hadn’t seen you do that since your project presentation together. “i should be apologizing too,” you sighed with instantaneous releif coursing through atsumu’s body, “but now’s honestly not a good time.”
“i know, but matsui told me that you might be moving away this summer and i wanted to see you.”
you swallowed the lump in your throat, cursing to yourself as you felt the sudden influx of crimson blush swearing from your cheeks to the edges of your ears. “so you came all this way?” your voice was a bit shakey.
could he tell you were nervous?
“only because i like you... still”
yup... he could definitely tell.
maybe that slight pinch awkwardness between the two of you was more beneficial that you thought. from the sheepish smiles and stolen glances, it eased you to your surprise. “i can’t believe i have feelings for an idiot.”
atsumu hums in amusement, eyes lighting up when he saw that familiar smirk on your face. “are they good feelings?”
“of course they are,” you scoffed, “why? would you rather have me back to hating you?”
the boy before you shakes his head. “no, i like it this way,” he mutters before pulling you into his chest without a second thought.
it was overwhelming. from how his much broader and taller body embraced you in such familiar warmth to even his scent of honey and mocha. despite being miles away from hyogo, it was atsumu who reminded you of home.
this was nice considering you weren’t exactly planning on forgiving him so easily. perhaps it was the way the moment you spotted his familiar blond undercut in the crowd he towered over caused a switch in your brain to flip. perhaps you miss the way he was right beside you almost everyday.
perhaps you couldn’t keep your distance from him anymore.
pulling yourself out of the hug, your eyes flicker over to a trio of volleyball players standing a good six feet away away from you two. their shoulders basically touched as they all gave you a smile and a wave.
eventually, your eyes dropped to picnic basket in osamu’s hands and the blanket draped over suna’s shoulders.
a slight chuckle emits from you lips, “what’s up with them?” you asked atsumu.
his head turns over his shoulder before looking back down at you. his arms still lingered around your waist as he hesitated to even let you go again. “remember back when we had our date during nationals, we visited the park?”
“so it was a date?” you almost explained.
“it thought it was,” atsumu shrugs, “we saw a couple on a picnic date and you thought it was cute so i figured we could go on one.”
“and you remembered that?” you questioned as you arched a brow towards him.
“every single detail.”
atsumu didn’t have to ask you to go on this date with him. at least at this point, he’d know you would’ve said yes. like what kind of person would reject a date from the love of their life who traveled five hours just for them?
only a idiot would and you were certainly not an idiot... not right now at least.
a saccharine-sweet smile appeared upon your lips as you looked back towards atsumu, “i’m free after six o’clock. you think you guys could stick around for a few more hours?”
“if that’s a chance to meet chef suzuno and eat dessert, then yes.” cut in osamu the moment you asked.
you and atsumu weren’t exactly in the most private of places, so but it wasn’t like you two cared at this point.
suna clears his throat, “um, my parents don’t even know im in tokyo right now, so if i get murdered tonight that’s on you guys.”
“either way, i gotta get home. i have to pack before the weekend ends.” kita adds as he pats suna’s shoulders, “which means you’re coming back to hyogo with me. (y/n) and the twins can take care of themselves.”
“but—!” suna tried to retaliate but was pushed back into the crowd and disappeared to go home.
you sighed in amusement before turning your attention back to atsumu.
“i have to go, now.”
atsumu nods, “samu and i will walk around then before watching your presentation.” he explains but as he was turning over his shoulder, you captured his arm again.
you planted a kiss on his lips. it was much softer than it looked and for a second the commotion around you two seemed to slow.
it felt like it took ages for atsumu to feel your lips against his, but the wait was worth it. his entire plan that ended up failing was worth it. the five hours of his ass hurting from sitting on the train seats was worth it. finding you within this impossible crowd was worth it. you were worth it—more than anything.
osamu fake gagged as he looked at you and atsumu in disgust, “can you two not make out in front of the cupcake display?”
fun facts! —
after the event ended, atsumu and y/n went on that picnic date just in time for sunset while osamu waited awkwardly by the swings
in the end, y/n moved to tokyo after being well liked by chef suzuno
the twins helped y/n pack and osamu even had to pull atsumu off of her cause he wouldn’t let her go 🥺👉🏻👈🏻
because of the long distance, atsumu and y/n go on minecraft dates cause theyre quirky
