James who is illiterate when it comes to technology, and completely unwilling to learn. You, his modern lover, however, have taken the initiative in making him learn. Of course you can't just show him a smartphone app, as that might scare him away. But the hotel is already full of ancient TVs, so why not start with that? James was not fond of the machines, as the Simpsons or Supersize vs Superskinny were not in his preferred repertoire, so you had to go and buy a variety of VHS tapes for you two to watch.

Of course you start with the classics - a ton of 1920s movies to help ease him into it, then a bunch of classics like Gentlemen prefer blondes or Breakfast at Tiffany's. He enjoys the movie nights you have planned for the two of you - he likes the wine, the sliver of human interaction he so misses, and the glow of the TV reflecting on your face. Seeing how the art of film changes is a nice bonus, he is an intelligent man after all, he can appreciate the evolution of the 10th muse.

After a while, you have the idea to show him a different type of movie; classic horror. He seems to like Psycho or The Shining, but not as much as the romance movies... you thought about showing him more scary and gorey films, such as Saw or Hostel, but you figured he'd get quite bored and disgusted by them. He was a killer himself, those films wouldn't entertain him one bit! The fake blood would seem ridiculous to a man as... experienced as him for sure. You figured he needed the real thing... real blood, real tortured screams, real open flesh!

After digging for a while, you found some real snuff tapes in some obscure horror (gore porn) VHS shop. Nasty, it seemed. All untitled, in black boxes, and you had asked the seller to play a bit of it before buying to check if it was real. And, as someone who dated a serial killer and practicslly lived in a murder hotel, you could tell the recordings were very real. Oh, he would love to see them, you thought. Anything for him! Even illegal murder and torture footage🥰

"What the fuck?" I whispered in a dumbfounded manner.

After blankly staring at my phone for a minute, letting the video reply over and over, I look at Charlie. He's asleep. I'm not sure when he fell asleep, but he's out cold.

I shouldn't tell him. He's going through enough. It was probably some stupid joke. Putting my phone down, I turn my attention back to the movie. Past me was smart for picking something long. I run my hands through Charlie's hair in a failed attempt to calm myself. I couldn't shake the stiffness of my muscles.

Today was Sunday. Tomorrow I'd be back at school, and I could fully ignore this incident.

After a few hours of snoring and staring at a sleeping Charlie, the charming boy finally woke up. Slowly looking up at me, Charlie noticed my thoughtful face. 

"What's wrong?" concern bled out of his voice.

"Nothing," I said, knowing he would see right past my lie.

"You know you can tell me anyone, right, bunny?" He knew that I would tell him anything after hearing that name.

It always reminds me of the first time Charlie and I actually talked. I was too high to remember if I was wearing a full costume or not, but on the top of my head sat a pair of black bunny ears. That was the first thing Charlie pointed out when we were left alone, and it's stuck with him for the last 3 years.

"Can you stay the night? I'm afraid to be alone." I anxiously asked.

"Too many horror movies?" He knew that wasn't the case, but he was too nice to make that knowledge known. "Let me go home and grab some stuff."

As he slides out of the bathroom window, my anxiety rises again. With no one else in the house for a while, I was afraid the unknown person would come back. I was used to being alone. My dad was always gone, trying his best to keep money coming. I love him, but the feeling of isolation was one I was far too used to. Charlie was the only help.

I need a bath. No, wait. I crave a bath. I go to grab clothes, settling on a random horror movie t-shirt, a flannel, and a pair of pajama shorts. So Charlie knows I'm bathing; I open the bedroom window and I close the bathroom window. Usually, once I was in, we'd open the door and we'd continue our conversation, but with the recent state of him and Kirby, I decided he probably needed a small break from me. Before shutting the bathroom door, I quickly wrote a note stating that I was indecent.

Turning the lights off, lighting the candles, and running the water, I was finally able to relax for the first time all day.

My phone started ringing.

At first, I ignored it. If it was anything important, they could call the landline. The people closest to me know I hate phone calls, so they won't call.

Immediately, I hear it ring again. Getting out of the tub with a sigh, I quickly wrapped my towel around myself and walking into my bedroom.

Begrudgingly, I answer "Hello?"

A deep, robotic voice replied, "Hello." Something about it was familiar.

"Who is this? Can I help you?"

"You know who it is." I heard a blunt, almost threatening reply.

"No, I don't."

"You sure about that? Aren't you supposed to be a movie buff?"

"I guess," I sourly replied in confusion.

"Don't you know the movie Stab?" That's when it clicked. This is the Ghostface voice. 

"This isn't funny." Are you the same person who sent that video? I could have you arrested!" I angrily replied to the prankster.

"The people you surround yourself with won't make it much longer." There was a pause. "You, though? I'd like to keep you around for a bit." Then he hung up.

Suddenly, everything felt cold and hot at the same time. I felt exposed, uncomfortable in my own skin. I can't breathe. Why can't I breathe? Everything feels so far away. 

Attempting to make it to my bed, I fell. As I fell, trying to grasp whatever was around me, I hit my side. Still sore from falling the previous night, I hissed in pain. Everything hurts. Where is Charlie? He could fix this. I can't move. Why can't I move? 

I hear Charlie come in soon after. I could tell because he shut the window, which had been squeaking recently. As soon as he realizes I'm on the floor, he runs to me, forcing me to take sips of the water he brought.

Then everything went black.

Fluttering my eyes open, everything feels so weird. Like I snorted a line of melatonin. God, what time is it? Finally regaining my vision, I look at my clock. 10 pm. How long was I out for? When did I get dressed? I can hear the shower. 

Slowly getting up, I shuffle to the door and knock. The shower promptly shuts off. I hear shuffling. Soon enough, Charlie opens the door, only wearing a towel, loosely tied around his waist.

"I'm sorry," I shot out quickly but quietly. 

Charlie doesn't say anything. He just hugs me. Charlie, hugging me, in only a towel. What I'm feeling right now seems so foreign to me. Sure, I've felt this way before, but not about Charlie. Never Charlie. 

Realizing I'm not hugging back, Charlie, with his hand on my cheek and thumb on my chin, he pushes my face up a bit to look at his. 

"Are you okay?" a concerned tone echoing through my ears. I didn't want to tell him. It was just a stupid joke. There's nothing to concern him about. 

Instead of telling him, I just nodded. Unable to let out a sound. I didn't want to lie. I couldn't lie to him. I was fine now, so it wasn't a lie. 

He silently points to the bed. Understating what he meant, I shuffle over. Pulling the blankets back, I slide under. I need this. Charlie, still in only a towel, walks to my stack of DVDs. Quickly grabbing the first Stab movie, he puts it in and beelines to the bathroom to get dressed, leaving the door open.

I did not want to watch this. I couldn't tell Charlie that.

After some shuffling from the bathroom and the sound of the movie ringing out, I finally closed my eyes. I am safe. Charlie wouldn't ever let something happen to me. As I near sleep, I hear him attempting to silently walk to my bed. As the sound got closer, I felt the bed dip behind me.

Charlie and I always shared, usually ending up snuggled together. After a while, we just gave up on keeping space between us. 

I felt his arm slip under mine and wrap around my waist. For the first time, I don't have to convince myself that I am safe. I can feel it.

I wanted this every night.

wip wednesday (it's actually tuesday but shh) 🪐

uhhh i was going to share some of buddie at dispatch fic but then i wrote this while waiting for my friend??? so yeah, here some words for an untitled fic that might never see the light of day lmao.

Buck wakes up disoriented and feeling hazy— there's something dropping over him and falling into his face and his whole body feels sore but at the same time numb... it's a strange feeling, something he can't quite describe or make sense of.

"Wha—" He groans and blinks slowly as he carefully sits up, his hands are cold and numb as he pulls himself up.

Was he on the floor? How did he get there? What the hell happened?

The room he's in is dark, not so much that there's complete darkness, but the lights are dim and flickering that he can barely see and makes everything feel less... alive. Makes the room feel like a scene out of a horror movie and goosebumps rise in his arms.

He lifts a hand to wipe at his cheek and when he looks at it, his fingers are staining with blood— an awful, sickening shade of crimsom.

He gazes up slowly and full of fear and the sigh that greets him makes his stomach churn and his heart drop six feet under.

There's so much blood. All over the walls and dripping from a shelf above him, the smell of it too strong and too... too much.

Who's blood is that? What—? Where—?

Is that his blood?

Is he dead?

The 2015 movie is AMAZING, I love it so much, if you haven't seen it go watch it.

The characters get stuck in an 80's horror movie.

I mean... COME ON

IT'S PERFECT

They use the tropes to their advantage.

So that was the original idea, and then I thought that hey Steve and Eddie have already been through an 80's horror tv show. They're old hat at this.

But what if their kid gets stuck? Like their 17/18y/o daughter who either is surviving like a badass and then her two dorky dads show up to help her out like, what???

OR

The horror movie starts happening around them. Daughter knows what's up and is trying to not freak her two dorky, innocent, goofy dads out, all the while trying to hide that this is happening and protect them.

But y'know. They're literal monster killers so ther'll have to be a record scratch moment somewhere 🤣

I'm thinking it's not Eddie that finds Steve as the Beast first. It's the kids. A couple of years before Eddie does and then we'll bring in Dustin's attempt to raise Dart because Dustin will be like "No, he's not a beast he's my friend!"

i'm a big reader and i plan to share some of my recently reads on this blog. please feel free to send me book recs if you think it's something i might like or if you just wanna ramble about something you read that you really liked! my favorite genres are horror, magical realism, fairy tales and fantasy. i love beautiful prose that's almost poetic and ambiguous writing that has you questioning everything until the grand reveal.

my favorite books are: bunny by mona awad, deathless by catherine m. valente, and how to win the time war by amal el-mohtar and max gladstone. the last two books helped me understand the kind of writing style i want to strive for as did poetry !! i don't have a whole lot of fav poems, but worm king's lullaby by richard siken is one that's always spinning in my head.

alongside reading i like manga, webtoons, videogames, and anime. my all time favorite anime is hyouka followed by angel beats and clannad. my favorite webtoon is omniscient reader's viewpoint and i can't recommend it enough. it's soosososo good! ( i started with the webtoon before switching to the novel bc i was too impatient to wait for the updates ) my favorite games are the halo series and oxenfree.

other interests of mine include music, drawing, art, watching youtube videos, journaling, horror movies, and sleeping 😴. i have a few graphic novels / webcomics in my wips so i'm learning how to draw to make them a reality! i also have a video game that's tied to another wip so i'm getting into coding as well !

sisyphus stars three siblings at the center of a conspiracy 1!1!1 the oldest sibling, an astronaut, goes missing during a privately funded space mission embarking to a new planet found in the solar system. i wouldn't call this a greek retelling, but it does a feature a lot of nods to classic greek myths!

atwe follows the mother of a teen superhero getting revenge after her kid is killed by an unknown villain. though it's my own special take on superheroes featuring my personal criticisms on teen heroes, it's also a study on family—in particular—distant family relations and saying i love you a little too late.

march marchen is my sort of alice in wonderland / fairy tale retelling that follows an unnamed girl in what might be wonderland trying to figure out who she is and who she isn't. ft parallel worlds, escapism, the fear of childhood, and the fear of adulthood.

neapolitan is a magical girl webcomic / graphic novel. the story follows a trio of girls becoming the successors of a long line of ice cream inspired magical girls. ft a bright fun palette, gore, and cannibalism! though it's a webcomic, i intend to give it a novelization from the perspective of a different set of magical girls.

Bermuda.....

Is today a bad day 😁😂 Let's see...

There was a flight from Bedford to Bermuda on Mon and it returned back to Bedford on Thurs. It's not the same charter that Chris uses though. We know Justin was in NYC last Mon. Alba has been probably filming Mother Mary in Germany. She might have come along with Justin, Joana (who was in NYC too) and Justin's bff. I don't have any knowledge of when Justin and Alba and others went to Bermuda. Since they were in NYC on Mon, it makes sense they might have stayed there for a while and went to Bermuda on Tues or maybe Wed. Let's say Chris was in Bermuda from Mon to Thurs. It's hilarious they met up for a day if they did, maybe did some PR crap which if they have done, we will find out and Chris went back to MA. It still screams PR!

Alba is still in Bermuda with them as we know from Justin's stories. Time has been checked of the stories by @annislittleshopofhorrors so we know Justin is documenting the whole trip in real time. Chris might not have stayed in Bermuda over the weekend if the flight was his.

Now let's come to Chelsea's vid. Of course she posted a public video on FB although she went private on IG 🤣😉 Again, we have a compilation of vids and photos 😉 I saw the sign of Pink Beach Club, it's the Loren, in Bermuda. The caves are the same in the vid that Justin posted, Boats also seem to be the same as well. I don't know who was else in the vid since I really don't know about Chris' gang at all 😂 so couldn't figure it out. Don't know if Justin or Alba was in the vid also. Please let me know. A few friends are saying it's not the same resort Justin, Alba and their gang are staying, not sure we will figure it out.

Now, if you notice, the PR push has been aggressive since Alba and her gang started the travel. The brown coat and sneakers theory, the countertop theory, Justin's stories showing Alba and now Chelsea's vid. It is just all so pre-planned and orchestrated. There is a strike going on and every celeb is going to use other means to promote themselves and their work. I have already said that and that's why I was hesitant to believe any BUA was coming. Celebs are going to use their relationships, divorce, marriage, houses to promote themselves because there is no other way to promote themselves or their work. We don't know how long the strike might go, it might go till next year. Also, it doesn't make sense if they were to end the PR why would they do all the aggressive PR push in May for the Fall. We have Tiff in Fall and Pain Hustlers being presented and we have Amelia's Children being presented in Lisbon's Horror Film Festival. It's a PR push to elevate their public profiles for their upcoming movies. Both have their movies' premiere in Sept. Let's not also forget about the Carlisle House AD feature rumors.

We have been hearing about Costa Rica beach pap walk since last year 😉 Also, in May there was a rumor of Chris visiting Bermuda for set locations before going to Hawaii on a blog but it never came true. Don't you find it interesting why it is Bermuda of all places? It could have been Bahamas, Hawaii any other place but why Bermuda specifically? There is an untitled Bermuda movie in which Chris is rumored to be the lead role and we all know about it :)

Another thing, I don't think we will find Chris in any video or pic, just my theory because there is a strike and it will be suicidal to show his face during the strike when he was not seen on the Picket line and since he is off social media he couldn't post anything supporting the strike. It can all be just to bring attention and create gossip, PR push without letting Chris in the centre of it and all the others including Alba, her gang and his circle do the work. We will see I might be wrong, who knows we might get an organic pic sighting from Bermuda from a fan just like the restaurant pic we got in May. We have all talked about how inorganic this whole thing is but we will see :)

A thing to be noted she wasn't wearing a ring on her left hand. Let's remember that.
