i love chatting with western young adults because you immediately get bombarded with the ‘what are your pronounces?’ question or when they talk about themselves and their lives, they mention their queer significant others, their queer relatives or you both start a whole discussion about gender or orientation experiences and share little things, and they ask you to describe your experience cuz they want to be better with someone queer they know

and it’s so easy - it’s a message in instagram dms, it’s a carefree loud talk in the middle of mcdonalds, it’s a respectful introduction in asian society, and i’m sitting here like (not european not asian but a third secret oppressed illegal thing): ”holy shit you guys can just say that?!”
