this is pt.2 (pt.1 can be found here)
abby was always taught to be the bigger person. her father consistently reminded her that no matter how people treat her, she should always be the bigger person. that’s most of the reason why she’s so reserved and non-confrontational. when she first started university, she knew she didn’t quite fit in. unlike a vast majority of students around here, she wasn’t here for the “college” experience. she was just here to play soccer and get her degree in engineering. she also noticed you from the first day of freshman year, but she was way too shy to say hi to you. abby’s never really been good at flirting or starting conversation with new people. she often feels too awkward, or too intimidated to say anything.
manny took a liking to her right away; the school got his rooming situation mixed up, and that’s how he ended up being abby’s roommate. it was strange at first for her; she was wary about having a guy as a roommate. but she quickly learned manny was a cool guy. he was funny, and hung up pictures of him and his dad right away. abby could relate, as she was very close to her dad as well.
manny slowly seemed to get abby out of her shell, and would invite her to various functions and parties. but he quickly learned if it didn’t have anything to do with soccer, abby wasn’t really interested. even the girls who threw themselves at the dark haired blonde, would get shot down without abby even realizing she was rejecting them. you were ironically the first person abby found herself interested in. hell, after the party yesterday, abby was almost certain she was enthralled by you.
after walking you back to your dorm, you gave abby your number and hugged her tightly. abby walked all the way back to her shared room with a dorky grin on her face. she could still smell your girly perfume, and all she could think about was your pretty smile. a part of her wondered if you’d cave and call ellie, but when you texted her after she had gotten out of the shower, she knew you didn’t.
y/n (1:34 a.m): i can’t wait to see how she reacts tomorrow, thanks for helping me haha
y/n (1:35 a.m): and thank you for keeping me company tonight, i really liked getting to know you abby 🖤
the smile that tugged at her lips after reading your message was nearly unrecognizable. as she walked out of the bathroom with her eyes and thumbs on her phone screen, manny raises a brow in slight suspicion at the peculiar sight.
abby (1:42 a.m): i really liked getting to know you too, i hope we can get to know each other better :) i was serious about teaching you how to ride a horse lol
“that’s a face i’ve never seen before.” manny states observingly, causing abby to look away from her phone, over at her roommate who was flashing her an intrigued smile. a blush coats her freckled covered cheeks as she thinks about you and your smile. “you remember that girl from my women’s history class? y/n?” abby reminds her best friend, who throws his head back and lets out a bark of a laugh. “abby you jugadora (player)! i knew you’d get laid eventually.” he taunts causing the jock to roll her eyes. “i didn’t ‘get laid’, gross ass. i finally said more than five words to her. i got her number too.” abby smirks, and mischief glints in manny’s eyes. “so nora dragging you to that party was a good thing then?” he half taunts and abby’s phone chimes, signaling that you’ve texted her again; her face gets hot, and manny chuckles.
y/n (1:44 a.m): i’ll be waiting for you to set something up when we’re not tipsy then ;)
abby (1:46a.m): i don’t think you’ll be waiting for very long <3 goodnigjt y/n, sleep tight
y/n (1:47 a.m): goodnight abby 🖤
when you wake up the next morning, your head is throbbing, and thoughts of last night begin to flood your mind. suddenly you remember all about abby’s plan to make ellie jealous. you reach over for your phone and see you have a string of missed calls, and five texts from ellie. your heart thumps as you open the text thread with the brunette.
ellie (2:20 a.m): you home??
ellie (6:34 a.m): why didn’t you call me last night?
ellie (6:35 a.m): did you make it back to your room safely??
ellie (9:35 a.m): you going to class today?
ellie (11:47 a.m) did you really hookup with anderson last night? it’s all that nora chick and her friend are talking about rn.
your cheeks heat up as you read the last message; word certainly seems to move fast around here. before you can even think about a response to ellie’s various messages, your gaze wanders to the time. your eyes widen as you gasp, realizing you slept nearly half the day away; it was already 2:30 p.m and nobody except for abby knew you were alive. you scurry off your bed, and just as your about to grab your clothes and stuff to shower, dina comes barging into your shared dorm. “dude, is it true!? did you hookup with the captain of the soccer team last night!?” dina sounds excited, and your cheeks turn a dark shade of pink, causing her to gasp.
“you did! holy shit, y/n… i didn’t think you had it in you.” she comments, sounding a bit impressed. “what? you didn’t think i had enough rizz to pull abby anderson?” you question half jokingly, causing the raven haired girl to laugh loudly. “oh no, i’m well aware you can pull whoever you want, i just didn’t think you’d move on from ellie so fast! i didn’t even come home last night, i spent the night listening to ellie rant about you and abby hunky anderson.” dina teases you mercilessly, doing nothing to ease the way your face is burning.
the raven haired girls eyes then widen, shining with pure amusement. “did you two do it in here? on your bed!?” she cackles before whistling, “who are you?” dina asks half jokingly as she begins to walk over to her side of the room, reaching for her biology textbook. “you’re leaving again?” you ask out loud, and dina nods, turning her head and flashing you a roguish smile. “yup, i’m studying with jesse till five.” she admits, and you raise your brows, offering her a disbelieving expression. “studying or fucking?” you ask her, poking fun at the slightly taller girl. she rolls her eyes, but looks away from you in order to keep you from seeing the way her face changes in color. “unlike you, i am considerate of jesse’s roommate. we wait until he’s at work.” dina’s response causes you to laugh, shaking your head in amusement.
“whatever. i’m going to shower, and change into pajamas. maybe i’ll make myself a cup soup and watch reruns of buffy all evening.” you tell her, and dina snorts. “maybe you could call anderson to join you. i’m sure she’ll be up for round two.” dina’s voice is sardonic but dripping with lightheartedness. “who says we didn’t already have round two?” you inquire challengingly, causing dina to gasp as she reaches for a pillow on her bed, tossing it right at you. you laugh loudly, as you make your way towards the door with your pajamas and toothbrush in hands. right as you open the door to rush out, you come face to face with ellie who had been debating with herself on whether to knock or not.
her eyebrows meet her hairline as she sees you, your mascara from last night a mess, and your hairs a mess. there’s a wave of hot, red anger that surges throughout the brunette as she realizes you’ve been so busy with abby anderson, you haven’t been able to answer any of her messages, or even been able to wash your face. her eyes flicker over to your bed that’s a mess, and suddenly unwanted images of abby fucking you on your bed flood her mind.
“it’s nice to see you’re alive.” ellie grumbles a bit dramatically as she pushes her way into the room, causing dina to turn around and look at you. “you knew i was okay. i was with abby.” you respond, and the mere mention of the other girl seems to set ellie off. “no i didn’t know that y/n! i don’t know a fucking thing about abby! she could’ve been a weirdo who only wanted to take advantage of you—” you cut ellie off before she can say something stupid, “but she wasn’t! abby and i are both two consenting adults who hooked up, just like everyone else around here!” you snap a bit harshly, and the words feel like a slap to the face for ellie. “so the rumors are true? you and anderson hooked up last night?” ellie’s voice sounds hurt, and you can’t even recognize the expression that’s etched onto her features.
“uh, jesse’s waiting for me, so i’ll let you guys talk.” dina declares a bit awkwardly, she can feel the tension in the room, but she decides to stay out of it and walk away. before she walks out, the raven haired girl flashes you a look of reassurance. when she shuts the door behind her, you and ellie are left alone. you shake your head, “why do you sound so angry about it? you hookup with girls all the time!” you counterpoint, and ellie shakes her head. “but i never ditch you to do it!” she hisses, while you respond with an eye roll. “yes you do! ellie, you ditched me last night for angela! you do it at every party with different girls, but the one time i do it, it’s a problem?” you ask, crossing your arms over your chest.
“i was worried about you! i don’t care about your meaningless, shitty hookup with anderson.” ellie spits rudely, and you let out an angry laugh of disbelief. “shitty? why do you think i was asleep all day? it was amazing.” you nearly grimace as you realize you sound like you’re trying too hard to convince ellie. “besides, abby already asked me on a date. she wants to go horseback riding.” you lie right through your teeth, and ellie lets out a chuckle. “yeah? that sounds like complete bullshit.” she calls you on your bluff, and you raise a brow, “what sounds like bullshit? that someone could actually want something more than a hookup with me?” you ask challengingly, causing ellie’s annoyed expression to falter. “no, y/n, that’s not what i meant…” she trails off, her voice lowering slightly.
“then what did you mean? because to me it sounds like you think all abby or anyone could ever want me for is a hookup.” you reply dryly, but ellie can detect the slight hurt in your tone. she shakes her head again, “no that isn’t— it’s not you! it’s abby! girls like her aren’t actually interested in dating anyone. i mean, half the cheerleading team said she sleeps with girls and never talks to them again!” ellie points out, and you furrow your eyebrows. “since when do you listen to rumors?” you demand, making her run her fingers through her hair in frustration. “you can’t seriously be thinking about going out with her, are you?”
her question causes you to frown, “yes i am. and unless you can give me an actual reason on why i shouldn’t, then we have nothing left to fight about.” your voice is strangely stern, and something in ellie’s stomach drops because of it. “i’m going to go shower… just like was before you barged in here.” you know you sound meaner than usual, but you can’t help it. ellie was supposed to be showing you how sexy she was when she was jealous, not what a jerk she was. you didn’t even mean to lie about your date with abby; it had just slipped out. ellie had a way of pushing your buttons, and in a way you knew the more you talked about abby, the more you were pushing hers. you walk out of your room, shutting the door behind you and leaving ellie alone. she can’t help but glance over at the messy, undid bed that was taunting her. ellie hates thinking about you and abby together, but she still can’t figure out why. dina was right, the brunette might just be the most oblivious person on the planet.
you’re not as upset after getting clean. a warm shower and a fresh set of pajamas always makes you feel better. when you get back to your room, ellie is no longer there, but there's a twinge of guilt that runs through your veins. you push it as far away from your thoughts as you can. you know you shouldn't feel bad; after all, ellie has been raving about how "pretty" and "hot" angela is for the last four weeks! you shouldn't feel the slightest bit guilty for making her jealous with abby.
as your mind thinks about the honey blonde girl, a small, inevitable smile makes it's way onto your lips. though the smile falls fast when you realize you're going to have to ask abby to help you again. this time it was your own doing; you angrily lied to ellie and told her you had a date with abby. in a way it made you feel a bit pathetic, faking a date. the cruel voice in your head was telling you that ellie was right; you couldn't get a date with someone like abby... not an actual date at least. but ellie didn't really know that. as far as she knew, you were going to be riding off into the sunset with abby after your date.
ellie doesn’t text you throughout the rest of the evening or night. a part of you feels a bit bad for lying to her, but the other part of you knows you only did it because she was acting stupid. the next morning you wake up and get ready for your classes; feeling way better than you did yesterday. abby sees you walking to your second class, which happens to be women’s history with her. she can’t stop herself from approaching you, regardless of the butterflies fluttering in her stomach.
“y/n.” she greets you with that soft accent, that causes an unfamiliar warmth to course throughout your body. “abigail.” you respond back, unable to contain the smile on your face. “how did things go with williams yesterday?” she asks curiously, and your smile falls at the mention of your best friend. “not good? was my plan a bust?” she questions cautiously, rubbing the back of her neck nervously. you sigh, “i don’t know. i mean, she was really mad yesterday when she came to my room. she heard people saying we hooked up, and she said all you wanted was to hookup and never talk to me again…” you trail off, and abby opens her mouth to disagree, but you go on before she can get a word out.
“i kinda got really mad when she said that and i might’ve lied to her about us having a date.” you blush in pure embarrassment, and abby lets out a laugh. “oh jeez, i don’t even wanna picture how angry she got when you told her that.” abby’s voice is light, yet there’s a slight seriousness in her tone; she remembers the way ellie was glaring at her the other night. you shake your head, a small frown etching itself onto your face. abby can’t figure out how you look so pretty all the time; even when you’re upset. “yeah she was pretty mad… but who cares? she’s just acting like a jerk! i mean, to be jealous is one thing but she doesn’t have to be an asshole about it. she’s supposed to be my best friend. realistically she’s supposed to be happy for me.” you mutter, causing the blonde to raise her brows in amusement.
“she’s your best friend who’s in love with you. the more time you spend with me, the angrier she’s gonna get.” abby points out with a slight mumble, and you sigh, “if ellie is as in love with me as you and dina say she is, then she would’ve said something yesterday. but she didn’t. i honestly think ellie just isn’t into me like that.” you sound genuinely sad as you come to terms with this, and the dismal expression on your face causes something to tug at abby’s heartstrings. she doesn’t like seeing you sad.
“she’s just stubborn. she needs more of a push. i mean you said she got upset when you told her we have a date.” abby tries, as you both stand outside of the classroom, continuing the conversation. “yeah, but she’s ellie, she literally has anger issues. maybe she was just mad that i promised to call, and i didn’t.” you explain, and abby shrugs. “then lets go on a date. let’s see how ellie reacts to it.” the taller girl throws the idea out there, causing you to freeze. you look at her, “you wanna take me on a “date”, just so i can see how ellie reacts?” your voice has suspicion laced throughout it, as abby nods. “why do you wanna help me so badly?” you interrogate slightly, obviously not trusting the blonde.
she laughs at the way your eyes are narrowed, and she can’t help but find every expression of yours absolutely adorable. “because i like you. you’re the coolest person i’ve met around here aside from nora and manny. i’ll help you get the girl if that’s what you want. i’m a great wingman.” she winks at you, and you roll your eyes playfully, that genuine smile that causes abby’s heart to palpitate returns. “you’re also a very sweet person.” you add onto her boast; this causes the back of her neck to heat up, as she looks down at her boots and smiles. you wrap your arms around her and hug her tightly, just like you did the other night.
and just like the first time you hugged her, abby’s mind begins to race as the smell of your perfume takes over her senses. she hugs you back, and when you pull away you have this mischievous grin on your face. “i guess we’ve officially got a date then, anderson.” you half joke, as you lead abby into the classroom. abby’s sure her face is as red as a tomato, and she’s much too busy thinking about how soft you are and how good you smell to think of a good response. instead, all abby can do is follow you like a puppy to your seat. she sits down next to you, and throughout the entire class, she doesn’t pay attention once.
after the class ends she realizes she hasn’t taken a single note, and has no idea what the assignment topic for tonight is. every thought she seemed to have, circled back to you. the worst of it was, you were probably thinking about ellie while she was thinking about you nonstop.
after class, she groans to herself as she realizes she has no idea what the assignment topic for tonight is. she was too busy stealing glances at you, and thinking about your “date”.
“god, what the hell did i get myself into?”
abby thinks to herself as she walks into her shared dorm. she throws herself onto her bed, her thoughts never leaving you.
meanwhile ellie slams the door behind her as she storms into her room. she can’t help but feel more upset than ever. she saw you and abby walking to class today, and it caused an ugly green wave of jealousy to wash over her. for a moment she actually wanted to go up to abby and punch her right in front of you, though ellie knew you’d never forgive her for that. but ellie also couldn’t just sit around and watch you fall for abby fucking anderson.
suddenly, she pauses in the middle of pacing as an idea hits her; like a lightbulb lighting up over her head. ellie knows what she has to do; she’s going to ruin your date with abby, and she has a million different ideas on how to do it.

Our Souls Tangled
Tumblr media
Tai'stbah x Reader
Summary: Growing up on Yautja Prime as a human was a difficult task. Thankfully, your parents taught you well and now, it was your time to prove your worth as a member of the tribe and get married.
Tumblr media
You walked along the ship, trying to find your way back to your room but you were utterly lost.
No matter how many times you have been on this ship, you always managed to get lost at least once per trip.
You grew frustrated with yourself.
You were a part of their tribe, you were the daughter of a Yautja... well adoptive daughter.
Your mother was pregnant with you when a Yautja saved her.
Your mother said your biological father was a human on Earth. But all you knew was Yautja Prime.
You knew you were different from them, yet they never treated you any differently.
You knew their language, their traditions and customs. You were one of them.
You were a great hunter and an even better cook.
Your mother and father taught you well.
Your father, a tribe leader, Pall-Za'ko taught you the ways of a Yautja, and even if you were not as big or strong as them, you were one of them. He taught you how to use a knife and other weapons.
Your mother, Helena, taught you how to cook and be vigilant. She taught you songs and tales, she taught you that even if you were a human amongst the Yautja, you were still strong.
When you came of age, your parents sent you on a hunt. Your very first amongst the other younglings.
And you came back victorious.
It was the first time you saw your father that proud as he watched your mother hug and kiss you.
And now, you were sent to find a husband.
A nearby tribe, known for their skills to create weapons, had sons ready for marriage, so you and two other females were sent over in hopes of uniting the two tribes.
The leader of the tribe was a young male, who inherited the title after his father's death.
It was said that he was picky and he refused to take a female as his wife.
You knew it was pointless to go, if he refused so many of them, why pressure him more?
But you also knew your duties as the daughter of a tribe leader.
So, you didn't argue.
You saw it as an opportunity, he will reject you along with the other females, and you will be back by the same time tomorrow.
So, you got dressed once you finally found your room and got ready for the arrival.
You never felt smaller than right now.
You heard that this tribe had some huge males, but this was ridiculous.
It was said that your tribe were better hunters because they were smaller and faster.
But these Yautja were huge.
Tall and broad.
You heard your companions making comments regarding the males.
But soon, all of you were brought in front of the leader one by one.
You were kept for last.
And just as you expected, as the others went in, they came out.
Both were rejected.
Now, you just had to deal with the rejection and be on your way home to your bed.
But as you entered the home of the tribe leader, and you locked eyes with him, you felt as if the air was knocked out of your chest.
You felt a weird sensation in your stomach and your head started to hurt.
You could only stare at him.
Tai'stbah, the leader of the tribe was introduced to you by one of his men.
A great leader, you listened as they listed all of his achievements and you couldn't help but feel impressed.
You also never looked away from him.
His eyes were glued to you and you were glued to him.
You thought he might find it strange that you were human. But you never expected him to keep staring at you.
And you had no idea why you were feeling this way.
In the end, the two females were sent home, you stayed, according to a member of the tribe, their leader couldn't decide when it came to you, so they invited you to stay.
Which shocked you.
Why would he want you to stay?
Did he not know you were a human? What was happening?
But no one said anything.
Everyone just kept avoiding you.
Later that day, you were asked to wear a traditional bride's dress, you wanted to refuse, but you knew better.
If he wants you to marry him, it is why you came here. You cannot say no.
You didn't want to disappoint your parents.
You were led to a room where you were told Tai'stbah would wait for you so you two could have dinner alone.
When you entered, he wasn't there yet. Knowing where you could sit, you sat down right next to the tribe leader's spot. It would show respect and that you weren't afraid.
When he entered, you stood up and bowed your head, just like you were taught.
He sat down in his respectable place and so did you.
You were both served food before the cooks left.
You looked at anything but him.
You didn't understand why you were there. He rejected everyone, yet he asked for you to stay.
"I choose you." he said and you looked at him, looking into his eyes. "Mates." he said.
Mates or soulmates.
Yautja traditions regarding mates were simple and sacred, if a yautja finds their mate, they are to be together forever. Separation would hurt the two of them, it was said, that soulmates bond the moment they meet. A bond which can never be broken.
"Are we really?" you asked and he nodded.
"I felt it, did you not?"
"I-I felt something... I wasn't sure what it was."
"My parents were mates. My father once told me how he and my mother met, he said he felt the strongest pull towards her, and that he knew he could not be separated from her. And so did she. I rejected other females because I wanted the same my parents had." Tai'stbah explained and although it made a little sense, you were still sceptical. And you could see, he understood.
You recalled the sensation you felt in your stomach.
Could that be?
But as you sat there and thought about it, you did notice how close you were to him and how safe you felt with him.
No other males have ever made you feel like this.
You also knew what rejecting him would bring.
Heartbreak.
Pain and suffering.
Mates are not supposed to be separated, they cannot live without the other.
But it did feel very sudden. You would say that you were unsure, but in reality, you were more unsure about the fact that you could find so much ease with someone else so quickly.
If anything you were taken aback by how fast everything was going.
It wasn't to say that it was bad per say, but it felt all too quick.
"And now I found you." he said.
"I-" you knew you should say something, but what? Should you speak from the heart? Or let your mind speak for itself?
You weren't too sure.
"I understand, I'm also rather shocked as you can imagine. I never expected the hunting tribe leader's daughter to be my Mate, but it is true, I can assure you, I wouldn't lie about such things."
You knew he wouldn't or rather, he couldn't.
Soulmates are sacered.
"I would like to try. I want to see where this feeling will lead us." you said and he genuinely looked happy.
One thing about the Yautja, they rarely showed any emotions.
--- A year later ---
You looked out of your window, the rain was pouring.
It rarely rained, but when it did, it was a heavy rain. Compared to other planets, the rain here was a lot stronger.
But you found comfort in it.
What you couldn't find comfort in however is the fact that Tai'stbah had been gone for a long while now.
He was invited on a hunt, and as a leader of his tribe, he had to go.
He had been gone for almost a month now, and you grew more and more worried with each day.
You knew he was alive, if he wasn't, you would feel it.
Later that evening, you heard the sounds of a ship landing, you rushed outside and it was indeed Tai'stbah's ship.
You stood there along with other females.
The ramp opened and he walked down, with his arms open, waiting for you.
You ran into his arms, as many other females ran to their husbands.
"I missed you." you told him and he soon pulled back, presenting you with a very impressive skull. "Thank you." you smiled at him and you both made your way back to your home.
You made sure to always have food prepared since you wouldn't have known when he would be home.
And now, it really paid off.
He ate everything you put in front of him.
"Your father sends his wishes. I got to see what a great hunter he truly is."
"He once said he won over my mother with his skills. He showed her that he was a true male."
"And now I understood why."
"So, you brought the skull to impress me?" you smiled and he nodded simply. "You shouldn't have, I'm already very impressed, Tai."
He leaned back in his chair and you moved over, sitting in his lap, you placed a kiss right between his eyes.
"You are my soft little human." he said as his hand grabbed your thigh while the other held your back.
"And you are my big strong Yautja."
"You are playing to my ego again, you know I like that."
"Can I go with you for your next hunt?"
"You said you are already impressed."
"Oh, I am. I'm only trying to determine if you would be as great of a father as I assume you could be, Tai." he snapped his head at you, eyes searching for yours.
"You want offspring? We got married a month ago and I asked you said you wanted to wait." he sounded way too happy.
"And I do. All I'm saying is my mind might change if I see you kill a couple xenomorphs." you admitted, and you felt his hands tighten around you even more.
He almost jumped up from his seat but your weight held him back.
"I-I will arrange the hunt soon! Very soon!" you laughed a little at his reaction.
"Tai! Stop freaking out please!"
"I love you too much. I want it now." he said and you laughed again.
"I love you too." you said as you placed your forehead against him.
It surely felt nice having a Soulmate. Even if you were rather taken aback by it when you two first met, but for the last year you have been together and it has never been better. You swear it felt like it was more than just a year.
Your souls found one another, and it felt as if you two knew each other all your lives.
It was exactly how it was meant to be.

Breath of a Yandere - ,, Yandere Wild headcanons
tw(s): yandere themes, (Wild) multiple mentions of suicidal ideations/suicide & self depreciation
ꨄ︎ Yandere Wild who met you after waking up in the Shrine of Resurrection. You were a lone traveler from Lurelin Village. You traveled countless months, with many others accompanying you at various points on your journey. You had to know the truth. You had to know if it was true. The rumors about the legendary hero fueled your adventures. You feared the worst, but you found him. He didn't awake at first. You spent weeks traveling out of the Shrine only for necessities.
ꨄ︎ He heard a strange voice coming from the darkness and then saw you. You spoke to him with such a reverence that he wasn't accustomed to. He was incredibly cautious and wouldn't allow you near him. That all changed when you offered him some glazed meat. He shoved it down his throat and suddenly you were his closest companion.
ꨄ︎ Words never leave his mouth. You thought at first it was just the surprise of awakening after a hundred years, but no. He just never spoke to you. He spoke with his hands and through his body language. He taught you most of the Hylian sign language that you know. It is probably better that he doesn't speak. You would be disturbed and greatly flattered about the things he thinks about you.
ꨄ︎ He never leaves your side unless you are both put in a life ending situation. He's like a silent but loyal dog. He is always watching your movements and standing guard over you. You have to cuddle with him before he finally allows himself to succumb to sleep.
ꨄ︎ Guardians? You are staying behind. Shrines? You may stand at the entrance as long as there are no monsters around. If there are then he will kill them and then make you wait. The Divine Beasts? Okay, fine— he allows you in all the Divine Beasts except for Vah Naboris. He allows you to ride with Riju but only because she has the Thunder Helm. However, the Ganonblights? On Hylia's name, no. You go back to the entrance and wait there.
ꨄ︎ Ganon himself? You wait. After your entire journey together, he only speaks one word to you. "Wait." He presses himself against you and makes you hide behind one of the castle pillars. There are tears in his eyes and he is shaking. You are his God(dess). He has killed and sacrificed so much. You saved him. You did. He signs to you. "I face Ganon alone. I can't lose you." His hands get shaky. "I love you."
ꨄ︎ That's the first time he ever says he loves you and his yandere tendencies only get worse from there. More possessive. More obsessive. More puppy-like. He's a wolf in sheep's clothing. He always has an eye on you and doesn't allow you out of his sight. He would never hurt you, but he'll hurt others for you.
ꨄ︎ After the battle you two embrace each other and he sobs quietly into your chest. He allows you to patch his wounds. It's difficult because he's hanging off of you. Zelda is sitting near you both around the campfire. It's a little a lot awkward because she's seen his entire journey. She has seen his feelings for you blossom. A part of her hurts because she won't have her Link back, but was he ever hers? It was just his duty.
ꨄ︎ His memories may have come back but he only has one person in his heart. That person is you. Zelda wants him to come back as a knight. He signs no. He has to stay near you. He will die without you.
ꨄ︎ He thinks the sweetest and most depraved things in his mind. He is constantly praising you within his mind. He wishes he could speak those words but he can't. So he signs them. He shows them through acts of service. His mind is just a constant track about you. Partially this is because of his knight training. He was trained to protect and serve. He was trained to help the princess. His mind still sometimes slips back into that. It's just you, you, you, danger?, you, you, you.
ꨄ︎ On that note, his trauma is constantly fueling his tendencies and how he sees you as his god(dess). He was a child knight, blames himself for failing to protect everyone before Calamity Ganon gave over, and woke up with zero memories and a mission to save all of Hyrule. You were the first person he met. You were and still are his guide to this world. Sure, you aren't fated to be with him. Sure, it could have been just a mistake— but you are the first person that ever got him. You didn't push him to speak. You took your time in learning how to communicate with him. You respected him not just as the hero but a person.
ꨄ︎ He takes interest in whatever you are interested in. He will go so far as trying to replicate what you are doing. He isn't great at art but he'll do his best to draw what you are doing. He shows it you like an excited little kid. He does little poems as well. They are all about his adoration to you and how much he wants to spend time with you. Sometimes they have some blood splatters on them. Don't think about it too hard.
ꨄ︎ He his naturally cautious when all of these goods things become interrupted with the introduction of The Chain. He is like a frightened animal with his hackles up. He has his mastersword pointed to the strange group. They introduce themselves and he relaxes a little. He stays by your side the entire time and makes sure everyone knows that you are taken by him.
ꨄ︎ It's really, really, really hard for him when you say you want to travel with The Chain. His thought process is like this: heartbreak. My God(dess) wants to be around other Links? Why do they want to put themselves in danger? Why? Why? I have to protect them. I have to. I need them near me. Why do they want to travel? Will they still cook for me and me only...? Or will I have to share? You want to travel to different Hyrules and fight monsters with them? You want to see their Hyrules? What if my Hyrule isn't good enough for you?
ꨄ︎ As much as he hates it— he'd do anything for you. He sets some ground rules though. No letting the others get too close. Stay by his side. Tell him everything. And do not, ever, put yourself in harms way. That has been his number one rule since day one. No getting yourself hurt. That scares him the most. He could live without you, but you are alive. He'd barely be alive but he could live. If you died? He'd kill himself and die right next to you. So when you get a scratch he wants, needs, aches to kill the thing that gave you that scratch.
ꨄ︎ You both begin traveling with The Chain and it goes better then expected. Wild is still the same Wild. He may even be getting a little better. The Chain is a bunch of hims. Wild is doing better in a way. He's gotten close to everyone and now knows some of their secrets. He's quiet and he listens. They are unassuming of him. Even the more cautious ones such as Hyrule, Legend, and Time bring their guard down a little. He rarely communicates with them but you know he is acutely listening. He only really signs to you.
ꨄ︎ So, it's perfect. There are a bunch of hims that stay away from you and protect you. He is getting them to trust him. You are safer than you have ever been. Safe. So safe. And if he needs to kill them for you? He's already got the information on them.
ꨄ︎ Wild always buys you things from the villages you all go to. He runs up to you and shoves them into your hands happily. It's one of the few times you see a smile on his usually stoic face. He absolutely adores buying you matching fits. He's practically bouncing on the balls of his feet. He loves matching with you. He even gets you a sword that mimics the mastersword in style. He teaches you how to wield it and everything.
ꨄ︎ He sabotages the others in The Chain if they try to spend time with you. He'll tell you things about them, dark things that he's learned. He'll write them out to you and slip them into your back pocket, your satchel, your bed roll. He'll make them look stupid in front of you. He might accidentally trip them or outbest them in sparring. He makes sure you see the worst of them and the best of him. He doesn't need words to steal your heart all for himself.
ꨄ︎ He always wakes up early and watches you sleep. He tries to resist your warmth to not fall asleep but it's too much. So he wakes up in the morning before you. He watches silently, unblinkingly. He thinks you look so adorable, so pretty, so handsome. You are even more angelic when you are awake. Your smile could even make Ganon fall to his knees.
ꨄ︎ He either makes breakfast for you or with you. He sits guard while you bathe in the river. He wants to take a peek but he doesn't! He's a loyal man. He's tempted. Very tempted though. He loves watching you do your skincare and getting ready though. His eyes rarely leave you while in eyesight.
ꨄ︎ His habits reach their most overbearing after Sage joins The Chain. His life was going so perfect with you. You got protection and he got you all to himself. Now, there's this new version of him. He is acting so... clingy towards you. He just seems so attached to you. Wild begins to get shooed away when Sage is near. You are all about being near Sage. Saving Sage.
ꨄ︎ He refuses to leave your side, even for a moment. He distances himself from the rest of The Chain. He begins to not eat. He begins to not sleep. He gets very nervous and becomes a wreck. He thinks if he does this to himself you'll love him. You loved him when he was like this before. Is this what you want? Do you want someone that needs you? He needs you more than anyone else. He doesn't see any reason to live anymore without you.
ꨄ︎ Like always, you save him. You save him from that dark place and refuse to leave his side. He cuddles into you and refuses to let you go. You feel guilty and you are worried sick about him. Wild almost died and he refuses to tell you why. You were sparring with Sage and suddenly you heard a sword slash in the woods. Wild stabbed himself in the heart with a sword... If it wasn't for Hyrule he'd be dead.
ꨄ︎ You sobbed for hours over his body and you refused to leave. You still do. You are beginning to succumb to his neediness and overprotective ways. Just like Wild wanted. He just needs to be wanted by you. He just needs your love. He just needs one person who will love him above all else.
ꨄ︎ Wild has you, but at Sage's expense. He's extremely irritated that this little boyfriend of yours is taking you away from him. A few of the other Links have mixed, upset, and possessive feelings as well. However, we'll discuss that another time.

Yandere Class 1A x reader
yeah, uh, i hate this, but you get what you get

Izuku was at a loss.
He'd tried everything - absolutely everything - to get you to open up. To talk. To partake in group activities outside of class
But no matter what he did, no matter how he tried to sell the idea, no matter how manipulative he was, you declined.
Every. Single. Time.
What made it worse was that he knew several other people in your class were trying to achieve the same thing.
Mina had invited you out more times than he could keep count of, and each time she was met with a short, harsh rejection.
Sero and Kaminari had joked with you, trying to get you to at least crack a hint of a smile.
No success.
Momo constantly offered to help you study, and when you inevitably said no, she would insist on tea parties and lunch dates and shopping trips with the rest of the girls in the class. You had stared at her with a blank gaze until she felt uncomfortable enough to leave.
Even Uraraka, as sweet as she was, was unable to crack your tough exterior.
Izuku realised that they were quickly running out of options. They'd run through the list of class members they could turn to for a solution, and sooner or later they'd have to accept the worst-case scenario.
They'd have to ask Bakugo for help.
****
You hated your classmates.
They were annoying. They were insistent.
When they were around, you never got so much as two minutes of peace and quiet.
It was bearable during the first few months of your first year, when you could go home and have a break from their never-ending questions.
But then the school had decided that it was in the best interest of the students to have you all move into dorms.
You hadn't known a single moment of peace since.
There always seemed to be someone attached to your hip, or trailing a few steps behind you, or eyeing you from across the room.
It was annoying, and you thought you’d made that clear.
In the beginning, you thought they had all been so insistent because they were curious about your quirk.
That in itself was understandable - no one knew one another, so it was natural for everyone to want to get to know their classmates quirks.
You knew of everyone else’s quirks - of course you did, you knew everything about them - and for the most part, they knew about yours, or as much as you’d told them.
Teleportation.
You thought that would be enough to satiate them, but evidently, you were wrong.
At first, your classmates, Izuku specifically, wanted to know about all the intricacies of your quirk - the parameters, drawbacks, limits, range, all of it. That had been the first warning sign. You were taught growing up to never tell anyone more about your quirk than they needed to know. That was enough for you to avoid Izuku.
All of your classmates seemed to be in awe of your power, which was strange.  You weren’t particularly fond of your quirk. It was just so boring.
Teleportation, especially at your current level, wasn’t very useful to a hero. You weren’t much good when you were only able to teleport yourself.
Regardless, you were working on improving your quirk as best you could.
A small part of your mind whispered to you that they knew about things they shouldn’t, but that was just the usual bout of paranoia getting to you. You’d know whatever they knew straight away.
****
You teleportation quirk had developed at four years old, which was slightly younger than your father had been banking on. He’d gone to great lengths to teach you how to control your ability - at four years old, you had a tendency to just disappear. Not because you wanted to, or because you were actively thinking about leaving. No, it was more because you had absolutely zero control over yourself or your quirk.
By the time you turned six, you’d mastered the control your father so desperately wanted you to learn. You found that keeping your emotions in check helped more than consciously thinking about not using your quirk.
That degree of control couldn’t have developed at a better time, because eight months later, right before your seventh birthday, you developed your second quirk.
Telepathy.
That’s what became the real bane of your existence.
Sure, you were blessed to have two quirks. In fact, you loved it as a child. But controlling this quirk proved to be significantly more difficult than your first.
You managed to get it under control, for the most part. You made sure that you weren’t blaring your thoughts out loud constantly, and you learnt how to talk to people one on one pretty quickly.
What you couldn’t control, even close to ten years after discovering your second quirk, was how to shut other people’s thoughts out.
It was a never-ending battle, trying not to up and leave whenever you got too overwhelmed.
You’re sure someone could have helped you. The adults in your life - middle school teachers, your friends, their parents, maybe even Mr Aizawa and your classmates could have helped you, but you would never breathe so much as a word to them about your quirk - not when you saw how people reacted to the idea of someone being able to read their every thought.
So you kept it to yourself, occasionally making use of your teleportation quirk to get a moment of silence, leaping far, far away from civilisation, from people’s thoughts.
In those moments alone, it wasn’t so bad. You thought about how incredible your quirks actually were, about how fortunate you were to have a quirk at all, never mind two.
Then you’d return back to your dorm, and the cycle would repeat.
****
You would admit, it was pretty funny.
Hearing how strangely obsessed your classmates were with you was actually hilarious, especially considering they thought you had no idea. Not to mention, constantly ruining their supposedly brilliant plans.
Some of their ideas truly were brilliant, and they may have worked, had you not known about them in advance.
There were times that you almost felt bad for them. Almost. But playing along with them, seeing just how far you could push them without raising suspicion - it was fun.
Like right now, for example.
“-but I’m sure the weather will be clear enough for a picnic next weekend, since you don’t seem to like the idea of a tea party. What do you think?”
Yaoyorozu and Mina, who stood in front of your desk as you stared out the window, were still talking. Of course, what they were saying sounded nice enough, but their thoughts betrayed their true intentions.
Come oooonnnnnn, say yes, say yes! Just one bit of personal information, that’s all I need. I absolutely have to win this bet with Kaminari, so just give me something to work with!
Mina was someone who remained loud and talkative both within her mind, and when talking to people aloud.
The bet she was thinking about had been a running gag for a while now, something you had almost grown bored of.
Mina, Denki and Sero had made a bet; whoever was first to learn a tidbit of personal information about you, from you, got free reign of the communal gaming system in the dorm lounge for a month.
At least, that's what it started out as in the beginning.
It quickly reached the ears of the other students in your class, and everyone wanted in on the bet.
The promise of dibs on the game system long forgotten, their focus quickly moved on to bragging rights - after all, getting you to reveal any amount of personal information was seen as a great feat, one worthy of praise.
It had been funny at first, seeing how they scrambled to talk to you first, or the awkward ways they interacted with you to get even the slightest sliver of information.
Now, their thoughts gave you a headache whenever they were near.
You could probably have gone to Mr Aizawa if you had to - you were sure you could fabricate some evidence of their weird behaviour and have him intervene.
But the problem was, he was just as bad.
He had this weird, protective mindset.
It had creeped you out at first, but with time, you'd almost grown fond of his concern. It was... endearing. Kind of. Like a father. Or a puppy.
Regardless, he knew about their antics, and he hadn't bothered with them so far, so you decided it would be best if you kept your knowledge of the situation to yourself.
“No. Thank you though,” you reply smoothly, turning away from them to signal the end of the conversation.
But of course, they never really took no as an answer.
“Why? If it’s because you don’t want to be around a ton of people, then don’t worry about it - it’ll be like, eight of us. Please,” they ask, eyes wide and hopeful.
You’re saved, literally, by All Might entering the classroom with a silent shuffle.
“To your seats everyone, get to your seats please.”
****
Even without the use of your quirk, you can feel your class glowering from across the room.
You aren’t sure how your purple haired companion doesn’t realise that they’re glaring daggers at him - he really doesn’t even register that they’re looking at him at all.
But he doesn’t mention it, and no thoughts of them cross his mind, so you pay them no mind.
You liked Shinso. He was good company - quiet, polite, and his thoughts were the kind that barely skirted the edge of your consciousness. Being around him was like a breath of fresh air, so you clung to him.
It wasn’t often that you found someone who didn’t induce a migraine as soon as they entered the room. In fact, you could count on one hand the number of people you’d met that you could tolerate for longer than ten minutes.
Shinso was one, and Aizawa, surprisingly, was another.
Even more surprising than that though, had to be that Bakugo of all people had a quiet mind.
If anyone had known about your quirk and you told them, you were sure they’d call you a liar.
But it was the truth. The angry blond had such a tranquil mind that, if he allowed it, you’d befriend him. But you’d grown an aversion to being near him, as wherever Bakugo was, a crowd of classmates was sure to follow.
You’re brought back to the present moment as Shinso shakes his hand in front of your face, throwing you a quizzical look.
“Ah, sorry, I zoned out.”
He nods in understanding, before glancing behind you.
“Just thought I’d let you know; your classmates look like they want my head on a stick,” he says in a bored tone, eyes sliding back to you a moment later.
You make a noise at the back of your throat.
“Yeah,” you wince, “I noticed that. I didn’t want to mention it.”
He shrugs, standing up and offering you his hand.
“Well, then let’s find somewhere else to sit, huh?”
You smile. Your classmates are outraged, seething as you accept his hand and sweep out of the cafeteria.
Thank goodness, you think, there were so many voices.
You only went to the cafeteria because Shinso liked the soba they served.
Honestly, braving the bustling centre felt like someone was hitting between your eyes with an ice-pick - pure torture.
The flood of thoughts fades as the two of you walk further from the main building, and your shoulders slump with relief.
If he notices, Shinso doesn’t comment. You’d thought originally that he was just extremely unobservant, but he really just didn’t think about or mention anything unless it raised any actual concern.
You’d realised that when you had accompanied him to a private training session with Aizawa, and you’d had a migraine from a long day of dealing with your classmates.
He only brought it up, openly thought about it when he saw how you grabbed at your head out of the corner of his eye.
Being with him was peaceful, you’d realised in that moment, because he had incredible control over his thoughts. That must have been because of his own predominantly mental quirk.
The thought made you happy, for some reason.
****
You liked when Mr Aizawa used his quirk on you.
The rest of your classmates hated it, and it really seemed to throw them off, but to you, it felt like sweet relief. It made everything quiet. Peaceful.
There were times where it threw you off, suddenly hearing nothing but radio silence, but after some adjustment, it was as if someone had released the pressure on your skull. Not that he, or anyone else knew.
Though, on some occasions, when he looked at you before you had time to mask the relief on your face, you saw the slight glimmer of something akin to realisation in his eyes. If he knew, he never brought it up.
It should’ve had you on edge - the fact that he might’ve known, but never said anything. But it didn’t. You didn’t know why.
If anyone were to discover your second quirk, you’d be in a world of trouble. Having an unregistered quirk, especially at your age, in UA of all places - it was unheard of.
It was criminal.
So you should’ve been terrified at the thought of someone finding out, knowing about your quirk.
But surely if he knew, he’d have brought it up by now?
“Quiet down class,” Aizawa demands flatly.
They don’t listen. Of course they don’t.
Their incessant chatter matches their constant barrage of thoughts, and it seems particularly noisy today. All their thoughts are focused on you, and it leaves a sharp throb in your temples.
Aizawa glares at them, eyes flashing crimson for a moment, and you feel all the tension melt away. You prepare yourself for the inevitable rush of returning voices, but it doesn’t come. Aizawa, for some reason, keeps his quirk activated, gaze roaming the class, lingering on you for a second too long before he looks away, brows furrowing as he blinks.
You mask your wince with an awkward cough, shifting in your seat. Now, most thoughts were centred around Aizawa and how scary he was.
The thought makes you laugh. They were so far off the mark, it was comical. Aizawa was like an overly concerned parent, thoughts constantly circling his students, how he could push them to be better. Honestly, it was quite heart warming, and the fact that his actions were so glaringly different to his thoughts made it ten times funnier.
Aizawa calls your name, drawing you out of your thoughts.
“Sensei?”
“See me after class.”
Before you have a chance to delve into his mind to see what he was thinking, a barrage of thoughts hit you from all angles, your classmates wondering, like you, what this was all about.
You don’t give much thought to his request, too overwhelmed to try and sift through the turbulent sea of thoughts.
****
Aizawa schools his expression, staring down at you blankly.
“Well?”
You looked so young like this – wide eyed, trembling hands, pale, blanched face. You were panicked. He knew you were, but he made no move to ease your worries, waiting instead for confirmation.
“I– Sensei…”
He feels his brow twitch.
Not in annoyance. Not with you. Never you. You tended to tug at his heart strings, for reasons he didn’t fully understand.
Maybe because you were so young? You appeared younger still with that gleam of innocence in your eyes. Hero society was no place for someone like you - you were someone heroes should be protecting, rather than welcoming into their ranks.
“Answer the question.”
Your throat bobs as you swallow and turn your head to look out the window.
Were you thinking of a way to talk yourself out the situation? Were you trying to find a way to play off his discovery as nothing more than a funny happenstance? He didn’t doubt it.
“…yes.”
The word weighs heavily on you, shoulders sagging as you stand before him, curling in on yourself. His heart aches at the sight.
How overwhelming was it, to keep something like this to yourself? To live in fear of someone discovering your secret and hating you for it?
“And you’ve kept this to yourself for the past ten years? You’ve had no training or help whatsoever?”
You seem surprised at the shock colouring his tone, as if you’d expected him to be angry or fearful, rather than sympathetic. Again, he wondered how you’d dealt with this all alone for so long.
He sighs.
“You’re not in trouble. I’m not mad.”
He sees the tension melt from your posture in real time, as if someone had lifted an anvil off your shoulders.
“If you’d like, I can help you. We could do some training after classes; help you learn control? I can’t promise anything, but it might help.”
Of all the things Aizawa had expected to happen, you bursting into tears wasn’t one of them. Some long buried protective instinct rears it’s head at the sight of your red rimmed eyes as you try desperately to mop away the tears on your cheeks.
He awkwardly shifts from one foot to another, patting your shoulder in a pathetic attempt to comfort you.
“I’m really not in trouble? Y-You don’t hate me for listening in on your thoughts without permission?”
Again, that same painful clench in his heart.
“No, I don’t. Why would I hate you for something you can’t control? None of your classmates would either, I can promise you that.”
Aizawa spends the next twenty minutes clumsily comforting you, dismissing you as soon as your tears have stopped and he makes his way to the principal’s office a few minutes later. When he arrives, he’s immediately greeted by a very tense looking All Might and an oblivious, chattering Nezu.
He seats himself in the armchair next to Toshinori, posture sagging.
“You were right.”
Nezu cackles at that, hardly able to get a word in through his triumphant laughter. His reaction is in stark contrast to the other two men and their responses. The two share a tense, understanding look, glancing back at Nezu as he calms his laughter.
“Oh, this is most wonderful! I can’t wait to see what happens!”
Guilt eats away at Aizawa. He could only hope you wouldn’t hate him and Toshinori, or even your classmates for what they planned on doing.

Not Again - Part Seven
Summary: Y/n has figured out how to go home. Azriel is desperately trying to hold on, no matter how much it burns.
Warnings: slight descriptions of burns and wounds, angst
Series Master List
Tumblr media
-Part Seven-
Azriel was pissed. He had been told by Rhys that she’d figured it out, that she was setting up the portal, that she was leaving at any moment. Something vicious and sharp had punched him in the gut when his brother had reached out with his mind to say those words and there was this instant anger that over took him.
Azriel had left mid conversation with Cassian, ignoring his confused shouts as Azriel launched into the sky. Flying straight for the house of wind.
She was going to leave, any second and she would be gone, and he didn’t know why there was something screaming in him not to let that happen. He’d promised her that she would go home, that he would do everything he could to get her there, and yet his mind and shadows were screaming, stay, stay, don’t let her go, she can’t leave, stay, stay, don’t leave.
Azriel slams onto the balcony, knees barking in pain but he doesn’t care. He’s running down the hall, following this invisible string that tugs him towards her. He’s barely registering where he’s going, left and right, down the steps, right and left, through the halls, towards her. She’s leaving, she’s leaving and I’ll never see her again.
The door is open, voices fluttering out to meet him and he takes a single second to compose himself. Azriel forces each ugly emotion into a box, locking it away behind the mask of the shadowsinger.
“That was quick,” Rhys smirks as soon as Azriel walks into the empty room.
They’d cleared out the furniture of the spare bedroom, a bucket of black paint in the center of the floor. Kneeling before it is Y/n, a thick brush in her already paint stained hand. Her arm is bandaged, dark red seeping through the white cloth, and suddenly he can smell her blood everywhere. It envelops him, and this primal part of him snarls, eyes searching for the threat, to protect her from whatever dared to harm her. He shoves that down, down, down.
“You’re just in time for the party,” she grins, looking him in the eyes without that hesitation he’d seen last night, and he can see the genuine light in them, the happiness, it’s enough to calm the raging beast inside him, just slightly.
“Why are you bleeding?”
She holds up her arm, “old spells seem to require blood for almost everything. We mixed mine in with the paint to make it easier.”
He so badly wants to tear into her for trying to just leave without a word, slicing her arm halfway open to do it, to yell and yell, and yet he sees that spark in her and he can’t, “you figured it out.”
Feyre holds out a piece of paper to him, a sketch in the center of it, and Azriel examines the strange mark. It almost looks like a doorway, an arch, he’s half tempted to tear it to shreds.
“It should have been obvious,” Y/n says, standing up from the ground, “it’s so simple I’m almost mad I didn’t get it sooner.”
She stands at his side, paint stained hand reaching over his arm to trace over the mark, “It looks almost identical to unlocking, which is one of the first things my mom ever taught me, I looked over it so many times. But it’s so simple, stupidly simple that I overlooked it again and again. Didn’t help that the spell is in this ancient language I’ve never seen or heard, even Amren didn’t recognize it.”
She looks up at him, eyes shining so bright that he can’t help but give her the faintest smile. Her eyes dip to his mouth, grin faltering just barely, a brief look passing through her face, Azriel almost convinces himself that it’s longing. If he was delusional he’d think that maybe she’d think twice about leaving, about leaving him.
“How do you open it?” Rhys asks walking around that archway, “or does it just do it on its own in a few minutes?”
“A little more blood and a spell,” she says, unwrapping the bandage on her arm, “I need to write the name of the place or person I’m trying to see.”
Azriel’s nose flares at the smell of her blood, he can’t even look as she dips her fingers in the wound and starts to draw out the marks on the floor, whispering the name of her home over and over.
You look like you’re ready to scream, Rhys says into his mind, don’t tell me you’ve grown attached so soon.
Mind your own business, Azriel growls back.
It takes her several minutes to draw out the word, meticulously examining every curve and line to make sure it’s absolutely perfect. He wants her to hurry up, to slow down, to stop all together.
“Alright,” Y/n says as she stands, “that should be it.”
She takes the Walking Dead from Feyre, who steps away and into her mate’s side. The High Lady curiously watches, glancing at Azriel like she’s connecting pieces in her mind. He’s half tempted to give her the same warning he’d given her mate.
Y/n starts to speak, voice straining over the foreign words. They sound harsh against her usually soft accent. Her face scrunches, almost as if she’s in pain, and Azriel can feel it in his own throat. She doesn’t sound like herself, the words turning to rasps.
Faint green light starts to flare from the painted gate, and Y/n’s voice cracks on the words. A salty tang hits the air and Azriel sees the tears falling down her face.
“Stop,” he says, taking a single step closer.
She doesn’t, she keeps going and the center of the gate turns green. The room turns unbearably hot, hot wind swirling round and round, and Y/n’s eyes get a glassy far away look. Something was wrong, this wasn’t right, wrong wrong wrong.
“Y/n stop!”
She can’t hear him, she can’t hear Rhys and Feyre shouting on the other side of her. Azriel can’t hear them either he realizes, he’s in a shield of air, trapped inside with no way out. Sweat slides down his skin, his wings tucking against him, his shadows hiding beneath. The air slices through his skin, drawing his blood.
She’s stuck there in the center of it, the words she screams turning to a garbled mess, like her throat was being shredded from the inside out. The book in her hands glows bright green, illuminating her face in the sickly color. The gate is dark, that green light being eaten up from the inside, something lurks on the other side and he’s sure it isn’t the beautiful Terrasen she had told him of.
“Y/n let go!” He pushes towards her, heat blasting his skin, “Let go of the damned book.”
He reaches for her, a brief moment of panic hitting him as he touches her scorching hot skin, burning his already scarred hands. For just a moment he’s transported back to that dark corner his half brothers had found him in, to the feeling of oil coating his hands, to the smell of his burnt flesh in his nose. Everything in him recoils, trying to get away from that heat, but she’s right there, tears running down her face. She’s in so much pain, he can feel it in his own chest, pain, pain, pain.
Azriel screams as he wraps his arms around her, trying to pry that cursed book from her hands but her grip is like iron. Every part of him is burning, begging for him to let her go, let whatever it was on the other side take her. But he won’t, he can’t, he screams and screams and begs her to let go of the book, pulling her to his chest, yanking on that string, pleading with the Mother to let her go.
“Please,” he sobs through his teeth, “let go, just let go, Princess.”
Burning, he was burning alive. He wasn’t sure he’d even survive, and if he did her body would be imprinted into his wherever they touched. Screaming, begging, burning and burning and burning
Princess please, he begs, the words not even making it past his lips as he screams, “let go, please, let it go!”
He yanks harder, holding her burning body to his own, “Where’d you go, Princess? Come back, please just come back to me.”
And like a switch had turned off, her hands relax and that Mother forsaken book falls into the inky darkness below, disappearing as the portal closes around it.
She collapses, body still burning into his. Azriel hears screaming, he can’t tell if it’s his or Feyre’s as that shield of air collapses and lets the High Lady and Lord in. Rhys is yelling something, Azriel thinks it’s his name but he can’t tell. He doesn’t know anything, anything but pain and the female in his arms.
Azriel dreamt of fire. Oily slick all over his skin that lit on the tip of a match, burning and burning, it wouldn’t stop no matter how he screamed or how he begged. It kept burning, the scars on his hand melting away till there was nothing left but bone. He’s reaching, flesh melting away, reaching through the flames towards a female on the other side of the dark room, she’s burning, she’s the match to his skin, but he keeps reaching for her.
Everything hurts, his skin, his throat, his heart. That’s the first thing he registers as he wakes, the second is pure panic.
His eyes fly open and he’s searching, sending out shadows, looking for the burning female. It briefly connects that he’s in his bed in the house of wind, that the sun is peaking through the drawn curtains.
“Relax, brother.”
Azriel’s eyes find Cassian sitting in a chair beside his bed, “Where is she?”
Cassian sighs, leaning forward in his seat to rest his arms over his knees, “Why am I not surprised? She’s okay, she’s sleeping in her room across the hall.”
He feels it then, the tendril of shadow that sneaks through the gap in her door, it finds her, and it wraps around her wrist, a tether between them that he can feel right next to his heart.
“How long have we been out?” Azriel asks, his voice rasping.
Cassian hands him a glass of water off the nightstand, “You’ve been in and out for almost two days now. I got here with Madja after you and Y/n collapsed. You went half feral when I tried to take her out of your arms to let Madja look at you. It took both me and Rhys to hold you down, you were screaming at us to let you go, to not touch her. I think you told Rhys you’d rip his head off if he got near her.”
Azriel didn’t remember any of it, he only remembered the pain and the fear as he’d held her, “How bad was the damage?”
“Not as bad as it should be, with the way you were screaming, Rhys wasn’t sure there’d be anything left of you.” Cassian frowns down at the bedsheets, no doubt imagining just that, “Madja was able to heal most of the burns already, the few on your chest will take longer but she doesn’t think they’ll scar to badly. Rhys has a theory that even when she was possessed by that damned book Y/n was able to put a shield between you two, trying to protect you. I think you’re just a lucky bastard.”
“How is she?”
At that his brother’s eyes shutter, and the panic is back in Azriel’s chest. No, no, she had to be alright, she was there, on the other side of that shadowy tether, breathing, alive. He’s pushing himself up off the bed, ignoring the screaming pain beneath the bandages across his chest.
He snarls, “Cass tell me-“
Cassian holds up his hands, “Just please promise me you won’t freak, okay?”
“What’s wrong with her?” Azriel asks, forcing himself to breathe, to calm the hell down.
“She was burning up, her internal temperature was so high, Madja was scared she would burnout,” Cassian describes slowly, “we had to keep filling up the bath with cold water, it would steam and disappear almost instantly. It took hours for her temperature to drop enough for Madja to even touch her to begin examining her. Physically, she’s mostly fine, there’s some damage to her vocal chords, some burns along her arms and back that will heal in time. But she hasn’t woken up, not once since she collapsed. Rhys and Feyre can’t get past that protection spell on her to check on her mind, they don’t know when she’ll wake up.”
There’s a silent ending to the sentence that his brother won’t say, and Azriel can infer it on his own based on the half broken look Cassian gives him. His heart is pounding in his chest, and he’s yanking on that tether. She’s there on the other side of it, alive, she’s alive, she’s alive. He repeats it over and over as the panic locks up his whole body, as Cassian’s unspoken words echo through his head.
They don’t know if she’ll wake up.
It was a battle of wills to get up out of his bed. Cassian was about ready to strap Azriel to the gods damned thing when Az had used a shadow to throw his brother away from him.
“That’s not fair!” Cassian struggles against the creature, “Madja said you needed to rest. You’ll go and open up your wounds and end up with a damned infection!”
Azriel grimaces as he stands up, “I don’t care.”
“Az! Damnit,” Cassian groans, “You stubborn bastard, sit the fuck down.”
Azriel ignores him, limping towards the door on unsteady legs, body screaming in pain at each step. He didn’t care, he needs to see her, to see with his own eyes that she was okay, to scream at her to wake the fuck up so he could scream at her again for being so reckless.
“Mother help me I swear,” Cassian breaks away from the shadowy hold, “You’re not even dressed for gods sake.”
He was in his undershorts, upper body wrapped in white bandages. It was good enough.
Cassian swears loudly as Azriel almost falls, wrapping his arms around his brother to keep him upright. Azriel groans when his wounds come into contact with Cassian’s arms. It was agony.
“I told you,” Cassian growls, “Now will you please just lay down.”
“No. Just help me over there,” Azriel snarls, Cassian opens his mouth to argue and Azriel sends him a pleading look, “Please, Cass, I need to see her, I- please.”
His brother searches his face, whatever Cassian sees in his eyes has him sighing, “Fuck, fine, fine. Put your arm over my shoulder.”
Azriel complies, letting Cassian support most of his weight. They struggle through the door and across the hall, her door opens, revealing a irate Mor.
“You couldn’t have put some pants on first?” She opens the door wider to let them in, “You two are loud enough to be heard across the Sidra, fighting like a bunch of dogs.”
Azriel ignores her, finding the sleeping female in the center of the room. She looks small, frail, swallowed whole by the humorously large bed. The only indication that she’s even alive is the slight rise and fall of her chest, the beating heart he can feel from across the room. His shadow is still wrapped around her wrist, caressing the pulse point, counting each beat.
He pulls away from his brother, moving slowly across the room where he basically collapses on the edge of her bed. His scarred hands reach for her, replacing that little shadow. Her hand is so cold between his, a stark contrast to the raging fire she’d been days ago.
“We’ll be in the hall,” Mor says softly behind him, “let us know if you need anything.”
He doesn’t respond, doesn’t register the door opening and closing behind him, just stares at the beautiful female beside him. Her face is relaxed, no pain, no tears, no sign that anything is wrong. Yet she still sleeps.
She’s dreaming, dreaming, sleeping, she’s dreaming of you, his tendril of shadow whispers in his ear, her heart skips when she hears your voice.
His fingers find that pulse point on her wrist and he whispers, “hey there, princess.”
There’s the smallest flutter beneath his finger tips and he could cry. She could hear him at least, she wasn’t locked away from him.
“I could scream,” he says, keeping his voice low, only for her to hear, “could scream and scream at you for being so reckless, for jumping into the flames head first, for almost getting yourself killed-“
He takes a deep breath to steady himself, “You are not leaving me, not like that, we will get you home safe and sound, but you’re not dying on me, you’re not allowed to do that to me.”
There was something there on the other side of that little string of fate. So he wrapped his hand around it and pulled, ripping it towards him, tying it to his heart.
“Come back,” he begs, “you’ve got to come back.”
He pulls and and pulls and pulls, “Where are you at, princess?”
And there, on the other side of that shadowy string, he feels the faintest tug.

Wasn't she sixteen...?
Tumblr media
masterlist
summary: when you are on a mission with your uncle Steve, you accidentally become part of a large, secret Hydra experiment, and suddenly, you return to the compound as a toddler…
pairing: Winterwidow x adopted daughter teen/toddler reader
warnings: none I think
genre: fluff
words: 3333
a/n: I remember reading something with the reader turning into a toddler a long time ago, and the idea always stuck with me. I figured it would be really cute to do it with an adopted reader, because it means that Natasha and Bucky have never taken care of a toddler

 |——————————— ⴵ ———————————|
A simple mission. That is what Fury said. A simple data collection. In and out.
“Simple,” Steve scoffed as her carried a sleeping 2 year old in his arms. As it turns out, the mission was not as simple as Fury had initially stated. The Hydra base was in fact, not empty, and you, were in fact, not ready.
Fury had assured Natasha and Bucky you would be fine. You had been with the Avengers since you were 11. You had been fighting your entire life before that, and now you were with the Avengers and all you wanted was to follow in the footsteps of your adoptive parents.
Natasha and Bucky couldn’t be more proud, yet they also couldn’t be more worried.
You had never been on a mission before. Natasha and Bucky deemed them to dangerous, and you were only 16. They didn’t want you on missions until you were at least a legal adult.
You were upset of course when they told you, but it didn’t take you long before you understood. Missions were dangerous, and despite your upbringing, you were simply not ready yet.
However, when Fury came to Natasha and Bucky with a file, which contained an easy mission, they decided you were allowed to go.
It would be a quick in and out mission. There wouldn’t be any danger and your uncle Steve would be with you. Everything would be fine, except it wasn’t.
The mission appeared to be more complicated than Fury had originally thought, and the Hydra base seemed to be anything but abandoned. The scouts Fury had sent out prior to the mission had been deceived. It was a trap, for you.
You had Steve had gone inside the base, finding the control room and copying the data.
However, when you were copying the data Steve heard strange noises coming from the hallway. He told you to stay put and finish the data transfer while he went to check.
You did as he said, continuing to transfer all the data from the computer.
However, once the screen displayed 100 percent, all electricity in the room fell away. The door fell shut, and a red light was all that lit up the room.
You pulled the usb out of the computer in a haste, trying to see if you could get the door open. You were unsuccessful, and despite your training, you were starting to panic. You could hear grunts and blows landing not far from your location and so you figured Steve was fighting off multiple Hydra agents.
After you unsuccessfully tried to open the door, you took a step back, taking a deep breath and emptying your mind. You tried to remember what you father told you.
“Don’t dwell on situations gone wrong. Accept the unexpected. Don’t stand around whining. Try to find another way.”
You could hear your father’s voice in your head, repeating the things he had taught you. Don’t dwell on the situation, you repeated in your head as you turned around, scanning the room to try and find something else that could help you.
It didn’t take long before you spotted the end of a vent in the ceiling, and after pushing the large computer from the desk, you moved it over to the wall.
You climbed to stand on top of the desk as you inspected the vent, figuring you could fit through if you managed to get it open.
The metal was screwed into the wall rather tightly, and the vent wouldn’t budge as you tried your best to pull it open. While focusing on the vent, you failed to notice Steve trying to talk to you through the door.
Once you heard him yell your name, you turned around, jumping off the desk and making your way to the door.
“It’s a trap! They’re gonna do something to you!” you heard Steve yell as he tried to get the door open. He too failed to open the door, despite his super soldier serum.
You ran back to the desk, climbing on it once more and trying to open the vent with much more force than before. This was supposed to be an easy mission. You wanted to make your parents proud. You’ll be damned if you get trapped back with Hydra because of it.
However, after you tried your absolute best to get the vent open, you still failed, and the red lights in the room started to flicker as an alarm could be heard.
Smoke started to fill the room and you tried to hold your breath for as long as you could.
It didn’t take long before you had to breath again, and as soon as you did you felt the smoke work its was inside, infecting your brain and your senses. You lost your balance and fell off the desk, unable to break your fall as the smoke fogged up your brain, confusion taking over.
You tried to stand. To get to the door. To get to uncle Steve, but it was worthless.
You laid on the floor until you lost consciousness.
After the smoke had taken effect on you, the alarm stopped. The smoke disappeared from the room and the red light returned to normal. The door sprung open and Steve rushed inside.
However, what he found was not exactly what he was expecting.
There you were, sitting on the ground with a pile of suit around you. You were no longer sixteen, you were a toddler. You looked to be around two, and because only your body had shrunken, the suit you were once wearing was way to big, and so it piled up around you.
Once you saw your uncle Steve your recognised him immediately, even in this from, and you giggled and smiled as you reached your little arms up.
Steve picked you up quickly, rushing back to the Quinjet and discarding of your suit, wrapping you in a warm blanket instead. You had a few cuts and bruises on your little body but they didn’t seem to bother you in the slightest as you giggled and laughed while playing with Steve’s beard.
He sighed as set the coordinates for the Quinjet back to the Avengers tower, contemplating on how the hell he was going to explain this to Natasha and Bucky.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Once Bucky and Natasha heard that the Quinjet was landing, they rushed to meet you, wanting to hold you in their arms and assure themselves you were safe.
However, when Steve walked off the Quinjet, a confused and guilty look on his face while carrying a little child, they could only think the worse. Natasha and Bucky rushed over to Steve, asking what had happened to their child. They needed to know you were safe.
Steve chuckled dryly as he held your tiny form up, and the moment you saw Natasha and Bucky you started smiling, reaching for Natasha, wanting your mama to hold you.
Natasha took you from Steve confused, before she took a good look at the toddlers face and realised that it was indeed, you.
“Y/n?!” Natasha exclaimed confused.
“Mommy!” you giggled happily as you buried your face into her shoulder, exhausted from the journey.
“Wasn’t she sixteen when we sent her with you…?” Bucky asked confused, a dangerous tone hidden underneath his playful one.
“Well, you see, she got hit with some kind of strange gas and now… well… she turned into a toddler…” Steve explained, scratching the back of his head while avoiding to make eye contact.
“What…?” Natasha asked even more confused, rubbing your back gently as you fussed before you settled down again.
“I don’t know what happened. The Hydra base we were at was not abandoned, but they didn’t try to hurt us. I left her alone for just a minute while I went to fight other Hydra agents off, and when I came back, well…” he finished, motioning to your sleeping form.
“I’m really sorry…” Steve added apologetically as he looked down.
Bucky took a deep breath before laying his hand on his best friend’s shoulder.
“We’ll go and see Bruce. Hopefully he can help us reverse it,” Bucky stated. Steve looked up at him confused, before he noticed Natasha’s massive smile while she interacted with your younger self. Maybe this wasn’t all bad.
-------------------------------------------------------------
After speaking with Bruce and Tony, Natasha and Bucky found out that your little form was reversible, but that it would simply take time. They stated that eventually the effects of the gas would wear off, and then you’d be back to your normal, teenager form again.
Natasha and Bucky thanked them as they made their way to the living room, you still happily in Natasha’s arms.
Bucky had already started planning an entire mental list of all the things they would have to get for you. I mean, you were two years old and the only thing that adorned your little body was the fuzzy blanket from the Quinjet.
There weren’t any clothes for you. There wasn’t anything in the Avengers tower for a two year old.
On top of that, Natasha and Bucky had never taken care of a toddler before. You were eleven when the Avengers saved you, and you were eleven when you were adopted by Natasha and Bucky. They didn’t know the first thing about taking care of a young child.
While Bucky rummaged in the kitchen, trying to find something appropriate for you to eat, Natasha sat on the couch with you in her lap, playing peek a boo while you giggled and tried to copy her movements.
Bucky eventually settled on grabbing you an apple, coming back from the kitchen and handing it to you.
Natasha gave him an unimpressed look when you took the apple from Bucky’s hand, studying it for a second before holding it back up to Bucky. Bucky looked confused, sending Natasha a glance for help.
“She’s two, James,” Natasha simply stated as Bucky hesitantly took the apple back.
“Daddy cut,” you stated as you pointed at the apple, and Bucky immediately realised how stupid he had been.
He went back into the kitchen, hearing you giggle as Natasha stated, ‘stupid daddy,’ in a playful tone. Once he returned with the apple, cut this time, he sat beside Natasha, holding the little bowl while you reached for a piece.
You happily munched on your apple slice while you laid down on Natasha’s chest.
Perhaps they should lay you down for a nap soon.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Clint had heard about what had happened to you. He had immediately started digging around in the old clothes from Lila and Nathaniel. The clothes they had kept from Lila were all baby clothes, and so he settled on just grabbing some of Nathaniel’s clothes.
He arrived at the compound quickly, finding you still sitting on the couch, finishing your last apple slice.
Natasha held you close as she softly rocked you back and forth, a happy and content smile on her face. She loved you more than anything in the world. She loved your shopping trips, your determination when you insisted on certain songs during car rides. Your ability to make Bucky say yes to whatever you asked. But she could not deny how much she had longed to hold you in your younger years.
Holding you, in your two year old form, was everything she had ever wanted.
You were so small. So fragile. So young. Natasha was more than grateful that she gets to experience you being so small as well.
Clint smiled at the sight, walking into the living area and sitting on a chair close to Natasha and Bucky.
“She’s adorable,” he stated as he got a good look at you.
Your little head perked up at the sound of his voice. “Uhncle Clint!” You stated happily, tripping over your words as they came out as a mushed up mess.
“Hello there tiny,” Clint responded as he smiled at you.
“I got you some of Nathaniel’s old clothes. I couldn’t find anything from Lila’s but I figured this will do for now,” Clint explained to Natasha and Bucky as he handed Bucky the clothes.
You little arm immediately reached towards the pile of clothes, sitting up straight in Natasha’s lap as you pulled the clothing items out of the perfect pile, wanting to see all of them. Eventually, you reached for a shirt with little planets on it. You held it up to Natasha.
“On mama,” you stated firmly, to which Natasha laughed while she helped you into the shirt.
Eventually, you were happily dressed in a miss matching set of pajamas, leaning into Natasha again as your eyes started to fall close.
“I think it’s time for a nap,” Natasha stated as she stood up, holding you tightly to her chest as she made her way towards hers and Bucky’s bedroom. Bucky followed her as they went into the bedroom, Natasha laying you on the bed.
“Do two year olds wear diapers…?” Bucky asked, deep in thought while he contemplated putting a diaper on you or not.
Natasha let out a huff of amusement before handing a diaper to Bucky.
“Yes they do,” she stated as she sat down on the bed, making sure you kept laying down as Bucky gave her a confused look.
“Well go on dad, put a diaper on your kid,” Natasha stated playfully, listening to your giggles as Bucky’s face heated up.
“I don’t know how…” Bucky stated, a little embarrassed.
“Come on super soldier, I’ll talk you through it. It’s not that hard,” Natasha explained as she motioned for Bucky to get to work.
-------------------------------------------------------------
After Bucky’s diaper adventure you were asleep pretty quickly, all the excitement from the day catching up to you as you slept peacefully on the big bed. Natasha had laid pillows all around you, building some kind of wall to ensure you wouldn’t roll out of the bed while you slept.
After you were down and content, Natasha had offered to go to the mall to pick out a few necessities for you. Bucky had reluctantly agreed, even though he was terrified to take care of you. You were only a little baby, and he was terrified to hurt you.
Natasha had assured him that he would do great, and Clint had offered to stay nearby incase Bucky would need anything.
And so, Natasha happily went to the mall, shopping in all the baby stores as she put way to many objects in her basket. She had never had such an experience before. Sure, she occasionally picked up a thing or two for Clint’s kids, but getting to pick out stuff for her own little girl felt entirely different.
She had already received a dozen texts while she was gone, all from Bucky as he slightly panicked with every sound or movement you made.
Natasha chuckled to herself as she read through the texts, assuring Bucky you were fine and that you were just sleeping like any normal toddler would.
“Are you looking for anything specific?”
The question pulled Natasha away from her phone, turning to look at the woman beside her. She had a kind smile on her face as she scanned the objects in Natasha’s basket.
“Oh, uhm, I’m not sure,” Natasha stated, giving the woman a smile back.
“Your first child?” the woman asked, and Natasha nodded with a bright smile on her face.
“It was unexpected, to say the least,” she chuckled at her own joke, watching the woman’s face as she smiled kindly.
“How old is she?” the woman asked, judging by the basket contents that you were a girl.
“Two,” Natasha stated as she picked up another set of pajamas, the pattern a collection of different cartoon drawings of your favourite animal.
“It’s a great age. I loved it when my kids were that age,” the woman told Natasha.
“Children that age often want comfort items. Does she have anything like a stuffed animal, or maybe a special blanket?” the woman suggested, and Natasha thought for a moment before shaking her head.
“No, I suppose she doesn’t. I should probably pick one up for her,” she stated as she gave the woman another smile, moving to walk over to the stuffed animal section.
The woman trailed behind her and guided her towards a collection of adorable bears, all dressed in various pajama sets that were sold around the store.
“You could get one with the same pajamas as your daughter,” the woman explained excitedly, picking up a bear dressed in the same pajamas that Natasha had picked out earlier.
Natasha took the bear, thanking the woman before making her way to check out.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Once Natasha arrived back at the Avengers tower the first thing she noticed was how the common area was a chaos. Clint and Wanda were looking around while Bucky just paced around panicking.
Natasha walked over to Bucky, a determination to calm her boyfriend down before he would have a mental breakdown.
“Y/n’s gone,” Bucky stated as he say Natasha come into view.
Clint immediately turned around upon hearing Bucky’s words, letting out a chuckle and walking over to Natasha as well.
“For the record, y/n is not gone, she is simply playing hide and seek,” Clint started, looking around. “And she’s damn good at it…”
Natasha laughed as she set her bags on the couch.
“Y/n? Sweetie, it’s mommy. I have some things for you,” Natasha stated in a sing songy voice, her ears immediately perking up when she heard your excited giggles coming from her right.
There you were, running as fast as your little legs could take you, straight for Natasha’s lap.
You jumped up on the couch, climbing onto Natasha as you hugged her tightly.
“Mommy!” you exclaimed happily, giggling as Natasha attacked your face with kisses.
“Was my little princess hiding from daddy?” Natasha asked as you nodded, still giggling as you pointed over to Bucky.
“Daddy not finding me!” you exclaimed, stretching out to give Natasha a kiss on her cheek.
Bucky sighed with relief as he moved to sit down beside you two, his large hand stroking your back, it almost being as big as your entire back. You giggled and pushed yourself away from Natasha, using her shoulders to push yourself up so you could give Bucky a kiss as well.
“I best at hid and seeking,” you stated proudly, and Bucky chuckled as he nodded, giving you a kiss on your forehead.
“Look what I have for you my little malyshka,” Natasha said as she reached into the bag, pulling the stuffed animal from the bag and handing it over to you.
You smiled brightly, immediately hugging the bear tightly to your chest when you got it into your hands.
“Matching pajamas…” Bucky stated with amusement as he pulled the pajama set from the bag, holding it up for you and Natasha to see.
You gasped in excitement as reached over to it.
“On mommy, on,” you stated as you managed to get the pajamas in your hands.
Natasha chuckled and helped you out of Nathaniel’s old clothes, ripping open the packaging of the new pajamas and helping you put them on.
“I look like bear!” you exclaimed happily as you looked at yourself, holding up your bear for Natasha and Bucky to see.
“Yes you do doll,” Bucky stated as he pulled you into his lap, showering your face with kisses.
Both Natasha and Bucky would never say it out loud, but they hoped you would stay a two year old for a little while longer, loving the new domestic feeling it gave them to raise a little kid. Of course, they loved you and they would be more than happy when you were to turn back into your teenage self, but they couldn’t deny the fact that they wanted to enjoy holding your little form for as long as possible.

Shelby said a lot during her stream, teetering from honorable to downright strange, and I want to address some of the issues. Before I say anything, I am still supportive of Shelby’s story, but this stream revealed a lot to me. I especially push Shelby supporters to read this, as this stream pushed MANY people I know to a neutral stance.
Shelby claimed having a depressive disorder just involved "feeling depressed", which is a harmful misconception that minimizes our struggles. Depression is more than feeling sad, and is categorized as being "different from regular mood changes and feelings about everyday life." It can involve constant hopelessness, angry outbursts, loss of motivation in most activities, and can lead to fluctuating weights, suicidal ideations, and self-sabotaging. To say "we all feel a little depressed sometimes" is to dismiss the lifelong struggles people with depression go through.
Shelby also implies that people with mental illness cannot change, and that recovery is not possible if your depression has hurt others. Not only is that an incredibly harmful idea to spread, it's blatantly incorrect. Just as habits and thoughts are trained throughout your life, they can also be untrained. There is genuine psychological basis in this, and to say that recovery is impossible is scientifically false. Personalities shift our entire lives, and changes in our physical and mental environments help us train new habits. This is part of the reason we try forming better schedules in new environments, and why a consistently stressful environment can bloom negative habits.
People don't chose to have mental illness, and if you're never taught to handle it, it can be extremely easy to hurt others. The most powerful tool to recovery is believing you can be better, and Shelby telling people to not even try is just enabling self-destructive people to hurt others for the rest of their lives. Change is a long process, but it's absolutely possible- Something as simple as a disruption in your life, a wake up call, and a drive to be a better person are the first steps to kickstarting change.
Shelby’s claims are very strange considering the rest of the stream. Earlier, she went on a rant about content creator’s influence on teenagers. She acknowledged teenagers are impressionable, and that it’s important to take care of those looking up to you. She recognized her fanbase was mainly teenagers, many of whom struggle from mental illness. It feels backwards to emphasize being a good role model before telling thousands of kids that their mental illness makes them a bad person. Her statement was about treating people with kindness no matter what, but she couldn’t keep that energy for people with depression.
Shelby herself was able to find help in therapy, so to deny that others should seek help feels selfish. She also confirmed on stream that she's seen the informative resources people sent her, and that she has ignored them. I can excuse the stereotyping if she's willing to be educated, but she's made it clear she believes she’s right. This is one thing I cannot defend, and I can't forgive her for slandering myself and thousands of struggling teens’ progress to their faces.
One final thing Shelby mentioned was that we should wait for evidence, and it's alright to feel doubtful. I want to revisit her statement with the current evidence we have, that I will take with a grain of salt by her own request. With the proof we have, nothing that Shelby claims comes across as abusive outside of the biting.
Shelby said she would get locked in his house at times. UK houses need a key to unlock the inside, and Wilbur likely only had one. While at his house, Shelby had access to her phone, and there were ways she could communicate with him or call for help if this was a problem. We have no evidence to claim that he trapped her. Shelby also stated her family never met Wilbur, because she had to travel to meet him. It wouldn't be unreasonable to stay in his house for an extended amount of time, and that was entirely her choice. She certainly might have felt neglected, but to claim that it was entrapment is baseless.
Wilbur was also busy with tours, absent nearly 200 days of the year. Feeling lonely makes sense, but raising that as abusive and holding it against him is ridiculous. As a famous musician, Wilbur has obligations that he legally can't drop. This was something she needed to be aware of when pursuing a relationship with him. She's allowed to wish things were different, but genuinely expecting him to abandon his lifelong passion is more than a little strange. This doesn't detract from her feelings, but to hold his legal obligations over his head when she should’ve known he'd be busy is unreasonable.
Shelby has also made a point of publicly shaming his hygiene. The inability to care for yourself and your space is a common symptom of depression. It was kind of her to clean, but her words imply she thinks he's just lazy. She explicitly notes that Wilbur didn’t expect her to clean, but that he waited for her to clean. This is weird to specify, as people with depression typically don't make plans to clean for long periods of time. She likely just assumed his inaction was a sign for her to do it, rather than something he struggled with and had no plans to do anyway. I don't think she was right for shaming his depressive habits, and I don't think he was right for dismissing her help. However, the comments he made about her cleaning very strongly imply that he never had plans to clean either way. This just reads as a choice to help out, not expectation or pressure.
Based on the evidence we have now, the points Shelby made just come across as her dating a mentally ill man and not being prepared for the challenges that come with that. Her family never met him, and he was very busy, so there wasn’t much outside opinion she could get. It's reasonable for her to feel neglected, but that doesn't necessarily mean it was intentional harm. It's important for both parties to get help, to communicate what happened and talk about their feelings. Wilbur stated he was committed to talking with her and addressing her concerns, while Shelby blocked him and refused to communicate, despite telling him she wanted to remain friends. All she's done since is reject his apology (even though he made a statement, not an apology, for legal reasons) and ignore his requests to speak. This avoidance to communicate is likely why the lines of consent and expectation were blurred in their relationship, as they've both expressed an inability to communicate.
This was not written to discredit Shelby's experience, I do believe she has trauma. However, you can absolutely be traumatized by relationships that weren't necessarily abusive. I've experienced years of PTSD from completely fabricated nightmares, and have trauma from repeated hallucinations of my ex. She’s not lying about her feelings- But between the contradictions, refusing to talk with Wilbur about an apology, and the insistence to "communicate” despite the fact that she blocked him, I can't support Shelby's actions.
I will always fight to uplift victims, and I am sympathetic of her story, but I can't defend someone who makes no effort to communicate or educate herself before speaking. Until either of them presents something that is beyond "he said, she said" I will remain neutral. I think they both deserve a chance to change and talk about this privately, and I will be waiting for a better response in the mean time. There was clearly miscommunication, and this was brought to us prematurely (shown by her contradicting statements.) I urge you all to look at the evidence and hopefully come to a similar conclusion. You can feel for someone's experiences and sympathize with their mental state without endorsing them. Stay safe, be kind, and don't jump to any conclusions. 🤍

As the Ocean Lures Intro Post
Tumblr media
As the Ocean Lures is an interactive novel about being a Merfolk. You will go on hunts, learn more about humans, and perhaps explore the land above.
As the Ocean Lures is a 16+ game with themes that may be triggering to audiences. This includes drowning, murder, death, body horror, dark humor towards death, potential transphobia, and the MC will exhibit sadistic traits with certain choices. This will be updated as the game goes on.
This game is loosely inspired by the Little Mermaid, and has taken inspiration from games like Beyond The Waves and Abysm's Veil.
CHECK OUT THE DEMO HERE!
Tumblr media
Everyone has heard of sirens. Mysterious humanlike beasts who use their powerful singing voice to lure sailors to their untimely death. However, the only thing modern mythology mistaked was the fact that sirens retained bird-like features rather than fish tails.
You, on the other hand, are a Merfolk. As a Merfolk, you maintain most of the qualities often associated with mermaids and "sirens". With your family, you work to bring down sailors using your voice and abilities under the sea.
But do you actually want this fate? Is this what you want for the rest of your life?
It was.
At least, that was what you had always thought.
When you meet a captain who is dead set on showing you everything about the surface, you are quite literally pushed into a whole new world.  And you discover that perhaps the human world...is not as bad as you were told.
But now you have a dilemma. Will you question everything you know? Or will you remain a part of the ocean?
Tumblr media
Customize who you are as a Merfolk, from gender, pronouns, looks and personality.
Helping your family to sink ships full of sailors (or not...)
Watch a captain drown or save them from certain death.
Maintain your relationships with your family—follow what you have been told your whole life or go against everything they have taught you.
Romance one of four characters: your best merfriend, the strange siren who assists your family on their hunts, the human captain you saved(?) or that royal who seems to love spending time by the sea...or no one since being a Merfolk is already hard as it is.
Will you live out of the sea or under the sea? The choice is yours.
Tumblr media
Kai/Kaia (He/him or She/her): The Best Merfriend
Your best...er, merfriend. You have known them your entire life and they remain a constant in your life. K has always been interested in the surface, whether you agreed with them or not. If given an opportunity—any, really—to go on land, they would jump at the chance. Friendly and caring, K is loyal to a fault, never-ending when it comes to you and your family. But is there something underlying your friendship? Guess you'll have to find out.
Echo (They/them): The Siren
Echo is...in short terms, a mystery. They first came to your family's rescue during one of the worst hunts of your life, and has stuck around ever since.  Your mother treats them like her sixth child, though you are sure the sentiment is not reciprocated. Despite knowing Echo for almost eight months, you have yet to learn anything about them beyond their name and pronouns. It seems like they don't want to get attached to you or your family.  They are professional, keeping away from personal questions. Will you be able to break down their walls?
Louis/Eloise (He/him or She/her): The Royal
You don't know much about them, besides knowing they are the heir to the throne of Oceanic. They can sometimes be found standing by the ocean on their private beach, eyes closed as if they are in another world. They address the world with such maturity, garnering them fans across the kingdom. And it certainly helps that they are attractive. Many look forward to the day they take the throne from their father.
Anthony/Anne Maddox (He/him or She/her): The Captain
The captain who you (or someone else) saved from certain death. They once claimed mermaids existed, which brought a reputation that preceded them.  To prove it, they recruited a group of sailors to join them. The day they sailed out was the day you found them, the only survivor. A has a knack for getting into trouble, as well as a sense for adventure. Now knowing you exist, they want to show you the human world. Will you let them?

A Dash of Villainy within a Hero, Part One
Some warning ahead for attempted kidnapping, non-con drug use (not on the main character) and attempted murder, as well as being stuck under a collapsed building in the beginning, please take care of yourselves.
Edit because I'm a forgetful gremlin: This story was inspired by one of the prompts @entrophiceffects sent in. Thank you for that!
***
In all honesty, being stuck under a collapsed building with a villain was rather high on your 'would like to avoid' list, though it was just a tick above 'being stuck under a building alone'. At least you had your mandated mask with you to avoid breathing in anything bad.
Sadly, you weren't stuck with a two-bit villain or a newbie or someone you could have brushed aside. Instead, you were forced to try and keep your distance – as much as the small space allowed – to Madness.
Madness was a very dangerous, very high profile villain. The sort of villain that came with a file big enough to commit murder with. The sort of villain no hero was supposed to take on alone.
You stared at him as he shifted restlessly, the pocket the two of you were in just big enough for him to stand up. Neither of you dared to move much though, and you had to admit you had never seen the villain as tense as he was now.
Madness had never once bothered with a mask or helmet like other villains and heroes. He had always blatantly displayed his face, though no one had been able to find out anything about him either. Not his name or place of birth, not even a damn picture anywhere in any records.
If he ever went shopping he did so without being seen.
His face, right now, was a rigid grimace of badly suppressed fear and you had no idea if he had some sort of claustrophobia or if he was scared of the building collapsing the rest of the way. Which, fair enough.
The only reason you weren't visibly freaking out yourself was that your best friend was right outside. Song was guaranteed to have left to go get help, which meant you just had to avoid doing anything that would disrupt the fragile stillness of the space around you.
You just had sit tight and wait and not think about the building that could finish collapsing at any moment. Deep down, you hoped it would at least be a fast death.
So you hid your shaking hands by pressing them against your slightly trembling thighs and you forced your breathing to remain slow and steady despite your fearfully pounding heart. The way The Defenders taught all their heroes to handle themselves if they were ever stuck somewhere dangerous and had to wait for help.
It was weird, though. The building would have never crumbled had your fellow hero Quake not misaimed his powers. Which was strange, like all heroes Quake had gotten thoroughly trained by The Defenders to ensure he had his powers perfectly under control. They were meant to rescue civilians after all, not endanger them. Or each other.
That Madness had gotten caught in the line of fire had been...unfortunate, to put it mildly. Or maybe Quake had aimed for him in the first place and had just...what, overlooked you?
You had to admit that you didn't like Quake very much. He was clearly interested in your best bud Song and was trying to flirt with her. Song found him nice enough without being interested in more, but something about him rubbed you the wrong way.
Or maybe you were just a bit of a jealous twat, since he never wanted you around whenever he talked to your best friend.
"Sit down," you said after watching Madness twitch again. "Take a deep breath."
Madness' gaze snapped to you, sharp and dangerous as always. "What, are you worried I'm going to do something inadvisable?" Ho boy, he was high strung. Not that you could blame him.
The truth was, you didn't really worry about him lashing out. While you had absolutely no defenses against Madness' powers – barely anyone did – you actually had the upper hand in the current situation.
If Madness made you go, well, mad, you were liable to disrupt the space around you and kill the both of you by making this pocket cave in. You, on the other hand, only needed one touch and he'd be out like a light.
"I'm not worried about you," you said, trying to aim for reassuring and ending up sounding just a little tense and annoyed instead.
It was hard to sound nice and sweet and calming while being stuck under tones of concrete and steel and glass and wood. Besides, this was a man who had left plenty of your colleagues recovering from severe injuries. You weren't really interested in being nice to him of all people.
Madness raised a brow and studied you for a second, seemingly distracted from his intense tension for a moment. "Curious. I would have thought you heroes would pick fights no matter what. Even when it's ill advised."
You frowned at him. "Says the man who messes with anyone's head." Just this morning, before this entire awful situation, he had brought his powers down on an entire street, causing mindless panic and mayhem among civilians.
"Temporarily," he said with a careless shrug. "Oh, don't look at me like that. It's not like they'll remember the nightmares I put into their heads once they snap out of it."
While that was true, people never remembered why they had screamed their heads off and ran away in a blind panic, they still got hurt. Madness might not break minds, but he certainly caused his fare share of broken bodies.
It was nothing but dumb luck that people hadn't yet run into traffic in their mad, uncontrollable fear and desperation. Either that or he was calculating enough that the chance of such injury was low. Low but never impossible.
"But people do get hurt," you pointed out.
Madness smiled and it looked more like a baring of teeth. "Isn't that what heroes are for," he said sarcastically. "Saving all these innocents."
Dark anger sparked to life like the sudden fall of a hammer onto hot iron. It spread sharp and fast and you had always been bad at holding back when someone pissed you off. Song was always the one to either intervene or soften you back down from the jagged edges that rose to coat your tongue whenever you got furious.
"I don't want to always be saving people," you snapped out and for just a brief second Madness looked surprised and taken aback. "I don't want to clean up your messes just because you decided to be an asshole."
"Then why be a hero?" Madness asked, shifting to adjust his stance, the tension in his body ramping up. He was ready for a fight. "If you don't care."
"I do care," you answered with growing anger, words hard and fast, like an animal snapping its teeth. "But don't you dare push the responsibility of your actions onto me."
You were ready to act yourself, as stupid as it was to fight here, but the anger bit deeper and sharper, spilling out all the words you wished you could say when days were dark and grim. When villains gloated and blamed and gaslit and did anything but take responsibility.
When Song didn't get out of bed, fighting with lingering pain after a villain had shattered both her legs and it had taken both multiple surgeries and heroes with healing powers to get her walking again. When you wanted to shout at people to stop being at each other's throat. To stop making their quarrels your problem by targeting innocents.
A muscle in Madness' jaw ticked and his pale violet eyes became a dark lavender, his power suddenly heavy and cloying in the air.
"And yet you heroes insist on carrying the world on your shoulders," he sneered, voice growing low with his own anger. "You meddling, self-righteous pricks. Maybe you should have thought about what you are actually capable of before you took up the mantle."
"And you don't get to be a piece of shit and walk away saying 'oh, but I only was shitty because you didn't stop me'." You even ended up doing a mock-low voice as you snarled back at him, your voice coming out with an intensity you had only ever been capable of in emergencies.
Madness lifted his chin, looking ready to throw hands, when there was the grind of concrete and both of you fell silent, nervously watching the ceiling. He coughed as some more dust rained down between the cracks, grimacing at whatever taste was coating his tongue.
You had a spare mask, every hero did, but you didn't particularly want to hand it over. Not to him, not to this asshole. But Song would.
Taking a deep breath that came out more like an aggravated sigh, you grudgingly reached into your back pocket and pulled out the spare mask.
You knew Song would have offered it to Madness right away, but she was always the better one between the two of you. There was a reason why she was your anchor and lodestone. Your compass when your mind grew dark and your heart wavered. When you felt like you couldn't trust yourself to keep doing the good thing.
When, for once, you wanted to pay back every inch or hurt you and your friend had to endure. When you wanted to take your pound of flesh from the villains, instead of having it ripped from your mind and body by them.
You would never agree with others that being a hero meant sacrificing, meant burdening yourself and living only to rescue and protect others. And you would most certainly never bend and concede to villains.
"Here," you tossed the mask at Madness, who caught it with the sort of startled expression that told you he had expected something dangerous. You didn't bother hiding the way you rolled your eyes. "Now sit down and play tic-tac-toe with me, asshole."
"What." It came out flat, but he did put the mask on and once you folded your legs to sit cross-legged, he ever so slowly did the same.
You drew a little grid into the dust and after an incredulous look, Madness caved. It became obvious very quickly that both of you were competitive assholes and you upgraded from tic-tac-toe to checkers with little pebbles and at last chess.
You were shoddy at chess though and no challenge, so you went back to checkers. You were on your tenth round when there was a rumble in the air. You easily recognized the sort of shift in gravity and density that heralded telekinetic powers and you breathed a sigh of relief. Help had come.
At the same time, there was a dull whirring sound from below. A moment later, the ground shifted beside Madness and very slowly and very carefully, a little robot dug its way out.
"Found you!" the robot exclaimed with a voice you could identify easily enough as Doctor's. Huh, you hadn't known the two villains were allies. "Come on, let's get out of here."
"Is that safe?" Madness asked and the robot made a little pffft noise, already burrowing back into the hole. It was frighteningly fast in widening it far enough for a person of Madness' stature to squeeze through like a worm.
"I'll drag you," the robot said cheerfully, small arms extending to grab Madness around the collar. "Let's go!"
"Bye," Madness managed to say as he was pulled into the hole. Just in time as well, for the rubble shifted, power humming in the air, creating an opening for you to duck through.
You hurriedly left the space behind and the second you emerged from that little pocket, strong arms wound around you, crushing you against a soft chest and tough armor, while big wings wrapped around you.
"Hey, Nightingale," you said quietly into her shoulder, hugging her back just as tightly, breathing a sigh of relief. Your voice came out trembling, "Knew you'd get me out."
"Always," she answered and hid you with her wings until all the repressed fear and worry and tension shivered out of you. Since she didn't usher you into an alley or anything of the sort for privacy, no one was around to ask why the two of you were hugging for such a long time.
When at last you pulled back, she asked, "What happened to Madness? Did he hurt you?"
"No, he got away," you said, which was true enough. You cast her a look that told her you'd tell her everything later and she threw an arm over your shoulders, one of her wings coming up to curl around you.
Her wings were beautifully big, arching over her head and each one was easily as large as she was. She always kept them tight to her spine when she was walking outside, to avoid the ends trailing in the dirt. That was why the two of you kept your shared apartment very clean so she could relax at home at least.
She led you out from the rubble sheltered corner and you saw that only one other hero was around. Gravitos, who must have been the one to dig you out. She was on her phone, talking to The Defenders, you'd guess, saying that no one else was in the area and that crews could arrive to clean up and clear the street.
"You good?" she asked and when you nodded, offered a small smile. "I'm glad. Man, but Quake is lucky the building was closed for renovations. Otherwise we'd have a lot of deaths on our hands."
Which would most likely cost Quake his Defender contract and official hero license. You still had no idea if he had planned to hit the building like that, but either way, the way he had used his powers had been negligent at best.
Gravitos accompanied you back to The Defenders headquarter, the large hero hiring company where pretty much everyone was under contract. It was for the best really, the company protected heroes from lawsuits – unless it was proven they acted maliciously – and offered all the gear, gadgets and medical care they needed.
After a quick check-in in the med bay and debrief with your superior, you were ready to get out of costume and go home. Song didn't leave your side, staying close enough that you felt the brush of her wing every so often. It was reassuring and calming.
If she strayed too far, you suddenly felt the weight of the building around you and you felt fear seize your heart again. You just wanted to go home, where no one would look at you. No one would stare and judge and you could sit outside. Maybe even sleep outside tonight.
"Nightingale!" Quake's voice made the two of you pause and you felt a fissure of irritated tension wrapping around your spine. Quake was friendly and, well, fine, but something about him irked you endlessly. Aside from burying you under ruble, that was.
He offered Song a charming, hopeful smile and while you would never hold her back from a date, she wasn't interested and you hoped he'd get the memo one of these days. Besides, he had once said that he found it weird that you two were such good friends.
'It's almost like you're more than that,' he had once said. As if friendships couldn't be just as meaningful as romantic relationships.
Song was your family and she had been your best friend since her first day in middle school. After moving to the city and being the pretty, tall, winged new girl, she could have had any friend she wanted, but the second she had seen you being bullied, she had taken your side.
You still vividly remembered the large wings, arching to shield you and force your bullies to back up or get whacked in the head, feathers fluffing to make her look even bigger.
No one had ever stood up for you, but here she was, defending you with unyielding ferocity. She had remained at your side afterwards, one wing always slightly extended and for the first time, you didn't have to worry about anyone tossing anything at your back.
And there she had stayed throughout the day and there she had been the next day and before you had known it, you had your first proper friend since kindergarten. Elementary school had been fine, but you hadn't really clicked with any of the kids there and middle school had swiftly become your waking nightmare.
Until Song and her steadfast loyalty and fierce friendship. The two of you had stuck together through anything and everything and you were a package deal. Both of you had made sure to haggle for team contracts when The Defenders had hired you.
Besides, while Song was fast and strong, her true power laid in her voice. She was one of the few who could go up against Madness' abilities, but she needed a little bit of time for her voice to unfold fully.
Which was where you came in. You were fast and maybe you were a bit vicious and mean when it came to villains. You ensured nothing and no one interrupted her, that she wouldn't have to worry about protecting her own back.
Besides, if people focused on Song, they forgot to focus on you and you had possibly smirked a bit too much when you had taken those folks out. It wasn't your fault they forgot that, while Song could sing an entire street asleep, you needed but a touch to knock people out or leave them unable to fight with your electricity.
One of Song's wings arched to settle around you again as she stared down Quake. "Sorry, Quake, we're on our way out. Besides, I think you owe my friend an apology."
He suddenly looked chagrinned and bashful. "Sorry," he muttered at you. You couldn't help but think that he didn't really mean it. Then again, you were too tired to go and pick a fight, so you just hummed something that could be vaguely interpreted as acceptance.
Quake immediately turned back to Song. "I just wanted to ask if you'd like to meet up later."
So he was finally asking her out directly. It was a surprise that he had waited that long, considering is somewhat brash personality, but maybe he was just a little shy when it came to romance. Or Song intimidated him, she could be just as brash in return after all.
"Sorry, no," Song said, wing settling more firmly around you, surrounding you in warmth and softness and the familiar scent of fresh air and sunshine.
"The weekend, then?" Quake asked hopefully and Song shook her head, not even pretending to think about it. You almost felt bad for him. Almost.
"No, thank you," she said more firmly and you saw his smile flicker, before he shrugged, pretending to be unaffected.
"You know where to find me if you change your mind," he said and quickly stepped back, leaving with a wave.
Song gently pushed you onward with her wing. "I was hoping he'd give up on his own. Come on, let's go home."
Song ordered some takeout on the way home, which arrived a couple of minutes after you finally were back in your cozy apartment. It was bigger than most people would consider necessary for two people, but Song's wings needed space and you didn't want her to feel cramped.
Besides, a hero's salary at your level was nothing to sneeze at, so you might as well get a place where you both could stretch out and be comfortable.
You spent the evening on the couch with her, sheltered under a big, warm wing and your comfort movies playing on TV one after another.
"Madness was stuck with me," you ended up mumbling as, at last, you felt your exhaustion catch up with you. "He was an asshole."
"No surprise there," Song said and you slumped a bit more against her side, your head on her shoulder. "How did he get out?"
"Doctor came for him," you murmured, eyes falling shut. "Didn't know they got along."
If she answered, you didn't hear her as you swiftly fell asleep. You did have nightmares, but every time you woke up, gasping for air and terrified to see a building crumbled above you with the heavy weight of impending death, there were soft, warm wings.
You clung to the feathers and slowly calmed back down. Song wasn't holding you, but she was close and snoring softly, both wings wrapped loosely around you. They'd be sore in the morning, but you felt helplessly glad that she was here. Keeping you safe in whatever ways she could.
*.*.*
Quake, while having gotten the message that Song wasn't interested, now seemed intent to at least be Song's friend.
Just hers, though, not yours.
You only realized what Quake was successfully trying to do when you started to back off the moment he showed up, giving them space to chat. It was clear he didn't much like you. Song started to frown a little whenever she noticed you leaving, a wing getting extended as an invitation for you to stay.
Frowning to yourself, you wondered if you were too clingy. It wasn't like you spent every day, all day with Song, but you were a team out in the field, which was perfectly normal. There were other duos or even trios or bigger teams that never switched their members out.
"Hey," Song approached you just as you got ready to clock out and head home a month after the collapsed building incident. "Would you mind waiting? Quake said there is a problem with some of the ceiling panels in the training room. Two fell down and one nearly nailed a training newbie in the head."
She pointedly flexed her wings. "I'll take a look and check if any others are liable to fall, so the training hall can still be used until someone can come in to fix them."
You would have waited for her any other day, but the two of you were low on groceries and depending on how long this took her, the stores might be closed by the time you went home. "I'll head out first and get our fridge stocked back up," you said. "Anything you want for dinner?"
She perked up at that since she hated cooking, but you loved it. "Anything you want. Your food is amazing." Your friend had let you know more than once that she would fully support you if you wanted to switch careers from heroism to being a chef.
"This shouldn't take me too long, hopefully," she said and with a brush of the tip of her flight feathers against your shoulder, she was gone.
You left swiftly and you were already two streets away from the hero headquarters, when you realized you had left your phone in the locker room. Groaning, you turned around and trudged back towards the building.
Instead of taking the main doors and dealing with people you took a side entrance, swiping your card to be let in. The side entrance was usually reserved for people who wanted to avoid attention, especially paparazzi attention.
Quietly slipping through the hallways, you took some backdoors and an old staircase to avoid running into any of your colleagues. You just wanted to dip in, grab your phone and get out without anyone stopping you along the way.
There were plenty of heroes who didn't hesitate to ask others for help with their paperwork. You could freely admit that most of your colleagues sucked at the whole bureaucracy part of the job.
There were always a couple of heroes stuck in their offices after hours, despairing over documents. Everyone who was done for the day or, god forbid, was actually good at paperwork, learned to get out of dodge fast.
Your quiet path brought you past the communication room and you tip-toed to avoid distracting the people inside accepting calls and alerting heroes about any disturbances or attacks that needed dealing with.
"Dispatching Quake and Nightingale," you overheard a voice say and you paused. "They are taking care of a minor disturbance."
Your nose wrinkled, feeling sorry for Song. That's what happened to anyone who didn't clock out in time. Though, in all fairness, if there was an emergency or a all-hands-on-deck situation, then everyone was called in, no matter what.
You snuck away, lest these guys noticed you and thought you could be dispatched too. You'd make sure to prepare a big dinner for your friend once she came home. You reached the locker room and got your phone without running into a single soul.
You were sneaking down the hall again to leave when you heard a heavy thump and grunt. One of the doors to a small break room was tossed open a moment later.
"Fuck, didn't know she'd be that heavy," a too familiar voice hissed. Quake. Pausing, you frowned and a bad feeling unfolded its wings in your gut. The same bad feeling that had helped you avoid villain attacks in the past. The sort of sixth sense pretty much every hero developed pretty early on.
Shouldn't Quake be heading out? Furthermore, shouldn't Song be with him?
You ducked closer to the wall, just as Quake stepped through the door backwards – dragging your unconscious friend with him. He was grunting and struggling, a wing catching in the doorframe and your heart leapt into your throat. You were moving without much thought and before he could notice you.
All it took was a charged touch to the back of his neck and he went limp, slumping down silently. You caught him and winced as Song fell from his limp arms.
"What the fuck," you whispered, hoisting him over your shoulder to deposit him off to the side. You were quickly checking Song, finding her breathing and heart rate steady. A glance into the room showed two glasses on a side-table, one empty the other mostly full.
Had...had Quake laced her drink? No, surely not. He was a hero. Then again...being a hero didn't mean people couldn't be massive pieces of shit. There had been scandals in the past, after all.
You heard more steps approach from the old, rarely used staircase and you were about to shout for help, when you heard a voice speak up, "He should have waited until she agreed to let him give her a lift home and he had her in his car. How are we supposed to get her to the underground garage with those fucking wings?"
What the fuck was going on here?
You hoisted Song up and back through the door just in time to close it as people rounded the corner.
"Song? Come on, wake up," you hissed, lightly zapping her, but she didn't react. Shit, she really was drugged.
You stared down at your best friend and realized that you had no way of dragging her away before that door got opened by the people outside. Song was heavy, for one. You only came up to her shoulder and she was muscular from long hours of training and flying and her wings were heavy too.
Each wing was as big as she was after all, and right now they were slumped, lying half open. Just alone getting her through a door would take minutes.
Of course you had trained until you were strong enough to drag her anywhere in an emergency and you knew how to deal with her wings when they were flopping all over the place, but that didn't mean it was a particularly fast process.
Mind made up, you swiftly laid her down her beside the door and hid on the other side. The door opened, swinging in your direction and you had ducked around it and had gotten your hands on the two newcomers before they could spot you or call out.
They thudded to the ground and you stared down at two people you had never seen before. They were not fellow heroes.
Pulling them fully inside and ducking outside to get Quake, you left them tied up and muzzled. They'd be out for a bit, but it was better to be safe than sorry. Rooting through their pockets, you found no ID, but a general keycard for the Defenders building, along with a phone on Quake.
Pocketing that, you went back to Song, gripping her and dragging her outside. You were covered in sweat by the time you managed to, ever so carefully, pull her down the stairs and past the communication hub.
You got Song all the way outside the building and into an alley unnoticed, panting heavily. Your first instinct was to bring her home, but...what was going on here? What if your home wasn't safe anymore? Hissing a curse, you pulled out the phone you had nicked from Quake and opened it.
The instructions you found on it were chilling.
Quake had tried to kill you when he had collapsed a building onto you. Quake was to isolate Nightingale if he didn't succeed in killing you, drug her and contact this number once she was down for the count.
Quake had done so, which was when the communication center had gotten the message that they were sent out to deal with a problem. Communications never questioned orders if they came from high up, but only then.
Nightingale was to be handed over and this device destroyed. Quake was to head to the spot where the fake mission was supposed to take place and plant all the necessary evidence, as well as blow enough things sky high, that people believed Nightingale had died.
That they had run into a new, too powerful villain unexpectedly.
It was recommended to kill you first if possible, so no one would question the story. So no one would look into it any further.
You stared at the phone in complete and utter disbelief. Your mind was blank and still for a long second, then something ugly and panicked rose. Something angry.
You pulled out your own phone, snapping pictures of the conversation, of the instructions, before closing your fingers around the burner phone and frying it so viciously it started to catch fire. Dropping it to the ground, you hoisted Song up again and started dragging her further.
You could not return home, but that didn't mean there weren't other spots you could hunker down in. You hotwired a car in a camera-free zone two streets from the headquarters and stuffed Song in, wincing at the cramped space for her wings. There was a reason she had never bothered with getting a license.
By the time you had Song safely in a little hiding spot the two of you had scouted out a year ago, you were exhausted and your mind had run over everything at least a million times. You watched her closely for any signs that something would go wrong as she laid on her side, wings a bit awkwardly draped.
Something was going on here. Something big and bad and it itched at you to go back and find out more. To question Quake.
When Song stirred, you felt ready to sag in relief and maybe cry a little, but instead the anger amped up a bit. When her eyes peeled open, you were perhaps crackling a little, so charged with electricity that you didn't dare touch her.
"What?" Song slurred and you leaned into her view, her tense expression immediately easing with visible relief.
"Take it easy," you said when she slowly managed to sit up, shifting her wings and nearly knocking one into you. Then her eyes widened and you saw the moment memory flooded back. Her gaze snapped up to you, alarmed and horrified and confused and you pressed your lips together grimly for a moment.
"I think something very bad is going on, Song."
*.*.*
See, most people probably wouldn't go straight back to The Defenders headquarters, but neither Song or you were normal. No hero was, you had all lost your sense for normal levels of danger long ago.
Song was landing on the roof, gliding down the last bit to make the descend silent and smooth. She knew exactly which part of the roof was a camera dead zone.
"Be careful," she whispered, reluctantly pulling back. Song was great at an amazing number of things and you loved her for that, but her wings were not made for sneaking around. She was just too big. "I'll stay close by, so don't hesitate to jump out of a window if necessary."
In case someone caught you, she didn't say. You squeezed her arms before stepping back and she took flight again, while you zapped the keycard pad at the door, carefully controlled, which caused it to swing open.
You were so glad you had trained and trained a stupid amount of hours to be able to do that.
The good part was, accessing the building from the roof meant you were closest to the offices of the higher ups. And someone there had to be involved, in order to inform communications about sending heroes out without consulting them first.
Imagine your surprise, therefore, when you slipped through the door into an ostentatious hallway and you saw a very familiar person skulking about. You had no idea how Madness of all people had made it into the hero headquarters, but he was either going to be a problem or...perhaps you could work together.
Just this once and no more, he was an asshole after all.
He was distracted enough that you actually managed to sneak up to him and when he did notice, you were close enough to press a hand to his back. A silent warning, to keep his powers well away from you. Considering the way he tensed all of a sudden, his muscles flexing beneath your palm, he got the message.
"Not sounding the alarm, hero?" he sneered down at you and you realized belatedly that the moment you'd open your mouth, he'd know exactly who you were. ...well, you had already dug your grave, hadn't you?
"Tic-tac-toe," you ended up whispering back, watching his eyes widen briefly. "You don't fuck me over, I don't fuck you over, deal?"
He paused, frowning, "Why are you sneaking around in your own place of work?"
You smiled grimly. "I guess that happens when someone tries to kidnap my friend from the inside."
He stilled, his head tipping slightly to the side and it became impossible to read his face. You could only tell he was thinking rapidly from the way his gaze was flickering between your eyes.
"Alright," he conceded and you cautiously, carefully, removed your hand. His eyes remained pale though, which was a relief. Then again, if he made you go mad, he'd just blow his own cover.
"Do you know if anyone's still here?" you asked and he actually stepped aside a bit to let you sidle up beside him. Which was so weird. You knew that sometimes villains and heroes worked together briefly, but you never had.
"No," Madness whispered back. "Everyone's home as far as I know."
"Then why are we whispering?" you asked quietly and he sent you a look like he thought you were daft. You rolled your eyes and straightened from your crouch beside the wall.
You knew where the cameras were in this building, because maybe you had been involved in a little prank war last year and you had memorized all the camera positions for the sole purpose of not getting caught.
Madness seemed to have decided to stick by you, for he followed you when you wove your way through the hallway, ducking into the first office. There were six in total, each double the size of your apartment, which was just ridiculous.
"Ugh, rich people," you found yourself muttering as you beelined for the desk and the computer.
The moment you sat down in the chair, Madness braced one hand on the backrest and leaned over to watch what you were doing. As the computer booted up, you reminded yourself to not be an asshole to the person willing to not rat you out.
"What are you looking for?" you asked as you were logged in. The higher ups had their passwords saved by default, it seemed. Either that or they were just lazy. And a little bit careless. "I'll help you look."
Madness was silent for a long moment, then he answered, "I'm looking for the Phoenix Project."
You had never heard of that, but you were willing to look. You found no information on either the project or Song on this computer, so you moved on to the next office.
You had to try all of the computers, before, on the very last one, you finally found something. There was one mail, exactly. It had been sent around the time Quake had contacted the person on the other end of the burner phone that he had Song drugged and ready for pickup.
And without Madness, you would have never discovered the mail. It was sent to an anonymous person, with only one sentence: 'The Phoenix has gained its wings.' Below it was the same time and place for pickup that had been on Quake's phone.
"Is that all?" Madness asked, still hushed. He sounded less than pleased. "Are you certain?" But his tone of voice said he knew this was it, he had looked over your shoulder the entire time after all.
"I think we may have to talk," you said quietly, mind whirring. There was something going on, something big. You leaned back a bit to look up at him. "What say you to a temporary truce?"
"Why?" Madness asked with an undertone of sharpness. His smile was unfriendly. "I thought you didn't like me."
You smiled back just as sharply and humorlessly. "I don't." Your mock-smile fell away. "But whatever you're looking into, they were trying to kidnap my friend and sell her as dead to the rest of the world. They tried to kill me too, back when that building collapsed, so no one would look for her."
Madness grew serious, the tense antagonism falling away. "And here I thought it was just my pretty head they wanted dead." He tipped his head again, peering down at you, weighing how honest you were. How willing he was to exchange information.
He stepped back. "Alright. Truce." He then smirked at you. "Let's see if your cute little hero heart can take the truth."
You wondered if it was too late to snap at his throat like an enraged woverine. "We'll see if your lying villain tongue is capable of telling the truth."
His eyes narrowed and you stared back at him, once again in a stalemate where you were close enough to knock him out before he could use his powers. You knew he was the more powerful one between the two of you, normally. That he could leave you a screaming, sobbing mess and you could do nothing about it.
But right now, you had an edge you wouldn't have otherwise.
"We'll just have to see, won't we," Madness muttered back.
The sudden clack of a door opening down the hall and voices filtering in made both of you flinch. You reached out to yank out the power cord of the computer, making it go dark.
Madness shifted beside you, looking ready to fight. "How do you plan to get us out of here?"
You tipped your head towards the window and smiled. "Afraid of heights?"
"Not in the slightest," he said, stepping back to let you stand up. He didn't look away from you and neither did you take your gaze off of him. "Why?"
You forced yourself to break eye contact and head to the window, yanking it open and hopping up onto the windowsill. You hesitated, then held out your hand.
"Are you willing to trust a hero?"
He stared at your hand, then glanced over his shoulder at the voices coming closer. It was impossible to overhear individual words, but it sounded like an argument. He looked back at you, his face impossible to read.
He didn't answer, just reached out to grasp your hand back. He allowed you to pull him close and it became a very squished situation, with both of you crouching on the windowsill. The ground was very, very far away. He was tense beside you, staring down, while you scanned the sky.
The voices in the hallway grew closer still and his tension ramped up. That was when you spotted Song ever so faintly and jumped, pulling him with you.
To his credit, he did not let go of your hand, not as you fell and not when Song swooped in to catch you, carrying you away into the night.
You were surprised that he had been willing to trust you at all and maybe, grudgingly, you respected him a bit for that. Still, you could admit that holding a villain's hand was definitely a first for you.
And, well. Maybe, just maybe, you weren't going to regret offering him a hand when it was all said and done.

On my own…Part 3 (Sully family x reader)
🚨I’m so sorry this took a long time to post and I know it’s short 🥲 I’ve been struggling to find where Y/n’s story will lead so…please! Send in requests for the ending or comment and I’ll just decide from there 😊💓
If you told younger me that older me wouldn’t think highly of my parents…she wouldn’t believe you. Truth was I was holding onto something that was never real.
*8 year old Y/n*
I sat down in the lab room picking at scars and rubbing on my bruises while my siblings played with Spider, which I couldn’t do because I was instructed to stay close by. Norm taught me holidays that were back on earth…they were very beautiful! He gave me pieces of paper to draw what would be done in something called a…classroom? It was for a holiday called father and mother day!
Norm turned to another scientist showing him my work!
“Look at this sweet paper Y/n filled out!
My mom is special because…she’s a loving mom and I love her because she is beautiful!
My dad is the best because….he teaches me how to do things and keeps me good!
My parents are as good as a…flower and heart!”
Both scientist smiled down at the paper before norm moved onto more of Y/n’s work.
“And then she signed it off with her name!…she made these little coupons.
This coupon is good for…time for me and you!”
The other scientist was quick to make a statement about her card.
“Extremely unique for her to come up with that when she doesn’t even know you know the regular statements from back on earth.”
“Definitely! Another one says..
This coupon is good for…I will be good.”
Both of them strangely looked back and forth from the paper and at the sweet girl who minded her business playing with her own bruised skin…how did that end up there?
“She’s always good? I don’t know there’s always something about being good on her work when she comes to visit…like she’s always trying to prove that she’s good?”
The other scientists nodded off to what Norm was saying and decided to calmly approach the young child
“Hello sweetie! How did you get those marks?…were you playing ? Going on an adventure and chasing a wild beast?”
The young girl laughed at the scientists statement before putting her head back down and saying that it was just a fall from playing….it was a bruise Jake had given her when he slightly made her fall to the floor and she hit a rock..*
Oh Eywa…how did I have the strength to love them despite it all. I hope to one day find it in my heart to learn to love again…this isn’t easy anymore. I was so close to death and he sent me away right to it.
When we arrived back home I knew it would be the end of me. I could see it, the shocked look on my parents faces. It was so late my siblings had fallen into slumber, while they had heavy bags on there eyes.
All dad did was shake his head placing his fingers on his temple before telling Neteyam to go back inside..and he did. I had no one to protect me, quite frankly Im beginning to feel like it was all my fault but I had no choice.
“You have been chosen by Eywa my-“
My mother reached for me but I stepped back quickly, still feelings a pinging burning sensation.
“Do not touch me. You-“
I was cut off with a very enraged voice…my fathers.
“Despite what you think you’ve accomplished, you’ve brought shame to this family. Do you have any idea how frustrated and upset everyone is at you?! You are a complete waste Y/n. You seriously believe that THIS will fix you?”
When he reached over to yank me he was instantly burnt…my skin felt so warm. My own body was finally able to protect itself. It didn’t help that his touch also stung me so I hissed at him, stepping back slowly.
Neytiri gasped at Y/n’a hiss and Jake’s burnt hand…she now saw what Jake meant…maybe he really was right. Y/n could hurt the family, regardless of her being their daughter…Neytiri now believes that the daughter that she has was reminiscing and crying for isn’t there anymore. She’s a monster.
“Y/n! You better calm yourself right now. Go inside now.”
I looked at my Father once more, emotionless, frustrated and tired.
“You know what? I will go-“
My own body turned willingly calling for Toruk. They realized what I was doing..
“I meant go inside now. That’s an order Y/n! You’re my daughter and you must listen to me now!”
I could no longer hold in the laughter…how could he keep on pushing it…I mean seriously who’d he think was gonna listen?
“You sent me away to die. Now your ordering me around, going as far to call me daughter? You’re hilarious. How do you believe that you deserve my respect when you’ve done nothing to earn it? If you won’t care neither will I.”
“And what? You think you will earn my respect when all you’ve done was ruin things-“
“What is wrong with you?! I have always tried to live up to your expectations despite it all and you still can’t get out of your own way. They don’t even know what you have done to me all that’s years. What do you think they’ll do when they find out? I’ve kept your bad sides hidden for long enough. You’re pathetic! I feel sorry for you.”
I turn away once again walking towards Toruk…
“Don’t turn your back on me!”
“I should’ve turn my back on you ages ago!”
Toruk throws a flame of fire backing away to not hit anyone or anything, just sending a warning to Jake and Neytiri.
“…you left him as well. Never forget that. You are not loyal and don’t deserve to have as beautiful of a family as you do now. You don’t deserve any of it.”
As Y/n left in the blue night sky, fire erupted from Toruk and you can see the fire along the lines of his wings…he was given her gift instead, he portrayed her emotions perfectly for them.
Anger.
Betrayal.
Sadness.
Y/n knew she’d come back but on her own terms…
!💓!
please send requests for the ending I’m struggling!! 😭

Part Eight

Azriel
It’s just past dawn when Azriel slips back into bed, the dim morning sun illuminates the room in a hazy glow. Aurora stirs, reaching out for him.
“Where’d you go?” she asks sleepily.
Azriel sinks into the warmth and wraps his arms and wings around Aurora - in both protection and comfort. “I had some business to attend to, I’m here now. I’m not going anywhere.”
Aurora gently grabs Azriel’s bandaged hand. “Who did you beat up?” she questions, turning her head to look into his eyes.
“No one that didn’t deserve it,” Azriel answers, kissing Aurora tenderly on her forehead.
Aurora sighs, relaxing further into Azriel’s chest. “Are we training with the others today?”
“I planned to give you some time off, I don’t want you to push yourself.”
“I know, but it gives me something to focus on. It helps to channel everything more healthily.”
Azriel rests his chin against the top of Aurora’s head and sighs deeply. He completely understands where she’s coming from, but in the same breath - his protective instincts were firing and he didn’t want to put her at risk.
“How about we train together, just the two of us? That way, you won’t lose any progress and I won’t worry so much.”
“Okay, deal,” Aurora agrees.
————
The next few days were like a dream.
No, they were better than anything Azriel could have dreamed up. He had his mate, and she was everything and more than he’d ever hoped for.
Their days were split between exercising and lounging around together - either chatting or simply enjoying each other’s presence.
Azriel taught Aurora new fighting techniques and after, she taught him new yoga poses.
With all the training, Azriel was working one muscle harder than the rest - his self-control.
Gods…
The way she moved, how she looked up at him with those big beautiful eyes and that innocent little smile.
Azriel had never yearned for someone like this.
Still, there was one thought that played over and over in his mind. ‘It could have been worse.’
Azriel guessed what Aurora meant by that, but he wasn’t sure Prythian would still exist if his worst fears were confirmed.
Regardless of that glowing thread and the tug in his chest, Azriel would wait for Aurora to make the first move. He’d rather go without those touches forever than push her too far, away from him.
————
Aurora
Ever since the mating bond snapped into place, Azriel had barely left your side. And, he’d never pushed for more intimacy than you were ready for. You truly didn’t understand how you got so lucky, but you thanked the Cauldron every day.
Helion, your uncle, was staying in Velaris to assist in your magic training, alongside Rhys and Amren.
It was strange to spend time with Helion knowing the truth of your heritage, you wondered how you never noticed the resemblance. It seemed so obvious now. It was bittersweet - you were grateful to have him in your life again but it made you wish you’d had more time with both of your parents.
Once you understood how your powers worked and what they could do beyond creating light - it was much easier to start to harness them. It wasn’t long until you were breaking small wards created by your High Lord and his Second.
As well as spell-cleaving, you discovered your magic made a great shield - one that could protect you from even the harsh blast of a Siphon. With your budding confidence and your growing grasp of your powers - everyone agreed it was time to rejoin Valkyrie training.
————
Despite the cold wind rushing around you, you felt warm and at peace. You always did with Azriel. In his arms, you soar above Velaris, making your way to the House of Wind for training. Your first training session with the group since the bond snapped.
You hadn’t seen much of Cassian or Nesta in that time, and you were worried they’d been avoiding you since you revealed your powers.
That worry faded quickly, as you’re met with big smiles from everyone.
Cassian steps forward, moving closer to you and Azriel. “Good to see you, Rory. Let’s see if you’ve kept Az in shape.” Cassian smirks at you and playfully slaps Azriel on the chest. Azriel straightens his back and his wings flare slightly, making him appear even taller.
You glance between the males, and you scrunch your nose, slightly confused. “What do you mean?” You question. “We’ve been training every day.”
“Training eh, is that what you call it?” Cassian chuckles.
Wings flare, and glowing beams of red and blue flash in front of you. The movement stops as Azriel pins Cassian to the ground on his back. Cassian raises his hands, conceding defeat. “I’m sorry Az, chafing much?” he laughs.
Azriel glares as he offers Cassian his hand, helping him to his feet.
From beside you, Nesta rolls her eyes and crosses her arms across her chest. “Illyrian brutes,” she mutters.
Cassian turns to address the group, “Okay, let's warm up and then Rory, you can show us what you’ve learnt in your special training.” One glance at Azriel’s face has Cassian backtracking and raising his palms again, “Oh no, Az, I meant the training with Helion. I promise I won’t joke again.”
The remark makes Nesta scoff, and the pair begin bickering. You smile softly and look up at your mate. Love pours down the bond in both directions. It took a while, but you’ve finally found your family. Both of you have.

"You look, oddly familiar." (surviors! x gn!reader)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
INTRO
A prompt where you knew said Survivor before they came to the manor. Your reason for coming here? Probably because of them.
꒰wc꒱ 1.0k words (grammar and spelling warning, mentions of abuse in Female Dancer’s part.)
Tumblr media
The Enchantress
You and the Enchantress were together a lot as kids, or has your growing age started to wipe your memory clean? Do you struggle to remember such personal moments the two of you shared? Such a shame, as it's been over 5 years and you've yet to trace her location down. Has she disappeared from the world entirely? Seems like it, doesn't it?
Oh. Wait. There's a memory. An old one for sure, but a memory is still a memory. You and Patricia had spent what seemed to be every waking second together. So much so that Patricia's "mother" had started to see you as her own. Another child to take under her wing, and she gladly would. You understand that, right? Had she not taught you enough? The two of you had made a habit of strolling through New Orleans together, knowing almost every face that inhabited every corner of the city. You'd be down there for any number of reasons. To pick something up, to look for new ingredients, or just to look around the place you know by the back of your hand.
If the two of you had spent so much time with each other, then why didn't she tell you where the hell she went? She never left a note, a letter, or even a single clue as to where she ran off. So yes, when you received a letter stating to know her whereabouts you followed. Was it dumb? Oh for sure. But you would take every chance you could get to find her. You didn't even get to go up to her when you spotted her, she already knew.
"I wish you hadn't come," The Enchantress says with her back turned to yours. "but I can't help but be happy that you did." She chimed, turning around with a smile and a strange-looking artifact in her hand.

The Painter
You were there when it all started. You know, his painting thing. At first, he was a mess, paint slobbered all over his hands and face like a child. But I guess he was a child when he first picked up the paintbrush. Who would’ve known he would never put it down?
As Edgar’s talent increased, he started painting other things. Boats in the river, flowers growing outside, people strolling around the park where the two of you frequented. His drawings decorated his room and cluttered his bedroom floor.
For your 12th birthday, little Edgar (in all honesty) had forgotten about your birthday. The thought of it struck his mind at 1 in the morning as he quickly grabbed for his paints before whisking out a canvas. Throwing himself into his work, he produced his first of many portraits of you. From that point forward, it was a tradition for him to paint you for each birthday. No matter how many fights you had over his short temper or accidental paint spills imported from the other side of the country, you still received a packaged painting. Wrapped in fine silk with a “happy birthday” note tucked in between the folds. For you, he spared little to no expense. That is, until he got older.
It has been over two years since you've seen the man and you haven’t received a single portrait since. Arriving at the manor, you find him in the garden alone, painting a familiar portrait.
“It’s nice that you remember my face, as I’m starting to forget yours.” Your voice nearly makes him drop his paintbrush, as he whips around to meet you. You in all your stunning beauty, god, how you’ve grown from the small child he once knew.
Tumblr media
Female Dancer
It is either that you met Nata-Margaretha in Lakeside Village or during your shared time spent in the Hullabaloo circus. Both experiences that you will not forget, but time makes things foggy. It blurs memories that were important to your life that you can no longer recall. But for the sake of going to bed without a piercing migraine tonight, your brain tells you it was during the circus.
Ah, now you're starting to remember things. As memories (some unwanted) come flooding back to you about the circus. A curious place that produced good and bad thoughts. Your mind flashes back to before the accident when time was spent helping Margie (a nickname used widely throughout the circus by many of its performers) tame animals and perform new jaw-dropping tricks to stun the audience.
You remember when your ignorance of what was happening behind closed curtains came crashing down. When Margaretha came crying to you, sobbing that she needed to tell you something. She then began to show you bruises and cuts that littered her body, all deliberately hidden in places that couldn't be noticed unless further expected. To keep it short, you were shocked that "he" could do something this horrible, to decorate her upper body in purple and red marks. It was even more shocking that if anyone noticed, "he" would just brush it off and say that she got hurt while practicing.
At that time, you knew you had to get her and yourself out of there. A lack of knowledge has landed your friend with bruises, cuts, and unwanted love from someone she thought she cared for.
You haven't seen Margaretha since the fire. Actually, you haven't seen anyone since the fire. Not Mike, not Murro, not even Violetta. But following breadcrumbs as to where they all went earned you a one-way ticket to the Oletus Manor, maybe your questions will be answered there.
"Margie?" You almost choke on your words. Seeing her for the first time in so long feels nostalgic. (how old are you again?) She can't even respond, she can’t even believe it's you. All you'll get from her is a death-griping hug and a stained shirt accompanied by her ever-flowing tears.
note: I love you Patricia (writers block is kicking my a rn)

I was wondering if you could write a young Kurt Wagner x fem!reader hc or fic about kurt liking the reader who is really cool and funny and he thinks shes way out of his league, it doesnt help that some of the more extroverted students are always flirting, and he doesnt get how it comes so naturally to them. Anyways he's lowkey jealous and insecure (esspecially bc he looks so different compared to her and the other students) and oblivious to the fact that the reader only has eyes for him!! Angst and fluff are my faves ugh
(+bonus if peter tries to give him advice on how to hit on a girl and its a total trainwreck bc kurt is so obviously not acting like himself and shes lowkey freaked out and trying not to laugh in his face💀)

Kurt was already easily known as the nervous type around people. Didn’t always know what to say, didn’t want to do the wrong thing.
But with you? He was terrified.
Now he knew you weren’t perfect, no one is. But he was pretty sure you were just about close to it.
You were quite beautiful yet weren’t afraid to wear silly expressions. Your laugh was very infectious that even when he wasn’t a part of the conversation, he could feel his cheeks uplifting at just the sound that he recognized from far away.
Kurt didn’t talk to you much but he did always find himself coincidentally in the same area as you. He found it quite admirable how it seemed like you got along with practically everyone and never let anything get you down.
You could say he had a crush.
He wanted to talk to you, to connect about anything, but like mentioned earlier…he was scared. It also didn’t help that he could tell that he wasn’t the only one who had a thing for you. He knew of at least two other guys who were very obvious in their likings of you. But unlike himself, they actually had the guts to talk to you, you’ve laughed with them, shared jokes.
It also didn’t help that Kurt couldn’t help but feel like he looked like a freak most of the time. The tail, the teeth, the blue, sometimes it was hard for him to believe that people could accept him this way—that you could accept him this way.
Despite what he felt, he believed he kept his feelings well hidden, but that wasn’t exactly the case because a certain speedster had caught on quickly.
Kurt had just watched you leave the small group that you had been chatting with, you just about stepped out of the room when a voice suddenly appeared right beside Kurt’s ear. “So when are you planning on puttin’ the moves on?”
Kurt jumped, shocked at the question, “excuse me?”
“Come on, you’ve been pining for weeks, just make your move already.”
Kurt freezes for a moment, but then grabs the man unexpectedly and disappears as a puff of smoke left behind practically dissolves into air. He teleports the two to Kurt’s own room before releasing the speedster.
“You will keep what you know, only between us,” Kurt insisted but Peter was already nodding. “Don’t worry your secret’s safe with me. I actually wanna help you.”
“You want to help me?” Peter nodded again and Kurt couldn’t stop a scoff from escaping past his lips, “because you’re so good at this type of stuff?” Kurt added, tone more sarcastic than positive.
“Hey at least I can talk to ‘em.”
He’s got a point there.
Despite everything in Kurt telling him not to take Peter’s advice he still hung his head in defeat. “Alright, I will accept your help…but what do you get out of this all?”
It was hard for Kurt to believe that Peter was doing this out of the good of his heart, but Peter shrugged. “Bored,” is all he said before clapping his hands together, “okay let’s get started.”
Kurt should’ve known better than to trust Peter. He taught him strange things that he guaranteed would “woo” anybody’s heart and although it all seemed unlikely, Kurt took each and every one of his advice to heart.
The strange way of talking, the attitude that he should carry, all of it he took in until Peter deemed the blue mutant ready.
It wasn’t until the next day while you were seated in a corner of a busy room that the plan went into action.
You were clearly occupied with your head buried in a graphic novel but your attention got deterred when a body sat directly across from you.
Eyes leaving the pages, you were met with a set of bright yellow eyes taking you by surprise, but you quickly collected yourself.
“Oh hey Kurt,” You were trying your best to conceal your surprise at the sight of the man in front of you, especially since typically it seemed like the boy did his best to avoid you, “what’s up?” You asked, setting your book down in your lap but with your thumb holding your place.
Kurt could already feel himself wanting to duck underneath his shoulders and disappear from your view but he fought every urge to do that.
Fighting his instincts he slumped his shoulders down and leaned back trying his best to look what could possibly be perceived as cool. And in that position he let out a line he’d practiced in the mirror the night before, “something must be wrong with my eyes because I can’t take them off of you.”
Your mouth forms a little oh shape as your eyes widen and your eyebrows lift. Kurt obviously can see how shocked you are by his words and he himself could feel his body getting ready to prepare for the cringe he was beginning to feel, but he pushed through and delivered another line, “hey, you’re pretty and I’m cute. Together we’d be pretty cute.”
Oh God, your expression told him all he needed to know about that one. He instantly regretted that one.
Your face contorted from confused to surprised then half amused before you started cracking up.
You were laughing.
You were laughing at him right to his face.
Kurt pushed his teeth together before muttering, “I’m sorry,” he was about to disappear as it seemed that was the only thing he was good at, but you rested a hand on his shoulder stopping him from doing so.
Once you controlled yourself you let out, “I’m sorry, you think I’m pretty?”
His whole demeanor flipped, his shoulders leaned up, his arms suddenly were in his lap as he brought his hands together in the middle.
He knew he said those words but it felt so strange hearing you repeat the line when he technically hadn’t even confessed his feelings yet.
At Kurt’s silence that’s when you spoke up, “I’m sorry I didn’t mean anything by…that,” you said, referencing to your more than little laugh session, “it was all just…unexpected. This,” you waved a hand in the air motioning towards whatever that display was, “just doesn’t seem like you at all, are you okay?”
He felt the air in his throat hitch as he began to panic about what to say next, should he just confess now? Peter didn’t cover this. Should he just relay back to the things Peter had taught him? But with all this thinking he couldn’t come up with something fast enough and instead finally let out a breath.
“It’s not me.”
“Yeah I know,” you chuckled.
He finally seems to relax for the first time since your interaction began and his eyes drift down to your book still in hand.
“What are you reading there?” he asks and your eyes follow where he was looking. “Oh this? It’s just a murder mystery.”
“How is it? Do you like it?”
“Yeah I love murder mysteries, I love when there’s a twist ending but I also love when it ends in a real cliche way. I’ve actually read this one before but the movie for it just came out so I’m rereading it before going to watch it later this week.”
“I’ve actually read that book before too, it’s pretty good.”
“Right?”
“I didn’t know there was a film for it,” Kurt truly meant nothing by that statement, if anything it was more just a way to continue the conversation with you.
“Yeah…did you want to watch it together?”
There was nothing on earth that could’ve predicted this moment for him. He truly had to take a moment, and when he finally came to he just nodded, shock still written on his face. You mirrored his nodding with a smile, “great, it can be a date.”
“A date?”
“Yeah, and you can continue telling me how pretty I am.”
Again he seemed to still be in a daze, “yeah…wait what?”
With that you packed your things and stood up from your spot, “okay I have to head somewhere now but we’ll make plans later, but um, I’ll see you later?”
He blinked a couple times coming out of the trance you seemed to put him under, “yeah.”
“I’ll see you,” you added, taking steps backwards as you exited the room.
“See you.”
“Okay—sorry,” you said to the chair you had accidentally bumped into while you were walking backwards and with that you gave a last wave before finally turning around.
As soon as you left the room in came Peter who surprisingly actually wasn’t listening.
“How’d that go? Did you make your move?”
“…yeah,” Kurt responded eyes stuck to where you last waved to him.
“Did you get a date?”
“Yeah.”
“Is that the only word you know right now?”
“Yeah.”

Halloween prompts no. 14
Danny gets thrown into the Blue Exorcist universe, saw how Rin was being treated and straight up kidnapped him when no one was looking and took him to another dimension/reality/whatever to keep him safe.
Rin, as you can imagine, doesn't take kindly to being kidnapped and tries to roast Phantom. The fact neither understands the others language did not help. Danny, taking a gamble, dropped his phantom form and raised his hands in surrender.
Rinse eyebrow twitched and he asked wtf he thought he was doing. Danny got an idea and raised a finger ask if asking one moment please before bringing out his phone and typing into Google Translate.
Things go better after that, Rins still kinda mad and demanded to be taken home but Danny refused, saying he wasn't going to send him back to a place that would treat him like that! The fight escalated until Danny confessed he died because people ignored the abuse and neglect from his home situation and he terrified Rin will face a similar fate. This finally took the wind out of Rins sails. Rin comforts Danny who may or may not be crying.
This is when the local heros show up because it turns out they landed in the dc universe. They realize they've pretty much melted part of the city they were in during thier fight and scram before anyone can get a good look at them. They're branded as mysterious villains almost immediately.
Danny and Rin take to stealing in order to survive and start teaching eachother thier language so they don't have to keep relying of the translation app. (Also they can't reliably recharge the phone) They're bonding and building up eachothers self esteem. Rin enjoys having someone who let's him protect them as a big brother should and Danny enjoys feeling safe and protected for once in his afterlife. They both start wearing masks and start stealing bigger marks as supervillians in order to survive.
The Justice League Dark is absolutely freaking out because why is a Gahena demon and some kind of Lazarus Pit child working together?? Demons from Gahena never come here cause they shouldn't even be able to and they had no idea Pit People even existed up until now. And why are they stealing such strange things? The bank robberies they understood but the baby food incident? (They stole a bunch of baby food to help the homeless and low income population) The lab thiefts? (Danny recognized the type of machine they were making was designed to be a portal when the press conference about it said nothing about portals. So he stole it and destroyed it cause it was sus.) The JLD knew they were missing something.
Batman himself eventually tracks them down and finds out
1. They are 14 and 15 year olds.
2. Both are traumatized
3. Black hair blue eyes
4. Both have supernatural abilities they can't fully control
5. Both are very sweet and are being more vigilante than villain
Bruce has already mentally signed the adoption papers.
Unfortunately, Danny has bad memories of another billionaire who kept trying to adopt him and is avoiding both him both as Batman and as Bruce Wayne. The boys run in to Harley Quinn and she figured out these kids needed help. She aids in thier language endeavors and if the only reason she knows Japanese as well as she does is from her binging anime for a few months during a quarantine caused by Scarecrow then thats her business.
Anyway, she gives them not-therapy since she can't ethically give them therapy therapy and in exchange they pay her with cash they stole. Neato. Rin eventually gets onto an ADHD medication that suits him and he's doing so much better. He uses a lot of the coping skills aunt harley taught him and its like hes a totally different person. Granted Rin has to take an ungodly high dose for it to work due to his demonic heritage but they make due. They already rob banks, whats a few pharmaceutical companies?
Ivy and Harley pseudo adopt Rin and Danny and sometimes the boys would just come over to Gotham to hang out or play with the pets. Rin loves cooking and has taken over the kitchen in his and dannys safe houses. He does most of the cooking and keeps the kitchen spotless. Danny does the laundry and dusting and they share most other chores. Rins used to having Yukio sleeping in the same room as him so sometimes he sneaks into Dannys room in the middle of the night to sleep on the floor.
Danny keeps waking up and moving him to the bed. Neither say anything about it and Rin assumes he slept walked into the bed and flees before Danny can be woken up and weirded out. Miscommunication! Yay!
Meanwhile the birdie brigade are on thier tails and watching/spying on them every chance they get. They're already making preparations in the manor for two more people.

Her Body Is My Coffin
All your life you'd been told to stay away from the monsters that lurked beyond the gates. They were mean, nasty, and more than happy to eat up anyone as sweet as you. Well, that's what dad told you. He never told you about the monsters that send you hand written poems and pretty flowers attached. He never mentioned how they smelt nice and knew all the right places to kiss you. Too bad for you, because those are the most dangerous ones.
Warnings: Smut, Loss of virginity, fingering, and oral sex! This is a darkfic however this part isn't really that dark!
Series Masterlist
Tumblr media
Your parents had always warned you about the creatures that lived beyond the gate. The big ones with nasty teeth and huge claws that would rip up cute little kids like you if they ever ventured out too far. Mermaids with matted hair and sharp teeth that would swim around your feet and drag you right down to the deepest depths of the ocean. Packs of big, hairy werewolves that'd chase you for hours just to rip you limb from limb with their mates. Witches that were happy to cut you open and use your body parts for all kinds of sick spells. For years, you'd been taught that the only thing between you and a gruesome, untimely death was the magic silver gate that surrounded your city.
What your parents didn't warn you about were the pretty monsters. The ones that magically knew what books you liked or would send you sweet notes with the prettiest handwriting you'd ever seen. Those were the real danger. They could sneak into your heart and make you do all sorts of crazy things. For most, it came in the form of simple things like handing over large sums of money or allowing their mind to be enslaved for the rest of their natural lives. For you, it seemed to be something much more intimate.
This monster, whatever it may have been, wanted your heart.
At first, you didn’t think much of the strange gifts you began to receive. You had many suitors so waking up to random and generally outlandish presents. What separated your ghoulish suitors from others was there was no name attached to anything they had given you. Though it frustrated you a bit at first, you began to appreciate it. You had planned to return the first gift and politely decline the advances, just like all the others, but with no name attached you had to keep it. As the days passed, you couldn’t help but to appreciate the craftsmanship of the bracelet. The symbol that hung in the middle as a trinket was foregin to you, but you wore it regardless. The gifts continued to flow in after that. Each more expensive and grander than the last. Simple jewelry paired with pretty flowers turning into books accompanied with never ending love letters. At one point, the suitor had thrown themes out the window and started buying you just about anything you wanted.
Though you came to accept the gifts with open arms, your curiosity was getting the better of you. You wanted to know who your suitor was. It was a dangerous decision, but you couldn't help yourself. You didn't think there would be any danger —if it was purely for a chance at eating you, they would've done it by now. Plus, whatever it was had some means of getting into the city without being detected. That meant either someone was helping them or they were already living among humans undetected. With next to no information, you set off late at night in an attempt to find your mysterious monster.
You needlessly chose to sneak through your window, somehow assuming it would be easier than walking out the front door. After an awkward bit of wiggling and pushing, you say off towards the edge of the city. The only lead you had was that most monsters dwelled in the woods behind the city. If your suitor was sneaking in, they'd probably be coming from there. The east and west gates were heavily guarded and the north was too risky to sneak in.
The woods south of the city always terrified you as a child. You'd only been out down south once for a dear when you were younger. The evil that dwelled within took its toll on the land — so much so that even small parts of it slipped past the gate. It had become a stark contrast to lush forests and vibrant landscapes you frolicked in as a child. It was dark and cold. The trees twisted and formed into odd shapes. The grass remained dead and a flat beige color year round. Sickening growls and other unsettling sounds would come from deep within it. You never knew what or who was making such noises, but you felt bad for them.
Being back near the gates again had reawakened your fear.
You'd become painfully aware of the fact you were exposed to whatever hid in the forest. The feeling of being watched made your stomach tight. Your plan to investigate had been watered down to surveying the area from a distance. Fear had overtaken you and even walking straight became a struggle. The noises from beyond the gate were getting to you. Labored breathing, the sound of footsteps, even the occasional whimper. Forest monsters weren't typically so cruel. You tried to ignore it. You kept your head down and your mind busy while the creature from beyond toyed with you. But when the whining and rustle of trees mixed with unexplainable squelching, you panicked. You ran back home with any consideration for the slowly waking city.
You hadn't gotten any sleep that night and the only reason your night hadn't been a complete waste was because of an envelope that was set in your windowsill. Initially, you thought your suitor had gone back to romancing you with poetic words, but you weren't disappointed to see a letter. You weren't sure what you expected from it. Maybe a long winded confession or an essay on why you were the most adorable person your suitor ever laid their eyes on.
You received three things in that letter.
One, a confirmation on who and what your suitor was. It was more of an apology for what happened the night before, but you were thankful to put a name to such gifts. Though you had a couple vague ideas of what they may have been, knowing she was a vampire made you even more curious. Her name was Wanda Maximoff. It was a foregin surname you were sure, but you decided to focus more on the fact that she had been the mysterious creature watching you last night. It wasn’t the best apology if you were being honest with yourself. Though she admitted to her wrong doings, she seemed to justify them by rambling on about how cute looked. “Like an unprotected newborn kit being swarmed by an eagle” as she strangely put it.
The second being an invitation to meet properly. Wanda didn’t expect you to be bold enough to meet her without the protection of the gate between you, so she kindly suggested simply talking where you two had first “met” last night. She did mention not wanting to meet until next week. There was no given reason as to why you two could not meet any sooner, but you assumed she’d be off doing important vampire things. Vampires were some of the most organized monsters and you knew they had lineages and collations you couldn’t begin to wrap your head around. If Wanda had money to throw at you just about every day for weeks on end, it would make sense she had some important job among her people.
The third and final gift was a bit more intimate and tangible. It was a polaroid you didn’t notice until it slipped out the envelope. It had fallen face down on the ground. You knelt down and noticed the blood red writing on the back. ‘From thinking about you ♡’ it said in the cutest cursive you’d ever seen. The cuteness of the tiny heart and handwriting did nothing to prepare you for what was one the front of the polaroid. The second you flipped the photo, your mouth went dry. Wanda sat on her knees with her thighs spread apart. Her fingers buried deep inside of herself. You could see the way her slick pooled into the palm of her hand. With her mouth slightly agape, you could see the way her fangs poking out at the inside of her lip. She wanted you and that was simply another declaration of it.
The polaroid had been ingrained into your retinas with how much you stared at it. It made the next eight days a living hell for you. No matter how much you tried to ignore it or actually engage in the things happening around you, your mind always wandered back to it. There were multiple times when you had nearly caved and touched yourself to the thought of how Wanda would treat you. Some days you thought of her as a soft and gentle lover. One ready to please you at all times and happy to ruin you. Other nights you thought of her as a greedy and cruel lover who'd tear you apart and use you for her own pleasure.
By the time your special day came, you had overwhelmed yourself. You frantically searched for the perfect outfit. It had to be cute but not too cute or your parents would ask questions. It couldn't be too revealing or you’d freeze before you even got halfway to your destination. Eventually, you gave up and decided to wear something basic in hopes your vampiric lover wasn’t as high fashion as the ones you saw on TV. You felt strangely protected when leaving out the second time. Though you were sure Wanda was miles away from you, knowing someone was waiting from you made the abandoned and unkept area less scary. There was a bit more pep in your step as you made your way further south. You weren’t even aware of how giddy you were until Wanda pointed it out.
“And here I was worried you wouldn’t show up.” The vampire wore a confident smirk as she emerged from the forest. Wanda casually leaned back against a tree. Before she spoke, she decided to let her eyes roam over your body. Her view had been limited to what little she could see from a distance or behind trees. To be so close with so little blocking her view — it was a magical feeling to say the least. “You can come closer, I won’t bite.” Despite her promise of safety, she couldn’t help but make a show of dragging her tongue across her fangs.
You were sure she’d only done it to scare you a bit, but there was familiar warmth in the pit of your stomach that wasn’t fear. Despite your growing arousal, you inched forward until you were right in front of the gate. “I um,” you nervously cleared your throat before continuing, “I really liked your gifts. Especially the poems, they were really cute.” You struggled to focus on your words as Wanda walked closer towards you. The more you looked, the more out of control your thoughts became. You found yourself particularly interested in her fingers. Memories of that damned polaroid flooded your mind all over again. You couldn’t tell it from the picture, but now it was clear that Wanda took great care of her hands. The skin looked silk smooth and her nails had been painted a matte black. Your favorite part was certainly the complicated rings that decorated each of her fingers.
Wanda stared down at you fondly. She leaned down slightly so you two were face to face. “You won’t find it mentioned in many places, but vampires can read minds.” She couldn’t help but laugh when you jumped back in shock. “Awe, don’t be ashamed, I wouldn’t have sent it if I didn’t want you to think about it.” She hadn’t planned on being so cruel to you, but you were adorable. It was a treat for her. For months she watched all the other girls in the city fawn over you and get whatever reaction from you they could. It was only fair she got a chance to as well.
You turned your head away from the woman in front of you in an attempt to get your thoughts in order. You’d subconsciously taken a few steps back. “Can we just talk?” The fact you’d never actually gone on a date had hit like a ton of bricks. “I mean, you’re really pretty and I want this to go somewhere, but I just don’t know what to do.” You flashed Wanda a nervous smile as your arms swung to the side nervously. “I mean, if that’s boring we could do something else– or you could leave if you want!”
Wanda chuckled softly as she sat down on the ground. “You don’t have to be so nervous, I’ll be here until the sun rises.”
The two of you had talked for hours. Wanda offered undocumented information about the world of vampires and you repaid her with any information about your latest interests. Though you insisted you had more interesting things to talk about, it seemed to be the only thing Wanda wanted to hear about. It didn’t make sense why she cared so much about the shows you watched or the style of the clothes you wore, but you were excited to have someone listen to you. Unfortunately, your conversation was cut short by the sound of an alarm.
You instinctively reached for your phone, only to realize it was Wanda’s. “I didn’t think vampires used phones.”
Wanda giggled at your innocence as she sat up. “The older ones tend to stray away from it, but it comes in handy from time to time.” She stretched her arms over her head and stood up slowly. “As much as I would love to hear about your little misadventures, I must get back home before I burn to death.” There was a comfortable silence between you two. For a moment, Wanda just looked at you. Your hair got a little messed up from laying on the ground and it seemed you were fighting a losing battle with sleep. After what deserved to be an eternity, she signaled for you to put your hands through the bar of the gate. She held the back of your hand and nuzzled her nose into your wrist. Wanda took a deep breath and let your scent fill her nose. “I had a really nice night, I hope we can do this again…same time this weekend?”
The way Wanda looked at you made your heart stop. Her eyes were half lidded, but not like the way they were in that polaroid. They seemed more relaxed. There was something in them that just made you feel so safe. “Yeah, same time this weekend.” You were giddy with laughter when Wanda softly kissed your wrist.
“Just get home safe for me, doll.”
°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°
There weren’t words big enough to describe the way Wanda made you feel. Everything seemed to just fall into place when you were with her. She was irresistible. What was originally just a late night visit on the weekend turned into an every other day thing. If you had it your way, it’d be every day, but Wanda insisted you make up for the sleep you would end up missing the night before. To make up for the insufferable time apart, Wanda had given you her phone number. You found yourself calling and texting her as much as you could for just about any reason you could think of.
It had been a few months into your little arrangement when Wanda suggested you spend a few days over her house. Though you were a little nervous, you accepted the invitation. You had only left the city a few times in your life and you had no clue what lay deep in the forest, no human did. However, you refused to let fear and uncertainty get in the way of your love life. Your brain hardly had any room for fear when you were so caught up in what would happen once you got to Wanda’s house. Cuddling, sharing food, or just being in the same room together. The thought alone made your stomach flutter.
After one awkward climb and a car ride filled with questions, you had your wishes granted.
You were in Wanda’s house. It was a lot bigger than you’d imagined, but it still had that red homey feel you grew to expect from Wanda. The bed in the center was made perfect and decorated with expensive looking red pillows and cozy quilts. You noticed the litany of products sat out on top of the vanity with a tiny red stool in front. There was even a walk-in closet.
"Is this all for me?"
Wanda smiled at the excitement in your voice. "Of course, unless you prefer to sleep in my room." She watched as you looked back between her and the bedroom before you. "I'm kidding, doll, you don't have to choose!" Her arms wrapped around your waist and pulled you in. She attacked your face with kisses. Your mere presence made her house feel infinitely more homey. The thought of you leaving was too much to bear. "Let's get you washed up and ready for dinner, yeah?"
"Oh yeah!" You bent down to tie your shoes only for Wanda to stand you upright. You let your body be guided to the armchair next to your new bed. "Is something wrong?" Despite your worries, you sat down. Maybe there was some weird vampire guest ritual you didn’t know about.
“Pretty dolls like you need help getting dressed, don’t they?” Wanda asked as if she was going to wait for your approval before she began stripping you, but she simply didn’t. You had barely processed what she had asked you by time she had undone the buttons of your shirt and had you completely naked from the waist up. Your arms moved to cover your chest, but Wanda was quick to pin them to the bed. “It’s just you and me, sweet bear, there’s no need to be nervous.” She placed a gentle kiss on your forehead before she dropped to her knees in front of you.
You swallowed a lump in your throat as you watched Wanda. To say you were flustered was an understatement. There was no clear indication of what Wanda was planning. Was she trying to tease you or was this just her way of saying she loved you? Your eyes remained glued to the woman between your thighs as she carefully untied and removed your shoes. It was a strangely intimate interaction. Even if your brain had gone off the rails and into the deepest pits of lust. To have someone take care of you at such a high level made you feel safe. You were out in the middle of nowhere and Wanda could do anything she wanted to you, but she chose to take care of you instead. “I really like this, thank you,” You whispered softly.
“I can tell. Your thoughts get very loud when you’re needy.” Wanda’s hand drifted down to the space between your thighs. She cupped your pussy, letting out a soft groan at how wet you were. "Dinner can wait a bit, yeah?" She bit her lip as her hand slipped past the waistband of your underwear. Eventually, she would stop asking and just take you, but for now she'd at least let you think you could say no. "Oh, you're so wet for me. This is all for me, yeah," She moaned out as her fingers teased your slit.
You nodded in agreement. As much as you trusted Wanda, you couldn't help but be nervous. You were a virgin to the highest degree. A few kisses at the end of dates, but nothing beyond that. Hell, you couldn't even finger yourself properly. You were well aware that you should've told Wanda that, but you didn't want her to hold back. "You can do whatever, I can take it." If you weren't embarrassed by the way your voice cracked and completely gave out on your lie — you certainly were when Wanda laughed at you.
"Oh, sweet thing," Wanda cooed as she peppered kisses up your inner thing, "you're a really bad liar." She stuck out her tongue and slowly licked from your clit all the way up to your navel. Then she kissed down the spit trail she left. Her nose nuzzled into your stomach as she slowly inhaled your scent. "I can smell it." She closed her eyes as if she was thinking. "After I take you, we'll be connected forever." Wanda dragged her tongue up your slit and wrapped it around the throbbing bud at the top.
You shiver at the sudden stimulation. Wanda's tongue proved to be a wonder on its own. Your body twitched and jolted at every movement. The overwhelming wetness leaking out between your legs embarrassed you. A familiar burning began to grow in your stomach. "No, it's too much," You whimpered. You were grateful Wanda was kind enough to lift her head when you pushed her away. When you locked eyes with Wanda everything felt okay. "I- we can keep going, just not like that."
Wanda nodded slowly as she rubbed your thigh. "Let's just do one finger for now, yeah?" She climbed on to the bed and laid back on the pillows. A smile spread across her face when you sat between her legs without her saying a word. "Keep being sweet like that and I might not be able to control myself," She chuckled before placing a firm kiss on your shoulder. Wanda dragged her finger up to your lips and pressed against them. "Get it nice and wet for me, I don't want it to hurt."
Your lips parted slightly, allowing two of Wanda's fingers to slip in with ease. It's a strange feeling. You're barely allowed to suck or move your tongue. You gagged whenever Wanda would thrust her fingers into your mouth. The way Wanda used your mouth was undeniably erotic. Feeling her fingers graze over teeth sent another jolt up your spine. Sitting still became impossible. Your lungs felt as if they were going to explode. You couldn't breathe, but you were more aroused than you'd ever been.
Wanda pulled her fingers out of your mouth and used her free hand to tilt your head up so you were looking at the mirror. "You're such a messy thing," She whispered in your ear as her fingers slipped down between your thighs. Her finger sunk into you with ease. "You're so needy, I can't imagine how you handled yourself before me." She pumped her fingers inside of you slowly, allowing you time to adjust.
You moaned softly at the new found stimulation. The length of Wanda's fingers quickly proved to be more than just aesthetically pleasing. You were already wet before, but Wanda had you forming puddles in mere seconds. "Wanda, please," You squeaked out. You had no clue what you're begging for, but you trusted Wanda would be kind enough to give you whatever you needed.
"Awe, sweet doll, I don't think you can handle much more than this," She teased. Wanda slipped her second finger inside of your pussy. It was near impossible to move with the way you clenched around her fingers. "You sound so good, don't hold back, doll." Her eyes were focused on the mirror in front of her. It was dangerous to have a silver mirror in the house, but if it meant a clear view of your body like this — it was worth the risk. "Look at my perfect doll, you're too cute."
You looked up at the mirror just for a second. Initially, you were shocked by the lack of Wanda's reflection. The shock was immediately taken over by another wave of unfiltered arousal. There you were. Completely naked, sweaty, and being stretched out by seemingly nothing. It was more than enough to send you over the edge. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I can't hold it!"
Wanda leaned forward as you hunched over. "Shh, it's okay. I got you. Just let it happen." She continued pumping her fingers inside of you so you could ride out your orgasm as long as you could. "There we go, just breathe…nice and slow for me." Wanda pulled her fingers out of you using her clean hand to rub your back. "You did so good for me, now let's get you cleaned up."
You hadn't even caught your breath, but part of you craved for more. Maybe it was the giddiness of losing your virginity or maybe it was the fact you could suddenly hear all the dirty thoughts going through Wanda's head. One orgasm certainly wasn't enough, but you knew better to ignore any warnings Wanda had given you. "Okay, but you're gonna have to carry me."
"And I'd be more than happy to."

Iceberg Siren pt 6
**Here we are, lovelies, almost to the penultimate chapter! Hope you like this one!**
“Cricket?”
Danny blinked his eyes open drowsily to look at his boyfriend.
“Hm?”
Jason was propped up on his elbow on the bed, facing Danny.
“You’ve got powers, you told me you do- why don’t you use them?”
Danny blinked again, processing the question for a moment before answering.
“I do use them, though.”
He could tell by the tilting of Jason’s head that his answer wasn’t sufficient, so he thought for a moment more before elaborating.
“My voice is part of it- I cheat a little as the Siren. A friend taught me how to use my voice for mild hypnotism.”
At the other man’s look of alarm, he backtracked.
“I don’t use it for anything bad! Just to make people like me more. I’ve never used it on you, I promise.”
Jason smiled at him and reached out, cupping Danny’s face with one hand.
“I wasn’t worrying about that- does anyone else know about this?”
Danny pressed his face into Jason’s warm palm after a shake of his head.
“No, not even my boss. I only told him about the other powers.”
“Like?”
“Enhanced strength, sensing similar energy, manipulating said energy to a point- nothing I use on a regular basis.”
Nodding slowly, Jason leaned down to capture Danny’s lips in a soft kiss.
“Thank you for telling me.”
His murmur was low against Danny’s lips, and Danny couldn’t help but kiss him again. No, that wasn’t guilt roiling in his gut like some many tentacled beast. He didn’t use his extended powers on a regular basis, and he wasn’t planning on it any time soon.

Duke was confused. Bruce had insisted that the entire family be at dinner- the first strange thing.
Second? Dick and Stephanie seemed to be conspiring with Tim. Tim, who looked more tired than usual (a true accomplishment) and in a foul mood. Damian looked mildly perturbed, and Cass was signing too quickly at Babs for Duke to translate.
They were all milling about in the main foyer, right up until Bruce walked down from his office.
“Thank you all for coming- Jason and his guest are pulling up in the drive. Please make your way to the dining room so we don’t scare them off too soon.”
Oh. This was about Jason’s boyfriend. Duke dutifully made his way to his seat in the dining room, but he watched the double doors closely even as the others filed in.
He heard Alfred open the main door and watched as Jason stepped through into the dining room, and then another man walked in, lighting up the room. Literally. Duke had to close his eyes and fish around in his pocket for his emergency sunglasses.
When he finally had them on, he found the whole family plus newcomer looking at him in concern.
“Dude, you’re like, super bright.”
The Boyfriend laughed self-consciously.
“Sorry about that, it’s in my blood.”
A meta, okay.
“I get that. Just don’t sit right across from me.”
Duke grinned to show he meant his statement as a joke, and Brighter Than The Fucking Sun grinned back.
Jason picked Tim up by his shoulders and put him in the seat across from Duke, and then sat down in Tim’s spot, leaving the spot across from Babs empty for his companion.
“Guys, this is Danny. Danny, these are the Waynes. None of us bite.”
Danny laughed and nudged Jason with his elbow like Jason had made a joke, and then the family dinner commenced.
For all that Duke would have to wear sunglasses around Danny, he seemed to fit in pretty well!

Dani floated above Robin’s head, her long dark ponytail dangling just barely tickling his nose.
The young vigilante’s brow was wrinkled, but otherwise he didn’t react to her messing with him. That was the best part about Robin, he was like Danny in that he just let Dani do what she pleased and didn’t react to anything.
“But Rob, I’m booooored.”
“No, Phantom, we cannot go out and look for your brother. That would require civilian gear, and I am not permitted to reveal my face.”
“But I can reveal mine, and then you can help me look! Superboy says you bats are good with computers, right? You could do like, an image search or something!”
“Genetically, unless you and your brother are identical twins, your face will not match his closely enough for an image search.”
Dani grimaced. She didn’t really want to reveal to anyone else that she was a clone, but she really missed her original.
“What name do you think he would be going by, Phantom?”
“Like I told Green Arrow, his name is my name too. If he’s out as a hero, he’s out as Phantom.”
“No other heroes under the name Phantom have been reported, Phantom.”
Dani sighed and flipped over, gravity taking hold and flipping even more of her ponytail in Robin’s face.
“I just can’t imagine why he hasn’t set up as a hero. I miss my brother, Rob.”
“I am sure he misses you as well. If you could give us a name, we would have more success in finding him.”
She shrugged and floated away, flipping over in the air and landing on her feet.
“If he’s here, he’ll hear me, and I don’t want to pull him away from whatever life he’s made for himself in this dimension. He deserves happiness, and me being around might come in the way of that.”
“But you miss him?”
“He’s the only person I have left from home.”
~~~
Bruce sat at the Watchtower computers with Diana and Clark, watching the numbers flash across the screen.
“So, this means that there’s something powerful on the way?”
Bruce nodded shortly at Diana, frowning beneath the cowl.
“Cyborg has reported that the energy fluctuations have been going on for several months now, and indicate a powerful individual either already in our dimension or on their way. We cannot let out guards down.”
“Has Justice League Dark spoken with the new Teen Titans member? She claimed to be from another dimension, is it her?”
“Clark, she’s a child. Despite the fact that she doesn’t like you, no- there is no evidence that she has the power level that this new possible threat contains.”
“She’s a child with unknown origins and suspicious opinions on clones.”
Diana smacked Clark across the back of the head so Bruce didn’t have to.
All three of them had met Phantom, and only Clark seemed to disapprove of the girl.
“She seems very fond of her teammates. I am firmly of the belief that she would not betray them.”
“We can’t assume the best of everyone, Bruce.”
“Nor can we assume the worst, Superman. Phantom is no danger to us.”
“If you boys could stop squabbling, we have better things to think about.”
~~~
Jason watched as the morning sunrise filtered through the blinds, illuminating Danny’s face as he lay sleeping peacefully on his bed. They had talked about moving in together, but hadn’t made concrete plans yet.
It was probably Jason’s own hesitation and the little secret he was keeping that kept them from making those plans.
Danny’s skin glowed in the light, pale and ethereal. Jason would call him translucent almost.
With gentle fingers, he traced the scars that trailed down his boyfriend’s chest, a harsh pucker of imperfection on otherwise flawless skin.
Danny hadn’t told him what cause him to be dissected, and Jason wasn’t about to ask when his boyfriend was so careful about keeping his scars covered when he was awake. They’d been dating for a while now and only in the last few days had the other man stopped wearing a shirt all the time they were together.
It broke Jason’s heart that the man he loved so much had so much pain in his past- he would talk lovingly of sisters and best friends, but never of his parents, and it seemed he was even more reluctant to discuss the lab accident that gave him his powers.
His League communicator beeped, and he let out a heaving sigh. He hated to leave when Danny was still asleep, but he knew that the JL wouldn’t call him unless it was an emergency. At least his boyfriend wouldn’t be lonely- he was petsitting for his neighbor for a few days.
Jason leaned down to kiss Danny’s forehead and then he made his way out of the apartment through the window, putting his helmet on as he left.
Time to save the world again.
