Shed My Skin: The Story of Polaris
A Magnetic Saga Story
Chapter 6
Author's Note
Warning: Time Jump ahead - Leia
May 2011
Lorna thought LA was hot. New Mexico officially was hell without its supposed humidity. This place was hotter than LA, where Coulson was currently stuck babysitting Tony. Fury had sent her and Clint ahead with a small team due to strange activity they were seeing, the kind she was familiar with. They had signs of Einstein-Rosen Bridge activity, and while this wasn't her area of Physics, she and her mother had seen it before. Then there were the accounts of the mysterious object falling to the planet and the crater, which finding had become top priority. They had received a call about a location and were now on the way to it so they could investigate it.
"Any idea what we're going to find?" Clint asked as he drove them on the desert highway.
"I'm not going to try to guess, Clint," Lorna answered as she looked around her and sighed, barren desert was all she could see.
"At least I made sure no one rode with us."
"I do appreciate that."
"Are you upset you were told to distance yourself from Tony recently?"
"A little if I'm being honest."
"You know Fury may have, also, done it for your personal benefit too. You've been through enough you know and babysitting your brother like this may have been the worst thing for you."
"How do you always know me so well?"
"Because I'm the only person besides Nat that knows just how dark your mind can go."
"And she knows way more than you, Clint."
"There's some things she gets there I don't so I understand that."
Lorna unlatched her seatbelt as the car name to a halt and Clint shut off the ignition. They both got out of the car and walked towards the edge of the crater. There were people everywhere trying to lift the object from where it landed like a modern day Arthurian Legend.
"Clearly these people need King Arthur Legends for Dummies," Lorna quipped, causing Clint to laugh.
"Yes because this is some strange new version of the Sword in the Stone," he responded sarcastically. "Is the Lady of the Lake on vacation or something?"
"My Uncle Charles would appreciate your knowledge of these stories."
"I understand your family literally came to this country direct from England and you're like the first one born here, but I do know things."
"I'm only half British, but King Arthur is still very important to my heritage. Considering we're in a desert I'm going with there is not lady of the lake because it dried up."
"And what role did you always play when being told these stories?"
"Morgana Le Fey, the witch and elder half-sister of Arthur who, also, trained in the old ways at Avalon."
"You say it that way and you make Tony sound a lot like King Arthur."
Lorna laughed, "If you ever say that where he can hear it, Barton, I'll murder you in your sleep. His ego is big enough."
"I swear on Laura and the kids that I won't."
"Thanks, Clint. I'm going down there to get a closer look and check things out from that view."
"I got your six."
Lorna used her powers to fly down to the bottom of the crater and landed next to the object. The crowd distanced themselves from the mutant woman, but then again, the sight of the green field of energy that surrounded her when she flew did tend to freak out most normal humans, especially those not used to mutants.
"Nothing to freak out over," she stated aloud. "I work for SHIELD and mean no harm to anyone. I'm just here to see this."
"Are you some kind of alien or something?" She heard a man ask.
"No, I'm not," she answered. "I'm a mutant."
"Like that Magneto guy?" an elderly man questioned.
"Yes, like him, sir, but I don't ever use my powers to harm others. I use them to help people."
She stepped closer and saw it was a hammer. Then realization dawned on her about exactly what this was. This wasn't just any hammer if it fell to Earth through an Einstein-Rosen Bridge. This was Mjolnir, and it came from Asgard. This meant that there were likely, also, Asgardians present on Earth and in the area. Lorna was going to have no choice but to get her mother involved. This could possibly dig up so much from the past that they wanted to keep buried. This was not good at all. She pulled her cellphone from her pocket and called Clint, now knowing just how dire this situation was.
"What do we have down there, Lor?" He asked, answering the phone by the second ring.
"We need Coulson and the rest of the team here ASAP," she quickly responded. "This is Asgardian."
"I don't know what that means, but are you having to call Fury?"
"And my mother though Nick may try to stop me."
"What should we do until we have the team here?"
"I just need you to observe this, Clint. I need to go and find those scientists that were tracking the Einstein-Rosen Bridge activity."
"And leave me here?"
"You're babysitting a hammer and a bunch of people staring at it or trying to unsuccessfully move it. Yes, I'm leaving you here."
"Who put you in charge?"
"Fury and the reasons are currently classified."
"Dammit. I hate that word."
"Better idea so I can get to the scientists faster. You call Fury and tell him I said we have an Asgardian artifact here. Also, tell him I said we need my mom ASAP."
"Ok I'll do that but no guarantees he'll listen. Are you taking my ride?"
"Nope. I'm going to grab my pack and fly in. I can't leave you stranded, Hawkeye."
"Are you sure this is a good idea, Lorna?"
"Whether it is or isn't doesn't matter right now."
"Why do I get the feeling there's something you're not telling me?"
"Because there kind of is. Please get my backpack ready, Clint. I'll be up there to get it in a couple of minutes."
"I really hope you know what you're doing, Lorna."
She didn't say another word. She just ended the call and slid her phone back into her pocket. She could feel the metal in Mjolnir. Her senses were going crazy. She tried to move it with her powers and it wouldn't budge, proving she was right about what this was. No metal could be denied by her power unless it played by different rules altogether. The hammer that was the weapon or the mighty God of Thunder hailing from Asgard would be something metallic that would not play by normal rules, therefore be completely immune to her power. She had to seek out the scientists tracking the activity of Einstein-Rosen Bridges to find out if anything else fell through one to Earth recently because something told her that Mjolnir didn't come alone.
She flew herself out of the crater and landed in front of Clint, who was leaning against the driver's side door of the car holding her backpack. She walked over to him and took the pack from his hands and slipped it over each shoulder.
"You sure are watching my back," she remarked.
"Come on. You flew down there using your powers! They're all too afraid to bother you," he retorted.
"You'd never respond with an attitude like that, Barton, if you'd lived with people's staring, name calling, and mistreatment the way me and other mutants do."
"Lorna, I...I'm sorry. I wasn't thinking."
"No one ever is."
"I am sorry, Lorna. You know that and my kids are being raised a lot differently. That there should tell you how I truly mean it."
"Clint, I'm sorry too. I'm not as forgiving as I should be when I experience moments like that. I got asked if I was like the Magneto guy."
"Oh, Lorna. I'm so sorry, and it's ok. I know they can't be easy."
"Thank you. I appreciate that and your apology."
"We're friends. I don't want you to ever believe I'd be that out of line on purpose."
"I know you better."
"Good now don't you have some scientists to find?"
"I do. Now you can call Fury and fill him in."
"I got this. You just do what you feel you need to do and I'll have your back no matter what."
Lorna embraced her friend quickly and flashed him a smile before lifting herself into the air to fly away. She had to go about fifty miles East to a town where she would find scientists Dr. Erik Selvig and Jane Foster. She didn't fly like this often. It was a different kind of feeling and freedom honestly. She felt like none of her problems could touch her cage her up in the clouds. When she reached the outskirts of the town, she brought herself to the ground at a steady pace, the green-colored orb of her shield disappearing as she landed. She walked quietly down the street, hoping her outfit of black jeans with a simple black t-shirt, leather jacket, and combat boots would help her blend in as she held onto her backpack. She saw a small group of people outside of a diner and walked towards them.
"All the answers you seek will be yours once I reclaim Mjolnir," she heard the tall, blonde man that she could only describe as an Adonis say and walked towards him.
"It won't be as easy as you think, Odinson," Lorna said to him.
"A friend!" He exclaimed as he picked her up into his arms and hugged her tightly before putting her back down on the ground. "You speak as if you know my home!"
"I've met a few Asgardians but never had the pleasure of a visit. You must be Thor. My name is Lorna Xavier-Stark, and I'm here to help you as a friend."
"Stark as in Tony Stark?" asked the young woman wearing glasses.
"The day my brother's name doesn't come up in these conversations will be my happiest day alive. And, your name would be?"
"Just call me Darcy."
"Nice to meet you then, Darcy. I already know who you are, Dr. Selvig. I grew up with Dr. Hank McCoy for a science teacher."
"You also mentioned Xavier in your name. Are you of any relation to Charles Xavier?" Selvig inquired.
"Charles is my uncle. I'm a mutant, too, before you ask, just not a telepath like him. My powers are much different."
"What can you do?" asked Darcy curiously.
"Darcy!" Jane chastised.
"It's ok, really," Lorna replied with a slight laugh. "That makes you Jane Foster."
"Guilty as charged. You mean that didn't bother you?"
"She's not judging me for being what I am, so no it didn't bother me at all. I can control and manipulate all things metal down to the molecular level, all things except Mjolnir apparently."
"You believe him?" Selvig questions.
"He's not the first Asgardian I've encountered, Dr. Selvig, and I'm a mutant. There's little that truly surprises me."
"Who did you meet?" queried Thor.
"Not my story to tell."
"You said you control metal. Are you related to him, to Magneto?" asked Selvig, causing Lorna to freeze.
"Would it bother you if I was?"
"I'm not really sure."
Lorna examined their faces quietly, able to tell that they were unsure what to think as Thor had definitely thrown some confusion into their lives.
"Erik Lehnsherr is his real name and he is my biological father," Lorna stated. "Howard Stark adopted me when I was two and raised me. He's who I consider my father."
"You're quite honest," Selvig replied.
"To a fault. I'm, also, a Physicist, but my area is Geo- Physics. My son, Jamie, however has dabbled in Astro-Physics."
"You have a son? No way!" came a half shout from Darcy who was shocked and in complete disbelief. "How old is he? Less than ten?"
"Around your age."
"Shut up!"
Lorna burst into laughter as Darcy, Jane, and Dr. Selvig all looked at her as if she were as alien as Thor.
"Exactly how old are you, if I may ask?" inquired Selvig. "Please don't find it rude."
Lorna chuckled, "I don't, Dr. Selvig. I know you're confused. You'd be even more so by my mother. I was born on June 9, 1963. My lack of aging is due to a healing factor in my mutation and the side effects of a serum made from the DNA of a mutant with slowed aging that I allowed Hank to test on me. Hank, also, believes that my DNA has been affected by a healing serum that he created from the DNA of a different mutant who virtually doesn't age at all, yet heals any wound, when it was administered to me during the birth of my son to save me from death due to a dangerous complication I suffered."
"And because of all this you've stopped aging?"
"Almost completely. My mother is in a similar situation. My younger sister Edie's aging is, also, progressing much slower than normal due to the first serum."
"There are people that would kill for this ability and/or serum."
"It's a gift and a curse, Dr. Selvig, that I can assure you."
"I still need to go fifty miles west of here to retrieve Mjolnir," Thor interjected.
"I'm sorry but I can't take you," Jane respond to him.
"Then this is where we say goodbye."
Lorna walked away as Thor began to give his farewells to the group. This New Mexico town was small so it made her wonder what else was in store for it with the arrival of the Asgardian Prince.
"Lady Lorna!" She heard Thor shout from behind her, causing her to turn around.
"Just Lorna is fine, Big guy," She smiled as he approached her.
"Do you have transport?"
"Unfortunately, I don't."
"Then how did you come to arrive here?"
"I can fly."
He raised an eyebrow at her, and Lorna let out a slight laugh. She concentrated on her power, allowing herself to be surrounded by her protective green orb of energy then lifted herself from the ground. He watched her in complete awe of what he was seeing as she hovered a moment before bringing herself back to the ground and the shield surrounding her disappeared.
"You are like a goddess," He spoke in utter shock.
"I an only a woman," She responded with a slight chuckle.
The sound of a horn honking caught their attention, causing them both to turn to find Jane there in her RV.
"Hey, you still need a lift?" She asked.
"Does that also include me?" Lorna inquired as Thor walked around and got in the passenger seat.
"Of course! Get in!"
"Thanks!"
Lorna opened the door to the back and climbed in. She took off her backpack and sat it down next to the seat as she sat down and strapped in.
"I've never done anything like this before," says Jane. "Have either of you done anything like this before?"
"Many times," answered Thor, causing Lorna to giggle. "But, you are brave to do it."
"I've done it, too," added Lorna.
"Well, SHIELD just stole my entire life's work. I don't really have much left to lose," Jane informed them.
"SHIELD did what?" Lorna questioned, starting to slightly shake her head and trying not to get visibly angry.
"This Agent Coulson guy and his people took everything."
"Oh I am very familiar with Agent Coulson. We go way back."
"Who did you say you work for?"
"I didn't. I just said I'm here to help, which is exactly what I plan on doing. I have the ability to do just that."
"Who do you work for?"
"Not relevant, Jane. What matters is that I have the means and ability to help you without breaking the law or landing anyone in prison."
"You sound like the CIA or something."
"Definitely not CIA. The Director hates me."
"Oh my god! You work for SHIELD!"
"I'm technically not here. I do outrank Phil Coulson though. I'll handle it, Jane, just not sure how quickly I can because I'm going to have to call the boss."
"Ha, only a spy talks the way you do. I just appreciate the help."
"You're clever, Jane," Thor observed. "Far more clever than most anyone else in this realm."
Lorna rolled her eyes as she watched a tinge of pink color Jane's cheeks.
"Realm? Realm?" Jane questioned. "Is he serious? And are you some kind of spy or something?"
"You think me strange," Thor perceived as Lorna let out a laugh.
"Yeah. I do."
"Good or bad strange?"
"I'm not quite sure yet."
"You seem pretty harmless to me, Big Guy," Lorna remarked, causing Jane to giggle slightly. "Take it from the mutant, who is also a bit of a spy, that you can't be any more strange than I am."
"Erik raves about this Dr. McCoy and Professor Xavier in the scientific world."
"They're both experts in their field, and two of my younger sisters have gone into science as well. Edie and Freyja have at least chosen science over other fields of study."
"You have sisters? How lovely! I would love to have sisters!" exclaimed Thor before his tone again went glum. "I only have a mischievous brother."
"Oh I have brothers, too, Thor. Tony's already been brought up and Freyja has a twin brother, Fenris. I, also, have another sister named Maria who is a young teenager."
"Ok, you have a big family," Jane commented. "It's just you and Tony on the Stark side, right?"
"Yeah. The others are my mom's but they all have a relationship with Tony because mom is his godmother."
"A sister would have been nice to have," says Thor. "Loki can be nothing but trouble and I still love him dearly anyway."
"That's all siblings. Trust me, Big guy, I'm always threatening to kill Edie or Tony for something because they drive me crazy, not so much with Maria and the twins. I think that's either the age difference or the patience motherhood gave me talking. Yet, I still don't have much of it with Tony or Edie, but they were making me deal with their crap long before I had my son."
"My mother has always said that becoming a mother changes a woman in many ways."
"She's not wrong. It just didn't make Tony or Edie less prone to making me want to beat their skulls in sometimes. Tony doesn't want to grow up, and Edie just enjoys pushing certain buttons of mine."
Jane laughed at the two of them going on about getting annoyed with their siblings.
"What's Tony like?" Jane wondered.
"Oh he's a total pain in the ass," Lorna quipped with a slight laugh. "By the time my son could understand the concept of flirting, I was terrified to leave him alone with Tony."
"Oh my! I can imagine he had you pretty scared of what he might teach him."
"He did but Jamie turned out great."
"That's good. Did Tony help you out with anything besides that kind of stuff?"
"Oh yeah but he enjoyed giving me high blood pressure. Tony is a lot like you see him. He's kind hearted but very stubborn. He truly is a genius though there's times he will make you question that. He does a lot with good intentions and can be shit at thinking things through. He can be the worst at act first, think later. He's also a giant man child. At the same time, that pain in the ass is my brother, and even on his worst days when I want to punch his head through a wall, I love him."
"Wow. That's not the description I ever imagined to get of him."
"That's him in a nutshell."
"And this is your brother?" asked Thor.
"One of my two brothers. He's famous here."
"What for?"
"Developing a lot of things like weapons, technology, and energy product sources for the world," Jane answered before Lorna could even speak. "He was a prodigy."
"What's that."
"Child genius."
"He has a problem with arrogance and his ego, trust me," Lorna stated as she rolled her eyes. "He can be insufferable. "What kind of strange do you think Thor is, Jane?"
"I'm not sure yet. I mean he's promised me answers."
"What kind of answers?"
"Who he is and about my work."
"I told her who I am," Thor responded. "Jane, what you seek, it's a bridge."
"Like an Einstein-Rosen Bridge?"
"More like a Rainbow Bridge."
"God, I hope you're not crazy."
"He isn't," Lorna chimed in. "That's called the Bifrost and Heimdahl watches there as it's guard. He sees all."
"Are you certain you've never been to Asgard?" Thor questioned.
"I am quite certain but the Allfather is not the most pleasant man. Your mother is lovely though."
"You met my parents? Why?"
"Again, Big guy, not my story to tell."
"Ok I hope you're both not crazy now!" Jane exclaimed loudly as they all went silent.
Lorna could hear the anxiety and fear in Jane's voice. Jane was a scientist, which could make believing in things like this more difficult. This could be scary to her. She'd also had her hard work taken away from her by a mysterious government agency. Lorna knew well the woman had a right to be lost and confused because her world was sort of being turned upside down.
The sun had gone down before they reached the crater. SHIELD had put up a perimeter and makeshift base quickly. Thunder was starting to rumble in the night sky, indicative of a storm to come. They all got out of Jane's RV and made their way to the fence line. Lorna observed their curiosity and smiled because sometimes she'd truly forgotten what it was like to be like them and not know things.
"That's no satellite crash!" Jane exclaimed. "They would have hauled the wreckage away. They wouldn't have built a city around it."
"You're exactly right," Lorna remarked with her arms folded across her chest as she approached them.
"Something tells me that you know more than you let on, especially now that I know who you work for."
"I'm sure Lady Lorna wouldn't have don't what this other did to your things. I believe she is on your side," Thor said, trying to reassure Jane.
Lorna grinned, "Thanks for the vote of confidence, Thor. And, Jane, even if I do know more than I let on, you know I can't tell you."
"Jane, state here. Once I have Mjolnir, I will return the items they've stolen from you. Deal?"
"No. Look what's down there," Jane responded. "You think you're just going to walk in, grab our stuff and walk out?"
"No, I'm going to fly out."
"He's not going alone, Jane," Lorna declared with a sly smile as she slipped her backpack on again. "We're going to fly in too."
"You both really are crazy," Jane professed with an exasperated huff.
"So, how shall we do this, Lady Lorna?" Thor inquired.
Lorna took one of his large arms and put it around her small waist, "Hold on tight, Big guy. We're going up."
She allowed her shield to cover them in the green colored orb then concentrated for her power to lift them into the air. They easily were over the fencing so all she had to do was bring them to the ground. Once on the ground, Lorna brought her shield down and stepped away from Thor. He then gave her a friendly smile.
"You would be beloved as a goddess on Asgard," he spoke softly in awe of her powers. "Thank you, Lady Lorna."
"Just Lorna, Big guy," she replied with a smile. "I'm a normal woman. You get Mjolnjr. I'll get Jane's things."
"Should I find you after?"
"Meet me right here."
"I'll be quick."
"As will I."
She watched Thor take off towards Mjolnir in a run as she walked inside the facility where Coulson was waiting on her with his arms crossed over his chest. He didn't look happy with her. She walked up to a desk and got a comm then hooked it up, placing the earpiece in.
"Barton, you in the nest?" She asked over the comm.
"About time you got back, Polaris," he responded.
"And, yes, I am."
"On my way."
Lorna began to walk towards Clint's location when she was stopped by a hand on her arm.
"I don't recall giving you orders, Polaris," Coulson stated.
"Last I checked, Coulson, I outrank you," Lorna retorted quickly. "If this ends up falling under the scope of the Initiative then it belongs to me and you know it."
"Partners on lead?"
"I can compromise on that."
"Go ahead with what you were doing then. I'll stay out of the way."
She gave him a smile before making her way towards the back stairwell that would lead her to what Clint called the nest. SHIELD set up all of these temporary facilities the same, which made it easy for Lorna to find what she was looking for. She quickly ascended the stairs and made her way through the upper tunnel looking for Clint while she listened to the comm chatter. Thor was fighting agent after agent that got in his way, proving his determination. When she reached Clint, he was getting in a basket to bring him closer to the action so she jumped in to join him. Rain was now pouring down on them as electromagnetic energy was pulsing around them. Lorna threw her orb shield up around her to let it catch the lightning that was shooting off Mjolnir. It flowed into her like an energy drug.
"If I knew something to compare that too..." She began.
"What was that?" asked Clint, interrupting her.
"There's electromagnetic energy pulse surges coming off of Mojlnir. I used my shields to absorb some of it."
"And you enjoyed it?"
"It was like a sugar rush from too much candy."
"It made you high?"
"Not like that, Clint, but it sure was a nice surge."
She watched as Clint readied his bow and Thor continued to fight his way to Mjolnir. The area around it was now muddy from the rain.
"Better call it, Coulson, 'cause I'm starting to root for this guy," Clint quipped, causing Lorna to snort out a laugh. "Last chance."
"Wait," came Coulson's response over the comms. "I want to see this."
"Nothing to see, Phil. Mjolnir is protected by ancient Asgardian magic," Lorna stated.
They watched as Thor moved in on Mjolnir but was unable to retrieve it. The hammer would not even budge for him. Lorna's heart felt true pain for the Asgardian as he fell to his knees and let out a primal scream.
"I'm calling it now, Barton," Lorna heard Coulson say into the comms.
"Guess I get to take this guy down after all," Clint remarked dryly as he readied an arrow.
"Make sure it's a tranquilizer, Clint. We need him alive," Lorna commented.
"Know what I'm doing."
Lorna said nothing else as Clint fired the arrow and took Thor down. Coulson had the men put Thor into a cell while Lorna and Clint came out of the nest to where Coulson was waiting to speak with them.
"He's got Special Ops training from somewhere," Coulson said to them as the two walked up.
"No, he doesn't," Lorna quickly responded confidently.
"Boss told me your theories, Lorna."
"If you don't want to believe them, be that way, Coulson. I'm going to bed."
Lorna turned and walked off, straight to the dormitory area I'd the facility. She knew Clint would have grabbed a double and put the rest of her things in there. He became like her big brother rather quickly when she first started working with SHIELD a long time ago so sharing space when it was limited was never an issue for them. She didn't feel like arguing with Coulson, so she was just going to bed. She quickly opened her duffle bag and pulled out the pajamas she had packed, changed clothes, and crawled into the bed without caring about anything else.
Lorna woke up the next morning to see that Clint was already up for the day. She quickly tossed in an outfit from her bag, grabbed her cell phone, hooked up her comm, and left the room. She immediately went looking for Coulson and found him outside the cell that they'd put Thor in.
"Phil, I haven't had any coffee yet, so please don't start on me yet," she addressed him as he looked at her with a slight raised eyebrow.
"Someone find Agent Xavier some coffee," Coulson shouted out.
"Thanks, Phil. Now I'm going to speak with the prisoner myself."
"Be my guest. I'll have your coffee when you come out."
Lorna opened the door to the cell, stepped in, and shut it behind her then looked up to find that Thor wasn't alone. She was looking at a face that she hadn't seen in two decades and never expected to see again.
"What the hell?" She seethed.
"Why, Lorna, you haven't changed at all," spoke the smooth and all to familiar voice of Loki. "How's your mother?"
"Two decades and not a word from you? Seriously, Loki? You bastard! How dare you ask about her!"
"Elizabeth is not here with you?"
"Shut your mouth, Loki, and stop bringing up my mother!"
"You know my brother, Loki? How?" questioned Thor.
"Unfortunately he got involved with my mother."
"If you think Lorna is beautiful, then you should see Elizabeth," Loki grinned.
"I swear, Loki, if you bring her up again I'll..."
Unfortunately for Lorna, Loki disappeared before she could say anything else. She let out a frustrated scream before basically stomping from the cell and pulling her phone out of her pocket. She called her mom. She had no choice. There was no way she could keep her out of this, as too much was now officially at stake.
"Lorna, how is New Mexico?" her mom immediately asked upon answering.
"Fury didn't tell you what see found?" Lorna questioned in response.
"No, he didn't. What's going on?"
"It's Asgardian."
"What do you have?"
Lorna could hear the worried and scared tone in her mother's voice. She knew very well why. Her mother's fears were always legitimate and now they had a solid reason to be growing.
"More like found a problem you have as I just had an encounter with Loki. You and Havok need to get here yesterday and make sure the twins don't sneak on the jet. You know how they are," Lorna explained.
The other end of the phone was silent. She knew hearing that name would get to her mother since they had a bit of a sordid history together.
"Lorna, Alex and I will be there by tonight," Lizzie stated in response. "Do not tell Coulson. Nick Fury and I will, also, be having words later, many of them."
"Oh, I knew you'd be furious when you found out. Hell, so am I," Lorna responded.
"It's because no one else knows, Lorna, and we've kept it secret for the twins' sake. Charles, Hank, Alex, Logan, and Raven knowing has never counted."
"Mom that's because they're all mutants and mutants have a way of protecting each other. It's different."
"I still need this secret kept."
"And it will be. They're my little brother and sister. I will in everything in my power to see that they remain safe."
"Loki can never know about them, Lorna. It's bad enough that any Asgardians do."
"Mom, they're not all bad. I like Thor. He's friendly, kind, funny, and reminds me of an alien Alex mixed with Logan."
"You believe he is good?"
"We never bad bad feelings about Queen Frigga either, mom."
"I'm scared, Lorna I've never worried about Freyja and Fenris being safe until now. I don't like it."
"Just get here and we'll figure it out. I promise."

Author's Note
I'm so sorry this update took forever to get up since this chapter has been completed for some time. I was having some trouble getting it typed up. Chapter 7 is in process writing wise and coming soon! Here's your warning that after the Thor movie events there will be another time jump. I'm very excited for events to come! I hope you enjoy! - Leia

Ok ok ok big question to all Moon Knight fans.
Are you familiar with Marvel's Legion?
If not:
WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH YOUR LIVES AND WHY HASN'T MARVEL MADE A FUCKING CROSSOVER ALREADY THAT'S NOT FAIR!
Big part of s1 is exploring his trauma, past, amnesia and is literally inside his brain so... yeah and full with surrealism and unreliable narrator stuff!

Introduction for the comics
First scene of the show because I fucking love the surrealistic cinematography (tw: unalive attempt)
Dude has both DID and schizophrenia and I my psychotic ass is obsessed! (DID is not a psychotic dissorder but schizophrenia is)
Of course that makes representation really... Uh hard to say the least and confusing but from what I've seen from the show I enjoy it.
(I think in the show he only has schizophrenia)

I was given free will. And with that free will, I make silly little crossovers.
So I made a RDR2 / X-Men crossover because it's a fun idea to make Olivia and Logan cowboys!
The story is so much more, as well though. There's a whole plotline where Logan first realizes that they can suffer brain damage to an extent because Olivia gets shot in the head and the damage done to her brain causes many of her memories to just completely disappear, much like Logan's do when he gets shot.
There's also a lot of Victor Creed in it bc uncle Victor is something I need in my life 😭 I know some people will disagree, but XMCU Victor feels like he'd be a genuinely decent uncle, especially since this takes place WAY before Logan abandons Victor and loses his memories.
It also has lots of Olivia and Logan moments since this takes place in 1899, so again Logan has his memories and knows Liv is his daughter because he was married to hers and Laura's mom (bc Laura is actually Logan's daughter in this fic and not a genetic clone) so this means they have lots of cute moments of their father/daughter relationship
Also Liv wears Logan's old hat. He gave it to her after she suffers the amnesia in hopes that it'll help her with her memories. It doesn't, but it's very special to her despite not remembering he's her dad and she gets really upset and heartbroken when someone takes it. She may not remember him, but the hat is enough to prove to her that he truly does love her and care for her.

This storyline has my whole heart dude. Because while I may love Judas and The Badger (two other fics I'm working on for Liv), this storyline is wholly based on the love that the Howlett-Creed family have for each other. Because even when she loses her memories and barely remembers who her family is or even who she truly is, she still loves them and does all she can for them.
Plus I think a Logan and Arthur friendship is absolutely iconic. Those two men would either be the best of friends or worst enemies, there would be no in between.
Will I make this into a full fledged fic? I don't know yet. But I do know that if I don't, then I'll at the very least make more art that'll explain more of the story if I don't. It'll mostly be on my art blog @m00nz-artpad but I'll also go more into description here.

X-Men/Avengers crossover
(but like make it adoption)
It's almost been a year since I completed my X-Men/Avengers crossover fic where the X-Men are kids and pretty much get adopted by the Avengers. It was a slowburn so I was super happy to finally complete it but wow, it's weird that it's almost a year old. Y'all should check it out if you want! :) Far too Young to be This Old (ao3 fic)

Recoil questions
I saw this on one of my posts and I thought I’d answer it here. @officialthelonelycandaian

So, I actually tried to leave myself open for X Men stuff if I ever wanted to do it.  I made some subtle mentions to Xavier in the story (I think only two: Tony mentioned him by name, and Casey says something along the lines of “We’ve all heard the rumors of upstate-I think this is in chapter two.)
The only thing that’s holding me back (slightly) is what X-men I want to do.  I grew up on 2000′s x-men movies and the tv show.  I know anything x-men related doesn’t need to tie back to the current MCU but idk.... it’s holding me back a bit.  I did enjoy the most recent x-men movies........slightly, but again, I’m not sure.
All this rambling to say that I just don’t know what I want to do yet with x-men.  I do know it just wouldn’t be the turtles, Casey would definitely be in the mix.

Elsewhere - A Crossover Fusion Fic
When a strange event results in a new fractured world, four unlikely friends will find they hold the key to piecing it back together.
I’ve been writing this fic for the past few weeks so I thought I’d give it a shot at advertising it here!
Currently at 2 chapters and 8k words, Elsewhere involves Spider-Man, Quicksilver, Cole, and Laurance doing their best to traverse a new world.

Summary: Amid all Tony Stark's activity with Peter Parker in Civil War and Homecoming...he never registered Spider-Man or Peter under the Sokovia Accords. The consequences come down on Peter six months after Homecoming, and Aunt May learns of Peter's secret identity a much harder way. Now Complete! The Avengers re-assemble, and the alliance between the X-Men and Avengers is sealed thanks in no small part to Peter Parker!
Rating: Mature
Status: [multi-chapter] COMPLETE
My Opinion: Great stuff, about the far reaching issues of the Sokovia accords. Brilliant read.

This will be an interactive drawing (hopefully):
Once the poll ends, I will use the results to stack the KCU members. (This is inspired by the DC one!)
Don't know what the KCU is? No problem! Enjoy voting anyways, click to your heart's content.
Curious about the KCU? The KCU is a four fandom crossover between MCD, Ninjago, MCU, and X-Men that my friends and I made a year or two back.
